Freud, S. on the Theory of Sexuality from his article The...
Sigmund Freud s Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality , written in 1905, attempted to trace the
course of the development of the sexual instinct in human beings from infancy to maturity. This
instinct is not simply an animal instinct but is specific to both human culture and the form of
conscious and unconscious life we live within it. For Freud sexuality is infinitely complicated and far
reaching in its effects and forms the basis of self identity and interactions. His Third Essay discusses
the transformations of puberty in both males and females. Part four of this essay focuses on the
differentiation between male and female sexuality. Freud states in this part that as far as the autoerotic
and masturbatory manifestations of sexuality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is at puberty that the sexual nature of girls becomes feminine, that is, passive or receptive. Puberty
for girls is marked by a fresh wave of repression in which it is precisely clitoral sexuality that is
affected, thus overtaking the heretofore active nature of a little girl s sexuality, and replacing it with a
passive non clitoral leading sexual zone focused on the vaginal orifice. The clitoris retains a role in
sexual excitement but its task is in transmitting the excitation to the adjacent female sexual parts and is
not the primary sexual zone as experienced in boys.
Before women can transfer their leading zone from the clitoris to the external genitalia an interval
must occur during which the young woman is anaesthetic, that is unresponsive sexually. This period
occurs at the very time that the pubertal male libido is growing and seeking a sexual object. The
pubertal repression of females acts as a kind of stimulus to the libido of men and causes an increase in
its activity. The repression of pubertal girls leads the male libido to a sexual overvaluation of its
chosen object, which is unobtainable. When a woman has successfully transferred the erotogenic zone
from the clitoris to the vaginal orifice, it implies that she has adopted a new leading zone for the
purposes of her later sexual activity. This is in contrast to the male erotogenic zone, which remains
unchanged from childhood. Freud notes that it is precisely this

Riverdale Character Analysis
Riverdale is an American television program that is based primarily on the Archie comics which were
first released in the 1940 s. The comics focus largely on a love triangle between the three main
characters, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Archie Andrews. Unlike the television show, Betty and
Veronica see one another as frenemies and are constantly at odds over Archie, who is never at fault for
any of the mishaps that happen. The Archie comics were never big advocates of feminism and instead
focused primarily on Archie and the two female characters invented to fight over him, cementing the
idea that girls are only around to win boys affection. In contrast, Riverdale the television show focuses
on Betty and Veronica as friends instead of frenemies and builds upon the idea that girls are smart,
capable, and are stronger when they work together. The new television spin on the original comics
brings together the old characters and main plot points and puts an innovative feminist attitude
towards them to mesh them with the beliefs and issues of today s society. The characters in this show
are much more than the typical jock, nerd, good, bad stereotypes that are commonly depicted in
teenage dramas viewed on the television today. The women of Riverdale prove that for positive
change to take place, friendship must take precedent and sticking together as girls is the most
important aspect of driving forward social change. In the series premiere, the audience is first

Kangxi vs. Louis Xiv- Absolutism Essay examples
Kangxi vs. Louis XIV Absolutism Absolute monarchy or absolutism means that the sovereign power
or ultimate authority in the state rested in the hands of a king who claimed to rule by divine right.
Kangxi and Louis XIV were both shining examples for absolutist rule. Age of Absolutism was
between 1610 and 1789. Absolutism is a term used to depict a type of monarchical power that was not
at all restrained by institutions, for example, legislatures, social elites, or churches. Both Kangxi and
Louis X1V were absolute monarchs associated with the coming to power of professional
bureaucracies, professional standing armies, and the coding of state laws. They possessed ideologies
that justify the absolutist monarchy. As absolute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As he reached age 8 years old on February 17, 1661, Kangxi succeeded imperial throne; twelve days
after his father s death. His rule consisted of at least 61 years from 1661 to 1722, making him the
longest reigning emperor in Chinese history. When Kangxi was eight, he ascended the throne. As a
child, Kangxi was very talented in literature and he worked diligently. Since he was too young, his
father hired four ministers to assist him with the administration of the country. Ao Bai was the name of
one of them who furtively assigned his own henchmen to oppose the young emperor. As Kangxi
became of age to rule the nation, he ingeniously voided Ao Bai s plot. In 1643 Louis XIV became king
at age four upon the loss of his father Louis XIII. Louis XIV, also recognized as the Sun King , was
among the greatest of significant monarchs in history. He reigned for 72 years, from 1643 until his
death in 1715. This made his time as King the longest known reign of any European monarch. He is
responsible for taking France from savage medieval to one of the most appealing cultures in the world.
He claimed total control of the French Government for 54 years out of the 72 years that he reigned for.
The 17th century was labeled as the age of Louis XIV, due to his supreme reign of absolutism in
government. Louis began independently governing France as of 1661 after his prime

CAPITALISM !1
It has been around since the Middle Ages, that we know of, and most likely before that.
It is usually the first type of economy before evolving into another kind. Its main sources of life are
competition and an ever changing society. This almost living breathing creature of our own device is
called capitalism. Capitalism has been the biggest form of economy in the United
States and now throughout the world. Prosperity is usually following right behind because of all the
money produced, people employed, growth occurring, and overall well being a society experiences.
Although great, capitalism has its down falls, like monopolies. We as an American society trust that
the government will monitor, not just monopolies, but the other areas neglected by capitalism.
Although the government has done a great job, they have, in a way, over stepped their bounds and
have been slowly putting their hands on the throat of the beast we call capitalism. America should
promote capitalism and not restrict it. With competition from other forms of government and
countries, America needs all the help it can get to remain a world power. First, the rise of capitalism is
astounding and mesmerizing. Second, the reasons why capitalism is so beneficial and a boon to
society. Third, how restrictions, spending, and taxes are making a capitalistic

The Nile River was a great contributing factor in the development of early Egypt. It is the country s
longest running river, and runs right through Egypt.
The location of the river added convenience, which aided agricultural abilities helping to boost
civilization. Farmers used the water for irrigation since most of Egypt is dry. During the long rainy
season, the Nile would flood. When the flood occurred it would drop deposits of silt, a rich soil ideal
for growing crops. The farmers would then spend long, laborious hours cultivating and preparing the
land for planting. They also spent time making dikes and ditches to retain the water for irrigation uses

Two significant environmental or physical geographic factors that contributed to the development or
expansion of the United States were the California gold rush and the dust bowl.
People came to California with gold fever from all across the country and even Mexico. Word spread
quickly and in just a matter of months, word had spread to Hawaii, Oregon, and even Central America.
Before the end of the year 1848, news of the riches had gold seekers coming from the eastern states, as
well as Great Britain.
Before the discovery of gold in the Coloma Valley was a barely populated area. However, after the
discovery, Coloma became a thriving community. It was named the county seat and served a
population of several thousand. ( History of the, 2004)
Due largely in part to the gold rush, in 1850, a law was passed by the United States Congress making
California the first state in the far west.
The rush can also be thanked for the popularity of the San Francisco port. San Francisco was

