V For Vendetta
A realist style is a style that presents reality through artificial means. Something unrealistic may
appear as a reality to those viewing the movie. This style was used in the Hollywood Classical in the
late and is often used in movies today. James McTeigue, the director of V for Vendetta possesses both
the experience and the history of being involved with film that appear to be realistic even though it
consists of artificial elements. Many examples include Star Wars Episode II and The Matrix Trilogy .
By effectively using mis en scene, framing, sound, editing in V for Vendetta , the movie is able is able

The usage of the setting, specifically with props featured played a role in the revelation of the
narrative/storyline. This was featured during the sequence in which we are introduced to Evey s job. In
this sequence, One of Evey s supervisors open a package that was addressed to the same supervisor.
Immediately, Evey witnesses (what appears to be one of many duplicates of the same mask in V s
possession) V s mask in a package that was recently shipped to her workplace. This is the same mask
she witnessed when she had her first encounter with V in the previous night (V saving her from the
fingermen and V taking her on top of a roof so she would see the detonation of The Old Bailey).
Considering how her life was significantly altered after she came across V, seeing the mask provided a
sense of foreshadow that her life was going to be altered for a second time. In fact, this is exactly what
takes place as V storms the news station for a second time and has the news station in frenzy. Once
this happens, V takes Evey from the news station this altering her life for a second time. This
advanced the narrative by allowing Evey and V to have their lives officially merge for the long term
(not simply just a short term encounter). This is a representation of McTeigue presenting a realist style
to the audience through elements and characters within the film through

The Perils And Privileges Of Auto Ethnography
Reading Response Week 4: The Perils and Privileges of Auto Ethnography
Although not mentioned in this week s Marshall/Rossman chapter, feminism and autoethnography has
popped up before in prior readings, so there is some familiarity with both concepts. Now comes what
their synthesis looks like in practice. In this light the readings forced me to re examine positionality,
especially in the framework of auto ethnography. At first I thought this was too obvious but in light of
the titular question Stacey asks Can There Be a Feminist Ethnography? the feminist researcher s
proximity to the data and interpretation positionality becomes the fraught answer to consider, Her
awkwardness (if that s the right word) in balancing the tightrope as an ethical researcher between
product and personal integrity feels unexpected yet palpable. The dilemma she faces forced my
recognition that conflicts of interest and emotion between the ethnographer as authentic, related
person (i.e. participant), and as exploiting researcher (i.e. observer) (23). I feel as if she as a feminist
researcher was startled by the dilemma she faced and wonder if her surprise was compounded by not
anticipating it . How much an epiphany is it to learn that participants come with their own agendas?
Therefore participants come with their own inherent powers which threaten to usurp the researcher
and her own objectives. In the wake of this surprise she asks the provocative introspective question

Pros And Cons Of Conscription Essay
Conscription Can you think of any human rights violations situations? Some might say stopping
women from making an opinion or doing not let legal foreigner get a job but what about military
conscription? All Thai men must serve the country as a soldier. Thai men have two choices. The first
is being military student or reserve officer training course for 3 years when they were in the high
school age. The second choice is try their luck by putting hand in a box and pick one paper up, if it s
red card they have to be a soldier for 2 years, but if they got black card they are free to go. However,
there are still exceptions for some cases such as disabled, unhealthy people and transgender woman. If
someone tries to avoid this program, they will have trouble. For example, it is hardly to get job in
Thailand. Is not it a kind of human right violation? Therefore, I want to argue this, and I want this
system to be canceled. Image 1: Thai young men are waiting for the drafting
(Conscription of ladyboy. 2012. Http://www.clipmass.com/story/54130#, n.p.)
In my opinion, forcing someone to do what he or she does not want to do is terrible and
underdeveloped because they will not have chance to do what they love and what they are really good
at. In addition, the benefits and salary are very low, and draftees barely have chance to visit their
family. Moreover, some people die because of the punishment from the military superiors. I also think
that there are always reasons that

Essay On Medieval Castles
Castles were built as symbols of security, wealth, power and control. But, castles weren t only for
defense against the foreign invaders; they were also served as a basic tool in preserving the king s and
noble s power over the land. This essay will be proving the hypothesis that medieval castles changed
dramatically over 400 500 years due to the development of weapons used to destroy or capture them.
Firstly, it will talk about the Motte and Bailey castle, outlining a range of problems within it and why
it eventually became redundant. Secondly, it will confer about the stone keep castle that replaced the
motte and bailey castle, the problems it outlined and why it also leveled out. Then, it will discuss
about the concentric castle that took over the stone keep castle and why they became inessential. After
that, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Concentric castles were built in the 12th and 13th century. They were surrounded by two sets of walls
that were built at different height levels. The inner wall provided the archers a vantage point. The
symmetrical shape of the castle helped provide a superior view for the lookout men across the
neighboring country. Death hole was the name given to the space between the two walls. If
invaders/attackers broke in, they would be trapped and killed between the two walls. For additional
protection, these castles were often surrounded by a moat where as a drawbridge was used for entering
inside the castle. The Beaumaris Castle can be found in Wales. King Edward I first assigned most of
the concentric castles. Concentric castles soon became redundant, as they were very expensive to
build and required a lot of man power as well as labor resources. Siege warfare was mainly applied
when trying to take over the concentric castles. The castles would be destroyed due to the
bombardment from the ballista, the mangonel and the trebuchet. Also the wide spread use of
gunpowder ended the castles in

World War I When The Treaty Of Versailles
After the conclusion of World War I when the Treaty of Versailles was signed, the seeds were planted
that led to the beginning of World War II. The immediate cause for the beginning of the second war
was popularly considered to be the German army s invasion of Poland. As the leader of the Nazi party,
one of Hitler s key goals was to be the domination of Europe, which he aimed to take by force. France
and Britain had warned Germany in 1939 that invading Poland would lead to a declaration of war, so
when Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939, war broke out in Europe. This resulted in a violent
war that lasted for several years and resulted in the loss of several soldier as well as civilian lives. The
Second World War was a devastating war ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The intention when the plan was introduced was that all countries would join the League and thus all
international disputes would be settled by negotiation as opposed to being settled by war (Breuer,
286). If this plan were to fail then the other nations would have to stop trading with the country
breaking the agreement and if that failed, the other countries would be forced to then use their armies
to fight. The diplomatic philosophy behind the League of Nations represented a shift in thought from
the preceding century, where an agreement such as this one would be unlikely to be agreed upon. The
older philosophy, coming from the Congress of Vienna, had led to the continent of Europe being a
shifting map of alliances among several nation states, creating a balance of power that was maintained
by aligned armies and secret treaties. Under this newly introduced philosophy, the League was to be a
government of governments, with the established role of settling disputes between individual nations.
Although the idea for the founding of the League came from U.S. President Wilson, the United States
never joined (Breuer, 288). This lessened the power and credibility of the League, although the
addition of an industrial and military world power would have added more, later necessary, force
behind the League s demands and requests. Also, because the League lacked an armed force of it

Sugar Hill Gang Rapper s Delight
The first item I searched was a popular hip hop album Sugar Hill Gang Rapper s Delight. I
immediately noticed John Fryer had a more subjective way to selling this item. In the description, he
mentions where he purchased the record. Memories he had as a kid listening to SU radio station
during the early 80 s and the emotion it provoked. On the other hand, the eBay description was very
objective, offering only facts about said album lacking personality, in turn, feeling cold. Listing things
to include the credits and company in which originally recorded what some call the album to start it
all. There is a very noticeable difference in writing styles, Johns is personable with opinions and
insight to his personality. The seller on eBay only offered hard facts nothing to grab the reader I would
buy John s album over the random eBay seller any day. I enjoyed the description number one. The
energy and how he seemed to genuinely want someone to purchase the work, someone who would not
only take the time to give it a listen but enjoy it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Freyer recalls mixing tapes and sharing them with friends. Although he loved mixing music he
cannot devote the time it takes to make them, nor does he have all the equipment to do so. John s
description is subjective. The eBay seller listed a few facts about the brand and number of different
inputs on the mixer. He noted it was in good working condition and even mention it had a crossfader.
The eBay description was to the point and stating bare minimum information. The eBay seller s
description was objective. John s description had a history with the item and even gave some insight
on what it takes to mix a tape. Although I Like John s ad It lacks facts that should be included with

