Shakespeare s Most Famous Soliloquy With A Mark Of Their...
Actors interpret Shakespeare s most famous soliloquy with a mark of their own artistry.
In films and on stage, actors who play Hamlet exhibit various degrees of emotion and pacing
speed. It is difficult to evaluate the soliloquy on its own because the way the play is performed in
its entirety gives meaning to the soliloquy while the soliloquy also illuminates a special
interpretation in the play. However, I argue that the soliloquy has a musical structure a sonata
form, specifically that can serve as a framework under which performances can be analyzed.
Even though they were viewed discretely from their entire play, there are performances of the
soliloquy that may be considered more effective than others under the framework examined
under the sonata form.
The sonata form usually has three main parts: the exposition, the development, and the
recapitulation. In the exposition, the composer introduces a theme that will set the groundwork
for the entire work. Once the theme is introduced, it is often played in a different key but in a
parallel structure. Hamlet s soliloquy begins with the theme of the uncertainty of death: To be
or not to be, that is the question. The rest of the soliloquy expands on this central theme as it
clearly sets the groundwork for Hamlet s internal struggle. A repeat of this theme is heard when
Hamlet speaks, To die: to sleep; No more. Now instead of considering the difficulties and
possibly the nobler act of

Application Of The Traditional Enterprise Architecture Essay
The traditional enterprise architecture, is currently using MPLS as a sole mean for connectivity
with small internet traffic. Due to recent shifts in the marketplace the traditional architecture is
challenging to satisfy todays enterprise environments.
The shift includes emerging technologies that require emerging cloud computing, video and

The Tensions between Line Mangers and Human Resources Practitioners in Modern Organisations
Human resources management is a business department and function that has the strategic approach
to the management of the company s employees. Armstrong (2006, p.3) defines HRM as a strategic
and coherent approach to the management of an organisation s most valuable assets the people
working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of it objectives. The
HR business function provides an organisation with administrative support regarding the laws and

With recruitment HR play a very active part in recruiting a new employee for a position within
the company. It is the responsibility of HR to carry out the administration for this. HR will
organise adverting the position, they will, prepare the job description and specification and
contracts for the position, according to Personnel Today Website (2001) A total of 30 per cent
of respondents said their HR departments always controlled temporary staff recruitment, 36 per
cent revealed HR was mostly responsible and 20 per cent said that their HR departments were
never responsible for recruitment of temporary staff. It is believed that HR take control of the
recruitment process to save on costs and make the process more efficient. When applicants have
applied for the position HR will then shortlist for the interviews. Here is where conflict may
occur as line manager may feel that they are having limited control over how employees are
being recruited and their requirements from the employee are not being met, this can
subsequently result in a high staff turn over than can be cost more financially to the business in
the long term. However if a line manger and HR are to work closely together during the
recruitment process conflict can be reduced and the needs of the manager can be met the
Personnel Today Website (2001) adds It is not a question of cutting out the middle man it is more a
question of how the HR and line managers

My Observation At The Mall Center Mall
For my observation, I decided to go the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida to observe the
advertisements that are present in our community. I went to the mall to conduct research because
I need to make a purchase for a vacation, so I thought this was the perfect place to go. Each store
I walked into, there were advertisements for instant savings, but the further I walked into any
store, the prices climbed higher. Truthfully, I was shocked by the amount of people who did not
care that they were being bamboozled. Initially, we were told at the front of the store that there
were discounts, but we had to find out on our own that the prices raised exponentially. This was the
exact reason why I wanted to conduct my observation at the... Show more content on

Cliff Freeman said that people would kill anything that they thought of before they had the chance
because they got nervous. Lee Clow goes on to say that those business professionals have no
creativity, trust, or bravery when letting them, the advertisers, develop an idea. These people have
conquered the skill of persuasion and have mastered how to make the audience feel a connection to
their brand. Their creativity and knowledge helped me better my understanding of the advertising
world.
Library Research At first, I had no idea where to start my research. I would go on Google and try
to learn anything that I can that related to advertising. But that was too broad to start my research
because that really did not give me enough information. I had to change my approach to
researching because typing in advertising on Google was not going to do me any justice. But I
after reading about suggestions on where to start researching, I went on Youtube and watched a
couple of TedTalks about advertising.
I found a TedTalk by Jean Kilbourne titled The Dangerous Ways Ads See Women. I thought this
would be a perfect foundation towards answering my question. Although this is a popular source,
Kilbourne discussed about women body image issues in the United States and how there is a
psychological effect that impacts the way that women present themselves. This video helped me get

Paper Towel Experiment Essay
This experiment was conducted at Horry Georgetown Technical College in South Carolina, on
January 30, 2018. Each group conducted two experiments to determine the strength and
absorbency of Great Value Brand paper towels and Sparkle. To test the strength of each paper
towel brand, metal weights (each measuring 28.88g) were placed onto the center of the paper towel
after it was wet with 10mL of water. Both paper towelbrands were lifted off the table surface with
various weights until the paper towel ripped. The data recorded in grams is placed on a table
(Figure ) for each group so that the experiment is completed and recorded a total of six times. The

To test the absorbency of each of the paper towel brands they were folded into 6th s and placed
into a 250 mL glass beaker containing 100 mL of tap water (H20). Each of the paper towel
brands absorbed water in the beaker for 30 seconds and were lifted from the water for 30
seconds so that the excess water may drop off. The tap water remaining was later poured back
into the 100mL to measure the paper towel absorbency. To get the total amount of tap water
(H20) absorbed, the formula used was 100mL X mL = Absorbency mL. The independent
variable for this experiment is the brand of paper towels which is Great Value Brand and
Sparkle. The dependent variable is the amount of tap water (H20) absorbed of the 100mL of tap
water (H20). For this experiment the controlled variable is the amount of tap water (100mL)
placed into the 250mL glass beaker, as well as the size of the paper towels ( ) . Other control
variables would be the amount of time the paper towel was placed into the tap water (30
seconds) as well as the amount of time it was left to drip (also 30 seconds). The way of which the
water was measured through the 100mL plastic graduated cylinder and the way in which the paper
towels are picked up is also a controlled

