Hip Hop Culture By Fernando Orejuela Summary
This paper seeks to examine the different dimensions of hip hop, and what the hip hop culture means
to different people. After reading Fernando Orejuela s Rap and Hip Hop Culture, one would get a
better understanding of the various dimensions of the hip hop culture. For instance, there is a cultural
dimension that has played a tremendous role in the hip hop culture. Many of the modern styles of
dancing and music have come from traditions that were passed down. According to Orejuela, this is in
part because of slavery (Orejuela, 5). Hip hop culture has its roots in the spread of African and Latino
peoples from their original homes to the Americas , states Orejuela (Orejuela, 5). Orejuela goes on to
later discuss exactly how their customs have influenced this hip hop culture. An example of this is
when Orejuela states, Many influences, from Africa and Europe, have been combined to form a
number of popular dance forms that themselves can be seen as ancestors of b boying and
breakdancing (Orejuela, 26). From this, it is clear that culture is of importance in hip hop. Although
this is true, there are also other dimensions that have influenced this culture as well.
Another dimension of the hip hop culture discussed in Orejuela s book, is the recreational dimension.
According to Orejuela, this dimension of hip hop was influenced by many street gangs. Orejuela goes
into extensive detail on the subject of gangs throughout the early years of hip hop. Much of his
discussion focused

Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee and
Atticus Finch is head of the throne over Joe Gargery of Great Expectations and Chlomo Wiesel of
Night. I believe that Atticus Finch is an astoundingly well adjusted father for many reasons. First of
all, he was a single parent that managed to make time for Jem and Scout, his two children. He is also a
courageous, generous, forgiving, and honest man. Atticus Finch is a single parent working an
exceptionally hard job to bring in enough income to pay his maid and supply the needs for his
children. He is away most of the day at the courthouse defending his clients. Although his job
sometimes required long hours, he still made time to read to his daughter at bedtime and pass a ball
with his son. Therefore, Atticus Finch of To Kill a Mockingbird is the better father over Joe Gargery of
Great Expectations and Chlomo Wiesel of Night because of his courageousness, generosity,
forgiveness, and honesty.
Atticus shows true courage by trying every way to help others who were in the need of it. First of all,
it is courageous of Atticus to take the Tom Robinson case. Even his own family disagreed of taking
the case because of the bias. He takes many risks when taking the Tom Robinson case. He risks the
chance of critization by the people that live in the Maycomb County. Mrs. Dubose criticizes him when
she said, Atticus is a Nigger lover! (100). With many prejudice people living in Maycomb County
Atticus also risks the chance of not being re elected for legislature. Secondly, it is

Another Beautiful Day Interrupted
The sun is beaming down on I and coppers face as we take our daily walk, on the ocean shore in
Florida. The sun is a bright yellow surrounded with a blue sky, filled with clouds. The sand is
stretched alongside I and cooper; white and clear. Only my foot prints and coopers paw prints left
behind. The sand is very soft. My feet and coopers paws sink into it with every step. The salty ocean
air burns our noses. The waves sparkle and glitter from the sun beaming down on it. The ocean is a
dark blue color with white caps as far as we can see. The waves our small. Go get it Copper! I yell
throwing the stick into the the ocean. Cooper is a Labrador,he s been part of the family for 7 years
now. Cooper catches my eyes , he s holding something that is shiny. I can t tell what it is with the sun
in my eyes. It s most likely a can he s been bringing them back to shore lately. Come on boy! I yell out
to him, trying to encourage him to swim faster. I can now see what Cooper is holding , I was right it s
a can. For some reason I m curious to find out whats in the can. As he s a few feet away from shore, I
run to the edge of the water, the wind is blowing water across my ankles. Which you got Cooper? I
ask him as he looses grip of the can, letting it fall on the sand. Coopers barking as I pick up the can.
The cans label reads Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn . I straggle to open the can led It s sealed shut
Cooper we have to wait until we get home to open it. Water is dripping of

Structured Work System
The research involved a primary and a secondary aim which were evaluated in two studies. The
primary aim of the study focused on structured teaching and its effects on 4 child behaviors including,
engagement, task completion, stereotypic behavior, and escape attempts in preschoolers with
disabilities. The secondary aim was to evaluate how graduated guidance was used in teaching the
children to use the structured work systems. There were a total of three preschool age participants with
developmental disabilities involved. In the first study two participants engaged in three tasks in both a
withdrawal design and in a structured work system. In the second study one participant engaged in

CHildren program (TEACCH) and its model. It is stated that most of the TEACCH model has been
explored as a comprehensive program and some of its practices and individual components have
undergone little research. The two components that have been experimentally tested are visual activity
schedules and structured work systems. The authors build a research foundation by introducing
previous research on structured teaching. In a study conducted by MacDuff, Krantz, and McClannahan
in 1993 on structured work systems, demonstrated increased engagement and decreased disruptive
behaviors when utilizing visual schedules. The authors mention that several investigators have
received similar, positive results when testing the advantages of structured learning. A study
conducted by Hume and Odom in 2007 was detailed as well. Hume and Odom s study used a
withdrawal design to examine the effects of individual work systems on on task behaviors, task
completion, number of play materials used, and reduction of teacher prompts. They concluded that
individuals with autism could benefit from individual work systems. Finally, the authors state their
purpose of replicating Hume and Odoms s study in hopes of expanding what is known of structured

The Art Of The Mona Lisa
The Mona Lisa is a painting done by Leonardo Da Vinci within the years of 1503 and 1519, done in
Florence Italy. The subject in the painting was Francesco del Gioconda s wife, and it took four years
for Leonardo to paint. The Mona Lisa painting depicts a woman seated in front of a vast mountainous
landscape with a mysterious smile and aura. The eyes have a luster and watery sheen, as well as the
skin, has shades and tints. The nose and eyebrows are shaped with such precision that only a master
painter can capture. Many spectators that look at the Mona Lisa claim that they see a beating pulse in
her throat. The Mona Lisa exhibits to the public Leonardo Da Vinci s idea of the cosmic link
connecting humanity and nature.

