Computer Topology Of A Network
INTRODUCTION: The physical or network topology of a network seriously affects the network
price, dependability, throughput, and approach pattern, etc, thus we want to contemplate these
multiple criteria having totally different units, at the same time. However, normal ways of
planning topology contemplate solely one criterion, e.g., minimizing the specified range of
physical links. during this paper, we tend to propose a topology style methodology exploitation
average rank , that is calculated by averaging the ranks of all criteria. This methodology needs very
little calculation and therefore the principle of topology analysis is basically straightforward.
Through numerical analysis, we tend to show that this methodology will realize... Show more

IV About Network Architecture In order to know and apply the ideas during this chapter, you must
be acquainted with basic networking ideas. This includes the functions and options of the TCP/IP
protocol suite, technologies like the variants of LAN, synchronous optical network (SONET), and
wave division multiplexing (WDM), and therefore the basics of network routing, security,
performance, and management. Network analysis, design, and style have historically been thought
of art, combining somebody s explicit rules on evaluating and selecting network technologies;
information regarding however technologies, services, and protocols is meaningfully combined;
expertise in what works and what doesn t; along with (often arbitrary) alternatives of network
designs. However, as with different sorts of art, success of a specific network style usually
depends totally on who is doing the work, with results that are rarely duplicable. this could have
been acceptable within the period of time of networking, once networks were a lot of a hobby than
a crucial resource and didn t directly support revenue generation. Today, however, networks are
embedded among our work, home, and outside environments. they re thought of

Pros And Cons Of Kevin Durant Leaving Oklahoma City
NBA article NBA fans still shocked about Kevin Durant leaving Oklahoma City and how much
hate he is getting from all his fans and the community of NBA basketball. LeBrone James still
thinks Cleveland cavaliers should trade more players even when they recently had Kyle Korver.
LeBrone also thinks he can keep functioning Cleveland without Kevin Love on the team. We the
community do not like the way NBA players move teams and leaving their old team into the
dust. Many players like Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose and Kyle Korver have left
their team to join a new one. Kevin Durant lost the semi finals in 2016 against golden state
warriors and in 2017 he joined golden state warriors. He said if you can t beat them, join them.
That left a lot of hate from his teammates and his fans. At this moment we burned all our jerseys
on Kevin because of how much we hate him for what he did. Same with other players, it s really
hard to see our favourite players leave their team.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
NBA tickets are at least $50 $80, but not with the New York Knicks. Their tickets are at least
over $120 per ticket. Its probably because they had paid too much for Derrick Rose and Justine
Holiday. It becomes really hard for Knicks fans to see their games. The Knicks should drop their
price for their tickets like everyone else to at least $60. Even the biggest team in the league
Cleveland cavaliers are selling tickets for $48. The lowest ranking team in the NBA is the Charlotte
Hornets and their tickets cost

The Pre Licensing Course Exam
I passed the pre licensing course exam within the acceptable margin which means I answered at
least 80% of the questions correctly. Now, on to the state exam. It is a 115 question multiple
choice test with a four hour time frame. 5 of the questions are dummies and will not be scored.
You must answer correctly 82 of the 110 questions or score at least 75%. The instructor stressed to
all of us in the class to apply immediately to The North Carolina Real EstateCommission to take the
state real estate exam after we finished the pre licensing course. I forgot the exact statistics. But,
I recall that you stand an excellent chance of passing the exam on the first try within 2 weeks
after taking the pre licensing exam because the material you learned and was tested on is fresh
in your mind. For each day that passes after the two week period, your chances of passing goes
down considerably. You are allowed to take the exam a second time if you fail on the first attempt.
If you fail on the second try, you have to start from square one with the pre licensing course. I had
filled out The North Carolina Real Estate Commission exam application weeks before the end of the
pre licensing course ended which our instructor encouraged us to do. It is extremely important to
fill out the application entirely, accurately and to furnish all the identification documents requested
by the Commission. Most important is to assure that your legal name on the application matches

Ralph Waldo Emerson Self Reliance Quote
Self reliance allows for an individual to see their own self value. Ralph Waldo Emerson has a
quote that represents this aspect of self reliance, Greatness is a property for which no man can
receive credit too soon; it must be possessed long before it is acknowledged. Self reliance has
many different qualities including doing good and not expecting any praise because that person
knows that they have done good and that should be enough for them. Ralph Waldo Emersons quote
shows how teens and Americans need to be self reliant and need to do great things without the
final outcome for doing those great actions only being the acknowledgment of others. By being
self reliant an individual is able to be happy knowing that they have greatness in them. It must be
possessed long before it is acknowledged. (Emerson), meaning that in order for a man to be great
they need to be able to do great things without the want of praise. Emerson also states, Greatness
is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon. I take this to mean that greatness is not
something that can be attained instantly and that someone needs to be self reliant before they can
be considered great. Self reliance is a quality that is hard to achieve and in Emerson s quote he states

My dad has taught me different lessons that show how to be a great person. Being a great person
is not something that can happen easily. One of the first steps is accepting that a person should
not do great things for the rewards that they will later receive but instead do great things just
because. By doing great things with the intention of receiving a reward that person is being
selfish. Being unselfish is another lesson that my dad would often teach me, because a great
person should never be selfish. Ralph Emerson s quote about greatness and self reliance connects

My Philosophy Of Small Groups Essay
Introduction Over the years, many models have been developed and implemented to endeavor to
make disciples. Some of the models have been effective and others have not. Among some of the
most biblical and efficient models are the ones that involve small groups. Within the small groups
models, they can be broken down into further detail, such as pastoral involvement, the church s
goal, missions mindedness, etc. In this paper, I will explain my philosophy of small groups in a
church and the importance of the relational group in authentic disciple making. I will also explain
how missional groups can help the body of Christ move out into the community. Finally, I will
summarize my status in regards to living in community with other believers and being missional
with that community. My Philosophy of Small Groups My personal philosophy of small groups is
scriptural based. Acts 2:46 says, And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. As the
original church began, it is obvious from Acts chapter two and particularly from verse 46 that the
church met in unity in large groups. They actually used a two fold approach of meeting in large
group meetings and then in the homes for more intimate small group gatherings. Acts 2:46 clearly
shows the church gathering in homes, eating together, and continuing the work of the ministry.
Effective ministry is connecting with both God

During the 19th Century, the United States was downright obsessed with expanding westward.
They believed it was their God given right to span the entire continent. With more and more
territories being added to the ever growing roster, they needed a way to get from point A to point
B quickly. The solution: The Erie Canal and the Transcontinental Railroad. The result: A huge
growth in the U.S. s economy. In Document 1A, it explains that the Erie Canal was a canal built in
1825, stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Erie. It caused a huge increase in the industry
along the Hudson River and made the economy of New York more important than ever. As stated in

Facet Joint Essay
The facet joint, also known as the zygapophyseal joint, exists between the inferior articulating
process of one vertebra and the superior articulating process of the successive, caudal vertebra. This
joint exists between vertebrae in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar back. Facet joints allow flexion,
extension, and twisting of the back while also restricting this movement so as to prevent injury and
insure stability (_________). A capsule filled surrounds the joint, providing nutrients, protection,
and lubrication.
Chronic lumbar facet joint pain affects one or more joint in the lumbar spinal and is relayed to the
brain via the medial branch nerve. The medial branch originates from the dorsal ramus, an off shoot
of the spinal root nerve. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jeffrey D Petersohn and Dr. Lee have been gathered that and are congruent with the aforementioned

movement and the elicited motor twitch. Additionally, a visible paraspinal muscle twitch at L5 is
cannot be resolved through visual inspection, regardless of stimulation intensity. Clinical
observations in the OR of both clinicians did, however, suggest that activation of the intrinsic back
muscle at L5, can be recorded using EMG. Such use of EMG electrodes also allows for greater
sensitivity to motor thresholds when compared to visual inspection. The motor thresholds that are
identified visually, are far greater than those determined with EMG (Westin et al., Clin
Neurophysiol 2014; 125: 142 147). As such, low levels of muscle activation (i.e. threshold) cannot
be reliably discerned by visual inspection. Additionally, when ultrasonography was used as an
additional visualization tool during clinical studies, sole activation of the multifidus muscle was

Describe Las Vegas
Las Vegas You usually would not expect a seventeen year old to say that they love vacationing to
Las Vegas, but in my case I absolutely love it. There are so many fun activities to do I just can
not get enough. The first thing I usually do when I get to Vegas is start people watching. You
would be amazed with how different people are in this world.almost everywhere you look you see
people dressed up in the most random outfits to mostly get attention from other people. The scariest
part about people watching is the ones in the costumes. Considering, I absolutely hate when people
dress up in costumes. The random people do the weirdest and craziest stuff and think nothing of it. I
could honestly sit somewhere and watch the madness all night.

