Tips For A Successful Career
What should you do to forge a successful, gratifying career? Briefly explain each of the four
dimensions that should be considered. Where do you need to improve? What is your plan to
accomplish your improvement?
To forge a successful career you should be a specialist, a generalist, self reliant , connected and
also be able to actively manage your relationship with your organization and be able to survive and
thrive in the world.
According to the text it is said you should be a specialist and a generalist, since in your career you
do not just want to be a specialist, you want to advance up and get into higher positions in which
your responsibility increases, you will deal with more people and and understand if not all at
least more areas of the organization. To be a specialist you need to be skillful expert in a
particular valuable area which will help give the firm and the customers a more concrete and
knowledgable value. To be a generalist means to have a wide range of knowledge about diverse
areas in the organization. To be self reliant means to be autonomous and take responsibility for
your own actions. As a human who wants to grow it is our duty to go the extra mile and do what
is necessary to grow without the help of a boss or a company, we must try to be entrepreneurs and
take risk and see where we make mistakes, work hard towards improving those mistakes via
practise and rise upwards. To be connected means to have a lot of good relations with clients and

Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis
Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify
examples of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric
Company has, as well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of
these. The idea that stuck out the most about the Lincoln ElectricCompany is that they obviously
have a strong culturethat all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter,
Taylor, and Erdogan (2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee
behaviors than organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric
Company encompasses facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The
ways in which the Lincoln Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most
prominently explained by the following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an
open door policy when it comes to problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure
section of the Case Study, personnel are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of
resolving them [open door policy] (Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). In the same section, Sharplin also
mentions that, Lincoln has never had a formal organization chart... [but] position titles and
traditional flows of authority do imply something of an organizational structure... [thus determining]
that production workers have two or, at

This kind is quite heavy and mainly because of its weight, it provides unnecessary weight for the
car. In the end, its your vehicle that loses out. This is far from what modern wheels are offering
nowadays. You ll totally love the wonderful style of the new car wheels. Consider the alloy wheels
if you need lightweight rims. This is primarily due to the light feature and improved mileage of this
kind.
Light alloy casting wheel is another type of rim. Alloys are lighter than any other types of rim.
This is the best option for driving especially in mountains. This is also best in the city area where
there is traffic congestion. There are alloy wheels that are made to encourage cool airflow in the
brakes to avoid overheating.
The spinning rims may also be got while searching for the car wheels. Often your eyes will have
some good time while glimpsing at the spinning rims on the car. What will take your mind is the
power of the wheels to spin even when the vehicle isn t moving. If you really want to take
pleasure from the beauty of your car, this is the best option but you will have to risk the
functioning of your vehicle as well. In order to put a point across that you have the most
impressive car, this is exactly what you need to put on your wheels. Nonetheless, these rims are still

Mental Film Analysis
If you were to make a movie on your life, would you act as you normally would or would you
change it up a bit?
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Tari Kao Wong and today s discussion is about
whether or not Australian films describe the reality of Australian lives. Representations of families
in Australian films and television programs are unrealistic. The films do not accurately represent
life in Australia, the settings in Australian films are rundown and the people in the films are just
insane.
In the film Mental, there is a family of seven people, there are five daughters and a mother and a
father. This family is not exactly a normal family; in this family they consider themselves as mental
people. In the movie Mental, the mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a family that is very weird and crazy. People in the family are trying to make themselves
disabled to get more money because they live in the ghetto. Living in the ghetto could accurately
represent some peoples living conditions in life, but in Australia there can be some nice
neighbourhoods and nice people. The suburb that they live in is very rundown and is full of
drug addicts. The people in the neighbourhood even throw bricks at the ambulance. There are
also old ladies in the film Housos that are making a drug delivery; you wouldn t usually see old
ladies carrying around drugs or making deliveries for bikie gangs or any gangs. There is also a
lot of bad language in this film. The people in the film are swearing at the cops and are even
climbing buildings to get away from them. Normal people would cooperate with the police in a
nicer manner. In the film Housos the family got some money from one of the relatives and
bought a stripping pole and put it in the middle of the living room. Normally people would not
spend their money on putting a stripping pole in the middle of the living room, some people
would either save up or buy a house but spending it on a pole? That is a very strange way of living

Rice Paddies And Math Tests By George Gladwell
The heading Rice Paddies and Math Tests is the main focus of chapter. Gladwell begins the
chapter by illustrating the multiple steps it takes to grow rice paddies, emphasizing the point that
rice has been cultivated in China for thousands of years. Next, the Chinese number system is
brought up due to its logical counting system . The regularity in the system provides advantages
for Asian children, because they are able to learn faster than American children, specifically in
subjects such as mathematics. The author relates the point about having advantages back to the
roots in a group s culture. In the case of the Koreans, one kind of deeply rooted legacy stood in
the way of the very modern task of flying an airplane. Here was have another kind of legacy, one
that turns out to be perfectly suited for twenty first century tasks. Cultural legacies matter, and once
we ve seen the surprising effects of such things such as power distance and numbers (231 232). The
cultural legacy of rice farmers has taught farmers to have patience, determination, perseverance,
continuous practice, understanding what it means to do meaningful work and how to succeed. The
harder you work a rice field, the more it yields. Second, it s complex work... He or she effectively
funs a small business, juggling a family workforce, hedging uncertainty through seed selection,
building and managing a sophisticated irrigationsystem and coordinating he complicated process of

Spontaneous Philosophy Essay

Writing Assignment One
Spontaneous Philosophy is an unconscious philosophy that is received by people when they re
young. Philosophy of Praxis is an active philosophy that advocates that members of society should
play an active role in achieving positive change. Spontaneous philosophy led Jesuitism to be passed
down each generation. Philosophy of Praxis led to the formation of Marxism. These philosophies
hold very different views.
Gramsci defines Spontaneous Philosophy as a philosophy that everyone receives unconsciously
from various elements at a young age. The elements that they receive spontaneous philosophy
from includes language, common sense, and folklore. All these elements share the characteristic
of passing ideas between generations and keeping cultures alive. Language is used as a tool to
convey ideas and varies between cultures. It can have certain forms that can make it easier or
harder to convey ideas depending on what the speakers know. A dialect is a form of a language
that connects people that live in the same part of a country. However, different dialects can still be
understood by people that speak the same language. This allows ideas to be spread through
different parts of a country and unifies the culture. Language can even unify people internationally
if a person learns the language of a country on the other side of the world.
Common sense is a good sense of what is right and