Leonardo Da Vinci created this piece to show the Renaissance period at its peak.
When the public eye saw this piece they said it was an epic demonstration of the naturalism at that
time. The Mona Lisa was a glorious representation of the talent that humans possessed.
It made the people think and it benefitted people s minds because the painting left people asking
questions. This painting was created during a very excellent time for art, and since the
Mona Lisa was debatably the best painting of that time, that made the painting very famous. The
Mona Lisa was one of the most

glorious works of the naturalism period and the Renaissance.
The Mona Lisa looks so natural and so familiar, that we forget how innovative the painting was at the
beginning of the sixteenth century.
Louvre Curator Jean Pierre Cuzin
The public eye also liked it because it was very realistic and divine and almost inhuman . Since this
piece was painted during the Humanism phase of the Renaissance it was created to go along with that
period. Mentioned earlier in the text was

I Am A Third Generation American
Born to Peggy and Edward Garcia on October 4th 1984, I am a third generation American. My
grandfather was born in Mexico and my father was born in New Mexico, while I was born at Fort
Lewis Washington, I am a Soldiers Son. While growing up my father was stationed at various bases
throughout the United States and I was lucky enough to tag along. From an early age I was always
told to do better and more than those who came before me by my mother. From the age of two till I
was five I lived in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This is where I gained my southern draw (which still
comes out if I happen to be speaking to someone else who has one). At the age of six to nine I had the
opportunity to live in Anchorage, Alaska. This is where I learned to want to always be outside
exploring or building things. At the age of 10 my father was stationed to Fort Hood, Texas where I
followed suit. Texas would eventually be where I would call home. I went to middle school at Smith
Middle School and High School at Ellison High School. I graduated Ellison High School in 2002 and
worked various jobs from a warehouse manager to a janitor. While some of the management jobs paid
well they did not have any sense of fulfillment or pride. Just after graduating High School I began to
date my now wife Marissa. We had met at a BBQ that one of my fathers soldiers had been throwing.
Both her father and my father were in the same unit together. I moved from Fort Hood to Fort

Dimmesdale Forgiven In The Scarlet Letter
Is dimmesdale forgiven? To me I do not think dimmesdale is forgiven for everything he has done in
his lifetime. In my eyes dimmesdale should not be forgiven for what he has done. Everything
dimmesdale has done have been bad sins which would push him farther and farther away from God. If
he is pushed far away from God is less likely for him to be forgiven. There are many reasons I don t
think he is forgiven. The first reason I think he isn t forgiven is for preaching about something wrong
and then doing what s bad. The society they were in thought cheating on someone was almost worse
than murder. Hester and dimmesdale did a major sin and then lied about it to the whole town. Else you

Essay on The Fifth Child
The Fifth Child
The word quot;monster quot; has many definitions. Some define it as a creature having a frightening
or strange appearance. It is also defined as one that inspires horror or disgust. Ben certainly fits into all
of these categories.
He was different right from pregnancy. He looks extremely frightening, almost like a Neanderthal.
Ben is an outcast even in an institution for quot;nature s mistakes. quot; From the moment Harriet
became pregnant it was apparent to her that something was obviously wrong. She loved having
children and had planned on a total of eight or perhaps even ten. However, something was different
this time.
Early in the pregnancy, she began feeling ill. She had been keeping ... Show more content on

48) Ben was eleven pounds at birth.
None of the other children were more than seven. He was heavy shouldered and hunched over. His
forehead sloped from his eyebrows to his crown. Even his hair pattern was erratic. His hands were
thick and heavy and contained pads of muscle. His piercing eyes were greeny yellow in nature and
focused on Harriet from the moment he was born. quot;He s like a troll, or a goblin or something.
quot; said Harriet. (p. 49) Ben actually resembled a Neanderthal!
Although Harriet was apprehensive, David, as well as the entire family, decided it was best if they put
Ben into an institution. A small black van came one morning to take Ben away. This institution was
not a place that prepared children to become part of society. It was a horrific place that kept all their
patients completely drugged and starved them until they eventually died. There were all types of
quot;mistakes quot; here. Numerous cots engrossed the hallways containing children whose
appearances were hideous at best. One child lacked the back of his skull, exposing his brain. Another
was literally split in two.
Amongst these terrible tragedies, Ben still managed to stick out. He was so incredibly strong that he
warranted his own room, more sedatives than any other child had ever received, and had to remain in
a strait jacket 24 hours a day.
quot;He s so strong I ve never seen anything like it. quot; Said the girl at the institution. (p. 83)
As you can see, Ben is no ordinary

Why Won t Those Gates Break Down
Why won t those gates break down? I m losing too many soldiers. Whined General Zhousbek,
obviously frustrated and angered by his losses. The majority of his goblin army wore leather armor
and unfortunately, it did not shield them from the Parsis archers arrows.
Lady Sara reassured General Zhousbek with some welcome information. Don t worry, General, while
we are hammering at their gates, Ace will be killing their King Teravan.
We need different equipment. Stated General Zhousbek who took no comfort from her answer.
Sara pointed out that they allowed him to take armor from Nightbird s armory. General Zhousbek
informed Sara that he had visited the armory and took everything he could, but that only dressed only

Realizing this supplied the perfect distraction, he continued his progress, easily jumping from rooftop
to rooftop through the city, unobserved by the people below, to the palace district. Nearing the palace,
he began encountering soldiers stationed upon the roofs and decided to return to the streets where he
could blend in with the frantic crowds more than a lone individual traveling by rooftop. When he
reached the palace gates, he slipped away from the crowd and hid behind a rain barrel of the building
directly across from the gates. He observed two armor clad guards armed with spears standing just
inside and miraculously, had not discovered him since they were all too busy assisting the patrol that
had just come through the gate, its wagons filled with hot steaming cauldrons on their way to help
with the assault on the city s main gate, to notice him. He made his move when the street had finally
cleared and openly approached the two guards. When the guard saw him, he barked out, Halt. No
civilians allowed beyond this point, only soldiers of Parsis.
Ace through back his hood and drew his sword. The guard jabbed at him with his spear, deflecting it
away easily with his blade, while his fellow guard shouted for assistance but no one came. The

Alcohol and tobacco are the most widely used psychoactive drugs in Canada, and cause by far the
greatest number of harms and costs to the population. The most widely used illicit drug is marijuana,
which causes relatively little harm for its level of use. By far the most direct harms from licit and
illicit drugs occur in high risk populations such as injectors, street youth, the inner city poor, and
Natives (Diane, Riley, N.d, 1998). In 2009, Canadians used a wide range of substances. These
included alcohol (77%), tobacco (17%), cannabis (25%) among youth aged 15 to 24 and (10%) among

