Comparative Essay Writing
Crafting a comparative essay can be both a challenging and intellectually rewarding task. The
complexity lies not only in comparing two or more subjects but in presenting a cohesive
argument that highlights their similarities and differences. This type of essay demands a keen
analytical mind and the ability to delve deep into the nuances of each subject under
consideration.
One of the primary difficulties in comparative essay writing is the necessity to strike a delicate
balance between the subjects being compared. It requires a nuanced approach to ensure that
neither subject overshadows the other, while still allowing for a comprehensive analysis.
Selecting relevant criteria for comparison, conducting thorough research, and organizing the
information in a logical manner are crucial steps that demand time and effort.
Another challenge is maintaining a clear and coherent structure throughout the essay. The writer
must establish a strong thesis statement and guide the reader through a well-organized body that
seamlessly transitions between the subjects. This task requires careful planning to avoid
confusion and to ensure that the essay flows smoothly from one point to the next.
Furthermore, the writer must possess a deep understanding of the subjects being compared. This
involves in-depth research and critical analysis to identify key similarities and differences. A
superficial examination can lead to a lackluster essay, while a profound exploration of the
subjects can elevate the piece to a higher academic standard.
Moreover, integrating credible sources and evidence to support the comparative analysis adds
another layer of complexity. Proper citation and referencing are essential to maintain academic
integrity and avoid plagiarism. This aspect demands attention to detail and a thorough
understanding of citation styles.
In conclusion, writing a comparative essay requires a combination of analytical skills, research
capabilities, and effective organization. It is not a task for the faint-hearted, as it demands a
deep dive into the subjects under consideration. However, the satisfaction derived from
successfully crafting a well-argued comparative essay can be immensely rewarding, showcasing
the writer's prowess in critical thinking and analysis.

Grammar Is Necessary In The Workplace
Do you think grammar is necessary inside the workplace and agree with firing
workers with poor grammar? Grammar is a very important life skill, and Kyle
Wiens progressed his company in firing those with poor grammar. He is a grammar
stickler whom has an extreme approach when it comes to grammar, zero tolerance,
firing those without proper grammar. Wiens claims everyone at one of his two
companies iFixit or Dozoki take a mandatory grammar test. Firstly, he conveys his
message that grammar is good credibility. For instance, he said Even in this hyper
competitive market, I will pass on a great programmer who cannot write. Both of his
companies are online instructions and manuals, but if you have online instructions

To Expand Health Care Coverage
(a.)Expansion of Public Health Insurance Programs
In order to decrease the amount of uninsured individuals one of the provisions of the
ACA centered on expanding public health insurance programs namely Medicaid and
Children s Health Insurance Program(CHIP). Medicaid was expanded to include
children, pregnant women, parents, and adults without dependent children up to
133% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Medicaid expansion was contested in court
challenging its constitutionality. The Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of

Third, insurers were required to cover dependents up to the age of 26 notwithstanding
group or individual coverage.
(d.)Individual Mandate
In the Pre ACA Era, individuals were not required to purchase insurance. Most
individuals were provided health benefits through their employer, but, a significant
proportion of the population remained uninsured. This lead to increased health care
costs overall and posed several challenges to insurers like adverse selection, moral
hazard and high risk pools. In the ACA Era, by authorizing the individual mandate
and setting up the insurance marketplace, individuals are pooled together with a
patient characteristic other than their health status. This leads to an assortment of
individuals in the insurance pool with a combination of high utilizers and low
utilizers of health care. Furthermore, the healthy individuals in the risk pool will help
offset the costs from sicker individuals. As a consequence of the individual mandate
the number of insured individuals will increase as all individuals are required to
have some form of insurance.

The employer requirements aspect of the Act helps assess the health care coverage

Literary Analysis Of After Apple-Picking By Robert Frost
From After Apple Picking by Robert Frost Lines 1 8
My long two pointed ladder s sticking through a tree
Toward heaven still,
And there s a barrel that I didn t fill
Beside it, and there may be two or three
Apples I didn t pick upon some bough.
But I am done with apple picking now.
Essence of winter sleep is on the night,
The scent of apples: I am drowsing off. In the selected lines from Robert Frost s After
Apple Picking, Frost creates the setting for the poem through time indicators, while
also relaying the idea that this is not simply a poem about only apple picking, but it
is metaphor about life and death where apple picking means collecting and life
experiences. Line one states My long two pointed ladder s sticking through ... Show

The barrel that is not filled represents the capacity to do things before an end of
some kind, and the space that could occupy the barrel is empty. In other words, the
empty barrel represents missed opportunity: in the case of apple picking, it could
be filled with apples, but is not at the end of the day. When this concept is related
the life itself, it means that ones life could be filled with memories or life
experiences, but at the end, they have not occurred. Then Frost tells us, Beside it,
and there may be two or three Apples I didn t pick upon some bough (4 5). With
these lines we get more information relating to the barrel that is not filled, which
says that there is apples to be picked to fill the barrel but the narrator does not pick
them. With the analogy relating the missed apple to missed life experiences, it can
be inferred that there are two or three life experiences that have or will be missed.
The word bough (5) literally means the main branch of a tree. The missed apples
while apple picking were not missed because they were on a small limb; they were
missed seemingly on purpose, because if they were on a small hidden limb it
would be understandable if they were missed on accident. This tells us that the
theoretical life experiences, represented as apples, were not small in nature but
large. This is a representation of Frost s feelings toward the ending of life before one
is done experiencing normal life steps.
Gender Double Standards For Children
Gender Double Standards for Children in Parenting
According to an analysis done by Seth Stephens Davidowitz, for every ten U.S.
google search requests about males being overweight, there are seventeen searches
about girls being overweight, but in reality, boys are nine percent more probable to
being overweight than girls (Gonchar). There are countless kinds of gender double
standards in society, including the standards parents hold their children to. It is no
secret that parents dream for their daughters to be attractive and their sons to be
athletic. How else do these standards become apparent in a child s upbringing? In an
investigative paper, The Gender Double Standards in Parenting Attitudes, Meeso
Caponi Ro, William G. Axinn, and Linda Young DeMarco state, We differentiate
dating, sex, and premarital cohabitation from marital and childbearing behavior to
investigate differences within the courtship and family formation domain. (Axinn).
There are different standards for boys and girls when it comes down to relationships
and sex as well. Parents tend to be more lenient when it comes to their boy s romantic
relationships and stricter with their daughters. A new study from Netmums reveals
that 88 per cent of mums admitted that they treated their sons and daughters
differently despite thinking that this was wrong. (The Gender). Parents don t want to
admit they treat their kids differently, because then issues of favoritism or unfair
treatment can occur, but by human
Service Gaps In Little Haiti
Service Gaps. One of the gaps in services and resources in Little Haiti identified is
in education. All of the public schools in Little Haiti have a grade of either C or D (
Miami Dade County Public Schools, n.d.). These schools with below average
achievement scores do not benefit the children attending who are coming from a
community that has a below average high schooldiploma rate. As the workforce
continues to become more competitive, college educationis going to begin to replace
high schooldiplomas as a prerequisite for the majority of jobs. If the public education
system does not begin to provide education that not only aids these youth in obtaining
high school diplomas but additionally supports their advancement through college,
than this community will not be able to move ahead with society. There is a high
concentration of Haitian Americans holding low skill, low wage jobs. Understanding
that Haiti is one of the poorest countries and that immigrants came to the United
States with no formal education, necessary steps need to be taken to ensure that each
generation has an opportunity to advance obtain this education and advance their
community a bit more (Sohmer, Jackson, Katz, Warren, 2005). There are a couple
ways this writer would begin to address this gap. First, the schools need to initiate or
strength their parent association programs. Parents should receive ongoing education
on student progress, areas needing improvement, and ways to best support

Celtic music is a broad group of music genres that have emerged from the native folk
music traditions of people of Western Europe, such as the Irish. Throughout history,
Ireland has been associated with music. Irish music history dates back over 2000
years when the Celts arrived in Ireland. Irish clerics are known for writing some of
the earliest folk songs. One of the twelve disciples of Ireland, St Columcille (521
5797 AD), described that the clerics of Ireland had the ability to sing like birds . Irish
music has remained vibrant in this 21st century having gained global recognition.

Before the 17th century, harpists were professional musicians and the use harps was
at its height. At the time, Ireland was ruled by Chieftains, who also employed the use
of harps in Irish songs. Irish tradition was steady and secure. However, at the
beginning of the seventeenth century, Ireland was invaded forced the Chieftains to
flee the country. The Irish music tradition suffered a massive blow as harp playing
was not considered as a profession anymore. The professional harpists became known
as travelling harpists. Decades after the Chieftains fled Ireland after the first invasion,
Ireland was colonized by the British. The British government introduced laws aimed
at crushing the Irish culture and introducing the British culture. There was a penal
law that forbade any cultural activities. These laws saw the significant suppression of
the growth of Irish culture.
In the 1840 s, Ireland suffered a great famine. This led to the death of more than
one million people, subsequently, most of the Irish tradition died with them. The
famine also saw a significant migration of people over the world in a desperate
measure to stay alive. This led to a devastating factor in the Irish traditional music.
However, a good dead came out of this emigration. When the Irish fled the famine
and settled elsewhere, they introduce the Irish music in that new place. The
traditional Irish music network grew especially in places like USA and Australia.

