Wireless power transmission from solar power satelliteSaquib Maqsood
In the near future due to extensive use of energy, limited supply of resources and the pollution in environment from present resources e.g. (wood, coal, fossil fuel) etc, alternative sources of energy and new ways to generate energy which are efficient, cost effective and produce minimum losses are of great concern. Wireless electricity (Power) transmission (WET) has become a focal point as research point of view and nowadays lies at top 10 future hot burning technologies that are under research these days. This paper presents the concept of transmitting power wirelessly to reduce transmission and distribution losses. The wired distribution losses are 70 - 75% efficient. We cannot imagine the world without electric power which is efficient, cost effective and produce minimum losses is of great concern. This paper tells us the benefits of using WET technology specially by using Solar based Power satellites (SBPS) and also focuses that how we make electric system cost effective, optimized and well organized. Solar Power Satellite (SPS) is an energy system which collects solar energy in space and transmits it to the ground. It has been believed as a promising infrastructure to resolve global environmental and energy problems for human beings. Microwave power transmission has been investigated and demonstrated for more than 40 years, but still requires further research regarding high-efficiency power conversion and high-accuracy beam control for SPS application. Moreover, attempts are made to highlight future issues so as to index some emerging solutions.
Wireless electricity or WiTricity is the transfer of electric energy or power over a distance without the use of wires. In order for the energy to be transferred safely coupled resonators are used. Coupled resonators are two objects of the same resonant frequency that exchange energy efficiently without much leakage. Minimizing energy leakage is very important because the goal is to have as much energy as possible be transferred from one object to another.

MicroGrid and Energy Storage System COMPLETE DETAILS NEW PPT Abin Baby
A microgrid is a localized grouping of electricity generation, energy storage, and loads that normally operates connected to a traditional centralized grid (macrogrid). This single point of common coupling with the macrogrid can be disconnected. The microgrid can then function autonomously. Generation and loads in a microgrid are usually interconnected at low voltage. From the point of view of the grid operator, a connected microgrid can be controlled as if it were one entity.
Microgrid generation resources can include fuel cells, wind, solar, or other energy sources. The multiple dispersed generation sources and ability to isolate the microgrid from a larger network would provide highly reliable electric power. Produced heat from generation sources such as micro turbines could be used for local process heating or space heating, allowing flexible trade off between the needs for heat and electric power.

Distributed generation of electric energy has become part of the current electric power system. In this context, a recent research study is arising on a new scenario in which small energy sources make up a new supply system : The Microgrid. The most recent projects show the technical difficulty of controlling the operation of Microgrids, because they are complex systems in which several subsystems interact: energy sources, power electronics converters, energy systems, linear and non-linear loads and of course, the utility grid.In next years, the electric grid will evolve from the current very centralized model toward a more distributed one.
In this presentation, Venkatesh introduces IoT and associated trends. His interest area lies in analytics of data obtained through sensors. Some of his ideas include predicting mean sea level based on Oxygen levels, Intelligent transport systems etc.

Reactive Power Sharing Droop Control Strategy for DG Units in an Islanded Mic...IJMTST Journal
The proposed method mainly includes two important operations: error reduction operation and voltage
recovery operation. The sharing accuracy is improved by the sharing error reduction operation, which is
activated by the low-bandwidth synchronization signals. However, the error reduction operation will result in
a decrease in output voltage amplitude. Therefore, the voltage recovery operation is proposed to compensate
the decrease., due to increasing the demand of electricity as well as rapid depletion of fossil fuels, and the

Hybrid Micro Grid Architectures and ChallengesIJMTST Journal
The distribution system is part of the electric power system that links the bulk transmission system and the
individual customers. Increasing environmental concerns, consumer expectations in terms of reliability &
better quality of power supply and improving economics of distributed energy resources (DER) based on
renewable, is making Micro Grid a viable proposition. Present electrical distribution system offers many
technical & operational glitches for successful integration of Micro Grid Technologies. Modern Power systems
are smart, interconnected, interdependent, load sharing and phased mission systems. Micro grids are
composed by distributed generators, energy storage devices, intelligent circuit breakers and local loads. In
this paper, a review of the main micro grid architectures proposed in the literature has been carried out. The
micro grid architectures are first classified regarding their AC or DC distribution buses. Besides, more
complex micro grid architectures will be discussed. Both advantages and disadvantages of each one of the
micro grid families will be discussed.
The energy sector is moving into the era of distributed generation (DG) and microgrids
(MGs). The stability and operation aspects of converter-dominated DG MGs, however, are faced by
many challenges. To overcome these difficulties, this paper presents a new large-signal-based control
topology for DG power converters that is suitable for both grid connected and islanding modes of
operation without any need to reconfigure the control system and without islanding detection. To
improve MG stability and to guarantee stability and high performance of the MG system during sudden
harsh transients such as islanding, grid reconnection, and large load power changes, a nonlinear MG
stabilizer is proposed. We propose a novel control topology for microgrids which can work in both grid
connected and islanding modes without reconfiguration so it does not require islanding detection
technique, the controller is based on the concept of synchronverter In this paper, a radical step is taken
to improve the synchronverter as a self-synchronized synchronverter by removing the dedicated
synchronization unit

