1. Proposal Feedback
As I read through Susana’s proposal, the first aspect that stood out for me was the fact that
her magazine is going to be mainly about rock artists. I believe that this is going to allow her
to create a successful magazine at the end of the course as not only will it give her a larger
target audience, but it also means that she will also have a larger amount of content with her
magazine, due to the fact there is a lot more to talk about the mainstream, the artists are
well-known artists as they have a strong position within their career and will have
experienced many different tasks and rewards during their career, such as awards, albums
and concerts. Therefore I believe that Susana making her magazine about mainstream rock
artists will allow her to include a lot more content to make the magazine more appealing and
interesting. Also, I think that it is an effective idea how she wants her magazine to be for
both artists and the fans as she will allow the readers to feel connected to the magazine and
get involved with the magazine. I believe that the target audience should be lower as she has
said that her target audience is (27-37) and I believe that the target audience should be
slightly younger as I think that 14 year old would read these magazine, so I believe the target
audience should be (14 -30) as the majority of the fans would take time out to meet the
artists, as many people would want to meet their favourite artist. However by lowering the
target audience ages could be problematic with the amount of sales made for her magazine
as a young teenagers wouldn’t have a job and would be harder for them to purchase the
magazine.
Furthermore, regarding the style and layout of her magazine I believe that she has chosen a
good layout for her magazine as she has; front cover, double page, content page and double
page feature article. This is a similar layout to an existing magazine but it has been successful
the layout. Ass she will have a lot of interesting content to cover having this layout will allow
her to do so in an organised format.
Lastly two key points that Susana made her proposal that I thought were important were the
fact that she is going to ensure that her magazine is trustworthy and honest. This is a good
idea as it will mean that the audience of her magazine will feel as though they can trust the
articles within each issues building a bigger fan base and becoming more well-known as an
honest magazine which is preferred by the member of public. Also, by her included social
media sites it helps the audience follow up on the magazine and the fact that is going to do
her magazine “monthly” I think that it is an important aspect because by doing a magazine
weekly it will keep the audience interested and keep her intrigued.
Overall, to conclude I think that Susana proposal is good because I believe that she will be
able to create a highly successful magazine as she has stated a variety of interesting and
important ideas that would help her magazine be fun, reliable and informational for the
audience.