Barn Burning Loyalty Theme
The Theme that is most commonly determined from the story Barn Burning is the loyalty of Sartoris
Snopes to his family/Father or the loyalty to the law. Throughout Barn Burning I read about how the
snopes family is viewed by the people around them. With my thought of how you can be very loyal to
your Blood but instantaneously change your mind and possibly backstab each other, which in Barn
Burning this is a questioned to be asked as if Sarty is considered BackStabbing or doing the right
thing. The phrase Blood is thicker than water is a very questionable phrase which I have applied to
help me furthermore explain about loyalty. Does this also mean that following family is suppose to be
the road for sarty to take. If it were me I would have had loyalty to what my family or dad was like
towards me. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within a family there should be loyalty throughout every person. For me it depends on who has been
there for me or I know. Like sarty and his family, they all are assumed to be attached to the label that
they all are worthless because of the father s actions. Depending on the relationship or the bond I have
will determine how far my loyalty goes for that family member. Being loyal to family might be
everything but like in Barn Burning being loyal to the wrong choices heavily affected Sarty Snopes.

Argumentative Essay On Santa Claus
Sitting at the kitchen table, watching on as my siblings cried and my parents smiled apologetically, I
couldn t help but wonder why they d done it. Why they d gone so much farther than anyone else only
to end up here, apologizing for the entire act. Reflecting back, I don t think I realized how much we
benefitted from the charade.
My siblings and I were extremely creative children. Our creativity was largely inspired by our
unquestioning belief in magic, which found its faith in Santa Claus.
Santa Claus is the one thing children believe in unfailingly. I mean, the exact gifts they want for
Christmas always appear under the tree overnight, and for a child the only explanation is magic. But in
today s world of over parenting, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

realizing your parents are people, just like you, and aren t infallible. Having your parents share the
truth about Santa and also share their personal discoveries of the myth can actually bring parents and
children closer through the realization that they ve both gone through the same experience. It also
brings a new appreciation for parents efforts.

They could give us anything.
When we awoke on Christmas morning to our elves sitting on a PS3 shaped box, we only thanked
Santa and his magic. Years later, discovering that my dad had hidden away a single PS3 at work,
setting aside money we had saved to purchase something we definitely didn t need, brings me a new
appreciation for everything I ve ever received from Santa . Instead of degrading my relationship with

The Meaning Of Power And Religion In The Epic Of Sundiata
In Medieval West Africa, nations of political power and religion overlapped. In the Epic of Sundiata
we see this intersection in the role of prophecy. This essay will show that prophets regularly and ploy
supernatural means to reinforce the political status of future King, Sundiata. While using exerts from
the Epic, this essay will analyze the text to show the underlying meaning of power and religion in
Medieval West Africa In the beginning of the Epic, the griot lays out the story by setting up the
unforeseen future. The griot states, God has his mysteries which none can fathom. You, perhaps, will
be a king. You can do nothing about it. You, on the other hand, will be unlucky, but you can do
nothing about that either. Each man finds his way already marked out for him and he can change
nothing of it. The griot, as a repository for history and hence a spokesman for the largeness of Time,
often reminds his listener of how small mankind can be in the face of such greatness. The tone here is
a bit harsh as the griot points to his audience and tells them they know nothing of what is meant for
them. But this is the griot s purpose: to remind us that we are subservient to greater forces than any
man could hope to understand or master. No matter what anyone tried to do to hinder Sundiata s
greatness, they could not stop it. They just enabled what they did not want to happen. This is what the
griot is trying to tell them. He is telling them that no matter what they do to try

The Importance Of Civil Rights In The United States
Throughout the history of the United States of America, various groups have risen to demand equal
treatment under the law. In many cases the treatment they were seeking was in part pursued based on
the fact that they believed they were entitled to as a American citizen. In many instances these groups
were successful in advocating their position based what they felt were their rights under the
Constitution of the United States. Some of the rights sought were based on civil right, and some were
based on civil liberties. Each time a group or an individual has risen to protect such rights; they have
been met with considerable opposition from the many who interpret such rights differently. A great

Often groups will leverage civil liberties protections to make their case for acceptance or to gain
political clout to progress their cause. The pursuit of such an advantage means that a decision of which
fundamental value will be used to advance the issue. Some of the values that provide the best
argument are often competing with each other. The Value of Freedom, or complete absence of
restrictions or barriers, is a concept that was relevant during the times of slavery but is in direct
conflict with the concept of order. Order is achieved by erecting restrictions and barriers. However the
very order reduces the purity of Freedom. The most commonly pursued value is that of equality. The
desire for equality has driven groups to organize effectively and make the case to end slavery, and
eventually capitalize on legislation that created the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Though Freedom,
Equality and order can be mutually compatible there is tension among

Gun Safe Essay
The moment you decide to invest in a gun(s), purchasing a gun safe also becomes important. This is
the only logical way to minimize the possibility of accidents or loss of firearms. Buying a safe
however, is not always a straightforward process. You need to first familiarize with a couple of
recommendations, regulations and marketing techniques in order to make an informed choice. Let us
briefly take a look at what to look for in a gun safe as detailed under the following 7 questions.
1.What is the right gun safe capacity to go for?
Something you may not be aware of is that gun safe manufacturers have a habit of bragging about the
large number of guns they can squeeze into their safes. Unfortunately, what may be advertised as high
capacity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is why safes made of concrete amalgamates and steel are ranked as the most reliable. But at the
same time, some RSC gun safes are light yet still categorized as reliable. Are they really safe? Well,
yes because modern technology has enabled manufacturers to maximize on available resource to build
lighter yet effective units. The best way to determine if a safe is worth its weight is by comparing its
height weight ratio. For instance a 60 inch tall gun safe (RSC) can weigh anywhere between 500 and
800 lbs. Anything below 300 lbs would be questionable.
5.What Quality Of Steel Is Used?
Steel is usually the most valuable component of a safe as it provides resilient burglary protection and
withstands damage remarkably. However, there are some cases where manufacturers produce
substandard steel and use it to make commercial gun safes. Some use misleading tactics such as thick
robust doors but what they don t tell you is that only a thin part of this door is actually made of steel.
Others even boast of providing 2 inch of steel thick walls only to use a 14 gauge piece of steel
combined with layers of drywall. The recommended minimum guidelines of steel usage are as
follows.
*Door Outer Sheet Should be at least 7 gauge. Remember, even a thin looking 7 gauge steel is better
than a thick looking composite door that s made of 12 gauge steel wrapped around some weak

Why kids Lie In the world there a lot of kids that likes to lie. They lie because they don t think the
consequences that have telling lies. It is because sometimes parent don t show their kids to don t lie.
There are other parents that sometimes make their kids to tell the truth but kids don t do that.
According to some articles, news, and studies, there are a result about why kids lie. There are some
articles where show a percentage why kids lie, also there are some news or studies that show the same.
Some studies show why kids lie and why isn t important. Po Bronson Ashley Merryman in their article
why kids lie (p80). States that parents often fail to address early childhood lying, since the lying is
almost innocent. Their child s too young to know what lies are, or that lying s wrong. When the child
gets older and learns that lies are bad, parents believe that lying will stop. A child who is going to lie
must recognize the truth, intellectually conceive of an alternate reality, and be able to convincingly sell
that new reality to someone else. When children first begin to lying, they lie to avoid punishment, and
because of that they lie indiscriminately. One short example is, if there are two kids in room and one
of them broke a television the more intelligent will call their mom to tell that he wasn t the responsible
that was his brother. By the time a child reaches school age, her reasons for lying