Art As A Physical Form Of Creative Expression
Art is a physical form of creative expression in one s unique innovative usage of resources. This
procedure can be looked upon in various ways. While art may come in numerous arrangements by

the attention of the audience, to make them think the tenacity behind its creation. Besides, in today

Social Media And Instant Messenger
Sitting on the train, I was aimlessly staring out of the window with my headphones in blasting
my music at full volume. I was heading into the City for the first time and as if that wasn t scary
enough on its own; I was going to meet my brother. The same brother I didn t know existed until
nine months ago. It had started when I received a letter in the post, which in itself was a
surprise. It had taken a couple of weeks to get over the shock and come to terms with the fact I
had a brother. Over the following months we had spoken to each other through various forms of
social media and instant messenger, getting to know each other more. So far I had learnt that his
name was Michael Fuentes but that he preferred to go by Mike and that he was two years
younger than me at twenty eight. He fitted the gangster stereotype perfectly, but the more I got
to know him the more I disagreed with the label. He had long hair, like me, but he had shaved
the sides so it was technically a Mohawk. I was also really surprised by his voice as it was a lot
softer than I had imagined based on his appearance and the small amount of information I had
prior to speaking to him. I also knew that he had both arms covered in tattoos as was his neck
from the pictures I had seen online although he had told me that he had more over his torso and
legs. I could feel my heart rate speeding up as the train was slowing down, knowing I was just
minutes away from facing my only living blood relative. The train

Impact Of Reconstruction During The Reconstruction Period
Unit 1 Paper The United States changed dramatically during the reconstruction period. After the
reconstruction period, the United Stated continued to adjust well as we see it change economically
and politically. Though the adjustment continued to go well, the change that occurs after
reconstruction is emphasized with industrialization and the impact that industrialization has in
certain regions of the U.S and on the people. Along with the new economy came with complications
that affected the improvement of conditions in work and in life. During the Gilded Age, there is a
difference between the North and South economies. When industrialization started to consume the
United States, the North quickly adapted to the change as cities begin to develop allowing citizens
to move to industrial cities in search of new opportunities such as employment. On page 592 it
states the rapid expansion of factory production, mining, and railroad construction in all parts of the
country except the South signaled the transition from Lincoln s America to a mature industrial
society demonstrating how the South failed to adapt to the new industrial society. The South did
not really adapt to industrialization as they stuck to their agricultural ways. The new industrial
society created the interest of the American West. The American West begins to capture the
attention of many people as it becomes an area of opportunity. On page 602, Frederick Jackson
Turner argued that on the Western frontier the

The post 9/11 conflict in Iraq and the undeclared war in Vietnam both had a profound impact on
the United States. These two military conflicts have been a source of contention among the
American public for decades. These wars became tedious as a result of their longevity, both the
Vietnam War and the war in Iraq lasted for almost a decade, and according to the US Department
of Defense and Time magazine, those wars cost upwards of 100 billion dollars each. Another
similarity between the VietnamWar and the war in Iraq is the high number of causalities. The
Vietnam War has an estimated 1,353,000 casualty count that includes allied military deaths, NVA

According to the Hoover Institution, a research institution supported by Stanford University, in the
beginning of the Vietnam War, the objective was to prevent the Viet Cong guerrillas from
overthrowing the South Vietnamese government. However, the article points out that by 1968,
president Johnson had lost sight of any objective he had previously. While in office President
Bush sought total victory in Iraq, which he defined as building the Iraqi society into a stable
democracy. In contrast, President Obama s objective was to remove US troops from Iraq. These
wars also had different military strategies. In Vietnam from 1965 to mid 1968, American troops
focused on killing as many of North Vietnamese soldiers and Viet Cong guerrillas as the could, with
the hopeful end result of them quitting. In Iraq the primary commission of American soldiers was
not to kill, but to instead provide security to the population, assist local officials to persuade the
people to support the government, fund tens of thousands of development projects and to institute

beginning with the horseless Buick carriage in 1903. Heavy competition arose when Ford

affordable price. On September 29, 1966 General Motors struck back with its own pony car, the
Chevrolet Camaro. This first model offered the two body style options of hardtop coupe and

Erikson s Psychosocial Theory And Psychosocial Development
Theories and Theorists
Theories are the building blocks of psychology. Theories whether old or new has allowed us to
know what we know now. There are many theories in the field of psychology or educational
psychology that are important to further understand human behavior. However, this paper will
focus on only two theories which are; Erikson s psychosocial theory and Alfred Adlers Adlerian
theory.
Erik Erikson s psychosocial development has always been a great contribution to the field of
psychology by Erik Erikson (Berk, 2007). Erikson suggested that everyone experiences a series of
psychosocial stages instead of psychosexual stages as proposed by Sigmund Freud. Despite the fact
that Erikson disagreed with Sigmund Freud in so many areas in his psychosexual theory, it was
actually Freud s psychosexual theory that helped Erikson formulate his own psychosocial theory
and Erikson was very much influenced by Sigmund and his work (Erikson, 1968). So even if
Erikson disagreed with Freud, Sigmund actually contributed to Erikson s psychosocial theory
because if it wasn t for Freud s shortcomings in his psychosexual theory, Erikson would not have
come up with his own psychosocial theory (Erikson, 1968).
Freud and Erikson hold opposite views on many things. However, they did agree on a few things
to like how they both believed that personality develops in a series of set stages. But dissimilar
from Freud s theory of psychosexual stages, Erikson s theory depicts the influence of

The Ancient Civilization Of Sumerians And Their...
The ancient civilization of Sumer was advanced and sophisticated for its time. The knowledge and
innovation of the people of Sumer demonstrates to use in the modern day that the ancient world
was not as primitive as we once thought. Through examining the intricacies of Sumerian society, the
Sumerian city of Uruk, and the legacy the Sumercivilization had left behind. We can better
appreciate and understand Sumerians and their accomplishments. Ancient Sumer was a civilization
that is estimated to have formed around the year 4,500 BC. in the region most often referred too as
Mesopotamia. Around this time, nomadic headers in this region started to congregate around the
two major rivers in the area: the Trigs and Euphrates Rivers. The reason for this, being that the
soil from the nearby rivers were very fertile, making it great for farming, giving the area its other
name, the Fertile Crescent. The first settlers of what would become Sumer were not only to sustain
themselves through farming and agriculture, but have enough surplus to accommodate a large
population. This in turn led to the creation of large city states along the two rivers and the start of
Sumerian society. Using long irrigation canals and ditches were dug to maintain a reliable source
of crops for these large cities. These cities could have tens of thousands of residents dwelling within
them. With such a large population there was a need to communicate, and around the year 3,000
BC. or slightly earlier Sumerians established their own form of writing.
This new written langue used wedges and dash marks that were pressed into clay tablets with a
stylus. This first style of writing was pictographic in nature, sharing very similarities to the early
hieroglyphics of ancient Egypt. Over a few centuries this style of writing evolved to phonograms,
or symbols relating to spoken words, and became what is known today as Cuneiform. We should
think in terms of writing as a gradual process, accomplished over a wide area rather than the result
of a single Sumerian genius. Sumerians used cuneiform to keep track of crops, livestock, trade, and
even to write literature. The Sumerian Kings List, a large stone tablet that was written in
Cuneiform documents