David Mancina s Lawsuit Against The National Football League
On October 15, 2012, a fan of the New Orleans Saints, David Mancina filed a lawsuit against the
National Football League (NFL) and its commissioner Roger Goodell. Mr. Mancina s complaint
was framed as a class action lawsuit representing all season and single ticket holders for the
Saints games during the 2012 2013 season. The basis of his lawsuit stems from the NFL s
punishment to the Saints organization in connection with the bounty scandal. On March 21,
2012, following an investigation, the NFL imposed a punishment against the Saints, with the
head coach, assistant coach, general manager, and several players being suspended.
Additionally, the team was required to forfeit its second round of draft choices in 2012 and
2013. First, it is ridiculous for David Mancina to try and sue the NFL and the commissioner for
rightfully punishing a team in their opinion. Mr. Mancina has no rights to say what is right or
wrong for the NFL or commissioner to do especially since he does not hold a leadership role
such as a stakeholder, coach, general manager, etc. with the Saints of even in the NFL. Who is he
to say that the league does not have sufficient evidence to warrant the suspensions? That is kind of
ridiculous to say in my opinion. This is kind of the risk you take when you purchase sporting event
tickets in advance; you never know what could happen with... Show more content on

The Rights Of The Woman
and even if life did start at contraception, the rights of the woman gets thrown out and then she is
treated as an incubator because she is forced to give birth. A birth should be a gift and a
privilege, if everyone is forced to have a child out of their will then rather than a privilege and a
gift, these aspects of being female become an unbearable burden (MIT Know The Facts). I have not
every known anyone who has gone through an abortion, but I can think of the pain and trauma a
woman can go through when they want to have an abortion. A man who married my aunt sexually
assaulted my little sister at the age of 13. I can only imagine if she was raped and became
pregnant out of it. I personally would want her to go through with the abortion because if not the
emotional impact to be forced to deliver the pregnancyto term would be catastrophic. If the law
were that of Chile, El Salvador, or Ireland, then my sister would be forced to give birth. People
need not be so high and mighty and quick to say no matter what you never abort the child. No
little girl should be forced to give birth. A woman is raped and in a country where abortion is
illegal except in the form of rapea woman would be forced to prove they were raped. What if a
woman cannot prove that she was in fact raped? Then a woman would be denied what she is
entitled to. One out of five women do not come forward when sexually assaulted because of the
sheer embarrassment of being sexually assaulted because they feel

Americans imperializing Hawai i was a constructive motion. This is due to the fact that throughout
the speech, Dole informs his audience on the benefits both the Hawaiians and Hawai i would gain

western perspective, it is valuable. Therefore, the examples and the clear perspective provided
assists in answering the overall question of whether imperialism was constructive or destructive.
Regardless of the valuable information sources possess, they all also have limitations. The first
limitation of the source is that the speech doesn t show both sides of imperialism. This is because
the speech only demonstrates how imperialism was constructive, and doesn t state anything about
how it may have been destructive. Another limitation is that the speech was written from a western
perspective, therefore it was written from the perspective of the people from the country that was

Diction In The Raven
In the classic poem, The Raven , Edgar Allan Poe explores the effects of isolation and grief. The
Raven follows a man who laments his lost love, Lenore. When a raven enters his chamber, and
repeatedly says nevermore, the narrator s inner struggle with his state of mind is revealed.
Through the use of imagery and diction in stanza five, Poe expresses the narrator s fear and
sorrow after losing his loved one. Poe s utilizes imagery to portray the narrator s struggle to cope
with the loss of Lenore. For instance, when the narrator opens the door to see who is knocking,
he recounts, Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing (Poe 25). Poe

was the whispered word, Lenore? /This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word,

The narrator thinks about the supernatural influence, however, all he hears is an echo. Although

Distortion in Brave New World Essay
Distortion in Brave New World
Distortion is an image of a thought or idea that appears to have a single affect on a society, but in
actuality provides one that is totally different. Often times in order for readers to understand the
realism of today s society and the point that the author tries to make in presenting its flaws, the
writer must distort reality. In doing this he urges the reader to engage in a deep thought processthat
forces them to realize the reality of a situation, rather than perceiving it to be good or evil based
on the dilutions of individuals. In his novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxley uses tomorrow s

Summary Of KeatsOde To A Nightingale
Keats Ode to a Nightingale, can be classified as one of those most well known Odes to ever be
written. Although the poem is a tough lyrical poem to understand, it is as if the poet feels the
pain and bleakness from the day to day repetitiveness of life; therefore, seeks to disappear into
the make believe world of the Nightingale to find relief which eventually leads him to
acknowledgment. While listening to the Nightingale sing, the poet describes Greek and Roman
figures to enhance the feelings he is portraying. The poet described an inconsistent life of
contradictory using the concept of life and death. As well as, representing the struggle of reality
and fantasy achieved through a transformed state of mind. One can see the poet s feelings are
described by words that show the mood of the situation while his thoughts change throughout the
poem. The day to day life of the poet is filled with pain and disappointment. Although the poem
starts out with, My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains (Line 1), momentarily, the poet is
happy because of the singing Nightingale which he describes as, some melodious plot (Line 8);
and it Singest of summer in full throated ease (Line 10). The poet uses musical language to give
the audience the portrayal of how the bird is singing. Quickly, the narrator is filled with agony
because he remembers that life is unpleasant and could be explained in the third stanza, Where

Summary Of March By Geraldine Brooks
March is a valuable novel written by Geraldine Brooks in 2005, which won the Pulitzer in 2006.
The author retells the story of the absent father, Mr. March, in the novel Little Women, written by
Louisa May Alcott. March is described like a sensitive man who leaves his family to join to the
war as a chaplain, facing atrocities which he must survive. Geraldine Brooks also introduces a new
character fictioncreated from her own imagination, not found in Little Women, who Mr. March
haves some love encounters.
When Geraldine was a girl, about 12 years old, her mother (who she considered as a world s
cynics) advised her to read the novel, Little Women and take it with a grain salt. The Little Women

Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Essay
Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing illustrates a kind of deliberately
puzzling title that seems to have been popular in the late 1590s (ex quot;As You Like It quot;).
Indeed, the play is about nothing; it follows the relationships of Claudio and Hero (which is
constantly hampered by plotsto disrupt it), and in the end, the play culminates in the two other main
characters falling in love (Beatrice and Bena*censored*), which, because it was an event that was
quite predictable, proves to be quot;much ado about nothing quot;. The pronunciationof the word
nothing would, in the late 16th Century, have been noting, and so the title also apparently suggests
a pun on the word, noting, and on the use of the word... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This attitude is reflected in Shakespeare s plays. For example, in Much Ado About Nothing, many f
the characters have Italian names (Borachio, Claudio, etc.). This is also true of some of
Shakespeare s others plays such as The Taming of the Shrew, and Romeo and Juliet. Major
Themes One of the major themes in Much Ado About Nothing centers around the question and
battle between deception and reality. One first notices of the image of deception as we witness
the masking and unmasking at the masquerade. In the play, most overhear discussions are
deceptions. It is through eavesdropping that we see the true battle between deception and
reality as we look at the subplots of Bene*censored* and Beatrice, Hero and Claudio, as well as
the comedy of Dogberry and his crew. The relationship between Bene*censored* and Beatrice is
one manufactured completely through deception on the behalf of their friends. Though the plot
to unite them was planned, many of the problems that arose were because of things that were
overheard accidentally or on purpose. In Act II, Scene 3 Bene*censored* is deceived into
thinking that Beatrice loves him because of the speech in the garden between Leonato, Claudio,
and Don Pedro. Beatrice is sent to fetch Bene*censored* for dinner, and Bene*censored* notes
some marks of love in her[Beatrice], (240 241) and he decides to take pity upon her and return her
love. In Act III, Scene 1 Beatrice

Opal Mining Of Australi The Mining Capital Of The World
Opal Mining in Australia
Australia contains a lot of opal, especially in South Australia producing an estimated 95 97% of the
world s opal supply. All of the opal mines in Australia are located in the Artesian Basin which
contains many mining towns such as Lightning Ridge, Andamooka, White Cliffs and Coober Pedy,
which has been called the mining capital of the world.
All of these towns are situated in Australia s outback, the land mostly consisting of barren dry rock
and dirt. But hiding in the endless dusty land and rocks are masses of Opal. Coober Pedy, Lightning
Ridge, and Andamooka are home to many Opal mines, most of which are underground mines. The
whole of Coober Pedy has many underground mines for opals extending out 40kms around the town
with over 200,000 mine shafts which can be up to 27m deep. Andamooka another prominent mining
town has 52km2 of mines both underground and open mines, three to ten meters deep into the
seabed.
In all of these rural mining towns there is not that much infrastructure due to the small populations
and most residents will either be in the mining or tourism industry. This is good for mining as
more of the land is able to use to mine the opals. In Coober Pedy a lot of residents live in
underground homes called dugouts because of the harsh hot weather in Coober Pedy. This meant
that there was no concern for the underground mines as they did not interfere with residential living
space, in fact many homes were made out of old mines. There

Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells
EXERCISE 1C: Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells
Introduction: Water potential was defined above as an expression of the tendency of water to
diffuse from one region to another. Water potential is a numerical value that must be determined
for a given temperature and pressure. In this exercise you will determine the water potential of
potato cells at room temperature and ambient pressure by placing cores of potato tissue in sucrose
solutions of different concentrations and measuring the net movement of water in each case. In
animal cells, movement of H2O into and out of a cell is influenced by the relative concentration of
solute on either side of the cell membrane. If water moves out of the cell, the cell will shrink or ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We will assume, for purposes of explanation, that the solute is not diffusing (Figure 1 .2a). The
movement of water into the cell causes the cell to swell, and the cell membrane pushes against the
cell wall to produce an increase in pressure (turgor).
Figure 1.2a
Before
Pure Water
(p= 0;((= 0; ( = 0
(p= 0;((= 3; ( = 3
Figure 1.2b
After
Pure Water
(p= 0; ((= 0; ( = 0
(p= +3; ((= 3; ( = 0
As water continues to diffuse into the cell, the rising positive turgor pressure begins to cancel
out the negative osmotic potential of the cell. This process will continue until the positive turgor
pressure is so large it completely cancels the negative osmotic potential, and the water potential
of the cell = 0 = ( of pure water. At this point, a dynamic equilibrium is reached, and net water
movement will cease (Figure 1.2b). Now imagine starting over with a fresh piece of potato in a
beaker of distilled water. The potato has a water potential of 2.3 bars, as in the above example. If
you add solute to the water outside the potato cells, the water potential of the solution surrounding
the cells will decrease. It is possible to add just enough solute to the water so that the water
potential outside the cell is the same as the water

Important Features Of The Pantheon
another significant part of the pantheon. As well as keeping the decorative features seen in the

sixteen of Corinthian columns located around the Rotunda so that they can hold on to the

each containing seven planetary gods statues. Preparing for other weather conditions such as

Pantheon. Diameter measuring 43.4m wide, the architects built a thick wall to sustain the

that over one hundred million viewers watch the annual championship game, it s consequently one

The Bible Is Full Of Wisdom And Folly
The Bible is full of wisdom and folly. This essay will evaluate the concepts of diligent people in
Hebrew wisdom being wise, while the lazy person is a fool. The major part of the essay will
concentrate in Proverbs, but we will review some scriptures from Ecclesiastes. Proverbs was
written by Solomon, and he wrote it out of concern for his children. Ecclesiastes is said to have
been written by Solomon, but this is not certain. Both books can be used by all for guidance,
regardless of their age. Proverbs in general concentrates on moral virtues, and the opposite, their
vices. The main theme of the book is the fear of the Lord, as it is seen fourteen times in Proverbs.
Ecclesiastes main theme is life without God is empty, pointlessness and without meaning. There are
a lot of contrasting chapters and verses comparing the differences between being wise and foolish,
the wicked and righteous and the lazy and hardworking. Both books mainly concentrate on the
contrasts between evil and good and foolishness and wisdom. So, let s look at some verses and
relate the concepts, describe and compare them to being diligent (wise) or laziness (foolish).
In Proverbs 15:19 it says The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the
upright is a level highway (ESV). This saying corroborates the points of Proverbs concerning the
directives that diligence is the way of the wise and the path with less resistance. But the path of
laziness is foolishness and filled with trouble,

