Federalist No. 10 Cons
In James Madison s Federalist no. 10 he states that it takes a strong union to be able to break and
control the violence against factions (The Federalist). Madison s Federalist no. 10 was written at the
time when the US government was small and weak (The Federalist). So the Us government could
have been easily toppled by a faction. How have factions caused challenges and animosity in modern
day America
When factions are brought up in politics people think of the animosity that is created by factions in
their pursuit for change. But today we don t really see animosity when factions try to make change for
their personal interest. A example of a faction that would not cause animosity would be a Union of
Workers. The workers might have a protest here and there for better pay or better working conditions
but nothing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are other peaceful factions in America such as the MADD, Christian Coalition, and the NAACP
(MADD)(Christian)(Our). The MADD wants to protect families to be protected from drunk driving,
drugged driving and underage drinking (MADD). While the Christian Coalition wants people of faith
to be actively involved in impacting the issues they care about in government (Christian). The
NAACP wants to spread equality for all citizens of the United States (Our). With the agenda of these
factions there is no evidence that shows that they would cause animosity in the United States. But a
faction that could cause animosity could be a racial group like the American Nazi Party or the KKK.
The American Nazi Party claims they are not gangsters and want to push their agenda through politics
and conventions (American). While the KKK want to

Analysis Of The Book Black Hearts
The book Black Hearts opened my eyes to how leadership from a single Officer can have a grappling
effect on such a wide range of soldiers from the lowest of ranks. One of the best takeaways from
Black Hearts is to never do anything: illegal, unethical, or immoral. Although this is a easy statement
to repeat, Black Hearts demonstrates the difficulties that lie behind these words. It has also painted a
picture of how leadership can topple extremely quickly from a top down view. The Army is portrayed
in a bad light throughout the book relentlessly. This is due to the concentration of poor leadership of
the 1 502nd Regiment (Referred to as First Strike ), a battalion of the 101st Airborne Division.
Frederick starts Black Hearts by showing the readers how there was bad tension between the soldiers
and their higher leadership prior to their deployment. This internally means that there was no esprit de
corps between the 1 502nd. If there is bad blood between the leadership and their men, it is extremely
difficult to gain their trust or respect once you are on deployment. Although they are required to
follow orders from their higher leadership, they will be obeying out of resentment instead of respect. A
lot of the time, first platoon, Bravo Company, 1 502nd Regiment was respecting the rank and not the
person. This is a common term in the military, which Frederick brings to light in the book. The 1
502nd deployed to the Triangle of Death from October of 2005

Juxtaposing the Most Similar Contradiction in Edgar Allan...
Throughout all of Edgar Allan Poe s works are common ideas that oppose each such as madness
versus sanity, reality versus the imagined reality and life versus death. Usually these sentiments are
taken as contrasting ideas with little similarities to each other, like black and white. However, many of
these motifs are situated in the grey category. Poe uses the communal thought pathway to highlight its
antithesis; the pathway of grey. With the new pathway, he emphasizes the similarities of the opposing
ideas until they meld into one solid grey idea. One without the other is nothing more than absolutely
nothing at all. Poe creates the grey to both discredit society s division between black and white and to
stress that the first perception is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edgar Allan Poe also used some irony to show the same idea. Hop Frog uses the king s life, in which
he lived on jokes, to arrang[e] his last joke, one which the king clamor[s] for, [the one] in which the
king dies as stated in the Critical Companion to Edgar Allan Poe (Sova 81). The king s life of jokes is
spent, and Hop Frog s jokes have a deathly ring to the king. The irony again illustrates how
intertwined the two opposites are. Irony is also present in the short story Masque of the Red Death to
highlight the connection between life and death in a different way.
The theme within Masque of Red Death is presented in the opposite way, instead of showing that life
needs death, it displays that life cannot escape death. In this story, the nobles of an area attempt to
escape the effects of the sickness the Red Death, all the while allowing death easy pickings. While, for
some time the people are able to isolate themselves from death, the personified character of death
makes an anticipated visit. At the arrival of the masked man, who has the visage of a corpse, the
characters have begun to understand that death had come to get them at last. In the story, death is
synonymous with the outside as proposed by Martin Roth in his article in the University of Wisconsin
Journals. Roth describes the Red Death as an invader from the outside solidifying the idea that escape
is futile (Roth 50). Had death been

Trends in Hotel Industry
Trends In Hospitality Sector Hospitality is all about offering warmth to someone who looks for help at
a strange or unfriendly place. It refers to the process of receiving and entertaining a guest with
goodwill. Hospitality in the commercial context refers to the activity of hotels, restaurants, catering,
inn, resorts or clubs who make a vocation of treating tourists.
Helped With unique efforts by government and all other stakeholders, including hotel owners, resort
managers, tour and travel operators and employees who work in the sector, Indian hospitality industry

These surveys further revealed that these guests will pay anywhere from nine to ten percent premium
on the already advertised prices.
What can be stated as a welcome relief for the educated traveler might pose real challenges for the
hotel business. To better understand the scenario, it should be noted that hotels are presently facing
severe shortages in occupancy rates which are at their lowest since 1971. Such a crisis and lack of
funds can definitely hamper any efforts to install appliances that comply with the LEEDS standards
(Leadership in Energy Environmental Design). Some experts agree that a trade off may lead hotels
into removing free amenities that include little bottles of shampoos, jams and free basket of fruits; all
of which are the hallmark of these eco lodgings.
Where are the Workers gone?
The hotel industry gives employment at a very large proportion of part time workers, who after
gaining substantial experience, leave for other lucrative jobs at restaurants and outdoors. Low wages
in the hotel industry is one of the primary reasons for low retention rates.
Hotel industry Gurus are already thinking of ways to attract and retain qualified workers by increasing
the pay scales and by reducing the long working hours. The top management is now devising
constructive methods that will retain the existing workers by sponsoring education and creating

