Persuasive Essay Against Animal Captivity
Seaworld should be banned from keeping animals held captive
Keeping animals in captivity is an argument over the rights for the animals held
captive at seaworld or marine parks around the world. Keeping animals held captive
is when large sea animals are captured from the ocean and kept in a small
enviroment such as a tank or an aquarium that are used for shows and entertainment
living an unnatural life.Seaworld is a marine mammal park that puts animals such as
whales and dolphins into serious harm that can help in the killing of the species as
whales are in danger of extinction. In this report i have found imformation on the
affects of keeping whales and dolphins held captive and how they would adapt back

It seems that some mammals may be more endangered in the wild after captivity as
some orcas may be unable to survive in the wild after captivity as they may be too
mentally and physically scared after the habitat they have lived their lives in as

Slums
Slums
Introduction
A Slum refers to informal settlements within urban areas or cities. The informal
settlements depict inadequate housing and miserable condition with reference to
living standards (Meade p 43). In the slums, numerous individuals seek housing
facilities within small living spaces. The slums also lack basic local authority
services such as sanitation, collection of waste, water, drainage systems, street
lighting, and emergency roads. Most slums also lack schools, hospital, and public
places that might offer adequate environment for social amenities. The experience of
France illustrates the essence of slums within the modern society (Oberti p 58).
Crime and unemployment are on the rise within the slums because of the poor ...

Relocation of the residents expresses elements of high economic and social costs with
reference to disruptions. The main beneficial aspect of slum upgrading is that the
citizens enjoy fundamental right to live under decent conditions. Slums upgrading
enables the city to address crucial challenges such as legality and social protection.
The act is also essential in encouraging the development of the economy. This is in
relation to minimization of the unemployment elements within the urban areas.
Upgrading of the slums is also noteworthy in relation to the achievement of quality
life. Slum upgrading also aims at reducing the level of criminal activities and
unemployment from the economy. The governments need to restructure and change
social paradigms in order to maximize the outcome of slum upgrading.
Conclusion
Slums are hindrance to the achievement of economic growth and development. It is
the duty of the government to plan effectively towards the achievement of quality life
within the cities. Slums contribute towards the presence of criminal activities within
the cities and unemployment hence a significant force towards the overall economic
development. Upgrading of slums is vital in the process of offering economic, social,
institutional, and cultural services to the city dwellers like other citizens.

The Man Of The Modern Conservatism
Burke, the father of the modern conservatism, is well known for his criticism, or
contempt of the French Revolution; assuming so, it is not hard to doubt that he in
fact sympathized with the American cause. If he is the true father of the
conservatism, then the reader may be surprised to hear that he sided with the
colonists; however, his decision makes a sense if we acknowledge that Burke
regarded the American Revolutionas a revolution that is not too far apart from that of
the Glorious Revolution, unlike the French Revolution. Paine would argue otherwise
by using the Universalist language that the French would used; however, in the eyes
of Burke, the colonists are the true Englishmen, who are asking for returns that are
entirely rational, and perhaps historical to the English culture of pursuing liberty.
French, in the other hand, did not have any concrete foundations for their pursuit of
liberty. The rule by the mass under equal findings were never heard of nor realized,
which makes Burke to beg the question of feasibility. In short, Burke, who finds the
justifications from the traditions as a conservative, fully acknowledges that the
American colonists are articulating their needs of self governance and liberty within
reason and within reach; in contrast, Burke despises the French Revolution, since it is
to dispose the traditions and the societal mechanisms that France developed over
time, through complete overturn of the society and denial of the past. Turning to

Earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck Nepal. Followed by another earthquake
reaching 7.3 magnitude. Over 800,000 homes across Nepal through cities and
villages have been destroyed. With a count of 9,000 deaths and 22,000 injured
people. Currently, not one single home has been restored through Nepal, although
it has been one year since the earthquake. The Nepalese people reside under tarps,
slates of metal, and whatever materials they can find to construct a place to sleep
under. Which has made a large impact on the health and well being of the Nepalese
people who do not have a place to live anymore. Water and food has become a
major crisis for the Nepalese people. Some organizations and corporations have
given food, water, and aid relief to the Nepalese people, yet, they still seem to be
living in the conditions of the earthquake aftermath. Nothing has changed since. The
central issues is within the political organization of the Nepalese Government. They
do not have a solid foundation for their government and also it is filled with corrupt
politicians, it has put Nepal on the back burner of being able to recover from the

Similarities Between Machiavelli And Hobbes
Machiavelli on Human Nature
Niccolo Machiavelli and Thomas Hobbes were two modern political theorists who
presented new ideas about political organization in the 16th and 17th century. While
Machiavelli focused his written works on ideas related to effective governance,
Hobbes attempts to explain the necessity of establishing a ruler to maintain peace and
stability. Although Niccolo Machiavelli and Thomas Hobbesfocused on different
aspects of political theory, both thinkers addressed the concept of human nature in
their written works. Their ideas are reliant on the assumption that all humans have an
inherently bad nature. Although the two political theorists agree that humans are
inherently inclined to prioritize their self interests, ... Show more content on

Here, he suggests that humans have a tendency to take action whenever they think it
will result in a personal gain or help them get closer to achieving another self interest.
Both Machiavelli and Hobbes believe that humans tend to take actions that they
believe will benefit themselves in some way.
Although Machiavelli and Hobbes agree on the basic motivation of human nature,
their understandings of human nature conflict when considering the consistency of
these qualities in a variety of situations. Niccolo Machiavelli would argue that
humans consistently act out in selfish and immoral ways. In order to support this
idea, Machiavelli uses history to demonstrate patterns in human behavior, actions, and
motivations. For instance, in The Prince, Machiavelli uses the example of Cesare
Borgia and other historical rulers to show that human behavior is consistent and that
even virtuous leaders have had to take self interested actions to control their citizens.
To Machiavelli, all humans are born with this self interest.
On the other hand, in The Essential Leviathan, Hobbes suggests that human nature is
variable based on different situation. Although it may seem that Hobbes has an
entirely negative perception of human nature, the 17th century writer also argues that
humans may not have an inherently bad nature, but that it is
The Wiz Play Analysis
In December, I watched the televised play of The Wiz, that aired on NBC. While I
have mixed emotions about this play, itself, I have a better appreciation and
understanding about how a play should be presented now that I have researched the
history of american musical theatre, and that is unity of the story being told, thru
song, dance, and performance.
American Musical Theatre is a form of art that tells a story through songs, dialogue,
acting and dance. The different types of musicals includes ballad opera, operetta,
musical comedy, straight musical, rock musical, vaudeville, and burlesque.
Opera is a type of drama that was entirely sung. Madame Butterfly is an example of
an opera. An Operetta, like an opera also incorporates frivolous ... Show more content

elements together, separating the musical from the musical comedy. The two major
branches of the american musical theatre are the musical play and musical comedy.
Rodgers and Hammerstein, creators of Oklahoma, became the most important
contributors to the musical play form. They produced more plays that had social
thought that led the way for others to follow. Rodgers and Hammerstein recognized
the struggle in America and elsewhere for minorities civil rights had grown, they and
many other creators used the musicals to try and normalize social toleration and
urged racial harmony with works like Finian s Rainbow and South Pacific. As a
theme, tolerance, has continued to be an important aspect for

Tomlinson uses parallelism when he says, Let s not slam the door on those who

persuasive technique Tomlinson relies most on is pathos. He also uses ethos. He
uses pathos when he says, She looked at the flyer and replied, that s too much

in me. You taught me to listen to others, and treat everyone with respect. This shows

Network Switching and Routing Essays
Switching Routing
The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of switching and routing
used in a network environment and familiarize the reader with various hardware and
software associated with there functions. This paper will look at some switching
concepts that will include store and forward switching, cut through switching,
fragment free switching, and V Lan. This paper will also cover routing concepts,
along with some comparisons including routed vs. routing protocols, Classful vs.
classless protocols, and distance vector vs. link state protocols.

There are hybrid switches available today that combine both store and forward and
cut through switching methods. These hybrids are known as runtless or fragment
free switches. Fragment free switches were designed to solve the late collision
problem and are primarily used in the backbone of congested networks. These hybrids
check both the source and destination MAC address of a packet then make the
appropriate switching to send the packet to its corresponding destination (Javvin
Technologies,Inc., 2008).
VLANs
VLANs or Virtual Local Area Networks are logical local area networks that extend
beyond the traditional LAN architecture. Because a VLAN is a logical entity,
creating and configuring a VLAN is done completely in software. The advantages
to using this type of LAN include but are not limited to the ability to conserve the
network resources, to bridge geographical drawbacks, and to better manage the
movement of personnel and equipment. To understand the need for VLANs you
must first understand the Local Area Network (LAN). The definition of a LAN
started as a group of computers that were connected in the same area, but today s
LAN is defined as a single broadcast domain. This is explained easily by looking at a
large organization where each department would be on a separate LAN found behind
a router or switch. With today s expanding networks it has become important for these
Magnetic Resonance Imaging For The Diagnosis Of
Chordoma
Magnetic Resonance Imaging for the Diagnosis of Chordoma Chordoma is a type
of malignant tumor that can form at the base of the skull, within the spine and
sacral area. This kind of cancer is rare, accounting for 1 4% of bone cancers
overall. According to studies by the Surveillanc, Epidemiology, and End Results
database, the incidence rate of this disease is 0.08 per 100,000 and is more
prevalent in men between the ages of 50 60 (Walcott et al, 69). The characteristics
of chordoma were first described by Virchow in 1857. He termed them as
physaliferous, or having intracellular, bubble like vacuoles (Walcott et al, 69), which
became this disease s most distinguishing trait. Chordoma is thought to develop from