What It Means To Be A Writer
In the actual sense of the word to be a writer would mean anyone who has ever written before.
Although I do not believe that definition is a true representation of the word. A writer is much
more than that. To me, a writer is someone who writes for fun. Which could also be done
professionally if they have a passion for writing. This writing could be of any genre. It could range
from research to fiction. Also, the end result does not need to be anything significant. To be a writer
you do not need to have published works. Writing in a journal, in my mind, would qualify you to
carry the persona of a writer. The writing does not necessarily need to be long either. It could be as

Internal Domain Name System for Company
Internal Domain Name System for Company Alpha Introduction The DNS is a vital Internet
component providing mechanisms for resolving host names into IP addresses and vice versa. In
addition, DNS supports other Internet directories concerning DNS name servers and mail
exchangers among others (Garfinkel Spafford, 1997). Despite being a universally accepted and
widely used system, insecure protocols and lack of authentication among other factors within the
DNS threaten proper functionality of the DNS. Moreover, the accuracy of the information
contained within the DNS is vital to many aspects of IP based communications. Domain Model
for the Organization The domain appropriate for this organization is the Berkeley Internet Name
Domain (BIND). This domain name is selected since it compatible with most operating systems
including UNIX; it is also used by most Internet Service Providers (Stevens, 1990). In addition,
BIND is recommended for the firm since its configuration files are easier to maintain than other
server DNSs such as Sendmail (Terry, Painter, Riggle, Zhou, 1984). Using this DNS, cache only
name servers are easily placed strategically within the internal network to remove unwanted traffic
and expensive WAN links. Moreover, BIND supports DNS SEC, TSIG IPv4 among other DNS
protocol enhancements. Given the popularity of BIND, it is often targeted by hackers. Therefore,
limiting zone transfers to slave name servers and limiting transfer in the zone can reduce the

Feasibility Of Preventive Maintenance On The Oil Pipelines
ABSTRACT Oil spills have devastating effects wherever it occurs like damage to aquatic, aerial

will explore the feasibility of preventive maintenance on the oil pipelines which will aid in the
prevention and early detection of oil leakages. The major causes of pipeline spillages are
corrosion, stress, etc. Preventive maintenance practices on the oil pipelines consists of actions that
will improve the conditions of the pipeline systems for optimized performance and aversion of

Consistent oil spills from these pipelines constitute health hazards. Problem statement Currently
majority of NNPC s pipelines are poorly maintained and this is causing oil spillage as the
pipelines tend to rupture or leak when oil is being transported to the refineries. A ruptured or
leaking pipeline is very hazardous to the environment and leads to production loss for NNPC.
From the most current data released, NNPC lose 600,000 barrels of crude oil, which is about
28% of the 2.1 million barrels produced daily with total worth of about $160 million annually
(NNPC annual report). In a study conducted on productivity of industries in Nigeria which also
applies to NNPC, it was identified that most of the causes of low productivity were due to lack of
manager s unwillingness to maintain the system effectively (Nwachukwu, 2006). Poorly
maintained operation management activities result in low production quality and quantity, low
market share and low growth rate. In the case of NNPC s pipelines, apart from low productivity,
oil is spilled which has disastrous effects on the community. Thesis statement The emphasis of this
praxis will be development of a preventive maintenance system for NNPC which will drastically
reduce or eliminate oil spillage from the pipelines, reduce adverse consequences of lack of a
maintenance system like frequent oil spillage, identify optimal maintenance practices that will
prevent future leakages of oil pipelines and implementation of standard

Ancient Penguin Discoveries and Evolution Essay
Ancient Penguin Discoveries and Evolution
In a recent BBC News article, Ivan Noble discusses the possibility that ancient penguins may hold
the key to unlocking the mysteries behind the complicated molecular clock of evolution. Although a
seemingly unlikely animal to research, prehistoric penguin remains in the Antarctic often have been
the basis for study, research, as well as debate in the modern science world. Because the prehistoric
relatives of the cute and cuddly modern day birds have colonies that are characterized by high
densities and high mortality , large deposits of the subfossil bones have been serially preserved in
the cold Antarctic environment (Lambert Ritchie), making the animals prime candidates for ... Show

The distinctive mutations, which are thought to occur at a steady rate (Noble), can then be traced,
tracked, and recorded in the fossil record.
Determining the age of the remains proved critical in the discovery. In this study, ancient penguin
guano (an accumulation of dung) was radio carbon dated to ensure accurate sequencing. Ages
also were assigned to nucleotide sequences from bones, either because the bones themselves were
directly dated or strata from which they were isolated were dated (Lambert Ritchie). The
radiocarbon ages of AdГ©lie penguin bones demonstrate that both mitochondrial lineages were
present at least 6082 years ago, and possibly as far back as 8000 years ago.
Surprisingly, it is not the fossils themselves, or even the fossils old age, that makes the discovery
unique. The DNA samples from these bones, however, offer valuable insight into the same
molecular clock that scientists use to investigate the evolutionary history of animals. Because the
ancient DNA extracted from the frozen AdГ©lie penguin bones was of high quality (Lambert
Ritchie), scientists were able to analyze any and all major splits between the two discovered
lineages. By comparing the DNA of ancient bone samples to samples from modern day living
animals, researchers constructed median networks in order to display relationships

the Union army from the North battled the Confederacy of the South, and when it came to an end
at the Appomattox Courthouse, over 620,000 men had lost their lives (Civil War Casualties, n.d.).
President Abraham Lincolnhad finally found a general he could trust in Ulysses S. Grant, who had
forced the surrender of Robert E. Leeand the Confederate army. Walt Whitman would live the Civil
War life as the most influential author and poet of the times. These men represent three of the most
important figures of the Civil War.

