White Labor Vs Black Slaves
Unfree white laborer s experiences were very different compared to the unfree black laborers in the
British North American colonies during the 17th and 18th century. Most of these Black slaves were
captured and sold off. The majority of them originated from Africa. Most White laborers came over to
the British North American colonies from Europe during the time period. Black laborers, had no
rights, and were to obey their master with very harsh punishments if they go against their commands
or do something wrong. They were also working against their will while the white laborers, had
agency with better treatment than the Black slaves. Records of these differences exist in people s and
other historical accounts from the early 17th century and all the way to the late 18th century. Black
labor was cheaper compared to the White indentured servants, who lived by an agreement between
themselves and their master. Most Black laborers were sold by people who captured them, most of
them coming from Africa. Slavery became popular in the colonies when cheap labor was needed in the
colonies since tobacco was grown in massive quantities. A harsh law that was created was called the
Barbados slave code, a basic law that gave slaves no rights at all and subject to their masters with
extreme punishments. First, Black laborers had a harder and cruel life than the White laborers.
Second, most White laborers had agency while the Black laborers did not. Finally, Black laborers were

Public Health And Health Promotion Issues
foundations, with the exception of Beattie s (1991) framework, which enables an explicit analysis of
power and control in the context of the nurse patient relationship (Naidoo and Wills, 2000)
Public health is a pro active field of medicine that is concerned primarily with improving the health of
populations rather than just the health of individuals. The challenge of maintaining the health of
populations is the responsibility of health care professionals and the optimal use of available resources
can assure overall improvement in health promotion within a population. This essay will explore and
critically analyse a practice based scenario introduced in the module analysing specific public health
and health promotion issues. The scenario chosen is of Mary, who has been diagnosed with
tuberculosis. This paper will assess how the health needs assessment is structured by using
epidemiology, exploring the limitations which highlights the public health concern and explore the
wider determinants of health associated to the scenario. This will then link to the public health agenda
including environmental, demographic, social and political drivers which influence policy making. It
will then apply health promotion models and approaches to nursing and public health beliefs including
motivational interviewing and the role of the nurse in supporting behaviour change. This will address
the impact of policy on the nursing role and function including multidisciplinary team, inter

Google s Legal And Ethical Controversy
Defining Google s Legal and Ethical Controversy
Just Google it a saying that has become an integral part of everyday vocabulary. The worlds most
popular search engine can provide people, worldwide with access to information that otherwise would
not be available. Whether you re looking to find pictures of the Holi celebration in India or find a local
NYC eatery where you can have brunch, with just a click of a button, Google always has an answer.
Despite the greatness that Google has brought to the world, on April 15, 2015 the European Union
filed an Antitrust lawsuit against Google. The European Commission addresses four main areas of
concern in Google s operation: potential bias in Google s search results, scraping content from rival
websites, agreements with advertisers that may exclude rival search advertising services and contracts
that limit marketers from using other platforms . I feel that Google has the legal right to favor its own
search results over its competitors and that it is ethical for Google to use its dominance of the search
engine market to its advantage.
Situation Analysis
Google is a technology company operating on a global level. It employs 32,000 employees and
generates annual revenues of about $38 billion .
Google first came underfire for unfair competition concerns in the U.S. during 20132. Before the FTC
conducted a through investigation, Google pledged to alter its business practices. Google s agreement

Feeding wild birds is a big business that Americans spend over 4 billion dollars on each year and 2
billion more on feeders. My bird café is small, and my feeder isn t always filled and ready for a bird

they approach the feeder is interesting. Chickadees are unafraid and friendly. They flutter in, wait for
me to fill the hopper, and chirp away hurry, hurry . Then they ll get a sunflower seed, head to a limb,
hold the seed in their toes and peck it open. Those little bundles can eat a lot too, coming back again

cheerfulness and energy inspire me on days when all else is cold, sleeping and silent. I can understand
why 52.3 million Americans or 39% of us spend money on feeding birds. They re great company and
even pay us back by taking care of pesky insects. Usually when someone starts feeding birds they
continue for life and includes people living in small towns, and rural areas as well as big cities.
Cornell Lab of Ornithology lists feeding wild birds as one of the fastest growing hobbies. People
feeding birds also get involved in other conservation activities and it s a wonderful way to introduce
children to nature. If you haven t fed the wild birds give it a try. You ll be visited by a bunch of

Introduction Political preferences seem an obvious topic of research, as the findings of such research
are highly sought after. As such any research relating to what motivates political orientation would be
very useful. For this reason a great deal of research into the relationship between moral foundation and
political orientation has been done in recent years. For this study political orientation is measured

Whereas a strongly conservatives averaged neutral on Ingroup / loyalty statements, while agreeing
with fairness / Reciprocity, Harm / Care and Purity / Sanctity and strongly agreeing with Authority /
Respect(Graham, Haidt and Nosek 2009). In an earlier paper Haidt and Graham(2007) found that for
extreme liberals, Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity where almost always relivent, however those
who are extremely conservative find that they value all five more equally when making moral choice.
This correlates almost perfectly with the earlier paper from Graham, Haidt and Nosek(2009), showing
that the findings seem highly reliable. Haidt and Graham(2007) go on to say that the recognition of the
final three moral foundations(Ingroup / Loyalty, Authority / Respect and Purity / Sanctity) is key to
allowing more fair and even discussions between the two political standpoints. Furthering on this
Tyran (2004) found that when a person is presented with a voting option in a referendum where the
result would be of financial cost to themselves, but would be morally right, specifically relevant to the
Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity foundations, voters tended to vote for the morally right option.
This demonstrates that the connection between moral

