Various Factors For Online Shopping
Abstract
The current research is based on online shopping and various reasons for shopping cart abandonment.
It is an attempt to study various factors causing cart abandonment during online shopping. Various
factors have been identified and study how and why these factors influence cart abandonment. Total
seven potential factors are identified viz. information search, delivery, payment, product, personal
information, technicality and freebies as probable reasons. The research summarized all these factors
with factor load and explanation to justify the findings. The result of the research presents valuable
inputs for online sellers to study and resolve these factors in order to increase online participation of
buyers and reduce cart abandonment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purchase and sale transaction is completely accomplished through the internet (E commerce), and
the biggest advantage of being online is there is no requirement of intermediary and this results
reduction in cost.
In recent times online shopping has become very popular among the internet users. Still the target area
of online marketing is middle class, higher middle class and upper class segment but the approach of
online marketing is growing day by day. The basic reason behind this targeted area must be there
should be a computer or a smart phone, a bank account and a debit or credit card, computer literacy
etc.
The way of shopping is changed with the advancement of the technology. According to a study if any
e commerce company focuses on the demographic characteristics of the shopper, it is concluded that
the higher the level of income, occupation and education of the head of the family then the perception
towards online shopping is more favourable. If consumer is inclined towards technology, then his
attitude towards online or non store shopping is increased. Online shopping has widened the
segmentation and target audience. Earlier the young educated men were the main users of online
shopping but this perception is changing with time. For example, in United States of America the
women user internet was very few but till 2001 the population of women were increased and it was

Aol Time Warner- What Went Wrong
In January 2000, AOL announced that it would be acquiring Time Warner through a complete stock
deal to create the largest media company in the world. Not only was the merger the biggest ever in the
media industry, it was also one of the biggest in the history of the corporate world. As per the merger
agreement, AOL and Time Warner stock was converted to AOL Time Warner stock. AOL shareholders
received one share of AOL Time Warner for each AOL share owned and Time Warner shareholders
received 1.5 shares of AOL Time Warner for each Time Warner share they owned. While AOL
shareholders owned 55% of the new company, the remaining was held by Time Warner. The merger
was soon being talked of as the beginning of a new trend: the coming together ... Show more content

AOL joined hands with Time Warner to create synergy between its online businesses and Warner s
media business.
Two significant factors affected the post merger company. One, the dot com burst meant adverse effect
on AOL s advertising revenues. And two, dial up subscribers decreased thereby affecting revenues and
overall profitability of AOL. A key element in the turnaround strategy should be to offer free content
on its portal. This strategy will benefit AOL in attracting more online users and advertising revenues.
When AOL began operations it soon became the leading company for pay online subscriber service,
bringing easy to use Internet service to more than 30 million users. AOL was mainly based on around
its dial up business. With customers shifting to broadband, AOL was losing subscribers rapidly. The
dial up segment though profitable, was declining in revenues having lost 2.6 million subscribers in a
period of one year. The share price of AOL Time Warner fell by 60% after the merger. The merger was
heavily criticized from all quarters.
Growth in advertising business came with AOL establishing itself as a support service rather than an
internet access provider. Seeing AOL s success Google entered into a global advertising partnership
with the AOL. Google acquired a 5% equity stake in AOL for US$ 1 billion. In broadband, to be able
to beat the competition they should be the first organization to

Compare And Contrast Death Camp And The Ghetto
The Ghetto And The death camp In the war of World War two, life was hard when the Germans attack
Denmark and was planning to liquidate the Ghetto. I will be comparing a poem to a story. The two
people i ll be comparing and contrast Cristiana Chiger and Pavel Friedmann. Both people tried escape
from the germans and death. Sadly the only place they could go was the sewer, but Pavel didn t make
it and was sent to death camp where he started his poem. On the other hand Cristiana made it to the
sewer and stayed there for multiple months. This all happen just because they were Jewish. There
choice was sewers or dieng. To die from your enemy or live in torture for months. Pour Cristiana had

Keep in mind that I won t just point out the simple. I am willing to dig deeper into the mine, ... or
sewer in this case and find more differences. First off we can tell that there is a different person, a
different gender person and different age. The places were different as well. A sewer and a death
camp. To be honest I would have wanted to go to the death camp even if I would have a better chance
surviving in the sewer. Cristiana story was much detailed while in the poem there s just not a lot, but
we learn how much they are being torchered. This is not much because the story features torture too.
Last in the differences is the help. While Pavel Friedmann is not in the sewer he not receiving any help
before ... well anything I guess. In the sewer Cristiana and others received help from the sewer men
who come down and up giving food for them to eat. That s the sad story and sasd poem about
Cristiana and Pavel Friedmann. I hope you think about this and feel how lucky you are. For now pray
to the gods for keeping us safe. Before you wish that you had the best life ever think about how good

The Landsat 8 OLI was retrieved from the USGA Earth Explorer and courtesy of the US Geological
Survey. The date of acquisition is March 28, 2014 and the scene is path 29 row 30 (USGS). The land
cover and land use was derived from different techniques and element of image interpretation. Many
ancillary data sources were used to understand the different areas of the image. The image is the Ha il
Province of Saudi Arabia (highlighted in red, figure 2), located in the northern section of the Arabian

Classic Cars Research Paper
Classic Cars and the R Word If you ve been around classic cars, you ve probably noticed a few that
need a little TLC, whether it s just to fix up the interior, restore the paint to its original lustre, give that
classic a tune up or remove one of the scariest words out there... rust. Rust removal and repair can be a
huge undertaking for a classic car if the rust significantly corroded the affected area. And although no
one likes rust, it doesn t have to be scary to remove. There is a slew of cost effective options for light
rust removal such as using apple cider vinegar (really!) to brake fluid for car trims, to a variety of off
the shelf products that work exceptionally well. If the job is major, you may want to leave it to the

Development Of The Residential School System

beadwork or something. I stop all the sudden and tears just start coming down
: A quote from Aggie George recalling of her experience in the Lejac Indian Residential School
(Legacy of Hope Foundation, 2001). In the 1880s all the way to the 1990 s roughly 150,000 aboriginal
children where removed from their communities and homes to attend the residential school system set
up by the government and operated by the Christian churches (Government of Canada, 2015). The
purpose of these residential schools was to isolate Aboriginal children from their families and
assimilate them into the dominant culture (First Nations Study Program, 2009). As the history of the
residential school system unfolds it becomes evident that the Canadian Government attempted to
eradicate the Aboriginals culture and lifestyle. The residential school system was a devastating crime
against Aboriginal cultures and has had lasting and debilitating effects on their populations.
The residential schools were a wide spread school system that was established by the Canadian
government and organized by the Christian churches (Government of Canada, 2015). The goal of
these schools was to educate Aboriginal children in Christianity and to adapt them into mainstream
society. The children in these schools were forced to abandon their heritage, and were separated from
their families. The aboriginal school is system was

Disadvantages Of Health Information Exchange
Health information exchange (HIE) is the electronic sharing of health information between different
healthcare organization and providers. The primary goal of HIE is to provide effective, timely, safe,
and secured healthcare information to ensure a patient is receiving the best care possible. This concept
is not new, it has been around since the early 90 s and with the advancement of computer technology,
and it is becoming the way of the future. Even with all the benefits associated with HIE, there are
however still some challenges that need to be addressed. Benefits of HIE The use of HIE helps aid
provider and healthcare facilities to provide fully coordinated patient care. For all parties involved in
HIE there can be great benefits, this includes the patients, providers, and other entities such as state,
government, and public health. Patients: Improved payment coordination Improved clinical outcomes
Improved transition of care Reduction or elimination of duplicative or unnecessary procedures or test
Providers: Reduced health care cost Improved patient safety by reducing medication and medical
errors Access to valuable clinical data Improved monitoring of patient movement and disease