The Rise Of Self Service Machines
Marx and Technology Karl Marx s theories were written in the 19th century, it is debated whether they
are applicable to the issues of modern society. This essay seeks to explore the key ideas of Marx and
apply them to the chosen contemporary concern of the rise of self service machines. Primarily it will
give an in depth description of his idea of human nature and the key ideas surrounding Marxist theory.
Secondly, it will explain the current issue and argue the rise of technology through the eyes of Marx
by relating to his main concepts. Marx s views on human nature make up the philosophical element of
his ideas. He believed human beings define themselves primarily through their labouring activity.
Labour is therefore what they live for, it defines human beings and also performs functions by
connecting them to their existence. This is achieved in three senses which Marx outlined (Morrison,
2006). Firstly individuals exert control over nature which makes them active in history, rather than
passive. Secondly, labour provides the necessities a human requires to live, without it they would have
no food, shelter or clothing and would not exist. Thirdly Marx believed labour allows an individual to
define themselves. Through labour humans feel in control of their survival and are confirmed in their
own existence (Morrison, p. 120). The essence of the individual is labour, it is central to human
development. Humans still hold the power of creativity but the nature of the capitalist

Organizational Leadership Course Analysis
The Organizational course at Concordia University Portland successfully helps individuals internalize
the concepts related to organizational development while guiding one make ethical and moral
decisions as a leader. Through completion of this course, one will come to the realization that being a
successful leader occurs through acquisition of certain traits. Individuals that are not fully equipped to
successfully lead cannot expect to lead effectively. Fullan (2011) lists the seven qualities of change
leaders in his book as; someone who actively participates, is resolute, who motivates, collaborates, a
learner, uses data correctly, and keeps it simple. All those qualities are important in being an effective
leader, however possessing all of those qualities requires one to be a leader who practices different
leadership styles. As a rising leader it is ones duty to make sure that their team feels supported by
them. The effective change leader actively participates as a learner in helping the organization
improve. (Fullan, 2011) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leading by example is a quality of successful and effective leaders. To ensure that one s team
flourishes in all aspects one must be willing to be an exemplar model. Ensuring that a team knows that
their participation, views and opinions are important is a way to keep morale high. Fullan (2011)
establishes that leaders should continuously elicit the ideas of outside sources to improve situations.
A leader must be aware that their leadership decisions will affect those who they meet and lead daily.
When an individual makes decisions that can ultimately affect me and/or the people around them one
should attempt to ethically rationalize their decisions. It takes a group of individuals to share their
notions with me so that I can assist in bringing those ideas to

Dorothea Lange And The Farm Security Agency Essay
Dorothea Lange and the Farm Security Agency:
From 1935 1944, the photographic program of the Farm Security Administration, embarked on a
nationwide quest to document, collect and create a pictorial record of American life during the 1930s
and 1940s. Spanning all fifty states, the photographers produced more than 175,000 black and white
negatives, crafting one of the most immense and important photographic compositions in American
history. Created by the federal government, the photography project spanned several government
agencies, from the Resettlement Administration, the Farm Security Administration, and the Office of
War Information. Although the photographic program of the Farm Security Administration was
initially aimed at supporting the New Deal, the images produced had far more reaching sociological
and cultural impacts, all the while redefining the art of photography.
Ever since the camera was invented in 1839, the very nature of photography has been questioned.
With the increasing advent of photographic technology, photography has become an egalitarian
expression of society and community. With one press of a button, an image is captured for eternity,
bringing to question the inherent artistic quality of photographs. If we can so quickly capture an
image, can this be deemed art? Art is to promote fantasy, and dream, to incite anger and joy. Thus,
surely photography is an art, as seen through its capturing of beautiful verdant landscapes, and the

The Legend Of Zelda s Mask
What is the most mysterious video game you have ever played? The Legend of Zelda: Majora s Mask
is by far the darkest entry in the series (Beast). Majora s Mask, the mysterious pastime that gave its
creators nightmares, is not only one of the best participants in the Legend of Zelda series, but also one
of the top games of all time. Even though it had a slow start, because Nintendo s rival released the
PlayStation 2, a few days after Majora s Mask was released, in spite of this, it still claimed its spot as
one of the greatest technological amusements of all time (Luckerson). Majora s Mask received many

The mask finally now free, immediately began its plot to destroy the earth. Skull Kid summoned the
moon to come crashing down on Termina. In the interim, with three days of life left for everyone,
Link swiftly solved everyone s problems and re ascended the moon back to space.
This three day period is not only an excellent addition to the story, but it is also a great challenge for
players. Time steadily passes in the game while you play, with the daylight giving way to the night...
(Stratton 14). Each day is 18 minutes long, allowing for a whopping 54 minutes of game time
(Mirabella). Accordingly, this added pressure can easily stump beginning players, but for masters of
Majora s Mask, time seems to stand still. The developers did not leave players without a remedy for
this time limit though; they provided players with the Ocarina of Time.
Given to Link by Princess Zelda, this magical instrument calls forth legendary powers to aid Link in
his quest (Stratton 21). The most useful way that Link can use the Ocarina of Time is to slow time
down, which doubles those precious 54 minutes into 108 stress free minutes. In addition to this, Link
can use his Ocarina is to travel back to the dawn of the first day of the story. This allows him another
three days to try to save the world again. Most people who had complaints toward Majora s Mask
were specifically unhappy about the time limit. For this reason, they complained

Islamic holidays vary in importance among individual Kurds.
The Kurdish nation is very proud of its extravagantly rich oral literature, such as poems, tales, songs,

Bandwidth is the quantity of data traffic which can be downloaded from a website per second. The
data traffic works like any usual traffic, if they are lots of vehicles on the road, it will take you a lot
longer to reach than if you were the single person driving on the road. The data traffic works alike e.g.
if they are lots of people transferring from a website all at the same time the download speed will be

Business Law Mistake
Introduction
In the Law of Contract the phrase mistake Misrepresentation is applied when one or both parties of a
contract act under a false or mistaken understanding.
Mistake can be defined by Pendleton , Vickery (1998), [1] as; ➢ A misunderstanding regarding a fact,
causing one or more parties to hold disagreeing beliefs about the foundation of a contract.
Mistakes can be made in the form of a contracts subject matter or as a mistake of identity. There are 3
different types of mistake in Contract Law. ➢ Common Mistake (Subject) ➢ Mutual Mistake
(Subject) ➢ Unilateral Mistake (Identity)

