Abstract
Android is becoming the most used smartphone operating system all over the world since the first
version of Android was released at 2008. In this research paper, I systemize most important milestones
from Android 1.0 to Android 6.0 based on the description from Google Inc. During the collection of
Android versions, I highlight the most influential changes for Android s development.
Keywords: Android, feature, history
1. Introduction
According to Kidman. A (2014), the most popular smartphone operating system globally is Android,
and it has about 80.6% of market share. People may want to know how Android becomes the most

2.1.1 Quick Search Box. As people all know, the major character of Google is its searching function.
Android s Quick Search Box is ubiquitous. User can use this function to get search results from both
phone local content and website at once. It highly improves processing efficiency. Quick Search Box
created the idea that make smartphone as a convenient device.
2.1.2 Screen Size Diversity. People are more likely to use big screen phones than small screen phones.
Before the period of big screen phones, people used to use screen size around 2.4 inches. After iPhone
comes, people seem like to use big screen phones than before. However, the phone s featuring
displays was limited by 320*480 portrait. Because of the featuring displays limitation, it is hard for
manufactories to make big screen phones. Thanks to capabilities launched with Donut which allowed
Android to run on a variety of screen resolutions and aspect ratios. This opened the door for phones
featuring displays other than 320*480 portrait. With the higher portrait, manufacturers can design
bigger screen phones with an acceptable and distinct definition.
2.1.3 Android Market. Android Market is the predecessor of Google Play. Because of the invention of
Android Market, user can install applications by

California Earthquake Analysis
On October six a small earthquake shook part of southern California. It started along the Newport
Inglewood Fault near Long Beach, California. The quake itself was weak and not cause any damage to
the local. However the significant part about this earthquake is that it originated from ten kilometers
underground, or about 6.2 miles. Which was interesting because seismologists report on October
seventh. That Rocks at that depth should be too hot and malleable to snag and break. Which is a key
cause of earthquakes. This implies that there is some unknown process at the root of the fault. That
caused this quack to happen says study coauthor Asaf Inbal, a seismologist at Caltech. It was also said
that these earthquakes shouldn t be in direct threat

Sex In High School Sex
Seems like there s only one choice: The downsides of being a slut
Kann, who did research on high school sex for the CDC, reports that [i]n 2015, 41% of high school
students reported having sexual intercourse (Kann Youth Risk Recapp). These results show evidence
that nearly half of all high school students are engaging in sexual intercourse. Out of this group,
studies by the Kaiser Family Foundation find startling facts like the idea that [a]ccording to a 1994
study, every year an estimated one in four sexually active teens contracts a sexually transmitted
infection (STI) (Kaiser Family Foundation U.S. Teen Sexual ). Many students will then receive
sexually transmitted infections and further spread them. As the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance
states, Nationwide, 41.2% of students had ever had sexual intercourse, 30.1% had had sexual
intercourse during the 3 months before the survey (i.e., currently sexually active), and 11.5% had had
sexual intercourse with four or more persons during their life (Kann. L, et al, youth risk ). This wide
range of sexual partners in a high school setting greatly distributes very dangerous sexually
transmitted diseases. As UNAIDS, a global effort to end aids foundation s research, states, 1 million
[830 000 1.2 million] people died from AIDS related illnesses in 2016 (UNAIDS Fact sheet latest
statistics ). Not only does the HIV affect younger children, but it has also turned into a worldwide
epidemic, according to HIV global

Al Capone And His Life Of Crime And Villainy
Al Capone Al Capone is known for his murders, gambling, and prostitution. He would even smash
people s skulls open by hitting them on the side of the head with a bat! His parents would have never
known that he would become the lead gangster of the prohibition era. What made him turn to his life
of crime and villainy? He was just a normal schoolboy. Maybe it was his desire to support his family.
Possibly it was meeting Johnny Torrio, that changed his perspective on crime. Or maybe it was both.
Al Capone s real name is Alphonse Gabriel Capone. He was an Italian immigrant. His father was
Gabriel Capone and his mother was Teresa Capone. He lived in just a little more than a slum. He went
to a Catholic school that did not tolerate violence and scarred the susceptible kid. He was later
expelled at the age of 14 for hitting a female teacher. He later met Johnny Torrio which could have
been the greatest influence in his life. Johnny Torrio was a key figure to Al Capone . Later Al Capone
joined Torrio s James Street Boys gang.
He later stopped the gang life and settled down and married middle class Irish girl Mae Coughlin and
worked as a bookkeeper. He was soon to return to his old job with Torrio in Chicago. His father s
death affected him greatly. His reputation was growing a lot at this point. He would never go
anywhere without two bodyguards. He would even be smashed by bodyguards when in the car. Al
Capone s reputation grew a lot, but how

GMail Image Caching Measures the Effectiveness of an Email...
Why Gmail s Adding Image Caching is Important
Because image tracking can be used to measure the effectiveness of an email marketing campaign,
based in some part on the open rate, it has become a fundamental part of the email marketers took kit.
Therefore, Gmail s decision in December 2013, to add image cashing, seems to have created concerns
for a great many people, not all of these concerns can yet be answered. It is also worth remembering
that Gmail has in the past decided to roll things out, and then taken the decision to roll them back in
favour of a phased transition to deployment.
According to Google the reason they have made these changes is to make messages more safe, secure
and faster than ever before whether using your computer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reputedly, Google claim to have resolved the malware issue by hosting images via a proxy server.
This means that any embedded malware contained in an email won t show up. Security researchers
claim that this new technology poses an even more serious threat, in that Google are now able to read
its users messages both without their permission, and whether or not the messages have been opened.
There have also been claims that spammers are able to email the same image to everyone, assigning
every image with a unique url. Each url would then provide a tracking facility informing spammers if
the email had in fact been opened or not.
Google responded by saying they offer a feature that allow users to opt out of displaying any images
in emails. They also said that they can remove the proxy server if the image display was a problem,
and require the user to press show images.
The Impact on Using Email Marketing for Businesses
For users of Gmail the changes simply mean that images contained in the emails they receive will be
automatically displayed in the messages, without the need to click on a link to view it.
Businesses that use email marketing, specifically analytical packages, the data of certain data could be
affected. The data will now be sourced from the Google proxy servers as opposed to previously pulled
directly from recipients directly opening the marketing messages. Whilst

enough degree that dental fillings are not feasible, yet there is enough healthy tooth left that a dental
crown is not necessary, your tooth can be restored with the use of inlays and onlays. Inlays and onlays
are similar to dental crowns, except that these restorations do not cover the whole tooth; rather, they
restore only a portion of your natural crown. As their names indicate, an inlay restores the interior of
your tooth, while an onlay restores the exterior and cusps. Veneers ... Show more content on

Role Models As A Role Model
A role model is an imperfect person, not a perfect person, because that s who we are as real people
(Jennifer Love Hewitt) Everyone one needs somebody to look up to. During the video of the greatest
love of all Whitney Huston shows a couple of things. She wants tries to prove a point during the
video. The point she is trying to prove is that everyone needs a role model or even someone to look up
to.
When you re a little kid most of the time your first role models are a doctor, firefighter, or a teacher.
Most kids look up to them because they save lives. When kids think of doctors, they think of someone
helping their ailments. They look at firefighters as a positive role model because they save people out
of fires. They see them as role models because they are helping someone while putting their life at
risk. Kids most of the time think that teachers are role models because they see them in the class room
helping them. The teacher s best intentions are for the kids to get better and grow. That s why some
kids look up to teachers. These are some of the common role models for kids. There are so many
different role models. Its honestly up to the person to look up to them. Every man for himself.
Everyone has their own opinion. Your role model is the person in your opinion you look up to. No one
else can tell you who and what you can look up to.
During the video Whitney Hutson is trying to show flash backs of her life. In the beginning, she shows

