Unforgettable Moment Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Unforgettable Moment" can be both a challenging and
rewarding experience. The difficulty lies in capturing a moment that holds personal significance
and effectively conveying its impact on your life. Selecting the right moment is crucial, as it
should be something that resonates with you deeply and can be explored in a meaningful way.
The challenge further intensifies when attempting to translate the emotional essence of that
moment into words. Finding the right balance between vivid descriptions and profound
reflections is essential to engage your readers. The task involves not only recounting the events
but also delving into the emotions, thoughts, and lessons learned from the experience.
Moreover, there's the challenge of maintaining a cohesive and well-structured narrative. The
essay should have a clear beginning, middle, and end, allowing the reader to follow the
unfolding of the unforgettable moment effortlessly. Crafting smooth transitions and maintaining
a consistent tone throughout can be demanding.
On the flip side, writing about an unforgettable moment offers an opportunity for self-discovery
and introspection. It allows you to revisit and reflect on a significant event, gaining insights into
your own growth and development. The process encourages a deeper understanding of the
chosen moment and its lasting impact on your life.
In conclusion, while composing an essay on an unforgettable moment can be a demanding task,
it provides a unique avenue for self-expression and introspection. The difficulty lies in skillfully
navigating the complexities of emotion, description, and structure. However, the reward comes
in the form of a piece that not only communicates a powerful experience but also offers a
glimpse into the writer's personal journey.

Rosa Parks And Ruby Parks Similarities
Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges are different from each other, but also similar. They
both stood up for something very important, they both thought that segregation and
racism were very bad. Rosa parks would not get up from her seat so that a white
person could sit down and she would have to stand up. Ruby Bridges went to
school that was full of white people and took all the segregation. They both showed
acts of courage and bravery. Rosa Parkshated racism and segregation. On December
1st, 1955 she refused to listen to the Bus Driver and she did not get up when he
told her to for a white man. This was a very courageous and very brave thing to do,
she was arrested and taken to the police station. She stated a boycott and black

Kansas Department Of Natural Resources
Not everyone is cut out to be a law enforcement officer, and even fewer, an Indiana
Conservation Officer... We are the law enforcement division of the Indiana
Department of Natural Resources. We provide a law enforcement presence for all
divisions and state properties within the Department of Natural Resources. As a
Conservation Officer, we have full policepowers within the State of Indiana, but
concentrate our efforts on the primary areas of fish and wildlife law enforcement.
This also includes boat patrol of all state and boundary waters, and patrol of many
state properties. We work weekends. We work alone at night, in the rural areas of
Indiana, often without the convenience of a backup law enforcement officer. We
patrol on the water in watercraft, recover drowning victims. We work in the various
Indiana weather conditions. A Conservation Officer gets cold, hot, wet, and hungry
during their course of duty, and may sit for hours waiting for a deer poacher to come
through at two o clock in the morning, or a thief stealing from our state properties.
We swear to protect the rights, property, and lives of the citizens of Indiana. We swear
to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the laws of our country. Indiana
Conservation Officers are the Thin Green Line standing between the criminal
elements that threaten our natural resources.

Analysis Of Benjamin Peters s The War
First, I would like to mention how a veteran who is now a pacifist, Benjamin Peters,
has also impacted me. Awhile back I came across a video series that Mennonite
Central Committee has on YouTube of him speaking at the youth convention in
Kansas City. I was curious to see how soldiers dealt with their faith and these videos
helpful for me to start to understand through one person s journey of reconciling with
what it meant to be a Christian in the military. Ben s story was a great resource that
helped me understand Ken s experience, so I ve referenced him a few times.
The desensitizing of soldiers was something that Ken kept going back to. The US
military tries to dehumanize the enemy so that it s possible for soldiers to kill on
command. Without this process many people would have a hard time pulling the
trigger. Ken referred to the shirt the military made him wear and how they would
make him yell blood to the enemy. Ben Peters talks about how the military has to
teach you to hate, dehumanize, and view people you are fighting as others. He goes
on to describe the process: We never refer to the Iraqis as Iraqis because it creates to
much cognitive dissonance...and complexity in the brain to extend humanity to the
enemy; so I have to see you as an ugly, dirty, stinky middle eastern animal and only
then can I kill you. (Mennonite Central Committee U.S. Ben s Story, Chapter 2: Boot
Camp ) This us versus them mentality is the complete opposite of what Shalom

The VRIO model of sustainability describes four characteristics value, rarity,
inimitability, and organization to exploit profits from which a company s
competitive advantage(s) arises. (Dyer, 2015, p.53) Columbia Sportswear creates
value in the fact that they take advantage of its long standing supplier relationships
to produce high quality products from around the world while controlling costs,
involving themselves in the supply chain early on rather than later which is typical
of the industry to get involved later on in the supply chain (Edgar Pro, 1998,
Sourcing as a Competitive Advantage). The company believes that their
relationship with suppliers increases flexibility and capacity in production and
allows the company for higher quality control while reducing costs. (Edgar Pro,
1998, Sourcing as a Competitive Advantage) Through this competitive advantage,
they are able to provide customers the value that is high quality outdoor sportswear
products that gives its brand the positive brand image as the producer of
dependable products with proven high quality. This value creation through their
products is critical for the company s survival because the company faces intense
rivalries. Rivalry, as identified as one of the five forces that shape a firm s potential
profitability, is a critical factor that impacts just about every aspects of corporate

Billy Goat Trail Essay
Billy Goat Trail The Billy Goat trail currently located in Maryland and is part of
the Great Falls. After getting familiar with the Billy Goat Trail you can see all the
evidence that a great geological phenomenon has occurred at that location. This
location went through several geographical changes that I will be mentioning along
with some of the evidence from the Billy Goat Trail. The Billy Goat Trail actually
started at the bottom of the Iaptus Ocean more than 460 million years ago. At the
bottom of the ocean the sand was being deposited on top of the mud making some
graded bedding that was caused by turbidity currents. The rock that was being formed
from graded bedding on the bottom of the ocean floor was the sedimentary rockcalled

The Acadian Orogeny not only started the mountain building in the region but also
brought volcanic activity along and this meant that the rocks in the region now where
under a great amount of pressure and extreme amount of heat.
Some of the evidence that I observed at the Billy Goat Trail from the Acadian
Orogeny was the Gneiss rocks that where hidden underneath the large boulders
where we stopped for lunch. The rock Gneiss requires high pressure and high heat
because the rock has U shaped banding due to the pressure and black and white
striations from the heat. (2) Another observation from the trip that supports the
Acadian Orogeny is the Lamprophyre dikes that cut across the Meta Greywacke
and are found in both sides of the Potomac River. The Lamprophyre dikes are
younger than the Meta Greywacke since they cut across them and since the dikes are
made of basalt they can be dated back about 360 million years ago thus linking them
to the Acadian Orogeny. Also the dikes weather out faster than the rock around them.
(3)
After the Acadian Orogeny the continent of North America collided with Africa
which was at the time of Pangea. Then the continents separated and opened up a new
ocean called the Atlantic Ocean but there was no evidence found in the region to
prove this geological event so the time missing is called an unconformity. During this
time the region was just experiencing weathering

founded by Alexander Graham with headquarters located at Whitacre Tower in
Dallas, Texas. They provide a variety of telecommunications services worldwide,
including wireless communication, local and long distance services, the internet, and

Apply the database development cycle to a given data set
Database development creates enterprise data modeling, which forms the range and
wide ranging contents of organizational databases. There are 5 phases in Database
Development Cycle: Planning; Analysis; Design; Implementation and Maintenance.
Planning
In Planning Stage, the organization needs to know why do they need the database;
what do they want the database to do; and how are they going to make the database.
This is also where the organization will create a relevant department to handle the

For example, one owner can have multiple properties or one property can have
multiple owners. From the relationship I have built, the data will be shown like in
figure 8.
The purpose of Relationship is to manage two tables together that shares related
attributes. This to know whether the relation is one to many, one to one or many to
many relationship. But from above image, it shows that all tables have one to many
relationship. To know how does many look like in relationship table, it will show

The purpose of Queries is to let the user to find for a specific data or end results such

The purpose for form is to enter, edit, and interact with multiple data. In forms you
also can create buttons such as, Add, Save, Delete, Previous Records and Next

have to enter data through table because the form itself has shown Add and Save

The purpose for Reports is to show the review records in systematized manner.

