A Unique And Refreshing Adventure
Dope A Unique and Refreshing Adventure ( Movie Review) Dope, directed by Rick Famuyiwa, is a
coming of age story that pays homage to 90s vintage ghetto dramas and destroys all stereotypes of a
teenager coming from the hood. The character, Malcolm (Shameik Moore), whose entire style, from
his classic high top hair cut to his 90s fashioned clothing and shoes, conveys an obsession with hip
hop s golden age, which for Malcolm continued until 2001. This movie expresses two sides of a geeky
high school teenager growing up in the tough parts of Inglewood and having interests and hobbies that
are not typically seen in a tough urban movie. It also shows counterstereotypic situations that usually
would not be depicted with these characters. Rick Famuyiwa s Movie, Dope, first breaks down the
conformality of society and the way people think, then place the broken pieces together in a way to
make the audience see life in different perspectives which, honestly, makes this movie unlike any
other 90s based movie that we have all come to know as repetitive. The movie s first few seconds is
one that gives an overview of what is to come throughout the movie. It starts off with several
definitions of dope, those being someone who is portrayed as unintelligent, an illegal substance, and
an American slang that can be closely related to the term cool. All three powerful definitions expresses
something edgy about the movie. For instance, the main climax of the movie is about Malcolm and his

Cultural Competence Of Law Enforcement Agencies
Discussion
Although the questionnaire and interview processes are useful in gaining a better understanding of the
cultural competence of law enforcement agencies, they are not helpful in improving the cultural
competency of those agencies. This is where instituting mandatory cultural competency training
comes into play. For example, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission proposed steps and
recommendations to increase cultural competency and one of those steps was to develop and deploy
effective EEO and diversity/inclusion training for different state and local law enforcement audiences,
including department leadership, human resources, and hiring officials, union leadership, and
individual officers. (Yang, 2015). While this recommendation pertains to hiring practices, it would
also be very beneficial for law enforcement agencies to have trainings. Cultural competency training is
important and would greatly improve relations between law enforcement and the community.
A study by the Pew Research Center found that very few people in the U.S. say police forces do well
in treating people equally. (Pew Research Center, 2014). It is likely that the results from the Pew study
would be similar if the study were limited to Texas. Perhaps the results would be even worse in Texas
in light of the recent incident in which officer Miller shot and killed Christian Taylor. The study
illustrates how poorly the public views law enforcement in regards to treating people equally. Studies

The Importance Of Volunteer Work
One of the best feelings in the world, is knowing that you have made an impact in someone s life.
Volunteer work is one of my favorite things to pass the time. I love seeing the warm smiles on others
faces. I work with youth, the elderly, animal shelters, and cleaning up parks. I thoroughly enjoy
working with kids. Getting to play with them, spend time with them, and mentor to them fills me with
ecstatic joy. I have volunteered with kids who have special needs, orphans, and children with hearing
loss, I have also been a coach with flag football. Three years ago, I volunteered at my church with a
program called Revive. I worked with a wide variety of special needs kids in this program. Mainly
kids with down syndrome. With many of them I had to speak much slower than I usually would. And
often times, I had to repeat myself many times. I had to learn that developing the skills needed to work
with these kids was not a one time deposit that would cover you for the rest of your life. My main goal
with these kids was to make an impact on their life. In order to do this, you have to learn the child s
prefered way of communication. Some liked talking, some liked to draw pictures, and some liked to
simply just show you what they wanted. Working with these kids required extreme patience, a
patience that will become easier to develop in life and ultimately in my career as an attorney. I
mentioned it before, mentoring to kids really inspires me. I love being able

Kalamkari Essay
Kalamkari the ancient Indian art of painting
Kalamkari refers to a method of painting natural dyes onto cotton or silk fabric with a bamboo pen or
kalam. The name kalamkari translates as pen (kalam) work (kari) in Hindi/Urdu, and was most likely
derived from trade relationships between Persian and Indian merchants as early as the 10th century
CE. European merchants also had names for this type of fabric decoration: the Portugese called it
pintado, the Dutch used the name sitz, and the British preferred chintz. The name kalamkari is used
prominently today, and is synonymous with both painted and hand blockprinted textiles that
incorporate natural vegetable/organically derived dye stuffs. While there are many forms of kalamkari

CHARCOAL SKETCH
Most artists will sketch a charcoal outline on the prepared cloth before application of black dye
(kasimi). Some artists use charred tamarind twigs to draw, while others use commercially
manufactured charcoal or lead pencils.
The following steps are taken to prepare tamarind twigs (chinta boggo) for sketching: * Dried twigs
that have fallen around the tree are gathered and broken to a length of 3 7 inches. * To char the twigs,
a shallow circular pit is scooped out in dry soil and a heap of sand is kept besides the pit. * The dry
twigs are piled up to a height of 2 3 inches above the ground level. Some newspaper is also placed
among the twigs to facilitate burning. The twigs and paper is set on fire. * When the flame dies down,
sand is thrown over the twigs, and they are set to cool in the pit for 3 4 hours. * This slow cooling
makes the pencils tough. The ash coloured twigs are then unearthed, rolled between one?s fingers to
remove greyish bark until black color is revealed. * The pencils so prepared can be stored until further
use (do not remove bark before charring; else the twigs will turn to ash).
KASIMI (Black) Black ink/dye or kasimi is at the basis of all traditional kalamkari paintings; it is
used to outline all figures,

Essay On Girish Karnad
Godugunuri Prasad
The Man and The Writer
Girish Karnad is one of the foremost playwrights of the contemporary Indian stage. He has given the
Indian theatre a richness that could probably be equated only with his talents as an actor director. His
contribution goes beyond theatre: he has directed feature films, documentaries and television serials in
Kannada, Hindi, and English and has played leading roles as an actor in Hindi and Kannada art films,
commercial movies and television serials. He has represented Indian in foreign lands as an emissary of

Carla Borden (Washington; Smithsonian Press, 1988) and Theatre in India, in Daedalus, Vo1.118,
No.4, pp.331 52.(7) While as Karnad is a multi faceted personality, it is essentially as a playwright that
he is at his best. He confesses, I have been fairly lucky in having a multi pronged career. You know, I
have been an actor, a publisher, and a film maker. But in none of these fields have I felt quite as much
at home as in playwriting. In India, unfortunately, the writers cannot live on their writing alone; it does
not yield enough royalties for sustenance. Karnad says, One can t earn a comfortable living even from
a successful play. Take Tughlaq,. As we know, it s been enormously successful ¬critically as well as in
performance. Playwrights in the west have been able to retire on such successes or at least, to devote
themselves to that activity entirely. I can t. Today Girish Karnad considered one of the most significant
Indian dramatists. He has enriched the Indian literary scene by his contribution to art, culture, theatre
and drama. It is most befitting that Karnad has been conferred by the President of India, the
prestigious awards, Padmasri in 1974 and Padmabhushan in 1992. Also, he received the Gubbi