Tanning Bed Essay
Melanoma is the fifth most common cancer among men and the sixth most common cancer in
women (Melanoma Statistics). According to the Melanoma Research Foundation, the chances of
getting melanoma increases by 75% if one uses a tanning bed before the age of thirty. (Why is
tanning dangerous?). In addition, every one in three cancers diagnosed are diagnosed as skin cancer,
and nearly 75% of patients diagnosed have admitted to using a tanning bed at least once in their
lives. Although in some states it may be legal to use tanning beds under the age of eighteen, tanning
beds have been proven to cause melanoma and skin damage when used inappropriately. There are
nearly forty two states within the United States where they allow minors to use tanning beds under
the age of eighteen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reasoning behind this is because tanning beds are bad for one s skin, health, and no one
takes into consideration how much damage they can cause. 35% of all American adults, 59% of
college students, 17% of all teens tan, but yet no one seems to realize the damage because it is
so easy to become addicted to. Tanning beds have been declared as carcinogen (cancer crawling
substances). Tanning beds can lead to long term effects like wrinkling in the skin, damage to
collagen of skin, cataracts and mutations that impair the DNA s normal functions. But tanning beds
can also lead to eye cancer and damage to the tissue. There are many other things out there that
people can use instead of going into a tanning bed and damaging their skin each time they go. They
have things such as tanning lotion, creams or sprays that are not harmful to the body. Endorphins
trigger a positive feeling in the body, easily comparable to morphine, ( Why is tanning dangerous?
) But they re also short term effects that come along with using tanning beds such as redness of the
skin, dark spots, DNA damage, thickening of the epidermis (inflamed or swollen), sunburn or sun

Home Schooling Is A Good Idea
You may be asking yourself, how did home schooling begin? What was it like? Well, in the 1970
s and the 1980 s home schooling began to spark. A few parents question whether public or
private school was right for their child. They were thinking they could do a better job. Well, what
do you know; parents learned they could do a better job. However, some states, prohibited home
schooling. If parents or guardians were home schooling, they could face jail time as well as losing
their children to the courts. Some parents were being arrested and some were taken to jail
(Homeschooling: Getting Started). Even today we have people who are against home schooling.
Our President of the United Stated, Obama, he doesn t believe home schooling is a good idea. He
believes public school should start as soon as age 3. He also said that students in middle and high
schoolshould complete 50 hours of community service before they are able to go to the next grade
level (Will Obama Use UN Policy to End Homeschooling in America?).
A crucial part of an education outside of the home is the interaction amongst the students that is
used to prepare them to have constructive engagements with fellow citizens when their schooling is
over. Interacting with other children who may be taught different belief systems and come from
different social economic statuses and religious or ethnic backgrounds prepare students for their
future, where the potential of having to deal with someone who is different is

The Social and Economic Changes Made by the Communists in China in 1949
On his ascension to power in China in 1949, Chairman Mao said: The People s Republic of China
will strive for independence, democracy, peace, unity, prosperity and strength. Little did Mao know
it would be nine years, and many reforms later that China would still be striving for those things.
Mao would start a whole series of reforms aimed to appease and change the public, starting with
the Marriage Law. The Marriage Law stated that women had to be 18 years and men 20 years in
order to marry; thus preventing the marriage of children which had gone on for years before
Communist rule. Women were given more rights, divorce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In line with advances in farming, the Communists had to make changes in the economy so that
it could be sustained. The first major change the Communists made in this field was to take
major banks, railways and a proportion of heavy industry back into public control. All the profits
were taken from private owners and put into the State Treasury. In 1951, A People s Bank was
opened to replace private banks, and to remove inflation (such inflation that had been seen sky
rocketing before the Communists came to power). In addition, as farmers were producing more
grain, to avoid food shortages they had to sell the Government 15 20% of their produce at a low
price.
China needed investment to fund their ever growing country s needs. Mao went to the USSR to
receive aid. Unfortunately, China received just $300M but more importantly a vital 10,100
engineers to fund their first five year plan. China used this money to develop heavy industry, which
was necessary to save the country from future turmoil. 700 new production plants helped China to
double their output of coal, oil and cement and quadruple the amount of pig iron, steel and fertilizer
produced. These types of advances had never been seen before in China, yet they did not come
without a cost. Light industry, such as cotton making, was neglected whilst this

Out West Roy De Forest Analysis
Out West by Roy De Forest is a spectacular painting that is defined by its multiple assorted colors,
patterns and textures. Forest described himself by stating the following: I have always been a
novelistic painter, and even when I was making abstract painting it was like creating a map,
basically, and the map then turns into a landscape and the landscape adds figures... . The artist
modeled this paintingafter various parts of his own childhood. Each part is a different memory
Forest has from his life creating a unique relationship between the piece and the artist. Most likely,
this piece was significant to Forest because it holds memories from his life; therefore, this work is
a great representation of the unique types of paintings he creates. His pieces are filled with many

Similar to the dogs, the people are not the same colors. After examining this piece, I noticed that the
man with lighter skin color is relaxing while the man with darker skin color is on top of the horse
with a worried expression on his face. The man is looking to the left side of the painting, also
where the third dog discussed is looking. While there is no obvious reason for their eyes being
focused in another direction, the artist created variety to his art by doing so. In addition to the
animal s and people s eyes looking in different directions, their eyes are distinct colors. The dark
furred dog as well as the man with dark skin both have noticeably red eyes. However, each other
person or animal has blue eyes. Although their may be no real significant to this in the artist s
perspective, it is an aspect that was almost immediately noticeable when analyzing this piece at the

Over the past forty years, there have been banned books that have been created by some of the
most famous authors that we know today including V.C. Andrews and Maya Angelou. One might
wonder why a children s book such as, Winnie the Pooh, could ever be banned? This classic book
children all around the world enjoy, unfortunately can not be enjoyed in the small town of Tuszyn,
Poland because Pooh is half dressed and he does not have a specific gender (Graef). The history of

Flowers in the Attic was banned for several reasons; incest between the mother, Corrine and
father, Chris, which is Corrine s half uncle. The sexual intercourse contents between the
daughter, Cathy, and the son, Christopher. Many schools and libraries have banned this book for
both those main reasons. Other reasons were because of the little food provided from the
grandmother, Olivia. She also locked Cathy, Carrie, Cory, and Christopher in the attic. Maybe,
maybe even a week, no longer, possibly much less time I just don t know exactly (Andrews, 41).
The mother promised she would come back, but she left them in the attic for almost four years,
and she came sometimes to check on the children, but she was too caught up in making her dad
write her in his will that she no longer cared for her children. The incest between Corrine and
Chris caused lashes on her back from her mother, Olivia. I stared at the ladder of bloody welts on
Momma s back (Andrews, 76). The grandmother is completely dedicated to the bible and
therefore when the grandmother figured out what the mother had done, she showed the children
what she would do if they did the same as their sinful mother. After the children were petrified of
the grandmother, they tried to do all that she requested and obey all her rules. Until one day Cathy

