Case Law And Other Legal Literature
Recent case law has clearly bright to the fore the benefits of property owners declaring their beneficial
interests. Over the years, the UK tenancy law and especially Joint tenancy law, has held the intention
part of the parties in a joint tenancy contract under presumption . Declaration of interests at the onset
of any property transaction serves to provide clarity about parties intention and may help in the future
to avoid disputes. This essay seeks to establish the various intention uncertainties that are the cause of
peril for the UK joint tenancy and tenancy in common law and the best ways to go about them. This
will be done through reference to case law and other legal literature.
For property joint owners, there has always been some uncertainty especially for those who have not
made express declaration of their interests. During the Stack v Dowden case, it was expected that the
House of Lords would clarify the position, but the House s decisions, as well as the subsequent of the
Supreme Court in Jones v Kernott , have only served to demonstrate the complex issues surrounding
this particular legislation.
Joint ownership
In cases where two or more individuals purchase a property in joint names, the law states that the
parties involved will hold the legal estate as joint tenants and the beneficial interest in the property as
either joint tenants or tenants in common . While joint tenants are entitled to an equal share of the
property, tenants in common are able to

Ceremony In The Giver By Lois Lowry
The Giver by Lois Lowry took place in a Dystopian society where a young boy named Jonas went on
a risky journey to make people feel feelings. In the community there was ceremonies when they reach
a ceremony and they get something from that ceremony. In the ceremony of one they get named and
out into a family unit. In the ceremony of three they are instructed in correct language and dream
telling begins. Ceremony of four their jacket fastens on the back. In the ceremony of seven they begin
wearing front button jacket. In the ceremony of eight they get smaller buttons their jacket, they get
their comfort object taken away, and they start their volunteer hours. Ceremony of nine they get their
bike and the girls lose their hair ribbon. In ceremony

Play Summary Of The Play Los Vendidos By Luis Valdez
Los Vendidos was written by Luis Valdez in 1967, the play tells us issues that Mexican Americans
faced throughout history. Los Vendidos translates to The Sold Ones, which interpreters Valdez s
opinion on Mexican s conformity to the American culture. The play defines four different versions of
Mexican men. The farmworker, Johnny Pachuco, The Revolucionario, and the Mexican American.
Luis Valdez addresses through humor the stereotypes and historical struggles that Mexican Americans
faced in 1967. Although the play was written almost half a century ago I believe it s still relevant
today.
We make assumptions about people, we label and categorize the world, putting people into little
groups. In the play Los Vendidos we can see four different types of Mexican stereotypes. ... Show

The secretary asks for a Mexican who is dark, but not too dark and a hard worker. The farmworker is
the right complexion, hardworking, friendly and economical. The farmworker represents hard working
Mexicans who work in American fields and factories, and jobs that require low skills. Honest Sancho
exults that the Farmworker can go with little food, sleep out in the field and returns to Mexico after
the harvest season. Eventually, he is not purchased because he does not speak English. The second
Mexican model is Johnny Pachuco the urban model. He represents the Lazy Thug. Pachuco steals
rather than works, uses drugs and is violent, runs on fast food, and can be beaten and bruised. The
secretary rejects Pachuco. The third Mexican model is the Early California Bandit Type. This Mexican
is most popularly seen in movies, traditional and romantic who rides horses, leads revolutions and
lives out in the mountains. Revolucionario is a rougher version of a Mexican who has a romantic side.

Introduction
Small ruminants are used by the human being in many ways that provides proteinous meat, induces
the growth of farmers income, facilitates rural employment and improves fertility of the soil
(Thiruvenkadan et al. 2011). As per 19th Livestock Census, India possesses 42 breeds of total 65.06
million numbers of sheep (Livestock Census Report 2012). The sheep population constitute 12.7% of
the total livestock population of India and ranks 2nd in the world sheep population (FAOSTAT 2014).
Total annual mutton production in the country is around 7.12%. The sheep population of Tamil Nadu
is 4.47 million numbers which produces approximately 31440 tonnes of mutton (Anon. 2015). The
efficiency of sheep enterprises can be uplifted by increasing litter size, lamb weight, mutton
production and by the improvement in quality of wool. DNA based molecular markers are used
efficiently for assessment of genetic diversity, selection of animals in early age, study of population
structure, mapping of genes and quantitative trait loci (QTLs), and breeding based on genomic
selection (Collard et al. 2005). The relationship between the economic traits and the genes associated
with these are studied by the candidate gene approach (Andersson 2001). Marker Assisted Selection

Artemis In Greek Mythology
Mythology is an entertaining medium of entertainment, for both the ancient Greeks and Romans,
where there was no other form of entertainment, and the modern world, where the fantasies of old
continue to captivate the minds of the young. Every major Greek god has been represented many
times in modern media, but Artemis is one of the most dynamically presented characters in all of
mythology. This is due to the conflicting nature of the stories previously presented, which has been a
source of confusion for many. Nonetheless, people have continuously made stories out of the archer.
Artemis, while in the classic stories was very wise and fair yet stern, is considered younger and more
crass in more recent adaptations, such as The Titan s Curse. Artemis, ... Show more content on

She had a temple dedicated to her at Ephesus, which was known as one of the Seven Wonders of the
World when it was created ( Temple of Artemis ). It was commissioned by Croesus circa 500 BC,
when he was king of Lydia ( Temple of Artemis ). It measured 350 by 150 feet, and was adorned by
art over the entire temple, even in areas as the top of the pillars that supported it ( Temple of Artemis ).
The temple was destroyed twice, once by fire from Herostratus in 356 BC, and once by destruction
from invading Goths in 262 BC, after which the temple was never rebuilt ( Temple of Artemis ).
Works of art were also dedicated to stories describing her, such as her encounter with Acteon in which
Acteon and his hunting dogs come across Artemis bathing in the woods; in spite, she turns Acteon into
a mute deer who is attacked by his dogs ( Artemis and Acteon ). This scene is described through an
ancient bell krater, a vase like object used to mix wine and water to dilute the heavy wine of ancient
times (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston). The bell krater depicts the scene where Artemis shoots Acteon
and he is attacked by his dogs. The scene shows grace in Artemis s movements, with the feeble Acteon
helpless and on the ground, begging for mercy for his actions while receiving none. The art and
temples help a modern civilization to understand how the ancient world worshipped