Character Analysis Of Anne Of The Island
Anne of the Island, by L. M. Montgomery is a story about Anne Shirley going off to college, and
deciding who she was going to marry. The story is primarily set in Kingsport, the town around her
college, and Green Gables, her childhood home, during a time frame when it was very important for
girls to get married. Anne is the main character, but there are several additional key characters in the
story including: Marilla, her mother figure, who adopted Anne when she was eleven years old; Charlie
Sloane, who desperately wanted Anne to notice him; Gilbert Blythe, Anne s old school friend, who
came to college with her to become a doctor; and Royal Gardener, also known as Roy, who became
close friends with her while she was at college. When Anne first arrived at Redmond College, she was
thankful to have her friends at her side, especially Prissy Grant. Prissy thankfully knew her way
around town, and as she and Anne started to look around the city, they made a new friend, Philippa
Gordon. Phillipa couldn t make up her mind on anything, except that she was going to marry someone
wealthy to support her extravagant life style. Philippa had good intentions, and though she was
slightly annoying at times, Anne immediately befriended her. When Anne was home for summer
break, she received her first proposal, from Billy Andrews, whom she didn t even know that well.
Anne declined as politely as possible. It wasn t long before her next proposal came along, this time
from Charlie Sloane. Anne had never liked Charlie Sloane that much, and again she refused as politely
as she could. Soon, Anne received her next proposal, which was from Gilbert Blythe, and that was a
morning she d never forget. Up until that point Anne and Gilbert had been great friends, but Anne didn
t believe she truly loved him. Anne was heartbroken when she found that she must refuse him. She
once again declined as politely as she could, but Gilbert was heartbroken. Anne begged him not
change anything because of her refusal, but Gilbert knew that things could never be the same again
after that, and he told her so. Anne too was heartbroken over losing a good friend, and she was
beginning to wonder if that was all she d lost. Time passed, and Anne was

My Favorite Leisure Experiences In My Life
Throughout my life my leisure activities have changed many times. From playing video games; to
sports and hanging out with friends. Out of my many favorite leisure experiences my most favorite
would be hanging out with friends. Being with other people and having fun is one of the best feelings
to me because it takes off all the stress of my life difficulties. It is very important to reflect on one s
past and present leisure experiences because they reminds of the best and most fun memorable
moments in our lives. We live in a very stressful society where we hardly have any fun time due to
work, school, or just our very busy lives. During stressful times or difficult times reflecting on those
memorable moments has a very positive impact on us. As I have grown older I have definitely
experienced many of the levels of Nash s Paradigm of Free Time.
When I was in middle school I participated in activities that would be classified as acts performed
against society on Nash s Paradigm. At the time I was about 14 years old and did not think thoroughly
about my actions. I used to participate in shoplifting and vandalism as my leisure activities. Me and
my friends would hang out after school and tag the walls around our school and would go into stores
to steal snacks or drinks. At the time I did not realise how irresponsible and idiotic my actions were.
At first when I began to tag it had a bad psychological effect on me because I would be paranoid I was
going to get caught by the cops or someone of authority. The more I did it the less paranoid I felt but
never felt completely safe and always had a negative psychological effect. Tagging the walls was a
way to express how I felt at the time. I felt I had to represent my crew which i was involved with.
Participating in these activities did have a physical effect because most of the time I did a lot of
running. Whenever someone would catch us we had to run away as fast as we could and it would get
us tired. It did make me feel good the running had a good effect on my body as it slimed me down a
bit. This was a very social activity. Sometimes we would walk around in groups of 10 15 guys just
messing around and having fun. I did build a lot of friendships at the time by

Braving The Wilderness Chapter 1 Summary
The first chapter of Braving the Wilderness is Everywhere and Nowhere. This chapter is about her
family and her life as a teenager. The main topic is that we do numerous things with torment to not
feel it. We numb or deliver it on others, we deny it or pass it onto friends and family, or we discover
empathy for ourselves and claim the agony. In chapter 2 of Braving the Wilderness, she talks about the
political atmosphere and how it is like a battle zone. She also defines belonging on page 31. It says
belonging is the innate human desire to be part of something larger than us. I can relate to wanting to
belong especially in high school. She also tells us to learn how to be brave and to experience the
discomfort of standing alone is a skill we need to learn. In High Lonesome a ... Show more content on

We often assume that if people live a different way than us we can t be friends. We like to stick in a
group that makes us comfortable. In chapter 4, Speaking Truth to BS, Brene gives us seven guidelines
that help us stay civil: boundaries, reliability, accountability, vault confidentiality, integrity, non
judgement, and generosity. She is telling us that staying away from judgement allows us to see other
people s perspectives and look at people in a different way. In chapter 6, it is mainly bout how we
have spiritual connection with everyone in the world. We want to belong and connect. In Chapter 7,
Strong Back. Soft Front. Wild Heart., she says that if we want to make true belonging something in
our daily lives, we need to have courage and vulnerability. Strong Back refers to our calmness in the
face of trouble. It is how we hold our place in the world. Soft Front Is how we move toward others in
the spirit of compassion. It is how we really hear what others are saying. I really don t understand why

Abstract This paper will be discussing the cosplay, or costume play, subculture. In this paper, it will

most famous cosplay costumes, and what this subculture provides for those who take part in it.

Such cosplayers are also known to criticize other cosplayers for not having a full knowledge of their

cosplayers. (Cosplay, 2012) The second is those people who enjoy the attention that cosplaying a

Movie Special Effects
Special effects play a huge role in the film making and the movie industry. It has transformed
throughout the years from silent films to huge explosions and animated characters. I agree that without
special effects, the viewers would lose concentration and the story line would be lost. I personally
enjoy movies with effects because it creates something more than just a movie. It gives you a chance
to become engaged and the ability to feel as if you are with the characters and their experiences
throughout the movie. Special effects would not be where they are today without the help of advanced
technology such as the computer. From past films to present, you can see the transformation in the

As time continues and evolves, movie lovers standards change as well. In order to keep up with their
needs, movie producers need to contribute and exceed their boundaries as well. Each movie that is
produced to the public has raised the bar more and more. I like how you added the 3D effect because
this has emerged from special effects and gives the audience an experience like no other. I saw the
movie Space and I have never seen a movie like it. The whole movie took place in outer space and
showed the difficulties within the spaceship. The story line was intense and left you on the edge of
your seat, but what really made it stand out was the use of 3D imagery. It definetly showed me a
different side to movies and was left wanting to see more films like that. It is truly amazing to see the
work produced by film makers and producers. It is an art that is constantly growing and improving to
give the audience a movie experience they will never forget. Agreed that without special effects,
movies would not be the same. Special effects have become a necessity in the movie industry and has
left us wanting more. In the future, I too see a huge a breakthrough and we will witness incredible

detrimental. Once the pipeline is completed, all those who were employed will lose their jobs and be
put back into unemployment. This potentially negatively affects American home life. These temporary
jobs are not sufficient for the American economy. While these people are working, they tend to have
more money to buy things. When they lose their job, they are no longer be able to afford it. This

Synthesis And Function Of The Dopamine Transporter
In this experiment, the reaction that occurs because of ligand binding to YFP, a dopamine transporter
was observed. This experiment required sterility practice, immunofluorescence staining, and
colocalization. To accurately conduct immunofluorescence staining, a thorough understanding of
proper sterile techniques is needed. Sterility refers to cell culturing experiments without any
contamination, therefore all of the experiment was performed under the hood. No discoloration
signified no contamination. The entire experiment proved successful upon identifying the YFP
dopamine followed by colocalization and concluding with a release of calcium in the cell.

