Political Power In North Korea
Korea was split into two countries following World War II with the northern half (North Korea) falling
under a Communist domination and the southern portion (South Korea) becoming Western oriented
(Korea (North, n.d.). North Korea, officially referred to as the Democratic People s Republic of Korea
has a totalitarianism dictatorship as its current form of government (Korea (North, n.d.). This country
initially adopted a constitution in 1942, which has been amended on multiple occasions (North Korea:
Government, n.d.). Furthermore, the constitution establishes the country s status as a socialist state
that is defined as a dictatorship of people s democracy (North Korea: Government, n.d.).

Swot Analysis Of Topshop
Topshop Overview
Topshop was founded in 1964 in Sheffield England as a high fashion store for the young and different
generation. Today they currently have over 500 store locations across 58 countries and 86 of them in
the United States. They still follow the same young and high fashion identity that the store was built
on.
Introduction Topshop Green
One thing that is missing from the current market place is a fast fashion store that carries eco friendly
clothing. There is currently no store that has a fast supply chain and produces inexpensive clothing for
a low price. Fast Fashion is one of the worst things that has happened to our environment because of
how the clothes are made and how fast they are being thrown out by consumers. A missing category in
the fast fashion industry is an ethical/ sustainable clothing. Topshop Green will fill in this niche
market that is just starting to come together. This line will focus on fashion forward clothing but the
first thought when creating the clothes will be how to make them as ecofriendly as possible. This line
will target the millennial generation because they are the most aware of what s going on with our
planet and will be attracted to a sustainable clothing line.
Target Customer
Our target customer will be females 18 35 year olds, which is the Millennial Generation. The average
income of our customers is $40 thousand and up but income isn t very important because she doesn t
have any children yet and she is

Development of Control and Confidentiality for Database...
Early research efforts in the area of access control and confidentiality for DBMSs focused on the
development of two different classes of models, based on the unrestricted access control policy and on
the mandatory access control policy. This early research was transmitting in the framework of
relational database systems. The relational data model, being a declarative and high level model for
specifying the logical structure of data, made the development of simple declarative languages for
specifying access control policies. These earlier models and the unrestricted models in particular,
introduced some important principles that set apart access control models for database systems from
access control models adopted by operating systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the initial format of familiar commands for grant and revoke of authorizations that are today part
of the SQL standard. Next research proposals have extended this basic model with a variety of
features, such as negative authorization, role based and task based authorization temporal
authorization, and context aware authorization. This weakness makes unrestricted access controls
vulnerable to malicious attacks, such as Trojan horses embedded in application programs. A Trojan
horse is a program with an apparent or actually very useful function, which contains some hidden
functions exploiting the genuine authorizations of the invoking process. Sophisticated Trojan horses
may leak information by means of covert channels, enabling unauthorized access to data. A covert
channel is a component or feature of the system that is misused to encode or represent information for
illegal transmission, without breaching the stated access control policy. A large variety of components
or features can be misused to create covert channels, including the system clock, operating system
inter process communication primitives, error messages, the existence of specific file names, the
concurrency control mechanism, and so on. The area of compulsory access control and multilevel
database systems tried to address such problems through the development of access control models
based on information classification, some of which were also incorporated in commercial products.

Seeonee Hills Analysis
In the Seeonee Hills of India was a warm, beautiful place, where a man named Mowgli lived. He was
abandoned by his mother in the jungle when he was a baby, and spent all of his childhood growing up
with the animals. As an adult, he lives in the village with the rest of the hunting people . In the jungle
can never quite felt like he belonged amongst the people of his village. He believed something was
missing in his life. Though on this day, Mowgli felt extra odd and out of place there in the village.
As Mowgli was putting on his moccasins to go catch fish in a nearby river, he thought to himself, I m
tired of this repetitive routine, in this dull village, where nothing out of the ordinary ever happens.
Every day he wakes up and works, and after that he comes home and tends to his wife and kids; there
is never any time for exploring or trying new things. The longing for adventure is always lingering. I
remember, growing up in the jungle there were always exciting new things to see and do. There was a
time where I was with Bagheera, one of my mentors of the jungle, and the water truce was called.
There is only a water truce when all the rivers are almost dry. The rules of ... Show more content on

Baloo and all our memories we shared. I come to a halt and a warm tear rolls down my cheek. In the
vast jungle, standing perfectly still all in can think about is Baloo. Soon panic starts to arise in the
village. Mowgli s disappearance is a shock to all. We all thought he was so content here. His wife and