Severe Acute Kidney Injury
Introduction Acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery is a well known complication that
occurs in up to 30% of patients(1,2). Severe acute renal failure, which requires renal replacement
therapy, is associated with a very high mortality(60 100%) when treated with the usual intermittent
hemodialysis(3 5) . However, the introduction of continuous renal replacement therapy has resulted in
significant improvement in outcome as well reduction in mortality(1,5). One such form of continuous
renal replacement is continuous venovenous hemofiltration(CVVH). CVVH treats uraemia and
ultrafiltrate toxic proteins such as the myocardial depressant factor, thus it improves heart and lung
functions in patients with ARF and cardiac shock after heart surgery(6,7). It offers better control of the
patient s volume status and also avoids the hemodynamic instability associated with intermittent
hemodialysis(4,7). Such modality of treatment was reported to be approximately 6% after CABG(8,9).
It is essential to predict which group of patients would benefits from such intensive use of CVVH so
as to use it more rationally(3). Based on many published studies, early use of CVVH is advocated to
have better outcomes(3,7). However, its use has been criticized for being costly, resource intensive
and virtually may not improve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

replacement therapy(RRT) have significantly longer in hospital stay as well as increased

The coastline of Colombia extends for about 1760 km (about 1090 mi) along the Caribbean and for
about 1450 km (about 900 mi) along the Pacific. River mouths along the coasts are numerous, but no
good natural harbors exist.
AClimate Colombia lies almost entirely in the Torrid Zone, a meteorological term denoting the areas
of the earth s surface between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn. The climate, however,
varies with the elevation. The low regions along the coast and the deep Patía and Magdalena river
valleys are torrid, with average annual temperatures of 24° to 27° C (75° to 80° F). From about 500 to
2300 m (about 1500 to 7500 ft) the climate is subtropical, and from about 2300 to 3000 m (about 7500
to 10,000 ft) it is temperate. Above about 3000 m (about 10,000 ft) is the cold climate zone, where
temperatures range from 18° to 13° C (0° to 55° F). The average January and July temperatures in
Bogotá are the same: 14° C (57° F). The averages for the same months in Barranquilla are 27° C (80°

Throughout the year, three month periods of rain and dry weather alternate. Along the Pacific coast
precipitation is heavy. At Bogotá the annual rainfall averages about 1060 mm (about 42 in), and in
Barranquilla it averages about 800 mm (about 32 in). Dry weather prevails on the slopes of the
Cordillera Oriental.

William I Bastard Essay
William I of England was a bastard; an utter, utter, utter bastard. And he was illegitimate. Willy spent
his life in pursuit of money and power and ruthlessly attacked anyone who dared stand between him
and either. He caused the deaths of tens of thousands of men, women and children. There isn t much
nice to say about him. Some do say he was faithful to his wife. That s about it. As far as we know he
never played up. He often spent months away from his little woman but he resisted the temptation of
the flesh, and his suit of armour housed a pure and chaste Willy. Wow! They should have made him a
fucking saint, or perhaps more correctly, a non fucking saint. William was a bastard but little Willy
was a fucking angel.

He looked for a new fight. The King of England died. Edward the Confessor was even more guarded
of his willy than William. He died childless, reputedly so chaste he was still a virgin at the age of sixty
plus. His wife, not wanting to be thought barren, loudly attested to his chastity. Unlike William,
Edward attained sainthood the ultimate non fucking saint.
That s not to say Edward was a saint. As greedy as any other king, he took bribes, and once had a
rebellious Welsh prince killed, and the head delivered to him. That s not very fucking saintly. But not
many saints were saintly. They were more about promoting the Roman Catholic Church as the greatest
show on Earth. Saints provided local appeal in areas the Pope never visited, and let s face it, popes
didn t get out of Rome much in those days.
This was believed to be true for a long time because it is recorded on the Bayeux Tapestry, for a long
time the main source of information on the history of the times, but the that embroidery was
commissioned by a relative of William s and contains a lot of propaganda to justify the Norman rule

Why Is Trump A Good President
Trump is a Terrible President Trump isn t the best president for the United States because he doesn t
make sure American lives are safe and he constantly making decisions that would put our lives in
danger. Many people believe that he is a good president, but why would our country choose someone
who is selfish and egotistical. Trump being the president isn t helping our economy improve and if
anything, it made it worse. First, since Trump has became the president, many things have been
happening to the U.S. For one, we have a constant safety issue because more people are not afraid to
express how they feel by violently harming others. There recently has been a mass shooting in Florida
where many high school students were killed. Trump s way to fix this problem was to state that he
believe all teachers should be armed with a weapon in the classroom. Another way that this issue
could be fixed is to install bullet proof windows and doors, so that incase of a shooting, it would be
almost impossible for the shooter to enter into the classrooms. ... Show more content on

In The Code Book, By Simon Singh
In the Code Book, by Simon Singh he talks about how the exchange of digital information over the
internet has become the most used way to send messages and mail. The use of cryptography is being
used to encrypt emails or important messages. Paper mail has slowly decreased because of everyone
using the internet to do everything and making it easier for someone to intercept an important message
. However, when sending the information or message thru paper mail it is more difficult for someone
to intercept the message, but if using the internet if you don t send it encrypted it can be easy for the
message to be read by someone else.

Animal rescue organizations can be the perfect place to find your next furry friend. These
organizations are all operate differently, but generally work hard to provide loving, caring homes for
animals until a permanent home can be found. Most of these organizations are volunteer based and
strive to keep the welfare of the animals in mind. There are probably several different kinds of animal
rescue organizations in your area. The next time you are ready to get a new cat or dog, consider
calling or visiting one of these organizations and save a life. Most animal rescue organizations operate

People don t like to bring family or friends over while they are on vacation just to feed their fish. I
would suggest going to a fish store and picking up items you need a few days before you go on
vacation. You will either need to buy fish feeders or you will need to buy automatic fish feeders and
put fish flakes inside of them. They will turn every day and feed the fish flakes while you are gone.
You need to remember to keep the feeders on the opposite sides of the bubbler or they will clog with
water and the fish feeder will stop working. You will need to take a look at your fish before you leave
for vacation. If you notice that their fins are torn or they have white speckles on their gills or fins you
will need to give them medication for fin rot and ich. Make sure that your bubbler, filter and heaters
are working properly before you leave for vacation. If your power goes out the filter may kick back on
along with everything else. I wouldn t suggest putting everything on a plug in that can be shut off with
a button because your other animals, dogs and cats, can shut off the power strips and cut off bubblers
and filters. You will want to change the water at least 20 percent before you leave for vacation. You
can purchase feeders which you put in your tank which last up to 2 weeks but I would grab several of
them. Put them in areas away from bubblers so that they don t disperse as fast. The 3 days feeders are
usually gone in one day. Fish can go a few days without eating but you can t leave them alone for
weeks without feeding your fish. You will need to give them quite a bit of food before you leave but
don t give them a lot of excess food because it will make the water cloudy and all the levels in the fish
tank will go up while you are gone. You will need to purchase either fish feeders you place in the
bottom of the tank or automatic fish feeders which spin on the top of the tank. If you buy

Did having Elie s father alive affect him from surviving longer or did he just hold him back? Night is