➢ Voidable
On the other hand if the contract is deemed voidable due to misrepresentation the contract still exists
and the good title is passed from the first party to the crook who then passes the good title on the an
innocent third party (as long as the innocent third party paid a reasonable price for the goods, if they
did not pay a reasonable price the court will find they did not have good faith and the contract is
therefore void). In a case like this the only thing the plaintiff can do is find the crook and sue him for
the amount lost.
There are two ways a court will decide if the contract is made void for mistake or not. If the contract
was made face to face or at a distance (eg. on the phone or by letter) ➢ At a distance
This was first applied in the case Cundy v Lindsay (1878)[10] where a crook had pretended to be a
regular customer of the company and ordered a substantial amount of goods. Once in possession of the
goods he sold them on to an innocent third party who bought them at a reasonable price (good faith).
The company then took action against the innocent third party under the grounds of mistake. It was
held in this case that the plaintiff was mistaken as to the identity of the crook and the contract was
made void, on the grounds that the plaintiff thought they

Examples Of Stereotypes About Africa
Africa is a bountiful and beauteous continent filled with unique individuals, various attractions, and a
myriad of cultures. It is a land of genetic diversity, technological achievement and riches. From the
East African nation of Kenya where expansive wildlife reserves and national parks can be found to the
Arab republic of Egypt in the North where pyramids harken back to the past, no part of Africa is the
same. Yet despite this, there are those who refuse to see the real Africa and instead choose to
perpetuate outdated and racist stereotypes. The numerous stereotypes about Africa are detrimental, not
just to the continent, but to Africans as well. These stereotypes obstruct the global perception of Africa
and seep into international policies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The various stereotypes that developed during the slave trade were based on preconceived notions
held by Europeans and were later used to subjugate Black people. The Jezebel stereotype, for
example, stems from Europeans first encounter with Black women and depicts Black women as
having a voracious sexual appetite. It developed because Europeans perceived the semi nudity of some
tribes, which was required because of specific climates, as lewd. This stereotype, which attributed the
polygamist practices of certain tribes to lust and misconstrued tribal dances as orgies, was used to
label Black women as sexually promiscuous and immoral. During the era of slavery, as the notion
proliferated through society, it was used to justify the rape of female slaves by their white masters.
Through European expansion, colonizers and explorers frequently interacted with ethnic groups and
attributed specific practices to different groups. Rather than learning about the cultures of the groups
they encountered, Europeans chose to generalize based off their observations. The stereotype of the
savage African which depicts Africans as primitive, simple, childlike, and/or cannibalistic individuals
who live in tribes, carry spears, and believe in witchcraft developed because of observations made by
various European explorers who did not understand the intricacies of African culture and misconstrued
the various tribes as one. As time progressed, the stereotypes became cemented in and proliferated
across the globe. In modern society, stereotypes about Africa have typically been utilized to explicitly
distinguish between African traditional healing, which is said to be primitive and stagnant, and
biomedicine, which is construed as a praxis of the civilized West: After the end of formal colonial
rule, nationalist

Pip s Internal Pacifist Struggles Essay
Dickens introduced Pip as a child, an element essential to the understanding of Pip s internal
moralistic struggles. The establishment of young Pip makes the audience view Pip as an innocent and
honest person. Children are often deemed to be more honest and simple than adults. When Pip first
encounters the convict, the appearance of him scares Pip out of his mind. The man threatens Pip to
bring him a few items otherwise he will go after his family. He also tells Pip to not tell a soul about
him or he will be hurt as well. What Pip fails to realize is that the convict is cold, as he has been
soaked in water (10), and hungry, which was made clear when he ate the bread ravenously (11). Not
only that, the convict can barely walk correctly since he has a limp. Putting all of it together, the
convict is in no shape to be chasing after Pip and his family to harm them. Because Pip is an innocent
child, he cannot put those clues together and obeys the convict out of fear anyway. Pip has had a
strong sense of morals since a young age. After the incident with the man in the marshes, the guilt of
the idea of lying to Joe, his step brother who has always treated him with affection, bites his
conscience. Pip refers stealing from Joe, and Mrs. Joe, his sister, a guilty knowledge (19). It shows
that Pip does not like stealing from them, no matter how badly Mrs. Joe treats him and his moralistic
standards. He got the job done and brought the requested items to the man. Once he got

A Christmas Memory Essay
It is curious that as children, humans have the ability to observe and remember details of specific
situations and instances yet lack the ability to describe them. Truman Capote, as a grown man, took
advantage of his vivid memories and composed the short work, A Christmas Memory. The story
begins in late November, a month symbolic of all the years gone by that Capote could remember
beginning preparations for Christmas fruitcakes.
The year he has chosen, though, is that of the last Christmas three friends spend together. A boy of
seven, Capote has but two friends: his sixty something year old distant cousin and a loyal, happy
pooch named Buddy. Although the age difference between the cousins is great, it is clear that the two

An uncommon usage of colons is employed throughout his work to present different areas of text.
Although mostly used for introducing lists or great excerpts of quotes, Capote uses colons for lists as
well as for dividing lines of text to break the monotony. Even more so, they are used as directions for
the reader to understand peoples movements and the exact details of the story. For instance, at one
point Capote writes: Enter: two relatives. Very angry. It is as if the story is a play and he is the director
telling the reader how to interpret the scenes.
Capote s description of things is also different from the typical person s description. For example, to
the laymen, the sun is a big, bright, shiny ball of fire. To Capote, the sun rises ...round as orange and
orange as hot weather moons, balanc[ing] on the horizon, burnish[ing] the silvered winter woods. His
word choice elicits more than just a visual sense of what he is describing; they entice all the senses to
jump into his memory. It is distressing that the friends lack any real interaction with the others in the
household other than to be scolded. The reader feels as if perhaps the neglected ones should be pitied.
Yet, it is comforting that they find consolation in each other and can appreciate each moment for its
beauty. In the end, Capote recalls his friend looking upon the land in front of them

The Effects Of Fracking On The United States And Its...
Introduction With the proliferation of fracking in the United States and its impact on so many different
aspects of society from environmental to health and economic impact, it is an important topic that
demands more research and along with more community awareness. Another aspect of fracking that is
discussed much less than the environmental and public health aspects is that the people that benefit
most from the fracking industry usually white affluent individuals do not live in the area that drilling
process or waste disposal process happens (Johnston, J. j., Werder, E., Sebastian, D. (2016). It is also
important to keep in mind how the elites of society are able to mold and manipulate public opinion to
suit their needs (Davis, C., Fisk, J. M. (2014). It has been shown how persistent opinions from elites
and media messages can sway public opinion in whichever direction they choose (Davis, C., Fisk, J.
M. (2014). This paper demonstrates how the fracking industry not only poisons the environment it
poisons communities through creating conflict and negative public health issues.
Methods In their research review Charles Davis and Jonathan Fisk (2014) set out to examine public
attitudes about the fracking industry, they based their findings on analysis of survey data of 2400