Hypocrisy In Tess Of The DUrbervilles
In religion // What damned error, but some sober brow // Will bless it, and approve it with a text //
Hiding the grossness with fair ornament? writes William Shakespeare in the Merchant of Venice.
Since Christianity s founding, the religion has often been plagued with corruption and intrigue. Hardy,
like Shakespeare, held a jaded view of Christianity in society and was skeptical of its power and
morality. In Tess of the D Urbervilles, Thomas Hardy employs biblical allusions, color symbolism,
and ironic characterization, to illustrate that religion is often laden with hypocrisy and evils of its own,
leading to corruption within the church and corruption of its teachings. Hardy s uses bible verses
ironically, adding to his view that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The phrase this is adapted from, Oh how the mighty have fallen from 2 Samuel 1:27 and is said in
respect to Saul and his son Jonathan, who are killed in battle. Saul is meant to be the king of Israel, but
God revokes Saul s right to rule, and Jonathan s friend David becomes the next in line. Saul tries many
times to kill David to renew his own line, and even tries to kill Jonathan, leading to resentment
between father and son. This quote not only represents the decline of the D Urberville line but the ruin
of the Durbeyfield family through the strife between father and heir, as Sir John is a drunk and truly
believes that Tess should marry a nobleman, setting the whole plot in motion. Tess falls from grace
when she becomes pregnant, while Alec rises in station when he becomes a preacher. The mighty and
oldest line of the D Urberville branch ends, while the newer branch, represented by David in the bible
story, flourishes. The same sin rewards Alec while punishes Tess and her family, representing the
hypocrisy in how the church treats both genders. The Bible verses in the novel serve to exemplify the
hypocrisy that exists within the Christian church. Moreover, Hardy s comparison of Angel and Tess to
Adam and Eve adds to his view that religion is an insubstantial and superficial institution. First, Tess
and Angel view each other ... as if they were Adam and Eve (130). In the Bible story, Adam is the
more moral of the two, while

Junot Diaz s The Money
Junot Diaz is a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is very widely known for this
writing and his background story. In Junot Diaz s story, The Money: Starting Out, he shares a story
from his childhood. The story is about when Diaz and his family had just recently moved to New
Jersey from Santo Domingo and they felt as if they were targeted. The neighborhood that they were
living in was not the top of the line, lots of robberies were taking place. The Diazs themselves are a
victim of robbery, but in the end, everything turns out to be good. Throughout Diaz s story the reader
can better understand and sympathize with this family because of the many uses of pathos and ethos in
the passage.
The context of this story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diaz informed us by providing some background of this childhood. He also explains to us that robbery
happens all the time, In our neighborhood, cars and apartments were always getting jacked, and the
kid stupid enough to leave a bike unattended for more than a tenth of a second was the kid who was
never going to see that bike again (Diaz 385). Thankfully many families do not have to think about
their personal items being stolen, but that does not mean that other families are always completely
safe.
It seemed as if the Diaz s were never safe. The stories focus is about a time that one of his best friends
stole his money, even though he thought he never would. His friend knew how bad his family was
struggling and he still stole from him. In the end Diaz regained his money and belongings, but this just
showed how much of a real friend he was. This family was already struggling and now they are hit
with a burden of theft. This just goes to show that anything can happen, but the outcome depends on
how people handle it.
The purpose of this story is to show that your childhood does not define your whole life. Diaz
obviously had a rough childhood at times. Especially moving into the United States from the
Dominican. His family did not have many funds, to give him all the things he needed. This did not
stop him from succeeding on his own though. Diaz went on to graduate high school, something that

Chariots Of Fire Essay
Chariots of Fire presents two main characters that are vastly different from one another. Eric Liddel is
a religious man who values his beliefs and runs for God s pleasure. Harold Abrahams is a determined
Jewish man who runs to prove that he is more than what others see. The director purposely films
Chariots of Fire by presenting characterization in Abrahams character by using different dialogue and
internal action, and in Eric s character by using different external action and the reactions of other
characters towards him. In Chariots of Fire, the director portrays the life of two contrasting characters
that both run for completely different reasons. Harold Abrahams is one of these dedicated runners and
runs against jewish prejudice. Abrahams ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eric s characterization is shown through the use of his external actions and how other characters react
towards him. Eric s strong values and beliefs set him apart from other characters, such as Abrahams,
in the film. The external action of a character is the most obvious form of characterization. This type
of characterization works with Eric s character because his actions, large and small, say a lot about his
character in the film. Eric s religion says that Sunday, the day of Sabbath, should be a day of rest and
no sports. Although Eric s race is scheduled on a Sunday he refuses to run due to his beliefs. This
action of refusing to run emphasizes his character s dedication to religion and to God. Eric s purpose
in running for God results in people respecting him and admiring him. His sister, Jennie, admires him
due to his missionary work and at the end of the film she believes that his running brings God
pleasure. When other characters talk to Eric, such as other athletes, they respect his beliefs and values.
The admiration for Eric from all these characters is obvious at the conclusion of the film when his
victory is so celebrated. The emphasis on Eric s beliefs and values further differentiates himself from