Maternal Mortality And Death Of A Pregnant Woman Essay
Introduction
Maternal mortality/death is defined as the death of a pregnant woman by causes
related to the pregnancy or its management, or death of a post partum mother within
42 days after pregnancy termination (Requejo, Bryce, Victora, Deixel, 2013;
Ronsmans, Graham, group, 2006; Say et al., 2014). There are proposals to change
this definition to make it include one year post partum death of mothers, as the risk of
death has been shown to remain high half a year post partum (Ronsmans et al., 2006).
Many maternal deaths that occur usually occur in low and middle income countries.
In the year 2010, 287, 000 maternal deaths that were avoidable occurred, and most
occurred in these developing countries. Reduction of maternal deaths has been one of
the outcomes that have been targeted in the efforts to improve maternal health for the
Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Say et al., 2014). In developing countries,
especially Sub Saharan Africa, where fertility levels remain high, maternal deaths
have continued to be high despite the general deaths reduction (Requejo et al., 2013).
Many argue that there is not enough information to confidently describe and quantify
this problem, but Requejo et al., 2013 reported that the available information is
sufficient.
The social issues
The causes of maternal deaths are both direct and indirect. Majorly, the causes of
maternal death are usually the aftermath of childbirth and pregnancy, and are majorly
contributed to by diseases and

This offering of France to Canada is a sign of respect as France is willingly giving

creating a memorial monument for Canada on the land they ceded. After ceding the

The Dome Of The Rock
With a beautiful gilt dome decorating the skyline of Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock
is the oldest and most famous Islamic building on the Temple Mount. As a religious
space with kinetic and interrelated characteristics, it not only functions as a Muslim
shrine, but also exhibits significance based on its history and relative location to the
Jewish Temple and Christian churches. Built on the site of Solomon s Temple and
decorated with mosaics symbolizing the Paradise and Jewish royalty, the Dome
reveals the inspiration of Jewish traditions on Early Islam. Modeled on Christian
churches with a competitive appearance and inscriptions about Qur anic Christology
against Christ, the Dome emphasizes the Islamic view against Christianity and the
rivalry between them. Along the foreign conquests of Jerusalem, the shrine has an
identity that was once shifted from an Islamic monument to a church and then
restored, showing it as a kinetic space reflecting the development of Early Islam.
One of the most recognizable landmarks of Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock is an
octagonal shrine built in a similar architectural style used in Christian churches in
Palestine at that time. Completed in 692 AD under the rule of Umayyad caliph Abd
al Malik, the building has two ambulatories forming an octagonal shape around a
circular arcade, and within it lays the Foundation Rock. Its wooden gilt doom rises
like a tall cylinder and reaches an overall height of thirty meters (Grabar 1996: 52).

Examples Of How To Write A Letter To John Dalton
Dear Mrs. H,
I am now currently in the year of 1897, and I feel as if I need to write you a letter
because I haven t seen you in ages and you ve taught me so much so I need your
advice. The atomic structure in my point of view is completely different to John
Dalton s. His model influenced me to create mine; Dalton s claim was that matter
consists of atoms, which are indestructible, atoms of the same element were identical
in mass and some properties, but atoms from different elements don t have similar
characteristics. He said that atoms are the smallest unit of matter, and that atoms
combined as compounds in fixed numerical ratios, which he also determined.
But, I believed that atoms were the fundamental building blocks of matter and then
later on, I predicted that the atomic model was positively charged with electrons
scattered around the inside of the atom. I then conducted an experiment to provide
evidence for my predictions, using magnets of electricity, and I found that as soon as
the electricity passes and hits the cathode (metal conductor of electricity), it lights up
creating a beam of electrons that move from one negative end (cathode) to one
positive end (anode). After removing all the gas, the small hole in the anode lets the
beam pass through, creating a thin line. Using a magnet, he made the ... Show more

Montaigne and Descartes on Doubting
Diane Ihlenfeldt March 4, 2004 Philosophy 110 Montaigne and Descartes Montaigne
and Descartes both made use of a philosophical method that focused on the use of
doubt to make discoveries about themselves and the world around them. However,
they doubted different things. Descartes doubted all his previous knowledge from his
senses, while Montaigne doubted that there were any absolute certainties in
knowledge. Although they both began their philosophical processes by doubting,
Montaigne doubting a constant static self, and Descartes doubted that anything
existed at all, Descartes was able to move past that doubt to find one indubitably
certainty, I think, therefore I am . How often do we question what is real or true?

Descartes eventually managed to prove the existence of a higher being. He said that
since he had the idea of a perfect being, then that perfect being must exist. His
reasoning was that he, Descartes, was an imperfect being and that an imperfect
being could not come up with the concept of a perfect being without that perfect
being actually existing and giving Descartes that idea. Descartes still had to deal
with many doubts. The doubt of foremost importance was the doubting of his senses,
and the doubt of whether or not his body actually existed. Descartes decided that
since this God was a perfect being, it must then also be a compassionate being and
would not give Descartes senses and then use those senses to trick him into using
those senses to determine knowledge that was not in fact true. Descartes and
Montaigne did not agree in the ways in which they doubted. Descartes doubted about
the existence of all knowledge, but believed that there were certainties to be found
within that group of doubtable knowledge. Descartes focused on the fact that there
must be at least one certainty in the world, but began this search for this certainty by
methodically doubting everything that he already knew as knowledge. Montaigne
decided that nothing was certain, regardless of how many times it was tested, because
everything was constantly changing. Montaigne believed
Characteristics Of Oedipus The King
Oedipus the Tragic Hero A protagonist is a hero of a tragedy who has a high
authority or power, and is a somewhat okay person, who is brought down by an
error in judgement. A good character example is, Oedipus the King, by Sophocles.
Oedipus is a tragic hero who is characterized by the definition described. Oedipus the
kinghad a hard way of life since after his birth he is abandoned by his parents ,who
wanted him killed when he was cast out of Thebes. This however, does not stop him
from being completely happy in life. Oedipus is a tragic herobecause he is not this
perceived perfect guy. He has bad qualities, but this is not why he experiences a
downfall. Oedipus the King, by Sophocles is a greek tragedyplay about human
suffering and pain, but is good at the same time because a person can learn
something and benefit from it.Oedipus is already considered to be somewhat of a
hero in the beginning, as he is seen as a good person. He made decisions that
ultimately led to the changes that occurred in his life. Oedipus is a perfect
example of a tragic hero which can be seen in his characteristics like his tragic
flaws, the desire to know the truth, and the knowledge gained in the end. The first
thing as a tragic hero that Oedipus has is tragic flaws. Within the play Oedipus
displays two tragic flaws, his pride, and his arrogance, and determination. Tiresias,
the oracle predicted to Oedipus that he would in
Multicultural Community
Communities all over the world vary in terms of diversity. Community in one area
could be fully diverse and multicultural whereas, another community could lack
diversity. One area could consist of multiple ethnicities and their languages. Another
area could lack various ethnicities and multiple languages that they bring. There are
many elements that make a community diverse and multicultural. A multicultural
community that is composed of different ethnicities and languages creates a diverse
and an open minded, solid community. The community I lived in Nepal was non
diverse compared to Montgomery County, which consists of multiple ethnicities with
linguistic diversity. The community I spent about nine years in Nepal lacked ethnic
diversity. Although Nepal s society as a whole is ethnically diverse, Nepal is complex
due to the caste system that is still in use in modern day. The community in Nepal
that I stayed in was dominated by the Brahmans and Chhetris, who were members of
the highest caste in the Caste system. On the other hand, multiple ethnicities also
exist in Montgomery County as well. Montgomery County is one of the most diverse
counties that offers multi ethnics such as Whites, Blacks, African Americans, Asians,
Hispanics, etc. Various ethnicities make Montgomery County culturally diverse, with
the cultures different ethnic individuals bring to the community. In Nepal, the
majority of the spoke the language Nepali. There were also no practices of speaking a
Women In Ancient Greek Mythology
Ancient Greek mythology is filled with allusions to powerful men who overcame
kingdoms, fought for their personal liberty and did not hesitate to annihilate.
However, there are also numerous powerful and strong women who became
recognized for their ruthlessness and devious ways. These women are fierce, powerful
characters, however, simultaneously, appealing women. They are the most powerful
and detrimental women of ancient Greek mythology. The femme fatales. Medeas
attitude fits the character of a femme fatale. She naturally plays the role as an
incompatible womanof Greek society and its typical style. The term subaltern is
usually associated to one who has a lower status. The contrasting types of women
during the Golden Age varied from subaltern women to citizen women. Subaltern
women were the property of the household and took care of the children, whilst
citizen women owned the slaves and ran the households. The contrasting label is
Kurios , a Greek word that translates to lord or master . Women usually had a

This lack of food coupled with a poisoned environment ultimately lead to rapidly
spreading diseases popping up globally along with mass starvation of epic
proportions. Between the wars and the planet slowly dying, a decline in the global
population took place that the world had not seen since the bubonic plague almost a
thousand years earlier. It was a mass extinction which grew to the point where it was
on the verge of making mankind extinct. With the loss of such a large chunk of the
world population, militaries returned to slash and burn methods as they retreated,
further damaging the environment. And, the loss of population also meant a loss of
workers which had a devastating effect on industry and those manufactures that
supplied the war machines. This resulted in rapidly failing of economies throughout
the globe which then ultimately birthed the complete shutdown of governments, and