The BART Model
The BART Model is consisted of four parts: boundary, authority, role, and task. Boundary works as
the container for the group, such as time, space, and resources. The authority is the power to lead and
direct the group project in general. When a person takes up his or her authority, it implies that he or
she is taking the responsibility and the position of the leader. But there are two types of authorities:
formal authority and informal authority. Formal authority should be clearly characterized in one s role
by the general population that is granting it and fully comprehended by the general population that is

we had any informal authority; none of us knew enough to assign certain people to do something.
Desiree took the role of supplying the tape; it was not because she was assigned to do it by someone,
but because she happened to be sitting in a more suitable position to do that role. And the rest of us
didn t adhere to certain roles, but we moved from one to another.
One thing that I noticed is that I didn t find any social loafing among our group members. I have heard
a lot of social loafing happening in group projects from my friends, and I think it is natural to have
one. One of the main reasons why Socialism failed is because people didn t do their assigned job as
they were all sharing the outcome. People tend to work a lot less when the task is not their own
responsibility. However, with the competition against other teams, the reward that the professor

What Are The Behaviors That Influence Information Security...
The primary implication of the current study is the positive social change. Through the themes,
educators and school administrators may consider prioritizing the need for information security
training to avoid disclosure of information from both students and teachers. Moreover, school
administrators may implement policies that promote the protection of information among students and
educators. The findings also contribute to the body of knowledge about the factors that are unknown
about unauthorized disclosure of information related to information security awareness training in
public schools. Furthermore, the research study contributes to elements of the protection motivation

Participants reported that undergoing training and taking security seriously reduced unauthorized
disclosures. Arachchilage and Love (2014) confirmed the need for information security training. The
researchers suggested that personnel have an insufficient amount of both knowledge and training to
mitigate threats related to information security. For instance, organizations attempt to counter
information security threats by publishing organizational policies and conducting periodic information
security training that assist in the mitigation efforts to thwart threats such as fraud, viruses, malware,
spyware, and social engineering attacks (Arachchilage Love, 2014; Chen, Ramamurthy, Wen, 2015;
Singh et al., 2013).
Aloul (2012) supports the reiteration for information security training. An aspect of securing
organizational data and information in the public school system brings about the need for information
security awareness and training due to increases in security incidents (Aloul, 2012). In addition, Aloul
(2012) added that a method for mitigating and combating the unauthorized release of PII is the
training and education of users in the arena of information security. Trinkle et al. (2014) explained that
the unauthorized release of information or information leakage can be attributed to either internal or
external entities that are conducted either by a human or technical

Privacy Is The Primary Guideline For The Privacy
Privacy in America is developing into a vague set of rules. Each person has a right to privacy, but the
question remains: How much information should be granted to the public ? The answer to this
question varies from person to person. The industries, social networking, protection agency, and
everyday situations create their own ideology of what must remain private.
The Evolution of Privacy To begin, the constitution is the primary guideline for the privacy rights in
America. This may begin to address the problem but it does not set its limitations. Opinions differ in
each individual. During the prohibition period Olmstead was prosecuted for trying to smuggle and sell

Examples of Privacy Interference Overwhelmingly, there is so many cases of privacy infringement
that it is rather concerning. HeLa is one of the most provincial and revolutionary cell strain in the
medical field. HeLa cells originated from Henrietta Lacks. Henrietta Lacks was a Black woman in
times of segregation. Her only option for a hospital was Johns Hopkins. She needed to have them
remove a tumor in her cervix. The doctor in charge of pathology at the time was Dr. George Otto Gey.
He asked for tissue samples whenever available. The problem with cells is that they die off rather
quick unless they are in the body still. Henrietta Lack s cells viability was stronger than any other. The
cells would keep reproducing outside the body. Even as Henrietta Lacks has moved on, her cells kept
reproducing. The only mistake that came from this discovery was that the doctors never even tried to
consult with Henrietta on the whereabouts of her tissues. They had taken it without her knowledge and
run tests without giving her information that they learned from them. It was not until the doctors
wanted to run tests on the children that the family even knew. (Skloot 13) This might be because the
family was known to be a vulnerable type. They did not know much what was going on, so they had
just assumed the doctor was doing what was best for the patient. Instead the doctors had more concern
for the industry and

Why Is Soccer Important To Me Essay
Have you ever had a connection with someone? Have you ever had a connection with something.
Have you ever made a bond to someone or something you hold dearly close to you? I have a powerful
inseparable bond with the beautiful game futbol, or soccer. Because soccer is a very special part of my
life, I have grown to love it over the past year of playing the game. Here are some reasons why I am
bonded to soccer.
Since I have started playing soccer, my fitness and endurance level has increased dramatically due to
the large amount of running that I do. Until I started playing soccer, my mile time was roughly six
minutes and fifty seconds on average, but now it has dropped to around six minutes flat with having
been playing soccer for a year.

Stress And The Immune System Essay
Stress And The Immune System
The immune system is a very important part of our bodily functions as its main function is to protect
the body against millions of antigens, which attack our cells and try to reproduce viruses and diseases.
The immune system can protect the body in three different ways, in which are:
1. It creates a barrier that prevents the antigens from initially entering the body.
2. If the antigens do manage to enter the body, then your immune system will try to detect the virus
and abolish it before it begins to spread.
3. If the virus does reproduce and begins to cause problems, your immune system is then responsible
for eliminating it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have also found that there are strong links between prolonged stress and disorders, mentally and

the Immune System.
Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 =========================
Aims
The aim of this experiment was to determine the effects of stress on the immune system. This was
determined by analysing how quickly a person s wound healed. It naturally is clearly difficult to create
stress within a group of participants to examine how stress does affect your immune system. Hence
Kiecolt Glaser required seeking a group of participants in which naturally have high levels of chronic
stress.
Procedures
Kiecolt Glaser et al 1995 used a group of women who were caring for relatives suffering from a rare
disease called senile dementia. This responsibility has been known to be associated with chronic
stress.
Kiecolt Glaser et al used a matched participants design, which is where the participants are matched
together based on for example age and height. A volunteer sample was used as the participants were
recruited using advertisements.
There were thirteen women aged between forty seven and eighty one year and who were all carers and
so they were placed in the experimental group. An additional thirteen