The Change Of A Change Leader
I believe that the change that is to occur has a large part on the strategies that a change leader must use
to build employee commitment and buy in. According to Palmer, Dunford and Akin (2009) Getting
people to buy in may depend upon what it is that they are buying into: whether they perceive it as
favorable to them and whether the change had been adequately justified to them (p.302). If it was a
small change, it doesn t take much to get people to buy in, but if it is a large change it will take some
work. The first strategy that I would use as a change leader to communicate a change is to discuss the
need for the change. I believe that if people can see why the process needs to changed, it will open
them up to the possibility of a change. I have seen a lot of process done wrong or a slow way because
it was how it has always been done in that organization. If someone would have come into that
organization and told them that the amount of time they were wasting and showed them the new way,
I think the organization would buy in. The second strategy that I would use for communicating the
change is to provide everyone with accurate information on the change, it would include how the
change is going to happen and how it will affect everyone. I will only send out information that I feel
they need to know so I do not overload them. Palmer, Dunford and Akin (2009) state information
overload is even more problematic in companies where participants are already in receipt of a

Graph Lab Report
All three graphs displayed a similar graph shape. The absorbance values increased with an increase in
temperature. Each graph plateaued at various temperatures. C. perfringens plateaued first, followed by
the DNA of the calf thymus and finally E. coli.
2. Tm values
C. perfringens 80.5°C
Calf Thymus 87.5°C
E. coli 91°C
GC content
C. perfringens GC content = (Tm 69.3) × 2.44 = (80.5 69.3) × 2.44 = 28.55 %
Calf Thymus GC content = (Tm 69.3) × 2.44 = (87.5 69.3)×2.44
= 44.41%
E. coli GC content = (Tm 69.3) × 2.44
= (91 69.3)×2.44
= 52.95%

A higher pH has a negative effect on the DNA s stability, which results in the lowering of the melting
temperature. Raising the pH strips the H+ shared between the nitrogenous base electronegative centres
from the hydrogen bond. The loss of hydrogen bonds between two complementary strands results in
separation. The increase in pH will deprotonate the bases and will exist as negatively charged
conjugate bases. As the deprotonated species, the hydrogen bonding between the bases G and C; and A
and T are eliminated.
The curves for all pH values displayed a similar shape. The higher the pH, the sooner the curve
reached a plateau i.e. the maximum absorbance was reached. At pH 9.3, the lowest melting
temperature of 82°C was seen. At pH 5.4, the highest melting temperature of 90.5°C was seen. This
confirms the inverse relationship between Tm and pH conditions of the DNA strand.
The absorption is decreased due to base stacking interactions. When DNA is denatured, these
interactions are disrupted and an increase in absorbance is

We are living in the world where we are required to yield our personal data information to authority or
companies such as names, date of birth, social security number or even credit numbers (Magalhaes,

secure properly, either via wire or wireless network. Lost or stolen data has been seen while data is
transferred between different users using both networks. Can we trust companies to keep our data safe
from being lost or misuse? Yes, we can. With new cyber crime laws are enforced, it is in the company

A Comparison Of Hannibal And Scipio Africaus
Throughout the years the debate of who was the better general has come up numerous times. Both of
them were very intelligent generals and were arguable some of the top generals at the time. Hannibal
is the more well known out of the two generals. Hannibal is a better general than Scipio Africanus
because he was a master mind with his tactics, great at winning the big battles, and people believed in
him and what he was doing. The Beginning Of Scipio Scipio Africanus was born in 236 B.C., into
which he was born into a one of the excellent patrician homes. Three generations of men before him

There was only two more Carthaginian armies left in Spain that Scipio had to defeat in order to have
complete control of Spain. The first of the two was to be fought in the Battle of Ilipa. As he always did
he constructed a very strategic plan and distracted them by attacking them straight on while he also
flanked them from the sides. Quickly after that victory he scored another one and took control of
Gades which then completed Rome s control over Spain. The Beginning of Hannibal Hannibal was
born in Carthage in 247 B.C. He was the son of the great general Hamilcar Barca. His father devoted
himself to improving Carthage s fortunes. At the age of twenty six, Hannibal was given complete
command of the army and immediately set out to expand the control of Iberia for the Carthaginian s.
He went on to conquer many Iberian tribes and during that he married an Iberian princess named
Imilce. Hannibal knew what was needed to be a great general learning from his father. Leading to the
Battle of Zama Hamilcar who is Hannibal s father conquered many towns and cities including
Barcelona all throughout the Iberian peninsula. Soon after Hannibal took control of the army that
ruled the Iberian peninsula and expanded the borders all the way to the Roman territory. In 219 B.C.,

to be replaced by dark moments or night time. And in the natural, some people in some circumstances
fail to see well in dim light or at night time. This is called night blindness or nyctalopia. This is
explained by a defect affecting the photoreceptors mentioned earlier as the rod cells. This defect can
be a degenerative condition called retinitis pigmentosa, or a congenital disorder known as x linked
congenital stationary night blindness, or simply a malnutrition problem with a deficiency in vitamin A

Analyzing Themes in William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night Essay
William Shakespeare, an English writer in the seventeenth century. He is considered to be the most
influential writer in English literature. He wrote various genres, but the common types he wrote were:
Tragedies, Comedies, and Histories. Among the many plays he wrote he wrote one his most famous
play, Twelfth Night , which he wrote during the middle of his career. Twelfth Night is considered to be
one of Shakespeare s greatest comedies that he has written. In addition to it is also the only play that
he wrote that has an alternate title which is called, Twelfth Night, or What You Will . By analyzing the
themes presented in the play: Actions of love, Gender, and madness, helps show what Shakespeare
conveyed about love. In the play, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each time he go tries to woo her it always brings him more pain. So to him it seems that love is an

falls in love with Orsino, states that, My state is desperate for my master s love (Act II. Scene II. Line
37) in which she means that she is hopelessly in love and she will do anything to gain it. This results
into violence in a later scene with her and Orsino because he thinks that Cesario (Viola) is Olivia s
lover. Viola does bring pain to Olivia due to her deception because Olivia fell quickly in love with
Cesario when he comes to woo her for Orsino. As stated, the play does have a happy ending. Those
who were set out pursuing for love got it for the most part. Orsino and Viola ended up together, Olivia
and Sebastian (Viola s twin brother) ended up together (partly because she mistakes him for Cesario),
and Maria and Sir Toby ended up together. The same could not be said for Malvolio who was in love
with Olivia. He was tricked into thinking that Olivia returned the same affections, but in it was all a
trick. Malvolio had the mindset that Olivia loved him, but Olivia just thought he was going mad so she
sent him off to this dark cell where he remained until the end of the play. Malvolio s love for Olivia
hurt him more than it did more good. He had to suffer because of his actions which portrayed him as a

There is a common notion that money cannot buy happiness. This may be true for most, but not for
John Cheever s protagonist, Neddy Merrill, in The Swimmer . John Cheever was born May 27, 1912
in Quincy, Massachusetts. He has written many short stories for various publishers such as The

Neddy and his wife, Lucinda, could be considered quite high in their social rankings. They have been
invited and have gone to a great deal of social encounters. When Neddy is telling his route home, he
lists the name of the owners of the houses that he will pass. Most of the owners of those swimming
pools that Neddy will pass through will be those very people that he and Lucinda have declined
invitations from. The owners of the pools that Neddy will swim through are First ... the Grahams, the
Hammers, the Lears, the Howlands, and the Crosscups. [Then] he would cross Ditmar Street to the
Bunkers and come, after a short portage, to the Levys, the Welchers, and the public pool in Lancaster.
Then there were the Hallorans, the Sachses, the Biswangers, Shirley Adams, the Gilmartins, and the
Clydes (Cheever 2). The list of the names of the neighbors was one way Cheever provided concise
symbolic resonance to the story. By listing the names of the owners of the pools, it makes the short
story seem vague and blurred like Neddy was at the end from the various drinks that he had drunk at
the numerous pool owner s houses.
The next element used in The Swimmer is allusion. One of the more obvious allusions in the story is
Cheevers comparison of Neddy to a summers day . This comparison echoes one of Shakespeare s

