The Causes And Impacts Of September 11, 2001
On September 11, 2001 a terrorist group hijacked four planes that were flying above the United States.
Two of them were flown into the twin towers of the world center in New York, Another was crashed
into the Pentagon the top military building between Washington D.C and Virginia and the last plane
crashed into a field, 80 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Twin Towers in New York were
severely hit it, injured and killed 403 officers and firefighters,it was a very sad day. All the people that
are alive today and went through it could tell the story what happened in September 11, 2001. It also
killed and injured a lot of civilians, and only about 5 to 15 people survived that day. Did you know
that one plane hit and about a hour later the second one hit and the twin towers fell and made dust go
everywhere. Now I will tell you about the other planes that was hijacked. One of the other planes hit
the Pentagon in Washington D.C outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It killed 2,753 people and even
more could of died. The crash made a gash that is 30 yards wide and 10 yards deep, puncturing the
three outer rings of the building. It was in fire for 36 hours, and by the time they put it out 189 people
were dead. In early October, 2001 they started rebuilding the Pentagon, It was officially completed in
February 2003 and it cost them 5 Billion Dollars to rebuild but it was worth it. Flight 93 was the last
plane and it hit a field. It hit a field because the passengers

Summer Employment Research Paper
My senior year of high school was quickly coming to an end, and I found myself looking for a job for
the summer. College cost go up every year and I knew that if I wanted extra spending money, I would
have to contribute. Summer employment is a great way to earn extra money plus, I am a person who
likes to stay busy, and I realized having a job during break would help accomplish both. Having
played multiple sports in high school, I was always doing something throughout my day and I knew I
couldn t have a job like lifeguarding where you have to sit and watch a pool for hours. I enjoy always
having a task to perform or a job to get done. Now that I knew I wanted to work, I started my first job

Geology Of Mercury Essay
Mercury The geology of Mercury is similar to the geology of the Moon; although, Mercury is a much
denser planet with a larger liquid iron core. The surface of Mercury is covered by impact craters and
lava plains.
It s believed that the surface of Mercury is geologically inactive; although, only 55% of the surface
has been mapped in enough detail to see its geology.
Some of the largest craters in this period were filled with lava from Mercury s interior. It s believed
that vulcanism on Mercury ended during its first 700 800 million years. Craters on Mercury can be
small bowl shaped pockets, or huge impact craters hundreds of kilometers across. The largest crater on
Mercury is the Caloris Basin, measuring 1,550 km. One of the unique places ... Show more content on

The plates act like a hard and rigid shell compared to Earth s mantle. This strong outer layer is called
the lithosphere.
Four types of plate boundaries exist: Transform bounderies occur where two lithospheric plates slide;
Divergent bounderies occur where two plates slide apart from each other; Convergent bounderies
occur where two plates slide toward each other; Plate boundery zones occur where the effects of the
interactions are unclear.
The lithosphere, which is the rigid outermost shell of a planet (on Earth, the crust and upper mantle),
is broken up into tectonic plates. On Earth, there are seven or eight major plates (depending on how
they are defined) and many minor plates.

The Bombay Plan And Its Predecessor Attempts
2.2 The Bombay Plan and its Predecessor Attempts
The Bombay Plan had the most important share in the establishment of an independent economic
policy in the Post colonial Period. India earned its independence from Great Britain in 1947 and
starting with this date, it mainly focused on restoration of the economy via centralization. For
centralization process, an economic model that was inspired by Soviet Union called Five Year Plan
was developed and was accepted by the Indian the Government in 1952. (Lokanathan, 1945).
Another part of the Five Year Plan was to intensify irrigation infrastructure such as watering systems
for agricultural activities, which preserved the remarkable majority of Indian economy.
Furthermore, in the context of this plan; scientific investigations, including space and nuclear
programmes were additional fields that India paid attention similar to the Soviet Union. Nonetheless;
economy of India did not correspond all these attempts immediately because of previous excessive
investments in defense industry that aimed to enhance resistance to Colonial Rule. The main problems
were inadequacy in generation of asset and qualified people along with required improved facilities.
Due to these scarcities of sources; for 28 years (1951 1979) Indian economy yielded 3% annual
average increase and this growth rate reflected as fixed low charges during all this period. Given the
returns of the Five Year Plan; industrial and agricultural activities yielded 4.5%