Starting in the 1970s, the Netherlands left on an even minded damage diminishment way to deal with
medications that has brought about a framework in which need is given to social insurance and
counteractive action while, at the same time, solid authorization measures are coordinated against
sorted out wrongdoing. The Netherlands experience with drugs in the 19th century was in some ways
unique. Although it was certainly not a drug free nation, it differed from the United States and other
Western European nations in that it did not have the problem of addicted soldiers and there was little
scientific research or public concern regarding addiction. Two key factors shaped the evolution of the
Dutch policy on drugs during this period: the development of the modern medical profession, and the
immense profitability of Dutch colonial drug operations (Benjamin, Dolin, 2001). By the early 20th
century, the Netherlands was the world s largest cocaine producer; huge profits were made first from
opium leases the practice by which the government leased the right to sell opium to local colonial
populations and then later via state monopoly on the sale of opium (Benjamin, Dolin, 2001). The
Dutch government established a Working Party on Drugs, which came to be known as the Baan
Commission. Its recommendations largely determined the course of the Netherlands drug policy and
resulted in an overhaul of the Opium Act in 1976

Stephen Crane Naturalism Essay
My interpretation of Crane s poem, the deeds people tell of war only tell that of the battles, the
hardship, no one hears about the angels on the battlefield or the interactions that happen outside of
battle. He sees the romantic view, and yet the naturalistic view at the same time. Though he leans
more in the direction of romanticism, he does include some naturalism in his writing. For example,
from The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane, he states, He developed the acute exacerbation of
a pestered animal, a well meaning cow worried by dogs. Represents a naturalistic state of mind, but
nevertheless, he mostly relies on romanticism. Naturalism, nature doesn t care. It s every animal for
themselves. As for the Romantic side of things, from The Veteran by Stephen Crane, he writes, When
the roof fell in, a great funnel of smoke swarmed toward the sky, as if the old man s mighty spirit,
released from its body a little bottle had swelled like the genie of fable. ... Show more content on

For example, from The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane, expecting to see the steamy
approach of his death... They were going to look at war, the red animal war, the blood swollen god.

romantics view everything in that way. Another Romantic statement from The Red Badge of Courage,

Iqp Reflection
Course History International and Global Studies INTL1100 This is one of the best classes to take to
prepare for the IQP, which is why I took it. I have Professor Hansen, and he was great to have because
he is very knowledgeable in the IQP processes. I learned about different cultures, governments,
finances, and most importantly, how to learn a society, and make beneficial changes to it. This skill
was learned through the global competency project. In this project, I participated in group work,
analyzed analytical data about counties poverty, heath issues, and education, and presented our
findings on a poster. This class also required me to attend the global fair as a freshman. I was a little
scared going, because I was a little freshman, wandering around not knowing what to do. But it was
great practice for my sophomore year, where I engaged in conversation with past participants at the
IQP locations. International Studies very relevant to and off campus IQP because it taught me that
countries are very different, and I need to be ready to adapt to a new lifestyle, but most importantly,
have fun doing it. Intermediate Mechanics PH2201 Intermediate Mechanics has been the most
challenging class I have taken at WPI. This prompted lots of teamwork. As a team, we read the
textbook, learned how to do the problems, spent many nights working late, and ended up succeeding
in the class. I learned more about teamwork than I thought from this class. It is important to work

mycoinsecticides properties. Beauveria bassiana (Bb) and Beauveria brongniarti are used to control
insect pests (5). Beauveria bassiana is a filamentous fungus which belongs to the class Deuteromycete,

The Social and Economic Changes Made by the Communists in China in 1949
On his ascension to power in China in 1949, Chairman Mao said: The People s Republic of China will
strive for independence, democracy, peace, unity, prosperity and strength. Little did Mao know it
would be nine years, and many reforms later that China would still be striving for those things.
Mao would start a whole series of reforms aimed to appease and change the public, starting with the
Marriage Law. The Marriage Law stated that women had to be 18 years and men 20 years in order to
marry; thus preventing the marriage of children which had gone on for years before Communist rule.

In line with advances in farming, the Communists had to make changes in the economy so that it
could be sustained. The first major change the Communists made in this field was to take major banks,
railways and a proportion of heavy industry back into public control. All the profits were taken from
private owners and put into the State Treasury. In 1951, A People s Bank was opened to replace
private banks, and to remove inflation (such inflation that had been seen sky rocketing before the
Communists came to power). In addition, as farmers were producing more grain, to avoid food
shortages they had to sell the Government 15 20% of their produce at a low price.
China needed investment to fund their ever growing country s needs. Mao went to the USSR to
receive aid. Unfortunately, China received just $300M but more importantly a vital 10,100 engineers
to fund their first five year plan. China used this money to develop heavy industry, which was
necessary to save the country from future turmoil. 700 new production plants helped China to double
their output of coal, oil and cement and quadruple the amount of pig iron, steel and fertilizer produced.
These types of advances had never been seen before in China, yet they did not come without a cost.

National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey
It is important to gather data regarding the risk, number or people affected and morality pertaining to
cardiovascular disease. Different surveillance methods are used to obtain reporting information
regarding CVD. This information is beneficial to physicians, health care providers, and people in the
community. It provides data that can be used to establish prevalence in different categories. It provides
evidence and allows for issues to be prioritized. This is extremely important because different nations,

Lecklider s study had school administrators observe the use of technology by staff and students, and
then categorize the technological use as either Type 1 or Type 2. The results showed that technology
use in the schools was significantly skewed to the use of Type 1 technology. Lecklider states that,
Type 1 use of technology was observed as a daily occurrence by 89% of participants...only 22% of
participants observed students using one or more Type 2 technologies on a daily basis during school
(Lecklider, 2009). In an age where the Type 2 technologies are in the hands of our students outside of
school, it is puzzling to see that those technologies are not being used inside of the school. Many of
the Type 2 technologies are present in the schools in Saskatchewan and Canada, but it is unlikely that
if the study were conducted here that the results would be significantly different. The technology is
present, but there seem to be barriers in place that are preventing a transition from the educational
practices of the past century to the ones of the current century.
One way to ensure that this transition can happen is to consider technological integration as a
component of all the work we do in schools, including technology use that supports increased student
learning. The goal of embedding high levels of technology into instructional practice can be met if all
of the educational stakeholders