Becoming A Mediator Between An Organization
Seek and You Shall Find When an individual pursues the field of Recruiting, they are electing to
become a mediator between an organization with a need of fulfillment and a potential candidate
searching for a position to fulfill. According to the Fundamentals of Human Resource Management
Book, recruiting is the process of seeking a pool of applicants, or sources, for jobs within an
organization , (DeCenzo, Robbins, and Verhulst 128). Recruiters are often viewed as the face or the
image of a company for prospective applicants in search of employment (DeCenzo, Robbins, and
Verhulst 128). Utilizing the vast number of recruiting methods, sources, and skills will usually result
in a challenging, yet successful match for both the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, with detailed preparation and commitment to excellence, all of these challenges, (DeCenzo,
Robbins, and Verhulst 129 130), can be overcome by a successful recruiter. There are many two major
methods available for a recruiter to utilize in their mission to accomplish a perfect fit for their client.
Internal recruiters, also known as corporate recruiters, work inside the employer s company and are
usually on their payroll (Joyce) . It s important for the internal recruiter to keep in mind that the person
being sought for any position within that organization will have a direct reflection on the company
itself. Regardless of what they do, that potential new employee will have a lasting impact on the
company s image (Waldrop). For example, if the position the candidate is applying for is a receptionist
job, the recruiter would need to realize that in most cases, the receptionist is the first person a potential
client or customer will come in contact with. The same goes for a restaurant hostess, a hotel clerk, a
retail cashier, as well as number of other excellent, customer service driven positions. The recruiter
would need to make sure the applicant possess the skills needed, such as the ability to help others,
articulation of speech, patience, organization, and friendliness, to exude a positive reflection for the
company. Another possible source to consider in internal recruiting is employee referrals and the
company s intranet job postings. Some of the

The Emancipation of a Member of Congress
Our elected officials are sent to Washington to represent the people. In the case of the house they are
there to represent the people of a certain district. Senators are supposed to represent citizens of a
certain state. They currently have no limits on how long they can serve. There are many faces in
Congress that have been there for over 20 years. I intend to explain why having the same people hold
the same office is not healthy for the average American citizen. The original intent of the Constitution
was to limit government and the self serving interests that become tyrannical by their very nature. The
fact that the founders did not include limiting terms for Congress appears to be a great oversight. The
reason for this is simple. When a person was chosen to serve during the time of the founders it was
considered both and honor and a burden. The founders overlooked term limits because at the time it
was not an issue as it was not lucrative to be a member of Congress. Through devious legislation
Congress has turned these offices of service into an institution that is above the very people it was
designed to serve. It has become an institution that seeks power and allows corruption.
When one considers that the approval rate of Congress at any given time is below 30%, it would seem
apparent that citizens are not happy with how they are represented. The question then becomes Why
are the same members of Congress elected if everyone is so unhappy with how they

Revenge of Medea
Medea was such a different woman and people in her society were afraid of her, including men. As a
result of this, before Jason, she never experienced being in love. When she finally experienced this
type of love she went to no end for Jason. To protect Jason and her love for him she killed the beast
guarding the Golden Fleece, she killed her brother, and she left her home, family and everything she
knew for him. Most women would not have gone that far for love, especially women during her time;
but Medea was not your average woman. All of the things she did for Jason. But start when Jason
betray her, all the bad feeling coming.

Corinth, You have this city, your father s home. I m alone; I have no city; now my husband insults me.
(Pg. 25, line. 5 8). She said her family gone and she does not have anyone to lean on. The only person
she has was her husband but now her husband going to leave her and marry another woman. She had
betrayed her father because of Jason. She did everything for Jason. So she does not have family to
return. This is very emotional because when we feel sad, we just need someone to talk to or someone
who with us to encourage us. But Medea was in another country with different culture and believes.
She said in the country where she from if a man grows tired of the company at home, he can go out,
and find a cure for tediousness. We wives are forced to look to one man only. (pg. 24, line. 30 32). For
her she rather die instead of seeing her husband leaving her and she wants only her husband to her and
no other woman between her and Jason.
This is what Medea said to the woman of Corinth If I can find a way to work revenge on Jason for his
wrongs to me, say nothing. (Pg. 25, line 11 13). She said that because he s the only person she has and
she has no one to help her and no justices to help her. And if Jason leaves her she has no one to return
to. It is very easy to agree

Love For England And Lucy By William Wordsworth
Before the Lyrical Ballad was published, William Wordsworth spent time in Germany away from
England. During this time, he composed a set of poems that would eventually be known as the Lucy
Poems . This set of poems would make their way into the first edition of the Lyrical Ballad. All of
them, except for one. Out of the five poems he writes, I travell d among unknown Men wouldn t
appear in the Lyrical Ballad alongside the other four Lucy Poems (Locke, 44). This particular poem,
compared to the rest, is the most iconic poem for showing Wordsworth s love for England and Lucy . I
travell d among unknown Men is a four stanza poem with four lines in each stanza. The format is in an
ABAB style and consists of the first and third line of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that Wordsworth puts In Lands beyond the Sea in his poem signifies that during the creation
of this poem he was, at one point, away from his home. In this case that place was Germany.
Wordsworth also does this in order to connect to the audience on a deeper level of thought. For those
who have been through a similar situation as Wordsworth, they would feel the presence of walking
among unknown Men more noticeably than others. This stanza ties in with the following stanza, Nor,
England! did I know till then what love I bore to thee (lines 3 4), to make the primary message of his
poem clear: Wordsworth, during his time in Germany, is realizing how much he loves England.
Because he has stayed away from England for a long period of time he begins to realize how much he
loves it. Wordsworth loves it so much so that he states that, once he returns to England, he will never
leave England again (line 6). The reasoning, however, is not because he despises Germany or loves the
country of England in its entirety. Rather, it is because of the unknown figure of Lucy who is also a
separate focus in this poem. Wordsworth makes the connection between Lucy and England by
expressing how his feelings of joy and desire of England came from her presence. She is introduced
into the poem at line 11 and 12 in which she turned her wheel beside and English Fire and is
confirmed to be Lucy at lines 15 and 16 in which she saw a green field

Common law has roots in the English system of law, it developed in England following the Norman
conquest of A.D. 1066, which became Common Law which was the body of the legal decision that
were made by the English court judges. This law started out was an oral law decision making that
resulted in the court judges walking around the country that would go town to town to try cases. This
was the nicknamed the unwritten law which resulted in the oral law that served as the precedent for
deciding successive cases with the same type of facts, and this lead to the doctrine called star decisis
which meant to stand by a decision which was previously decided. This doctrine was the one that gave
way to a rule that prior law decision made was to be followed, unless it is turned over with a new rule
established if there is no good reason to do so. So in terms that are easy to understand, if society
changes can decide that if a precedent is no longer valid, a court of law may decide that a precedent is
simply incorrect and will adjust accordingly.
Common law refers to that law

The Cause Of Alzheimer s Disease
Who would you be if you forgot everything and everyone you know? Does taking away someone s
memory mean taking away their identity? Living from day to day not knowing the people around you

called Alzheimer s, and it affects around five point three million Americans a year. Alzheimer s is a
progressive form of dementia that is characterized by the loss of memory and other intellectual

10. Changes in mood and personality ( Memory Loss ). There are three main stages of Alzheimer s
that are characterized by specific signs that are generally similar at all ages. The first stage, mild, starts
with mild impairments in memory, communication patterns and executive ability, and depression, and
in this stage the disease may be seen as only normal signs of aging, not as Alzheimer s (Wattmo). In
addition, in this stage there also may be a marked reduction in the capacity to conduct more advanced
instrumental activities of daily living, and this may be recognized more easily as Alzheimer s disease
(Wattmo). In moving on to the moderate stages of this disease, it has been shown that common
symptoms are disorientation of time and/or place, dyspraxia, dysgnosia and decreased judgement and