Good And Evil In The Lottery
Differentiating between good and bad is often difficult when it seems that there is a necessary evil to
obtain a specific outcome. Over the course of English 1302 the class has read several short stories,
poems and even a play that have all had different plots and characters involved. While these diverse
articles appear to have little in common there is a constant underlying theme to most of them.
Regardless of if the story pertained to a village stoning, a murderous wife, an endearing husband, or a
young teenage girl there remains a persistent dismissal of misguided actions or words that are justified
to be the means to some sort of end. In The Lottery , Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? ,
My Mistress Eyes Are Nothing Like The Sun , and Trifles the authors reject the idea of right and
wrong and instead focus on the complications and contradictions found in good and evil. Society s
vision plays a large role in the text and aids the reader in understanding the depth of the choices the
characters are faced with. In The Lottery there is some discussion among the young people about the
stoning, Over in the north village they re talking of giving up the lottery (Jackson 130) that is
immediately shot down by the elders because their village has come to believe that the stoning is
unavoidable. This proves that the society the town has created has caused the characters to decide that
killing one of their people is what is best for the greater good. Similarly in

A Randomized Control Trial, Usher, Alcock, And Petra
In a randomized control trial by Smith, Usher, Alcock, and Petra (2013), the researchers aim to
determine whether the use of NeoWrap, a polyethylene occlusive wrap, immediately after birth was
more effective than standard protocol to control hypothermia in NICU admissions. Participants consist
of 92 infants under 27 weeks of gestation and 44 infants less than 30 weeks gestation. The infants are
randomly assigned to be in either the control or the intervention group; the control group is transferred
under the prewarmed heater immediately after birth, dried and wrapped with prewarmed towels, and
applied a hat. The intervention group is wrapped from the neck the down with the polyethylene wrap
before being transferred to the prewarmed heater and undergoing the aforementioned process. World
Health Organization s definition for hypothermia, as cited by Smith et al. (2013), is a temperature of
less than 36.5 degrees Celsius. This parameter was used by the researchers, and the temperatures of
the infants were taken upon birth and upon NICU admissions as well as admission time for both the
control and intervention groups. The temperature was taken axillary on the infant at birth, upon
admission to the NICU and every 30 minutes using a digital thermometer until the infant reached 120
minutes postadmission. The results showed that although the usage of wrap increased the temperature
in neonates less than 27 weeks old, no statistically significant difference on neonates 27 to 29

Mexican American Cultural Revival
Cultural revival refers to the resilience of unique traditions or group identities from the past for current
social and political affairs. People recover the loss of vital ethnic practices due to forced or voluntary
relocation, colonization or oppression in the past. The process of cultural revival such as consolidating
political identity, personal rights and recognition often consciously or unconsciously associated with
the minorities. The adaptation of past musical elements and genre into prevailing events in the society.
Huelga song is a great example in illustrating the cultural revival of corridos, and plays an important
role in U.S. American music.
The word huelga means strike in English. Similarly, huelga songs have the traits of articulating
political consciousness among the minorities, and the songs are composed entirely in Spanish. During

Analysis Of Cmi s New Cushion Pads
1. To calculate the amount a customer should be willing to pay for one of CMI s new cushion pads, the
average costs per real hour of equipment rental, labor, and overhead costs were first taken into
consideration (Figure 1). These amounted to an average cost per real hour of $714.00. Next, the
average costs per real hour of hidden costs were taken into consideration (Figure 2). According to the
case, a contractor could spend 20 to 40 minutes moving the crane into position. This averaged to 30
((20 + 40) / 2) minutes, or 50% (30 / 60). Similarly, another 10% to 15% was added to cover
scheduling delays, mistakes, and other unavoidable problems. This averaged to 12.5% ((10% + 15%) /
2). Considering these percentages, the total hidden costs were $258.75. The total equipment rental,
labor, and overhead costs with total hidden costs were $972.75 ($714.00 + $258.75). In other words,
the total average cost per real hour was $972.75. Finally, using this total average cost per real hour and
the case, the total costs for driving time, replacing pads for both the Kendrick Foundation Company
and Corey Construction were calculated (Figure 3). The difference between the total contract costs,
excluding total changing time costs, for conventional pads and CMI pads for Kendrick Foundation
Company was $30,738.90. Similarly, the difference between the total contract costs, excluding total
changing time costs, for conventional pads and CMI pads for Corey Construction was $30,738.90.

Advantages Of A Feather Pillow
Choosing the most comfortable feather pillow
Getting a good night s sleep is an important part of maintaining not only your physical health, but also
your mental health. Experts have established that people who sleep inadequately have a weaker
immune system than those who have adequate sleep. Hence getting a good night s sleep becomes
important. Having a pillow that allows you to rest your head in comfort will allow you to sleep
adequately and comfortably. For those seeking a fluffy, soft pillow filled with natural materials, a
feather pillow fits these requirements in full. Considering the vast majority of feather pillow types and
manufactures, it gives one a headache just to select a pillow good enough to guarantee a good night s

Down
Pillows come stuffed with either feathers or down, or a mixture of the two. Down is the cotton like
insulation underneath the hard feathers that keeps a bird cozy, comfy and warm. These feathers are
very soft and fluffy, as compared to the bird s outer feathers which are harder with sharp quills. The
best feather pillows hence contain 100%. Generally, pure down pillows are of higher quality and
comfort than other feather pillows and tend to stay comfy longer. Higher quality pillows come with a
warranty from the manufacturer, so you ll give a peace of your mind (and even get a replacement!) if
your pillow doesn t function well enough.
The Fluff Factor and pillow Fluffiness
How fluffy a pillow is depends on the Fill Power of the pillow. According to the Down Feather
Company Fill power tells us the amount of space that an ounce of the down will fill in cubic inches
inside the pillow. A higher fill power indicates that the pillow contains down from a more mature bird.
This down is larger than that from a younger bird. Larger down feathers mean more loft or height to
the pillow.
Typically :
 Higher fill power = Greater fluffiness
 Higher fill power= Greater

Using Focus Groups In Qualitative Research
In today s society, at risk youths often face challenges when reaching out to adults regarding their
personal situations, especially when it comes to them wanting someone to understand their own
perspectives. Therefore, it is important as a researcher to understand the different procedures to
research, especially when selecting an appropriate method to investigate a problem a community
faces, such as with studying youths. As a result, a researcher must follow the rule of thumb when
designing their methods to avoid ethical issues in qualitative research as well as exploring different
options to allow youths to open up to an adult researcher. However, when considering this problem,
the main goal for a researcher is to investigate what youths ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In order to understand how this method can be used in this study, then it first must be explained.
According to the text, Making Sense of the Social World, focus groups are considered as, a qualitative
method that involves unstructured group interviews in which the focus group leader actively
encourages discussion among participants on the topics of interest (Chambliss Schutt, 2016, p. 220).
Often times young adults are more open when around others of their own age, this is the main reason I
selected this method because an at risk youth is going to be more comfortable answering questions
and sharing their opinions when around a group that shares similar characteristics or life situations
compared to just a one on one conversation between them and a researcher or amongst strangers.
However, with this method there are also strengths and weaknesses when using this method. The
major strengths to focus groups are: they can save time and money compared to other methods, they
provide participants the opportunity to explain their viewpoints, it allows for participants to be more
open and give clarification on their personal and group perceptions, and they provide for a broad range
of information and data to be collected from the sample. The disadvantages to focus groups are: they
are hard to manage among a large group, there can be disagreements or unnecessary conversations
among participants that might take away from the main questions being asked, and not everyone
might what to participate or feel intimidated. Not only are their strengths and weaknesses, but also
there is also ethical concerns because it is an open group setting compared to other methods.
Therefore, the main ethical concern with focus groups is that a researcher has disclosed participants
identities to each other, which can be a concern particularly if there are sensitive topics being
discussed among one