Examples Of Virtual Representation In The American Colonies
After the French and Indian War the United Colonies and Britain began to clash. This was, for the
most part, due to taxation without representation. Britain had began to tax the colonists heavily due
to the debt of the war. On top of this King George III had just made the proclamation of 1763,
preventing all colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. This upset the colonists
because they had just fought risking their lives for that land and now they are told they cannot use
it. Britain s point of view on taxation without representation was that the colonists were being
represented through virtual representation. While the colonists point of view was that virtual
representation was not a fair way to be represented and instead should be represented through actual
representation. Britain believes that the best way for the colonies of america to be represented is
through virtual representation. Virtual representation means that the representatives themselves are
not necessarily from the region they are representing. Britain s thinking process on this, and
argument of why virtual is better than actual representation, is because with virtual they are able
to have an expert on that region as the representative instead of someone who may be from that
region but is less qualified. An example of virtual representation was the Stamp Act where the
colonists had no say or control over it being passed. The Stamp Act was a direct tax on paper
products. Other examples of

I got this feeling because of his eyes, in the book it had a symbolic meaning. The symbolic
meaning in the book was that his eyes were cold blue and icy, it lost that meaning in the movie.
Additionally, plot relationships differed between the book and movie. For example, the
relationship between Soda and Sandy was very different in the movie. In the movie, Sandy is
barely mentioned, and nothing is known about Sandy going to Florida and her reason for going.
This has both an effect on the plot and understanding the relationship between Soda and Sandy.
Coppola does not develop these characters in the movie as well as Hinton does in the book.
Overall, director Francis Ford Coppola did a great job of selecting actors to play the roles. Coppola
s pick of C.Thomas Howell, as Ponyboy was a very good pick because I imaged Pony the exact
same as it was described in the book. Also, I liked the flow of the movie and the fact that it was
very similar to the book. Coppola set up the scenes beforehand and made sure that the scenes
closely depicted the action in the book. For example, he made sure that the actors that were
playing the Socs, they had all the best clothing. For the greacers, they only had sweat pants. This
made the actors almost feel like they were back at that time and I think this made the movie a
100% better than it could ve been. All in all, when reading a book and then watching the

Ama Ata Aidoo Feminism Analysis
Ama Ata Aidoo s Feminism and Pan Africanism Ama Ata Aidoo is an outstanding black and
female writer. She is a pan Africanist and a feminist but she doesn t use these adjectives separately.
She combines her racial and sexual identity to produce a mixed ideology of feminist pan
Africanism. This is especially significant because the pan Africanismdiscourse, like all political
discourses, is generally dominated by the male. She becomes one of the strongest female voices in
this discourse and she brings another point of view to pan Africanism. Her point of view suggests

Thanks to her family and the people she grew up among, she knows that the African people are
already feminists at heart, despite the fact that there are lots of things to improve. Since she learnt
feminism in Africa, she believes that feminism is a fundamental part of the Africa and it cannot be
separated from Africa. Besides, she also thinks that the rationality behind feminism and pan
Africanism are essentially the same, because both suggests a certain group of people having control
of their own lives. Thus, it is intellectually meaningless to separate one from another. Therefore,
Ama Ata Aidoo knows that liberation of the women also means liberation and solidarity of the

Creating A Business Entity With Her Friend Dan Nemec From...
Amy Bold is thinking about creating a business entity with her friend Dan Nemec from the Czech
Republic. Since Dan is a non resident alien, Amy is concerned whether it imposes any problems
and what would the tax consequences be. Dan doesn t spend any time in the United States, and the
business would provide services in both the United States and the Czech Republic. Amy was
informed that Dan s status of a non resident alien eliminates the opportunity to create an S
corporation; therefore, Amy was thinking about establishing a partnership. While Amy s choice of

Additionally, Form 8865 will have to be filed any time that Amy (or other U.S. person) acquires,
disposes or changes at least a 10% interest in the foreign partnership. Amy, a U.S. citizen, will be
subject to taxation in both the Czech Republic and the United States. She has to report her share
of the foreign partnership income, gains, losses, deductions, and credits on her U.S. tax return.
However, Amy can claim a foreign tax credit and report her distributive share of foreign taxes
paid or accrued. Her status as a resident of the U.S. will not be affected by her involvement in the
foreign partnership, and she will not be subject to any withholdings. Because the partnership will
be involved in a U.S. trade or business, Dan, a non resident alien, will be subject to taxation in
the Czech Republic and he will also be subject to withholdings in the United States. Dan s
distributive share of partnership income derived from a U.S. trade or business will be treated as an

treatment will be applied to guaranteed payments representing a distributive share of U.S. income,

The Building On Winthrop University s Campus And Is The...
Tillman Hall. This is the name of the main building on Winthrop University s campus and is the
name of the clock tower at Clemson University. These two buildings have faced quite a number of
racial incidences over the past couple of years due to the founder of the two buildings, Benjamin
R. Tillman. Many people have raised the issue of having the name changed to something different
over the past couple of years but no changes have been made. There hope is to end the racial
incidences that occur and ultimately stop racismon these two campuses. The major question at hand
is will changing the name of Tillman Hall reduce the number of raceinduced incidents? I do think
that changing the name of Tillman Hall on both of these two campuses will reduce racial
incidences due to the fact that this changes the atmosphere of the school and really holds itself up
to its diversity standard, the changing of the name does not change history but it shows that we as
a people have come far and don t need someone like Benjamin Tillmanat the center representing us,
and it is very likely that these racial incidents will be put to an end as the violent racist and his
legacy is gone. Tillman Hall which was originally known as Main Building was built in 1894 and
served as the main point of Winthrop University s Campus. Winthrop opened in 1895 and started

plastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms
In the 2008 WHO Classification of myeloid neoplasms [1], the myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative
neoplasm (MDS/MPN) category are principally characterized by features overlapping between
Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN) [2]. This category
includes the following disease entities: chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), atypical
chronic myeloid leukemia, BCR ABL1 negative (aCML), juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia
(JMML), Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm with ring sideroblasts and thrombocytosis

In MDS/MPN cases, either normal karyotype or MDS related chromosome abnormalities have
been reported. A high percentage of MDS/MPN patients harbor identifiable mutations in genes
recurrently mutated across myeloid neoplasms when undergoing either targeted panel mutation
analysis or whole exome sequencing with next generation sequencing technology but no disease
defining mutations have been reported [9]. Mutation analysis has emerged as an important
ancillary test to accompany a diagnosis of MDS/MPN; especially in the absence of cytogenetic
chromosome abnormalities because these may serve as a critical clonality marker confirming its
neoplastic nature essential for the diagnosis of a myeloid neoplasm. CMML, among the most well
documented in this group, harbor mutations in genes that include SRSF2, TET2, and ASXL1 in
up to 50% of cases, respectively[9, 10]. Mutations in ASXL1 have also been reported as an
independent prognostic factor along with other clinicopathologic parameters in a multivariable
model [10]. Mutation analysis including these genes can greatly facilitate the diagnosis and
prognostic stratification of CMML [11]. However, a more conservative approach toward the
mutation analysis results is warranted in older individuals lacking definitive evidence of a myeloid
neoplasm, since it is known the presence of mutations in similar set of genes can be identified in
such patients [12,

The definition of the word feral children is undomesticated children. It has been a proven case that
young children cannot survive on their own in the wild they are merely adopted by animals that

The Templar Knights are often associated with the Mary Magdalene controversy. They are
mentioned in The Da Vinci Code a number of times and are historically, a mystery. In The Da
Vinci Code it says that the Templars found documents in the Temple of Solomon of Magdalene s
personal account of her relationship with Jesus, and the quest for the Holy Grail was to kneel at
the bones of the sacred feminine. It further states that the Templars guarded the secret of the
sangreal documents with the members of the Priory of Sion. These documents would have
discussed Jesus child and his marriage and therefore the Templars were protecting the bloodline.