The standard rifle of the British army during World War I was the Lee Enfield .303, a variation
of a weapon that had been used by the army since 1902. Fed by a magazine that could hold 10
bullets, the bolt action Lee Enfield was a robust, reliable rifle well suited to the harsh conditions of
trench warfare. A trained regular soldier could fire 15 rounds per minute with the weapon. In fact,
it was so successful that further variants were used throughout World War II and, in some countries,
for decades after that. German infantry, meanwhile, were issued with the Gewehr 98, a rifle with a

The Power Of Poetry In Terence This Is Stupid Stuff By A....
The Power of Poetry Terence This is Stupid Stuff, by A.E. Housman compelling work of poetry
that addresses mainly the theme of the power of poetry and why we should read poetry. Many
sections in this poem portray this theme, but one line that shows it best is the section in which
Terence, the person whose perspective the poem is being told through, explains that you need to
read little bit of poetry so you will be prepared when hard times come to you. Another section that
portrays this theme of the powerof poetry and why we should read poetry is the section in which
Housman is talking about the fact that, when you get drunk, the world seems great and you are
happy, but the happinessis temporary, but poetry helps you permanently. A third section that
portrays this theme of the power of poetry and why we should read poetry is the section in which
Terence is talking about King Mithridates, and that he built up an immunity to the world s poisons
by eating little bits of the poisonso when others tried to assassinate him, he was immune. Terence
suggests that poetry can be like little bits of poison, so when the bad times come, you will be
ready. Terence This is Stupid Stuff, by A.E. Housman is about the theme of the power of poetry
and why we should read poetry. One section that portrays the theme of the power of poetry and
why we should read poetry is the section in which Terence explains that you need to read little
bit of poetry so you will be prepared when hard times come to you. Terence s friends ask him to
read a poem, but when he reads a very sad poem, they point out that he is fine, so he shouldn t
read poetry. Terence responds by telling them that even if you aren t sad, you should still read
poetry because it will prepare you for times when you are sad or are in bad times because you
will be able to see what struggles people have been through and can relate to them. This is shown
in the quote, . This section shows that Housman thinks that people should read poetry even when
they are not sad because it feels like you have that you can relate to. He also says that it helps
when you can experience what someone else has experienced because you don t feel lonely when

Analysis Of Anne Bradstreet And Edward Taylor
Anne Bradstreet and Edward Taylor are two of the most distinguished and fervent Puritan poets.
Yet this similarity has proven to be one of the few, if not only between these two. One cannot
help but find it intriguing that poets who belong to the same religious group and style would
write so differently. Many of these differences are not even subtle or hidden beneath the text
itself. The differences themselves hold implications and ideas that differ between each poet. The
first difference which is the most obvious would be the style of each respected poet. Every poet
has a unique style, but generally those who belong to the same period or set of ideas have similar
styles. Between Bradstreet and Taylor there are no similarities in style. Taylor can be considered a
much more polished poet. Taylor s poetryis full of poetic techniques and advanced styling tools
such as the iambic meter and advanced rhyming schemes. This style can be seen as the norm for
a highly educated preacher which Taylor was. Bradstreet on the other hand has a more simplistic
style that can be seen as the voice of the common or average Puritan. Therefore, there is far less
ornamentation in her poetry. If one compares the Bradstreet s Here Follows Some Verses Upon
the Burning of Our House, July 10th, 1666. and Taylor s From God s Determinations. One can see
the difference in syntax clearly. Bradstreet uses simple diction while tackling the topic of her
burning house. She uses simple and

America Chavez Evolution
The Evolution of Women throughout Comics Between the years of 1938 to 2017, traditional
gender roles slowly broke down and evolved, whether it d be in politics, entertainment, or literature.
To be more specific, superhero comics such as Superman (1938), Wonder Woman (1941), Fantastic
Four (1961), Watchmen (1986), and America Chavez (2017), all comprised in shaping the
traditional beliefs of genderroles and empowered change. Although traditional gender norms are
still an issue today, comics have attempted at times, but also succeeded in breaking down barriers

Studying Stress among Law Enforcement Officers
In contemporary society, a police office is a bonded and warranted employee of a law
enforcement organization, be it a local, regional, or state police force; a federal law agency, or a
more specific correctional facility or other law enforcement organization. The specific reason
society has law enforcement is that groups of people living together do not always exist in
harmony, and it is the job of the policeofficer to maintain public order, prevent and detect criminal
activity, apprehend criminals, collect evidence, and see that the due process of law is followed
within their given duty range. Under the rubric of the Western democracies, the major role of the
police force is to keep order and discourage crime. Their organization is also asked to assist with
emergency and disaster services, emergency medical situations, and to assist citizens in need. The
duties of a police officervary so dramatically, that the safety and internal culture of a police force
differs from organization to organization (e.g. a Police Office in a large metropolitan area like
New York will have different duties and dangers than a County Sheriff in a rural Oklahoma area)
(Barlow, 2000).
Society has certain expectations of their law enforcement personnel, and that, combined with the
legal aspects and internal stress resulting from the constancy of danger and dealing with the
underside of society, supplies its own pressures to police officers. Officers are often in danger of
infectious disease,

The Futility Of Global Thinking
It s Your Decision: Concepts from The Futility of Global Thinking In The Futility of Global
Thinking writer Wendell Berry gives the people of the next generation advice on the problems
they may come in contact with, now that they re on their own. Berry goes into great detail
explaining what problems to look out for and what ideas to avoid when faced with a problem. He
is trying to help steer the next generation away from the mistakes previous generations have made
so they can truly make their own decision in how their lives are going to play out. One thing
Wendell Berry wants these graduates, the next generation, to avoid is not to make the mistake of
mislabeling things as planetary . One example he uses is how the environmental... Show more