Lincoln considered his father a very stern man, and he did not find much favor in him (Miller
Center, n.d.). After the move from Kentucky to Indiana, Thomas Lincoln built another crude 360
square foot cabin for the family, which included Lincoln s mother Nancy and his elder sister Sarah
(Miller Center, n.d.).
When Abraham was nine years old, his mother died and soon after his father remarried. The young
Abraham bonded with his new step mother, Sarah Johnston who encouraged his education and
frequently defended him against his father in arguments (Miller Center, n.d.). The rural life Lincoln
lived involved much labor, including farm chores, splitting fence rails and working the land
(Abraham Lincoln, n.d.). Lincoln had a voracious appetite for attaining knowledge, and often read
books late into the night, utilizing any free time he had remaining.
Political Career After leaving home, the six foot four Lincoln stood out in his new home of
New Salem, Illinois. He soon began work at the local general store as a clerk, and made himself
known to the townspeople by feats of strength by felling trees and splitting fence rails as he had
done during his childhood (Miller Center, n.d.). Because the general store was a gathering place
for the town, he knew the community quite well. Lincoln s ability to read and write made him
quite popular with the less literate people in New Salem (Miller Center, n.d.). Only

Carl Bernstein And Bob Woodward
Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward were dedicated young reporters at the time Watergate
occurred. There dogged pursuit for the truth kept the story from falling into obscurity.
Woodward was a relatively new reporter at the time, a Yale graduate, and a Navy veteran.
Bernstein dropped out of college and he started working in the newspaper industry at the age of
sixteen. By age nineteen, he was a full time reporter for the Washington Star. Although they were
young, and Woodward had not even been a Post reporter for a year, they were dedicated and
tenacious. Without Bernstein and Woodward s efforts, the entire truth may have never been
revealed. Their actions during the scandal and their subsequent book has helped Americans see
the reality of the Nixon administration. At the beginning of the scandal Bernstein and Woodward
were 28 and 29, respectively. Bernstein and Woodward were not partners. Bernstein looked as if
he belonged to the Counterculture, while Woodward had Establishment credentials. 1 They
appeared to be complete opposites and did not get along very well, but over the course of their
investigations, they realized they could work well together. They became involved in the
Watergate investigation when they received a call. The call came from Alfred E. Lewis, a veteran
of the police force, who moonlighted as an informant for the Post. Soon after the burglars were
arrested, it became clear that it was more than just a simple break in. Despite the mystery that

How Does Smith Use Satire In A Modest Proposal
Jonathan Smith s A Modest Proposal uses certain literary strategies throughout his essay to
portray his opinions on the condition of the Irish Catholics. At first glance, his arguments and use
of language may seem quite ridiculous and even horrifying. However, his true intention does not
seem to be to convey a straightforward opinion. Instead, Smith employs a more ironic and
satirical tone throughout his writing in order to portray . Jonathan Smith expresses his thoughts
in his writing with satirical technique through his discussions containing exaggerated
descriptions, economic reasoning, and parodies of political messages. Smith s proposal is so
distasteful that it would seem offensive; especially during the time period in which it was
written. However, this was done in order to show how ridiculous and offensive the rich English
Protestants seem with their abuses on Irish Catholics. One such example of the mockery he uses
is when he suggests that, this food will be somewhat dear, and therefore very proper for the
landlords, who as they have already devoured most of the parents, seem to have the best title to the
children, (Smith). Smith seems to be fully aware of how offensive he sounds and wants to have his
offensive plan associated with the rich in order to convey that the nature of the rich is just as
distasteful as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His proposal is so absurd that his attempt to support it with practical reasons just increases its
absurdity and irony. He does this very frequently throughout his writing, such as in his discussion
of, the money will circulate among our selves, the goods being entirely of our own growth and
manufacture, (Smith). The irony in this is contained in the fact that he is averting from writing
about the more brutal consequences of using infants for food consumption and only focusing on the
benefits when the safety of people should be placed on higher priority than

Hydrogen Isotopes And Radioactive Isotopes
Distinguish between stable and radioactive isotopes and describe the conditions under which a
nucleus is unstable.
An isotope refers to elements that have different mass numbers with the same number of protons
and similar chemical and physical properties but a greater number of neutrons for example carbon
has 3 isotopes including carbon ((_6^12)C), carbon 13 ((_6^13)C) and carbon 14 ((_6^14)C).
The difference between stable and radioactive isotopes lies in their ability to emit radiation. That is
stable isotopes are unable to emit radiation whereas radioactive isotopes are capable of emitting
radiation such as Alpha particles О± (helium nucleus), Beta ОІ particles (fast moving electron) and
gamma Оі particles (high energy electromagnetic rays). An Isotopes stability is dependent on it
neutron to proton ratio for example elements are generally stable if in the lighter elements (those
with atomic numbers less than 20) for example lithium, the neutron to proton ratio is 1:1 and in
heavier elements (those with atomic numbers from 79 83) are stable if the ratio is 1.5:1. Also any
element with an atomic number greater than 83 is naturally radioactive as they are composed of an
unstable nucleus for example promethium ((_61^145)Pm). An element may also be classified as
unstable/radioactive if:
It has too many protons and neutron:
This results in the nucleus becoming too heavy and releasing alpha particles for example: cadmium
releases alpha particles and becomes palladium

According To Mead Generalized Order
Generalized order is an organized community or group which an individual belongs to. These are
attitudes that one would assume is common for the whole group. Additionally, if we can assume
the attitude of the generalized other, we are capable of forming abstract values and principals
regarding freedom, equal rights, and fairness. For Mead, generalized order clearly demonstrated the
relationship between society and self. Therefore, in order to be ourselves, it is essential to become
in a community of attitudes that control the attitudes of all members. In doing so, individuals can
create effective organizations and activities. According to Mead, the language process is vital in
regards to the development of the self. The term communication

Wound Assessment Essays
Introduction The process of wound assessment requires accurate and appropriate interventions
while dealing with the patients. There are some major components which the operator must
consider to effectively access an infection, and they require a range of skills and knowledge. These
factors are the knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology, the understanding of the various
factors that accelerate wound growth, and the ability to listen and understand the patient s needs. In
wound accessing, the doctor should have an idea concerning the number and location of wounds,
the required treatments depending on the type of infection, the type of wound in accordance to
various grading given, and the procedures to follow to achieve the treatment... Show more content

Question 1: Importance of having information concerning the postoperative assessment during
nursing admission The assessment of the patient s care needs is based on the type of infection. As
such, nurses have the responsibility of providing a high quality health care to the patients. The
postoperative assessment involves assessing the patient s perceptions related to behavior and
physiologic responses. It also involves the monitoring of the pain from the patient during the
treatment period based on the operations performed. In postoperative assessment, the patient s
wound is monitored in relation to the healing frequency, pain felt, and the availability of some
foreign substances like the body discharges. Obtaining the information relating to post operative
assessment ensures that the patient is well taken care of by the nurse after operations, and avoids
incidences of other circumstances that might hinder quick healing (Grocott, 2007). Once the patient
gathers the information concerning the postoperative assessment, then a decision is made whether
to seek medication from the same hospital or look for other alternatives. In the case of Sophie, it
was clear that the nurses were not keen in following the postoperative assessment, therefore,
causing the wound to obtain infections.