Teaching Phonics Is An Essential Part Of A Child s Education
Understanding phonics is an essential part of a child s education, as the knowledge they develop will
assist them to read and write. Educators must have an understanding of phonics to teach it effectively.
Teachers need to support students to learn what sounds, letters make, which is a phoneme. Educators
also need to assist students to make the connection with the letters and their names, which is called
graphemes (Tompkins, Campbell, Green, Smith, 2015, p. 142). Understanding that each letter makes a
different sound and connecting this to the letter is known as phonics, which is required for reading and
writing. According to Miskin (2016, p. 9) the English language has more than 150 ways to represent
the 44 phonemes, which are represented using the 26 letters of the alphabet or graphemes. Australian
educators need to implement a successful phonics program, which is engaging by involving different
strategies that are suitable to student s level. According to New South Wales (2009, p. 16) phonics
must be taught in kindergarten and begins with songs, rhymes, and books. Synthetic and analytic are
two different teaching strategies, which are used to teach students phonics. These strategies are very
different to one another and are a similar method of the top down bottom up approach. Top down
allows students to use prior knowledge by using the phonemes to make a word while the bottom up
approach allows students to use what they already know or have seen in prior learning

Essay on Class, Socialization, and Politics
Elections are at the core of the American political system. They are the way we choose our
government, the source of government authority, and a means by which the people can influence
public policy. For most Americans, voting is the only form of political participation. Essential
questions to ask concerning these issues are: Who votes and why? What influences people to become
voters? And what influences how they vote? It is important to approach these issues from a
sociological standpoint addressing such matters as socialization and social stratification.

(Introduction to Sociology Pg. 222) Within this class system are three broad overlapping categories: a
working class, a middle class, and an upper class. People are placed within these categories based on
their occupation, income, and wealth. The working class receives the lowest income and fills blue
collar jobs in factories and farms, as well as white collar positions like clerical and secretarial jobs in
offices. The middle class consists of professionals like teachers, engineers, small business people, and
skilled workers. The upper class, often called the elite or ruling class is composed of those who run
our major economic and political institutions and receive the highest earnings for doing so. Class as
reflected in education, income, and occupation, does influence people s attitudes on a variety of issues.
People in the working class tend to be liberal in wanting greater economic equality and more
programs dealing with social welfare. This liberalism on economic issues contrasts strongly with their
ideas on civil liberties. Members of the middle class tend to be more conservative in their economic
views and more liberal on issues such as free speech and respect for civil rights. Therefore, class
attitudes on political questions are both liberal and conservative. The problem with figuring out how
these various characteristics that divide the population influences a person s political behavior is that

Emotions In Horror Films
I personally tend not to be a big fan of horror movies, although in the past I have watched some
suspense films as occasional entertainment. Having witnessed difficult situations in real life does not
bring me closer toward those movie genres which aim to terrorize audiences. Because of this, I cannot
really handpick a particular scene or film which has caused the biggest fright. I will rather explain my
point of view regarding this genre and our interactions with it.
Most, if not all of us, have experienced intense emotions when watching films in these categories.
Modern society, not only in America, but elsewhere, has become addicted to intense emotions and
almost immune to the carnage and terror found in many horror films. Long gone ... Show more

The effects of a movie or a TV show stay in our minds long after they have ended. Movies do expand
our intelligence and emotions, and make us feel sensations that are not usually experienced in our day
to day lives. They also help us understand life and remind us what humans are capable of doing, both
in the terms of good actions and evil deeds. But the necessity of fright and intense emotions seems to
be the sequels of an addiction to passionate emotional responses. Anger, fear, hate, anxiety, and thrill:
they are all emotions and feelings that are brought forward by violent media. This addiction recalls our
own fears about the unknown, about our doubts and questions about life and death. Horror films help
us understand death and our personal relationship with it, and sometimes they bring us closer to come
to terms with it. By watching horror movies and shows, the individual experiments with the certainty
of death in a form that is not far from grotesque and unhealthy, while still opening his mind and soul

The tropic hormone stimulates an endocrine gland to grow and secrete it s hormones. They are
secreted by the adenohypophysis (anterior pituitary gland) (Taylor, 2016). Examples are FSH follicle
stimulating hormones which help the female ovaries to mature and to ovulate. Adrenocorticotropic
hormone (ACTH) stimulates the adrenal cortex and secretes cortisol (Taylor, 2016).

The nervous system and endocrine systems both work to maintain a constant internal environment,
while also being able to respond and adapt to external events (Boundless, 2016).

hormones must first be synthesized, then transported to their target cells and either enters or signals

Essay On Yellowstone National Park Fire
Yellowstone National Park had experienced its driest season during the summer of 1988. The lack of
fires the previous years had led to a flammable buildup of old trees in the forests. These trees were
ready to burn, and they did. Towns close to the park were clouded with smoke and people were told to
evacuate as the fire burned out of control. Although this scenario is viewed as a tragedy for wildlife
and tourists, there were benefits that came out of it.
The event had burned more than 8,500 acres of land and destroyed the forests found in Yellowstone,
but there were outcomes of it that made up for the damage. For example, animals like fish, deer, and
bears had died during the tragic accident, but it turns out that it was convenient for the animals who
had survived. This was seen as an advantage for the other animals because the plants that they had
eaten before were burned, so they were able to feast on the remains of the already dead animals. Also,
in spite of the plants and trees being burnt due to the fire, they became useful as they were made into
new nests for birds like woodpeckers and bluebirds. Furthermore, it has also been proven that there
was no long term negative effect on the animal population in the park. ... Show more content on

After the tall trees in the forests had burned to the ground, more sunlight was able to reach places of
the soil that it wasn t able to before. Together with the burned materials on the ground, the soil

allowing periodic fires were better for the ecosystem than preventing them. The prevented buildup of
woody debris is known to make fires larger, which would spread it across the area faster and make it

Whisking By Ehrenreich Summary
Ehrenreich discusses how the employers manage to disclose any information of pay to applicants
during interviews in this way: I have mentioned the way the hiring process seems designed, in some
cases, to prevent any discussion or even disclosure of wage whisking the applicant from interview to
orientation before the crass subject of money can be raised. Some employers go further; instead of
relying on the informal money taboo to keep workers from discussing and comparing wages, they
specifically enjoin workers from doing so. (207) Ehrenreich uses a dash instead of a comma or a
colon. Dashes aren t as formal as colons but provide more emphasis than commas. She could have
ended the sentence where the dash began but she decided to include the part where applicants are
rushed into orientation before the talk of pay comes up. This dash made everything stop short. The
author connects these two together to create more emphasis on the crooked hiring process. It shows
that she felt it necessary to bring the actual process to surface because it is often hidden. The true
intentions of employers had to be exposed to show that many workers go into work blind of their
actual pay. It reveals how unfair it is for applicants. It felt as though the author was suddenly stopped

ingredients of a batter. Both belong in one whole mixture so they are rapidly whipped together to
make one. The goal for both scenarios is to have a finished product without any complications. Money
is often a problem that arises during the hiring process so the employers hustle to avoid this
complication. If the author was making this association, it implies that she feels the applicants are just
one piece of a whole and are not important as

The Importance Of Practicing The Right To The City
Practicing the Right to the City
Throughout the years, neighborhoods have developed in many different ways. One major change can
be seen by looking at the people residing in an area. Another way is by looking at the mode of
transportation used by people living in the neighborhood. In this paper, I will be critically analyzing
the neighborhood of Astoria, Queens in order to prove whether or not the people s rights to the city is
justified by city developments.
Astoria, formerly known as Hallett s Cove , is a culturally diverse neighborhood located in the
northwestern part of Queens, New York. People often visit Astoria for its tourist attractions such as

