Distracted Driving And Distracted Driving
There are thousands of ads in today s social media driven society. Each ad is directed to a different
group of people with a different type of message. There are some not so serious ads for things such as
food, shopping, or services. Then, there are some for more serious subjects such as bullying, safe
driving, drug abuse, and many others, these are usually labeled as a public service announcement. The
purpose of this paper is to look at a particular ad in depth and discuss the different aspects of it. Ads
have more meaning behind them than people normally realize, so that is the goal of this paper.
In this particular ad by EKBURG.RU, it is focusing on the number of car accidents. More,
specifically, car accidents involving children during the school holidays. In this ad, there is a man,
woman, and baby in the backseat. The man is in the driver s seat distracted

ACCOUNTING TRANSPARENCY
Accounting is mainly concerned with general rules, concepts and principles that are established with
the purpose of governing different fields of financial reporting. Accounting principles are also known
as accounting principles and guidelines, these acts as the base on which more complex and critical
rules are based. The authority responsible for issuing the accounting standards (i.e. financial
accounting standard board) also uses these basic principles to formulate the accounting standards in a
more efficient manner.

Ratio Analysis is used for evaluation of performance of the company by internal as well as external
users. These comprises of managers, equity investors, long term creditors and short term creditors.
The managers are interested in the profitability and asset utilization ratios of the company as their
incentives and appraisal are based on the profitability and efficiency of asset utilization of their
respective divisions. Higher the profitability, higher is the chances of promotion. Thus, managers are
always very keen to analyze the different financial ratios of the company.
Those who invest in equity are always interested in knowing about the profitability, Market and
solvency ratios of the company. Higher profitability ratio is helpful in increasing the market value of
the company. The market ratios like dividend yield, price earnings ratio, earnings per share etc. is
useful in determining the exact position of the company s market share. Favorable market ratio
indicates the increase in market capitalization for investors and vice versa. The equity investors are
also interested in knowing the solvency ratio as high debt will pose danger to the ownership of the
company. Higher debt is harmful for the liquidity position of the company and in some worst cases;
the company even faces the risk of liquidation.
The long term creditors and short term creditors are majorly concerned about the liquidity and
solvency position of an organization. The increase in the debt

Narrative About Anxiety
The anxiety started when we checked into the hotel. I was in Syracuse with three of my best friends,
ready to have a weekend full of exhilaration and laughter. Hey girls! I have the keys to our hotel room,
would you like to go put your luggage away before we go to the mall? my friends mom asked
cheerfully. We all replied yes, and made our way to the room so we could get ourselves settled. After
Kendall, Lauren, Jaidan, and I were unpacked and ready to go, we walked to the car and drove to
Destiny USA Mall. As we got closer to the mall, my anxiety started to build. We were going to go on
the mall s infamous four story tall ropes course! When I looked over at the other girls, they all seemed
relaxed and carefree. I tried to replicate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We all were making our way cautiously through the course when all of the sudden I heard a scream
from above me. When I looked up I saw that Jaidan had slipped off of one of the ropes and she was
hanging onto the course with only her harness. I rushed up to help her, and saw that Lauren had
slipped below me while she was also trying to reach Jaidan. I was so determined to make it to them
that I almost slipped off of one of the obstacles too! By the time Kendall, Lauren, Jaidan, and I met up
again, we were all so rattled with fear that we decided it would be better to climb off of the course.
Lauren and I leaped across the course like kangaroos trying to get off of it. By the time we reached the
wooden bridge that would lead us back to flat ground, our breaths were ragged and we were more
scared than a cat in a lion s cage. We ripped our harnesses off and threw them back onto the hooks.
The other girls took a little longer to catch up with us, but once they also came off the course and met
us, we were all relieved beyond belief. Although we were still left shaking, we all felt courageous.
Even though we hadn t completed the course, or done it as gracefully as we might ve hoped, we still
pushed ourselves onto the ropes course that we had all been so afraid of. Now that it was over, the
course looked less

Analysis Of Jeffrey Jerome Cohen s Monster Culture
Monster Culture (Seven Thesis)
By Jeffrey Jerome Cohen In this reading, Cohen proposes a sketch of a new modus legendi, meaning,
a method of reading cultures from the monsters they engender. (Monsters page 11) He also says that
he s going to break some rules from recent cultural studies. Now, Cohen offers seven theses towards
understanding cultures through monsters by their character, appearance and representation, such as:
Vampires, the Alien, Frankenstein, Werewolves, Grendel, the Boogey man, and etc.
First Thesis pretty much says that monsters always are symbols and representations of culture. The
monster is born only at this metaphoric crossroads, as an embodiment of a certain cultural moment of
a time, a feeling and a place. (Monsters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Monsters are part of an imagination so they exist only to be read. (Monsters page 12) Second Thesis
says The monster always escapes. In this case the monster gets away with it too but this monster
damaged a lot of things that can t be undone. So the monster escapes meaning it is never truly
destroyed or defeated because there s always something it left behind. They can never be caught but
they can also return in a different form way to get back at those who tried to destroy them. Third
Thesis basically explains that monsters cannot be categorized in the animals or people. As Cohen says
they are disturbing hybrids whose externally incoherent bodies resist attempts to include them in any
systematic structuration. (Monsters page 14) Their physical and psychological characteristics just don
t fit in classification because they can be half human, half animal and may have some other deforms.
Fourth Thesis explains the monster is an outsider , they are different so it depends on cultural, political
racial economic, sexual. (Monsters page 16) Monsters have aspects. The monster will always

