The State Of Lying By William Shakespeare
The state of lying is a convincing art that not many people can pull off effectively. There are different
factors that have to be taken into account in order to consider something as a good lie. In a text, 3
factors that make up a convincing lie are the character and their traits, the situation involved and how
persuasive they are. Speech is a thing of beauty as it can be manipulated in many ways to get people to
believe you. A character s traits allow a person to observe their behavior and how they are able to
manipulate the language. Odysseus is able to use his cunning to manipulate the language into his favor
making the suitors believe that he is indeed a beggar. It s his traits of being wise and cunning that
allows the suitors to fall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The person s ability to sway the language in their way against their opponent allows them to
manipulate their minds. There are always liars throughout many texts but what separate them from the
exceptional liars are these factors. A character is often considered strong or weak based on the
language and behavior during the epic or story. That same language along with the person s traits, can
determine whether that character is a great liar or not. In the Odyssey, Odysseus goes to great lengths
to lie and deceive the suitors into thinking he s a beggar. During the fight against the beggar Odysseus
downplays the whole situation by stating Friends, how can an old man, worn down with pain, stand to
a young buck? Its just this belly of mine, this troublemaker, tempts to take a licking. (Od.377.60 63).
Odysseus lie sets up how shrewd he is, allowing the beggar king to believe that he could take on
Odysseus with ease. Odysseus uses his wisdom brilliantly by trying to obtain some sympathy making
him fight someone who is beyond younger then he is. Odysseus knows his character and how wise he
is which allows him to use that to his advantage. He uses his physical appearance as a beggar to
convince the suitors of how poor he was that he needed to beg. Another character who uses their traits
to their advantage is the daughter of Zeus, Helen. Helen, who is the wife of King Menelaus, is the
main point as to why the Trojan war even begun. Her disappearance caused King Menelaus

Abstract
With the increasing dependency on wireless networks, the need for proper reliability analysis for
Mobile ad hoc networks (Manets) is also increasing. Failure of Manets in areas like warfare, nuclear
reactors, medical equipment and airplanes can lead to catastrophe. Unlike traditional networks,
measuring the reliability of Manets is a tedious task as it involves dynamically changing topology. The
existing methods for calculating reliability use two terminal analysis as the basis for calculation. It
uses the same method used for traditional computer networks to calculate reliability. However, the
method is not very efficient when it comes to the wireless networks as they are far different from
traditional networks. It is also a time consuming task to identify all the nodes and links in a wireless
network as nodes move freely in the network. In This paper, We are going to discuss about NLN(Node
Link Node) technique which reduces the complexity of analyzing the reliability in Manets.
Keywords: Manet, NodeLinkNode, Reliability.
INTRODUCTION:
The Mobile ad hoc networks is one of the emerging technologies today. The instability of the nodes in
a mobile ad hoc network makes it difficult to calculate the reliability of the network. When a node

Racial Politics And The Race Cycle Model Essay
It has been centuries since slavery ended across Latin America and the United States, yet racial issues
continue to plague these countries. Since manumission, the concept of race has evolved through the
meaning societies have given it. While the idea of race is merely conceptual it has significant social
and political effects. More specifically, through racial politics, these countries have been able to
incorporate race in their agendas and implement racial politics in their laws and policies in such a way
that perpetuates racial ideologies. One of the methods used to understand the role of racial politics and
its effect on racial ideologies and vice versa is the race cycle model. The purpose of the race cycle
model is to demonstrate how racial ideologies are improved, worsened, or maintained, but fails to
explain how the cycle can lead to multiple, asymmetrical outcomes as depicted by the racial politics of
Haiti and the responses of other Latin American and the United States following the Haitian
Revolution.
The race cycle model begins with what Sawyer (2006) calls the old equilibrium. This old equilibrium
represents the status quo surrounding the racial politics and ideologies in a state. In the old
equilibrium, Haiti was formerly a French colony known as Saint Domingue on the island of
Hispaniola. Throughout this period, Saint Domingue was a major plantation zone and France s
wealthiest overseas colony, exporting, Over 80,000 tons of sugar , among other cash crops

MLA Research Paper Savagery, Power And Fear And how it s ties in with Lord Of The Flies
Young children who are left unattended will slowly loose their civilization, which will turn into,
Savagery, Power, and Fear. Civilization is when man meets his basic needs in a healthy manner.
Savagery is when people revert back to their lost human instincts. Power, in the case of Lord Of the
Flies it s a position of ascendancy over others: AUTHORITY. Fear is an unpleasant often strong
emotion caused by expectation or awareness of danger.
Lord of the Flies shows a great amount of uncivilization through out the whole novel. Through all the
characters for example when the boys create the Lord of The flies, which is the bloody, severed ...

