1. Promotional Methods
Subscriptions
For the magazine that I am creating, my subscription fee will be £35 for the year. The
subscriber will also get the first three months of their subscription for nothing if they enter
our monthly code into our website. I have done this because I think it will be an effective
promotional method as the subscription will work out less expensive for the reader per year
which will definitely be appealing to them economically. I also believe that by the subscribers
seeing these 3 months free in the magazine, it will entice them into buying the magazine to
find out more and to hopefully convince them into subscribing to us.
Giveaways
I decided that instead of giving out a giveaway in all of my monthly issues, I will only be
including them in some of my magazines. I won’t inform the readers of when the giveaways
will be so that way they will buy each issue instead of only buying the issues with giveaways,
in hope that they will win. I think it’s important to keep the readers interested and the
thought of them not knowing about the giveaways adds to the suspense of each issue. I
think that it also adds to the fun of wanting to buy each issue monthly.
Competitions
For the issue I am creating, my competition is for a chance at winning “concert” or “festival”
tickets with a particular band or artist who will be featured within the specific magazine issue
that I am creating. I got the idea for this this completion from the results of my magazine
results as the most popular competition wins were free concert or festival tickets and I feel
that it is important to stick to what the audience want as well as what I want to include so
that I have a wider audience, as I will be selling exactly what they are looking for.