Analysis Of It s Like Everyone
It s like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story
makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story (Patrick RuthFuss). When a baby is
brought into this world, the only piece of identity it attains from its mother and father is its name. The
rest of the way through life, that person which has been given life, has to find their own path and their
own identity. Although parents teach very dignified lessons of values, it is up to him/her to establish if
they want to adopt the ideals of his/her parents. Lisa Hill from Monkey Beach (Eden Robinson) goes
through the same dilemma that every child that becomes a teenager goes through, the search for
identity. In Monkey Beach, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lisa Hill has confronted many different forms of inequality throughout the novel. Lisa was walking
through a strip mall in a part of town called Terrace when she saw her friend Erica being chased by a
car full of white men verbally harassing her. Lisa then stepped in to stand up to the men while Erica
called her bigger brother. During that whole ordeal there were many bystanders who did not lend a
hand. Later that day, Lisa went to go meet her aunt Trudy when she told her that If you were some
little white girl, that would be true, but you re a mouthy Indian, and everyone thinks we re born sluts.
Those guys would have said you were asking for it and hot off scot free (Robinson, 255). Although
Lisa was just trying to protect her friend, no one decided to stand up to the white men and help a
teenage girl although there were many people watching. This displays the inequality that the regular
man feels towards the Indians. Furthermore, when Lisa s aunt Trudy was just a small teenager herself,
Lisa s grandmother was forced to send her away to a residential school because she was an Indian.
Trudy did not realize this and put her blame and hate on her mother cause a rift between her and her
mother. If Indian children were allowed to go to regular public schools and had equality between
different ways of life, the fissure between a mother and a daughter would not have been created.
Along with that Eden Robinson also fought for the equality for

Political Systems Thematic Essay
History and culture of many nations and societies have been affected by political systems. In the
1600s 1700s two political systems, absolute monarchy of France and the constitutional monarchy of
England, have affected Europe. Absolute monarchy is when a ruler rules with absolute, or total, power.
A constitutional monarchy is when laws limit the power of the monarch so they cannot rule absolutely.
These two political systems affected not only their own country, but the whole of Europe as well.
Mainly under the influences of the two leaders Louis XIV, Charles II, James II, Prince William, and
Queen Mary.
One of the most known rulers that ruled with absolute power in France was Louis XIV. Louis ruled for
many years and was considered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jean Baptiste Colbert, the minister of finance, helped Louis the most in achieving these goals. He
expanded manufacturing, placed high tariffs on imported goods, encouraged people to move to
colonies, and supported mercantilism. After Colbert s death, Louis created a policy which slowed
down France s economic progress. He also cancelled the Edict of Nantes, which protected the
religious freedom of Huguenots. When Louis got rid of the Edict of Nantes, it caused many Huguenot
artisans and business people to flee the country, leaving France without many skilled workers.Another
thing that Louis did was build the palace of Versailles, a huge palace that stretched for 500 yards.
Louis also forced his country to fight several wars, considering France had an army other countries
could not even match. The other countries were eventually able to join forces and match France s
strength, in which Louis began to impose more taxes to pay for army finances. When Louis eventually
died, he left behind a legacy yet he also left behind many debts and a ruined France. Although France
was now a power to be reckoned with, the debts and bad harvests had an affect on the people and they
had resentment because of the royal abuse they took.
One could define a constitutional (limited) monarchy as a rule when the King or Queen s power was
limited by law, document, and legislature. One could also characterize a limited monarchy as when the

The Importance Of The Re-Organization Of Society
The Fabians believed strongly in the importance of the re organization of Society by creating local
governments and working for the extinction of private property. They desired municipalization of
Land and local government according to the Fabian Parliamentary League s Tract, The True Radical
Programme (1887, p. 7). By giving power to local governments, the Society felt national wealth could
be better circulated and citizens could be better represented. This radically modern notion is expressed
in this strongly worded declaration, So long as the government is not government by the people, of the
people, for the people, it can matter little to the people whether it s a seat at the capital or at the local
centres (Fabian Parliamentary League, 1887, p. 4). As with many Socialist platforms, land and private
property were constant issues. Similar to their radical neighbours the SDF, the Fabians believed in the
extinction of private property meaning the removal of property from individual ownership and placing
it back into the hands of the community (Shaw, 1899, p. 30). Another major objective of the
movement was creating a more equal society where men and women were equal, and all had the right
to vote ( The Guardian , 2001). Suffrage for ALL was incredibly important for the Fabians because
they saw women and the poor to be equally affected by governmental laws (Fabian Parliamentary
League, 1887, p. 5). The Fabian Parliamentary League continued its passionate discourse on

Interpreting Dinosaur Habitats
1) How are sedimentary rocks used to interpret past dinosaur habitats? How is the geologic principle
of uniformitarianism used for this type of interpretation?
Sedimentary rocks interpret dinosaur habitats through encased environmental structures of the past.
Through sedimentary rocks, paleoecologists can examine the arranged formation of sedimentary
structures to specify what type of environment the dinosaurs lived in. An example of a specific
sedimentary rock structure can be seen through formed weathering and ripple marks by how wind and
sand formed distinct patterns in the past layered sediment. These arrangements provide interpretations
on the structure of the sediment and the habitat of encased fossils, through modern day comparisons ...