Multiculturalism Is The Preservation Of Different Cultures...
Multiculturalism is the preservation of different cultures or cultural identities within a unified society,
as a state or nation (Dictionary.com, 2013). Canada is a country full of many different ethnicities and
cultures, but even though Canada is housing them, it s just not working. Problems in multiculturalism
are most prominent in three areas, the communities, the schools and the workforce. Multiculturalism
in the communities are facing struggle because of the cities appeal to new immigrants and because of
the segregation in ethnic enclaves. Multiculturalism in the schools is evident when unfair religious
accommodations are made and when schools are stereotyped based on the racial majority. The
workforce faces problems in multiculturalism because of the employers employing visible minorities
which creates segregation and because many immigrants credentials are being looked over and given
worse positions. Multiculturalism is not working in Canada based on the discrimination, stereotypes
and segregation evident in the communities, schools and the workforce. Canada accepts roughly
250,000 immigrants each year (Press, 2008), yet over half of the immigrants choose to live in one of
Canada s three major cities; Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Studies found that people from the
Middle East and Asia are more likely to live in urban areas while people from Europe are more likely
to live in rural areas. This raises many problems, since the top 3 sources of immigration to

Postoperative Pain And Anxiety Essay
Analyzing the Effect of Music on Postoperative Pain and Anxiety
The effect of music on postoperative pain and anxiety was studied on an orthopedic unit in a central
Florida hospital (Allred, Byers, Sole, 2010). The authors clearly identified the problem many total
knee arthroplasty patients experience after surgery is moderate to severe postoperative pain and
increased anxiety. Throughout the introduction of the study, it was stressed the importance and need
for this research to be conducted. The authors discussed the effects of inadequately treated pain and
how health care professionals, including nursing, should make it a priority in a patient s treatment plan
(Allred et al., 2010). Several references were provided supporting the issue ... Show more content on

The researchers included both a hypothesis and research questions. They stated a hypothesis, however
it is a research hypothesis versus a null hypothesis. A research hypothesis explains there is correlation
between two or more variables. A null hypothesis is a classification of hypotheses that states there is
no connection between the independent and dependent variables. Statistical testing is performed to
determine whether the statement is acceptable or not. Whereas the research question is an analysis
statement detailing the variables and population of the specified research study (Adams, 2015). The
hypothesis, the authors were hoping to prove, was whether the use of music would reduce pain and
anxiety in postoperative pain in a particular patient population during a defined time frame (Allred et
al., 2010). An example of a null hypothesis for this study would state music would have no effect on
postoperative pain in a particular patient population during a defined time frame. There were four
research questions the researchers attempted to answer. Three of the four questioned the effect of
music on the patient s pain, anxiety, and physiologic parameters. However the fourth question
pertained to the impact of music on the amount of opioids taken from the beginning of the intervention
until six hours later (Allred et al., 2010). The clinicians had not mentioned this component of the study

List Of Psychic Abilities

Psychic Abilities
Throughout the course of history, there have been many psychic occurrences. Some people talk about
having psychic powers or psychic abilities, such as having a sixth sense. A sixth sense is a sense that is
beyond the five physical senses touching, seeing, smelling, hearing and tasting. The five senses are so
common, most people do not even notice they are using them. A sixth sense is often referred to as a
metaphysical ability, so in its most essential form, psychic power is knowing or seeing the future
before it happens. Although science has proven billions of facts, and has not definitively proven its
existence, that does not mean that it is not existent. There are many different types of psychic abilities.
Some abilities that have been reported in the past are Clairaudience, Telekinesis, Mediums, and
Psychic Surgeons. While science has been negating psychic abilities throughout history, there have
been several reported unexplainable events of these psychic powers.
Someone who is Clairaudient is able to hear events occurring at long distances, in the physical world,
and events occurring in other dimensions. On of the most common mental phenomena, which already
attained some prominence in the mesmeric movement of the preceding half century, was clairvoyance.
(Randi 338.) Clairaudient people receive messages in thought form from another frequency or realm.
It is considered a form of channeling.

Persuasive Essay On Zoos
Introductory paragraph:
Introductory paragraph: Did you know that zoos kill 5000 healthy animals a year in Europe its self.
Society today has made it their utmost priority to entertain the crowd that even torturing animals,
snatching them away from their families, and forgetting about their feelings means nothing. Zoos do
not give the warm and comforting environment that animals once used to have. These animals feel
depressed, miserable, and tortured, but are forced to pretend to smile and play in front of the crowd.
Zoos should definitely not be perceived as a place for entertainment for the reason that they deprive
animals of natural habitat, harm animals mentally, and damage them physically. Zoos should be
forbidden as they bring a lot of life threatening harms to animals. ... Show more content on

The same study also found out that Tigers and lions have around 18,000 times less space in zoos than
they would in the wild and Polar bears have well over one million times less space.
Elaboration:
These animals are not experiencing the feeling of living in an open natural place, although zoos make
every effort to expand, it is still not enough to compare with the open vast wild where animals once
used to live. For example In the wild elephants walk about 30 miles a day in herds, in zoos they don t
get enough space for their 30 mile walks and only get a couple of other elephants to be with. This is
unnatural and unfair.
Evidence:
Zoo programs such as (AZA) and (SSP) help conserve endangered species; they capture the animals,
breed them, and then let them

New Hampshire Republican Primary Election
On September 9, 2014, three individuals voted in the New Hampshire Republican primary election.
Leon Rideout, a candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives, proudly photographed
his ballot, indicating that he had voted for himself, and posted it to twitter. Brandon Ross, another
candidate for a place in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, also took a picture of his
marked ballot, a memento he would post as a challenge to Attorney General s Office. Finally, Andrew
Langlois, a New Hampshire voter, posted a picture of his vote, in which he demonstrated his distaste
for the Republican field by writing in the name of his deceased dog. Each individual was promptly
informed that he was being investigated for posting a picture of his ballot on social media, a violation
of New Hampshire s recent amendment to section 359:35, I of the New Hampshire Revised Statutes,
prohibition shall include taking a digital image or photograph of his or her marked ballot and
distributing or sharing the image via social media or by any other means (RSN § 359:35, I). Violating
the statute could result in a fine of up to $1,000 (Hannon). As a result, the American Civil Liberties
Union filed a lawsuit against the state of New Hampshire on behalf of the three plaintiffs described
above. New Hampshire claims that the new law helps to maintain voter integrity by preventing vote
buying or voter coercion. The ACLU, however, looks upon the new legislation as a clear restriction on