Similarities Between Montag And John In Fahrenheit 451
We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in awhile. How long is it since you

that? In the book Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury Guy Montag wants to seek knowledge within the

low 90s. I felt so weak after practice. No one said a word after practice either, not even Moss or
Carter. A bit discouraged, I went back to the hotel room and took a nice cold shower and basked in the
cool air conditioning afterwards.
Later in the day, my wife pointed out to me that there was a picture of me in the newspaper, vomiting.
When I saw that picture for the first time my stomach turned. I thought I was going to throw up again.
It was incredibly humiliating and I knew I couldn t let the people who looked up to me the most see
me like that. Not my teammates, my peers, my wife, my son, nobody. It was pathetic. With that picture
out in the media, I was already focused on tomorrow s practice. I was determined to come back the
next day, playing harder than ever, and proving everyone wrong.
The dining area was quieter than normal the morning of July 31st. I think everyone saw the picture,
and pitied me, even felt embarrassed for me. Despite what my teammates thought, their pity only fed
the fire that fueled my motivation, and I was positive that everyone knew that. I arrived at practice
extra early to adapt to the heat. The same heat that beat me to my knees yesterday, and the same heat
that I was going to conquer

Sophocles Oedipus Play ( B )
Oedipus play (c. 430 B.C.) by Sophocles pictures an Ancient Greek tragedy in which the main
character usually dies and there is intervention towards the main character s destiny; or the main
character is presented as a good person in the play, but oracles caused them to do bad things. A classic
Greek play such as Oedipus can be perceived not only as an art in literary work but also as an analysis
of Foucault s theory of power and power relations between the king and the seer of the kingdom.
Phillip and Huntley (1995) elaborates that character is a person, animal, initiate object on group
representing a unique approach to dealing with the story s problem. Meanwhile, Klarer (1999)
declared that character is the most important part such as a figure and a personality who plays role in a
literary work particularly novel, short story and play. In Sophocles Oedipus Rex, there are Oedipus,
Creon, Teiresias, Iocaste, Priest, Messenger, Shepherd of Laios, Second Messenger, and Chorus of
Theban Elders as the characters. The character that plays the most important part in the story is called
main character while the other characters that interact and communicate with the main character are
called minor characters. Thus, this essay will employ only two characters which are the king or so
called Oedipus as the main character and the seer who is named Teiresias as the minor character.
Those characters through the process of development are presented by the author which is called

The Theory Of Language Development
As of the present, humans are the only species that are able to put together structural linguistic
formations, such as words and sentences. Throughout the years there have been many theorists trying
to master the acquisition of human language and demonstrate the theory of how language is developed
in early years of life. This is a question people, including myself often think about. Using two
theorists, Burrhus Fredrick Skinner (1904 1990) and Avram Noam Chomsky (1928 present) we will
explore the two theories they studied in their lifetime and dedicate their life to, and contrast the two
theories of language development, exploring the Behaviorist Theory, studied by Skinner and the
Nativist Theory, studied by Chomsky.
These two theories of language development differ greatly from each other. Both Skinner and
Chomsky believed strongly in their theory. The first difference in the development of their theories
lies greatly in both of their occupations. Skinner was a psychologist and Chomsky was a linguist.
Skinner believed in the psychological side of language development and believed that children learn
to acquire language by using taught responses where he used his reinforcement theory and believed it
had nothing to do with any mental processes or devices in the brain that develop language. Chomsky
on the other hand used the idea where he believed strongly in the human brains capability to use the
Language Acquisition Device used in the brain, and the natural inbuilt ability

A meeting was scheduled. The following questions were communicated through email: Best practice
for presenting education to adults especially 65 years and up; education materials available at GHC
either written, internet, or otherwise; best practice for written information; other possible sources of
information on education to the elderly (65 years and up); any other information you think would be

Kathryn and Robyn had a few comments regarding the current packet of information given to patients
at the Bellevue GHC in the ophthalmology department (personal communication, November 2, 2015).
They stated the information contains too much bold print, is disorganized, and too extensive. They
indicated they collaborated in producing plain language products for other departments within GHC.
They query as to where they could be of most benefit. Contact for further instrumentation will be
made next year. Their remarks were valuable.
Objective #3. Analyze the collected data to determine the strengths and weakness is the final goal. It
appears the pre anesthesia screener corrects most of the system failures prior to the patient s scheduled

The Information Status Of The Information Technology...
Abstract
The analysis will pose a good go ahead in the industry and it will eliminate the possibility of too much
theorization. The main aim of the paper is to avoid the problem of too much theory about the fore
mentioned ITIL. The data that will be used will be usable will be mainly from the survey of the
companies which are in the Nordic region. (Cartel, 2015)
The research focuses on the investigation of the implementation of the information status of the
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).This research poses an advantage of
investigating the implementation of the ITIL functions and processes and the impact it has on the
implementation in the real life situations.

2010 Chile Earthquake Case Study
Earthquake Case History:
2010 Mw = 8.8 Mega thrust Earthquake, Maule, Chile
5/2/13
By Travis Eddy
1. Introduction
In early 2010 central south Chile experienced a Mw = 8.8 earthquake and large tsunami waves that
devastated areas on the Chilean Pacific coast, nearby offshore islands, and areas near the epicenter. In
addition to the tsunami, the earthquake had many other geological consequences including
aftershocks, terrestrial and submarine land sliding, elevation changes, and a gravity shift. The purpose
of this paper is to discuss and analyze the earthquake, its consequences, the resulting damages, and
mitigation.
2. Geologic Setting

The most severe impacts were observed on the Chilean coastline adjacent to the epicenter from San
Antonio Tirua, and 670 km offshore on the Juan Fernandez Archipelago (Synolakis, 2011; Yamazaki
and Cheung, 2011). The tsunami hit many areas close to the epicenter within 30 minutes of the main
event, however due to bathymetry and coastline shape, tsunami directions, impacts, and arrival times
vary. (Synolakis, 2011; Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011). For example, Talcahuano Harbor located in The
Bay of Concepcion 100 kilometers south of the epicenter experienced an impact from a resonated 129
minute period oscillating wave three hours after the main event (Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011).
Resonance such as this occurred in various areas along the Chilean coastline, and was caused by
standing and partial standing wave systems produced along the coast due to wave reflection between
the continental shelf and the headlands, resulting in radiated tsunami energy to become trapped over
the continental margin (Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011).
6. Land sliding
The main event caused both terrestrial and submarine land sliding to occur in the area. Around 30
slides were delineated, with a majority of them being submarine (Volker, et.al., 2011). These
submarine slides were confined to the walls of various submarine canyons, and were characterized as
thin transitional slides retrograding into open slopes adjacent to the canyons (Volker, et.al., 2011).