Ichnology, the study of trace fossils, is the principal study in following and learning about trace fossils
and how these fossil types indicate habitats. Ichnologists can use trace fossils, such as a track way and

a dinosaur species preferred habitat. By examining sedimentary layers and structures, ichnologists can
use fossilized tracks to determine what specific habitat a species of dinosaur lived in. The use of

Fat Head by Tom Naughton and Super Size Me by Morgan Spurlock
As the rising epidemic of obesity has attracted considerable media attention, so has the promotion for
maintaining healthy wellbeing. Tom Naughton s documentary, Fat Head, is a stellar model of this
media attention. It examines the exact cause of weight gain, and the reliability of the Government s
nutritional guidelines. The contention of Fat Head is that the U.S Government and Morgan Spurlock
(the creator of Super Size Me) present misleading information. However, Naughton s bias becomes
apparent through the careful selection of film techniques, and the silencing of certain characters, who
may express opposing viewpoints. The ideal audience of this documentary, parents and concerned
parties such as medical professionals, are invited to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The refuting of Spurlock s criticism of McDonald s is also shown in the scene, where Naughton
requests for Spurlock s food log. In this segment, where there is on screen text accounting the number
of hanged up calls, the audience is positioned to believe that Naughton has been refused repetitively
by the representatives of Super Size Me. From this, viewers are given the impression that Spurlock is
a liar, as Spurlock is unwilling to provide Naughton the food log. While Spurlock is mentioned, but he
himself is not given the opportunity to put forward his point of view. Nowhere in this scene do
viewers hear Spurlock s refusal, or the actual conversation between the agents of Super Size Me and
Naughton. It is clear from this scene that Fat Head is one sided.
Another instance in Fat Head that effectively portrays Spurlock negatively is through the director s
body language while criticising Super Size Me. Much of the time, Naughton has his hands on his hips
with his eyebrows synclined. This gesture connotes anger. Viewers perceive through Naughton s
aggression that the information addresses in Super Size Me is mendacious, readily accepting
Naughton s invited reading. Moreover, the employment of the camera at medium, eye level shot is to
enable viewers to feel as though they are interacting with the real Tom Naughton. This sense of
closeness makes his intended message more convincing.

What Was The Role Of Women In The 18th Century
The Women present during the time period 1650 1800 were definitely the unsung heroes who not only
revolutionized France, but also made several contributions to Western and several other societies.
Women made several contributions mainly in literature, politics, visual arts, and society. Women
during 18th century made a remarkable contribution to literature, which involved the philosophes
assisting Diderot in the creation of the Encyclopedie in France, which has 72,000 entries that involve a
wide variety of information on specific subjects such as political theory (Fiero, 144). Additionally,
Chatelet produced an annotated French translation of Newton s Principia which was regarded as a
monumental achievement (Fiero, 144). On the political spectrum, Mary Wollstonecraft, from Britain,
pushed for the equality of women by writing the Vindications of the Rights of Woman, which in turn,
challenged the female stereotypes made by misogynistic males and proved that women are equal to

Colonial Cuistice In Rikka-Tikki-Tavi By Rudyard Kipling
Colonial discourse is the study of how one particular region, that is Europe, is influencing other

though there is the study about how European influence other people, there is also always an opposing

Sports help people relax and have fun. In Italy it is very evident that the people are hard workers, but
they still do love to play! The Italians are very fond of many sports. They are very enthusiastic about
many of the same sports as we are in the United States. The sports that Italians are most fanatic about
in every day life are soccer, tennis, swimming, boxing, rowing, boating, golf, and basketball.
(DiFranco, 103). Some of these sports are new to the Italians, however, they are catching on quite
quickly and starting to be played at higher levels of competition. The Italians range of levels go from

(Wallechinsky, 298 302). As seen the Italians have had some significant exhibitions in the Olympics,
this shows that they have a great compassion for many sports. This also says that by having such a
great compassion about a wide variety of sports, it would make them a good candidate for the next
Olympics, because they would want to make sure that everything was perfect for the athletes and the
fans.
Soccer (a.k.a.: football) is the most popular spectator sport in Italy. (Travis, 160). In Italy, soccer has
more fans by far than any other sports played in this country. Statistics show that it has more fans than
the fans of American football, baseball, basketball, and hockey put together. (DiFranco, 98). All major
cities in Italy, and most smaller cities, have teams that play in one league or another. The league games
are played every Sunday afternoon in September through May. (Fodor s, 38). Every Sunday the teams
play under the eyes of sellout crowds of 100,000 fans or more per game. (Stein, 83). However, the
excitement of the crowds can rise to an exuberant level at times. The fans are known to hold massive
celebrations after a big win such as a World Cup or other international tournaments. (Travis, 160). In
many of the celebrations the fans were known to go into the streets of Italy and sometimes get out of
control. For example, after the World Cup in Spain the Italians filled the streets to

Gentrification Is The Process Of Taking Distressed Inner...
Gentrification is the process of taking distressed inner city neighborhoods and upgrading them to be
more attractive to upscale skilled workers, and major corporations; where the neighborhood is
converted to more affluent residential use. Studies profile most gentrifiers to be affluent, young,
single, urban professionals and young, married couples who are both wage earners and have no
children or small families. Housing improvements, city service upgrades and expansion of the local
economy is often attributed to these gentrifiers. There are many New York City neighborhoods in
recent years that have gone through gentrification. Some of those neighborhoods include
Williamsburg, Downtown Brooklyn and Harlem to name a few. Gentrification can be positive for all
involved if the government is able to employ successful provisions where the negatives turn into
positives and existing members of the community won t become unable to afford to continue to live in

