Hope Smith conducted target audience research through an online survey. The survey results showed that the target audience is primarily female ages 16-18 who listen to alternative music. Most respondents watch music videos a couple times per month and enjoy videos that feature shots of the artist and have a narrative. Common elements across referenced music videos included black water baths, flowers, themes of mental health, fake blood, and double exposure effects. The research will help make a music video that appeals to this audience through inclusion of these elements and styles.