Census Bureau, ACS 2015). In 2010, it was reported that 64.5%, or 2, 195 people, of the population of
Astoria relied on public transportation. This dependence on the MTA increased in 2015 as 76.2% of
the total population reported that they used public transportation as their main mean of transportation
to work (U.S. Census Bureau, ACS 2015). This shows that people from these areas spend more time
travelling than the average commute time reported. Such information is crucial as it allows people to
see the importance of public transportation to different populations, but more specifically, to those in
living in Astoria, Queens.
Despite the mass utilization of the MTA Subway in New York, it appears that not everyone can be
fully accommodated by it. During the Community Board meeting 1 (Astoria, Queens), an issue

Free Cash Flow Estimation
The first part of the company evaluation was focused on the historical performance of the company
for the last 5 years and projection of its free cash flow in the future. As presented in Appendix 1, in
those years the Allianz Group faced fluctuations in its total income but managed to keep its business
profitable, with total expenses averaging around 93% of its Total Income. In terms of growth, the
company is expected to grow at a slower pace, 2,4% in 2012 due to the variety of cataclysms faced
throughout the year. In coming years however, the strong Real GDP growth of 5,5% in the emerging
markets (representing close to 50% of company s clients), a steady growth of 3,22% is to be expected.
The growing revenues however do not seem to have large impact on the total expenses: the third
quarter interim report for 2012 shows lowering expenses, totaling to 91% for 2012. In the coming
years however, the rising number of cataclysms and the stagnating economic environment in Europe
will most probably increase slightly those numbers and a 93%, a number in line with the incremental
changes for the past years. (Appendix 4)

among individuals who reported performing all injections within the safe injection site... (M.W.

someone else. Ninety four percent of frequent safe injection site users refused to lend out a syringe in
the last six months compared to the eighty nine percent of infrequent users. This is because InSite
users benefit from safer injecting education. Approximately eighty percent of safe injection site users
practice safer injection (i.e. reusing syringes less often, injecting indoors, and using clean water and
equipment). This is also because of learning about safer injecting. The transmission of blood borne
diseases has been reduced and will continue to if more safe injection sites are opened in the Lower
Mainland. The number of safe injection sites in the Lower Mainland must increase immediately. More
safe injection sites will reduce the transmission of blood borne infections, will notably reduce public
injections and improve public order, and will greatly reduce overdose fatalities. More safe injection

The book has two parts. In the first 264 pages, a manufacturing plant manager turns his failing plant
into a tremendous success. That part of the book ends with the manager s promotion to a position with
oversight over several failing plants. In the second part of the book (73 pages), the manager prepares
for his new job by trying to deduce a repeatable process of ongoing improvement. He s trying to make

The Heart Essay
THE HEART The heart is a muscular organ about the size of a closed fist that functions as the body s
circulatory pump. It takes in deoxygenated blood through the veins and delivers it to the lungs for
oxygenation before pumping it into the various arteries (which provide oxygen and nutrients to body
tissues by transporting the blood throughout the body). The heart is located in the thoracic cavity
medial to the lungs and posterior to the sternum.
On its superior end, the base of the heart is attached to the aorta, pulmonary arteries and veins, and the
vena cava. The inferior tip of the heart, known as the apex, rests just superior to the diaphragm. The

Myocardium makes up the majority of the thickness and mass of the heart wall and is the part of the
heart responsible for pumping blood. Below the myocardium is the thin endocardium layer.
Endocardium. Endocardium is the simple squamous endothelium layer that lines the inside of the
heart. The endocardium is very smooth and is responsible for keeping blood from sticking to the
inside of the heart and forming potentially deadly blood clots.
Chambers of the Heart
The heart contains 4 chambers: the right atrium, left atrium, right ventricle, and left ventricle. The atria
are smaller than the ventricles and have thinner, less muscular walls than the ventricles. The atria act
as receiving chambers for blood, so they are connected to the veins that carry blood to the heart. The
ventricles are the larger, stronger pumping chambers that send blood out of the heart. The ventricles
are connected to the arteries that carry blood away from the heart.
The chambers on the right side of the heart are smaller and have less myocardium in their heart wall
when compared to the left side of the heart. This difference in size between the sides of the heart is
related to their functions and the size of the 2 circulatory loops. The right side of the heart maintains
pulmonary circulation to the nearby lungs while the left side of the heart pumps blood all the way to
the extremities of the body in the systemic circulatory

Auxin Is Better Than Natural Auxin Analysis
Plant hormones are chemical signals released by a tissue and delivered to a receptor tissue. Auxin is
the hormone most commonly found in plants. Auxin regulates and aids in the development of plants
(Kazan 2013). The acid growth hypothesis states that an acidic ph will enhance the effects of auxin in
seed development and plant growth. Radish seeds were planted in acidic soil and administered natural
and synthetic auxin in order to test for the effect of synthetic auxin in an acidic soil on plant growth.
The reason for this experiment is to test whether or not synthetic (man made) auxin works better than
natural auxin in growth development. It was found that the natural kind of auxin works better in an
acidic environment than synthetic auxin.

After the process of pollination and the development of the embryo stops, a seed is formed. The seed
will remain dormant until it comes in contact with water which causes gibberellins (a type of plant

Analysis Of Anna Deavere Smith s Fires In The Mirror
My sense is that American character lives not in one place or the other, but in the gaps between the
places, and in our struggle to be together in our differences, (Anna Deavere Smith). Anna Deavere
Smith in her play, Fires in the Mirror, takes two different cultural communities and interviews their
standpoint of the conflict at hand. The underlying racism present in this community is soon brewed
into a pandemonium once the death of both a Black and Jewish individual take place. Fires in the
Mirror is a social drama that presents a breach as several Jewish males accidentally kill a young Black
boy in a car accident. Due to this incident, it causes a crisis within the community as a Jewish man is
later murdered by Black males to pursue revenge for the cause of this breach. With a social drama
following the guideline to find a redressive action to limit the spread of the breach, Smith in her
interviews portrays that this community fails to do so. Because of this, the reintegration becomes an
irreparable breach between the two. Consequently, due to the social clash between the Black and
Jewish communities, the city of Crown Heights becomes socially segregated. Individuals interviewed
in this play are heavily indulged in looking at what segregates them from one another that it leads to
individuals pointing fault or playing victim, which inevitably will never lead to a resolution to this
social crisis. Individuals that have been interviewed have focused their energy on what segregates
themselves from one another that it restrains them from foreseeing a solution to the social crisis
among their community. A major conflict brought up throughout multiple interviews was the scene
where the accident happened. Multiple interviews have their own perspective of the situation as well
as their opinion about the different ambulances that arrives in the scene.Rabbi Joseph Speilman in No

World War 1 was the introduction to a series of political, economical and social issues that involved
almost every major super power in the world. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in
Sarajevo in 1914 was the primary source of struggle that triggered a series of events which lead to
World War 1. Many nations, such as Germany, Britain and France were already armed and ready for a
war before the assassination of Franz Ferdinand occurred due to political unrest at the time between
the two countries. People are killed every day and this does not start world wars, however; Archduke
Franz Ferdinand was a key Austria Hungarian figure and the royal prince of Hungary and Bohemia.
His power and representation of Austria and Hungary and then his death by a Serbian assassin led to a
series of events that eventually ignited World War 1. Serbia and ... Show more content on