In the Plantae kingdom comprising of over 3,500 species and about 250 noted genera came the
Liliaceae family, also known as the Lily family. They fall under the order of Liliales. All plants in this
family are perennial; therefore after flowering they die back to underground bulbs, corms or rhizomes
and then return back again year after year. They are often found to be a prime example of
monocotyledonous plants. In the past the Liliaceae family had many genera clumped into one big
family, but recent reclassification systems (i.e. APG III Classification System) have assigned many of
the genera commonly associated with Liliaceae to different families such as: Alliums now part of the
family Amaryllidaeceae, and Hostas which are now of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Is Piggy Mature In Lord Of The Flies
Piggy, from Lord of the Flies, displays a mature perspective in a childish, chaotic atmosphere. The
author, William Golding, presents Piggy as a plump, spectacle wearing schoolboy, diagnosed with
asthma (7 9). The fragile appearance and lung disease of the stout student suggests his physical
vulnerability. The young boy speaks childlike since he talks in sentence fragments; however, this still
steadies the fat boy s character because he constructs most of the boys helpful ideas (10 15). When so
called Fatty spots Ralph on the island, he frequently mentions his aunt due to the fact he lives with her
(9 16). The asthmatic instantly realizes the adults on the plane died, leaving them on a stranded island,
while the other boys immediately accept their fates by imprudently developing an anarchic state (14).

These indicate that he thinks more practically than the others. Although the chief s assistant holds
intelligent ideas, the irrational boys rudely interrupt before the rational boy speaks; therefore, leading
to the sensitive child to rant on how abused he feels by crying, That s what I said! I said about our
meetings and things and then you said shut up (43). Golding reveals the matured boy s task of an adult
when he compares the English pupil s face to the martyred expression of a parent who has to keep up
with the senseless ebullience of the children (38). The quote infers the outcast s frustration with
having the parents job by watching the children run wildly. The caring juvenile also desires fairness,
unlike the rest. The cordial schoolboy reveals wanting nobody else to experience bullying when he
supports a shy, embarrassed shrimp of a boy in talking in front of the meeting (35). Golding writes,

How Personal Values And Beliefs Influenced The Black...
How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life
of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared.
Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery,
and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of
ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the
sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman
experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a
comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave
(1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861).
Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as
their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between
the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence,
and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards
the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a
woman.
Douglas writes, You have seen how a man was made a slave; you shall see how a slave was made a
man (Douglass).

The Greatest Leader Of History
Adolf Hitler has been looked upon as a Genius, the most evil being to ever walk the Earth, and as the

in 1889 and lived for fifty six years. He accomplished what unimaginable feats before he committed
suicide on the eve of defeat by the Red Army two days after his marriage to Eva Braun on the thirtieth

he was appointed as Chancellor and eventually elected to power before he created the most
memorable time in modern history; The Holocaust. During his earlier years, particularly those of
1919, he was made an intelligence agent and assigned to gather said information from the German

Symbolism In Lord Of The Glies In William Golding s Lord...
In Lord of the Flies, William Golding uses the conch to enforce that without proper leadership, people
become more prone to be disorganized and power hungry. The conch initially serves as a tool for the
prosperity of the boys. Yet, over time, the conch loses it s value, leading to the boys living in a
disorganized society and causing some to strive for power. The effectiveness of the conch continues
on the same downward spiral and eventually becomes obsolete, as the boys fight for the right to rule
each other. When the boys reach the island, the conch is viewed as a symbol of power and acts as a
tool to organize the boys. When the conch is first discovered by Ralph and Piggy on the beach, Piggy
identifies the strange looking object in the sand and exclaims A conch he called it. On someone s back
wall. A conch he called it. He used to blow it and then his mum would come. It s ever so valuable
(18). Upon the conch s discovery, the boys are clearly enthralled with it, displaying their intentions to
use the conch to call attention and create order. At this early stage of the story, some of the boys are
concerned with using tools that symbolize power and creating a society that has a strong structure. It
was understood between the boys that the conch was a tool to allow for cooperation and
understanding. Moments later, Piggy states that the boys can use this to call the others. They ll come

