Persuasive Barn Business Plan
The floor plan for the barn is fully based on safety. The purpose for having only one open
hallways is to allow clear sight all the way through. For example, if a child is on the opposite
side of the barn, it doesn t matter where an adult is standing, because they will be able to see that
the child is safe. The barn will hold 10 to 12 horses. A child is about 1/3 of that height. For this
reason it wouldn t be safe to have several curves and turns that can block the view of a child with
a horse. The barn is divided into two areas. The first being the area for the volunteers and the
children or guests. This area includes the office, restrooms, storage, tack room, seating, and
lockers. The second area is made up of only stables and grooming rooms. The reason for the
separation is because the areas for the horses will be expected to be a bit messy and it wouldn t be
enjoyable to have an office or group seating right next to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hall and sides are 12 feet wide. This allows sufficient space for a horse and a holder to walk
comfortably through the hall. The 12 feet wide areas create a 12 by 12 stall that allows the
horse to turn a full circle and lay down if needed. The walls surrounding the stall will be half
covered with bars, allowing visibility for the kids. It will also create a more open space, rather
than a jail cell style. The stalls will also have 2 exits for the horse. The main one being on the
inside that will be a full opening. The door inside allows the trainer to direct the horse from their
stall to the tacking room without having to go through the outside. The second door will be on the
exterior. This will be a Dutch door. On the days with good weather, the trainers can open the top
half of the Dutch door, not only letting the breeze enter but also allowing the horse to place its head
through the opening. This gives the kids a chance to see and interact with the horses as they walk
through the outside of the

What were Columbus s beliefs about the native people of the islands and how did this affect his
treatment of them? Columbus viewed the culture of the native people of the islands as inferior to
his own which resulted in a belief that he and his men have the right to harm and treat them

enslaving some of the Indians, Columbus showed that he believed that he had the right to enslave

Modernism In The Great Gatsby
Modernism and Realism reflected in Fitzgerald and Chopin
American Realism and Modernism are reflected in the authors and works we read through the
characters actions and the overall tones of each work. Both Chopin and Fitzgerald are celebrated
authors, known for their groundbreaking works during their lifetime.
Realism is a literary period where authors focused on making their stories and characters more
realistic and organic, reflecting on real life experiences, while Modernism is a literary period
where many authors reflected the disillusionment from the First World War in their works through
the creation of a new modern hero and the build a self theme. After World War I (also known as the
Great War), the nation no longer believed in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A well known work of Chopin s, A Pair of Silk Stockings , is short, sweet, and touches on many
ideas of Realism in its passages. The main character is Mrs. Sommers, a poor widow and

the lavish life she once lived, [the money] gave her a feeling of importance such as she had not
enjoyed for years . She longs for the freedom and carelessness of her younger years, before she
had to be smart with every cent for the well being of her children and herself, but through her

who would not carelessly throw money around to a woman who just wants to be free from the

How Does Sir Philip Sidney Use Astrophel And Stella
Sir Philip Sidney was one of the most known English poets in the Elizabethan era of time.
Astrophel and Stella is said to have most likely been composed in the 1580s. It is considered an
English sonnet sequence that overall contains 108 sonnets and 11 songs in total. The name
Astrophel comes from Greek origin translating to star lover, ad Stella is originated from Latin
which means star as well. In other words Astrophel is the star lover, and Stella is his star. Some
people even say Sidney wrote this about his own personal love life first about Lady Penelope
Devereux, and later on Lady Rich. In Sonnet87 Sidney express his love for Stella. He goes on to
say, Stella! food of my thoughts, heart of my heart , in other words he is saying she

An Evolution Of User Participation
An Evolution of User Participation Roles in Software Development
We discuss in a little more detail the Struggle for Existence.
― Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species
Although information systems research has long recognized the crucial role of user participation in
developing better software, researchers have overlooked temporal dimension and dynamism
associated with participation. This study contributes a new scholarly conversation on the
longitudinal processes around how users influence software development in dynamic ways and how
software organizations enable them to do so. Using a multi year qualitative inquiry, we develop an
evolutionary approach that theorizes user participation roles at different stages of development with
three concepts of inheritance , modification , and survival . The evolutionary approach unpacks
how user participation roles are rooted deeply in the repetitive experience and the co evolution of
developers and users over time. The results suggest software organizations should devote attention
to the changing roles of user participation at different stages of development and design appropriate
processes to support these roles. We discuss the important implications of evolutionary approach for
theories of participation and engagement and for software organizations attempting to operate in
the uncertain and rapidly changing context of software development.

Evaluation Of A Teacher Student Relationship
Linda Albert (2012) mentions for students to experience a strong sense of belonging in school, they
must satisfy Cooperative Discipline s Three Cs . The Three Cs are Capable, Connect, and
Contribute. Three factors affect students ability to satisfy the Three Cs in the classroom: the quality
of the teacher student relationship; the strength of the classroom climate for success; and the
appropriateness of the classroom structure (Albert, 2012). The best way to satisfy the Three Cs
through the use of encouragement strategies. If we are positive and encouraging, people do better
when they feel better, and that which people perceive affects the way they feel. For example, if
you receive a compliment, then a positive feelingemerges (Marshall, 2005). The first C is helping
students feel Capable. When students feel good about themselves they have fulfilled the feeling of
capable. As teachers, Linda Albert mentioned different encouragement techniques to help students
reach their full potential. Linda made her techniques into five major strategies: make mistakes
okay, build confidence, focus on past successes, make learning tangible, and recognize
achievement. I make sure I implement her strategies into my classroom. For instance, I show
students that I make mistakes all the time and it is okay if they do to. Also I tell the students if
they mistake in the lab, that it s okay, that s why I am here to help you . To build confidence, I
make sure I focus on their improvements