Cathars were notably anti marriage and anti sex so it would seem unlikely for them to make up
this belief, or endorse it in the first place. According to Lynn Picknett [The Cathars] idea of Jesus
and Mary Magdalene being sexual partners can hardly have been the result of wishful thinking on
their part. In fact they struggled with several different theological justifications to explain the
marriage, something that would not have exercised them so greatly if they felt they could
dismiss the story as complete nonsense. (Picknett 94) The Cathars were killed in the Albigensian
Crusade from 1209 to 1229 which first started with the Massacre of Beziers, on the feast day of

Persuasion By Lauren Alexander And Casey Rose
Persuasion is used in every day life, whether its through advertisements, in a debate for an
important political election, or simply a paper over a personal appeal. Humans take advantage of
natural emotions to make the target audience feel a more personal connection to whatever the
person might be arguing or selling. Many people assume it is hard to persuade a stranger, given that
there is no personal ties to the person or group. Yet, it is important to reach target audiences through
a heart clenching claim that gathers their interest or seeps into their emotions, because without this
the audience might simply stop reading. In the essays by Lauren Alexander and Casey Rose, both

There are several different types of data collection methods. It is up to the researcher to decide if
one type of data collection will be used or if several types of data collection will be used. Data can
be collected through observation, reanalysis of existing data, questionnaires, or interviews (Hagan,
2010).
It should be mentioned that data collection is in fact the research step. This step can be very
involved and time consuming. A person will be required to gather any and all information
available on their chosen subject. If the desired information is lacking, then he or she will need to
create the data. This data will then need to be compiled into one place for the researcher to analyze
it. After analyzing the data, any and all findings should be presented. This can be a rather lengthy
step because summarizing, reporting, statistically analyzing, and presenting the findings can
consume more time than all the other steps combined (Hagan, 2010).
Finally, conclusions, interpretations, and limitations should be drawn from the research. This is
the step in which the researcher will explain what he or she believes the study has to say.
Throughout the research process and especially at this juncture, the researcher must take care to
keep his or her personal beliefs and feelings out of their work (Hagan, 2010).
As previously mentioned, it is important that someone wanting to be involved in research in

Comparison of the Effectiveness Of Imagery in “ The Secret...
While writing stories it is importing to keep in mind that readers should be able to picture the
story in their mind while reading. It is best to use effective ways to explain or describe the point;
such as, wording and writing format, in order to grab reader s attention and interest them.
Referring to the readings The secret of Walter Mitty written by James Thurber, and Bartleby the
scrivener written by Melville, both have been written in a great effective way for readers to use
their imagery and develop the ideas of what the story is about. Providing that, both stories have
described the character and setting with enough details to be effective imagery for readers.
Understanding the story and the main characters requires a suitable description of characteristic
and personality of people in the story. Therefore, both stories have introduced the characters
with a brief description to leave a picture of the characters in readers head. In reading The secret
of Walter Mitty, Walter Mitty has been described as a middle age man who has trouble handling
mechanical tasks, forgets mostly everything easily, and someone who is a daydreamer. This
description of Walter Mitty gives readers a picture of a man who may not be able to work very
well and may not have a strong memory. But, daydreams of having great times to forget and not to
worry about his sad moments and his disability. Someone who wants to stay happy and tries to

Comparing The Piano, Sweetie And In The Cut By Jane Campion
Within film, stories are typically told through the perspective of a male; many have attempted
changing this setup, yet women s voices are still an uncommon phenomena. Jane Campion, director,
brings to light the necessity for a female narrative in cinema. Campion utilizes feminist film
techniques and artistry within her shots to compose an indirect dialogue, critiquing the male
dominated filmindustry. All the while, Campion simultaneously creates a voice for women, art that
the feminine populace can empathize with.
Across the films The Piano, Sweetie, and In the Cut, Campion warns the audience of the
consequences of erasing the female voice with high angle shots, engendering the feelings of
vulnerability and isolation. The Piano displays this type of shot near the end of the film, when

As the film progresses, this dream reflects the main character s (Franny) state of mind. As she
becomes increasingly hysterical about the happenings around her, high angles become prevalent in
her dreams. Her last dream consists of the camera reaching high above Franny s mother, as the
audience observes her being hurt by her husband, leaving her alone and bleeding, similarly to Ada
in The Piano. This demonstrates yet another instance in which a woman s voice is cut off by a man.
Though the husband does not take her physical voice, he takes a part of her, a part of her story.
This parallels Franny s occupation within the film. An English teacher, numerous metaphors are

which directly connects to voice. As each body is found dead, all women, their voices are taken

Religion and Prayer Must Not be Permitted in Public...
Early American colonists anticipated a country full of freedoms and opportunities. As the new
government was beginning to develop, the Founders took into consideration the restrictions placed
on them and their fellow immigrants in their former home lands. One difficulty the colonists
encountered back in Europe was the inability to practice a desired religionor not to practice one at
all. Since the newly formed country was made up of people from more than one religious
background, the government had to come up with a way to accommodate all of its citizens.

Since the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment protects the citizens from being influenced
or offended by government sponsor ed religion, prayer in the public school system is intolerable.
Accordingly, the idea of secularism was first proposed by James Madison in the religion clauses,
because he wanted to avoid any sort of political influence on religious institutions (Alley 1 8). As a
result of Madison s initiation of the concept of secularism, the role of religion in government
institutions such as schools is now considered unconstitutional.
In defiance to the Court s separation of church and state ruling, many public school districts persist
to support the exercise of prayer. Numerous cases have arisen reflecting the opposing views on the
role of prayer, including the 1962 precedent setting court case Engel v. Vitale. The debate occurred
because the children of a New York public school district were required to recite the following lines
every morning: Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon thee, and we beg t hey
blessing upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country (Sikorski xi). In response, the Supreme
Court immediately reprimanded the school system by declaring the act unconstitutional and
banning the prayer. The school and other advocates ar gued that the prayer was nondenominational

King Lear Dysfunctional Family
Characteristics of dysfunctional families are found throughout the play King Lear by William
Shakespeare. Dysfunctional means not operating properly, so a dysfunctional family is a family
that does not operate properly. One characteristic of a dysfunctional family is the display of not
respecting others. Another characteristic is a lack of trust. Greed also tarnishes families. These
characteristics are seen in King Lear. Not showing respect for others is a characteristic of a
dysfunctional family. When family members do not trust each other it can be humiliating to those
involved. This can ruin relationships. When Cordelia publicly refuses to go along with Lear s
game, Lear sees it as a lack of respect. In his moment of fury, Lear disowns Cordelia splitting
apart the family. Another time this is seen is when Lear comes to stay with Goneril. Here do you
keep a hundred knights and squires, men so disordered, so debauched and bold, that is our court,
infected with their manners, shoes like a riotous inn, (Shakespeare p.107). Goneril takes this

ABSTRACT
Healthcare sector is facing plethora of challenges ranging from poor infrastructure to population
explosions, large masses of population shifting from rural to urban area etc. Traditional facilities
makes user confined thus restricts user movement especially elderly people. Our goal is to increase
medical efficiency and reduce burden on healthcare infrastructure. We intend to create a prototype
of a self sufficient health monitoring system which requires low investment for development and
provide quality healthcare at the same time. For proposed system, Arduino Mega 2560 processor is
used along with various sensors and data transmission system. Sensors used are accelerometer, body
temperature, heart rate and Electrocardiogram which gives basic patient monitoring data. Attached
LCD displays various health related parameters. Interactive mobile app is developed on android
platform which displays parameters. Received data can be transmitted remotely for further analysis
also help doctors monitor overall health of their patient remotely while transmission system ensures
safety during critical times. Through our project, we want to bridge the gap between healthcare and
technology and help the masses stay fit and healthy.

after, they meet the Buddha, whom Govinda stays with to be a monk while Siddhartha leaves to