As the boys grow more savage, their belief in the beast grows stronger. By the end of the novel, the
boys behavior is what brings the beast into existences, so the more savagely they act, the more real the
beast seems to become. ( Sparknotes, Themes, Motifs and Symbols). Jack one of the young boys who
were stranded on the island is very savage, for example when Jack cannot bare the thought of
someone else telling his story about how he killed a pig, he begins, we spread round. I crept. On hands
and knees. The spears fell out because they hadn t no barbs on. The pig ran away and made an awful
noise it turned back and ran into the circle, bleeding we closed in I cut the pigs throat. (Golding 79).
Jack had reverted back to uncivilized ways because his civilization had been shattered because of
being stranded on the island. Jack even gets the rest of the boys to join in dancing around the fire as
they were cooking the meet from the pig they were saying kill the pig. Cut her throat. Bash her in. (
Golding 79). Savagery can destroy civilization. It only takes one person to become uncivilized and the
others will slowly follow after. But on the other hand is it only children who become savages when
left unattended or can young people who have grown up in good neutering homes become savages, the
answer is yes according to an article called In Harms way, One in three Canadian girls will experience

You Are Too Much Of A Risk Taker The people who always bet on the outsiders tend to be the ones

The generalization of crime and violence in Jane and Finch has earned the neighbourhood a negative
reputation. The media s depiction of the area is a community corrupted by: violence, drugs, gangs and
poverty. This has left an undesirable image of suffering, as a result of living in the Jane Finch
community. Society has deemed the community an unsafe place to live and grow up in. The media s

Jane and Finch has been labelled a bad community, driven by: gang wars, drugs and gun violence.
Many Torontonians avoid the community in fear of being physically harmed. This is due to the media
s generalization of crime and violence within the Jane and Finch. They only portray the negative
events that occur within the communities boarders. But, Jane and Finch has shown remarkable
improvement. Criminal activity has continuously dropped in recent years. For example: assault
occurrences dropped from 418 in 2008 to 299 in 2011, breaking and entering incidents dropped from
193 in 2007 to 84 in 2011, stolen vehicles declined 145 in 2006 to 37 in 2011. The media makes Jane
and Finch seem like the most dangerous place in Toronto. However, other communities within the
Greater Toronto Area have higher criminal rate compared to Jane and Finch. A prime example would
be the West Humber Clairville community, with 390 reported assaults in 2011, 175 breaking and
entering incidents in 2011 and 288 stolen vehicles in 2011. The West Humber Clairville community
had higher crime activity in every category than Jane and finch, and not only them other communities
as well, such as: Bay Street, Yorkdale Glen Park, etc. The media s constant exposure of crime within
the Jane Finch community have made it seem like the worst place in Toronto, but, in reality other

Human Computer Interaction ( Hci ) Essay
Emotion is a distinguishing feature of human beings. It is not because other beings cannot express
emotions, but we are good at grasping emotions of our fellow beings. Emotions play an important role
in the decisions we make in our day to day lives. We express emotions in almost everything we do,
such as; we express anger when we face atrocities, we express sadness when we hear news of demise,
and we express happiness when we get what we want. Further, emotions are not just limited to our
personal lives. In fact, conservatively, we express emotions in our professional life as well. Likewise,
technology plays an irrefutable role in our lives. Our dependency on technology has increased over the
years, and at times, we feel its intrusiveness as well (Grint Woolgar, 1997). We are depending more
and more on the technology and further, we are hoping the technology to sense us and understand us
better, in order to serve us well. Human Computer Interaction (HCI) has emerged as a field to
understand and contribute more to the interaction between technology and humans. The adaptable and
interdisciplinary nature of HCI has spawned multidimensional topics. For instance, to understand the
collaborative nature between the machine and humans, mixed initiative systems emerged. To sense
and ease work of the human beings, intelligent systems came into existence. Affective computing field

