Group Owner Responsibilities
Define descriptively what kind of external partner is appropriate for these groups. We can also
control some of this system properties side with the defined email addresses (i.e. *partner.com),

Require a signed confidentiality/non disclosure agreement with the partners ( we need to still check

Two Group Owners Are Required to Monitor Content Posted
It s always a good idea to have two group owners, so one can cover when the other is not in the
office. For externally accessible groups this is a requirement. Both owners must have completed the
security training, and both must enable notifications and commit to review any content posted in
their group promptly. If anything inappropriate for viewing by group members gets posted, the

Review on My Name Is Khan
To write a review about a film which contains not only the magical combo of Shahrukh Khan
Kajol Karan Johar but also something different from melodramatic love story or usual remake of
hardcore commercial film is pleasurable. My Name Is Khan has a excellent point to a class of
audience who likes to watch Shahrukh Khan in a different characteristic. But the filmdoes not show
the excellence enough to get a perfect worship from all audiences and critics.
In the movie Rizwan embarks on a touching journey and gets the true recognition of his love, love
for Mandira_we reveal a simple but touchy characteristic of an ordinary man s love,we go through
an extra ordinary journey.
The movie has some points for which it can be appreciated.

The narrative style may influenced by The Shawshank Redemption and Godfellas. The ending is
quite good but it may be more gothic and more authentic. The journey of Khan may be showed
more smartly in accordance with happenings as sometime it has feel us melodramatic.
Cinematography is worthy off a hand of applause, specially using the background and wide angle
shot. Editing is fine. Thanks Ravi K. Chandran (director of photography) and Deepa Bhatia (editing)
Shankar Ehsan Loy has done a great job both in soundtrack and background score. Thanks to the
lyricist(Niranjan Iyengar and Javed Akhtar) The songs such as Noor e Khuda blend western bar
blues and techno sounds with Indian classical styles such as Sufi and Hindustani. The soundtrack
is thus representative of the indie fusion genre . Unlike Karan Johar s other films, this film has no
lip sync songs. All the songs are in background. Tere Naina is a good one.
In short The content of My Name Is Khan is diametrically opposite to whatever Karan Johar done
in the past. My Name Is Khan is not all about terrorism, or 9/11. It s about a relationship between
two people, between an individual and the State, and between an individual and the country. In
short, there the three important components: love story, Islam and a mild form of autism.
You can watch it. Sometime it is impressive, dramatic, a little bit slow,

Notes On Sea Kayaking Force Wind
Kayaking
When everyone hears the word kayaking they all think about one type of boat and one type of
kayaking and they are sea kayaking and a sit on top. Let s talk about sea kayaking before boats and
different types of equipment shall we? Sea kayaking to most kayakers is an unknown place. People
who kayak don t generally think of going out on the sea. Either because they think that the tides
will drag them out or that it is to much work to move your boat, to these people I say that this is
absolutely not true and it is no harder to move on the sea than to move on a flowing river.
admittedly on a river you don t have big waves but still there is next to no difference in how hard
it is to move, and as for the tides unless you irresponsible and decide to go out in gala force wind,
then the only thing you have to think about is the current not the tide. Once you understand all of
these variables you can have tons of fun out there after all the sea is the biggest white water centre
there is.
Away from sea kayaking let s look at some of the other aspects of kayaking. There are many
different types of kayaking there is white water kayaking that is all to do with what is basically
throwing yourself down the most wildest rivers you can and praying you come out the other end
with yourself and all your stuff intact. There is also slalom which is going through gates whilst
going down a rapid, and then there is freestyle. Now personally I like freestyle it is not really the

Studying Moral Philosophy
Every person at least once in his life felt that he has done something wrong or even immoral, and
was encouraged to change his behavior. Even as a child many of us were constantly told: Think
about your behavior! This reminder helps realize that one of the most powerful determinants of
human behavior stems from our need to justify our actions. This feeling of discomfort caused by
performing a certain action is called cognitive dissonance. However, sometimes justification of our
actions, caused by cognitive dissonance, leads to the thought: Who decided what is right or
wrong? or in other words: What and where is the perfect example of living a moral life? Studying
moral philosophyshows us that people hold different worldviews that contain different models of
moral justification. Based on the analysis of two philosophies, naturalism and theism, this paper
argues that theism provides a better framework for making sense of moralityand living a moral live,
because it has more explanatory power regarding the notion of free will that people have.
Naturalism mainly is though as a type of scientism, which implies that only things recognized by
scientists as real are real. Although, there are many naturalists who hold this particular view, it is
not the necessary feature of naturalism. Basically, naturalism can be divided into two components:
metaphysical and methodological. The first one is often referred as philosophical naturalism and it
is the one covered in this

Comparison Of Amazon And Ebay s Business Model
Introduction
Amazon and Ebay are two well known brands of online shopping sites. They have evolved and
grown from small firms to the giants of e commerce today. In this essay, a comparison would be
made between the two firms.
Questioning the types of business models Amazon and Ebay s have employed and how they have
evolved over time, the driving factors of change, and finally the future outlook of each firm help
distinguish the trails both firms made to become the two leaders in the market of ecommerce. They
are imperative in making a comparison between the two because despite being direct competitors in
the same market, Amazon and Ebay s business models are distinctly different. Both companies have

Amazon intended to benefit from cross selling on the basis that it already has a loyal installed
base in place. (Krishnamurthy, 2004) Amazon also benefited from economies of scope as its basic
infrastructure is already in place and highly scalable.
Three building blocks complement this: Amazon s feedback system, recommendation system and
its buy/sell system. Its recommendation system accounts for 35% of Amazon s sales as customers
are more inclined to buy a product based on the strength of the reviews of other customers. It also
brought repeated purchasers that account for 66% of sales. (Salehnejad, 2012)
Also, Amazon has emphasized on building several distribution centers around the world to hasten
deliveries (Hof and Himelstein, 1999). Coupled with its software it provides a laser like focus on
the buying experience (IT Business Edge, 2012). Such a system and service is what draws
customers towards Amazon and subsequently retains them.
In 1999, Amazon became a merchant platform by introducing zShop, a new service that allows
anyone to sell merchandise through its website . (Moore, 1999) It not only creates extra revenue
from the $9.99 monthly subscription fee from sellers but also 60 cents per transaction for
payments made with 1 Click, as well as 4.75 percent of the final sale . (Moore, 1999)

Greggs plc (Greggs) is a UK based bakery products retailing company. Through its subsidiaries,
the company produces and retails takeaway foods that include savouries, sandwiches and fresh

salt quantities. The bakery food products offered by the company comprise pasties and sausage
rolls, pies, doughnuts and drinks. It also offers health range and regional products. Greggs operates

By 1994 a significant year in the company s history Greggs consisted of more than 500 stores
operating in seven regional divisions. The stature of the company at this point was about to
increase substantially, providing a fitting tribute to the company s tenth year as a publicly traded
concern. In mid 1994, Greggs acquired the retail baking interests belonging to Allied Bakeries
Limited. The transaction nearly doubled the size of the company, adding 424 shops and a new
brand to the company s portfolio, Bakers Oven.
The acquisition of Allied Bakeries added a new dimension to Greggs business strategy, one that
contrasted and complemented the company s operations. Unlike the shops operating under the
Greggs banner, the Bakers Oven shops featured in store bakeries. Rather than assimilate the
acquired units into the company s network of large central bakeries that served a cluster of retail
shops, Darrington and his management team decided to develop Bakers Oven as a separate
brand, a decision that opened new markets for the company s expansion. Through Bakers Oven
shops and their in store bakeries, the company was able to establish a presence in markets with
lower population densities than the Greggs units demanded. For the Greggs model of a central
bakery serving satellite shops to make financial sense, numerous retail outlets needed to be in close

Cultural Imperialism And The United States
During my time in Guatemala, I believe that the social issues I came in the most contact with were
hegemony and cultural imperialism, or in other words, the influence the United States has over
Guatemala. No matter where I was, whether it be the streets of the small town of San Miguel or
the larger, more developed city of GuatemalaCity, I could not help but notice how much of an
impact the United Stateshas. Throughout the course of a month we learned a lot about the root
causes of poverty America as a hegemon through both readings and discussion. The footprint the
U.S. has left in Guatemala was apparent not only while reading and learning about the history of
Latin America, but while visiting the country itself. In addition, we had the... Show more content on

As you walk or drive through Guatemala, you are sure to see countless billboards, much like in
the U.S. Being from the U.S., this seems completely normal. The signs even looked very similar.
When I took a closer look at the signs, I noticed why they looked so similar. There were
American models on the signs. In particular, I noticed a blonde haired woman on the front of a
billboard advertising shampoo. I also noticed American women on billboards advertising jeans
and beer. When looking into bars I saw calendars with American women as well. It was impossible
not to notice the influence that the U.S. had not only on methods of advertising, but also on the
images used. In addition to noticing the U.S. hegemon while on the streets of Guatemala, I also
noticed it while living with the people. While staying with host families, we were given the
opportunity to take in an entirely different culture or so we thought. Even though living amongst
Guatemalans was a very new experience, it was also very evident that the U.S. had impacted the
traditional Guatemalan way of life. The first thing that I noticed while living with my host family
was the way they dressed. My host parents wore what can be considered as traditional clothing.
They had not let any outside influence impact their decision in clothing. However, my host siblings

