The Monster In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the creature is introduced to four readings that influenced
his outlook on human life. The four books being Paradise Lost By John Milton,Plutarch s Lives of the
Noble Greeks and Romans By Plutarch,The Sorrows of Young Werther By Johann Wolfgang von
Goethe and Ruins of Empires by Constantin François de Volney . Knowing that these four works
influenced the creature to be who he became, I would change them in hopes of him becoming good. In
the story of Frankenstein, the Creature studies or listens to 4 books. Each book molded who he
became and how he thought or felt about society. Bibliotherapy is used occasionally for psychiatric
therapy or to help solve your personal problems. If his reading choices ... Show more content on

Each of these books stand for power and strength in the individual despite the physical and emotional
challenges they face. When the Creature finds the book, it fills his head with wild ideas. Such as, As I
read, however, I applied much personally to my own feelings and condition (Shelley 114). This is
explaining how he became the monster that he is portrayed as. Throughout Frankenstein, the monster
is sad because he cannot read, write, or communicate with others, so when he finds the book
collection he cannot wait to read every single one. When the monster kills Henry Clerval, he makes it
seem like Henry tried to attempt suicide by drowning him. This is taken right out of Sorrows of Young
Werther because of the boyfriend drowning himself. Another writing that was influential to Shelley s
Frankenstein was Paradise Lost by John Milton. This is said to be the most influential piece of
literature that the Creature was based on.Paradise Lost is an epic poem about a version of the creation
story. In Frankenstein, the creature and Frankenstein meet on the top of Mont Blanc and the Creature
starts to tell his life story from the time that he was abandoned. He tells of the list of books that he

Essay on Jet Blue
Jet Blue has an opportunity to remain cutting edge in the airline industry by continuing to be low cost
and expanding carrier. A great market for Jet Blue to expand to would be towards the Caribbean s. As
well as possibly lobbying Washington to lift travel sanctions in Cuba, which at one point was a major
vacation getaway for Americans. This opportunity fits into Jet Blues current business model of short
distance flights at a lower cost than the competition.
Jet Blue is a shinning star in the gloomy airline industry. Jet Blue has been showing great earnings and
growth since its incorporation in 2000. Jet Blue uses innovative strategies to further their success in a
market, which has been showing nothing but losses across the board. ... Show more content on

Along with reducing the amount of middlemen customers have to deal with, added to his reduced
expense structure which in turn proved to be cost effective.
David Neeleman originally worked for South West Airlines and helped increase there business, but
wanted to venture out on his own. Neelemen experienced set backs because his prior employer made
him sign a no compete contract for five years. During those five years Neeleman was able to complete
a solid business plan, which would use South West Airlines business model but with better marketing
strategies
Jet Blue was built on a strong foundation with experienced and knowledgeable people making
decisions. Neeleman felt that certain key employees needed to be put in place to have this organization
grow the way it has. So a solid team was put in place and the machine has been oiled. In order for Jet
Blue to have obtained such a significant market they needed unique marketing. Jet Blue approached
and targeted specific markets which they serviced with certain marketing incentives.
Jet Blue set up its main head quarters in New York s JFK which is one of the biggest airports in the
world. This was a strategic plan due to the lack of domestic flights going in and out of JFK, that
minimized there competition which allowed them to continue on a path which led them to there
success. Through targeting specific markets and concentrating their efforts on those markets they
gained a loyal

Compare and contrast The Echoing Green with The Schoolboy by
Compare and contrast The Echoing Green with The Schoolboy by
William Blake
Both The Echoing Green and The Schoolboy are classed under the section, Songs of Innocence ,
which at first suggests that they will be of a similar nature. However this presumption is dispelled
early on, as one examines the issues behind the often comparable wording.
Many elements in The Schoolboy do echo those in The Echoing Green and visa versa, but the
atmospheres of each poem that are presented are so different that it becomes difficult to see how two
such contrasting pieces of work can unite in the same genre.
The Echoing Green is one of Blake s most idyllic poems, as it is set in a pastoral and carefree
atmosphere, which centres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using the image of a summer morn in the first stanza, Blake creates a tranquil and untainted
atmosphere, and descriptions such as birds sing and the distant huntsman winds his horn add an
auditory element in an almost identical way to the previous poem. However the serene scene does not
continue into the second verse, where the tone changes and Blake describes how having to go to
school ruins such a beautiful day: it drives all joy away . The use of the word drives is quite strong and
terminates the flowing nature of the previous verse, and the repetition of a summer morn allows one to
contrast the two verses.
From hence forward, The Schoolboy continues with a fairly negative tone, switching from the first
person, I drooping sit to a more philosophical stance towards the end, How shall we gather what griefs
destroy? . The stoical conclusion I feel demonstrates the implications of education, and shows that, if
buds are nipped , one not only damages childhood but also runs the risk of establishing a long term
effect on the individual, later on in life.
Both poems use time to illustrate the changing nature of the individuals, but even this is performed in
very different ways. The increasing darkness of The Schoolboy could be seen as representational of
the changing seasons, adding to the aspect of the natural world in the poem, especially as the final

Essay On Veterans Ethics
Over the last decade or so we have seen our country fail our Veterans on so many different levels. The
U.S. Governments treatment of our Veterans has come under fire because so many of our Veterans are
not being adequately taken care of. Some would say this is a mere oversight in our government, but to
me it is a lack of ethics. Menzel defines Ethics as values and principles that guide right and wrong
behavior. When we look at the landscape of our Government beginning with the Executive office we
see a lack of leadership in my opinion. The President of the United States should be the biggest
advocate for our Veterans. Unfortunately, we see decisions that are made based on political motives
instead of what s right for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for the ... Show more

There is plenty of empty promises that are being made all while many of our Veterans are lacking
adequate medical care or are struggling to keep a roof over their heads while suffering from issues that
are related to war. We have Senators and Congressman who is paid handsomely, and who receives
better care than many of our veterans do. Many veterans have to wait extended periods of time before
they can receive care, most are making pennies compared to our elective officials whose interest are
only in special interest groups who gives millions of dollars to them in campaign money. According to
Legistorm members of Congress make $174,000 a year, the Speak of the House makes $223,000; this
is five times and six times what the average veteran makes in our country. We rely on these individuals
to make policies and laws to help people, especially our veterans. With the past corruptions at several
VA Facilities, we see that the best interest of our Veterans is not being made a priority even though our
President and Congress have made pledges to help these

Why Is Aeschylus Called The Most Superior Greek Drama
Aeschylus, one of the first Greek dramatists, was born between 525 524 BCE, during the period that
the Athenian government was evolving from a tyranny to a democracy. Throughout his whole life, he
would alternate between serving in the military and performing and writing dramas. Every year,
Aeschylus would attend the Great Dionysia, a competition where three dramatists would perform their
dramas or plays and would get ranked from first to third place. Out of his ninety plays, he won thirteen
first place awards. Which means that he won about 42 awards because each tragedy entry consisted of
four plays. He died at age 69 between 456 455 BCE. Aeschylus deserves to have the title of the Most
Superior Greek because of his great innovations, descriptions