A Comparison Of Jack The Ripper And Lizzie Borden

Jack the Ripper and Lizzie Borden
Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks, when she saw what she had done she
gave her father forty one. Jack the Ripper and the Lizzie Borden Murders were both violent crimes
that impacted the world during the late 1800s. Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who was never
found. Lizzie Borden had her parents murdered and most people believe she did it but was never
accused of the murders. They both are unsolved cases that people still talk about today.
Jack the Ripper was a serial killer in the United Kingdom in 1888. Why is Jack the Ripper so famous?
He was essentially a media star. He is believed to only have 11 victims but, the media is what made
him famous throughout England. All of his victims were alcoholics who turned to prostitution, says
Thomas K. Grose from Time Magazine. Also, the area where Jack the Ripper killed all his victims was
well known. It was known as a hotbed of vice and villainy, and a breeding ground for social unrest.
Jack the Ripper was never found and over the course of these many years there have been hundreds of
suspects but nobody has been brought to justice.
The worst thing about Jack the Ripper is the way that he murdered his victims. It was not just a quick
stab or a bullet, but sheer violence. He ripped them to pieces. Most of his victims weren t recognizable
after he was done with them. That is how he got his name, Jack the Ripper.

Descriptive Essay On A Fall Day
Today, the weather was very humid and warm outside for mid October. It was a comfortable
temperature outside, so I decided to take my fall jacket off because I did not want to be too hot as I
was walking around the market. I m estimating that it was approximately mid to low 20 s in
temperature today, so whenever a breeze arose, it was refreshing because it was pretty warm outside. I
decided that today I would take a walk through the dessert sections of the market before going to sit
by the outdoor firepit. There were many vendors selling fudge and pastries, so this was something I
purchased because I was heading home that afternoon and I thought my family would enjoy these
treats. The firepit was not turned on today because it was fairly warm outside, but I still decided to sit
in one of the Adirondack chairs surrounding the firepit to take in everything that was happening
around me. It was very busy at the market around this time because it was the weekend, and
everybody was taking the opportunity to spend time with their families outside on the warm fall day. I
also noticed an older man performing a compilation of folk songs on the guitar, and a small group of
people huddled around the area listening to him perform. I started to become restless after sitting in
the chair for about ten minutes, so I decided to continue walking to one of the buildings at the farmer s
market. Throughout my childhood, my parents would usually take me and my sisters to St. Jacobs

National Security Is More Important Than Human Rights
National Security is More Important than Human Rights
The conception of human rights and freedoms is the cornerstone of American traditions, law and the
indicator of democracy. The approach of prevailing interest in personal privacy, property privacy and
non interference of state authorities in private affairs is the basic ground for modern organization of
American society. For centuries the courts have been standing safeguards of protection of persons
against unreasonable intrusion of the State, generally interpreting the Constitution and the Bill of
Rights with preference of personal human rights protection. Nonetheless in the end of the 21st century
there appeared several factors which so much influenced our society that the matters ... Show more

In most of the cases opposing the concept of human rights to national security is erroneous and
unreasonable construction because the national security is the concept which precludes the physical
and mental security of all members of the society, and therefore includes and predetermines the
possibility of exercising human rights and freedoms. Without security the well being is impossible.
Looking at the national security vs. human rights question from the points of view of internal and
external national security, one should first examine what concrete human rights may be waived or
limited for the homeland security and protection purposes. Natural human rights like the right for life
are not the subject to address in this essay. The rights addressed in this essay are defined primarily in
the U.S. Bill of Rights. These are civil right for privacy, the right of peaceful protest, the right to
personal freedom, the right to a fair trial and the right of equal protection, usually in the list of the
rights which under certain conditions may be waived for the efficiency of homeland security and
protection.
The first argument supporting the statement that national security is more important than protection of
individual rights is the increased threat of terroristic attacks, which are very dangerous, carefully
planned, locally targeted and generously funded

The CEO might control the board and hence reduce the efficiencies of the directors, monitoring.
Meanwhile, the study also highlighted the relationship between directors compensation and the
number of meetings. The number of board meetings considered as the amount of monitoring and effort
required of directors. The impact of director incentive compensation upon firm performance can be
examined in three ways: by using changes in Q, ROA and future ROA. Q and ROA will increase if the
percentage of director s incentive compensation is approximately at an average level. The directors
pay performance sensitivity has a relation with firm performance. When directors have more
information about future firm performance, they are likely to pay themselves with more equity and
share options. In addition, studies also discovered secondary relationship between CEO compensation
and firm performance. CEO compensation will influence the ROA. So, it has been examined that
directors pay performance sensitivity is related to firm performance and CEO pay performance
sensitivity is primarily related to ROA. CONCLUSION: This study is mainly focused on the factors
and impact of directors incentive compensation structure upon firm performance. Studies have
discovered that the incentive compensation structure linked with variables that represent the need for
monitoring by the directors is one of the factors in determining the director s incentive. Finally,

