2. Audience Feedback
•
To find out feedback from my audience one thing I did was I sent my
magazine to friends and family on what’s app.
•
I asked a friend named Chante what she thought of the colours I
was planning to use for my magazine, she stated and I quote
•
“It’s dynamic and I like the colours.” When I showed her a preview of
my front cover she said “it’s very captivating and looks very
professional”
•
I went on to ask more of my friends and family what they thought
and they all seemed to have the same views and opinions saying “
They love the use of colours, they think it looks like a real media
product and layout looks very creative”

Nice cover page , I like how your font is bright red it is good for
you eyes.
Your teasers are not clear but I am impressed with your
coverline. I would want to know if your magazine is free or you
have to pay.

I think that you have created a very good magazine. I like the
coverline on the cover, as it is in red it makes it stand out; at the
same time it doesn't take your attention away from the main
image. I think that the teasers maybe blend it to the background
a bit so maybe work on that but overall good effort!
This is feedback from my blogger on my college magazine, rather than just
seeking new feedback on my proposal for my music magazine. I used this
previous feedback in order to help me come up with exceptional ideas and make
sure I prevented myself from making the same mistakes again. This information
also helped me take another look at the colours I wanted to use for my music
magazine and question the ways in which I could make it look like a real media
product.
4. BENEFITS OF THE FEEDBACK
• They acted as guidelines in the preparation of my music
magazine.
• Helped put together a variety of ideas to work on the
criticisms I received
• Encouraged me to correct any mistakes or errors I had
made.
• Helped me to prepare drafts and have a preview of my
vision on paper and draw out improvements to make
• Mostly the feedback helped me to grow and learn.
5. WAYS I ATTRACTED MY AUDIENCE
•
A way in which I attracted my audience was I firstly looked at successful
magazines such as NME and VIBE. I noticed how their colour schemes
were very similar each colour was on the previous page or on another page.
So for my magazine I tried to have similar colours on the front cover,
contents page and DPS. For example using small amounts of pinks or reds
on each of the pages. I also tried to use pull quotes that would reel in the
reader then prompt them into looking through the magazine or making them
intrigued into knowing what would happen next. In my opinion the most
important element most important on the magazine is the pricing. I made my
magazine price £2.99. I believe this is a very reasonable price as the
readers are receiving a lot from just a magazine. On my front cover I placed
a teaser which said “Look inside for a chance to win studio time” I know that
there are many youngsters out there who want to express their talents and
be able to get heard by the wider world so I did this to attract my audience
and give them and easy opportunity and I believe they would be very much
interested. Furthermore to attract my audience I used a basic ‘magazine,
rule which is to have a direct gaze from the model which would create some
kind of relationship between the reader and the subject on the cover.
Throughout the process I received much feedback from the audience. There
were many mixed views but one of the major concerns from my proposal
feedback was the colour so I decided to take in this feedback and for my
final piece I ensured that I thought about the colours I wanted to use and
how I would make them go together without making the pages look too
overwhelming.
6. The importance…
•
One factor that was very important to me was the pricing of my
music magazine. This is because customers want the price to match
the Perceived Value of the product/service. .
• Perceived Value is the single most important factor in price setting,
and most advertising is designed to influence the customer’s
perception of the product value.
• This was one of the most important factors as I wanted my readers
to gain good value for their money.