Examples Of Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson: Ambivalence in Nature Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was an American poet from the
mid nineteenth century. She had lived reclusively with her parents, composing approximately 1,800
known works of poetry. When she tried to get some of them published, they were rejected for their
strange punctuation and capitalization. Dickinson refused to change her writing style and eventually
gave up on poetry. Only until four years after her death was all of her poetry discovered and published
by a neighbor and close friend. Since Dickinson never thought her works would be published, none of
her poems had titles. Literary scholars identified and numbered these poems 1 1800. It is also
acceptable to identify these poems by their first line. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike in A Bird came down the Walk, Dickinson is interacting with nature in A narrow Fellow in the
Grass, and she, once again, can be seen experiencing a feeling of ambivalence about nature. When
Dickinson writes His notice instant is (4) she seems to describe the two being spontaneously spooked
by each other s presence. However, later in the poem, Dickinson says: Several of Nature s People I
know and they know me I feel for them a transport Of Cordiality (17 20).
By expressing her thoughts with words such as cordiality, she suggests that the snake, although
potentially dangerous and frightening, can also be calm and gracious. The snake can represent both
sides of the spectrum and strengthening Dickinson s claim of nature s ambivalence. Dickinson s poem,
Apparently with no surprise, expresses her same theme of confusion about nature. In the beginning of
the poem, Dickinson says:
Apparently with no surprise,
To any happy flower,
The frost beheads it at its play,
In accidental power.
The blond assassin passes on. (1 5)
She is explaining the process of flowers dying to the cold frost overnight. With her language and
comparison of the frost to an assassin, one can assume that Dickinson disapproves of nature s brutal
actions. However, in the first line of the poem, Dickinson introduces the events as no surprise, so she
understands that it s a normal course of action in terms of nature and that time will go on. Later in the
poem she

Epidemiological Studies Essay
One of the most useful outcomes of studying epidemiology is learning how to evaluate critically the
scientific literature (Aschengrau Seage, 2008). Critical assessment of this literature is an important
skill for public health professionals because the findings of epidemiologic research inform so many
activities (Aschengrau Seage, 2008). Munnoch et al. (2008) done epidemiological studies on
S.Saintpaul infection occurred in Australia during October 2006 and found that cantaloupe production
and processing practices pose a potential public health threat requiring regulatory and community
education interventions. Based on main journal article written upon this subject, this article will

According to Munnoch et al.2008 the objective of study was cleared that consumption of cantaloupe
was directly linked to the infection and hypothesis study done was relevant because it states that
cantaloupe was consumed more frequently by cases than expected when compared with the food
consumption data for controls from an Australian Campylobacter case control study. So study
identified a strong epidemiological association between S.Saintapaul infection and consumption of
cantaloupe, with cases being 23 times more likely to have consumed cantaloupe in the 4 days prior to
onset of illness than controls. As there were so many people involved in the research so study done
was observational study, as no action was taken to change the health outcome people were simply
observed (Webb Bain, 2011). The study design used to measure in terms of hypothesis generation
method and observational study was useful.
STUDY PARAMETERS
Research exposure
Observational study design examined on the basis of exposure and health outcome. The exposure of
interest is the factor that either causes, Prevents, or treats the outcome. It is important to consider
whether the exposure was accurately defined and measured because exposure misclassification stems
from broad definitions and inaccurate measurements. (Aschengrau Seage, 2008). According to

The Sorites Paradox And The Epistemic View
solution to it.
The Sorites Paradox begins with the problem that if one looks at a vague term such as a heap, at what
point is it no longer a heap if you keep taking grains of sand out of it. The same can be said for cattle,
if one keeps removing cattle from a herd when will it no longer be a herd. The Sorites Paradox is
paradoxical because all the premises appear to be true as well as the argument being valid (the
conclusion really follows from the premises); yet the conclusion appears to be false. In which case
there must be a problem with one of the premises in order for the conclusion to be false, however it is
very difficult to see which premise is false. One proposed solution to the problem is the Epistemic
view.
There are two versions of the argument the many premise version and the two premise version.
The keys steps in the many premise version of the Sorites Paradox are as follows:
(MPS) (1) 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap; (2) If 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap, then
1,000,000 1 (= 999,999) grains of sand make a heap;
So
(3) 999,999 grains of sand make a heap.
(Morris, 2016)
The argument begins with 1,000,000 grains of sand which can obviously be seen as a heap. One grain
of sand is subtracted each time e.g 1,000,000 1 = 999,999 grains of sand, with the conclusion
following that 999,999 grains of sand make a heap. This seems a valid argument as the conclusion
follows from the premises and it is clear that 999,999 grains of sand being

Analysis Of Mud By Maria Irene Fornes
Mud (1983) is one of Maria Irene Fornes s best plays. Like Fefu and her Friends, it is set in the
preindustrial society (Savaran 2012, 56); the incidents take place in a small unnamed rural town in the
1930s when feminism was not firmly established, and women were struggling to get their rights. The
play revolves around three characters, Mae, the only female character in the play, and two male
characters, Lloyd, her illiterate foster brother and former boyfriend, and Henry, her neighbour and new
boyfriend. The society in which Mae lives is a patriarchal one where she was previously dominated by
her father and later by Lloyd. In such a society women are considered subordinate to and of lower
rank than men. They are looked upon as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

died he went to hell with himself. He got sick and died and he left Lloyd here [...]. I don t know what
we are. We are related but I don t know what to call it. We are not brother and sister. We are like
animals who grow up and mate. (Fornes, Mud 1986, 28)
Both Mae and Lloyd suffer from poverty. However, Lloyd is careless; he mindlessly looks after their
pig and farms the land. He is highly dependent on Mae; besides, he is satisfied with his own status. On
the other hand, Mae toils in ironing clothes in order to support herself and Lloyd; she is the sole
breadwinner of the family. Additionally, she prepares food. Mae is unsatisfied with her own
conditions; she yearns to improve herself and her life, and plans to escape from the sexual and
economic exploitation of Lloyd. She is aware that her aspirations can be achieved through education.
Consequently, she attends literacy classes at a school; she as Mala Renganathan expresses it, dreams
of educating herself and making herself literate (2010, 8). Lloyd is entirely unlike Mae, he is not eager
to learn and improve himself;

Personal Contiguity And Personal Identity
Personal identity is the unique numerical identity of a person in the course of his or her lifetime.
Identification is necessary and sufficient conditions under which a person at one time and a person at

Nationalism is the ideology based on the foundation that the individual s loyalty and devotion to the

people are able to relate to and identify as being that can include; their culture, homeland, family,

tends to bring enemies too because not everyone is born in the same place and it tends to bring

Land based casinos
They have been around for over 100 years and have even been the subject of several Hollywood

However, the new innovation in the world of online casinos is set to take the industry to new heights.
Live casinos promise to bring the real time casino experience into your home and many ways they do
just that. Through a video stream setup you are able to interact with the dealer and play as if you were
at a real casino. What makes them so popular is that you forsake all the expensive costs that come
associated with land based casinos, you can bet anything and everything and do so without the need to
tip or sign up for an expensive casino membership. You ll also never need to travel far, as you can play
24/7 from wherever you are. Many live casinos also run competitions regularly, which you can get
involved in whenever you see fit. The last and probably most popular reason why people play at live
casinos is for focus. Without the casino floor distractions it can be argued that you can implement
strategy easier and have a greater chance of success. While there are plenty of reasons as to why
millions play at live casinos, the format isn t perfect. Playing at home doesn t offer the true Las Vegas
feel that many who gamble love. You aren t sat around tables amidst the hustle and bustle of the casino
floor, you are playing at home and thus a bit of the famous casino buzz is missing.