Mental Illness Is A Serious Growing Issue
Introduction Mental illness is a serious growing issue, not only in the United States, but also around
the world. It is estimated approximately forty three million Americans suffer from a mental illness.
The concerning issue however, is that the forty three million estimated only represent those who have
sought diagnosis. Therefore, there may still be a large number of individuals who remain undiagnosed
(National Institute of Health, 2013). Although treatment may keep a disorder under control to a certain
extent, many psychological disorders cannot be cured and often persist throughout a person s lifetime.
Thus the goal of treatment is to help an individual live a healthy more normal lifestyle. In order to
develop additional medical treatment specifically medication in addition to psychotherapy the multiple
disorders need to be further researched. Of the treatment that does exist, many people suffering from
psychological disorders do not receive treatment at all; in fact, almost half of all diagnosed patients do
not seek treatment (National Institute of Health, 2013). The ongoing research on the mechanisms
behind most mental illnesses continues and although much progress has been made, there is still a
large gap of missing knowledge that remains unknown. There are many common mental disorders that
affect tens of millions of Americans every year. However, there are several mental disorders that are
more commonly seen in recent times among adolescents including

Technicolor In A Matter Of Life And Death
This film study will define the theory of color consciousness in the psychological characterization of
life and death through Technicolor and dye monochrome methods in A Matter of Life and Death
(1946) by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. In the film, Squadron Leader Peter David Carter
(David Niven) is depicted as a dying after his plane is shot down during WWII. Natalie Kalmus theory
of color consciousness defines the use of neutral colors and color harmony in a psychological
perspective, which contrast the use of dye monochrome methods of color theory in the black and
white sequences of Carter s journey to the Other World. More so, Carter is a blessed individual that
survives death, and his life on earth is defined through the color harmony proposed by Kalmus as part
of the symbol of nature in the living realm. Cinematographer Jack Cardiff also provides scenic images
and lighting technique related to life and death through the cosmic view of heaven in the Other World,
which contrasts the more nature based romantic scenes of Carter and June (Kim Hunter) while on
Earth. Carter is, therefore, characterized as a symbolic traveler between life and death in the use of
color, monochrome film, and lighting in this Technicolor production. ... Show more content on

Pride In The Necklace
What exactly is pride? Pride is a great love of your accomplishments or the accomplishments of
somebody whose accomplishments you can claim as your own, like a daughter. This is one of the
relationships (mother daughter) that is altered, for the worse, by pride. Pride can be a wonderful tool
used to bring about confidence and give somebody the courage to step outside the relative comfort
zone they usually hold. However, that is not typically the case, for pride is usually found in excessive
amounts. This excessive pride leads to horrible consequences if one is not careful about hiding it. For

Doodle s brother suffered from pride, and although he was customarily kind to his brother and taught
him to walk, he did it for the wrong reasons. Furthermore, an expression of how terrible his brother
feels because of his pride is shown in a passage that says: They did not know that I did it for myself;
that pride, whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices, and that Doodle walked only
because I was ashamed of having a crippled brother (Hurst 389). This passage literally states that
Doodle s brother was pride s slave, and it was only because of this slavery that he had taught Doodle
how to walk. Nevertheless, this is not where his pride reaches its climax, and it is this extreme climax
of pride that definitely does the uttermost damage to their relationship. After receiving immense praise
from his family, Doodle s brother decides to push Doodle harder and harder, hoping that by doing this
Doodle will earn his the praise his pride demands. Furthermore, Doodle did reach his limit; he died
after being pushed, surpassing his natural limitations and being abandoned by the person who is
supposed to protect him. It is when this happens that the significance of the title is revealed, not when