Sympathy In A Streetcar Named Desire
Throughout the final scene of A Streetcar Named Desire Tennessee Williams evokes a resounding
feeling of sympathy within the audience, through allowing them to see Blanche s fate before her
which creates a conspiring atmosphere of mistrust and ambush. This is created by this scene directly
following the most dramatic in which Blanche is raped by Stanley and Stella gives birth, creating a
just as dramatic denouement. The first way in which Williams creates an understanding in the
audience of what will happen to Blanche is through Blanche s shockingly apparent deterioration; of
appearance and personality, and her mental instability, Shown in the line What s happened here? I
want an explanation of what s happened here , suggesting to the audience her fear, panic and sudden
lack of confidence. This is an astounding contrast to her domineering nature of scene ... Show more

This also shows to the audience the impact the rape has had on Blanche that it has completely severed
her already tenuous grasp on reality, accelerating her descent into madness, also showed by her
anxious remark of Why are you looking at me like that? Is something wrong with me? . Blanche s
helplessness is reinforced as she is pushed back by her sister and Eunice whose domineering attitude
over the conversation and planning taking place, allows the audience sympathy towards Stella
although she has stated that she couldn t believe her story and go on living with Stanley holding no
importance to the truth, likening her to her sister; the idea that the truth is of little importance
compared to the magic they both chase. Williams accentuates this power change and thus
understanding of Blanche s fate before she herself knows through the conspiring nature of Stella and
Eunice in turn creating sympathy for Blanche and

Liberal Party Ideology
During the 2015 Canadian federal election campaign, Justin Trudeau s Liberal Party took policy
positions that were furthest to the political left compared to the other two main parties, the
Conservative Party and the New Democratic Party (NDP). In an effort to appeal to traditional liberal
supporters as well as voters who traditionally identify with the NDP, the Liberal Party adopted a
reform liberal economic agenda and social democratic policies. Conversely, Thomas Mulcair, the
leader of the NDP, embraced a campaign platform to the right of the Liberals. In particular, the NDP s
agenda blended neo liberal economic policies with moderate conservative social policies. Stephen
Harper s Conservative Party adopted policies that were similar to the ideologies of the New Right,
which embodies neo liberal economic policies and conservative social policies. This essay will argue
that the ideological similarities between the Conservatives and the NDP changed the political
landscape in the recent election as voters were left with only two distinct political ideologies to choose
from instead of the traditional three. In supporting this position, this essay will first examine the
economic ideologies of these three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the Conservatives on this issue, the NDP caused progressive electors who wanted Canada to play a
larger humanitarian role on the world stage to vote for the Liberals. Voters seeking to admit a large

Bilingual Language Learners ( Ell ), And Students
A. Introduction
There are so many diverse student groups in the United States. Two that are really of interest to me are
English language learners (ELL), and students in foster care. Though they have many similarities, they
are also vastly different.
A.1. Definition and Demographics
ELL students are either students whose first language is not English or who were raised speaking
another language in their home. ELL students made up about 9% of public school students in the
United States during the 2014/2015 school year, which equals out to about 4.5 million students!
Spanish is the number one first language of ELL students, making up about 77%. Arabic and Chinese
are the next two most popular languages ELL students speak, but only ... Show more content on

This all falls under linguicism. This discrimination based on language is not only a severe challenge
for ELL students, but also incredibly unfair. As people who speak English as our first language it s
easy to take advantage of that privilege, but we need to give those who do not speak English as their
first language the same respect that we would want if we were learning another language in a
surrounding that was foreign to us.
A.3.a. Strategy for ELL Students
Growing up in an incredibly diverse area, I completely overestimate the availability of ESL (English
as a second language) and ELL teachers. Because all ELL students do not have access to such help,
educators can do well to make a personal effort to reach out to their ELL students. By making a
personal effort to connect with ELL students, educators can better understand how to help them get the
most out of their education. Giving them special attention will not only help them succeed but also
make them feel more comfortable and welcome. Educators could go above and beyond by making
special copies of homework assignments for students that feature both English and the students first
language. This way they will no doubt understand what is being asked of them, but also learn new
words at the same time! Another way educators could show a personal effort could be by making time
to work with the students outside of classroom time, further explaining anything that was taught

Cultural Artifact with Hot Dry Noodles
Culture is not only reflected in the performing arts or languages, but it is also more able to reflect on
the food that people under different food cultural backgrounds, their eating habits and tastes are
different. Every place in this world had one or more typical foods to show its culture. Wuhan, where I
grew up, is famous not only of its historical sites, like Yellow Crane Tower and Guiyuan Tempe but
also famous of its characteristic snacks, such as Hot Dry Noodle, Doupi and duck necks. In these
special foods, Hot Dry Noodle is the most important one because it is not only good at taste, but it also
can show the culture of Wuhan that this city contains enthusiasm, wisdom, gentleness, and
perseverance. In order to prove thesis, I am going to discuss the history of Hot Dry Noodles, Hot Dry
Noodles in Wuhan people lives, and the culture aspect of Hot Dry Noodles. Most characteristic foods
usually have legendary stories, and Hot Dry Noodles is no an exception. In the 1920s, most Chinese
were not wealthy. A hawker named Bao Lee, sold jelly and noodles for living in Long Beach Street,
Hankou. One day, the weather was unusually hot, and a lot of noodles were not sold out. Bao Lee was
afraid that noodles would become rancid, so he cooled remaining noodles, and dried these noodles on
board. However, he accidentally knocked over the oil pot, and sesame oil poured on the noodles. Bao
Lee saw this, and there was no alternative but to mix the noodles with oil and let noodles dry

Homelessness
Lakeland is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States, located between the two larger cities in
central Florida those being Tampa to the west and Orlando to the east. While interventions to interrupt
and end homelessness may vary across groups, ending homelessness permanently requires housing
combined with the types of services supported by programs operated by the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services (HHS). This paper will address demographics for the area, identify the
social issue of homelessness, and address using a social action model for community change, and the
strengths and weaknesses of the model.
According to the United States Census Bureau estimate, Lakeland had a population of 100,710 (US
Census Bureau, 2006). According to the Lakeland Economic Development Council, the numbers of
existing households in 2013 were 41,833 (2013). The average household income in 2013 for Lakeland
was $50,064, with the median household income at $36,495. The average hourly wage in 2013 was
$18.18. Lakelands labor force for 2013 was 42,658. There were 39521 employed in 2013. The
unemployed number was 3137 for 2013, setting the population of the unemployed for Lakeland at