Compare and Contrast the Northern and Italian Renaissance
Italian High Renaissance artists achieved ideal of harmony and balance comparable with the works of
ancient Greece or Rome. Renaissance Classicism was a form of art that removed the extraneous detail
and showed the world as it was. Forms, colors and proportions, light and shade effects, spatial
harmony, composition, perspective, anatomy all are handled with total control and a level of
accomplishment for which there are no real precedents.
Leonardo da Vinci was a Florentine artist, one of the great masters of the High Renaissance, who was
also celebrated as a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, and scientist. Leonardo fuses his subject with
the landscape behind her by means of light. He called this technique sfumato ( smokiness) ... Show

Raphael Sanzio or Raffaello was an Italian master painter and architect of the Florentine school in
High Renaissance, celebrated for the perfection and grace of his paintings. He was also called
Raffaello Sanzio, Raffaello Santi, Raffaello da Urbino or Rafael Sanzio da Urbino. He moved to
Florence at the age of 20, where he was exposed to Leonardo da Vinci, whom he never ceased to
admire as a mentor and father figure , and to Michelangelo. Raphael learned from both men, but while
he made use of their exploration of human anatomy, he added sentiment to his paintings. He was
commissioned by Julius II to paint some of the rooms at his palace at the Vatican. This marked a
turning point, and he was only twenty five years old. He remained almost exclusively in the service of
Julius and his successor Leo X. He painted a series of frescoes in the papal apartments as well as those
of the Stanza della Segnatura, which include his vast School of Athens.
Between 1520 and 1600 a growing dissatisfaction with classical techniques and styles led artists

Building Positive Relationships
Introduction In today s world, creating positive relationships can get you a long way in life. Whether
that s knowing someone that can help you get a job or getting into a good college. Breaking positive
relationships can leave you with no one by your side when you are in need for help. Relationships are
built on integrity (Ellis, 2014, p.109). So when you break a promise with your boyfriend your
relationship may be strained (Ellis, 2014, p.109). Building positive relationships are not easy for most
people. I am one of these people because I am not really a people person. I don t feel comfortable
talking to people if I don t know them that well. This is one thing I need to work on to be successful in
my future.
Information
Powerful speaking is one good way to keep agreements or relationships. Think of this exercise as each
level as one rung on a ladder (Ellis, 2014, p.109). The lowest rung on the ladder is obligation which
means we feel passive and helpless to change anything (Ellis, 2014, p.109). For example, words that
are used during this level may include I should, he out to, someone better, they need to, I must, and I
had to (Ellis, 2104, p.109). Note: When we move to the next rung, we leave behind obligation and
advance to self responsibility (Ellis, 2014, p.109). This also occurs for the rest of the rungs. The next
rung is possibility which means we examine new options at this level (Ellis, 2014, p.109). Phrases you
might hear at this level is I might, I could,

Neal Miller John Dollard Neal Miller, a well known psychologist, was an important theorist who

Psychotherapy, Miller and Dollard also researched the stimulus response reinforcement theory. While
they were researching this theory, Miller and Dollard used a laxer version of this theory to analyze the
human personality and everything that it consists of (Bower, 2011). In order to gain a better

the Way or the path, the consequences of action and inaction, virtue and the juxtaposed behavior of

An Exploration Of Budgeting And Forecasting
Summary
This paper will be an exploration of budgeting and forecasting and how they are determined and why
they need to be re evaluated at the organization I work for. Furthermore, the hope is to uncover some
of the underlining causes that are the drivers that trigger the re evaluations in our organization as well
as discover ways to mitigate those factors.
Background
Like any other business we need to lower our costs, we apparently have difficulties creating a realistic
budget, at least initially, and also have great difficulties with accurately forecasting. Are budgeting
problems for new products could be due to the fact that prospective costs on new parts take a while to
get properly entered into the system, combine that fact with a 12 month projection, times the number
of parts missing cost information from our budget document and there will be quite a difference in
actual costs at the end. By using a bill of materials for as a guide for new products, items with over $5
per item actually cost difference can be off by as much as 80% overall.
We are not any better at forecasting or predicting are sales revenue. It is not as conservative as it
should be, we may be taking only the optimistic view or we do not have a good understanding of our
place it the market. I m not sure what s driving it. However, I do not know that we buy inventory,
ramp up staffing, add plants, and equipment solely based on these projections, so we need to do this
much better. Also, by using a bill of

Abstract This paper proposes direct torque control of induction motor simulation using conventional
method and space vector pulse width modulation technique for ripple reduction. Direct Torque Control
is a control technique used in AC drive systems to obtain high performance torque control and thereby
controlling the speed of induction motor. The principle is based on simultaneous decoupling of stator
flux and electromagnetic torque of AC drive system. DTC drives use hysteresis comparators and they
suffer from high torque ripple and variable switching frequency problem. The proposed SVM based
DTC reduces torque ripples. The basis of the SVM DTC methodology is the calculation of the
required voltage space vector to compensate the flux and torque errors and its generation using the
SVM at each sample period. The performance of this method is demonstrated by simulation using
MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results presented in this paper show the torque, flux linkage
and stator current ripple decreases with the proposed SVM DTC algorithm. Keywords: Direct Torque

One Is Truth By Emerson Rhetorical Analysis
Emerson s essay on friendship is one of the most remembered and highly respected essays dating back
to the 19th century. The information given in the essay is extremely valuable and has helped to explain
the universal truth that is friendship. Emerson s essay on friendship is his way of delineating the paths
of coherence. These parts fall into two distinct kinds. The first is the consistent enunciation of a view
which is the master tone that Emerson uses from essay to essay while the second is the internal linking
of the views in the essay. Some scholars have argued that Emerson s views on friendship are strange
and radical while others feel that his logic is sound and valid. This argument can only be found by

No doubt Emerson gives friendship at a high value. However, He gives the true definition of
friendship, At the entrance of a second person, hypocrisy begins. We parry and fend the approach of
our fellow man by compliments, by gossip, by amusements, by affairs. We cover up our thought from
him under a hundred folds. In addition, Emerson uses sound understanding and logic to present his
view of friendship. In one way that he does this is by his statement, emotions of benevolence and
complacency which apperceived towards others. Emerson s words show the remarks either abstract or
generalized, in regards to friendship. This is noticed when Emerson s words move away from the
abstract and generalized remarks on his experience with friendship. However, A person seeks the
company of a stranger when they believe that the stranger will give or inspire something that we
currently lack, Emerson stated
Though from the essay, it turns out that Emerson does not have much to say about friendship, he states
that the stranger who Emerson refers to as a friend awakens a desire for throbbing of the heart and the
communications of the soul. Furthermore, Emerson goes on to say that despite of this, sometimes
friends disappoint others in relationships. He also states that friendship brings about doubt which is

How Language Changes Start and Spread Essay
Language change happens every day. New words are constantly being added and new dialects are
forming. People have always argued about the causes of language change and tried to control the
changes that occurred but ultimately they accomplished nothing. Languages changes and spread as a
result of the people who use it daily. African American English and California English are both
examples of the different ways language can change. People try to resist the changes in their language
because they do not want to see it change. Language change is a natural process that can be affected
by others but never stopped. This course has done an excellent job explaining how language change