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) one of the primary imaging modalities used
to evaluate and diagnose chordoma. While MRI is done in conjunction with other
modalities like computed tomography (CT) to obtain data, studies have shown that
there are advantages to MRI not seen in CT. One of them is using diffusion
weighted MRI to assess and differentiate chordoma from other cranial tumors that
have overlapping presentations and anatomic imaging features such as
chondrosarcoma (Yeom et al, 1056). Diffusion weighted MRI uses the motion of
particles in fluid within voxels to measure cellular density and the nuclear to
cytoplasmic ratio. In a study, Dr. Kristen Yeom and colleagues examined patients
with the following parameters: TR/TE, 8300/70 ms at 1.5T and 10,000/80 ms at
3T, b=1000 s/mm2, three directions, 4 to 5 mm thickness, 0 skip (Yeom et al,
1059). They looked at the data for Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC), which
differed for the types of tumors; low ADC signifies abnormal diffusion restriction.
The results yielded that classic chordoma had lower ADC values averaging 1460x10
6 mm2/s than chondrosarcoma s 1977x10 6 mm2/s. Although researchers would be
unlikely to distinguish chordoma and chondrosarcoma on the basis of signal
intensity characteristics of T1 and T2 images, there are still uses for them (Oot el al,
568). In MRI scanning, T1 and T2 weighted images provide different

Tyler uses violence as a tool for control frequently, specifically in Project Mayhem.
In Project Mayhem, the members, referred to as spacemonkeys, feel violence is
necessary in achieving their goals of anarchy. The actions begin with simple
destructive attacks on specific individuals or things. For example, whenever an
authority stands between the spacemonkeys and their missions, they simply castrate
the opposition. In another example, spacemonkeys threaten to murder an
individual at gunpoint if they do not pursue their true aspirations in life. However,
small petty acts of violence escalade into much more violent, terrorist like attacks.
In fact, Tyler wants to literally destroy every by product of the consumer culture;
he states, We wanted to blast the world free of history. You ll hunt elk through the
damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center, and dig clams next to
the skeleton of the Space Needle leaning at a forty five degree angle (116). These
visions become realities; the novel culminates in Project Mayhem attempting,
although unsuccessfully, to explode world s tallest building. Both the Narrator and
Tyler use violence as a form of escape. Beginning with the Narrator casually stating,

Planning Of Land Usage And Conservation Of Energy Essay
STATEMENT OF THESIS INTENT
My research intent would be Building sustainability in the countries that are not well
developed by the planning of land usage and conservation of energy. It is an
intelligent scientific design, where it is the advancement of the current generation
needs without hampering the future generation needs. The environmental and
economic problems in our planet are mostly contributed by the construction industry
and urbanization. We must take the challenge and create eco design, sustainability
and construction practices to diminish the energy consumption. We must use the right
materials, construction techniques, building elements and energy focused concepts.
Often countries which have good monetary benefits find it easier to adopt sustainable
methods as the methods are economically very high. Developing countries like India,
often find it hard to adopt these methods and hence their primary choice would point
to an economically sustainable solution.

The Battle Of Tippecanoe By William Henry Harrison
The Battle of Tippecanoe was one of the major steps towards the War of 1812. It
took place on November 8, 1811, in a clearing near Prophet s Town. It was also
perhaps one of the most controversial battles in the War of 1812. Although a peace
treaty had been made one day prior before the Battle of Tippecanoe, the Native
Americans attacked, which caused the American soldiers to fight back, who were led
by General William Henry Harrison. The Native Americans had been led by Tecumseh
, a Shawnee Indian Chief. The Battle of Tippecanoe was a controversial battle which
the Natives Americans started, and ultimately, lost.
Tecumseh was a Shawnee Indian chief who had been born around 1768 near
Springfield, Ohio. During the early 1800s, he started to oppose the United States, and
attempted to create a confederation of Indian Tribes to rebel against the United
States. One of the main reasons Tecumseh opposed the United States was the fact
that white people were squatting on Native American land, and was forcing his
people out. Although Tecumseh opposed whites, he knew how to speak their
language. Tecumseh was described as a six foot tall man with fine features. He had
been rumored to be fluent in English, and most surprisingly, also in French. He also
managed to turn his brother s religious teachings into political movements in order to
get his fellow Native Americans to support his movement. [Collins, pg 36 40]
Tecumseh s brother, the Prophet, was not nearly as famous.

The Revolutionary War was the reason why we are a country today. It was an 8
year battle and a hard fight but we came out victorious. A lot of thanks can go to
Nathanael Green who served as a major general for the entire Revolutionary War.
This is because he had won many battles, he led the war in the south and he was one
of the most trusted generals in the Revolutionary War. Nathanael Greene had won
three battle which had raised the morale for the Continental army. The three battles he
had won were the battles of Trenton, German town and Brandywine. He had won
these battles because he would make small sudden attacks on the British which would
weaken their defenses. In 1780 General George Washingtongave Nathanael the orders

His men trusted him which caused them to fight well because they wanted General
Greene to be successful. General Greene was important to the Revolutionary War
because he led the Continental army in many battles, he led the campaign in the

Revolutionary war was one of the most important wars in U.S. history and Nathanael
Greene was a big part of it.

My Son, My Executioner Essay
My Son, My Executioner
In the Donald Hall poem, My Son, My Executioner, Hall depicted a father who has
grown old, holding their young child in their arms. Hall portrayed strong imagery
of a fatherly figure giving up everything to care for his young child. The tone of the
poem is both happy and dark. Hall s theme showed that once a person has a child, the
parent s life is completely changed. My Son, My Executioner is a very well written
poem with a deep, true meaning that readers could relate to. The imagery helps Hall
depict a father caring for their young child. Hall is first telling the reader that the
father is with his child. The child seems to be very young because the father takes
the child in his arms. I take you in my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This poem could either be taken in a happy tone or a dark tone. The main theme
Hall is trying to express is that once a person has a child, their lives are changed
forever. In the first line, My son, my executioner, is saying that once a child comes
into the world, in a sense the parent s life is taken away. Yet as morbid as that
sounds, the parent s life is made eternal through their child forever. The father
knows his time is now focused on his son. There is a reversal of roles, as the child
gets bigger and stronger, the father gets weaker and will die. Sweet death, small
son, our instrument/of immortality. Another problem was that the parents had their
child young. That day the child was born, their lives were changed and it will
never be the same again. We twenty five and twenty two. In conclusion, Donald
Hall portrays a father who has grown old, holding their young child in their arms. .
The way Hall used imagery, showed the reader a fatherly figure that gives up
everything to care for his son. The tone of the poem was important because it let
the reader know that the poem could be seen as happy or dark. The theme showed
the readers that once they have a child, their lives are changed forever. My Son, My
Executioner is a very well written poem with a deep, true meaning that readers, along
with parents, could relate
Proper Wear of Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime...
The original intent behind the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime Service
(SSI FWTS), more commonly referred to as a Combat Patch, was to show
appreciation for an individual soldier s support in combat operations. It was also,
originally, applicable only to soldiers who were assigned or serving with larger
deployed echelons such as brigades, divisions, corps, Army commands or higher.
The Army Regulation (AR) covering the Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms
and Insignia is 670 1. In Paragraph 28, sub section 17, the guidelines for the combat
patch are specifically detailed and outlined. The general guidelines for wear of the
combat patch are: 1. Wear is reserved for individuals who were members of United
States... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This policy change is effective immediately and is not retroactive. In addition, the
policy change and guidance is applicable to Soldiers of all components that deploy
during periods of service designated for wear of the SSI FWTS, in accordance with
AR 670 1, Paragraph 28 17. Originally, for a Soldier to be authorized to wear a
combat patch , the regulation required a minimum of thirty days in the specified
combat zone before approval of a combat patch could be authorized for wear.
Under the new guidance, this also has changed and states that there is now no time
in theater requirement to be authorized to wear the SSI FWTS. When a Soldier is
initially assigned or re assigned to a new unit, they are authorized and required to
wear the patch specific to that command on their left sleeve. Under the new
guidance, when a Soldier is deployed to a designated combat zone, those Soldiers are
now authorized to wear the company level or higher patch that they serve with on
their right sleeves. One of the most prevalent changes is that the authorization of a
combat patch is no longer dictated by the Unit s Headquarters element deploying. It
also no longer matters how many times the Units alignment or Operational Control
(OPCON) changes during the deployment. When an element below Company level
deploy, the Soldiers assigned to that element are now mandated to wear the
Epiphany In Cathedral
Disrupting Ordinary In John Updike s A P and Raymond Carver s Cathedral, both
protagonists undergo an epiphany. At the beginning of each the story, Sammy and
Bub have very similar personality characteristics. As each story unfolds, each narrator
meets an unusual character. At first they judge this character poorly. At the end of
each story, Sammy and Bub undergo an epiphany caused by the unusual character.
Both narrators have similar revelations. The way Carver tells the story, Bub
undergoes a stronger epiphany than Sammy. At the beginning of each story, Sammy
and Bub have very similar personality characteristics. They are both closed minded.
The setting of both stories contributes to the limited view of the world of both
narrators. In Cathedral,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both realize that there is more to the world than they know. They are ready to
experience change. Bub changed more than Sammy. The reason for this
assumption is how both authors end their story. In A P, Sammy has a realization
when he walks about of the A P. Firstly, I look around for my girls, but they re
gone, of course. This quotation shows that although Sammy has an epiphany he
realizes that life is difficult and not what he expected. Also, when Sammy looks
back at Lengel inside the store, His face was dark gray and his back stiff, as if he
djust had an injection of iron, and my stomach kind of fell as I felt how hard the
world was going to be to me hereafter. This quotation shows that Sammy is not
prepared for the harsh world ahead of him. Updike choses to end the story showing
that although Sammy underwent an epiphany, life is not as great as he expected.
Carver however, chooses to end the story at the peak of Bubs epiphany. By ending
the story this way it gives the impression that Bub has changed more
The Pros And Cons Of The WWII
Even though the United States emerged as a clear victor of World War I, many
Americans after the war felt that their involvement in the conflict had been a mistake
(Markus Schoof, The American Experience During World War II, slide 3). This
belief, however, did not deter the country from engaging in many other international
affairs in the future, most importantly the WWII and the Cold War. Right from the
Manifest Destiny, which led to expand its empire at home and abroad, to the World
War I, the country had come a long way from being somewhat a lonely land to a
global superpower of the 20th century. Its influence in the international arena grew
unprecedently after its commitment to the World War II, and like they say, the rest is
history. If the WWII was a resounding success to the American legacy, what followed,
the Cold War, put many implications on the American diplomatic relations with the
Soviet Unionand to the world. Although the rising Fascism in Europe and the
Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor drove the U.S. to enter the WWII, historians over
the years have laid equal blames on both nations for starting the Cold War. These two
events helped in shaping up many domestic and foreign policies for the U.S.
It is interesting how the U.S. decided to fight world war for the second time despite
many oppositions. As mentioned above, the U.S. collusion in the World War I
brought mixed reactions among the citizens about the wars in general. On the other
hand, the country was
Lake Pollution Issues
The issue regarding the Lake of the Ozarks is one that has been floating around for
some time. The water quality has gone down the drain in recent years due to
numerous factors such as leaking sewage and trash pollution. This issue is an
environmental concern because it makes the escherichia coli (e. coli) levels in the
water go up, which can lead to illnesses and deaths of people and animals across the
area. There was said to have been as much as 15,000 gallons of sewage that led
directly into the Lake of the Ozarks(DNR). This is obviously a problem because it is
affecting the health of everyone and everything; however, people are asking why it
may matter.
Many people care about their lake. It s where they can go to swim and hang out
with friends. Residents care about the pollution issue that is going on because
more and more people are deciding to live by the lake full time which increases
lake pollution. Another aspect that is being affected with the pollution are the
animals in the water. The e. coli levels in the area are shifting because of the
pollution issues. When the sewage is released into the lake it most definitely does
not help with keeping the lake clean. As more pollution problems come up, they
need to be fixed by the public living there. The residents surrounding the lake need
to pay more attention of what is being thrown into the lake and the status of their
sewage tanks to insure they are not leaking or damaged. If those tasks are fixed little

