Poverty Of A Indebted Poor Countries ( Hipc ) A Project By...
INTRODUCTION
This paper looks at the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) a project by the IMF and World
Bank.
DEBT RELIEF KEY TO POVERTY REDUCTION
The World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) with its view that no poor country faces a
debt burden that it cannot manage, came up with an initiative in 1996 called HIPC initiative. Since
then, the International financial community and the multilateral organizations and governments
have worked tirelessly together to reduce external debt to sustain levels for the many Highly
Indebted Poor Countries. The World Bankand its partner IMF believes that poverty reduction will
come by reducing debt levels of the country.
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES OF HIPC INITIATIVES ON ZAMBIA
The World Bank and the IMF, almost always put conditions to members states to access financial
assistance. HIPC countries like Zambia were not an exceptional.
Four conditions were put in place for HIPC to meet, this includes:
1. be eligible to borrow from the World Bank s International Development Agency.
2. Face an unsustainable debt burden, that cannot be sustain through traditional mechanism debt
relief.
3. Have established a track record of reforms and sound policies.
4. Develop a Poverty Reduction Strategic Paper
The technicalities behind the above conditions came at a price, which to date, a little of progress
has been seen. Civic leaders under the leadership of President Levy Mwanawasa of the Republic of
Zambia, were on each other s tails.

Environmental Objectives Of The United Nations
The United Nations has recently worked on establishing goals each with specific targets regarding
sustainable development. Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine
resources for sustainable development, and its associated targets will be analysed for measurability
and thoroughness. Targets The 7 targets associated with goal 14 focus on 4 themes. Targets 1 and 3
focus on reducing pollution, targets 2 and 5 focus on protecting ecosystems, targets 4 and 6 focus
on overfishing and target 7 focuses on incentivising countries to maintain the ocean. Target 1 aims
to prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds. This target is measurable as there

measured by measuring the number of dead zones , and zones which are said to be eutrophied
(Rabalais, 1528 HYPERLINK http://icesjms.oxfordjournals.org/content/66/7/1528.full ). There
are an estimated 169 dead zones and 415 coastal areas that suffer from eutrophication (Steiner,

tolerance, dispersal ability and adaptive capacity of a species indicate resilience and are
measured in many different regions (Bernhardt, 379). The productivity of an ecosystem is
measured by measuring the primary productivity which is monitored globally by using satellite
ocean colour sensors and measuring the dissolved oxygen content of water (Bernhardt, 381).
There are several indicators of how sustainable the level of fishing is. The percentage of mature
fish indicates whether the rate of fishing is unsustainable. If the percentage of mature fish is low,
there is a large proportion of fish that are unable to mature, indicating overfishing (Froese, 87).
This measure is widely monitored in many coastal regions with large fishing industries. The
amount of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing is measured globally and is known to be
approximately 20% of the world s fish trade. (Waitt

Milkweed Response To Herbivory
Resource allocation as a result of herbivory has been predicted in plants, but of late has only been
investigated. One way to determine resource allocation as a defense to herbivory is to measure both
above ground and belowground biomass and calculate root:shoot ratio as an indicator of resource
allocation. This study investigated the induced pattern of defense of resource allocation to
root:shoot ratio as a response to simulated mechanical herbivory. Monarch butterfly larvae
herbivory were simulated through mechanical herbivory of four treatments. It was found that there
was a significant difference between species, but there were no significant differences between
treatments. This study examines the divergent evolutionin three species of milkweed responses to
herbivory.

tuberosa, exaltata, and sullivantii). The genus, milkweed, is a native weedy plant that occurs
throughout eastern North America in numerous habitats such as roadsides, wooded areas,
prairies, and mesic environments (Van Zandt and Agrawal, 2004). A. tuberosa is a species of
milkweed that favors dry, sandy soil. A. exaltata is found in moist wooded areas in partial to full
sun. A. sullivantii is a prairie species of milkweed that is common across North America.
Milkweed is the major food plant for migrating monarch adults and their larvae. When damaged,
milkweed plants immediately exude white latex that serves as a physical defense barrier to
herbivores. This latex, along with all other plant parts, varies on their effectiveness depending if
the herbivory is a specialist and generalist (Malcom and Zalucki, 1996). Resulting from a herbivory
event, a plant will respond by allocating resources to belowground biomass thus increasing the