The Theory Of Energy, Order, And Disorder
The Theory of Energy, Order, and Disorder in the Military and in War
Brandon Rodriguez
Ramapo College of New Jersey
Abstract
The theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos can be applied to any and all
aspects of life. This essay focuses on applying this theory to specifically the U.S.
military and when in war. The war aspect in this application of energy, order and
disorder will also include combat sports, as this can also be seen as a form of
warfare. Using research consisting of articles and the like, along with interviews of
those with firsthand experience, I hope to illustrate not only how the theory of
energy, order, and disorder is present in the United Statesmilitary and in warfare, but
also how these things are substantially more orderly than they are usually given credit
for. Nonetheless, the essay will also go on to explain that no matter how much effort
expended in the hopes of establishing and maintaining order, it is only temporary, and
chaotic fallout is inevitable.
War is chaos. At least, that s what most people believe. And most people think this
because most of the time we are only invited to look at the surface, but what is war
really? The everlasting theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos is one that is
proven true time and time again. Whatever, or wherever it may be, the theory
remains accurate. The axiom is as follows: energy is required to establish and keep
order, but a chaotic breakdown is the natural end
Marketing Strategy Of Pampers
Pampers
Pampers was discovered in 1956, by Vic Mills, who worked at Proctor Gamble. The
company struggled when Huggies as created, but have developed a new strategy,
which has helped the company rise back to the top of the diaper industry. Pampers
new strategy focuses on customer feedback and relationships, global social media
marketing, promotions, and producing quality products. Pampers has grown to be the
number one brand in the diaper industry, due to their heavy utilization in social media
marketing, and the personal relationship with their customers.
History
Vic Mills is an engineer that worked for Proctor Gamble, who did not enjoy
changing his grandkids cloth diapers, so he wanted to come up with an easier
solution for changing diapers. With that being said, he worked with other
researchers to develop a disposable diaper in 1956, which was the start of Pampers.
In 1958 the company introduced the costly plastic diaper in Texas, but quickly
realized how uncomfortable they were for the babies and not economically cost
effective for the parents, so it was back to the drawing board. According to the
Pampers Newsroom (2011) six months after the Dallas Test market, P G designed a
diaper with better features including zee pleats, superior containment, a hydrophobic
top sheet and a plastic back sheet. The testing of the new and improved diaper was a
hit. Touching lives, improving life is Pampers driving force, and has not changed
since 1970s. According to Pampers Newsroom

not act on moral assumptions less certain than that the sun will rise in the east and set

because governments should never take human life, no matter what the provocation.
But that is an article of faith, not of fact. The death penalty honors human dignity by

People fear nothing more than death. Therefore, nothing will deter a criminal more
than the fear of death... life in prison is less feared. Murderers clearly prefer it to
execution otherwise, they would not try to be sentenced to life in prison instead of
death... Therefore, a life sentence must be less deterrent than a death sentence. And
we must execute murderers as long as it is merely possible that their execution
protects citizens from future murder.

CON: [T]here is no credible evidence that the death penalty deters crime more
effectively than long terms of imprisonment. States that have death penalty laws do
not have lower crime rates or murder rates than states without such laws. And states
that have abolished capital punishment show no significant changes in either crime or
murder rates. The death penalty has no deterrent effect. Claims that each execution
deters a certain number of murders have been thoroughly discredited by social

Diversity In Israel
Diversity is one of the main things that separates people from each other in society.
There are many ways diversity can be seen, either by, culture, nationality, status in
society, or by gender. A visible diversity many people commonly see is culture
diversity. Culture is simply, people s way of life. Cultureis what distinguishes people;
some may say it creates an invisible line between people. Many cultures are not
accepted due to the fact that their beliefs, traditions, or practice are different from
others. Many people believe that with diversity comes adversities. Many people are
unaware of the importance of different cultures, even though it may be different to
their custom. Growing up as a first generation Nigerian American was hard,... Show

“A Raisin in the Sun”
Lorraine Hansberry used symbolism in her successful drama, A Raisin in the Sun to
portray emotions felt in the lives of her characters and possible her own. Hansberry
set her piece in Chicago s South Side, probably the early 1950 s. During this period in
history, many African Americans, like the Youngers, struggled to overcome the well
known prejudices that were far too familiar. The main scene, in this touching realist
drama, is the home of the Youngers, an overcrowded run down apartment. Hansberry
used this private scenery to enhance the many feelings the Youngers, and other
African Americans, fought to conquer and to embrace in the name of happiness.
As with families of any ethnic group, the Youngers ultimate goal was to be... Show

Hansberry, not only, played on the condition of the apartment; she used the size as
well. The condition alone portrayed the despair and oppression the Youngers felt,
but Hansberry wanted to make their struggle to suppress depression undeniable. She
did this by placing the family of five, soon to be six, in a two bedroom apartment
with no bathroom. This small, cramped apartment also symbolized the pressures
from society to divvy up the limited resources partitioned for African Americans. By
setting the scene this way, Hansberry also was able to set the mood. The feelingof
tension and need for the characters to fight for their fair share is apparent in the
opening act, as Ruth rushes Travis into the bathroom before the neighbors. These
feelings serve as a foundation for the problems in act three between brother and
sister, Ruth s motive to have an abortion, and represent an explanation to the need so
many African Americans felt to compete against each other. Hansberry characterized
the lack of resources, a common theme here, not only in the lack of space, but also
in the lack of food, money, and sunlight. As conflict intensified in the small space,
Mama realized that her be loved family was falling apart and only the reality of
owning a home could bring unity. To overcome the mountains of negative emotions
the Youngers turn to their beckons of hope. The three main symbolic items Hansberry
used were Mama s
Animal Assisted Therapy ( Aat )
Animal assisted therapy (AAT) is a form of therapy which promotes social interaction,
as well as improvements in human social, emotional, physical and/or cognitive
functioning, creates an environment where the client can disclose and experience
empathy, trust, sensitivity, and comfort (Coetzee, Beukes, Lynch, 2013; Pet Partners,
2012). Pet/animal assisted therapyhas been traced back to the 18th century, with
records indicating that in 1919 pets accompanied psychiatric patients in a Washington
D.C hospital (Chu, Liu, Sun, Lin, 2009). When therapy sessions are accompanied by
the presence of an animal, the client enters a non threatening, safe and trusting
environment where self disclosure of personal emotions and experiences becomes
easier for the client (Reviewed by Coetzee, Beukes, Lynch, 2013).
It has been recorded that animal assisted therapy programs have included the
interaction with domestic, as well as exotic animals. Coetzee, Beukes, and Lynch
(2013) conducted a study which involved animal assisted therapy with lions, wild
dogs, tigers, mongoose, cheetahs, and ostriches for substance abuse inpatients in
South Africa. However, most animal assisted therapy sessions include dogs, or
horses. A service dog is trained to do work, care for, for perform tasks for people

A glance at the table of contents is enough to show that the sequence of chapters is
erratic and closer inspection reveals that the scope of individual chapters is far
wider than appears at first sight. Philosophic doctrines (which, according to the
author, are the basis of the talismanic art), theory of magic, astronomical,
astrological and physical lore, extensive directions for the practice of the art, and
accounts of the peoples by whom it is employed are jumbled together throughout
the book, with no discernible guiding principle. If a systematic arrangement is
anywhere perceptible, it is in the astrological and astronomical material, though
even this is far from selfcontained or methodically ordered. Subjects which belong
together are separated (e.g., the geographical sections on pp.171 ff. and 394 ff.),
long, discursive definitions, appearing in unexpected places, further break the
sequence (e.g., pp.78 and 343) . and there is a great deal more to make the reader s
task more difficult. This manner of writing may well be intentional, whether to make
the magical sections appear less suspect by interlarding them with theoretical
passages, or to make certain doctrines seem less strange by administering them in
small doses, or to demonstrate the equal validity of the magical and philosophical
material, or for a combination of all three reasons. At all events, a similar method of

Role Of Religion In Ancient Egyptian Culture
For starters, how many of us actually realize how different the role of religion
varies in each culture. In Egypt, religion importance is not the same for someone
else, for example what may be a factor in one s culture may not be a factor in
another culture that one embrace. Unlike other cultures beliefs, Egyptian cultures
consisted of a list of things, for example medicine, art, laws, agriculture and more are
all tied into their religious beliefs.
Also, Most aspects of Egyptian religion can be traced to the people s observation of
the environment. Fundamental was the love of sunlight, the solar cycle and the
comfort brought by the regular rhythms of nature, and the agricultural cycle
surrounding the rise and fall of the Nile. (Brewer, ... Show more content on