John Brown Crimes
John Brown s actions at Pottawatomie Creek and Harper s Ferry can be seen as acts of terrorism by a
person or peoples opinion, but a closer study of modern and historic violent actions show he was a
freedom fighter. Certainly, this is factual because there is no actual definition of terrorism, it is simply
an opinion on someone s actions. Therefore, it is almost irrelevant for one be convicted a terrorist if no
one can actually have a justified reasoning behind their choices.
Some may say Brown s childhood had a major impact on some of his violent actions that occurred
later on in his life. When he was very young, he suffered the loss of his mother. As a result it began to
harvest a bit of rage in his heart that would soon turn into a never ending spiral of rage. It wasn t long
after this loss that Brown witnessed a slave being beaten. It was that moment that Brown began to
pursue his goal of ending slavery.
Brown made many violent attacks through his long attempt to end slavery. One of Brown s rather
horrific attacks was the murder of five pro slavery settlers in the Pottawatomie Creek. It was once

The students watched this video, then discussed what they thought were the important take aways. The
main points the teachers seemed to want the students to take away from that video is what causes earth
quakes, what are the strongest type of earthquake, and how do we measure earthquakes. The second
video the class watched, showed video footage of the aftermath of some earthquakes that have
happened in history. The video showed destruction of buildings, and how earthquakes can cause
tsunamis and the destruction that tsunamis also cause. The point of this video was to show the students
how important the engineering of building is, and got them to start thinking about their own bridges
and how they can withstand an earthquake. We did not directly discuss bridges this week though, our
focus was primarily on earthquakes.
When we broke up into our teams, my team was trying to answer two specific questions; what are the
effects of an earthquake? And can we build earthquake proof buildings. I worked with two boys in the
class, Kendall and Sean to help answer these questions. To answer these questions each of the students
had a laptop and used Google Classroom to access links to websites the teachers provided to answer
these questions. We discussed what the effects of an earthquake are, this included destruction of

Difference Between Art And Contemporary Art
Christian Casas
Rafael Hernandez
LIT3400
The Everyday
A typical way of relating social/political issues to art assumes that art represents the thing one way or
another. But there can be a more interesting perspective, which is looking at the field of art as a place
of work. Basically look at what it does not what it shows. Amid all other forms of art, fine art has been
associated with post Fordist ideology. Post Fordism is a popular system of economically based on
production, consumption and has been in most industrialized countries since the late 20th century.
Contemporary art is not an out of this world discipline hidden away in some remote building. In fact,
it s the opposite because it positions itself in the thick of things. It can function as a brand name
without a brand feeding off the bits and pieces of social and political issues. Presently, contemporary
art has grown apart from important hubs, which gives the artist a wider range of production and
provides various opportunities for showcasing the work. In contrast, this has not always been the case.
Artist in novels about portraitures are depicted as servants due to the flow of cash. Art should be
functioning on its own without the need of an institutional backing in order to create separation
between the artist and their work as well as what the work can do .
Portraits appear as an object already existing in the world and about whose producer and the process
of production not much (most often nothing) needs

The piece is classified as Aboriginal Australian literature. It was published in the 1960 s. The purpose
of the text is to give hope in a new beginning after the events involving the racial tension between the
Aboriginals and the white settlers. The poem is directed to the Aboriginal people of Australia who
suffered from these events This poem relates to Aboriginal Australian as it was written by the hand
and views of one, and was written for the Aboriginals. The text itself is very emotive and powerful
and I personally was unable to resist the emotions it reverberates however I cannot say whether it
would be the same for anyone who could read it. This poem however can be indirectly confronting to
those who don t share the same viewpoints as Walker. The also poem has a degree of stereotyping in

The Problem Of Social Media Essay
Fascination of social media is soaring up in a phenomenal growth. Young generations especially
teenage are becoming crazy for the buzz media even so middle aged alongside near and above sixty
aged people are also athirst for this in our country. This scenario is taken a gander not only in
Bangladesh but also in all over the world. According to the worldwide ranking of popularity, social
networking sites are Facebook, twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, My Space, Whatsapp and so
forth respectively. Needless to say that Facebook is the most ever trendy social network in
Bangladesh. Online revealed statistics of Internet Live Stats , cited by World Wide Web Consortium

Gonadotropin Simulation
Gonadotropins are a group of hormones that are secreted by the pituitary gland that starts the
production of the gonads. The reason gonadotropins are used in fertility is because it has FSH and LH
hormone that aids in producing eggs in order for a woman to ovulate. So in other words, if a women
does not have enough hormone to start ovulation she will be given a rFSH for about 12 days to help
the eggs mature and then a dose of gonadotropin to start the ovulation process.
In the female reproductive system a hormone known as estrogen is controlled by gonadotropin which
is controlled by negative feedback. During negative feedback from the estrogen prevent the anterior

Also the release of FSH and LH and will stop the body to release the egg to get fertilize. Because
estrogen and progesterone controls the hormone levels in a female in return will stop estrogen from
increasing during the cycle. If progesterone remains high this will stop FSH and LH from releasing
this will cause the egg from maturing and will stop the ovulation process.
Estrogen and progesterone are involved because it aids in the stopping of a woman period. It allows
the fluid in the virgina to become thick and the uterus lining so the fertilized egg cannot attach.
Pregnancy is similar to birth control because when you are taking birth control a large amount of
progesterone is released and maintained so it can prevent the release of FSH and LH in the body to
stop ovulation so you will not get pregnant and the uterus lining will shed due to no fertilized egg and
you will have a period. However, if the egg is fertilized ones the egg is planted on the uterus wall and
the hormone corteum luteum will produce progesterone so the egg that is implanted can grow. This
will also stop the release of the FSH and the LH hormone so that ovulation cannot take

Michael Cimino s Film The Deer Hunter
Michael Cimino s film The Deer Hunter would receive mix reviews as well, even though it won best

deeply troubling and troublesome (for the manner in which Mr.Cimino manipulates the narrative), but

The Spectroscopy Lab Centralized On The Properties Of Waves
The spectroscopy lab centralized on the properties of waves and they relate to the emission spectrum,
however one must understand the Bohr model of the atom first. The Bohr model for the atom depicts a
planetary like structure, with a positively charged nucleus in the center with small, negatively charged
electrons rotating around in specific, fixed orbits at different distances from the nucleus. When an
electron transitions from a higher orbital, where it is in its excited state, back down to a lower orbital
where it is relaxed or in its ground state, it emits light. The emitted light is a result of the electron
releasing the previously absorbed energy. It is possible to observe an electron in one state or another,
however an electron never possesses the capability to be observed in between states. Transitions
between states that are closer together, produce a light of lower energy transitions of a longer distance.
A spectroscope is able to display the emitted light by presenting the bright interference patterns of the
diverse wavelengths which make up the spectrum. By looking through the eyepiece, a spectrum will
appear on either side of the slit the slit starts all of the light waves passing down the tube in phase so
that they arrive at the slits in the diffraction grating at the same time. When wavelengths are in phase,
they create constructive interference, which results in double the amplification, while wave lengths
that are out of phase produce destructive