In his article, Koester describes Hesse s approach to youthfulness as no more than the tortured
development of individuality, wondering if this is derived from Hesse s own rebellious
childhood. Esther Gropper talks of the typical mental development as a three stage process,
which Hesse uses frequently. The first, typically young childhood, is characterized by respect and
happiness. The second, after the person is introduced to good and evil, is characterized by despair
and loneliness. The third is encountered when the person is able to separate himself or herself
from the pain of reality to realize pure thought. Gropper also notes that Siddhartha is so popular
among the young because the characters suffer loneliness and despair before realizing their place in
the world by discovering more about themselves.
Hans Beerman
Siddhartha feels he must discover this purpose to life on his own, whereas Govinda feels he can
learn it by listening to and following the doctrines of others. It is noted in the beginning of the story
that Govinda and Siddhartha are two young Brahmins who are quite intelligent and already debate
the aspects of their religion with adults. However, Siddhartha already begins his questioning of the
traditional beliefs. He begins to wonder

How Does Margaret Atwood Affect Society
Margaret Atwood, one of Canada s most respected authors, is inspired by science fiction. She
found this inspiration from her father because he was a scientist. [Additionally, he was who she
looked up to due to his successes in life.] She uses women as her speakers and often presents a
dystopia in her work, which shows women as stronger characters in societies with problems.
Margaret Eleanor Atwood was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on November 18, 1939. Atwood is
the second child of Margaret Dorothy and Carl Edmund Atwood. Most of Atwood s childhood
memories were spent outside of northern Quebec and traveling to many places due to her fatherВґs
job, an entomologist. In 1957 Atwood graduated from Leaside High School in Leaside, Toronto.
She began writing at a very young age, and her favorite poet was Edgar Allen Poe. Her mind was
set to become a writer at the age of 16. She started her career at Victoria College,... Show more

An example of this diction would be and when you set out the poison/ I piss on it/ to warn the
others, from the poem Rat Song . In The animals in that country she believes that her own country
is more honest than other countries in the world. She uses animals to symbolize people
everywhere, but in her country animals are animals, and in other countries animals are people.
Atwood continues the same type of symbolism in Rat Song because she compares the speaker to a
parasite. She uses animal imagery in both Rat Song and The animals in that country to show the
reader that there are creatures that are not what they seem to be, and they do their damage and then
disappear. The poem Rat Song is a metaphor. It compares the rat to a woman who is warning others
to stay away from this man when she states, All I want is love, you stupid/ humanist . She further
continues using metaphor in The animals in that country, where people are technically

Modern Techniques Of Mrs Dalloway
Virginia Woolf started writing Mrs. Dalloway in June 1922 and she completed the novel by
October 1924. With the publication of Mrs Dalloway in 1925, Woolf offered one of her greatest
novels to the literary world. Mrs Dalloway is known to be her one of the most experimental
novels as she experimented with the form of the novel. In this chapter there would be an
endeavour to analyse how Mrs Woolf has used modern techniques while writing this novel. The
novel is created from her two short stories, Mrs Dallowayin Bond Street and the unfinished The
Prime Minister . Mrs Dalloway is about a single day a Wednesday in mid June 1923 in life of
Clarissa Dalloway, the social hostess. Mrs Dalloway is the same who made a brief appearance in
The Voyage Out. There she was exquisite and bright and excessively interested and now at fifty

interweaves two seemingly unconnected storylines. Clarissa, aged fifty two has recently
recovered from an illness. The novel begins with Mrs Dalloway s getting ready in the morning to
go out to buy flowers for her party she is to host that evening. Throughout the morning, Clarissa
reflects on her past, including her decision to marry reliable Richard Dalloway thirty years earlier,
instead of the enigmatic and demanding Peter Walsh. Her conflicts are reintroduced as Peter makes
a surprise visit to her at her home.
Meanwhile, the second storyline begins with Septimus Warren Smith, a shell shocked war veteran,
out on the street with his Italian wife, Lucrezia. Septimus struggles with the after effects of the
war, hearing voices and feeling that life has little meaning. A car backfiring paralyzes him, and he

Essay on Analysis of The Maltese Falcon
Analysis of The Maltese Falcon
The Maltese Falcon, was not only a detective film, but a film that displayed many different aspects
of the female and the male character in the movie. The film was more than a story, but a story that
explored the ideas of the detective genre and the different characteristics of femininity and
masculinity. It also brought forth subjects of sexual desires and the greediness of money. The
characters and the visual motifs in the film contributed to the developing of the plot and assisted in
creating a more detective and gender oriented film. In the film, The Maltese Falcon, the role of men
and women are portrayed in different ways in the film to show the distinct functions of masculinity

She used her figure as a power tool and focused on her image to express the way she felt. Women
in these cases were very distracting to the male characters in the film. Sam said to Iva, ?You
shouldn?t have come here today, precious. It wasn?t wise. You can?t stay.? This shows that Iva
was in the way of Sam Spade?s work. Iva was seen as a suspicious character in film as well. Effie
said to Sam, ?She kept me waiting at the door while she undressed, her clothes on a chair where
she dumped her hat and coat underneath, her slip was still warm.? This quote described the
suspicions that Effie had about Iva on the night that Miles, Iva?s husband was murdered. Sam could
trust Effie, but both Effie and Sam had a hard time trusting Iva. This may have meant that some
men may have a harder time trusting woman who are very feminine.
A character that Sam Spade had a hard time trusting was a woman named Brigid O?Shaughnessy,
who was also know as Miss Wonderly. Effie said to Sam, ?She?s a knockout.? Not only did Effie
and Sam Spade see that she was pretty, but so did his partner, Miles. Miles said to Sam, ?She?s
sweet...Maybe you saw her first, but I spoke first.? Brigid takes on the sexy woman figure whose
voice is gentle, helpless, and manipulative all at the same time. She is very self centered and tends
to deceive others in order to get what she wants. Brigid said to Sam, ?Can?t you shield me so that I
won?t have to answer their questions...I am afraid and alone.?

Class, After reading both articles I am going to be giving my thoughts on Androgynous Man by
Noel Perrin, pg. 242 243. Are the sentences long, short, poetic, or matter of fact? In comparison
to Once more to the lake , I found the sentences in Androgynous Man to be short and easy for me
to understand. The sentences in Androgynous Man , while easier to understand were not nearly as
descriptive or informative as sentences in Once more to the lake . Is the author successful in
creating an interesting or moving piece about the memory? In my opinion, Perrin, was not
successful at bringing the memories of his story to life. While the story itself was well written, in
my opinion it did not paint a vivid picture of how Perrin recalled his childhood.

about her students. The teacher needs to be caring so that the students in the class feel important

nice so that if a studentis having a bad day that they will be able to cheer the student up. The

Ireland Before The Potato Famine
Q7. In the 1840s, Ireland was faced with a terrible trouble, one that would end up affecting the
lives many. This moment in Ireland s history would be known as the Great Famine. This historic
event would create a massive shortage of food in Ireland. It would affect everything; for example,
some people would starve to death, others would leave the country. The Great Faminewas known as
a hard time in Irelands history. This obviously affect the people s food source and it also decreased
the population by many, the changes within Ireland were drastic.
Before the Great Famine, Ireland was flourishing with people, life overall was good. That would
all take a radical turn, many lives would change due to the upcoming famine. From 1845 to 1848,
it would become known as a turning point in Ireland s history. At this time, a potato famine had
erupted within Ireland. It was caused due to a plant fungus that had ruined almost all of their crop.

