Working Title: Get Home.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
 12+
Because my product will have a serious vibe and intense, gritty style of filming, it could
scare or worry younger people and children but teenagers and up should be okay and
realise what is actually going on.
 Male
This is mainly because of the same reasons as above but also how the shots I plan on
featuring are going to be more action packed and fast. This will also tie into the usual
stereotype that the male gender prefers the action genre more.
 Social Status
My audience will be people who like to get together with friends and form groups for doing
tasks together with one another. My product will appeal to these kinds of people by giving
them something to get together and laugh with one another.
 Psychographic
People who prefer more intense, fast and more graphical shots will like my product.

Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
To help me create this product, I have created many other products similar and the same.
For instance, I have created an advertisement for Irn Bru using software such as Premiere
Pro. In said project, I used many tools and features to add convincing effects such as
splitting the screen between the middle to give the illusion that there are two of the same
character on screen at the same time. More recent products I have made could also serve
to help me well as the features and effects used in them are more related to the kinds of
features and contents of my final product. I have completed tasks such as recording my
own sounds to edit over a small scene from a popular film and also even making an
experimental short film to try out effects of camera anglesand sounds in places of
movements and actions. The past two years or so I have been learning how to better my
research, planning, time management, and many other aspects of my course that are
essential to my work. This much time being spent on bettering myself I feel will certainly
help me in this project.

Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project will be a short film about a man and an intense trip out. The main character will
begin on scene having a stroll through a peaceful Easingwold with many bright and happy
looking colours and objects. All of a sudden his phone buzzes out of nowhere, leaving him
startled and confused. He reaches in his pocket to see what is was and revealshe has been
texted the words, "you're running out of time. Hurry." He proceeds to look in shock and
increasingly terrified and drops his bags, beginning to sprint. An intense sequence begins
with fast, blurred shots of the characters feet running, his panicked face, and off balanced
scenery shots. Finally, the character will arrive back home, bursting through the door as
the camera transitions to a closeup of his oven on and his food burning inside. He runs up

to the oven, peers through the window and breaks down sobbing intensely as he throws his
phone across the room with the text still open. The camera will zoom into the phone and
reveal the text was sent by his mother as she appears round the corner saying "I told you
to hurry!".
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
My product will require plenty of sound effects to be added in in the post production as my
short film will be recorded next to a busy main road and therefore will have too much
background noise that doesn't fit when the clips are edited together. To help with any
possible video length problems I may have to either speed up or slow down certain clips.
These tasks stated above will need no special equipment apart from the camera and a
tripod. The most training I will need for the sound and clip editing will be my common
knowledge and the training on the software provided by my lovely tutors over the course of
this subject. Not only will sound be important but also the direction the sound moves, if at
all and the volume at which the sound effects occur at will need to be taken care of too. For
example, the background noise will need to be quieter than the main effects to make it
easier for the audience to hear and also in one of my shots my character will run past the
camera from left to right. This will require me to adjust the panning of the sound
accordingly.

production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I mainly plan to evaluate my work by using the helpful PowerPoints provided by my tutors. Using
these, I will be able to reflect on my product and its production bit by bit in great detail. I will also be
documenting my creation of my product through step by step methods. I will take screenshots and
write about them to explain what is happening at various points of production. From all of this
evaluating, I am hoping to gain a better idea of what things go well together, which aspects of my
work are lacking and what I could do in the future to improve my skills both using software and
using a camera.

self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.

Proposal

  • 1. Proposal 1 Working Title: Get Home. What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later Audience:  12+ Because my product will have a serious vibe and intense, gritty style of filming, it could scare or worry younger people and children but teenagers and up should be okay and realise what is actually going on.  Male This is mainly because of the same reasons as above but also how the shots I plan on featuring are going to be more action packed and fast. This will also tie into the usual stereotype that the male gender prefers the action genre more.  Social Status My audience will be people who like to get together with friends and form groups for doing tasks together with one another. My product will appeal to these kinds of people by giving them something to get together and laugh with one another.  Psychographic People who prefer more intense, fast and more graphical shots will like my product. Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section. Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the gender? Etc.) Rationale (approx. 100 words) To help me create this product, I have created many other products similar and the same. For instance, I have created an advertisement for Irn Bru using software such as Premiere Pro. In said project, I used many tools and features to add convincing effects such as splitting the screen between the middle to give the illusion that there are two of the same character on screen at the same time. More recent products I have made could also serve to help me well as the features and effects used in them are more related to the kinds of features and contents of my final product. I have completed tasks such as recording my own sounds to edit over a small scene from a popular film and also even making an experimental short film to try out effects of camera anglesand sounds in places of movements and actions. The past two years or so I have been learning how to better my research, planning, time management, and many other aspects of my course that are essential to my work. This much time being spent on bettering myself I feel will certainly help me in this project. Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired? How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project? What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project? Project Concept (approx. 200 words) My project will be a short film about a man and an intense trip out. The main character will begin on scene having a stroll through a peaceful Easingwold with many bright and happy looking colours and objects. All of a sudden his phone buzzes out of nowhere, leaving him startled and confused. He reaches in his pocket to see what is was and revealshe has been texted the words, "you're running out of time. Hurry." He proceeds to look in shock and increasingly terrified and drops his bags, beginning to sprint. An intense sequence begins with fast, blurred shots of the characters feet running, his panicked face, and off balanced scenery shots. Finally, the character will arrive back home, bursting through the door as the camera transitions to a closeup of his oven on and his food burning inside. He runs up
  • 2. Proposal 2 to the oven, peers through the window and breaks down sobbing intensely as he throws his phone across the room with the text still open. The camera will zoom into the phone and reveal the text was sent by his mother as she appears round the corner saying "I told you to hurry!". What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make? What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/ Production Techniques (approx. 150 words) My product will require plenty of sound effects to be added in in the post production as my short film will be recorded next to a busy main road and therefore will have too much background noise that doesn't fit when the clips are edited together. To help with any possible video length problems I may have to either speed up or slow down certain clips. These tasks stated above will need no special equipment apart from the camera and a tripod. The most training I will need for the sound and clip editing will be my common knowledge and the training on the software provided by my lovely tutors over the course of this subject. Not only will sound be important but also the direction the sound moves, if at all and the volume at which the sound effects occur at will need to be taken care of too. For example, the background noise will need to be quieter than the main effects to make it easier for the audience to hear and also in one of my shots my character will run past the camera from left to right. This will require me to adjust the panning of the sound accordingly. What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post- production, sound, etc) Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos? Evaluation (approx. 50 words) I mainly plan to evaluate my work by using the helpful PowerPoints provided by my tutors. Using these, I will be able to reflect on my product and its production bit by bit in great detail. I will also be documenting my creation of my product through step by step methods. I will take screenshots and write about them to explain what is happening at various points of production. From all of this evaluating, I am hoping to gain a better idea of what things go well together, which aspects of my work are lacking and what I could do in the future to improve my skills both using software and using a camera. How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