Public Art Essay
Public Art Any drawn line that speaks about identity, dignity, and unity is art, (Chaz Bojorquey) is a
statement that I agree with. Art is perceived differently from all people based on their culture, religion,
personal taste, and many other factors. I believe that as long as what has been created is meaningful to
either the creator or even to somebody that is viewing it, it should be considered art. Art in the public
is a very controversial subject that brings up the important question of, Should public art be
considered as real art, personally I think that it should be. I believe that the difference between art that
is placed in a gallery and art that is visible by a community is the fact that what is acceptable in a
gallery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another possibly positive outcome of art in the public could be the affect that it may have on the
younger generations. If children are being raised in a community where they can see art on a daily
basis then I believe it will have a positive effect on their lives by allowing them to learn how to
appreciate art and what it has to offer. Art being in the public is also a way to grant people, who do not
have enough money to enjoy the luxury of going to a gallery, the pleasure of seeing something
aesthetically appealing on a regular basis. It also makes a town more interesting to visit; no one wants
to visit a town with not much excitement. I once went to an art festival in Baltimore, Maryland, where
they had green marbles ground up and put into the black top roads. This sight alone made my heart
race and made this town more exciting. For towns that may have tourism it could be a way to attract to
coming there or maybe even staying. Art can also be a controversial at the same time. There are many
people who express their idea of art in a way that, in my opinion, should not be seen by the public. For
example, many people consider paintings of naked women to be art, as do I, but I do not think it is
appropriate for a painting of that nature to become a piece of public art. Another example is people
who use profanity in their art. Swearing is not appropriate for a child to see painted on the side of their
neighborhood buildings. The thing

Trial Lawyer Language
What is language? Over centuries, language and communication have been vital to understanding past
and recent civilizations. Language has formed cultures and steepened traditions within communities.
In the past, researchers have examined the language of drawings used by ancient civilizations, but in

Simon had nominated himself a few years before as Binet s research assistant and worked with him on
the intelligence tests that Binet is known for, which share Simon s name as well. In 1905, a new test
for measuring intelligence was introduced and simply called the Binet Simon scale. In 1908, they
revised the scale, dropping, modifying, and adding tests and also arranging them according to age
levels from three to thirteen.
In 1904 a French professional group for child psychology, La Société Libre pour l Etude
Psychologique de l Enfant, was called upon by the French government to appoint a commission on the
education of retarded children. The commission was asked to create a mechanism for identifying
students in need of alternative education. Binet, being an active member of this group, found the
impetus for the development of his mental scale.
Binet and Simon, in creating what historically is known as the Binet Simon Scale, comprised a variety
of tasks they thought were representative of typical children s abilities at various ages. This task
selection process was based on their many years of observing children in natural settings. They then
tested their measurement on a sample of fifty children, ten children per five age groups. The children
selected for their study were identified by their school teachers as being average for their age. The
purpose of this scale of normal functioning, which would later be revised twice using more stringent
standards, was to compare

The Meaning Of Propaganda
Propaganda can be viewed and described in many different ways. These many different views and
descriptions are based on the eye of the beholder and their views. In the propaganda poster Are we
afraid? No! what I see happening is that Britain and its colonies standing together to fight a common
threat. But, the irony in this is that they are fighting against an imperialistic country while they are still
imperialistic as well. This document has several different meanings or messages that it is trying to
convey. One meaning portrayed is imperialism, that Britain has many colonies ready to help in their
endeavor. They have the manpower from their colonie nations to help back up and strengthen the
motherland in this war if need be. While

Critical Criticism Of Levis
Acknowledgement
We would like to acknowledge the help of Professor Kaushik Datta who has been very supportive
throughout the study. Without his consistent mentoring, this report would not have been a success. I

Constructive criticism and feedback would be highly appreciated.
Problem Formulation
Levis was one of the leading brands in India, which is known for its denim jeans. Levis was top brand

shows how tired the brand had been. For instance, the advertising done by Levi s for its Silver tab
range was one of the most hated advertisement. It was considered to be insulting and critics claimed
that it lacked branding . Similarly, the advertisement to promote Levi s low rise jeans which was

Safety And Security Of Mobile Payment Systems
Safety and Security of Mobile Payment Systems
Problem Statement
New technology has spurred innovative ways to spend money. As mobile payment systems
continually develop, consumer financial and personal information risk exposure. Industry officials
state the technology is growing, but security specialists argue growth of will inevitably attract fraud.
Smartphone owners must treat their phones as a miniature computer and equip proper anti virus and
malware software. Enacting preventative methods will help thwart security breaches over mobile
networks. (Ladendorf, 2013)
Thesis
Although major retailers have had credit card breaches, which devastated consumer trust in credit,
Mobile payment systems stay efficient, but risk personal and financial data fraud similar to plastic
credit card usage theft. Patrons fear merchants can track your shopping habits, location and financial
records using a mobile GPS signal. Nevertheless, worries that someone can steal their information
when sent wirelessly therefore consumer confidence remains low. Thorough safety measures will help
give customers composure and regain assurance. (Busby, 2014) (Sapienza, 2013)
Counter Argument
Mobile payment entities provide added safeguards for protection. These companies, such as Google
Wallet, Apple Pay and PayPal provide a unique device account number for each transaction while not
using normal credit card information. The number goes to the merchant, and then the company
triggers the payment.

Eastlyn Koons Robots Are Better Than Humans
The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can lead to a
future full of robots, claims Eastlyn Koons in Robots are Better than Humans. Koons lives in the
modern day where advancements are being made every day in the field of technology and artificial
intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot
rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear and pride, Koons asks the
world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the role it may play in the future. Koons
starts off the intro of her satirical essay by using sarcasm and rhetorical in order to show the audience
what is happening with the world at that time and establish the satire of her essay. In the first sentence,
Koons claims that robots are better than humans, as they are humans favorite things , suggesting that
the humans basically created their own better version. Koons utilizes a rhetorical question to ask why
humans are still there , showcasing the dispensability and non necessity of humans when robots are
present. By doing so, Koons demonstrates that humans have, in a way, become the cause of their own
downfall. After establishing the satirical nature of her essay, Koons sets the context to explain the
reasoning behind the essay. She talks about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Grammar Is The Foundation Of The Majority Of Our Literary...
Grammar is the foundation of the majority of our literary works throughout the years. Although as
teaching styles evolve throughout time, the instruction of grammar should evolve as well. An article in
The Atlantic, The Wrong Way to Teach Grammar, by Michelle Navarre Cleary, touches base on how
grammar lessons today should be learned through the use of creative writing rather than more
traditional means of grammar instruction. Her article does well as she connects the reader logically
and emotionally about how grammar hinders people s passion of English and writing. Although, I do
believe that grammar can first be taught by more traditional means to understand how to use the skill
and then later be applied through creative writing, rather than eliminating grammar lessons altogether.
The author, Michelle Cleary, who is now an associate professor and dean at DePaul University is
accredited with her professional writing skills. Before working at DePaul, she taught writing at a
community college for eight years. However, the dropout rate at the community college was
astoundingly at a 90 percent rate. She infers that one of the primary culprits for not finishing school
was the required developmental writing classes with traditional grammar lessons. Ms. Cleary also
mentions how students tell her these grammar confessions which would altogether have them avoid
writing. Although grammar is not generally enjoyable to learn, it is helpful to learn and refresh the
rules of grammar

