INTRODUCTION
The main intension of this project is to find the
accident spot at any place and intimating it
through the GPS and GSM networks
The hardware components required for this
project are Arduino Uno microcontroller,
Ultrasonic sensor, GPS module, GSM module, LCD.
In this project the using software is ARDUINO IDE.
INTRODUCTION….
The GPS based vehicle accident identification
module contains Ultrasonic sensor, GSM module
and GPS module are connected to the
microcontroller.
Global system for mobile communication (GSM)
technology is used to establish cellular
connection.
Global Postioning System(GPS) is used to trace
the position of the vehicle.
PREVIOUS SYSTEM
When an accident occurs, the information only is sent
through GSM but there is no possibility to send the
location of the spot.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
This project presents an automotive localization system
using GPS and GSM-SMS services.

Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the
ATmega328P.
It has

20 MIPS at 20 MHz

LCD
LCD display used here is having 16x2 size. It
means 2 lines each with 16 characters.
There are pins along one side of the small
printed board used for connection to the
microcontroller.
There are total of 14 pins marked with
numbers (16 in case the background light
is built in).
Their function is described in the below,

GSM
GSM stands for Global System for Mobile
Communication
A GSM modem is a wireless modem that
works with a GSM wireless network.
A wireless modem behaves like a dial-up
modem
The difference between them is that a dial-
up modem sends and receives data
through of fixed telephone line while a
wireless modem sends and receives data
through radio waves.
GSM
The GSM modem used to provide communication from one
place to other.
The GSM module using consist of a Mobile station and SIM.
The commands that are using to provide communication are
AT Commands.
The AT commends specifies the GSM technology and are
related to SMS service.
GPS MODULE
GPS stands for Global Positioning System.
The Global positioning system is a space based satellite
navigation system that provides location and time
information.
It is maintained by United States government .
Measure the distance between the GPS receiver with the
satellite GPS by measuring time that radio waves travel
from satellite to receiver.
Formula : Distance = Speed * Time
BUZZER
A Buzzer or Beeper is an audio signaling device ,
which may be Mechanical , electro-mechanical, or
electronic .
Typical uses of buzzers include alarms , timers and
conformation of user input such as mouse click or
keystroke.
APPLICATIONS:
• Game shows
• Microwave ovens and other household appliances.
• Sporting events
ULTRASONIC SENSOR
Ultrasonic sensor also known as Transceivers when they both
send and receive .
It works on principle similar to SONAR which evaluate
attributes of a target by interpreting the Echoes from sound
waves Respectively.
Ultrasonic sensor generate high frequency sound waves and
evaluate the Echo which is received back by the sensor.
Sensors calculate the time interval between sending the signal
and receiving the echo to determine the distance to an object .
DETECTORS:
Piezoelectric crystals can be used as ultrasonic detectors .
POWER SUPPLY
The input to the circuit is applied from the regulated power supply.
The a.c input i.e.230V from the mains supply is step down by the transformer to 12V
and is fed to a rectifier.
The output obtained from the rectifier is a pulsating d.c voltage. So in order to get a
pure d.c voltage, the output voltage from the rectifier is fed to a filter to remove any
a.c components present even after rectification.
Now, this voltage is given to a voltage regulator to obtain a pure constant dc voltage.

L293D DRIVER IC
L293D is a dual H-Bridge motor driver, So with one IC we
can interface two DC motors which can be controlled in both
clockwise and counter clockwise direction and if you have
motor with fix direction of motion the you can make use of
all the four I/Os to connect up to four DC motors.
L293D has output current of 600mA and peak output current
of 1.2A per channel. Moreover for protection of circuit from
back EMF output diodes are included within the IC.
The output supply (VCC2) has a wide range from 4.5V to
36V, which has made L293D a best choice.
A simple schematic for interfacing a DC motor using L293D
is shown beside.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT

 Arduino C also known as Embedded Software.
Embedded software is computer software written to control
machines or devices that are not runs on and has time and
memory constraints.
This term is sometimes used interchangeably with firmware,
although firmware can also be applied to ROM-based code on a
computer, on top of which the OS runs, whereas embedded
software is typically the only software on the device.
ADVANTAGES
The vehicle which has
undergone to an accident can
be identified by using tracking
technology without any delay.
The immediate medication will
be provided to the accident
victims in the remote areas.
DISADVANTAGES
✕In some places where
there is no provision of
GSM networks it is difficult
for communication.
FUTURE SCOPE
✿This system can be interfaced with vehicle Airbag system that
prevents vehicle occupants from striking interior objects such
as the steering wheel or window.
✿This can also be developed by interconnecting the camera to
the controller module that takes the photograph of the
accident spot that makes the tracker easier.