Australia, Canada, Britain, and the United States. About 2.5% emigrated to Australia, 11.5%

continued to grow worse back in Ireland for the peasants. Many of them had lost their land and fell
into large amounts of debt. With the small amounts of food remaining, wealthy landowners would

the magnificent house for only ten years. With the start of the American Revolution, Roger fled to

Bud Light Rhetorical Analysis Essay
In Bud Light s advertisement for Bud Light Lime a lime flavored beer they use persuasive
techniques by depicting a giant beer bottle on a sunny island and attractive females around it with
the slogan, Dive into some lime and you ll have a good time, in order to get people to purchase
their product. The three main persuasive techniques are called: logos, pathos, and ethos. Logos is
an appeal to logic as a method of persuasionby reason, while pathos is an appeal to emotion in
order to persuade. Lastly, ethos is persuasion by way of ethics and presentation of character. The
advertisement for Bud Light Lime includes two of the previously mentioned techniques. The Bud
Light advertisement uses pathos and ethos to persuade potential consumers into buying Bud Light
Lime. First, they use pathos by showing the sunny island and mentioning you ll have a good time .
This shows pathos because sunny days and islands are associated with happiness to most people
and this idea is further back up by the promise of fun. Second, ethos is used by having attractive
women next to the bottle. By doing this, Bud Light is implying that... Show more content on

Struggles Of A Black Man
Struggles Of a Black Man Ballad of the Landlord is a poem by Langston Hughes that shows the
struggles of a black man in a white society. There are opposing forces that make this black man
suffer and he gets no retribution or any justice for the things that the people accuse him of.
Through each of these voices the poem is thoroughly explained and can be analysed in such a
way. The forces in this poem is the tenant, landlord, police, and the press. Each one of these
forces shows the racial struggles of an innocent black man. The main person in the poem is the
tenant, which in the last line tells us, he is black. The tenant is characterized by his slang and
his strong dislike for the landlord. The tenant uses slang, contracted words, and nonstandard
grammar. This non formal way of English suggests the tenant s separation from the world of
convention, represented by the formal way of the police and the press, which appear later in the
poem. Although the tenant speaks in a non formal way, do not let that fool you. The tenant s
reason to be mad at the landlord is reasonable and just. He begins with a reasonable complaint and
a gentle reminder that the complaint is already a week old: My roof has sprung a leak. / Don t you
member I told you about it / Way last week? (lines 2 4). In the second stanza, he appeals
diplomatically to the landlord s self interest: These steps is broken down. / When you come up
yourself / It s a wonder you don t fall down (6 8). In the third

UC Berkeley: Origin of Free Speech, Topic of Extremes
Here we go again; yet again do we, as Americans, get to see another protest go violent, but what is
it about this time? Following up with recent news, Milo Yiannopolis, a highly controversial right
wing speaker and Breitbart columnist, was forced to evacuate UC Berkeley after a protest broke
into violence as many left protesters began destroying nearby areas and attacking innocent
people. Naturally, with such a controversial person coming to UC Berkeley and such a violent
occurring as a result, many opinions came out to the surface including two extreme articles that
we will focus on: a left wing article from Daily Cal by Luis Tenorio and Miranda Smith and a right
wing article from Fox News by Todd Starnes.
Throughout the article by Tenorio and Smith, the violence of the event is written off and excused
as a defense, saying that it crossed the line of tolerance as they claim that [tolerance] ends where

is a major issue of free speech and academic freedom as this event presents itself as an attack on the
First Amendment and academic freedom. By shutting down the event with violence, it is forcefully

books have to offer. Beatty tells Montag, What traitors books can be! You think they re backing
you up, and then they turn on you. Others can use them, too, and there you are, lost in the middle
of the moor, in a great welter of nouns and verbs and adjectives. But, Beatty is missing the point
on how valuable books can be. So Beatty tells Montag to read through all of the books Montag has
stashed to see if the books contain anything worthwhile, then the next day turn them in to be

After Montag is finished burning the house down, Beatty arrests Montag. When Beatty begins to
rebuke Montag, Montag turns on his superior and with the flamethrower, proceeds to burn

preserved. Bradbury chose the book Ecclesiastes as one book of significant merit regarding the
preservation of society because in Ecclesiastes, a lot of the theme focuses on how worldly
satisfaction, pointlessness, material goods, and worldly pursuits are valueless, unimportant, and
empty. Pursuing the world, filling your life with pursuits of money and pleasure will leave you
without anything of real importance in the end. That represents the society that Montag lived in,
and how it is empty and pointless, notwithstanding its full and busy schedule as it goes after its
worldly pleasures. Ecclesiastes is an important book in the Bible, Montag memorizes it, and
becomes the book s guardian as Montag and the The Book People go to help rebuild the city.