Medical Model Of Service Delivery
The three models of service delivery are as follows the Medical Model, Public
Health Model and the Human Service Model. The Medical Model is the oldest of
the three models, historically it started with the shamans, medicine men and mid
wives. The medical model views the persons coming for help as patients, sick or
with a disease. Its central focus is the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and cure of
the illness of that disease. (Woodside McClam, 2015, pg. 103). The medical model
was particularly used in the treatment and care of the mentally ill who were often
caged and treated like animals. During the time of the French Revolution a Dr.
Philippe Pinel campaigned for the rights of the mentally ill, to be treated as patients
needing care instead
Personal Health Personal Statement
In November 2015, my world was changed because my daughter was born. As a
new mom, I had a hard time getting through baby blues due to sleep deprivation,
breast engorgement, worrying about insufficient breastmilk and being a good
mom. I felt isolated and lack of social support since I was the first one being a mom
among my friends, as a racial minority in the U.S. and an international student. At
the one month checkup, I did a survey from the pediatrician about postpartum
depression, and I got 7 points out of 10. I decided to go out and looked for new
mom groups and talked to them; I realized that I was not alone. The experience
inspired me to find solutions to benefit new moms and this community and to explore

I worked as a user experience/ web designer intern for Illumina, a biotech company
based in San Francisco Bay area. My daily work included user interview, finding
the right problems, created a scenario, designed wireframes and flow, and
developed prototypes rapidly. As a designer, I have to make decisions every day,
with a reason. The rationale behind each design decision either comes from the
interview data/ field notes while observing or from the design and behavior theories.
I also did usability testing with users and based on the result; I modified the design,
and finally, I developed a new intranet system in 3 months. Last month, I received an
email from my supervisor at Illumina and was glad to know they are still using the
website that I designed.
Alongside the growing interest in HCI, I am more concerned about the wellness of
people, particularly after becoming a mother. I care about the health of my family and
other families like us, and the community. I was particularly interested in human
/ computer interaction in the context of personal health, exploring how technology
can support the upper stream of health behaviors, including self reflective methods.
Also, I was keen on understanding user behavior, and learning how users interact with

Moral Economic System
Introduction
Creating a moral economic system should be the ultimate goal of every society. A
moral economy is one that is founded on the principles of justice, fairness and
goodness. A moral economic system ensures equitable allocation of resources which
are scarce in nature and configures markets to ensure that they run fairy. The end
results are to realize a stable economy that is free from exploitation, political
insecurity and wars. A moral economic systemfosters peace and satisfaction among
the citizens of a nation (SEA, Browne, Milgram, 2009). It also creates a level ground
for fair competition among various economic drivers reducing negative rivalry that is
retrogressive to economic development and welfare hence the general improvement
of the gross domestic product. A good GDP creates a good environment to run
economic activities which leads to the increment government revenues and
improvement of the infrastructure.
Free market and Capitalism
In a free market, the market is left under the control of demand and supply.
However, this can be taken advantage of by the capitalists who are out to leap the
best from the economy. The profit maximization that prevails in a free market is a
threat to the move towards a moral economic system (SEA, Browne, Milgram,
2009). This is because capitalist have always found immoral ways of interfering
with the market forces of demand and supplies. For example, hoarding of goods have
been a common practice in free markets creating

Edward Burleson sent Erastus Deaf Smith and his unit of scouts to be on the
lookout for the return of Col Ugartechea. At approximately 10:00AM on the
morning of November 26, 1835 Death Smith galloped in to camp with news that he
had spotted the caravan five miles to the southwest of San Antonio (Barr, 1990).
More precisely traveling northward on the old Presidio Road (Harding, 1994).
There is a historical discrepancy as to the size of the caravan. Author Stuart Reid
(2007) stated that Smith reported that had identified as many as 500 soldiers (p. 50).
In contrast, on a letter sent from Col. Burleson to Government (1835) stated that a
convoy of about one hundred fifty men were approaching Town .
Given the length of the siege, its inactivity and the information provided by the
Mexican soldiers who deserted earlier, Col. Burleson and the rest of the command
jumped to the conclusion that this must be Col. Ugartechea and his man returning
from Laredo. This news spread like a wild fire and rumors that the mules were

Analysis Of The Book Kazuo Ishiguro
Kazuo Ishiguro, although still alive, has already changed the face of the field of
literature. He has done this through the variant style with which he writes and the
way that his Japanese background influences his writing (Sim). He has a unique
writing style that is seldom mirrored in the works of other writers in the same genre
(Brownstein). Many critics note that he is always producing different books that
have such diverse plots which proves that the most exciting thing about his work is
just this refusal to stand still as a writer, this desire to push the envelope (Sim).
Kazuo Ishigurois a writer who, like many, enjoys exploring a certain topic or
emotion, and he especially liked writingabout how regrets and memories affect
people throughout life (Taylor). His utilization of memories and regrets helps him
make deep meaningful characters who allow people to sympathize with their causes
(Taylor). Kazuo Ishiguro s most important contribution to literature is the variety he
adds to his field by incorporating his Japanese heritage, his twist endings that
surprise readers, the emotions of memories and regret to allow for realistic
characters, and his diverse range of writing.
Kazuo Ishiguro is a British writer who specializes in contemporary fiction. Kazuo
Ishiguro has a vastly different background from other British writers in his field as
he was born November 8, 1954 in Nagasaki, Japan and then moved to England at the
age of five in 1960. He then went to
Plato and the Republic Essay
The Sun of Knowledge:
Platonic Epistemology as Discussed in The Republic
The history of philosophy can be viewed as the result of the work of an obscure
Athenian whose voluminous works, penetrating questions, novel ideas, and didactic
teachings have shaped the flow of nearly all philosophic thought. It has been said that
the influence of the ancient Greek philosopher named Plato has laid the foundation for
Western culture. Plato was born to an aristocratic family in Athens in 428/427 B.C. As
a young man, Plato studied poetry, but later under the tutelage of the famed Socrates,
turned to philosophy, who introduced him to the ethical importance of the pursuit of
wisdom. Plato was also influenced by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the purpose of this essay to give an analysis of Plato s theory of the cause of
knowledge in the idea of the good through his illustration of the sun and determine
how his theory relates to his question of justice.
The Forms
Plato in the Republic assumes the reader has an understanding of his doctrine of the
forms, thus an introduction to his doctrine is imperative before a discussion of his
illustration of the sun can begin. Plato was an idealist, meaning that ideas comprise
what is ultimately real in this world. This is antithetical to his student Aristotle who
held that material was ultimately real. The Renaissance painter Raphael illustrates
these two contrasting positions in his famous painting The School of Athens.
Raphael depicts Plato with his arm stretched out, pointing to the sky (implying that
ideas are real), and Aristotle with his hand spread, pointing down to the earth
(implying that material is real).
For Plato, ideas, or forms, are intelligible, distinct, eternal patterns of which the
objects on earth are mere reflections. Each object on earth has a corresponding
form. For example, there is a single form of a chair, and all other chairs (whether
three legged or four, metal or wood) are flawed copies of the ultimate, changeless
form of the chair. Plato is concerned with the nature of existence. What is the
substance of
Father Son Relationship In Last Of The Mohicans
The father son relationship in Last of the Mohicans is one of closeness. The fathers
and sons live together, hunt together, fight together. There is a physical closeness, not
just a emotional parent child connection. There is a respect between the son and the
father that is more like a man to man relationship instead of a man to boy relationship.
The father daughter relationship in Last of the Mohicans is somewhat stereotypical.
The father is the protector, the provider, the authority figure. The daughter is the
dependent one, feeling the need for the father to be there, to care for them. The
daughter role is not one of independence. However, because Munro is a military man,
it is revealed that his military duties are more important than