Zoning Laws And Zoning Ordinance Regulations

Subdivision regulations are directed toward two purposes: (a) to ensure that development is provided
adequate infrastructure such as water, sewers, streets, and sidewalks; and (b) to facilitate real estate
conveyancing by imposing standards for the platting of land (requiring a survey to show streets,
blocks, and lots in a subdivision and the recording of the survey). Subdivisions must, however,

following methods:

Conditional Use Permits (CUP) certain uses of land may only be allowed upon approval of a CUP.

through several differential media tests. Over the course of a couple weeks, ten tests were performed.
First, a gram stain was performed, indicating the bacterium was gram negative. An aerotolerance test
determined that the bacterium was a facultative anaerobe. Next, a negative result in the methyl red test
indicated that no mixed acid fermentation occurred. The DNase test was performed and yielded a
positive result. The SIM test provided two outcomes, that the bacterium did not reduce sulfur nor

After incubation, approximately 6 8 drops of methyl red were added Possible observations: If mixed
acid fermentation occurs, the broth will turn red. If mixed acid fermentation does not occur, the broth
will not change its color. DNase Test 1. The bacterium was inoculated with a flamed loop onto agar
containing peptides for soybeans, casein, NaCl and DNA 2. The plate was incubated at 37C for 24
hours Possible observations: If there is a clearing in the agar around the growth, then DNase is
present. If there is not a clearing in the agar, DNase is not present. SIM Test: Tests for sulfur reduction,
indole production from tryptophan, and motility 1. The SIM slant was stabbed with a flamed needle

a filibuster that lasted over 23 hours. Using the filibuster allowed Smith to speak for an unlimited

Hitler s Role During The Holocaust Essay
On January 20th, 1942, top German officials met in Wannsee to discuss the administration of the final
solution. Reinhard Heydrich, Chief of the Reich Main Security Office, exclaimed, the evacuation of
the Jews to the east has now emerged, with the prior permission of the Fuhrer, as a further possible
solution instead of emigration. The change in commitment highlights a significant change in the
Jewish question, which until then had centered around forced emigration to the French colony in
Madagascar. Insofar as Hitler s role in the Holocaust, Heydrich provides evidence to suggest that the
Fuhrer was willing to hide his direct involvement in the administration and implementation of the final
solution. But that is not to say that Hitler enjoyed a minor influence on the Jewish question, because
he certainly shared full responsibility for the mass murder of Jews and other undesirables with others
like Heydrich and the SS Chief Heinrich Himmler. It is worth noting that Hitler was hesitant towards
open Jewish discrimination. Insofar as he didn t want to alarm international Jews.
The heinous Nazi idea of mass murder took many smaller, equally significant, steps before it
blossomed into one of the greatest atrocities in human history. But the first step, the invasion of
Poland in 1939 and the subsequent other steps that follow, owe their origins to two key terms born
from strong anti Semitic rhetoric preached by Hitler: Lebensraum and Germanization. Certainly,

ambivalence. Though he s able to think creatively and enjoy certain freedoms that other jobs don t

notes that his wife s always waiting for William to call while on the road, his taxi arrives and William

The Islam Means Peace Or Submission
Research Paper Rough Draft Islam means peace or submission. The followers of islam are called
Muslims. Muslims believe that Allah (God) is the only God, is is a monotheistic religion. They also
believe that Allah is beyond human comprehension, and we should never try to draw Allah as a being
but instead beautiful, yet complicated patterns. Muslims also believe that Allah cannot become human,
it is logically impossible, and that there were five prophets who were messengers of him, Noah,
Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Prophet Muhammed was greatly important to Islam. He is
believed to be the final prophet, and he showed people the way they should live. One day in Makkah,
heavy rain damaged the walls of Kaaba. The black stone fell out the place, and people fell out over
who should put it back. Prophet Muhammad decided on a team effort. The Islamic place of worship is
the Mosque. Muslims do not have priests or any specific leaders, anyone is open to a sermon. Islam is
now becoming increasingly more popular; it is the second largest world religion after Christianity.
Some Muslims believe everyone in the world was born Muslim and anyone who becomes Muslim
does not convert but reverts. Islam also has the five pillars which are extremely important to Muslims.
Islamic views on things like abortion and euthanasia are almost identical to Catholic beliefs, they
believe in the sanctity of human life. In order to make freedom for Islam religion, people should not