Multitask Research Paper
Findings regarding multitasking seems to be a lot of talk in Psychology. Theme four says that
humans are responsible limited agents and we have agency, meaning the ability to act as agents in
the world. This involves the ability to chose, but it is limited. This relates to multitasking.
Multitasking is the practice of doing multiple things at the same time (SGWN pg 135). Theme four
can relate to multitaskingbecause having agency implies not only we make choices but also that we
can change ourselves in some way. Theme four is relating to multitasking and saying that we have
the choice to multitask and do multiple things at one time even though there are limitations on how
much we are able to change since we exist in a particular time and place.... Show more content on

This involves the ability to chose, but it is limited. I agree with that when it comes to
multitasking because you can chose what two tasks you re going to try to accomplish at once.
For example, if you chose to text and drive acting as agents in this world, that is your choice but
it is limited because you are limited to paying full attention to the road if you text and drive. For
example, as mentioned in SGWN with texting and driving, the drivers trying to multitask like
this become so engaged in their conversations that their minds no longer seemed to be in the car
(SGWN pg 135). This is a good example for the limited agency of theme four because the texting
and driving limits the driver from paying attention to what they need to. Likewise, I agree with
theme five as well. Theme five states that we are meaning seekers and we always make sense of
things. Also, we seek meaning through experience. I agree with this relating to multitasking
because people seek meaning through experience. With the example of the texting and driving,
someone could seek the meaning through the experience of texting and driving. As mentioned in
SGWN, legislature is trying to ban using mobile devices while driving (SGWN pg 135) and this is
all because of experiences and personal experience is a part of theme

Ethical Dilemmas In Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth installment in the Harry Potter series. In this
book J.K. Rowling presents two vastly different characters who have ethical viewpoints that are on
either side of the consequentialist spectrum.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix details the events that occur during Harry s fifth year at
Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This year was bound to be the most difficult yet
because not only does Harry have to worry about Lord Voldemort returning but he also has trouble
convincing other of the impending doom that accompanies Voldemort s arrival. Harry, two friends
Ron and Hermione, along with the Hogwarts Headmaster Professor Albus Dumbledore have spent
the better part of Harry s first four years at Hogwarts not only trying to subdue Voldemort, but also
trying to convince others of what they might soon have to face. Despite the obvious signs of
Voldemort s return, him trying to steal the sorcerer s/philosopher s stone, the opening of the
chamber of secrets, and most recently the death of fellow schoolmate Cedric Diggory the Ministry
of Magic, basically the government of the wizarding world, dismissed them all and gave
ridiculous excuses. This is because Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, is convinced that
Harry and Dumbledore are lying because he believes that Dumbledore is after his job. Because of
Fudge s suspicion the Ministry decides to appoint one of their own as the new Defense Against the

National Churchill Museum Analysis
The National Churchill Museum is located in Fulton, Missouri at Westminster College where
Winston Churchill held his Iron Curtain speech in the gym of the college. It was very interesting
to learn that because of the gym s historical significance, it has not been remodeled or touched
structurally so that it would preserve the history of the place of the speech. Westminster holds a
beauty in itself, but the history of the college opens up a whole new meaning and feeling when
visiting. Not only does the college offer the exciting experience to learn about Winston Churchill
and his Iron Curtain Speech, but it also entails a part of the Berlin Wall and the Church of St. Mary
which has significance among its own walls. The museum and the college visit was an
unforgettable experience and a chance to truly relive history in modern day.... Show more content on

The Control Of Power In The Pyramids
Power has been a constant source throughout the centuries. It was seen by the Egyptians who
forced slaves to create the pyramids. The Greeks who believed Gods controlled their everyday
life, and constantly feared their own fate. Monarchies that conquered different nations to claim
more territory. There is always a reason behind the control of power, but only the ones who hold
the power can see it. Recently the power has shifted from obvious control of people to surveillance
and manipulation. Power can be changed when all of the information is seen. This movie shows
many scenarios that makes it an allegory to the power that is held in the modern world. This
involves manipulation, technology, enclosure and creating an option of choice. The characters get
to choose the way they die from six different options. None of them are better than the other, but
this is the choice they have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only time that the highest order is seen is in the end of the film when the power has been
disrupted. Now the experiment has gone awry, and the Gods are going to come and take over
the rest of the world. The power is now in the hands of the person who was part of the
experiment. The one person who is able to survive while still having a sacrifice. She is now able
to choose her fate. Or at least that is what the lady tells her. She manipulates Dana into deciding to
kill her friend in order to save the world. She sees the reason behind the actions, and automatically
agrees with the conversation. It is not until she is attacked by the werewolf that she recognizes it
was not her choice, but instead manipulated through the conversation. This appears to be the only

the reasons behind the action to the person who can survive. Upper management predicted

Advice For First Writing Course At The University Of...
Advice to First Writing Course at the University of Central Florida
Writing courses can be challenging and that is why I decided to write this personal narrative. I
believe that a personal narrative is better for an advice column than a research paper. A personal
narrative would give more personal experience and insight on how the course was. It would be
more valid since it is true. I think people learn better when they read and hear something from the
person they are talking to rather than being about other people, especially when it comes to advice.
English courses, just like any core class, expects a lot from the students. ENC 1101 is the first

They can properly quote it or paraphrase it using MLA format. This will demonstrate the student
using strategies to better comprehend difficult texts. Students should also learn to adapt to different
writing contexts. Throughout this course, I had to learn new vocabulary such as rhetorical
situation and discourse community. These are actually types of essays I had to write during this
course. When writing these types of essays, one has to keep in mind their audiences and their own
experience. Lastly, students will consider how social, rhetorical, and technological contexts shape
writing because it reflects sensitivity to school writing as a social affair (McCarthy 231).
There are some constraints that I had to think about when deciding the genre of this paper. One
constraint to this personal narrative is the time I took this course. I took ENC 1101 during the
Summer B section. Summer B was only six weeks long and I had to learn the concepts of this
course in that amount of time when it usually takes around sixteen weeks. This made the course
much harder for me and other students. Especially because English is my second language, it
takes me longer to read and analyze articles. This was also one out of two of my first classes as a
college students. It is a different environment and I had to adapt to different situations and
expectations. Another constraint is about those students that already have credit for ENC