INTRODUCTION The main intension of this project is to find the accident spot at any place and intimating it through the GPS and GSM networks The hardware components required for this project are Arduino Uno microcontroller, Ultrasonic sensor, GPS module, GSM module, LCD. In this project the using software is ARDUINO IDE.
  • 5. INTRODUCTION…. The GPS based vehicle accident identification module contains Ultrasonic sensor, GSM module and GPS module are connected to the microcontroller. Global system for mobile communication (GSM) technology is used to establish cellular connection. Global Postioning System(GPS) is used to trace the position of the vehicle.
  • 6. PREVIOUS SYSTEM When an accident occurs, the information only is sent through GSM but there is no possibility to send the location of the spot.
  • 7. PROPOSED SYSTEM This project presents an automotive localization system using GPS and GSM-SMS services.

  • 10. ARDUINO UNO Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P. It has 1.14 Digital input/output pins 2.6 Analog pins 3.16 MHz quartz crystal 4.USB connection Clear programming environment and simple.
  • 11. ATMEGA328P 8 Bit microcontroller,131 instructions 20 MIPS at 20 MHz 32KB Flash,2 KB RAM 6 channels 10bit ADC USART ,SPI , I2C . 23 Programmable I/O lines 1.8 – 5.5 V
  • 12. LCD LCD display used here is having 16x2 size. It means 2 lines each with 16 characters. There are pins along one side of the small printed board used for connection to the microcontroller. There are total of 14 pins marked with numbers (16 in case the background light is built in). Their function is described in the below, Function Pin Number Name Logic State Description Ground 1 Vss - 0V Power supply 2 Vdd - +5V Contrast 3 Vee - 0 – Vdd Control of operating 4 RS 0 1 D0 – D7 are interpreted as commands D0 – D7 are interpreted as data

GSM GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communication A GSM modem is a wireless modem that works with a GSM wireless network. A wireless modem behaves like a dial-up modem The difference between them is that a dial- up modem sends and receives data through of fixed telephone line while a wireless modem sends and receives data through radio waves.
  • 14. GSM The GSM modem used to provide communication from one place to other. The GSM module using consist of a Mobile station and SIM. The commands that are using to provide communication are AT Commands. The AT commends specifies the GSM technology and are related to SMS service.
  • 15. GPS MODULE GPS stands for Global Positioning System. The Global positioning system is a space based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information. It is maintained by United States government . Measure the distance between the GPS receiver with the satellite GPS by measuring time that radio waves travel from satellite to receiver. Formula : Distance = Speed * Time
  • 16. BUZZER A Buzzer or Beeper is an audio signaling device , which may be Mechanical , electro-mechanical, or electronic . Typical uses of buzzers include alarms , timers and conformation of user input such as mouse click or keystroke. APPLICATIONS: • Game shows • Microwave ovens and other household appliances. • Sporting events
  • 17. ULTRASONIC SENSOR Ultrasonic sensor also known as Transceivers when they both send and receive . It works on principle similar to SONAR which evaluate attributes of a target by interpreting the Echoes from sound waves Respectively. Ultrasonic sensor generate high frequency sound waves and evaluate the Echo which is received back by the sensor. Sensors calculate the time interval between sending the signal and receiving the echo to determine the distance to an object . DETECTORS: Piezoelectric crystals can be used as ultrasonic detectors .
  • 18. POWER SUPPLY The input to the circuit is applied from the regulated power supply. The a.c input i.e.230V from the mains supply is step down by the transformer to 12V and is fed to a rectifier. The output obtained from the rectifier is a pulsating d.c voltage. So in order to get a pure d.c voltage, the output voltage from the rectifier is fed to a filter to remove any a.c components present even after rectification. Now, this voltage is given to a voltage regulator to obtain a pure constant dc voltage. 230V AC 50Hz D.C Output Step down transformer FilterBridge Rectifier Regulator
  • 19. L293D DRIVER IC L293D is a dual H-Bridge motor driver, So with one IC we can interface two DC motors which can be controlled in both clockwise and counter clockwise direction and if you have motor with fix direction of motion the you can make use of all the four I/Os to connect up to four DC motors. L293D has output current of 600mA and peak output current of 1.2A per channel. Moreover for protection of circuit from back EMF output diodes are included within the IC. The output supply (VCC2) has a wide range from 4.5V to 36V, which has made L293D a best choice. A simple schematic for interfacing a DC motor using L293D is shown beside.
  • 21. ARDUINO C  Arduino C also known as Embedded Software. Embedded software is computer software written to control machines or devices that are not runs on and has time and memory constraints. This term is sometimes used interchangeably with firmware, although firmware can also be applied to ROM-based code on a computer, on top of which the OS runs, whereas embedded software is typically the only software on the device.
  • 22. ADVANTAGES The vehicle which has undergone to an accident can be identified by using tracking technology without any delay. The immediate medication will be provided to the accident victims in the remote areas. DISADVANTAGES ✕In some places where there is no provision of GSM networks it is difficult for communication.
  • 23. FUTURE SCOPE ✿This system can be interfaced with vehicle Airbag system that prevents vehicle occupants from striking interior objects such as the steering wheel or window. ✿This can also be developed by interconnecting the camera to the controller module that takes the photograph of the accident spot that makes the tracker easier.