Producing sustainable competitive advantage through the effective management of people*
Jeffrey Pfeffer
Executive Overview
Achieving competitive success through people involves fundamentally altering how we think about
the workforce and the employment relationship. It means achieving success by working with people,
not by replacing them or limiting the scope of their activities. It entails seeing the workforce as a
source of strategic advantage, not just as a cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The point here is not to throw out conventional strategic analysis based on industrial economics but
simply to note that the source of competitive advantage has always shifted over time. What these five
successful firms tend to have in common is that for their sustained advantage, they rely not on
technology, patents, or strategic position, but on how they manage their workforce.
The Importance of the Workforce and How
It is Managed
As other sources of competitive success have become less important, what remains as a crucial,
differentiating factor is the organization, its employees, and how they work. Consider, for instance,
Southwest Airlines, whose stock had the best return from 1972 to 1992. It certainly did not achieve
that success from economies of scale. In
1992, Southwest had revenues of $1.31 billion and a mere 2.6% of the U.S. passenger market.4 People
Express, by contrast, achieved $1 billion in revenues after only 3 years of operation, not the almost
20 it took Southwest. Southwest exists not because of regulated or protected markets but in spite of
them. During the first three years of its history, no
Southwest planes were flown. 5 Southwest waged a battle for its very existence with competitors who
sought to keep it from flying at all and, failing that, made sure it did not fly out of the newly
constructed Dallas Fort Worth international airport.
Instead, it was restricted to operating out of the

The Same Kind Of Different As Me
There have always been leaders who are effective and get the job done, but that does not necessarily
mean that they were good leaders. To be a good leader means that not only does one have to be
effective but also be able to go above and beyond just simply reaching the goal in mind. A good leader
sets to make an impact in many different people s lives. A good example of the difference between an
effective leader and a good leader would be Ron and Deborah Hall in The Same Kind of Different as
Me. In the memoir Deborah Hall is the good leader while Ron Hall is the effective leader. Deborah
went through great lengths to help and inspire people she did not even know. She led her husband,
Ron, to go to The Union Gospel Mission and guided

Stryker Corporation Essay
VALUABLE ASSETS
In the medical sales industry, most of the competitive advantage comes from the doctor preference.
Because of the high cost and amount of time that it takes to learn how to use a different company s
medical equipment, most doctors use one company s products for life. Stryker has always recognized
the existence of brand loyalty and has made it a top priority to develop excellent relationships with its
customers. Hospitals that use Stryker s equipment are more likely to continue to buy from Stryker
because of their diverse product offerings. The key factors that differentiate Stryker from its
competitors are innovation, reliability, service and reputation. As of December 31, 2010, Stryker

38% of its sales come from its MedSurg products segment, which produces medical and surgical
equipment. 17% of its sales come from Neurotechnology and Spine products, which produces spine
and CMF implants, interventional spine equipment, and neurovascular products.
Stryker continues to have a consistent flow of new products that expand markets. They just recently
bought MAKO Surgical Corp. for $1.65billion, which develops robotic technology for hip and knee
replacement surgeries. As long as Stryker continues to develop innovate new products and acquire its
competition will continue to gain market share.
Stryker has a Quick ratio of 3.08, which shows it has the ability to meet any short term cash needs.
Stockholders Equity has increased by 8.18% from Q2FY12 to Q2FY13. This tells me that it is very
unlikely that they will face any financial difficulty in the near future. It also indicates they have the
cash flow to continue growing through acquisitions.
DISRUPTIONS
One disrupter for Stryker and all companies in the med tech industry will be the new Affordable
Health Care Act. The Affordable Health Care Act will include a 2.3% excise tax on medical devices.
For Stryker, 2.3% of their revenues is $100million dollars, which is 20% of their R D budget. This
would be a direct hit and will have a significant impact on Stryker especially since 65% of their
revenues come from the United States. In 2012, U.S.

Racial And Ethnic Diversity
How do you envision the racial and ethnic diversity of the United States thirty years from now?
Explain thoroughly. In today society, racial and ethnic diversity is an everyday thing in the United
States. Racial diversity can be seen in workplace, schools, and etc. When it comes to the future of
America people say immigrants are it. The percentage of immigrants that has entered the United States
has continued to rise everyday now. Immigrants has begun to premaster English as their second
language. Racial Diversity has been a big issue when it comes to most like; hiring and promoting
people of color. Some individuals have had to deal with not being hired because of their race or due to
the way they look. On the other hand, some have had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People shouldn t be determined by the way they look. Not being white doesn t mean you can t make
six figures and are able to support your family. Social media was created for the enjoyment of another
or better form of communication. Minority majority on shows how mixed the world is and how so
many people feel that race doesn t portray who you are.
This trend only offends those who minorities. It only reduces social problems because it allows people
to disrespect others by basically calling them out of their names. To make things better everyone has
to be on the same page as far as communication goes. Categorizing one another as the same regardless
of the color of our skin will reduce more than Minority Majority by creating a movement towards
making a difference in the world. If the current trend remains the way it is whites will become less
than 50 percent of the population by 2042(Tom Jacobs). Coming up with more suggests or ideas on
will it would be tolerant in the near future, the increasing diversity of the nation may actually yield
more intergroup hostility (Tom Jacobs). In my opinion there may be issues with some part of the
society when it comes to the time when we are merge as one. People just have to be more
understanding an aware of other people are now starting families and receiving jobs in the united
states so it s best to start accepting and treating everyone as the same.