Analysis Of And Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Intertextuality is a literary technique that weaves together and creates a relationship between two
texts, enriching the reader of the primary text with a look into history, and the ability to further
interpret what they are reading. According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED Online) intertext
is defined as A text considered in the light of its relation to other texts; ( intertext def. 1), meaning
that intertext is when a text is better understood by having knowledge of the text that it alludes to.
In Mary Barton, Elizabeth Gaskelluses intertextualityto further demonstrate key concepts present in
the text by alluding to works of other famous authors, well known biblical passages, and Mary
Shelley s Frankenstein. By doing this, she effectively shows how the relationship between the
working class and the middle to upper classmust be compassionate and understanding of their
shared connection in order to be successful. The use of allusions in this text is both a formal and
thematic technique. Appendix C of the Oxford World s Classics edition of this novel provides
two of William Gaskell s lectures on Lancashire dialect, showing the ways in which he and
Elizabeth intensely studied the origin of words from this region. Here, he focuses on tracing the
history of words, everything from who created it first, where it has been used since then and the
ways it is used in Lancashire at the time of the lecture. The reason this point is so important and
interesting is

Saudi Arabi A Large Amount Of Energy
Abstract
There has been an increasing growth in the development of new energy resources that can
compete with the energy demands of the growing population of the world. In this manner, a
number of steps have been taken in the major parts of the world. Solar power is been in use
since a long time. With the increasing demands of oil and gas there is a rapid decrease in the
supply of these natural resources, and hence, the authorities are looking for alternative ways to
supply the power to the exceeding population of the world. Saudi Arabia is one of the richest
countries in terms of natural resources and the supply of oil to other parts of the world is one of

Portrayal Of Women In Advertising
No one utilizes the power of sexual suggestion like car companies. In today s world, cars have
become a sex symbol, and in the race to sell their brands, the top players in the industry have
tried to out sex each other, at one point or another. Some ads don t even feature a car. Throughout
the past 60 years car advertisements have changed significantly. In the 1950s, families were used
to show cars were ideal and the way of the future, while the 1980s and 1990s showed biased fact
based arguments and hints of celebrity approval. Today, the 2000s continue to enlarge celebrity
acceptance and continue to make sex appeal more widespread mainly through the portrayal of
women. Researcher and professor Tom Reichert, explains that this upward trend... Show more

Alyssa Michaelides, a professor at Eastern Michigan University, describes this use of stereotyped
sexy women in ads and how this image [is used] to sell everything from cigarettes to clothing to
household items, and in this instance, cars (1). This ad, in some cases, can be seen as sexist, as
the car is being portrayed as a men s product and encourages the man to compare the value of the
car and the woman and the pleasure brought by both. Furthermore, it has been proven that sex
sells, and this ad is certainly no exception. In How Women Should Be Portrayed in
Advertisements, the authors discuss how women are too often portrayed as decorative [...] sex
objects, and unfortunately, this advertisement depicts just that (Roberts and Koggan 66). The
woman in this Audi ad is dressed somewhat promiscuously, and as mentioned earlier, the way she

Stephen Hacker Zombies In The Workplace Summary
While reading the article, Zombies in the Workplace by Stephen Hacker, it has come to my
attention that I may be an infected zombie. I think it developed in the workplace after some of the
employees left with zombie like features. The previous employees did not give much positive
feedback to the new employees and that they have told me that there isn t much advancement in the
workplace. All the employees were friends, but once they started to slowly go for a different job,
the others started to become lifeless.
They didn t care about what they were doing anymore. They started to cause friction in the kitchen.
Soon, the employees that started the zombie like featured were gone, but the virus was still
lingering in the air. Not all the employees are like this though. It s a part time job, so of course
there will be some zombies forming here and there until they move on to get a better job that fits

Everyone seems to be immune to the virus because they try to make it fun in the kitchen when
the going gets tough. During the holidays for example, my boss creates this thanksgiving pizza
for everyone in the kitchen. Another example is the gift exchange party they have. Everyone
pulls a card out of the hat and gets them the gift. When it s a really good day, there s a lot of
goofing off in the kitchen. Hacker s story and Nelson Quick s theories are related due to an
emotional and behavioral affect in the workplace. With Hacker s key steps to awakening the
zombie infected coworkers, it s like the moods and emotions from chapter 4 in Organizational
Behavior. The theory of emotional contagion is similar to the disease that can spread throughout an
organization. Since someone in the workplace can spread their negative emotions to others, it can
cause the organization to feel down. As long as a positive emotion, mood, or spirit is around, there
should be some sort of pulse in the zombie

The Things They Carried’ by Tim O’Brien Essay
The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien provides a insider s view of war and its distractions,
both externally in dealing with combat and internally dealing with the reality of war and its
effect on each solder. The story, while set in Vietnam, is as relevant today with the conflicts in
Iraq and Afghanistan as it was in the 1960 s and 1970 s in Southeast Asia. With over one million
soldiers having completed anywhere from one to three tours in combat in the last 10 years, the
real conflict might just be inside the soldier. O Brien reflects this in his writing technique, using a
blend of fiction and autobiographical facts to present a series of short narratives about a small unit
of soldiers. While a war story, it is also an unrequited... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of pathos and ethos in tandem strengthens his writing, but also leads to some parts being
almost tedious. As PFCs or Spec 4s, most of them were common grunts and carried the standard
M 16 gas operated assault rifle. The weapon weighed 75 pounds unloaded, 8.2 pounds with its full
twenty round magazine. Depending on numerous factors, such as topography and psychology, the
riflemen carried anywhere from twelve to twenty magazines... (O Brien 1990). This paragraph
almost drones on losing the reader in a myriad of technical mumbo jumbo and measurements
before getting back on target with the story of the soldier s life in the field. The organization of the
text can be hard to follow when he goes on about the equipment. On the other hand O Brien takes
the role of narrator; clearly he is invested emotionally in the story. However, the drama of the
moment can be diluted with too much fact and not enough emotion. Taking each character and
peeling back the soldier layers to expose us to the person underneath, he also creates moments
that are poignant and riveting. For the most part they carried themselves with poise, a kind of
dignity. Now and then, however, there were times of panic, when they squealed or wanted to
squeal but couldn t. When they twitched and made moaning sounds and covered their heads and
said Dear Jesus and flopped around on the earth and fired their weapons blindly and cringed and
sobbed and begged for the noise to stop and went wild and made

icing may have very little or major impact to aircraft performance. The types of icing that form on

They are known as rime and clear ice, and a mixture of the two is not uncommon. For rime ice to
form, an aircraft needs to fly through an area of tiny super cooled liquid drops. This super
cooled liquid is actually suspended in the cloud cover at temperatures already below freezing.
Once the aircraft surface plows through this moisture, the drops are disrupted immediately adhere
to and freeze before spreading out over the entire surface. This forms a rough and cloudy white
layer of ice known as rime. Even though the rime surface is rough and creates an airflow
disturbance, it is lighter and easier to remove by deicing equipment than clear ice. For clear ice to
form, larger sized super cooled drops would need to be encountered. These larger droplets spread
out over the surface and airfoils before freezing. This allows for the build up of a clear, hard and
slick layer of ice on the surface (Ahrens, 2009).
There are four basic condition levels of icing. A slight trace may be unnoticeable, where a light
accumulation might only be an issue during a very long flight through conditions and periodic use
of anti icing equipment may be needed to rid any accumulation. A moderate build up could be
hazardous to only short exposure and anti icing equipment and route deviation would be absolutely
required. Severe conditions could not be controlled by icing removing systems and would be the
most hazardous and would probably require immediate emergency

The Australian Government s Action Under The Asiatic Act
I have been asked to advise Summer Rayne whether (1) the Australian government would be able
to stop him from helping the Afghanistan asylum seekers by his boat s action under the ASIATIC
Act, (2) the government would be able to forfeit his speedboats under the ASIATIC Act without
returning it back to him, (3) any sales and purchase of the T shirts would be legal, and (4) overall
he would have any chances of challenging the Act.
It appears that although there are some invalid provisions sections 4(4) (5) and section 5(4) of the

The Systems Development Life Cycle
Introduction:
The systems development life cycle (SDLC) is the process of determining how an information
system (IS) can support business needs, designing the system, building it, and delivering it to
users [1]. There are several approaches (models) to the SDLC but purpose of the each approach is
the same. Each and every process comprises of phases: Planning phase, Analysis phase, Design
phase, Implementation phase, and Maintenance phase. The Planning phase is phase related to the
planning of the system such as initial system request, feasibility analysis and project plan; Analysis
phase is the phase which is related to the analysis of the system, in this phase analysis such as