In The Futility of Global Thinking, Berry kind of comes to the big corporations defense. He uses
the example of William Sound where, essentially, he says that it wasn t just big corporations that
put William Sound into one ship, the consumers demand for cheap and plentiful energy helped
guide their hand. Berry is trying to prevent the new generation from making the same mistake
previous generation have made, falsely dividing the world between the guilty producers and the
innocent consumers. If we as the consumer only see the problem as the producers (i.e. big
corporations) then we will not change our own behaviors and nothing will actually be solved.
This is what Berry was trying to get these graduates to understand. Continuing on the topic of
problems remaining unsolved, Berry mentions the reality of how people solve their problems.
And the reality of it is, people don t solve their problems. He points out the fact that a lot of
people do talk about their problems, and even talk about solving them. But that is all they do.
Berry words it as follows, though we have been talking about most of our problems for decades,
we are still mainly talking about them. This I agree with. People always talk about how they will
do something or change something, but when it actually comes down to it they do nothing about it.
I mentioned this in an earlier paper about cocoa farmers. There was this

Energy Resources And Nonrenewable Resources
Despite only being around for around two hundred thousand years, humanity has accomplished
many great tasks. Humans have been able to conquer most of the land on Earth. They have been
able to find ways to travel across huge landscapes in a matter of hours. They have developed ways
to grow and harvest their own food through agriculture. Humans even were able to send people into
space. Despite these accomplishments, they have all come at a great cost. Humans had to deforest
many areas in order to be able to live in those places. Almost all of the modern transportation relies
on the nonrenewable resource that is fossil fuels. As the population has grown, bigger farms were
made that consume loads of water. Due to these costs, the greatest threat to human sustainability is
our reliance on nonrenewable energy and resources. In order to shift from this path, humanity must
continue to move away from nonrenewable energy and develop renewable energy, and convince
businesses that this path is profitable. In the current system, the greatest threat to the survival of
humanity is the over reliance on nonrenewable energy resources. What generally comes to mind
with nonrenewable resources is fossil fuels, however trees and water can also be applied in this
situation. When the topic is about deforestation, some would argue that trees can grow back
making them a renewable resource. However, at the rate people are cutting them, the trees do not
have enough time to grow back. Sometimes trees

Similarities And Differences Between China And India
1. Introduction
Some of the most frequent economic discussions nowadays concern the power and unique growth
trajectories of emerging markets. Especially the two biggest countries population wise, China and
India, are subject to many recent academic works. Most of them analyze country specific
advantages as for example the vast pool of labor. However, there is an emerging trend towards
researches about the new paths of capability accumulation these two countries have followed. This
paper aims to illustrate the similarities and differences in the catch up process of an Indian and a

SAIC
SAIC was founded as state owned enterprise (SOE) under the direct control of the Shanghai
municipality. The company produced its first passenger vehicle in 1959, a reversed engineered
imitation based on the Mercedes 220s of 1956 targeting elite public officials (Nam, 2015).
Between 1970 and the 1980s SAIC achieved an annual production volume of 3000 5000 units,
which was sufficient to reach the market leadership in China due to the general repression of sedans.
Yet, the car manufacturer was unable to strengthen its extremely weak technological capabilities. In
order to do so, a joint venture between Volkswagen (VW) and SAIC, SVW, was founded in 1985
providing market access to VW and learning opportunities for SAIC. According to Thun, the
Chinese manufacturer was operating with decrepit assembly plants, outdated equipment based on
highly labor intensive procedures. Furthermore, it was embedded in an unfavorable environment
lacking competitiveness and supplier (Thun, 2006). The government of Shanghai initiated a
localization drive through tax methods, subsidized credits and monitoring (Nam, 2015).
Nevertheless, it supported SVW through relaxed foreign exchange constraints and put effort into
solving the problem of lacking suppliers (Nam,

Life After Morrie
1.) After Morrie received his diagnosis, he asked himself: Do I wither up and disappear, or do I

situation is the life that one has led. If one has led a boring, unfulfilled life and they will be more
likely to wither up and disappear. If one has led a fulfilling life then they will be more likely to

The Maple Leaf Has A Symbol Of Canadian Pride Essay
The Canadian flag was adopted by the Canadian Parliament October 22, 1964, and the official
inauguration ceremony took place February 15, 1965. Ever since, the maple leaf has been a
symbol of Canadian pride. The definition of colonization is a process by which a central system of
power dominates the surrounding land and its components. Although Canadahas seemed to have a
somewhat decent relationship with Britain, the British colonizers decided to take full control over
Canada while doing that the British treated the Native Americans with pure disrespect and treated
them pretty harsh overall therefore the British had a bad impact on Canada.
Before Great Britain had came and invaded Canada, Canada was heavily populated with families
and loved one and was home to many. For example, There were many colonies that lived in
Canada before the Britain colonizers arrived such as the Algonquin, Iroquois,Huron, and Inuit
tribes who had lived in there for thousands of years ( Canada ). This quote shows the number of
people and colonies that lived in Canada and how populated Canada was before the British came
and invaded. Exploration of Canada began in the eleventh century, when the Norse first reached
Newfoundland, but it was the voyages of Italian navigator John Cabot (c. 1450 c. 1499) in the late
fifteenth century that sparked European interest in establishing settlements there. ( Canada ). This

Frank Gehry

When everybody else is ready for the ending, I m just ready to begin, Frank Gehry once wrote. It s
been the story of my life (qtd. in Templer, 1999, pp.1) Laying the Foundation
Born on 28 February 1929 in Toronto, Canada, Frank O. Goldberg entered a household with a
strong Polish and Jewish heritage. Twenty years earlier, Thelma Caplanski left Poland with her
parents, a couple with deep religious morals. Once they settled in Toronto, the two decided to

Unfortunately, during these times, Frank saw how mean kids can be as he was given the
nickname Fish . People did not accept his religion, Judaism, and the nickname was supposed to put
him down but Frank would later use that as a basis for his some of his creations. During this time,
he explored atheism because of these difficulties (Hines, 1986).
Finding and Designing Love
After Frank s father grew sick, the Goldberg family moved to Los Angeles where some of the
family already resided. Ironically, they lived in an apartment that was close to where the Loyola
Law School would be built in later years, according to Frank s blueprints. At this time, the family
was struggling for money and Frank had to find a job. He worked as a delivery truck man who
installed breakfast nooks. It was through this job that Frank would meet Anita Snyder, a woman
who he married later in 1952. Two years later, with the permission of his family, Frank decided
to change their last name to Gehry. The couple had two daughters and the three followed Gehry
to an army base in Georgia (Hines, 1986) and then to Paris (Hines, 1986; Templer, 1999).
Eventually, got divorced in 1966. Frank s relationship problems are similar to those that Gardner