The Ego In Ice Age
The movie Ice Age is fictionally set during prehistoric times, which includes abounding amounts of
extinct animals such as: woolly mammoths, saber tooth tigers, and ground sloths. This filmography is
centered around three main characters who are Sid who is a ground sloth and Id, Diego who is a saber
tooth tiger and Ego, and Manny who is a woolly mammoth and superego. In the beginning of the
movie Manny saves Sid from being eaten by predators, because of this Sid decides to stay with Manny
who was not migrating, later in the movies they find a baby and mother in a river. Surprisingly the
mother ends up leaving the baby with Sid and Manny, unfortunately Diego tries to take the baby so he

Within the cinema Ice Age Diego the saber tooth tiger is the ego. Diego is useful in combat and for
seriousness does whatever his pack leader tells him to do, does what s right because he s not a terrible
person. At the beginning of the movie Diego decides to steal a baby from it s tribe in order to feed his
pack. Even though this sounds like id, this is ego because it is a realistic demand and satisfies Diego
and his pack which he finds right. Later in the movie Diego decides he is taking Manny and the baby
to his pack to be eaten, however even though this is harming manny and the baby, unfortunately Diego
does not care because it does not harm him it is pleasing him and his pack. At the end of the end of the
movie Diego decides to save his group from being eaten by his saber tooth tiger pack, because
throughout the movie they have become his extended family and realized they accept him more then

Remember The Perpetrator Essay
Remember, the perpetrator can create multiple diseases simultaneously to make the victim restless,
angry, and loose cool. But I suffered through all these calmly; I know this is the only way to win.
Winning is important because I take this as a game, and If I fail, then disappointed and angry. I am not
expecting to win all the time, I am aware. Finally, I have to surrender. Now I am on the verge of
defeat.
The perpetrators put me to sleep for a few hours several times in a day when I was sitting on my sofa,
defenseless, unable to keep awake, and then they stream pulses to my ears. When I woke up, I felt
severe burning sensation in both ears as if someone has inserted a screwdriver and mildly twisted.

Other diseases the perpetrators can create: change the skin color, coughing, sneezing, cold, etc. The
intensity and frequency of the diseases depend on how badly the perpetrator wants to torture the
victim. Here only mentioned a few samples of diseases, but a multitude of diseases can be created
simultaneously and make the victims life miserable.
The Perpetrators can control the muscles of a victim through the nervous system, so they could make
the victim to move the limbs to touch another person.

feeling to itch at the tip of the nose when both hands are busy while washing the dishes. Many more

The Importance Of National Honor Society
The first idea I believe National Honor Society should participate in is hosting a Memorial Day
celebration for the families in our community that have lost loved ones due to serving our country. I
think this would be amazing because it would give the people in our community a sense that they are
not alone and introduce them to people that they can lean on. At this event, we could have food/treats
and potentially an open microphone where people would be able to share the story of their loved
one(s). This could then become a yearly event that people look forward to because it would be a
celebration of life. I realize this could turn into a huge event because there are many people that could
possibly attend but we could keep that under control

Essay On Sallust, Catiline s War
Classics 201: Dr. T. Rose Parth Patel Topic #3: Sallust, Catiline s War In this paper, I will discuss the
historic events of a Roman coup as written by Gaius Sallustius also known as Sallust. Early Rome,
according to Sallust s best knowledge, was built by two groups of people, exiled Trojan soldiers under
Aeneas and native aborigines without government or law. For a time after the founding of this
settlement, they prospered and no ill intents of human nature toward another were found. As the city
continued to grow in wealth, size, and number it was soon the envy of neighboring kingdoms who
were wrought with greed. The Romans having held ground and won these neighboring kingdoms
through battle, established a city founded on monarchy law and created allies with nearby kingdoms.
After the seed of tyrannical rule was developed Rome changed government and appointed two rulers
with annual power, the king and the senate. Now as Rome was under new command of the usurper
Sulla the Roman army, for the first time, indulged in women, drink, material wealth, and riches. Now
these plagues of sin have taken hold of young romans and continued their destructive paths to conquer
the minds of all Rome. This was the setting for Sallust s history about the ... Show more content on

claimed Catiline to be evil but Sallust writes about how he was fighting for freedom for the poor and

that he started this rebellion because of his own shortcomings. I believe Catiline to be noble but also
corrupt, he is a man of both yin and yang but the dark is overpowering the light as time passes. We can

Sarcoptic Mange Research Paper
Sarcoptic mange is a common parasitic disease of the skin among mammalian species, including dogs.
In dogs, this non seasonal and highly contagious infection is caused by infestation with the mite
Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis (Espinosa et al. 2017). These adult mites have four pairs of short legs,
grow in a circular shape 0.2 0.6 mm long, and covered with small triangular spines (Arlian Vyszenski
Moher 1988). The ovigerous females can grow up to twice as large as males, and they burrow tunnels
in the host s stratum corneum to lay eggs. The mite has a direct life cycle that lasts from 10 13 days
(Arlian Vyszenski Moher 1988).
Demodectic mange is another persistent inflammatory parasitic skin disease among dogs. Two
subtypes of demodectic mange, squamous and pustular (Healey Gaafar 1977), are differentiated
according to the type of skin lesion seen. The parasites responsible, Demodex canis mites, are
commonly found in small numbers in the skin of healthy dogs. They are suspected to be transmitted
from carrier mothers to puppies shortly after birth (Unsworth 1946), but the otherwise the disease
shows no other mode of transmission. When the various species of the Demodex mites increase in
numbers exorbitantly, it becomes a skin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the mites prefer to live on areas of the skin with less hair, common initial sites of infection are the
ears, face, ventral trunk and limbs. In particular, commonly affected localised regions are the
periocular skin, the pinnal margins, the points of the elbows and the points of the hocks (Curtis 2012).
Small, itchy, red pustules often develop, which worsen into severe crusting on the skin when the dog
scratches them. The skin soon becomes reddened and a variety of secondary infections can develop
(Curtis 2012). If untreated, secondary bacterial and yeast infections of sarcoptic mange lesions may