The Metaphors Of Characters In King Lear By William...
Good my lord,
You have begot me, bred me, loved me.
I return those duties back as are right fit:
Obey you, love you, and most honor you.
Why have my sisters husbands if they say
They love you all? Happy, when I shall wed,
That lord whose hand must take my plight shall carry
Half my love with him, half my care and duty.
Sure, I shall never marry like my sisters,
To love my father all.
(1.1.95 103)
This quote is coming from Cordelia in the first scene of the first act. Lear has just called his three
daughters in and is dividing up his kingdom. The daughters are telling Lear how much they love him
in order to influence the decision on dividing the kingdom. Regan and Goneril both lie and say that
they love him more than words can express but Cordelia doesn t lie and tells the truth. In this quote,
she says, Lear you have raised me and loved me and I m returning the favor. I love you just as I
should, I obey you, I love you and I honor you. Hopefully, when I get married I will give you my
husband and half of my love. This quote is showing that in King Lear, Shakespeare uses characters to
represent something greater. In the story, there are a few main characters that are big metaphors one
being King Lear representing madness and insanity. A second being Goneril representing greed and
lastly, Gloucester used to show the metaphors of people not opening their eyes to what s actually
going on. All these metaphors have an important lesson to them that can be applied into the

The Termination Of Abortion In The United States
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Everyone may or may not agree with abortion. Abortion
has been ongoing for many centuries and throughout many different cultures. In 1803 Great Britain
passed the first laws for anti abortion. By 1880 abortions were mostly illegal in the United States
unless it was to save the mother s life. Present day abortion is perfectly legal. Before woman could
pay for skilled, licensed doctors for an abortion they would go to other countries or to back alleys to
perform the cheapest easiest abortion. Many doctors in the United States rejected females who could
not pay $1000 for abortion.
Many people argue that abortion is murder because people believe that life is given at conception and

time and also have attained a level at which they could be managed with the much less challenges
achievable and also at the most lucrative extent; probably the most wide spread approaches of weeds

The mulching calls for reducing the quantity of lighting that reaches the weeds, while mowing and

Constitutional Amendments, Bangladesh
CONSTITUTION The fundamental law, written or unwritten, that establishes the character of a

sovereign powers. A legislative charter by which a government or group derives its authority to act.

REPUBLIC OF BANGLADESH AMENDMENTS CONSEQUENCES The original Constitution of
Bangladesh introduced a parliamentary form of government with the President as its constitutional
head. It provides a responsible executive, a non sovereign legislature and an independent judiciary
with appropriate separation of powers, and checks and balances among them. The supreme law of
Bangladesh, the Constitution, confers only limited law making competence on Parliament. Parliament
does not possess any intrinsic law making power, which derives from the constitution. The parliament
cannot make any law in contravention with the provisions of the constitution. The Constitution
embodies the principle of ministerial responsibility, both individual and collective, to the parliament

with a parliamentary form of democracy, derailed afterwards from the fundamental aspiration of
democratic governance by introducing one party political system with an all powerful head of the state

What Is The Theme Of The Golden Lily By Gold Sartin
The devious plot line jumped back and forth in time as to portray the tumultuous era of Malaysia s
independence after World War Two. In the novel, different factions vied for control of this newly
independent country including communist insurgents, British settlers, Malaysian and the Chinese
ethnicities. The communists wanted to establish a communist regime while the Chinese folks wanted
to preserve their economic gains. The power struggle happens under the eyes of two former imperialist
occupying forces: the Japanese and British. This plot has another added layer: imperial Japan planned
to strip and loot the former colonies of their precious resources and wealth, a plan called Golden Lily.
Tatsuji found out this plan while doing the artistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Was he really stripped from his position as the Emperor s private gardener or was he given a special
mission to ensure the success of the mysterious Golden Lily s plan? The question is left up to the
readers to decide. In the novel the author only provides the facts through different characters action
such as Tatsuji s research on the Golden Lily plan. Was the tattoo on Yun Ling a map of the
concentration s camp? Metaphorically it may also represent the mark of the past and the tumultuous
Japanese occupation. Is his disappearance a sign of revolt in the face of Japanese atrocities or an
attempt to destroy the traces of Japanese atrocities perpetuated in the name of the emperor? Like a
boulder, the reader can only see the visible surface of his personality. Yun Ling mentions: he turned to
me, touching the side of his head lightly. At that moment it struck me that he was similar to the
boulders on which we had spent the entire morning working. Only a small portion was revealed to the
world; the rest was buried deep within, hidden from view. He is the picture of an ideal spy: he is one
of the main characters in the novel but we don t see his true personality; he remains a shadow like
those in Plato s cave. Is it a sign of denying the visible collective guilt? This novel may be the
antithesis of Ruth Ozeki s work A Tale for the Time Being when Ozeki tries to explain or show the

State, Political Economy And Governance
STATE, POLITICAL ECONOMY AND GOVERNANCE ASSIGNMENT WORK Submitted by:
Mohit kumar M.A. (P), SOCW10137 QUESTION: encountering state and citizenship in your
everyday life . ANSWER: Definitions of State: Many scholars have defined state in various ways.
Even today modern day scholars attempt to define state taking into account its modern functions. In
4th century B.C. Aristotle, who is regarded as `Father of Political Science‟ had defined state.
According to him, state is a union of families and villages having for its end a perfect and self
sufficing life, by which we mean a happy and honourable life. According to some scholars, this
definition is so comprehensive that it can hardly be improved upon. Aristotle‟s definition
communicates the primary objectives of the state however we must study some more definitions of the
State. Holland: State is a Politically organized people of a definite territory. Prof Woodrow Wilson,
`State is a People organized for law within a definite territory.‟Though these two definitions