Vegetable Puree Experiment
If the vegetable puree is zucchini puree, then the moisture content will increase. The purpose of this
experiment is to determine whether adding vegetable puree to cupcakes increases the moisture
content. No one likes a dry cupcake, so if there is a way to add moisture, then this should happen.
Another benefit to this experiment is that by adding vegetable puree it can be a healthier alternative as
opposed to normal cupcakes. The experiment was interesting because baking is something that is done
very often, and is always great to find ways to improve the food. This project is meant to achieve
better tasting cupcakes, that are also healthier and have better texture.
In a similar project, certain ingredients were taken out of the cupcake. ... Show more content on

Instead of replacing the butter with avocado puree and zucchini puree, the puree was added along with
the butter. This is part of the reason there was too much moisture, especially with the zucchini
cupcakes.
The hypothesis was supported. The zucchini cupcakes contained the most moisture. The moisture
content was 16.5 grams. The moisture content for the avocado cupcakes was 15.5 grams. And the
control cupcakes had a moisture content of 14.4 grams. The science behind the experiment was that
when vegetables are added the moisture content increases, which makes for a better cupcake. The
percent difference was 20%.
The science behind this experiment was the chemistry within baking. The different ingredients in each
batch of cupcakes had a different outcome. Each batch looked and tasted different. This shows how
changing one little thing can have a very different result. This is also a way to show what is good for
your body. The cupcakes without vegetable puree are not as healthy like the zucchini and avocado

The Clean Water Act (USEPA)
1. Ambient and Exposure Standards
Although the growing concern about cyanobacterial blooms, as well as the intoxication by
cyanotoxins worldwide, in the United States there is not any regulation for cyanobacteria or
cyanotoxins levels in the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) or in the Clean Water Act (CWA)
(USEPA, 2015a). Since the SDWA provides the authority for the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (USEPA) to publish health advisories (HAs) for agents that do not have any
national drinking water regulation. Therefore, USEPA is the agency that is responsible for the
implementing and enforcing of the guidelines, standards or HAs related to cyanotoxins. Based on this,

Thus, the use of phycocyanin (PC) a unique pigment present on freshwater cyanobacteria is proposed
for a quick estimator of cyanotoxins (Reynolds, 2006; Simis et al., 2005). Because of that, studies
have been focusing on the use of PC fluorescence properties to identify PC in vivo, since it is excited
in lower wavelengths (between 590 630nm regions of the visible spectrum) and it is emitted around
650nm (Gregor et al., 2007). Therefore, the monitoring of PC using in vivo fluorimeters can provide a
quick response for the risk assessment and management of cyanotoxins in freshwaters.
The agency that would be involved in implementing and enforcing this potential standard is the
USEPA, since according to the Public Law 114 45, Section 1459 (added in from August 7, 2015), the
USEPA is responsible to develop a strategic plan for the assessment, monitoring and management of
risks associated with cyanotoxins in drinking water (USEPA, 2015d). Therefore, through the USEPA s
Algal Toxin Risk Assessment and Management Strategic Plan for Drinking Water it will be possible to
implement as well as validate PC as an estimator for cyanobacteria and consequently to cyanotoxins

Abstract This study aim to investigate the needlepunched nonwoven textile material based composites.
Epoxy as a bonding agent and polypropylene based needle punched nonwoven fiber mat (PP600gsm)
as a reinforced component of composites were used. The solid particle erosion and mechanical
properties of needlepunched nonwoven fiber mat reinforced composites were investigated. The solid
particle erosion wear behavior of needlepunched nonwoven polypropylene composites was evaluated
using irregular shape silica sand particles with the size of 250, 350 and 450μm. These sand particles
were accelerated along a 50mm long nozzle of 3 mm diameter at a varying impact velocity, angles of
impingement and stand of distance. Taguchi analysis was carried out on the basis of Design of

The African Vernacular English
Ya ll be thinkin ebonics be messin wit Standard English, but it be enrichin it in a lotta ways. If you did
not quite understand the first sentence, here is a proper translation; many people believe that African
American English negatively affects Standard English, but it actually enriches it in various ways.
Black English, Ebonics, ghetto talk, slang, and Black Vernacular are all different words or phrases
used to describe the African American Vernacular English (AAVE) language. There are certain factors
that set this dialect apart from what we know to be the Standard English language; its origin is
different, the dialect has other rules and word structure, and there are even notable works of literature
to support the positive gains we can all acquire through learning AAVE. Having a clear and true
understanding of AAVE (whether one chooses to speak it or not) can have an immensely positive
influence on breaking cultural barriers and racial issues. Within the past 20 years, there has been a
general change on point of view relating to the importance of AAVE in education. Although hip hop
music is often stereotyped with negative connotations, there are many influential songs, raps, poems,
and successful businesspeople in the hip hop music industry. While there is controversy over the
significance of AAVE, it has an admirable history with substantial and interesting language rules.
These rules have aided in breaking cultural barriers both educationally in the classroom,

Analysis Of O Brother Where Art Thou
O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a Coen brothers film that was based on Homer s epic, The Odyssey.
The setting of the movie was during the depression era in Mississippi. The movie s tone, characters,
story, and settings reflect how barren and poor the general populous was after the stock market crash
of 1929. This movie had many themes that warrant analysis. The theme of inequality between the
white and black races was prevalent throughout the movie. Inequality and unfairness within the human

Legal Status of Merit Pay Inasmuch as implementing a merit pay system is not illegal, it can cause
legal concerns. As stated by Pullin (2013), the legal concerns will arise due to how a merit pay system

teacher perceives a school leader does not like them, the controversy will be the ratings are not

Lab Report Biodiversity
INTRODUCTION
Biodiversity presents occurrence of variety of species and their natural community in which they live.
By the definition it is The degree of variation of life forms within a given species, ecosystem, biome,

(Rutherford) Ecosystem is on the other hand, community and its abiotic environment ( Rutherford).
Biodiversity exists in every ecosystem, weather it is big one, or just ecosystem of one garden, it has

This analysis was accomplished utilizing a strengths weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT)