It also identifies the important risks associated with the project that must be managed if the project
is approved [1].
Example:
Now to go into further details of the feasibility, we have to define the types of feasibility. There are
three types of feasibility
Technical Feasibility It is the type of feasibility which deals with the technical specifications of the
system and verifies the project feasibility within the limits of current technology? Does the
technology exist at all? How complex is the system? These are the various aspects which are dealt
in the technical feasibility of the system [1].
Economic Feasibility It is the type of feasibility which deals with money related issues in the
company. This is also known as cost benefit analysis. This attempts to answer the question Should
we build the system? Economic feasibility is determined by identifying costs and benefits
associated with the system, assigning values to them, calculating future cash flows, and measuring
the financial worthiness of the project. As a result of this analysis, the financial opportunities and
risks of the project can be understood. These are the aspect which are dealt in economic feasibility
[1].
Organizational Feasibility It is the type of feasibility which deals with how well the system
ultimately will be accepted by its users [1], how is the overall market for the system, is there any

Singapore made the right move and has become one of the world s most prosperous and
successful nations. They have strong international ties and strong international trading links.
Singapore s port is one of the busiest ports in the world. The islands population is about
5.75million many of that number are non residents which is a total of 1.6 million non residents
and 3.87 residents and those with citizenship. Singapore is the second largest densest sovereign
state in the world after Monaco. Singapore is a melting pot with its multicultural and multiracial
population. Malay is the national language and English is the working language and is also used
for education in Singapore. Other official languages are Mandarin, and Tamil, this is expected
because of the islands location being near so many Asian countries and being of easier access to
Europe. It is a perfect port for trade because it is near so many countries. Singapore is a
parliamentary republic they have the president as head of state and they have the prime minister
who is the Head of the government. Because they belonged to Britain before their legal system is

My Dream Is A Place Of Spirituality And Emotional Expression
Me: If this were my dream, a church is a place of spirituality and emotional expression. A
classroom is a place of learning and objective sharing of information. I went to school long ago
when I was young and more optimistic the years have made me more cynical. I am rushed and
unsure of what is going on in my life. I am late to class and no seems to care because I no longer
in that phase of my life, I have moved on. I am now employed in Las Angeles and no longer go
to school. The pressures in my life have changed from educational to occupational. I am now
working, no longer in school, but I still feel like the frustration of not knowing where I am going
in life. The dream represents the journey from youth and school to maturity and responsibility .
This for me was the most difficult aspect of dream work. I found this stage of the process to be
stressful and demanding. At first my mind locked up and I could not think of anything. I think my
problem was I tried too hard to offer meanings that would resonate with the dreamer. Once I
relaxed and let the meanings flow without judgement the process became easier. Stage 3A: Back
to the Dreamer. The dream is returned to the dreamer who is invited to offer her thoughts to the
group (Ullman, 2006). The dreamer will choose to respond (or not) to the group in any manners,
she wishes, and makes whatever comments she chooses (Sturzenacker, G., 2008). The role of the
group at this point is to listen to the dreamer. It is important

(www.singstat.gov.sg) There are many reasons why Singapore has been able to attract large
volumes of foreign direct investment (FDI). The most important of these are its liberal investment
climate, its stable and incorrupt political and business regime, its world class infrastructure, its
highly educated workforce, its competitive economy and its favourable tax system (which includes
special incentives for FDI). With strong government support, Singapore has one of the most
advanced, competitive and mature technology, communications and media (TCM) sectors in the
world. Although constrained by a small domestic market, Singapore s TCM industry still offers
great opportunities for equipment manufacturers, service providers and network operators,
especially in the mobile phone and digital media sectors. (Ghesquiere 2010) After the full
liberalisation of the telecommunications sector in January 2000, Singapore s mobile

Introduction
Retailing has been an important industry in any country. History would indicate that its form has
changed with time as competition was no more a local phenomenon. Retailers started moving from
being neighbourhood stores to expand their horizons nationally as well as internationally.
Technology brought revolution in the retail industry with the advent of internet. Online retailers

4.What are the effects of sales promotion activities on long term shareholder wealth?
Literature Review
Marketers have come to identify that advertising alone is not always enough to move their products
into the hands of consumers. Sales promotion is used to ensure that customers are aware of the
products that organizations offer. Sales promotional activities were originally intended as short term
incentive aimed at producing immediate consumer buying responses. Consumer promotions are
short term incentives targeted directly at consumers and they include: buy one get one free, price
discount, event sponsorship, coupons,

The Bombing Operations Carried Out by Allied Forces...
The bombing operations carried out by allied forces against Germany during the Second World
War is an important part of the war. The bombings had a dramatic impact on Germany at this time
and shaped how the Second World War was fought ultimately future warfare. During the Second
World War aerial warfare was still a new concept that had been introduced during the First World
War. Bombing was an even newer tactic, that offered the advantage of hastening the defeat of ones
own opponent without prolonged conflict and carnage on land, like trench warfare on the western

Harris was responsible for the change of tactics that the British used, shifting from precision
bombing of key economic targets to area bombing which relied on the sheer destruction that
bombing could cause and targeting cities and towns instead of key economic industries. On the
Axis side and important when looking at strategic bombing in Europe is Nazi dictator Adolph
Hitler whom rose to power during the 1930s and transformed the democratic Weimar Republic into
the Single party state that is the Third Reich. During the Second World War Hitler appointed
himself as Commander in chief of the German army making him directly in charge of Germany s
armed forces.
During the Second World War many interesting pieces of equipment and new technology came
into use by both Allied and Axis forces. After the end of precision night bombing by the RAF and
the subsequent switch to area bombing a new and interesting piece of technology known as Gee
came into use. Gee was a navigational aid that utilized radio signals from Britain in order to
determine both the aircraft s position and the location of the intended target. Gee s intended use
was to improve the accuracy of British bombers during night raids. Although Gee did work, it had a
limited range and the signals would not reach past the Rhine River. Still Gee was a success for
about 6 months until the Germans implemented countermeasures to jam the signals. Another

text book Making the Team: A Guide for Managers , it explains that in order to trust another
person you must have respect for another person because without both you have nothing. A few
examples of knowing that you have respect for your fellow team mates are when you speak of
your team in a very positive tone, when you feel as though decisions will not be made without the
consideration of all members, when you know that you feel comfortable in team presentations and
when you know that every suggestion and idea that is being made by each member is important

Impact Of Advertising On The State Of Alabama
Political ads have become something politics rely on to achieve the voters vote. Politics is a
huge part of our democracy and we take pride and joy with the power our decision has in our
government. We see the same message from each candidate that we miss to look at their body
language and what each word they say mean throughout the commercial. Every political
commercial has the same purpose, but it s always directed to specific people. It s simple to get
lost in words when you are unfamiliar with the topic so it s crucial for us to pay attention and think
critical. The politician in the video isn t running for president or congress, he s running for

Terrorism from Above vs.Terrorism from Below
Terrorism from above is known as state terrorism, state terrorism is not always a straightforward
process in fact it is usually a covert, secret policy that allows states to claim deniability when
accused of sponsoring terrorism. There are several ways to spot terrorism from above and can be
included many different aspects. Sponsors of terrorismin terrorism from above, this means the state
actively promotes terrorism and has been deemed what the U.S. call a rogue state. There are also
enablers of state terrorism, enablers are states that operate in a manner to which being part of the
problem means not just failing to cooperate fully in countering terrorism, but also doing some
things that help enable it to occur. Links between regims and terrorism can range from very clear
lines of sponsorship to indefinable associations. When a government is using terrorism as an
instrument of statecraft they can often control the degree of their involvement so that any incidents
of terrorism cannot be traced back to the government. We can then conclude that state sponsorship
of terrorism is not as straightforward as it seems. It is usually a covert policy that allows for the
state to claim plausible deniability when accused of sponsoring terrorism. Because of these
parameters a distinction must be made between state patronage and assistance. State patronage for
terrorism refers to either participation and/or encouragement of terrorism and terrorist behavior. It
basically means

The Holocene Period
As time passed, the Pleistocene period ended and the Holocene period began. Accompanying the
shift to Holocene was high temperatures that were as much as 2В°C (3.6В°F) higher than present
averages in some places. It may have been because of this climate change or because of human
intervention, or both that large game perished with the coming of the Holocene. Lacking the rich
game hunting economy that their Pleistocene predecessors had, small bands of American Indians
focused on the killing of small game, feeding of aquaculture, and an ever increasing dependency on
the collection of specific plant foods.

