I attracted my audience in different ways in my magazine. The thing that attract the most must
be the different images. They are all taken in a studio, and therefore they are all clear and
have a nice lightning. I made my models look like real celebrities, which gives the audience
want to read more about them. The photo on the front cover is taken in a medium shot. The
model smiles and looks at the audience, which gives a feeling that they connect and have
things in common.
Another thing that attract my audience is the pull quote from Beyoncé, which gives a feeling
of knowing the celebrity even more. A way I also attract my audience was to advertise that
they could win festival tickets. Who doesn’t want to win a contest? This makes people want
to know more about the contest and then they’ll buy my magazine.
In my audience research and interview I found out more about my readers, so I then knew
how to make my magazine and what to put into it. The most of my readers are girls in the age
of 16-19, so to attract them I knew I had to have interesting celebrities in my magazine, and
write in a way they can easily understand. The overall layout of my magazine is quite clean
and tidy, which gives a relaxing feeling to the readers.
In my research I asked what their favourite UK music magazine was, and Q got the most
votes. Because of that I have found a lot of inspiration form them, in design and in contents.
I have used very clean and light colours in my magazine, since the people I interviewed told
me they like magazines that is clean and nice. Grey, white and black is the most used colour,
and this is because I feel that with clean colours, it attract more readers.
My model at the front cover represent the teenager girls who read the magazine. She is an
inspiration and a rolemodel for the girls, and they have something to look up to. The picture
on the contents page that attract the audience most is the picture of the group of boys. The
girls get something to look at. The other pictures on the contents page gives the same
expression as the front cover: inspiration.