Each and every god Egyptians worshiped had more than one power in the eyes of
the believers as well as sometimes some gods had a combination of what individual
gods already had. It is very hard to establish the number of gods that were praised by
Ancient Egyptians. Also, Gods in ancient Egypt were always superior to humans,
they would live their life like humans. The only difference between a human and a
God was the standing possibility to be able to live again. Unlike humans, Gods
were forever immortal. Also, unlike humans gods came in different forms. The
early gods is the fact that a single deity could be represented in human form, in
zoomorphic form, or in a mixed animal human form. Although the animal forms
and therianthropic (i.e., part human, part animal) forms slightly predate
anthropoid manifestations. (Brewer, Teeter, 1). Ancient Egyptians believed in
more than one practice, but it is unlikely that the gods were derived from totemic
animals or that the Egyptians practiced zoolatry (i.e., worship of animals). Rather,
animal forms were probably used to suggest metaphorically something about the
characteristics of the god. (Brewer, Teeter, 1). Some of the things we despise of
now wasn t frowned upon ancient Egyptians religion. For example, The King of
the Underworld Osiris was married to his sister, where he was killed by his brother
and brought back to life by his wife to conceive a son. The son then despised the
Uncle and set out his death wish. ( List of 15 Most Worshiped Ancient Egyptian
Gods and Goddesses , 1.) In societies today, being with a member of your family is
very frowned upon and consider unapporiate. Whereas in ancient Egyptian culture the
importance of keeping the bloodline very pure was more than
Pomegranate Poem Analysis
strife and crisis, he attempts create an environment of order and control for the
infant republic that is just entering its revolutionary era. Eavan Boland s poem
Pomegranate, written in 1994, takes a radically different approach to parenthood
than Yeats s A Prayer for My Daughter. Rather than try to create a rigid plan for her
child to follow, Boland empathizes with her daughter and understands the
importance of letting her choose her own path, even if it is wrong or dangerous. She
starts the poem telling the gist of the story of Ceres and Persephone, a daughter lost
in hell/ And found and rescued there (Boland 215). She expresses that the best thing
about the legend is/ I can enter it anywhere. And have (Boland 215). She means that
she has been both a lost daughter and a worried mother. She recalls her childhood
exile in Britain, feeling strange and alien in the city of fogs and strange consonants
(Boland 215). In just the next line she walks out of the fog as a mother ready to
make any bargain to keep her daughter with her. However, just like Ceres, she knows
she cannot hold onto her daughter and she lets her pluck a pomegranate(Boland 215).
The poem itself is written in two long free flowing stanzas that emphasize the cyclical
nature the relationships between mothers and daughters. The speaker seamlessly
wanders between worlds: from childhood to motherhood, Greek myth to suburbia,
Britain to Ireland. The structure of the poem perfectly exemplifies how she enters the
legend, weaving in and out as she grows up and experiences life.
In final five lines she gives her daughter the myth and in doing so, encourages her
daughter to define her own legacy. She writes,
The legend will be hers as well as mine.
She will enter it. As I have.
She will wake up . She will hold the papery flushed skin in her had.
And to her lips. I will say nothing (Boland 216).
This image evokes the scene from Persephone s myth where she eats the
Pomegranate seeds that doom her to spend half the year in the underworld.
Essentially Boland is letting her daughter make the same mistakes as Persephone
because she realizes that it is not up to a mother to shield her child. Although they

The Story Of The 12 Spies
The story of the 12 spies seems to be a story of doubtfulness. Everyone has a sense
of doubt because we are human beings. Life is full of obstacles that you must get
over. All obstacles are able to be conquered, however our most mighty warrior is
God. He must learn to not doubt his ability to bring us through the many storms he
places before us. He uses these storms to test our faithfulness in Him.
In this part of the book of Numbers, the spies are sent to look into the land that had
been promised to His people. The part that stood out was the two different stories
that came back and how the ten spies had no faith in the ability of God s promise.
Time after time, God proved to the people of Israel that nothing could defeat them if
they just believed in His word and be faithful to His will. The Lord promised
Abraham that his people would be a mighty nation, Abraham believed and was one of
God s most faithful servants.
God used Moses to bring the people out from under the enslavement of Pharaoh. He
brought them through the Red Sea, however the people still doubted that God was
powerful enough to bring them to their own inheritance that waited for them.
The people of Israel, just like people of today, were impatient. Everyone wants
instant gratification. In my workplace, we have new employees that have worked
there less than six months and feel they are entitled to the same things as the
employees that have put in work for ten years and over.
I feel this was one of the
Frank Norris s Mcteague
Since the beginning of time, humans like animals, possess certain innate behaviors
that both are naturally born with. For example, animals are born, taken care of and
spend their life making sure they have enough food in order to survive and in the
end, reproduce. Similarly, humans also possess a natural instinct to survive,
consume, and reproduce in order to keep this on going cycle alive. The comparison
between humans and animals at time may disturb certain people due to the
simplification and degradation of the human race. However, it is this naturalistic
view in life that certain individuals believe should not be shielded from the public in
order to protect people and instead, believe it is necessary to educate as many people
possible in the reasoning and acceptance of mankind s innate actions. The novel
McTeague, written by Frank Norris, is a book that demonstrates an individual s
natural behaviors and desires which continues to be carried out by people today just
as it has been since the beginning of time. It is through McTeague, that Frank Norris
illustrates mankind s naturalistic behavior that not only grabs the attention of the
readers but infuriates the public as well.
Benjamin Franklin Norris, otherwise known as Frank Norris was born on March 5,
1870 in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his life, Frank Norris attended school in Paris,
the University of California, and Harvard University which would later benefit him
by establishing relationships which would
Night Exposes Much That Is Wrong With Human Nature

Night exposes much that is wrong with human nature and reveals little that is right
. Discuss. Night by Elie Wiesel is a non fiction novella based on true events of the
Holocaust. Wiesel reflects on how the ignorance of jews affected their time in the
concentration camps. He also shines a light on how Elie s relationship with his
father Shlomo, reveals little that is right with human nature. Elie acknowledges how
the struggle of faith reveals to the viewer what is wrong with human nature. Night
shows us how the Jews were awakened by their own ignorance. From the beginning
the jews chose to be ignorant about the german soldiers entering their homes. They
remained ignorant of Moche the Beetles stories. Mrs. Schachter even tried multiple
times to explain to them what type of dangers were coming. But instead, nobody
listened, and they were awakened by their own ignorance.Elie refers to the infants
being used as targets for the machine guns .The sad eyed angel who was hung

Elie has moments throughout his time at Auschwitz where he thinks about leaving
his father but his guilt stops him from doing it. Elie s relationship with his father
on him strengthened as they relied on each other for survival and comfort,
especially in his father s final days. Shlomo Elie knows though keeping his father
closer to him is a higher possibility in death. Elie s father always tries to protect Elie
and stick up for him. In a conversation with Elie, Shlomo says how you must resist,
don t lose faith in yourself . In the Novel the Don t lose faith in yourself attitude
symbolises all that his father believes in. Elie s relationship with his father is stronger
and exposes little that is right with human nature. Elie s father, Shlomo attitude
signifies that Elie mustn t lose faith in
Hundred Year s War
The Hundred Year s War was marked by one hundred seventeen continuous years of
warfare between the Kingdom of France and the Kingdom of England, specifically a
power struggle between Philip VI and Edward III. Not only did this war, mark the
end of English attempts to control continental territory and the birth of the nation
state of Francebut as well among the immediate and long standing consequences was
a reconstruction of British and French Culture. During this time of warfare, an
Englishman by the name of Thomas Tuberville, [was] taken prisoner by the French
in 1295, [and] was released on the condition that he act as a spy at the English court
where, however, he eventually aroused suspicion, was arrested, tried, and executed

To support this claim, I plan to focus on Joan of Arc Letter to the English on the 22
nd of March 1429, Allmond s exploration of hosting laws and Roger Bacon s letter.
In the letter to the English, Joan of Arc warns the King of England to retract from war
or expect to face physical violence. Despite Joan of Arc later downfall by treason,
her letter as a servant of the French kingdom illustrates that nationalism grew at the
expense of rigid international relations. In order to further explore the international
animosity that grew, as well I plan to explore the hosting laws [that were
established] whereby alien merchants would be kept under effective guard by
being obliged to go to host with known and reliable Englishmen who would vouch
for their good behavior while they were residing in England due to a fear of spies
(Allmond,43). Lastly Roger Bacon in his letter, on the other hand, elaborates on how
authors hid their secrets by means of special letters, devised by their own ingenuity
and will, and different from those which are anywhere in use ending the once
promoted admiration of military skills during the prominence of chivalry
Security Is A Threat Of Security
Introduction:
Security is a central concern in the study of international relations (IR). Yet despite
being the focus of considerable scrutiny, few agreed conceptions of security exist
(Buzan, 1991; Huysmans, 2006; Terriff et al., 1991; McSweeney, 1999; Morgan,
1992; Croft 2012; Smith 2000). Buzan even goes as far to posit that the very
conception of security is essentially contested and thus poses an unsolvable debate
(Buzan, People, states and fear; Little, ideology and change, p35). These
disagreements have created rifts in the security community over what can be
threatened and indeed what can even be considered a threat. Part of the complexity to
the subject is derived from the numerous opposing and often contradicting theoretical
perspectives within international relations itself, of which security is a sub field
(Terrif et al. 1991 Security studies today). This paper thereby seeks to trace the
various theoretical strands of security studies with the hope of elucidating how and
why Islam, and Muslims immigrants have been increasingly portrayed as a threat and
Otherised in Britain.
The Golden Age of Security Studies:
For the latter half of the Twentieth Century, the dominant school of thought related to
security was neo realism. Stemming from works produced by Hobbes, Thucydides,
and Machiavelli, followers of the neo realists paradigm sought to see the world for
what it was, rather than what they wished (Crawford 1991; Terrif et al., 1991).