The Son From America Sparknotes
In the short story The Son from America by Isaac Bashevis Singer, a man named Berl and his
wife, Berlcha live in a small village with huts as homes. Samuel, their son, lives in America and is
considered a millionaire in their village. Undeniably, there is a cultural conflict between Berl,
Berlcha, and their son. This conflict arises from their inability to communicate, and see the
importance of money in society, as well as understand one s definition of happiness through riches.
Because Samuel has lost his ability to fluently speak and write in Yiddish, his parents have
difficulty understanding him. Samuel writers letters home in a mixture of English and Yiddish
which his parents are unable to comprehend. His inability to write letters in a ... Show more content

Samuel said Father this is a treasure! when he saw the boot filled with money. Questioning Berl
about the savings, Samuel seemed utterly shocked and in disbelief. He must have been confused
because in such a poor village, people do not give the impression that they care much about wealth.
Like a good titular son, Samuel came to give his parents and hometown only to realize, they already
have it. The village did not need anything Samuel had to offer. Berl Berlcha have everything they
want but their son failed to recognize that because of the communication issues their long distance
relationship brings. The Son from America reveals several conflicts between Samuel and his
parents, Berl Berlcha. They face more than just miscommunication; the family has cultural
differences which result in the struggle to understand each others views on happiness and how
people achieve it. After giving his parents a surprise visit, Samuel comes to realization that his
parents well being does not revolve around materialistic values the way an average American

Batman Vs Superman Research Paper
Tank missiles, bat bombs, or super strength, which would you prefer? Out of all off the
superheroes today, I think that ironman, batman, and superman are probably the most popular.
These three are highly powerful in all of their own ways. Two of them equipped with an arsenal
of gadgets while the other is just a man in tights and a cape. They all have their ups and their
down, their strengths and their weaknesses. But set all that aside and they are very much alike.
They have more similarities than you would think even though they are all very different.
Ironman s name is Tony Stark; he is an only child, with no parents and a weird looking
electromagnet in his chest. His suit of armor is made from a titanium alloy which I red and
gold. His suit also has tons of gadgets; such as explosives, special bullets, repulsors on his hands
and chest, and the ability to fly. His weakness is anything his suit cannot handle, and EMPs,
which kill electronics. The suit is extremely bullet resistant and can fly at mach speeds. He has
overcome many obstacles and has had multiple times where he has or has almost failed. Ironman
is still kicking in movies and books these days, so he is very popular in today s community.... Show

Ancient Athenian Women Essay
In ancient Athens, there were different levels of courtesans: concubines, street women, hetaeras,
and music or flute girls. This trade, however, was not restricted to women men were also sold as
commodities. These women plied their trade according to their social stature, in the streets,
symposiums or brothels. The symposium played a huge role in the sexual life of the ancient
Athenians often an outlet for not just sexual desire, but all desires. The economics of prostitution in
ancient Athens was complex, most times treating women and men as commodities. Similarities and
differences can be found between ancient Athenians and today s western world and their attitudes
towards sexual behavior the most prominent difference being the Athenians goal of moderation and

Sometimes they were purchased and kept for pleasure; other times they were purchased with the
promise of freedom (Davidson, pg. 81). Men and women even had a resale value (Davidson, pg.
82). Some workers were taken care of by the people who purchased them; most, however, were
controlled by pimps (Davidson, pg. 79). The street women barely made enough to make it
through a twenty four hour span, the slave girls in the brothels made profits for the brothel
keeper, and the professional party girl lived off her talents (Davidson, pg. 86). At the
symposiums, women were hired for entertainment as well as sexual pleasure by people of merit:
artists, poets and political aristocrats (Davidson, pg. 77). Women would often be paid for their
company, not just the act of sex (Davidson, pg. 77). The symposium is the most familiar face of
Greek prostitution, it was the place where beautiful and witty women exchanged jokes and double
entandres (Davidson, pg. 78). The parties opened up the accessibility of food, alcohol and sex to a
society that believed in moderation this could threaten the Athenians

Case Study on a Three Year Old With Bronchiolitis
Introduction:
This paper will discuss a case study of Liam, a three month old boy who is transferred from the
General Practitioner (GP) to paediatric ward with bronchiolitis. Initially, Liam s chief health issues
will be identified, following by nursing assessment and diagnoses of the child s need. Focus will be
made on the management of two major health problems: respiratory distress and dehydration, and
summary and evaluation of the interventions with evidence of learning. Lastly, a conclusion of
author s self evaluation will be present.
Identification of specific key issues:

Blood gas analysis may be performed to determine if high concentration oxygen therapy is needed
(Bush Thomson, 2007). The management of fever would be a part of care plan when the infant is
febrile due to infection (Axton Fugate 2009).
It is also important to keep accurate record of Liam s fluid balance chart, and assess Liam s
capillary refill, skin turgor, fontanel condition and mucous membranes every shift, as they provide
information about the infant s hydration status (Axton Fugate 2009). Urine analysis may be
performed to provide information on hydration status and/or determine if Liam has urine tract
infection (UTI) (Axton Fugate 2009; Crisp, Taylor, Douglas, Rebeiro, 2013). Management of
dehydration would be one of nursing interventions if urine sample shows a high urine specific
gravity, and antibiotics would be administered if a bacterium is detected in the urine sample
(Axton Fugate 2009). Feeding ability should be assessed in order to determine the route of fluid
intake (i.e. oral, nasogastric or intravenous fluids) (PMH, 2013).
Rapid virological testing for RSV is recommended in order to guide isolation and allocate Liam
into cohorts in hospital (Fitzgerald, 2011).
Finally, the nurse may need to assess Liam s parents understanding of bronchiolitis in order to
determine what information that nurses need to provide, and

The Ten Commandments
The movie the author would like to critique is probably one of the greatest movies of all time. The
movie is The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston, Yul Brenner, and Cecil B. DeMille
. If
the author were a real critic like Gene Siskel, and Roger Ebert, she would give this movie two
thumbs up. The author will probably be giving her, interpretation of this movie all the way through

For some reason back in the fifties the bible was a good source for movies, and you have to
understand one of the reasons will be found in the strength of genre movies. For the director,
there were certain advantages with working within a given genre. Because the characters, the plot,
and the conventions were already established, they provided the director with a kind of cinematic
shorthand greatly simplified the task of storytelling. (Boggs, M., Petrie, D., 2008 7th Ed.) The
original movie was shot in 1923 as a silent film which was also directed by Cecil Demille. The cast
of the 1956 remake of the Ten Commandments were cast from the original silent film. The
production of this film was good for that time period. The production crew had it easy when it
came to the cast, due to most of the cast came from the original film from 1923. The props, scene,
and setting that the production crew used were great, for an example in the film Ten
Commandments, the scene with Moses bringing down the ten commandments from the mountain
top after talking with God. When you look at that scene the production crew does a good job with
the dark clouds and the fire like orange colors in the setting of the clouds. The mountain that was in
the back ground of Moses really stood out in that scene, when Moses gave the ten commandment to
the children of Israel, he stood on the mountain and with his red over garment blowing in the wind

The President Of The Florida Chapter Of Delta Chi Here At...
To the founders of Phi Beta Kappa, My name is Jacob Dube and I currently serve as the
President of the Florida Chapter of Delta Chi here at the University of Florida. In 1776, you all
made a decision that would forever change the course of college history at the College of
William and Mary and many other universities nationwide as you created the first American
collegiate fraternity. I cannot express my gratitude for you as you all paved the way for the
Greek system in a college and university setting. The Greek experience is one of a kind to all of
its members, and it has helped produce some of the most successful people in our country. I
would like to share to you some great news about today s Greek systems here at the University of
Florida and how you helped shape the success of so many Greek students.
The Greek communities that have risen across the country have created huge impacts on every
university that they have established themselves on. Historically, fraternities were designed for
students to discreetly meet to discuss issues and host debates that their members believed would be
deemed inappropriate by their collegiate faculties. Since their founding, fraternities and sororities
have completely revamped their focuses. They are used as social, professional, and honorary
organizations that promote many different combinations of community service, leadership, and
academic success. The ideas of brotherhood and sisterhood have also transcended the college
experience,

Linguistic Impact Essay
Linguistic Impact In the field of Modern Languages and Linguistics, words are of great
importance. A language s phonology (study of how sounds are organized and used), morphology
(study of the form and structure of words), syntax (study of the rules that govern sentence
structure), semantics (study of meaning of words, sentences, and expressions), pragmatics (study of
aspects of meaning and language use and context), and phonetics (study of human speech sounds)
all play an important part in everyday life. These have a major impact in understanding the intent
of what is spoken or heard. Due to the importance of communication, literary elements such as

There is, for instance, the saying, De tal palo, tal astilla ; which literally means from such a stick
such a splinter (Cuentos y dichos) . Its actual meaning is like father like son or a chip off the old

familiar to most Spanish speakers. Another common metaphor is Estar hasta el gorro. It literally
means to be up to the hat. The English translation is to be fed up (with) (Larousse Dictionary). It
is so widely used that no particular place of origin is given. Most Spanish metaphors were created
based on the work, activities or images common to that particular country. For example, the
population in the Dominican Republic contains a racial mixture of Black, White and Mestizo