With regards to short term solvency Microline appears to be strong. Their current ratio rose from
.94 in 2010 to 1.27 in 2011. Their quick ratio also rose from .52 in 2010 to .75 in 2011. The
catalyst to this increase comes mainly from an increase in assets and not a decrease in liabilities. A
potential reason for this increase could be due to the fact that Microline signed a ten year note with
a debt covenant stating that the company needed to maintain a current ratio of 1or the note will
mature. This could have led the company to increase their account receivables and inventory in
order to bump up their assets to meet the debt covenant. There interest coverage increased from
2010 to 2011 from 3.8 in 2010 to 5.75 in 2011. This shows an increase in solvency where the firm
can cover the interest on it loans 5.75 times. However, their solvency in terms of interest coverage
comes into question as their short term equities account for $2500 which is not a reflection of
consistent cash flow generated from sales. Without the presence of short term equities Microlines
interest coverage actually falls from 3.8 in 2010 to 3.25 in 2011.

note and reclassified a short term note to long term which accounted for $7000. The direct result of
this shows an increase in the total debt from 47% in

Laundry Detergents As A Cleansing Agent
Introduction
Laundry detergents are a cleansing agent that is widely used in the industry to clean laundry. The
term detergent refers to mixtures of chemical compounds including Alkyl Sulphonates, which are
similar to soap but less affected by hard water (Farlex, 2014). Like soap, detergent increases the
ability of water to penetrate fabric and break down greases and dirt, however they are derived from
organic acids rather than fatty acids (Mifflin, 2005). A detergentis an ion or molecule that contains
both polar and nonpolar components. The polar component allows the detergent to dissolve in the
water, whereas the nonpolar component solubilizes greasy materials that are the usual target of
the cleaning process. Their molecules then surround the particles of grease and dirt, allowing
them to be carried away thus leaving your clothes clean. This EEI explores the performance of two
different laundry powders (Fab and Woolworths select Home brand) in different types of water;
ranging from soft to hard. These detergents were compared and analysed in different types of water
from varying locations to determine whether water hardness has an effect on the cleaning ability of
detergents, and whether products should be specifically formulated depending on the type of water.

elements that each play important roles in the laundry process depending on the cleaning tasks

Flippo Brunelleschi Accomplishments
Filippo Brunelleschi is considered a founding father of the renaissance, known for his innovative
contributions in art, design, and architecture. He developed brilliant techniques for linear
perspective and his artwork was acclaimed everywhere for its precision and beauty. In 1418, the
Cathedral of Florencewas about to undergo a seemingly impossible task. The unfinished Cathedral
was in need of a grand dome to complete the enormous hole in its roof. At the time, no one had
ever undergone building a dome as large as 150 feet across, especially at 180 feet above ground!
Even with all of the difficulties present, the city of Florence offered a large commission to the

Could a dome weighing tens of thousands of tons stay up without them? Was a dome structure
even possible given the octagonal floor plan, without collapsing in on itself? Not to mention the
fact that no lifting mechanisms were available at the time to maneuver the heavy materials so far
off the ground. Brunelleschi utilized innovative lifting inventions to deal with this problem. His
complex system of gears and pulleys were so incredibly groundbreaking, they wouldn t be rivaled
until the industrial revolution. He discovered a brilliant scientific way to account for every
problem looming over the project. He used two shells within the dome bound with large hoops,
supported by tension rings of stone, iron and wood. He built the first 46 feet in stone and continued
with brick, a much lighter material. This discovery is revolutionary even today, and it paved the
way for cultural and social revolutions of the Renaissance. Even though Brunelleschi invented the
idea and oversaw the entire production, he relied on the work of a devoted army of masons and

The Enlightment In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, readers can interpret that Shelley is highly critical of the
Enlightment movement s scientific calculated approach towards the understanding of the world.
Anthropocentrism dominated scientific and intellectual discourses so it believed that that science
and technology, will drive humans to the impossible feats and the understanding of the unknown.
Shelley s attacks this notion through the protagonist, Victor Frankenstein, who succumbs to an
ironic consequence; his aspiration to become a creator of life leads to failure and misery, becoming
even more disconnected from the world. However, it can also be interpreted how it was

with the Palestinians who live together with Israelis that has led to terrorism and tyranny. Israelis
believe they must control the Palestinians to stop their terrorism; while the Palestinians use

During April of 2002 Israeli soldiers attempted to destroy the Palestinian terrorist networks but
attacked several Palestinian cities in the progress. In addition too attacking terrorists the soldiers
destroyed much of the Palestinian government, including records, equipment, buildings, electricity

attempt to never allow the Palestinians to be independent.
However Israelis point of view is that the Palestinians are militant terrorists who will not
compromise for peace. Even when the Palestinians engaged for peaceful negotiations for peace they
demonstrated to back stab the Israelis by sending out terrorists attack in the progress of the meeting

Calvinist vs Anti-Calvinist in Dr.Faustus
The Calvinist/anti Calvinist controversy
The theological implications of Doctor Faustus have been the subject of considerable debate
throughout the last century. Among the most complicated points of contention is whether the play
supports or challenges the Calvinist doctrine of absolute predestination, which dominated the
lectures and writings of many English scholars in the latter half of the sixteenth century.
According to Calvin, predestination meant that God, acting of his own free will, elects some
people to be saved and others to be damned thus, the individual has no control over his own
ultimate fate. This doctrine was the source of great controversy because it was seen by the so
called anti Calvinists to limit man s free will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the greatest critics of Calvinism in Marlowe s day was Peter Baro, who argued that such
teachings fostered despair among believers, rather than repentance among sinners. He claimed, in
fact, that Calvinism created a theodical dilemma:
What shall we say then? That this question so long debated of the Philosophers, most wise men,
and yet undetermined, cannot even of Divines, and men endued with heavenly wisdom, be
discussed and decided? And that God hath in this case laid a crosse upon learned men, wherein they
might perpetually torment themselves? I cannot so think.[27]
Baro recognised the threat of despair which faced the Protestant church if it did not come to an
agreement of how to understand the fundamentals. For him, the Calvinists were overcomplicating
the issues of faith and repentance, and thereby causing great and unnecessary confusion among
struggling believers. Faustus himself confesses a similar sentiment regarding predestination:
The reward of sin is death. That s hard.
... If we say that we have no sin,
We deceive ourselves, and there s no truth in us.
Why then belike we must sin,
And so consequently die.
Ay, we must die an everlasting death.