preparing their patients undergoing the surgery

My Last Soccer Game
Passes were flying, brisk and beautifully, to their intended targets. The kicks, arched with
perfection, barely kissed the ground before their departure was rocketed off in direction of the
stark white goal posts. As I gazed around the field, I gathered this sense of calm from my team
mates. The scoreboard counted down towards start of the gameas the breeze whispered to me a
silent farewell. But the breeze wasn t my concern at this point; we were about to playRichland
center and I had a good feeling that today was going to be one to remember.
Coach called everyone over to the gleaming metal benches located on the Richland center Track that
surrounds the football field. In this instance however, it also doubled as the soccer ... Show more

Richland center raced towards our goal at lightning pace down the left sideline. This is when
instinct kicked in, and I assumed center stage along with the streaking orange RC player.
The world in my eyes had changed. Nothing mattered more to me at this moment then shutting
down that player. I had done this over a hundred times. I was on them in a flash, but that split
second was all it took. I felt a pop. The ball was out of bounds and I was on the ground. But why
was I on the ground? This had never happened before. The Richland center player capitalized on
my lapse in concentration and restarted the play before I could think any longer on the matter.
And that s when I knew something was wrong. Everything sort of stopped; all noise became
absolutely pin drop silent. I couldn t even feel the sting of the cold breeze. The only thing that
mattered was stopping them from scoring. We had worked to hard for me to give up. I kicked
the ball out of bounds once again. The world was sort of coming back at this point. And all I
could hear was people yelling at me to sit down. Why would I want to sit down? They were
going to score; I couldn t let them do that. The team shouldn t be asking me to do anything of the
sort. That s when I noticed I was limping. Why was I limping? I only fell for a few seconds. But
there was that question again, Why did I fall? I didn t have long to

Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Study Analysis Lincoln Electric Company Case Study Analysis In this Case Study Analysis, I will identify examples of the types of organizational culture (innovative and stable) that the Lincoln Electric Company has, as well as the benefits and problems the company could experience as a result of these. The idea that stuck out the most about the Lincoln ElectricCompany is that they obviously have a strong culturethat all levels of employees are proud to be a part of. According to Carpenter, Taylor, and Erdogan (2010), culture is a more powerful way of controlling and managing employee behaviors than organizational rules and regulations (pg. 193, para. 2). The Lincoln Electric Company encompasses facets of multiple types of cultures instead of adhering to only one. The ways in which the Lincoln Electric Company identifies with an innovative culture are most prominently explained by the following facets: not having a traditional hierarchy, and utilizing an open door policy when it comes to problem resolution. As explained in the Organization Structure section of the Case Study, personnel are encouraged to take problems to the persons most capable of resolving them [open door policy] (Sharplin, 1989, pg. 7, para. 1). Philosophy of Praxis is an active philosophy that advocates that members of society should play an active role in achieving positive change. Spontaneous philosophy led Jesuitism to be passed down each generation. Philosophy of Praxis led to the formation of Marxism. These philosophies hold very different views. • 10. David Mancina s Lawsuit Against The National Football League On October 15, 2012, a fan of the New Orleans Saints, David Mancina filed a lawsuit against the National Football League (NFL) and its commissioner Roger Goodell. Mr. Mancina s complaint was framed as a class action lawsuit representing all season and single ticket holders for the Saints games during the 2012 2013 season. The basis of his lawsuit stems from the NFL s punishment to the Saints organization in connection with the bounty scandal. On March 21, 2012, following an investigation, the NFL imposed a punishment against the Saints, with the head coach, assistant coach, general manager, and several players being suspended. Additionally, the team was required to forfeit its second round of draft choices in 2012 and 2013. First, it is ridiculous for David Mancina to try and sue the NFL and the commissioner for rightfully punishing a team in their opinion. Mr. Mancina has no rights to say what is right or wrong for the NFL or commissioner to do especially since he does not hold a leadership role such as a stakeholder, coach, general manager, etc. with the Saints of even in the NFL. Who is he to say that the league does not have sufficient evidence to warrant the suspensions? That is kind of ridiculous to say in my opinion. A birth should be a gift and a privilege, if everyone is forced to have a child out of their will then rather than a privilege and a gift, these aspects of being female become an unbearable burden (MIT Know The Facts). I have not every known anyone who has gone through an abortion, but I can think of the pain and trauma a woman can go through when they want to have an abortion. A man who married my aunt sexually assaulted my little sister at the age of 13. I can only imagine if she was raped and became pregnant out of it. I personally would want her to go through with the abortion because if not the emotional impact to be forced to deliver the pregnancyto term would be catastrophic. If the law were that of Chile, El Salvador, or Ireland, then my sister would be forced to give birth. People need not be so high and mighty and quick to say no matter what you never abort the child. No little girl should be forced to give birth. A woman is raped and in a country where abortion is illegal except in the form of rapea woman would be forced to prove they were raped. Distortion in Brave New World Essay Distortion in Brave New World Distortion is an image of a thought or idea that appears to have a single affect on a society, but in actuality provides one that is totally different. Often times in order for readers to understand the realism of today s society and the point that the author tries to make in presenting its flaws, the writer must distort reality. In doing this he urges the reader to engage in a deep thought processthat forces them to realize the reality of a situation, rather than perceiving it to be good or evil based on the dilutions of individuals. In his novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxley uses tomorrow s dystopia and distorts it by creating a utopian visage. By distorting religion and science, Huxley allows ... Although the poem is a tough lyrical poem to understand, it is as if the poet feels the pain and bleakness from the day to day repetitiveness of life; therefore, seeks to disappear into the make believe world of the Nightingale to find relief which eventually leads him to acknowledgment. While listening to the Nightingale sing, the poet describes Greek and Roman figures to enhance the feelings he is portraying. The poet described an inconsistent life of contradictory using the concept of life and death. As well as, representing the struggle of reality and fantasy achieved through a transformed state of mind. Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Essay Analysis of Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing illustrates a kind of deliberately puzzling title that seems to have been popular in the late 1590s (ex quot;As You Like It quot;). Indeed, the play is about nothing; it follows the relationships of Claudio and Hero (which is constantly hampered by plotsto disrupt it), and in the end, the play culminates in the two other main characters falling in love (Beatrice and Bena*censored*), which, because it was an event that was quite predictable, proves to be quot;much ado about nothing quot;. Opal Mining Of Australi The Mining Capital Of The World Opal Mining in Australia Australia contains a lot of opal, especially in South Australia producing an estimated 95 97% of the world s opal supply. All of the opal mines in Australia are located in the Artesian Basin which contains many mining towns such as Lightning Ridge, Andamooka, White Cliffs and Coober Pedy, which has been called the mining capital of the world. All of these towns are situated in Australia s outback, the land mostly consisting of barren dry rock and dirt. But hiding in the endless dusty land and rocks are masses of Opal. Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge, and Andamooka are home to many Opal mines, most of which are underground mines. The whole of Coober Pedy has many underground mines for opals extending out 40kms around the town with over 200,000 mine shafts which can be up to 27m deep. Andamooka another prominent mining town has 52km2 of mines both underground and open mines, three to ten meters deep into the seabed. In all of these rural mining towns there is not that much infrastructure due to the small populations and most residents will either be in the mining or tourism industry. This is good for mining as more of the land is able to use to mine the opals. In Coober Pedy a lot of residents live in underground homes called dugouts because of the harsh hot weather in Coober Pedy. This meant that there was no concern for the underground mines as they did not interfere with residential living space, in fact many homes were made out of old mines. There ... Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells EXERCISE 1C: Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells Introduction: Water potential was defined above as an expression of the tendency of water to diffuse from one region to another. Water potential is a numerical value that must be determined for a given temperature and pressure. In this exercise you will determine the water potential of potato cells at room temperature and ambient pressure by placing cores of potato tissue in sucrose solutions of different concentrations and measuring the net movement of water in each case. In animal cells, movement of H2O into and out of a cell is influenced by the relative concentration of solute on either side of the cell membrane. If water moves out of the cell, the cell will shrink or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We will assume, for purposes of explanation, that the solute is not diffusing (Figure 1 .2a). The movement of water into the cell causes the cell to swell, and the cell membrane pushes against the cell wall to produce an increase in pressure (turgor). Figure 1.2a Before Pure Water (p= 0;((= 0; ( = 0 (p= 0;((= 3; ( = 3 Figure 1.2b After Pure Water (p= 0; ((= 0; ( = 0 (p= +3; ((= 3; ( = 0 As water continues to diffuse into the cell, the rising positive turgor pressure begins to cancel out the negative osmotic potential of the cell. This process will continue until the positive turgor pressure is so large it completely cancels the negative osmotic potential, and the water potential of the cell = 0 = ( of pure water. At this point, a dynamic equilibrium is reached, and net water movement will cease (Figure 1.2b). Now imagine starting over with a fresh piece of potato in a beaker of distilled water. The potato has a water potential of 2.3 bars, as in the above example. If you add solute to the water outside the potato cells, the water potential of the solution surrounding the cells will decrease. It is possible to add just enough solute to the water so that the water potential outside the cell is the same as the water