Worldwide demand for farm equipment at depression level
1.5 bln dollar Debt outstanding with 150 banks around the world causing default in beginning in
1981 (and potential bankruptcy)
International Financial Press reporting possible assistance of Canadian Government
9.What alternatives were available to MF (in 1980)?
Bankruptcy
Restructuring with a plan of debt decrease
Selling assets eg Perkins
10.As a financial advisor what would you recommend (numbers based argumentation)?
Due to steady revenue growth (22% growth 1975 1980) even in difficult financial markets we
believe that the business is viable and can be recovered with a strict restructuring program.
Since Massey s stock price has dropped rapidly over the years, issuing new equity is not an
attractive option with the low stock prices. Obviously increasing debt is not an option either so
the only alternatives for Massey to finance it s business going forward is to either find savings
from it s Balance sheet and income statement or to sell it s assets. In below we discuss some
opportunities we ve identified in Massey s financials.

Quality Solutions That Arise by Refining Ideas
Quality solutions that arise by refining ideas Original Issue The current issue is the lack of
enough storage in the studio apartment. There is a need to come up with some practical storage
solutions as the apartment has two (2) small closets and these are not enough for storing the
person s belongings and possessions. This makes the apartment look too crammed, and there are
clothes strewed all over the place, and there is no room for anything else. One cannot properly
sort the dirty and clean clothes as clothes usually get mixed up due to lack of enough storage
space. There is no space for one to keep a shoe rack, and that leads to shoes getting mixed up
with the clothes. Initial Solution Screwing hooks on the walls and running strings or ribbons on
the hooks would reduce the clutter of things that are strewn across the floor and would make
good use of the vertical space and one can use the ribbons to hang displays this would add
creativity to the whole room. The other idea is to screw hooks on the walls then attach a net on
the hooks that would be used to store more stuff that are not used very often. Using old wine
crates, one can have additional storage space in the apartment. They allow one to make good use of
the vertical space without affecting the dГѓ cor of the apartment. The wine crates would be
mounted on the walls or stacked one on top of the other. Critical Examination of Best Solution
Hanging old wine crates on the wall will add creativity to the room,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Antioxidants
Antioxidants are man made or natural that may prevent some types of cell damage . Antioxidants
are found in many foods, including fruits and vegetables, and as dietary supplements. Vegetables
and fruits are rich sources of antioxidants. There is good evidence that eating a diet with lots of
vegetables and fruits is healthy and lowers risks of certain diseases.
Types of Antioxidants
There are three primary types of antioxidants in nature. These include phytochemicals, vitamins, and
enzymes
1 Antioxidant Phytochemicals are chemical compounds produced by plants and they have

Antioxidants and Immune System Support:
Singlet oxygen can compromise the immune system, because it has the ability to catalyze
production of free radicals. Astaxanthin and Spirulina have been shown to enhance both the non
specific and specific immune system, and to protect cell membranes and cellular DNA from
mutation. Astaxanthin is the single most powerful quencher of singlet oxygen, and is up to ten
times stronger than other carotenoids (including beta carotene), and up to 500 times stronger than
alpha tocopherol (Vitamin E), while Spirulina has a variety of antioxidants and other substances
that are beneficial in boosting immunity.

Vapor Pressure Lab
Volatile liquids are prevalently used in the perfume industry. Because of their evaporative nature,
feasibility is a top concern from both a shipping and manufacturing standpoint. Therefore, it is
necessary to ship the most viable chemicals under specific conditions . This experiment tested the
relationship between vapor pressure and molar mass and the relationship between vapor pressure
and temperatureusing four alcohols (amyl alcohol, ethanol, methanol, and 2 propanol) to assess
whether n hexanol or an alternative alcohol should be used and how the alcohol should be
transported. From the graph trend lines, a negative slope showed that molar mass was inversely
proportional to vapor pressure, and a positive slope showed that temperature was directly
proportional to vapor pressure. It was concluded that n hexanol transported at colder temperatures
would most effectively minimize the alcohol s volatility.