It is sad to see how these teenagers think of themselves as being cool because of the activities they
choose to do, when they each see how it is making them live a shorter life and none of them are doing
a thing about it. Life is worth more than feeling cool. Proverbs says, Since they hated knowledge...the
waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them (Proverbs
1:29a, 32). The teenagers in We Real Cool have an image of their selves as being cool on the outside
because of the badly behaved things they are taking part in and want others to think them as being
cool. These teenagers want to think that they are cool for doing the things they do, but they know that
the destructive life they live will soon be a factor to their deaths. Brooks demonstrates in We Real
Cool that even though people acknowledge their own behavior and think of themselves as being cool,
their destructive ways will be a part of their short lives and none of their coolness will ever matter
again.

Haitian Bridge Scenario
SCENARIO The French government had donated that bridge to help the Haitian people. As I stated
before, this kind of bridge must not stay on the terrain for a long time. This time would be different
due to the peculiar situation of those villages. The cities of Dondon and San Rafael used the former

people used a ford path in the river to cross. They really needed that bridge.

Finally, our platoon arrived at the bridge place. Already on arrival, we realized the first problem. The
road that led to the bridge was very narrow. This greatly hindered the way that we had to put our

not to miss any detail of the work. Our stuff was widespread, impairing the smooth progress of work.
Despite all this, we were all motivated and glad to help those people. We had a hard work long day. In
the end of day, we were exhausted. Next morning everything would start again. The place we were
was quite away from the city. Because of that, there was no internet signal available. We would be
nearly 15 days without contact with our families. Looking to the bright side of it was the opportunity
to spend time together exchanging

Bipolar And Bipolar Disorder ( Bipolar )
Bipolar robs you of that which is you. It can take from you the very core of your being and replace it
with something that is completely opposite of who and what you truly are (A. Reyan 2015). Bipolar
disorder is a mood disorder that alters a person s life, they can never go back to who they were before.
It is estimated that more than 10 million Americans suffer from bipolar disorder (everydayhealth.com
2015). Bipolar disorder is broken down into two types; bipolar I and bipolar II disorder. Bipolar I
disorder must contain one manic episode in a person s life. Whereas Bipolar II disorder requires one
hypomanic episode to occur. The prevalence of Bipolar disorder is around 4% within the United
States, with only 1.0% of that being Bipolar I disorder. Not a lot of research has been done, to
determine which race is more prevalent for this disorder (NIMH.org 2015). People of lower
socioeconomic status have been linked to have higher rates of Bipolar I disorder. Bipolar I disorder is
more common among women than men, with a ratio of ~3:2 (CDC.org 2015). Bipolar I disorder
typically develops in a person s late teen or early adulthood with an average onset age of 25 years old.
Bipolar I disorder is defined as manic depressive illness, is a brain disorder that causes unusual shifts
in mood, energy, activity levels, and the ability to carry out day to day tasks (NIMH.org 2015).
Symptoms need to last 7 days or have manic symptoms so severe that the person needs

Essay On Crack Cocaine
Crack Cocaine the drug that has impacted so many lives; especially the life of rappers. Crack Cocaine
is the refined result of cocoa leaves. However, crack cocaine was not developed until the cocaine
boom of 1970. Large shipments of this drug was now making its way into the inner cities of the
United States, and the majority of residents living in those inner cities were African American. Black
on black crime was now more common than ever, incarceration within the black community was
skyrocketing, abandonment of children was typical and the spread of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
was devastating. Many factors were playing a part of this, and Hip Hop was a big one. Hip hop from

According to Grandmaster Melle Mel s song, The message , he clearly described an environment
where it was highly susceptible to crack cocaine. It wasn t just a couple of neighbors, but all the
neighborhoods that were being occupied by African Americans in America found themselves in the
environment that highly influenced by Crack cocaine. Miguel Martinez is a contributor on Rap
Genius, a website that provides annotation and interpretation of songs, news, and any documentation

impoverished urban communities were a perfect mixing pot for the crack epidemic setting the mostly
black community, on a destructive path . Rappers that talk highly about drug consumption grew up in
these environments. These artists that talk heavily about drugs on their because it is something their

It is inevitable that crack has had a huge impact on rap music and hip hop culture in general. Rappers
from generations after generation used their music to express that. They used rap to uplift themselves,
although crack was part of their lives, it was also a part of them. They either had some type of past

Transcontinental Railroad Essay
THE TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD PROJECT The Development, Financing, and
Construction The transcontinental railroad system would come to be a huge network of railroads laid
out across the North American continent, most famously known for connecting the eastern part of the
U.S. railroads with the Pacific west coast area. The greater transcontinental railroad itself consists of
several railroads projects, the first of which were the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroads, and
later, the Northern Pacific, Santa Fe, Great Northern, Texas and Pacific, and Western Pacific projects
would follow suite. All of were approved for construction shortly after the Civil War. Prior to the war
there was some skepticism towards the railway system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Government bonds were issued on a per mile for each twenty mile section of track completed. For the
plateau between the Rocky and Sierra Nevada Mountains the amount per mile was about $32,000 per
mile and for the mountain regions, $48,000. All plain, flat lands were priced at $16,000 per mile
(Klein) (Gordon 217). It was very difficult to raise the needed capital as the majority of people in the
east viewed the west as, remote as the moon, its terrain alien and forbidding (Klein). The pioneers of
these projects knew it would take an immense amount of resources. It was very clear to both the
railroad companies and the government, there would not be profit for the construction of the railroad,
only after it is finished. The debt from these bonds had to be paid back, and the only way to do so was
through private investment. The appendix of this paper shows a news clipping of such an

Lord Of The Flies Nature Analysis
William Golding s experiences in World War II deeply influenced his views on man s nature. Golding
s allegorical novel Lord of The Flies explores the frightening and consistent, yet ignored, truths of
man s nature. British schoolboys board a plane in hopes to escape their war torn land. Unfortunately,
the plane is shot down, thrusting the boys into a deserted island and leaving them to their own devices.
At first, the boys look to find independence and freedom in the island. However, as the boys dig
deeper and uncover more and more truths about ____________, it is clear that the island has
imprisoned them. Civilization no longer matters. How is the island a mask for the evils within?
______How do the boys take advantage of the freedom, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shift inhibit Jack s loss of childhood innocence and displays his vulnerability to the evil which
has taken root in his heart. Jack is no longer human; he is a savage who has lost all control and power
over his own life. So, he looks for control and power in the lives of others.
Regardless of Jack s self serving manners, in order to ensure their own security, the boys blindly trust
and give power to Jack. The boys are forced to blindly trust Jack. It is in human nature to either lead
or to follow and Jack refuses to do the latter. Although the boys follow Jack throughout the novel,
there is evidence of slight resistance in the beginning. When asked for support for Jack, with dreary
obedience the choir raised their hands (Golding 23). Though the choir supports Jack, it is important to
note that pause. The pause signifies a moment of not only hesitation, but thought. The shadow of
doubt, which ceases to exist further on, has passed over their minds for a brief moment. In this
moment, the boys are free. Too soon, the boys are engulfed in the power of Jack which rips apart any
chance for the boys to think for themselves. Jack says, See? They do what I want (Golding 179). No
matter whether the leader or the follower, each one holds a responsibility. The leader holds the