Star Wars was a momentous movie for the time, thanks to the technology, just like Avatar, Star Wars
film makers used green or blue screens, instead of using mirrors to project models and sets into live
action, as previously done to. Both movies used special effects, but particularly in Star Wars this
proved a benefit for the film. The special effect techniques advanced enough and look real enough for
the time, for example the use of holographs for communication. Star Wars set the standard that it was
beneficial to invest heavily in special effects to make the movie stand out, profitable, and have staying
power. Another reason why Star Wars was thought to be ahead of the time was from having surround

both governmental and individual levels need to be implemented in order to protect the welfare of
future life.
Introduction
In an era of rising technology and increasing population, demands on the environment are continually
being pushed to new levels. As a result, it becomes important for us to expand our knowledge about
the environment and take appropriate actions to protect this element of most importance to human
existence. One component of our environment experiencing some of the greatest abuse due to humans

Some of the major greenhouse gases excluding water vapor are: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous
oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. Of these, CO2 is the most important because of the vast amount
released by human activity. Before the Industrial Revolution, atmospheric concentrations of carbon
dioxide was 280 ppm; it has now risen to a level of 360 ppm today with an annual increase of 2 ppm
(Rising Carbon, 1992).
There are various consequences that may arise if significant global warming begins to take effect.
Some scientists believe that over the next 50 years, global temperatures could rise by as much as 1.5
4.5 degrees Celsius worldwide (Climate Change, 1997). Many speculate that this increase in
temperatures could produce profound, if not devastating effects to our environment and ourselves.
Already, many scientists are attributing some of the severe weather around the world such as
hurricanes, floods, and droughts to global warming (Bernard, 1993). The high latitude regions are
likely to have the largest temperature change, while regions such as the North American Great Plains
are predicted to feel a large decrease in precipitation (Climate Change, 1997). In regions with a
lowered precipitation rate, agriculture would suffer, potentially causing severe economic and food
shortage problems. Numerous species of plants and animals could also suffer, causing permanent
damage to ecosystems and biodiversity. It is also thought that because of

How Does Sartre View Of Human Consciousness
The terms identified helps to articulate how Sartre views human consciousness. The sense of
forlornness results from the rejection of all transcendental and totalizing ideas. When Sartre argues
that human beings are forlorn, he is stressing the idea that they are without any sort of guidance from
transcendent ends. They are trapped with only their sense of freedom present, which brings about a
natural condition of anguish, in that nothing nor anyone can help to alleviate the pain of isolation and
loneliness, the condition of individual freedom, and more importantly, having to choose. It is this
choice that causes despair for nothing can lighten the burden of the agony of choice. Take, for
example, the student to whom Sartre alludes.

Review Of Sci Fi
Sci fi Paper Synopsis My sci fi paper will be about humanity s first trip to Mars. It will explore the
challenges, as well as the luxuries, of being on this first manned mission to Mars. A crew of over 100
of the Earth s best scientists travel to a new world to explore and start a colony. This paper will follow
closely with Elon Musk s current plan to put humans on Mars in the not so distant future, and will
look into the advanced technologies developed for this purpose.
A New World
(Intro) There are many questions that need to be answered about how to successfully put humans on
Mars and eventually colonize this new world. Yet there are also several new technological advances
that have been made or are planned for the near future that will make this groundbreaking mission
possible. Some of these critical questions that need to be answered include the following: How will
humans have access to drinkable water on Mars? How will humans handle and adapt to a lower
gravity environment? What kind of rocket will be used to send humans to Mars? When can we expect
that technology to be ready? How is all of this technology supposed to work to put humans on Mars?
By answering these questions, we will create a picture of what it will look like when humans finally
make it to Mars and start to colonize that new world. Before we dig into the details of the technology,
it is important to first ask, why should humans go to Mars? What do we gain from going to Mars?

Title: How do various mixing methods affect the production of milk fat?
Purpose
The purpose of the experiment was to determine which method of agitation, either shaking, stirring,
whisking, or blending, produced the largest mass of milk fat.
Background Information Producing butter is a task that can easily be done at home. Butter is one of
the most highly concentrated forms of fluid milk that is made simply by agitating heavy cream
(Douma, 2008). There are several methods of agitation, including shaking, stirring, whisking, and
blending. In this experiment, all four methods were used to determine which mixing method produced
the most milk fat or butter. First of all, in order to understand the making of butter, one must be
familiar with milk and its composition. The components of milk include 87% water, 4% fat, 5% sugar
or lactose, 2.6% casein, .7% albumen, and .7% ash (Ross, 1914). Milk is an emulsion, which is a type
of colloid. A colloid is a homogenous mixture in which large molecules are suspended throughout
another substance. Under this category, there are also two types of emulsions: oil droplets in water or
water droplets in oil (BBC, 2014). Milk is an example of an emulsion of evenly distributed fat
particles throughout water. In this experiment, heavy cream was used because it contains a greater
concentration of fat particles in water. However, in order to keep the particles from separating,
emulsifiers are needed to stabilize the mixture (Institute of Food

Difference Between Fixed And Fixed Cost
Fixed Cost:
Fixed cost as the name suggests implies any cost that remains fixed or does not change due to an
increase or decrease in the amount of services or goods produced. It is a periodic cost that remains
unchanged irrespective of the sales revenue or output, such as depreciation, insurance, wages, salaries,
etc.
The concept of fixed cost is used in short term accounting.
Fixed costs are those expenses that are necessary to be paid by a company, independent of any
business activity that is does. It is one of the two components of the total cost of a good or service,
along with variable cost. Fixed costs are not fixed permanently; they change over time, but they are
fixed in relation to the overall production quantity for the relevant period. For example, a company
may be having unexpected expenses not related to production; and warehouse costs and costs like that
are fixed only over the time period of the lease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Suppose a company has to pay $10,000 each month if it wants to cover the cost of the lease but it is
not able to manufacture anything during the month, the lease payment still remains due in full.
In economics, if a business wants to achieve economies of scale, it must produce enough goods to
spread fixed costs. For example, the $100,000 lease spread out over 100,000 widgets implies that each
widget carries $1 in fixed costs. If the company produces 200,000 widgets, the fixed cost per unit
would drop to 50 cents.
Why it Matters:
If a company has large amount of fixed costs, it has less predictable per unit profit margins than a
company having relatively large amount of variable

OAM carrying light beams have azimuthal phase dependence given by exp (ilɸ), l denotes the

division multiplexing because of their different charge numbers so that the OAM beams are
orthogonal to each other. Hence OAM beams can be used as information carriers for multiplexing
techniques providing high capacity than the existing multiplexing techniques. Rapid and exponential
increases in data communications are continuing to drive the complexity of our computing,
networking and sensing systems. Recently OAM has gained much interest in transmission efficiency
and spectral efficiency in optical fiber communications with the ability of carrying independent data

Kanner s Theory Of Autistic Children
In the mid 1900s, psychiatrist Leo Kanner and a pediatrician Hans Asperger used the same word
autism for a condition where children had deficits in socializing and forming contact. Stemming off
the greek word autos meaning self, Kanner stated that autistic children had good cognitive potential
yet they had islets of ability meaning their intelligence was focused in silos. There was an assumption
that autistics were incapable of intelligence and were mentally disabled. Later, Laurent Mottron
discredited the theories that autism is caused parents or refrigerator mothers and shed light on the fact
that neurotypicals lack the abilities of autistic savants. The view of individuals with autism is skewed