The Faerie Queene By Edmund Spenser Analysis
This week s lecture is on The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser. This lecture
focuses on Edmund Spenser s life, the sources and influences that created Book I of
The Faerie Queene , themes, devices, and meaning, purpose of Book I, and The
Legend of the Knight of the Red Cross . Edmund Spenserwas born in 1552 to a
modest family of modest means with a similar background such as Marlowe and
Shakespeare. Spenser was a well educated man much like Marlowe. Spenser spent
his first years of education at the Merchant Taylors School before attending
university. Edmund Spenser would go on to receive a Bachelor of Arts and a
Masters of Arts from Cambridge University. After university, Spenser would begin
a career as a minor civil servant where he was a personal secretary to men of power
and influence. His work would lead him to a few minor colonial government posts
in Ireland. Afterwards, Edmund Spenser was bestowed a castle and 3,000 acres of
land in Munster, Ireland. However, the castle was burned down into a rebel
uprising. This was due to Spenser being disrespectful of the Irish and their religion.
Edmund Spenser would then go on to be a poet. He was creative and adventurous
when it came to his work. His greatest works are The Shepheardes Calendar and The
Faerie Queene. Spenser became a great influence to several poets such as Milton and
other romantics. In the end, Edmund Spenser became one of the greatest English
poets of his time.
The Faerie Queene is similar to works of Beowulf because of its Anglo Saxon
epics. Also, Book I has a hint of classical and renaissance adventures. The Faerie
Queene is a perfect combination of themes and motifs that was already introduced
in other assignments. This makes Spenser s The Faerie Queene an epic poem. An
epic poem is described as a long narrative in elevated style while presenting
characters of high positions in adventures thus forming an organic whole through
their relation to a central heroic figure and their development of events that play an
important part to the history of a nation or race. The common characteristics of the
main character is that the hero is played by a person of importance such who would
have a historical or legendary significance. The
The Reexaminations Of Benjamin Franklin And Inventions
In my previous submission of Benjamin Franklin s diary entry of the time in his
life when the construction of the lighting rod was being published in Poor Richard
s Almanack, I put myself in the year 1752/1753 in Bens shoes. I was Benjamin
Franklin in the 18th century. In Marc Arkins, Big Ben , he speaks of Franklin s
insatiable curiosity s and inventions. This is where in the fifth line of Part 1: I begin
discussing how Ben came upon the thought of electricity. He writes his friend Peter
Collison, and describes to him his curiosity of the electrical tube that he had sent
him as a gift. It is there, I am describing the insatiable curiosity that Arkins speaks
of. I feel I definitely used this piece to help me set the tone for my essay.... Show

During my essay as Benjamin Franklin, I was able to discuss the reexaminations of
Franklins invention and Modern observations versus Franklins ideas on lightning
protection, thanks to Moore, Aulich, and Risons piece A Modern Assessment of
Benjamin Franklin s Lightning Rods. Page one on the last three lines Benjamin
speaks of his thoughts on how he was going to invent the lightning rod. He states, I
came across this reason of towns, churches, houses and ships being fruitfully
grappled from the stroke of lightning by their means; for if, the tops of the vanes,
weathercocks, spires or masts, or spindles of churches, instead of the round balls
of metal or wood, which are commonly placed on top, there should be put 8 or 10
feet in length a rod of iron. To help with my wording during this piece (even though
I still felt it quite tricky) I read an article on The King s English: Eighteenth Century

of all, they were stratified societies. Their relative social positions were reflected by
the ways in which people interacted with one another. Not only when it was said, but

Children Of A Child Protection Process Essay
There are a number of different organisations that may be involved when a young
person or child has been abused or harmed. This includes health visitors, GP s, the
police, schools, the NSPCC, psychologists, school nurses and probation workers.
Health visitors have a vital role in protecting children from harm and abuse
because they are one of the first to recognise children who are likely to be abused
or neglected. They play a big part in all stages of a child protection process
including case reviews. They support and guide parents of young children, provide
developmental checks on children under the age of five, have contact with many
multi agencies and they support the work of the Local Safeguarding Children s
Board (LSCB). They are trained to a high level to recognise any risks that the child
might be in and also they will visit the children at home. They are in a position to
gather information from very early on and therefore this enables them to start the
process quite quickly when any signs or concerns of abuse or neglect are detected.
The health visitor will need to have ongoing contact with the family if abuse or
neglect is suspected. Health visitors should use their own judgement on when to
share information with other agencies.
The role of a General Practitioner is to maintain their skills in recognising if a child is
being abused or neglected. They need to follow all correct procedures if abuse or
neglect is suspected. All GP s should have regular training and
The Issue Of Safety And Gun Control
Have you ever thought about the fact that in America, an 18 year old is old enough
to buy a gun, but not a beer? The concern of a gun crime being committed by a
young man/woman is high, but what if they want to go hunting with their father?
It doesn t seem so bad now. Some people may think that our President isn t effective
enough, but there are too many people supporting each side for the President to
make a large, yet fair decision. There may be two sides to the story, but what is the
right option? This question of safety and gun control has become part of an on
going controversy due to views on The Constitution, the national gun control laws, as
well as the fact that most Americans would like an updated background checking
system. The discussions about citizens rights to bear arms go back to ancient times.
Political theorists from ancient Rome, John Locke of England, and Jean Jacques
Rousseau of France viewed the possession of arms as a sign of personal freedom and
a crucial element of government. The precise meaning and purpose of the Second
Amendment has been an issue of major controversy. Gun control supporters argue
that when the Second Amendment was adopted in 1791, each state enabled a militia,
composed of ordinary citizens who served as part time soldiers. Fearing that the
federal government would use its army to force its will on the states, the authors of
the Second Amendment intended to protect the state militias right to bear arms. As
stated in modern times

Lennie, being the man that he is, attracts Curley to a fight. Lennie keeps saying no,
but Curley won t listen, and he just keeps punching and punching. Finally, Lennie
decides to do something and breaks his hand. Talking to George now, he is
disappointed in himself. Since George was watching this whole thing, he knows that
Lennie didn t do anything wrong, but that doesn t occur to Lennie. He still wants
confirmation from George that he is still in the clear. From the question that Lennie

so that he can one day tend the rabbits. He is truly trying to pursue his goal of that
small house with many rabbits. Since Curley attacked him, there was nothing that...

Once George finds him first, he decides it would be best if Lennie died, and so he
shoots him in the back of the head where he will feel no pain. George and Lennie
being the best of friends, it is surprising George decides to kill his mate. In a way, it
makes sense. If the others were to catch Lennie first, then Curley would have most
likely tortured or killed Lennie in a very painful way. During all this, George
would have to watch without being able to do anything. Lennie made the mistake,
and he will have to pay for it no matter what. The best way to quickly end it is to
kill him painlessly when he is happy. This stops their goal of living together in a
small house. George will either have to complete that dream himself or choose
another companion. Either way, it is a loss for George and for Lennie. In a way,
this may be the best for George. Now he doesn t have to deal with a person who is
constantly messing up and is hard to deal with. This act of deciding to kill Lennie
is an epiphany. This is because, before this, George and Lennie were really close,
but after, George had to go through the process of deciding to kill Lennie. The
moment when George realizes that the best situation for his friend is for George to
kill him is harsh. George did the best for Lennie, and that is what

Why am I having this test? The 17 ketosteroid test is a test used to help diagnose
adrenal problems, including adrenal tumors and adrenal enlargement
(hyperplasia). What is being tested? In this test, the level of the 17 ketosteroid
hormone in urine is measured. This hormone is the breakdown product of the
male sex hormone and other hormones that are released by the adrenal cortex.
What kind of sample is taken? Your urine will be collected for a 24 hour period of
time. How do I collect samples at home? You will be asked to collect and store all
of your urine for 24 hours. You will be provided with a container to store your urine.
When collecting a urine sample at home, make sure you: Use supplies and

were mainly from agricultural soil management (263.70 MMT CO2 Eq.) with minor
emissions from manure management (17.30 MMT CO2 Eq.) and field burning of
agricultural residues (0.10 MMT CO2 Eq.) (IPCC, 2013; EPA, 2015). On the

Merit 1 – Compare and Contrast Two Businesses
Merit 1 Compare and Contrast two businesses
For this assignment I am going to compare and contrast two selected businesses.
I will concentrate on their ownership and their aims and objectives.
My first business is Tesco the biggest retail company in Britain. My second business
is McDonald s one of the largest franchise fast food outlets in the world.
The aim of McDonald s is to serve good food in a friendly and fun environment and
to provide good returns to their share holders. So the purpose of McDonald s is to
satisfy their customer with high quality of food, quick service and value for money.

A plc has more chance to become successfully. The company produce goods at lower
unit cost and has bulk purchasing and cheaper borrowing.
Another advantage of a franchise is that you use a recognized business name and
reputation also the franchise benefit from advertising or promoting. The franchise has
to share all the profit with the franchisor while Tesco which is a public limited
company have to share their profit between a great numbers of people. Shares can
be advertised and sold through the stock exchange. Another advantage of a public
limited company it has more chance to become successful because they have
thousand people who working for it, with many skills, idea and experiences.
Franchisee is different from a public limited company has it is dependent on the
franchisor skills. If the franchisor goes out of business or gets a bad reputation, this
will cause problems in the business.
One of the key similarities between these two types of ownership is liability. The
franchise and public limited company have limited liability. This means protections
of their shareholder from losing their personal finances if the company goes
bankrupt. If the company fail they only lose their invested money in the business. If
business wants to become a limited liability can it be complicated and expensive to
set the business, decisions can take longer and it takes a lot of legal requirements.
McDonald s is a large company because it is run as a franchise so
Horror and Suspense in Bierce s Work Essay
Horror and Suspense in Bierce s Work
A novel is divided into different chapters and usually has different plots to focus on.
In a novel there are lots of characters and the time scale is constantly changing
throughout. Because there is more than one theme and there are different messages
coming across of combined themes, makes the novel denser and more complicated to
understand and to take in all the description.
Ambrose Bierce wrote a lot of short stories and some we have studied and analysed.
In a short story there is usually only one plot and the event usually carries on in the
same setting. There are usually a couple of characters and one hidden message which
makes the short stories more to the point and very direct. ... Show more content on