My Journey From Southeast High School At The University Of...
Everyone has had a different journey of getting to college. Now that I have gotten to college I want to
reflect on my journey from Southeast High School to the University of Central Florida (UCF). I will
be talking about my past experiences as a high school student and I want to talk about some
challenges I experienced so far. Also, I want to tell you about how college has been so far. I would
also like to tell you how my professors would describe me. In all, I will have talked about what went
well in high school, some challenges, my college experiences and also how my professors would
describe me, this will have shown you my college journey so far. I went to a relatively small high
school by the name of Southeast High School during the four years there I did the IB program, which
had an even smaller class around forty five kids. There are three experiences I would like to talk
about. One experience would be my participation in the IB program, which allowed me to be better
prepared for college. Having a IB class under fifty allowed for many of the students to succeed in
every class and on the IB exams. My family was very supported in my decision to join the IB
program. Secondly, since the first day of middle school, I was involved in an origination called the
Technology Student Association (TSA), I continued this club onto high school and I plan on becoming
a alumni. I competed in various events while in TSA I won multiple district, state and national
trophies but I could

Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontic experts recommend that children be screened for braces by the time they turn 7. This is
the recommended age because the child s permanent first molars (upper and lower) should already be

Pediatric Dentistry of Central Florida, we know the importance of a healthy, vibrant smile. For this
reason, our patients receive an orthodontic evaluation at each routine visit.
Issues That May Affect the Teeth and Jaw
Some of the issues that may lead to the need for braces include variances in jaw development and
tooth eruption patterns as well as habits like thumb/finger sucking, pacifier use and/or prolonged

Potential benefits of early treatment include the ability to guide jaw growth, correct oral habits that are
harming the teeth, lower the risk of a trauma occurring to protruding front teeth, enhance your child s

In some cases, early orthodontic treatment may actually prevent a future problem from developing,
decrease the amount of time that treatment is necessary when the child is older, make future any
treatment less complicated or avoid the need for future treatment altogether. Moreover, there are
situations when an orthodontist must address issues as the face and jaws are still forming. With the
benefit of early, routine orthodontic evaluations at Pediatric Dentistry of Central Florida, you provide
your child with his or her best chance for a healthy, vibrant smile.
Early Treatment is Not Always Necessary
Conversely, there might be problems that early treatment cannot address or a problem that does not

How do story telling techniques in Japanese comic media differ to the western tradition?
The differences between the Eastern, Anime and Manga and the Western, Comic and Cartoon

distinctions that can be made between the two.
The words Anime and Manga refer to two separate and distinct, but interrelated things. The word

Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale who has been described as the founder of modern nursing was born to a English
family in Florence on May 12, 1820. Nightingale was born to a very religious, and wealthy family and
was often encouraged to attend church as a girl. When Nightingale turned 24 she decided that she had
the desire to work in hospitals, but her family strongly disapproved due to the hospital conditions at
the time. Her parents finally gave her permission to attend a prestigious nursing school in Germany. In
1853 Nightingale took charge of a charity which took care of women in distressed circumstances.
After the breakout of the Crimean War Nightingale decided to organize a team of nurses to help tend
to wounded British soldiers. After arriving in Constantinople Nightingale observed that the condition
at the British hospital were terrible and quickly sought to fix this issue. Even though the British Army

Wildfire Assessment
Wildfire Assessment For as long as mankind can conceive, fire has been a remarkable tool to conquer.
When controlled, it provides necessary heat, energy, and fuel for a consumer to use; however, when
fire goes unattended, it has the potential to become a wholly destructive element. The more western
states of America, such as Utah and Colorado, have repeatedly experienced this concept in its most
devastating form: wildfires. A wildfire is generally considered to be difficult to control and fast
moving, swallowing anything that lay in its path, including forest or human habitat. As human
incursion reaches more remote areas in wooded mountains, wildfires pose a serious threat to high end
homes and secluded cabins. The untamed nature of these fires also allows them to creep into
subdivisions and endanger more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For centuries, society has been battling these natural disasters with considerable effort, only to come
up with charred land and numerous homeless citizens. The one most significant gain, however, that
comes with these fires is the vigorous regrowth that occurs years after the devastation. With a freshly
cleared area, decaying sediment acting as fertilizer, and a significantly lower chance for fires, new life
is easily reintroduced from the waste. The question then becomes whether it is ethical for human
intervention with what is completely natural and healthy for the surrounding environment. The idea of
allowing uncontrolled burns comes with great potential for animal and plant habitats, however it
leaves many citizens in the wake of danger. Finding the balance between these two ideas, excessive
interference and absolute surrender of control, is an important endeavor to way

Impact Of Childhood On British Romantic Poetry
The Impact of Childhood on British Romantic Poetry How did changing ideas in regard to childhood
shape the newly developing Romantic style in poetry and literature? During the 19th century, the
subject of childhood sparked debate among society (Metz). According to popular Enlightenment
thinkers of the age, and a majority of society, youth had been considered as essentially just smaller
versions of adults. That is to say, children were seen as young adults that simply lacked life
experience, but were still mentally and physically capable of dealing with adult problems and
responsibilities. This was eventually brought into question as the Industrial Revolution was set in full
swing and working class children were sent off to make money for their families (Reynolds). People
began to question the ethics of exploiting children as factory workers that had to be exposed to
dangerous, physically taxing, and often traumatizing conditions. At the same time, a new literary
movement was beginning to form. In reaction to the logic, reason, and lack of emotion brought on by
the Enlightenment and Neoclassicism (which was prevalent in society and literature at the time), the
Romantic era began. Romantic writers rejected the ideas of Enlightenment thinkers and favored
emotion and imagination above strict logic and reason. As a result, many Romantic poets and writers
began to question the idea of children and adults being functionally and emotionally equal to each
other. This emerging idea

Comparison Between Macbeth And Romeo And Juliet
In both Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare presents to the audience impressive female
characters. These women were bravely defiant in the patriarchal society of the 16th century in which
they lived. Lady Macbeth embraced the fight for power, which was conventionally thought as a man s
deed: Juliet spoke and acted against male authority. Her father s expectation for her marriage and fate
was for Juliet, unbearable. Such rejection and rebellion against male supremacy was not only highly
dangerous to women, but it also definitely shook the stability of patriarchal dominance.
Callaghan (1989) suggested that, under a significant religious influence , Renaissance society was
profoundly hierarchal , ranking society members in the following order: God, monarch, men, and
women. Therefore, it was compulsory for women to submissively consider themselves as silent and

Dr Strangelove Essay
Stanley Kubrick s sexual parody, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the

film satirizes the heightened tensions between America and Russia. Many sexual insinuations are
implemented to ridicule the serious issue of a global nuclear holocaust, in an effort to countervail the
terror that plagued America at that time. Organizing principles, such as Kubrick s blunt political
attitudes about the absurdity of war and the satirical genre, are echoed by the film style of his anti war