My First Twenty Years Of One s Life
The first twenty years of one s life not only holds the most dramatic physical changes, but also
extensive changes in the social/emotional and the cognitive stages. Throughout my first twenty
years, I have reached the majority of my physical attributes for adulthood. I have gone from a
babbling infant to a well educated undergraduate student at a pristine univeristy. I have
overcome evolving life circumstances, and I have, in other words, grew up. I plan to use my
life experiences along with Laura E. Berk s psychological research to explain how I have learned
to grow and adapt physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. As history progresses, the
evolution of physical changes to the human body seems to move right along with it. According
to Berk s studies, the secular trends in physical growth over the past 150 years have led to taller
and heavier children in industrialized nations (p 413). Personally, my growth was lower than
these new trends. I was average height, but I have stayed below weight even as I am maturing.
In the prior family generations before me, many males experienced their growth spurt up into the
twenties, so there is the slim chance that the usual teenage spurts didn t hit me because they tend
to fall late in my gene pool. However, I was pretty normal among the physical stages of growth as
a toddler. I was standing alone and walking alone at eleven months (p 184). Even though this is
the average age for most growing children, I was always a

In fact a more recent study done with mice found a 40% increase in brain cells after the use of
cannabis.
At this point I hope you re starting to see that cannabis isn t nearly half as bad as everybody
makes it out to be. Just to further add to this it is impossible to overdose on cannabis. This is
because the cannabis is 100% natural. The only possible way to over dose is if you consume close
to Вѕ of a ton (700kg) in less than 15 minutes which is physically impossible. It is kind of ironic
that there is a much higher chance of you dying from water than cannabis.
A lot of people see cannabis as a gateway drug. As I work with drug affected people on a daily
basis many people say that the first drug they ever used was cannabis, which by its self is
harmless and non addictive. However after a while of using cannabis by itself, people look for
ways to get more of a high and start to use laced cannabis. Laced cannabis is marijuana with
another drug mixed in which is commonly ice or cocaine. After the experience with laced cannabis
users may become addicted to the other drug which is incorporated with it. This is the point where
user can experiment with more serious drugs such as ice, cocaine, ecstasy and LSD. This is where
people get the assumption that cannabis is addictive and dangerous.

My Group Presentation Was Over Myasthenia Gravis
My group presentation was over myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular
auto immune disease that is characterized by fatigable weakness in the skeletal muscles. This
occurs at the neuromuscular junction, in which acetylcholine that is being released by the pre
synaptic neuron attaches to receptors at the post synaptic neuron in order to generate a muscle
contraction. Basically the body produces antibodies that block, alter, or destroy these receptors thus
halting motor neurons from signaling the muscles to contract. It is currently unknown why the
body makes these antibodies. There are a multitude of ways of treating MG these include
anticholinesterase, steroid, and immunosuppressant medicines. In my paper, I will focus on the
most long term solution of thymectomy by first giving an overview of characteristics of the surgery,
then contrasting open thymectomy (trans sternal and trans cervical) and video assisted thoracic
surgery (VATS), and finally focusing on the overall effectiveness of the surgery. First we must
define the term thymectomy, why it is needed, who should receive it, and the goals of the surgery.
A thymectomy in layman s terms is the surgical removal of the thymusgland. The thymus plays a
major role in immune defense for the human body. As already stated MG is an autoimmune disease
in which the body makes antibodies that disrupts the function of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
The thymus gland has been found as the main source of

The Importance Of Systematic Synthetic Phonics For School...
I learnt to read at an early age. I read widely whilst at school, both school reading schemes and then
from the school s library of classic books, as well as books at home and borrowed from public
libraries. This love of books continues today, I studied English Literature and Music at university
and I still read for pleasure whenever possible.
I loved reading to my own children from birth and chose from a wide range of children s literature.
This was encouraged in their early years at school where they were given a decodable book and a
story book each week. I find the fact that some schools are removing real texts from classrooms
and restricting early readers to decodable books risks creating a generation of children who fail to
associate reading with pleasure.
Schools today are obliged to use systematic synthetic phonics from early years but during my
school experiences I have seen other phonics systems in use and I have found that, for some
children, these methods have been just as effective as synthetic phonics.
The Rose Report of 2006 was based primarily on Gough and Tumner s 1986 Simple View of
Reading in which they stated that language comprehension and word recognition were vital
components for reading. In his report, Rose suggests that the phonics referred to is Systematic
Synthetic Phonics.
The combination of these two ideas is a contradiction, it was found that, although a child s reading

In the eighteenth century, Gothic story was an extremely popular form of literature, and it has been

Both Gilman and Faulkner follow the conventions of the Gothic horror story to create feelings of

as the narrator of The Yellow Wallpaper describes the house and feels its ground has fallen into a
slight state of disrepair. There were greenhouses, too, but they are all broken now. There was
some legal trouble, I believe, something about the heirs and co heirs; anyhow, the place has been
empty for years. The spoils my ghostliness, I am afraid, but I don t care #65293;there is something
strange about the house #65293;I can feel it (Gilman 76). The narrator also complains about the
room that she lives in, especially the yellow wallpaper. She mentions about the wallpaper several
times, saying that when you follow the lame uncertain curves for a little distance they suddenly
commit suicide #65293;plunge off at outrageous angels, destroy themselves in unheard of
contradictions (Gilman 77). Gilman creates the setting that is superficially tranquility but actually a
place of confinement. In The rose for Emily, Faulkner uses a big, giant house to have the Grierson
family isolated from other town people. A Rose for Emily is set in Faulkner s mythical country,
Yoknapatawpha, Mississippi. The narrator describes the house