Boiling point is the temperature at which the vapor pressure equals the ambient atmospheric
pressure.2 Therefore, a substance with a lower boiling point is also one with a higher vapor

of a substance s degree of volatility, a substance s tendency to vaporize.3 Because a substance with
higher vapor pressure has greater tendencies of both evaporation and condensation in equilibrium,
it will also vaporize more readily.4 This, in particular, will be a central

Governments Should Spend Money On Improving Public Transportation Many people in the world
want their countries to be developed, and they want to have a good quality of life. Also, they want
their countries to have strong potential economy to compete with other nations. As a result, it is
necessary for the government to work on improving facilities which are the basic foundation of life.
In my opinion, governments should spend more money on improving public transportation, such as
buses, subways, and trains instead of working on the construction of new roads and highways for
several reasons. The first reason is to encourage people to use public transportation. Right now,
many people feel that using public transportation, such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Separate Peace Title Analysis

Title Meaning in A Separate Peace
The title of the book, A Separate Peace is completely relevant to the story of the two boys Gene
and Phineas and their relationship. The title shows how the boys put themselves in completely
different realities, a separate peace. This first occurs when Gene manages to push Phineas out of
the tree causing him to shatter one of his legs. Phineas refuses to believe Gene, his best friend
would purposely hurt him. I don t know, I must have just lost my balance. It must have been that. I
did have this idea, this feeling that when you were standing there beside me, yгѓј I don t know, I

Both Gene and Phineas are confronted with the truth when Leper tells of what he saw on that
frightful day. He compares what he saw to an engine. I can t think of the name of the engine. But
it has two pistons. What is that engine? Well anyway, in this engine first one piston sinks, and
then the next one sinks. The one holding on to the trunk sank for a second, up and down like a
psi on, and then the other one sank and fell (Knowles 176). Phineas is finally confronted with the
truth behind the incident and that his best friend did in fact make him fall off the tree. Phineas is
so overwhelmed after hearing this, he falls down the stairs, which ends up being fatal. Then these
separate sounds collided into the general tumult of his body falling clumsily down the white
marble stairs (Knowles 177). After the death of Phineas, Gene attains ultimate peace and peace of
mind as he gets older and understands Phineas nonviolent nature. Only Phineas never was afraid,
only Phineas never hated anyone (Knowles 204). After the death, Phineas himself also attains
peace, with his heart at peace with Gene. Gene feels very alone without Phineas. He no longer has

Limiting Reactant Lab Report
Chemistry 11 Formal Lab Limiting and Excess Reactants Lab By Eunice Ng March 26, 2015 Lab
Partner: Amy Zeng Introduction In every chemical reactions, there are always limiting reactants.
The limiting reactants are the reactants that limit the amount of product that can be formed. One
reactant would be chosen as limiting reactants when either one reactant would be used up quicker
than the other one. Therefore, the one that is the first one to used up would be the limiting
reactants. The reaction will eventually stop when the limiting reactant is all used up. The reaction
Pb(NO3)2(aq) + 2 KI(aq) в†’ PbI2(s) + 2 KNO3(s) occurs when Pb(NO3)2(aq) reacts with KI(aq).

The Great Gatsby Theme Essay
In the film The Great Gatsby the themes of love, greed and corruption of the American Dream
are all set in the jazz age of New York City. One of the most prevalent themes of the story is that
of love, as well as its fleetingness. There are no stable relationships in present. Daisy and Tom s
marriage has been damaged by affairs from early in its life. Tom s affair with a hotel
chambermaid soon after their honeymoon. By the time the novel begins, Daisy is well aware of
Tom s regular affairs, seeming to suffer in silence until Gatsby offers her a way out. Myrtle s
relationship with Tom is no stronger, obviously based on a physical attraction, especially on the
part of Tom, who has little time for Myrtle outside the bedroom. Myrtle appears to be loved by
Wilson, but is unhappy in this relationship, apparently... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

relationship started on a lie, but also needing a turning back of time to make it complete. However,
Gatsby s love for Daisy is not true love; it is infatuation based on objectification. She becomes the
symbol of everything he wants, rather than the complex human being she really is. The theme of
corruption is consistent throughout the film, every person involved in it somehow. Overall, the
society in which the film takes place is one of moral decadence. Whether their money is inherited

A Brief Note On Armenia And The Soviet Nation
Like everyone else in my family, I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. My parents decided to move
our family to the United States in 2000 to live with my grandfather on my mom s side. We left
our entire family in Armenia to be able to have a better life in the United States. Armenia was a
soviet nation and when the USSR collapsed, so did most of Armenias economy. People struggled to
make money and life there quickly became very hard. My parents always tell me stories of when
my brother and I were babies and what our familyhad to do to be able to provide food and clothes
for us. There were certain times a day where families got electricity and water. People that didn t
live in the city lives in ore rural areas that were referred to villages since they were
underdeveloped. People in the city lived in apartments. It was very common for people to live
with entire families in a small home or apartment. My parents lived in my dad s family home in
the city with his entire family of twelve people. My parents struggled a lot to be able to keep my
brother and I comfortable through the freezing winters and scorching summers. Life in Armenia
became too hard for them. That s when they decided it was time to make a huge change and
leave everyone we knew behind to move to a foreign nation with a dream of having a better life.
We moved to Los Angeles in 2000 to live with my grandfather. I don t remember much from that
time since I was so young, but I do remember how different everything was.