As different dialects of a language develop they are shared with the people of the area. People often
use the dialect of those that they interact with most. To explain this simply, a person who only speaks
Chicano English is fine in their daily interactions with other speakers of the dialect but they may have
trouble speaking with a Northern Dialect. The spread of language change depends on the factors that
are causing it. The natural change in language over time smarts in a small area and spreads to
everyone that it comes in contact with.
This course focused on a numerous languages that were undergoing change. The simplest and most
relevant for many Americans are the changes that are occurring in English. America is a great melting
pot of different people and as such English s multiple dialects reflect cultural diversity. One of the
most studied and still not understood dialects is African American English. The point of contention
between the ideas for the origin of African American English is whether it was based on an existing
dialect in the south or if it was creole of English and different West African languages. Either way this
is an example of a rapid language change that has persisted over time. It is illogical to believe that the
slaves who were forced to learn English did not incorporate some of their own language. How else
could they have communicated before they fully understood English. An example of slower language

Charles Darwin s Survival Of The Sickest By Dr. Sharon...
Throughout modern day society, many diseases that humans would consider harmful and just simply
and outright, fatal, were actually beneficial to our ancestors, centuries ago. Granted, there are
definitely many diseases today that are killing millions of people, but these same diseases that exist
have done the opposite for our ancestors. Many of these diseases such as diabetes, and
hemochromatosis that we consider deadly provide us a follow up question: Why was this disease
selected into our gene pool? And this question will date us back to centuries ago when our ancestors
had actually benefited from such diseases as a crucial way to survive. The father of evolution, Charles

Essentially, iron is what allows almost every form of life to metabolize and function. In fact, our
bodies body has several mechanisms that prevent access to iron to pathogens and other infectious
bacteria thrive on iron that may harm our bodies known as the acute phase response. The author
describes this as he states the bloodstream is flooded with illness fighting proteins, and, at the same
time, iron is locked away to prevent biological invaders from using it against us (7). So us readers can
take away the idea that iron is crucial for our bodies. So how could potentially accumulating too much
iron affect our health? That s when hemochromatosis comes along. Our bodies assumes that the
person is lacking iron in their system so they continually absorb the iron in the intestine. Not only that,
don t forget that bacteria and diseases also rely on iron to grow and accumulate. This can cause cancer
cells to grow and spread continuously without stopping if it consumes our iron. Some of the symptoms
of hemochromatosis are shown as the author observes from Aran Gordon, a natural long distance

seemed to skip a funny beat. He told his running partner he wasn t sure he could go on with training,
with running at all (1). He was eventually diagnosed through

man, showing that she needs a man to feel complete. Like the Lady in Blue, the other women change
and run away from their adversities instead of becoming stronger and more independent from them.
These women have no strong, identifying characteristics. Rather they feel insignificant and
overlooked unless they come together to cause something major to happen.
Instead of acting in ways to better themselves, these women look for ways to harm or help men,
making them reactors rather than actors. For example, the Lady in Red uses a seductive appearance to
sleep with random men and rejects them the following morning in order to

Family Culture In Powder By Tobias Wolff
Culture is a product of the human mind and it is defined through language. The language and culture
related because language shows an expression of the culture. Therefore, when we learn language, we
also need to learn about the culture of it. This paper aims to discuss a cultural point like family life and
relationship in the story Powder by Tobias Wolff and compare it with the one similar to that of our
culture.
We know that not all of the children can have a good family, live with their parents, smile and laugh
together. Every family has their own problems and sometimes the children have to live separate with
their father or their mother. However, it is not a bad life if there is still a relationship among the
member of a family like in the story Powder by Tobias Wolff which tells about the relationship
between father and son with broken home situations. This story has some cultural points of family life
and relationship that will be explained including young adulthood, family roles, promptness, future
time.
The first cultural point is young adulthood. In this story, we know that the father try to pass the road
with full of snow around although there is a barricade which blocking the road. He also ask his son to
move the barricade, so they can go. However, the father says to his son to never try ... Show more

That situation obviously become a custom and also will influence their future life. What the father did
does not indicate that he teachs a bad thing, but he want his son learn and take a lesson from
something that happened in his life. Comparing with our culture, this point is not different with
Indonesian family. Children in Indonesia is asked to be open minded and have a wide knowledge, but
still the parents control and monitor the children activities. Sometimes, young adulthoods depend on

Reinforcement Assessment Paper
Although this project included a variety of assessment methods, there were some potential limitations.
First, there were no ongoing preference assessments before conducting the reinforcement assessment
in different days. Kennedy and Haring (1993) indicated that individuals with profound intellectual
disabilities could change not over time, even within the course of one day. In addition, these
individuals also demonstrated habituations and novelty effects which may influence the validity of
further reinforcing testing or assessments (Logan et al., 2001). Therefore, it is important to reassess
participant s preferences frequently to ensure the experimenter is always using the preferred items.
However, it is relatively time consuming to conduct ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third, the reinforcement assessment results showed that the participant might have a difficulty on
understanding the task. Additional research can be done to include a thinning schedule in the
reinforcement assessment. Specifically, experimenter can conduct a rich reinforcement schedule (such
as FI 10s) at the beginning of the assessment and then gradually increase participant s engagement
time to get a reinforcer by using FI 20s, FI 30s and FI 40s schedules. This method may help
participant to have more exposure on the tasks and reinforcers and understand the contingency at the
beginning of the sessions. Fourth, the quality of the observational data should be taken into
consideration as some of the interobserver agreement data in this project were low (below 85%).
Cooper, Heron and Heward (2014) indicated that experimenters and clinicians should always choose
the valid assessment of IOA to ensure the reliability of the observation data and their interpretations

When informed consent has taken place correctly the information that which is given must be clearly

the patient must also not be pressured to make their own decisions, as the informed consent assumes
that when the patient is making these decisions they are not pressured to do so ( American Cancer

Gcse Fifth Song Instruments
The very first music piece started off slow but then flutes and chimes came in and took the song to a
different level. It then later on has the same type of beat which helps it continue to flow. I really like
the flute solo that was played around the middle of the song. In the next song it starts out as if it is a
church choir. The song sounds serious and probably takes part of some ritual or ceremony. The third
song sounds very inviting and calm. This song also is song by a choir or a group of people.
Throughout the video the church is present so in that case this means that this song had an importance
inside the church. The beginning of the fourth song is different by how the drums are the first things

Hallelujah chorus song which is the sixth example is a song that is still played and heard around
churches and the world. This song instantly begins with singing Hallelujah which brings the listeners
attention in the first few seconds of the song. The seventh example begins with opera type singing that
is meant to be sad and gloomy but precious and elegant all at the same time. This song is shown to pay
tribute to an occasion with beautiful singing. The eight example is played with a piano and it all
begins with a loud and big entrance. This song shows and hits many different ques and notes as the
song continues to go on. In a few instances you can see the musician play the instrument and you can
see how many different notes he hits. The next example is shown to be played by many violins and

Enzyme Concentration
This experiment was carried out with many precautions to minimise error margins. These measures
included putting the measuring cylinders in the water bath/ ice box/ and bench top at the same time,
using the same capsicum extract, having the same person record the results and add the capsicum
extract. However there were still some results that exhibited error such as collecting the measuring
cylinders at different times which prolonged the exposure, as well as have a delay between starting the
timer and adding the capsicum extract. Other issues consist of having an uneven layer of foam (O2)
which was a random error that made it difficult to record mL, and forgetting to record the temperature
of the H2O2.
Ideally there should have been a gap between exposing each measuring cylinder to the change in
temperature, so once one temperature was recorded the next one was ready rather than them
overlapping. Another improvement in the experiment would be to assign the task of timing to one
person and adding the extract to another person to diminish the gap between completing each of the
tasks*. In addition, testing more temperature points or repeating the experiment would allow for a
wider range of results and a higher accuracy reading of the ideal conditions for enzyme reactivity. ...