Summary Of Your Inner Fish
I attended the talk on Your Inner Fish by Dr. Neil Shubin on Thursday the 6th of April. The talk itself
was based off the book Your Inner Fish, that Dr. Neil Shubin wrote in ______ year. In the beginning of
the talk he stressed the idea that to understand the human species it very much helps to understand
animals as well. The anatomy of our own bodies and the understanding of what everything does can
also be seen in other animals like fish. He believes that we are the cumulation of millions of years of
evolution and that we had to come from somewhere. Most of his talk addressed findings that support
the idea that animals formed from fish to animals like tetrapod s and then to something like us. He and
other colleagues discovered the Tiktaalik, which was a creature who had both elements of fish and
amphibians. This was amazing find for the world of paleontology and shows amazing evidence for the

world by relaying some of the information that we know as being apart of out interconnectedness from
one species. In reality his finding was a type of basis for humanity, it links our evolutionary world and
all species together. The idea that we are all divergent parts of one evolution, really shows that the

Personal Health Records Essay
Introduction
Increased public demand to access health information and growth of consumerism in health care
industry are two important reasons form increasing attention to Personal Health Records (PHRs) in the
recent years. Surveys show that a considerable number of people want to have access to their health
information. In one survey, 60 percent of respondents wanted physicians to provide online access to
medical records and test results, and online appointment scheduling; 1 in 4 said they would pay more
for the service.
Moreover, increasing costs of healthcare delivery and emerging trends toward patient empowerment

For this reason, some experts think that the term Personal Health Record is not descriptive enough and
can limit innovation and usage of these systems. Personal Health Record Systems (PHRS) and
Personal Health Platforms (PHP) have been suggested as more appropriate terms.
Types of PHRs
From an architectural point of view, PHRs can be divided into four different types.
Stand alone PHR: This is the simplest form of a PHR that does not connect with any other system. The
data is usually entered manually by the patient. This type of PHR can be in the form of USB devices,
CDs, smart cards, desktop applications, or even web based applications that can be accessed through
the internet. Although this model of PHR gives patient complete control over data and seems more
secure as it has no connection to other systems, it lacks the reliability and usefulness and is not
considered a preferred model. Stand alone PHRs can only be considered computerized versions of
paper based health records the some people keep.
Provider tethered PHRs: In this model, PHR is developed and maintained by a healthcare provider,
insurer, or employer. The type of health information that is stored in these PHRs is affected by the
nature of the provider business. For instance, in PHRs that are offered by insurers, the content is
mostly administrative and billing in nature. In the case of healthcare providers, PHR would be a
customized view of

Stress And Stress Related Stress
Stress is a common problem in modern day life today. It is a basic thing of everyday life and there is
no way to completely escape it. Most people associate stress with a negative situations; however,
whether the stress related problem is negative or positive, the important key is how you respond to it.
People experience stress in many different ways. Because stress has negative effects, it will usually
manifest itself it one way or another. Stress is not avoidable but it can be managed with different
techniques. In order to minimize risks due to stress is to identify stress related problems early. This is
to avoid serious stress related illnesses to occur. According to Hans Selye, one of the fathers of stress
research, stress is considered to be a combination of situations that trigger the emotional and physical
reactions. The stress response is the reactions themselves. My son studied very hard to take his drivers
permit test in order to begin his driving lessons. He eventually took the test; however, he failed the
test. He was so upset and disappointed for failing the test. He studied so much that he was confident
he would pass the test with flying colors. In this situation, the permit test was the potential stressor.
The stress response was being upset and disappointed for failing the test. This caused him to
experience stress. It took him a while to pick himself up and bring him to the point to take the test
again without feeling that he will fail

Essay about A Biography of Josephine Baker
A Biography of Josephine Baker
Josephine Baker was born Freda Josephine MacDonald in St. Louis, Missouri to her unwed parents:
Carrie McDonald and Eddie Carson. Her father soon left the family and Josephine had to help her
mother support herself and her three younger half siblings. At age eight, she got a job working as a
maid for a white family (Robinson). At age 12, she had dropped out of school to work. By age 14, she
had moved out, been married, and separated from her first husband. She would later go onto marry
and divorce three more men. Never was she financially dependent on any man, including her
husbands.
Her stage career began in 1919 in the United States when she toured with The Jones Family Band and

In 1936, Josephine attempted a return to the United States to star in the Ziegfield Follies. Due to the
still prevalent racism in the United States, she was greeted with negative reviews. Americans were not

(About).
Just a few years later, World War II spread across Europe. Josephine helped out France in every way
she could: performing for troops, being an honorable correspondent for the French Resistance
(smuggling secret messages), and serving as a sub lieutenant in the Women s Auxiliary Air Force

In the 50s and 60s, Josephine returned to the United States to help fight racism. She refused to
perform in any club or theatre that was not integrated (Lewis). This resulted in the breaking of the
color bar in many establishments, especially in Las Vegas. May 20 was named Josephine Baker day

1
Synopsis (I)
Many of the international alliances being formed today are still too young for us to evaluate their full
impact. The case of Xerox and Fuji Xerox gives us a unique opportunity to trace the evolution of such
an alliance over a long period of time. We can learn a lot from this experience, and try both to avoid
Xerox s mistakes and copy Xerox s success.
2
While this case is about a particular type of alliance a separate enterprise owned by Xerox and Fuji
Photo Film it also contains elements of other types of alliance. The relationship between Xerox and
Fuji Xerox, for example, is itself managed through a series of technology and marketing contracts,

1. Performance and the alliance before 1990 Evaluation of success Measure of the success Success
measure vs. success factors Key success factors Transition
11
An effective question with which to begin the evaluation of the alliance is: What was the role of Fuji
Xerox in Xerox s global strategy before 1990?
12
Key points
1. Fuji Xerox enables Xerox to sell in the Japanese market, as the government requires a joint venture
as that time. This point highlights the role of the government policy in alliance strategies. 2. Because
Fuji Xerox was driven by the needs of the Japanese market, it developed capabilities and products that
were different from those of its American parent, and that later turned out to be valuable. Simply put,
it developed small copiers, while Xerox ignored this segment.
13
3. Later on, Fuji Xerox provided Xerox with a window on the Japanese competition their
technologies, the features they were working on, their strategies, and so on. Due to contacts between
engineers and general publicity in Japan surrounding new products, Fuji Xerox would learn about new
developments long before they were embodied in exports to U.S.. 4. Fuji Xerox benefited directly
from the technologies being developed in related industries in Japan, just as its local competitors.
14
5. Fuji Xerox also helped Xerox learn new management approaches, I.e. Total Quality Management.