Yellow Ribbon Short Story
Let us use our imagination for a brief moment to connect with these characters to better understand
what the various authors are trying to teach. As I ve illustrated below, figures from the short stories
display exceptional examples of the following lessons. First, pretend to be in a position of loneliness.
Next, imagine decision making, and how others poor decisions can provide a cause and effect. The
three lessons I learned from reading the five stories were loneliness, an absence of love, and the
importance of decision making. The first lesson I would like to emphasize on is loneliness. I love you!
You can t leave me like this (Jones 102)! Is what the widow in Footprints screamed. In that moment of
the story, she is not only struck with sadness but a sudden feeling of intense loneliness. Loneliness is
horrid especially in cases severe as this one. I think this is the lesson the author is trying to teach. In
the story Hate Bracelet the author captures the main character s anguish; in such a manner that it is
disgusting to see Lisa behave the way she does. While Lisa s misery may not all be self inflicted, this
is a perfect illustration of what alienating can cause if sustained for a great length of time. While
reading this next story, I could relate to the seclusion Abigail s mother was giving her. In Yellow
Ribbon the author is educating her readers that forcing isolation on people is atrocious. In my opinion,
the stories I referenced demonstrate great

Educational Achievement In Pima County
Educational attainment within Pima County is referencing the highest level of schooling, on average,
that the population in the county achieves.
In the most general form, the data will include people who are 25+ years old, whether they do or do
not have a high school diploma, and who out of this age group went on to obtain a higher degree. As
seen in Figure 5, close to 49% of people, aged 25 and older, in Pima County received a high school
diploma and 38% of this population obtained a higher degree. To be more specific, when looking at
the percentages of male versus female education attainment they do not vary by much. When

include schools for a range of ages. Some of the districts in this category are Ajo Unified (PK 12th

provided are charter schools. These schools are tuition free state funded public schools, made by
legislation in 1994, that contract with the State Board of Education and the State Board for Charter
Schools (Arizona Department of Education, 2016). Some charter schools in Pima County include La

Next, there is the private school option which is a school that is supported by the care taker of the
child through tuition. Some private schools include Casas Christian School (KG 8th), Desert Christian
High School (9th 12th), and Faith Community Academy (PK 6th). Most of the private schools in the
Pima County are Christian faith based schools. Also, there is the fourth category, homeschooling. To
have the ability to homeschool a child, there are many laws and requirements that need to be followed.
In general, homeschooling is nonpublic school ran by the parent, guardian, a person in custody of the
child, or by instruction from one of these three (Pima County School Superintendent, 2014a). An
Affidavit of Intent that articulates the child is being homeschooled must be filed with the county
school superintendent and have the child s name, birth certificate, address that it will take place, etc.
(Pima County School Superintendent, 2014a). Along with these things, the parents doing the
homeschooling are accountable for their curriculum but must teach the child the subjects of math,
reading, grammar, science, and social studies (Pima County School Superintendent, 2014a). As for the

Goldwasser stated that some teenagers never knew what role Adolf Hitler had in history. She also
stated that teenagers have complete control over what becomes popular from mentioning it on social

not necessarily a bad thing for them to be exposed to. When teenagers don t know major things that

Heroes And Heroines Of The War
AUTHORSHIP This specific document titled Heroes and Heroines of the War was created by Thomas
Nast in 1864. Thomas Nast was born on September 27, 1840 in Germany, but six years later his family
moved to New York to start a fresh life. Even from a young age, Nast was an avid drawer who later in
life would make his greatest ambition into an occupation. He began his career as a political cartoon
artist for the Leslie s Illustrated in 1855 and then in 1859 continued his passion of illustrating at
Harper s Weekly. His work as an artist made a profound effect on many individuals and impacted how
America pondered certain subjects. Nast was a dedicated northerner who believed the southern people
were enemies who did not care for anything else, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unity of the nation would become the concept that would have thought to be the ultimate cause of
the war. The compact of different states built a strong interconnected nation. By producing this
document, Nast hoped to encourage both men and women to stand for the reconstruction of the unison
between the North and the South. His desire was to rally the northern individuals to take arms for
President Lincoln and fight with their fellow brethren. Nast hoped to inspire people to seek their
desires of joining the Northern army in some valiant manner to create an abundant and powerful mass.
He certainly focused on the campaigning of women to take up the role of a nurse or leader in
fundraising on behalf of the union soldiers. Heroes and Heroines of the War reflected the heart of what
it means to be a contributor to society. The men of the North gathered together to bear arms with one
another and fight for the reconnection of the nation. The image revealed the bravery of the men and
the further need of assistance to win the battle. During this time period, women were considered to be
the nurturing and caring person in the household. The U.S. Sanitary Commission allowed women to
live up to their potential, but in a wider spectrum. Thomas Nast valued the compassion and the will
power that was portrayed in the Sanitary Commission. The document demonstrated the value of
women not just becoming a household concept, but spreading to a national level. People of this era

Trench Conditions In Ww1 Essay
Early on in World War 1, protection for troops became a vital aspect of war as a result of the increased
power, accuracy and precision of newly developed weapons. Armies began to dig large corridors in
the ground that became known as trenches. Originally thought to only be a temporary defensive tactic
soon became a primary part of warfare. However, the conditions in the trenches became harsh and
unsanitary due to battle raging around them and the lack of previsions. As a result, illness and disease
spread rapidly and the reality of war as well as the traumatic experiences soldiers faced impacted
troops in the short and long term. As trenches became a more frequent tactic, the simple design was
improved and adjusted to suit the troops, area and task that it would be used for. They became a very
important part of tactical warfare and some layouts could be very complex. Trenches were first used
on the Western Front by both opposing sides. Due to severe exhaustion, dwindling resources and the
horrific death toll, both sides dug into the ground and assumed a defensive post. Most trenches were
dug deep enough that men couldn t be seen from above. Troops were then ordered to seek momentary
cover in the trenches (FIGURE 1) however eventually it became their permanent front line. ... Show

Illnesses such as trench fever and trench foot were common due to rodents, insects and lice. Trench
Foot was a disease caused by wet, muddy and cold trench conditions. This caused damaged sensory
nerves, inflammation and swollen limbs. (FIGURE 4) Similar to Malaria, Trench Fever wasn t a
severe disease however affected an estimated 380,000 520,000 members of the British Army. The
illness was transmitted via various insects found in the trenches. Several attempts were made to find a
treatment however were unsuccessful but could be prevented by dousing clothing into insecticides.