My Beliefs Of Friends
Choose your friends wisely they will make or break you. (azquotes) People believe that friends are the
people that you grow up with, or who you get close to in school and sports. They are also the people
that you hang out with, have some of the best times of your life when you are around them, and they
are the ones that you tell anything to when you need support that relatives just cannot give you in
certain situations. Along with everything else that they do, they are also responsible for helping shape
who you choose to be. I originally believed that friendship could have been these things as well as the
belief that friends would never betray you. I trusted in my own beliefs because I saw how my parents
kept in contact with all their closest friends they had when growing up. But my views on friendship,
future and past, changed when I witnessed two of my friends argue, fight, and hurt one another. My
friends Stefan and Austin began fighting around the last two years of high school due to the fact
Stefan started distancing himself from all of us whenever we wanted to get together after school and
hang out. The reason behind him not wanting to hang out very often after school was because he had
just gotten a girlfriend, and he wanted to put almost all his focus on her whenever he was not in
school. This began to cause tension between him and Austin because whenever they made plans,
Stefan would end up not following through with them. This caused Austin to feel angry, and

Leadership Is The Best Course Of Action For Leadership
Leadership is a complex subject, but for our purposes can be defined as the act of one person
influencing another person or group of people towards a common purpose that is beneficial for both
the leader and their followers. Many approaches have been taken by academics in attempting to
understand what leadership is at its core. Useful information has been unearthed by studying
leadership qualities in individuals and by studying the dynamic between leader and follower.
However, the abstractness of these studies left researches at somewhat of a loss for practical and
relevant information, that is until research began on the observable behavior of leaders. The Style
Approach is a useful way to look at the leader follower relationship because it incorporates elements
of behaviorist psychology and applies them to the study leadership as a phenomenon. The goal of this
essay is to use observable behavior in the context of the Leadership Grid to determine the best course
of action for leadership in any scenario.
Findings on Leadership via the Style Approach The Style Approach differs from other ways of
understanding leadership in that it is focused on the here and now rather than traits or tendencies
which are more difficult to quantify. This approach allows room for the subject of a study to change
over time, rather than being rigidly casted as something because they displayed certain characteristics
at a certain time. It also eliminates the idea that a leader depends upon

Fear In Beowulf
The Ultimate Emotion Fear is the ultimate emotion because it is both mankind s greatest strength and
greatest flaw. It gives us reason, but can also be irrational. If one can surpass their fears, it can reward
them greatly. Robinson Crusoe, by Daniel Defoe, follows a life of an adventurer from a young age and
his story of traveling the world. Robinson, the main character, gets into many dangerous situations,
from being enslaved by pirates, to being shipwrecked and being stuck on a deserted island. Robinson
has to conquer many fears. Another story that fear is prevalent in is Beowulf, which follows the story
of a supernatural human, Beowulf, who fights multiple monsters that no mortal could defeat. Lastly,
fear is prevalent in The Wife ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theme is given in short and repetitive bits. Additionally, Defoe shows this in the way he reacts to
seeing the footprint on the beach. He fears that first it is the devil, but then fears what is the truth, that
there are cannibals on the island. He ends up overcoming that by thinking to himself I do not mean,
that I am entertain d by any Fear of their Number; for as they were naked, unarm d Wretches, tis
certain I was superior to them (Defoe 232). He uses logic to get over the fear of the cannibals,
realizing he should not be afraid because they do not have any guns and though they have the numbers
they are not immensely intelligent. In Beowulf, the plot development is in one big umbrella and then
separated into three, in each battle. In the third part of the plot development of the theme is when
Beowulf fights the dragon. Wiglaf, one of Beowulf s followers, is overcome with fear when he sees
the dragon and needs to fight it, so he proceeds to run away. However; when Beowulf needs him, he
faces his fear and eventually defeats the dragon. As Beowulf is dying for his bravery Wiglaf is
awarded his kingdom, once again proving that if one faces their fears they can secure the benefits.
What I leave, Wiglaf, lead my people, Help them, my time is gone. (Beowulf l. 811 812). In the Wife
of Bath s Tale the theme is derived from a plot development as well, but only a single event makes it
that