Malpractice And Malpractice Of A Healthcare Organization
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This paper will be discussing tort as it relates to negligence and malpractice in a healthcare
organization. It will try explain how negligence and malpractice drive up the cost of healthcare and
how there has been a clamor tort reform, what would be the content of the reform and the expected
outcome. Lastly the essay would prove to us that there is no indication since tort reform has been
implemented, that points to a reduction in the cost of healthcare and the cost of running a
healthcare organization in relation to paying high malpractice insurance.
TORT
Tort is a civil wrong for which a court of law provides remedy for a civil wrong that has been
committed against an individual, Remedy could be sought for a personal loss, financial loss, and
personal injury (Smith, 1993). A tort is simply the Norman word for a wrong but torts have
typically been distinguished from crimes and from wrongs identified with contractual relations. Tort
law, then, is concerned with civil wrongs not arising from contracts (White, 2003,
p.xxiii).During the very early years of tort been introduced in to legal discourse and proceeding, tort
was considered as a wrong that came by way or forceful damage or hurt. It was widely regarded
both as a civil wrong and a criminal during those early years, civil wrongs can be classified as a
wrong that involves no violence and also a wrong that involves an element of force and violence
(Street, 1906).

product that would increase the effectiveness and the efficiency of current market technology to
reduce damage to crops by reducing habituation. Secondly, the objective of this project was to
develop the prototype and protocols into a useful system that can be scaled up for application at
the end users level of skill. Considering the target audience of farmers, who may not have a high
level of understanding of electrical and computer components, each component was designed to be
easily set up and operated. The ability of an average person to set up and configure the GPS
system and the potential object recognitions navigation system, which would make the robot fully

profile of a killer Essay examples
During the last decade the world has witnessed a staggering elevation in serial killings.
To give some insight into the scale of the problem posed by the serial killer, in the United States
can be gained from examining the statistics for just one year. In 1989 (the last year for which
detailed figures are available) there were 21,500 recorded homicides, of which some 5,000 are
unsolved. Unofficial sources believe that as many as a hundred serial killers may be at large at any
given time. Add to this the number of known victims of serial killers, then between 3,500 and
5,000 people are killed by serial murderers every year. (Lane and Gregg 3)
These numerous multiple murders, often without consequence and justice, have shocked civilized ...

Characteristics of a serial killer are imperative in demarcating the type of person capable of
committing a serial murder. quot; Most known serial killers are 25 35 years old quot; (Falk 85).
quot;It is also significant that the victims of serial murderers are not concentrated in any age range
quot; (Falk 85). quot;Serial killings are almost always committed by white males instead of blacks
because class resentment is far more likely to occur to a person with a good education than
someone without an appreciation of how society works quot; (Falk 85).
To truly understand the phenomenon of serial murder one must know what motivates a person to
commit such a horrendous crime. Patterns of serial killing fall broadly into two categories of
motivation: quot;Extrinsic, where the impulse to kill is located outside the killer s psyche that is,
he perceives a rational reason for murder in outside situations and events quot; (Fox and Levin 12).
quot;More frequently the motivation is intrinsic to the psyche of the killer, whether or not that
motivation is apparent to an independent observer quot; (Fox and Levin 12). Closer psychological
analysis of known cases indicates that serial murders fit into one of four main types according to
the predominate homicidal motivation: Visionaries, Missionaries, Hedonists, and Power Seekers.
Visionaries include killers who act in response to quot;voices quot; and alter egos, where

Paleolithic And Neolithic Revolution
The transition from the Paleolithic period to the Neolithic period marked a major revolution in the
ways that humans lived and the methods that they used their resources. The Paleolithic period,
which lasted from around 40,000 to 8,000 B.C.E, was characterized by hunter gatherers and a
nomadic way of life. These ancient people lived a simplistic life and traveled around, not creating
any permanent settlements because they did not have a deep understanding of how to use their
resources. This all changed when the NeolithicRevolution occurred around the year 8,000 B.C.E,
human behavior and the style of living started to become more complex than ever before. We can
see, through the evidence of ancient artwork created near Mesopotamia, that the transition from the
Paleolithic period to the Neolithic period involved various advances in cultural ideas, the way of
living and use of resources. During the Neolithic Revolution people started to create more
permanent settlements. These settlements popped up in places such as the Fertile Crescent, and in
places like these humans let go of there hunter gather past and leapt into a new life of farming.
They set up communities and divided up labor among residents. Crops were farmed near the
villages, and animals were domesticated. Since it was much easier for people to get their daily
needs without moving from place to place, people had a lot of time on their hands to develop other
things such as art and religion. After this advancement