On-Campus Garden Persuasive Essay
Sustainability is something we talk about a lot. It s taught to kids in elementary and middle schools
now, but when I was in primary school it was not heavily focused on. There has been shift in priorities
between generations, and I feel that it s very hard to get my generation on board with living in a
sustainable manner. I once gave a speech on the importance of recycling that almost put the entire
class to sleep. I think this is because my generation does not care, it s not their problem, the idea of the
earth not supporting them is not something that has been brought to their doorstep, and in a manner of
speaking they are unaware that their actions have negative consequences. My ideas for making the
Grand View campus more eco friendly is a three fold process fully incorporated to form a closed loop.
First, I believe we should have a(n) on campus garden(s) where students are responsible for caring for
crops which could be consumed in the cafeteria or used in a food pantry. Second, we should harvest

some people pointed that cheating had become more prevalent among business students. An article

Data And The Standard Model Of Its Representation As Well...
In this Chapter, we present the background needed to understand the work proposed in this thesis. As
our research mainly concerns with securing provenance, Section 2.1 will cover provenance data and
the standard model of its representation as well as the applications of securing provenance. Section 2.2
introduces graph databases that will be used later in storing provenance in our prototype. Section 2.3
explores workflow systems and workflow provenance. Section 2.4 illustrates the main security
principles that will be tackled in the thesis and inference problem that attacks privacy. Finally, Section
2.5 summarizes the main content of this chapter.
2.1 What is provenance?
Provenance (aka lineage) is a descriptive metadata (i.e. data about data). It specifies not only the
properties of an object but also the history of deriving this object. As provenance touches many
different domains and applications, it has different definitions that represent different views of
provenance such as Description of the origins of data and the process by which it arrived at the
database [20], Metadata recording the process of experiment workflows, annotations, and notes about
experiments [50].
The rationale behind provenance has been long established, for example log files and metadata, but
the term provenance is recent and it is gaining popularity particularly in workflow systems.
Descriptive metadata only becomes part of provenance when one also specifies its relationship to
deriving an

Test Of Dispersion Of Oak Trees
1. (3) Write the statistical hypotheses for the test of dispersion for oak. The null hypothesis for this
study assumes that the dispersion of oaks is random. The comparison of observed and expected oak
trees through a Poisson analysis will determine the actual dispersion of oaks. Therefore, the statistical

Due to being less mobile, the characteristic of the plant may determine the type of seed that can occur.
Consequently, certain dispersion configurations may be more beneficial for certain plants. For
example, if young oak seedlings demonstrate clumped dispersion then this may suggest that they have

Capital Budgeting
The main principle of the capital budget is to channel the total distribution of state expenditures for
public services. To present the greatest possible outline of current and planned capital investments and
assure state governments ability to borrow will not increase nor decrease. This paper will discuss how
the debt capacity of state is established and then discuss and assess the effect of repaying or
reorganizing current debt commitment. This paper will also discuss different funding substitutes that
can be used to support debt commitment. This paper will utilized the City of Toledo, whose capital
budget is a 4 year plan, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of each
type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to
finance those investments.
States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For
example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are usually
financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are
necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the loan
plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce
(2008), In the United States, although some local governments borrow from banks for temporary
operating funds, the main source of debt finance is the issuance of bonds.
Determining Debt Capacity
The City of Toledo has a bond insurance practice, and funds which contains working with fiscal
working groups in planning of the Order, disclosure information, and the organizing of the bond

Fund and several others. All revenues and disbursements flow into and out of one or more funds (City

Ohio Valley Film Analysis
The new people of the United States negatively affected the various eastern and southern Native
American tribes. Both regions of tribes were forced to be removed from their homeland and were
deceived with various treaties. In the Ohio Valley, through a series of battles and dubious treaties the
new United States laid claim to Indian lands on the frontier. This overall continuous push of Native
Americans west contributed to the political and war uprising of Tecumseh. Tecumseh voiced to his
people that the white people would never stop, they would keep pushing the Native American people
off of their land. Tecumseh, unwilling to let this happen, rallied up as many alliances with other
surrounding tribes, but the southern tribes would not join. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tribes which occupied the countries now constituting the Eastern States were annihilated or have
melted away to make room for the whites, which is an example of why Tecumseh and his army joined
with the British and tried to reclaim their land, as described in the film. The film and the textbook
compare in that they both describe the trial of tears and how it impacted the Native American people.
In the textbook, the Native Americans are described as wounded, the sick, newborn babies and the old
men on the point of death with nearly one quarter of them dying from exhaustion and disease. In
comparison, the film gives perspective of what the terrible march was like, explaining that families
were forced out of their homes with nothing to bring but what they could carry. The document and the
textbook compare in that both express how political leader especially Andrew Jackson advocated that
the Native Americans were preventing the United States from growing their empire. For most white
Americans, the Indians were in the way of their growing empire, and Andrew Jackson agreed by
saying, what good man would prefer a country covered with forests and ranged by a few thousand
savages to our extensive Republic, studded with cities, towns, and prosperous

The Music Of Music Videos
The development of music videos throughout many years has changed rapidly due to the relationship
between media forms and platforms of different media kind of texts. Some issues in contemporary
music videos are from the evolution of new technologies, social media and politics. Thus, artists
throughout time have taken advantage of music videos in order to use it as a site for debates about
politics of representation. Nowadays the majority of music videos are transforming and turning into
short films and art in order for the artists to express themselves through this function. A music video
that illustrates these media contexts is Justin Timberlake s song What Goes Around . This essay will
firstly describe this music video and how it has broadened the definition of the term music video, and
then examine how this is relevant to media contexts. Therefore, with new technologies arising in
music videos it tends to contribute to changes in ideas of musicianship and performance.
On February 7th 2007, the artists Justin Timberlake released his music video to his song What Goes
Around which turned out to be a short film as it was nine minutes and twenty two seconds long. It was
directed by Samuel Bayer and starred the actress Scarlett Johansson. It features acting, dialogue and of
course the song itself. The lyrics of the song and the actions shown within the music video are of a
relationship that ended badly due to cheating. It shows and portrays women s bodies as a sex object

Heating Appliances Carry A Disease Transmission Risk
A Thermoplastic device is one of the immobilization devices used to immobilize cancer patients
during radiation therapy treatment, such as head and neck cancers. One way to form a thermoplastic
device is to use one of the heating devices that are specifically designed to fabricate customized
thermoplastic immobilization in the optimal conditions. The patients may be at risk of infection from
heating devices used to produce their masks. In this study, authors assess individual facility practices
where water baths or other heating appliances are used to fabricate thermoplastic immobilization
devices to determine whether heating appliances carry a disease transmission risk. The author s
purpose, approach or methods, hypothesis, and major conclusions. Purpose To determine whether
heating appliances used to fabricate customized thermoplastic immobilization devices carry a disease
transmission risk. Background Current literature provides ample evidence that water baths used in
health care settings are potential reservoirs for microorganisms associated with patient infections.
Such results suggest a similar potential for heating appliances used to fabricate thermoplastic forms.
Methods The authors conducted on site surveys of both equipment and procedures used to produce
immobilization forms in several medical facilities. Each heating appliance was sampled for its
microbial content and the data analyzed for growth trends. Results Twelve heating appliances were
sampled. Five (42%)