Determining The Success Of A Restaurant Business
The menu is the fundamental element in determining the success of a restaurant business. Each
customer may have their individual dietary preferences, but the basis of a menu depends on universal
requirements in human nature. A human is intrinsically an omnivore with a diet of both meat and plant
proteins. The omnivore s paradox or dilemma refers to the contradiction of omnivores having both the
sense of neophilia, the inclination and craving for exploration and variation but at the same time
limited by neophobia, the fear of the uncertainty of a food s edibility. The incorporation principle
referring to how a food effects a person physically and psychologically. Understanding how the
omnivore s paradox works and how the incorporation principle influences customers will help chefs
putting together a menu create something that caters to a wide range of customers and dietary
requirements. The omnivore s paradox raises the issue of how a chef can create a menu that is both
interesting and sellable, catering to the balance of mankind s fear of danger and need of novelty, and
how the dishes they produce can meet and exceed the customer s expectations. This essay will explain
the omnivore s paradox, its relationship to neophilia and neophobia, and their influence on a
commercial chef. The incorporation principle will be explained in relation to a customer s decision
making. It will also cover how the omnivore s paradox and incorporation principle effects the

though it can be accessed by walking near a building. Wireless signals are easy too pickup especially
with a cellular device but it is usually password but still can access from intruders. But there are many
way of preventing these hackers from entering in which will be explained later. Also for Mobile

each served by a fixed transmitter, and for both wireless and mobile networks, they have the
advantage of mobility, flexibility, ease of installation, and low cost. But some drawbacks for both
systems include Limited Throughput, Limited Range, in building penetration problems, vulnerability,
and lastly security.

Aging Population
To a large extent, current research and development and government policies have helped to ease the
aging process. Discuss this statement in relation to your particular field of study or interest (e.g.
economics, science, medicine, social policy, architecture, psychology, technological inventions).
Population ageing is both a triumph and a challenge (Lim, 2008). With the advances in economics and
medical development as well as better health systems, Singaporeans now are having longer life
expectancy than they used to have in the past. Current research has shown that Singapore is one of the
fastest ageing populations among Asia. However, the drop in birth rates over the past years has

The health care system within the country has been upgraded to cater to the seniors. This is to provide
a complete and affordable health care system for the elderly. These care systems or places can be
easily accessed, afforded and directed to many different needs faced by the elderly. For example,
building more hospitals so that they can be easily accessible and topping up of the Medisave accounts,
when there is a surplus, for the less well off Singaporeans as the priority (Sadasivan and Osman,
2006).
Research has shown that most seniors will want to live independently. By enabling ageing in place
(Lee, 2009), the government improves the infrastructures, such as the Housing Development Board
(HDB) buildings, and public transport system. These improvements will enable them to move around
freely and easily and they will find it easier to gain ace to public amenities with the elderly friendly
transport system.
From the researches done, it can be seen that the problem of ageing is a norm for economic developed
countries. The shift in age structure will have an effect on the country s economy. However, this
problem can be solved by having policies that benefit both the elderly as well as the country. We are
crafting new policies, improving our infrastructure and developing effective programs to enable older
citizens to lead full and happy lives (Lee, 2009). The government ensures

The Filipino Culture
Filipinos are the second largest Asian group in the United States. In the past data has been hard to
obtain about Filipino Americans, primarily because of inconsistences in coding race and ethnicity in
research projects. Demographics of Filipino Americans did not start being properly recorded until the
early twentieth century, when the Filipino Islands became part of the United States territory. Even with
the limited data, they have gathered enough information on the Filipino culture. Filipino American
beliefs differ drastically from that of Americans, such as their culture, health rituals and religious
practices that may make healthcare more difficult (Dela Cruz, 2010).
Studies of the Filipino American health practices show that Filipinos who reside in a rural area are
more knowledgeable in home remedies, super natural ailments, traditional healing techniques, where
those from urban areas rely more on Western Medicine and over the counter drugs. In both settings,
indigenous folk and western medicine is used simultaneously. A popular self medication among these
groups is Chinese hot/cold application system (Pasma), and Chinese oils which sometimes perceived
as a remedy to all ailments such as headaches, dizziness, relaxing, or the common cold. If home
remedies do not work, many seek a local healer who uses treatments which includes roots and herbs.