Equality And The Democratic Republic
Equality and the overall social and economic condition of any country derives from leadership.
There is no such existence as a perfect government; however, institutions such as a democracy or
the republic, as we see in the United States, have come rather close. Our democratic republic has
established a system in which leaders and officials are chosen, directly or indirectly, by the people.
In order to succeed in gaining such a position of power, the ideology a leadership candidate
transmits must be appealing to undoubtedly, many of the general public. With that being said,

A Synopsis of Accounting for Business Combinations
A SYNOPSIS OF ACCOUNTING FOR BUSINESS COMBINATIONS,
INTANGIBLES AND GOODWILL IMPAIRMENT
INTRODUCTION
During the 1980 s and 1990 s a great number of business mergers and acquisitions took place. The
generally accepted accounting principles to record the initial transaction and to account for the
acquired assets during their estimated useful lives this were well established.
Over time however, users of financial statements began to question whether those principles and
practices accurately reflected the market realities regarding the assets, their useful lives and their
contribution to a company s value. In addition, intangible assets have become increasingly more
important as an economic resource.
It was apparent that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SFAS 141 is based on the proposition that all business combinations are essentially acquisitions, and
thus all business combinations should be accounted for in a consistent manner with other asset
acquisitions.
FAS 141 begins with the declaration that the accounting for a business combination follows the
concepts normally applicable to the initial recognition and measurement of assets acquired,
liabilities assumed or incurred...as well as to the subsequent accounting for those items.
A business combination occurs when an entity acquires net assets that constitute a business or
acquires equity interest of one or more other entities and obtains control over that entity or entities.
In a combination effected through an exchange of cash or other assets it is easy to identify the
acquiring entity and the acquired entity. In a combination effected through an exchange of equity
interests, the entity issuing the equity interest is generally the acquiring entity. However, in some
business combinations, known as reverse acquisitions, it is the acquired entity that issues the equity
interests. (Paragraphs 15 19 offer guidance in this complex area.)

Calveta Dining Services, Inc. was a $2 billion, privately held firm that provided food services to

Calveta Dining retired in 2007 after 35 years of leadership and he named his eldest son Frank as

dilemma that Frank was facing was that even after 2 years into this job of his he did not have

they could prosper in any segment.
Interpretation
The interpretation that can be derived from the above analysis is that it would be better for Frank
to think about diversifying the business rather than acquiring GSD. Even Frank knew that it was a
huge risk to acquire GSD considering the heavy debt the business would be in after the acquisition,
besides Calveta Dining would find it difficult to train GSD employees to the work culture of
Calveta Dining. Frank should not make this decision only with the purpose of meeting his father s
goal because this may harm the firm in the long run. Frank had his own problems organizational
restructuring to do for Calveta Dining and in such a circumstance if Frank acquired GSD then his
problem woul grow from bad to worse because it would not be an easy task to change the entire
work culture of GSD within a short span of time, and apart from the debts of acquiring GSD Frank
would also need to generate funds for the training of the staff teaching them Antonio s way. The

When I was a child, reading meant a magical story that I believed would come true when I grew

Critical Consequences Of Cyberbullying
Society is Due for an Update Today, society has access to multitudes of information thanks to the
internet. With this freedom, we disguise ourselves in online personas, and prey on internet
visitors. The internet is far more dangerous territory than it may appear. Society suffers from the
pain technology brings through cyberbullying, defamation, and even the threat of your very life.
What exactly is cyberbullying? Cyberbullying is the act of harassing someone online, usually
anonymously, that takes place over digital devices, examples being social media, or via text or
instant message. Not all cyberbullying is intended, however. Sue Scheff, a writer for the
Huffington Post, wrote this when asked how she would define accidental cyberbullying,
Oftentimes, kids described trying to be nice or positive to one friend or cause via various social
networking sites, and unintentionally hurting someone s feelings, or leaving someone out in the
process ( Accidental Bullying and Cyberbullying 2013). I see examples every day of people typing
one thing and meaning another. Cyberbullying, though sometimes accidental, can have critical
consequences. 20% of cyberbullied kids consider suicide, and 1 in 10 attempt it ( Cyberbullying
Rampant on the Internet). Online defamation can damage and even destroy lives and reputations.

The Jegagog is the lowest pitched of the gangsa, the gangsa family consists of instruments which
have brass or bronze keys suspended over a resonating bamboo tube. The Balinese gangsa differs
from the Javanese because the keys make a louder sound and are designed to be struck with
different hammers. This instrument also requires long resonating bamboo tubes so is played
while sitting on a chair or bench. It has five keys (1, 2, 3, 5, and 6). This pattern is commonly
found in both Java and Bali. It plays at submultiples of the pokok and is played particularly at
important structural points as do the gongs.
The Jublag is the next higher pitched of the gangsa, this instrument also requires long resonating
bamboo tubes so is often played while sitting on a chair or bench. The Balinese version has 5
keys (1, 2, 3, 5, and 6) seven key Jublag are also commonly found in Bali. It usually plays at
submultiples of the pokok; the keys are struck more frequently than the jegogan and usually less
frequently than the Ugal. It is one octave above the jegogan and shares tones with the Ugal.
Another name for the Jublag is Calung.
The Kantil shares its lower octave with the Pemade. They are above the Ugal which plays the
melody. There are usually 10 keys (2, 3, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and i) so the instrument spans two
octaves.