The Pros And Cons Of Transforming Iraq
Transforming Iraq and Syria into liberal, democratic, capitalist, and secular nation states will not be an
easy task. It more than likely will not work at all, based on historical evidence. We will have to find a
way to connect with all kinds of people. People of different religions, backgrounds, and cultures. The
people of Syria and Iraq have not taken to western ideologies well in the past, and I have trouble
believing that they will in the present. There is too much conflict among the people within each
country for me to believe they would easily reform to western ideologies. They cannot even decide
among themselves how to live peacefully.
There have been many attempts to try and westernize Syria and Iraq. In 1917, the French and British
mandated several small states, including Iraq. Britain and France led on Hussein Ibn Ali, making him
believe that the Arabs would gain that land. This was proven to be untrue. When it was shown that the
British and French would rule their way and not fulfill their promises, Hussein created the Arab
Revolt, which fought for the land stolen from them. This was one example of unsuccessful
westernization of Iraq. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Description Of A Website On A Webpage Essay
Archiving
When testing if a webpage is archived and how often is it archived one important factor is when is the
webpage created. If a webpage is created in 2000 we would assume it will be archived several times.
However, if the webpage is created yesterday we would assume it might not be archived or at least
once. So here we want to figure out the creation date of our collection and make sure we have a
different variety of creation years.
One method to determine when the URIs are created is to find out when was the domain name created.
This can be done using the Whois protocol [14]. However, using this method we only found 3533
creation date out of 7976 Arabic seed URIs . The oldest creation date we found using this method in
our collection of Aranic seed URIs was 1996.
Another method is the carbon date tool, it searches for creation date in the indexed search engines,
archived in the public archives, and shared in the social media and save the oldest date found as the
creation date. We have to note that creation dates obtained are just an estimate [15].
Figure 3 shows the creation date and its frequency. It shows we have a large distribution of creation
dates. And the maximum creation date was in 2005 where almost 500 websites are created.
ARCHIVE
Online websites are crawled and are archived so they can be available for any special purpose [16].
We checked if Arabic URIs are archived using the memento web time map. We collected the datetime

Drug Trafficking In Colombia

people involved in the drug trade including civilians are being killed, kidnapped, and injured over this

America and Russia entered the Cold War due to both countries having developed nuclear bombs, and
having opposite government styles. America had developed a domino theory that determined if one
country fell to communism then another will (Trueman 2015). Therefore, America needed a way to
stop communism, and used propaganda pieces similar to the bombing in the book to stray countries
from communism due to its violent nature . I believe Greene used Fowler to symbolize himself, and
the way he felt about America and their intervention in the Cold War. Also, I believe Pyle was the
symbol of America, and Phoung was what America was trying to save, but Fowler realized Pyle had ill
intentions to save the South Vietnamese citizens. He used this as a symbol that America may had said
they were in the war to save the innocent lives from the Communists where as the Americans were
really looking for propaganda to scare people away from communism. Greene s novel used many
characters to symbolize his feelings on the Cold War and the involvement of each country. He used the
novel very well to display his opinion. His symbolism of each character was very thorough and easily
discovered. The novel was a very interesting view point of the Cold War, and

I ve Lost My Faith in Organized Religion Essay
I ve Lost My Faith in Organized Religion
When I was four years old, I used to stand on top of the pews and sing my heart out. I had what my
mother still refers to as a heart for Jesus, and I loved to sing. I sang so loudly and with so much
enthusiasm that I was an embarrassment to my incredibly introverted parents and a blessing to the
adults around me.
I loved church. From belting Father Abraham to watching Gospel Bill videos to coloring pictures of
David and Goliath, it was endless fun. The Sunday School teachers seemed immortal, and I loved
talking to them, and I wanted to be just like them when I grew up. I learned to obey my parents and
love my neighbor and speak in tongues. And of course I learned to love Jesus.

The clever church does not stop at using guilt to obtain funding. It further seeks to control its members
and every aspect of their lives. The church wants carbon copies of sin free, squeaky clean, productive
citizens. Mormans are expected to spend two years of their lives volunteering as missionaries (
Oxtoby 319 ). The Catholic religion uses guilt to get its members to abstain from the use of birth
control ( Oxtoby 329 ). The Catholic Church also tries to increase church attendance by making it a
mortal sin to not attend church. Many Christian religions try to get their young people to remain
innocent and pure by teaching them that sex is a dirty and sinful act outside of marriage. Baptists are
taught to feel guilty about dancing, and Jews are forbidden from even touching ham or pork ( Oxtoby
75 ). Whether the church needs money, mass numbers of people, or specific behaviors from its
followers, it can always be sure to achieve the desired results with a little bit of good old fashioned
guilt.
One of the things that bothers me the most about religion is that it is extremely judgmental. Although
they throw around phrases like, hate the sin, not the sinner, the actions of religious people speak
louder than their words. I was told since I was born that anyone who did not accept Jesus Christ as his
personal Lord and Savior would go to hell. The Church

her experiences in each. Throughout the interview, she made it a point to stress how social work
comes in many forms and a person does not have to feel stuck working in the same type of position
forever. Ciara received her Bachelors Degree in psychology and women s studies at Kansas State

Most of the time in that job was spent teaching the kids. After working in that atmosphere for a while,

Research Report On Financial Reporting
Abstract
As the going concern issues in financial reporting: a guide for companies and directors (Australian
Institute of Company Directors, 2009) indicated, The going concern assumption is a fundamental
principle that underlies the preparation of the vast majority of financial reports (incorporated in the
annual reports) of Australian companies , the main purpose of this research report is aimed to
investigate the importance of going concern concept to both directors and the users of financial
reports. This report will focus on the problems that might rise from the absence of an appropriate

It is upon their discretion and the appropriateness of their use of going concern assumption is an
important matter considered by every auditing firm. Several financial reporting frameworks has a
clear requirement asking the management to create specific assessment of the entity s capability to
continue with their operations and as a going concern. Furthermore, the management is also required
to assess specific standards and disclosure to be made in relation with going concern. One specific
example is within IFRS or the International Financial Reporting Standards, and IAS or International
Accounting Standards. Below is the Presentation of Financial Statements or AASB 101 26:
In assessing whether the going concern assumption is appropriate, management takes into account all
available information about the future, which is at least, but is not limited to, twelve months from the
balance sheet date. The degree of consideration depends on the facts in each case. When an entity has
a history of profitable operations and ready access to financial resources, a conclusion that the going
concern basis of accounting is appropriate may be reached without detailed analysis. In other cases,
management may need to consider a wide range of factors relating to current and expected
profitability, debt repayment schedules and potential

Casino Industry in Macau
The Casino Industry in Macau
Research Question
I intend to evaluate the Casino Industry in Macau including the reasons for its high demand and
growing success and compare it to the Casino Industry in Las Vegas.
The gaming industry is the livelihood of Macau. It is responsible for 75% of the government s income
and provides the people of Macau with millions of jobs. Even though gambling was first legalized
under Portuguese rule to finance the government, it remains the same under Chinese rule today. The
rules and regulations set forth oversee the casino industry and grant companies with casino
concessions. It is dramatically more profitable than Las Vegas because of the devastating effects of the
American Recession.