Stop And Frisk In The United States
With president elect Donald Trump compilatning reinstating the stop and frisk people around the
country mostly in the major cities have began fearing for there civil rights. One of the reason they are
in fear is because stop and frisk has been notice that it could poetically violate our civil rights as
americans. The main reason president elect Donald Trump wants to reinstate stop and frisk is because
its has shown to decrease murders and dangerous felines to be carrying weapons on the street. This is
a major problem in policing field, because it could potentially make police make a hardly decision on
americans. The decisions that police are going to be forces to make is if the person walking down the

The Importance Of Characters In The Color Of Water
I m dead. You want me to talk about my family and here I been dead to them for fifty years. Ruth
McBride Jordan. Ruth McBride Jordan is a strong Polish Jewish woman with 12 children who firmly
believes in work, school, and religion. Ruth undergoes many different changes within both herself and
her family throughout The Color of Water, causing her to change her name 3 times in a way of
reviving herself. These 3 names are significant with respect to her identity and her life because they
represent a time in her life where she tried to change in order to make her it better. These name
changes lead up to a manageable time of life for Ruth. The name Ruchel Dwarja Zylska is significant
because it represents her when she was young naive girl who didn t understand the aspects of life. The
second name, Rachel Deborah Shilsky, represents a time in her life where she tried to change her ways
in order to fit in. The final name, Ruth McBride Jordan, stands for a time when she finally moves on
with life and leaves behind all of the toxic things that once troubled her.
The name Ruchel Dwarja Zylska is significant because during this time, Ruth didn t fit in with others.
Since she had a Jewish name, she was an outcast which leads up to the first name change. As a young
girl, Ruth didn t really understand the aspects of life. In The Color of Water it states, In school the kids
called me Christ killer and Jew baby . The name stuck with me for a long time (pg. 31). Clearly, this

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Foreign Currency...
With the plethora of bonds, funds, stock, etc. available in the market an individual must have
sufficient information to make better financial decisions. To make this simple let us today look at
(FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond.
So what is foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB)? To make things much simpler we have broken
the word (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond into two simple words; foreign currency and
convertible bond.
Let us look at foreign currency, (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond is issued in a different
currency than the issuer s domestic currency. In other words a company would issue the bond in a
different/foreign currency apart from their own national/domestic currency. Therefore the principle

The bonds can be redeemed at maturity if not converted.
Disadvantages of foreign currency convertible bond
More risk of volatility of the market as more than one economy come into picture.
There is a risk of exchange as the interest is to be paid in foreign currency. In other words if the
exchange rate increases the issuer will have to pay more to the investors.
If the stock price is lower than the redemption amount investors would seek redemption of bond
instead of conversion; this may take a toll on the earnings of the company as the company will have to
refinance to fulfil the promise of redemption made.
Foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB) remains as a liability for the company and it shrinks the
current ratio of the company.
Conclusion:
Though being in practice for a long duration, foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) have
become very popular while raising funds at competitive rates. In India foreign currency convertible
bonds (FCCB) are considered as foreign direct investment (FDI) by the government of India. Foreign
currency convertible bonds (FCCB) are the more modern method of raising money for the company,
which takes advantage of the economies being truly global. Also factors like government policies and
regulation, exchange rate, and cost of conversion to stock/equity may influence investor s decision to
swap foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) into

Introduction
In a company there are 3 ways to generate capital, which can be generated internally through the sales
of assets or from profitable operations. Another was is from the issues of shares to potential investors
who are willing to contribute to the company and lastly borrowing from creditors. This report is

Companies Act 1993 in relation to Shareholders
Companies Act 1993 section 84 requires every company to have at least one shareholder and at least
one share . A common liability to shareholders is that they have an obligation to pay the amount that is
being owed in his or her shares if the company goes into liquidation. This liability is for the
shareholder of the current and the prior shareholder. In Section 96 of the Companies Act 1993 it states
that a shareholder is a person s name who is entered in the company s share register as being the
holder at that time of one or more shares in the company and section 51 states that shares are
considered issued once the holders name if entered in to the share register. Tryrion Holdings Ltd v
Claydon states in order to be a shareholder, the holder needs to be registered into the share register. In
this case Tyrion is not listed in the shareholder as there was no share register known and any direct
evidence of a share register existing. Neich v Roseka Ltd states that according to