Women Should Be Integrated Into Combat Positions
Women should be integrated into combat positions such as infantry, artillery, and Special Forces. If a
woman chooses this kind of challenge, then she is more than capable. Women are as tough as men.
They can do what a man can do, and if that is going into combat then yes, why not? Women can fight,
shoot, run, work hard, and win for this country like the men of this country do. Women have been in
combat for a long time, but now women are actually in combat rather than helping the men out with
injuries, being a laundresses, a cook, and a nurse. Women can go into combat, just like a man.
Women should be let onto infantry and artillery positions. Women have been involved in our nation s
military since the Revolutionary War, serving not only as nurses and cooks, but also supplying water
to thirsty soldiers on the battlefield. Throughout history, men have always fought our battles while
women stood by, but what if I told you that in some countries, women are fighting alongside men
inside combat zones? Here in the U.S., there is an immeasurable disagreement about equality in the
military. One of the supporting arguments is that several other countries outside the U.S. already have
women serving on the front lines. Countries such as Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, all have
allowed women to serve in any type combat that they qualify in and or meet requirements. While there
are several countries that don t allow women in combat, the U.S. has recently had the biggest sparring

Death Of A Family Member
The article states that mouring and grief are experienced by everyone no matter where one comes
from. It also said that mourning is the response to some illness of someone , death of a family member
, friend , animal or someone close to an individual .(Axelrod, 1969).
Elisabeth stated that bereavement takes a length of time and different steps to overcome all the
intensity level of pain. She said, there are five stages of grieves and the stages do not necessarily occur
on a specific order to someone. She said , people go through these stages before arriving to the stage
of peace and acceptance to die ,but not everyone have the chance to reach this stage before the die.
Elisabeth further expressed that the death of a loved one usually help to prepare people for their own
time to eternity also encourage the audience that: As long as there is life, there is hope. As long as
there is hope, there is life. (Axelrod, 1969). She said many people do not experience all the stages of
death and there is no believed that everyone most go through death stages in sequential the same order
but it is more of a guide to grieving for someone to know the stage of grieve one is experiencing.
She said that everyone grieve differently, some show their emotions to grieving outwardly with
physical expressions while some internalize theirs. Grief is the expression as a stress reaction,
attended by deep physiological changes. (O Rourke, 2010). She said the five stages of grieves are

Explain why the NPV approach is preferred to the IRR approach (2006)
The NPV approach takes into account the timing of cash flows and the IRR does not. For example if
you took 2 projects that required the same initial outlay and had the same cash inflows for the same
period of time but one project was deferred for one year, using the NPV we would have different
values but the IRR would give us the same.
The NPV approach takes into account the scale of the project and the IRR does not. For example
The NPV approach can include multiple positive and negative cash flows in its calculations whereas
the IRR cannot. The IRR is the discount rate that makes a project break even. If market conditions ...

A firm s choice of investments are separate from its owner s attitudes towards the investments.
2. It is possible to separate a firm s investment decisions from the firm s financial decisions.
The first point means that the primary goal of any firm is to maximise its value, regardless of the
attitudes of the firms owners. The second point means that a firm s value is not determined by the way
it is financed or the dividends paid to the firm s owners.
Explain the concepts of business risk and financial risk. (/2010)
Business risk is the possibility that a company will have lower than anticipated profits, or that it will
experience a loss rather than a profit. Business risk is influenced by competition, economic climate,
government regulation amongst others. A company with a higher business risk should choose a capital
structure that has a lower debt ratio to ensure that it can meet its financial obligations at all times. The
ratios used to evaluate business risk include the contribution margin ratio, operating leverage ratio,
financial leverage ratio and total leverage ratio.
Financial risk is the possibility that shareholders will lose money when they invest in a company that
has debt, if the company s cash flow proves inadequate to meet its financial obligations. When a
company uses debt financing, its creditors will be repaid before its shareholders if the company
becomes insolvent. Investors can use a number of ratios to evaluate financial

A Raisin In The Sun Generation Gap Essay
From the beginning, Hansberry displays how the Younger family struggles with the generation gap the
problems that the older generation has in dealing with the younger generation and vice versa. In
Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin in the Sun, family members Mama, Beneatha, Ruth, and Walter voice
their generational differences over religion, life goals, gender identity. These differences then lead to
disagreement and conflict among the family members. The first example is the difference in religious
beliefs of Mama and Beneatha. Mama, in her sixties, is conservative, family oriented, and devoutly
religious. She values religious piety and holds strong to a traditional Protestant belief system. While
Mama is faithful, Beneatha doesn t believe in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To start, Mama does not understand how Ruth and Walter can be so unappreciative and fail to
recognize what they do have versus what they do not have. Regarding Ruth and Walter s generation,
there seems to be an abundance of self perceived shame. They hold little pride in the jobs they hold.
Walter abhors his job as a chauffeur and takes little appreciation in the fact that he has a job at all, as
pointed out by Mama. Because of this miniscule amount of pride, they seem to have difficulty being
proud of anyone else. For example, they chastise Beneatha for going after her dream of being a doctor
instead of applauding her efforts. Mama understands the amount of hard work it took to get the family
where it is today, even if they are experiencing a rough patch. Her husband and her parents wanted to
create a better life for future generations. Mama recognizes that this is a process that will take time.
Unfortunately, they will not be immediately gratified with the perfect life. Though wise, Mama is
incapable of seeing the large toll the times have taken on Ruth and Walter s generation that creates the
high level of frustration. They are working day in a day out and getting nowhere fast. Overall, this
shows that her family is not wealthy, and does not really have extraordinary ambitions to do
something with their lives. On the other

sterility is felt, contrasting the two worlds that James is a part of. James is surrounded by poverty and
suffering while in Iraq, a result of the war that he is fighting in. When it cuts to the supermarket,
James is clean in civilian clothing and surrounding by a cornucopia of food. The lighting is also used
to show the difference between the two places. Iraq is a place covered in a layer of dirt and sand while
the supermarket is a stark bright white, showing off the cleanliness of the land. Right before it cuts to