This only attracted more tourists to the country and encouraged locals to gamble more. The
construction and operation of new casinos also dramatically increased employment rates.
Who Regulates the Casino Industry in Macau? After the casino monopoly ended in 2001, the
government formed rules and regulations that would administer the gaming industry. The dissolution
of the monopoly meant that companies besides STDM were now allowed to build and operate casinos
in Macau. Theses rules and regulations were to ensure that the new casinos were operating properly
and fairly (Loughlin and Pannell).
Soon after the monopoly ended, the Legislative Assembly passed a law (No. 16) that clearly outlined
the definition gambling and casino . The law stated what would be acceptable and what would not be
acceptable in terms of gambling in Macau. It also explained the guidelines for the concession system
and the procedure for bidding. In order to enforce these rules and regulations, the Legislative
Assembly established the Casino Commissions Committee. This committee consists of eight members
and is overseen by the Secretary of Economics and Finance. At the time of its establishment, this man
was Francis Tam Pak Yuen.

shocks. Even though Milgram s participants were all real people and Slater used an avatar, both
studies showed similar results when participants were able to interact and hear the learner s responses.
For example, in Milgram s study, participants showed signs of nervousness, tension and were
generally uncomfortable. When participants were hesitant to stop the task, the experimenter responded
saying it is absolutely essential that you continue . Similar to Slater s study, participants showed signs
of stress, frustration and a racing heartbeat. They would also turn to the experimenter for guidance on
what they should do. Both studies resulted in the majority of participants going all the way on the

The designer needs to know the minimum, nominal, and maximum volume of fluid required. Different
types of actuation operate in different ranges of volumetric displacements.
1
Input Pedal Force Input pedal force is generally expressed as a maximum force allowed to generate
the desired maximum brake line pressure. Again, there are governing agencies that make
recommendations to assist in identifying this value. BRAKE ACTUATION CIRCUITS The system
designer can accomplish brake actuation in different ways. The use of a direct means of actuation,
such as hydraulic pressure to apply the brakes is but one method of brake actuation. Another type of
actuation is reverse modulation or negative braking as it is referred to in the European community.
Reverse modulation uses hydraulic pressure to release a spring apply brake. Maximum torque is
produced when hydraulic pressure is absent either intentionally or due to system failure. The subject
of reverse modulation requires further detailed explanation beyond the scope fo this paper. Also
beyond the scope of this paper are pneumatic and vacuum boosted hydraulic circuits as it is felt that
the trend is clearly away from them toward full hydraulic circuits. This paper will discuss three broad
categories of hydraulic pressure actuation circuits, these are:

Why Did The Russian Civil War Start
The Russian Civil War began in October of 1918. An uprising in Petrograd lit the match and things
were on a roll. The Bolsheviks gained power and were bound to be challenged for it. A major country
that opposed the Bolsheviks were the Social Revolutionaries. When the Revolutionaries were held

countries that opposed the Bolsheviks were the Revolutionaries as mentioned before, the Mensheviks
( who once controlled the Provisional Government), and the Tsarists (who wanted to put Nicholas the

the Czech region. Czech Prisoners were being taken across Russia who in 1918 mutinied, took control

October of 1917 their support had been confined to the working class districts associated with big

the Bolsheviks would hold power for more than just a few weeks. Many people thought, and for good

15. Answer: C. Animation is the process of making drawings and inanimate objects appear to move. It
began in the mid 1850s with the use of the zoetrope to simulate movement, graduated to stop action
photography as seen in the early cartoons of Walt Disney in the 1930s and has progressed to the
computer generated films currently being produced. Digital animation creates moving images using a
computer. It is the same process used to produce movement on television and in films. A simple
explanation for the process: An image is displayed on the screen; it is quickly replaced with another
image that is similar to the first but has shifted ever so slightly. This process is repeated as many times
as necessary to complete the desired action. The images are then layered onto a virtual skeleton.
Details are added (eyes, mouth, ears, hair) and all the related images are shown

Alternative Fuel Vehicles Feasibility Study
Alternative Fuel Vehicles Feasibility Study As a leader in the rental vehicle industry for the past 30
years, ABC Rental Cars has continually remained a step ahead of its competition. To continue to set
the pace for other rental agencies to follow, and to ensure ABC Rental Cars dominant position in the
marketplace, alternative fuel vehicles (AFV), or more specifically, hybrid vehicles, should be
evaluated as to the feasibility and consumer interest of introducing these types of vehicles into our
fleet. Currently, gasoline prices are at an all time high. The United States dependency on foreign oil is
also at an extremely high level, and with the ever shifting Middle Eastern political climate teetering at
volatile levels, hybrid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As indicated above, these three cars are not only great when it comes to mileage, but another
advantage they enjoy is that they are also environmentally friendly. For example, the Prius produces
90 percent less harmful emissions than a traditional car (www.ineed2know.org, 2004), which is
important to those individuals that are concerned about the environment. Even President Bush seemed
to agree that alternative fuel vehicles needed to be further investigated when he endorsed the concept
of alternative fuel vehicles and allocated more than a billion dollars toward the transition to hydrogen
fuels (www.evrental.com, 2001). On the other hand, these types of cars are not a practical investment
if cost and availability are issues. Not only is the price higher, but due to limited interest in hybrids by
consumers at this time, there is only a small geographic area where hybrids are being rented. Most
locations are situated in California, Arizona, and Washington; therefore, if ABC Rental Cars is looking
for a new rental opportunity that could expand quickly, hybrid vehicles may not be the ideal choice.
Initial startup costs and maintenance costs are also important factors to consider. The price of a hybrid
automobile is higher than that of a comparable gasoline engine powered automobile. According to the
Website ineed2know.org, a consumer can expect to pay from $3,500 to $6,000 more for a hybrid
vehicle. The money a consumer saves in purchasing a hybrid depends

The Industrial Revolution was a great time of growth in...
The Industrial Revolution was a great time of growth in the United States. During this time in North
America the eastern side of the United States is becoming overcrowded and people begin to set off in
search for new land and a fresh start. Several factor contributed to both the rise and fall of railroads in
the United States from the spread of westward expansion, to farmers need to stay connected to the rest
of the nation, and to the start of railroad regulations agencies.
In the 19th century the eastern part of North America began to become overcrowded with immigrants
as well as from natural growth. This marked the time in America s history for westward expansion and

These farmers rely heavily on railroads to transport their crops from the frontier to be sold. Everything
depended on the railroads without them many farmers would not get the tools they needed to provide
for their families and the nation would have been disconnected. This gave the railroad companies total
control of the nation s wealth and also power. They controlled everything from the price they shipped
items at to which town they built stations at. They would even make cities bid or get special favors to
the company that built stations at the town, near the town, or even just around them. As depicted in the
American Frankenstein by Frank Bellew railroad companies became monsters they corrupted
government officials, they bribed, and they even rigged elections for their good. It seemed like there
was no way to stop these monsters from taking control of the wealth of the nation as well as the
power. With no regulations to stop them it seems as if there was no end in sight.
Farmers begin getting restless of the railroad monopolies; they demand the government to take action.
The farmers wear in dire straits being charged exorbitant fees to ship the goods was that in turn meant
little profit going towards their families. They had no choice but to pay these fees because they had no
other way to transport their goods due to where they lived. The first attempt to take down the monsters