The Impact Of Working Environment At Drayton Manor
Impact of working environment
In addition to guarantee the working environment at Drayton Manor complies with health and safety,
employers should ensure the work environment is as comfortable as possible for its staff.
A comfortable work environment would be important to the staff at Drayton Manor because without it
if the employees of Drayton Manor s are not comfortable that would lead to their productivity levels
being low therefore decreasing their profits levels. If Drayton Manor employers do create a
comfortable work environment employees would be productive meaning that their would be an
increase of the profits that Drayton Manor makes. To increase their employees productivity levels the
employers at Drayton Manor should increase their staffs motivation levels which would then for sure
make them work more.
Accidents that occur in the working environment at Drayton Manor would commonly be caused by
things such as falling objects, hand tools and moving objects.
When the employers at Drayton Manor carry out risk assessment they should consider the risk to their
employees of being struck by falling objects.
When employers carry out risk assessments, employers must consider the risk to employees of being

The History Of World War II
To begin with second World war, or the largest war in the history of mankind, began on 1 September
1939 till 1945. It involved almost every part of the earth. World war 2 was the bloodiest conflict, more
than 40 million were found killed. The principal belligerents were the Axis powers Germany, Italy,
and Japan and the Allies France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and, to a lesser
extent, China. The war was in many respects a continuation, after an uneasy 20 year hiatus, of the
disputes left unsettled by World War II (Royde Smith). First of all, German on September 1 invaded
Poland. After that British and France declared war on September 3. In April and June 1940, German

The Importance Of Labeling Gmos
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are genetic materials; which have been altered through
biotechnology. Many crops sold around the world are genetically modified. GMOs undergo changes to
fit a specific purpose such as pest resistant crops. Despite the fact that GMOs are commonly used,
there has been many disagreements regarding whether or not they should be labeled. Although GMOs
have been deemed safe by the FDA they concluded that labeling GMOs are unnecessary, citizens
disagree and suggest GMOs should be labeled because labels provide benefits and also allow people
to have positive attitudes regarding GMOs; also not labeling GMOs infringes on an American citizen s
freedom and the labels could start a governmental public campaign ... Show more content on

In Consumers Call on FDA to Label GE Foods Colin O Neil feels that not labeling GMOs infringes on

whether their food contains genetically engineered ingredients based on the fact that the FDA is not

were not materially different from non GE foods and thus did not need to be labeled (O Neil 31);
Colin O Neil rebutted We as consumers no longer base our decisions solely on what we can see or
taste or smell, so why should the FDA continue to do so? (O Neil 32) The FDA believed that GE foods

Americans want GE foods to be labeled and consumers do not expect food to be genetically
engineered absent labeling (O Neil 32) even with a great portion of American citizens wanting labels
the FDA still insisted that there was no need despite the fact it is the duty of the FDA to protect

The Omnivore s Dilemma By Michael Pollan Food Culture
In 2009 food detective Michael Pollan published an eye opening book called The Omnivore s
Dilemma. According to Pollan, we don t know what to eat because unlike other cultures around the
world, Americans lack a stable food culture. Food cultures are traditions that are passed down from
generation to generation to teach us how to cook and eat food. These cultures can help you stay
healthy and more importantly, enjoy your food.
In chapter 8 of the Omnivore s Dilemma, Michael Pollan explains how other cultures like the French
have traditions that have been passed down for generations. For instance, in chapter 8 Michael Pollan
says that You ll never see a French person eating while driving or walking down the street. They

The classic tale of the hero s journey can be recognized in almost every situation. It is not only
apparent through daily life and historical events, but in this circumstance, a fictional novel, as well. As
an epic voyage, it can be recognized in the vast majority of books throughout the course of history.
One specific example where it is carefully and intricately exhibited is in Sue Monk Kidd s novel, The
Secret Life of Bees, in which a young woman s search for acceptance and the truth becomes a heart
warming chronicle. Through the obstacles and people she meets, Lily is able to experience the trials

Compare And Contrast Detroit Metro Area
The Detroit Warren Livonia, MI Metro Area and the Washington Arlington Alexandria, DC VA, MD
WV Metro Area are two metropolitan areas in the United States that are completely different from one
another. Some major differences about the two areas include, poverty levels, educational levels,
percentage of people unemployed and the populations life expectancy. The historical background to
each of these areas relates to how they are developed today. Detroit has been in poverty since the
failure of the auto industry back in the 1960s. The failure of the auto industry began when the three
big companies, Ford, Chrysler and General Motors left Detroit city because of new automation
advancements. New technological advancements allowed cars to be built with fewer workers and
because of that, tens of thousands of people lost their jobs. This caused a majority of the population to
leave Detroit in hopes of finding employment. Since a majority of the population relocated so did
businesses because they did not have enough employees, which hurt the economy and raised
unemployment. Today, Detroit has the highest concentrated poverty rate among the top 25 metro areas
and the highest percentage of unemployment, the HDI map shows that 16.6% of the population are
living in poverty and 17% of the Detroit metro area are unemployed. This could be because ... Show