From the beginning, the viewer is informed that the bombers have two hours before they attack, and
the almost continuous temporal relation between plot time and real time evokes suspense. For
instance, in the War Room , the large map of Russia that displays the progress of the planes towards
their targets coincides with actual screen time, creating increased anticipation and consternation.
The majority of the film s sound is derived exclusively from diegetic speech and sound effects that
bolster its overall realism. However, the first instance of nondiegetic sound occurs in the opening
credits when a male narrator provides rudimentary background information on the Doomsday Device .
This voice over narration stimulates the suspense of the narrative while providing the spectator with
unrestricted information by revealing more insight than the characters know at this point. The ensuing
credits sequence incorporates the song Try a Little Tenderness which communicates the idea that men
should be tender with their women. The romantic song is cunningly integrated with the image of two
B 52 bombers connecting, as one refuels the other. The sequence is suggestive of romance and the
physical act of love. Following Dr. Strangelove s infamous speech at the conclusion of the film, a

Comparison Of Angelas Ashes And Angela s Ashes
Finally, both novels display the effects of living in these situations as well as the similar methods in
which people cope with the hardships in life. Alcoholism affects characters in both novels, specifically
Frank McCourt s father, Malachy, and Dickens tragic hero, Sydney Carton. In Angela s Ashes, one of
the constant sources of their misfortunes is Malachy McCourt. Though he cares for his family, as
evident in his strong relationship with his sons and love for their mother, he continuously drinks away
the family s money for food and other basic necessities for life, spending long nights at pubs and
coming home in the early morning. One night, Angela is fed up and orders Frank to go find his father
at the pub and tell everyone, your father is drinking the money for the baby... there isn t a scrap of
food in this house, not a lump of coal to start the fire, not a drop of milk for the baby s bottle

family, money wise as well as emotionally. Malachy is unable to change for his family as the alcohol
has already taken over his life and he relies on it to cope, for example when his infant daughter passes
away. In A Tale of Two Cities, Sydney Carton is also reliant on alcohol and spends a lot of time drunk,

Great Expectations for All Essay
Introduction
As humans grow up, they must all experience the awkward phase of the teen years, as they leave
behind childhood for adulthood. In these times of transformations, one often finds themselves marred
by the wicked ways of naïve love and the humiliation many experience. In Charles Dickens novel
Great Expectations, one is able to watch an innocent boy s transformation into a mature gentleman
who is still a child at heart. Pip is plagued with the daunting responsibilities of adulthood and deciding
where his loyalties lay. Torn between the alluring world of the rich and his roots in a destitute village,
Pip must make a decision.
In his early existence, extraordinary young Pip lives in impoverished house in Kent, England with his

Trapped underneath is Dickens satirical use of Mrs. Havisham who is the epitome of wealth. Great
Expectations is one of the most revered novels for its universal themes and the adventures of Pip.
Charles Dickens wrote Great Expectations in small installments in London between 1860 and 1861.
These increments were not accumulated as a book until early 1861, when they were published in
America and in London. Money was often a source of conflict Dickens was constantly running astray
on debts so in an ingenious scheme, he was paid by the word (Landow). Great Expectations is a
revolutionary novel paving the way for equality on a sea of revolutionary times.
Scholarly Article
The main assertion of the Van brunt s article is that Dickens tries to redefine the gender roles of the
Victorian era, but he still describes his characters in their respective gendered spheres. The portrayal
of gender roles throughout Great Expectations undermines the Victorian era indoctrinated gender roles
(Alexa Van brunt). Van brunt argues that as Dickens twists the roles of motherhood and femininity to
produce warped relationships that mar pitiful Pip s life. The early Victorian era is remembered as an
era of strict archetypes for each gender. Women were often confined to the home and were
characterized by nurturing, emphatic, submissive attributes.
Unfortunately brunt only focuses on the female charters of the novel and ignores the transformation of
the male s roles in

Comparing Empathy in Blade Runner and Slaughterhouse-Five...
Empathy in Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep)and Slaughterhouse Five
What does it mean to be human? This is a question that is often asked in literary works. Is it our
intelligence that separates us from being like any other animal on this planet or is it something else?
Perhaps it is our ability to feel empathy for other humans and other forms of life. If this is so, then
how is it that we also have violence and wars where humans hurt and kill other humans? How is it that
humans can hurt animals without a second thought, if it s our ability to feel empathy that separates us
from them? Both Philip K. Dick and Kurt Vonnegut explore these questions in their novels Blade
Runner (Do Androids Dream ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone is a follower of Mercerism, which encourages people to feel empathy for others and for
animals. In this manner, everyone on Earth survives without feeling that he or she is alone. The main
character of Blade Runner is Rick Deckard, a bounty hunter for the Los Angeles police department.
Several androids had killed their owners on Mars and had escaped to Earth. The first bounty hunter
that went after them managed to retire two before being put in the hospital himself. It was up to
Deckard to destroy the remaining six. Unfortunately, the androids who escaped were the new Nexus 6
types, which looked and acted exactly like real humans. They were even more intelligent than most
humans. The only way to tell them apart from real humans is by measuring the amount of empathy
they can feel, which isn t as great as humans. While hunting these rouge androids, Deckard s whole
perception of what it is to be human gets questioned and he begins to wonder if there is that much
difference between a human and an android.
Slaughterhouse Five, is based on the author s real life experiences in World War II. In fact, chapter one
of the book is all about how Vonnegut is going about writing this novel. The main character of this
book, though, is a civilian named Billy Pilgrim, who through unfortunate circumstances ends up on
the enemy side of the line during the war. He

Tyler Durden s Loss Of Aggression In Fight Club
The movie Fight Club was based on the story of a man, played by Edward Norton, that had
unmanaged aggression. He met Tyler Durden, played by Brad Pitt, who was a different version of
himself resulting from not releasing aggression. The result of not releasing aggression in a healthy
way started symptoms, including insomnia and getting away from the self, the need for self
destruction, and the need for physical release of aggression. These affect the relationship with one s
self, romantic relationships, and social relationships. The narrator leads a very mundane, materialistic
life. Without releasing aggression, he started feeling the effects of sleep deprivation, depression, and
begins slowly losing his perception of reality. At the beginning of the movie he began to lose track of
the day of the week and was careless at his job. He went to his doctor to try to get medication to help
him deal with insomnia. Unsuccessful, he joined every kind of terminal illness support group to gain
empathy and help him cry; he realized this is the only way to get himself to sleep. He said, When ...

Knowledge Management is an organization s methodology of making their intellectual assets as fully
functional, or effective as possible. This is a systematic approach organized to enhance understanding.
It s the managing of information in a way that provides an organization with a competitive advantage.
Information Systems can be summed in three words: technology, people, and process. Information
Systems is a group of interrelated components that first start with the technology, which includes:
hardware, software, and infrastructure. People are also included and they are the trained personnel. To
put the system together would be the process, which includes combining the trained personnel to work
together to support decision making and provide a value to an organization.
Organizational Learning has two main parts. First, it is manifested by shared ideas in an organization.
Then the shared ideas are developed into a common meaning by the organization. Organizations learn
by the interaction in a collective setting.
A High Performance Team is a group of people that molds together their skills in order to strengthen
performance results. The group members commit to a common purpose and are in line with one
another to hold themselves accountable to the team s performance.