  • 2. Hip Hop Culture By Fernando Orejuela Summary This paper seeks to examine the different dimensions of hip hop, and what the hip hop culture means to different people. After reading Fernando Orejuela s Rap and Hip Hop Culture, one would get a better understanding of the various dimensions of the hip hop culture. For instance, there is a cultural dimension that has played a tremendous role in the hip hop culture. Many of the modern styles of dancing and music have come from traditions that were passed down. According to Orejuela, this is in part because of slavery (Orejuela, 5). Hip hop culture has its roots in the spread of African and Latino peoples from their original homes to the Americas , states Orejuela (Orejuela, 5). Orejuela goes on to later discuss exactly how their customs have influenced this hip hop culture. An example of this is when Orejuela states, Many influences, from Africa and Europe, have been combined to form a number of popular dance forms that themselves can be seen as ancestors of b boying and breakdancing (Orejuela, 26). From this, it is clear that culture is of importance in hip hop. Although this is true, there are also other dimensions that have influenced this culture as well. Another dimension of the hip hop culture discussed in Orejuela s book, is the recreational dimension. According to Orejuela, this dimension of hip hop was influenced by many street gangs. Orejuela goes into extensive detail on the subject of gangs throughout the early years of hip hop. Much of his discussion focused ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee and Atticus Finch is head of the throne over Joe Gargery of Great Expectations and Chlomo Wiesel of Night. I believe that Atticus Finch is an astoundingly well adjusted father for many reasons. First of all, he was a single parent that managed to make time for Jem and Scout, his two children. He is also a courageous, generous, forgiving, and honest man. Atticus Finch is a single parent working an exceptionally hard job to bring in enough income to pay his maid and supply the needs for his children. He is away most of the day at the courthouse defending his clients. Although his job sometimes required long hours, he still made time to read to his daughter at bedtime and pass a ball with his son. Therefore, Atticus Finch of To Kill a Mockingbird is the better father over Joe Gargery of Great Expectations and Chlomo Wiesel of Night because of his courageousness, generosity, forgiveness, and honesty. Atticus shows true courage by trying every way to help others who were in the need of it. First of all, it is courageous of Atticus to take the Tom Robinson case. Even his own family disagreed of taking the case because of the bias. He takes many risks when taking the Tom Robinson case. He risks the chance of critization by the people that live in the Maycomb County. Mrs. Dubose criticizes him when she said, Atticus is a Nigger lover! (100). With many prejudice people living in Maycomb County Atticus also risks the chance of not being re elected for legislature. Secondly, it is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The sun is a bright yellow surrounded with a blue sky, filled with clouds. The sand is stretched alongside I and cooper; white and clear. Only my foot prints and coopers paw prints left behind. The sand is very soft. My feet and coopers paws sink into it with every step. The salty ocean air burns our noses. The waves sparkle and glitter from the sun beaming down on it. The ocean is a dark blue color with white caps as far as we can see. The waves our small. Go get it Copper! I yell throwing the stick into the the ocean. Cooper is a Labrador,he s been part of the family for 7 years now. Cooper catches my eyes , he s holding something that is shiny. I can t tell what it is with the sun in my eyes. It s most likely a can he s been bringing them back to shore lately. Come on boy! I yell out to him, trying to encourage him to swim faster. I can now see what Cooper is holding , I was right it s a can. For some reason I m curious to find out whats in the can. As he s a few feet away from shore, I run to the edge of the water, the wind is blowing water across my ankles. Which you got Cooper? I ask him as he looses grip of the can, letting it fall on the sand. Coopers barking as I pick up the can. The cans label reads Del Monte Whole Kernel Corn . I straggle to open the can led It s sealed shut Cooper we have to wait until we get home to open it. Water is dripping of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The primary aim of the study focused on structured teaching and its effects on 4 child behaviors including, engagement, task completion, stereotypic behavior, and escape attempts in preschoolers with disabilities. The secondary aim was to evaluate how graduated guidance was used in teaching the children to use the structured work systems. There were a total of three preschool age participants with developmental disabilities involved. In the first study two participants engaged in three tasks in both a withdrawal design and in a structured work system. They mentioned the Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped CHildren program (TEACCH) and its model. It is stated that most of the TEACCH model has been explored as a comprehensive program and some of its practices and individual components have undergone little research. The two components that have been experimentally tested are visual activity schedules and structured work systems. The authors build a research foundation by introducing previous research on structured teaching. In a study conducted by MacDuff, Krantz, and McClannahan in 1993 on structured work systems, demonstrated increased engagement and decreased disruptive behaviors when utilizing visual schedules. The authors mention that several investigators have received similar, positive results when testing the advantages of structured learning. A study conducted by Hume and Odom in 2007 was detailed as well. Hume and Odom s study used a withdrawal design to examine the effects of individual work systems on on task behaviors, task completion, number of play materials used, and reduction of teacher prompts. They concluded that individuals with autism could benefit from individual work systems. Finally, the authors state their purpose of replicating Hume and Odoms s study in hopes of expanding what is known of structured work systems and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Art Of The Mona Lisa The Mona Lisa is a painting done by Leonardo Da Vinci within the years of 1503 and 1519, done in Florence Italy. The subject in the painting was Francesco del Gioconda s wife, and it took four years for Leonardo to paint. The Mona Lisa painting depicts a woman seated in front of a vast mountainous landscape with a mysterious smile and aura. The eyes have a luster and watery sheen, as well as the skin, has shades and tints. The nose and eyebrows are shaped with such precision that only a master painter can capture. Many spectators that look at the Mona Lisa claim that they see a beating pulse in her throat. I believe Leonardo Da Vinci created this piece to show the Renaissance period at its peak. When the public eye saw this piece they said it was an epic demonstration of the naturalism at that time. The Mona Lisa was a glorious representation of the talent that humans possessed. It made the people think and it benefitted people s minds because the painting left people asking questions. This painting was created during a very excellent time for art, and since the Mona Lisa was debatably the best painting of that time, that made the painting very famous. The Mona Lisa was one of the most 1 glorious works of the naturalism period and the Renaissance. The Mona Lisa looks so natural and so familiar, that we forget how innovative the painting was at the beginning of the sixteenth century. Louvre Curator Jean Pierre Cuzin The public eye also liked it because it was very realistic and divine and almost inhuman . Since this piece was painted during the Humanism phase of the Renaissance it was created to go along with that period. Mentioned earlier in the text was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My grandfather was born in Mexico and my father was born in New Mexico, while I was born at Fort Lewis Washington, I am a Soldiers Son. While growing up my father was stationed at various bases throughout the United States and I was lucky enough to tag along. From an early age I was always told to do better and more than those who came before me by my mother. From the age of two till I was five I lived in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This is where I gained my southern draw (which still comes out if I happen to be speaking to someone else who has one). At the age of six to nine I had the opportunity to live in Anchorage, Alaska. This is where I learned to want to always be outside exploring or building things. At the age of 10 my father was stationed to Fort Hood, Texas where I followed suit. Texas would eventually be where I would call home. I went to middle school at Smith Middle School and High School at Ellison High School. I graduated Ellison High School in 2002 and worked various jobs from a warehouse manager to a janitor. While some of the management jobs paid well they did not have any sense of fulfillment or pride. Just after graduating High School I began to date my now wife Marissa. We had met at a BBQ that one of my fathers soldiers had been throwing. In my eyes dimmesdale should not be forgiven for what he has done. Everything dimmesdale has done have been bad sins which would push him farther and farther away from God. If he is pushed far away from God is less likely for him to be forgiven. There are many reasons I don t think he is forgiven. The