The Controversy In Church
The community I will be focusing on is my church community. The name of the church is called
Intense Deep Bible Church and it was pastored by Willard Abena. About 5 years ago, there was a
controversy in the church which sparked division in the church and also causing the pastor to be
suspended. At this time, the issue was explained thoroughly to the church congregation and a lot of
people were not happy with the results. Whilst the issue was being explained to the church
congregation, the youths and children were asked to leave the church and at that point in time, I was
considered a youth. So I was not able to figure out what was going on and why I haven t seen my
pastor in church for a very long time, until I became and adult at the age of 18.
When I became an adult, I came to the realization that the pastor was removed due to him making
some personal spiritual mistakes which were never disclosed to the public congregation and was not
tolerable by the church leaders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The church community also needs to be addressed on how the new pastor s family was treated and
why it is wrong, especially in an environment where all the members are supposed to feel welcome
and treated like family, according to the biblical scriptures. The family of the new pastor and the new
pastor needs to be apologized to. If they are not apologized to, they may continue to distance
themselves from the church. Another issue is that when an issue like that of the founding pastor came
to pass, the congregation was not well informed because of the privacy of the pastor. Because of this
lack of information, parts of the church community were upset. If the church leadership can work on
giving the church community a more adequate information, it can reduce the confusion that results in
the division of the

Photography In Paul Strand s Essay Photography The New God
Photography and film are becoming more popular every day with people trying to one up each other

Photography the New God, he wanted to make his point that photography was assessable to anyone
and everyone and that man does all the work not the machine. In Extracts from the Work of Art in the
Age of Mechanical Reproduction, Walter Benjamin explains that works of art have always been easily

Film Industry Research Paper
The moving picture was created from a desire to expand our perceptions. The motion picture industry
was a necessary born from a simple format. With the advent of photography between 1816 and 1818
by Frenchman Joseph Niepce, there was a desire for movement which made cinema inevitable. The
first known images were fuzzy images on mental plates. Louis Daguerre also noted as pioneer of
photography; inception of film followed 50 years later. Hollywood, the modern well oiled machine it
is today started with soundless films with no story or plot. The first phase of films only focused on
movement. Overtime, directors grew a desire to create stories, not just random action. Storytelling
began in the early 1900s. In 1903 Edwin Porters created The Great Train Robbery , one of the first
feature action films. Porter told a story of a robbery, chase and inevitable capture of the bad guys.
What short films are today, they were the feature films of yesterday. It was average that a film would
be 5 8 minutes. With the advancement of technology films did get longer, but directecdtors could only
produce one reelers. Filmmakers had to cram an entire movie on one short reel of film. With the
adaption of telling stories, movies goers were mesmerized with the magic and form of film. Only a
handful of small companies outside of New York City. Well known giants like FOX and UNIVERSAL

The Third Leading Cause Of Teenage Suicide In The United...
When a young person starts to feel overwhelmingly hopeless, useless, alone, and unwanted many turn
to suicide. This can become very devastating to family, friends, and people who knew the victim.
Teenage suicide occurs due to many different factors. In today s society people uphold this certain
expectation of how someone should look like. And for those who don t follow these standards or
expectations one is seen as an outsider and worse they are seen as ugly. According to the American
Academy of Pediatrics, suicide is the third leading cause of death for adolescents 15 to 19 years old
and the number of adolescent deaths from suicide in the United States has increased dramatically
during the past few decades. Some of the leading causes for suicides among adolescents is bullying,
parents divorce, loneliness, and abuse. But doctors don t know the definitive cause or explanation for
why kids decide to take their own lives. Having time alone is great and can help many people escape
from everyone and everything around them but when young people spend a long time alone it can also
be harmful. Kids who struggle with emotional problems are more likely to commit suicide, due to

men and women growing up rarely develop the level of independence needed to confront life alone.
Teenagers without friends are far more likely to experience thoughts of suicide than those with a
strong support system. Someone who isn t independent needs a support system or they ll start feeling

Why Is Absolutism Absolute
Introduction
Absolutism could be defined as a form of monarchy that the monarch has absolute power in his
sovereignty. This form based on the divine rights absolute monarch acquired power from God and was

essay will argue that the absolutism was not absolute to a certain extent. The first part of this essay
will theoretically explain absolutism , which was exaggerated by some scholars. There were
limitations of absolute power in theory. This essay will mainly use John Locke s ideas to illustrate it.
In the second part, this essay will demonstrate how absolute power constrained in practice. Different

Network Advantages And Disadvantages
A network is a group of computers and other devices (such as printers, phones,or a television) that are
connected by some type of transmission media. A network can be two computers connected by a cable
in a home office or as large as several thousand computers that are connected across the world.
Networks has two fundamentals known as the peer to peer and client/server. In a peer to peer network,
every computer can communicate with each other but no computer has more power than another.
Every computer is capable of sending and receiving information to and from every other computer.
They are simple to configure and they are often less expensive to set up. The downside is that they are
not flexible and they are not necessarily secure. Client/server network is sometimes used to refer to the
design of a network in which clients rely on servers for resource sharing and processing. This network