As more developers take up the 3D slots cause in 2015, it has taken something special from the
established names in order to sign up.
An Offer You Can t Refuse
The inspiration for The Slotfather is fairly evident. The Godfather was considered not only one of the
greatest films of the 1970s, but one of the greatest films of all time. The adaptation of Mario Puzo s
novel is considered truly iconic and has proven to a great inspiration for Betsofts s latest 3D slots title.
The Slotfather is not only easy on the eye; it pushes the gangster s of days gone by into the limelight.
While it may have found its inspiration from within The Godfather film franchise, it is decisively
more light hearted in nature. The on screen characters have a cartoon look that makes them easy on
the eye. What makes this game truly special from a design standpoint is the games unbelievable
attention to detail. Every single aspect of the game features flawless animation, the likes of which you

The Benefits Of Driverless Cars
Driving is a part of mostly everyone s day to day lifestyles. When you think about it, driving is
something that most people take very seriously however, there are some people that don t take it very
seriously. Driverless cars would be a nice investment for people who are extremely busy, so they could
maybe finish their work while traveling. Driverless cars however, would not be a very good
investment in my opinion for so many reasons. Having a driverless car would mean that you had no
control over what happened to the car which is highly dangerous because it is just a big machine, and
machines malfunction very often. Driverless cars would also take away so many jobs for people that
could really need them, causing people to be left without a home, food, clothes, etc. In my opinion
driverless cars are stupid and I do not agree with them. In this essay we will look at perspective one,
two, and three to see what people have to say about driverless cars. First, we will look at perspective
one. Perspective one states that driverless cars are an amazing idea and they will save countless lives,
protect the environment, and allow more transportation options for the poor. It also states that the
benefits of driverless cars will vastly outweigh any short term drawbacks. I don t fully agree with this.
I believe that driverless cars are not a completely amazing idea, they could save many lives but they
could also endanger many, and I do not believe that they will allow more

The Philosopher King
If the choice is between a blind person and a sharp sighted one, isn t it clear which one we ll need?
(Plato 203). The image of the philosopher king was thoroughly described in Plato s Republic, but the
perfect ruler or philosopher king has transformed throughout history and are influenced by historical
events. First, the description of a perfect ruler in an ideal society in Plato s Republic will be the first
comparison and the basis of a philosopher king. Second, Marcus Aurelius, who was described as the
first philosopher king wrote Meditations and it expresses his own thoughts and beliefs which can
ultimately reflect his actions. Lastly, Notker s account of Charlemagne can be used to examine a king
who may not always be recognized as a philosopher king, but Charlemagne is described as a great
ruler who valued learning and philosophy. These three examples are from different time periods and
so their perception and lifestyles are different in some aspects. Likewise, all three accounts are from
different viewpoints because the Republic is not examining one specific person, but an ideal
individual. Marcus Aurelius wrote about himself and his beliefs and values are examined to determine
philosopher king characteristics. Lastly, Notker s writing is a secondary source and Notker did not
know Charlemagne personally. Therefore, Notker s account is praising a king who he did not know,
but Charlemagne is remembered as an ideal ruler and Notker lists Charlemagne s accomplishments