Impact Of Television On The Western Europe
The Impact of Television on Democracy in Eastern Europe
After the second World War , a large part of central Europe was controlled by the Soviet Union and
was forced to adapt to the Communism ideology. While the year 1989 was a turning point that
some effective revolution interrupted and the Soviet hegemony was destroyed, the demand for
democracy and freedom was increased and people tried to find their ways to speak out. With the
development of technology, mass media emerged to help address the problem. Among the mass
media, radios, newspapers, and televisions were extremely prominent because of their high speed

In Romania, many independent television stations appeared during the collapse of Ceausescu s
power. Under the control of the Communist Party, any information that was adverse to their
regime was forbidden. However, this was soon followed by the second stage of growing
disillusionment as political divisions made themselves manifest and the new system developed its
own ways of imposing its control on the media , often simply by reintroducing some of the old
methods (Jakubowicz 293). The television was used as a transmission platform for people who
gained the freedom of words to express their thoughts. Televisions were involved in politics in the
Post Communist Czech Republic. Before, and during the Communism era, television stations were
strictly controlled by the government. It was impossible for those people who were considered to
dissent and fight against the Communism ideology to show up in the public media. However, in

The Problem Posing By Paulo Freire
Classroom experiences are like polyatomic ions: some are positive while others are negative.
While the majority of the experiences at the West Genesee School District have been positive, I

the problem posing classroom that Paulo Freiredescribes in his piece The Banking Concept of
Education. In his works, Paulo Freire asserts that the problem posing education makes them [the
students] critical thinkers (Freire 221). As Freire describes, a class that implements the problem
posing policy is one in which students are to become critical thinkers. Freire would have been
ecstatic that other educators carried out his ideas in their own problem posing classroom. My
teacher me made it unequivocal that this class was going to challenge the way we analyzed and
understood history. The teacher continued to describe the role of the student in the classroom; the
educator expected the pupil to analyze readings and argue about what the pupil deemed to be the
most important concepts presented. Regardless of the content, Egyptian hieroglyphics or Genghis

relationships between the causes, effects, and relevance of various topics throughout the course. In

entertainment industry during the 1920 s. He was born on April 16, 1889, in London, England.
Both of his parents were both in the entertainment industry, which would reflect how he became
apart of the entertainment industry, too. When he was 12, he would play the role as a paperboy

grab the attention of Americans through his sketch named, A Night in an English Music Hall.
When the Fred Karno troupe left and came back to America in the fall of 1912 for a repeat tour,

A Clear Midnight By Walt Whitman
The poem A Clear Midnight by Walt Whitman is only one quatrain, yet the poem enacts a threshold
experience. The time of midnight is the transition from one day to the next. Whitman uses this
moment as a metaphor from corporal existence to spiritual existence. Whitman describes this
transition to be clear as nothing is hidden nor feared. Whitman is trying to correspond the inner and
outer world, the physical and spiritual worlds. To achieve this harmony, Whitman seems to address
his soul; the soul being the idea that connects the physical and spiritual world. One may believe that
Whitman wants the poem to be trigger to his soul dwelling in eternity. A Clear Midnight is

the book The Chrysalids they show a wide variety of different types of discrimination.
Discrimination comes in different ways from verbally to physically. The theme of discrimination
against mutants shows throughout the Book and Movie as Humans Vs Mutants. If you take a
glance at The Chrysalids book and then take a glance at The X Men movie they seem that they
don t have anything a like, but if you look in deeper into the story they have a lot of similarities.
Both the X Men Last Stand directed by Brett Ratner and the book The Chrysalids written by John
Wyndham Have many similarities. The characters, Themes, and actions the society takes upon...

David strorm and Professor X has a Different view of mutants then other people they look at
mutants as Normal people. Therefore the characters from both X Men Last Stand and The
Chrysalids both have similarities. The X Men and The Chrysalids show a relating theme of
isolation and change. In the movie X Men the people in the city are isolating the mutants because
everyone wants mutants gone and they do not want mutants in their life. The mutants live a
separate life than the normal people in the city mutants hang out with mutants and humans
hangout with humans, the mutants have their own school and the humans also have their own
school two separate breeds living in one city. The telepathic people are isolated because of their
special ability. The waknukians see the telepaths special abilities as a danger and a threat to the
humans in Waknuk. When the people in Waknuk find out about them having telepathic ability or
being a mutant they have to flee the country. When Sophie s mom said We would have to go if

Welcome Fellow Traveller
Welcome fellow traveller, I understand you have journeyed far to be here. It is a pleasure to
make your acquaintance. I am known to many as Octavian. You may be tired after your long
journey, please come in for some tea. Make yourself at home. In fact you are home! This is a
simulated structure at the centre of your being. Made from good old fashioned imagination! It is
your creation and what a fine job I must say. This crystal castle is one quordinate point within
your infinite nature just as you are one point of view within infinite space. A certain angle of the
whole, if you will. Because your innate essence is formless you have created this castle within
your being for us to have a reference point in which we can discuss and experience a few things.
In this space you can feel safe. A location you can locate your attention too as often as you like.
Our meeting spot for you to project your adventure from. These walls are built from the fabric of
stillness, and serenity is its foundation. Also I feel it is important to mention that this castle
contains all the resources you may require for your adventures. Please feel free to roam around
and discover the many delights this place has to offer. We shall use some of the rooms a little
later on but for now I would like to introduce myself further. As I mentioned before my name is
Octavian and I am a member of a collective known by some as the Wanderers of the Woven worlds.
Yet this is not what we call ourselves, as we

Twelfth Night Madness
Madness and foolishness make many appearances in Twelfth Night. Feste, the jester in count
Olivia s house states in act 3 scene 1, foolery, sir, does walk about the ord like the sun; it shines
everywhere. The first appearance of madness in the play is when Orsino, the Duke of Illyria, is
reciting a poem about love. Orsino, instead of showing madness as insanity or a mental illness he
shows it as mad with love. Some have made inferences that the images Orsino creates with the
poem is him hallucinating. Orsino in scene 1 act 1 recites, If music be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die. That strain again! it had

would support him with this task.
General Approach
Make sure I understand what the user intends to do and what version of Excel the customer is using.