Princess Andromeda Research Paper
My Favorite Constellation Andromeda
The Andromeda Constellation is located in the northern hemisphere, it can be seen at latitudes
between +90°and 40° and is best visible at 9 p.m. during the month of November. The constellation is,
also, home to the Andromeda Galaxy, that resides 2,5 light years from earth. This constellation is
beyond complex, for the myth that names it, as well for being next doors neighbors with it s galaxy,
thus my interest in it.
The constellation was named after Princess Andromeda, also known as The Chained Woman wich is,
too, the nickname of the own constellation . Andromeda was known for her beauty, and her mom one
day claimed that she was even more beautiful then the Nereids, a particularly alluring group of sea
nymphs. The Nereids were outraged by the affirmation and decided to ask Poseidon, the God of The
Seas to give her a lesson. Poseidon then send a monster to destroy Andomedra s father s territory, and
Andomedra decided to sacrifice herself to pay for the sins of her mother, and then was given chained
to Poseidon to die. The story goes on, and it ends with Perseus the son of Poseidon saving her, but that

Beta Risk Analysis
Nearly all investors look to beta as a way of feeling out the risk of a stock or fund. Put simply, beta
measures volatility, or the tendency to swing up and down, as compared to a benchmark. Fund
managers that take a bullish stance on the short term horizon may actively stock up on high beta
equities to drive up returns. Controlling beta becomes an obsession for managers; and after they get
the balance just right, they feel confident and reassured in their risk profile. Menchero, Nagy, and
Singh concentrate on three estimates of beta to test the accuracy of the measure overall. The first,
naive beta, makes a gross simplification that all stocks have a beta of 1. Second, the historical beta can

When charted across the largest financial institutions during the 2008 Financial Crisis, it delivers great
results. It would have targeted Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Morgan Stanley, Bear Stearns, and Lehman

first quarter of 2005, making it a promising predictive tool. Such a risk measurement instrument can
be useful for firms of all sizes: from medium to large scale funds, to the largest institutional
investment houses.
Danielsson and De Vries explain how predictions of low probability, worst case outcomes are
extremely poor using Value at Risk. These, importantly, are the most influential events that deserve the
most attention. Such a blind spot is unacceptable. As such, they offer an alternative: an extreme value

better in locating the depths of a negative shock. It charts tails according to particular parametric

the distribution of stock market returns. Moreover, it more closely mimics the actual returns of the
market.

What Is Stop And Frisk
What is stop and frisk? Who uses stop and frisk? According to Haq stop and frisk is a program that
enables a police officer to stop, question, and frisk a person for weapons (1). This means that a police
officer can only search someone if they possess reasonable suspicion and follow their guidelines.
People should have open ideas of ways of reducing gun violence and not closing before hearing the
proposals. People say that stop and frisk promote racial profiling and that it invades one s privacy
rights. Police officer are human being and make mistakes because no one is perfect in this Earth. Gun
violence has been a main subject now a day, where you hear it on the news about a school shooting.
Stop and frisk are an effective way to bring down crime rates in one s city yet some people may think
otherwise and think it s not acceptable. The practice of stop and frisk is necessary to protect the people
and to be capable to reduce crime off the streets; without it crime rates like gun violence would
increase drastically. In James Q. Wilson essay Just Take Away Their Guns he argues that restraining
citizens from purchasing guns legally don t have any effect on those who purchase firearms illegally.
For example legal constraints on the lawful purchase of guns will have little effect on the illegal use of
guns (Wilson 125). Wilson is saying that it will be tough to find the illegal firearms purchased and
people would always find a way to buy guns illegally. There is no way the

Day 0: Background and Mission Start It is February here on Earth. The year is 2071. Humans have
long abandoned the idea of completely colonizing Mars. Instead, they have decided to build outposts
in space much like the European explorers in the 16th century, on route to China for trade to protect
the motherland s trade route from enemies and refuel ships. About 10 years ago, scientists began
building an outpost on Mars a few miles from Gale Crater. Robots are maintaining the facility, but
their hands are not quite suited for wiring the base. Thus, NASA deemed it necessary to send humans
to Mars to get the base running for future missions on an improved version of NASA s Orion
spacecraft. The Orion spacecraft ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Book The Pursuit Of A Romance
The Pursuit to Discover
A.S. Byatt s Possession: A Romance establishes itself as a postmodern university novel because it
centers on the field of research and academia development through a campus setting. Roland Mitchell,
the protagonist of the story, is a postdoctoral and literary researcher who is more focused on academia
than job prospects, fixing his crumbling relationship with his girlfriend Val, and overall taking part in
mandatory obligations such as household contribution, that primarily falls on Val. The audience is
introduced to Roland as he studies: The London Library was Roland s favourite place. It was shabby
but civilised, alive with history but inhabited also by living poets and thinkers who could be found
squatting on the slotted metal floors of the stacks, or arguing pleasantly at the turning of the stair (4).
The novel centers on Roland s discovery of two letters written by fictional Victorian poets, Randolph
Henry Ash and Christabel LaMotte. Roland prides and invests the majority of his time to research and
decoding these letters, in hopes of pursing a top academic standing in his field. Possession focuses on
the themes of history, academic pursuit, and the downfalls of an obsession.
Foremost, in order to classify Possession as university novel, one must first understand what a
university novel is. In J.J. William s terms: Campus novels tend to revolve around campus life and
present young adult comedies or dramas, most frequently coming of age

