SELECTION AND 
PREPARATION OF 
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
Guidance in the Selection of 
Instructional Materials: 
• Instructional media should follow, not 
dictate learning activities 
• Instructors must be thoroughly familiar with 
the content of all media used in instruction 
• The instructional media must be 
appropriate to the teaching formats being 
used. 
• Instructors should select only instructional 
media that are consistent with student 
capabilities and learning styles.
Guidance in the Selection of 
Instructional Materials: 
• Instructional media should be chosen objectively 
rather on the basis of the teachers’ personal 
preference or bias. 
• Instructional media should be chosen on the 
basis of their contributions to the learning 
outcomes. 
• The physical conditions should be arranged to 
enhanced results. 
• Instructional materials produced locally by 
instructor usually make significant contributions 
to learning. 
• No one medium is best for all purpose.

  • 1. SELECTION AND PREPARATION OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Guidance in the Selection of Instructional Materials: • Instructional media should follow, not dictate learning activities • Instructors must be thoroughly familiar with the content of all media used in instruction • The instructional media must be appropriate to the teaching formats being used. • Instructors should select only instructional media that are consistent with student capabilities and learning styles.
  • 3. Guidance in the Selection of Instructional Materials: • Instructional media should be chosen objectively rather on the basis of the teachers’ personal preference or bias. • Instructional media should be chosen on the basis of their contributions to the learning outcomes. • The physical conditions should be arranged to enhanced results. • Instructional materials produced locally by instructor usually make significant contributions to learning. • No one medium is best for all purpose.