The Hidden Treasure Of History
There was a time where I thought my small hometown of Portage, Pa was nothing more than a few
streets that consisted of churches, small town businesses, and homes that housed only about 2,500
people. After many hours of research I have come to find that this small town is actually a hidden
treasure of history that is far too fascinating to express. Although the town of Portage, Pa is only 125
years old, it is full of rich history that has shaped the Portage we all know today. Portage would not be

the rule it played in the Allegheny Portage railroad. The geography of our town couldn t have been

After a few adjustments to plans the building of the railroad began. The railroad was be completed by
1834 and it would be named the Allegheny Portage Railroad; the word portage is from the French
word porter meaning to carry and Noah Webster defines Portage as carrying something overland from
one body of water to another (Portage Centennial Book Committee, 1990, p.3 4). The Allegheny
Portage railroad would later be added onto the great Pennsylvania railroad that would serve
throughout the whole state. So, first came the railroad and then because of the railroad, the growth of
this new town began.
Because of the railroad being built on this land that was all dense woodland and the steam engines in
this area ran only on wood, the lumbering industry began. Sawmills were build all around the land that
is now today Portage. Then with the new founding of coal, coal mines were also being built. This had
a great economic impact on this land and in the 1860 s and 1870 s settlers began to flood into this
area; most of these settlers were English and German speaking people (Portage Centennial Book
Committee, 1990, p.7 8). During this time there was a town called old Portage and a town next to it
called New Portage. In 1878 the old Portage would be changed to Portage Township and on October

How Did Charles White Influence The Civil Rights Movement
Charles White Jr. was born in Chicago on April 2, 1918 to the parents of Ethel Gary and Charles
White Sr. At a young age, White realized his passion for art and was only fueled more when one day
after school he met art students from the Art Institute of Chicago who taught him how to mix paint.
Not too long after did White begin to skip school because of discrimination and got a job working for
the Regal Theater, meeting many other black artists who influenced him to be an artist; White was
even able to attend a class at the Art Institution. Two years later when he was sixteen, he met many
artists, poets and intellectuals who exposed him to many new ideas at a party and was greatly
impacted by the philosophy New Negro, a term implying a refusal to submit to racial laws and dignity
for black people. He won a full time scholarship at the Art Institute where he joined the Arts and

I feel that as a society we do play a role in the formation of a dangerous sex offender. I find that a
common theme replaying across the histories of various dangerous sex offenders is family instability.
In modern times the family has become more and more isolated. Instead of large families living
together, or near one another, there tends to be large geographical distances in between them. In
addition, people tend to not know or have any involvement with their neighbors further isolating them.
This social isolation seems to be lending a helping hand with the dissolution of the family unit. More

The European Parliament and The Notion of a Common...
European Union remembrance policy
This essay will analyse the policies that the European Parliament has introduced to create and endorse
the notion of a common European historical memory. The main institutions that have dealt with the
issue are the European Council, European Parliament s Committee on Culture and Education and the
Directorate General for Internal Policies.
First I shall discuss the reasons behind the necessity for a historical memory in the European context. I
will then give an overview of current European Union practices on establishing a pan European
historical memory and of the existing political initiatives regarding a common European historical
memory. The main emphasis shall be on the Europe for Citizens ... Show more content on

Since the Eastern Enlargement, efforts to keep history alive are supported in particular by the Europe
for Citizens Programme launched in 2006. The European Commission has extended the programme to
2014 2020 , which was presented in 2011. In the renewed programme, there is a greater focus on
remembrance and hence, a critical European culture of remembrance , rather than a standardised view
on Europe s past, is argued for.
2. The development of the Europe for Citizens Programme and the actors involved
The common European values influence the narrative and the creation of a certain culture of
remembrance. In supranational context, the two memory frameworks dominating official EU
discourses for the creation of a common European historical memory are Nazism and Stalinism. These
two regimes and their policies embody an absolute contrast to the ideals embraced in the European
project: peace, freedom, democracy, the rule of law, human rights, civil liberties and the right to
individual self determination. The aim of remembrance policies is an informed and self critical
European historical memory. This is done with shared European principles and universalised practices
as a basis, while acknowledging the multiplicity of different national pasts at the same time. In other
words, it would not be a homogenisation of the contents of different collective memories, but rather a
Europeanisation of moral and political attitudes and practices

Roles Of Harry Potter And The Basildoter
Snakes and their serpentine kin play important antagonistic roles in the world of Harry Potter. The
Basilisk is the monster in Harry s second annual death courting in Harry Potter and the Chamber of
Secrets. A Freudian analysis sees the battle between Harry and the Basilisk as a sublimation of the
Oedipal Complex. This has been recognized in books such as Classical Myths and Films in the New
Millennium. Jungians also see other archetypes in play around Harry and snakes. However, the
Basilisk was not just another of Harry s trials. The Basilisk imparted much more in Harry s fulfillment
of his story. Harry Potter is almost a trope for Oedipal. Harry has often and clearly been diagnosed
with the Oedipal complex. The elements are similarly often and clearly portrayed throughout the
series. Lily s undying love saves Harry through her own death. It is a transcendent love for her son.
Voldemort had imparted part of his soul onto Harry, which is pivotal to his defeat. Voldemort is a part
progenitor that Harry kills. Even his wife Ginny is portrayed with semblances of Harry s mother. In
accordance to Freudian Theory of Eros Thanatos, the libido is unable to satisfy the Life Drive,
therefore the Death Drive becomes dominant. Harry kills the forbearer that prevents him from
relations with his mother. Then sublimates that continued frustration with marriage and career.
Psychoanalysis is very cut and dry in terms of explanation. In fact, Freudian interpretations pass over

A Wonderful Monograph By Melissa Archer
Introduction
This is a wonderful monograph by Melissa Archer with a comprehensive study of the theme of
worship in the Apocalypse . It illustrates various aspects of worship and the role of worship in the
Apocalypse. The language of the book and different approaches to the theme are appreciated, because
those are simple and clear to understand the theme.
Summary of the book
The context of the book is well organized. Archer divides her text into five chapters, and every chapter
has an introduction and a summery, which is really helpful to read and get the message at the first
glance.
Chapter one is a survey of modern scholarly literature related to the theme of worship in the
Apocalypse. It is divides into four subtopics; A) The theme of worship as a whole, B) The hymns in
the Apocalypse, C) Revelation 4 5, D) Additional worship scenes.
Chapter two is focused on the methodology for the study engaging North American Pentecostalism
and Pentecostal hermeneutics. In this chapter she introduces the term Wirkungsgeschichte ; how to
discover the worship in the Apocalypse.
Chapter three is a careful reading of the early Pentecostal periodical materials. She explains how the
worship practices of early Pentecostals using both the Wesleyan Holiness and the Finished Work
traditions during the time period of 1906 1916.
Chapter four is focused on a sustained narrative reading of the Apocalypse with the theme of worship.
In addition to the prologue and epilogue, there are four