Power Quality Enhancement Techniques in Hybrid AC DC Microgrid Analysis and I...ijtsrd
Distributed generators DGs that rely on renewable energy sources have become more important in the face of rising global temperatures. Substantial impetus will soon be supplied by wind, solar energy, biomass, mini hydro, and the use of fuel cells and microturbines. Distributed generation, where electricity is produced by a number of different renewable and unconventional energy sources, has emerged as a viable option for the construction of modern electrical systems because to its low environmental impact, scalability, and adaptability. A microgrid is a small scale electrical grid in which multiple loads and distributed generators are coordinated under a single set of controls. Microgrids are a kind of integrated energy delivery system that may either work in tandem with the main power grid or operate autonomously. The concept of a microgrid eliminates the need for several inverters in a single AC or DC grid and simplifies the connection of intermittent, renewable AC and DC power sources and loads. Equipment safety and security issues have been brought to light by the power electronic converters that link DGs to the utility grid. Greater local dependability, lower feeder losses, local voltage support, increased efficiency through waste heat use, voltage sag correction, and uninterruptible power supply are only some of the configuration options available to the client for the microgrid. In this study, we analyse the functionality of a hybrid AC DC microgrid while connected to the mains power supply. A solar array, a wind generator, and a battery are used to build a microgrid. The converters can now properly coordinate the AC and DC sub grids thanks to the added control techniques. Results were obtained by use of the MATLAB SIMULINK software environment. Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

4. INTRODUCTION
Smart microgrid helps us to store and distribute
the renewable energy. It is modern, small scale
version of centralized electricity system. Like
the bulk power grid,smart microgrids
distribute and regulate the flow of electricity to
consumers.
4
6. BACKGROUND
The Main Campus of the Illinois Institute of
Technology in Chicago was experiencing
one to three major outages per year, each
costing an estimated,$520,000 in restoration
expenses. The remedy would be extremely
expensive.
6
7. MODE OF OPERATIONS
There are three modes of operations for
Smart Microgrid:
•Grid Connected Mode
•Island Connected Mode
•Emergency Mode
7
8. GRID CONNECTED
MODE
In this mode grid is directly connected to
supply. It determines the appropriate set
points for individual generators, storage
elements, and loads in the microgrid. Its also
supply constant power mode for all DER
(Distribute energy resource).
8
9. ISLAND CONNECTED
MODE
This mode having two DER. It performing
operation in MASTER/SLAVE mode.
DER 1: Transfer supply to master mode.
DER2: Transfer supply to slave mode.
9
10. ISLAND OPRATION IN
MASTER MODE
When island connected to the master mode
its behave like a master controller. It
provides the interface between the system
controller and individual load generator.
10
11. ISLAND OPRATION IN
SLAVE MODE
When island connected to the slave mode its
behave like a slave controller .
There are four type of slave controller:
Local Generators
Storage devices
Loads
Microgrid switch or breaker
11
12. Emergency Mode
In this mode the response will depend
upon the need of supply system. The response
can include: changing generator conditions,
reducing load, or actually disconnecting from
the supply system.
12
14. IDEAL COMPONENT OF
MICROGRID
Mainly there are two component of Smart
Microgrid:
1: Distributed Energy Resources
I. Generation
II. Storage
2: Flexible Loads
I. Metering

Generation
Distributed energy generates electricity
from many small energy sources, such as
fossil fuel, nuclear, large solar power plants
and hydropower plants. Distributed generation
allow collection of energy from many sources
and may give lower environmental impacts
and improved security of supply.
15
17. DISTRIBUTED ENERGY
STORAGE
Grid energy storage send excess electricity
over the electricity transmission grid to
temporary electricity storage sites that
subsequently become energy suppliers when
electricity demand is greater.
17
18. FLEXIBLE LOADS
The identification and appropriate control
of flexible loads can be employed to
balance energy and demand. The system to
meet the demand not only by changing the
generated energy but also by controlling the
load when necessary.
18