This essay will evaluate the concepts of diligent people in Hebrew wisdom being wise, while the lazy person is a fool. The major part of the essay will concentrate in Proverbs, but we will review some scriptures from Ecclesiastes. Proverbs was written by Solomon, and he wrote it out of concern for his children. Ecclesiastes is said to have been written by Solomon, but this is not certain. Both books can be used by all for guidance, regardless of their age. Proverbs in general concentrates on moral virtues, and the opposite, their vices. The main theme of the book is the fear of the Lord, as it is seen fourteen times in Proverbs. Ecclesiastes main theme is life without God is empty, pointlessness and without meaning. There are a lot of contrasting chapters and verses comparing the differences between being wise and foolish, the wicked and righteous and the lazy and hardworking. Both books mainly concentrate on the contrasts between evil and good and foolishness and wisdom. So, let s look at some verses and relate the concepts, describe and compare them to being diligent (wise) or laziness (foolish). In Proverbs 15:19 it says The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway (ESV). Internal Domain Name System for Company Internal Domain Name System for Company Alpha Introduction The DNS is a vital Internet component providing mechanisms for resolving host names into IP addresses and vice versa. In addition, DNS supports other Internet directories concerning DNS name servers and mail exchangers among others (Garfinkel Spafford, 1997). Despite being a universally accepted and widely used system, insecure protocols and lack of authentication among other factors within the DNS threaten proper functionality of the DNS. Moreover, the accuracy of the information contained within the DNS is vital to many aspects of IP based communications. Domain Model for the Organization The domain appropriate for this organization is the Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND). This domain name is selected since it compatible with most operating systems including UNIX; it is also used by most Internet Service Providers (Stevens, 1990). In addition, BIND is recommended for the firm since its configuration files are easier to maintain than other server DNSs such as Sendmail (Terry, Painter, Riggle, Zhou, 1984). Using this DNS, cache only name servers are easily placed strategically within the internal network to remove unwanted traffic and expensive WAN links. From the most current data released, NNPC lose 600,000 barrels of crude oil, which is about 28% of the 2.1 million barrels produced daily with total worth of about $160 million annually (NNPC annual report). In a study conducted on productivity of industries in Nigeria which also applies to NNPC, it was identified that most of the causes of low productivity were due to lack of manager s unwillingness to maintain the system effectively (Nwachukwu, 2006). Ages also were assigned to nucleotide sequences from bones, either because the bones themselves were directly dated or strata from which they were isolated were dated (Lambert Ritchie). The radiocarbon ages of AdГ©lie penguin bones demonstrate that both mitochondrial lineages were present at least 6082 years ago, and possibly as far back as 8000 years ago. The rural life Lincoln lived involved much labor, including farm chores, splitting fence rails and working the land (Abraham Lincoln, n.d.). Lincoln had a voracious appetite for attaining knowledge, and often read books late into the night, utilizing any free time he had remaining. Political Career After leaving home, the six foot four Lincoln stood out in his new home of New Salem, Illinois. He soon began work at the local general store as a clerk, and made himself known to the townspeople by feats of strength by felling trees and splitting fence rails as he had done during his childhood (Miller Center, n.d.). • 43. Carl Bernstein And Bob Woodward Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward were dedicated young reporters at the time Watergate occurred. There dogged pursuit for the truth kept the story from falling into obscurity. Woodward was a relatively new reporter at the time, a Yale graduate, and a Navy veteran. Bernstein dropped out of college and he started working in the newspaper industry at the age of sixteen. By age nineteen, he was a full time reporter for the Washington Star. Although they were young, and Woodward had not even been a Post reporter for a year, they were dedicated and tenacious. Without Bernstein and Woodward s efforts, the entire truth may have never been revealed. Their actions during the scandal and their subsequent book has helped Americans see the reality of the Nixon administration. At the beginning of the scandal Bernstein and Woodward were 28 and 29, respectively. Bernstein and Woodward were not partners. Bernstein looked as if he belonged to the Counterculture, while Woodward had Establishment credentials. 1 They appeared to be complete opposites and did not get along very well, but over the course of their investigations, they realized they could work well together. They became involved in the Watergate investigation when they received a call. The call came from Alfred E. Lewis, a veteran of the police force, who moonlighted as an informant for the Post. Soon after the burglars were arrested, it became clear that it was more than just a simple break in. Despite the mystery that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. How Does Smith Use Satire In A Modest Proposal Jonathan Smith s A Modest Proposal uses certain literary strategies throughout his essay to portray his opinions on the condition of the Irish Catholics. At first glance, his arguments and use of language may seem quite ridiculous and even horrifying. However, his true intention does not seem to be to convey a straightforward opinion. Instead, Smith employs a more ironic and satirical tone throughout his writing in order to portray . Jonathan Smith expresses his thoughts in his writing with satirical technique through his discussions containing exaggerated descriptions, economic reasoning, and parodies of political messages. Smith s proposal is so distasteful that it would seem offensive; especially during the time period in which it was written. However, this