Today, the economic boom and liberalization in China provides a great opportunity for the foreign
companies who want to shift the competition from individual countries to a global level. However,
enter this huge market with what kind of entry mode, remain inconclusive. The choice of entry mode
into the Chinese market for Icebreaker has a major impact on the success of a firm s international
operations. Not only the company will explore a huge potential in China, but also require a big input

Instead, Icebreaker needs to work together with some Brands Consultants in China to promote its
brand name first and let everyone know the New Zealand Icebreaker. Soon after the Chinese get
familiar with the brand, Icebreaker will need to recruit some sale agents such as the outdoor sports
specialist, sport shops and maybe stores or hotels at the tourism site. At this stage, the sales agents will
promote the products and receive feedback from the market. Icebreaker could use this experience to
develop its product and set an appropriate marketing strategy. Once Icebreaker has positioned itself in
the Chinese market, it may attract more investors who want to be the sale representative. At this stage,
the company could recruit them and start some franchising store. The local investors will pay for
setting up those stores and Icebreaker will help to do the renovation and brand promotion. We believe
it is not a good time for Icebreaker opening their own shop when it is still uncertain in the market. It is
also not worth to put money in at beginning. We understand that Icebreaker has its own distribution
team in Australia and USA. However, it is a bit different in operating in China compare that in the
other market. The Chinese market is still developing and with a big different environment. The
Chinese people have a different prescription compare with westerner. To rely on local

enhancing its value through a four pillar strategy and it is this strategy that has been key to the
organisations success in establishing its name firmly in the hospitality industry worldwide. The Four

The Four Seasons also provides full benefits and other perks, in order to further generate employee
satisfaction, productivity and to realize the guests experience. Business Level Strategy The Four
Seasons has developed their business strategy based off the concept of differentiation. They provide
their guests with a unique level of service. Their customer focus is primarily business customers,
corporate groups and leisure customers. Although the hotels generally attract certain clientele the Four
Seasons policy does not allow for discrimination and believes all guests deserve the same exceptional
experience. The company has created a strategy that focuses on four important components. The Four
Seasons concentrates on small to medium sized luxury hotels . This allows hotel management to
effectively operate each hotel and provide the guests with more intimacy. The hotel company also
concentrates on hotel management services instead of hotel ownership. Management service is one of
the Four Seasons main distinctive competencies. The company has established partnerships with
investors who provide the backing for hotel development. The investors receive ownership in the
hotels while the Four Seasons takes sole responsibility for managing the hotels and resorts. Another
component of Four Seasons strategy is their golden rule philosophy. The company