The Self Inventory On Managing Boundaries
Take the self inventory on managing boundaries in Chapter 9. What are your
concerns about managing boundaries with your clients? I feel like my major
concern is making sure I maintain boundaries. I know how to do this and what I
need to do but I also know that applying it to the field will be different. I do feel as
though my training will help me in dealing with these issues but I still worry. I
know that once I am out in the field there is a lot of grey areas not everything will
be black and white I just hope that I can always do what is best for my client. The
other concern I have is it is essential to consider the cultural context in deciding on
the appropriateness of bartering, accepting gifts, and helpers assuming multiple
roles with the clients (p.258) This concerns me because I know I would not feel
comfortable bartering, accepting gifts or having multiple roles with the clients. Yet
I understand that cultural plays a large role in client s lives so I a little terrified
that I will offend someone without meaning to. I know the best way to avoid this is
to learn all I can about my clients culture but I still have a concern for it. Though I
like to think that I won t have any issues concerning boundaries like the ones
mentioned in the text such as duel relationships, or attraction for or from the client, I
know that this can happen. I would love to say that these will not be an issue for me
but then who knows what the future holds. I would like to think that I

It was strange experience touching animals that were alive, they almost seemed

learned that animals have a tear shaped body to reduce resistance to ocean
movement. The Center also has a small exhibit that talks about the deep ocean.
The deep ocean, a common mystery, had very little exhibit information besides
interesting samples of animals that live in the deep ocean. The samples were very
small and colorless. In fact, the exhibit mentioned that these creatures lived under
very high pressure and darkness. There were various samples that demonstrated
the great amount of pressure the deep ocean has. Several students dropped
styrofoam cups and heads to the ocean and were received fully crushed and in
miniature form. However, what I found most interesting was the fact that as
pressure increases, buoyancy decreases. This was exhibited through an activity
they had which had a balloon in a water tank and as you manually increased the
pressure up to 20 psi, the balloon sinked to the bottom of the tank. What I found the
most interesting was a small part of the kelp center that had a breeding tank of Brine
shrimp. The shrimp were tiny specks and under a microscope were tiny, clear objects
that floated. The center had two sets of funnels side by side, one for adult shrimp and
one for hatching shrimp. They both were simultaneously working

Essay on The Definition of Dramaturgy
Dramaturgy is often referred to as being a very slippery and indefinable word;
though there are standard definitions available for us to find, we cannot seem to
comprehend these definitions without exceptions arising. For example, the online
Oxford English Dictionary defines dramaturgy as either being a dramatic
composition; the dramatic art or as dramatic or theatrical acting. However, words
such as composition can be highly vague, leaving itself open to broad interpretations
and debates via the scholars of dramaand theatrestudies. Similarly, we are left to
question what exactly the role of a dramaturg is, and whether they perform this role
alone or share it; as no one has actually established a clear definition of what... Show

relying on the words of those with authority and status. In the words of Enlightenment
philosopher Emmanuel Kant (1784), Enlightenment is man s emergence from his self
incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one s own understanding
without the guidance of another . As a result, dramaturgy acted under the banner of
the Enlightenment, freeing theatre from the limitations placed upon it by societies
which were entrenched in tradition.
At the forefront of the dramaturgy movement was the 18th century dramaturg,
Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Though the procedure of creating and analysing dramatic
compositions had been present in the world of theatre for many years prior to
Lessing s writings, it was indeed his own work, Hamburgische Dramaturgie, which
finally coined the term dramaturgy ; giving it worldwide recognition and opening it
up to scholarly discussion. Lessing wanted to use dramaturgy to reshape German
theatre. For example, Lessing concentrated on the establishment of a BГјrgerliches
Theatre , which would introduce a brand new genre of bourgeois tragedy to German
theatre (Barnett, 1987, p. 408). However, he also

Gertrude Stein Research Paper
Once there was a movement for women to grow and expand what they wanted to
do there were many poets and writers that wanted to write about the actions that
were occurring in that time period. Once poet was Gertrude Stein, in Food and
Objects, there is a feminist approach of seeming weak and unstable. Her use of
word choice with at first thinking that nothing is making sense about her writing,
along with her talking about domestic spaces and always looking outside. Her
having multiple pieces of work that is talking about looking out a window and
being not in the house shows the woman wants more than what she is used to. One
of her pieces is called A Brown, in this I believe that she is discussing the change
that is going on with women during the 20th century. She wrote, A brown which is
not liquid not more so is relaxed and yet there is a change, a news is pressing (Stein,
1914). I believe that she is talking about the changes that women are fighting for.
Another writing that was very popular in the 20th century was the Freewoman
Magazine, this was for the public to ponder on the profounder aspects of Feminism
and was considered open due to the risquГ© topics that were discussed, along with
the invitation of readers to respond to the journals that were written by the editors.
Motherhood was discussed in there points of view moral, mystic, and domestic. The
Freewoman thought differently than the woman from the 19th century. The
Freewoman s perspective is that mothers are
Who Is The Antagonist In The Help
The Help directed by Tate Taylor is a film about African American (colored) people
serving the white Americans (whites). Minny and Aibileen are mothers working as
maids to earn money for their families. Young American, Skeeter (Emma Stone) is a
writer and aspiring journalist wishing to write a book about The Helpin Jackson. She
writes a book about the helps perspective and wishes for equality and change. This
was sparked by her friends negative and discriminating attitude towards the maids.
According to the whites, the colored, carry different diseases than we do . This
resulted in many whites getting toilets specifically for the coloured. Aibileen, the
narrator of The Help , told her story to Skeeter with a brave but frightened attitude.

The film is focused on the survival and strength of the coloured, not about wealth
and happiness of the whites. Aibileen broken heartedly said They killed my son .
This shows the strength of one coloured woman. Preacher Green from the local
church said Courage isn t just about being brave, it s about overcoming fear and
daring to do what is right in your mind . Having the courage and bravery is what
Aibileen and 32 other maids were doing. They were unwelcomed in white houses
unless they are working, if they are working they do not get respected. Courage is
speaking up for what is right, in this case it is telling Skeeter their stories of being
a maid. I believe that courage is an important concept to have, as a girl of the white
and blue, teachers are always telling us, commanding us to stand out . Don t be like
the others, be yourself, is what they are informing us in my eyes. The Help is about
achieving what others can not achieve. Many events could of prevented the maids
from wanting to participate; shootings, abuse in the house and abuse from the white
public. Nevertheless, they stuck together and made a book about Jackson,
The Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program
Businesses in recent times are interested in being sustainable. They want to reduce
their impact on the environment, but still continue to operate and fulfill their
obligations to their stockholders by making a profit. Prior to the current trend of
environmental interest, certain industries had negatively affected the environment in
the course of doing normal business. As a result, governments have enacted laws that
limited the amount of pollution that a firm can release. One such law is the
Greenhouse GasReporting Program, which in a nutshell, stipulates mandatory
reporting of greenhouse gases released by certain firms. In regards to the program,
what is it, and what is its purpose? How does this program relate to accounting, and...

