This document summarizes a GSM modem-based data acquisition system. The system uses an AVR microcontroller and 8-channel ADC to continuously monitor sensors for parameters like temperature, rainfall, and humidity. It sends the sensor data via SMS to a mobile number every 10 minutes using a GSM modem connected to the microcontroller. The received data is stored on a PC database. The system allows remote monitoring of processes from distant locations without site visits. It can be used in industries and home automation for applications like monitoring and control.

The mechanical arrangement is arranged to the robot as a robotic car using solar energy. This project handles with two operations. One hand Autonomous, based on sensor application robotic car moves itself by avoiding an obstacle and to move in its paths. It explains the method of interfacing solar panel, relay circuit board, IR sensor to the car and how to send the command to the microcontroller to drive the car autonomously. On the other hand, it controls using BLUETOOTH modem, in order to control the robotic car using BLUETOOTH, the user has to send the predefined messages to the modem. When the modem receives these predefined messages, it intimates the same to the microcontroller. The microcontroller upon receiving the information from the modem acts in accordance with the message, making it a highly automated application.
FPGA based synchronous multi-channel PWM generator for humanoid robot IJECEIAES
In this paper, synchronous multi-channel pulse width modulation (PWM) generator for driving servo motors of humanoid robot was proposed. In an application, the humanoid robot requires smooth and beautiful movement, therefore the PWM signal for each servo motor must be synchronized. Since microcontroller (slave) has no enough channels to generate synchronous PWMs for 32 servo motors, field programmable gate array (FPGA) was used as slave for the humanoid robot. The FPGA was controlled by microcontroller (master) using serial communication. Simulation results show the system can perform serial communication, synchronize, and convert data well. The system can also generate PWM simultaneously with accurate duty cycle and fix period of 20ms.

"Automatic Intelligent Plant Irrigation System using GSM and ARDUINO BOARD."Disha Modi
Automatic irrigation is a form of irrigation system that incorporates the theory of control, power of wireless technology and feedback system with irrigation. The aim of our project is not only to minimize this manual intervention by the farmer in farm field, but also to successfully water garden plants planted in pots too. Which is why we are using micro- controller based Automated Irrigation system will serve the following purposes: 1) As there is no un-planned usage of water, a lot of water is saved from being wasted. 2) The irrigation is done only when there is not enough moisture in the soil and the microcontroller decides when should the pump be turned on/off, saves a lot time for the farmers. This also gives much needed rest to the farmers and helps, as they don’t have to go and turn the pump on/off manually. 3)This irrigation system can be monitor by user wirelessly. User can receive notification and can provide proper commands via his cell phone whenever necessary.

Advanced Automation System in Industrial Applications Using PIC Microcontrol...IJMER
The main aim of this paper is to design and develop an advanced automation system in the
industries. In this technique we are using the GSM modem which have the SIM card present in it, the
user can send message on the 10 digit SIM number using the cell phone from any part of the world. The
micro controller is programmed using the embedded C. when the user will send the message to a
particular device that particular device will be on or we can also off the device. Example if the motor is
in over voltage, under voltage, over current in that time the microcontroller will trip the circuit and give
the message feedback to the user. The micro controller will read the temp from the sensor and it will
display the same on the LCD when the incoming temp crosses the set limit the micro controller will turn
OFF the device and will send the message to owner using the SIM card present in the GSM modem. We
can also check the continuous status of the device.

Global System for Mobile Communication Based Smart Home Security SystemIJERA Editor
Home security system is needed for occupants' convenience and safety. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of an affordable, low power consumption, and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) based wireless home security system. In existing system, the home network is engaged with non-wireless technology, where the installation and maintenance is difficult. So the system cost is very high. In our proposed system, these difficulties are overcome by introducing a wireless home network which contains a GPRS Gateway and three kinds of security nodes namely door security node, anti intrusion node and SMS node to inform the user. The nodes are easy installing. All the three nodes are connected to the microcontroller.

GSM BASED PREPAID ENERGY METER BILLING VIA SMSSRINIVAS REDDY
The project is designed for reading electrical energy consumed in units and in rupees to display on an LCD screen to the user. This data is also provided to the electrical department using GSM technology for billing purposes. Owing to high electricity cost these days it becomes necessary for the consumer to know as to how much electricity is consumed to control electricity bill within his budget by recharging the energy meter units via S.M.S .
Finally when the energy meter coming to zero user can again recharge according to the purpose used. In this proposed system, the consumer will get his energy consumption data on real time basis on a LCD display. The same data is sent through GSM modem to the electricity department via SMS. A microcontroller of 8051 family is interfaced to the energy meter to get the Watt Hour pulses.
Further this project can be enhanced by to control the electrical appliances remotely via SMS. Also, the electricity department can send the monthly bill amount over SMS to the receiving unit for consumer information.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Abstract
GSM Modem Based Data Acquisition is a process control system .it help in collecting data from various processes
present at distant places. It helps us to monitor parameters like temperature ,rainfall ,humidity etc. the Service personnel need
not to visit distant sites for data collection .the data is collected automatically formed a data base and stored in a PC. It can be
used in industries as well as in home automation.
Key Words: GSM Modem ,SIM card, Arduino Board, Serial cable, PC.
1. Introduction
This system uses AVR microcontroller ATmega 644P. the inbuilt ADC receives analog data from sensors and
converts it to digital data and passes it to the microcontroller . the sensors continuously sends data from the distant site. This
system is interfaced with a GSM modem. this system senses the conditions continuously and a message is sent to a mobile no.
using SMS on LCD every 10 minutes. Using this system, the operator can monitor the signals from any where. The GSM
modem is connected to microcontroller using RS232 interface. Whenever an SMS is sent to the GSM modem, the GSM
modem receives the data and sends to microcontroller. After receiving the signal from the microcontroller it processes the data
and sends the read data to mobile number through GSM modem. The collected data is formed a database and stored in a pc.
The received data is displayed on the LCD. 16X 2 LCD is provided for user interface.