Correlation Between Media Multitasking And The Differences...
Abstract
This article investigates the correlation between media multitasking and the differences of working
memory and long term memory in heavy media multitaskers and low media multitaskers. The data
was collected from one hundred forty three participants ranging in ages from 18 35. The study was
conducted from the Stanford University community. The researchers of this study explore the
possibilities of multitasking in relation to working and long term memory. The results showed that
there were four significant findings. A limitation of this study was that the correlation of student
academic outcome and media multitasking was used only by a correlation design study. Although, this
design suggests that a relationship exist between two variables, the study cannot prove that one
variable had a negative or positive effect change in another variable. Keywords: media multitasking
index, HMMs (heavy media multitaskers), LMMs (light media multitaskers)
Media Multitasking and Memory: Differences in Working Memory and Long Term Memory The
world is overrun with the media and multitasking. Therefore, with information so readily accessible
that it seems almost impossible for your working and long term memory to retrieve and hold memory
in the mind. This article investigated how the attention of impulse relates to the level of which
participants multitasked with the media. The study hypothesized that frequent multitasking induces

Essay on The First Dental Adhesive Resins
In the 1962, Bowen first developed the BIS GMA monomer which was first chemically cured to form
chains of polymers. The chemically cured composite was a base pasted mixed with a catalyst which
resulted in problems of proportions and colour stability.
In 1970 s, light cured composites were introduced. UV light (365nm) was first used but was found to
have shallow polymerisation hence was later replaced by blue visible light (427 491nm). Composite
resins developed in the 1970 s contain large filler particles which resulted in poor polishing .
In the 1980 s was when the first microfilled composites were developed. Microfilled composites
composed of 35 50% pre polymerised silica particles with a range of sizes from 0.02 0.04µm and have

But with low filler content, flowable composite experience more polymerisation shrinkage and lower
mechanical properties. Flowable composites can be used for restorations on anterior teeth where there
are minimal occlusal forces, cavity liners for restoration in posterior teeth.
Condensable Composites are classified by their high filler content and have similar physical and
mechanical properties as silver amalgam which are better than hybrid composites. Condensable
composites has good condensability, easily shaped to match tooth anatomy and shape to get good
contact points. But condensable composites have less aesthetic properties in anterior teeth, poor
handling and it is difficult to adapt to previous increments. Hence condensable composites are mainly
used for posterior restorations.
Nanofilled composites are composed of nanomers (particle size of 5 75nm) and nano clusters which
replaces filler particles. The nano filler particles are composed of zirconia and silica particles (particle
size of 5 20nm). The nano clusters size ranges from 0.6 1.3µm. The nano clusters are treated with
silane with helps t bind the nanofllers to the resin. The small size particles result in better physical
properties: less polymerisation shrinkage, less

Characters In 12 Angry Men
In the movie Twelve Angry Men, Henry Fonda plays a character known as jury member number eight,
otherwise also known as Mr. Davis. Henry Fonda s role in the movie for many, may be thought of as
the most important character in the entire movie. Though this statement may be true, the movie also
involves eleven other characters who have huge contributions to the story line. Throughout the movie,
the audience watches twelve jury members discuss the alleged murder trial for an eighteen year old
boy who is being accused of murdering his father. All men, but one agree that the boy is guilty. The
movie 12 Angry Men may cause some people to question their own morals and beliefs, however the
overall outcome of the movie truly shows the importance of optimism, honesty, and standing up for
what you think is right. Henry Fonda plays the roll of jury member number eight, also known as Mr.
Davis.
This character that Henry Fonda plays believes that the boy on trial is not guilty. When questioned by
the other eleven men, Mr. Fonda s character never argued, yelled, accused, or even acted as if he was
right. He remained very optimistic and open mined throughout the entire movie. These qualities his
character plays can be things some people can apply in their own lives and use in everyday situations.
The next character that many people might think of as extremely important would be jury member
number five. This character is important because he relates to the eighteen year old

The Link Between Social Interactions Among Peers And...
Introduction
Problem Formulation
Researchers have been discussing the link between social interactions among peers in school and
academic outcomes for over 40 years (Coleman, 1961). Children are categorized by the people they
associate with. Understanding the way social interactions affect academic achievement is important.
Major issue in the literature on peer pressure quality special mention are: cultural patterns penalizing
academic achievement and changes in the effect of peers over time.
Academics argue that peer pressure effects become important during adolescence (Steinberg, 1996).
Some literature says that is a cultural pattern within the African American and Latino population
where students discourage academic achievement (Ogbu, 1986). The purpose of this study is to
explain academic achievement by analyzing four factors: the peer pressure effect on students, gender,
and student s particular interest for education compared to their peers, and race and ethnicity.
This research relates to social work in many ways. Social workers find this research important because
during the adolescent stage, students are finding their own personal identity and their identity among
their peers. Students are also learning how to socialize. They socialize with peers who may share the
same goals as one another. Students may also socialize with those peers that have the same intellectual
vocabulary as one another.

A Political Cartoon Analysis
Having a Master s degree would be nice. After completing 4 years of college and then going back for
a master s degree and graduating with that is an amazing accomplishment. There is so man benefits
that come with this high degree, more money, better jobs, and more education in the particular work
field as the masters. Let s get this straight, though, going back for a master s degree costs a lot of
money. Just to get a bachelor s degree cost a lot of money so going back to college for more years will
cost a lot more. That s the only downfall of getting a master s degree, the price. In the political cartoon
about a master s degree, the author makes it clear of the downfall of getting that degree which is the
price. He uses color, layout, and characters to make this point very clear. The first notice of this
picture is the color of it. It is not in pretty colors whatsoever. It is two colors, black and white. When
people see black and gray, most people think about back in the day when times were tough and money
was scarce. The black part of the picture brings out the gloom ... Show more content on