grasping measuring cylinders away from the surface of the hot water and placing it in a stand on a

Throughout Our Lives, We Are Taught To Be Submissive To
Throughout our lives, we are taught to be submissive to those in authority. Whether it be with our
parents, professors, or the god we choose to serve, people have been taught to obey and respect those
above them. From the beginning of time, these principles have been understood and practiced. We see
such submission in stories like Mirabai, as well as in the Qu ran. The full surrender of human flesh to
their own god is shown in both of these illustrations. In the lyric poems of Mirabai, she demonstrates
her full submission through praises and obedience to her god, Krishna. Though in the Qu ran, it
teaches the people how to become completely submissive to their Islamic god, Allah. Nevertheless,
both stories demonstrate what it means to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Allah, the Islamic god, constantly wants his people to be in search of him and to find ways to grow
their relationship; Mirabai does these acts as shown in her lyric poems. In [Darling come visit me], she
is distressed and distraught wandering for Krishna day and night, our separation gnawing at my heart.
Mirabai illustrates what Allah wants from his people in the Qu ran. He desires for his people to
worship and praise him like Krishna receives from Mirabai. Allah wants his people to be infatuated
with him and his works. He wants to be sought after and longed for all day every day just like every
god wants from their people. However, Allah is a just god and reminds his people of that through
several verses. In the Qu ran, it shows Allah as a fearful and fair god when his people are not
completely submissive. However, in Mirabai, we receive no evidence of Krishna being this way. The
first instance within the Qu ran is in the story of Cain and Abel when one of the brothers says, I fear
God, the Lord of all worlds, after the other has threatened to kill him, his own flesh and blood. The
brother would rather be killed than raise his hand to defend and hurt his brother and go against his god
s will. The next example of this is when Allah tells the rabbis and scholars not to fear the disbelievers
but fear him instead. Allah wants to be feared

within DRAM memory business, the threat of new entrant is high compared to the threat of substitutes
and established rivals in horizontal competition. If we look at rivalry within the DRAM industry
between established players, Samsung has a clear advantage over its competitors. Samsung is the
market leader in DRAM memory business. It has a wide range of products and its products has a
higher brand value. Threat of new entrants is high as Chinese competitors have easier access to large
pool of local engineering talent and have a growing market for these DRAM chips. The government is
also providing all sorts of assistance, like subsidized land, for the initial setup. Samsung has several
options to deter the entry of new Chinese competitors. One option Samsung have is to continue to

What Role Does The Chorus Play In Medea
Discuss the importance of the role that the Chorus plays in Euripedes Medea.
br
br The Chorus is very much an important part of Euripedes Medea, and indeed many other works
written in the ancient Greek style. In this play, it follows the journey Medea makes, and not only
narrates, but commentates on what is happening. Euripedes uses the Chorus as a literary device to
raise certain issues, and to influence where the sympathies of the audience lie.
br
br In the list of characters at the beginning of the play, the Chorus is stated to be a chorus of
Corinthian Women. This draws the first link between them and Medea. The Chorus follows Medea on
her journey through this play. They act as narrators on important occurrences in the play; ... Show

When Medea married Jason, she married herself to him for life. She was expected to be totally
obedient and to accept whatever her husband willed. For her to look upon another man other than her
husband would have been totally unacceptable. Whereas Jason marries another woman while he is still
married, and then it is Medea who is banished from Corinth. However, the audience s response to this
type of situation would most likely have been different in Euripedes time, to today. Obviously one can
t know this for sure, but one can deduce it from what we know of that era. Although some wouldn t
have condoned Jason s actions, many would have seen it as normal because it would have been a
much more common occurrence then than today. Nonetheless, in presenting these sort of issues in a
moralistic play to the audience of the day was a brave and controversial thing to do. Obviously, the
views on the these issues have come along way since the time when this play was written, so today s
audience adapts the messages in this play to their own morality. The treatment of women, and of
Medea, and the circumstances that Medea is faced with, help the audience to, not condone, but
understand the reasons for Medea s actions at the end of the play.
br
br The opinion of the audience on characters other than Medea is also influenced by the Chorus. After
the audience hears what Jason has done to Medea in the way of marrying another

An Excerpt Of Ovid s Metamorphose
This piece was inspired by an excerpt of Ovid s Metamorphoses in book number six which describes
the slaughter of Niobe s seven sons and seven daughters. Niobe was the queen of Thebes, married to
King Amphion. She lived an extreme life of luxury and often bragged about how great her life was.
One day the goddess Leto, also know was Latona, heard Niobe boasting about how much better her
life was. Niobe could not stop comparing her extreme fertility, hence her 14 children, to Leto mere
two offspring. Niobe told the people of Thebes they should be worshiping her instead of Leto. In
response, Leto s two offspring, Apollo, the god of music, and Artemis, also known as Diana, the
goddess of the hunt, came to Thebes and murdered Niobe s children with

Native Americans Vs. The Native English-Speaking People
The difference in the two languages seem to reflect basically different ways of identifying or

interpretation is partly supported by the order of information listed in one s CV or resume in English

Think of a small or large innocent animal, dying a painful death, all because we humans want to

they are being treated is. Many animals of different species sit in cages of research facilities, instead of
being out in the wild where they belong. They are forced to endure multiple tests every day. These
tests are harmful, sometimes even deadly. The only thing slightly protecting them is the Animal

Marriage In Pride And Prejudice Essay
Introduction Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice wasn t alike any other Romantic or Gothic novels
written at the time, it was the first novel to porttrait real characters and everyday life. Jane doesn t
display much evidence of the Romantic movement in her works and she is the only author that seems
to be untouched by the political, intellectial and artistic revolutions of her time. As Rebecca West
stated Austen s novels contain no mention of the Napoleonic wars because she had nothing to say

Bennet and her relations have already acquired a higher social status by the marriage with Mr. Bennet
and this status is only to become higher with the marriages of Elizabeth and Jane. Elizabeth, who is a
daughter of an aristocratic gentleman and mother from the middle class, at the end marries to one of
the wealthiest aristocrats in England. Elizabeth s marriage to Mr. Darcy is one of the greatest match in
Austen s novels. Until the very end of the story it is nearly impossible for Eliza to think of marrying
Darcy because of the great social distance between their families. It is equally difficult for Darcy to
think of marrying her. When Darcy proposes to Elizabeth, he says that the reason why he hardly
admitted his feelings towards her was the distinction between the classes they belonged to. There are
different views on the extent of social difference between them. In Lady Catherine s eyes Elizabeth is
a nobody, with upstart pretensions , a woman shrewdly on the make, who will pollute the shades of
Pemberley . Elizabeth herself, however, is not overwhelmed by the social difference. He is a
gentleman; I am a gentleman s daughter; so far we are equal , she claims calmly. (Coperland et al.
1997). She demonstrates that marriage should be a choice made for love by allowing Elizabeth to
remain in the power of choice even in spite of social pressures. Austen shows the good effects of a
marriage based on love and the positive effects, which can come from it.
As mentioned above, Lady Catherine represented the dying aristocratic class. That she has lost much
of her social authority can be seen in the scene where Lady Catherine visits Elizabeth to speak about
the relationship between her and her nephew Mr. Darcy. A few decades earlier she would have
summoned Elizabeth to Rosings Park where she