Deutsche Brauerei Case
Deutche Brauerei is a family run German Beer Company. It is owned entirely by 16 uncles, aunts, and
cousins from the Schweitzer family. The Schweitzers are brewers, not marketers or finance people, so
they have hired Oleg Pinchuk to help with the marketing aspects and Greta Schweitzer, Lukas
Schweitzer s niece, to give financial expertise. The company s agenda includes: approval of the 2001
financial budget, declaration of the quarterly dividend, and adoption of a compensation scheme for
Oleg Pinchuk. Greta also wants to study the company s reliance on debt financing and whether or not

In conclusion, I would accept the financial plan if the changes to the dividend payout and Pinchuk s
compensation were made. It may also be wise to slightly lower the projected sales in the Ukraine since
I do not recommend the expansion. It is my hope that with more focus on the distributors the company

decrease and our liquidity will increase or remain the same if we decrease the speed of our

Artificiality In William Gibson s Neuromancer
Science Fiction provokes the audience to question their values as they are invited to a futuristic
society which resembles our modern world. Science Fiction serves as a speculative fiction based on
the composer s concerns towards modern society as referenced through William Gibson s statement It
s a way of trying to come to terms with the awe and terror inspired in me by the world in which we
live . The fundamental values of morality and humanity have been replaced by greed and human kind
s obsession to play the role of God through science and technology. This is demonstrated through
Gibson s Neuromancer where the composer reflects Science Fiction conventions within his
composition. Gibson explores the subgenre cyberpunk in examining the ... Show more content on

Everything within this world is manufactured and lacks the sensory experience of things in the natural
world. The use of onomatopoeia She d reached out and touched this, her artificial nails clicking
against the Lexan sandwich protecting the broken glass , emphasises the absence of sensory
experience towards natural elements due to the reliability towards artificiality. The absence of nature
and artificiality suggests that society has ruined, damaged and completely destroyed natural resources.
This is demonstrated in the visual imagery The sky above the port was the colour of television, tuned
to a dead channel , where technology plays an essential role within Neuromancer society, that they
neglect natural elements. The world has now turned to medical intervention, technology and Science
to preserve life through artificial means. Gibson assesses the use of technology within society, setting
limitation of the extent of reliability towards science and technology, ensuring that it doesn t intervene
with morals and ethics. The people in this society are fixated on extending their lives through a
medical intervention such as the replacement of limbs. This obsession is best represented in the
characterisation of Julius Deane, Julius Deane was one hundred and thirty five years old, his
metabolism assiduously warped by a weekly fortune in serums and hormones... genetic surgeons reset
the code of his DNA . Greed for money has replaced God, ethics and natural order. Attaining and
preserving status and wealth has become their priority/ God and they are willing to do anything illegal
to acquire it. In this society everyone follows the same way of living to survive, without care for
others or for a higher being. This leads to an absence of a real connection between nature and people.
The relationships between people are superficial and lack emotional

Pericles Funeral Oration Essay
Pericles of the Funeral Oration outlines his ideal of Athens, and what makes an Athenian, which was
his ideal person. Plato in the Apology, Crito, and the Phaedo describes the trial and execution of
Socrates. Athens after the second Peloponnesian War is cling to an unstable democracy, and extremely
fearful of anything that threatens their way of life. Pericles would view this Athens as a shell of its
former self. This can be best seen through the trial and execution of Socrates. Socrates could be
described as the ideal Athenian, he strove to make Athens and its people better, yet he was executed
for having different ideas. Pericles given the opportunity to evaluate Athens and Socrates, during this
time, could make the argument that Socrates is akin to his ideal of Athens and that Athens, as it stood,
was more closely related to Sparta. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had suffered defeat in the second Peloponnesian War and were grappling with the struggle of
stabilizing their fragile democracy. They believed that something like political philosophy could
destabilize Athens beyond repair. This is part of what drove them to execute Socrates. Socrates was
brought up on charges of corrupting the youth, making the worse argument better, and teaching things
of the earth and the sky. During the trial, Socrates had every justification, but in the end, it was not
enough to save his life. Socrates argues that the laws are intended to make Athenians better people and
that if an old man wandering around asking questions can corrupt the youth, then what sort of youth
must they be. He argues that if Athens is so unstable that they cannot withstand questions then they are