The transition from forager to farmer in eastern North America consisted of the domestication of
four North American seed plants, the initial emergence of food production economies between 250
B.C. and A.D. 200, and the rapid shift to a maize centered agriculture during A.D. 800 to 1100.
Eastern North America was then identified as an independent and localized center of plant
domestication. Technological advances, including water flotation technology, scanning electron
microscopy, accelerator mass spectrometer (AMS) radiocarbon dating, and stable carbon isotope
analysis of human bone have shown that this transition to food production communities is more
complex than previously thought. Native American crop plants were first cultivated in eastern
north America between 2000 and 1000 B.C. When food production economies first emerged,
local crop plants gained significant economic importance which can be seen in the increased
representation in seed assemblages. The increased consumption of maize resulted in a shift in
food production economies and maize s domination of the fields and the diets of farming
societies between A.D. 800 and 1100. Domesticated squash from as early as 8000 B.C. had been
found; it has been suggested that this first type of squash to be domesticated is a distant relative
of today s pumpkin. Squash seeds provided the early nomadic peoples a source of protein that was
easy to store and transport, and the gourd bottle provided a transportable container to hold drinking
water. Another cultigen, with the squash, is the most ancient cultigen of the New World: the bottle
gourd. It appeared by 6500 B.C. and was suggested to have been domesticated by 6000 B.C. The
established presence of this gourd, assignable to the genus Cucurbita, confirmed eastern North
America as a secondary recipient of domesticated plants and agricultural concepts from

a year of volunteering. In fact, the longevity of volunteer tutors was an average of 9.75 months,
with the shortest time being 8 days and the longest going beyond 24 months. Perhaps this indicates
the inability of Skyline to properly engage and manage tutors within the initial introductory period.
As a result, Skyline s ability to provide learners with high quality instruction is limited to those who

Perhaps, organizations should apply the classical practices of human resource management (HRM)
to the volunteer work environment (Studer, 2015). Initially, these activities start with an orientation
that allows the volunteer to gain a sense of the organization and its mission, as well as to expose
the volunteers to the organization s culture and method of operation (Brudney, 1999). Moreover,
more extensive use of orientation, training and support practices generates fewer problems had by
volunteers, which is associated with fewer problems in the retention of volunteers (Cuskelly et al.,
2006). It is important, however, for volunteer coordinators to refer back to the preliminary volunteer
interest form. Referring back to the form allows the coordinator to grasp a more comprehensive
understanding of the volunteer s motivations as well as their expertise. With this knowledge, further
trainings and development opportunities can be catered more to the various job specific tasks
volunteers are assigned to complete. Job specific trainings and developmental opportunities make
for the best use of volunteer energy as a natural resource (Brudney Meijs, 2009). Because volunteers
donate their time and energy, the more an organization is able to better use the a volunteer s time

The Techniques of Advertising Essay
The Techniques of Advertising
Advertisings are created to make us buy things. All the companies want to sell their products,
because they want to make profit. When a company knows that a product that it manufactures is
not very good they do not share that with their customers. On the contrary, they make a very
impressive advertising for the product, because all they want is to sell it. Everyone knows that
advertising a product is not really done because the product is just wonderful and everyone should
know about it. Companies sure do care about their customers and they want these customers to

They say: better ingredients, better pizza, papa John s. First of all I don t understand what they
meant by saying better . Better than what? I assume that it is better than the pizza that I eat now.
How do they know it is better? Different people like different types of pizza; some people even
like it when it is homemade. I love the pizza that my grandmother prepares more than any other
type of pizza I have ever tasted. She has a little garden outside her house and she plants peppers
and some tomatoes there. No one can ever convince me that they have better ingredients and
better pizza than my grandmother s. In this case again if we do not pay attention to all these facts
and one day we feel the most severe hunger, the line pops up in our head Better ingredients, better

Another technique that advertisers use is the presence of role models. You see a person like Lebron

Excerpts From Being And Time By Martin Dasein Analysis
An Outline Summary: Excerpts from Being and Time (1927) (Dasein s Possibility of Being a
Whole, and Being towards Death) Martin Heidegger
Martin Heidegger started his argument by saying that once the Dasein reaches its death, it then
loses its state of being there and is now transitioning to a no longer dasein state and will take it as
an experience. However, death of the Other, as he said, is rather impressive and the termination of
Dasein, in turn, will be Objectively accessible therefore making bounds of the Dasein s totality.
Even with the Other s death, in its no longer Dasein state and Being no longer in the world, it is
still considered as a Being just in the Being just present at hand and no more of a bodily thing
that we will encounter. The coming of an end of an entity qua Dasein is the coming forth of
beginning of the same entity qua something present at hand. The changing over of Dasein to that
of the Being just present at hand and no more doesn t necessarily imply that we are not presented
with such mere corporeal Thing. Even if reaching the peak of death, a dead corpse can be of use
to someone who is seeking for the meaning or idea of life. This such being is not to be confused
as a lifeless material for it may have lost its life but it still always something more than that. He

The American Dream
John s ship finally arrived in New York and he was exhausted. He and his family had to come to
America because of the potato famine that was happening back home in Ireland. The first thing
he had to do was find a place to live at with his family; he realized that the decent houses and
apartments were out of his budget. He only had money for the crowded and unhygienic
apartments, if they could be called that. After John picked a room out, he went to go look for
jobs. While he was out looking for work, he noticed people eyeing him strangely and signs
saying No Irish Need Apply . The only type of jobs he could get were the low paying ones. But
he was desperate, so he took them. The workplace looked filthy and dangerous. John wondered if
he would ever be able to move up in the economic ladder, he believed in the American Dream .
Unfortunately, he never did because if he asked for a raise, he would be fired immediately because
other immigrants would have taken the job with lower pay. This was the life of an Irish immigrant
immigrating to America during the famine era. The Great Famineforced a countless number of Irish
people to immigrate to the United States, where they suffered from poverty and discrimination.
Despite all this, the Irish were able to assimilate and reshape American culture through politics and
religion. To begin with, the Irish people immigrated to America because much of the population
was suffering in Ireland. The Irish had been suffering for centuries,

How Fast Charging Is Becoming The Leading Technology
Fast charging is becoming the leading technology used to reenergize electric vehicles in 30 60
minutes. With the ownership of EVs doubling each year, the need to implement efficient, fast
charging infrastructure is progressively increasing. There are two technical approaches to establish
fast charging 1. via a high power, 3 phase AC connection from an AC charging post at the charging
stationto an on board high power charger in the EV or 2. via a high power DC connection from a
high power DC charger at the charging station directly to the terminals of the battery in the EV. In
this section, we will review AC level 2, DC/AC level 3 charging stations to improve our knowledge
and the design of our project.

It supplies 22 Kw at rated working voltage 400Vac and rated current of 32 amps to the vehicle
charging system. At those rates, it is capable of fully charging a 24kWh battery in 1 2 hours, thus
making it considerably faster than 230 Vac as well as Level 1 charging which uses 120V AC,
supplying 1.9kWh at max. current of 16 amps, charging the same battery in 12 18 hours. The
higher voltage transfer of AC level 2 charging shortens charging time to roughly 60%. The
components used in an AC level 2 charging include:
1. The Electric VehicleSupply Equipment (EVSE), a general term used for any off board equipment
used for the purpose of delivering energy from the premises wiring to the electric vehicle. The
interface between the EVSE and the Utility s premises wiring may be a direct hard wire or plug and
receptacle interface. EVSE includes: Vehicle Charge Cord, Charge stands (public or residential),
attachment plugs, power outlets, vehicle connector, miscellaneous infrastructure. The main
functions of Electric vehicle supply equipment include: Providing enclosure and method of
attachment to AC mains (plug or direct connect), generation of control pilot signal, protection from
ground faults, switching power to vehicle based on vehicle command, displaying the presence of
AC input.

Why Do People Spend More Time Buying A New Car Or Planning...
Introduction Why do people spend more time buying a new car or planning a vacation than
investing their life savings? Most people know they should play a more active role in their
investments but they often do not know where to start. Investing simply means putting your
money to work so it can make more money. The responsibility for retirement planning is shifting
to the individual. According to Statistics Canada, the amount of paid workers covered by a
registered pension plan dropped from 44.2 % in 1985 to 38.5% in 2005. Saving for retirement
will likely be the biggest financial goal for most Canadians and investing is one of the few ways
that can help achieve their goals. Investing is not a get rich quick scheme nor is it gambling.
Gambling is putting your money at risk by betting on a random outcome with the hope that you
might win more money. Wise investors don t leave it to chance. They have a plan and commit
money only when they have a reasonable expectation of profit. Everyone has a different idea of
what money means to them personal freedom. A sense of security or the ability to afford the things
they want in life. Having an investment plan can help you get where you want to be. An

Persuasive Essay On A Car
A car is a purchase any parent will have to face at some point down the road but, finding the
most affordable and durable option can be tricky. Most will put the research aside and let the
internet, or car salesperson, tell them which car is best but that does not mean it is best suited
for them. After careful research, comparisons, and consideration towards three different cars, a
Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Rogue, and Honda CR V, teens will be able to make the most responsible
purchase and parents will be left at ease with their child s decision. A teen will want to work
with his or her parents to find a car with the best fuel economy, lowest scheduled payments, and
best safety ratings. Fuel economy may not seem like it would be a person s deciding factor
when choosing a car, however, everybody will want to be aware of it. Fuel economy is very
important to someone who does not want to make several stops at the gas station during the day,
or worse, pay for said gas more than they should. The gas a car needs to run fluctuates in price
but typically stay pretty high and those costs will add up. Each car model consumes a different
amount of gas to go the same distance, this is shown through a city/highway miles per gallon
comparison to check how much gas will be used. For a Jeep Cherokee, the comparison is twenty
one/thirty or four gallons for every one hundred miles; a Nissan Rogue is twenty six/thirty three or
three point three gallons for every one hundred miles; and a Honda

The Architectural Feat Of The Palace Of Knossos
The Architectural Feat of the Palace of Knossos
The Minoan civilization that flourished on the island of Crete is best known for their recognizable
architecture and art which came about during the Bronze age. The center for administration and
economic growth for the island of Crete was confined within the Minoan Palace of Knossos.
Unfortunately, the extravagant beauty of the palace was only recently discovered when British
Archaeologist, Arthur Evans, starting excavated the site in 1900. Evans was the first to call the
ancient inhabitants of Crete Minoans. The complexity and the grandeur of the palace helps to
identify that Knossos was at one point in history the capital of Crete (Mark, 2010). According to
Greek mythology, architect Daedalus designed the palace of Knossos with great complexity. The
objective of Daedalus plan was to make the palace so complicated finding one s way out would
be an impossible task (Sakoulas). Other versions of the story state that Daedalus designed the
labyrinth, a maze like structure, with a double bladed ax which contained the Minotaur, a half man
half bull figure (Mark, 2010). Whatever the basis of the story may be, King Minos wanted to
ensure the secret to escaping be kept confidential. In order to do so, King Minos demanded
Daedalus and his son, Icarus, be held as prisoners in the palace. Being the clever man Daedalus
was, he anticipated the kings move. Daedalus installed two sets of wings for him and his son to
escape from the island.