The data will be used to help create laws and policies that further protect the
environment against additional degradation. What are greenhouse gases, and why
does this program focus on them, instead of other pollutants? According to an article,
greenhouse gases absorb infrared radiation. This absorption of heat in the atmosphere
over time is responsible in the increase in the overall temperature of the planet, and
this is known as the greenhouse effect (Lallanilla, 2015). Basically, this program
focuses more on greenhouse gases and other air pollutants, because the effects
associated with the greenhouse effect will negatively affect the air quality and
atmosphere of the entire planet, not just in the United States. Overall, this program is
meant to get companies to be mindful of their environmental impact for the sake of
the planet, and to promote sustainability.
How exactly does this program relate to accounting? This program is meant to
promote sustainability and get firms to watch their environmental impact. In its June
of 2015 report, the AICPA cites the trend of sustainable operations and states that
CPAs are well positioned to offer expertise that organizations can use to implement,
track, and verify their sustainability efforts. (The State of, 2015). In order for a firm to
commit to sustainable operations, they must make changes in the way that
Protest Voice
Good morning/afternoon Mrs Hossy, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Stepan
and today i am going to talk to you about protest voices. Before we start, let me talk
to you about the role and significance of protest songs in western culture is to help
people feel that they are not alone in feeling a spirit of dissent against injustices,
whether governmental or a personal level. One of the most significant protest
songs in history is Bloody Sunday, written by band U2 and produced by Steve
Lillywhite. It was first recorded in 1982 and first released in 1983. The tragic event
that inspired U2 to write Bloody Sunday took place in 1972 when in the Northern
Irish british troops killed 13 unarmed civil rights protesters. Artist s purpose in
writing Bloody Sunday was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In the song the repetition technique was used three times. The first time it was used
in the first stanza where writer sang How long How long must we sing this song

perpetuating tired arguments and violence in the name of God. The second time
when writer used repetition technique, was in third stanza where signer says Sunday,
Bloody Sunday four times. He did this to position the readers that the Bloody sunday
was a bloody and horrible event. The last time when author used repetition technique
was in the eighth stanza when he wrote Wipe your tears away Repetition is used to
put the spotlight on the families suffering loss. this positions the readers to feel a
sympathy for the families. In the first two lines of second stanza writer uses imagery
technique. By signing Broken bottles under children s
A Critical Analysis Of Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
Shirley Jackson s short story The Lottery is set in a small village who relies deeply
on their crops. This story is about a sacrifice that takes place every year in which
the heads of households draw for their families in order to see who wins and saves
the town. The readers grow close to a character named Tessie who decides to speak
her mind when it s too late. In the end, the townsfolk realise that what comes
around goes around. Before the ceremony started, Tessie Hutchinson was almost
late. Instead of apologizing, she joked and acted as if it was nothing. This day is
one of the most important days of the year for the town folk, it should not be easily
forgotten. When she finally arrived the first thing she said was, Clean forgot what
day it was... and then I looked out the window and the kids was gone, and then I
remembered it was the twenty seventh and came a running, instead of formally
addressing the serious situation and apologizing, she gave an inadequate excuse.
Tessie was so late that people knew that her priorities aren t in the right places. By
the time she had gotten there, people started to think she wasn t going to show up
without notice, we can recall a few people saying, Bill, she made it after all. Tessie
had sentenced herself to her death before the ceremony could even start. Shortly after
Tessie arrived she talked with the surrounding people. If talking wasn t enough she
even joked with some of her neighbors saying, Wouldn t have me leave
History Of Haunted Trails Family Amusement Park
For decades, Haunted Trails Family Amusement Park remains as the main destination
for all family members throughout Chicago, thanks to its massive arrays entertaining
features. This is the place where families can have such warm and welcoming
celebrations like birthdays or other kinds of family gatherings. With special offers for
certain packages, Haunted Trails FamilyAmusement Parkalways entertains everyone,
at all ages.
The owner, J. Richard Oltmann is very much different, as compared to other
amusement park owners. Before it was launched in 1975, all the games that visitors
can find here at this moment, were evaluated thoroughly before they were launched
publicly. All of those games, which were his brainchild, were sold worldwide. One
The Foils in Hamlet Essay
Foils in Hamlet
A foil is a minor character that helps the audience better understand a major character.
A foil may exist as a comparison character, with similarities between the two, as well
as differences that bring to light an important contrast between the foil and the main
character. A foil may also just be someone for the main character to talk to, so we
can know and understand their thoughts and feelings. Foils help us understand the
obvious as well as the arcane. In the classic tragedy Hamlet, we see William
Shakespeare employ foils to illustrate both examples. They become important literary
tools that help the reader rationalize the concurrent theme of the play ... Show more

In the end, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are naively loyal to Hamlet, and this
becomes their downfall. They know that Hamlet has killed Polonius, and yet, they
take no precautions as they accompany Hamlet to England. Their trust in both
Claudius and Hamlet gets them killed. Hamlet s reveals his mistrust of his
schoolmates in a conversation with his mother, and refers to Rosencrantz and
Guildenstern as, ...my two school fellows, whom I will trust as adders fanged...
Hamlet s friendship with his third colleague from this group is much different
compared to that of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Horatio, also a classmate at
Wittenburg, does not appear initially to occupy the same social status as did the
former two. He addresses Hamlet and says, The same, my lord, and your poor servant
ever. So Horatio may be from a lower social economic class. Like Hamlet, he sees a
ghost, but is not sure that the ghost was the king, as he admits to only seeing the king
once before, another argument for Horatio s unfamiliarity with the royal family.
Horatio s most important role as a foil does not become evident until the end of the
play. His conversation with Hamlet just before the fatal duel with Laertes provides
us with an insight into Hamlet s state of mind. Horatio advises Hamlet to back down
if he does not like the circumstances, and Horatio will attest to Hamlet s
Sean Convey 7 Habits
The book that I read was The 7 habits of highly effective teens by Sean Convey, and
I can say it is one of the most powerful books that I have ever read. It gave me
another perspective on how I can pass through obstacles, build back broken
relationships, organize my life, and what are good and bad habits. Habits are a
settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up, they
are the things we do repeatedly. Some habits are good for example: Exercising and
planning ahead at other times they are bad example: Thinking negative, feeling
inferior, and blaming others. Throughout this book one word flowed through
connecting every advice, idea, and basically pieced the whole book together and the
word is paradigms (meaning... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way you might see anything is your point of view or your paradigms and what
you see is what you get. At first reading that in the book I did not acknowledge
what that one sentence meant what you see is what you get until I kept reading,
what the sentence means is once you view, maybe a person or see a circumstance
happen and you start to form your own opinion and now, how you will view that
certain thing and find evidence to support it that is what you will get. Such as
people putting others down calling them dumb or they will never be smart as their
older siblings, that person will start believing this find evidence and see themselves
dumb. Messed up paradigms gives limitations you do not know how much you are
missing. In that instance what you need is a paradigm shift that you suddenly see
things in a new way. Seeing objects from another point of view can make such a
tremendous difference in our attitude toward others, but the key in doing this is
changing your views, you have to want change in order to
Quality Content Translation a Fast Emerging Profession in...
Building Reputation Through Quality Content
Content translation, being a fast emerging profession in the digital world today, is a
career path that most linguists would be interested to take on. Who else won t be
enticed by its monetary and non monetary benefits and promising career growth that
can translate to a steady source of income and professional fulfillment? A lot of these
translation companies invest so much on their employees through different programs
that seek to reward them of their hardwork and dedication. Big companies, such as
ISO Translations, offer a variety of opportunities for its in house translators who
enjoy both personal and professional stability.
To benefit from such perks, we first look at how content translators ... Show more

Most translation companies have specific standards that translators need to adhere to.
Standardization helps define style, tone and terminologies that make up the quality of
content. Ensuring that workers subscribe to these standards will lead them to produce
consistent results that contribute to reputation. The authoring process directly aids in
establishing the backbone of quality for any content translator.
As it is vital in this business to produce exceptional outputs, maintaining a consistent
track record helps build up reputation. Often, the challenge translators have is keeping
results at a consistent level that guarantees longevity. If a translator has survived
more than ten years in the industry, and consistently maneuvering obstacles and
challenges that, in effect, produce top quality results, then he is surely up for more
years of lasting professional relations in the business. Clients will always favor
established and reputable translators.
Consequently, poor quality content may define a possible downgrade which could
hamper career growth and opportunity. How much work and effort a linguist put into
his job will, in turn, reflect the kind of quality he can produce. Poor content quality is
directly proportional to the kind of reputation he will get. It is seemingly impossible
for any translator to maintain a status quo in his job. With an increasing competition
and a diverse and thriving market, demand for content translation is seen to
A Serious Problem Of Testicular Cancer
A serious problem that exists among the Maori population in some areas of N.Z. is
testicular (teste) cancer. It affects young men from all backgrounds and there is little
research on what risk factors there are. The encyclopaedia Britannica online defines
teste cancer as a disease characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells within the
testis, the reproductive organ that produces sperm. Testicular cancerrepresents only 1
percent of all cancers in males, but it is the most common malignancy for men
between ages 15 and 35. 1 Whether or not teste cancer is the most serious health
problem among Maori arguable and additional health related problems should be
discussed. First of all, testicular cancer is one of the most crippling diseases creating
significant damage on patient and family. Additionally, the discrepancy between
Maori and Pakeha diagnosis of testicular cancer is a cause for concern. Contrariwise
a lack of knowledge on the difference between Maori and Pakeha psychology and the
way Psychologist/Psychiatrist deal with Maori patients. Finally, there is general
reluctance for Maori to seek mental healthwhich leads to difference between diagnosis
and treatment.
Firstly, the mental and physical anguish that surrounds testicular cancer is so
significant because it is the most common cancer affecting men between the ages of
15 and 39, but it is not limited to this age range. However, young men typically do
not get a lot of cancer, so overall testicular cancer is a
Mental Health Workplace Burnout Research
A workshop will be developed to focus on prevention burnout among mental health
workers by implementing mindfulness. Studies have found that mental health
workers have a high risk of developing burnout, which impacts the client s quality of
care (Green, et al., 2014). Burnout is a result of sustained time of stresscaused by high
caseloads, monthly productivity demands, policies, administrative responsibilities,
and low wages (Franco, 2015). The process of burnoutinvolves failure, wearing out,
exhaustion due to high demands on the workers resources, energy, and strengthens
(Franco, 2015). Symptoms of burnout are exhibited physically and behaviorally, such
as sleepiness, articulating negative attitudes and difficulty holding feelings

mindfulness daily and share their experiences such as changes in symptoms and
improved productivity. The workshop will be facilitated by this writer after
obtaining permission from the clinic administrators. The workshop will be held
biweekly after all staff meetings, and it will be available to all mental health workers