Social Injustice In The American Revolution
Throughout our cake, we had two major themes that were evident, social injustice and political
grievances. To demonstrate social injustice, we used medals for the Latin American Revolution,
Chains for the American Revolution, and a tennis ball for the French Revolution. To represent
economic inequality, we used tea bags for the American revolution, bread for the French revolution
and money for the Latin American Revolution.
For the American Revolution, The chains represented the role African American slaves played in the
revolution. The revolution motivated African American resistance against slavery. The tea bags were
symbolic to the Boston Tea Party when Massachusetts colonist protested against the Tea Act of 1773
or more specifically Taxation without Representation by dumping chests of tea into the Boston
Harbor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The gold medal represented the criollos and peninsulares which were the highest classes in the social
system. There, men who were born in either Spain or portugal held the highest offices and
military/political position. The silver medal represented the Mestizos/Mulattos. This position consisted
of mixed Europeans and Indians who served the peninsulares/criollos. Lastly the gold medal portrayed
the lowest class, the Africans/natives. This class was not only the lowest but also the largest. The
people in this class were not identified as citizens but did do most of the labor. To demonstrate
economic inequality, money was put on the cake to show mercantilism. Spain used mercantilism when
they took goods from Latin America and sold those goods to make their own profits. Latin America,
on the other hand did not gain any money except goods that Spain decided to give

Target Market of Holden Monaro Essay examples
The Holden Monaro is a coupe sports car in the line of HSV, or Holden Sports Vehicles, made by its
namesake Australian company. The car comes in a couple different specifications, but the engine is
always either a V6 or a V8, making it a powerful and fast vehicle. The original Monaro was created in
1968 with different species of car throughout the next three years. The second generation of Holden
Monaros was begun in 1971, which changed the body design of the car completely as well as made
the V6 engine no longer an option. The 1970 s Monaro was definitely a muscle car, though over the
years until 1977 the vehicle became more of a luxury sedan instead of the hard muscle it had begun
with. The Monaro was finally reborn in the 2000 s and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The distinct identity that this vehicle has in the marketplace is that it is a phoenix of cars, reborn out of
the old model of the Holden Monaro and made into a new, slick version. Holden would position this in
the market by saying that it is the most powerful mainstream Holden to be brought out, drawing
people who desire that kind of brawn and intensity in a car. The focus of appeal for the vehicle was
how the Monaro made a possible consumer feel. The older men would feel nostalgia by thinking of
the old Monaro, even though the style of body would be different, the emotional attachment to the
name of Monaro would be the same. The younger generation might look at the vehicle and feel drawn
to its subtle curves and sporty body design, featuring the double scoop on the hood of the car. The
focus of appeal might be imagining yourself behind the wheel of the Monaro and feeling the power of
the engine and the bucket racing seats, knowing that the car you are driving is both luxurious and
nimble. Something about just looking at the car or watching an advertisement on the television would
stir an emotion in the target market, and make them likely to go for a test drive and ultimately
(hopefully) purchase the car. In my personal opinion, the Holden Monaro does not hold a
spectacularly distinct product position from the other Holden Sports Vehicles in that line of cars. The
newer models of Holden Commodores are also revitalised versions of the same vehicle

The Pros And Disadvantages Of Modern Test Taking

Modern Test Taking
There have been many studies done to figure out which of the many testing styles allow students to
both retain more information and help elevate some of the pre exam stress, while at the same time not
putting too much work on the professor. Out of all the styles that have been tested, two of the most
common styles that constantly rival each other are the open book test vs. the closed book tests. Many
teachers still cling to the traditional closed books test.
A closed book test is a test where students are expected to study their note before a test is given and
try their very best to memorize everything that they can fit into their heads in order to successfully
pass the test, then go into the exam with nothing but the pencil in their hand and the test on their desk.
An open book test, is a test that allows students to bring either their notes or something that can be
written on such as a sheet of paper or a note card that was given to the student before the exam.
Both of these exam types have a wide range of both advantages and disadvantages.
One of the most common disadvantages that is often mentioned for closed book exams is the fact that
as far as the real world is concerned, closed book test are unrealistic. For many subjects the idea of
doing a task with nothing but the sole information in someone s head would be seen as not only absurd
but actually careless. An example of this absurdity and

Anti-Semitism In The 19th Century
Anti Semitism is described as a perception toward Jewish people which discriminated and prejudiced
them as a community. Jewish people as a minority group were discriminated from Christians for ages.
They were asked to abandon their religious formalities, in order to have full rights. Jews were accused
from the Christian church as ignorers of God, being devil people and unwilling community to join the
Christian community. All the claims or lies were considered as accuracy during that time. In this
paper, it will be discussed the importance of Anti Semitism from its origin and its current importance
as a perception which denigrated Jews. Since its origin, Anti Semitism community tried to deny the
emancipation of Jews. Jews were not allowed to own land, work in public offices and free trade
because they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to that, many Jews were integrated socially in Christian society. The complots toward Jewish
community did not stop at any time. An example of that it would Dreyfus Affair. Alfred Dreyfus (Jew)
was a member of French military and he was accused as traitor, on accusations that he was
transmitting secret information to Germans. His innocence was proved later but this affair remained as
an example of military corruption. The complots continued also in the 19th century by providing fake
publications such as Protocols of the Elders of Zion , which were against Jewish community. (Perry,
Marvin, Schweitzer, Frederick, 2005) The most activities against Jews took place in 19th century. This
is the period when also was legalized the racial ideology against Jewish people. With the formation of
Nazi party in Germany, the Jewish discrimination increased because that party gained power through
promoting Anti Semitism propaganda. During that period, also was published the book called Mein
Kampf . In this book Adolf Hitler the leader of the Nazi party described its big desire to exterminate
Jews, especially from

Eva Smith s Suicide In An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is set in 1912 before World War One. The play is centred around, a wealthy family
called the Birlings. The visit from the Inspector reveals that all the characters had played a part in the
suicide of a girl called Eva Smith. In some ways, all the characters are responsible for the death of Eva
Smith, each one of them did something that affected her in some way or another. Overall I feel that
some characters were more responsible than others for many different reasons. In the book we see
several different reactions from the characters when they find out that they are caught up in the
suicide, some were upset and distressed and others just tried to pass the blame to others and tried to
excuse what they had done. The characters selfishness was a huge contributions to Eva Smiths suicide.

answering to the Inspector, didn t appear very regretful about the death of one of his workers, he just
tried to shift the blame and make out like he hadn t done anything wrong. He felt that it was normal
for people of his class to do what he did. We can see from other comments he makes to the Inspector
that he doesn t have a good relationship with any of his workers, I have a couple of hundred workers
under me, who keep changing. This comment Mr Birling makes shows us that he often fires and gets

Pakistan s Objective For Win The Test Essay
Pakistan s objective to win the Test is a basic 76. Pakistan don t do basic. They do mind boggling and
unbelievable. It s the last session of the Test and rain mists surge towards St John s Wood. Pakistan
last won a Test in England 28 years prior Fazal Mahmood s match at The Oval. This win can shape
history, be an impetus for Imran Khan s new age. A win at Lord s, to take after embarrassment in 1978
and if there is one thing Imran can t stomach, it s mortification. His each cell has pride stamped on it.
This win will be a pronouncement for pride marked cricket. However the downpour mists are social
event and just 15 overs remain. Pakistan s opener Mudassar Nazar holds the record for the slowest
Test hundred. He doesn t show up, left in the structure to be fulfilled by his amazement six wickets in
the second innings. Imran places history in the hands of Mohsin Khan, to take after his dashing
twofold hundred in the principal innings, and Javed Miandad. The downpour mists are in a surge,
however Miandad and Mohsin are more dire, hurrying singles and whipping limits. Pakistan win by
ten wickets. Javed kisses the turf and keeps running for the structure. We are in the season of pitch
attacks, and where preferable to sprint in triumph over at Lord s? Imran grins for his announcement
triumph. Britain are back at full quality at Headingley to barely take the arrangement. Yet, nothing
brings some relief that first win at Lord s. Nothing. Ruler s is the home of

Tacos Research Paper
When asked about my favorite thing in the whole entire world, my mind is quickly filled with the taste
of the soft tortilla filled with my choice of meat, cilantro, onion, and salsa. Tacos are a traditional
Mexican dish but are eaten by everybody. A taco to us Mexicans is like a sandwich to Americans.
Anybody can eat tacos. It is not just a Mexican thing. These tasty tortillas filled with appetizing
elements are so cheap that they are found just about anywhere. Because of its deliciousness,
affordability, and easy access, tacos are my favorite. What makes tacos extra tasty is the variety we are
given. There is different type of meat that is offered like asada, al pastor, tongue, head, chicken, fish
and many for those hard to please eaters.