Going through our warm up, like all volleyball games start, Brenna and I get our arms loose and get
our brains ready for action. We throw the ball back and forth. We go through all the drills of our warm

stand in our positions waiting for the return. The ball comes and two of my teammates go for the same
ball. One yells, Got it! while the other just stand there assuming the other one knows they are going to

The New Forms Of Imprisonment
One reason for the eminent criminologist John Irwin to venture this project of writing a 380 page book
on US prisons is because those over the last quarter of the century the number of prisons in the US has
increased almost ten times. The rate of incarceration zoomed from 100 to over 500 per 100,000. As a
result of this expansion and the punitive ideology that underpinned it, hundreds of new prisons were
built at a cost in the billions of dollars, and completely new prison regimens were introduced. In this
book, I examine the causes of this binge, the new forms of imprisonment it produced, and the
particular and broader effects it caused. (Irwin, 1)

prisoners sentenced more than 5 years were, though not brutalized, extensively harmed by the newer
form of imprisonment. This form of penalizing the prisoners led to a future problem and the prisoners
found it very difficult to coup up to the society outside the prison walls once they were released. It is
obvious that there are no specific grudges against these prisoners and the newer form of penalties are
all well researched and impeccably implemented but the end words keep proving against these
prisoners. This could be termed as discrimination against the prisoners serving a longer sentence than
5 years but in reality it could be expressed as an experiment gone wrong.
Like most community linked organization, or in other words, organizations dealing with a lager
number of members there bound to be some form of discrimination whether one likes it or not. But the
ideal situation is to place the discrimination under a certain amount of check in order to yield a long

not been a single instance in any society over every strata of governance where discrimination was not
a part of the machinery. This is true for every imperial, capitalist, socialist, communist, dictatorial,
anarchist, feudal or fundamental state. And prisons are no different devoid of their location Algeria or

Harvey Milk Language Analysis
The movie, Milk, released in 2008, focuses on Harvey Milk, who was the first openly gay man to
come out and be elected into public office. Throughout the movie, there were many events that had an
impact on how the LGBTQ community was viewed and on gay politicians and politics in America.
This film also inspired many. One of the first events that had an impact on the LGBTQ community
was when Harvey Milk was elected in the Californian public office. This was the most impactful event
in the film because this brought the gay community together and their rights were finally taken into
account. It was also a memorable moment for Harvey Milk as this was the third time trying and he
finally won. He was also the third openly homosexual politician in the entire US. The gay community
started to feel like they re not alone and they re one of them as well. They felt more welcomed once
Milk was elected and felt that there was finally someone to represent them in the community as a
whole and stand up for their rights together. This also had a lot of impact on gay politicians and
politics in America. A lot of his relationships messed up with his gay friends and other friends because
of his devotion to politics. He meets Dan White, but a lot of their opinions differ and this has a

Charles And Medgar Evers Summary
From the colonial era in America to present day, there has always been black resistance whether it s
just by revolting by not doing work or armed self defense.
Cobb illustrates that armed self defense as a form of black resistance. Cobb talks about a personal
experience of his in which he refers to how the Mayor of Ruleville, Mississippi actually held Cobb
and two of his friends at gunpoint, barking, You African Americans get into the car! (23). And when
asked why, Dorrough yelled, Because this pistol says to! (23). This part of the book shows that even
though that his friends and Cobb were just being non violent, they almost got killed by the Ruleville s
mayor.
Cobb shows that one of the earliest restrictions placed upon peoples of African descent came in the
form of laws that made it illegal for any black person, free or enslaved, to own a gun. And he reminds
us that fears of slave insurrections remained a constant feature of slavery. Cobb considers the Civil
War a watershed moment because it provided African American soldiers with the opportunity to fight

Alcohol and Spiritual Deadlock--John Berryman Essay
Alcohol and Spiritual Deadlock In his introduction to John Berryman s unfinished work Recovery,
about his efforts to recover from alcoholism, Saul Bellows asserts that the act of writing poetry killed
Berryman, and alcohol helped fuel the writing process: Inspiration contained a death threat. He would,
as he wrote the things he waited and prayed for, fall apart, (Recovery xii). During his career as a poet,
he was diseased with alcoholism and suffered from extreme lapses of anxiety. Berryman wrote a
majority of the Dream Songs, his largest and best known collection of 385 poems, while suffering,
sometimes excruciatingly, from alcoholism. Throughout the Dream Songs, the narrators, Henry, Mr.

The Dream Songs, as will be discussed, reveal a dark past, a tortured identity, and alcoholic tendencies
that suppress the poet both spiritually and emotionally. Berryman initiates the Dream Songs with a
tone that well befits an alcoholic or one who is inclined towards self destructive behavior. His narrator,
the anonymous speaker, portrays Henry as pouting and resentful is nonetheless aware that he could
reach a compromise: Huffy Henry hid the day Unappeasable Henry sulked. I see his point, a trying to
put things over. It was the thought that they thought They could do it made Henry wicked away. But
he should have come out and talked. (#1) Henry is immersed in self pity and incapable of being
appeased, content to dwell in his malaise. The structure of the lines and stanzas also heighten the
effect of the sulking. The effect created by the meter in first two lines is analogous to experiencing the
whine of a demanding child (e.g. You can t make me! or I don t wanna! ). The brevity and simplicity
of his convictions also suggest that he is firmly rooted in his sulky disposition and will not easily be
swayed otherwise. However, the speaker sympathizes with Henry and understands his resentment, but
also recognizes that talking about and resolving the matter would be the best, most mature course, but
there is no resolution. Author Lewis Hyde states, in regard to the childish tone:

to RNA before culminating in protein synthesis (Bandyra Luisi, 2015). In essence, our genetic
information is mainly used to code for specific proteins. There are 20 amino acids that can be bonded
together in many different orders to form a number in excess of 10 million proteins across all
biological organisms (Innovateus, 2015). Proteins have many different uses and functions, as well as
modifications. Examples of these differences include glycoproteins with carbohydrates attached to be
used in the cell membrane and phosphorylated serine molecules that act as metabolites. For the protein
to be able to carry out its specific function, it must fold in the correct way. A precise path must be
followed to allow the correct shape to be formed and if there is an error in this process, the misfolded
protein could lead to dangerous diseases forming.