The Stop And Frisk Program
The Stop and Frisk program is a program established in several large cities that gives the right to law
enforcement officials to stop and frisk any person on the street with reasonable cause. This program
has taken over 6,000 guns off the street in New York since 2004. If it were to be stopped crime rates
would go up, simply because people would now be able to carry weapons or any other illegal items
and cops cannot stop and search/frisk them without a warrant or without seeing the item. As for
violent crime falling with the stop of Stop and Frisk I do not really see that happening. Criminals are
going to feel like they can walk the streets without worrying that they could get randomly stopped. I
do believe that law enforcement officials are stereotyping the African American and Latin American
communities by stopping mostly people that fit into these ethnic backgrounds. I believe that it would
not be as big of an issue if law enforcement officials stopped an even number of people from all races
and backgrounds so certain groups of people do not feel singled out. As for question number ... Show

prevalence that reading will hold in our society, as well as how our society will adapt and handle the
changes. He also covers the emergence of text to speech and speech to text technological advances,
the effects on society and how the disappearance of the two of them will never fully occur. Sperber s

However, Sperber does stress that there is a strong difference between the writing and reading, and
their relationship with technology. While he states that writing may completely be taken over by
technology, the same could never be done to reading. Most particularly because the two are very
closely linked, yet writing could never exist without reading. The benefits that are present with writing
come mostly from reading, as well as with the fact that as you write, you read along with your words.
Though writing may be replaced at some point in time, reading can never be replaced despite the text
to speech technology.
In particular, he addresses the impact that technology could have, and like writing it involves both
speech and text, yet in the opposite order. This time technology would allow a person to listen to the
text be read to them rather than having to read it themselves. However, Sperber suspects that this is
much less likely than the latter, particularly because most people prefer to read and interpret on their

Learning Experience Reflection Paper
We learn something new everyday, we are always growing until the day we die said by Bill Vaughan.
Learning is a lesson that is always changing we each learn new things we are proud of. However,
when trying to gain a ability to do something, we have to keep trying. Giving up before getting
anywhere is not an option. Do or do not there is no try said by Yoda from Star Wars . I have had many
important experiences in my life, but I have the fondest memory of one specific learning moment that
greatly affected my life. I will now show everyone a time where I learned how to swim. At first, it was
a couple of years back around the time when I was five years old. I mean of course I had been in a
pool before that, but I had to wear floaties since my parents would be scared to death if something
awful occurred. When I finally turned five; however, my parents thought it was time for the floaties to
come off and I thought so too. I was ecstatic at the thought of the floaties finally coming off after all
this time. There was not a glance of fear through my mind until I got to the pool. However, at that first
glance looking back into my past I remember the first thought that crossed my mind as I looked
towards the pool. This is going to be easy I thought. I was delusional I had no idea how wrong I was
until I took those first steps into the deep end of the pool. After a couple of days, I can remember this

halal and vegetarian foods. 2. Arrival time was earlier than what was stated on the ticket which was
good. 3. Smooth journey with little turbulence. 4. Tiring and sleepy after the journey because of the
uncomfortable seats.
2.2 THE SERVICE VALUE
Value is the customer s assessments of the benefits of the service weighted against all the cost
involved. (Johnston and Clark, 2008, pg. 44). In a service organisation, operations determine the
balance between minimising organisational cost and maximising customer s value. The service value
of BA includes the following: 1. All inclusive prices for the journey. 2. Free foods, drinks and
entertainment (television [audio and video], and headphones) while on board. 3. Tickets are expensive
compared to other airlines that provide the same services at cheaper rates. 4. Overall satisfactory
values for money.
Therefore, the service concept of BA gives a worldwide linkage of interconnecting flights and a range
of services for different group of travellers. BA follow this objective by establishing a complex
linkage of routes and by developing collaboration with other organisations (airlines) that enhance
international coverage and provide links among routes. Operationally, the main focus and concern of
BA is to ensure greater level of customer service, to generate international network, and to manage
route effectiveness.
2.3 THE STRATEGIC FOCUS OF SERVICE ALIGNMENT