Loren Eiseley Essay
Loren Eiseley was a strong autobiographical nature writer who was also contemporary in some ways.
He was born in 1907 and lived until 1977 in the plains of Nebraska. His mother was deaf and a
unstable mother. As a child Loren spent his childhood writing stories and poetry, this was an interest
of his at a early age resulting him to his future of being a nature writer. Loren Eiseley eventually
became a professor in Pennsylvania teaching anthropology. In the mid 20th century he made a
achievement of publishing his first book, not only was this his first book but it was a best seller. It
influenced many Americans on human nature and natural events. Eiseley spent much of his life alone,
he talks about New York City in his writings and how their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To me being in a city like New York and going to the train station is something so far from nature.
Loren has seen a different way of looking at this in a nature way, since he observes the crows and
pigeons. Not only does Loren Eiseley talk bout New York but also his experiences in the forests of
nature. He has said You may put it that I had come over a mountain, that I had slogged through fern
and pine needles for half a long day, and that on the edge of a little glade with one long, crooked
branch extending across it, I had sat down to rest with my back against a stump. Through accident I
was concealed from the glade, although I could see into it perfectly. The sun was warm there, and the
murmurs of the forest life blurred softly into my sleep. When I awoke, dimly aware of some
commotion and outcry in the clearing, the light was slanting down through the pines in such a way
that the glade was lit like some vast cathedral. I could see the dust motes of the wood pollen in the
long shaft of light, and there on the extended branch sat an enormous raven with red and squirming
nestling in his beak. In this passage Loren Eiseley was so descriptive I could imagine him trudging
through the ferns and the pine forests falling asleep next to a

Z For Zachariah Analysis
Everyone seems to think the kind of hardship you ve been thru describes your character. But in reality,
it is what you do with that hardship that really shows it. In Margaret Peterson Haddix s Running out of
time a young girl, by the name of Jessie, has to leave her village in order to help everyone. She leaves
because she has to go get medicine and has to stop her friends from dying. This was her hardship and
she chose to deal with it by helping out. In Z for Zachariah by Robert c. O Brien, also a young girl,
Ann has to deal with her hardship of she thinks the entire world dying besides an older man who
wants to harm her. She deals with it by running away and leaving him behind. There are many more
themes in the story, but the strongest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although they deal with their hardship in different ways, both ways took courage and were difficult to
do. Both running out of time and z for Zachariah are similar because both main characters being
young girls, ages 13 and 16, have gone through hardship. Along with hardships they have to also fix it.
Deal with it. Both the young girls have chosen to deal with this hardship with courage. In z for
Zachariah it took courage for Ann to finally move out of the house after Mr.loomis attacked her. On
page 177 the author talks about her being nervous by I did not sleep any more that night. After I got
out out of the house, I ran, not thinking where I went, not caring. I just wanted to get away as fast as I
could...my ears were pounding with my own heartbeat Some might think that getting out of the house
was not courage but just protecting herself. While this may be true, earlier in the book, when Ann had
left the house during the night, Mr.loomis almost shot her. So, by leaving the first time she was almost
killed. By leaving a

Hurston Vernacular
One of the most unique aspects of Hurston s novel is her juxtaposition of vernacular and non
vernacular speech. This deliberate division is clearly drawn from the beginning: the first words of the
book read, Ships at a distance have every man s wish on board, while Janie s first words are, Aw,
pretty god, Ah m tryin to soak some uh de tiredness and de dirt outa mah feet (1, 4). As the narrator
herself explains, there are many moments where the character don t know the words for all this, but
[they know] the feeling (80). Illustrating the chasm between what characters feel and how they
express (or don t express) themselves, this theme of unvoiced thought versus spoken word plays a
crucial role in the novel. Through the distinct creation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the novel, the horizon symbolizes one s personal volitions and wishes, illustrating the
potential for a better life. Just as the literal horizon seems to connect the sky and the earth, so Hurston
s metaphorical horizon connects the life that people lead and the life they want to lead. The
importance of free will and therefore, of freely dreaming and wishing, is a central theme in Their Eyes
were Watching God, so important that the acting symbol representing one s personal ambition acts as
figurative bookends to the novel. The book begins by saying that [wishes] sail forever toward the
horizon, and ends by describing that same horizon being pulled in like a great fish net (1, 193).
Through the horizon, Hurston continually highlights the importance of that great American ideal of
pursuing personal