The Film Hamlet By William Shakespeare
The film Hamlet by William Shakespeare was made by two directors in two different versions which
one was Kenneth Branagh and the other Franco Zeffirelli. By watching the four scenes of the play of
the two versions, the viewer has come up to the conclusion that Kenneth Branagh s version best
captures the essence of the play in terms of costume design, acting, directing, and cinematography.
The directing and cinematography in Act IV, Scene V the Ophelia Madness Scene as well as the
acting, costume design in Act V, Scene II the Final Scene showed that Branagh s version of the film
Hamlet is the most effective.
Branagh s use of directing in Act IV, Scene V in the Ophelia Madness Scene helped best to present the
scene in a most effective way. Ophelia has gone mad due to her father s loss, people have been
suspicious and disturbed by the death as well. Laertes who is Ophelia s sister has come back from
France with a mob of commoners who they call Laertes lord and people say that Laertes shall become
king. He enters the hall with an eager ready to avenge his father s death, Claudius the king tries to
calm him down by acknowledging that Polonius is dead. The director in Branagh s version provided a
padded cell for Ophelia where it shows that she really has gone insane and when she entered the hall,
began singing about chaos, death, and unsatisfied love. The clothes she was wrapped in demonstrates
an excellent illustration of her madness because when the

Understanding The Historical-Cultural Context Paper
1. What can happen when people approach the Bible without any concern for the historical cultural
context? We misinterpret what God is trying to say. We need to understand what the audience was
going through in the time that God was speaking to them. We need to understand the situation so that
it can impact us the way that God intended it to impact the audience he was speaking to. One
awesome example that the author points out is the parable of the Good Samaritan. When Jesus starts
that A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho by looking at different resources to get the
historical context we can find elevation, the route, the weather patterns, and most importantly the
terrain. We would find out that Jerusalem is 2500 feet above sea level and Jericho is about 800 feet
below sea level. The route is 20 miles and the terrain is very rugged. (Duvall, 2008, p. 53) So we can

may have become ritually unclean. The Samaritan stopped and helped them man dying on the side of

who were guilty of false worship. So stopping and showing compassion when the others did not would

Survival At The Cost Of Mortality In Literature
The theme of survival at the cost of morality is evident in an abundant amount of literature seen today.
This type of literature is studied everywhere from school classrooms to reading on an individual s free
time. Morality relates to what behavior is considered right or wrong based on an individual s ethics.
Sometimes a person may do things that they did not originally intend to do, but they feel as if they
have to behave this way to get what they want, or even survive. The characters discussed in this
English course that have displayed the quality of survival at the cost of mortality is Pi, Claudius, and

Hamlet is one of the most prominent characters discussed in the duration of the class because he is a
very diverse character. The first time Hamlet appears in the play Hamlet is when is hurt by his mother
s remarriage to Claudius: ...Why she, even she / O God, a beast that wants discourse of reason/ Would
have mourned longer! married with my/ uncle,/ My father s brother... (I, ii, 153 157). In this quotation,
Hamlet compares Gertrude to an animal, saying that an animal would mourn longer for its mate. By
saying this, it further proves the emotional damage that this marriage brought upon him. However,
anyone would be upset if their mother ended up marrying their deceased husband s brother, especially
when the brother is the one that killed her husband. Although this is not known by the reader or
Hamlet yet because it is reveal shortly after. When Hamlet speaks to the ghost of his father and
discovered that his father was not bitten by a snake and was actually murdered by Claudius, he has a

Do You Want To Achieve Your Goals

Do you want to Achieve Your Goals?
Creating your mindset to succeed
Everyone in this world has its own goal. Whether to win that football game on Saturday night, claim

Creating your mindset to succeed is the very first step when achieving your goal. This is where it will
all start. This is the part where you can create your plans and how you can make it happen. This is
where you will think of strategies on how you can overcome the challenges that may keep you from
achieving your goals. This is going to be the blueprint of your goal.
You would always hear people saying It s only in the mind . Yes it is. Most of the time, successful

Complications Of Social Disorganization
Criminal justice professionals utilize social disorganization to predict future trends in criminal
behavior. Many factors influence and control social disorganization; this paper will explain exactly
what social disorganization is, as well as its relationship or connection to organized crime and criminal
behavior. Today s corrupt political groups can have a direct and immediate effect on social
disorganization, as well as organized criminal activity ( Social Disorganization and Rural
Communities , 2003).
What is Social Disorganization? According to Bursik, (1988), the definition of social disorganization
is an inability of community members to achieve shared values or to solve jointly experienced
problems . Both theoretical and empirical research has focused on urban settings when studying
influencers on crime and delinquencies. Current versions of social disorganization theory assume that
strong social relationships will prevent crime and delinquency ( Social Disorganization and Rural
Communities , 2003). Crime can become more prevalent spawned from neighborhoods with close
living conditions such as apartment complexes or duplexes. Crime rates can also be higher in areas
that have a breakdown in the family unit. An example of family unit breakdown could be a single
parent family and divorce. Children that have a lack of social control, order, and often turn to criminal
activity many times come from these affected neighborhoods ( Crime Social

Alcohol is defined by Wester Dictionary as a drink (as whiskey or beer) containing ethanol.
Alcoholism is defined by the medical dictionary as a chronic progressive potentially fatal
psychological and nutritional disorder associated with excessive and usually compulsive drinking of
ethanol and characterized by frequent intoxication leading to dependence on or addiction to the
substance, impairment of the ability to work and socialize, destructive behaviors (as drunken driving),
tissue damage (as cirrhosis of the liver), and severe withdrawal symptoms upon detoxification.
Drinking alcohol has been around since man was able to crush grapes. As the United States (U.S.) we

A brief history about both the countries and drinking habits:
Several Native American civilizations developed alcoholic beverages in pre Columbian times. A
variety of fermented beverages from the Andes region of South America were created from corn,
grapes or apples, called chichi, written in an article by Drug Free World organization (A Drug Free
World, P.1). From the beginning of America there has always been alcohol/alcoholism. Drinking also
has shaped the land in the 1700s and 1800s. Most areas of social life was at the gin mill or tavern.
Experts say that the Revolution from England beginnings started in a tavern. Then The nineteenth
century brought a change in attitudes and the temperance movement began promoting the moderate
use of alcohol which ultimately became a push for total prohibition, said Drug Free World (A Drug
Free World, P.1). Today alcohol is widely accepted as well as demonized at the same time for those
who drink it before the legal age.
The U.K. has a vast history of drinking from Medieval times to the present. Most notably were these
events... By the end of the middle ages, most European nations had developed their own distinctive
brewing and distilling styles. Throughout this period up until the 17th century, alcohol was still widely
praised, especially by the Church, which was at that time the arbiter of morality. said A Drug Free

Significant Economic Changes In The United States
In the past 10 years, there have been numerous economic changes in the united states. Between
inflation, unemployment, the GDP and changes in government leadership, how money is spent and
saved regularly changed throughout the decade. These economic habits can be different based on age,
race, gender, location, education levels, and spending habits reflect each of these variables. Today i
will explore these variables, how things have recently changed based on then, and how i believe things
will change in the near future.
There isn t a pattern in the last 10 years for inflation changing. Inflation currently for October is 2.0, in
October of last year it was 1.6 so it raised quite a bit in the last year. But in October 2007 inflation was