Mobile Switching Centre is used for short messages originated with a mobile on that network. The SMS-GMSC role is
similar to that of the GMSC, whereas the SMS-IWMSC provides a fixed access point to the Short Message Service
Centre.
3. GSM Modem
A GSM modem is a specialized type of modem which accepts a SIM card, and operates over a subscription to a mobile
operator, just like a mobile phone. From the mobile operator perspective, a GSM modem looks just like a mobile phone.
When a GSM modem is connected to a computer, this allows the computer to use the GSM modem to communicate over the
mobile network. While these GSM modems are most frequently used to provide mobile internet connectivity, many of them
can also be used for sending and receiving SMS and MMS messages.GSM modem must support an “extended AT command
set” for sending/receiving SMS messages. GSM modems can be a quick and efficient way to get started with SMS, because a
special subscription to an SMS service provider is not required. In most parts of the world, GSM modems are a cost effective
solution for receiving SMS messages, because the sender is paying for the message delivery.
To begin, insert a GSM SIM card into the modem and connect it to an available USB port on your computer.

4. Hardware- The Arduino
Arduino is a tool for the design and development of embedded computer systems, consisting of a simple open
hardware design for a single-board microcontroller, with embedded I/O support and a standard programming language. An
Arduino is a tool for making computers that can sense and control more of the physical world.
Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling
lights, motors, and other actuators. The microcontroller on the board is programmed using the Arduino programming
language(based on Wiring) and the Arduino development environment (based on Processing).
4.1 RS 232 Circuit
Since RS232 is not compatible with microcontrollers we need a voltage converter to convert the RS232’s signals to
TTL voltage levels. These are acceptable to the microcontroller’s TxD and RxD pins. The MAX 232 converts the RS232
voltage levels to TTL voltage levels and vice versa.
The chip uses +5v power source which is the same as the power source for the microcontroller. It provides 2-channel RS232C
port and requires external 10uF capacitors.
Figure 2
5. Arduino Software
The Arduino IDE is a cross-platform application written in Java which is derived from the IDE made for the
Processing programming language and the Wiring project. It is designed to introduce programming to artists and other
newcomers unfamiliar with software development. It includes a code editor with features such as syntax highlighting, brace
matching, and automatic indentation, and is also capable of compiling and uploading programs to the board with a single click.
There is typically no need to edit Makefiles or run programs on the command line. The Arduino IDE comes with a C /
C++ library called “Wiring” (from the project of the same name), which makes many common input/output operations much
easier. Arduino programs are written in C/C++, although users only need to define two functions in order to make a runnable
program:
setup() – a function run once at the start of a program which can be used for initializing settings, and
loop() – a function called repeatedly until the board is powered off.
The code written in Arduino not be seen by a standard C++ compiler as a valid program, so when the user clicks the “Upload
to I/O board” button in the IDE, a copy of the code is written to a temporary file with an extra include header at the top and a
very simple main() function at the bottom, to make it a valid C++ program.
Since the IDE is pin oriented, we can quickly achieve our desired logic and build a working model

5.1 Functions used in Arduino
• pinMode()
Configures the specified pin to behave either as an input or an output.
pinMode(pin, mode)
pin : the number of the pin whose mode you wish
to set .
mode: either input or output.
• digitalRead()
Reads the value from a specified digital pin, either HIGH or LOW.
digitalRead(pin)
pin : the number of the digital pin you want to read (int)
• digitalWrite()
Write a HIGH or a LOW value to a digital pin
• analogRead()
Reads the value from the specified analog pin.
The Arduino board contains a 6 channel ,10-bit analog to digital converter.
This means that it will map input voltages between 0 and 5 volts into integer values between 0 and 1023. This yields a
resolution between readings of: 5 volts / 1024 units or, 4.9 mV per unit.
• analogWrite()
Writes an analog value (PWM wave) to a pin.
After a call to analogWrite(), the pin will generate a steady square wave of the specified duty cycle.
The frequency of the PWM signal is approximately 490 Hz .
5.2 Serial Communication
The Serial port (USART) is used for communication between the Sanguino board and a computer or other devices.
The Sanguino has two serial ports :
Serial1 on pins 19 (RX) and 18 (TX)
Serial2 on pins 17 (RX) and 16 (TX)
• Serial.begin(int baud)
• Serial.available( )
• Serial.read( )
• Serial.println( )