Power Of Context By Malcolm Gladwell Essay
Conventional wisdom has it, that criminals commit crime of their own volition. This belief is based
on the concept that human character exists independently from their environment. Gladwell
challenges conventional wisdom, claiming that the matter is significantly more complex. Gladwell
s theory, Power of Context, basically identifies small details within an environmentand how they can
heavily influence said environment. The Power of Context is extremely enlightening; because it
sheds light on the observed behavior within Johnson s self organizing Manchester and Faludi s
archaic Citadel. Gladwell builds his theory off of the concept of Broken Windows, wherein
relatively minor problems like graffiti... [are] invitations to more serious crimes (Gladwell 152).
These findings challenge the conventional wisdom and draw distinct parallels with Johnson s
Manchester. Johnson sees similar behavior in the self organizing nature of Manchester s
neighborhoods, cities have lives of their own, with neighborhoods clustering into place without any
Robert Moses figure dictating the plan from above (Johnson 198). In other words, the environment
is a complex, living, breathing ecosystem that develops in harmony with its population and vice
versa. Where there is chaos, it breeds chaos. Neighborhoods with crime continue to produce crime
because of environmental variables. In contrast, one could argue that neighborhoods without crime
and strong citizen involvement would,

Checks and Balances
Checks and Balances. Checks and balances is a system that is a part of out U.S. Constitution.
This system was put in to place so that no part of government would have too much power. The
three branches: judicial, legislative and executive are constantly granting and checking the other
branches actions, this is to make sure no one person can gain an excessive amount of control in
government. For example according to , the legislative branch is in charge of making laws. The
executive branch can veto the law, thus making it harder for the legislative branch to pass the law.
The judicial branch may also say that the law is unconstitutional and thus make sure it is not a
law.The legislative branch can also remove a president or judge that is not doing his/her job
properly. The executive branch appoints judges and the legislative branch approves the choice of
the executive branch. Again, the branches check and balance each other so that no one branch has
too much power . Senate rejected a president s nominee to the Supreme Court. The senate has
rejected a total of 12 nominees out of 159 nomination for Supreme Court Justice that presidents

Taking On Multiple Perspectives For An American Adult
The idea of taking on multiple perspectives can be applied to many scenarios, from making
decisions as the president of a nation to running a day care. One of the most accessible
perspectives for an American adult is the small business. By engaging in the perspective of other
people at a business you either work at or are a customerat, you gain a certain understanding that
makes you more relaxed and more pleasant. For example we can take an almost universal
experience in the developed world, ordering food at a fast food restaurant.
Let s say there is a line of customers during the lunch rush at your average fast food restaurant. The
line is taking extraordinarily long because there is only one person running the register and one

Next in line is person B. Person B realizes that everyone in line is there for food and must be just
as hungry as they are. He realizes that there are only two employees and that they are working
very hard to serve as many people as they are, perhaps they have been in that situation. Person B
has a greater understanding of the perspective of those around him and in turn is much calmer than
person A.
This example of taking on multiple perspectives shares in Zhuangzi s philosophy but is different
from his examples. The closest example would be the story of the butcher. A good butcher changes
his chopper every year because he chips it. And average butcher changes it every month because he
breaks it (Zhuangzi, ch.3). This is demonstrating two people, doing essentially the same thing, but
the way they do it makes their life more or less difficult. As the butchers gain a greater
understanding of the oxen they become more proficient.
When I first began cutting up oxen, I did not see anything but oxen. Three years later, I couldn t
see the whole ox. And now, I encounter them with spirit and don t look with my eye ... That s why
after nineteen years the blade of my chopper is still as though fresh from the grindstone. (Zhuangzi,
Ch.3)
In the restaurant example person B is a better customer than person A. In something as simple as
being a customer it is safe to say that becoming irrationally upset would be analogous to

Dublin. Though the characters are not tethered to reality, the themes often relate directly to events
in Joyce s experience (Gray). The stories in totality do not follow one constant plot, but if one
story can be said to represent the collection as a whole, it is certainly The Dead. The final story in
the series, The Dead encapsulates the entirety of feelings that Joyce has towards Dublin and
connects Joyce with the narrative in an indirect but powerful way. Each of the other stories
contains elements, symbols, or motifs that support or relate to those within The Dead. Love, loss,
alcoholism, money, and other themes are tools; the reader may learn from them through the ways
that Joyce s characters view them. Ireland was Joyce s home, but despite his love for the country,
he disliked how lethargic it had become. He distanced himself from the its inability to embrace a
changing world. Dublinersis not simply a criticism of the Irish, however. Though the first fourteen
stories demonstrate Joyce s judgements on the different manifestations of Dubliners paralysis, The
Dead written several years after the others and while Joyce was no longer living in Ireland reveals
Joyce s own altered perception of the condition of Irish culture (Gray). The central purpose of
Dubliners is to

Atrocities In Afganistan (Women) Essay
(NOTE TO STUDENT: my teacher gave me a B+ and said I would have had an A if I had had more
detail on the Taliban s reasons for these laws)
The women of Afghanistan have been enduring unfathomable suffering since the Taliban, a
religious faction, seized control of the country in 1996. (NOTE TO STUDENT: my teacher gave me
a B+ and said I would have had an A if I had had more detail on the Taliban s reasons for these
laws) Since 1996 Afghan women have been living fear for their safety and lives. A myriad of
discriminating laws has been placed on Afghan women. The punishments for violating these laws
are unimaginably inhuman.
The Taliban is an ultra fundamentalist group that has 90 percent of Afghanistan under... Show more

Before the Taliban took over Afghanistan the country was fairly progressive in terms of women s
rights. There were women in Parliament, medicine, law, engineering and many other creditable
professions (Shanahan). The majority of teachers were women (Shanahan). Half of the civil
servants and university students were women (Shanahan). It seems the Afghan society was much
like our own in relation to gender equality.
The current situation in Afghanistan contrasts the old one as black does white. Few women are
permitted to work. Those who are must do so inside their homes (Stop). Girls are banned from
attending school after the age of eight (Stop). A journalist speaks of girls not being allowed to
leave the state orphanage building since 1996 although the boys go outside every day to attend
school and play (Stop). The Taliban have severely limited women s access to medical services
because male physicians aren t allowed to treat women and only a few selected female physicians
can work only if they are veiled and treat only women (Stop).
The punishments for violating the Taliban s laws are even more appalling than the laws themselves
and are among the most savage in the world. Often the punishments are dealt out in public in front
of thousands of spectators. 30,000 men and boys gathered in an arena to eat biscuits and drink tea
while watching women receiving the 100 lash