I found that the stories are frightening because they are more into psychological
horror. Bierce s stories make us think of the supernatural and things that cannot be
rationalised and things that we cannot see or understand. The horror and suspense
and things that are not tangible he creates in an incredible way through his use of
characters and the establishing atmosphere.
The language used by Bierce is very effective and highly descriptive as he uses a
different for of English language giving every last detail. This is because he wrote
this in the nineteen hundreds and the
English he writes seems like a whole different language to us.
Staley Fleming s Hallucination, is a very effective piece of writing as Bierce tends
to create a sense of horror and suspense and keeps it going to the very end of the
story. What I like about this short story is the way Staley Fleming thinks he is loony
from the very start but the physician tends to think that it is guilt coming back on him
as he assumes Staley Fleming murdered Atwell Barton, a great enemy of
Staley s, and that this dog that appears to him is the loyal dog of
Atwell Barton s. At the end of the story it states that when the man was dead an
examination disclosed the unmistakable marks of animal s fangs. I found this very
interesting and very frightening as there was no animal in the room and the physician
said, I should have thought this, believing
Eastern Orthodoxy And Roman Catholicism
Important to realize, that there are common grounds that allows an interfaith
understanding to take place between Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism. To
emphasize, one doctrine that both the Eastern and Roman Christians agree is on the
seven Sacraments in order to obtain union with God; the seven Sacraments are
Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharistor Communion, Holy Orders, Marriage, penance,
and Holy Unction. Given that, Dr. James P. Eckman explained that Baptism,
however, is the primary sacrament for everything in the church flows out of the
waters of baptism: the remission of sin and life eternal. [4] For both the East and the
West churches baptism is necessary for the salvation of the adults and childs. Another
similarity of interfaith

she is super awkward, does not know how to make a good conversation. Scout
starts to notice that especially. If you cannot talk to your supposedly mother figure,
then what is the point. Atticus says how she needs more feminine around the
house saying she is getting older so she needs advice on clothes and boys. With
Alexandria I feel scout will not get that. They mention how Alexandria fits in to
Maycomb really well, but does not fit in with Scout and Jem. Now Calpurnia the
kids were always exited to see her, as with Alexandria they did not want her to live
with them. Alexandria thinks Calpurnia is too harsh on the children, but kids need
discipline sometimes. In the end they always say how they need Calpurnia, so it is
an obvious Calpurnia is the mother figure Scout and Jem
How Did Charlemagne Build An Empire
Charlemagne was born around 742 748. Charlemagne s youth suggests that he
received practically training for leadership by participating in the political, social,
and military activities associated with his father court. After his father s death he
became emperor and known as Charles the Great. Also he expanded his kingdom.
After his expansion of the kingdom he, died and died of with succession.
Charlemagne as emperor was a zealous defender of Christianity. He gave money and
land to the Christian church and protected the popes. To acknowledge Charlemagne
s power and reinforce his relationship with the church. On December 25,800, Pope
Leo III crowned Charlemagne emperor of the Romans. As emperor, Charlemagne
proved to be a talented diplomat and able administrator of the vast area he
controlled. He encouraged the Carolingian Renaissance to promote education a
period of renewed emphasis on scholarship and culture. With the economy and
religious reforms and driving force behind the Carolingian miniscule, a standardized
form of writing that became a basis for modern European printed alphabets.

Aachen. His palaces had schools and recruited the best teachers in the land. ... Show

To carry out this mission, he spent the majority of his reign engaged in military
campaigns. After becoming king he soon conquered the Lombards, the Avars and
also Bavari. He waged a bloody, three decades long series of battles against the
Saxons, a Germanic tribe of pagan worshipers , and earned a reputation for
ruthlessness. Massacre of Verden, Charlemagne reportedly ordered the slaughter od
some 4,500 Saxons in 782. Eventually he forced the Saxons to convert to Christianity,
and declared that anyone who didn t get baptized or follow other Christian traditions

The Pros And Cons Of Social Movement
The discontentment of people against certain policies of government no doubt may
lead to all forms of grievances, which may be expressed or unexpressed. Where it is
expressed, it takes the forms of protest such as strikes and demonstrations; which are
either organized or unorganized. Unorganized behaviors are mostly spontaneous
which usually end without any structure that could ensure an enduring relationship.
Social movementon the other hand refers to an organized group of people with the
major goal of bringing about a purposive change in the society. The major targets are
the societal and/ or governmental policies, which are considered repugnant and
detrimental to the generality of the people or a cross section of the society.
For example, the various feminist groups across the globe ... Show more content on

They also seek changes in a particular area that is of interest to them. The reformative
social movements are out to advocate for reforms that would benefit the whole
society. At times they could also seek the maintenance of the existing pattern where is
it envisaged that a change maybe inimical to their growth and development. They are
therefore seen as progressive as they do not seek a total disruption of the system but
operate within the existing system.
The alternative social movement identified by Aberle (1966:42) poses no serious
threat as it only narrow itself to a small part of the population. The changes they
social seek are very limited. This social movement concerns itself primarily with
specific individuals such as those within sexually active population age bracket. For
example, they seek a change in their sexual behavior especially as it relates to birth
control. Resistance movements= bear close semblance to the counter movements as
it concern itself with building resistance to certain social, cultural and economic

Red Hunting Hat Analysis
Catcher in the Rye Motif In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger,
misunderstood protagonist Holden Caulfield retells his experiences as a teenager
in New York City from within rehabilitation. A recurring motif within the novel is
Holden s red hunting cap. Holden s red hunting hat is a symbol of protection and
also symbolizes Holden s independence and his desire to be different from
everyone around him. Salinger uses Holden s red hunting hat to show how Holden
tries to differentiate himself from the phony or fake people he seems to meet so
often. An example of this is when Holden is in his dorm room at Pencey with
Ackley and Stradlater when Ackley finds Holden s red hunting cap and starts
questioning him about it. That s a dear shooting hat. Like hell it is. I took it off
and looked at it. I sort of closed one eye, like I was taking aim at it. This is a people
shooting hat, I said. I shoot people in this hat. (Salinger, 26). In this passage,
Holden is mentally targeting people as if his hunting hat would allow him to shoot
other people. While Holden is at Pencey, he manages to alienate a majority of the
school after losing the team s equipment, and doesn t have many friends there with
the small exception of Stradlater and Ackley with whom he is friendly with. The
people at Pencey, according to Holden, are all fakes and phonies and Holden
imagined himself being able to rid himself of them whilst donning his red hunting hat.
After Holden goes to
Statement Of Ford Motor Company Income Statement
Income Statement Ford Motor Company The income statement is one of three
financial statements that stock investors need to become familiar with (the other
two are balance sheet and cash flow statement) (Loth, 2017). The income statement
is created of four sections: sales or revenue, cost of goods or services sold,
expenses, and net profit/loses. Sales/revenues is how much revenue the company
brought in by selling its products or services. Cost of goods/services sold is how
much the company spent to purchase or produce the products or services it sold.
Expenses is how much the company spent to keep the doors of the business open.
Essentially, this includes all expenses except those spent specifically on the cost of
goods or services sold. Net Profit or Loss: the bottom line that tells whether the
company made a profit or operated at a loss (Epstein,2014). This might lead you to
the question of what the purpose of the income statementis? Once you understand the
income statement you will understand how well a company is doing or not doing. In
this paper, it will analyze the income statement of Ford Motor companyfrom
December 2010 2012.
Purpose of an Income Statement The purpose of an income statement is to allow
companies, investors, accountants, and auditors to analyze the key and pertinent
items that lead to profit or loss from a different perspective by calculating each
number on the income statement as a percentage. This allows for an easier
Theme Of Shiloh By Bobbie Ann Mason
Themes within ShilohWithin the story Shiloh by Bobbie Ann Mason, the three main
reoccurring themes are self fulfillment, independence, and marriage. From these
themes, a variety of symbols emerge to demonstrate why both Leroy and Norma
Jean have their own particular problems. There are multiple symbols that relate to
these themes. One of these symbols is the log cabin that relates to self fulfillment.
Secondly, Norma Jean takes steps and changes her life style to live independently.
Lastly, the Civil War relates to the theme of hardships in a marriage. The short story

Themes in Frankenstein Essay
Frankenstein deals with two main social concerns, the level of moral
responsibility that a creator possesses in relation to his creation, as well as the
issue of the moral boundaries that exists in one s quest for knowledge, including
the fine line between good and bad knowledge, The novel also deals with two main
human concerns, which include a person s goals or aspirations as well as the issue
of pride and its affect on a person.
Mary Shelley highlights the issue of moral responsibility by the fact that Frankenstein
neglects the issue at first, but then realises its importance. Frankenstein completely
ignores his moral responsibility in relation to his work initially, blinded by his
emotions, but once he realised that he had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bad knowledge in contrast, is knowledge that is single minded, driven by personal
gain, and possesses very little constraints.
Pride is probably the most important human issue that Mary Shelley explores, with
Frankenstein s search for knowledge being more a quest for glory than one that
was going to genuinely benefit society. A new species would bless me as it creator
and sourceВ…NO father could claim the gratitude of his child so completely as I
should deserve theirs. Frankenstein s pride is blatantly displayed, as he disregards,
his family, friends and his environment to spend day and night creating the creature,
only to become conscious of the fact that it s a monster. His pride is further shown
by the fact that he let s an innocent woman die just to preserve his reputation by not
speaking out. The way pride is portrayed in the novel indicates that society back then
was heavily based on ones reputation and prestige.
Goals or aspirations is closely tied in with the other issues discussed earlier, in that
both Frankenstein and Walton seek glory, but both realise, Frankenstein the hard
way that glory comes at a price, and risks need to be taken in order to achieve one s
goal, but its up to that person to decide where the risk is too great. This issue does
reflect the values of Shelley s society, in that the three main
Federalism In Australia Summary
In the article, Federalism in Australian Constitutional interpretation: signs of
reinvigoration? , Chordia and Lynch explore the constitutional interpretative approach
used by the majority in Amalgamated Society of Engineers v Adelaide Steamship Co
Ltd (1920). The article discusses the key factors in the majority s decision in
Engineers that disadvantaged the states by significantly increasing the power of the
Commonwealth.
Tension between the principles of responsible government and federalism was
anticipated by the framers of the constitution, predicting that the one of the two will
eventually cancel the other one out. This tension surfaced in the majorities decision
in Engineers and is explored using the historical evidence of the framers intentions,
the ideas that influenced them, and Justice Gageler s critique of the Engineers
decision. Chordia and Lynch argue that the majorities decision in Engineers focused
on responsible government, while completely ignoring the principles of Federalism.
This is evident in the delivery of the majorities decision, declaring that the two
fundamental features of the Australian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, Gageler argues that the people of the Commonwealth and the people of the
states are members of a unified sovereign nation rather than members of opposing
groups. As such, the principles of responsible government hold that the laws of the
commonwealth hold government accountable to a unified Crown and to the
Australian people. The third argument is that federalism should only function within
situations that directly involve an interference between the commonwealth and the
states. In particular, this third argument corresponds with the nationalist model of
federation that supports a single unified head of