Computer Topology Of A Network INTRODUCTION: The physical or network topology of a network seriously affects the network price, dependability, throughput, and approach pattern, etc, thus we want to contemplate these multiple criteria having totally different units, at the same time. However, normal ways of planning topology contemplate solely one criterion, e.g., minimizing the specified range of physical links. during this paper, we tend to propose a topology style methodology exploitation average rank , that is calculated by averaging the ranks of all criteria. This methodology needs very little calculation and therefore the principle of topology analysis is basically straightforward. Through numerical analysis, we tend to show that this methodology will realize... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Pros And Cons Of Kevin Durant Leaving Oklahoma City NBA article NBA fans still shocked about Kevin Durant leaving Oklahoma City and how much hate he is getting from all his fans and the community of NBA basketball. LeBrone James still thinks Cleveland cavaliers should trade more players even when they recently had Kyle Korver. LeBrone also thinks he can keep functioning Cleveland without Kevin Love on the team. We the community do not like the way NBA players move teams and leaving their old team into the dust. Many players like Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose and Kyle Korver have left their team to join a new one. Kevin Durant lost the semi finals in 2016 against golden state warriors and in 2017 he joined golden state warriors. He said if you can t beat them, join them. That left a lot of hate from his teammates and his fans. At this moment we burned all our jerseys on Kevin because of how much we hate him for what he did. Same with other players, it s really hard to see our favourite players leave their team.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. The Pre Licensing Course Exam I passed the pre licensing course exam within the acceptable margin which means I answered at least 80% of the questions correctly. Now, on to the state exam. It is a 115 question multiple choice test with a four hour time frame. 5 of the questions are dummies and will not be scored. You must answer correctly 82 of the 110 questions or score at least 75%. The instructor stressed to all of us in the class to apply immediately to The North Carolina Real EstateCommission to take the state real estate exam after we finished the pre licensing course. I forgot the exact statistics. But, I recall that you stand an excellent chance of passing the exam on the first try within 2 weeks after taking the pre licensing exam because the material you learned and was tested on is fresh in your mind. For each day that passes after the two week period, your chances of passing goes down considerably. You are allowed to take the exam a second time if you fail on the first attempt. If you fail on the second try, you have to start from square one with the pre licensing course. I had filled out The North Carolina Real Estate Commission exam application weeks before the end of the pre licensing course ended which our instructor encouraged us to do. It is extremely important to fill out the application entirely, accurately and to furnish all the identification documents requested by the Commission. Most important is to assure that your legal name on the application matches exactly, letter by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Ralph Waldo Emerson Self Reliance Quote Self reliance allows for an individual to see their own self value. Ralph Waldo Emerson has a quote that represents this aspect of self reliance, Greatness is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon; it must be possessed long before it is acknowledged. Self reliance has many different qualities including doing good and not expecting any praise because that person knows that they have done good and that should be enough for them. Ralph Waldo Emersons quote shows how teens and Americans need to be self reliant and need to do great things without the final outcome for doing those great actions only being the acknowledgment of others. By being self reliant an individual is able to be happy knowing that they have greatness in them. It must be possessed long before it is acknowledged. (Emerson), meaning that in order for a man to be great they need to be able to do great things without the want of praise. Emerson also states, Greatness is a property for which no man can receive credit too soon. I take this to mean that greatness is not something that can be attained instantly and that someone needs to be self reliant before they can be considered great. Self reliance is a quality that is hard to achieve and in Emerson s quote he states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By doing great things with the intention of receiving a reward that person is being selfish. • 6. My Philosophy Of Small Groups Essay Introduction Over the years, many models have been developed and implemented to endeavor to make disciples. Some of the models have been effective and others have not. Among some of the most biblical and efficient models are the ones that involve small groups. Within the small groups models, they can be broken down into further detail, such as pastoral involvement, the church s goal, missions mindedness, etc. In this paper, I will explain my philosophy of small groups in a church and the importance of the relational group in authentic disciple making. I will also explain how missional groups can help the body of Christ move out into the community. Finally, I will summarize my status in regards to living in community with other believers and being missional with that community. My Philosophy of Small Groups My personal philosophy of small groups is scriptural based. Acts 2:46 says, And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. As the original church began, it is obvious from Acts chapter two and particularly from verse 46 that the church met in unity in large groups. They actually used a two fold approach of meeting in large group meetings and then in the homes for more intimate small group gatherings. Acts 2:46 clearly shows the church gathering in homes, eating together, and continuing the work of the ministry. Effective ministry is connecting with both God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Additionally, a visible paraspinal muscle twitch at L5 is cannot be resolved through visual inspection, regardless of stimulation intensity. Clinical observations in the OR of both clinicians did, however, suggest that activation of the intrinsic back muscle at L5, can be recorded using EMG. Such use of EMG electrodes also allows for greater sensitivity to motor thresholds when compared to visual inspection. The motor thresholds that are identified visually, are far greater than those determined with EMG (Westin et al., Clin Neurophysiol 2014; 125: 142 147). As such, low levels of muscle activation (i.e. threshold) cannot be reliably discerned by visual inspection. Additionally, when ultrasonography was used as an additional visualization tool during clinical studies, sole activation of the multifidus muscle was seen without a visible paraspinal muscle twitch. I was heading into the City for the first time and as if that wasn t scary enough on its own; I was going to meet my brother. The same brother I didn t know existed until nine months ago. It had started when I received a letter in the post, which in itself was a surprise. It had taken a couple of weeks to get over the shock and come to terms with the fact I had a brother. Over the following months we had spoken to each other through various forms of social media and instant messenger, getting to know each other more. So far I had learnt that his name was Michael Fuentes but that he preferred to go by Mike and that he was two years younger than me at twenty eight. He fitted the gangster stereotype perfectly, but the more I got to know him the more I disagreed with the label. He had long hair, like me, but he had shaved the sides so it was technically a Mohawk. I was also really surprised by his voice as it was a lot softer than I had imagined based on his appearance and the small amount of information I had prior to speaking to him. I also knew that he had both arms covered in tattoos as was his neck from the pictures I had seen online although he had told me that he had more over his torso and legs. Along with the new economy came with complications that affected the improvement of conditions in work and in life. During the Gilded Age, there is a difference between the North and South economies. When industrialization started to consume the United States, the North quickly adapted to the change as cities begin to develop allowing citizens to move to industrial cities in search of new opportunities such as employment. On page 592 it states the rapid expansion of factory production, mining, and railroad construction in all parts of the country except the South signaled the transition from Lincoln s America to a mature industrial society demonstrating how the South failed to adapt to the new industrial society. The South did not really adapt to industrialization as they stuck to their agricultural ways. The new industrial society created the interest of the American West. While in office President Bush sought total victory in Iraq, which he defined as building the Iraqi society into a stable democracy. In contrast, President Obama s objective was to remove US troops from Iraq. These wars also had different military strategies. In Vietnam from 1965 to mid 1968, American troops focused on killing as many of North Vietnamese soldiers and Viet Cong guerrillas as the could, with the hopeful end result of them quitting. In Iraq the primary commission of American soldiers was not to kill, but to instead provide security to the population, assist local officials to persuade the people to support the government, fund tens of thousands of development projects and to institute the Western rule of ... • 16. Erikson s Psychosocial Theory And Psychosocial Development Theories and Theorists Theories are the building blocks of psychology. Theories whether old or new has allowed us to know what we know now. There are many theories in the field of psychology or educational psychology that are important to further understand human behavior. However, this paper will focus on only two theories which are; Erikson s psychosocial theory and Alfred Adlers Adlerian theory. Erik Erikson s psychosocial development has always been a great contribution to the field of psychology by Erik Erikson (Berk, 2007). Erikson suggested that everyone experiences a series of psychosocial stages instead of psychosexual stages as proposed by Sigmund Freud. Despite the fact that Erikson disagreed with Sigmund Freud in so many areas in his psychosexual theory, it was actually Freud s psychosexual theory that helped Erikson formulate his own psychosocial theory and Erikson was very much influenced by Sigmund and his work (Erikson, 1968). So even if Erikson disagreed with Freud, Sigmund actually contributed to Erikson s psychosocial theory because if it wasn t for Freud s shortcomings in his psychosexual theory, Erikson would not have come up with his own psychosocial theory (Erikson, 1968). Freud and Erikson hold opposite views on many things. However, they did agree on a few things to like how they both believed that personality develops in a series of set stages. • 18. The Ancient Civilization Of Sumerians And Their... The ancient civilization of Sumer was advanced and sophisticated for its time. The knowledge and innovation of the people of Sumer demonstrates to use in the modern day that the ancient world was not as primitive as we once thought. Through examining the intricacies of Sumerian society, the Sumerian city of Uruk, and the legacy the Sumercivilization had left behind. We can better appreciate and understand Sumerians and their accomplishments. Ancient Sumer was a civilization that is estimated to have formed around the year 4,500 BC. in the region most often referred too as Mesopotamia. Around this time, nomadic headers in this region started to congregate around the two major rivers in the area: the Trigs and Euphrates Rivers. The reason for this, being that the soil from the nearby rivers were very fertile, making it great for farming, giving the area its other name, the Fertile Crescent. The first settlers of what would become Sumer were not only to sustain themselves through farming and agriculture, but have enough surplus to accommodate a large population. This in turn led to the creation of large city states along the two rivers and the start of Sumerian society. Using long irrigation canals and ditches were dug to maintain a reliable source of crops for these large cities. These cities could have tens of thousands of residents dwelling within them. With such a large population there was a need to communicate, and around the year 3,000 BC. or slightly earlier Sumerians established their own form of writing. This new written langue used wedges and dash marks that were pressed into clay tablets with a stylus. This first style of writing was pictographic in nature, sharing very similarities to the early hieroglyphics of ancient Egypt. Over a few centuries this style of writing evolved to phonograms, or symbols relating to spoken words, and became what is known today as Cuneiform. We should think in terms of writing as a gradual process, accomplished over a wide area rather than the result of a single Sumerian genius. Sumerians used cuneiform to keep track of crops, livestock, trade, and even to write literature. The Sumerian