The labor force participation rate ages 16 years and over in January 2010 was at 64.8 and in January
2017 it was at 62.9 so it dropped a little since 2010. I think that it s just going to get lower and lower
in the future because that s the progress it has been in the last 10 years.
GDP now is in the US is 3.3%, GDP has lowered in the last 10 years. In 2007 the GDP in the US was
4.40%. There isn t a pattern for how much it changed in 10 years it kind of went up and down since
2007. In the future I think that GDP will raise more and more.
I am going to tell you how Hawaii is doing economically. Hawaii s inflation rate has doubled to 2% in
2016. For unemployment in Hawaii, its relatively low. Since the recession in 2009 Hawaii has been 2
to 3% lower than the national rate. In 2011 70% men 16 years or older were in the labor force and
60% of women 16 years or older were in the labor force. The GDP in hawaii in 2016 was $84.7 billion
and ranked 38th in the united states. In 2006 the GDP in Hawaii was $62.1 billion and still was ranked
38th in the united states. I think that the GDP in Hawaii is going to get higher because it has gotten
higher in the last ten years and It should continue to get higher. Hawaii also has the highest rate of
poverty in the

The Stages Of Bereavement
Introduction
Understanding that the stages of bereavement varies from person to person is important, so one does
not feel they are grieving inappropriately. It is also important to have a general idea of what one can
expect when experiencing a loss. It seems that often people think that everyone should only grieve for
certain amount of times, or something is wrong with them, when in fact, no matter the length of time,
or degree, it is normal. In 1969, Elisabeth Kubler Ross created the stage perspective, which discusses
the five stages of bereavement and what each stage could entail. This is so important in understanding
the process of bereavement and the reason people act the way they do when losing a loved one.

Despite the slight difference between the two words, bereavement and grief go together, and in this
paper, those terms will be interchanged. There are five stage of grief that I intend to discuss in detail.
Kubler Ross stage perspective held that dying people go through five stages of grieving: denial, anger,
bargaining, depression, and finally, acceptance. (Stroebe, 2017, p. 457). Denial is not believing that it
is happening. Anger could be at one s self, a higher power, or just the situation in general. Bargaining
is when one says if their situation goes away, they will change themselves. For example, one might
say if their illness is cured, they will never drink alcohol

Antigone Resistance To Authority Analysis
In our society today, selfishness is common, yet frowned upon because of the bad reputation it has.
Being selfish is the act of being solely concerned about yourself. Caring about yourself is part of your
growth as a person; sometimes you need time to just focus on your own being. Rebellion, often times
categorized as a type of selfishness, is also part of our human growth. In the greek tragedy Antigone
by Sophocles, and the article Resistance To Authority By Michael Schreiner, the authors both illustrate
the idea of selfishness being acceptable to certain extents. Through these sources, we can understand
that selfishness can be justified as doing what you feel is right and can be acceptable as a human
characteristic, as long as it doesn t go far enough to harm others. ... Show more content on

Although Antigone was selfish by going against Creon s rules and burying her forbidden brother, she
believed that if she didn t it was going against spiritual rule; in her head it was the right thing to do:
Antigone: Be what seems right of you ; Him I will bury.
Selfish or not, if Antigone didn t bury her brother she would have gone against spiritual rule.
Selfishness is a necessity in personal growth and spiritual gain. Sometimes you have to give up certain
things to follow what you believe in, this is a positive type of caring about only yourself.
Antigone: ... If This is approved in Heaven, why let me suffer, And own that I have sinned...
It isn t wrong to be selfish because of your spiritual beliefs; everyone believes in something and
should not be punished for it. Sophocles also examined the idea of selfishness through Creon. Creon s
selfishness wasn t always justified though. His selfishness rooted from the rage inside him. Haemon:
Die as she may, she shall not die alone. Creon: Art thou grown bold enough to threaten,

Brochure To Help Rape Victimes Find a Healthy Approach to...
Chapter one
Purpose
The purpose of this project is to introduce a brochure, based on current evidence, that can help rape
victims find a healthy approach to recovery. It is important to provide victims with support, contact
numbers, counselors and self help strategies in case they do not follow up with a medical professional.
If victims refuse to talk it is important to teach them about therapeutic poetry and journaling which are
optimal ways of expressing emotions. Holding in feelings over time can lead to self directed violence,
nightmares, trust issues, and changes in relationships. Victims are at risk for re victimization by
society and the justice system. A brochure could provide reading material that can enable victims to

Setting of the problem
A western New York five hundred bed hospital in an urban community sees victims of abuse both in
the emergency room and the women s health center. Nurses are confronted with young female victims
of various ages, class, culture, and race, who are in abusive relationships or have been assaulted. The
vast majority of these victims female, and college aged. Addressing the issue of rape is sometime
difficult and uncomfortable for both the victim and caregiver. The dialogue, voice tone and body
language and advice that nurses articulate to victims can have a lifetime affect. It is important to
establish a trusting relationship with victims, to allow for open communication when addressing the
sensitive issue of sexual assault. Rape leaves emotional scars that do not heal as quickly as physical
wounds. The nurses best equipped to handle victims like this are forensic nurses. The problem stems
from underage drinking, loss of control and the ability to say no against a deaf perpetrator. The
disgusting act of perversion weighs heavy on the minds of the victims, family and friends. It is
unfortunate that the innocent victims feel the guilt, shame and stigma. Nurses must advocate for
female empowerment, self worth and respect by securing their rights, health and wellbeing after a
rape. Rape victims are not always followed up with after leaving the hospital, the unresolved
emotional end of trauma can lead to long term affects

Corruption Of Youth In Plato s Apology
Today s society is completely controlled by technology, the news, and social media. So much of what
people learn is from the news. It is so easy for someone to go on their computer in the morning, pull
up CNN, and read about what is going on in the world. The only problem with this is that CNN can
put whatever they desire on their website and portray to their readers their bias. The most
impressionable of these people is the youth of the world. Younger children are the most
impressionable people on the planet, and with social media they are being exposed to the opinions of
the world at such a young age. Social media makes information available at the touch of your
fingertips. All it takes is logging on to a computer and searching whatever you want to read about.
Also, celebrities act ridiculously and become a bad influence on young kids who looked up to them. In
Plato s Apology an example of the corruption of youth it discussed. Socrates corrupts the youth by
telling them his unorthodox ideas that differ from the rest of the society, and in response the other
members of the society claim that Socrates is poisoning the minds of the youth. The corruption of
youth in Plato s Apology is drastically different than how the youth are corrupted today, and through
social media, the news, and how celebrities act the youth of today become more corrupted.
In Plato s Apology, Socrates is on trial by Meletus about offenses that he has committed against the
state. Socrates is accused of

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO).
Under this system, patient must choose a Primary Care Physician (PCP) from a network of local
healthcare providers who will refer the patient to in network specialists or hospitals when necessary.
Primary care physician coordinates all care. For example, if the patient has cancer, patient first sees
the PCP who will decide where and how to refer him to an in network provider.
In other words, the health insurer contracts with a network of doctors, hospitals and other types of
providers and patients must visit a provider within the HMO network. Co payments are required for

With a HMO plan, the payments for patients are generally very low. For physicians, there is a fixed

The Purpose Of Property And Casualty Insurance
Purpose of Property and Casualty Insurance
Our Red River Wealth Management firm wants to not only help protect your money but your tangible
assets and home as well. Property insurance helps lessen the burden of replacing these assets if they
were to be damaged or destroyed. Below are our recommendations for property and casualty insurance
in regards to your cars, home, jewelry, health, and disability.
Recommendations for Homeowners Insurance
Your current homeowner s insurance policy is below the adequate coverage. You are currently paying
$1,500 annually and receiving minimum coverage on a named peril basis. We recommend upgrading
your current coverage to an HO5 policy that includes all structures and belongings on an all peril
basis. An all peril basis means that you are covered for a larger number of risk exposures, where your
current policy only covers a certain number leaving you exposed to larger loss. This policy will be
around $5,200 annually on your current home and $5,900 for your future home. These policies have a
lower deductible of 1% ($3,500 on current home and $4,000 on future home), $200,000 in coverage,
and the umbrella minimum coverage. See the appendix for an in depth calculation of coverage for
your current and future home.
Recommendations for Liability Insurance
We recommend purchasing an umbrella policy worth $1,000,000. An umbrella or liability policy will
protect your assets from being taken in case of a lawsuit. A policy of this amount