I Am I m Scared
Mom, I m scared, trembled Juliana.
Of what? Mom retorted.
Of what? Of dying! the eldest sister shrieked. My other sister and I glanced at each other, too scared to
complain at that point. We were sitting at a wobbly picnic table, the surface of it almost as smooth as
marble because of the years of use, stuck in a room full of people bouncing their leg up and down with
sweat dribbling down their forehead while trying to sign the liability paper stating that death could
occur.
After you have signed the liability document, return it to the desk and head to the life jacket shack, a
counselor announced. Shack was an understatement. It consisted of well over two hundred jackets on
each wall and a man to aid in fitting them to each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We finally made it to the rickety rocky shore where we were supposed to put the boats in and float to
our inevitable death. My mom, sisters and I got assigned to a boat with another woman and her two
daughters.
Hi ladies, everyone here calls me McFly and man am I lucky to be on this boat today, our instructor
gawked at my mom and sisters, under the assumption that he was being flattering. He s already
annoying, bye bye McFly, I thought to myself.
Alright, purty ladies. First, let s start off with how to row, and what to do if you fall outta the boat,
McFly snickered. With those random tidbits of knowledge, we were off. Our boat led the others, since
McFly was the main instructor, which made me feel safe until he mentioned how he loved working at
ACE Adventure camp because he got to drink and party all weekend with his counselor buddies. After
that, my stomach flipped at just the mere sight of white water.
Whoosh! The water grumbled as it got swallowed by its own current wrapping around the rocks. Here
we go! McFly yelled over the powerful current. Everyone began to row their hearts out, putting so
much focus into making a rhythm like a beautiful orchestra. I drilled into my brain, rowing is vital,
vital to staying afloat, vital to staying alive. Our boat swiftly guided itself as the current carried it
through the rapids. First drop down, one to go.
Before the biggest wave, we drifted through the calm part of the river where Mcfly gave us a

Women s Role Of Women In The Meiji Restoration
Women in the Meiji Restoration During the Meiji era and revolution, the presence of strong leaders
led to the continuous progression of policies on the equality between sexes. The leaders urged the
female gender to arise and advocate for their rights. Fukuzawa Yukichi was the first scholar to speak
out on the rights of women inclusive of their positions and roles in the society. He made emphasis in
the creation of education policies for the women and their improvement within the society. The
American missionaries on their arrival to Japan advocated towards the abolishment of the mistress
customs and law. Also, patriarchy was inclusive of the policies they wanted to be abolished. Women
roles in the home were mainly characterized by them being good wives. They were required to obey
their husbands and raise intelligent children. The requirement was that they be obedient to the man of
the house that was their father, husband, and son when their husbands were deceased. The women
were responsible for cooking, taking care of both young and elderly, and fed the family members. The
Meiji government started the school policy with the advancement on the principle of gender equality.
The leaders and authority established it was essential to educate citizens to ensure the modernization
of Japan. An education code was created in 1872 with the establishment of approximately 20, 000
schools through the country. However, there were more boys than girls enrollment due to the Japanese

Factors That Influence Job Satisfaction
McGregor (1960) has done an analysis in a different way and formed X and Y theory. The Theory X
says that the people are control by a different way like controlled, directed, threatened with
punishment. Basically it s controlled in a way that people doesn t like. Theory Y is totally opposite and
it s the way the people are given authority to do their job at their own, means self directed.
Specifically in Brandix Theory X is not in use and by using Theory Y, people are motivated and
guided to work on their own. Sewing machine operators are trained to work on their own with the
LEAN initiatives. This is one of the best way to get their job satisfied. Factors that Influence Job

with 64% in each category being very satisfied with their jobs (Andres and Grayson, 2002). 1.3.6.
Consequences of job dissatisfaction Absenteeism: Failure to report to work absenteeism appears to be
associated with job dissatisfaction. A review of the literature on factors associated with job attendance
concluded that job satisfaction was one of the major influences on attendance, although it is only one
of the major factors. Turnover: Job satisfaction has effect on to determine staying in or leaving the
organization. If personnel are dissatisfied with their work, they are likely to leave from the
organization. If personnel believe that they are treated fairly and getting rewards they are unlikely to
leave the organization. Low Productivity: Most people believe that satisfied personnel are more
productive. But the available evidence suggests that the relationship between job satisfaction and
productivity is a very weak

Roe V. Wade And Its Impact On American Society
Taylor Corbett
HON 301 001
May 1, 2015
Final Project
Roe v. Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions have stirred up as
much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon
which much of American politics turns. In fact, the authors of Roe v. Wade: The Abortion Rights
Controversy in American History state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) remains the
most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century (3). Although it is a
landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and politics proves that its legacy
lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of law. Essentially, the most important points are
that the cause of the case s complexity and drama is the legal relationship between men and women
that the ruling mirrored and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the
political significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v. Wade
meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal, and that story begins
in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first state to explicitly criminalize abortion.
The primary purpose of this law was to spell out the conditions under which the state could prosecute
an abortionist for an abortion. The

As a business opportunity, there is scope for investment on new technologies in manufacturing. Within
the manufacturing sector, the significant reform includes the removal of licensing procedures for
investors, reduction of import tariffs, and liberalization of the capital rate. The result has been an
increase of 44% in FDI flows from 2005 to 2006[4].
Laws The economic policies for international business still have many restrictions. The most common
business organization used by foreign investors in India is the locally incorporated company, because
other forms such as partnerships are impossible under the Indian law. Companies may be public or

to fifty shareholders. The foreign investments policies of India are: 1. All foreign investment projects
require approval by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board. 2. The government permits foreign

Humbert And Lolita
Not only does he alter his claims, Humbert was also found to be blatantly lying to other people.
Shortly after Charlotte Haze s death he is met by the Farlows and is able to subtly convince them that
he is Lolita s actual father. Jean Farlow says, John, she is his child, not Harold Haze s. Don t you
understand? Humbert is Dolly s real father (Nabokov 101). Humbert is able to convince Jean by
telling her that he had an affair with Charlotte years ago. Jean is completely convinced as seen in her
statement towards her husband. She is repetitive in mentioning that Humbert is Lolita s father. In
addition she asks her husband if he is able to follow what she is trying to say. Humbert managed to
convince her that he is Lolita s true father which completely removes any suspicions on what he plans
to do with Lolita. If Humbert failed to convince her, they might have questioned who should take
custody of Lolita thus ending Humbert s plans. Seeing that Humbert can convince others of untruthful
things there is no guarantee in the legitimacy of what he tells the reader. Making it difficult for readers
to believe his defense. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He mentions, The reader will regret to learn that soon after my return to civilization I had another bout
with insanity (Nabokov 34). Humbert knows that the jury will not like knowing that he is not sane all
the time. This is also not the first time he has had this problem as he acknowledges this as another
bout with insanity. By telling the jury about this, Humbert has left a negative impression on the
readers. Now readers can view him as insane and should be more cautious about the evidence that he
brings to the table. It is worth mentioning that Humbert does this knowingly so it is possible that it is a
part of his plot to manipulate the reader and purposely alter their views on his