Rene Cartes s Beliefs By Rene Descartes
Background
Rene Descartes opens his initial meditation with a personal anecdote that reflects on his past
willingness to accept many false statements as being true. Especially in his youth Descartes had
admitted many falsehoods to be true and from there he claims that such falsehoods built upon one
another until he reached the point of having to doubt everything. Upon writing these meditations,
Descartes has realized that many things which he once believed to be true might in fact be false or
at least doubtable. He believes that like many other things, the foundation of the sciences is also
questionable at best. Without a strong conviction in anything, Descartes believes that he must
attempt to determine which of his beliefs are true. As a result he begins questioning everything
starting with himself so that he can contribute to the foundation of a new science based on truth and
certainty only. The first step in achieving this goal for Descartes means that he must accept not
knowing whether anything is true, and as he writes the first meditation he reflects on this with
universal skepticism.
Descartes acknowledges his own human error by stating that his senses deceive him sometimes,
and thus the senses are an unreliable way of knowing things about the world. Yet he concludes that
things which are determined by an individual can be true if they are rational and without
dependence on the senses. Thus, things that are simplistically understood by rationality and do not
depend

Effect Of Amylase On Bread
THE EFFECT OF AMYLASE ON BREAD
What is bread? Bread is a food made of flour, water, and yeast mixed together and baked. In bread
making, our main focus will be on the enzyme amylase. In wheat, there is naturally appearing
amylase. Amylase in the shape of malted barley can be mixed with flour in minor amounts to
achieve a proper balance of enzymes. The key purpose of amylase in wheat flour is to break down
complex starches into simple sugars. Without this key process happening in the dough,
fermentation would not occur because yeast needs simple sugars in order to make carbon dioxide.
A proper balance of natural amylase in wheat flour is needed in order to make bread that is
accurately fermented with a good colored crust and well developed flavor. ... Show more content on

Numerous enzymes are needed in dough to break down starch into simple sugars that yeast can
digest. The process is a very complex one, and includes the enzymes alpha amylase and beta
amylase. Starch occurs in two different forms, a branched form called amylopectin and an
unbranched chain called amylose.
The dough must contain some alpha amylase to be able to digest the portion of starch that is
amylopectin. If the alpha amylase is too much in the dough the starch will completely liquify. Alpha
amylase attacks starch virtually wherever along its chains, producing smaller chains of different
lengths. These chains can hold smaller units called dextrin s that contain numerous units of glucose.
Beta amylase can then digest these dextrin s into maltose.
Flour always has a suitable supply of beta amylase that can digest amylose totally into sugars.
Beta amylase attacks amylose the chains and breaks them into molecules of maltose. Maltose is a
disaccharide (A disaccharide is the sugar formed when two simple sugars are joined by glyosidic
linkage) containing two glucose

The Importance Of The Land Of Opportunity In America
Land of Opportunity for Everyone. The United States is a very diverse country, which makes it
the most unique out of every other place in the world. What helps this wonderful country of
opportunity become what it is to this day is because of the immigrants who traveled here.
Coming from a family of immigrants I know first hand what my grandparents and parents had to
go through to earn the life they gave me today. Immigrants are an important part in our society.
They do the work that most people don t want to do. As in, work in factories, construction sites,
and on farms. Immigrants help run a high demand country, so why get rid of them? They have a
purpose here. Everyone around the world knows that America is the Land of Opportunity .
People work so hard just to come here and start a new life. They all want to experience the
American Dream . To us, this is a normal lifestyle. If you look at immigrants situations closely,
you see their country s trouble and how over there they have it much worse. Wouldn t you want to
give them an opportunity where you and they know is better? So many countries in Europe are
having a hard time and people want to escape that and move to the States to start fresh. My
grandparents moved to Chicago from Poland when my mom was 19. They worked tremendously
hard to make enough money to make sure they were set for the future. They are lucky that they got
to come here and turn their life around and make sure that my brother and I didn t have to

Control Essential
1. Describe the kind and strategies of control applied by your manager to control the employees
job. Be specific by showing examples. In case you are not working, please, refer to your last job.
Controls can be classified according to the time at which the control is applied to the activity
before, during or after. My last job was in OCASA, my manager was Lisebel Sardinas she is a good
manager, she gave me the responsibility on my jobs and tasks day by day, the time elements in
controls that I considered she used inside the company is the Feedback controls; the major
reason is because she evaluate an activity after it is performed, as example every Friday after 12

2. Evaluate the control system applied by your manager by following the 9 characteristics of
effective controls. According to the result of this analysis, please, suggest how to improve it.
a. The control must be accepted, as I said in my example the control was done every Friday,
sometimes was frustrated for me, and is not a excuse but sometimes the check doesn t come
because the customers don t want to pay, but not because I don t do the job, for me the control
must follow in the same form to correct the errors on time but should be flexible to the employees
which at the end of the week conclude at least the seventy percent of your tasks.
b. The control measures must be appropriate and meaningful; in OCASA the control measures to
the accounting department bring the opportunity to gain incentives such as a weekend in Orlando,
Sabine Island and others, each six months Lisebel Sardinas General Manager of accounting gave
the new tasks and goals for each of those, at the end of those six months we already know if we
can participate in this.
c. An effective control measure provide diagnostic information, if controls are to improve
performance, they must help people correct deviations for performance. In my example I think if
OCASA doesn t have a feedback control showing employees what is the error every

Is Firefighter Equipment Safe Enough Essay
Is Firefighter Equipment Safe Enough? Firefighter equipment is constructed of some of the most
high tech material that has been created in order to keep the firefighter as safe as possible.
Constantly new items are made that are proven to be better than the last. Their equipment protects
them from a lot. They are equipped with oxygen to breathe when in a smoky building; they have
extremely large knee pads to crawl on the ground with because smokerises so that is where the
visibility is the best; they have coats and pants to protect them from the heat and also to help
prevent them from getting cut on any sharp materials they may encounter; they have steel toed
boots so if anything drops they won t get hurt; and they have helmets to protect their heads.
However, even though it seems like everything is perfect some equipment can use some tweaking.
My brother, Alex Paris, a firefighter in Prince William County said, I think the equipment we have
today is very safe maybe almost too safe because it is causing us to go further in the fireand not
being able to feel the heat. In the past firefighters used their ears as sensors to determine when it
was too hot and time to back out but now we have nomexhoods that prevent us from doing this.
When I asked him if there were any concerns he had with it he said, I would like to have a
facemask with increased visibility in very smoky conditions. I would also like knee pads that are
thicker and easier to move around in because in most

Summary OfThe Assault By Harry Mulisch
In The Assault , the author, Harry Mulisch, depicts Anton Steenwijk as the protagonist, who
witnesses the violence at the night of the assault. In the subsequent years, Anton distances himself
from the truth of the assault due to his traumatic experience, his incomplete knowledge towards the
event, and his sorrowful memories. The traumatic experience makes Anton reluctant to go back to
Haarlem, where the violent assault takes place. The assaultgives Anton a strike, and many times in
the story, he pledges never to go back to Haarlem. For example: He shouldn t have come; he should
never have returned to Haarlem. He should have buried all that, the way one buries the dead
(Mulisch 61). It can be inferred that deep in Anton s mind, what happens at that night is the most
horrible moment to him, and such unforgettable memories remind him of never coming back. The
parallel structure here shows a complex mindset that Anton has when he hesitates to return to
Haarlem. The author uses consecutive should and shouldn t stresses this tone. The all that here
probably means all the tragic events happen in Haarlem, including both the assaultand deprivation
of Anton s parents. Also, the author uses an analogy, that Anton should forget all the things in
Haarlem and never think about them again, because it is a disgraceful memory of Anton, just
like someone should bury the dead to wipe away the mournful memories. Besides, Anton swears
never to go back to Haarlem even if a job offers him a hundred thousand gulden a year. (61) This
shows Anton is resolved not to go back to Haarlem. His reluctance to return is quite logical:
Haarlem is a place teeming with unjoyful memories, and a place where his house is burnt, and his
parents are lost. Who likes to return to a place where such sorrowful recollection flows? It is the
presence of his traumatic experience that haunts Anton and holds him from going back and seeing
the place again. In the aftermath of the violent assault, Anton develops a psychological distance that
makes him too sorrowful to accept the truth. The sorrow of his can be seen when Anton meets his
former neighbor, Karin. As Once more the old bitterness welled up, the inexhaustible bitterness.
Was he meant to