The quake itself was weak and not cause any damage to the local. However the significant part about this earthquake is that it originated from ten kilometers underground, or about 6.2 miles. Which was interesting because seismologists report on October seventh. That Rocks at that depth should be too hot and malleable to snag and break. Which is a key cause of earthquakes. This implies that there is some unknown process at the root of the fault. That caused this quack to happen says study coauthor Asaf Inbal, a seismologist at Caltech. Sex In High School Sex Seems like there s only one choice: The downsides of being a slut Kann, who did research on high school sex for the CDC, reports that [i]n 2015, 41% of high school students reported having sexual intercourse (Kann Youth Risk Recapp). These results show evidence that nearly half of all high school students are engaging in sexual intercourse. Out of this group, studies by the Kaiser Family Foundation find startling facts like the idea that [a]ccording to a 1994 study, every year an estimated one in four sexually active teens contracts a sexually transmitted infection (STI) (Kaiser Family Foundation U.S. Teen Sexual ). Many students will then receive sexually transmitted infections and further spread them. As the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance states, Nationwide, 41.2% of students had ever had sexual intercourse, 30.1% had had sexual intercourse during the 3 months before the survey (i.e., currently sexually active), and 11.5% had had sexual intercourse with four or more persons during their life (Kann. L, et al, youth risk ). This wide range of sexual partners in a high school setting greatly distributes very dangerous sexually transmitted diseases. As UNAIDS, a global effort to end aids foundation s research, states, 1 million [830 000 1.2 million] people died from AIDS related illnesses in 2016 (UNAIDS Fact sheet latest statistics ). • 6. Al Capone And His Life Of Crime And Villainy Al Capone Al Capone is known for his murders, gambling, and prostitution. He would even smash people s skulls open by hitting them on the side of the head with a bat! His parents would have never known that he would become the lead gangster of the prohibition era. What made him turn to his life of crime and villainy? He was just a normal schoolboy. Maybe it was his desire to support his family. Possibly it was meeting Johnny Torrio, that changed his perspective on crime. Or maybe it was both. Al Capone s real name is Alphonse Gabriel Capone. He was an Italian immigrant. His father was Gabriel Capone and his mother was Teresa Capone. He lived in just a little more than a slum. He went to a Catholic school that did not tolerate violence and scarred the susceptible kid. He was later expelled at the age of 14 for hitting a female teacher. He later met Johnny Torrio which could have been the greatest influence in his life. Johnny Torrio was a key figure to Al Capone . Later Al Capone joined Torrio s James Street Boys gang. He later stopped the gang life and settled down and married middle class Irish girl Mae Coughlin and worked as a bookkeeper. He was soon to return to his old job with Torrio in Chicago. His father s death affected him greatly. His reputation was growing a lot at this point. He would never go anywhere without two bodyguards. He would even be smashed by bodyguards when in the car. Why Gmail s Adding Image Caching is Important Because image tracking can be used to measure the effectiveness of an email marketing campaign, based in some part on the open rate, it has become a fundamental part of the email marketers took kit. Therefore, Gmail s decision in December 2013, to add image cashing, seems to have created concerns for a great many people, not all of these concerns can yet be answered. It is also worth remembering that Gmail has in the past decided to roll things out, and then taken the decision to roll them back in favour of a phased transition to deployment. Reputedly, Google claim to have resolved the malware issue by hosting images via a proxy server. This means that any embedded malware contained in an email won t show up. Security researchers claim that this new technology poses an even more serious threat, in that Google are now able to read its users messages both without their permission, and whether or not the messages have been opened. There have also been claims that spammers are able to email the same image to everyone, assigning every image with a unique url. Each url would then provide a tracking facility informing spammers if the email had in fact been opened or not. Google responded by saying they offer a feature that allow users to opt out of displaying any images in emails. They also said that they can remove the proxy server if the image display was a problem, and require the user to press show images. The Impact on Using Email Marketing for Businesses For users of Gmail the changes simply mean that images contained in the emails they receive will be automatically displayed in the messages, without the need to click on a link to view it. Businesses that use email marketing, specifically analytical packages, the data of certain data could be affected. Role Models As A Role Model A role model is an imperfect person, not a perfect person, because that s who we are as real people (Jennifer Love Hewitt) Everyone one needs somebody to look up to. During the video of the greatest love of all Whitney Huston shows a couple of things. She wants tries to prove a point during the video. The point she is trying to prove is that everyone needs a role model or even someone to look up to. When you re a little kid most of the time your first role models are a doctor, firefighter, or a teacher. Most kids look up to them because they save lives. When kids think of doctors, they think of someone helping their ailments. They look at firefighters as a positive role model because they save people out of fires. They see them as role models because they are helping someone while putting their life at risk. Kids most of the time think that teachers are role models because they see them in the class room helping them. The teacher s best intentions are for the kids to get better and grow. That s why some kids look up to teachers. These are some of the common role models for kids. There are so many different role models. Its honestly up to the person to look up to them. Every man for himself. Everyone has their own opinion. Your role model is the person in your opinion you look up to. No one else can tell you who and what you can look up to. • 11. Character Analysis Of Anne Of The Island Anne of the Island, by L. M. Montgomery is a story about Anne Shirley going off to college, and deciding who she was going to marry. The story is primarily set in Kingsport, the town around her college, and Green Gables, her childhood home, during a time frame when it was very important for girls to get married. Anne is the main character, but there are several additional key characters in the story including: Marilla, her mother figure, who adopted Anne when she was eleven years old; Charlie Sloane, who desperately wanted Anne to notice him; Gilbert Blythe, Anne s old school friend, who came to college with her to become a doctor; and Royal Gardener, also known as Roy, who became close friends with her while she was at college. When Anne first arrived at Redmond College, she was thankful to have her friends at her side, especially Prissy Grant. Prissy thankfully knew her way around town, and as she and Anne started to look around the city, they made a new friend, Philippa Gordon. Phillipa couldn t make up her mind on anything, except that she was going to marry someone wealthy to support her extravagant life style. Philippa had good intentions, and though she was slightly annoying at times, Anne immediately befriended her. When Anne was home for summer break, she received her first proposal, from Billy Andrews, whom she didn t even know that well. Anne declined as politely as possible. It wasn t long before her next proposal came along, this time from Charlie Sloane. Anne had never liked Charlie Sloane that much, and again she refused as politely as she could. Soon, Anne received her next proposal, which was from Gilbert Blythe, and that was a morning she d never forget. Up until that point Anne and Gilbert had been great friends, but Anne didn t believe she truly loved him. Anne was heartbroken when she found that she must refuse him. She once again declined as politely as she could, but Gilbert was heartbroken. Anne begged him not change anything because of her refusal, but Gilbert knew that things could never be the same again after that, and he told her so. • 12. My Favorite Leisure Experiences In My Life Throughout my life my leisure activities have changed many times. From playing video games; to sports and hanging out with friends. Out of my many favorite leisure experiences my most favorite would be hanging out with friends. Being with other people and having fun is one of the best feelings to me because it takes off all the stress of my life difficulties. It is very important to reflect on one s past and present leisure experiences because they reminds of the best and most fun memorable moments in our lives. We live in a very stressful society where we hardly have any fun time due to work, school, or just our very busy lives. During stressful times or difficult times reflecting on those memorable moments has a very positive impact on us. As I have grown older I have definitely experienced many of the levels of Nash s Paradigm of Free Time. When I was in middle school I participated in activities that would be classified as acts performed against society on Nash s Paradigm. At the time I was about 14 years old and did not think thoroughly about my actions. I used to participate in shoplifting and vandalism as my leisure activities. Me and my friends would hang out after school and tag the walls around our school and would go into stores to steal snacks or drinks. At the time I did not realise how irresponsible and idiotic my actions were. At first when I began to tag it had a bad psychological effect on me because I would be paranoid I was going to get caught by the cops or someone of authority. The more I did it the less paranoid I felt but never felt completely safe and always had a negative psychological effect. Tagging the walls was a way to express how I felt at the time. I felt I had to represent my crew which i was involved with. Participating in these activities did have a physical effect because most of the time I did a lot of running. Whenever someone would catch us we had to run away as fast as we could and it would get us tired. It did make me feel good the running had a good effect on my body as it slimed me down a bit. This was a very social activity. Sometimes we would walk around in groups of 10 15 guys just messing around and having fun. I did build a lot of friendships at the time by ... The main topic is that we do numerous things with torment to not feel it. We