West Point Officer Application Essay
The United States Military Academy is among the greatest and historically significant institutions
in the world. My aspirations to attend West Point derived from my experience in active duty as an
enlisted 12 Bravo Combat Engineer in the 82nd Airborne Division. The best leaders I ve been
privileged to learn from all came from the same place, West Point. I want to attend the United States
Military Academy and become an active duty Officer, so that I can make a positive impact on the
future soldiers of the United States Army.
The first of many West Point Officers that I ve been gifted to learn from is First Lieutenant
Beerman, who was the first platoon leader I had while serving with Alpha Company 37th BEB in
2nd platoon. LT Beerman is the sound definition of a leader, he constantly ensured that we as his
soldiers always were kept fully satisfied but never complacent. He taught the importance of
learning to be lead, and strengthening your weaknesses before you could step up to actually lead. I
always admired and praised LT Beerman for having such a positive influence on the... Show more

CPT Thompson has done so much for me, including the Commanders endorsement of this very
application. The values of honor, integrity, and selfless service never fall short for CPT Thompson
who displays these traits beyond any other. It s under his guidance which allowed me the
realization that I have a tremendous amount of potential to become a leader like no other. CPT
Thompson has time and time again stressed that his company was full of disciplined professionals,
and that lead to us becoming exactly what he preached. If by attending the United States Military
Academy I can become even half of the leader that the Academy has produced time and time again
then I would be dedicated to the everlasting goal of serving others one

Case Study On Bus Dwell Time
Modelling Bus Dwell Time at Key Stop; A Case Study In Kuala Lumpur
Abstract. Bus service regularity and reliability can be directly affected by dwell time amount. Bus
dwell time directly affects vehicle travel time and fleet size required to provide service based on
scheduled headway. It is also an important input for planning and modelling of bus transit system.
Dwell time itself can be affected by various factors such as passenger activity, bus crowding, time
of the day, bus service type, fare collection method, driver experience, and time of day. This
research focused on estimating bus dwell time and the impact of boarding and alighting passengers,
holding strategy and operator relief on dwell time. The primary data source for evaluating this study
is the raw automatically collected data from Automatic Vehicle Location... Show more content on

For reporting and analysis purposes, RapidKL uses the automatically collected data to estimate the
route ridership per hour. This data can be used to predict the total route ridership to be distributed
to each key stop (schedule time points and stops with high passenger demand). The primary data
source for evaluating this study is the raw automatically collected data from Automatic Vehicle
Location (AVL), Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC)
systems. The data from these systems is saved on the bus and transferred to the RapidKL database
when the bus refuels. The data from the AVL system can be used to identify running times and
terminal departure behaviour (in response to schedule deviation). The AFC system creates a record
for each fare transaction involving the smart media or magnetic stripe fare media: passengers
paying with cash and non paying passengers (e.g. children) are not