Folly of Science Exposed in Shelley s Frankenstein and E.T.A. Hoffman s Sandman
In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein and E.T.A. Hoffman s Sandman, elements of science are portrayed in
a negative light, warning the reader of the dangers of the unknown. Many aspects of science and
technology are portrayed from alchemy and robotics in the Sandman to biology and chemistry in
Frankenstein. The stories feature similar main characters that break the boundaries of conventional
society in order to investigate their desires. Each story features a living doll , or a creation of man that,
while first made for good, results in evil.
When we read The Sandman, we are left in doubt as to whether what is happening to Nathaniel is real

In his later actions, Frankenstein again behaves obsessively, by pursuing his own creation, absolutely
confident that only its revengeful death would provide a solution, no matter what the cost.
In the case of Nathaniel, we see the same type of obsession although, due to the shortness of The
Sandman and its purposeful fog , we don t have enough information to competently judge Nathaniel s
actions. The result, nevertheless, is strikingly similar. Nathaniel, incapable of recovering from his first
obsession about the Sandman is only to fall into another extremity in his love towards the lifeless
Olympia. How ironic are his own words, O you glorious profound nature ... only you, you alone,
understand me completely.
It should be noted that during the rest of the time, Frankenstein is rather inactive and passive, always
providing a moral excuse for that. He does not realize the deceitful nature of his behavior when he
undergoes one his regular spasms of desire to return to the virtues of domesticity, the amiableness of
domestic affection . Nathaniel, as well, exhibits the futileness of his passive response to his condition
when he deceivingly thinks that a return to a normal, domestic life will erase all his nightmares.
It is the pursuit of the unknown that motivates Nathaniel and Frankenstein in