numb or deliver it on others, we deny it or pass it onto friends and family, or we discover empathy for ourselves and claim the agony. In chapter 2 of Braving the Wilderness, she talks about the political atmosphere and how it is like a battle zone. She also defines belonging on page 31. This experiment required sterility practice, immunofluorescence staining, and colocalization. To accurately conduct immunofluorescence staining, a thorough understanding of proper sterile techniques is needed. Sterility refers to cell culturing experiments without any contamination, therefore all of the experiment was performed under the hood. No discoloration signified no contamination. A classic Greek play such as Oedipus can be perceived not only as an art in literary work but also as an analysis of Foucault s theory of power and power relations between the king and the seer of the kingdom. Phillip and Huntley (1995) elaborates that character is a person, animal, initiate object on group representing a unique approach to dealing with the story s problem. Throughout the years there have been many theorists trying to master the acquisition of human language and demonstrate the theory of how language is developed in early years of life. This is a question people, including myself often think about. Using two theorists, Burrhus Fredrick Skinner (1904 1990) and Avram Noam Chomsky (1928 present) we will explore the two theories they studied in their lifetime and dedicate their life to, and contrast the two theories of language development, exploring the Behaviorist Theory, studied by Skinner and the Nativist Theory, studied by Chomsky. These two theories of language development differ greatly from each other. Both Skinner and Chomsky believed strongly in their theory. The first difference in the development of their theories lies greatly in both of their occupations. Skinner was a psychologist and Chomsky was a linguist. Skinner believed in the psychological side of language development and believed that children learn to acquire language by using taught responses where he used his reinforcement theory and believed it had nothing to do with any mental processes or devices in the brain that develop language. The most severe impacts were observed on the Chilean coastline adjacent to the epicenter from San Antonio Tirua, and 670 km offshore on the Juan Fernandez Archipelago (Synolakis, 2011; Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011). The tsunami hit many areas close to the epicenter within 30 minutes of the main event, however due to bathymetry and coastline shape, tsunami directions, impacts, and arrival times vary. (Synolakis, 2011; Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011). For example, Talcahuano Harbor located in The Bay of Concepcion 100 kilometers south of the epicenter experienced an impact from a resonated 129 minute period oscillating wave three hours after the main event (Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011). Resonance such as this occurred in various areas along the Chilean coastline, and was caused by standing and partial standing wave systems produced along the coast due to wave reflection between the continental shelf and the headlands, resulting in radiated tsunami energy to become trapped over the continental margin (Yamazaki and Cheung, 2011). 6. Land sliding The main event caused both terrestrial and submarine land sliding to occur in the area. Around 30 slides were delineated, with a majority of them being submarine (Volker, et.al., 2011). Only until four years after her death was all of her poetry discovered and published by a neighbor and close friend. • 29. The Sorites Paradox And The Epistemic View solution to it. The Sorites Paradox begins with the problem that if one looks at a vague term such as a heap, at what point is it no longer a heap if you keep taking grains of sand out of it. The same can be said for cattle, if one keeps removing cattle from a herd when will it no longer be a herd. The Sorites Paradox is paradoxical because all the premises appear to be true as well as the argument being valid (the conclusion really follows from the premises); yet the conclusion appears to be false. In which case there must be a problem with one of the premises in order for the conclusion to be false, however it is very difficult to see which premise is false. One proposed solution to the problem is the Epistemic view. There are two versions of the argument the many premise version and the two premise version. The keys steps in the many premise version of the Sorites Paradox are as follows: (MPS) (1) 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap; (2) If 1,000,000 grains of sand make a heap, then 1,000,000 1 (= 999,999) grains of sand make a heap; So (3) 999,999 grains of sand make a heap. (Morris, 2016) The argument begins with 1,000,000 grains of sand which can obviously be seen as a heap. One grain of sand is subtracted each time e.g 1,000,000 1 = 999,999 grains of sand, with the conclusion following that 999,999 grains of sand make a heap. This seems a valid argument as the conclusion follows from the premises and it is clear that 999,999 grains of sand being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Death We Real Cool Death in We Real Cool In Gwendolyn Brooks poem We Real Cool Seven African American high school dropouts want everyone to admire them. These teenagers explain how they stay out late playing pool, fighting, sinning and drinking. Though they believe they have everybody else fooled, they know themselves that the destructive behavior they are taking part in will lead to their death. The sluggard s carving will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work (Proverbs 21:25) The Bible makes a very clear statement in this passage as to how being lazy can be the cause of one s death. It is sad to see how these teenagers think of themselves as being cool because of the activities they choose to do, when they each see how it is making them live a shorter life and none of them are doing a thing about it. Life is worth more than feeling cool. Proverbs says, Since they hated knowledge...the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them (Proverbs 1:29a, 32). The teenagers in We Real Cool have an image of their selves as being cool on the outside because of the badly behaved things they are taking part in and want others to think them as being cool. These teenagers want to think that they are cool for doing the things they do, but they know that the destructive life they live will soon be a factor to their deaths. Brooks demonstrates in We Real Cool that even though people acknowledge their own behavior and think of themselves as being cool, their destructive ways will be a part of their short lives and none of their coolness will ever matter again. • 39. Haitian Bridge Scenario SCENARIO The French government had donated that bridge to help the Haitian people. As I stated before, this kind of bridge must not stay on the terrain for a long time. This time would be different due to the peculiar situation of those villages. The cities of Dondon and San Rafael used the former bridge for many purposes like to take children to school, go to the doctor appointments and day by day displacements. The old bridge had fallen three years ago during a tropical storm. Since that day, people used a ford path in the river to cross. They really needed that bridge. PUTTING THE PLAN IN PRACTICE Finally, our platoon arrived at the bridge place. Already on arrival, we realized the first problem. The road that led to the bridge was very narrow. This greatly hindered the way that we had to put our bridge material on the ground. Looking around us, we realized we had a solution. There was a private land next to the perfect installation location to accommodate all material. I shifted up to the residence with our sergeant who was a French interpreter. In the end of day, we were exhausted. Next morning everything would start again. The place we were was quite away from the city. Because of that, there was no internet signal available. We would be nearly 15 days without contact with our families. Looking to the bright side of it was the opportunity to spend time together exchanging ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not a lot of research has been done, to determine which race is more prevalent for this disorder (NIMH.org 2015). People of lower socioeconomic status have been linked to have higher rates of Bipolar I disorder. Bipolar I disorder is more common among women than men, with a ratio of ~3:2 (CDC.org 2015). Regardless of Jack s self serving manners, in order to ensure their own security, the boys blindly trust and give power to Jack. The boys are forced to blindly trust Jack. It is in human nature to either lead or to follow and Jack refuses to do the latter. Although the boys follow Jack throughout the novel, there is evidence of slight resistance in the beginning. When asked for support for Jack, with dreary obedience the choir raised their hands (Golding 23). Though the choir supports Jack, it is important to note that pause. The pause signifies a moment of not only hesitation, but thought. The shadow of doubt, which ceases to exist further on, has passed over their minds for a brief moment. In this moment, the boys are free. Too soon, the boys are engulfed in the power of Jack which rips apart any chance for the boys to think for themselves. Jack says, See? He has said You may put it that I had come over a mountain, that I had slogged through fern and pine needles for half a long day, and that on the edge of a little glade with one long, crooked branch extending across it, I had sat down to rest with my back against a stump. Through accident I was concealed from the glade, although I could see into it perfectly. The sun was warm there, and the murmurs of the forest life blurred softly into my sleep. When I awoke, dimly aware of some commotion and outcry in the clearing, the light was slanting down through the pines in such a way that the glade was lit like some vast cathedral. I could see the dust motes of the wood pollen in the long shaft of light, and there on the extended branch sat an enormous raven with red and squirming nestling in his beak. This deliberate division is clearly drawn from the beginning: the first words of the book read, Ships at a distance have every man s wish on board, while Janie s first words are, Aw, pretty god, Ah m tryin to soak some uh de tiredness and de dirt outa mah feet (1, 4). As the narrator herself explains, there are many moments where the character don t know the words for all this, but [they know] the feeling (80). The importance of free will and therefore, of freely dreaming and wishing, is a central theme in Their Eyes were Watching God, so important that the acting symbol representing one s personal ambition acts as figurative bookends to the novel. The book begins by saying that [wishes] sail forever toward the horizon, and ends by describing that same horizon being pulled in like a great fish net (1, 193).