  • 2. The Monster In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the creature is introduced to four readings that influenced his outlook on human life. The four books being Paradise Lost By John Milton,Plutarch s Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans By Plutarch,The Sorrows of Young Werther By Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Ruins of Empires by Constantin François de Volney . Knowing that these four works influenced the creature to be who he became, I would change them in hopes of him becoming good. In the story of Frankenstein, the Creature studies or listens to 4 books. Each book molded who he became and how he thought or felt about society. Bibliotherapy is used occasionally for psychiatric therapy or to help solve your personal problems. If his reading choices ... When the Creature finds the book, it fills his head with wild ideas. Such as, As I read, however, I applied much personally to my own feelings and condition (Shelley 114). This is explaining how he became the monster that he is portrayed as. Throughout Frankenstein, the monster is sad because he cannot read, write, or communicate with others, so when he finds the book collection he cannot wait to read every single one. When the monster kills Henry Clerval, he makes it seem like Henry tried to attempt suicide by drowning him. This is taken right out of Sorrows of Young Werther because of the boyfriend drowning himself. Another writing that was influential to Shelley s Frankenstein was Paradise Lost by John Milton. This is said to be the most influential piece of literature that the Creature was based on.Paradise Lost is an epic poem about a version of the creation story. In Frankenstein, the creature and Frankenstein meet on the top of Mont Blanc and the Creature starts to tell his life story from the time that he was abandoned. • 3. Essay on Jet Blue Jet Blue has an opportunity to remain cutting edge in the airline industry by continuing to be low cost and expanding carrier. A great market for Jet Blue to expand to would be towards the Caribbean s. As well as possibly lobbying Washington to lift travel sanctions in Cuba, which at one point was a major vacation getaway for Americans. This opportunity fits into Jet Blues current business model of short distance flights at a lower cost than the competition. Jet Blue is a shinning star in the gloomy airline industry. Jet Blue has been showing great earnings and growth since its incorporation in 2000. Jet Blue uses innovative strategies to further their success in a market, which has been showing nothing but losses across the board. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Along with reducing the amount of middlemen customers have to deal with, added to his reduced expense structure which in turn proved to be cost effective. David Neeleman originally worked for South West Airlines and helped increase there business, but wanted to venture out on his own. Neelemen experienced set backs because his prior employer made him sign a no compete contract for five years. During those five years Neeleman was able to complete a solid business plan, which would use South West Airlines business model but with better marketing strategies Jet Blue was built on a strong foundation with experienced and knowledgeable people making decisions. Neeleman felt that certain key employees needed to be put in place to have this organization grow the way it has. So a solid team was put in place and the machine has been oiled. In order for Jet Blue to have obtained such a significant market they needed unique marketing. Jet Blue approached and targeted specific markets which they serviced with certain marketing incentives. Jet Blue set up its main head quarters in New York s JFK which is one of the biggest airports in the world. This was a strategic plan due to the lack of domestic flights going in and out of JFK, that minimized there competition which allowed them to continue on a path which led them to there success. Through targeting specific markets and concentrating their efforts on those markets they gained a loyal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare and contrast The Echoing Green with The Schoolboy by Compare and contrast The Echoing Green with The Schoolboy by William Blake Both The Echoing Green and The Schoolboy are classed under the section, Songs of Innocence , which at first suggests that they will be of a similar nature. However this presumption is dispelled early on, as one examines the issues behind the often comparable wording. Many elements in The Schoolboy do echo those in The Echoing Green and visa versa, but the atmospheres of each poem that are presented are so different that it becomes difficult to see how two such contrasting pieces of work can unite in the same genre. The Echoing Green is one of Blake s most idyllic poems, as it is set in a pastoral and carefree atmosphere, which centres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using the image of a summer morn in the first stanza, Blake creates a tranquil and untainted atmosphere, and descriptions such as birds sing and the distant huntsman winds his horn add an auditory element in an almost identical way to the previous poem. However the serene scene does not continue into the second verse, where the tone changes and Blake describes how having to go to school ruins such a beautiful day: it drives all joy away . The use of the word drives is quite strong and terminates the flowing nature of the previous verse, and the repetition of a summer morn allows one to contrast the two verses. From hence forward, The Schoolboy continues with a fairly negative tone, switching from the first person, I drooping sit to a more philosophical stance towards the end, How shall we gather what griefs destroy? . The stoical conclusion I feel demonstrates the implications of education, and shows that, if buds are nipped , one not only damages childhood but also runs the risk of establishing a long term effect on the individual, later on in life. Both poems use time to illustrate the changing nature of the individuals, but even this is performed in very different ways. The increasing darkness of The Schoolboy could be seen as representational of the changing seasons, adding to the aspect of the natural world in the poem, especially as the final verses ... • 5. Essay On Veterans Ethics Over the last decade or so we have seen our country fail our Veterans on so many different levels. The U.S. Governments treatment of our Veterans has come under fire because so many of our Veterans are not being adequately taken care of. Some would say this is a mere oversight in our government, but to me it is a lack of ethics. Menzel defines Ethics as values and principles that guide right and wrong behavior. When we look at the landscape of our Government beginning with the Executive office we see a lack of leadership in my opinion. The President of the United States should be the biggest advocate for our Veterans. There is plenty of empty promises that are being made all while many of our Veterans are lacking adequate medical care or are struggling to keep a roof over their heads while suffering from issues that are related to war. Many veterans have to wait extended periods of time before they can receive care, most are making pennies compared to our elective officials whose interest are only in special interest groups who gives millions of dollars to them in campaign money. According to Legistorm members of Congress make $174,000 a year, the Speak of the House makes $223,000; this is five times and six times what the average veteran makes in our country. We rely on these individuals to make policies and laws to help people, especially our veterans. Why Is Aeschylus Called The Most Superior Greek Drama Aeschylus, one of the first Greek dramatists, was born between 525 524 BCE, during the period that the Athenian government was evolving from a tyranny to a democracy. Throughout his whole life, he would alternate between serving in the military and performing and writing dramas. Every year, Aeschylus would attend the Great Dionysia, a competition where three dramatists would perform their dramas or plays and would get ranked from first to third place. Out of his ninety plays, he won thirteen first place awards. Which means that he won about 42 awards because each tragedy entry consisted of four plays. He died at age 69 between 456 455 BCE. • 7. Sympathy In A Streetcar Named Desire Throughout the final scene of A Streetcar Named Desire Tennessee Williams evokes a resounding feeling of sympathy within the audience, through allowing them to see Blanche s fate before her which creates a conspiring atmosphere of mistrust and ambush. This is created by this scene directly following the most dramatic in which Blanche is raped by Stanley and Stella gives birth, creating a just as dramatic denouement. The first way in which Williams creates an understanding in the audience of what will happen to Blanche is through Blanche s shockingly apparent deterioration; of appearance and personality, and her mental instability, Shown in the line What s happened here? I want an explanation of what s happened here , suggesting to the audience her fear, panic and sudden lack of confidence. This is an astounding contrast to her domineering nature of scene ... Blanche s helplessness is reinforced as she is pushed back by her sister and Eunice whose domineering attitude over the conversation and planning taking place, allows the audience sympathy towards Stella although she has stated that she couldn t believe her story and go on living with Stanley holding no importance to the truth, likening her to her sister; the idea that the truth is of little importance compared to the magic they both chase. Williams accentuates this power change and thus understanding of Blanche s fate before she herself knows through the conspiring nature of Stella and Eunice in turn creating sympathy for Blanche and ... • 8. Liberal Party Ideology During the 2015 Canadian federal election campaign, Justin Trudeau s Liberal Party took policy positions that were furthest to the political left compared to the other two main parties, the Conservative Party and the New Democratic Party (NDP). In an effort to appeal to traditional liberal supporters as well as voters who traditionally identify with the NDP, the Liberal Party adopted a reform liberal economic agenda and social democratic policies. Conversely, Thomas Mulcair, the leader of the NDP, embraced a campaign platform to the right of the Liberals. In particular, the NDP s agenda blended neo liberal economic policies with moderate conservative social policies. Stephen Harper s Conservative Party adopted policies that were similar to the ideologies of the New Right, which embodies neo liberal economic policies and conservative social policies. This essay will argue that the ideological similarities between the Conservatives and the NDP changed the political landscape in the recent election as voters were left with only two distinct political ideologies to choose from instead of the traditional three. In this case, this was evident in their position on admitting a larger number of refugees over a shorter timeline. • 9. Bilingual Language Learners ( Ell ), And Students A. Introduction There are so many diverse student groups in the United States. Two that are really of interest to me are English language learners (ELL), and students in foster care. Though they have many similarities, they are also vastly different. A.1. Definition and Demographics ELL students are either students whose first language is not English or who were raised speaking another language in their home. ELL students made up about 9% of public school students in the United States during the 2014/2015 school year, which equals out to about 4.5 million students! Spanish is the number one first language of ELL students, making up about 77%. Arabic and Chinese are the next two most popular languages ELL