This style was used in the Hollywood Classical in the late and is often used in movies today. James McTeigue, the director of V for Vendetta possesses both the experience and the history of being involved with film that appear to be realistic even though it consists of artificial elements. Many examples include Star Wars Episode II and The Matrix Trilogy . Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The usage of the setting, specifically with props featured played a role in the revelation of the narrative/storyline. This was featured during the sequence in which we are introduced to Evey s job. In this sequence, One of Evey s supervisors open a package that was addressed to the same supervisor. Immediately, Evey witnesses (what appears to be one of many duplicates of the same mask in V s possession) V s mask in a package that was recently shipped to her workplace. This is the same mask she witnessed when she had her first encounter with V in the previous night (V saving her from the fingermen and V taking her on top of a roof so she would see the detonation of The Old Bailey). Considering how her life was significantly altered after she came across V, seeing the mask provided a sense of foreshadow that her life was going to be altered for a second time. In fact, this is exactly what takes place as V storms the news station for a second time and has the news station in frenzy. Once this happens, V takes Evey from the news station this altering her life for a second time. This advanced the narrative by allowing Evey and V to have their lives officially merge for the long term (not simply just a short term encounter). • 3. The Perils And Privileges Of Auto Ethnography Reading Response Week 4: The Perils and Privileges of Auto Ethnography Although not mentioned in this week s Marshall/Rossman chapter, feminism and autoethnography has popped up before in prior readings, so there is some familiarity with both concepts. Now comes what their synthesis looks like in practice. In this light the readings forced me to re examine positionality, especially in the framework of auto ethnography. At first I thought this was too obvious but in light of the titular question Stacey asks Can There Be a Feminist Ethnography? the feminist researcher s proximity to the data and interpretation positionality becomes the fraught answer to consider, Her awkwardness (if that s the right word) in balancing the tightrope as an ethical researcher between product and personal integrity feels unexpected yet palpable. The dilemma she faces forced my recognition that conflicts of interest and emotion between the ethnographer as authentic, related person (i.e. participant), and as exploiting researcher (i.e. observer) (23). I feel as if she as a feminist researcher was startled by the dilemma she faced and wonder if her surprise was compounded by not anticipating it . How much an epiphany is it to learn that participants come with their own agendas? Therefore participants come with their own inherent powers which threaten to usurp the researcher and her own objectives. In the wake of this surprise she asks the provocative introspective question ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pros And Cons Of Conscription Essay Conscription Can you think of any human rights violations situations? Some might say stopping women from making an opinion or doing not let legal foreigner get a job but what about military conscription? All Thai men must serve the country as a soldier. Thai men have two choices. The first is being military student or reserve officer training course for 3 years when they were in the high school age. The second choice is try their luck by putting hand in a box and pick one paper up, if it s red card they have to be a soldier for 2 years, but if they got black card they are free to go. However, there are still exceptions for some cases such as disabled, unhealthy people and transgender woman. If someone tries to avoid this program, they will have trouble. For example, it is hardly to get job in Thailand. Is not it a kind of human right violation? Therefore, I want to argue this, and I want this system to be canceled. Image 1: Thai young men are waiting for the drafting (Conscription of ladyboy. 2012. Http://www.clipmass.com/story/54130#, n.p.) In my opinion, forcing someone to do what he or she does not want to do is terrible and underdeveloped because they will not have chance to do what they love and what they are really good at. In addition, the benefits and salary are very low, and draftees barely have chance to visit their family. Moreover, some people die because of the punishment from the military superiors. I also think that there are always reasons that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay On Medieval Castles Castles were built as symbols of security, wealth, power and control. But, castles weren t only for defense against the foreign invaders; they were also served as a basic tool in preserving the king s and noble s power over the land. This essay will be proving the hypothesis that medieval castles changed dramatically over 400 500 years due to the development of weapons used to destroy or capture them. Firstly, it will talk about the Motte and Bailey castle, outlining a range of problems within it and why it eventually became redundant. Secondly, it will confer about the stone keep castle that replaced the motte and bailey castle, the problems it outlined and why it also leveled out. Then, it will discuss about the concentric castle that took over the stone keep castle and why they became inessential. After that, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Concentric castles were built in the 12th and 13th century. They were surrounded by two sets of walls that were built at different height levels. The inner wall provided the archers a vantage point. The symmetrical shape of the castle helped provide a superior view for the lookout men across the neighboring country. Death hole was the name given to the space between the two walls. If invaders/attackers broke in, they would be trapped and killed between the two walls. For additional protection, these castles were often surrounded by a moat where as a drawbridge was used for entering inside the castle. The Beaumaris Castle can be found in Wales. King Edward I first assigned most of the concentric castles. Concentric castles soon became redundant, as they were very expensive to build and required a lot of man power as well as labor resources. Siege warfare was mainly applied when trying to take over the concentric castles. The castles would be destroyed due to the bombardment from the ballista, the mangonel and the trebuchet. Also the wide spread use of gunpowder ended the castles in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. World War I When The Treaty Of Versailles After the conclusion of World War I when the Treaty of Versailles was signed, the seeds were planted that led to the beginning of World War II. The immediate cause for the beginning of the second war was popularly considered to be the German army s invasion of Poland. As the leader of the Nazi party, one of Hitler s key goals was to be the domination of Europe, which he aimed to take by force. France and Britain had warned Germany in 1939 that invading Poland would lead to a declaration of war, so when Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939, war broke out in Europe. This resulted in a violent war that lasted for several years and resulted in the loss of several soldier as well as civilian lives. The Second World War was a devastating war ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The intention when the plan was introduced was that all countries would join the League and thus all international disputes would be settled by negotiation as opposed to being settled by war (Breuer, 286). If this plan were to fail then the other nations would have to stop trading with the country breaking the agreement and if that failed, the other countries would be forced to then use their armies to fight. The diplomatic philosophy behind the League of Nations represented a shift in thought from the preceding century, where an agreement such as this one would be unlikely to be agreed upon. The older philosophy, coming from the Congress of Vienna, had led to the continent of Europe being a shifting map of alliances among several nation states, creating a balance of power that was maintained by aligned armies and secret treaties. Under this newly introduced philosophy, the League was to be a government of governments, with the established role of settling disputes between individual nations. Although the idea for the founding of the League came from U.S. President Wilson, the United States never joined (Breuer, 288). This lessened the power and credibility of the League, although the addition of an industrial and military world power would have added more, later necessary, force behind the League s demands and requests. I immediately noticed John Fryer had a more subjective way to selling this item. In the description, he mentions where he purchased the record. Memories he had as a kid listening to SU radio station during the early 80 s and the emotion it provoked. On the other hand, the eBay description was very objective, offering only facts about said album lacking personality, in turn, feeling cold. While using exerts from the Epic, this essay will analyze the text to show the underlying meaning of power and religion in Medieval West Africa In the beginning of the Epic, the griot lays out the story by setting up the unforeseen future. The griot states, God has his mysteries which none can fathom. You, perhaps, will be a king. You can do nothing about it. You, on the other hand, will be unlucky, but you can do nothing about that either. Each man finds his way already marked out for him and he can change nothing of it. The griot, as a repository for history and hence a spokesman for the largeness of Time, often reminds his listener of how small mankind can be in the face of such greatness. The tone here is a bit harsh as the griot points to his audience and tells them they know nothing of what is meant for them. But this is the griot s purpose: to remind us that we are subservient to greater forces than any man could hope to understand or master. No matter what anyone tried to do to hinder Sundiata s greatness, they could not stop it. They just enabled what they did not want to happen. This is what the griot is trying to tell them. This is the only logical way to minimize the possibility of accidents or loss of firearms. Buying a safe however, is not always a straightforward process. You need to first familiarize with a couple of recommendations, regulations and marketing techniques in order to make an informed choice. Let us briefly take a look at what to look for in a gun safe as detailed under the following 7 questions. 1.What is the right gun safe capacity to go for? Something you may not be aware of is that gun safe manufacturers have a habit of bragging about the large number of guns they can squeeze into their safes. Unfortunately, what may be advertised as high capacity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is why safes made of concrete amalgamates and steel are ranked as the most reliable. But at the same time, some RSC gun safes are light yet still categorized as reliable. Are they really safe? Well, yes because modern technology has enabled manufacturers to maximize on available resource to build lighter yet effective units. The best way to determine if a safe is worth its weight is by comparing its height weight ratio. For instance a 60 inch tall gun safe (RSC) can weigh anywhere between 500 and 800 lbs. Anything below 300 lbs would be questionable. 5.What Quality Of Steel Is Used? Steel is usually the most valuable component of a safe as it provides resilient burglary protection and withstands damage remarkably. However, there are some cases where manufacturers produce substandard steel and use it to make commercial gun safes. Some use misleading tactics such as thick robust doors but what they don t tell you is that only a thin part of this door is actually made of steel. Others even boast of providing 2 inch of steel thick walls only to use a 14 gauge piece of steel combined with layers of drywall. The recommended minimum guidelines of steel usage are as follows. *Door Outer Sheet Should be at least 7 gauge. Remember, even a thin looking 7 gauge steel is better than a thick looking composite door that s made of 12 gauge steel wrapped around some weak ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their child s too young to know what lies are, or that lying s wrong. When the child gets older and learns that lies are bad, parents believe that lying will stop. A child who is going to lie must recognize the truth, intellectually conceive of an alternate reality, and be able to convincingly sell that new reality to someone else. When children first begin to lying, they lie to avoid punishment, and because of that they lie indiscriminately. Understanding that each letter makes a different sound and connecting this to the letter is known as phonics, which is required for reading and writing. According to Miskin (2016, p. 9) the English language has more than 150 ways to represent the 44 phonemes, which are represented using the 26 letters of the alphabet or graphemes. Australian educators need to implement a successful phonics program, which is engaging by involving different strategies that are suitable to student s level. According to New South Wales (2009, p. 16) phonics must be taught in kindergarten and begins with songs, rhymes, and books. Synthetic and analytic are two different teaching strategies, which are used to teach students phonics. These strategies are very different to one another and are a similar method of the top down bottom up approach. Top down allows students to use prior knowledge by using the phonemes to make a word while the bottom up approach allows students to use what they already know or have seen in prior learning ... People are placed within these categories based on their occupation, income, and wealth. The working class receives the lowest income and fills blue collar jobs in factories and farms, as well as white collar positions like clerical and secretarial jobs in offices. The middle class consists of professionals like