Each ad is directed to a different group of people with a different type of message. There are some not so serious ads for things such as food, shopping, or services. Then, there are some for more serious subjects such as bullying, safe driving, drug abuse, and many others, these are usually labeled as a public service announcement. The purpose of this paper is to look at a particular ad in depth and discuss the different aspects of it. Ads have more meaning behind them than people normally realize, so that is the goal of this paper. In this particular ad by EKBURG.RU, it is focusing on the number of car accidents. Ratio Analysis is used for evaluation of performance of the company by internal as well as external users. These comprises of managers, equity investors, long term creditors and short term creditors. Higher the profitability, higher is the chances of promotion. Thus, managers are always very keen to analyze the different financial ratios of the company. Higher profitability ratio is helpful in increasing the market value of the company. The market ratios like dividend yield, price earnings ratio, earnings per share etc. is useful in determining the exact position of the company s market share. Favorable market ratio indicates the increase in market capitalization for investors and vice versa. The equity investors are also interested in knowing the solvency ratio as high debt will pose danger to the ownership of the company. • 4. Narrative About Anxiety The anxiety started when we checked into the hotel. I was in Syracuse with three of my best friends, ready to have a weekend full of exhilaration and laughter. Hey girls! I have the keys to our hotel room, would you like to go put your luggage away before we go to the mall? my friends mom asked cheerfully. We all replied yes, and made our way to the room so we could get ourselves settled. After Kendall, Lauren, Jaidan, and I were unpacked and ready to go, we walked to the car and drove to Destiny USA Mall. As we got closer to the mall, my anxiety started to build. We were going to go on the mall s infamous four story tall ropes course! When I looked over at the other girls, they all seemed relaxed and carefree. I tried to replicate ... When I looked up I saw that Jaidan had slipped off of one of the ropes and she was hanging onto the course with only her harness. I rushed up to help her, and saw that Lauren had slipped below me while she was also trying to reach Jaidan. I was so determined to make it to them that I almost slipped off of one of the obstacles too! By the time Kendall, Lauren, Jaidan, and I met up again, we were all so rattled with fear that we decided it would be better to climb off of the course. Lauren and I leaped across the course like kangaroos trying to get off of it. By the time we reached the wooden bridge that would lead us back to flat ground, our breaths were ragged and we were more scared than a cat in a lion s cage. We ripped our harnesses off and threw them back onto the hooks. The other girls took a little longer to catch up with us, but once they also came off the course and met us, we were all relieved beyond belief. Although we were still left shaking, we all felt courageous. Even though we hadn t completed the course, or done it as gracefully as we might ve hoped, we still pushed ourselves onto the ropes course that we had all been so afraid of. • 5. Analysis Of Jeffrey Jerome Cohen s Monster Culture Monster Culture (Seven Thesis) By Jeffrey Jerome Cohen In this reading, Cohen proposes a sketch of a new modus legendi, meaning, a method of reading cultures from the monsters they engender. (Monsters page 11) He also says that he s going to break some rules from recent cultural studies. Now, Cohen offers seven theses towards understanding cultures through monsters by their character, appearance and representation, such as: Vampires, the Alien, Frankenstein, Werewolves, Grendel, the Boogey man, and etc. First Thesis pretty much says that monsters always are symbols and representations of culture. The monster is born only at this metaphoric crossroads, as an embodiment of a certain cultural moment of a time, a feeling and a place. (Monsters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Monsters are part of an imagination so they exist only to be read. (Monsters page 12) Second Thesis says The monster always escapes. In this case the monster gets away with it too but this monster damaged a lot of things that can t be undone. So the monster escapes meaning it is never truly destroyed or defeated because there s always something it left behind. They can never be caught but they can also return in a different form way to get back at those who tried to destroy them. Third Thesis basically explains that monsters cannot be categorized in the animals or people. As Cohen says they are disturbing hybrids whose externally incoherent bodies resist attempts to include them in any systematic structuration. (Monsters page 14) Their physical and psychological characteristics just don t fit in classification because they can be half human, half animal and may have some other deforms. Fourth Thesis explains the monster is an outsider , they are different so it depends on cultural, political racial economic, sexual. (Monsters page 16) Monsters have aspects. Producing sustainable competitive advantage Essay ஽ Academy of Management Executive, 2005, Vol. 19, No. 4 Reprinted from 1995, Vol. 9, No. 1 ........................................................................................................................................................................ Producing sustainable competitive advantage through the effective management of people* Jeffrey Pfeffer Executive Overview Achieving competitive success through people involves fundamentally altering how we think about the workforce and the employment relationship. It means achieving success by working with people, not by replacing them or limiting the scope of their activities. It entails seeing the workforce as a source of strategic advantage, not just as a cost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The point here is not to throw out conventional strategic analysis based on industrial economics but simply to note that the source of competitive advantage has always shifted over time. What these five successful firms tend to have in common is that for their sustained advantage, they rely not on technology, patents, or strategic position, but on how they manage their workforce. The Importance of the Workforce and How It is Managed As other sources of competitive success have become less important, what remains as a crucial, differentiating factor is the organization, its employees, and how they work. Consider, for instance, Southwest Airlines, whose stock had the best return from 1972 to 1992. It certainly did not achieve that success from economies of scale. In 1992, Southwest had revenues of $1.31 billion and a mere 2.6% of the U.S. passenger market.4 People Express, by contrast, achieved $1 billion in revenues after only 3 years of operation, not the almost 20 it took Southwest. Southwest exists not because of regulated or protected markets but in spite of them. During the first three years of its history, no Southwest planes were flown. 