Plays on the Niagara University Campus
This was a play done by the Niagara University theatre department. Curtains is a musical with a
book by Rupert Holmes, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and music by John Kander, with additional lyrics by
Kander and Holmes. Based on the original book and concept by Peter Stone, the musical is a send

follows the fallout when the supremely untalented female star of Robbin Hood of the Old West
is murdered during her opening night curtain call. It is up to Lt. Frank Cioffi, a police detective
who is also a musical theater fan to save the show, solve the case, and a determined effort to find

mixed reviews, though several critics praised one female character Nancy. I learned from this
event that if it s not something I would normally go see it s hard to stay focused on what is

Personal Narrative
The air was crisp outside, it was nearing Christmas in our small little city named Belleville.
Everyone seemed to be out and about finishing their last minute Christmas shopping and the city
had a busy, but happy feel to it. The ground had a white blanket of snow on it that had just fallen
during the early hours of the morning. My mom was taking me to the mall so that I could get
pictures taken with Santa, one of my favourite parts about Christmas. As I was sitting in my car seat
all bundled up in my snow suit, clutching my favourite stuffed bunny all I was fixated on was
what to ask Santa for Christmas. I was 7 years old with big brown eyes that glared out the
window with the unruliest hair you could ever imagine. As we stopped at our final red light before
our destination, we both witnessed an extremely bad car wreck. It was one of those car wrecks that
seem to happen in slow motion, so slow that you can almost scream Watch out! . All of a sudden,
the women that I viewed as my ordinary suburban mom dashed out of our warm van to face the
crisp, windy weather. That day she risked her life to save another. She was able to keep the
driver of the SUV stable until the ambulance arrived. This was the first time I ever saw my mom

Wonder Woman Summary
Why do you think that the article begins with a description of Wonder Woman?
The reason I believe that the text begins with a description of wonder woman is because she is a
woman hero and her personality describes a woman hero which the text is about.
2:William Moulton Marston said that Not even girls want to be girls so long as our feminine
archetypes lacks force, strength and power. Does this quote reflect the myths described in the Unit?
That if the character is not strong and lacks force then the character will get very little respect even
towards the target audience.
3:Why do you think that some scholars perceived female dominated societies as better than the

and equal opportunities and resources. One of the main risks that almost all minority groups face
is being driven away from their land and deprived from their natural resources, which are vital and
essential for their livelihood. In addition to systematic inequity, members of ethnic minorities can
face day to day discrimination which can cause them to feel less welcome and accepted. Uyghur
muslims in Chinaand Kurds in Turkey illustrate and represent the problems faced by ethnic
minorities, and how such problems have played an important role leading to political stability and a

predominantly muslim province of Xinjiang, in the far eastern part of China (refer to Appendix A,
Figure 1). They are of Turkic descendancy, speak a language that is largely related to Turkish and
regard themselves to be very culturally and ethnically close to neighbouring Central Asian
populations. This is where controversy begins to occur. Prior to the 18th century, the region that s
now Xinjiang had an intermittent autonomy and periodic independence. However, during the 18th
century, the region came under the Chinese rule, and became officially part of Communist China in
1949 shortly after the formation of an East Turkmenistan State which included the region of
Xinjiang but was largely short lived. As