Background Of Intelligence Testing During Wwi
Individuals can vary in multiple ways in regards to their personalities, mental abilities, emotional
reactions, skill sets, etc. (Bauer Erdogan, 2012). These differences in people are referred to as
individual differences (IDs) and have been a significant area of study in Industrial/Organizational (IO)
psychological research due to their presumed effect on work related outcomes (Bauer Erdogan, 2012).
However, focus on IDs greatly declined due to the lack of research supporting the predictive power of
IDs in regards to work related variables, such as job performance, as well as, adverse impact caused
by the inappropriate use of ability testing (Daus, 2016; Bauer Erdogan, 2012). Despite these reasons
for the decline in studying IDs, many arguments exist to support the importance and practicality of
once again studying IDs. Rationales for studying IDs are discussed.
Interest in the study of IDs rose partly due to the introduction of intelligence testing during WWI
(Daus, 2016) and the development of the Big Five model of personality (Barrick, Mount, Strauss,
1993). When Robert Yerkes introduced intelligence testing into the selection procedures used by the
military, it allowed the military to efficiently and accurately place recruits into the appropriate
positions based on their cognitive ability scores (Kevles, 1968). After the war ended, intelligence
testing became much more commonplace in public areas outside of the military, such as schools,
immigration offices, and

The Secret River By Kate Grenville And William Shakespeare
How has the Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare used compositional features to express both
similar and different ideas of difference and power?
The Secret River, set in England and Australia, was written by Kate Grenville in 2006. William
Shakespeare s play Othello was written in 1603 and set in Venice. Kate Grenville and William
Shakespeare used compositional features to express both similar and different ideas of difference and
power. They have cohesive ideas of power such as the use of structure and symbolism to convey
power however, differ in their structure. They both expressed race through the context of the novel,
setting, narrative perspective and imagery. However, 17th century english conveyed the idea of
difference with greater subtlety than Kate Grenville s use of modern english . Similarly both texts
contain powerful characters, however, these characters are differently placed and different
compositional features were used to portray these ideas.
Kate Grenville and William Shakespeare expressed ideas of power through representation of objects
as well as the structure and society within the text. Both texts express power through gender, race and

Thirdly, since the total fixed costs account for 14.1% of its sales in the year of 1983 and 1984, we
assume the total fixed costs will remain at this level until 1989. Similarly, the account receivable,

For the depreciation part, we adopted the straight line method. Here since the depreciation of year

Draft And Outline Of David Suzuki s The Pain Of Animals
The Pain of Animals Draft and Outline
The Pain of Animals is an article written by David Suzuki and published in 1989. The writer discusses
that humans are using other species for their benefits and causing them pain by scientific experiments
as well as by pleasure purposes. This results in the extinction of many species and disrupts the
ecosystem. Moreover, David Suzuki s main point throughout this article is to explain and convince
readers that animals have body systems similar to humans and they also feel fear and pain. In addition,
he discusses that it is unethical to cause pain in animals for humans own benefits.
Suzuki s main thesis of this article is a discussion about the similarities between human rights and
animal rights. He also focuses on animals used for research due to their similarities such as their
bodies, responses, and nervous system with humans. In addition, humans use them for pleasure which
cause them fear and pain that is unethical. Suzuki has persuaded readers by connecting his childhood
experience of hunting and fishing as well as moments he realized that it is painful for the animals.
Specifically, the description about the holes in the fish s mouth and the pain and fear from it in the fish
is very touching to the readers.
Moreover, Suzuki made an effective discussion by talking about animal s life after being tested if they
survive. He made readers to think and feel about the pain of animals by his emotional questions, What
gives us the right to exploit other living organisms as we see fit? How do we know that these other
creatures don t feel pain or anguish just as we do? Perhaps there s no problem with fruit flies, but
where do we draw the line? (Suzuki, 1989, p.681). Suzuki s main purpose is to convince the audience
that animals feel pain and it is unethical to make animals suffer from pain for our benefits. Suzuki
suggests that it is not wise to use animals for research as well as for our pleasure to the extent that
results in extinction.
Suzuki mentioned in his article about medical research and experiments of Jane Goodall using
chimpanzees greatly affect the population of chimpanzees. Furthermore, human moves animals from
their homes and lands to zoos for education and

According to Adrian Palmer (2009), the nature and measurements of these five forces could be
concluding as the following:
The bargaining power of customer is likely to be high if there are few buyers chasing too many goods,
if the buyer purchases in bulk quantities, if the product is not differentiated, if buyer incur low
switching cost and if buyers are price sensitive etc.
The bargaining power of suppliers is likely to be high when: suppliers are concentrated and well
organized; the number of suppliers is small or their services are in short supply; you bearing a high
switching cost and you are not an important customer to supplier etc.
The intensity of existing competitive rivalry is likely to be high if there are number of small or equal
competitors, if customers have low switching costs and if industry is growing etc.
The threat of new entrants is likely to be high if capital requirements to start the business are less, if
few economies of scale are in place, if customers can easily switch, if your technology is not hard to
acquire and if your product is not differentiated etc.
The Threat of substitute products is likely to be high when: there are many substitute products
available; the quality of competitors product is better etc.

Correlation Between Self Esteem And Healthy Individuals
Studies relating to CNM relationships have not yet begun to explore the individual s self esteem. As
has already been discussed, the research relating to CNM relationships has provided a plethora of
information supporting healthy relationships and healthy individuals. The next step is to explore the
self esteem of these CNM individuals. Therefore, the purpose of this research proposal is to explore
correlations between self esteem scores on the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1989) with
relationship choice, including polyamory, swinging, BDSM and open relationships. The researcher
believes that based on the evidence presented of individuals who engage in CNM having many of the
same traits as those with higher scores on self esteem scales that the individuals who engage in CNM
will also score high on a self esteem scale. (For this proposal non consensual non monogamous
relationships will be considered monogamous as it is assumed that at least one party of the couple
identifies as being in a monogamous relationship.) Specifically, the researcher believes that
individuals involved in consensually non monogamous relationships will have self esteem scores
similar to the general population (See Figure 1). In fact, the researcher believes that the scores will be
scores associated with having high self esteem across all types of consensual non monogamies (See
Figure 2). Method Participants Sample participants would be obtained by attending local lifestyle or

Property Theft Report Example
On 11/10/2017, I was dispatched to 480 N. Rock Rd Belle Plaine, KS. for the report of battery thefts
out of multiple vehicles on the property. When I arrived I turned East off Rock Rd. and drove down a
long driveway that spans about 150 yards. As I was driving onto the property, I noticed that when you
turn onto the driveway you can not see the house from the road. The driveway has vehicles parked on
both sides and starts almost immediately when you pull in. The house is a white single wide trailer
that faces the West. I met with the homeowners who idnetified themselves as Henry and Ernestine
Frame. I spoke with Ernestine and she pointed out the vehicles that had been gone through and the
batteries taken out of. She told me the rest of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I was walking around taking photos of the vehicles I could not locate any fingerprints. It was easy
to see where something was touched due to dust on the vehicles but it appeared whoever was taking
the items had gloves on. Along with the batteries taken from the vehicles, four other batteries were
taken that were sitting on the side of the house. They were in a green cart that was moved down to the
end of the driveway to the west. Total loss of $200 USD for loose batteries. It was also found that two
semi truck trailers had been broken into, both had the locks cut and the doors were still open. I
collected both of the locks and placed them into evidence Locker #4. Inside of the first trailer I did
located a shoe print that was on the edge of a ladder. I took photos of the print and it was uploaded to
the S:Drive folder. As we were walking around Ernestine noticed the back sliding glass door was
open, she said it was closed when she left on Wednesday, We made our way to the house and entered
the back sliding glass door. When I entered the house it was stacked floor to ceiling with trash,
clothing and other items that I could not make out. Ernestine said animals sometime get inside and
make a mess. I really did not have a walk way to get through the house so I was walking about 3 foot
off the floor. The items were stacked so high I was almost able to touch the ceiling with my head. Both