In the present study, potential predictors of health behaviors from Commonsense Self
Regulating Model and Trastheoretical Model were tested for connections between
nutrition and physical activity and behaviors after being diagnosed with breast cancer
and prostate cancer. Hypothesis One, predicted that better guidelines for physical
activity and nutrition would be associated with Commonsense Self Regulation
Model, this includes higher personal control, higher treatment control, and lower
emotional representations. Hypothesis Two, predicted that more physical activity and
better nutritional adherence would be associated with Transtheoretical Model. People
who participated in this study, were previously diagnosed with breast or prostate
cancer. They were either receiving treatment or just finished. This was because the
research had to be measured within the last seven days via the International Physical
Activity Questionnaire, and this was in concordance with national dietary guidelines.
After being approved by the university, the Human Research Ethics Committee of
breast cancer and prostate cancer supported groups in South East Queensland,
Northern New South Wales, and Australia. The people were then contacted via email
and phone to follow up on participation. Survivors could then either choose an in

Rene Descartes Third Meditation Summary
In Rene Descartes Third Meditation, his purpose is to prove whether God exists,
and if so then whether or not God is a deceiver. This mediation allows us to be sure
that when we perceive things there is no way that they could be wrong. Descartes
believed that God created our mind and situated us in this world, with this being said,
God should have given you a mindthat reaches true conclusions about the world on
each and every occasion. Your mind isn t incapable of making mistakes or being
wrong. Basically, Descartes is trying to prove that God wouldn t have given you a
mind that would leave you to false beliefs about the world for the simple fact that
that would make God a deceiver. Therefore, Descartes thinks that God created us
with minds that have the capacity to attain true beliefs about the world. We are
neither infallible nor hopelessly trapped by falsehood. Rather, we are somewhere in
between: We can reach true beliefs if we are careful about how we use the minds that
God bestowed upon us. He shows that the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By Descartes thought, if you carefully inspect the beliefs to make sure that they are
clear and distinct, then we could be absolutely certain that the beliefs are correct.
Descartes uses the concept of clear and distinct ideas to prove a few different
arguments. A clear and distinct idea is an idea that you have in your conscious
mind of something that feels so completely true and utterly real that you can t
possibly doubt it. The idea of God, somewhat who is perfect, was clear and distinct
to Descartes, but just because he believes this is true does not necessarily mean it is
true. Because of this, he goes about trying to show that the presence of clear and
distinct ideas in our conscious mind proves that God does exist. Clear and distinct
ideas are undoubtly very important for Descartes, they allow him to define what it is

The young woman opened up her door and immediately felt that sense of uneasiness

Essay on Concentration Camps
A concentration camp is where prisoners of war, enemy aliens, and political
prisoners are detained and confined, typically under harsh conditions, or place or
situation characterized by extremely harsh conditions. The first concentration camps
were established in 1933 for confinement of opponents of the Nazi Party. The
supposed opposition soon included all Jews, Gypsies, and certain other groups. By
1939 there were six camps: Dachau, Sachsenhausen, Buchenwald, Mauthausen,

During these early days the Russians received more abuse than the Polish prisoners
because they were more feared for their military might. They were looked upon by

the 12,000 prisoners who were sent to Birkenau in 1941, only 150 survived to the

Differences in Slave Laws in Colonial Brazil and Colonial...
Differences in slave laws in British North America and Colonial Brazil Slavery as it
existed in colonial Brazil contained interesting points of comparison and contrast with
the slave system existing in British North America. The slaves in both areas had been
left with very little opportunity in which he could develop as a person. The degree to
which the individual rightsof the slave were either protected or suppressed provides a
clearer insight to the differences between North American and Brazilian slavery. The
laws also differed greatly between the two areas and have been placed into three
categories: term of servitude, police and disciplinary powers, and property and other
civil rights. Point One: In both systems of slavery,... Show more content on

The law also made a more concerted attempt to protect the slave against mistreatment
by his master. Mistreatment of a slave could lead both to the freedom of the slave
and to the imprisoning of the master. Point Three: The slave in British North America
could not own property and had absolutely no civil rights. The law clearly stated
that he could neither own, inherit, nor will property, couldn t engage in buying or
selling anything except at the pleasure of his master. In contrast, the slave in Brazil
could own property, could engage in buying and selling, and was also guaranteed
Sundays, holidays, and other times which to work for his own advancement. In
short, the law implied that while the master could own a man s labor, he could not
own the man as a person. In conclusion, it is not easy to make a comparison
between the two slave systems. Brazilian slave masters often evaded the law and
could be exceedingly brutal and British North American masters were often much
more lenient than the law required. Conditions were usually more severe in Brazil
and this may have worsened the actual material situation of the Brazilian slave. In
North America the slave was treated like a thing and in Brazil there was some
attempt to treat him as a man. This fact made a profound difference in the way the
two systems affected the slave as an individual and in the way in which they
impinged upon the development of his
The Wrong Direction
Religion has convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being:
what God wants and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter).
Religion, even though there are billions of followers, is based solely on what just a
few important religious characters have said. For instance, Islamwas started by a man
named Mohammed, who communicated with Godand became a prophet. Nobody saw
him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however, when Mohammed
came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the
message, people who had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new
religion: Islam. Over the course of Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The
Message , many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife.
When a Christian dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other
again when they die, based on the concept that there is a Heaven, where all
Christians go (given they prayed for forgiveness and didn t commit any high level
crimes, such as murder). However, if that person disobeyed the Christian rules,
that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific element of religion
is one of the main reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for Christians,
and similar environments in other religions. However, this isn t the only way the
hope of religion is used. When a religious individual prays, many times they will
ask a favor of God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or Please
God, help me lose weight . This is where I personally begin to have problems rather
than focusing on achieving something personally, such as studying and working
hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose weight, prayer is commonly
used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with virtually no work put
in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to God it will
go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated
by the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes
that God is simply testing one s faith. I would
Characteristics Of A Hero In Beowulf
It is hard to be a hero, just have to be selfless and put the needs or well being of
others ahead of yourself own. Heroes also usually present themselves in times of
need when nobody else does, which makes them stand out, because they are selfless
and put other people ahead of themselves. Beowulf showed many signs of being a
heroand also showed that he was selfless. A modern day hero that could be related to
Beowulf who showed the same heroic traits is Martin Luther King JR.
One quality that a hero must possess is that they need to be selfless. They need to
be selfless because they need to put other people before themselves. Beowulf was a
hero and this quote shows how he is selfless when he volunteered to go help out
Hrothgar and protect everyone; Raffell writes, In his far off home Beowulf, Higlac
s follower and the strongest of the Geats greater and stronger than anyone
anywhere in this world heard how Grendel filled nights with horror and quickly
commanded a boat fitted out, proclaiming that he d go to that famous king, would
sail across the sea to Hrothgar, now when help was needed (23). The main thing
that makes a hero is that they will go out of their way to help other people. Heroes
need to present themselves in times of need and that is not something selfish people
would usually do. They present themselves in times of need and sometimes even
risk their lives to save other people. Someone cannot be selfish and be a hero because
sure they could help people and do

The Purpose of Propaganda in Today s Society
Propaganda in today s society serves the same purpose as it did many years ago, and
that purpose is to promote a fitting solution to a problem or to sell an idea or item.
There are various types of propaganda in the world. The main way that propaganda
is advertised would be the media. Whether it be television, newspapers, radio etc . the
promoter advertiser will always find a way to promote their idea or product. You also
have seven basic sections or types of propaganda; transfer, testimonial, glittering
generalities, plain folks, bandwagon, name calling and card stacking. Each of these
is used in propaganda whether it is current and modern art forms such as Nikeв„ў
commercials or from 100 years ago in political cartoons. Each of the seven types of
propaganda differs and is unique in their its own way. Propaganda is, has always
been, and shall continue to be, a huge part of the advertising world of society.
Transfer is a type of propaganda in which the media utilizes a person or object that
people find good natured or intriguing, and they associate the person or object with
a product. In this form of propaganda, symbols are constantly being utilized. Most
political campaign promotion posters contain the transfer category. Some ads such
as icy hot and cleaning products use well known people or well known people s
names to promote their product. Take Shaquille O Neal s commercials for the Icy
Hot patches for example. People pay attention to the ad because they see that

The Inspector s style of interrogation could be considered as rather unorthodox. He
does not show the photograph of the young woman (Eva Smith / Daisy Renton) to
more than one person at any time, this casts doubts about whether he is showing
everyone the same photograph. Mr. Birling does not seem phased by the arrival of
the Inspector. He uses long sentences and throws his weight around mentioning his
connections and status often in an attempt to intimidate the Inspector. The
Inspector uses short sentences and phrases in response to Birlings, this shows that
he is not at all phased and he remains focused on the task at hand.