Omaha Tribe Research Paper
The Omaha Tribe was one of the most powerful, successful, and popular tribes of the Great Plain
Indian Tribes. In the Great Plains, the Omaha Tribe settled in current day western Iowa and partly
in northeastern Nebraska. The land on which they lived, had plains covered with grass and rivers
and streams all over the area. The climate of this place consisted of hot summers and cold winters.
They used their areas resources by fishing, hunting, and farming for food. They used the animal
skin to make clothing, blankets, shelter, shoes, and more. The Omahatribe used everything around
them to make what they needed.

longhouses. When they relocated, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Blackbird was also a very important chief for the Omaha tribe. He commanded many trade routes
used by the British, Spanish, American and French. Blackbird was one of the first chiefs to trade
with white explorers and used the trade as success for the tribe. While Blackbird was alive and

Social construction theorists suggest that identity differences are categories constructed by social
rather than biological processes. Importantly, social categories are bounded by and are often
dichotomised in both the private and public psyche. Markus et al further argue that Australia s
current social and political responses to difference are situated within the broader context of
colonial invasion, Indigenous oppression and the White Australia Policy. In the political power play
and linguistic treatment of the emblematically powerless reveals not only core party values, but
varying conceptions of Australian identity. This is especially recognisable when political debate is
considered in the context of three distinct time periods and political situations, demonstrating a
transient grasp of elusive Australianness in a society defined not by what is desirable, but what is
not, thereby degrading ideals of multi cultural egalitarianism. Put simply, Australia s postcolonial
desire to control its borders and regulate the Hegelian Other underpins the politicisation of the boat
people phenomenon. This relates closely to Chomsky s assertion that intentionally inducing fear of
a terrifying enemy is a standard device used to whip the domestic population of any country into
line behind contentious

Georgetown University Personal Statement
I had the feeling of both great satisfaction and disappointment to have received my waitlist
notification two weeks ago. I was grateful to have the potential of attending Georgetown
University. But I also felt deeply distressed; knowing I had a few weeks of waiting until I receive
an ultimate decision. Despite this distress, Georgetown remains my school of choice for a number
of reasons. And I would like to take this opportunity to rearticulate my interest in Georgetown
Universityas well as inform this admissions committee on many of my pursuits since submitting my
application.
Since applying in February, I have maintained my grades at Texas A M University. I concluded my
freshman year with a 4.0 grade point average and received the honor ... Show more content on

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to visit D.C. and walk the Georgetown campus grounds.
As I strolled around the Hilltop, I immediately sensed that I resonated with the place. The location
on top of the hill felt imposing yet emblematic of enlightenment, the striking gothic architecture
pulled the eye up to the firmament, evoking a sacred feeling. And the verdant oak rows and
towering maples delivered serenity to the already picturesque neighborhood of northwest D.C. I
remember concluding my walk by gazing out over campus at Leavey Esplanade and daydreaming
about the years I could spend on that Hilltop. I long for the opportunity to join the unique
community Georgetown has cultivated. A university which advocates for class discussion, a
university which promotes the diversity of thought, and a university in which I feel that I can

Pros And Cons Of Thomas More s Utopia
Thomas More s Utopia More s Utopia has upsides and downsides. Though I can t agree with
everything he puts forth, I can say that I would rather live in his Utopia than the other countries he
described. Sadly, some of those negative attributes, found in other countries, are found here in
America. If I could make changes to my own country, some of his Utopian methods would be a
great replacement. His ideascame from a time in history when life was a lot simpler. Had he only
known how much of the unnecessary pleasures this world would indulge in, he would ve had
many more examples of how not to live. Though kings of his time enjoyed their gold,
provocative artwork, and fancy kingdoms, inventions like the iPhone and obscene internet sites
would surely be deemed ridiculous. For starters, his idea of a shorter work day made a lot of
sense. Focus on careers that produce more of what we need and remove those professions that
cater to a tiny percentage of our wealthiest citizens. This would probably take our country back in
time, by removing many services people are used to having in 2017. However, his idea of Utopia
sounds better than living in the present. We have gotten away from what is important in life. The
shorter work day gives us more time to ourselves, more time with family, and would be less
stressful for our bodies and minds. Another reason I would prefer More s Utopia is their idea of
happiness. They get pleasurefrom basic needs being fulfilled. He spoke of

Hollywood Portrayal Of Native People
Hollywood has been making movies about many people throughout the begining. One of the most
popular types of these movies is old westerns with cowboys and Indigenous people. Hollywood
has not always represented an accurate portrayal of Indigenous peoples in the portrayal of all
Indigenous Peoples as Plains Peoples, savages, and constantly warring against other tribes. The
Indigenous Peoples were not all Plains Peoples. Many of the indigenous people were from the
southwest United States, with many splinter groups and many more different cultures (Text 5). With
hollywood s portrayal of the Plains people they lost all the cultureof the many groups of people
who were very different. With the loss of the culture and only one culture of the Indigenous
peoples represented the reality of the representation was sorely inaccurate. The Iroquois were a
group of people in the Central New York region who had a largely different culture from the
Plains People. Their society was a matriarchal society, in which the women would own the land
and head the family (Text 1). The Plains People were not portrayed in such a fashion making an
even bigger gap in the representation of each culture. The Indigenous Peoples were often
portrayed as savages within Hollywood s culture. When Mary Rowlandson was captured and
enslaved by a tribe of Indigenous People near her she saw who they really were. They may have
subjected her to slavery lack of shelter, food, and make her walk long distances, but in her