Examples Of In-Depth Interview
To answer my research question, I chose semi structured in depth interviews because
it particularly lends itself to exploring challenging and complex life situations such as
the return to work following parental leave. According to Valerie Yow, the recorded
in depth interview can offer answers to questions that no other methodology can
provide (Yow 2005, 9). In her introductory chapter on in depth interviewing, Yow
specifically mentions complex decisions as a case where in depth interviews allow us
to pose questions that remain invisible in statistics and official records. Thus, while
the OECD family database statistics might provide us with useful information about
Hungarian mothers decisions concerning employment, in my research I would like to
ask women to explain the various and differing factors contributing to these choices.

8 respondents were university graduates, 7 had high school diplomas and 1
interviewee completed a vocational secondary course. 10 interviewees worked in full
time jobs, 4 in part time (6 hour) positions and 1 in a flexible work arrangement. One
woman was currently on maternity leave, but before the birth of her second child,
she had worked full time. Interviewees conducted a wide range of blue , pink , and
white collar jobs, and not all women carried out work according to their
qualifications. For example, several university graduates worked in jobs not
requiring tertiary studies. 10 of my respondents had one child, 2 women had two and
4 had three or more children. Youngest children were aged 7 months to 26 months at
the time when the interviewees ended their parental leave. 9 of my interviewees were
located in Budapest, while 7 lived outside of the capital: among them 6 lived in
towns and one in a
Valley Of Death Research Papers
The valley of death is a general term in the startup business world, suggesting to the
difficulty to recover the negative cash flow in the premature stages of a startup
business, before their new product or service is recovering the revenue from the
market. The main problem in the medical research is efficiency gap. The companies
are investing huge amount and time day by day while only very few number of new
products approved compare to previous years.
Out of 5000 distinctive molecules are being revealed, very small percentage of
these make it possible into clinical trials and only one product gets approval at cost
of $1.2 $1.3 Billion for marketing by the regulatory authority. More than half of all

Actually the transition from laboratory accomplishment towards human clinical trials
has develop into so complicated manners that former NIH Director Elias Zerhouni
has designate it the valley of death. University s laboratories are examining cells and
enzymes and investigate models of human diseases in animals. Usually, after these
discoveries, the duty of testing the potential drug in humans is a part of industries.
But from the last few years Pharmaceutical companies are focusing on the drug
which already passed the regulatory hurdles due to increasing clinical trial cost,
expiration of patent and regulatory stringency. New trend has come up that big
pharmaceutical companies are willing buy small pharmaceutical company whose
research is in final stage and promising the drug approval from the FDA. According
to Center Watch, the clinical trial business association, the figure of clinical trials
including the United States and worldwide studies, decrease in 2012 compared to
previous four years. These developments disturb researchers who have newly
identified compounds in the laboratory that they were thinking that it could be
effective to treat dengue viruses, west Nile virus, and hepatitis C virus. These new
innovative compounds can be drug by exploring a different route i.e. university,

Examples Of Dysfunctional Relationships
Dysfunctional People in Relationships
Have you ever wondered why some people stay in a dysfunctional relationship?
Dysfunctional relationships are relationships that do not perform their appropriate
function. In The Yellow Wallpaper, The narrator is a doctor who although probably
filled with good intentions, comes off seeming domineering. The narrator and her
husband move into a manor for the summer to help her with her temporary nervous
depression a slight hysterical tendency. Female patients were not to listened to by
male patients, but because back then women were not in positions of power. The two
main reasons why their relationship is dysfunctional is the way John treats the
narrator and the fact that she has postpartum depression so she is not herself.
The medical world has changed a lot since back then. For instance, there were no
female doctors at that time. In the 1800 s, much was unknown in the terms of
health. The mortality rate was high and life expectancy was low. Parents, rich or
poor, had no way of combating the deadly diseases and infections that often took
their children s lives. Deadly outbreaks of cholera ( an infection in the small
intestine) to the flu were, understandably, a leading cause of death in children at the
time. After all, children s immune systems are not fully developed and are therefore
weaker in the terms of fighting off these fatal diseases. Medicine has advanced
dramatically from the 1800 s to the present.Today, although not all children are
healthy if any, foods available to them, the overall diet of children has improved.
Also, with what is known
about diseases and transmission, many deadly diseases are under control. Luckily,
today it is much more common for people also have regular checkups with the doctor,
from the time they are in the womb through adulthood.
One reason why John and the narrator s relationship is dysfunctional is that John
treats the narrator like a child. The relationship between the narrator and John is not
overly loving, but unlike many people, I do not believe that John was intentionally
trying to hurt her. John cares about his wife, he just refuses to admit that his own
prescribed treatment may, in fact, be the wrong treatment. John
Essay on War on Terror
On september 11, 2001 there was an attack on America. Four airplanes were
hijacked, two were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, the third
crashed into the Pentagon in D.C. and the fourth got stopped by a passenger. It was
the first terrorist attack on the U.S. soil. Thousands of lives were lost that day. This
attach was the most devastating act of belligerence on U.S territory since the Civil
War (Terrorism, 2011). This even had an enormous influence on America and its
history. It led to numerous short and long term effects. On September 20, 2001,
former president George W. Bushannounced publicly that he declares War on Terror .
After this announcement, our country has altered. To determine if an effect was...

TSA is able to open and search passenger s luggage for security screening, not many
people like this ability. In some cases the agents don t replace the locks or close
them properly. TSA has two companies make different kinds of locks that can be
opened and relocked by special tools and information by the manufacturer. A
positive side to this note is that if a passengers TSA approved lock is missing they
can file a claim with form SF 95. (Security, 2010) People get irritated by this,
because no one wants people going through their personal belongings. Despite the
fact that this is a simple way to detect if someone is carrying a bomb, any other type
of explosives or anything else that could be dangerous boarding a plane.
In the beginning of November 2010 TSA added new screening procedures. The
new screening procedures were created because of the reactions of the Underwear
bomber . That person smuggled plastic explosives onto and airplane in December
2009. These procedures include the backscatter X ray and the sliding pat downs.
The backscatter X ray displays images of passenger s bodies. During sliding pat
downs officers screen passenger s breast, buttocks and genitals with the back of
their hand. All pat downs are done by a TSA officer of same gender of that
passenger. And if requested the procedure can be done in a private room. On
November 23, 2010 TSA officials said that some U.S government officials were
The Brass Check Personal Response
The Brass Check received a lot of criticism, unsurprisingly, from the mainstream
media. He personally published the book, as no book publishers would take it,
even though it had a lot of potential and actually sold over 150,000 copies. Almost
all media either refused to review The Brass Check or gave it a falsely negative
review, charging it with falsifying facts. Large newspapers such as the New York
Times wouldn t even run advertisements for the books. Sinclair, who had tried to be
as accurate as possible for his entire career, challenged the media companies to sue
him for criminal libel if they could prove anything in The Brass Check to be false.
Not one ever did. In fact, independent sources at the time found the book to be a very

The Impact Of Poplar Plantation On The World s Largest...
Poplar is a versatile tree species that is highly amenable to vegetative propagation
(Jiaxing et al. 2014), it has a rapid growth rate, which is a good model system for
the transformation of woody plant species (Ali Movahedi et al.2014). These trees
are highly beneficial to our environment; their oxygen plays a vital role in the
protection of soil erosion in eastern China. They are used as habitat for wildlife, soil
carbon sequestration, and phytoremediation. They are able to grow in lowland and
highland forestation (Bernd et al., 2004), which makes them very important to the
pulp, paper, and cosmetic industries (Ferreira et al., 2009). The P. deltoides are one of
the fastest growing trees in North America (Haverbeke et al., 2000). They are the
largest North American hardwood tree (Steve Nix, et al., 2001). Poplar plantation
plays an important role in eastern China agriculture industries. In 2002, the Republic
of China launched the world s largest tree planting project, within the same year their
State Forestry Administration approved genetically modified poplars for commercial
planting.China has over one million genetically modified crops that have been
planted (Chris Lang, 2004). Furthermore, they have over 7.0 million hm2 poplars
planted, which makes them one of the countries with the largest poplar plantation. As
many countries, The Chinese government is highly interested in poplar plantations

for something great in your life to happen you gotta believe that it can happen, then
go out and make it happen! Achieve your goals by going out there into that big, wide,

My parents, siblings and I have really grown down here in Florida and the

want to be, but to be great for other people and each other. Without my parents
dream to move down here and them being able to achieve it I would never have

enrolled for child care and have this amazing opportunity to work with children to
help their minds grow so they can learn, and achieve their dreams as they get older.
Everyone has the possibility to grow into the people they want to be. Under no
circumstance should anyone ever believe that they can not make their dreams come
Pathos And Cons Of Meat
Comparing the Arguments of Meat Consumption In conducting a rhetorical analysis
of the two articles, Joel Salatin: How to Eat Animals and Respect Them, Too by
Madeline Ostrander and Humane Meat? No Such Thing by Sunaura Taylor, both
articles stand in stark contrast in terms of the viewpoints of meatthat they present. In
order to gain a better understanding of these viewpoints, it s important to understand
the persuasive techniques that both authors use in the article for the reader. More
specifically, the ethos, pathos, and logos that they employ, as well the way in which
the evidence and support is presented will further elucidate upon the arguments that
appear in both articles.