One of the other planes hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It killed 2,753 people and even more could of died. • 3. Summer Employment Research Paper My senior year of high school was quickly coming to an end, and I found myself looking for a job for the summer. College cost go up every year and I knew that if I wanted extra spending money, I would have to contribute. Summer employment is a great way to earn extra money plus, I am a person who likes to stay busy, and I realized having a job during break would help accomplish both. Having played multiple sports in high school, I was always doing something throughout my day and I knew I couldn t have a job like lifeguarding where you have to sit and watch a pool for hours. I enjoy always having a task to perform or a job to get done. Now that I knew I wanted to work, I started my first job search by networking with people I thought had connections ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Arriving at work on time and working hard helped to build a good relationship with the team and with my boss. Hard work proved to the team that I would do my share and Norm even trusted me to drive The Morgue, one of 3 white vans that we used on all jobs to transfer our equipment and materials. The morgue was where we kept all the sheets of drywall and I found myself running to Home Depot, Lowes, and Interior Supply Co. to pick up drywall and supplies. Carrying all the sheets of drywall was certainly one of the hardest parts of my job, and being a young athlete, I always found myself doing a large part of the heavy lifting. I didn t know the different weights of an 8ft, 9ft, 10ft, 12ft, 14ft and a 16ft board until I carried them all more times than I had could imagined. This exercise also made me vividly aware of the role that the different thicknesses of the boards plays in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Geology Of Mercury Essay Mercury The geology of Mercury is similar to the geology of the Moon; although, Mercury is a much denser planet with a larger liquid iron core. The surface of Mercury is covered by impact craters and lava plains. It s believed that the surface of Mercury is geologically inactive; although, only 55% of the surface has been mapped in enough detail to see its geology. The Bombay Plan And Its Predecessor Attempts 2.2 The Bombay Plan and its Predecessor Attempts The Bombay Plan had the most important share in the establishment of an independent economic policy in the Post colonial Period. India earned its independence from Great Britain in 1947 and starting with this date, it mainly focused on restoration of the economy via centralization. For centralization process, an economic model that was inspired by Soviet Union called Five Year Plan was developed and was accepted by the Indian the Government in 1952. (Lokanathan, 1945). Another part of the Five Year Plan was to intensify irrigation infrastructure such as watering systems for agricultural activities, which preserved the remarkable majority of Indian economy. Furthermore, in the context of this plan; scientific investigations, including space and nuclear programmes were additional fields that India paid attention similar to the Soviet Union. Nonetheless; economy of India did not correspond all these attempts immediately because of previous excessive investments in defense industry that aimed to enhance resistance to Colonial Rule. The main problems were inadequacy in generation of asset and qualified people along with required improved facilities. The author, William Golding, presents Piggy as a plump, spectacle wearing schoolboy, diagnosed with asthma (7 9). The fragile appearance and lung disease of the stout student suggests his physical vulnerability. The young boy speaks childlike since he talks in sentence fragments; however, this still steadies the fat boy s character because he constructs most of the boys helpful ideas (10 15). When so called Fatty spots Ralph on the island, he frequently mentions his aunt due to the fact he lives with her (9 16). How Personal Values and Beliefs Influenced the Black American Slave Narrative: Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass Compared. Throughout the abolition movement, both men and women slaves were trying to escape from slavery, and find their way to freedom in the North. Many of wrote their stories down. Some with the aid of ghost writers, and often under pseudonyms to protect their safety. These slave narratives spoke of the sufferings of the slave experience in America (Campbell 1). Because black men and black woman experienced slavery differently, they wrote about them differently. Those differences can be seen in a comparison of Frederick Douglass s, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave (1845), and of Harriet A. Jacobs, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Written by Herself (1861). Jacobs and Douglass have similar backgrounds. Both write of their experiences while enslaved, yet as their narratives are compared a distinction can be made between the core values and purposes between the two. Douglass s audience is towards anyone who will listen, and underscores the brutal violence, and dehumanization of the American slave. Jacob s views are more emotional and directed towards the upper class white woman whose sympathies she believes will align with her own as a mother and a woman. Yet, over time, the conch loses it s value, leading to the boys living in a disorganized society and causing some to strive for power. The effectiveness of the conch continues on the same downward spiral and eventually becomes obsolete, as the boys fight for the right to rule each other. When the boys reach the island, the conch is viewed as a symbol of power and acts as a tool to organize the boys. When the conch is first discovered