  • 2. Persuasive Barn Business Plan The floor plan for the barn is fully based on safety. The purpose for having only one open hallways is to allow clear sight all the way through. For example, if a child is on the opposite side of the barn, it doesn t matter where an adult is standing, because they will be able to see that the child is safe. The barn will hold 10 to 12 horses. A child is about 1/3 of that height. For this reason it wouldn t be safe to have several curves and turns that can block the view of a child with a horse. The barn is divided into two areas. The first being the area for the volunteers and the children or guests. This area includes the office, restrooms, storage, tack room, seating, and lockers. The second area is made up of only stables and grooming rooms. The reason for the separation is because the areas for the horses will be expected to be a bit messy and it wouldn t be enjoyable to have an office or group seating right next to... The 12 feet wide areas create a 12 by 12 stall that allows the horse to turn a full circle and lay down if needed. The walls surrounding the stall will be half covered with bars, allowing visibility for the kids. It will also create a more open space, rather than a jail cell style. The stalls will also have 2 exits for the horse. The main one being on the inside that will be a full opening. The door inside allows the trainer to direct the horse from their stall to the tacking room without having to go through the outside. The second door will be on the exterior. This will be a Dutch door. On the days with good weather, the trainers can open the top half of the Dutch door, not only letting the breeze enter but also allowing the horse to place its head through the opening. Astrophel and Stella is said to have most likely been composed in the 1580s. It is considered an English sonnet sequence that overall contains 108 sonnets and 11 songs in total. The name Astrophel comes from Greek origin translating to star lover, ad Stella is originated from Latin which means star as well. In other words Astrophel is the star lover, and Stella is his star. Some people even say Sidney wrote this about his own personal love life first about Lady Penelope Devereux, and later on Lady Rich. In Sonnet87 Sidney express his love for Stella. • 6. An Evolution Of User Participation An Evolution of User Participation Roles in Software Development We discuss in a little more detail the Struggle for Existence. ― Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species Although information systems research has long recognized the crucial role of user participation in developing better software, researchers have overlooked temporal dimension and dynamism associated with participation. This study contributes a new scholarly conversation on the longitudinal processes around how users influence software development in dynamic ways and how software organizations enable them to do so. Using a multi year qualitative inquiry, we develop an evolutionary approach that theorizes user participation roles at different stages of development with three concepts of inheritance , modification , and survival . The evolutionary approach unpacks how user participation roles are rooted deeply in the repetitive experience and the co evolution of developers and users over time. The results suggest software organizations should devote attention to the changing roles of user participation at different stages of development and design appropriate processes to support these roles. We discuss the important implications of evolutionary approach for theories of participation and engagement and for software organizations attempting to operate in the uncertain and rapidly changing context of software development. • 7. Evaluation Of A Teacher Student Relationship Linda Albert (2012) mentions for students to experience a strong sense of belonging in school, they must satisfy Cooperative Discipline s Three Cs . The Three Cs are Capable, Connect, and Contribute. Three factors affect students ability to satisfy the Three Cs in the classroom: the quality of the teacher student relationship; the strength of the classroom climate for success; and the appropriateness of the classroom structure (Albert, 2012). The best way to satisfy the Three Cs through the use of encouragement strategies. If we are positive and encouraging, people do better when they feel better, and that which people perceive affects the way they feel. For example, if you receive a compliment, then a positive feelingemerges (Marshall, 2005). The first C is helping students feel Capable. When students feel good about themselves they have fulfilled the feeling of capable. As teachers, Linda Albert mentioned different encouragement techniques to help students reach their full potential. Linda made her techniques into five major strategies: make mistakes okay, build confidence, focus on past successes, make learning tangible, and recognize achievement. I make sure I implement her strategies into my classroom. For instance, I show students that I make mistakes all the time and it is okay if they do to. Also I tell the students if they mistake in the lab, that it s okay, that s why I am here to help you . To build confidence, I make sure I focus on their improvements ... • 8. Multitask Research Paper Findings regarding multitasking seems to be a lot of talk in Psychology. Theme four says that humans are responsible limited agents and we have agency, meaning the ability to act as agents in the world. This involves the ability to chose, but it is limited. This relates to multitasking. Multitasking is the practice of doing multiple things at the same time (SGWN pg 135). Theme four can relate to multitaskingbecause having agency implies not only we make choices but also that we can change ourselves in some way. Theme four is relating to multitasking and saying that we have the choice to multitask and do multiple things at one time even though there are limitations on how much we are able to change since we exist in a particular time and place.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This involves the ability to chose, but it is limited. I agree with that when it comes to multitasking because you can chose what two tasks you re going to try to accomplish at once. For example, if you chose to text and drive acting as agents in this world, that is your choice but it is limited because you are limited to paying full attention to the road if you text and drive. For example, as mentioned in SGWN with texting and driving, the drivers trying to multitask like this become so engaged in their conversations that their minds no longer seemed to be in the car (SGWN pg 135). This is a good example for the limited agency of theme four because the texting and driving limits the driver from paying attention to what they need to. Likewise, I agree with theme five as well. Theme five states that we are meaning seekers and we always make sense of things. Also, we seek meaning through experience. I agree with this relating to multitasking because people seek meaning through experience. With the example of the texting and driving, someone could seek the meaning through the experience of texting and driving. As mentioned in SGWN, legislature is trying to ban using mobile devices while driving (SGWN pg 135) and this is all because of experiences and personal experience is a part of theme ... Advice to First Writing Course at the University of Central Florida Writing courses can be challenging and that is why I decided to write this personal narrative. I believe that a personal narrative is better for an advice column than a research paper. A personal narrative would give more personal experience and insight on how the course was. It would be more valid since it is true. I think people learn better when they read and hear something from the person they are talking to rather than being about other people, especially when it comes to advice. Lastly, students will consider how social, rhetorical, and technological contexts shape writing because it reflects sensitivity to