The point of using this molecule is to reduce the risk of proteins folding into non functioning shapes
and aggregating (Saibil, 2006). Protein aggregation is the accumulation of misfolded proteins and they
can form insoluble plaques known as amyloids. The pathway to aggregation is, perhaps; an alternative
to the innate pathway and that the aggregation pathway favours interactions within the molecules
rather than between them (Stefani, 2004). There are specific and non specific forms of chaperones and
it is thought that their existence was a product of evolution. Therefore, protein misfolding is likely to
have been a prominent feature of life, encouraging the eventual production of quality control
molecules. A mutation to the chaperones can render them obsolete and in some cases they are not
present at all. Some diseases are caused by a mutation to the chaperone or an absence of the protein
altogether (Reynaud,

Lan Virtual Networks
There are two main types of virtual networks. These networks include virtual private networks and
virtual local area networks. Their acronyms are VPN for virtual private network and VLAN for virtual
local area network. Both of these virtual networks have specific uses and functions. VPNs and VLANs
differ in several ways because of the way they are used. To begin with, a virtual private network is a
tunnel between two systems, a remote network or a device and a private network elsewhere. This
tunnel is encrypted and uses the Internet. A virtual local area network is simply a LAN that is virtual.
It is mainly used to mitigate broadcast traffic since it splits up the broadcast domain into pieces. It is
split using switches and connected to other

Ford Pinto Pros And Cons
Lauren McNerney Professor Matteson PHI 361 12D June 22, 2017 In the 70s, it was about the value
vs. profit. Everyone wanted a cheap affordable car. No one really seemed to care about safety, just
how can I get a car that will transport me from point A to point B. In a business, you have several
positions that are high up in the corporation that keep it running. A CEO for example is someone who
makes decisions for the business and its products it sells. The case we are dealing with is the Ford
Pinto that was made back in 1970. The problem with the making of this car was it was cheap,
affordable and got people where they needed to be. But what people were finding out was that if you
went 20mph and got rear ended your car could have the possibility of catching on fire. There in fact
had been numerous of cases that had been reported of people dying from such incidents. Yet, with the
condition of people being aware and along ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That being said in reading Freemans article his theory was the basic idea is that businesses, and the
executives who manage them, actually do and should create value for customers, suppliers, employer s
communities, and financiers (or shareholders) (R. Edward Freeman). Freeman was more for the
quality than the quantity unlike Friedman he saw things as do what you have to do to get by. Being in
charge of a corporation you want what is best for your company along with keeping the people safe
and getting your product out there in a timely fashion. The people wanted the cheap and could kill you
car. As being a CEO, the company needed a safer car in the market. That way the customer has an
option in choosing what car they would rather have. Having two of the same products out in the
market one is just safer than the other at least then it couldn t come back on the company when
someone chose the dangerous car rather than the safer

Ray Bradbury s Short Story The Flying Machine
ENGLISH Task 5; Journal ~ Syairah Abdul Basher
Written Text;
The Flying Machine Ray Bradbury
Mains Ideas Evident In The Text
The Flying Machine explores the idea of new technological improvements with no clear goal; will
they be used to aid humanity or harm it? In one hand, the man creates a flying machine of bamboo and
paper; which allows him to soar in the sky and explore beauty of the land. However, the inventor only
sees the good in his creation. On the other hand, the Emperor sees the negative consequences of the
machine, where he feels the danger of it falling into the evil hands; therefore, bringing ruin to his
people. However, the Emperor has a machine of his own; a miniature toy like town, where people

The Flying Machine was set in a Kingdom inside the Great Wall of China around the time period of
400 A.D.
It is set early in the morning, as the emperor states, The air is sweet this morning . The short story also
mentions, Early on the morning of the first day of the first week.. We can assume that the short story
happened around February 1st as the Julian calendar was referred. However, we can also conclude that
it might have happened after February 1st based on the Chinese Lunar calendar. It mentions in the
short story that the land is readying however it doesn t reveal which crops, therefore we can predict
that it is either spring or summer.
This information is significant as it suggests rebirth and a new beginning. The atmosphere created in
the story was peaceful and tranquil which juxtaposes the natural world of the setting to the mechanical
world of the inventor.
Along with setting, the characters also play a major role in The Flying Machine. The main characters
are; Yuan, the emperor of China, the inventor, and the

Everyone s reaction was a mean, nasty door slam to the the face. The boy, peter, said people don t like
talking about it because they want to forget about it and they also feel of shamed of what they did
during the holocaust or what they didn t do. Many people were forced to kill others and people couldn
t help even if Hey wanted to, because they would be risking their families. They sneak in to a place
where records about everyone who died during the holocast were kept. When they went in they got
caught by a woman. Sara told the woman her story and the woman let them have 20 minutes. After 20
minutes the woman return and realized Sarah and Peter were looking at it document that was for
Karen Frankel . Sara explained that it was her mom and the woman got emotional and wouldn t say

Persuasive Essay On Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park, untamed wild beauty. Stunning landscapes, beautiful waterfalls and rivers,
breathtaking wildlife, and geothermal activity all come together to make Yellowstone an amazing
place. People come from all over the world to witness the beauty of Yellowstone. It is a regulated
national park for a reason, it is so amazing, so beautiful, so spectacular to not preserve it. It hosts
bison, elk, deer, bald eagles, bears, moose, beavers, and amazing trout rivers, everything a perfect
mountain ecosystem should hold. However now there is something else, something that is natural, was
removed but has now returned, flourishing and benefiting its surroundings. Wolves, have been
reintroduced into Yellowstone and have greatly benefited the area. These wolves have started a
positive and beneficial renewal in the park. The reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone National
Park is beneficial because they created and natural and beneficial trophic cascade, other animals in the
park benefited from the wolves, and because the land was able to regrow and flourish due to the
wolves presence. Since the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone they have created an astounding
and advantageous trophic cascade. A trophic cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the
addition or removal of top predators and involving reciprocal changes in the relative populations of
predator and prey through a food chain. These often result in dramatic changes in ecosystem structure
and nutrient cycling. In a three level food chain, an increase (or decrease) in carnivores causes a
decrease (or increase) in herbivores and an increase (or decrease) in primary producers such as plants
and phytoplankton according to briticanna (how to make better). The entire ecosystem was able to
become whole again because the wolves, a key species, were reintroduced. Now this may seem weird,
a predator comes into the area a begins to kill animals, how can this be beneficial in any way? Well
the fact of the matter is that it is extremely beneficial. The reason being the problem in Yellowstone
was the overpopulation of the elk. These elk had no predators, they were free to roam and reproduce,
and they did this very well. Now elk are also a