Describe The Process Of Doing Squats
The process of doing squats involves a process of using muscles in bottom half of the torso. There are
primary muscles in doing squats which are the gluteus maximus, quadriceps, and hamstrings. The
gluteus maximus is the largest muscle in the body and covers each buttock. The origin of this muscle
is the sacrum, coccyx, and ilium. The insertion is the posterior surface of femur and fascia of the thigh
which helps to extend the thigh at the hip. The gluteus maximus helps to straighten the limb at the hip
when a person walks, runs, climbs, or squats. In the quadriceps femoris group there are four muscles
called the rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and vastus intermedius. The rectus femoris
muscle occupies the middle of the thigh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ischial tuberosity and linea aspera of femur, while the insertion is the head of fibula and lateral
condyle of tibia. This muscle flexes and rotates the leg laterally and extends the thigh. The
semitendinosus is another muscle in the hamstring, it s a long, bandlike muscle on the back and medial

  • 3. Aol Time Warner- What Went Wrong In January 2000, AOL announced that it would be acquiring Time Warner through a complete stock deal to create the largest media company in the world. Not only was the merger the biggest ever in the media industry, it was also one of the biggest in the history of the corporate world. As per the merger agreement, AOL and Time Warner stock was converted to AOL Time Warner stock. AOL shareholders received one share of AOL Time Warner for each AOL share owned and Time Warner shareholders received 1.5 shares of AOL Time Warner for each Time Warner share they owned. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... AOL joined hands with Time Warner to create synergy between its online businesses and Warner s media business. Two significant factors affected the post merger company. One, the dot com burst meant adverse effect on AOL s advertising revenues. And two, dial up subscribers decreased thereby affecting revenues and overall profitability of AOL. A key element in the turnaround strategy should be to offer free content on its portal. This strategy will benefit AOL in attracting more online users and advertising revenues. When AOL began operations it soon became the leading company for pay online subscriber service, bringing easy to use Internet service to more than 30 million users. AOL was mainly based on around its dial up business. With customers shifting to broadband, AOL was losing subscribers rapidly. The dial up segment though profitable, was declining in revenues having lost 2.6 million subscribers in a period of one year. The share price of AOL Time Warner fell by 60% after the merger. The merger was heavily criticized from all quarters. Growth in advertising business came with AOL establishing itself as a support service rather than an internet access provider. Seeing AOL s success Google entered into a global advertising partnership with the AOL. Google acquired a 5% equity stake in AOL for US$ 1 billion. To be honest I would have wanted to go to the death camp even if I would have a better chance surviving in the sewer. Cristiana story was much detailed while in the poem there s just not a lot, but we learn how much they are being torchered. This is not much because the story features torture too. Last in the differences is the help. While Pavel Friedmann is not in the sewer he not receiving any help before ... well anything I guess. In the sewer Cristiana and others received help from the sewer men who come down and up giving food for them to eat. That s the sad story and sasd poem about Cristiana and Pavel Friedmann. • 11. Building Positive Relationships Introduction In today s world, creating positive relationships can get you a long way in life. Whether that s knowing someone that can help you get a job or getting into a good college. Breaking positive relationships can leave you with no one by your side when you are in need for help. Relationships are built on integrity (Ellis, 2014, p.109). So when you break a promise with your boyfriend your relationship may be strained (Ellis, 2014, p.109). Building positive relationships are not easy for most people. I am one of these people because I am not really a people person. I don t feel comfortable talking to people if I don t know them that well. This is one thing I need to work on to be successful in my future. Information Powerful speaking is one good way to keep agreements or relationships. Think of this exercise as each level as one rung on a ladder (Ellis, 2014, p.109). The lowest rung on the ladder is obligation which means we feel passive and helpless to change anything (Ellis, 2014, p.109). For example, words that are used during this level may include I should, he out to, someone better, they need to, I must, and I had to (Ellis, 2104, p.109). Note: When we move to the next rung, we leave behind obligation and advance to self responsibility (Ellis, 2014, p.109). This also occurs for the rest of the rungs. The next rung is possibility which means we examine new options at this level (Ellis, 2014, p.109). Phrases you might hear at this level is I might, I could, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Associate Professor of Psychological Science Neal Miller John Dollard Neal Miller, a well known psychologist, was an important theorist who dedicated a lot of time and effort into studying the work of Sigmund Freud and Clark Hull. Miller became interested in Clark Hull s work on his study of classical conditioning (Coon, 2010). While at Yale University, Miller joined John Dollard and several other individuals to write the book Frustration and Aggression (Coon, 2010). As well as those four factors, Dollard and Miller discussed their version of Hull s drive reduction hypothesis as drive reduction theory of reward (Coon, 2010). In their book, Personality and Psychotherapy, Miller and Dollard also researched the stimulus response reinforcement theory. While they were researching this theory, Miller and Dollard used a laxer version of this theory to analyze the human personality and everything that it consists of (Bower, 2011). • 14. An Exploration Of Budgeting And Forecasting Summary This paper will be an exploration of budgeting and forecasting and how they are determined and why they need to be re evaluated at the organization I work for. Furthermore, the hope is to uncover some of the underlining causes that are the drivers that trigger the re evaluations in our organization as well as discover ways to mitigate those factors. Background Like any other business we need to lower our costs, we apparently have difficulties creating a realistic budget, at least initially, and also have great difficulties with accurately forecasting. Are budgeting problems for new products could be due to the fact that prospective costs on new parts take a while to get properly entered into the system, combine that fact with a 12 month projection, times the number of parts missing cost information from our budget document and there will be quite a difference in actual costs at the end. By using a bill of materials for as a guide for new products, items with over $5 per item actually cost difference can be off by as much as 80% overall. Direct torque control of induction motor simulation using conventional method and space vector pulse width modulation Naveen chander PG Student Electrical Engineering NITTTR Chandigarh, India snl.naveen@gmail.com Dr. Lini Mathew Associate Professor Electrical Engineering NITTTR Chandigarh, India Dr. S. Chatterji Professor Head Electrical Engineering NITTTR Chandigarh, India Abstract This paper proposes direct torque control of induction motor simulation using conventional method and space vector pulse width modulation technique for ripple reduction. Direct Torque Control is a control technique used in AC drive systems to obtain high performance torque control and thereby controlling the speed of induction motor. The principle is based on simultaneous decoupling of stator flux and electromagnetic torque of AC drive system. DTC drives use hysteresis comparators and they suffer from high torque ripple and variable switching frequency problem. The proposed SVM based DTC reduces torque ripples. The basis of the SVM DTC methodology is the calculation of the required voltage space vector to compensate the flux and torque errors and its generation using the SVM at each sample period. The performance of this method is demonstrated by simulation using MATLAB/Simulink software. Simulation results presented in this paper show the torque, flux linkage and stator current ripple decreases with the proposed SVM DTC algorithm. • 16. One Is Truth By Emerson Rhetorical Analysis Emerson s essay on friendship is one of the most remembered and highly respected essays dating back to the 19th century. The information given in the essay is extremely valuable and has helped to explain the universal truth that is friendship. Emerson s essay on friendship is his way of delineating the paths of coherence. These parts fall into two distinct kinds. The first is the consistent enunciation of a view which is the master tone that Emerson uses from essay to essay while the second is the internal linking of the views in the essay. Some scholars have argued that Emerson s views on friendship are strange and radical while others feel that his logic is sound and valid. However, He gives the true definition of friendship, At the entrance of a second person, hypocrisy begins. We parry and fend the approach of our fellow man by compliments, by gossip, by amusements, by affairs. We cover up our