school writing as a social affair (McCarthy 231). There are some constraints that I had to think about when deciding the genre of this paper. One constraint to this personal narrative is the time I took this course. I took ENC 1101 during the Summer B section. Summer B was only six weeks long and I had to learn the concepts of this course in that amount of time when it usually takes around sixteen weeks. I have gone from a babbling infant to a well educated undergraduate student at a pristine univeristy. I have overcome evolving life circumstances, and I have, in other words, grew up. I plan to use my life experiences along with Laura E. Berk s psychological research to explain how I have learned to grow and adapt physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively. As history progresses, the evolution of physical changes to the human body seems to move right along with it. According to Berk s studies, the secular trends in physical growth over the past 150 years have led to taller and heavier children in industrialized nations (p 413). Personally, my growth was lower than these new trends. I was average height, but I have stayed below weight even as I am maturing. In the prior family generations before me, many males experienced their growth spurt up into the twenties, so there is the slim chance that the usual teenage spurts didn t hit me because they tend to fall late in my gene pool. Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular auto immune disease that is characterized by fatigable weakness in the skeletal muscles. This occurs at the neuromuscular junction, in which acetylcholine that is being released by the pre synaptic neuron attaches to receptors at the post synaptic neuron in order to generate a muscle contraction. Basically the body produces antibodies that block, alter, or destroy these receptors thus halting motor neurons from signaling the muscles to contract. It is currently unknown why the body makes these antibodies. There are a multitude of ways of treating MG these include anticholinesterase, steroid, and immunosuppressant medicines. I read widely whilst at school, both school reading schemes and then from the school s library of classic books, as well as books at home and borrowed from public libraries. This love of books continues today, I studied English Literature and Music at university and I still read for pleasure whenever possible. I loved reading to my own children from birth and chose from a wide range of children s literature. This was encouraged in their early years at school where they were given a decodable book and a story book each week. I find the fact that some schools are removing real texts from classrooms and restricting early readers to decodable books risks creating a generation of children who fail to associate reading with pleasure. Schools today are obliged to use systematic synthetic phonics from early years but during my school experiences I have seen other phonics systems in use and I have found that, for some children, these methods have been just as effective as synthetic phonics. The Rose Report of 2006 was based primarily on Gough and Tumner s 1986 Simple View of Reading in which they stated that language comprehension and word recognition were vital components for reading. One of the conventional settings in the Gothic horror story is often in a remote locale with an isolated architecture. Gilman follows the conventions of the Gothic story by setting up the scene as the narrator of The Yellow Wallpaper describes the house and feels its ground has fallen into a slight state of disrepair. There were greenhouses, too, but they are all broken now. There was some legal trouble, I believe, something about the heirs and co heirs; anyhow, the place has been empty for years. Importantly, social categories are bounded by and are often dichotomised in both the private and public psyche. Markus et al further argue that Australia s current social and political responses to difference are situated within the broader context of colonial invasion, Indigenous oppression and the White Australia Policy. In the political power play and linguistic treatment of the emblematically powerless reveals not only core party values, but varying conceptions of Australian identity. This is especially recognisable when political debate is considered in the context of three distinct time periods and political situations, demonstrating a transient grasp of elusive Australianness in a society defined not by what is desirable, but what is not, thereby degrading ideals of multi cultural egalitarianism. Put simply, Australia s postcolonial desire to control its borders and regulate the Hegelian Other underpins the politicisation of the boat people phenomenon. This relates closely to Chomsky s assertion that intentionally inducing fear of a terrifying enemy is a standard device used to whip the domestic population of any country into line behind contentious ... • 52. Pros And Cons Of Thomas More s Utopia Thomas More s Utopia More s Utopia has upsides and downsides. Though I can t agree with everything he puts forth, I can say that I would rather live in his Utopia than the other countries he described. Sadly, some of those negative attributes, found in other countries, are found here in America. If I could make changes to my own country, some of his Utopian methods would be a great replacement. His ideascame from a time in history when life was a lot simpler. Had he only known how much of the unnecessary pleasures this world would indulge in, he would ve had many more examples of how not to live. Though kings of his time enjoyed their gold, provocative artwork, and fancy kingdoms, inventions like the iPhone and obscene internet sites would surely be deemed ridiculous. For starters, his idea of a shorter work day made a lot of sense. Focus on careers that produce more of what we need and remove those professions that cater to a tiny percentage of our wealthiest citizens. This would probably take our country back in time, by removing many services people are used to having in 2017. However, his idea of Utopia sounds better than living in the present. We have gotten away from what is important in life. The shorter work day gives us more time to ourselves, more time with family, and would be less stressful for our bodies and minds. Another reason I would prefer More s Utopia is their idea of happiness. They get pleasurefrom basic needs being fulfilled. He spoke of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Hollywood Portrayal Of Native People Hollywood has been making movies about many people throughout the begining. One of the most popular types of these movies is old westerns with cowboys and Indigenous people. Hollywood has not always represented an accurate portrayal of Indigenous peoples in the portrayal of all Indigenous Peoples as Plains Peoples, savages, and constantly warring against other tribes. The Indigenous Peoples were not all Plains Peoples. Many of the indigenous people were from the southwest United States, with many splinter groups and many more different cultures (Text 5). With hollywood s portrayal of the Plains people they lost all the cultureof the many groups of people who were very different. With the loss of the culture and only one culture of the Indigenous peoples represented the reality of the representation was sorely inaccurate. The Iroquois were a group of people in the Central New York region who had a largely different culture from the Plains People. Their society was a matriarchal society, in which the women would own the land and head the family (Text 1). The Plains People were not portrayed in such a fashion making an even bigger gap in the representation of each culture. The Indigenous Peoples were often portrayed as savages within Hollywood s culture. When Mary Rowlandson was captured and enslaved by a tribe of Indigenous People near her she saw who they really were. They may have subjected her to slavery lack of shelter, food, and make her walk long distances, but in her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