John Tammy states Robots will ultimately be the biggest job creators simply because
aggressive automation will free us up to do new work by virtue of it erasing toil that was once
essential ( Why Robots Will Be The Biggest Job Creators In World History par.3). According to
John Tammy robots will be the biggest reason why many people will have jobs. Robots will
create a lot of jobs for employees that will free them from doing hard labor. When labor is hard
and it can cause employees to be exhausted which results from them to slow down production
which is bad for the company. Without robots, employees are stuck with doing hard and even
time consuming labor which can slow down production. Industrial robots can help a lot of
companies make labor less harsh. In the future, Robotic Technology will have an impact on
industries by creating new jobs. Bill Lydon states Automation has allowed us to compete on a
global basis and it has created jobs in Southwest Michigan. If it had not been for automation we
would not have beaten our Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican competitors ( IFR Press Release 1).
This quote shows that robots not only help companies create more employment, they can also help
companies beat competitors. Which are very beneficial to them because it can help companies build
a good reputation because of the quality and popularity of their products. Robotic Technology can

Analysis Of A River Runs Through It By Norman Maclean
The natural world has a unique power unequivocal to anything human to make one deeply

Norman Maclean captures the humansoul and what it means to grow up, his story explaining how a

For Maclean, the river was always highly personal he even refers to it as my family s river multiple
times demonstrating the profound effect it had on his upbringing. The deepest familial moments
such as Norman offering Paul help, discussing life plans, or Norman finding common ground with
his father, all occur while fishing on the Blackfoot or in transit to it.
Maclean also uses the rivers changing topography to reveal his emotions once he returns to
Montana from his time at Dartmouth, a much more metropolitan refined place. He writes, the
family river changed find that quote , and appears melancholy, but later comes to accept that things
have changed and time moves forward. Once again viewing the river as something of personal
ownership reveals Norman s own emotions about himself. He sees that the river and town has
grown, with development along the river altering its serenity but then he begins to accept the
change (find quote) as part of the cycle of growth and acceptance. Because he uses the river to
represent himself, his long thoughts about the industry developing symbolize norman s internal
conflict returning to a very different Missoula than the one he left. The moment he learns to accept
that things change, like the town becoming larger and more urban, and cannot be the same forever
marks the peak of character growth. Throughout the entire novella, these emotional changes are
highlighted through metaphors involving the river

Sentiment Analysis In A Movie Review
Abstract While sentiment analysis provides fantastic insights and has a wide range of real world
applications, the overall sentiment of a piece of text won t always pinpoint the root cause of an
author s opinion. Certain types of documents, such as movie reviews, may contain fine grained
sentiment about different aspects about the service that are mentioned in text. A review about a
movie may contain opinionated sentences about its story, cast and direction. This information can
help users understand the positive and negative parts of a movie. Aspect based sentiment analysis
makes it easier to identify and determine the sentiment towards specific aspects in text. To identify
different aspects of a movie, the application needs to determine the context of a particular sentence
or group of sentences in the movie review. These contextual groupings can then be mapped to
various aspects of a movie, hence enabling us to score aspects based on their sentiment.