As shown, this dynamic stretching and strengthening will improve performance by increasing skill

which happens through focusing on breath and holding postures. This great side effect can be carried
over by football players to the field and help prevent any major distractions that could lead to injury.
Awareness of surroundings and others is just one of the positive effects yoga will have on the mind.
Many NFL players are known as hot heads with short tempers. Luckily, yoga is a wonderful remedy to

stress. NK cells are clinically shown to increase with a constant yoga practice. For this

How Does Merlin Influence Arthur s Life
The Hollow Hills by Mary Stewart is a new twist on the classic King Arthur tale with the spotlight on
protecting Arthur for the sake of the kingdom s destiny. Over the course of the book many important
men, or lack thereof, have big influences on Arthur s life and how he will be as a leader or family
member in the future. A big influence on Arthur in this story is Merlin. Whether Arthur realizes it or
not, Merlin has really set the course of his life. Merlin helped place Arthur and set up who would be

people who he knew would affect Arthur in a positive way. Merlin was as peaceful as he was cunning

Why Circumcision Is Wrong
Circumcision is considered normal in America, but what if it isn t as normal as we think? Did you
know that most of the world does not participate in this practice? Here are some reasons why, if you
have a baby boy, you should reconsider getting him circumcised.
Number Eight: There is NO Medical Reason or Benefit
People in Asia or European countries are often shocked to hear that circumcision is a routine operation
in the USA. People from these parts of the world (where 90% are uncircumcised) suffer no bad
consequences as a result of keeping their foreskins intact.
Number Seven: Circumcision is Becoming Less and Less Common
You may be afraid that your son will get, as they say, laughed at in the locker room , but times are
changing. In 1981, over 80% of boys were circumcised, and that number has dropped drastically.
Today, only 55% of boys are circumcised, because people are realizing it s pointless. ... Show more

This skin is there for a reason. It wasn t an evolutionary mistake.
Number Five: You Would be Decreasing Your Son s Pleasure Potential
The foreskin is full of nerve endings. When you cut this off, you are reducing your son s sensitivity by
up to 40%! This is a choice he should make on his own, if he decides he wants it as an adult.
Number Four: It s Not a Hassle to Clean the Foreskin
Folk tales and rumors would have you believe that bacteria is a danger for uncut penises, but that s not
true. It only takes a few seconds longer to wash than a circumcised penis.
Number Three: It s Permanent, and Your Son May Regret

Examples Of Love At First Sight In Romeo And Juliet
Love at first sight does not exist. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy that starts with love at first sight.
Shakespeare developed two ignorant, naïve, stubborn, narrow minded, teenaged characters that ended
up taking their own lives because they were led into temptation. A few examples of the temptation in
which they were led were when Romeo was persuaded to go to a party without an invitation. That and
they decided to get married without telling their parents the day after they met, and Juliet was
basically engaged to Paris with a wedding date mere weeks from the day they got married. Amongst
all these things, Romeo showed how impatient and hard headed he was when he left Mantua, where he
was told to wait for Juliet s letter, and went to her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was where he met the beauty he didn t know as a Capulet, and she felt the same way, which
created the love at first sight. This created the fast paced relationship that was what got them killed.
Romeo and Juliet had to know this was going to happen, and not just because the priest had said,
Those who run quickly stumble, (Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet). His statement means things take
time. Romeo and Juliet proved their minds were narrow once more when they got married after a day
of knowing each other, without their parent s consent, and Juliet was already to marry Paris weeks
later. Instead Juliet married Romeo, a Montague, her family s rival family. Juliet even said, My only
love sprung from my only hate, (Shakespeare). If they would have told someone they could have
resolved the issue like adults but instead show how immature and hard head they were. Another thing
that proved they fell into something bad, and not into love, was when Romeo was in Mantua, waiting
as he was told, and decides to say, I defy you, stars, (Shakespeare). He literally said he knew it wasn t
supposed to happen and still did it. He knew defying destiny that was in the stars wasn t something he
should do, but still committed these actions repeatedly throughout the

Burn Burns In The United States
I felt intense warmth around my bed frame. Just as I was about to open my eyes I sensed a strong
surge of pain that overwhelmed my body, as I looked down at my legs, I saw a sea of orange flames
devouring my bed sheets. It was in that moment that I realized that my house was on fire, and my legs
were burned. This is an example of how most Americans experience home fires. In fact, residential
properties have the most fire related deaths (76.5%), fire injuries (78.0%) and fire dollar loss (55.0%)
in the United States (United States Fire Administration, 2013). The most popular injuries related to
fires are burn wounds. Burn wounds can be categorized into three different levels: first degree, second
degree, and third degree burns.

The Was A Man With His Own Ideas
Thomas Paine was a man with his own ideas. He was a strong supporter of the French Revolution.
Paine Believes human rights are given by nature. Rights cannot be given by a government because
that implies that human rights are legally allowed to be taken away from someone, thus making rights
a privilege. He believes that the purpose of a government is to protect the individual and his/her
inalienable rights that they carry. He claims that an illegitimate way of government is a monarchy and
an aristocracy. Paine highly disliked the systems of a monarchy he called it a silly, contemptible thing

The people are not allowed to meddle with creating and fixing laws. The life of a monarchy
government is an expensive life. Thus requires the king to tax his people. When the monarch is
oppressive this is when the people have no voice. Any demonstration or outcry by the people will get
shut down quickly. They can stay in power for decades only death can stop a monarch. If the monarch
is a tyrant like leader the people must endure these hardships for as long as that monarch is alive.
Monarchs successors can sometimes be not the brightest individuals. They might not possess the
actual knowledge to functionally run a country. Not one person can run a country. The old style of
monarchies and governments did not produce order. Most of what they produced were wars and taxes
on the people. Depending on the monarch they may be lenient or they might be controlling in the
rights and laws for the people. This infringes on the natural rights and laws people are granted with. A
monarch could take away the laws and rights that we are born with a simple word uttered by him.
Rights and laws given by nature to all humans could be taken away in a split second by this monarch.
Paine later compares the two style of governments, a monarchy and a republic where he writes that a
monarchy Is extremely less valuable than a republic. Paine later describes that new republican style of
governments like those in America and France are much more beneficial to a