Criminology And Sociology And Criminology
Where the Two Meet
Criminology is where criminal justice and Sociology meet and come together. Sociology is a social
science where the study of the development, structure, and functioning of human society happen.
Criminology is also a social science that studies crime and criminal behavior. Sociologists, by
studying society and relationships, are able to determine the thoughts and actions of individuals or
criminals. Each science can relate to other sciences and Criminology relates to Psychology, Sociology
and more. Sociology and Criminology both contribute to society. Every day were faced with new and
bigger issues and as Sociologists, it is up to them to understand why and figure out the issues at hand

Another social issue that is a problem with in society today would be opinions. People are allowed to
have a difference of opinion. We are all able to believe different and not think the same and still live in
harmony. There needs to be an understanding and respect in difference of opinions. On the other hand,
Criminology is about the crime and criminals in society. It involves law enforcement and the criminal
justice system. Criminal justice and Criminology are related fields, but are not the same things.
Criminal justice focuses more on upholding social control and Criminology is the study of the crimes
and criminals. Whereas, both are just as important. Criminology, with the help of other social sciences,
go deep within the criminal and the crime to get to the bottom of what they are thinking, what has
made them do it, why they did it, what is next, and also how to stop it and how to prevent it from
happening again. Criminology also deals with issues in the field. Some of these issues involving

Strategic Planning For The House Business Office
The need for strategic planning in the House Business Office is due to the rapidly changing
technology industry. Every year, and most likely sooner than that, new or updated technology changes
the way we conduct business. New technology makes us more efficient, which results in spending less
money on old practices so that we can then put those funds towards future projects to aide in the
betterment of the agency. Currently, Representative s offices are allowed to decorate their offices in
any manner they please. The only stipulation to this is the Carpenter shop employees must make all
modifications. These modifications could be as simple as hanging a picture, or as complicated as
mounting a television. As of now the Representatives offices contact the carpenters and request that
these items be completed immediately, causing disruption in their daily duties. My suggestion is to
have a system that the offices can submit a request online, and within an hour that office will have a
timeframe that the request will be completed. By doing this the carpenters can plan around all of the
requests and not be bombarded with requests and their daily duties all at once. The actors that would
be involved in the strategic plan would be: the Business Office Director, the Head Carpenter, and the
Director and Deputy Director of Information Systems. The role of the Business Director is to sign off
on all aspects of the project. He would review all necessary items and either approve or

Analysis Of Both Flesh And Not By David Foster Wallace
Both Flesh And Not, written by David Foster Wallace is an essay written as a childhood fairytale in a
metaphorical way to introduce and illustrate Wallace s ideas. A gallant knight risks his life fighting the
dragon, who is protecting the castle, to get what he wants, which is the fair maiden also known as a
good looking virgin . Is that what the essay is really about? No, Wallace specifically uses this to
comment on and represent the AIDS crisis, the way he observed it. The gallant knight, referring to
men, desires sex and is willing to risk their life and take the chance of contracting AIDS. Although,
Wallace does specify men towards the beginning of the essay, towards the end, he broadens his idea
from just men, to include everyone with sexual desire and sexuality as part of human nature. Wallace s
intentions in the piece is used by engaging the audience to bring awareness to society about the sexual
choices people made and its consequences, the views of AIDS in a positive perspective, and to show
that sex is natural in human life.
Primarily, Wallace brings awareness to society about the sexual choices people made and their
consequences. In some cases, those consequences included HIV and AIDS. The thought of a person
contracting HIV or AIDS, appeals to a person s emotions and value, due to the fact it affects a person
long term, is also an example of pathos. Wallace utterance, ....regard HIV as a sort of test of our
generation s sexual mettle; these guys now