She cites a 2008 Carnegie Mellon University study, for example, to state how not
eating red meat and diary just one day of the week can achieve just as much in
greenhouse gas reductions as simply just eating local, organic food. Her argument
though does suffer a bit when she begins to talk about the morality and ethics of
eating meat. She doesn t back up her assertions with too many facts at this point and
mainly uses her opinion at times as enough justification. Her mentioning of humane
meat being an oxymoron and how it weighs on the consciences of its advocates
seems to be more of her own drawn conclusions than a fact. Nonetheless, she presents
her points
Kevin Mourby Singing Saw Analysis
If there is one thing about Kevin Morby s latest LP, City Music, that immediately
leaps out, it s the sense of playfulness. The album is not light and fluffy by any
means, but there is this unflappable feeling of spontaneity and glee that instantly
hooks your attention. This is the fourth solo outing from the Babies frontman. Like
his 2016 effort, Singing Saw, the album is a mixture of folk quiet intensity and some
rollicking good rock music. While it never becomes a great disc, it is one of the
more thoroughly and consistently pleasant and enjoyable releases of the year. As
mentioned previously, the eclecticism of his music is inarguably Kevin s greatest
success. Over forty eight minutes, the man dips his toes into bitter country music,
spoken word poetry, fuzz driven indie, and even an excursion into Lorde like
minimalism. Each of these songs has their own identity. 1234 is the unashamed four
to the floor throwback to garage rock from days of yore. It s noisy and messy with
these hypnotic looping vocal tics which culminate in... Show more content on

real treat. It begins with this slow, minimalist beat that builds and builds to these
hyperkinetic guitar solos and a multitude of additional instruments colliding. It
attempts to encapsulate the magic of a city s culture as well as its homogeneity and it

Standard Oil Myser In Spindletop
During the 19th century there was a rapid growth in industrialization and change
in America. The iron and steel industry spawned new construction materials, the
railroads connected the country and the discovery of oil provided a new source of
fuel (John D. Rockefeller, 2015). The discovery of an oil geyser in Spindletop was
a paramount cause for the rapid growth of the oil industry. Within a year, oil
became the primary fuel in America and became an integral part of the economy.
This state of things is made possible, and is obtaining, solely by and under the
power and use of machinery; first in the hands of individual capitalists; then in the
hands of companies; and, lastly, by corporations (Moody, 1883). Industry leader

Rockefeller, 2015) and had a monopoly on fuel in America. In order to exploit
economies of scale, Standard Oil did everything from build its own oil barrels to
employ scientists to figure out new uses for petroleum by products (John D.
Rockefeller, 2015). With the rapid growth in factories and industries, there became a
need to change how the American workers were being treated. Labor unions were
created to help improve the working class with job related complications such as low
pay, unsafe or unhealthy working conditions, and exceptionally long hours. Andrew
Carnegie, an industrial giant in the steel industry, ran his companies with a dictatorial
hand; his factories operated around the clock and workers were burdened with long
hours (Engelman, 2015). Labor unions like the famous American Federation of Labor
and the Knights of Labor were able to improve working conditions for Americans by
establishing laws within the government and business, sometimes using strikes as a
tool to bring about these changes. Many times

Comparative Essay Writing.pdf

  • 1. Comparative Essay Writing Crafting a comparative essay can be both a challenging and intellectually rewarding task. The complexity lies not only in comparing two or more subjects but in presenting a cohesive argument that highlights their similarities and differences. This type of essay demands a keen analytical mind and the ability to delve deep into the nuances of each subject under consideration. One of the primary difficulties in comparative essay writing is the necessity to strike a delicate balance between the subjects being compared. It requires a nuanced approach to ensure that neither subject overshadows the other, while still allowing for a comprehensive analysis. Selecting relevant criteria for comparison, conducting thorough research, and organizing the information in a logical manner are crucial steps that demand time and effort. Another challenge is maintaining a clear and coherent structure throughout the essay. The writer must establish a strong thesis statement and guide the reader through a well-organized body that seamlessly transitions between the subjects. This task requires careful planning to avoid confusion and to ensure that the essay flows smoothly from one point to the next. Furthermore, the writer must possess a deep understanding of the subjects being compared. This involves in-depth research and critical analysis to identify key similarities and differences. A superficial examination can lead to a lackluster essay, while a profound exploration of the subjects can elevate the piece to a higher academic standard. Moreover, integrating credible sources and evidence to support the comparative analysis adds another layer of complexity. Proper citation and referencing are essential to maintain academic integrity and avoid plagiarism. This aspect demands attention to detail and a thorough understanding of citation styles. In conclusion, writing a comparative essay requires a combination of analytical skills, research capabilities, and effective organization. It is not a task for the faint-hearted, as it demands a deep dive into the subjects under consideration. However, the satisfaction derived from successfully crafting a well-argued comparative essay can be immensely rewarding, showcasing the writer's prowess in critical thinking and analysis. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any other academic writing challenges, professional services like HelpWriting.net can provide valuable support. Grammar is a very important life skill, and Kyle Wiens progressed his company in firing those with poor grammar. He is a grammar stickler whom has an extreme approach when it comes to grammar, zero tolerance, firing those without proper grammar. Wiens claims everyone at one of his two companies iFixit or Dozoki take a mandatory grammar test. Firstly, he conveys his message that grammar is good credibility. For instance, he said Even in this hyper competitive market, I will pass on a great programmer who cannot write. Both of his companies are online instructions and manuals, but if you have online instructions without proper grammar

To predict what form their resistance might take, managers need to be aware of the four most common reasons people resist change. These are a desire not to lose something of value, a misunderstanding of the change and its implications, a belief that the change does not make sense for the organization, and a low tolerance for change. Parochial self interest. One major reason people resist organizational change is that they think they will lose something of value as a result. In these cases, because people focus on their own best interests and not on those of the total organization, resistance often results in politics or political behavior. 5 Consider these two examples: в– After a number of years of rapid growth, the president of an organization decided that its size demanded the creation of a new staff function New Product Planning and Development to be headed by a vice president. Medicaid was expanded to include children, pregnant women, parents, and adults without dependent children up to 133% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). (d.)Individual Mandate In the Pre ACA Era, individuals were not required to purchase insurance. Most individuals were provided health benefits through their employer, but, a significant proportion of the population remained uninsured. This lead to increased health care costs overall and posed several challenges to insurers like adverse selection, moral hazard and high risk pools. In the ACA Era, by authorizing the individual mandate and setting up the insurance marketplace, individuals are pooled together with a patient characteristic other than their health status. This leads to an assortment of individuals in the insurance pool with a combination of high utilizers and low utilizers of health care. Furthermore, the healthy individuals in the risk pool will help offset the costs from sicker individuals. As a consequence of the individual mandate the number of insured individuals will increase as all individuals are required to have some form of insurance. • 5. Literary Analysis Of After Apple-Picking By Robert Frost From After Apple Picking by Robert Frost Lines 1 8 My long two pointed ladder s sticking through a tree Toward heaven still, And there s a barrel that I didn t fill Beside it, and there may be two or three Apples I didn t pick upon some bough. But I am done with apple picking now. Essence of winter sleep is on the night, The scent of apples: I am drowsing off. In the selected lines from Robert Frost s After Apple Picking, Frost creates the setting for the poem through time indicators, while also relaying the idea that this is not simply a poem about only apple picking, but it is metaphor about life and death where apple picking means collecting and life experiences. Line one states My long two pointed ladder s sticking through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The barrel that is not filled represents the capacity to do things before an end of some kind, and the space that could occupy the barrel is empty. In other words, the empty barrel represents missed opportunity: in the case of apple picking, it could be filled with apples, but is not at the end of the day. When this concept is related the life itself, it means that ones life could be filled with memories or life experiences, but at the end, they have not occurred. Then Frost tells us, Beside it, and there may be two or three Apples I didn t pick upon some bough (4 5). With these lines we get more information relating to the barrel that is not filled, which says that there is apples to be picked to fill the barrel but the narrator does not pick them. With the analogy relating the missed apple to missed life experiences, it can be inferred that there are two or three life experiences that have or will be missed. The word bough (5) literally means the main branch of a tree. The missed apples while apple picking were not missed because they were on a small limb; they were missed seemingly on purpose, because if they were on a small hidden limb it would be understandable if they were missed on accident. This tells us that the theoretical life experiences, represented as apples, were not small in nature but large. This is a representation of Frost s feelings toward the ending of life before one is done experiencing normal life steps.