first reason I think he isn t forgiven is for preaching about something wrong and then doing what s bad. The society they were in thought cheating on someone was almost worse than murder. Ben is an outcast even in an institution for quot;nature s mistakes. quot; From the moment Harriet became pregnant it was apparent to her that something was obviously wrong. His piercing eyes were greeny yellow in nature and focused on Harriet from the moment he was born. quot;He s like a troll, or a goblin or something. quot; said Harriet. (p. 49) Ben actually resembled a Neanderthal! Although Harriet was apprehensive, David, as well as the entire family, decided it was best if they put Ben into an institution. A small black van came one morning to take Ben away. This institution was not a place that prepared children to become part of society. It was a horrific place that kept all their patients completely drugged and starved them until they eventually died. There were all types of quot;mistakes quot; here. Numerous cots engrossed the hallways containing children whose appearances were hideous at best. One child lacked the back of his skull, exposing his brain. Another was literally split in two. Amongst these terrible tragedies, Ben still managed to stick out. He was so incredibly strong that he warranted his own room, more sedatives than any other child had ever received, and had to remain in a strait jacket 24 hours a day. quot;He s so strong I ve never seen anything like it. quot; Said the girl at the institution. When he reached the palace gates, he slipped away from the crowd and hid behind a rain barrel of the building directly across from the gates. He observed two armor clad guards armed with spears standing just inside and miraculously, had not discovered him since they were all too busy assisting the patrol that had just come through the gate, its wagons filled with hot steaming cauldrons on their way to help with the assault on the city s main gate, to notice him. Starting in the 1970s, the Netherlands left on an even minded damage diminishment way to deal with medications that has brought about a framework in which need is given to social insurance and counteractive action while, at the same time, solid authorization measures are coordinated against sorted out wrongdoing. The Netherlands experience with drugs in the 19th century was in some ways unique. Although it was certainly not a drug free nation, it differed from the United States and other Western European nations in that it did not have the problem of addicted soldiers and there was little scientific research or public concern regarding addiction. Two key factors shaped the evolution of the Dutch policy on drugs during this period: the development of the modern medical profession, and the immense profitability of Dutch colonial drug operations (Benjamin, Dolin, 2001). By the early 20th century, the Netherlands was the world s largest cocaine producer; huge profits were made first from opium leases the practice by which the government leased the right to sell opium to local colonial populations and then later via state monopoly on the sale of opium (Benjamin, Dolin, 2001). The Dutch government established a Working Party on Drugs, which came to be known as the Baan Commission. Its recommendations largely determined the course of the Netherlands drug policy and resulted in an overhaul of the Opium Act in 1976 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Stephen Crane Naturalism Essay My interpretation of Crane s poem, the deeds people tell of war only tell that of the battles, the hardship, no one hears about the angels on the battlefield or the interactions that happen outside of battle. He sees the romantic view, and yet the naturalistic view at the same time. Though he leans more in the direction of romanticism, he does include some naturalism in his writing. For example, from The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane, he states, He developed the acute exacerbation of a pestered animal, a well meaning cow worried by dogs. Represents a naturalistic state of mind, but nevertheless, he mostly relies on romanticism. Naturalism, nature doesn t care. It s every animal for themselves. As for the Romantic side of things, from The Veteran by Stephen Crane, he writes, When the roof fell in, a great funnel of smoke swarmed toward the sky, as if the old man s mighty spirit, released from its body a little bottle had swelled like the genie of fable. ... I have Professor Hansen, and he was great to have because he is very knowledgeable in the IQP processes. I learned about different cultures, governments, finances, and most importantly, how to learn a society, and make beneficial changes to it. This skill was learned through the global competency project. In this project, I participated in group work, analyzed analytical data about counties poverty, heath issues, and education, and presented our findings on a poster. This class also required me to attend the global fair as a freshman. I was a little scared going, because I was a little freshman, wandering around not knowing what to do. But it was great practice for my sophomore year, where I engaged in conversation with past participants at the IQP locations. International Studies very relevant to and off campus IQP because it taught me that countries are very different, and I need to be ready to adapt to a new lifestyle, but most importantly, have fun doing it. Intermediate Mechanics PH2201 Intermediate Mechanics has been the most challenging class I have taken at WPI. This prompted lots of teamwork. As a team, we read the textbook, learned how to do the problems, spent many nights working late, and ended up succeeding in the class. I learned more about teamwork than I thought from this class. The first major change the Communists made in this field was to take major banks, railways and a proportion of heavy industry back into public control. In 1951, A People s Bank was opened to replace private banks, and to remove inflation (such inflation that had been seen sky rocketing before the Communists came to power). In addition, as farmers were producing more grain, to avoid food shortages they had to sell the Government 15 20% of their produce at a low price. Many of the Type 2 technologies are present in the schools in Saskatchewan and Canada, but it is unlikely that if the study were conducted here that the results would be significantly different. The technology is present, but there seem to be barriers in place that are preventing a transition from the educational practices of the past century to the ones of the current century. One way to ensure that this transition can happen is to consider technological integration as a component of all the work we do in schools, including technology use that supports increased student learning. Multiculturalism is the preservation of different cultures or cultural identities within a unified society, as a state or nation (Dictionary.com, 2013). Canada is a country full of many different ethnicities and cultures, but even though Canada is housing them, it s just not working. Problems in multiculturalism are most prominent in three areas, the communities, the schools and the workforce. Multiculturalism in the communities are facing struggle because of the cities appeal to new immigrants and because of the segregation in ethnic enclaves. Multiculturalism in the schools is evident when unfair religious accommodations are made and when schools are stereotyped based on the racial majority. The workforce faces problems in multiculturalism because of the employers employing visible minorities which creates segregation and because many immigrants credentials are being looked over and given worse positions. Multiculturalism is not working in Canada based on the discrimination, stereotypes and segregation evident in the communities, schools and the workforce. Some people talk about having psychic powers or psychic abilities, such as having a sixth sense. A sixth sense is a sense that is beyond the five physical senses touching, seeing, smelling, hearing and tasting. The five senses are so common, most people do not even notice they are using them. A sixth sense is often referred to as a metaphysical ability, so in its most essential form, psychic power is knowing or seeing the future before it happens. Although science has proven billions of facts, and has not definitively proven its existence, that does not mean that it is not existent. There are many different types of psychic abilities. Some abilities that have been reported in the past are Clairaudience, Telekinesis, Mediums, and Psychic Surgeons. While science has been negating psychic abilities throughout history, there have been several reported unexplainable events of these psychic powers. Someone who is Clairaudient is able to hear events occurring at long distances, in the physical world, and events occurring in other dimensions. Zoos do not give the warm and comforting environment that animals once used to have. These animals feel depressed, miserable, and tortured, but are forced to pretend to smile and play in front of the crowd. Zoos should definitely not be perceived as a place for entertainment for the reason that they deprive animals of natural habitat, harm animals mentally, and damage them physically. Sure, I shall never marry like my sisters, To love my father all. (1.1.95 103) This quote is coming from Cordelia in the first scene of the first act. Lear has just called his three daughters in and is dividing up his kingdom. The daughters are telling Lear how much they love him in order to influence the decision on dividing the kingdom. Useful information has been unearthed by studying leadership qualities in individuals and by studying the dynamic between leader and follower.