  • 2. Freud, S. on the Theory of Sexuality from his article The... Sigmund Freud s Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality , written in 1905, attempted to trace the course of the development of the sexual instinct in human beings from infancy to maturity. This instinct is not simply an animal instinct but is specific to both human culture and the form of conscious and unconscious life we live within it. For Freud sexuality is infinitely complicated and far reaching in its effects and forms the basis of self identity and interactions. His Third Essay discusses the transformations of puberty in both males and females. Part four of this essay focuses on the differentiation between male and female sexuality. Freud states in this part that as far as the autoerotic and masturbatory manifestations of sexuality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is at puberty that the sexual nature of girls becomes feminine, that is, passive or receptive. Puberty for girls is marked by a fresh wave of repression in which it is precisely clitoral sexuality that is affected, thus overtaking the heretofore active nature of a little girl s sexuality, and replacing it with a passive non clitoral leading sexual zone focused on the vaginal orifice. The clitoris retains a role in sexual excitement but its task is in transmitting the excitation to the adjacent female sexual parts and is not the primary sexual zone as experienced in boys. Before women can transfer their leading zone from the clitoris to the external genitalia an interval must occur during which the young woman is anaesthetic, that is unresponsive sexually. This period occurs at the very time that the pubertal male libido is growing and seeking a sexual object. The pubertal repression of females acts as a kind of stimulus to the libido of men and causes an increase in its activity. The repression of pubertal girls leads the male libido to a sexual overvaluation of its chosen object, which is unobtainable. When a woman has successfully transferred the erotogenic zone from the clitoris to the vaginal orifice, it implies that she has adopted a new leading zone for the purposes of her later sexual activity. This is in contrast to the male erotogenic zone, which remains unchanged from childhood. Freud notes that it is precisely this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Riverdale Character Analysis Riverdale is an American television program that is based primarily on the Archie comics which were first released in the 1940 s. The comics focus largely on a love triangle between the three main characters, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Archie Andrews. Unlike the television show, Betty and Veronica see one another as frenemies and are constantly at odds over Archie, who is never at fault for any of the mishaps that happen. The Archie comics were never big advocates of feminism and instead focused primarily on Archie and the two female characters invented to fight over him, cementing the idea that girls are only around to win boys affection. In contrast, Riverdale the television show focuses on Betty and Veronica as friends instead of frenemies and builds upon the idea that girls are smart, capable, and are stronger when they work together. The new television spin on the original comics brings together the old characters and main plot points and puts an innovative feminist attitude towards them to mesh them with the beliefs and issues of today s society. The characters in this show are much more than the typical jock, nerd, good, bad stereotypes that are commonly depicted in teenage dramas viewed on the television today. The women of Riverdale prove that for positive change to take place, friendship must take precedent and sticking together as girls is the most important aspect of driving forward social change. In the series premiere, the audience is first introduced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Kangxi vs. Louis Xiv- Absolutism Essay examples Kangxi vs. Louis XIV Absolutism Absolute monarchy or absolutism means that the sovereign power or ultimate authority in the state rested in the hands of a king who claimed to rule by divine right. Kangxi and Louis XIV were both shining examples for absolutist rule. Age of Absolutism was between 1610 and 1789. Absolutism is a term used to depict a type of monarchical power that was not at all restrained by institutions, for example, legislatures, social elites, or churches. Both Kangxi and Louis X1V were absolute monarchs associated with the coming to power of professional bureaucracies, professional standing armies, and the coding of state laws. As he reached age 8 years old on February 17, 1661, Kangxi succeeded imperial throne; twelve days after his father s death. His rule consisted of at least 61 years from 1661 to 1722, making him the longest reigning emperor in Chinese history. When Kangxi was eight, he ascended the throne. As a child, Kangxi was very talented in literature and he worked diligently. Since he was too young, his father hired four ministers to assist him with the administration of the country. Ao Bai was the name of one of them who furtively assigned his own henchmen to oppose the young emperor. As Kangxi became of age to rule the nation, he ingeniously voided Ao Bai s plot. In 1643 Louis XIV became king at age four upon the loss of his father Louis XIII. Louis XIV, also recognized as the Sun King , was among the greatest of significant monarchs in history. He reigned for 72 years, from 1643 until his death in 1715. This made his time as King the longest known reign of any European monarch. He is responsible for taking France from savage medieval to one of the most appealing cultures in the world. He claimed total control of the French Government for 54 years out of the 72 years that he reigned for. The 17th century was labeled as the age of Louis XIV, due to his supreme reign of absolutism in government. Louis began independently governing France as of 1661 after his prime ... • 5. Article Review On Capitalism And Capitalism Caleb Wilson Essay on Capitalism Instructors: Christel Smith, Kurt Banzhaf, and Kayla Colfack English 12 and American Government April 12, 2015 CAPITALISM !1 It has been around since the Middle Ages, that we know of, and most likely before that. It is usually the first type of economy before evolving into another kind. Its main sources of life are competition and an ever changing society. This almost living breathing creature of our own device is called capitalism. Capitalism has been the biggest form of economy in the United States and now throughout the world. Prosperity is usually following right behind because of all the money produced, people employed, growth occurring, and overall well being a society experiences. Although great, capitalism has its down falls, like monopolies. We as an American society trust that the government will monitor, not just monopolies, but the other areas neglected by capitalism. Although the government has done a great job, they have, in a way, over stepped their bounds and have been slowly putting their hands on the throat of the beast we call capitalism. America should promote capitalism and not restrict it. With competition from other forms of government and countries, America needs all the help it can get to remain a world power. First, the rise of capitalism is astounding and mesmerizing. Second, the reasons why capitalism is so beneficial and a boon to society. Third, how restrictions, spending, and taxes are making a capitalistic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is the country s longest running river, and runs right through Egypt. The location of the river added convenience, which aided agricultural abilities helping to boost civilization. Farmers used the water for irrigation since most of Egypt is dry. During the long rainy season, the Nile would flood. • 7. The Change Of A Change Leader I believe that the change that is to occur has a large part on the strategies that a change leader must use to build employee commitment and buy in. According to Palmer, Dunford and Akin (2009) Getting people to buy in may depend upon what it is that they are buying into: whether they perceive it as favorable to them and whether the change had been adequately justified to them (p.302). If it was a small change, it doesn t take much to get people to buy in, but if it is a large change it will take some work. The first strategy that I would use as a change leader to communicate a change is to discuss the need for the change. I believe that if people can see why the process needs to changed, it will open them up to the possibility of a change. I have seen a lot of process done wrong or a slow way because it was how it has always been done in that organization. If someone would have come into that organization and told them that the amount of time they were wasting and showed them the new way, I think the organization would buy in. The second strategy that I would use for communicating the change is to provide everyone with accurate information on the change, it would include how the change is going to happen and how it will affect everyone. I will only send out information that I feel they need to know so I do not overload them. Palmer, Dunford and Akin (2009) state information overload is even more problematic in companies where participants are already in receipt of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Raising the pH strips the H+ shared between the nitrogenous base electronegative centres from the hydrogen bond. The loss of hydrogen bonds between two complementary strands results in separation. The increase in pH will deprotonate the bases and will exist as negatively charged conjugate bases. As the deprotonated species, the hydrogen bonding between the bases G and C; and A and T are eliminated. The curves for all pH values displayed a similar shape. The higher the pH, the sooner the curve reached a plateau i.e. the maximum absorbance was reached. At pH 9.3, the lowest melting temperature of 82°C was seen. At pH 5.4, the highest melting temperature of 90.5°C was seen. This confirms the inverse relationship between Tm and pH conditions of the DNA strand. Hannibal is a better general than Scipio Africanus because he was a master mind with his tactics, great at winning the big battles, and people believed in him and what he was doing. As he always did he constructed a very strategic plan and distracted them by attacking them straight on while he also flanked them from the sides. This results into violence in a later scene with her and Orsino because