  • 2. Shakespeare s Most Famous Soliloquy With A Mark Of Their... Actors interpret Shakespeare s most famous soliloquy with a mark of their own artistry. In films and on stage, actors who play Hamlet exhibit various degrees of emotion and pacing speed. It is difficult to evaluate the soliloquy on its own because the way the play is performed in its entirety gives meaning to the soliloquy while the soliloquy also illuminates a special interpretation in the play. However, I argue that the soliloquy has a musical structure a sonata form, specifically that can serve as a framework under which performances can be analyzed. Even though they were viewed discretely from their entire play, there are performances of the soliloquy that may be considered more effective than others under the framework examined under the sonata form. The sonata form usually has three main parts: the exposition, the development, and the recapitulation. In the exposition, the composer introduces a theme that will set the groundwork for the entire work. Once the theme is introduced, it is often played in a different key but in a parallel structure. Hamlet s soliloquy begins with the theme of the uncertainty of death: To be or not to be, that is the question. The rest of the soliloquy expands on this central theme as it clearly sets the groundwork for Hamlet s internal struggle. A repeat of this theme is heard when Hamlet speaks, To die: to sleep; No more. Now instead of considering the difficulties and possibly the nobler act of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yet this similarity has proven to be one of the few, if not only between these two. One cannot help but find it intriguing that poets who belong to the same religious group and style would write so differently. Many of these differences are not even subtle or hidden beneath the text itself. The differences themselves hold implications and ideas that differ between each poet. The first difference which is the most obvious would be the style of each respected poet. Every poet has a unique style, but generally those who belong to the same period or set of ideas have similar styles. Between Bradstreet and Taylor there are no similarities in style. Taylor can be considered a much more polished poet. Taylor s poetryis full of poetic techniques and advanced styling tools such as the iambic meter and advanced rhyming schemes. Humans have been able to conquer most of the land on Earth. They have been able to find ways to travel across huge landscapes in a matter of hours. They have developed ways to grow and harvest their own food through agriculture. Humans even were able to send people into space. Despite these accomplishments, they have all come at a great cost. Humans had to deforest many areas in order to be able to live in those places. Almost all of the modern transportation relies on the nonrenewable resource that is fossil fuels. As the population has grown, bigger farms were made that consume loads of water. Due to these costs, the greatest threat to human sustainability is our reliance on nonrenewable energy and resources. In order to shift from this path, humanity must continue to move away from nonrenewable energy and develop renewable energy, and convince businesses that this path is profitable. In the current system, the greatest threat to the survival of humanity is the over reliance on nonrenewable energy resources. What generally comes to mind with nonrenewable resources is fossil fuels, however trees and water can also be applied in this situation. • 23. The Maple Leaf Has A Symbol Of Canadian Pride Essay The Canadian flag was adopted by the Canadian Parliament October 22, 1964, and the official inauguration ceremony took place February 15, 1965. Ever since, the maple leaf has been a symbol of Canadian pride. The definition of colonization is a process by which a central system of power dominates the surrounding land and its components. Although Canadahas seemed to have a somewhat decent relationship with Britain, the British colonizers decided to take full control over Canada while doing that the British treated the Native Americans with pure disrespect and treated them pretty harsh overall therefore the British had a bad impact on Canada. Before Great Britain had came and invaded Canada, Canada was heavily populated with families and loved one and was home to many. For example, There were many colonies that lived in Canada before the Britain colonizers arrived such as the Algonquin, Iroquois,Huron, and Inuit tribes who had lived in there for thousands of years ( Canada ). This quote shows the number of people and colonies that lived in Canada and how populated Canada was before the British came and invaded. Exploration of Canada began in the eleventh century, when the Norse first reached Newfoundland, but it was the voyages of Italian navigator John Cabot (c. 1450 c. 1499) in the late fifteenth century that sparked European interest in establishing settlements there. The catalyst to this increase comes mainly from an increase in assets and not a decrease in liabilities. A potential reason for this increase could be due to the fact that Microline signed a ten year note with a debt covenant stating that the company needed to maintain a current ratio of 1or the note will mature. This could have led the company to increase their account receivables and inventory in order to bump up their assets to meet the debt covenant. There interest coverage increased from 2010 to 2011 from 3.8 in 2010 to 5.75 in 2011. This shows an increase in solvency where the firm can cover the interest on it loans 5.75 times. • 28. Laundry Detergents As A Cleansing Agent Introduction Laundry detergents are a cleansing agent that is widely used in the industry to clean laundry. The term detergent refers to mixtures of chemical compounds including Alkyl Sulphonates, which are similar to soap but less affected by hard water (Farlex, 2014). Like soap, detergent increases the ability of water to penetrate fabric and break down greases and dirt, however they are derived from organic acids rather than fatty acids (Mifflin, 2005). A detergentis an ion or molecule that contains both polar and nonpolar components. The polar component allows the detergent to dissolve in the water, whereas the nonpolar component solubilizes greasy materials that are the usual target of the cleaning process. Their molecules then surround the particles of grease and dirt, allowing them to be carried away thus leaving your clothes clean. This EEI explores the performance of two different laundry powders (Fab and Woolworths select Home brand) in different types of water; ranging from soft to hard. These detergents were compared and analysed in different types of water from varying locations to determine whether water hardness has an effect on the cleaning ability of detergents, and whether products should be specifically formulated depending on the type of water. Calvinist vs Anti-Calvinist in Dr.Faustus The Calvinist/anti Calvinist controversy The theological implications of Doctor Faustus have been the subject of considerable debate throughout the last century. Among the most complicated points of contention is whether the play supports or challenges the Calvinist doctrine of absolute predestination, which dominated the lectures and writings of many English scholars in the latter half of the sixteenth century. According to Calvin, predestination meant that God, acting of his own free will, elects some people to be saved and others to be damned thus, the individual has no control over his own ultimate fate. One of the greatest critics of Calvinism in Marlowe s day was Peter Baro, who argued that such teachings fostered despair among believers, rather than repentance among sinners. • 34. Power Of Context By Malcolm Gladwell Essay Conventional wisdom has it, that criminals commit crime of their own volition. This belief is based on the concept that human character exists independently from their environment. Gladwell challenges conventional wisdom, claiming that the matter is significantly more complex. Gladwell s theory, Power of Context, basically identifies small details within an environmentand how they can heavily influence said environment. The Power of Context is extremely enlightening; because it sheds light on the observed behavior within Johnson s self organizing Manchester and Faludi s archaic Citadel. Gladwell builds his theory off of the concept of Broken Windows, wherein relatively minor problems like graffiti... [are] invitations to more serious crimes (Gladwell 152). These findings challenge the conventional wisdom and draw distinct parallels with Johnson s Manchester. Johnson sees similar behavior in the self organizing nature of Manchester s neighborhoods, cities have lives of their own, with neighborhoods clustering into place without any Robert Moses figure dictating the plan from above (Johnson 198). In other words, the environment is a complex, living, breathing ecosystem that develops in harmony with its population and vice versa. Where there is chaos, it breeds chaos. For example we can take an almost universal experience in the developed world, ordering food at a fast food restaurant. Person B has a greater understanding of the perspective of those around him and in turn is much calmer than person A. This example of taking on multiple perspectives shares in Zhuangzi s philosophy but is different from his examples. The closest example would be the story of the butcher. The stories in totality do not follow one constant plot, but if one story can be said to represent the collection as a whole, it is certainly The Dead. • 43. West Point Officer Application Essay The United States Military Academy is among the greatest and historically significant institutions in the world. My aspirations to attend West Point derived from my experience in active duty as an enlisted 12 Bravo Combat Engineer in the 82nd Airborne Division. The best leaders I ve been privileged to learn from all came from the same place, West Point. I want to attend the United States Military Academy and become an active duty Officer, so that I can make a positive impact on the future soldiers of the United States Army. The first of many West Point Officers that I ve been gifted to learn from is First Lieutenant Beerman, who was the first platoon leader I had while serving with Alpha Company 37th BEB in 2nd platoon. LT Beerman is the sound definition of a leader, he constantly ensured that we as his soldiers always were kept fully satisfied but never complacent. He taught the importance of learning to be lead, and strengthening your weaknesses before you could step up to actually lead. I always admired and praised LT Beerman for having such a positive influence on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The values of honor, integrity, and selfless service never fall short for CPT Thompson who displays these traits beyond any other. • 44. Case Study On Bus Dwell Time Modelling Bus Dwell Time at Key Stop; A Case Study In Kuala Lumpur Abstract. Bus service regularity and reliability can be directly affected by dwell time amount. Bus dwell time directly affects vehicle travel time and fleet size required to provide service based on scheduled headway. It is also an important input for planning and modelling of bus transit system. Dwell time itself can be affected by various factors such as passenger activity, bus crowding, time of the day, bus service type, fare collection method, driver experience, and time of day. This research focused on estimating bus dwell time and the impact of boarding and alighting passengers, holding strategy and operator relief on dwell time. For reporting and analysis purposes, RapidKL uses the automatically collected data to estimate the route ridership per hour. This data can be used to predict the total route ridership to be distributed to each key stop (schedule time points and stops with high passenger demand). The primary data source for evaluating this study is the raw automatically collected data from Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Automatic Passenger Counting (APC) and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems. The data from these systems is saved on the bus and transferred to the RapidKL database when the bus refuels. The data from the AVL system can be used to identify running times and terminal departure behaviour (in response to schedule deviation). The AFC system creates a record for each fare transaction involving the smart media or magnetic stripe fare media: passengers paying with cash and non paying passengers (e.g. children) are not ...