(CITE) Despite its success the Canadian health care system has some concerns associated with it and
It is important for policy makers, and the health management sector to address these issues and
provide solutions for them. Health management is a complex social goal, and a major initiative in
Canada, which is heavily relied on the public sector. One of the major issues the health care system is
currently facing the over crowded emergency departments and extremely long waiting times. . In this
paper I will discuss the issue of overcrowded hospitals as a results of the rising population of the
elderly. Many of our hospitals are over crowned, there are long waiting time, and the elderly are not
provided with sufficient care. Overcrowding will place an increasing amount of burden on the hospital
by delaying testing and diagnosis times, creating a shortage of nurses and doctors, and it may also
have a negative impact on the financial state of the hospital.
Why is it an Issue?
According to statistic Canada their will be a dramatic change in the senior population in Canada, this
mean that the entire baby boomer generation will become part of Canada s senior population which is
those aged above 65. Furthermore in 2010 statistics Canada reported that by the year 2036 the seniors
population will increase to about 23 25%. This change in the aging population of Canada has a huge
impact on the health care services. Many seniors require regular access to health care

The Premise Of Cannister s Book Is That When Teenagers...
The premise of Cannister s book is that when teenagers matter, everything changes in student ministry.
Cannister uses the introduction to look at four basic core principles that have lasted almost a century.
First there is having a clarity of purpose which, without, a youth ministry will crumble. Second is
exemplifying authentic leadership. This is not someone being perfect but genuine with youth. Third is
the overall goal: transformation of lives. Lastly there is creating and maintaining genuine relationships
with students. These four core principles have been beacons of light for youth pastors/ministries for
decades. In chapter one, Cannister claims that when teenagers matter, student ministries will thrive.
Cannister begins by showing what most churches are doing by outlining the good enough principle, a
mentality and form of organization that states that 80% of youth/parents will be satisfied with only
20% of the effort, much like a consumer. Cannister, however, advocates for a comprehensive youth
ministry or a ministry that does not just focus on safety, what the parents want, or only the Christian
community but one that will go out and reach the lost integrating them into the Christian family. A
comprehensive youth ministry can only come about when a church is willing to be involved and when
a youth pastor, parents, and youth follow the Great Commandment, Commission, and Charge as
outlined in Scripture. Chapter two revolves around the idea that when teenagers

Howard Hughes H 4 Hercules Research Paper
1.) Explain why this person has had significant impact. When most people think of Howard Hughes,
they probably don t think of a billionaire Filmmaker, instead the thing that comes to mind is most
likely the Hughes H 4 Hercules, better known as the Spruce Goose. This aircraft is one of the largest
ever constructed and it was first flown over 70 years ago (H 4 Hercules Flying Boat, n.d.). This
aircraft, although one of Hughes most impressive, was merely one of countless aviation records he set.
Hughes s first aviation record was merely a straight line speed record of 212 mph, but this sparked his
interest leading to countless other records (Fame, 2017). One of these included a transcontinental
flight record set in 1937 which stood through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One great example is the aim to build streamlined aircraft capable of high speed and efficiency.
Hughes rigorous pursuit of building the very best aircraft continues to this day. Almost all modern
aircraft use flush rivets and smooth streamlined surfaces to cut through the air. Another of Hughes s
contributions was simply inspiring public interest in aviation. The Hughes H 4 Hercules, although not
a success by most defections, still motivates public interest in aviation today. Displayed in a museum,
what was for a very long time the world s largest aircraft is a sight to behold and will probably inspire
future aviators for decades to come. Before that his movie Hell s Angels immeasurably changed the
public perception of aviation, and although it is not known for sure, that movie was likely an
inspiration to many who have changed the path of aviation for the better. Another of Hughes s
contributions, although not directly related to aviation, Hughes Electronics Corporation founded what
is one of the largest providers of satellite television, DirecTV. Hughes had a space division as early as
the 60 s, but it wasn t until after his death that this division split off. Hughes Electronics Corporation
was founded in 1985 and built primarily satellites, up until it stepped into the satellite telecom service
sector (Amir, n.d.). As of the year 2000, forty percent of all operating satellites

Political Beliefs Of Alexander Hamilton Vs. Thomas Jefferson
Alexander Hamilton vs. Thomas Jefferson
Democracy is defined as, A government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and
exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving
periodically held free elections (Merriam Webster). This means that the basis for American
government is a firm belief in the common people that they have the knowledge and power to choose
leaders to guide the government in the right direction. In the 1790s there was a monumental political
debate over whether the constitution should be ratified and if in needed a bill of rights, and at the
center of the debate was Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. While they both believed
democracy was the best form of government for the new nation, both men had very different ideas
about how to shape the government and its entities. Thomas Jefferson is the better spokesperson a
democratic government because of his political beliefs and inherent belief in human reason, a
conviction that is not held by Alexander Hamilton.
Thomas Jefferson was a enthusiastic supporter of American democracy through his support for the
anti federalist and belief that the citizens had the capacity to choose a leader. Jefferson s party, the anti
federalists, would only endorse the constitution if there was also a bill of rights written. They wanted
to protect civil liberties of the everyday farmer. This proves Jefferson s support of democracy because