Kings List, a large stone tablet that was written in Cuneiform documents ... • 19. Examples Of Virtual Representation In The American Colonies After the French and Indian War the United Colonies and Britain began to clash. This was, for the most part, due to taxation without representation. Britain had began to tax the colonists heavily due to the debt of the war. On top of this King George III had just made the proclamation of 1763, preventing all colonists from settling west of the Appalachian Mountains. This upset the colonists because they had just fought risking their lives for that land and now they are told they cannot use it. Britain s point of view on taxation without representation was that the colonists were being represented through virtual representation. While the colonists point of view was that virtual representation was not a fair way to be represented and instead should be represented through actual representation. Britain believes that the best way for the colonies of america to be represented is through virtual representation. Virtual representation means that the representatives themselves are not necessarily from the region they are representing. Britain s thinking process on this, and argument of why virtual is better than actual representation, is because with virtual they are able to have an expert on that region as the representative instead of someone who may be from that region but is less qualified. An example of virtual representation was the Stamp Act where the colonists had no say or control over it being passed. The Stamp Act was a direct tax on paper products. Other examples of ... In the movie, Sandy is barely mentioned, and nothing is known about Sandy going to Florida and her reason for going. This has both an effect on the plot and understanding the relationship between Soda and Sandy. Coppola does not develop these characters in the movie as well as Hinton does in the book. Overall, director Francis Ford Coppola did a great job of selecting actors to play the roles. Coppola s pick of C.Thomas Howell, as Ponyboy was a very good pick because I imaged Pony the exact same as it was described in the book. Also, I liked the flow of the movie and the fact that it was very similar to the book. Coppola set up the scenes beforehand and made sure that the scenes closely depicted the action in the book. Many people have raised the issue of having the name changed to something different over the past couple of years but no changes have been made. There hope is to end the racial incidences that occur and ultimately stop racismon these two campuses. The major question at hand is will changing the name of Tillman Hall reduce the number of raceinduced incidents? I do think that changing the name of Tillman Hall on both of these two campuses will reduce racial incidences due to the fact that this changes the atmosphere of the school and really holds itself up to its diversity standard, the changing of the name does not change history but it shows that we as a people have come far and don t need someone like Benjamin Tillmanat the center representing us, and it is very likely that these racial incidents will be put to an end as the violent racist and his legacy is gone. Mutation analysis has emerged as an important ancillary test to accompany a diagnosis of MDS/MPN; especially in the absence of cytogenetic chromosome abnormalities because these may serve as a critical clonality marker confirming its neoplastic nature essential for the diagnosis of a myeloid neoplasm. CMML, among the most well documented in this group, harbor mutations in genes that include SRSF2, TET2, and ASXL1 in up to 50% of cases, respectively[9, 10]. It is best to use effective ways to explain or describe the point; such as, wording and writing format, in order to grab reader s attention and interest them. Referring to the readings The secret of Walter Mitty written by James Thurber, and Bartleby the scrivener written by Melville, both have been written in a great effective way for readers to use their imagery and develop the ideas of what the story is about. As I step out of the car the overwhelming purity of the Canadian air envelops me like a cool swimming pool on a scorching hot day. We have finally arrived at the most beautiful place on earth, Rainy LakeCanada. The first thing I do is wander around to truly take in the beauty of where we have arrived. I look to my left and observe a pair of quaint little brown cabins. Perched perfectly on the hill as if God himself had placed them there. Directly in front of me is the vast and gorgeous Rainy Lake. The dock extends so far that the end of the dock cannot be seen because of the darkness, appearing to resemble a walkway to a new dimension. I make my way to the beginning of the dock and begin my journey to the new world. Walking through the darkness to the other side I can feel the temperature changing and a smooth breeze beginning to whistle. I finally make my way to the seemingly new universe. However, the darkness engulfs all of these beautiful things and none of them exist in this new world that I have discovered. • 34. Comparing The Piano, Sweetie And In The Cut By Jane Campion Within film, stories are typically told through the perspective of a male; many have attempted changing this setup, yet women s voices are still an uncommon phenomena. Jane Campion, director, brings to light the necessity for a female narrative in cinema. Campion utilizes feminist film techniques and artistry within her shots to compose an indirect dialogue, critiquing the male dominated filmindustry. All the while, Campion simultaneously creates a voice for women, art that the feminine populace can empathize with. Across the films The Piano, Sweetie, and In the Cut, Campion warns the audience of the consequences of erasing the female voice with high angle shots, engendering the feelings of vulnerability and isolation. The Piano displays this type of shot near the end of the film, when mute main character Ada McGrath gets her finger chopped off by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This demonstrates yet another instance in which a woman s voice is cut off by a man. Though the husband does not take her physical voice, he takes a part of her, a part of her story. This parallels Franny s occupation within the film. An English teacher, numerous metaphors are applied throughout, allowing Franny to take hold of her voice where other characters cease to do so. As the new government was beginning to develop, the Founders took into consideration the restrictions placed on them and their fellow immigrants in their former home lands. One difficulty the colonists encountered back in Europe was the inability to practice a desired religionor not to practice one at all. Since the newly formed country was made up of people from more than one religious background, the government had to come up with a way to accommodate all of its citizens. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment protects the citizens from being influenced or offended by government sponsor ed religion, prayer in the public school system is intolerable. Accordingly, the idea of secularism was first proposed by James Madison in the religion clauses, because he wanted to avoid any sort of political influence on religious institutions (Alley 1 8). As a result of Madison s initiation of the concept of secularism, the role of religion in government institutions such as schools is now considered unconstitutional. In defiance to the Court s separation of church and state ruling, many public school districts persist to support the exercise of prayer. Numerous cases have arisen reflecting the opposing views on the role of prayer, including the 1962 precedent setting court case Engel v. Vitale. The debate occurred because the children of a New York public school district were required to recite the following lines every morning: Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon thee, and we beg t hey blessing upon us, our parents, our teachers and our country (Sikorski xi). In response, the Supreme Court immediately reprimanded the school system by declaring the act unconstitutional and banning the prayer. Dysfunctional means not operating properly, so a dysfunctional family is a family that does not operate properly. One characteristic of a dysfunctional family is the display of not respecting others. Another characteristic is a lack of trust. Greed also tarnishes families. These characteristics are seen in King Lear. Not showing respect for others is a characteristic of a dysfunctional family. When family members do not trust each other it can be humiliating to those involved. This can ruin relationships. When Cordelia publicly refuses to go along with Lear s game, Lear sees it as a lack of respect. In his moment of fury, Lear disowns Cordelia splitting apart the family. Another time this is seen is when Lear comes to stay with Goneril. • 53. Struggles Of A Black Man Struggles Of a Black Man Ballad of the Landlord is a poem by Langston Hughes that shows the struggles of a black man in a white society. There are opposing forces that make this black man suffer and he gets no retribution or any justice for the things that the people accuse him of. Through each of these voices the poem is thoroughly explained and can be analysed in such a way. The forces in this poem is the tenant, landlord, police, and the press. Each one of these forces shows the racial struggles of an innocent black man. The main person in the poem is the tenant, which in the last line tells us, he is black. The tenant is characterized by his slang and his strong dislike for the landlord. The tenant uses slang, contracted words, and nonstandard grammar. This non formal way of English suggests the tenant s separation from the world of convention, represented by the formal way of the police and the press, which appear later in the poem. Although the tenant speaks in a non formal way, do not let that fool you. The tenant s reason to be mad at the landlord is reasonable and just. He begins with a reasonable complaint and a gentle reminder that the complaint is already a week old: My roof has sprung a leak. / Don t you member I told you about it / Way last week? (lines 2 4). In the second stanza, he appeals diplomatically to the landlord s self interest: These steps is broken down. / When you come up yourself / It s a wonder you don t fall down (6 8). In the third ... Uc Berkeley Research Paper UC Berkeley: Origin of Free Speech, Topic of Extremes Here we go again; yet again do we, as Americans, get to see another protest go violent, but what is it about this time? Following up with recent news, Milo Yiannopolis, a highly controversial right wing speaker and Breitbart columnist, was forced to evacuate UC Berkeley after a protest broke into violence as many left protesters began destroying nearby areas and attacking innocent people. Naturally, with such a controversial person coming to UC Berkeley and such a violent occurring as a result, many opinions came out to the surface including two extreme articles that we will focus on: a left wing article from Daily Cal by Luis Tenorio and Miranda Smith and a right wing article from Fox News by Todd Starnes. Throughout the article by Tenorio and Smith, the violence of the event is written off and excused as a defense, saying that it crossed the line of tolerance as they claim that [tolerance] ends where harm begins and that it is an event about safety and equitable ... Through this, it can be seen that they decided to focus on what they see, which is a valid view, and to deny the presence of other viewpoints and issues that are present. It may be true that yes, for you two, this is solely an issue on personal safety; however for many who disagree with you, it is a major issue of free speech and academic freedom as this event presents itself as an attack on the First Amendment and academic freedom. By shutting down the event with violence, it is forcefully cutting off and blocking the differing opinion and ultimately isolating students, including those of which who want to hear different opinions, within a bubble of the ideas you hold. Ecclesiastes In Ray Bradbury s Fahrenheit 451 Montag s desire to acquire knowledge through books is dealt with by the rulers is that Montag s boss, Beatty, says it was normal for a fireman to go through these phases of fascination of what books have to offer. Beatty tells Montag, What traitors books can be! You think they re backing you up, and then they turn on you. Others can use them, too, and there you are, lost in the middle of the moor, in a great welter of nouns and verbs and adjectives. But, Beatty is missing the point on how valuable books can be. So Beatty tells Montag to read through all of the books Montag has stashed to see if the books contain anything worthwhile, then the next day turn them in to be burned. The book Ecclesiastes is deemed as the book of the Bible that must be preserved. Bradbury chose the book Ecclesiastes as one book of significant merit regarding the preservation of society because in Ecclesiastes, a lot of the theme focuses on how worldly satisfaction, pointlessness, material goods, and worldly pursuits are valueless, unimportant, and empty. Pursuing the world, filling your life with pursuits of money and pleasure will leave you without anything of real importance in the end. That represents the society that Montag lived in, and how it is empty and pointless, notwithstanding its full and busy schedule as it goes after its worldly pleasures. Ecclesiastes is an important book in the Bible, Montag memorizes it, and becomes the book s guardian as Montag and the The Book People go to help rebuild the city.