  • 2. Case Law And Other Legal Literature Recent case law has clearly bright to the fore the benefits of property owners declaring their beneficial interests. Over the years, the UK tenancy law and especially Joint tenancy law, has held the intention part of the parties in a joint tenancy contract under presumption . Declaration of interests at the onset of any property transaction serves to provide clarity about parties intention and may help in the future to avoid disputes. This essay seeks to establish the various intention uncertainties that are the cause of peril for the UK joint tenancy and tenancy in common law and the best ways to go about them. This will be done through reference to case law and other legal literature. For property joint owners, there has always been some uncertainty especially for those who have not made express declaration of their interests. During the Stack v Dowden case, it was expected that the House of Lords would clarify the position, but the House s decisions, as well as the subsequent of the Supreme Court in Jones v Kernott , have only served to demonstrate the complex issues surrounding this particular legislation. Joint ownership In cases where two or more individuals purchase a property in joint names, the law states that the parties involved will hold the legal estate as joint tenants and the beneficial interest in the property as either joint tenants or tenants in common . While joint tenants are entitled to an equal share of the property, tenants in common are able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Los Vendidos translates to The Sold Ones, which interpreters Valdez s opinion on Mexican s conformity to the American culture. The play defines four different versions of Mexican men. The farmworker, Johnny Pachuco, The Revolucionario, and the Mexican American. Luis Valdez addresses through humor the stereotypes and historical struggles that Mexican Americans faced in 1967. Although the play was written almost half a century ago I believe it s still relevant today. We make assumptions about people, we label and categorize the world, putting people into little groups. Eventually, he is not purchased because he does not speak English. The second Mexican model is Johnny Pachuco the urban model. He represents the Lazy Thug. Pachuco steals rather than works, uses drugs and is violent, runs on fast food, and can be beaten and bruised. The secretary rejects Pachuco. • 6. Artemis In Greek Mythology Mythology is an entertaining medium of entertainment, for both the ancient Greeks and Romans, where there was no other form of entertainment, and the modern world, where the fantasies of old continue to captivate the minds of the young. Every major Greek god has been represented many times in modern media, but Artemis is one of the most dynamically presented characters in all of mythology. This is due to the conflicting nature of the stories previously presented, which has been a source of confusion for many. Nonetheless, people have continuously made stories out of the archer. Artemis, while in the classic stories was very wise and fair yet stern, is considered younger and more crass in more recent adaptations, such as The Titan s Curse. Artemis, ... It was commissioned by Croesus circa 500 BC, when he was king of Lydia ( Temple of Artemis ). It measured 350 by 150 feet, and was adorned by art over the entire temple, even in areas as the top of the pillars that supported it ( Temple of Artemis ). The temple was destroyed twice, once by fire from Herostratus in 356 BC, and once by destruction from invading Goths in 262 BC, after which the temple was never rebuilt ( Temple of Artemis ). Works of art were also dedicated to stories describing her, such as her encounter with Acteon in which Acteon and his hunting dogs come across Artemis bathing in the woods; in spite, she turns Acteon into a mute deer who is attacked by his dogs ( Artemis and Acteon ). This scene is described through an ancient bell krater, a vase like object used to mix wine and water to dilute the heavy wine of ancient times (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston). The bell krater depicts the scene where Artemis shoots Acteon and he is attacked by his dogs. The scene shows grace in Artemis s movements, with the feeble Acteon helpless and on the ground, begging for mercy for his actions while receiving none. • 7. Severe Acute Kidney Injury Introduction Acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery is a well known complication that occurs in up to 30% of patients(1,2). Severe acute renal failure, which requires renal replacement therapy, is associated with a very high mortality(60 100%) when treated with the usual intermittent hemodialysis(3 5) . However, the introduction of continuous renal replacement therapy has resulted in significant improvement in outcome as well reduction in mortality(1,5). One such form of continuous renal replacement is continuous venovenous hemofiltration(CVVH). CVVH treats uraemia and ultrafiltrate toxic proteins such as the myocardial depressant factor, thus it improves heart and lung functions in patients with ARF and cardiac shock after heart surgery(6,7). It offers better control of the patient s volume status and also avoids the hemodynamic instability associated with intermittent hemodialysis(4,7). Such modality of treatment was reported to be approximately 6% after CABG(8,9). It is essential to predict which group of patients would benefits from such intensive use of CVVH so as to use it more rationally(3). Based on many published studies, early use of CVVH is advocated to have better outcomes(3,7). Trump being the president isn t helping our economy improve and if anything, it made it worse. First, since Trump has became the president, many things have been happening to the U.S. For one, we have a constant safety issue because more people are not afraid to express how they feel by violently harming others. There recently has been a mass shooting in Florida where many high school students were killed. Trump s way to fix this problem was to state that he believe all teachers should be armed with a weapon in the classroom. • 14. Good And Evil In The Lottery Differentiating between good and bad is often difficult when it seems that there is a necessary evil to obtain a specific outcome. Over the course of English 1302 the class has read several short stories, poems and even a play that have all had different plots and characters involved. While these diverse articles appear to have little in common there is a constant underlying theme to most of them. Regardless of if the story pertained to a village stoning, a murderous wife, an endearing husband, or a young teenage girl there remains a persistent dismissal of misguided actions or words that are justified to be the means to some sort of end. In The Lottery , Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? , My Mistress Eyes Are Nothing Like The Sun , and Trifles the authors reject the idea of right and wrong and instead focus on the complications and contradictions found in good and evil. Society s vision plays a large role in the text and aids the reader in understanding the depth of the choices the characters are faced with. In The Lottery there is some discussion among the young people about the stoning, Over in the north village they re talking of giving up the lottery (Jackson 130) that is immediately shot down by the elders because their village has come to believe that the stoning is unavoidable. This proves that the society the town has created has caused the characters to decide that killing one of their people is what is best for the greater good. Similarly in ... Participants consist of 92 infants under 27 weeks of gestation and 44 infants less than 30 weeks gestation. These amounted to an average cost per real hour of $714.00. Next, the average costs per real hour of hidden costs were taken into consideration (Figure 2). According to the case, a contractor could spend 20 to 40 minutes moving the crane into position. This averaged to 30 ((20 + 40) / 2) minutes, or 50% (30 / 60). Similarly, another 10% to 15% was added to cover scheduling delays, mistakes, and other unavoidable problems. This averaged to 12.5% ((10% + 15%) / 2). Using Focus Groups In Qualitative Research In today s society, at risk youths often face challenges when reaching out to adults regarding their personal situations, especially when it comes to them wanting someone to understand their own perspectives. Therefore, it is important as a researcher to understand the different procedures to research, especially when selecting an appropriate method to investigate a problem a community faces, such as with studying youths. As a result, a researcher must follow the rule of thumb when designing their methods to avoid ethical issues in qualitative research as well as exploring different options to allow youths to open up to an adult researcher. In order to understand how this method can be used in this study, then it first must be explained. According to the text, Making Sense of the Social World, focus groups are considered as, a qualitative method that involves unstructured group interviews in which the focus group leader actively encourages discussion among participants on the topics of interest (Chambliss Schutt, 2016, p. 220). Often times young adults are more open when around others of their own age, this is the main reason I selected this method because an at risk youth is going to be more comfortable answering questions and sharing their opinions when around a group that shares similar characteristics or life situations compared to just a one on one conversation between them and a researcher or amongst strangers. However, with this