Gender Double Standards For Children Gender Double Standards for Children in Parenting According to an analysis done by Seth Stephens Davidowitz, for every ten U.S. google search requests about males being overweight, there are seventeen searches about girls being overweight, but in reality, boys are nine percent more probable to being overweight than girls (Gonchar). There are countless kinds of gender double standards in society, including the standards parents hold their children to. It is no secret that parents dream for their daughters to be attractive and their sons to be athletic. How else do these standards become apparent in a child s upbringing? In an investigative paper, The Gender Double Standards in Parenting Attitudes, Meeso Caponi Ro, William G. Axinn, and Linda Young DeMarco state, We differentiate dating, sex, and premarital cohabitation from marital and childbearing behavior to investigate differences within the courtship and family formation domain. Parents tend to be more lenient when it comes to their boy s romantic relationships and stricter with their daughters. A new study from Netmums reveals that 88 per cent of mums admitted that they treated their sons and daughters differently despite thinking that this was wrong. (The Gender). Parents don t want to admit they treat their kids differently, because then issues of favoritism or unfair treatment can occur, but by human
  • 7. Service Gaps In Little Haiti Service Gaps. One of the gaps in services and resources in Little Haiti identified is in education. All of the public schools in Little Haiti have a grade of either C or D ( Miami Dade County Public Schools, n.d.). These schools with below average achievement scores do not benefit the children attending who are coming from a community that has a below average high schooldiploma rate. As the workforce continues to become more competitive, college educationis going to begin to replace high schooldiplomas as a prerequisite for the majority of jobs. If the public education system does not begin to provide education that not only aids these youth in obtaining high school diplomas but additionally supports their advancement through college, than this community will not be able to move ahead with society. There is a high concentration of Haitian Americans holding low skill, low wage jobs. Understanding that Haiti is one of the poorest countries and that immigrants came to the United States with no formal education, necessary steps need to be taken to ensure that each generation has an opportunity to advance obtain this education and advance their community a bit more (Sohmer, Jackson, Katz, Warren, 2005). There are a couple ways this writer would begin to address this gap. First, the schools need to initiate or strength their parent association programs. Parents should receive ongoing education on student progress, areas needing improvement, and ways to best support

  • 13. Maternal Mortality And Death Of A Pregnant Woman Essay Introduction Maternal mortality/death is defined as the death of a pregnant woman by causes related to the pregnancy or its management, or death of a post partum mother within 42 days after pregnancy termination (Requejo, Bryce, Victora, Deixel, 2013; Ronsmans, Graham, group, 2006; Say et al., 2014). There are proposals to change this definition to make it include one year post partum death of mothers, as the risk of death has been shown to remain high half a year post partum (Ronsmans et al., 2006). Many maternal deaths that occur usually occur in low and middle income countries. In the year 2010, 287, 000 maternal deaths that were avoidable occurred, and most occurred in these developing countries. Reduction of maternal deaths has been one of the outcomes that have been targeted in the efforts to improve maternal health for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Say et al., 2014). In developing countries, especially Sub Saharan Africa, where fertility levels remain high, maternal deaths have continued to be high despite the general deaths reduction (Requejo et al., 2013). Many argue that there is not enough information to confidently describe and quantify this problem, but Requejo et al., 2013 reported that the available information is sufficient. The social issues The causes of maternal deaths are both direct and indirect. As a religious space with kinetic and interrelated characteristics, it not only functions as a Muslim shrine, but also exhibits significance based on its history and relative location to the Jewish Temple and Christian churches. Built on the site of Solomon s Temple and decorated with mosaics symbolizing the Paradise and Jewish royalty, the Dome reveals the inspiration of Jewish traditions on Early Islam. Modeled on Christian churches with a competitive appearance and inscriptions about Qur anic Christology against Christ, the Dome emphasizes the Islamic view against Christianity and the rivalry between them. Along the foreign conquests of Jerusalem, the shrine has an identity that was once shifted from an Islamic monument to a church and then restored, showing it as a kinetic space reflecting the development of Early Islam. One of the most recognizable landmarks of Jerusalem, the Dome of the Rock is an octagonal shrine built in a similar architectural style used in Christian churches in Palestine at that time. Examples Of How To Write A Letter To John Dalton Dear Mrs. H, I am now currently in the year of 1897, and I feel as if I need to write you a letter because I haven t seen you in ages and you ve taught me so much so I need your advice. The atomic structure in my point of view is completely different to John Dalton s. His model influenced me to create mine; Dalton s claim was that matter consists of atoms, which are indestructible, atoms of the same element were identical in mass and some properties, but atoms from different elements don t have similar characteristics. He said that atoms are the smallest unit of matter, and that atoms combined as compounds in fixed numerical ratios, which he also determined. But, I believed that atoms were the fundamental building blocks of matter and then later on, I predicted that the atomic model was positively charged with electrons scattered around the inside of the atom. I then conducted an experiment to provide evidence for my predictions, using magnets of electricity, and I found that as soon as the electricity passes and hits the cathode (metal conductor of electricity), it lights up creating a beam of electrons that move from one negative end (cathode) to one positive end (anode). After removing all the gas, the small hole in the anode lets the beam pass through, creating a thin line. Using a magnet, he made the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Montaigne and Descartes on Doubting Diane Ihlenfeldt March 4, 2004 Philosophy 110 Montaigne and Descartes Montaigne and Descartes both made use of a philosophical method that focused on the use of doubt to make discoveries about themselves and the world around them. However, they doubted different things. Descartes doubted all his previous knowledge from his senses, while Montaigne doubted that there were any absolute certainties in knowledge. Although they both began their philosophical processes by doubting, Montaigne doubting a constant static self, and Descartes doubted that anything existed at all, Descartes was able to move past that doubt to find one indubitably certainty, I think, therefore I am . How often do we question what is real or true? Descartes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Descartes eventually managed to prove the existence of a higher being. He said that since he had the idea of a perfect being, then that perfect being must exist. His reasoning was that he, Descartes, was an imperfect being and that an imperfect being could not come up with the concept of a perfect being without that perfect being actually existing and giving Descartes that idea. Descartes still had to deal with many doubts. The doubt of foremost importance was the doubting of his senses, and the doubt of whether or not his body actually existed. Descartes decided that since this God was a perfect being, it must then also be a compassionate being and would not give Descartes senses and then use those senses to trick him into using those senses to determine knowledge that was not in fact true. Descartes and Montaigne did not agree in the ways in which they doubted. Descartes doubted about the existence of all knowledge, but believed that there were certainties to be found within that group of doubtable knowledge. Descartes focused on the fact that there must be at least one certainty in the world, but began this search for this certainty by methodically doubting everything that he already knew as knowledge. Montaigne decided that nothing was certain, regardless of how many times it was tested, because everything was constantly changing. Montaigne believed

The Theory Of Energy, Order, And Disorder The Theory of Energy, Order, and Disorder in the Military and in War Brandon Rodriguez Ramapo College of New Jersey Abstract The theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos can be applied to any and all aspects of life. This essay focuses on applying this theory to specifically the U.S. military and when in war. The war aspect in this application of energy, order and disorder will also include combat sports, as this can also be seen as a form of warfare. Using research consisting of articles and the like, along with interviews of those with firsthand experience, I hope to illustrate not only how the theory of energy, order, and disorder is present in the United Statesmilitary and in warfare, but also how these things are substantially more orderly than they are usually given credit for. Nonetheless, the essay will also go on to explain that no matter how much effort expended in the hopes of establishing and maintaining order, it is only temporary, and chaotic fallout is inevitable. War is chaos. At least, that s what most people believe. And most people think this because most of the time we are only invited to look at the surface, but what is war really? The everlasting theory of energy, order, and disorder/chaos is one that is proven true time and time again. Whatever, or wherever it may be, the theory remains accurate. The axiom is as follows: energy is required to establish and keep order, but a chaotic breakdown is the natural end

Hansberry set her piece in Chicago s South Side, probably the early 1950 s. During this period in history, many African Americans, like the Youngers, struggled to overcome the well known prejudices that were far too familiar. The main scene, in this touching realist drama, is the home of the Youngers, an overcrowded run down apartment. Hansberry, not only, played on the condition of the apartment; she used the size as well. The condition alone portrayed the despair and oppression the Youngers felt, but Hansberry wanted to make their struggle to suppress depression undeniable. She did this by placing the family of five, soon to be six, in a two bedroom apartment with no bathroom. This small, cramped apartment also symbolized the pressures from society to divvy up the limited resources partitioned for African Americans. By setting the scene this way, Hansberry also was able to set the mood. The feelingof tension and need for the characters to fight for their fair share is apparent in the opening act, as Ruth rushes Travis into the bathroom before the neighbors. These feelings serve as a foundation for the problems in act three between brother and sister, Ruth s motive to have an abortion, and represent an explanation to the need so many African Americans felt to compete against each other. Hansberry characterized the lack of resources, a common theme here, not only in the lack of space, but also in the lack of food, money, and sunlight. As conflict intensified in the small space, Mama realized that her be loved family was falling apart and only the reality of owning a home could bring unity. To overcome the mountains of negative emotions the Youngers turn to their beckons of hope. The three main symbolic items Hansberry used were Mama s