by Ralph and Piggy on the beach, Piggy identifies the strange looking object in the sand and exclaims A conch he called it. On someone s back wall. He is believed to only have 11 victims but, the media is what made him famous throughout England. All of his victims were alcoholics who turned to prostitution, says Thomas K. Jack the Ripper was never found and over the course of these many years there have been hundreds of suspects but nobody has been brought to justice. It is estimated approximately forty three million Americans suffer from a mental illness. The concerning issue however, is that the forty three million estimated only represent those who have sought diagnosis. Therefore, there may still be a large number of individuals who remain undiagnosed (National Institute of Health, 2013). Thus the goal of treatment is to help an individual live a healthy more normal lifestyle. In order to develop additional medical treatment specifically medication in addition to psychotherapy the multiple disorders need to be further researched. Of the treatment that does exist, many people suffering from psychological disorders do not receive treatment at all; in fact, almost half of all diagnosed patients do not seek treatment (National Institute of Health, 2013). The ongoing research on the mechanisms behind most mental illnesses continues and although much progress has been made, there is still a large gap of missing knowledge that remains unknown. In the film, Squadron Leader Peter David Carter (David Niven) is depicted as a dying after his plane is shot down during WWII. Natalie Kalmus theory of color consciousness defines the use of neutral colors and color harmony in a psychological perspective, which contrast the use of dye monochrome methods of color theory in the black and white sequences of Carter s journey to the Other World. • 27. Pride In The Necklace What exactly is pride? Pride is a great love of your accomplishments or the accomplishments of somebody whose accomplishments you can claim as your own, like a daughter. This is one of the relationships (mother daughter) that is altered, for the worse, by pride. Pride can be a wonderful tool used to bring about confidence and give somebody the courage to step outside the relative comfort zone they usually hold. However, that is not typically the case, for pride is usually found in excessive amounts. This excessive pride leads to horrible consequences if one is not careful about hiding it. Doodle s brother suffered from pride, and although he was customarily kind to his brother and taught him to walk, he did it for the wrong reasons. Furthermore, an expression of how terrible his brother feels because of his pride is shown in a passage that says: They did not know that I did it for myself; that pride, whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices, and that Doodle walked only because I was ashamed of having a crippled brother (Hurst 389). This passage literally states that Doodle s brother was pride s slave, and it was only because of this slavery that he had taught Doodle how to walk. Nevertheless, this is not where his pride reaches its climax, and it is this extreme climax of pride that definitely does the uttermost damage to their relationship. After receiving immense praise from his family, Doodle s brother decides to push Doodle harder and harder, hoping that by doing this Doodle will earn his the praise his pride demands. • 34. Hitler s Role During The Holocaust Essay On January 20th, 1942, top German officials met in Wannsee to discuss the administration of the final solution. Reinhard Heydrich, Chief of the Reich Main Security Office, exclaimed, the evacuation of the Jews to the east has now emerged, with the prior permission of the Fuhrer, as a further possible solution instead of emigration. The change in commitment highlights a significant change in the Jewish question, which until then had centered around forced emigration to the French colony in Madagascar. Insofar as Hitler s role in the Holocaust, Heydrich provides evidence to suggest that the Fuhrer was willing to hide his direct involvement in the administration and implementation of the final solution. But that is not to say that Hitler enjoyed a minor influence on the Jewish question, because he certainly shared full responsibility for the mass murder of Jews and other undesirables with others like Heydrich and the SS Chief Heinrich Himmler. It is worth noting that Hitler was hesitant towards open Jewish discrimination. Insofar as he didn t want to alarm international Jews. The heinous Nazi idea of mass murder took many smaller, equally significant, steps before it blossomed into one of the greatest atrocities in human history. But the first step, the invasion of Poland in 1939 and the subsequent other steps that follow, owe their origins to two key terms born from strong anti Semitic rhetoric preached by Hitler: Lebensraum and Germanization. The Stop And Frisk Program The Stop and Frisk program is a program established in several large cities that gives the right to law enforcement officials to stop and frisk any person on the street with reasonable cause. This program has taken over 6,000 guns off the street in New York since 2004. If it were to be stopped crime rates would go up, simply because people would now be able to carry weapons or any other illegal items and cops cannot stop and search/frisk them without a warrant or without seeing the item. As for violent crime falling with the stop of Stop and Frisk I do not really see that happening. Criminals are going to feel like they can walk the streets without worrying that they could get randomly stopped. I do believe that law enforcement officials are stereotyping the African American and Latin American communities by stopping mostly people that fit into these ethnic backgrounds.