teachers, engineers, small business people, and skilled workers. The upper class, often called the elite or ruling class is composed of those who run our major economic and political institutions and receive the highest earnings for doing so. Class as reflected in education, income, and occupation, does influence people s attitudes on a variety of issues. People in the working class tend to be liberal in wanting greater economic equality and more programs dealing with social welfare. This liberalism on economic issues contrasts strongly with their ideas on civil liberties. Members of the middle class tend to be more conservative in their economic views and more liberal on issues such as free speech and respect for civil rights. Therefore, class attitudes on political questions are both liberal and conservative. But the necessity of fright and intense emotions seems to be the sequels of an addiction to passionate emotional responses. Anger, fear, hate, anxiety, and thrill: they are all emotions and feelings that are brought forward by violent media. The lack of fires the previous years had led to a flammable buildup of old trees in the forests. These trees were ready to burn, and they did. Towns close to the park were clouded with smoke and people were told to evacuate as the fire burned out of control. Although this scenario is viewed as a tragedy for wildlife and tourists, there were benefits that came out of it. The event had burned more than 8,500 acres of land and destroyed the forests found in Yellowstone, but there were outcomes of it that made up for the damage. For example, animals like fish, deer, and bears had died during the tragic accident, but it turns out that it was convenient for the animals who had survived. This was seen as an advantage for the other animals because the plants that they had eaten before were burned, so they were able to feast on the remains of the already dead animals. Also, in spite of the plants and trees being burnt due to the fire, they became useful as they were made into new nests for birds like woodpeckers and bluebirds. Whisking By Ehrenreich Summary Ehrenreich discusses how the employers manage to disclose any information of pay to applicants during interviews in this way: I have mentioned the way the hiring process seems designed, in some cases, to prevent any discussion or even disclosure of wage whisking the applicant from interview to orientation before the crass subject of money can be raised. Some employers go further; instead of relying on the informal money taboo to keep workers from discussing and comparing wages, they specifically enjoin workers from doing so. (207) Ehrenreich uses a dash instead of a comma or a colon. Dashes aren t as formal as colons but provide more emphasis than commas. She could have ended the sentence where the dash began but she decided to include the part where applicants are rushed into orientation before the talk of pay comes up. This dash made everything stop short. The author connects these two together to create more emphasis on the crooked hiring process. It shows that she felt it necessary to bring the actual process to surface because it is often hidden. The true intentions of employers had to be exposed to show that many workers go into work blind of their actual pay. It reveals how unfair it is for applicants. Auxin regulates and aids in the development of plants (Kazan 2013). The acid growth hypothesis states that an acidic ph will enhance the effects of auxin in seed development and plant growth. Radish seeds were planted in acidic soil and administered natural and synthetic auxin in order to test for the effect of synthetic auxin in an acidic soil on plant growth. The reason for this experiment is to test whether or not synthetic (man made) auxin works better than natural auxin in growth development. It was found that the natural kind of auxin works better in an acidic environment than synthetic auxin. Introduction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the process of pollination and the development of the embryo stops, a seed is formed. The seed will remain dormant until it comes in contact with water which causes gibberellins (a type of plant hormone) to be released which will trigger the layer covering the embryo to produce enzymes needed to break down the endosperm and release the nutrients that are stored there. Those nutrients will be used by the embryo for growth. Hormones are chemical substances that help and regulate plant growth and aid in seed germination (Gutzler and Brewer 2013). There are seven different types of plant hormones and they all trigger specific reactions. One of the first hormones discovered in plants was Auxin. Auxin is known to aid in stem elongation and shape direction of growth (Gutzler and Brewer 2013). There are many different kinds of auxin. Indoleacetic acid (IAA) and Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) are two of the most common types, both will be used in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Truth And Fiction In The Thin Blue Line Discuss the relationship between truth and fiction in The Thin Blue Line. This should include reference to Bill Nichols reflexivity mode in documentary filmmaking. In this essay I will discuss the relationship between truth and fiction in the documentary The Thin Blue Line by Errol Morris, released in 1988, and how the reflexive mode is used to convey his message. I am going to look at how Morris challenges the viewer s perception of justice and truth. Reflexivity mode is one of six documentary modes created by Bill Nichols to distinguish particular characteristics of different styles of documentary. It uses particular details and footage that will lead the viewer to specific assumptions and expectations causing them to come to the conclusion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adams is introduced to the audience in short cut parallel interviews with David Harris, both of them describing the run up to the murder. Morris uses unrealistic noir style re enactments of the events running up to and the murder of Officer Woods. Never once in this first re enactment does Morris show who committed the crime as he uses lots of extreme close up shots of the key elements of the story such as the gun being fired and Woods boots walking along beside the car before he was shot. The re enactment is then followed by a series of pictures of woods and parts of a newspaper article, only after this do we find out Adams was arrested for this crime but never once does Morris claim Adams is guilty. While Adams is introduced to the court as a suspected blood thirsty cop killer Morris waits till six minutes into the film to say he was arrested, this doesn t allow the audience of the film to see him in that way and give him more of a chance. Morris knew that it would be very important for the end viewpoint of the film for the audience, how he portrayed Adams from the beginning of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Analysis Of Anna Deavere Smith s Fires In The Mirror My sense is that American character lives not in one place or the other, but in the gaps between the places, and in our struggle to be together in our differences, (Anna Deavere Smith). Anna Deavere Smith in her play, Fires in the Mirror, takes two different cultural communities and interviews their standpoint of the conflict at hand. The underlying racism present in this community is soon brewed into a pandemonium once the death of both a Black and Jewish individual take place. Fires in the Mirror is a social drama that presents a breach as several Jewish males accidentally kill a young Black boy in a car accident. Due to this incident, it causes a crisis within the community as a Jewish man is later murdered by Black males to pursue revenge for the cause of this breach. With a social drama following the guideline to find a redressive action to limit the spread of the breach, Smith in her interviews portrays that this community fails to do so. Because of this, the reintegration becomes an irreparable breach between the two. Consequently, due to the social clash between the Black and Jewish communities, the city of Crown Heights becomes socially segregated. Individuals interviewed in this play are heavily indulged in looking at what segregates them from one another that it leads to individuals pointing fault or playing victim, which inevitably will never lead to a resolution to this social crisis. Individuals that have been interviewed have focused their energy on what segregates themselves from one another that it restrains them from foreseeing a solution to the social crisis among their community. A major conflict brought up throughout multiple interviews was the scene where the accident happened. Multiple interviews have their own perspective of the situation as well as their opinion about the different ambulances that arrives in the scene.Rabbi Joseph Speilman in No Blood in His Feet explains, The Jewish community has a volunteer ambulance corps which is funded totally from the nations...The EMS responded with three ambulances on the scene. They were there before the Jewish ambulance came (69). This explain shows how in a city where the citizens are under one government, when a tragic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To demonstrate social injustice, we used medals for the Latin American Revolution, Chains for the American Revolution, and a tennis ball for the French Revolution. To represent economic inequality, we used tea bags for the American revolution, bread for the French revolution and money for the Latin American Revolution. For the American Revolution, The chains represented the role African American slaves played in the revolution. The revolution motivated African American resistance against slavery. The tea bags were symbolic to the Boston Tea Party when Massachusetts colonist protested against the Tea Act of 1773 or more specifically Taxation without Representation by dumping chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. ... • 42. Target Market of Holden Monaro Essay examples The Holden Monaro is a coupe sports car in the line of HSV, or Holden Sports Vehicles, made by its namesake Australian company. The car comes in a couple different specifications, but the engine is always either a V6 or a V8, making it a powerful and fast vehicle. The original Monaro was created in 1968 with different species of car throughout the next three years. The second generation of Holden Monaros was begun in 1971, which changed the body design of the car completely as well as made the V6 engine no longer an option. The 1970 s Monaro was definitely a muscle car, though over the years until 1977 the vehicle became more of a luxury sedan instead of the hard muscle it had begun with. The Monaro was finally reborn in the 2000 s and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The distinct identity that this vehicle has in the marketplace is that it is a phoenix of cars, reborn out of the old model of the Holden Monaro and made into a new, slick version. Holden would position this in the market by saying that it is the most powerful mainstream Holden to be brought out, drawing people who desire that kind of brawn and intensity in a car. The focus of appeal for the vehicle was how the Monaro made a possible consumer feel. The older men would feel nostalgia by thinking of the old Monaro, even though the style of body would be different, the emotional attachment to the name of Monaro would be the same. The younger generation might look at the vehicle and feel drawn to its subtle curves and sporty body design, featuring the double scoop on the hood of the car. The focus of appeal might be imagining yourself behind the wheel of the Monaro and feeling the power of the engine and the bucket racing seats, knowing that the car you are driving is both luxurious and nimble. Something about just looking at the car or watching an advertisement on the television would stir an emotion in the target market, and make them likely to go for a test drive and ultimately (hopefully) purchase the car. In my personal opinion, the Holden Monaro does not hold a spectacularly distinct product position from the other Holden Sports Vehicles in that line of cars. • 44. The Pros And Disadvantages Of Modern Test Taking Will Powers Dr. Lenore English 100 26 October, 2017 Modern Test Taking There have been many studies done to figure out which of the many testing styles allow students to both retain more information and help elevate some of the pre exam stress, while at the same time not putting too much work on the professor. Out of all the styles that have been tested, two of the most common styles that constantly rival each other are the open book test vs. the closed book tests. Many teachers still cling to the traditional closed books test. A closed book test is a test where students are expected to study their note before a test is given and try their very best to memorize everything that they can fit into their heads in order to successfully pass the test, then go into the exam with nothing but the pencil in their hand and the test on their desk. An open book test, is a test that allows students to bring either their notes or something that can be written on such as a sheet of paper or a note card that was given to the student before the exam. Both of these exam types have a wide range of both advantages and disadvantages. One of the most common disadvantages that is often mentioned for closed book exams is the fact that as far as the real world is concerned, closed book test are unrealistic. For many subjects the idea of doing a task with nothing but the sole information in someone s head would be seen as not only absurd but actually careless. An example of this absurdity and ... The visit from the Inspector reveals that all the characters had played a part in the suicide of a girl called Eva Smith. In some ways, all the characters are responsible for the death of Eva Smith, each one of them did something that affected her in some way or another. Overall I feel that some characters were more responsible than others for many different reasons. In the book we see several different reactions from the characters when they find out that they are caught up in the suicide, some were upset and distressed and others just tried to pass the blame to others and tried to excuse what they had done.