The exits during the play allow the characters to have private discussions. An
example of this is when the Inspector and Eric leave Sheila and Gerald alone, in
order to talk further about the character Daisy Renton who it is clear that Gerald

that the Inspector wields, it is clear that she had a memory of the woman. A memory
that is so powerful it causes her to give out a cry and run from the room, this
increases the dramatic tension in the play, as we do not yet know what her connection

Four Components Of Baddeley s Working Memory Model
People rely on incoming information and stored information to perform their
everyday functions. However, humans have a natural capacity of how much
information they can attain. We are unable to store all of our acquired information
without different systems that organize our information. Working memory is one of
these systems that temporarily holds and manages information for cognitive
processing (119). Baddeley s working memorymodel is made up of four components
that allow for temporary information to be stored (109). The central executive directs
the flow of information. It functions more with delegating the way resources are used
in cognitive tasks. The central executive also coordinates information from the person
s current environment with retrieval of their prior information (119). The
phonological loop is used to carry out rehearsed maintained verbal material. It plays
an important role in the acquisition of vocabulary, learning how to read, and
comprehending language. The visuospatial sketchpad maintains material through
visualization. The visuospatial sketchpad creates and manages our mental images.
The episodic buffer is a temporary system that connects information from long term
memoryto working memory. Mnemonicdevices are techniques people can use to help
improve their ability to remember something. There are various types of mnemonic

Of Abraham Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln And The President
Of...
War is chaos and the devil itself. It represents the cruelty and darkness in the
human heart. In 1861, a Civil War broke out between the North and the South. A
soldier who served in the Civil War said in a letter to his parents, Many became ill
from exposure and starvation, and were left on the road. ( Letters and Diaries, 1862)
The war continued for four years and was considered by historians as the most
devastating war the United Stateshas witnessed. Nonetheless, the Civil War produced
two of the most brilliant minds in American history: Abraham Lincolnand Nathan
Bedford Forrest. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of
America, served as the main strategist for the North during the Civil War and
Nathan Bedford Forrest was a Lieutenant General in the Confederate Army. Both
Lincoln and Forrest came from humble origins and worked their way to success.
However, Lincoln gained his position as a President by using his tact and
diplomacy although he was not appreciated for his clever decisions and authority
while Forrest became a General through aggression and was praised by the South as
a great tactician and a war hero. Abraham Lincoln s endeavor and success in granting
equal rights for African American will remain forever in the heart of later generations.
First, Abraham Lincoln and Nathan Bedford Forrest were not blessed with fortune
and opportunity but they achieved their goals through perseverance and great effort.
Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Solid Waste
2. METHODS
The main technological choices available for processing/ treatment and disposal of
solid waste are composting, vermicomposting, anaerobic digestion/ biomethanation,
incineration, gasification and pyrolysis, plasma pyrolysis, production of Refuse
Derived Fuel (RDF), also called as pelletization and sanitary landfilling/landfill gas
recovery. Not all technologies are equally good. Each one of them has benefits and
disadvantages.
2.1 COMPOSTING :
Composting is a technology known in India since times immemorial. Composting is
the decomposition of organic matter by microorganism in warm, moist, aerobic and
anaerobic environment. Farmers have been using compost made out of cow dung and
other agro waste. The compost made out of urban heterogeneous waste is found to
be of higher nutrient value as compared to the compost made out of cow dung and
agro waste. Composting of Solid Waste is, therefore, the most simple and cost
effective technology for treating the organic fraction of solid waste. Full scale
commercially viable composting technology is already demonstrated in India and is
in use in several cities and towns. Its application to farm land, tea gardens, fruit
orchards or its use as soil conditioner in parks, gardens, agricultural lands, etc., is
however, limited on account of poor promoting.
Main benefits of composting include improvement in soil texture and augmenting of
micronutrient deficiencies. It also increases moisture holding capacity of the soil and
The Independence Of Meta Cinema And Authorship
Chapter 2
This chapter will examine the independence of meta cinema and authorship. As
Valck and Hagener stated in An Introduction to Cinephilia, auteurisim a cinematic
practice set up due to the prominence of the film director emerges from passionate
attendance and critiques on films in Cahiers du Cin?ma, and further aims to
cultivate cinematic literacy among the audience (Valck and Hagener, 1999). Thus,
auteurist concerns can be summarised as appealing to the articulation and reception
of filmmakers? self reflexivity. David Bordwell has indicated in his analysis on
European art cinema that the stress of authorship covers the distinct style of art
cinema practices (Bordwell, 1979). In his essay, representative art films are
introduced as models conveying authorial marks, among which are Day for Night
(La Nuit Am?ricaine, Truffaut, 1973) and 8 ? (Fellini, 1963). In order to
demonstrate this, I will take in this chapter these two films together with Tout Va
Bien (Godard and Gorin, 1972) as illustration. Determined by Bordwell as adversary
to art cinema, the third reflexive work balances the discussion on the projection of
auteurism in meta cinema as an interrogating approach. All examples reflect the
process of filmmaking and embody or question the auteurist concerns on directors?
individuality and the uniqueness of cinema as an art. These concerns have been
stated in film critiques and have embraced post war European cinema. First coined by
Fran?ois Truffaut as
Essay about Mary Paul s Letters
Essay Assignment: Market Revolution
During the nineteenth century, America went through a number of social, economic
and political changes. Revolutions in manufacturing and commerce led to substantial
economic growth. Several cultural movements reformed American society. Mary
Paul, once just a normal girl from Vermont, led a life that was shaped by the changes
of the 1800 s. The information gathered from Mary Paul s letters to her father make it
clear that Mary s life experiences turned her into anything but an average woman.
However, in the scope of the economic and cultural reforms of the nineteenth century,
Mary Paul represents the average American. Before the Marketing Revolution,
women had a very limited role in society. They ... Show more content on

Eventually, Mary Paul s pursuit of success and happiness takes her in a different
direction. She begins to show dissatisfaction with Lowell after working there for
only a month. She describes the dangers of working at the mill, one girl fell down
and broke her neck... The same day a man was killed by cars. Another had nearly
all of his ribs broken. Another was nearly killed by falling down and having a bale
of cotton fall on him. Safety was one reason that Mary began to have doubts about
working at Lowell. She also writes, I am very tired tonight... If I thought I could
make a decent living at C[laremont] I would come back there. The aspects of
working at Lowell that once fascinated Mary Paul no longer fit her needs and desires.
In a fashion similar to how the Market Revolution changed her definitions of
happiness and success, a new revolution soon changed these definitions again. During
the nineteenth century several cultural reforms occurred in America. Some
movement encouraged individualism, while others encouraged communalism. In
general, these movements served to counter the growth of capitalism during the
Marketing Revolution. Many reformers set up utopian societies, in which they
would lead their reformed lives. Charles Fourier was a reformed who was against the
system of labor for wages. In response to the capitalist waged labor, he created
groups called phalanxes. The members
Apathetic Nature In The Tempest
In Shakespeare s play, the Tempest, there are several actions and descriptions that
reveal insight into the personalities of each character. One of the most potent tools
used in the play is noise. Noise, and the perception of noise sheds, a different light on
the subtleties of each character. It reveals characteristics that contradict their written
descriptions and often provides insight into the mindset of the characters. Through
the use of harsh sounds and solemn music, Prosperoreveals his apathetic nature
towards the Europeans. This apathetic nature is a result of selfishness because
Prospero wants his daughter wed. In the beginning, he commands Ariel to conjure a
tempest upon the ship. The are several terrifying noises that associate with this
violent storm. These include the sounds of winds, the splashing water, the roaring
thunder, and in this case the splitting of wood. According to one of the mariners, We
split, we split (1.1.57)! The sounds insue panic among the passengers and hints at
their possible death. The chaotic sounds caused by a raging storm is the method in
which Prospero psychologically manipulates the Europeans. Besides manipulation,
the storm acts as a way of releasing trapped anger towards the men on the ship.
Prospero did not harm any of the Europeans, but anger and apathy are evident
because he commands his daughter tell you piteous heart/There s no harm done
(1.2.13 14).
Prospero also abuses the power of Ariel to encourage betrayal among the

Introduction
This situation analysis is based on the Landscapes r us business. In this report we will