was done in order to show how ridiculous and offensive the rich English Protestants seem with their abuses on Irish Catholics. One such example of the mockery he uses is when he suggests that, this food will be somewhat dear, and therefore very proper for the landlords, who as they have already devoured most of the parents, seem to have the best title to the children, (Smith). Smith seems to be fully aware of how offensive he sounds and wants to have his offensive plan associated with the rich in order to convey that the nature of the rich is just as distasteful as... He does this very frequently throughout his writing, such as in his discussion of, the money will circulate among our selves, the goods being entirely of our own growth and manufacture, (Smith). The irony in this is contained in the fact that he is averting from writing about the more brutal consequences of using infants for food consumption and only focusing on the benefits when the safety of people should be placed on higher priority than ... • 45. Hydrogen Isotopes And Radioactive Isotopes Distinguish between stable and radioactive isotopes and describe the conditions under which a nucleus is unstable. An isotope refers to elements that have different mass numbers with the same number of protons and similar chemical and physical properties but a greater number of neutrons for example carbon has 3 isotopes including carbon ((_6^12)C), carbon 13 ((_6^13)C) and carbon 14 ((_6^14)C). The difference between stable and radioactive isotopes lies in their ability to emit radiation. That is stable isotopes are unable to emit radiation whereas radioactive isotopes are capable of emitting radiation such as Alpha particles О± (helium nucleus), Beta ОІ particles (fast moving electron) and gamma Оі particles (high energy electromagnetic rays). An Isotopes stability is dependent on it neutron to proton ratio for example elements are generally stable if in the lighter elements (those with atomic numbers less than 20) for example lithium, the neutron to proton ratio is 1:1 and in heavier elements (those with atomic numbers from 79 83) are stable if the ratio is 1.5:1. Also any element with an atomic number greater than 83 is naturally radioactive as they are composed of an unstable nucleus for example promethium ((_61^145)Pm). An element may also be classified as unstable/radioactive if: It has too many protons and neutron: This results in the nucleus becoming too heavy and releasing alpha particles for example: cadmium releases alpha particles and becomes palladium ... There are some major components which the operator must consider to effectively access an infection, and they require a range of skills and knowledge. These factors are the knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology, the understanding of the various factors that accelerate wound growth, and the ability to listen and understand the patient s needs. In wound accessing, the doctor should have an idea concerning the number and location of wounds, the required treatments depending on the type of infection, the type of wound in accordance to various grading given, and the procedures to follow to achieve the treatment... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Question 1: Importance of having information concerning the postoperative assessment during nursing admission The assessment of the patient s care needs is based on the type of infection. As such, nurses have the responsibility of providing a high quality health care to the patients. The postoperative assessment involves assessing the patient s perceptions related to behavior and physiologic responses. It also involves the monitoring of the pain from the patient during the treatment period based on the operations performed. In postoperative assessment, the patient s wound is monitored in relation to the healing frequency, pain felt, and the availability of some foreign substances like the body discharges. Obtaining the information relating to post operative assessment ensures that the patient is well taken care of by the nurse after operations, and avoids incidences of other circumstances that might hinder quick healing (Grocott, 2007). Once the patient gathers the information concerning the postoperative assessment, then a decision is made whether to seek medication from the same hospital or look for other alternatives. In the case of Sophie, it was clear that the nurses were not keen in following the postoperative assessment, therefore, causing the wound to obtain infections. The kicks, arched with perfection, barely kissed the ground before their departure was rocketed off in direction of the stark white goal posts. As I gazed around the field, I gathered this sense of calm from my team mates. The scoreboard counted down towards start of the gameas the breeze whispered to me a silent farewell. But the breeze wasn t my concern at this point; we were about to playRichland center and I had a good feeling that today was going to be one to remember. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Richland center raced towards our goal at lightning pace down the left sideline. This is when instinct kicked in, and I assumed center stage along with the streaking orange RC player. The world in my eyes had changed. Nothing mattered more to me at this moment then shutting down that player. I had done this over a hundred times. I was on them in a flash, but that split second was all it took. I felt a pop. The ball was out of bounds and I was on the ground. But why was I on the ground? This had never happened before. The Richland center player capitalized on my lapse in concentration and restarted the play before I could think any longer on the matter. And that s when I knew something was wrong. Everything sort of stopped; all noise became absolutely pin drop silent. I couldn t even feel the sting of the cold breeze. The only thing that mattered was stopping them from scoring. We had worked to hard for me to give up. I kicked the ball out of bounds once again. The world was sort of coming back at this point. And all I could hear was people yelling at me to sit down. Why would I want to sit down? They were going to score; I couldn t let them do that. The team shouldn t be asking me to do anything of the sort. That s when I noticed I was limping.