The Wizarding Gene
The wizarding gene is not passed down in blood like how it is explained in the books. It is a gene,
copied in families that carry the recessive code. A gene is informally defined as a unit of heredity that
is transferred from a parent to offspring and determines some characteristics of the offspring (CITE).
An Allele is one of two or more alternative forms of a gene that arise by mutation and are found at the
same place on a chromosome. To be a wizard, a person must be born Homozygous Recessive,
meaning their DNA must have two copies of the same gne, but not a dominant alelle. If the gene for
magic was an M , their code would appear as mm. A real life example of this would be eye color. A

Because one can be a wizard with only one gene expression, the trait could be sex linked, passed
down through the X and Y chromosomes that determine our gender. In modern science, it wasa
determined that sex lined genes passed through the X chromosome were not recessive nor dominant;
just sex linked. (Dobyns 11). Because there were previous studies on sex linked traits, like how two
parents with color blindnesss (recessive) have a daughter or son, they could also inherit color blindess
(CITE). Because of new studies showing that the x linked traits to not follow the same rules as normal
inheritance, the original theory presented in this paper holds true. The number of female and male
wizards is proportional, but if the trait was sex linked, then every family with any wizarding genes
would have all boys born become wizards, while only females who were born to two wizard parents
could have magic. Because this is not true in the book, as seen with the number of half blood and

The Influence Of The Internet
The internet was created to change way we work everyday. It has become the way we work, think, and
communicate to one another. Just about every job requires you to use the internet to get the job done
easier, and more efficiently. Without life these days would be extremely difficult. What is the internet?
The Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol
suite to link devices worldwide. Who invented the internet? Two men by the names of Robert E. Kahn
and Vint Cerf are the creators of the internet. Why was the internet created? The first workable
prototype of the Internet came in the late 1960s with the creation of ARPANET, or the Advanced
Research Projects Agency Network. Originally funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, ARPANET
used packet switching to allow multiple computers to communicate on a single network. (Andrew)
Reason number one why the internet has changed our lives, is because we as human beings are not
patient enough. The internet allows us to contact others and get a response sooner than we would if we
were to write a letter and put it through the mail system. The internet can bring us entertainment,
Information, and the insight faster than anything, but the quickness of the information hurt us; in fact,
Most people have lost their patients with society, because they are used to the way they gather
information from the internet, and are not able to be patient when the internet is not able to deliver

The Consequences Of Herding Behavior Of Financial Traders
Abstract:
This report sets out to analyze the causes and the consequences of herding behavior of financial
traders, emphasizing the impact on financial markets efficiency and stability. Moreover, it contributes
to formalize the role of policy makers, how they react to herding behavior and what measures they can

Section 2 analyzes origin and consequences of herding and its repercussion on Efficient Market

Therefore, as presented by West (1988), it is necessary to identify a behavioral model which can
highlight the importance and the impact of psychological and irrational behaviors that can explain the
latest financial crisis and asset bubbles. The greatest support of what can be defined as Behavioral
Finance comes from Shiller (1984), who believes that financial behaviors are influenced by social
movements. To explain return patterns that are anomalous from the classical viewpoint of EMH, it is
necessary to introduce either market imperfections or failures of human rationality (Hirshleifer et.al,

can be identified as the cause of many stock markets bubbles and crashes. Moreover herding leads to
unhedgeable systemic risk and causes markets failure to reflect all relevant information.
Section 2
Herd behavior occurs when investors, firms or analysts take the same action and/or base their
decisions according to others behaviors (Spyrou, 2013) and follow the crowd (i.e. switching from

investors trading strategies rather than acting upon their own beliefs and private information.

Analysis Of The Poem Boat Of Cypress
Boat of Cypress Explication Throughout history, authors have used poetry as a way to express
themselves and how they think or feel in an artistic way. There have been poems written about almost
every feeling a person has ever had which is why poetry is so popular, because it describes feelings in
a way many people cannot. In present day, people from all around the world look back at old poetry
and try to define the true meanings behind poems using literally elements and context clues to aid
them, this is known as explication. The writing named Boat of Cypress is a famous poem written long
ago by an unknown author, and composed about a woman full of misery and despair from her personal
point of view. Throughout this poem, the readers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theme of obligation really stood out while during the last stanza of the poem. The speaker voices
her obligation when she by saying, I think on it in quiet, /I cannot spread wings to fly away, (29,30).
These lines show that the speaker has many thoughts that she does not verbalize, and that she cannot
get those thoughts out of her head. The speaker feels obligated to keep all these things in so she does
not upset her family, and be met only with their rage. . Secondly, the author uses word choice to show
the speakers overall sorrow. Throughout the whole poem there are word scattered everywhere that
describe the general emotion of sorrow, some of those word being restless (19), torment , and troubled
(4). These words instantly give the connotation of feelings like despair and sadness. The speaker also
uses literary elements such as simile to express sorrow, like when she says These troubles of the heart/
are like unwashed clothes (27, 28). Everyday people usually do not pay much mind to unwashed
clothes, and usually look at it as something unimportant or irrelevant. When the speaker compares her
internal troubles to something that holds little importance to everyday life and is also seen as
unpleasant, the readers really get a look into the sorrow and sadness that the speaker is truly feeling.
The speaker also uses word choice to help show the readers the true intensity of what she is going
through.