method there are also strengths and weaknesses when using this method. The major strengths to focus groups are: they can save time and money compared to other methods, they provide participants the opportunity to explain their viewpoints, it allows for participants to be more open and give clarification on their personal and group perceptions, and they provide for a broad range of information and data to be collected from the sample. The disadvantages to focus groups are: they are hard to manage among a large group, there can be disagreements or unnecessary conversations among participants that might take away from the main questions being asked, and not everyone might what to participate or feel intimidated. Not only are their strengths and weaknesses, but also there is also ethical concerns because it is an open group setting compared to other methods. Therefore, the main ethical concern with focus groups is that a researcher has disclosed participants identities to each other, which can be a concern particularly if there are sensitive topics being discussed among one ... If a woman chooses this kind of challenge, then she is more than capable. Women are as tough as men. They can do what a man can do, and if that is going into combat then yes, why not? Women can fight, shoot, run, work hard, and win for this country like the men of this country do. Women have been in combat for a long time, but now women are actually in combat rather than helping the men out with injuries, being a laundresses, a cook, and a nurse. Women can go into combat, just like a man. Women should be let onto infantry and artillery positions. Women have been involved in our nation s military since the Revolutionary War, serving not only as nurses and cooks, but also supplying water to thirsty soldiers on the battlefield. Throughout history, men have always fought our battles while women stood by, but what if I told you that in some countries, women are fighting alongside men inside combat zones? Here in the U.S., there is an immeasurable disagreement about equality in the military. One of the supporting arguments is that several other countries outside the U.S. already have women serving on the front lines. Countries such as Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, all have allowed women to serve in any type combat that they qualify in and or meet requirements. As a result of this expansion and the punitive ideology that underpinned it, hundreds of new prisons were built at a cost in the billions of dollars, and completely new prison regimens were introduced. The Pros And Cons Of Misfolded Protein Introduction The central dogma of molecular biology conveys the idea that genetic information passes from DNA to RNA before culminating in protein synthesis (Bandyra Luisi, 2015). In essence, our genetic information is mainly used to code for specific proteins. There are 20 amino acids that can be bonded together in many different orders to form a number in excess of 10 million proteins across all biological organisms (Innovateus, 2015). Proteins have many different uses and functions, as well as modifications. Examples of these differences include glycoproteins with carbohydrates attached to be used in the cell membrane and phosphorylated serine molecules that act as metabolites. For the protein to be able to carry out its specific function, it must fold in the correct way. A precise path must be followed to allow the correct shape to be formed and if there is an error in this process, the misfolded protein could lead to dangerous diseases forming. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The point of using this molecule is to reduce the risk of proteins folding into non functioning shapes and aggregating (Saibil, 2006). Protein aggregation is the accumulation of misfolded proteins and they can form insoluble plaques known as amyloids. The pathway to aggregation is, perhaps; an alternative to the innate pathway and that the aggregation pathway favours interactions within the molecules rather than between them (Stefani, 2004). There are specific and non specific forms of chaperones and it is thought that their existence was a product of evolution. Therefore, protein misfolding is likely to have been a prominent feature of life, encouraging the eventual production of quality control molecules. A mutation to the chaperones can render them obsolete and in some cases they are not present at all. Some diseases are caused by a mutation to the chaperone or an absence of the protein altogether (Reynaud, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Lan Virtual Networks There are two main types of virtual networks. These networks include virtual private networks and virtual local area networks. Their acronyms are VPN for virtual private network and VLAN for virtual local area network. Both of these virtual networks have specific uses and functions. VPNs and VLANs differ in several ways because of the way they are used. To begin with, a virtual private network is a tunnel between two systems, a remote network or a device and a private network elsewhere. This tunnel is encrypted and uses the Internet. A virtual local area network is simply a LAN that is virtual. It is mainly used to mitigate broadcast traffic since it splits up the broadcast domain into pieces. It is split using switches and connected to other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Ford Pinto Pros And Cons Lauren McNerney Professor Matteson PHI 361 12D June 22, 2017 In the 70s, it was about the value vs. profit. Everyone wanted a cheap affordable car. No one really seemed to care about safety, just how can I get a car that will transport me from point A to point B. In a business, you have several positions that are high up in the corporation that keep it running. A CEO for example is someone who makes decisions for the business and its products it sells. The case we are dealing with is the Ford Pinto that was made back in 1970. The problem with the making of this car was it was cheap, affordable and got people where they needed to be. But what people were finding out was that if you went 20mph and got rear ended your car could have the possibility of catching on fire. There in fact had been numerous of cases that had been reported of people dying from such incidents. Yet, with the condition of people being aware and along ... That being said in reading Freemans article his theory was the basic idea is that businesses, and the executives who manage them, actually do and should create value for customers, suppliers, employer s communities, and financiers (or shareholders) (R. Edward Freeman). Freeman was more for the quality than the quantity unlike Friedman he saw things as do what you have to do to get by. Being in charge of a corporation you want what is best for your company along with keeping the people safe and getting your product out there in a timely fashion. The people wanted the cheap and could kill you car. As being a CEO, the company needed a safer car in the market. That way the customer has an option in choosing what car they would rather have. Having two of the same products out in the market one is just safer than the other at least then it couldn t come back on the company when someone chose the dangerous car rather than the safer ... It mentions in the short story that the land is readying however it doesn t reveal which crops, therefore we can predict that it is either spring or summer. • 49. Persuasive Essay On Yellowstone National Park Yellowstone National Park, untamed wild beauty. Stunning landscapes, beautiful waterfalls and rivers, breathtaking wildlife, and geothermal activity all come together to make Yellowstone an amazing place. People come from all over the world to witness the beauty of Yellowstone. It is a regulated national park for a reason, it is so amazing, so beautiful, so spectacular to not preserve it. It hosts bison, elk, deer, bald eagles, bears, moose, beavers, and amazing trout rivers, everything a perfect mountain ecosystem should hold. However now there is something else, something that is natural, was removed but has now returned, flourishing and benefiting its surroundings. Wolves, have been reintroduced into Yellowstone and have greatly benefited the area. These wolves have started a positive and beneficial renewal in the park. The reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone National Park is beneficial because they created and natural and beneficial trophic cascade, other animals in the park benefited from the wolves, and because the land was able to regrow and flourish due to the wolves presence. Since the reintroduction of wolves into Yellowstone they have created an astounding and advantageous trophic cascade. A trophic cascade is an ecological phenomenon triggered by the addition or removal of top predators and involving reciprocal changes in the relative populations of predator and prey through a food chain. These often result in dramatic changes in ecosystem structure and nutrient cycling. In a three level food chain, an increase (or decrease) in carnivores causes a decrease (or increase) in herbivores and an increase (or decrease) in primary producers such as plants and phytoplankton according to briticanna (how to make better). The entire ecosystem was able to become whole again because the wolves, a key species, were reintroduced. Now this may seem weird, a predator comes into the area a begins to kill animals, how can this be beneficial in any way? Well the fact of the matter is that it is extremely beneficial. The reason being the problem in Yellowstone was the overpopulation of the elk. These elk had no predators, they were free to roam and reproduce, and they did this very well. Now elk are also a ...