he thinks that Cesario (Viola) is Olivia s lover. The list of the names of the neighbors was one way Cheever provided concise symbolic resonance to the story. By listing the names of the owners of the pools, it makes the short story seem vague and blurred like Neddy was at the end from the various drinks that he had drunk at the numerous pool owner s houses. It s taught to kids in elementary and middle schools now, but when I was in primary school it was not heavily focused on. There has been shift in priorities between generations, and I feel that it s very hard to get my generation on board with living in a sustainable manner. I once gave a speech on the importance of recycling that almost put the entire class to sleep. I think this is because my generation does not care, it s not their problem, the idea of the earth not supporting them is not something that has been brought to their doorstep, and in a manner of speaking they are unaware that their actions have negative consequences. My ideas for making the Grand View campus more eco friendly is a three fold process fully incorporated to form a closed loop. • 18. Data And The Standard Model Of Its Representation As Well... In this Chapter, we present the background needed to understand the work proposed in this thesis. As our research mainly concerns with securing provenance, Section 2.1 will cover provenance data and the standard model of its representation as well as the applications of securing provenance. Section 2.2 introduces graph databases that will be used later in storing provenance in our prototype. Section 2.3 explores workflow systems and workflow provenance. Section 2.4 illustrates the main security principles that will be tackled in the thesis and inference problem that attacks privacy. Finally, Section 2.5 summarizes the main content of this chapter. 2.1 What is provenance? Provenance (aka lineage) is a descriptive metadata (i.e. data about data). It specifies not only the properties of an object but also the history of deriving this object. As provenance touches many different domains and applications, it has different definitions that represent different views of provenance such as Description of the origins of data and the process by which it arrived at the database [20], Metadata recording the process of experiment workflows, annotations, and notes about experiments [50]. The rationale behind provenance has been long established, for example log files and metadata, but the term provenance is recent and it is gaining popularity particularly in workflow systems. Descriptive metadata only becomes part of provenance when one also specifies its relationship to deriving an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The comparison of observed and expected oak trees through a Poisson analysis will determine the actual dispersion of oaks. Therefore, the statistical hypothesis is, if the observed oak tree dispersion is equal to the expected distribution of oaks it will be determined through the Poisson function. 2. Consequently, certain dispersion configurations may be more beneficial for certain plants. However, clumped distributions are at the mercy of chance, for example, fire or disease could easily decimate all the oaks in a given area if they are isolated. 1. According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of each type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to finance those investments. States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are usually financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the loan plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). Both regions of tribes were forced to be removed from their homeland and were deceived with various treaties. This overall continuous push of Native Americans west contributed to the political and war uprising of Tecumseh. Some issues in contemporary music videos are from the evolution of new technologies, social media and politics. Thus, artists throughout time have taken advantage of music videos in order to use it as a site for debates about politics of representation. Nowadays the majority of music videos are transforming and turning into short films and art in order for the artists to express themselves through this function. A music video that illustrates these media contexts is Justin Timberlake s song What Goes Around . This essay will firstly describe this music video and how it has broadened the definition of the term music video, and then examine how this is relevant to media contexts. Therefore, with new technologies arising in music videos it tends to contribute to changes in ideas of musicianship and performance. On February 7th 2007, the artists Justin Timberlake released his music video to his song What Goes Around which turned out to be a short film as it was nine minutes and twenty two seconds long. It was directed by Samuel Bayer and starred the actress Scarlett Johansson. It features acting, dialogue and of course the song itself. The Catholic religion uses guilt to get its members to abstain from the use of birth control ( Oxtoby 329 ). Many Christian religions try to get their young people to remain innocent and pure by teaching them that sex is a dirty and sinful act outside of marriage. Different types of actuation operate in different ranges of volumetric displacements. 1 Input Pedal Force Input pedal force is generally expressed as a maximum force allowed to generate the desired maximum brake line pressure. Again, there are governing agencies that make recommendations to assist in identifying this value. BRAKE ACTUATION CIRCUITS The system designer can accomplish brake actuation in different ways. The use of a direct means of actuation, such as hydraulic pressure to apply the brakes is but one method of brake actuation. Another type of actuation is reverse modulation or negative braking as it is referred to in the European community. Reverse modulation uses hydraulic pressure to release a spring apply brake. Maximum torque is produced when hydraulic pressure is absent either intentionally or due to system failure. The subject of reverse modulation requires further detailed explanation beyond the scope fo this paper. Also beyond the scope of this paper are pneumatic and vacuum boosted hydraulic circuits as it is felt that the trend is clearly away from them toward full hydraulic circuits. The Bolsheviks gained power and were bound to be challenged for it. A major country that opposed the Bolsheviks were the Social Revolutionaries. When the Revolutionaries were held back by Bolshevik guards, they fired back at them by attacking their Bolshevik government. The countries that opposed the Bolsheviks were the Revolutionaries as mentioned before, the Mensheviks ( who once controlled the Provisional Government), and the Tsarists (who wanted to put Nicholas the second at the throne after rescuing him). The second reason that the civil war started was because of the Czech region. Czech Prisoners were being taken across Russia who in 1918 mutinied, took control of the Trans Siberian Railway, and attacked towards Moscow. Large and powerful armies all over this region ... They grew rapidly in size and by the end of the civil war against the Whites, they had managed to accumulate a military five million soldiers strong. 75% of their total soldiers were peasants by birth. This created a major problem for the Bolsheviks in the social race. The peasant population was so vast that it was thought whoever could gain their vote and popularity would have the most power. In October of 1917 their support had been confined to the working class districts associated with big industry cities. Without any support in the countryside, where most people lived, No one thought that the Bolsheviks would hold power for more than just a few weeks. Many people thought, and for good reason, that the peasants would rise up against them, because of all the power they obtained together. However, the Red Army won the civil war after many blood covered battles they fought to gain the upperhand. One main reason was because of their superior success in things they did with politics and army decisions, compared to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Animation is the process of making drawings and inanimate objects appear to move. It began in the mid 1850s with the use of the zoetrope to simulate movement, graduated to stop action photography as seen in the early cartoons of Walt Disney in the 1930s and has progressed to the computer generated films currently being produced. Digital animation creates moving images using a computer. It is the same process used to produce movement on television and in films. A simple explanation for the process: An image is displayed on the screen; it is quickly replaced with another image that is similar to the first but has shifted ever so slightly. This process is repeated as many times as necessary to complete the desired action. The images are then layered onto a virtual skeleton. For example, the Prius produces 90 percent less harmful emissions than a traditional car (www.ineed2know.org, 2004), which is important to those individuals that are concerned about the environment. Even President Bush seemed to agree that alternative fuel vehicles needed to be further investigated when he endorsed the concept of alternative fuel vehicles and allocated more than a billion dollars toward the transition to hydrogen fuels (www.evrental.com, 2001). On the other hand, these types of cars are not a practical investment if cost and availability are issues. Not only is the price higher, but due to limited interest in hybrids by consumers at this time, there is only a small geographic area where hybrids are being rented. Most locations are situated in California, Arizona, and Washington; therefore, if ABC Rental Cars is looking for a new rental opportunity that could expand quickly, hybrid vehicles may not be the ideal choice. Initial startup costs and maintenance costs are also important factors to consider. The price of a hybrid automobile is higher than that of a comparable gasoline engine powered automobile. According to the Website ineed2know.org, a consumer can expect to pay from $3,500 to $6,000 more for a hybrid vehicle. The money a consumer saves in purchasing a hybrid depends ... A few examples of the temptation in which they were led were when Romeo was persuaded to go to a party without an invitation. That and they decided to get married without telling their parents the day after they met, and Juliet was basically engaged to Paris with a wedding date mere weeks from the day they got married.