preparation for the gun range, to achieve those three attributes, scouts must pass a gun safety test that
is given by Mr. Luis. Scouts who pass their test will be able to go on to the shooting range and use live

Thucydides On The Peloponnesian War
The plague of Athens was an event in history that countless authors went on to write about.
Recounting the death and destruction of not only the people, but their civilization as well. Starting at
the beginning of 431 BCE, historian Thucydides wrote his take on it. In his work The History of the
Peloponnesian War Thucydides talks about the social and political consequences of the plague, a
personal account on the experiences he lived through. Anywhere during 99 55 BCE poet Lucretius had
his work On the Nature of the Universe end with an account of the Athenian plague. Lucretius s
account was nearly an exact translation of Thucydides description of the plague. But whereas

It ends with the destruction of a civilization as if it were part of a natural order. Lucretius s edition
removed any mention of location or the Peloponnesian War. No mention of where it began or the
possible causes of it, and gives his own thoughts on it. He thinks of it a natural occurrence in life. Now
I ll explain the nature of diseases... I have shown above that there are atoms of many things needful to
support our life, and, in contrast, many must fly around that bring disease and death . His thoughts on
the disease are an actuality of disease, contrasting Thucydides claims that this plague was was too
severe for human nature . Lucretius removing the setting, the unnecessary and the idea of cruelness,
tells a story purer and more personal. In between the symptoms Lucretius made sure to add the mental
state of the victims where all the power of mind and all the body began to faint, being on death s very
threshold. Constant companion of these intolerable woes was torment of anxiety, and laments were
mixed with groans as mind and body suffered . Bring the psychological condition of the victims
allows people to feel more deeply about what the situation when reading his account. Lucretius writes
poetically the plague, and brings an emotional side to it, showing the suffering inside the mind and
outside in the

Plato And The Cave
In Plato s article The Republic he describes that we all exist as part of a society in which he refers to
as a cave. Plato says in the opening of this article Let me show in a figure how far our nature is
enlightened and unenlightened . With our heads restrained to a wall and not capable to perceive our
surrounding, we accept as true the shadows to be reality. He then goes on to explain that with a teacher
is the only way that we can move from our state of being a prisoner and moving into a new reality
beyond the cave and that we would discover the true reality to be painful, and then want to return to
the state of deception of the cave. He explains this by saying Plato also believes that we are all have
the ability within ourselves to

Hypocrisy In Tess Of The DUrbervilles In religion // What damned error, but some sober brow // Will bless it, and approve it with a text // Hiding the grossness with fair ornament? writes William Shakespeare in the Merchant of Venice. Since Christianity s founding, the religion has often been plagued with corruption and intrigue. Hardy, like Shakespeare, held a jaded view of Christianity in society and was skeptical of its power and morality. In Tess of the D Urbervilles, Thomas Hardy employs biblical allusions, color symbolism, and ironic characterization, to illustrate that religion is often laden with hypocrisy and evils of its own, leading to corruption within the church and corruption of its teachings. Saul tries many times to kill David to renew his own line, and even tries to kill Jonathan, leading to resentment between father and son. This quote not only represents the decline of the D Urberville line but the ruin of the Durbeyfield family through the strife between father and heir, as Sir John is a drunk and truly believes that Tess should marry a nobleman, setting the whole plot in motion. Tess falls from grace when she becomes pregnant, while Alec rises in station when he becomes a preacher. Some major differences about the two areas include, poverty levels, educational levels, percentage of people unemployed and the populations life expectancy. The historical background to each of these areas relates to how they are developed today. Detroit has been in poverty since the failure of the auto industry back in the 1960s. The failure of the auto industry began when the three big companies, Ford, Chrysler and General Motors left Detroit city because of new automation advancements. New technological advancements allowed cars to be built with fewer workers and because of that, tens of thousands of people lost their jobs. This caused a majority of the population to leave Detroit in hopes of finding employment. Cannister uses the introduction to look at four basic core principles that have lasted almost a century. First there is having a clarity of purpose which, without, a youth ministry will crumble. Second is exemplifying authentic leadership. This is not someone being perfect but genuine with youth. Third is the overall goal: transformation of lives. Lastly there is creating and maintaining genuine relationships with students. These four core principles have been beacons of light for youth pastors/ministries for decades. In chapter one, Cannister claims that when teenagers matter, student ministries will thrive. Cannister begins by showing what most churches are doing by outlining the good enough principle, a mentality and form of organization that states that 80% of youth/parents will be satisfied with only 20% of the effort, much like a consumer. Cannister, however, advocates for a comprehensive youth ministry or a ministry that does not just focus on safety, what the parents want, or only the Christian community but one that will go out and reach the lost integrating them into the Christian family. A comprehensive youth ministry can only come about when a church is willing to be involved and when a youth pastor, parents, and youth follow the Great Commandment, Commission, and Charge as outlined in Scripture.