The History Of Star Wars
May 25, 1977, was the day a whole new world of sci fi movies made an appearance
the first movie of the beloved Star Wars franchise came out. This series of movies
required several components, like acting and music. Months of preparation and
production made Star Wars one of the greatest. Star Wars, just like in any movie,
needed actors that wouldn t just perform their best, but also work by themselves to
memorize lines. Each person had a part, and, whether big or small, each part was
important. Often, the actors talk about what they had to accomplish during the
movie making process. Mark Hamill explains in a BBC Interview that often he had
to imagine what was going on in the background, which was actually a blue screen
(YouTube). Along with knowing their lines, they also had to know how to act. For
example, in The Force Awakens, Rey is a girl who is adventurous and brave, which
means Daisy Ridley had to act out those qualities in the movie.... Show more content

There was also an audition of roles that the actors had to try out for. In the BBC
Interview with Mark Hamill, he also explained that he had to audition for the part of
Luke Skywalker. He started acting when he was 12, went to a performing arts school,
and his first feature film was Star Wars. To get into a movie series as big as Star Wars
was a big deal. During the production of the film, as shown in the ABC News
interview with Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, there were lots of people
contributing to making the movie as great as it can be
Southern Gothic Irony In Stown
Southern Gothic literature is a very dark type of story telling where people either
talk too much or talk too little. It includes elements like violence all the way to the
general southern setting. The way the Southern Gothic story is written is really how
an audience is gets engaged into reading the story. If someone is more into the
events going on during the Civil War, they will be more likely to want to read a
classic Southern Gothic. If someone is more into reading about current controversies
and how they were discussed in the south, they will want to read a contemporary
piece of Southern Gothic literature. The podcast, Stown, is clearly a Southern Gothic
but has not yet been proven of what type. In order to evaluate what type of literature
Stown is, looking into the different elements that the podcast possesses is very
important. Stown is a piece of contemporary Southern Gothic literature because of the
irony, social issues, and violence in it.
Irony is the first element that has changed its definition when being added into
contemporary Southern Gothic literature. In a classic piece, irony is written into
conversation and events. As it s mentioned in Stown and written in contemporary
pieces, irony is taken in account for other parts of the story. With the modern irony in
Stown for this type of literature isn t just in conversation but is also shown in actions
and character. For example, John is ironic when he mentions women in conversation
for certain topics. He loves
Analysis Of Cosi Fan Tutte
Avtaran Jain Cosi Fan Tutte Review Many have heard the saying that art does not
have a language barrier. However, there are times when the expression above fails to
hold true for a performance. It in during these times, that the unison of the audience
breaks, and a dichotomy forms. My recent experience with the play, Cosi Fan Tutte
was somewhat similar to the events described above. Although Cosi Fan Tutte
attempts to establish itself in the hearts of the crowd through its talented and
experienced cast, it ultimately fails due to its tediously repetitive song structure and
narrow intended audience. The adeptness and dexterity of an individual have always
been fundamental talents to look for when viewing a performance. These individuals
are the one that help the event advance to success. When it comes to the qualities
mentioned above, the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte definitely possess most. Because Cosi
Fan Tutte is a performance written by Mozart, it comes as no surprise that the level
of singingand acting required is highly demanding even for veterans in the industry.
Yet, despite all these hurdles, the cast of the performance is able to captivate and
delight the audience through its outstanding vocal finesse and entertaining
characterization. Ferrando, played by Carlos Feliciano and Guglielmo, played by
Eli Glick are the stars of the show, displaying their level of musical acumen through
songs such as Una bella serenata and E voi ridete which require a vocal
Significant Developments From The Welfare State
Identify and explain two significant developments resulting from the welfare state.
The NHS came around in July 5, 1948. The Health Minister Aneurin (also known as
Nye) Bevan purely nationalised the existing system across the UK. The
groundbreaking change was to make all services freely available to everyone. Half of
Scotland s landmass was already covered by a state funded health system serving the
entire community and directly run from Edinburgh. Additionally, the war years had
seen a state funded hospital building programme in Scotland on a scale unknown
in Europe. This was combined into the new NHS. Scotland also had its own
individual medical tradition, this is centred on its medical schools rather than
private practice. The legislation that empowered the UK to have the NHS is
National Health Service Act (1948), this despite opposition from doctors, who
maintained on the right to continue treating some patients privately. The NHS
ensured that Doctors, hospital, dentists, opticians, ambulances, midwives and
health visitors were available, free to everybody. This Reason why we have health
services is because it developments a view that health care was a right, not
something given unreliably by charity, also two party s agreement that the existing
services were in a mess and had to be sorted out, it stopped financial difficulties for
the voluntary hospitals and After the second world war it ensured the creation of an
emergency medical service as part of the war effort

It seems that some mammals may be more endangered in the wild after captivity as some orcas may be unable to survive in the wild after captivity as they may be too mentally and physically scared after the habitat they have lived their lives in as reported on the website UK.whales.org by cathy williamson They may also not beable to capture live fish again or beable to survive without human care as they have adapted to the captive enviroment. This information shows that after keeping orcas captive they would be more endangered living in the wild as they wouldnt know how to survive back in the

The informal settlements depict inadequate housing and miserable condition with reference to living standards (Meade p 43). • 4. The Man Of The Modern Conservatism Burke, the father of the modern conservatism, is well known for his criticism, or contempt of the French Revolution; assuming so, it is not hard to doubt that he in fact sympathized with the American cause. If he is the true father of the conservatism, then the reader may be surprised to hear that he sided with the colonists; however, his decision makes a sense if we acknowledge that Burke regarded the American Revolutionas a revolution that is not too far apart from that of the Glorious Revolution, unlike the French Revolution. Paine would argue otherwise by using the Universalist language that the French would used; however, in the eyes of Burke, the colonists are the true Englishmen, who are asking for returns that are entirely rational, and perhaps historical to the English culture of pursuing liberty. French, in the other hand, did not have any concrete foundations for their pursuit of liberty. The rule by the mass under equal findings were never heard of nor realized, which makes Burke to beg the question of feasibility. In short, Burke, who finds the justifications from the traditions as a conservative, fully acknowledges that the American colonists are articulating their needs of self governance and liberty within reason and within reach; in contrast, Burke despises the French Revolution, since it is to dispose the traditions and the societal mechanisms that France developed over time, through complete overturn of the society and denial of the past. • 7. Similarities Between Machiavelli And Hobbes Machiavelli on Human Nature Niccolo Machiavelli and Thomas Hobbes were two modern political theorists who presented new ideas about political organization in the 16th and 17th century. While Machiavelli focused his written works on ideas related to effective governance, Hobbes attempts to explain the necessity of establishing a ruler to maintain peace and stability. Although Niccolo Machiavelli and Thomas Hobbesfocused on different aspects of political theory, both thinkers addressed the concept of human nature in their written works. Their ideas are reliant on the assumption that all humans have an inherently bad nature. Here, he suggests that humans have a tendency to take action whenever they think it will result in a personal gain or help them get closer to achieving another self interest. Both Machiavelli and Hobbes believe that humans tend to take actions that they believe will benefit themselves in some way. Although Machiavelli and Hobbes agree on the basic motivation of human nature, their understandings of human nature conflict when considering the consistency of these qualities in a variety of situations. Niccolo Machiavelli would argue that humans consistently act out in selfish and immoral ways. In order to support this idea, Machiavelli uses history to demonstrate patterns in human behavior, actions, and motivations. For instance, in The Prince, Machiavelli uses the example of Cesare Borgia and other historical rulers to show that human behavior is consistent and that even virtuous leaders have had to take self interested actions to control their citizens. To Machiavelli, all humans are born with this self interest. On the other hand, in The Essential Leviathan, Hobbes suggests that human nature is variable based on different situation. Although it may seem that Hobbes has an entirely negative perception of human nature, the 17th century writer also argues that humans may not have an inherently bad nature, but that it is
  • 8. The Wiz Play Analysis In December, I watched the televised play of The Wiz, that aired on NBC. While I have mixed emotions about this play, itself, I have a better appreciation and understanding about how a play should be presented now that I have researched the history of american musical theatre, and that is unity of the story being told, thru song, dance, and performance. American Musical Theatre is a form of art that tells a story through songs, dialogue, acting and dance. The different types of musicals includes ballad opera, operetta, musical comedy, straight musical, rock musical, vaudeville, and burlesque. Opera is a type of drama that was entirely sung. • 9. Tomlinson s Use Of Rhetorical Devices In The Gettysburg... 1) Some commonalities in The Gettysburg Address, and this is that they both use figurative language and rhetorical devices. For example in The Gettysburg Address, Lincoln uses parallelism. He uses parallelism when he says, that government of the people, by the people, for the people. In the LT HOF Speech Tomlinson uses parallelism when he says, Let s not slam the door on those who may look or sound different from us. Rather, let s open it wide for those who believe in themselves, that anything is possible, and are willing to compete and take whatever risks necessary to work hard, to succeed When we open the door for others to compete, we fulfill the promise of one Nation under God with liberty and justice for all. He uses pathos when he says, She looked at the flyer and replied, that s too much money baby, I don t know if we can make that happen. A couple of months later mom called me into the room and said, Remember that Jay Novacek camp you wanted to go to? I said yes ma am. She continued, well I saved the money and you ll be able to go. He uses ethos when he says, who do you get your worth ethic from? It was my mom. I was motivated to work hard by watching her constantly confronting and conquering life s challenges. Seeing her get up early, go to work, come home late, work two jobs, making sure we were clothed and fed. That s what I saw, never a complaint. Mom, thank you for your love, honestly, strength, and belief in me. You taught me to listen to others, and treat everyone with respect. This shows that he used pathos
  • 10. Network Switching and Routing Essays Switching Routing The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of switching and routing used in a network environment and familiarize the reader with various hardware and software associated with there functions. This paper will look at some switching concepts that will include store and forward switching, cut through switching, fragment free switching, and V Lan. This paper will also cover routing concepts, along with some comparisons including routed vs. routing protocols, Classful vs. classless protocols, and distance vector vs. link state protocols. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are hybrid switches available today that combine both store and forward and cut through switching methods. These hybrids are known as runtless or fragment free switches. Fragment free switches were designed to solve the late collision problem and are primarily used in the backbone of congested networks. These hybrids check both the source and destination MAC address of a packet then make the appropriate switching to send the packet to its corresponding destination (Javvin Technologies,Inc., 2008). VLANs VLANs or Virtual Local Area Networks are logical local area networks that extend beyond the traditional LAN architecture. Because a VLAN is a logical entity, creating and configuring a VLAN is done completely in software. The advantages to using this type of LAN include but are not limited to the ability to conserve the network resources, to bridge geographical drawbacks, and to better manage the movement of personnel and equipment. To understand the need for VLANs you must first understand the Local Area Network (LAN). The definition of a LAN started as a group of computers that were connected in the same area, but today s LAN is defined as a single broadcast domain. This is explained easily by looking at a large organization where each department would be on a separate LAN found behind a router or switch. With today s expanding networks it has become important for these