  • 3. Review on My Name Is Khan To write a review about a film which contains not only the magical combo of Shahrukh Khan Kajol Karan Johar but also something different from melodramatic love story or usual remake of hardcore commercial film is pleasurable. My Name Is Khan has a excellent point to a class of audience who likes to watch Shahrukh Khan in a different characteristic. But the filmdoes not show the excellence enough to get a perfect worship from all audiences and critics. In the movie Rizwan embarks on a touching journey and gets the true recognition of his love, love for Mandira_we reveal a simple but touchy characteristic of an ordinary man s love,we go through an extra ordinary journey. The ending is quite good but it may be more gothic and more authentic. The journey of Khan may be showed more smartly in accordance with happenings as sometime it has feel us melodramatic. Cinematography is worthy off a hand of applause, specially using the background and wide angle shot. Editing is fine. Thanks Ravi K. Chandran (director of photography) and Deepa Bhatia (editing) Shankar Ehsan Loy has done a great job both in soundtrack and background score. Thanks to the lyricist(Niranjan Iyengar and Javed Akhtar) The songs such as Noor e Khuda blend western bar blues and techno sounds with Indian classical styles such as Sufi and Hindustani. The soundtrack is thus representative of the indie fusion genre . Unlike Karan Johar s other films, this film has no lip sync songs. All the songs are in background. Tere Naina is a good one. In short The content of My Name Is Khan is diametrically opposite to whatever Karan Johar done in the past. My Name Is Khan is not all about terrorism, or 9/11. It s about a relationship between two people, between an individual and the State, and between an individual and the country. In short, there the three important components: love story, Islam and a mild form of autism. You can watch it. Sometime it is impressive, dramatic, a little bit slow, ... • 4. Notes On Sea Kayaking Force Wind Kayaking When everyone hears the word kayaking they all think about one type of boat and one type of kayaking and they are sea kayaking and a sit on top. Let s talk about sea kayaking before boats and different types of equipment shall we? Sea kayaking to most kayakers is an unknown place. People who kayak don t generally think of going out on the sea. Either because they think that the tides will drag them out or that it is to much work to move your boat, to these people I say that this is absolutely not true and it is no harder to move on the sea than to move on a flowing river. admittedly on a river you don t have big waves but still there is next to no difference in how hard it is to move, and as for the tides unless you irresponsible and decide to go out in gala force wind, then the only thing you have to think about is the current not the tide. Once you understand all of these variables you can have tons of fun out there after all the sea is the biggest white water centre there is. Away from sea kayaking let s look at some of the other aspects of kayaking. There are many different types of kayaking there is white water kayaking that is all to do with what is basically throwing yourself down the most wildest rivers you can and praying you come out the other end with yourself and all your stuff intact. There is also slalom which is going through gates whilst going down a rapid, and then there is freestyle. Now personally I like freestyle it is not really the kind of ... • 5. Studying Moral Philosophy Every person at least once in his life felt that he has done something wrong or even immoral, and was encouraged to change his behavior. Even as a child many of us were constantly told: Think about your behavior! This reminder helps realize that one of the most powerful determinants of human behavior stems from our need to justify our actions. This feeling of discomfort caused by performing a certain action is called cognitive dissonance. However, sometimes justification of our actions, caused by cognitive dissonance, leads to the thought: Who decided what is right or wrong? or in other words: What and where is the perfect example of living a moral life? Studying moral philosophyshows us that people hold different worldviews that contain different models of moral justification. Based on the analysis of two philosophies, naturalism and theism, this paper argues that theism provides a better framework for making sense of moralityand living a moral live, because it has more explanatory power regarding the notion of free will that people have. Naturalism mainly is though as a type of scientism, which implies that only things recognized by scientists as real are real. Although, there are many naturalists who hold this particular view, it is not the necessary feature of naturalism. Basically, naturalism can be divided into two components: metaphysical and methodological. The first one is often referred as philosophical naturalism and it is the one covered in this ... They have evolved and grown from small firms to the giants of e commerce today. In this essay, a comparison would be made between the two firms. Questioning the types of business models Amazon and Ebay s have employed and how they have evolved over time, the driving factors of change, and finally the future outlook of each firm help distinguish the trails both firms made to become the two leaders in the market of ecommerce. They are imperative in making a comparison between the two because despite being direct competitors in the same market, Amazon and Ebay s business models are distinctly different. Both companies have altered business strategies over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Amazon intended to benefit from cross selling on the basis that it already has a loyal installed base in place. (Krishnamurthy, 2004) Amazon also benefited from economies of scope as its basic infrastructure is already in place and highly scalable. Three building blocks complement this: Amazon s feedback system, recommendation system and its buy/sell system. Its recommendation system accounts for 35% of Amazon s sales as customers are more inclined to buy a product based on the strength of the reviews of other customers. It also brought repeated purchasers that account for 66% of sales. (Salehnejad, 2012) Also, Amazon has emphasized on building several distribution centers around the world to hasten deliveries (Hof and Himelstein, 1999). Coupled with its software it provides a laser like focus on the buying experience (IT Business Edge, 2012). Such a system and service is what draws customers towards Amazon and subsequently retains them. In 1999, Amazon became a merchant platform by introducing zShop, a new service that allows anyone to sell merchandise through its website . (Moore, 1999) It not only creates extra revenue from the $9.99 monthly subscription fee from sellers but also 60 cents per transaction for payments made with 1 Click, as well as 4.75 percent of the final sale . By 1994 a significant year in the company s history Greggs consisted of more than 500 stores operating in seven regional divisions. The stature of the company at this point was about to increase substantially, providing a fitting tribute to the company s tenth year as a publicly traded concern. In mid 1994, Greggs acquired the retail baking interests belonging to Allied Bakeries Limited. The transaction nearly doubled the size of the company, adding 424 shops and a new brand to the company s portfolio, Bakers Oven. The acquisition of Allied Bakeries added a new dimension to Greggs business strategy, one that contrasted and complemented the company s operations. Unlike the shops operating under the Greggs banner, the Bakers Oven shops featured in store bakeries. Rather than assimilate the acquired units into the company s network of large central bakeries that served a cluster of retail shops, Darrington and his management team decided to develop Bakers Oven as a separate brand, a decision that opened new markets for the company s expansion. Through Bakers Oven shops and their in store bakeries, the company was able to establish a presence in markets with lower population densities than the Greggs units demanded. For the Greggs model of a central bakery serving satellite shops to make financial sense, numerous retail outlets needed to be in close ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Cultural Imperialism And The United States During my time in Guatemala, I believe that the social issues I came in the most contact with were hegemony and cultural imperialism, or in other words, the influence the United States has over Guatemala. No matter where I was, whether it be the streets of the small town of San Miguel or the larger, more developed city of GuatemalaCity, I could not help but notice how much of an impact the United Stateshas. Throughout the course of a month we learned a lot about the root causes of poverty America as a hegemon through both readings and discussion. The footprint the U.S. has left in Guatemala was apparent not only while reading and learning about the history of Latin America, but while visiting the country itself. In addition, we had the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As you walk or drive through Guatemala, you are sure to see countless billboards, much like in the U.S. Being from the U.S., this seems completely normal. The signs even looked very similar. When I took a closer look at the signs, I noticed why they looked so similar. There were American models on the signs. In particular, I noticed a blonde haired woman on the front of a billboard advertising shampoo. I also noticed American women on billboards advertising jeans and beer. When looking into bars I saw calendars with American women as well. It was impossible not to notice the influence that the U.S. had not only on methods of advertising, but also on the images used. In addition to noticing the U.S. hegemon while on the streets of Guatemala, I also noticed it while living with the people. While staying with host families, we were given the opportunity to take in an entirely different culture or so we thought. Even though living amongst Guatemalans was a very new experience, it was also very evident that the U.S. had impacted the traditional Guatemalan way of life. The first thing that I noticed while living with my host family was the way they dressed. My host parents wore what can be considered as traditional clothing. They had not let any outside influence impact their decision in clothing. However, my host siblings we not mirroring their parents. • 10. Analysis Of And Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Intertextuality is a literary technique that weaves together and creates a relationship between two texts, enriching the reader of the primary text with a look into history, and the ability to further interpret what they are reading. According to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED Online) intertext is defined as A text considered in the light of its relation to other texts; ( intertext def. 1), meaning that intertext is when a text is better understood by having knowledge of the text that it alludes to. In Mary Barton, Elizabeth Gaskelluses intertextualityto further demonstrate key concepts present in the text by alluding to works of other famous authors, well known biblical passages, and Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. By doing this, she effectively shows how the relationship between the working class and the middle to upper classmust be compassionate and understanding of their shared connection in order to be successful. The use of allusions in this text is both a formal and thematic technique. Appendix C of the Oxford World s Classics edition of this novel provides two of William Gaskell s lectures on Lancashire dialect, showing the ways in which he and Elizabeth intensely studied the origin of words from this region. Here, he focuses on tracing the history of words, everything from who created it first, where it has been used since then and the ways it is used in Lancashire at the time of the lecture. Some ads don t even feature a car. Throughout the past 60 years car advertisements have changed significantly. Alyssa Michaelides, a professor at Eastern Michigan University, describes this use of stereotyped sexy women in ads and how this image [is used] to sell everything from cigarettes to clothing to household items, and in this instance, cars (1). This ad, in some cases, can be seen as sexist, as the car is being portrayed as a men s product and encourages the man to compare the value of the car and the woman and the pleasure brought by both. Furthermore, it has been proven that sex sells, and this ad is certainly no exception. In How Women Should Be Portrayed in Advertisements, the authors discuss how women are too often portrayed as decorative [...] sex objects, and unfortunately, this advertisement depicts just that (Roberts and Koggan 66). The woman in this Audi ad is dressed somewhat promiscuously, and as mentioned earlier, the way she is dressed and visually portrayed, separates her body from her intellectual abilities. I think it developed in the workplace after some of the employees left with zombie like features. The previous employees did not give much positive feedback to the new employees and that they have told me that there isn t much advancement in the workplace. All the employees were friends, but once they started to slowly go for a different job, the others started to become lifeless. They didn t care about what they were doing anymore. They started to cause friction in the kitchen. Soon, the employees that started the zombie like featured were gone, but the virus was still lingering in the air. The Things They Carried’ by Tim O’Brien Essay The Things They Carried by Tim O Brien provides a insider s view of war and its distractions, both externally in dealing with combat and internally dealing with the reality of war and its effect on each solder. The story, while set in Vietnam, is as relevant today with the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan as it was in the 1960 s and 1970 s in Southeast Asia. With over one million soldiers having completed anywhere from one to three tours in combat in the last 10 years, the real conflict might just be inside the soldier. This paragraph almost drones on losing the reader in a myriad of technical mumbo jumbo and measurements before getting back on target with the story of the soldier s life in the field. The organization of the text can be hard to follow when he goes on about the equipment. On the other hand O Brien takes the role of narrator; clearly he is invested emotionally in the story. However, the drama of the moment can be diluted with too much fact and not enough emotion. Taking each character and peeling back the soldier layers to expose us to the person underneath, he also creates moments that are poignant and riveting. They are known as rime and clear ice, and a mixture of the two is not uncommon. For rime ice to form, an aircraft needs to fly through an area of tiny super cooled liquid drops. This super cooled liquid is actually suspended in the cloud cover at temperatures already below freezing. Once the aircraft surface plows through this moisture, the drops are disrupted immediately adhere to and freeze before spreading out over the entire surface. This forms a rough and cloudy white layer of ice known as rime. Even though the rime surface is rough and creates an airflow disturbance, it is lighter and easier to remove by deicing equipment than clear ice. For clear ice to form, larger sized super cooled drops would need to be encountered. These larger droplets spread out over the surface and airfoils before freezing. This allows for the build up of a clear, hard and slick layer of ice on the surface (Ahrens, 2009). There are four basic condition levels of icing. A slight trace may be unnoticeable, where a light accumulation might only be an issue during a very long flight through conditions and periodic use of anti icing equipment may be needed to rid any accumulation. Trust will play an important role in any team member s process because without trust between the project manager and their team you will not have the cohesion, dedication, commitment or loyalty from any team member. He says it s crucial to have confidence in each other and promote openness, transparency and vulnerability (Role player, 2009). According to my text book Making the Team: A Guide for Managers , it explains that in order to trust another person you must have respect for another person because without both you have nothing. A few examples of knowing that you have respect for your fellow team mates are when you speak of your team in a very positive tone, when you feel as though decisions will not be made without the consideration of all members, when you know that you feel comfortable in team presentations and when you know that every suggestion and idea that is being made by each member is important and will add that special detailed touch to any team project. Politics is a huge part of our democracy and we take pride and joy with the power our decision has in our government. • 31. Terrorism from Above vs.Terrorism from Below Terrorism from above is known as state terrorism, state terrorism is not always a straightforward process in fact it is usually a covert, secret policy that allows states to claim deniability when accused of sponsoring terrorism. There are several ways to spot terrorism from above and can be included many different aspects. Sponsors of terrorismin terrorism from above, this means the state actively promotes terrorism and has been deemed what the U.S. call a rogue state. There are also enablers of state terrorism, enablers are states that operate in a manner to which being part of the problem means not just failing to cooperate fully in countering terrorism, but also doing some things that help enable it to occur. Links between regims and terrorism can range from very clear lines of sponsorship to indefinable associations. When a government is using terrorism as an instrument of statecraft they can often control the degree of their involvement so that any incidents of terrorism cannot be traced back to the government. We can then conclude that state sponsorship of terrorism is not as straightforward as it seems. It is usually a covert policy that allows for the state to claim plausible deniability when accused of sponsoring terrorism. Because of these parameters a distinction must be made between state patronage and assistance. State patronage for terrorism refers to either participation and/or encouragement of terrorism and terrorist behavior. It basically means ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Accompanying the shift to Holocene was high temperatures that were as much as 2В°C (3.6В°F) higher than present averages in some places. It may have been because of this climate change or because of human intervention, or both that large game perished with the coming of the Holocene. Lacking the rich game hunting economy that their Pleistocene predecessors had, small bands of American Indians focused on the killing of small game, feeding of aquaculture, and an ever increasing dependency on the collection of specific plant foods. The transition from forager to farmer in eastern North America consisted of the domestication of four North American seed plants, the initial emergence of food production economies between 250 B.C. and A.D. 200, and the rapid shift to a maize centered agriculture during A.D. 800 to 1100. Eastern North America was then identified as an independent and localized center of plant domestication. Technological advances, including water flotation technology, scanning electron microscopy, accelerator mass spectrometer (AMS) radiocarbon dating, and stable carbon isotope analysis of human bone have shown that this transition to food production communities is more complex than previously thought. Native American crop plants were first cultivated in eastern north America between 2000 and 1000 B.C. When food production economies first emerged, local crop plants gained significant economic importance which can be seen in the increased representation in seed assemblages. The increased consumption of maize resulted in a shift in food production economies and maize s domination of the fields and the diets of farming societies between A.D. 800 and 1100. Domesticated squash from as early as 8000 B.C. had been found; it has been suggested that this first type of squash to be domesticated is a distant relative of today s pumpkin. Squash seeds provided the early nomadic peoples a source of protein that was easy to store and transport, and the gourd bottle provided a transportable container to hold drinking water. Another cultigen, with the squash, is the most ancient cultigen of the New World: the bottle gourd. It appeared by 6500 B.C. and was suggested to have been domesticated by 6000 B.C. Perhaps, organizations should apply the classical practices of human resource management (HRM) to the volunteer work environment (Studer, 2015). Initially, these activities start with an orientation that allows the volunteer to gain a sense of the organization and its mission, as well as to expose the volunteers to the organization s culture and method of operation (Brudney, 1999). Moreover, more extensive use of orientation, training and support practices generates fewer problems had by volunteers, which is associated with fewer problems in the retention of volunteers (Cuskelly et al., 2006). It is important, however, for volunteer coordinators to refer back to the preliminary volunteer interest form. Referring back to the form allows the coordinator to grasp a more comprehensive understanding of the volunteer s motivations as well as their expertise. With this knowledge, further trainings and development opportunities can be catered more to the various job specific tasks volunteers are assigned to complete. Job specific trainings and developmental opportunities make for the best use of volunteer energy as a natural resource (Brudney Meijs, 2009). Excerpts From Being And Time By Martin Dasein Analysis An Outline Summary: Excerpts from Being and Time (1927) (Dasein s Possibility of Being a Whole, and Being towards Death) Martin Heidegger Martin Heidegger started his argument by saying that once the Dasein reaches its death, it then loses its state of being there and is now transitioning to a no longer dasein state and will take it as an experience. However, death of the Other, as he said, is rather impressive and the termination of Dasein, in turn, will be Objectively accessible therefore making bounds of the Dasein s totality. Even with the Other s death, in its no longer Dasein state and Being no longer in the world, it is still considered as a Being just in the Being just present at hand and no more of a bodily thing that we will encounter. The coming of an end of an entity qua Dasein is the coming forth of beginning of the same entity qua something present at hand. The changing over of Dasein to that of the Being just present at hand and no more doesn t necessarily imply that we are not presented with such mere corporeal Thing. Even if reaching the peak of death, a dead corpse can be of use to someone who is seeking for the meaning or idea of life. This such being is not to be confused as a lifeless material for it may have lost its life but it still always something more than that. He then defined deceased as that which ... The first thing he had to do was find a place to live at with his family; he realized that the decent houses and apartments were out of his budget. He only had money for the crowded and unhygienic apartments, if they could be called that. After John picked a room out, he went to go look for jobs. While he was out looking for work, he noticed people eyeing him strangely and signs saying No Irish Need Apply . The only type of jobs he could get were the low paying ones. Unfortunately, the extravagant beauty of the palace was only recently discovered when British Archaeologist, Arthur Evans, starting excavated the site in 1900. Evans was the first to call the ancient inhabitants of Crete Minoans. The complexity and the grandeur of the palace helps to identify that Knossos was at one point in history the capital of Crete (Mark, 2010). • 42. Rene Cartes s Beliefs By Rene Descartes Background Rene Descartes opens his initial meditation with a personal anecdote that reflects on his past willingness to accept many false statements as being true. Especially in his youth Descartes had admitted many falsehoods to be true and from there he claims that such falsehoods built upon one another until he reached the point of having to doubt everything. Upon writing these meditations, Descartes has realized that many things which he once believed to be true might in fact be false or at least doubtable. He believes that like many other things, the foundation of the sciences is also questionable at best. Without a strong conviction in anything, Descartes believes that he must attempt to determine which of his beliefs are true. As a result he begins questioning everything starting with himself so that he can contribute to the foundation of a new science based on truth and certainty only. The first step in achieving this goal for Descartes means that he must accept not knowing whether anything is true, and as he writes the first meditation he reflects on this with universal skepticism. Descartes acknowledges his own human error by stating that his senses deceive him sometimes, and thus the senses are an unreliable way of knowing things about the world. Yet he concludes that things which are determined by an individual can be true if they are rational and without dependence on the senses. Thus, things that are simplistically understood by rationality and do not depend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In bread making, our main focus will be on the enzyme amylase. In wheat, there is naturally appearing amylase. Amylase in the shape of malted barley can be mixed with flour in minor amounts to achieve a proper balance of enzymes. The key purpose of amylase in wheat flour is to break down complex starches into simple sugars. Without this key process happening in the dough, fermentation would not occur because yeast needs simple sugars in order to make carbon dioxide. A proper balance of natural amylase in wheat flour is needed in order to make bread that is accurately fermented with a good colored crust and well developed flavor. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Numerous enzymes are needed in dough to break down starch into simple sugars that yeast can digest. The process is a very complex one, and includes the enzymes alpha amylase and beta amylase. Starch occurs in two different forms, a branched form called amylopectin and an unbranched chain called amylose. The dough must contain some alpha amylase to be able to digest the portion of starch that is amylopectin. If the alpha amylase is too much in the dough the starch will completely liquify. Alpha amylase attacks starch virtually wherever along its chains, producing smaller chains of different lengths. However, even though it seems like everything is perfect some equipment can use some tweaking. My brother, Alex Paris, a firefighter in Prince William County said, I think the equipment we have today is very safe maybe almost too safe because it is causing us to go further in the fireand not being able to feel the heat. In the past firefighters used their ears as sensors to determine when it was too hot and time to back out but now we have nomexhoods that prevent us from doing this. When I asked him if there were any concerns he had with it he said, I would like to have a facemask with increased visibility in very smoky conditions. I would also like knee pads that are thicker and easier to move around in because in most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Summary OfThe Assault By Harry Mulisch In The Assault , the author, Harry Mulisch, depicts Anton Steenwijk as the protagonist, who witnesses the violence at the night of the assault. In the subsequent years, Anton distances himself from the truth of the assault due to his traumatic experience, his incomplete knowledge towards the event, and his sorrowful memories. The traumatic experience makes Anton reluctant to go back to Haarlem, where the violent assault takes place. The assaultgives Anton a strike, and many times in the story, he pledges never to go back to Haarlem. For example: He shouldn t have come; he should never have returned to Haarlem. He should have buried all that, the way one buries the dead (Mulisch 61). It can be inferred that deep in Anton s mind, what happens at that night is the most horrible moment to him, and such unforgettable memories remind him of never coming back. The parallel structure here shows a complex mindset that Anton has when he hesitates to return to Haarlem. The author uses consecutive should and shouldn t stresses this tone. The all that here probably means all the tragic events happen in Haarlem, including both the assaultand deprivation of Anton s parents. Also, the author uses an analogy, that Anton should forget all the things in Haarlem and never think about them again, because it is a disgraceful memory of Anton, just like someone should bury the dead to wipe away the mournful memories. Besides, Anton swears never to go back to Haarlem even if a job offers him a hundred thousand gulden a year. (61) This shows Anton is resolved not to go back to Haarlem. His reluctance to return is quite logical: Haarlem is a place teeming with unjoyful memories, and a place where his house is burnt, and his parents are lost. Who likes to return to a place where such sorrowful recollection flows? It is the presence of his traumatic experience that haunts Anton and holds him from going back and seeing the place again. In the aftermath of the violent assault, Anton develops a psychological distance that makes him too sorrowful to accept the truth. The sorrow of his can be seen when Anton meets his former neighbor, Karin. As Once more the old bitterness welled up, the inexhaustible bitterness. Was he meant to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When labor is hard and it can cause employees to be exhausted which results from them to slow down production which is bad for the company. Without robots, employees are stuck with doing hard and even time consuming labor which can slow down production. Industrial robots can help a lot of companies make labor less harsh. In the future, Robotic Technology will have an impact on industries by creating new jobs. Bill Lydon states Automation has allowed us to compete on a global basis and it has created jobs in Southwest Michigan. If it had not been for automation we would not have beaten our Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican competitors ( IFR Press Release 1). • 52. Sentiment Analysis In A Movie Review Abstract While sentiment analysis provides fantastic insights and has a wide range of real world applications, the overall sentiment of a piece of text won t always pinpoint the root cause of an author s opinion. Certain types of documents, such as movie reviews, may contain fine grained sentiment about different aspects about the service that are mentioned in text. A review about a movie may contain opinionated sentences about its story, cast and direction. This information can help users understand the positive and negative parts of a movie. Aspect based sentiment analysis makes it easier to identify and determine the sentiment towards specific aspects in text.