  • 3. The State Of Lying By William Shakespeare The state of lying is a convincing art that not many people can pull off effectively. There are different factors that have to be taken into account in order to consider something as a good lie. In a text, 3 factors that make up a convincing lie are the character and their traits, the situation involved and how persuasive they are. Speech is a thing of beauty as it can be manipulated in many ways to get people to believe you. A character s traits allow a person to observe their behavior and how they are able to manipulate the language. Odysseus is able to use his cunning to manipulate the language into his favor making the suitors believe that he is indeed a beggar. It s his traits of being wise and cunning that allows the suitors to fall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The person s ability to sway the language in their way against their opponent allows them to manipulate their minds. There are always liars throughout many texts but what separate them from the exceptional liars are these factors. A character is often considered strong or weak based on the language and behavior during the epic or story. That same language along with the person s traits, can determine whether that character is a great liar or not. In the Odyssey, Odysseus goes to great lengths to lie and deceive the suitors into thinking he s a beggar. During the fight against the beggar Odysseus downplays the whole situation by stating Friends, how can an old man, worn down with pain, stand to a young buck? Its just this belly of mine, this troublemaker, tempts to take a licking. (Od.377.60 63). Odysseus lie sets up how shrewd he is, allowing the beggar king to believe that he could take on Odysseus with ease. Odysseus uses his wisdom brilliantly by trying to obtain some sympathy making him fight someone who is beyond younger then he is. Odysseus knows his character and how wise he is which allows him to use that to his advantage. He uses his physical appearance as a beggar to convince the suitors of how poor he was that he needed to beg. Another character who uses their traits to their advantage is the daughter of Zeus, Helen. Helen, who is the wife of King Menelaus, is the main point as to why the Trojan war even begun. Her disappearance caused King Menelaus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Analysis Of Reliability Calculations On Mobile Ad Hoc... Analysis of Reliability Calculations in Mobile Ad hoc Networks Sai Charan Goud Kolanu, Tejaswi Reddy Karemma Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science California State University, Long Beach Abstract With the increasing dependency on wireless networks, the need for proper reliability analysis for Mobile ad hoc networks (Manets) is also increasing. Failure of Manets in areas like warfare, nuclear reactors, medical equipment and airplanes can lead to catastrophe. Unlike traditional networks, measuring the reliability of Manets is a tedious task as it involves dynamically changing topology. The existing methods for calculating reliability use two terminal analysis as the basis for calculation. It uses the same method used for traditional computer networks to calculate reliability. However, the method is not very efficient when it comes to the wireless networks as they are far different from traditional networks. It is also a time consuming task to identify all the nodes and links in a wireless network as nodes move freely in the network. In This paper, We are going to discuss about NLN(Node Link Node) technique which reduces the complexity of analyzing the reliability in Manets. Keywords: Manet, NodeLinkNode, Reliability. INTRODUCTION: The Mobile ad hoc networks is one of the emerging technologies today. The instability of the nodes in a mobile ad hoc network makes it difficult to calculate the reliability of the network. When a node moves freely move in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Racial Politics And The Race Cycle Model Essay It has been centuries since slavery ended across Latin America and the United States, yet racial issues continue to plague these countries. Since manumission, the concept of race has evolved through the meaning societies have given it. While the idea of race is merely conceptual it has significant social and political effects. More specifically, through racial politics, these countries have been able to incorporate race in their agendas and implement racial politics in their laws and policies in such a way that perpetuates racial ideologies. One of the methods used to understand the role of racial politics and its effect on racial ideologies and vice versa is the race cycle model. The purpose of the race cycle model is to demonstrate how racial ideologies are improved, worsened, or maintained, but fails to explain how the cycle can lead to multiple, asymmetrical outcomes as depicted by the racial politics of Haiti and the responses of other Latin American and the United States following the Haitian Revolution. The race cycle model begins with what Sawyer (2006) calls the old equilibrium. This old equilibrium represents the status quo surrounding the racial politics and ideologies in a state. In the old equilibrium, Haiti was formerly a French colony known as Saint Domingue on the island of Hispaniola. Throughout this period, Saint Domingue was a major plantation zone and France s wealthiest overseas colony, exporting, Over 80,000 tons of sugar , among other cash crops ... • 9. Human Computer Interaction ( Hci ) Essay Emotion is a distinguishing feature of human beings. It is not because other beings cannot express emotions, but we are good at grasping emotions of our fellow beings. Emotions play an important role in the decisions we