In the cartoon, the certain objects and how they are placed shows how the big picture of the cartoon is
proven. When looking at the cartoon, there is a big hand coming from the top right corner, on the
hand, it says lender. Attached to the hand is a chain which is connected to the hands of the graduate.
This chain is handcuffed to the graduate s hand symbolizing that the graduate is stuck and will not be
going anywhere. Also in the photo, the graduate is holding a diploma, but instead of it saying
congratulations, it says DEBT written across it. This depicts that the graduate, since going for a master
s degree, is now in debt. These objects in the image make it very clear that getting a master s degree
will cost a lot of money. The last rhetorical element that proves the author s point is the characters in

Contrasting Views of Douglass, Delaney, and Garnet
Contrasting Views of Douglass, Delany, and Garnet Frederick Douglass had integrationist views.
These included the right of women to vote and to be interested in and involved in politics just as much
as men (Huggins Handlin, 1997). He believed at the time that women were being cheated out of their
rights, and also that the country and political system was being cheated because women were not
having their voices heard. The more he studied the Constitution, the more he decided that it was
against slavery. Before, he had thought the document supported having slaves. From there, Douglass
attacked the hypocrisy that he believed was so strong in the US, along with the hypocrisy that he also
believed was strongly seen in the Christian church (Huggins Handlin, 1997). He advocated for
education, and for making men and women, black and white more equal than they were. During that
time in his life, he called for the court to rule to let black children into school so they could get an
education. Slave rebellions were suggested, but Douglass would not support them. He did not feel as
though violence was the answer to the problems black people faced (Huggins Handlin, 1997). In
contrast to Douglass, Delany and Garnet had nationalist views that were focused on obtaining justice
and equality for them as free men (Levine, 1997; Piersen, 1993). While Delany worked with Douglass
to some extent on a newspaper venture and other movements, most of the work done by Delany was
centered

Breaking Bad and Walter White Essay
Breaking Bad is a TV show about a science instructor, Walter White, turning to cooking
methamphetamine when he finds out that he has terminal cancer, so as to leave some legacy for his
family. The show accompanies Walter as he changes from a compliant and empathetic father to a cold,
merciless drug kingpin through the wrong decisions he makes in life. Vince Gilligan made the show
with a dream of having the hero turn into the adversary as the show advances and to investigate the
subject actions have consequences. In giving Bryan Cranston a part as Walter White, Gilligan picked a
performing artist whose livelihood bend dovetails uncannily with his character. As Walt changes from
such a family man himself into a force eager executioner, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On some level he knows he can t control others, and that learning fills his edginess. In The Fly,
Breaking Bad s most clearly ruminative scene, Walt miracles provided that he can uncover a way out
of the profound mess he s in. I truly believe there exists some combination of words, he tells Jesse.
There must exist certain words in a certain specific order that would explain all of this. I just can t ever
seem to find them. Walt imagines that provided that he can uncover a succession of expressions as
flawlessly requested as the gem designs he uncovered in graduate school, he can legitimize all his
movements to Skyler and repair his broken family maybe much adjust the unalterable wrongs he has
done. However Nietzsche s cautioning about dialect rings a bell again: expressions can t catch what
we without a doubt feel, and we can t control how others will hear even the most. So it is suitable for
that composition, when it s all said and done, appears as if it will exhibit Walt s defeat. The focus
when last we saw him, in the scene Gliding Over All, Hank was using the restroom sitting on the
toilet, finding Walt s replica of Whitman s Leaves of Grass. Five years after the fact of looking for, the
reaction to the mystery of the blue meth falls right into Hank s lap: he opens the book and examines an
etching that joins Walt with Heisenberg. Gliding Over

George Washington And The Revolutionary War
I was glad to hear you made it back to your home safely. After you left, I reflected back on our
conversations about George Washington and the Revolutionary War. Thanks to you and your quest for
knowledge, I have done research on the great general and am happy to pass along my findings to you.
Leading up to the Revolutionary War the colonists were thriving in America. Tobacco was a major
export, and America was making a name on its own globally. There was growing resentment toward
Great Britain over taxes and lack of representation for the colonists. First in war, first in peace, and
first in the hearts of his countrymen. (1) This is the memorial to George Washington by the U.S.
Congress at the time of his death. These words were to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(2) After years of military service, Washington became a good field general, but his understanding of
the political and economic issues related to military power was equally important. He knew his army s
success was dependent on the support of the government. He faced shortages of men, weapons, and
other supplies. His troops would go for long periods without pay. Washington followed congress s will
without defying them, and did not use his popularity to gain the people s support when congress didn t
vote his way. He was challenged with maintaining his troops loyalty to him, the civilian authority, and
the rule of law. During the Revolutionary War, Washington had to deal with mutinies by his troops,
ignore suggestions that he become king, and to stop officers from overthrowing or abandoning the
civil authorities. Washington s ability to handle the challenges off the battlefield made the defeat of the
British possible. (2) Another leadership skill was his good understanding of the geographic factors
affecting the use of military power. He was aware of the surroundings and did not let his troops get
backed into a corner with no way to retreat. (2) He was also aware of his troops inability to protect
specific locations and cities against superior British forces. He began using mobile posts that were less
vulnerable and more effective. Washington also understood the important role of the naval power
along the

