This Pokémon magazine is a old magazine probably made a few
years back and it talking about some of the first Pokémon games to
be released. The front cover eve at this time looks really good and
looks like a classic magazine to buy. The cover has all the Pokémon
that are included as the main Pokémon in all the games yellow, red
and blue. The background image includes some Pokémon probably
in the game, but is very light and hard to see.
I’m not really sure how to explain the effects, however it looks really
good how majority of the front cover is white including parts of the
Pokémon. There’s only a few colours used on this cover. The main
colours are yellow, red, blue and white and are used pretty well. The
white is used over some parts of the Pokémon and in the
background. The lighting is good because of the bright colours used.
The two fonts are the Pokémon font which is made by the company
and the other is probably a Arial Black type of font which is bold and
easy to read.
The front cover wants people to buy the product because looks it’s
old fashioned and looks pretty good in my opinion. It quite an old
magazine because the Pokémon games and the front cover are red,
yellow and blue which were released a while ago.

3. Existing Product
This magazine cover is probably the one out of the three that is
covered in information and features that fill the full front cover. This
front cover has included the likes of Pokémon World, PokePark and
other information about Pokémon. It’s full of colour and hasn’t got
any gaps to be filled in. Every part of the front cover has something
whether it’s text or pictures. It features Pokémon cards, games and
TV series information, which is god for people interested in all three
or just for people interested in one.
The effects used on the front cover is literally everything on the
page. The Pokémon themselves are put onto the cover and all the
fonts and sizes are edited for a reasonable size. All the main features
such as the two titles are in the middle as well as Pikachu the icon of
Pokémon. At the top I think it’s the slogan they have for the front
cover. And the masthead is Pokémon World referring to the game. It
also includes games on different consoles such as Diamond and
Pearl that’s on Nintendo DS and PokePark on the Nintendo Wii.
In my opinion, people will buy this magazine because it looks full of
information just on the front cover. It’s full of colour which grabs
attention for people in the shop and looks good for the type of game
Pokémon is. Pokémon is a game full of different colours and this
front cover is full of it including some of the Pokémon from different
generations.

4. Existing Product
This Pokémon magazine is different to the rest of the magazine
covers because it doesn’t have much to offer on the cover. The
masthead is TIME and they’re aren’t the most popular of magazines,
but yet looks good. The front cover shows some Pokémon that are
some of the ones from the first series. It has a question at the
bottom of the cover saying about whether being interested in the
video game, toys, cards and moves are bad for them. In my opinion
this is not bad for them, however the cover wants people to think
whether it’s good or bad.
The effects used are mainly used on the Pokémon themselves on the
cover as well as the glowing outline around them. The pictures of
the Pokémon are quite bright and are in good positions on the cover.
The pictures are from the game Pokémon Go which was a global
sensation in the summertime. There is a massive variety of colours
used which is good for the audience / buyers to see. The fonts used
for the bits of text are bold and easy to read. The masthead text is
Cond Extra Light and looks good and professional.
This front cover wants people to buy the magazine and play the
game because it will have plenty of information about the game and
what features will be added in the upcoming few months. This will
make people that aren’t interested in Pokémon more interested in
the games, cards and TV series.

• What common features do the researched products have?
– All three of the magazines have plenty of colour on them and all stand out very well. They all include
Pokémon on their front covers which is good because that mainly grabs the attention as well as the
bright colours. They all have a masthead, slogans and plenty of information on the front to make
people buy it.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
– I will include the likes of a masthead and a slogan made up by myself. I will include bright colours so
it stands out for the people going around the shops or wherever they’re sold. I will include Pokémon
from the games and parts off the TV series so people might get interested in both or one of each.
When I create my main front cover I will talk about the recent Pokémon games Sun and Moon and
probably the likes of Pokémon Go and the up-to-date TV series with plenty of information about
them on the double page.

Age Range 7+
This is a reasonable age for this magazine because the age
range for the games and TV shows are 7+ therefore y
magazine can have the same age range. Plus the audience /
buyer can get more people into Pokémon.
Gender Both
My work will appeal to both genders because there will be
plenty of information and facts about Pokémon that both
male and females will enjoy reading. Plus both gender enjoy
Pokémon anyway because the most popular games get
people more involved.
Psychographic Belonger
The psychographic is Belonger and they will appeal to my
audience because it’s a family related psychographic that can
get family members involved and I think Pokémon can be
enjoyed and entertained by the whole family.
Social Status Any
In my opinion anybody can look at Pokémon and some how
enjoy it because it’s one of the only games that has
everybody interested. This means all social groups will like
my magazines, if they’re interested in magazines obviously.