5 Southwest waged a battle for its very existence with competitors who sought to keep it from flying at all and, failing that, made sure it did not fly out of the newly constructed Dallas Fort Worth international airport. To be a good leader means that not only does one have to be effective but also be able to go above and beyond just simply reaching the goal in mind. A good leader sets to make an impact in many different people s lives. A good example of the difference between an effective leader and a good leader would be Ron and Deborah Hall in The Same Kind of Different as Me. Because of the high cost and amount of time that it takes to learn how to use a different company s medical equipment, most doctors use one company s products for life. Stryker has always recognized the existence of brand loyalty and has made it a top priority to develop excellent relationships with its customers. Hospitals that use Stryker s equipment are more likely to continue to buy from Stryker because of their diverse product offerings. Stryker continues to have a consistent flow of new products that expand markets. They just recently bought MAKO Surgical Corp. for $1.65billion, which develops robotic technology for hip and knee replacement surgeries. As long as Stryker continues to develop innovate new products and acquire its competition will continue to gain market share. Stryker has a Quick ratio of 3.08, which shows it has the ability to meet any short term cash needs. Stockholders Equity has increased by 8.18% from Q2FY12 to Q2FY13. This tells me that it is very unlikely that they will face any financial difficulty in the near future. It also indicates they have the cash flow to continue growing through acquisitions. DISRUPTIONS One disrupter for Stryker and all companies in the med tech industry will be the new Affordable Health Care Act. The Affordable Health Care Act will include a 2.3% excise tax on medical devices. For Stryker, 2.3% of their revenues is $100million dollars, which is 20% of their R D budget. It only reduces social problems because it allows people to disrespect others by basically calling them out of their names. The Importance Of National Honor Society The first idea I believe National Honor Society should participate in is hosting a Memorial Day celebration for the families in our community that have lost loved ones due to serving our country. I think this would be amazing because it would give the people in our community a sense that they are not alone and introduce them to people that they can lean on. At this event, we could have food/treats and potentially an open microphone where people would be able to share the story of their loved one(s). • 13. Essay On Sallust, Catiline s War Classics 201: Dr. T. Rose Parth Patel Topic #3: Sallust, Catiline s War In this paper, I will discuss the historic events of a Roman coup as written by Gaius Sallustius also known as Sallust. Early Rome, according to Sallust s best knowledge, was built by two groups of people, exiled Trojan soldiers under Aeneas and native aborigines without government or law. For a time after the founding of this settlement, they prospered and no ill intents of human nature toward another were found. As the city continued to grow in wealth, size, and number it was soon the envy of neighboring kingdoms who were wrought with greed. The Romans having held ground and won these neighboring kingdoms through battle, established a city founded on monarchy law and created allies with nearby kingdoms. After the seed of tyrannical rule was developed Rome changed government and appointed two rulers with annual power, the king and the senate. • 14. Sarcoptic Mange Research Paper Sarcoptic mange is a common parasitic disease of the skin among mammalian species, including dogs. In dogs, this non seasonal and highly contagious infection is caused by infestation with the mite Sarcoptes scabiei var. canis (Espinosa et al. 2017). These adult mites have four pairs of short legs, grow in a circular shape 0.2 0.6 mm long, and covered with small triangular spines (Arlian Vyszenski Moher 1988). The ovigerous females can grow up to twice as large as males, and they burrow tunnels in the host s stratum corneum to lay eggs. The mite has a direct life cycle that lasts from 10 13 days (Arlian Vyszenski Moher 1988). Demodectic mange is another persistent inflammatory parasitic skin disease among dogs. Two subtypes of demodectic mange, squamous and pustular (Healey Gaafar 1977), are differentiated according to the type of skin lesion seen. The parasites responsible, Demodex canis mites, are commonly found in small numbers in the skin of healthy dogs. In the beginning of the talk he stressed the idea that to understand the human species it very much helps to understand animals as well. The anatomy of our own bodies and the understanding of what everything does can also be seen in other animals like fish. He believes that we are the cumulation of millions of years of evolution and that we had to come from somewhere. Most of his talk addressed findings that support the idea that animals formed from fish to animals like tetrapod s and then to something like us. Personal Health Record Systems (PHRS) and Personal Health Platforms (PHP) have been suggested as more appropriate terms. Types of PHRs From an architectural point of view, PHRs can be divided into four different types. Stand alone PHR: This is the simplest form of a PHR that does not connect with any other system. The data is usually entered manually by the patient. This type of PHR can be in the form of USB devices, CDs, smart cards, desktop applications, or even web based applications that can be accessed through the internet. Although this model of PHR gives patient complete control over data and seems more secure as it has no connection to other systems, it lacks the reliability and usefulness and is not considered a preferred model. Stand alone PHRs can only be considered computerized versions of paper based health records the some people keep. Provider tethered PHRs: In this model, PHR is developed and maintained by a healthcare provider, insurer, or employer. The type of health information that is stored in these PHRs is affected by the nature of the provider business. For instance, in PHRs that are offered by insurers, the content is mostly administrative and billing in nature. In the case of healthcare providers, PHR would be a customized view of ... He eventually took the test; however, he failed the test. He was so upset and disappointed for failing the test. He studied so much that he was confident he would pass the test with flying colors.