Madison s Federalist no. 10 was written at the time when the US government was small and weak (The Federalist). So the Us government could have been easily toppled by a faction. How have factions caused challenges and animosity in modern day America When factions are brought up in politics people think of the animosity that is created by factions in their pursuit for change. • 3. Analysis Of The Book Black Hearts The book Black Hearts opened my eyes to how leadership from a single Officer can have a grappling effect on such a wide range of soldiers from the lowest of ranks. One of the best takeaways from Black Hearts is to never do anything: illegal, unethical, or immoral. Although this is a easy statement to repeat, Black Hearts demonstrates the difficulties that lie behind these words. It has also painted a picture of how leadership can topple extremely quickly from a top down view. The Army is portrayed in a bad light throughout the book relentlessly. This is due to the concentration of poor leadership of the 1 502nd Regiment (Referred to as First Strike ), a battalion of the 101st Airborne Division. Frederick starts Black Hearts by showing the readers how there was bad tension between the soldiers and their higher leadership prior to their deployment. This internally means that there was no esprit de corps between the 1 502nd. If there is bad blood between the leadership and their men, it is extremely difficult to gain their trust or respect once you are on deployment. Although they are required to follow orders from their higher leadership, they will be obeying out of resentment instead of respect. A lot of the time, first platoon, Bravo Company, 1 502nd Regiment was respecting the rank and not the person. This is a common term in the military, which Frederick brings to light in the book. • 4. Juxtaposing the Most Similar Contradiction in Edgar Allan... Throughout all of Edgar Allan Poe s works are common ideas that oppose each such as madness versus sanity, reality versus the imagined reality and life versus death. Usually these sentiments are taken as contrasting ideas with little similarities to each other, like black and white. However, many of these motifs are situated in the grey category. Poe uses the communal thought pathway to highlight its antithesis; the pathway of grey. With the new pathway, he emphasizes the similarities of the opposing ideas until they meld into one solid grey idea. One without the other is nothing more than absolutely nothing at all. Poe creates the grey to both discredit society s division between black and white and to stress that the first perception is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edgar Allan Poe also used some irony to show the same idea. Hop Frog uses the king s life, in which he lived on jokes, to arrang[e] his last joke, one which the king clamor[s] for, [the one] in which the king dies as stated in the Critical Companion to Edgar Allan Poe (Sova 81). The king s life of jokes is spent, and Hop Frog s jokes have a deathly ring to the king. The irony again illustrates how intertwined the two opposites are. Irony is also present in the short story Masque of the Red Death to highlight the connection between life and death in a different way. The theme within Masque of Red Death is presented in the opposite way, instead of showing that life needs death, it displays that life cannot escape death. In this story, the nobles of an area attempt to escape the effects of the sickness the Red Death, all the while allowing death easy pickings. While, for some time the people are able to isolate themselves from death, the personified character of death makes an anticipated visit. At the arrival of the masked man, who has the visage of a corpse, the characters have begun to understand that death had come to get them at last. In the story, death is synonymous with the outside as proposed by Martin Roth in his article in the University of Wisconsin Journals. Roth describes the Red Death as an invader from the outside solidifying the idea that escape is futile (Roth 50). Had death been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Rise Of Self Service Machines Marx and Technology Karl Marx s theories were written in the 19th century, it is debated whether they are applicable to the issues of modern society. This essay seeks to explore the key ideas of Marx and apply them to the chosen contemporary concern of the rise of self service machines. Primarily it will give an in depth description of his idea of human nature and the key ideas surrounding Marxist theory. Secondly, it will explain the current issue and argue the rise of technology through the eyes of Marx by relating to his main concepts. Marx s views on human nature make up the philosophical element of his ideas. He believed human beings define themselves primarily through their labouring activity. Labour is therefore what they live for, it defines human beings and also performs functions by connecting them to their existence. This is achieved in three senses which Marx outlined (Morrison, 2006). Firstly individuals exert control over nature which makes them active in history, rather than passive. Secondly, labour provides the necessities a human requires to live, without it they would have no food, shelter or clothing and would not exist. Thirdly Marx believed labour allows an individual to define themselves. Through labour humans feel in control of their survival and are confirmed in their own existence (Morrison, p. 120). The essence of the individual is labour, it is central to human development. Humans still hold the power of creativity but the nature of the capitalist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spanning all fifty states, the photographers produced more than 175,000 black and white negatives, crafting one of the most immense and important photographic compositions in American history. Created by the federal government, the photography project spanned several government agencies, from the Resettlement Administration, the Farm Security Administration, and the Office of War Information. Although the photographic program of the Farm Security Administration was initially aimed at supporting the New Deal, the images produced had far more reaching sociological and cultural impacts, all the while redefining the art of photography. Ever since the camera was invented in 1839, the very nature of photography has been questioned. With the increasing advent of photographic technology, photography has become an egalitarian expression of society and community. With one press of a button, an image is captured for eternity, bringing to question the inherent artistic quality of photographs. If we can so quickly capture an image, can this be deemed art? The various stereotypes that developed during the slave trade were based on preconceived notions held by Europeans and were later used to subjugate Black people. The Jezebel stereotype, for example, stems from Europeans first encounter with Black women and depicts Black women as having a voracious sexual appetite. It developed because Europeans perceived the semi nudity of some tribes, which was required because of specific climates, as lewd. This stereotype, which attributed the polygamist practices of certain tribes to lust and misconstrued tribal dances as orgies, was used to label Black women as sexually promiscuous and immoral. During the era of slavery, as the notion proliferated through society, it was used to justify the rape of female slaves by their white masters. Through European expansion, colonizers and explorers frequently interacted with ethnic groups and attributed specific practices to different groups. Rather than learning about the cultures of the groups they encountered, Europeans chose to generalize based off their observations. The stereotype of the savage African which depicts Africans as primitive, simple, childlike, and/or cannibalistic individuals who live in tribes, carry spears, and believe in witchcraft developed because of observations made by various European explorers who did not understand the intricacies of African culture and misconstrued the various tribes as one. As time progressed, the stereotypes became cemented in and proliferated across the globe. When Pip first encounters the convict, the appearance of him scares Pip out of his mind. The man threatens Pip to bring him a few items otherwise he will go after his family. He also tells Pip to not tell a soul about him or he will be hurt as well. What Pip fails to realize is that the convict is cold, as he has been soaked in water (10), and hungry, which was made clear when he ate the bread ravenously (11). Introduction With the proliferation of fracking in the United States and its impact on so many different aspects of society from environmental to health and economic impact, it is an important topic that demands more research and along with more community awareness. Another aspect of fracking that is discussed much less than the environmental and public health aspects is that the people that benefit most from the fracking industry usually white affluent individuals do not live in the area that drilling process or waste disposal process happens (Johnston, J. j., Werder, E., Sebastian, D. It has been shown how persistent opinions from elites and media messages can sway public opinion in whichever direction they choose (Davis, C., Fisk, J. M. (2014). This paper demonstrates how the fracking industry not only poisons the environment it poisons communities through creating conflict and negative public health issues. I have heard a lot of social loafing happening in group projects from my friends, and I think it is natural to have one. One of the main reasons why Socialism failed is because people didn t do their assigned job as they were all sharing the outcome. People tend to work a lot less when the task is not their own responsibility. However, with the competition against other teams, the reward that the professor offered, and limited time and resources, our group members did their job ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Participants reported that undergoing training and taking security seriously reduced unauthorized disclosures. Arachchilage and Love (2014) confirmed the need for information security training. The researchers suggested that personnel have an insufficient amount of both knowledge and training to mitigate threats related to information security. For instance, organizations attempt to counter information security threats by publishing organizational policies and conducting periodic information security training that assist in the mitigation efforts to thwart threats such as fraud, viruses, malware, spyware, and social engineering attacks (Arachchilage Love, 2014; Chen, Ramamurthy, Wen, 2015; Singh et al., 2013). Aloul (2012) supports the reiteration for information security training. An aspect of securing organizational data and information in the public school system brings about the need for information security awareness and training due to increases in security incidents (Aloul, 2012). In addition, Aloul (2012) added that a method for mitigating and combating the unauthorized release of PII is the training and education of users in the arena of information security. Trinkle et al. The only mistake that came from this discovery was that the doctors never even tried to consult with Henrietta on the whereabouts of her tissues. Stress And The Immune System Essay Stress And The Immune System The immune system is a very important part of our bodily functions as its main function is to protect the body against millions of antigens, which attack our cells and try to reproduce viruses and diseases. The immune system can protect the body in three different ways, in which are: 1. It creates a barrier that prevents the antigens from initially entering the body. 2. If the antigens do manage to enter the body, then your immune system will try to detect the virus and abolish it before it begins to spread. 3. If the virus does reproduce and begins to cause problems, your immune system is then responsible for eliminating it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of that, studies have been focusing on the use of PC fluorescence properties to identify PC in vivo, since it is excited in lower wavelengths (between 590 630nm regions of the visible spectrum) and it is emitted around 650nm (Gregor et al., 2007). Therefore, the monitoring of PC using in vivo fluorimeters can provide a quick response for the risk assessment and management of cyanotoxins in freshwaters. In the renewed programme, there is a greater focus on remembrance and hence, a critical European culture of remembrance , rather than a standardised view on Europe s past, is argued for. 2. The development of the Europe for Citizens Programme and the actors involved The common European values influence the narrative and the creation of a certain culture of remembrance. In supranational context, the two memory frameworks dominating official EU discourses for the creation of a common European historical memory are Nazism and Stalinism. These two regimes and their policies embody an absolute contrast to the ideals embraced in the European project: peace, freedom, democracy, the rule of law, human rights, civil liberties and the right to individual self determination.