SWOT analysis, the target market and a customer and client analysis,
Uncontrollable environment, PESTL
Political forces
Landscapes r us, are faced by several political forces that may influence the amount
of work and the way business will operate. There is a trend of new suburbs being
divided into smaller blocks then older suburbs. In the 1950 s the average block
size was 810sqm 910 sq m, and block divided in 2012 average between 200 350 sq
m (MacroBusiness, 2014)(Hall, 2011). Therefore, each successful tender in new
suburbs isn t as profitable as before, because there is less work required on each
block. Because there are a greater number of blocks it creates a large number of
opportunities to win quotes. When there are more quotes in an area it will attract
more businesses competition.
Economic forces
The announcement of the current federal budget by the Abbot government is
driving the message of cutting Australia s debt. There are threats of lots of job cuts
especially in Canberra where the Public service is a major employer with n
unemployment rate of 6.4% (Rba.gov.au, 2014). In turn this means people have less
disposable income to be spent on landscaping work. As landscaping is a
William Smith, Jr. And The British Empire
Colonists who stayed loyal to the British Empire wished to retain the power and
protection of being part of that Empire. They wanted to fix the disagreements
between the British government and the colonies before it was too late, even though
they knew that the taxes being levied by Parliament against them were excessive.1
Some suggested that the British simply needed to be willing to negotiate a bit with
the colonies and give them the greater political and commercial autonomy they so
desired. William Smith, Jr., a loyalist lawyer from New York, wanted the colonies to
have their own continental parliament , and other new colony specific government
offices, which would have necessitated changes to the British Constitution.2 Since
both sides were so intractable in their beliefs that they were the ones being wronged,
no such radical compromise was ever considered, but that did not stop the desperate
loyalists from imagining a scenario where the status quo was maintained as much as
possible. Another reason certain loyalist colonists so strongly resisted open rebellion
was the fact that they were powerful local officers of the British government, and
they wanted to preserve their personal fortunes and influence. Unfortunately for them
this meant defending the increasingly oppressive British colonial policies. Under
orders from Britain, and under personal conviction that what he did was right,
Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Thomas Hutchinson called the Massachusetts

As a Director of Marketing and Research in Rona Faucets Company, I recommend to

Our company will have an added edge if we make the right move now and it will
help us to capture the wealthy market. This new show runs alongside The Big 5 and
will focus on interior fit out products. That means it will cover everything from
bathrooms and kitchens, to the individual products and materials that are necessary to
create original interior designs and fit outs.
The other reasons for choosing The Big 5 Kuwait International Fair is that, the
country has a large, modern, exhibition facility readymade to host exhibitions of all
sizes, as well as present conference events. Kuwait s economy too has a significant
influence. The country has the highest budget surplus as a percentage of GDP of any
Gulf state at 25 percent and this budget is earmarked for spending on housing,
infrastructure and healthcare. This creates huge opportunities for exhibitions and
conferences that address these subjects (Mellor, 2015).
But our experience is telling us there is a huge demand and enthusiasm from local
businesses. Business leaders at all levels in

Organizational Psychology
As organizations grow and expand globally, the growing number of business
competitors who provide the same services becomes greater. Organizational
psychologists are a benefit to organizational success, regardless of size.
Organizational Psychologists can offer fresh ideas for improvement using various
methods of study and research. One important step in understanding the people within
an organization is to understand their behavior. How employees behave within an
organization has an influence upon the lives of coworkers. Employees do not always

Organizational psychology begins with an assessment and ends with an evaluation.
An organizational psychologist can help management determine what position an
employee would be most productive and efficient in. A manager can then review
productivity and determine if the employee were placed in the best position and is
satisfied with the results.
Research and Statistics
Organizational psychologists conduct a wide range of research and statistics that
provide information about an organization. Statistics is data that is used in an effort
increase productivity and employee satisfaction. A psychologist is under the
expectation to make unbiased recommendations for organizations that benefit both
the employee and organization. A psychologist researches numerous factors to
determine if the employee is happy and satisfied with his job. A psychologist will
take into account: sex, religion, gender, disabilities, physical attributes, job skills, and
experience. This type of research expands on workplace behaviors and proposes an
intervention that an organizational psychologists may propose to management.
How Organizational Psychology Can Be Used
Organizational psychology can help determine why employees do not work well
with others, cause absenteeism, contribute to employee turnover, and explain why an
employee s productivity has dropped or increased. Proactively, organizational
psychology can be used to create policies and procedures. Reactively,
Memorable Challenges Essay
The Memorable Challenges Life could change in the blink of an eye, most times
for the worse, just imagine being under 1500 pounds. Or just coming inches away,
and then having to do the same thing that put you in that situation. I remember that
one summer evening that scared the living bejesus out of me and could ve put me
in the hospital like it was yesterday. The person that made me get back on and ride,
my greatest influence. Her name is Tara, she s my coach, and I look up to her
because she s a diligent worker and pushes everyone in my lesson to do our best. It
was a typical summer evening on a Friday, the day I have all my lessons, and the
day I fell off my horse. It was a pretty ordinary lesson besides what was about to
happen, also that another girl fell off her horse. My trainer has helped me before
with my horse when he s tried to gallop around with me on his back, so I was never
scared about falling off. Also, because I knew that my horse would never try to
hurt me, and he never tried, he just slipped... Before any of this happened we have
my mentor and influencer making my legs, arms, back, and core more powerful. It
was our lesson before a show, so I guess the horses were extra jumpy and
enthusiastic, which was making us a little more nervous. We started like any
normal lesson, just another girl fell off her eager horse, but she got back on like
anyone would do. My coach told us if anyone else fell off then we have to pay her
somewhere around $1500, little did

Organizational Culture:
Business dictionary defines Organizational Culture as the values and behaviors that
contribute to the unique social and psychological environment of an organization . It
can also be seen as the values that show people what is appropriate and what is not
(Becker, 2006).
Lincoln Electric:
Founded in 1865 by John C. Lincoln, the company is known in today s world for its
high worker productivity. The secret behind this extra ordinary success lies in the
company s founding philosophies and established policies over the year. The term
Organizational Culture was not even in practice when the company established its
unique policies like reducing working hours, paid up life insurance, health benefits,
social activities, paid vacations, and the pension plans. These measures not only
motivated the employees but also helped build trust and partisanship. In Charles G.
Herbruck s words ... these were expressions of mutual respect for each person s

The, National Museum Of African Art
On October 9, 2015 I went to the Smithsonian, National Museum of African Art
along with attending the Million Man March down in Washington D.C. The
experiences were wonderful and I was very excited to be at both events. While at
the museum I took two tours one at 10 am that was led by a woman named Nkechi
Obi. She talked about docent African Arts. The next one was shortly after at11 am
that was led by a teen ambassador named Nicholas Stewart, who was very intelligent.
He talked about numerous pieces throughout the museum that had some significance
to younger minds so I found that very helpful. After the tour I spent some time down
at the mall in DC in which faced the Capitol. This was the Million Man Marchthat
was a very popular event that brought out many people. I would describe both
events as lectures that were powerful and time put to good use. The reason I chose
to go to the African Art Museum is because I have been there before and I enjoy my
time when I go. The tours at the museum consisted of talks about certain pieces in
the museum that fell in a category the tourist wanted to focus on. Nkechi Obi was
my first tour guide and the title of her tour was Docent African Arts . Her goal
throughout the tour was to show pieces of artwork that showed what Africans may
have gone through in the past in slavery. One piece that she focused on that I want to
highlight was Southern Landscape by Walter Williams Roots. In this piece there
various things going on in the photo.
Computers Can Not Only Bring Us A Great Diversity Of
Benefit
Introduction
After several decades of development, computers have changed a lot. Nowadays, it
is quite hard to work without any assistance of computers in most areas, even some
traditional fields, such as agriculture, tourism, education etc. A computer is defined
as a general purpose device that can be programmed to carry out a set of arithmetic
or logical operations automatically ( Computer, 2015). In other words, it is a device
which can solve some sort of problems through calculating data or taking statistics.

Background
The idea of developing an electronic computer was generated during the World War
II. At that time, every country was busy with researching new strategic weapons
and equipment. Therefore, producing new types of airplanes and artilleries tended
to be more and more significant and necessary. For this reason, the Ordnance
Department of US Army set up a Ballistic Research Laboratory in Aberdeen,
Maryland. The US military required that the lab needed to provide six firing tables
of Army artillery units daily in order to identify the development of missile
technology. Although it was just six firing tables, they needed a staggering amount
of work. As a matter of fact, each table must calculate hundreds of shooting ballistic,
and each model of trajectory is a set of very complex nonlinear equations. These
equations are no way to find the exact solution, it can only be calculated

The difficulty lies in capturing a moment that holds personal significance and effectively conveying its impact on your life. Selecting the right moment is crucial, as it should be something that resonates with you deeply and can be explored in a meaningful way. The challenge further intensifies when attempting to translate the emotional essence of that moment into words. Finding the right balance between vivid descriptions and profound reflections is essential to engage your readers. The task involves not only recounting the events but also delving into the emotions, thoughts, and lessons learned from the experience. • 3. Kansas Department Of Natural Resources Not everyone is cut out to be a law enforcement officer, and even fewer, an Indiana Conservation Officer... We are the law enforcement division of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. We provide a law enforcement presence for all divisions and state properties within the Department of Natural Resources. As a Conservation Officer, we have full policepowers within the State of Indiana, but concentrate our efforts on the primary areas of fish and wildlife law enforcement. This also includes boat patrol of all state and boundary waters, and patrol of many state properties. We work weekends. We work alone at night, in the rural areas of Indiana, often without the convenience of a backup law enforcement officer. We patrol on the water in watercraft, recover drowning victims. We work in the various Indiana weather conditions. A Conservation Officer gets cold, hot, wet, and hungry during their course of duty, and may sit for hours waiting for a deer poacher to come through at two o clock in the morning, or a thief stealing from our state properties. We swear to protect the rights, property, and lives of the citizens of Indiana. We swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the laws of our country. Indiana Conservation Officers are the Thin Green Line standing between the criminal elements that threaten our natural resources. • 4. Analysis Of Benjamin Peters s The War First, I would like to mention how a veteran who is now a pacifist, Benjamin Peters, has also impacted me. Awhile back I came across a video series that Mennonite Central Committee has on YouTube of him speaking at the youth convention in Kansas City. I was curious to see how soldiers dealt with their faith and these videos helpful for me to start to understand through one person s journey of reconciling with what it meant to be a Christian in the military. Ben s story was a great resource that helped me understand Ken s experience, so I ve referenced him a few times. The desensitizing of soldiers was something that Ken kept going back to. The US military tries to dehumanize the enemy so that it s possible for soldiers to kill on command. Without this process many people would have a hard time pulling the trigger. Ken referred to the shirt the military made him wear and how they would make him yell blood to the enemy. Ben Peters talks about how the military has to teach you to hate, dehumanize, and view people you are fighting as others. He goes on to describe the process: We never refer to the Iraqis as Iraqis because it creates to much cognitive dissonance...and complexity in the brain to extend humanity to the enemy; so I have to see you as an ugly, dirty, stinky middle eastern animal and only then can I kill you. (Mennonite Central Committee U.S. Ben s Story, Chapter 2: Boot Camp ) This us versus them mentality is the complete opposite of what Shalom means. In

