Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched
products have?
• They all have metaphors and most of them have a common link to mental
health awareness.
• Taking a bath in black water is very common, it adds a creepy effect to an
otherwise boring scene.
• Fake blood or other injuries.
• flowers are common especially roses, they are also quite often dead.
• Very simple outfits mostly wear the same one through the whole video.
• Live performance type of thing usually in a Wearhouse or outside.

within your own work?
• I want to try and include a black bath
• Flowers (dark red/burgundy, white)
• A narrative that’s about mental health (specifically the 5 stages of grief)
• Fake blood – the gory aspects from the videos.
• I will use the double exposure effect where they make it look like there's
two people because I think that looks really cool and will add to the
creepy effect of the video.
• I really liked the zooming into the eye effect from MGK's 'Forget Me'
music video.

• Observation: most of the people taking the survey are ages 16 – 18 which is in my target
audience.
• What this says about my audience: my target audience is ages 16 – 21, so having 16
– 18-year-olds and one 19 – 21-year-old take the survey gives me a good idea of what this
demographic like.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: this will help me target to be able
to target the right audience for my video.

music.
• What this says about my audience: there is more people that took
the survey who are most likely to listen to/watch the video then there is who
wouldn't.

heavily inspired by alternative artists/videos so this will appeal to at least those 14
people .
