1. Proposal Feedback
Whilst reading Alisha’s proposal, a number of important aspects stood out to me. Especially
that her magazine would be mainly about the Indie genre and include a number of well-
known Indie artists. I believe that this aspect will allow her to create a successful magazine
at the end of the course as it won’t only give her a larger target audience, but it also means
that she will be able to include more content within her magazine. Simply due to the fact
that she’ll have a lot to talk about regarding the featured artists. The artists she is aiming to
include all have a secured place within the music industry. Mirroring her aim to have a
secured place within the magazine industry. The artists she will include all have positives in
the industry, for example releasing albums, touring and preforming gigs around the world.
Alisha will be able to include all this within her magazine meaning that she will have
interesting and enticing content. I believe that her target audience is of an appropriate age
range as I also believe that those are the ages in which are relating back to the music genre
she is choosing to base her magazine around. The majority of fans would like to enjoy her
magazine in their free time and will also purchase her magazine with a decent income from
a job. Meaning her sales will come back positive.
Furthermore, regarding the style and layout of her magazine I believe that she has chosen a
reasonable, effective layout. All in which include: front cover, double page spread, contents
page and double page feature article. This layout is similar to Q magazine which is a
successful well-known magazine. Her layout is professional and organised, making it easier
for the reader.
Moreover, lastly two key points in which I believe are important that Alisha has included
within her magazine are that her magazine is trustworthy in giving an opinion on music and
popular gigs. This is important as her magazine audience will feel as if they can trust the
magazine they are reading building a bigger fan-base, as well as this, it means that the
magazine will become more successful. I believe that an honest magazine is necessary
within the public. Also, by Alisha adding in social media sites made for the magazine allows
the audience to follow up the magazine. Also, by Alisha deciding to release her magazine
monthly means that her audience will become more interested for the next release as I
believe that the content will be of a high quality.
In conclusion, I think Alisha has a positive proposal and will be able to create a successful
magazine as she has gained important ideas when creating her music magazine, her
magazine will be fun, reliable and will consist of various information within the music
industry.