Granite And Construction Of Granite
Granite The use of granite in the streetscape is primarily in the form of kerbstones that act as a barrier
between paving and road surfaces. Granite kerbs are selected for use because of their durability and
also for their aesthetic qualities. The environmental impacts of obtaining granite are those related to
quarrying and the emissions from transporting a heavy material. Granite is no longer able to be
sourced from the UK in significant quantities for commercial production. Most Granite kerb suppliers
import their products from China while the others obtains its granite from Portugal. There is a
particular environmental concern regarding the emissions associated with importing materials from
such considerable distances. The mode of transport used in these instances is both ship and road
vehicle. One supplier leader has recognised the savings of transporting products by water within the
UK and has converted to transporting its product by water and recorded a reduction of road miles per
shipload with an energy consumption reduction. Although this example states that a conversion to
transportation by ship has meant a reduction in energy consumption it is only related to the relatively
short distance of transportation within the UK. Other concerns regarding exports from developing
countries, such as China, are the poorly controlled environmental and social impacts of quarrying. A

  • 2. A Unique And Refreshing Adventure Dope A Unique and Refreshing Adventure ( Movie Review) Dope, directed by Rick Famuyiwa, is a coming of age story that pays homage to 90s vintage ghetto dramas and destroys all stereotypes of a teenager coming from the hood. The character, Malcolm (Shameik Moore), whose entire style, from his classic high top hair cut to his 90s fashioned clothing and shoes, conveys an obsession with hip hop s golden age, which for Malcolm continued until 2001. This movie expresses two sides of a geeky high school teenager growing up in the tough parts of Inglewood and having interests and hobbies that are not typically seen in a tough urban movie. It also shows counterstereotypic situations that usually would not be depicted with these characters. Rick Famuyiwa s Movie, Dope, first breaks down the conformality of society and the way people think, then place the broken pieces together in a way to make the audience see life in different perspectives which, honestly, makes this movie unlike any other 90s based movie that we have all come to know as repetitive. The movie s first few seconds is one that gives an overview of what is to come throughout the movie. It starts off with several definitions of dope, those being someone who is portrayed as unintelligent, an illegal substance, and an American slang that can be closely related to the term cool. All three powerful definitions expresses something edgy about the movie. For instance, the main climax of the movie is about Malcolm and his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cultural Competence Of Law Enforcement Agencies Discussion Although the questionnaire and interview processes are useful in gaining a better understanding of the cultural competence of law enforcement agencies, they are not helpful in improving the cultural competency of those agencies. This is where instituting mandatory cultural competency training comes into play. For example, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission proposed steps and recommendations to increase cultural competency and one of those steps was to develop and deploy effective EEO and diversity/inclusion training for different state and local law enforcement audiences, including department leadership, human resources, and hiring officials, union leadership, and individual officers. (Yang, 2015). While this recommendation pertains to hiring practices, it would also be very beneficial for law enforcement agencies to have trainings. Cultural competency training is important and would greatly improve relations between law enforcement and the community. A study by the Pew Research Center found that very few people in the U.S. say police forces do well in treating people equally. (Pew Research Center, 2014). It is likely that the results from the Pew study would be similar if the study were limited to Texas. Perhaps the results would be even worse in Texas in light of the recent incident in which officer Miller shot and killed Christian Taylor. The study illustrates how poorly the public views law enforcement in regards to treating people equally. Studies ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Volunteer Work One of the best feelings in the world, is knowing that you have made an impact in someone s life. Volunteer work is one of my favorite things to pass the time. I love seeing the warm smiles on others faces. I work with youth, the elderly, animal shelters, and cleaning up parks. I thoroughly enjoy working with kids. Getting to play with them, spend time with them, and mentor to them fills me with ecstatic joy. I have volunteered with kids who have special needs, orphans, and children with hearing loss, I have also been a coach with flag football. Three years ago, I volunteered at my church with a program called Revive. I worked with a wide variety of special needs kids in this program. Mainly kids with down syndrome. With many of them I had to speak much slower than I usually would. And often times, I had to repeat myself many times. I had to learn that developing the skills needed to work with these kids was not a one time deposit that would cover you for the rest of your life. My main goal with these kids was to make an impact on their life. In order to do this, you have to learn the child s prefered way of communication. Some liked talking, some liked to draw pictures, and some liked to simply just show you what they wanted. Working with these kids required extreme patience, a patience that will become easier to develop in life and ultimately in my career as an attorney. I mentioned it before, mentoring to kids really inspires me. I love being able ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Kalamkari Essay Kalamkari the ancient Indian art of painting Kalamkari refers to a method of painting natural dyes onto cotton or silk fabric with a bamboo pen or kalam. The name kalamkari translates as pen (kalam) work (kari) in Hindi/Urdu, and was most likely derived from trade relationships between Persian and Indian merchants as early as the 10th century CE. European merchants also had names for this type of fabric decoration: the Portugese called it pintado, the Dutch used the name sitz, and the British preferred chintz. The name kalamkari is used prominently today, and is synonymous with both painted and hand blockprinted textiles that incorporate natural vegetable/organically derived dye stuffs. CHARCOAL SKETCH Most artists will sketch a charcoal outline on the prepared cloth before application of black dye (kasimi). Some artists use charred tamarind twigs to draw, while others use commercially manufactured charcoal or lead pencils. The following steps are taken to prepare tamarind twigs (chinta boggo) for sketching: * Dried twigs that have fallen around the tree are gathered and broken to a length of 3 7 inches. * To char the twigs, a shallow circular pit is scooped out in dry soil and a heap of sand is kept besides the pit. * The dry twigs are piled up to a height of 2 3 inches above the ground level. Some newspaper is also placed among the twigs to facilitate burning. The twigs and paper is set on fire. * When the flame dies down, sand is thrown over the twigs, and they are set to cool in the pit for 3 4 hours. * This slow cooling makes the pencils tough. The ash coloured twigs are then unearthed, rolled between one?s fingers to remove greyish bark until black color is revealed. * The pencils so prepared can be stored until further use (do not remove bark before charring; else the twigs will turn to ash). KASIMI (Black) Black ink/dye or kasimi is at the basis of all traditional kalamkari paintings; it is used to outline all figures, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He has given the Indian theatre a richness that could probably be equated only with his talents as an actor director. He confesses, I have been fairly lucky in having a multi pronged career. You know, I have been an actor, a publisher, and a film maker. But in none of these fields have I felt quite as much at home as in playwriting. In India, unfortunately, the writers cannot live on their writing alone; it does not yield enough royalties for sustenance. Karnad says, One can t earn a comfortable living even from a successful play. Take Tughlaq,. As we know, it s been enormously successful ¬critically as well as in performance. There are many two major methods available for a recruiter to utilize in their mission to accomplish a perfect fit for their client. Internal recruiters, also known as corporate recruiters, work inside the employer s company and are usually on their payroll (Joyce) . It s important for the internal recruiter to keep in mind that the person being sought for any position within that organization will have a direct reflection on the company itself. Regardless of what they do, that potential new employee will have a lasting impact on the company s image (Waldrop). For example, if the position the candidate is applying for is a receptionist job, the recruiter would need to realize that in most cases, the receptionist is the first person a potential client or customer will come in contact with. The same goes for a restaurant