Magnetic Resonance Imaging For The Diagnosis Of Chordoma Magnetic Resonance Imaging for the Diagnosis of Chordoma Chordoma is a type of malignant tumor that can form at the base of the skull, within the spine and sacral area. This kind of cancer is rare, accounting for 1 4% of bone cancers overall. According to studies by the Surveillanc, Epidemiology, and End Results database, the incidence rate of this disease is 0.08 per 100,000 and is more prevalent in men between the ages of 50 60 (Walcott et al, 69). The characteristics of chordoma were first described by Virchow in 1857. Diffusion weighted MRI uses the motion of particles in fluid within voxels to measure cellular density and the nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio. In a study, Dr. Kristen Yeom and colleagues examined patients with the following parameters: TR/TE, 8300/70 ms at 1.5T and 10,000/80 ms at 3T, b=1000 s/mm2, three directions, 4 to 5 mm thickness, 0 skip (Yeom et al, 1059). They looked at the data for Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC), which differed for the types of tumors; low ADC signifies abnormal diffusion restriction. The results yielded that classic chordoma had lower ADC values averaging 1460x10 6 mm2/s than chondrosarcoma s 1977x10 6 mm2/s. Although researchers would be unlikely to distinguish chordoma and chondrosarcoma on the basis of signal intensity characteristics of T1 and T2 images, there are still uses for them (Oot el al, 568). In MRI scanning, T1 and T2 weighted images provide different

Even in our daily lives, when encountered a conflict, we humans want to make it disappear as quick as possible. We do this by using violence unconsciously, whether it is verbally or physically. To the same effect, in his novel Fight Club, Palahniuk reveals violence to be an inescapable cycle. Tyler uses violence as a tool for control frequently, specifically in Project Mayhem. In Project Mayhem, the members, referred to as spacemonkeys, feel violence is necessary in achieving their goals of anarchy. The actions begin with simple destructive attacks on specific individuals or things. For example, whenever an authority stands between the spacemonkeys and their missions, they simply castrate the opposition. In another example, spacemonkeys threaten to murder an individual at gunpoint if they do not pursue their true aspirations in life. However, small petty acts of violence escalade into much more violent, terrorist like attacks. In fact, Tyler wants to literally destroy every by product of the consumer culture; he states, We wanted to blast the world free of history. You ll hunt elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center, and dig clams next to the skeleton of the Space Needle leaning at a forty five degree angle (116). These visions become realities; the novel culminates in Project Mayhem attempting, although unsuccessfully, to explode world s tallest building. Both the Narrator and Tyler use violence as a form of escape. Beginning with the Narrator casually stating, I just don t want to die without a few scars (49), and fight club evolves

Planning Of Land Usage And Conservation Of Energy Essay STATEMENT OF THESIS INTENT My research intent would be Building sustainability in the countries that are not well developed by the planning of land usage and conservation of energy. It is an intelligent scientific design, where it is the advancement of the current generation needs without hampering the future generation needs. The environmental and economic problems in our planet are mostly contributed by the construction industry and urbanization. We must take the challenge and create eco design, sustainability and construction practices to diminish the energy consumption. We must use the right materials, construction techniques, building elements and energy focused concepts. Often countries which have good monetary benefits find it easier to adopt sustainable methods as the methods are economically very high. Developing countries like India, often find it hard to adopt these methods and hence their primary choice would point to an economically sustainable solution. My love for this field began when I interned during my third year of B.Arch. summer holidays in Habitat Technology Group in India. In their buildings, the spaces and walls were made using a method called compressed stabilized rammed earth construction. The construction was cost effective and very energy conscious. Numerous sustainable strategies we could adopt like to have more cluster buildings to open zones and protect natural habitat. Parking area could be limited. Usage of waterless toilets fixtures low

Several popular studies have been cited to explore various topics such as an artist s style, name, the objects, colors and typography they choose to implement within their works and why.Typography and Color Chaos When examining paintings that depict colored typography, for example False Start by accomplished artist, Jasper John, there is an evident dissonance to the viewer. The type expresses the name of one color printed in the paint of another color, and to top it off, that very word is printed on a patch with a different color. Essentially, the entire painting is creating chaos with its meaning because the viewer isn t sure whether they approach the painting by reading the text, viewing the color of the text, or viewing the patch of color which the text is placed on. It took place on November 8, 1811, in a clearing near Prophet s Town. It was also perhaps one of the most controversial battles in the War of 1812. Although a peace treaty had been made one day prior before the Battle of Tippecanoe, the Native Americans attacked, which caused the American soldiers to fight back, who were led by General William Henry Harrison. The Native Americans had been led by Tecumseh , a Shawnee Indian Chief. The Battle of Tippecanoe was a controversial battle which the Natives Americans started, and ultimately, lost. Tecumseh was a Shawnee Indian chief who had been born around 1768 near Springfield, Ohio. During the early 1800s, he started to oppose the United States, and attempted to create a confederation of Indian Tribes to rebel against the United States. One of the main reasons Tecumseh opposed the United States was the fact that white people were squatting on Native American land, and was forcing his people out. Although Tecumseh opposed whites, he knew how to speak their language. Tecumseh was described as a six foot tall man with fine features. He had been rumored to be fluent in English, and most surprisingly, also in French. He also managed to turn his brother s religious teachings into political movements in order to get his fellow Native Americans to support his movement. [Collins, pg 36 40] Tecumseh s brother, the Prophet, was not nearly as famous.

This poem could either be taken in a happy tone or a dark tone. The main theme Hall is trying to express is that once a person has a child, their lives are changed forever. In the first line, My son, my executioner, is saying that once a child comes into the world, in a sense the parent s life is taken away. Yet as morbid as that sounds, the parent s life is made eternal through their child forever. The father knows his time is now focused on his son. There is a reversal of roles, as the child gets bigger and stronger, the father gets weaker and will die. Sweet death, small son, our instrument/of immortality. Another problem was that the parents had their child young. That day the child was born, their lives were changed and it will never be the same again. We twenty five and twenty two. In conclusion, Donald Hall portrays a father who has grown old, holding their young child in their arms. . The way Hall used imagery, showed the reader a fatherly figure that gives up everything to care for his son. The original intent behind the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime Service (SSI FWTS), more commonly referred to as a Combat Patch, was to show appreciation for an individual soldier s support in combat operations. One of the most prevalent changes is that the authorization of a combat patch is no longer dictated by the Unit s Headquarters element deploying. It also no longer matters how many times the Units alignment or Operational Control (OPCON) changes during the deployment. The Pros And Cons Of The WWII Even though the United States emerged as a clear victor of World War I, many Americans after the war felt that their involvement in the conflict had been a mistake (Markus Schoof, The American Experience During World War II, slide 3). This belief, however, did not deter the country from engaging in many other international affairs in the future, most importantly the WWII and the Cold War. Right from the Manifest Destiny, which led to expand its empire at home and abroad, to the World War I, the country had come a long way from being somewhat a lonely land to a global superpower of the 20th century. Its influence in the international arena grew unprecedently after its commitment to the World War II, and like they say, the rest is history. If the WWII was a resounding success to the American legacy, what followed, the Cold War, put many implications on the American diplomatic relations with the Soviet Unionand to the world. Although the rising Fascism in Europe and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor drove the U.S. to enter the WWII, historians over the years have laid equal blames on both nations for starting the Cold War. These two events helped in shaping up many domestic and foreign policies for the U.S. It is interesting how the U.S. decided to fight world war for the second time despite many oppositions. As mentioned above, the U.S. collusion in the World War I brought mixed reactions among the citizens about the wars in general. On the other hand, the country was