make in our day to day lives. We express emotions in almost everything we do, such as; we express anger when we face atrocities, we express sadness when we hear news of demise, and we express happiness when we get what we want. Further, emotions are not just limited to our personal lives. In fact, conservatively, we express emotions in our professional life as well. Likewise, technology plays an irrefutable role in our lives. Our dependency on technology has increased over the years, and at times, we feel its intrusiveness as well (Grint Woolgar, 1997). We are depending more and more on the technology and further, we are hoping the technology to sense us and understand us better, in order to serve us well. Human Computer Interaction (HCI) has emerged as a field to understand and contribute more to the interaction between technology and humans. The adaptable and interdisciplinary nature of HCI has spawned multidimensional topics. For instance, to understand the collaborative nature between the machine and humans, mixed initiative systems emerged. To sense and ease work of the human beings, intelligent systems came into existence. • 11. Determining The Success Of A Restaurant Business The menu is the fundamental element in determining the success of a restaurant business. Each customer may have their individual dietary preferences, but the basis of a menu depends on universal requirements in human nature. A human is intrinsically an omnivore with a diet of both meat and plant proteins. The omnivore s paradox or dilemma refers to the contradiction of omnivores having both the sense of neophilia, the inclination and craving for exploration and variation but at the same time limited by neophobia, the fear of the uncertainty of a food s edibility. The incorporation principle referring to how a food effects a person physically and psychologically. Understanding how the omnivore s paradox works and how the incorporation principle influences customers will help chefs putting together a menu create something that caters to a wide range of customers and dietary requirements. The omnivore s paradox raises the issue of how a chef can create a menu that is both interesting and sellable, catering to the balance of mankind s fear of danger and need of novelty, and how the dishes they produce can meet and exceed the customer s expectations. This essay will explain the omnivore s paradox, its relationship to neophilia and neophobia, and their influence on a commercial chef. The incorporation principle will be explained in relation to a customer s decision making. It will also cover how the omnivore s paradox and incorporation principle effects the boundaries of food in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Filipino Culture In The Philippines The Filipino Culture Carla Cravey, Lindsay Hill, Jeanette Gass Carl Albert State College The Filipino Culture Filipinos are the second largest Asian group in the United States. In the past data has been hard to obtain about Filipino Americans, primarily because of inconsistences in coding race and ethnicity in research projects. Demographics of Filipino Americans did not start being properly recorded until the early twentieth century, when the Filipino Islands became part of the United States territory. Even with the limited data, they have gathered enough information on the Filipino culture. Filipino American beliefs differ drastically from that of Americans, such as their culture, health rituals and religious practices that may make healthcare more difficult (Dela Cruz, 2010). Studies of the Filipino American health practices show that Filipinos who reside in a rural area are more knowledgeable in home remedies, super natural ailments, traditional healing techniques, where those from urban areas rely more on Western Medicine and over the counter drugs. In both settings, indigenous folk and western medicine is used simultaneously. A popular self medication among these groups is Chinese hot/cold application system (Pasma), and Chinese oils which sometimes perceived as a remedy to all ailments such as headaches, dizziness, relaxing, or the common cold. If home remedies do not work, many seek a local healer who uses treatments which includes roots and herbs. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The constellation is, also, home to the Andromeda Galaxy, that resides 2,5 light years from earth. This constellation is beyond complex, for the myth that names it, as well for being next doors neighbors with it s galaxy, thus my interest in it. The constellation was named after Princess Andromeda, also known as The Chained Woman wich is, too, the nickname of the own constellation . Andromeda was known for her beauty, and her mom one day claimed that she was even more beautiful then the Nereids, a particularly alluring group of sea nymphs. The Nereids were outraged by the affirmation and decided to ask Poseidon, the God of The Seas to give her a lesson. Poseidon then send a monster to destroy Andomedra s father s territory, and Andomedra decided to sacrifice herself to pay for the sins of her mother, and then was given chained to Poseidon to die. Put simply, beta measures volatility, or the tendency to swing up and down, as compared to a benchmark. Controlling beta becomes an obsession for managers; and after they get the balance just right, they feel confident and reassured in their risk profile. According to Haq stop and frisk is a program that enables a police officer to stop, question, and frisk a person for weapons (1). This means that a police officer can only search someone if they possess reasonable suspicion and follow their guidelines. People should have open ideas of ways of reducing gun violence and not closing before hearing the proposals.