hostess, a hotel clerk, a retail cashier, as well as number of other excellent, customer service driven positions. The recruiter would need to make sure the applicant possess the skills needed, such as the ability to help others, articulation of speech, patience, organization, and friendliness, to exude a positive reflection for the company. Another possible source to consider in internal recruiting is employee referrals and the company s intranet job postings. Some of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Emancipation of a Member of Congress Our elected officials are sent to Washington to represent the people. In the case of the house they are there to represent the people of a certain district. Senators are supposed to represent citizens of a certain state. They currently have no limits on how long they can serve. There are many faces in Congress that have been there for over 20 years. I intend to explain why having the same people hold the same office is not healthy for the average American citizen. The original intent of the Constitution was to limit government and the self serving interests that become tyrannical by their very nature. The fact that the founders did not include limiting terms for Congress appears to be a great oversight. The reason for this is simple. When a person was chosen to serve during the time of the founders it was considered both and honor and a burden. The founders overlooked term limits because at the time it was not an issue as it was not lucrative to be a member of Congress. Through devious legislation Congress has turned these offices of service into an institution that is above the very people it was designed to serve. It has become an institution that seeks power and allows corruption. When one considers that the approval rate of Congress at any given time is below 30%, it would seem apparent that citizens are not happy with how they are represented. The question then becomes Why are the same members of Congress elected if everyone is so unhappy with how they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result of this, before Jason, she never experienced being in love. When she finally experienced this type of love she went to no end for Jason. To protect Jason and her love for him she killed the beast guarding the Golden Fleece, she killed her brother, and she left her home, family and everything she knew for him. All of them, except for one. Out of the five poems he writes, I travell d among unknown Men wouldn t appear in the Lyrical Ballad alongside the other four Lucy Poems (Locke, 44). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that Wordsworth puts In Lands beyond the Sea in his poem signifies that during the creation of this poem he was, at one point, away from his home. In this case that place was Germany. Wordsworth also does this in order to connect to the audience on a deeper level of thought. For those who have been through a similar situation as Wordsworth, they would feel the presence of walking among unknown Men more noticeably than others. This stanza ties in with the following stanza, Nor, England! did I know till then what love I bore to thee (lines 3 4), to make the primary message of his poem clear: Wordsworth, during his time in Germany, is realizing how much he loves England. Because he has stayed away from England for a long period of time he begins to realize how much he loves it. Wordsworth loves it so much so that he states that, once he returns to England, he will never leave England again (line 6). The reasoning, however, is not because he despises Germany or loves the country of England in its entirety. Rather, it is because of the unknown figure of Lucy who is also a separate focus in this poem. Wordsworth makes the connection between Lucy and England by expressing how his feelings of joy and desire of England came from her presence. She is introduced into the poem at line 11 and 12 in which she turned her wheel beside and English Fire and is confirmed to be Lucy at lines 15 and 16 in which she saw a green field ... Provide examples of each law and discuss what U.S. Constitution amendments were implemented to protect the rights of businesses and organizations. Discuss the topics you are comfortable with, the topics you struggled with, and how the weekly topics relate to application in your field. Common law has roots in the English system of law, it developed in England following the Norman conquest of A.D. 1066, which became Common Law which was the body of the legal decision that were made by the English court judges. This law started out was an oral law decision making that resulted in the court judges walking around the country that would go town to town to try cases. This was the nicknamed the unwritten law which resulted in the oral law that served as the precedent for deciding successive cases with the same type of facts, and this lead to the doctrine called star decisis which meant to stand by a decision which was previously decided. This doctrine was the one that gave way to a rule that prior law decision made was to be followed, unless it is turned over with a new rule established if there is no good reason to do so. Art being in the public is also a way to grant people, who do not have enough money to enjoy the luxury of going to a gallery, the pleasure of seeing something aesthetically appealing on a regular basis. It also makes a town more interesting to visit; no one wants to visit a town with not much excitement. I once went to an art festival in Baltimore, Maryland, where they had green marbles ground up and put into the black top roads. This sight alone made my heart race and made this town more exciting. There are many people who express their idea of art in a way that, in my opinion, should not be seen by the public. For example, many people consider paintings of naked women to be art, as do I, but I do not think it is appropriate for a painting of that nature to become a piece of public art. In 1908, they revised the scale, dropping, modifying, and adding tests and also arranging them according to age levels from three to thirteen. Binet and Simon, in creating what historically is known as the Binet Simon Scale, comprised a variety of tasks they thought were representative of typical children s abilities at various ages. This task selection process was based on their many years of observing children in natural settings. They then tested their measurement on a sample of fifty children, ten children per five age groups. An article in The Atlantic, The Wrong Way to Teach Grammar, by Michelle Navarre Cleary, touches base on how grammar lessons today should be learned through the use of creative writing rather than more traditional means of grammar instruction. Her article does well as she connects the reader logically and emotionally about how grammar hinders people s passion of English and writing. They are trapped with only their sense of freedom present, which brings about a natural condition of anguish, in that nothing nor anyone can help to alleviate the pain of isolation and loneliness, the condition of individual freedom, and more importantly, having to choose. It is this choice that causes despair for nothing can lighten the burden of the agony of choice. Take, for example, the student to whom Sartre alludes. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Review Of Sci Fi Sci fi Paper Synopsis My sci fi paper will be about humanity s first trip to Mars. It will explore the challenges, as well as the luxuries, of being on this first manned mission to Mars. A crew of over 100 of the Earth s best scientists travel to a new world to explore and start a colony. This paper will follow closely with Elon Musk s current plan to put humans on Mars in the not so distant future, and will look into the advanced technologies developed for this purpose. A New World (Intro) There are many questions that need to be answered about how to successfully put humans on Mars and eventually colonize this new world. Yet there are also several new technological advances that have been made or are planned for the near future that will make this groundbreaking mission possible. Some of these critical questions that need to be answered include the following: How will humans have access to drinkable water on Mars? How will humans handle and adapt to a lower gravity environment? What kind of rocket will be used to send humans to Mars? When can we expect that technology to be ready? How is all of this technology supposed to work to put humans on Mars? By answering these questions, we will create a picture of what it will look like when humans finally make it to Mars and start to colonize that new world. Before we dig into the details of the technology, it is important to first ask, why should humans go to Mars? What do we gain from going to Mars? Many scientists have a ... • 30. Explain How Do Various Mixing Methods Affect The... Title: How do various mixing methods affect the production of milk fat? Purpose The purpose of the experiment was to determine which method of agitation, either shaking, stirring, whisking, or blending, produced the largest mass of milk fat. Background Information Producing butter is a task that can easily be done at home. Butter is one of the most highly concentrated forms of fluid milk that is made simply by agitating heavy cream (Douma, 2008). There are several methods of agitation, including shaking, stirring, whisking, and blending. In this experiment, all four methods were used to determine which mixing method produced the most milk fat or butter. First of all, in