General Interests:
Baking, reading, cooking, watching TV, listening

Music Interests:
The Kooks, Two Door Cinema Club, Kodaline,
The Noisettes, Mumford and Sons
Lorrains lifestyle is quite quiet – she doesn’t
attend gigs and concerts but enjoys spending
time with her friends, cooking for her family and
reading when she isn’t revising.

“The title is eye catching, self explanator y
and straight for ward. The reader can tell
straight away from it that it’s a music
magazine. I also think that the cover photo is
ver y appealing, the fashion is on trend and
the setting is beautiful .”

“I like the arrangement of things the most -
it’s ver y aesthetically pleasing. It’s also ver y
neat and simplistic yet pretty. The balance of
text, image, quotes and empty space is just
per fect.”

“You could add levels on the cover rather
than having all the writing on the top of the
picture maybe put some behind the ar tist e.g
that little end of the Y could always go
behind their head.”

“The person you did the double page spread
on is ver y relevant because she was an ar tist
that came from Youtube and she's not a
mainstream market produced ar tist. And it’s
relevant to our age group because she’s our
age and it’ good to relate to your audience.”

“The pictures feels ver y natural and
professionally photographed. The way the
layout is designed, organised and positioned
is unique and ver y unlike mainstream music
magazine which have big catchy titles and
loud colours.”

“The consistency is kept really nicely
throughout the whole magazine which I love.
I also like the free vinyl and the Hozier
tickets because I think it’s a good promotion
trick. I just generally like the sleek feel of
it.”

Music Interests:
The Show Ponies, Temples, Hozier, Lorde and Sia
Jacob would be a member of my target audience
as he enjoys watching TV and film. His interest
means that he would benefit from the reviews
featured in the magazine. Jacob is also an avid
user of Instagram and so would enjoy taking part
in the monthly competition held by the magazine.

“The cover is colourful and bold. I like the
natural scenery in the background but I’m not
sure if it suits the genre very well. I like the
sound of the interviews inside and think that the
overall look of the cover is pretty good.”

“I really like the idea of the competition
because I am a big fan of Hozier and would love
to see him in concert.”

“I’m not quite sure about the colour scheme. I
think the front cover works really well because
of the mix of the oranges, reds and greens – it
makes it look really autumnal, but then the rest
of the magazine doesn’t look the same. The
contents page is a greeny/blue and the double
page spread is pink, it could be made more
cohesive if the colours from the cover were used
elsewhere within the magazine.”

“I think the content is very relevant as it
features popular artists who I like. It is also
suitable for the target age range as the girl
interviewed is only a teenager like me.”

“I think the design is appealing, I like the
symmetry and structure of the contents page
and I think that makes it look more
professional. I also think that the whole
magazine looks like any other magazine, so it
definitely matches the needs of a magazine.”

“I think that maybe the font size on the double
page spread is a bit too big. Magazines usually
have quite small fonts, and I think if you want it
to look as professional as it can you might want
to think about making the font a little bit
smaller. Other than the colour scheme and the
font size, I really like it, the fonts are nice and
the photography is great.”

Her interest in fashion would also make her a
target audience for my magazine as ‘Vinyl’ also
looks at changing trends in fashions and
occasionally gives away offers to popular shops
which Jess buys her clothes for college from, ie.
Urban Outfitters and Asos

“I like the title of the magazine as it is
simple and effective. I also like the
genre of music that the magazine
targets and the artists which have been
used within the magazine.”

“The idea of a free vinyl with each copy
of the idea is cool and a good way to
entice readers. As I like collecting CDs
and vinyls this is especially one of my
favourite elements of the magazine.”

“To make the overall style of the
magazine stronger. I'd suggest maybe
changing some of the colours used in
the contents page as they don't match
those used in the front cover and the
double page spread.”

“I find it very relevant as it includes
current artists and articles that appeal
specifically to the target audience
which are interesting at the same time.”

“I think the photography is very well
done as the photos are relevant to the
contents of the magazine but are also
of a high standard. I also think that the
design is very professional looking and
well planned out.”

think that the whole magazine has been
made to a high and professional
standard. I would definitely buy this
magazine.”