Symbolism In The Bloody Chamber
Angela Carter s The Bloody Chamber depicts a woman as the heroic figure who represents
persistence, vigor, and passion as she continually encourages and inevitably saves her daughter from
the grips of death. Carter s attempt to effectively portray a woman as an animal like hero is done so by
the mother as seen progressively throughout the story. At the same age as her daughter now, the
heroine already accomplished so much and created an identity illustrating her beastliness, power,
womanhood, and strength. In The Bloody Chamber , Carter s nameless heroine is in fact the mother
due to her fierce and ferocious attitude as she is explored throughout the story from her daughters
admiring descriptions and her own fearless actions.
The girl is eager to marry the marquis so she can transform into a woman and develop a strong
identity as her mother has. The girl admiringly notices that her mother is eagle featured, indomitable,
which illustrates a fierce and tough exterior that correlates to her personality (Carter 2). Boasting that
her mother outfaced a junkful of Chinese pirates, nursed a village through a visitation of the plague,
shot a man eating tiger with her own hand, as this depicts the girl s mother as a strong independent
character who stands tall in the face of adversity (Carter 2). Her beastliness is evident as we are now
aware that the mother has killed a tiger with her very own hands and she would not mind doing it
again. After the father died, the mother was distraught but prevailed through her misery able to grow
into an even stronger woman and mother for her daughter. As the girl reflects on such a difficult
period in their lives we are able to see how much her mother s growth also affected her as she states,
my mother... had gladly, scandalously, defiantly, beggared herself for love... grown magnificently
eccentric in hardship which illustrates her mother did not allow her grief to control her or inhibit her
abilities to be a mom (Carter 2). Being a single parent helped her flourish as a mother and as a person.
The mother is already portrayed as a strong female figure before this information is introduced but
after the audience gains this knowledge about her, it is clear that the mother is