The water quality has gone down the drain in recent years due to numerous factors such as leaking sewage and trash pollution. This issue is an environmental concern because it makes the escherichia coli (e. coli) levels in the water go up, which can lead to illnesses and deaths of people and animals across the area. There was said to have been as much as 15,000 gallons of sewage that led directly into the Lake of the Ozarks(DNR). This is obviously a problem because it is affecting the health of everyone and everything; however, people are asking why it may matter. Many people care about their lake. It s where they can go to swim and hang out with friends. Residents care about the pollution issue that is going on because more and more people are deciding to live by the lake full time which increases lake pollution. Another aspect that is being affected with the pollution are the animals in the water. The e. coli levels in the area are shifting because of the pollution issues. When the sewage is released into the lake it most definitely does not help with keeping the lake clean. As more pollution problems come up, they need to be fixed by the public living there. The residents surrounding the lake need to pay more attention of what is being thrown into the lake and the status of their sewage tanks to insure they are not leaking or damaged. If those tasks are fixed little by little

He has done this through the variant style with which he writes and the way that his Japanese background influences his writing (Sim). He has a unique writing style that is seldom mirrored in the works of other writers in the same genre (Brownstein). Many critics note that he is always producing different books that have such diverse plots which proves that the most exciting thing about his work is just this refusal to stand still as a writer, this desire to push the envelope (Sim). Kazuo Ishigurois a writer who, like many, enjoys exploring a certain topic or emotion, and he especially liked writingabout how regrets and memories affect people throughout life (Taylor). His utilization of memories and regrets helps him make deep meaningful characters who allow people to sympathize with their causes (Taylor). Kazuo Ishiguro s most important contribution to literature is the variety he adds to his field by incorporating his Japanese heritage, his twist endings that surprise readers, the emotions of memories and regret to allow for realistic characters, and his diverse range of writing. Kazuo Ishiguro is a British writer who specializes in contemporary fiction. Plato and the Republic Essay The Sun of Knowledge: Platonic Epistemology as Discussed in The Republic The history of philosophy can be viewed as the result of the work of an obscure Athenian whose voluminous works, penetrating questions, novel ideas, and didactic teachings have shaped the flow of nearly all philosophic thought. It has been said that the influence of the ancient Greek philosopher named Plato has laid the foundation for Western culture. Plato was born to an aristocratic family in Athens in 428/427 B.C. As a young man, Plato studied poetry, but later under the tutelage of the famed Socrates, turned to philosophy, who introduced him to the ethical importance of the pursuit of wisdom. It is the purpose of this essay to give an analysis of Plato s theory of the cause of knowledge in the idea of the good through his illustration of the sun and determine how his theory relates to his question of justice. The Forms Plato in the Republic assumes the reader has an understanding of his doctrine of the forms, thus an introduction to his doctrine is imperative before a discussion of his illustration of the sun can begin. Plato was an idealist, meaning that ideas comprise what is ultimately real in this world. This is antithetical to his student Aristotle who held that material was ultimately real. The Renaissance painter Raphael illustrates these two contrasting positions in his famous painting The School of Athens. Raphael depicts Plato with his arm stretched out, pointing to the sky (implying that ideas are real), and Aristotle with his hand spread, pointing down to the earth (implying that material is real). For Plato, ideas, or forms, are intelligible, distinct, eternal patterns of which the objects on earth are mere reflections. Each object on earth has a corresponding form. For example, there is a single form of a chair, and all other chairs (whether three legged or four, metal or wood) are flawed copies of the ultimate, changeless form of the chair. Plato is concerned with the nature of existence. What is the substance of

The father daughter relationship in Last of the Mohicans is somewhat stereotypical. The father is the protector, the provider, the authority figure. I feel like my major concern is making sure I maintain boundaries. I know how to do this and what I need to do but I also know that applying it to the field will be different. I do feel as though my training will help me in dealing with these issues but I still worry. I know that once I am out in the field there is a lot of grey areas not everything will be black and white I just hope that I can always do what is best for my client. The other concern I have is it is essential to consider the cultural context in deciding on the appropriateness of bartering, accepting gifts, and helpers assuming multiple roles with the clients (p.258) This concerns me because I know I would not feel comfortable bartering, accepting gifts or having multiple roles with the clients. Yet I understand that cultural plays a large role in client s lives so I a little terrified that I will offend someone without meaning to. The deep ocean, a common mystery, had very little exhibit information besides interesting samples of animals that live in the deep ocean. The samples were very small and colorless. In fact, the exhibit mentioned that these creatures lived under very high pressure and darkness. There were various samples that demonstrated the great amount of pressure the deep ocean has. Several students dropped styrofoam cups and heads to the ocean and were received fully crushed and in miniature form. However, what I found most interesting was the fact that as pressure increases, buoyancy decreases. This was exhibited through an activity they had which had a balloon in a water tank and as you manually increased the pressure up to 20 psi, the balloon sinked to the bottom of the tank. What I found the most interesting was a small part of the kelp center that had a breeding tank of Brine shrimp. However, words such as composition can be highly vague, leaving itself open to broad interpretations and debates via the scholars of dramaand theatrestudies. It aimed at getting people to think for themselves, and for people to use their own creativity and ingenuity instead of merely relying on the words of those with authority and status. In the words of Enlightenment philosopher Emmanuel Kant (1784), Enlightenment is man s emergence from his self incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one s own understanding without the guidance of another . As a result, dramaturgy acted under the banner of the Enlightenment, freeing theatre from the limitations placed upon it by societies which were entrenched in tradition. At the forefront of the dramaturgy movement was the 18th century dramaturg, Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. Though the procedure of creating and analysing dramatic compositions had been present in the world of theatre for many years prior to Lessing s writings, it was indeed his own work, Hamburgische Dramaturgie, which finally coined the term dramaturgy ; giving it worldwide recognition and opening it up to scholarly discussion. Lessing wanted to use dramaturgy to reshape German theatre. For example, Lessing concentrated on the establishment of a BГјrgerliches Theatre , which would introduce a brand new genre of bourgeois tragedy to German theatre (Barnett, 1987, p. 408). • 55. Southern Gothic Irony In Stown Southern Gothic literature is a very dark type of story telling where people either talk too much or talk too little. It includes elements like violence all the way to the general southern setting. The way the Southern Gothic story is written is really how an audience is gets engaged into reading the story. If someone is more into the events going on during the Civil War, they will be more likely to want to read a classic Southern Gothic. If someone is more into reading about current controversies and how they were discussed in the south, they will want to read a contemporary piece of Southern Gothic literature. The podcast, Stown, is clearly a Southern Gothic but has not yet been proven of what type. In order to evaluate what type of literature Stown is, looking into the different elements that the podcast possesses is very important. Stown is a piece of contemporary Southern Gothic literature because of the irony, social issues, and violence in it. Irony is the first element that has changed its definition when being added into contemporary Southern Gothic literature. In a classic piece, irony is written into conversation and events. As it s mentioned in Stown and written in contemporary pieces, irony is taken in account for other parts of the story. With the modern irony in Stown for this type of literature isn t just in conversation but is also shown in actions and character. • 56. Analysis Of Cosi Fan Tutte Avtaran Jain Cosi Fan Tutte Review Many have heard the saying that art does not have a language barrier. However, there are times when the expression above fails to hold true for a performance. It in during these times, that the unison of the audience breaks, and a dichotomy forms. My recent experience with the play, Cosi Fan Tutte was somewhat similar to the events described above. Although Cosi Fan Tutte attempts to establish itself in the hearts of the crowd through its talented and experienced cast, it ultimately fails due to its tediously repetitive song structure and narrow intended audience. The adeptness and dexterity of an individual have always been fundamental talents to look for when viewing a performance. These individuals are the one that help the event advance to success. When it comes to the qualities mentioned above, the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte definitely possess most. Because Cosi Fan Tutte is a performance written by Mozart, it comes as no surprise that the level of singingand acting required is highly demanding even for veterans in the industry. Yet, despite all these hurdles, the cast of the performance is able to captivate and delight the audience through its outstanding vocal finesse and entertaining characterization. Ferrando, played by Carlos Feliciano and Guglielmo, played by Eli Glick are the stars of the show, displaying their level of musical acumen through songs such as Una bella serenata and E voi ridete which require a vocal
  • 57. Significant Developments From The Welfare State Identify and explain two significant developments resulting from the welfare state. The NHS came around in July 5, 1948. The Health Minister Aneurin (also known as Nye) Bevan purely nationalised the existing system across the UK. The groundbreaking change was to make all services freely available to everyone. Additionally, the war years had seen a state funded hospital building programme in Scotland on a scale unknown in Europe. This was combined into the new NHS. Scotland also had its own individual medical tradition, this is centred on its medical schools rather than private practice. The legislation that empowered the UK to have the NHS is National Health Service Act (1948), this despite opposition from doctors, who maintained on the right to continue treating some patients privately. The NHS ensured that Doctors, hospital, dentists, opticians, ambulances, midwives and health visitors were available, free to everybody. This Reason why we have health services is because it developments a view that health care was a right, not something given unreliably by charity, also two party s agreement that the existing services were in a mess and had to be sorted out, it stopped financial difficulties for the voluntary hospitals and After the second world war it ensured the creation of an emergency medical service as part of the war effort