students speak, but only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This all falls under linguicism. This discrimination based on language is not only a severe challenge for ELL students, but also incredibly unfair. As people who speak English as our first language it s easy to take advantage of that privilege, but we need to give those who do not speak English as their first language the same respect that we would want if we were learning another language in a surrounding that was foreign to us. A.3.a. Strategy for ELL Students Growing up in an incredibly diverse area, I completely overestimate the availability of ESL (English as a second language) and ELL teachers. Because all ELL students do not have access to such help, educators can do well to make a personal effort to reach out to their ELL students. By making a personal effort to connect with ELL students, educators can better understand how to help them get the most out of their education. Giving them special attention will not only help them succeed but also make them feel more comfortable and welcome. Educators could go above and beyond by making special copies of homework assignments for students that feature both English and the students first language. This way they will no doubt understand what is being asked of them, but also learn new words at the same time! Another way educators could show a personal effort could be by making time to work with the students outside of classroom time, further explaining anything that was taught ... Cultural Artifact with Hot Dry Noodles Culture is not only reflected in the performing arts or languages, but it is also more able to reflect on the food that people under different food cultural backgrounds, their eating habits and tastes are different. Every place in this world had one or more typical foods to show its culture. Wuhan, where I grew up, is famous not only of its historical sites, like Yellow Crane Tower and Guiyuan Tempe but also famous of its characteristic snacks, such as Hot Dry Noodle, Doupi and duck necks. In these special foods, Hot Dry Noodle is the most important one because it is not only good at taste, but it also can show the culture of Wuhan that this city contains enthusiasm, wisdom, gentleness, and perseverance. In order to prove thesis, I am going to discuss the history of Hot Dry Noodles, Hot Dry Noodles in Wuhan people lives, and the culture aspect of Hot Dry Noodles. A hawker named Bao Lee, sold jelly and noodles for living in Long Beach Street, Hankou. One day, the weather was unusually hot, and a lot of noodles were not sold out. Bao Lee was afraid that noodles would become rancid, so he cooled remaining noodles, and dried these noodles on board. • 13. John Brown Crimes John Brown s actions at Pottawatomie Creek and Harper s Ferry can be seen as acts of terrorism by a person or peoples opinion, but a closer study of modern and historic violent actions show he was a freedom fighter. Certainly, this is factual because there is no actual definition of terrorism, it is simply an opinion on someone s actions. Therefore, it is almost irrelevant for one be convicted a terrorist if no one can actually have a justified reasoning behind their choices. Some may say Brown s childhood had a major impact on some of his violent actions that occurred later on in his life. When he was very young, he suffered the loss of his mother. As a result it began to harvest a bit of rage in his heart that would soon turn into a never ending spiral of rage. It wasn t long after this loss that Brown witnessed a slave being beaten. It was that moment that Brown began to pursue his goal of ending slavery. Brown made many violent attacks through his long attempt to end slavery. The second video the class watched, showed video footage of the aftermath of some earthquakes that have happened in history. The video showed destruction of buildings, and how earthquakes can cause tsunamis and the destruction that tsunamis also cause. The point of this video was to show the students how important the engineering of building is, and got them to start thinking about their own bridges and how they can withstand an earthquake. We did not directly discuss bridges this week though, our focus was primarily on earthquakes. When we broke up into our teams, my team was trying to answer two specific questions; what are the effects of an earthquake? And can we build earthquake proof buildings. I worked with two boys in the class, Kendall and Sean to help answer these questions. • 18. Difference Between Art And Contemporary Art Christian Casas Rafael Hernandez LIT3400 The Everyday A typical way of relating social/political issues to art assumes that art represents the thing one way or another. But there can be a more interesting perspective, which is looking at the field of art as a place of work. Basically look at what it does not what it shows. Amid all other forms of art, fine art has been associated with post Fordist ideology. Post Fordism is a popular system of economically based on production, consumption and has been in most industrialized countries since the late 20th century. Contemporary art is not an out of this world discipline hidden away in some remote building. In fact, it s the opposite because it positions itself in the thick of things. It can function as a brand name without a brand feeding off the bits and pieces of social and political issues. Presently, contemporary art has grown apart from important hubs, which gives the artist a wider range of production and provides various opportunities for showcasing the work. In contrast, this has not always been the case. Artist in novels about portraitures are depicted as servants due to the flow of cash. Art should be functioning on its own without the need of an institutional backing in order to create separation between the artist and their work as well as what the work can do . Portraits appear as an object already existing in the world and about whose producer and the process of production not much (most often nothing) needs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Bohr model for the atom depicts a planetary like structure, with a positively charged nucleus in the center with small, negatively charged electrons rotating around in specific, fixed orbits at different distances from the nucleus. When an electron transitions from a higher orbital, where it is in its excited state, back down to a lower orbital where it is relaxed or in its ground state, it emits light. The emitted light is a result of the electron releasing the previously absorbed energy. It is possible to observe an electron in one state or another, however an electron never possesses the capability to be observed in between states. Transitions between states that are closer together, produce a light of lower energy transitions of a longer distance. A spectroscope is able to display the emitted light by presenting the bright interference patterns of the diverse wavelengths which make up the spectrum. By looking through the eyepiece, a spectrum will appear on either side of the slit the slit starts all of the light waves passing down the tube in phase so that they arrive at the slits in the diffraction grating at the same time. • 33. Impact Of Childhood On British Romantic Poetry The Impact of Childhood on British Romantic Poetry How did changing ideas in regard to childhood shape the newly developing Romantic style in poetry and literature? During the 19th century, the subject of childhood sparked debate among society (Metz). According to popular Enlightenment thinkers of the age, and a majority of society, youth had been considered as essentially just smaller versions of adults. That is to say, children were seen as young adults that simply lacked life experience, but were still mentally and physically capable of dealing with adult problems and responsibilities. This was eventually brought into question as the Industrial Revolution was set in full swing and working class children were sent off to make money for their families (Reynolds). People began to question the ethics of exploiting children as factory workers that had to be exposed to dangerous, physically taxing, and often traumatizing conditions. At the same time, a new literary movement was beginning to form. In reaction to the logic, reason, and lack of emotion brought on by the Enlightenment and Neoclassicism (which was prevalent in society and literature at the time), the Romantic era began. Romantic writers rejected the ideas of Enlightenment thinkers and favored emotion and imagination above strict logic and reason. As a result, many Romantic poets and writers began to question the idea of children and adults being functionally and emotionally equal to each other. This emerging idea ... This voice over narration stimulates the suspense of the narrative while providing the spectator with unrestricted information by revealing more insight than the characters know at this point. Emotional people are stereotypically known to overanalyze situations and create conflict with the reality of the situation. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, one can witness that the two central characters have difficulty when it comes to their thought processes of one another. An example of this is when the Creature is first introduced to Victor s younger brother, William, in the fields where the Creature was attempting to seek refuge. The Creature attempts to stop the boy with hopes of befriending him, when instead, the boy screams at the Creature, telling him he was the son of a Frankenstein. This triggers the Creature, recognizing the name an becoming enraged. He proceeds to kill the boy, with hopes this death will carry despair to [Frankenstein], and a thousand other miseries shall torment and destroy him, (Shelley 155). These emotions internalized in the Creature cause him to commit heinous acts in order to ruin the life of his nemesis. The negativity of the Creature demonstrates an even further rise in his emotions, giving way to a tension between the characters that is furthered as the text proceeds. Likewise, Victor Frankenstein allows his emotional senses to give way to a hatred of the Creature without even giving the Creature a chance. After seeing the hideous creation made by his own hands, Victor refrains from taking responsibility of the actions of the Creature, even when his conscious tells him it is his duty to. • 38. Comparison Of Angelas Ashes And Angela s Ashes Finally, both novels display the effects of living in these situations as well as the similar methods in which people cope with the hardships in life. Alcoholism affects characters in both novels, specifically Frank McCourt s father, Malachy, and Dickens tragic hero, Sydney Carton. In Angela s Ashes, one of the constant sources of their misfortunes is Malachy McCourt. Though he cares for his family, as evident in his strong relationship with his sons and love for their mother, he continuously drinks away the family s money for food and other basic necessities for life, spending long nights at pubs and coming home in the early morning. One night, Angela is fed up and orders Frank to go find his father at the pub and tell everyone, your father is drinking the money for the baby... there isn t a scrap of food in this house, not a lump of coal to start the fire, not a drop of milk for the baby s bottle (McCourt 183 184). At this point, Malachy s drinking is worsening and causing a great strain on the family, money wise as well as emotionally. Malachy is unable to change for his family as the alcohol has already taken over his life and he relies on it to cope, for example when his infant daughter passes away. In A Tale of Two Cities, Sydney Carton is also reliant on alcohol and spends a lot of time drunk, though he does not have a family or anyone to take care of. He drinks because he feels as though his life is already wasted and he loathes himself for it. One night, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