  • 2. White Labor Vs Black Slaves Unfree white laborer s experiences were very different compared to the unfree black laborers in the British North American colonies during the 17th and 18th century. Most of these Black slaves were captured and sold off. The majority of them originated from Africa. Most White laborers came over to the British North American colonies from Europe during the time period. Black laborers, had no rights, and were to obey their master with very harsh punishments if they go against their commands or do something wrong. They were also working against their will while the white laborers, had agency with better treatment than the Black slaves. Records of these differences exist in people s and other historical accounts from the early 17th century and all the way to the late 18th century. Black labor was cheaper compared to the White indentured servants, who lived by an agreement between themselves and their master. Most Black laborers were sold by people who captured them, most of them coming from Africa. Slavery became popular in the colonies when cheap labor was needed in the colonies since tobacco was grown in massive quantities. A harsh law that was created was called the Barbados slave code, a basic law that gave slaves no rights at all and subject to their masters with extreme punishments. First, Black laborers had a harder and cruel life than the White laborers. Second, most White laborers had agency while the Black laborers did not. Finally, Black laborers were often cheated by ... • 3. Public Health And Health Promotion Issues foundations, with the exception of Beattie s (1991) framework, which enables an explicit analysis of power and control in the context of the nurse patient relationship (Naidoo and Wills, 2000) Public health is a pro active field of medicine that is concerned primarily with improving the health of populations rather than just the health of individuals. The challenge of maintaining the health of populations is the responsibility of health care professionals and the optimal use of available resources can assure overall improvement in health promotion within a population. This essay will explore and critically analyse a practice based scenario introduced in the module analysing specific public health and health promotion issues. The scenario chosen is of Mary, who has been diagnosed with tuberculosis. This paper will assess how the health needs assessment is structured by using epidemiology, exploring the limitations which highlights the public health concern and explore the wider determinants of health associated to the scenario. This will then link to the public health agenda including environmental, demographic, social and political drivers which influence policy making. It will then apply health promotion models and approaches to nursing and public health beliefs including motivational interviewing and the role of the nurse in supporting behaviour change. This will address the impact of policy on the nursing role and function including multidisciplinary team, inter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Google s Legal And Ethical Controversy Defining Google s Legal and Ethical Controversy Just Google it a saying that has become an integral part of everyday vocabulary. The worlds most popular search engine can provide people, worldwide with access to information that otherwise would not be available. Whether you re looking to find pictures of the Holi celebration in India or find a local NYC eatery where you can have brunch, with just a click of a button, Google always has an answer. Despite the greatness that Google has brought to the world, on April 15, 2015 the European Union filed an Antitrust lawsuit against Google. The European Commission addresses four main areas of concern in Google s operation: potential bias in Google s search results, scraping content from rival websites, agreements with advertisers that may exclude rival search advertising services and contracts that limit marketers from using other platforms . I feel that Google has the legal right to favor its own search results over its competitors and that it is ethical for Google to use its dominance of the search engine market to its advantage. Situation Analysis Google is a technology company operating on a global level. It employs 32,000 employees and generates annual revenues of about $38 billion . Google first came underfire for unfair competition concerns in the U.S. during 20132. Before the FTC conducted a through investigation, Google pledged to alter its business practices. Google s agreement eased the Federal Trade ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My bird café is small, and my feeder isn t always filled and ready for a bird and squirrel all day buffet. I m more of a let it get empty and then I ll try to fill it in a couple days bird feeder. I do love watching them at the platform feeder, the most common type purchased. Even how they approach the feeder is interesting. Chickadees are unafraid and friendly. They flutter in, wait for me to fill the hopper, and chirp away hurry, hurry . Then they ll get a sunflower seed, head to a limb, hold the seed in their toes and peck it open. They re cheerfulness and energy inspire me on days when all else is cold, sleeping and silent. I can understand why 52.3 million Americans or 39% of us spend money on feeding birds. They re great company and even pay us back by taking care of pesky insects. Usually when someone starts feeding birds they continue for life and includes people living in small towns, and rural areas as well as big cities. Cornell Lab of Ornithology lists feeding wild birds as one of the fastest growing hobbies. People feeding birds also get involved in other conservation activities and it s a wonderful way to introduce children to nature. If you haven t fed the wild birds give it a try. The association between moral foundation and political orientation in Australia: Do the American studies carry over to an Australian Population? HAYDEN TIPPING 100594202 Swinburne University of Technology Psych 101 Assesment 1 Due Date: 31st August 2015 Tutorial: Thursday 4.30 5.30 Introduction Political preferences seem an obvious topic of research, as the findings of such research are highly sought after. As such any research relating to what motivates political orientation would be very useful. For this reason a great deal of research into the relationship between moral foundation and political orientation has been done in recent years. For this study political orientation is measured using a 7 point scale from liberal to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whereas a strongly conservatives averaged neutral on Ingroup / loyalty statements, while agreeing with fairness / Reciprocity, Harm / Care and Purity / Sanctity and strongly agreeing with Authority / Respect(Graham, Haidt and Nosek 2009). In an earlier paper Haidt and Graham(2007) found that for extreme liberals, Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity where almost always relivent, however those who are extremely conservative find that they value all five more equally when making moral choice. This correlates almost perfectly with the earlier paper from Graham, Haidt and Nosek(2009), showing that the findings seem highly reliable. Haidt and Graham(2007) go on to say that the recognition of the final three moral foundations(Ingroup / Loyalty, Authority / Respect and Purity / Sanctity) is key to allowing more fair and even discussions between the two political standpoints. Furthering on this Tyran (2004) found that when a person is presented with a voting option in a referendum where the result would be of financial cost to themselves, but would be morally right, specifically relevant to the Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity foundations, voters tended to vote for the morally right option. This demonstrates that the connection between moral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Yellow Ribbon Short Story Let us use our imagination for a brief moment to connect with these characters to better understand what the various authors are trying to teach. As I ve illustrated below, figures from the short stories display exceptional examples of the following lessons. First, pretend to be in a position of loneliness. Next, imagine decision making, and how others poor decisions can provide a cause and effect. The three lessons I learned from reading the five stories were loneliness, an absence of love, and the importance of decision making. The first lesson I would like to emphasize on is loneliness. I love you! You can t leave me like this (Jones 102)! Is what the widow in Footprints screamed. In that moment of the story, she is not only struck with sadness but a sudden feeling of intense loneliness. Loneliness is horrid especially in cases severe as this one. I think this is the lesson the author is trying to teach. In the story Hate Bracelet the author captures the main character s anguish; in such a manner that it is disgusting to see Lisa behave the way she does. While Lisa s misery may not all be self inflicted, this is a perfect illustration of what alienating can cause if sustained for a great length of time. While reading this next story, I could relate to the seclusion Abigail s mother was giving her. In Yellow Ribbon the author is educating her readers that forcing isolation on people is atrocious. In my opinion, the stories I referenced demonstrate great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By producing this document, Nast hoped to encourage both men and women to stand for the reconstruction of the unison between the North and the South. His desire was to rally the northern individuals to take arms for President Lincoln and fight with their fellow brethren. Nast hoped to inspire people to seek their desires of joining the Northern army in some valiant manner to create an abundant and powerful mass. He certainly focused on the campaigning of women to take up the role of a nurse or leader in fundraising on behalf of the union soldiers. The men of the North gathered together to bear arms with one another and fight for the reconnection of the nation. • 11. Trench Conditions In Ww1 Essay Early on in World War 1, protection for troops became a vital aspect of war as a result of the increased power, accuracy and precision of newly developed weapons. Armies began to dig large corridors in the ground that became known as trenches. Originally thought to only be a temporary defensive tactic soon became a primary part of warfare. However, the conditions in the trenches became harsh and unsanitary due to battle raging around them and the lack of previsions. As a result, illness and disease spread rapidly and the reality of war as well as the traumatic experiences soldiers faced impacted troops in the short and long term. As trenches became a more frequent tactic, the simple design was improved and adjusted to suit the troops, area and task that it would be used for. They became a very important part of tactical warfare and some layouts could be very complex. Trenches were first used on the Western Front by both opposing sides. Due to severe exhaustion, dwindling resources and the horrific death toll, both sides dug into the ground and assumed a defensive post. Most trenches were dug deep enough that men couldn t be seen from above. Troops were then ordered to seek momentary cover in the trenches (FIGURE 1) however eventually it became their permanent front line. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 12. The Controversy In Church The community I will be focusing on is my church community. The name of the church is called Intense Deep Bible Church and it was pastored by Willard Abena. About 5 years ago, there was a controversy in the church which sparked division in the church and also causing the pastor to be suspended. At this time, the issue was explained thoroughly to the church congregation and a lot of people were not happy with the results. Whilst the issue was being explained to the church congregation, the youths and children were asked to leave the church and at that point in time, I was considered a youth. So I was not able to figure out what was going on and why I haven t seen my pastor in church for a very long time, until I became and adult at the age of 18. When I became an adult, I came to the realization that the pastor was removed due to him making some personal spiritual mistakes which were never disclosed to the public congregation and was not tolerable by the church leaders. ... Another issue is that when an issue like that of the founding pastor came to pass, the congregation was not well informed because of the privacy of the pastor. Because of this lack of information, parts of the church community were upset. If the church leadership can work on giving the church community a more adequate information, it can reduce the confusion that results in the division of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Photography In Paul Strand s Essay Photography The New God Photography and film are becoming more popular every day with people trying to one up each other and also trying to figure out new and inventive ways to use the camera. In Paul Strand s essay Photography the New God, he wanted to make his point that photography was assessable to anyone and everyone and that man does all the work not the machine. In Extracts from the Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, Walter Benjamin explains that works of art have always been easily reproduced for profit and how film will be the most powerful instrument when it comes to new forms of art. • 14. Film Industry Research Paper The moving picture was created from a desire to expand our perceptions. The motion picture industry was a necessary born from a simple format. With the advent of photography between 1816 and 1818 by Frenchman Joseph Niepce, there was a desire for movement which made cinema inevitable. The first known images were fuzzy images on mental plates. Louis Daguerre also noted as pioneer of photography; inception of film followed 50 years later. Hollywood, the modern well oiled machine it is today started with soundless films with no story or plot. The first phase of films only focused on movement. Overtime, directors grew a desire to create stories, not just random action. Storytelling began in the early 1900s. In 1903 Edwin Porters created The Great Train Robbery , one of the first feature action films. Porter told a story of a robbery, chase and inevitable capture of the bad guys. What short films are today, they were the feature films of yesterday. It was average that a film would be 5 8 minutes. With the advancement of technology films did get longer, but directecdtors could only produce one reelers. Filmmakers had to cram an entire movie on one short reel of film. With the adaption of telling stories, movies goers were mesmerized with the magic and form of film. Only a handful of small companies outside of New York City. A network can be two computers connected by a cable in a home office or as large as several thousand computers that are connected across the world. Networks has two fundamentals known as the peer to peer and client/server. In a peer to peer network, every computer can communicate with each other but no computer has more power than another. Every computer is capable of sending and receiving information to and from every other computer. They are simple to configure and they are often less expensive to set up. The downside is that they are not flexible and they are not necessarily secure. Client/server network is sometimes used to refer to the design of a network in which clients rely on servers for resource sharing and processing. This network share some common elements, including clients, servers, workstations. Clients take on the form of personal computers also known as smartphones and workstations . A network that uses server to enable clients to share data is known as a client/server network. The data was collected from one hundred forty three participants ranging in ages from 18 35. The study was conducted from the Stanford University community. The researchers of this study explore the possibilities of multitasking in relation to working and long term memory. The results showed that there were four significant findings. A limitation of this study was that the correlation of student academic outcome and media multitasking was used only by a correlation design study. Although, this design suggests that a relationship exist between two variables, the study cannot prove that one variable had a negative or positive effect change in another variable. The chemically cured composite was a base pasted mixed with a catalyst which resulted in problems of proportions and colour stability. In 1970 s, light cured composites were introduced. UV light (365nm) was first used but was found to have shallow polymerisation hence was later replaced by blue visible light (427 491nm). Composite resins developed in the 1970 s contain large filler particles which resulted in poor polishing . In the 1980 s was when the first microfilled composites were developed. Condensable composites has good condensability, easily shaped to match tooth anatomy and shape to get good contact points. • 24. The Link Between Social Interactions Among Peers And... Introduction Problem Formulation Researchers have been discussing the link between social interactions among peers in school and academic outcomes for over 40 years (Coleman, 1961). Children are categorized by the people they associate with. Understanding the way social interactions affect academic achievement is important. Major issue in the literature on peer pressure quality special mention are: cultural patterns penalizing academic achievement and changes in the effect of peers over time. Academics argue that peer pressure effects become important during adolescence (Steinberg, 1996). Some literature says that is a cultural pattern within the African American and Latino population where students discourage academic achievement (Ogbu, 1986). The purpose of this study is to explain academic achievement by analyzing four factors: the peer pressure effect on students, gender, and student s particular interest for education compared to their peers, and race and ethnicity. This research relates to social work in many ways. Social workers find this research important because during the adolescent stage, students are finding their own personal identity and their identity among their peers. Students are also learning how to socialize. They socialize with peers who may share the same goals as one another. Students may also socialize with those peers that have the same intellectual vocabulary as one another. Literature Review Introduction The purpose of this study is to ... These included the right of women to vote and to be interested in and involved in politics just as much as men (Huggins Handlin, 1997). He believed at the time that women were being cheated out of their rights, and also that the country and political system was being cheated because women were not having their voices heard. The more he studied the Constitution, the more he decided that it was against slavery. Before, he had thought the document supported having slaves. From there, Douglass attacked the hypocrisy that he believed was so strong in the US, along with the hypocrisy that he also believed was strongly seen in the Christian church (Huggins Handlin, 1997). He advocated for education, and for making men and women, black and white more equal than they were. During that time in his life, he called for the court to rule to let black children into school so they could get an education. Slave rebellions were suggested, but Douglass would not support them. He did not feel as though violence was the answer to the problems black people faced (Huggins Handlin, 1997). In contrast to Douglass, Delany and Garnet had nationalist views that were focused on obtaining justice and equality for them as free men (Levine, 1997; Piersen, 1993). Symbolism In The Bloody Chamber Angela Carter s The Bloody Chamber depicts a woman as the heroic figure who represents persistence, vigor, and passion as she continually encourages and inevitably saves her daughter from the grips of death. Carter s attempt to effectively portray a woman as an animal like hero is done so by the mother as seen progressively throughout the story. At the same age as her daughter now, the heroine already accomplished so much and created an identity illustrating her beastliness, power, womanhood, and strength. In The Bloody Chamber , Carter s nameless heroine is in fact the mother due to her fierce and ferocious attitude as she is explored throughout the story from her daughters admiring descriptions and her own fearless actions. The girl is eager to marry the marquis so she can transform into a woman and develop a strong identity as her mother has. The girl admiringly notices that her mother is eagle featured, indomitable, which illustrates a fierce and tough exterior that correlates to her personality (Carter 2). Boasting that her mother outfaced a junkful of Chinese pirates, nursed a village through a visitation of the plague, shot a man eating tiger with her own hand, as this depicts the girl s mother as a strong independent character who stands tall in the face of adversity (Carter 2). Her beastliness is evident as we are now aware that the mother has killed a tiger with her very own hands and she would not mind doing it again. After the father died, the mother was distraught but prevailed through her misery able to grow into an even stronger woman and mother for her daughter. As the girl reflects on such a difficult period in their lives we are able to see how much her mother s growth also affected her as she states, my mother... had gladly, scandalously, defiantly, beggared herself for love... grown magnificently eccentric in hardship which illustrates her mother did not allow her grief to control her or inhibit her abilities to be a mom (Carter 2).