The VRIO model of sustainability describes four characteristics value, rarity, inimitability, and organization to exploit profits from which a company s competitive advantage(s) arises. • 6. Billy Goat Trail Essay Billy Goat Trail The Billy Goat trail currently located in Maryland and is part of the Great Falls. After getting familiar with the Billy Goat Trail you can see all the evidence that a great geological phenomenon has occurred at that location. This location went through several geographical changes that I will be mentioning along with some of the evidence from the Billy Goat Trail. The Billy Goat Trail actually started at the bottom of the Iaptus Ocean more than 460 million years ago. At the bottom of the ocean the sand was being deposited on top of the mud making some graded bedding that was caused by turbidity currents. The rock that was being formed from graded bedding on the bottom of the ocean floor was the sedimentary rockcalled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Acadian Orogeny not only started the mountain building in the region but also brought volcanic activity along and this meant that the rocks in the region now where under a great amount of pressure and extreme amount of heat. Some of the evidence that I observed at the Billy Goat Trail from the Acadian Orogeny was the Gneiss rocks that where hidden underneath the large boulders where we stopped for lunch. The rock Gneiss requires high pressure and high heat because the rock has U shaped banding due to the pressure and black and white striations from the heat. (2) Another observation from the trip that supports the Acadian Orogeny is the Lamprophyre dikes that cut across the Meta Greywacke and are found in both sides of the Potomac River. The Lamprophyre dikes are younger than the Meta Greywacke since they cut across them and since the dikes are made of basalt they can be dated back about 360 million years ago thus linking them to the Acadian Orogeny. Also the dikes weather out faster than the rock around them. (3) After the Acadian Orogeny the continent of North America collided with Africa which was at the time of Pangea. Then the continents separated and opened up a new ocean called the Atlantic Ocean but there was no evidence found in the region to prove this geological event so the time missing is called an unconformity. During this time the region was just experiencing weathering

  • 9. The Faerie Queene By Edmund Spenser Analysis This week s lecture is on The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser. This lecture focuses on Edmund Spenser s life, the sources and influences that created Book I of The Faerie Queene , themes, devices, and meaning, purpose of Book I, and The Legend of the Knight of the Red Cross . Edmund Spenserwas born in 1552 to a modest family of modest means with a similar background such as Marlowe and Shakespeare. Spenser was a well educated man much like Marlowe. Spenser spent his first years of education at the Merchant Taylors School before attending university. Edmund Spenser would go on to receive a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts from Cambridge University. After university, Spenser would begin a career as a minor civil servant where he was a personal secretary to men of power and influence. His work would lead him to a few minor colonial government posts in Ireland. Afterwards, Edmund Spenser was bestowed a castle and 3,000 acres of land in Munster, Ireland. However, the castle was burned down into a rebel uprising. This was due to Spenser being disrespectful of the Irish and their religion. Edmund Spenser would then go on to be a poet. He was creative and adventurous when it came to his work. His greatest works are The Shepheardes Calendar and The Faerie Queene. Spenser became a great influence to several poets such as Milton and other romantics. In the end, Edmund Spenser became one of the greatest English poets of his time. The Faerie Queene is similar to works of Beowulf because of its Anglo Saxon epics. Also, Book I has a hint of classical and renaissance adventures. The Faerie Queene is a perfect combination of themes and motifs that was already introduced in other assignments. This makes Spenser s The Faerie Queene an epic poem. An epic poem is described as a long narrative in elevated style while presenting characters of high positions in adventures thus forming an organic whole through their relation to a central heroic figure and their development of events that play an important part to the history of a nation or race. The common characteristics of the main character is that the hero is played by a person of importance such who would have a historical or legendary significance. The
  • 10. The Reexaminations Of Benjamin Franklin And Inventions In my previous submission of Benjamin Franklin s diary entry of the time in his life when the construction of the lighting rod was being published in Poor Richard s Almanack, I put myself in the year 1752/1753 in Bens shoes. I was Benjamin Franklin in the 18th century. In Marc Arkins, Big Ben , he speaks of Franklin s insatiable curiosity s and inventions. This is where in the fifth line of Part 1: I begin discussing how Ben came upon the thought of electricity. He writes his friend Peter Collison, and describes to him his curiosity of the electrical tube that he had sent him as a gift. It is there, I am describing the insatiable curiosity that Arkins speaks of. I feel I definitely used this piece to help me set the tone for my essay.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During my essay as Benjamin Franklin, I was able to discuss the reexaminations of Franklins invention and Modern observations versus Franklins ideas on lightning protection, thanks to Moore, Aulich, and Risons piece A Modern Assessment of Benjamin Franklin s Lightning Rods. Page one on the last three lines Benjamin speaks of his thoughts on how he was going to invent the lightning rod. He states, I came across this reason of towns, churches, houses and ships being fruitfully grappled from the stroke of lightning by their means; for if, the tops of the vanes, weathercocks, spires or masts, or spindles of churches, instead of the round balls of metal or wood, which are commonly placed on top, there should be put 8 or 10 feet in length a rod of iron. To help with my wording during this piece (even though I still felt it quite tricky) I read an article on The King s English: Eighteenth Century Language Different pointers that they brought up that I found interesting were: First of all, they were stratified societies. Their relative social positions were reflected by the ways in which people interacted with one another. Not only when it was said, but how it was
  • 11. Children Of A Child Protection Process Essay There are a number of different organisations that may be involved when a young person or child has been abused or harmed. This includes health visitors, GP s, the police, schools, the NSPCC, psychologists, school nurses and probation workers. Health visitors have a vital role in protecting children from harm and abuse because they are one of the first to recognise children who are likely to be abused or neglected. They play a big part in all stages of a child protection process including case reviews. They support and guide parents of young children, provide developmental checks on children under the age of five, have contact with many multi agencies and they support the work of the Local Safeguarding Children s Board (LSCB). They are trained to a high level to recognise any risks that the child might be in and also they will visit the children at home. They are in a position to gather information from very early on and therefore this enables them to start the process quite quickly when any signs or concerns of abuse or neglect are detected. The health visitor will need to have ongoing contact with the family if abuse or neglect is suspected. Health visitors should use their own judgement on when to share information with other agencies. The role of a General Practitioner is to maintain their skills in recognising if a child is being abused or neglected. They need to follow all correct procedures if abuse or neglect is suspected. All GP s should have regular training and
  • 12. The Issue Of Safety And Gun Control Have you ever thought about the fact that in America, an 18 year old is old enough to buy a gun, but not a beer? The concern of a gun crime being committed by a young man/woman is high, but what if they want to go hunting with their father? It doesn t seem so bad now. Some people may think that our President isn t effective enough, but there are too many people supporting each side for the President to make a large, yet fair decision. There may be two sides to the story, but what is the right option? This question of safety and gun control has become part of an on going controversy due to views on The Constitution, the national gun control laws, as well as the fact that most Americans would like an updated background checking system. The discussions about citizens rights to bear arms go back to ancient times. Political theorists from ancient Rome, John Locke of England, and Jean Jacques Rousseau of France viewed the possession of arms as a sign of personal freedom and a crucial element of government. The precise meaning and purpose of the Second Amendment has been an issue of major controversy. Gun control supporters argue that when the Second Amendment was adopted in 1791, each state enabled a militia, composed of ordinary citizens who served as part time soldiers. Fearing that the federal government would use its army to force its will on the states, the authors of the Second Amendment intended to protect the state militias right to bear arms. As stated in modern times

George and Lennie being the best of friends, it is surprising George decides to kill his mate. In a way, it makes sense. If the others were to catch Lennie first, then Curley would have most likely tortured or killed Lennie in a very painful way. During all this, George would have to watch without being able to do anything. Lennie made the mistake, and he will have to pay for it no matter what. The best way to quickly end it is to kill him painlessly when he is happy. This stops their goal of living together in a small house. George will either have to complete that dream himself or choose another companion. Either way, it is a loss for George and for Lennie. In a way, this may be the best for George. Now he doesn t have to deal with a person who is constantly messing up and is hard to deal with. This act of deciding to kill Lennie is an epiphany. This is because, before this, George and Lennie were really close, but after, George had to go through the process of deciding to kill Lennie. The moment when George realizes that the best situation for his friend is for George to kill him is harsh. George did the best for Lennie, and that is what