order to understand the making of butter, one must be familiar with milk and its composition. The components of milk include 87% water, 4% fat, 5% sugar or lactose, 2.6% casein, .7% albumen, and .7% ash (Ross, 1914). Milk is an emulsion, which is a type of colloid. A colloid is a homogenous mixture in which large molecules are suspended throughout another substance. Under this category, there are also two types of emulsions: oil droplets in water or water droplets in oil (BBC, 2014). Milk is an example of an emulsion of evenly distributed fat particles throughout water. In this experiment, heavy cream was used because it contains a greater concentration of fat particles in water. However, in order to keep the particles from separating, emulsifiers are needed to stabilize the mixture (Institute of Food ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Difference Between Fixed And Fixed Cost Fixed Cost: Fixed cost as the name suggests implies any cost that remains fixed or does not change due to an increase or decrease in the amount of services or goods produced. It is a periodic cost that remains unchanged irrespective of the sales revenue or output, such as depreciation, insurance, wages, salaries, etc. The concept of fixed cost is used in short term accounting. Fixed costs are those expenses that are necessary to be paid by a company, independent of any business activity that is does. It is one of the two components of the total cost of a good or service, along with variable cost. Fixed costs are not fixed permanently; they change over time, but they are fixed in relation to the overall production quantity for the relevant period. For example, a company may be having unexpected expenses not related to production; and warehouse costs and costs like that are fixed only over the time period of the lease. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Suppose a company has to pay $10,000 each month if it wants to cover the cost of the lease but it is not able to manufacture anything during the month, the lease payment still remains due in full. In economics, if a business wants to achieve economies of scale, it must produce enough goods to spread fixed costs. For example, the $100,000 lease spread out over 100,000 widgets implies that each widget carries $1 in fixed costs. If the company produces 200,000 widgets, the fixed cost per unit would drop to 50 cents. Why it Matters: If a company has large amount of fixed costs, it has less predictable per unit profit margins than a company having relatively large amount of variable ... High Speed Data Transmission of Multi mode fibers using Orbital Angular Momentum Abstract: The design and fabrication of an optical fiber to support OAM modes for high speed data transmission. Generally OAM modes carry different charge and phase change, so the fiber has to be designed and fabricated in such a way that fiber support different OAM modes A compact low crosstalk multi ring fiber transmitting multiple orbital angular momentum is presented.Multi ring fiber consists of 7 rings each supporting 22 modes with 18 OAM modes which can be used for high density space division multiplexing. Hence OAM beams can be used as information carriers for multiplexing techniques providing high capacity than the existing multiplexing techniques. Rapid and exponential increases in data communications are continuing to drive the complexity of our computing, networking and sensing systems. Recently OAM has gained much interest in transmission efficiency and spectral efficiency in optical fiber communications with the ability of carrying independent data streams on orthogonal spatial modes. The key factor in the optical fiber communications using OAM is to design and fabrication of the fiber so as to support the the different modes of OAM.while the free space systems can theoretically use an unlimited number of OAM modes. Kanner s Theory Of Autistic Children In the mid 1900s, psychiatrist Leo Kanner and a pediatrician Hans Asperger used the same word autism for a condition where children had deficits in socializing and forming contact. Stemming off the greek word autos meaning self, Kanner stated that autistic children had good cognitive potential yet they had islets of ability meaning their intelligence was focused in silos. There was an assumption that autistics were incapable of intelligence and were mentally disabled. Later, Laurent Mottron discredited the theories that autism is caused parents or refrigerator mothers and shed light on the fact that neurotypicals lack the abilities of autistic savants. This indicates a potential commonality between child prodigies and savants genetically leading to the conclusion that child prodigies possess a form of autism but suppress typical signs. • 35. Background Of Intelligence Testing During Wwi Individuals can vary in multiple ways in regards to their personalities, mental abilities, emotional reactions, skill sets, etc. (Bauer Erdogan, 2012). These differences in people are referred to as individual differences (IDs) and have been a significant area of study in Industrial/Organizational (IO) psychological research due to their presumed effect on work related outcomes (Bauer Erdogan, 2012). However, focus on IDs greatly declined due to the lack of research supporting the predictive power of IDs in regards to work related variables, such as job performance, as well as, adverse impact caused by the inappropriate use of ability testing (Daus, 2016; Bauer Erdogan, 2012). Despite these reasons for the decline in studying IDs, many arguments exist to support the importance and practicality of once again studying IDs. Rationales for studying IDs are discussed. Interest in the study of IDs rose partly due to the introduction of intelligence testing during WWI (Daus, 2016) and the development of the Big Five model of personality (Barrick, Mount, Strauss, 1993). When Robert Yerkes introduced intelligence testing into the selection procedures used by the military, it allowed the military to efficiently and accurately place recruits into the appropriate positions based on their cognitive ability scores (Kevles, 1968). After the war ended, intelligence testing became much more commonplace in public areas outside of the military, such as schools, immigration offices, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The writer discusses that humans are using other species for their benefits and causing them pain by scientific experiments as well as by pleasure purposes. This results in the extinction of many species and disrupts the ecosystem. Moreover, David Suzuki s main point throughout this article is to explain and convince readers that animals have body systems similar to humans and they also feel fear and pain. In addition, he discusses that it is unethical to cause pain in animals for humans own benefits. Suzuki s main thesis of this article is a discussion about the similarities between human rights and animal rights. He also focuses on animals used for research due to their similarities such as their bodies, responses, and nervous system with humans. In addition, humans use them for pleasure which cause them fear and pain that is unethical. Suzuki has persuaded readers by connecting his childhood experience of hunting and fishing as well as moments he realized that it is painful for the animals. Specifically, the description about the holes in the fish s mouth and the pain and fear from it in the fish is very touching to the readers. Moreover, Suzuki made an effective discussion by talking about animal s life after being tested if they survive. He made readers to think and feel about the pain of animals by his emotional questions, What gives us the right to exploit other living organisms as we see fit? How do we know that these other creatures don t feel pain or anguish just as we do? Perhaps there s no problem with fruit flies, but where do we draw the line? (Suzuki, 1989, p.681). Suzuki s main purpose is to convince the audience that animals feel pain and it is unethical to make animals suffer from pain for our benefits. Suzuki suggests that it is not wise to use animals for research as well as for our pleasure to the extent that results in extinction. Suzuki mentioned in his article about medical research and experiments of Jane Goodall using chimpanzees greatly affect the population of chimpanzees. Furthermore, human moves animals from their homes and lands to zoos for education and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Granite kerbs are selected for use because of their durability and also for their aesthetic qualities. The environmental impacts of obtaining granite are those related to quarrying and the emissions from transporting a heavy material. Granite is no longer able to be sourced from the UK in significant quantities for commercial production. Most Granite kerb suppliers import their products from China while the others obtains its granite from Portugal. There is a particular environmental concern regarding the emissions associated with importing materials from such considerable distances. The mode of transport used in these instances is both ship and road vehicle. One supplier leader has recognised the savings of transporting products by water within the UK and has converted to transporting its product by water and recorded a reduction of road miles per shipload with an energy consumption reduction. Although this example states that a conversion to transportation by ship has meant a reduction in energy consumption it is only related to the relatively short distance of transportation within the UK.