Animal Assisted Therapy ( Aat ) Animal assisted therapy (AAT) is a form of therapy which promotes social interaction, as well as improvements in human social, emotional, physical and/or cognitive functioning, creates an environment where the client can disclose and experience empathy, trust, sensitivity, and comfort (Coetzee, Beukes, Lynch, 2013; Pet Partners, 2012). When therapy sessions are accompanied by the presence of an animal, the client enters a non threatening, safe and trusting environment where self disclosure of personal emotions and experiences becomes easier for the client (Reviewed by Coetzee, Beukes, Lynch, 2013). It has been recorded that animal assisted therapy programs have included the interaction with domestic, as well as exotic animals. Although the animal forms and therianthropic (i.e., part human, part animal) forms slightly predate anthropoid manifestations. (Brewer, Teeter, 1). Ancient Egyptians believed in more than one practice, but it is unlikely that the gods were derived from totemic animals or that the Egyptians practiced zoolatry (i.e., worship of animals). Rather, animal forms were probably used to suggest metaphorically something about the characteristics of the god. (Brewer, Teeter, 1). Some of the things we despise of now wasn t frowned upon ancient Egyptians religion. For example, The King of the Underworld Osiris was married to his sister, where he was killed by his brother and brought back to life by his wife to conceive a son. The son then despised the Uncle and set out his death wish. ( List of 15 Most Worshiped Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses , 1.) In societies today, being with a member of your family is very frowned upon and consider unapporiate. Whereas in ancient Egyptian culture the importance of keeping the bloodline very pure was more than
  • 40. Pomegranate Poem Analysis strife and crisis, he attempts create an environment of order and control for the infant republic that is just entering its revolutionary era. Eavan Boland s poem Pomegranate, written in 1994, takes a radically different approach to parenthood than Yeats s A Prayer for My Daughter. Rather than try to create a rigid plan for her child to follow, Boland empathizes with her daughter and understands the importance of letting her choose her own path, even if it is wrong or dangerous. She starts the poem telling the gist of the story of Ceres and Persephone, a daughter lost in hell/ And found and rescued there (Boland 215). She expresses that the best thing about the legend is/ I can enter it anywhere. And have (Boland 215). She means that she has been both a lost daughter and a worried mother. She recalls her childhood exile in Britain, feeling strange and alien in the city of fogs and strange consonants (Boland 215). In just the next line she walks out of the fog as a mother ready to make any bargain to keep her daughter with her. However, just like Ceres, she knows she cannot hold onto her daughter and she lets her pluck a pomegranate(Boland 215). The poem itself is written in two long free flowing stanzas that emphasize the cyclical nature the relationships between mothers and daughters. The speaker seamlessly wanders between worlds: from childhood to motherhood, Greek myth to suburbia, Britain to Ireland. The structure of the poem perfectly exemplifies how she enters the legend, weaving in and out as she grows up and experiences life. In final five lines she gives her daughter the myth and in doing so, encourages her daughter to define her own legacy. She writes, The legend will be hers as well as mine. She will enter it. As I have. She will wake up . She will hold the papery flushed skin in her had. And to her lips. I will say nothing (Boland 216). This image evokes the scene from Persephone s myth where she eats the Pomegranate seeds that doom her to spend half the year in the underworld. Essentially Boland is letting her daughter make the same mistakes as Persephone because she realizes that it is not up to a mother to shield her child. Although they will always be
  • 41. The Story Of The 12 Spies The story of the 12 spies seems to be a story of doubtfulness. Everyone has a sense of doubt because we are human beings. Life is full of obstacles that you must get over. All obstacles are able to be conquered, however our most mighty warrior is God. He must learn to not doubt his ability to bring us through the many storms he places before us. He uses these storms to test our faithfulness in Him. In this part of the book of Numbers, the spies are sent to look into the land that had been promised to His people. The part that stood out was the two different stories that came back and how the ten spies had no faith in the ability of God s promise. Time after time, God proved to the people of Israel that nothing could defeat them if they just believed in His word and be faithful to His will. The Lord promised Abraham that his people would be a mighty nation, Abraham believed and was one of God s most faithful servants. God used Moses to bring the people out from under the enslavement of Pharaoh. He brought them through the Red Sea, however the people still doubted that God was powerful enough to bring them to their own inheritance that waited for them. The people of Israel, just like people of today, were impatient. Everyone wants instant gratification. In my workplace, we have new employees that have worked there less than six months and feel they are entitled to the same things as the employees that have put in work for ten years and over. I feel this was one of the

For example, animals are born, taken care of and spend their life making sure they have enough food in order to survive and in the end, reproduce. Similarly, humans also possess a natural instinct to survive, consume, and reproduce in order to keep this on going cycle alive. The comparison between humans and animals at time may disturb certain people due to the simplification and degradation of the human race. However, it is this naturalistic view in life that certain individuals believe should not be shielded from the public in order to protect people and instead, believe it is necessary to educate as many people possible in the reasoning and acceptance of mankind s innate actions. The novel McTeague, written by Frank Norris, is a book that demonstrates an individual s natural behaviors and desires which continues to be carried out by people today just as it has been since the beginning of time. It is through McTeague, that Frank Norris illustrates mankind s naturalistic behavior that not only grabs the attention of the readers but infuriates the public as well. Benjamin Franklin Norris, otherwise known as Frank Norris was born on March 5, 1870 in Chicago, Illinois. Throughout his life, Frank Norris attended school in Paris, the University of California, and Harvard University which would later benefit him by establishing relationships which would

Night by Elie Wiesel is a non fiction novella based on true events of the Holocaust. Wiesel reflects on how the ignorance of jews affected their time in the concentration camps. He also shines a light on how Elie s relationship with his father Shlomo, reveals little that is right with human nature. Elie acknowledges how the struggle of faith reveals to the viewer what is wrong with human nature. Night shows us how the Jews were awakened by their own ignorance. From the beginning the jews chose to be ignorant about the german soldiers entering their homes. They remained ignorant of Moche the Beetles stories. Mrs. Schachter even tried multiple times to explain to them what type of dangers were coming. Hundred Year s War The Hundred Year s War was marked by one hundred seventeen continuous years of warfare between the Kingdom of France and the Kingdom of England, specifically a power struggle between Philip VI and Edward III. In the letter to the English, Joan of Arc warns the King of England to retract from war or expect to face physical violence. Despite Joan of Arc later downfall by treason, her letter as a servant of the French kingdom illustrates that nationalism grew at the expense of rigid international relations. In order to further explore the international animosity that grew, as well I plan to explore the hosting laws [that were established] whereby alien merchants would be kept under effective guard by being obliged to go to host with known and reliable Englishmen who would vouch for their good behavior while they were residing in England due to a fear of spies (Allmond,43). Lastly Roger Bacon in his letter, on the other hand, elaborates on how authors hid their secrets by means of special letters, devised by their own ingenuity and will, and different from those which are anywhere in use ending the once promoted admiration of military skills during the prominence of chivalry
  • 45. Security Is A Threat Of Security Introduction: Security is a central concern in the study of international relations (IR). Yet despite being the focus of considerable scrutiny, few agreed conceptions of security exist (Buzan, 1991; Huysmans, 2006; Terriff et al., 1991; McSweeney, 1999; Morgan, 1992; Croft 2012; Smith 2000). Buzan even goes as far to posit that the very conception of security is essentially contested and thus poses an unsolvable debate (Buzan, People, states and fear; Little, ideology and change, p35). These disagreements have created rifts in the security community over what can be threatened and indeed what can even be considered a threat. Part of the complexity to the subject is derived from the numerous opposing and often contradicting theoretical perspectives within international relations itself, of which security is a sub field (Terrif et al. 1991 Security studies today). This paper thereby seeks to trace the various theoretical strands of security studies with the hope of elucidating how and why Islam, and Muslims immigrants have been increasingly portrayed as a threat and Otherised in Britain. The Golden Age of Security Studies: For the latter half of the Twentieth Century, the dominant school of thought related to security was neo realism. Stemming from works produced by Hobbes, Thucydides, and Machiavelli, followers of the neo realists paradigm sought to see the world for what it was, rather than what they wished (Crawford 1991; Terrif et al., 1991). • 48. Examples Of Dysfunctional Relationships Dysfunctional People in Relationships Have you ever wondered why some people stay in a dysfunctional relationship? Dysfunctional relationships are relationships that do not perform their appropriate function. In The Yellow Wallpaper, The narrator is a doctor who although probably filled with good intentions, comes off seeming domineering. The narrator and her husband move into a manor for the summer to help her with her temporary nervous depression a slight hysterical tendency. Female patients were not to listened to by male patients, but because back then women were not in positions of power. The two main reasons why their relationship is dysfunctional is the way John treats the narrator and the fact that she has postpartum depression so she is not herself. The medical world has changed a lot since back then. For instance, there were no female doctors at that time. In the 1800 s, much was unknown in the terms of health. The mortality rate was high and life expectancy was low. Parents, rich or poor, had no way of combating the deadly diseases and infections that often took their children s lives. Deadly outbreaks of cholera ( an infection in the small intestine) to the flu were, understandably, a leading cause of death in children at the time. After all, children s immune systems are not fully developed and are therefore weaker in the terms of fighting off these fatal diseases. Medicine has advanced dramatically from the 1800 s to the present.Today, although not all children are healthy if any, foods available to them, the overall diet of children has improved. Also, with what is known about diseases and transmission, many deadly diseases are under control. Luckily, today it is much more common for people also have regular checkups with the doctor, from the time they are in the womb through adulthood. One reason why John and the narrator s relationship is dysfunctional is that John treats the narrator like a child. The relationship between the narrator and John is not overly loving, but unlike many people, I do not believe that John was intentionally trying to hurt her. John cares about his wife, he just refuses to admit that his own prescribed treatment may, in fact, be the wrong treatment. John