Franchisee is different from a public limited company has it is dependent on the franchisor skills. If the franchisor goes out of business or gets a bad reputation, this will cause problems in the business. One of the key similarities between these two types of ownership is liability. The franchise and public limited company have limited liability. This means protections of their shareholder from losing their personal finances if the company goes bankrupt. If the company fail they only lose their invested money in the business. If business wants to become a limited liability can it be complicated and expensive to set the business, decisions can take longer and it takes a lot of legal requirements. • 17. Horror and Suspense in Bierce s Work Essay Horror and Suspense in Bierce s Work A novel is divided into different chapters and usually has different plots to focus on. In a novel there are lots of characters and the time scale is constantly changing throughout. Because there is more than one theme and there are different messages coming across of combined themes, makes the novel denser and more complicated to understand and to take in all the description. Ambrose Bierce wrote a lot of short stories and some we have studied and analysed. In a short story there is usually only one plot and the event usually carries on in the same setting. There are usually a couple of characters and one hidden message which makes the short stories more to the point and very direct. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found that the stories are frightening because they are more into psychological horror. Bierce s stories make us think of the supernatural and things that cannot be rationalised and things that we cannot see or understand. The horror and suspense and things that are not tangible he creates in an incredible way through his use of characters and the establishing atmosphere. The language used by Bierce is very effective and highly descriptive as he uses a different for of English language giving every last detail. This is because he wrote this in the nineteen hundreds and the English he writes seems like a whole different language to us. Staley Fleming s Hallucination, is a very effective piece of writing as Bierce tends to create a sense of horror and suspense and keeps it going to the very end of the story. What I like about this short story is the way Staley Fleming thinks he is loony from the very start but the physician tends to think that it is guilt coming back on him as he assumes Staley Fleming murdered Atwell Barton, a great enemy of Staley s, and that this dog that appears to him is the loyal dog of Atwell Barton s. At the end of the story it states that when the man was dead an examination disclosed the unmistakable marks of animal s fangs. Holden s red hunting hat is a symbol of protection and also symbolizes Holden s independence and his desire to be different from everyone around him. Salinger uses Holden s red hunting hat to show how Holden tries to differentiate himself from the phony or fake people he seems to meet so often. An example of this is when Holden is in his dorm room at Pencey with Ackley and Stradlater when Ackley finds Holden s red hunting cap and starts questioning him about it. That s a dear shooting hat. Like hell it is. I took it off and looked at it. I sort of closed one eye, like I was taking aim at it. This is a people shooting hat, I said. I shoot people in this hat. (Salinger, 26). This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than focusing on achieving something personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated by the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that God is simply testing one s faith. I would
  • 34. Characteristics Of A Hero In Beowulf It is hard to be a hero, just have to be selfless and put the needs or well being of others ahead of yourself own. Heroes also usually present themselves in times of need when nobody else does, which makes them stand out, because they are selfless and put other people ahead of themselves. Beowulf showed many signs of being a heroand also showed that he was selfless. A modern day hero that could be related to Beowulf who showed the same heroic traits is Martin Luther King JR. One quality that a hero must possess is that they need to be selfless. They need to be selfless because they need to put other people before themselves. Beowulf was a hero and this quote shows how he is selfless when he volunteered to go help out Hrothgar and protect everyone; Raffell writes, In his far off home Beowulf, Higlac s follower and the strongest of the Geats greater and stronger than anyone anywhere in this world heard how Grendel filled nights with horror and quickly commanded a boat fitted out, proclaiming that he d go to that famous king, would sail across the sea to Hrothgar, now when help was needed (23). The main thing that makes a hero is that they will go out of their way to help other people. Heroes need to present themselves in times of need and that is not something selfish people would usually do. They present themselves in times of need and sometimes even risk their lives to save other people. Someone cannot be selfish and be a hero because sure they could help people and do

The Inspector s style of interrogation could be considered as rather unorthodox. He does not show the photograph of the young woman (Eva Smith / Daisy Renton) to more than one person at any time, this casts doubts about whether he is showing everyone the same photograph. Mr. Birling does not seem phased by the arrival of the Inspector. He uses long sentences and throws his weight around mentioning his connections and status often in an attempt to intimidate the Inspector. The Inspector uses short sentences and phrases in response to Birlings, this shows that he is not at all phased and he remains focused on the task at hand. ==================================================================== The exits during the play allow the characters to have private discussions. An example of this is when the Inspector and Eric leave Sheila and Gerald alone, in order to talk further about the character Daisy Renton who it is clear that Gerald knows. Also, when Sheila runs out of the room after being shown the photograph that the Inspector wields, it is clear that she had a memory of the woman. However, humans have a natural capacity of how much information they can attain. We are unable to store all of our acquired information without different systems that organize our information. Working memory is one of these systems that temporarily holds and manages information for cognitive processing (119). Baddeley s working memorymodel is made up of four components that allow for temporary information to be stored (109). The central executive directs the flow of information. It functions more with delegating the way resources are used in cognitive tasks. The central executive also coordinates information from the person s current environment with retrieval of their prior information (119). The phonological loop is used to carry out rehearsed maintained verbal material. It plays an important role in the acquisition of vocabulary, learning how to read, and comprehending language. The visuospatial sketchpad maintains material through visualization. The visuospatial sketchpad creates and manages our mental images. In 1861, a Civil War broke out between the North and the South. A soldier who served in the Civil War said in a letter to his parents, Many became ill from exposure and starvation, and were left on the road. ( Letters and Diaries, 1862) The war continued for four years and was considered by historians as the most devastating war the United Stateshas witnessed. Nonetheless, the Civil War produced two of the most brilliant minds in American history: Abraham Lincolnand Nathan Bedford Forrest. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of America, served as the main strategist for the North during the Civil War and Nathan Bedford Forrest was a Lieutenant General in the Confederate Army. Both Lincoln and Forrest came from humble origins and worked their way to success. However, Lincoln gained his position as a President by using his tact and diplomacy although he was not appreciated for his clever decisions and authority while Forrest became a General through aggression and was praised by the South as a great tactician and a war hero. Abraham Lincoln s endeavor and success in granting equal rights for African American will remain forever in the heart of later generations. Not all technologies are equally good. Each one of them has benefits and disadvantages. 2.1 COMPOSTING : Composting is a technology known in India since times immemorial. Composting is the decomposition of organic matter by microorganism in warm, moist, aerobic and anaerobic environment. Farmers have been using compost made out of cow dung and other agro waste. The compost made out of urban heterogeneous waste is found to be of higher nutrient value as compared to the compost made out of cow dung and agro waste. Composting of Solid Waste is, therefore, the most simple and cost effective technology for treating the organic fraction of solid waste. Full scale commercially viable composting technology is already demonstrated in India and is in use in several cities and towns. Its application to farm land, tea gardens, fruit orchards or its use as soil conditioner in parks, gardens, agricultural lands, etc., is however, limited on account of poor promoting. Main benefits of composting include improvement in soil texture and augmenting of micronutrient deficiencies. It also increases moisture holding capacity of the soil and
  • 41. The Independence Of Meta Cinema And Authorship Chapter 2 This chapter will examine the independence of meta cinema and authorship. As Valck and Hagener stated in An Introduction to Cinephilia, auteurisim a cinematic practice set up due to the prominence of the film director emerges from passionate attendance and critiques on films in Cahiers du Cin?ma, and further aims to cultivate cinematic literacy among the audience (Valck and Hagener, 1999). Thus, auteurist concerns can be summarised as appealing to the articulation and reception of filmmakers? self reflexivity. David Bordwell has indicated in his analysis on European art cinema that the stress of authorship covers the distinct style of art cinema practices (Bordwell, 1979). In his essay, representative art films are introduced as models conveying authorial marks, among which are Day for Night (La Nuit Am?ricaine, Truffaut, 1973) and 8 ? (Fellini, 1963). In order to demonstrate this, I will take in this chapter these two films together with Tout Va Bien (Godard and Gorin, 1972) as illustration. Determined by Bordwell as adversary to art cinema, the third reflexive work balances the discussion on the projection of auteurism in meta cinema as an interrogating approach. All examples reflect the process of filmmaking and embody or question the auteurist concerns on directors? individuality and the uniqueness of cinema as an art. These concerns have been stated in film critiques and have embraced post war European cinema. First coined by Fran?ois Truffaut as

One of the most potent tools used in the play is noise. Noise, and the perception of noise sheds, a different light on the subtleties of each character. It reveals characteristics that contradict their written descriptions and often provides insight into the mindset of the characters. Through the use of harsh sounds and solemn music, Prosperoreveals his apathetic nature towards the Europeans. This apathetic nature is a result of selfishness because Prospero wants his daughter wed. They wanted to fix the disagreements between the British government and the colonies before it was too late, even though they knew that the taxes being levied by Parliament against them were excessive.1 Some suggested that the British simply needed to be willing to negotiate a bit with the colonies and give them the greater political and commercial autonomy they so desired. William Smith, Jr., a loyalist lawyer from New York, wanted the colonies to have their own continental parliament , and other new colony specific government offices, which would have necessitated changes to the British Constitution.2 Since both sides were so intractable in their beliefs that they were the ones being wronged, no such radical compromise was ever considered, but that did not stop the desperate loyalists from imagining a scenario where the status quo was maintained as much as possible. Another reason certain loyalist colonists so strongly resisted open rebellion was the fact that they were powerful local officers of the British government, and they wanted to preserve their personal fortunes and influence. Unfortunately for them this meant defending the increasingly oppressive British colonial policies. Under orders from Britain, and under personal conviction that what he did was right, Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Thomas Hutchinson called the Massachusetts General