One way to determine resource allocation as a defense to herbivory is to measure both above ground and belowground biomass and calculate root:shoot ratio as an indicator of resource allocation. This study investigated the induced pattern of defense of resource allocation to root:shoot ratio as a response to simulated mechanical herbivory. Monarch butterfly larvae herbivory were simulated through mechanical herbivory of four treatments. It was found that there was a significant difference between species, but there were no significant differences between treatments. A. tuberosa is a species of milkweed that favors dry, sandy soil. A. exaltata is found in moist wooded areas in partial to full sun. A. sullivantii is a prairie species of milkweed that is common across North America. Milkweed is the major food plant for migrating monarch adults and their larvae. When damaged, milkweed plants immediately exude white latex that serves as a physical defense barrier to herbivores. This latex, along with all other plant parts, varies on their effectiveness depending if the herbivory is a specialist and generalist (Malcom and Zalucki, 1996). There is a need to come up with some practical storage solutions as the apartment has two (2) small closets and these are not enough for storing the person s belongings and possessions. This makes the apartment look too crammed, and there are clothes strewed all over the place, and there is no room for anything else. One cannot properly sort the dirty and clean clothes as clothes usually get mixed up due to lack of enough storage space. There is no space for one to keep a shoe rack, and that leads to shoes getting mixed up with the clothes. Initial Solution Screwing hooks on the walls and running strings or ribbons on the hooks would reduce the clutter of things that are strewn across the floor and would make good use of the vertical space and one can use the ribbons to hang displays this would add creativity to the whole room. The other idea is to screw hooks on the walls then attach a net on the hooks that would be used to store more stuff that are not used very often. Using old wine crates, one can have additional storage space in the apartment. They allow one to make good use of the vertical space without affecting the dГѓ cor of the apartment. It will try explain how negligence and malpractice drive up the cost of healthcare and how there has been a clamor tort reform, what would be the content of the reform and the expected outcome. Lastly the essay would prove to us that there is no indication since tort reform has been implemented, that points to a reduction in the cost of healthcare and the cost of running a healthcare organization in relation to paying high malpractice insurance. TORT Tort is a civil wrong for which a court of law provides remedy for a civil wrong that has been committed against an individual, Remedy could be sought for a personal loss, financial loss, and personal injury (Smith, 1993). To give some insight into the scale of the problem posed by the serial killer, in the United States can be gained from examining the statistics for just one year. In 1989 (the last year for which detailed figures are available) there were 21,500 recorded homicides, of which some 5,000 are unsolved. Unofficial sources believe that as many as a hundred serial killers may be at large at any given time. Add to this the number of known victims of serial killers, then between 3,500 and 5,000 people are killed by serial murderers every year. Characteristics of a serial killer are imperative in demarcating the type of person capable of committing a serial murder. quot; Most known serial killers are 25 35 years old quot; (Falk 85). quot;It is also significant that the victims of serial murderers are not concentrated in any age range quot; (Falk 85). quot;Serial killings are almost always committed by white males instead of blacks because class resentment is far more likely to occur to a person with a good education than someone without an appreciation of how society works quot; (Falk 85). To truly understand the phenomenon of serial murder one must know what motivates a person to commit such a horrendous crime. Patterns of serial killing fall broadly into two categories of motivation: quot;Extrinsic, where the impulse to kill is located outside the killer s psyche that is, he perceives a rational reason for murder in outside situations and events quot; (Fox and Levin 12). quot;More frequently the motivation is intrinsic to the psyche of the killer, whether or not that motivation is apparent to an independent observer quot; (Fox and Levin 12). Closer psychological analysis of known cases indicates that serial murders fit into one of four main types according to the predominate homicidal motivation: Visionaries, Missionaries, Hedonists, and Power Seekers. • 34. Paleolithic And Neolithic Revolution The transition from the Paleolithic period to the Neolithic period marked a major revolution in the ways that humans lived and the methods that they used their resources. The Paleolithic period, which lasted from around 40,000 to 8,000 B.C.E, was characterized by hunter gatherers and a nomadic way of life. These ancient people lived a simplistic life and traveled around, not creating any permanent settlements because they did not have a deep understanding of how to use their resources. This all changed when the NeolithicRevolution occurred around the year 8,000 B.C.E, human behavior and the style of living started to become more complex than ever before. We can see, through the evidence of ancient artwork created near Mesopotamia, that the transition from the Paleolithic period to the Neolithic period involved various advances in cultural ideas, the way of living and use of resources. During the Neolithic Revolution people started to create more permanent settlements. These settlements popped up in places such as the Fertile Crescent, and in places like these humans let go of there hunter gather past and leapt into a new life of farming. They set up communities and divided up labor among residents. Crops were farmed near the villages, and animals were domesticated. Since it was much easier for people to get their daily needs without moving from place to place, people had a lot of time on their hands to develop other things such as art and religion. The ground had a white blanket of snow on it that had just fallen during the early hours of the morning. One of the main risks that almost all minority groups face is being driven away from their land and deprived from their natural resources, which are vital and essential for their livelihood. In addition to systematic inequity, members of ethnic minorities can face day to day discrimination which can cause them to feel less welcome and accepted. Uyghur muslims in Chinaand Kurds in Turkey illustrate and represent the problems faced by ethnic minorities, and how such problems have played an important role leading to political stability and a violation of human rights within a nation. In China, the Uyghur Muslim ethnic group is found the predominantly muslim province of Xinjiang, in the far eastern part of China (refer to Appendix A, Figure 1).