thought from him under a hundred folds. In addition, Emerson uses sound understanding and logic to present his view of friendship. In one way that he does this is by his statement, emotions of benevolence and complacency which apperceived towards others. Emerson s words show the remarks either abstract or generalized, in regards to friendship. This is noticed when Emerson s words move away from the abstract and generalized remarks on his experience with friendship. However, A person seeks the company of a stranger when they believe that the stranger will give or inspire something that we currently lack, Emerson stated Though from the essay, it turns out that Emerson does not have much to say about friendship, he states that the stranger who Emerson refers to as a friend awakens a desire for throbbing of the heart and the communications of the soul. As different dialects of a language develop they are shared with the people of the area. People often use the dialect of those that they interact with most. To explain this simply, a person who only speaks Chicano English is fine in their daily interactions with other speakers of the dialect but they may have trouble speaking with a Northern Dialect. The spread of language change depends on the factors that are causing it. The natural change in language over time smarts in a small area and spreads to everyone that it comes in contact with. America is a great melting pot of different people and as such English s multiple dialects reflect cultural diversity. One of the most studied and still not understood dialects is African American English. The point of contention between the ideas for the origin of African American English is whether it was based on an existing dialect in the south or if it was creole of English and different West African languages. Throughout modern day society, many diseases that humans would consider harmful and just simply and outright, fatal, were actually beneficial to our ancestors, centuries ago. Granted, there are definitely many diseases today that are killing millions of people, but these same diseases that exist have done the opposite for our ancestors. Many of these diseases such as diabetes, and hemochromatosis that we consider deadly provide us a follow up question: Why was this disease selected into our gene pool? And this question will date us back to centuries ago when our ancestors had actually benefited from such diseases as a crucial way to survive. Essentially, iron is what allows almost every form of life to metabolize and function. In fact, our bodies body has several mechanisms that prevent access to iron to pathogens and other infectious bacteria thrive on iron that may harm our bodies known as the acute phase response. The author describes this as he states the bloodstream is flooded with illness fighting proteins, and, at the same time, iron is locked away to prevent biological invaders from using it against us (7). So us readers can take away the idea that iron is crucial for our bodies. So how could potentially accumulating too much iron affect our health? That s when hemochromatosis comes along. Our bodies assumes that the person is lacking iron in their system so they continually absorb the iron in the intestine. Not only that, don t forget that bacteria and diseases also rely on iron to grow and accumulate. This can cause cancer cells to grow and spread continuously without stopping if it consumes our iron. Some of the symptoms of hemochromatosis are shown as the author observes from Aran Gordon, a natural long distance runner. From the book Moalem describes it as He was tired all the time. These measures included putting the measuring cylinders in the water bath/ ice box/ and bench top at the same time, using the same capsicum extract, having the same person record the results and add the capsicum extract. However there were still some results that exhibited error such as collecting the measuring cylinders at different times which prolonged the exposure, as well as have a delay between starting the timer and adding the capsicum extract. Other issues consist of having an uneven layer of foam (O2) which was a random error that made it difficult to record mL, and forgetting to record the temperature of the H2O2. Ideally there should have been a gap between exposing each measuring cylinder to the change in temperature, so once one temperature was recorded the next one was ready rather than them overlapping. Another improvement in the experiment would be to assign the task of timing to one person and adding the extract to another person to diminish the gap between completing each of the tasks*. Elizabeth s marriage to Mr. Darcy is one of the greatest match in Austen s novels. Until the very end of the story it is nearly impossible for Eliza to think of marrying Darcy because of the great social distance between their families. It is equally difficult for Darcy to think of marrying her. When Darcy proposes to Elizabeth, he says that the reason why he hardly admitted his feelings towards her was the distinction between the classes they belonged to. There are different views on the extent of social difference between them. In Lady Catherine s eyes Elizabeth is a nobody, with upstart pretensions , a woman shrewdly on the make, who will pollute the shades of Pemberley . Elizabeth herself, however, is not overwhelmed by the social difference. He is a gentleman; I am a gentleman s daughter; so far we are equal , she claims calmly. (Coperland et al. 1997). She demonstrates that marriage should be a choice made for love by allowing Elizabeth to remain in the power of choice even in spite of social pressures. Austen shows the good effects of a marriage based on love and the positive effects, which can come from it. As mentioned above, Lady Catherine represented the dying aristocratic class. Laertes who is Ophelia s sister has come back from France with a mob of commoners who they call Laertes lord and people say that Laertes shall become king. He enters the hall with an eager ready to avenge his father s death, Claudius the king tries to calm him down by acknowledging that Polonius is dead. The director in Branagh s version provided a padded cell for Ophelia where it shows that she really has gone insane and when she entered the hall, began singing about chaos, death, and unsatisfied love. The clothes she was wrapped in demonstrates an excellent illustration of her madness because when the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Understanding The Historical-Cultural Context Paper 1. What can happen when people approach the Bible without any concern for the historical cultural context? We misinterpret what God is trying to say. We need to understand what the audience was going through in the time that God was speaking to them. We need to understand the situation so that it can impact us the way that God intended it to impact the audience he was speaking to. One awesome example that the author points out is the parable of the Good Samaritan. When Jesus starts that A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho by looking at different resources to get the historical context we can find elevation, the route, the weather patterns, and most importantly the terrain. We would find out that Jerusalem is 2500 feet above sea level and Jericho is about 800 feet below sea level. The route is 20 miles and the terrain is very rugged. (Duvall, 2008, p. 53) So we can now understand that the Samaritan could have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Priest and a Levite passed the man either because they didn t see him or because they may have become ritually unclean. The Samaritan stopped and helped them man dying on the side of the road. The Jews Considered the Samaritans half breeds who had intermarried with foreigners and who were guilty of false worship. So stopping and showing compassion when the others did not would be very humiliating to the Jews in which Jesus was speaking. Through research I found out it would be the equivalent of an atheist homosexual married couple stopping to help a church bus that had just had a serious accident. • 37. Survival At The Cost Of Mortality In Literature The theme of survival at the cost of morality is evident in an abundant amount of literature seen today. This type of literature is studied everywhere from school classrooms to reading on an individual s free time. Morality relates to what behavior is considered right or wrong based on an individual s ethics. Sometimes a person may do things that they did not originally intend to do, but they feel as if they have to behave this way to get what they want, or even survive. The characters discussed in this English course that have displayed the quality of survival at the cost of mortality is Pi, Claudius, and Hamlet. (I, ii, 153 157). In this quotation, Hamlet compares Gertrude to an animal, saying that an animal would mourn longer for its mate. By saying this, it further proves the emotional damage that this marriage brought upon him. However, anyone would be upset if their mother ended up marrying their deceased husband s brother, especially when the brother is the one that killed her husband. Although this is not known by the reader or Hamlet yet because it is reveal shortly after. When Hamlet speaks to the ghost of his father and discovered that his father was not bitten by a snake and was actually murdered by Claudius, he has a plan: As I perchance hereafter shall think meet/ To put an antic disposition on (I, v, 191 192). Many factors influence and control social disorganization; this paper will explain exactly what social disorganization is, as well as its relationship or connection to organized crime and criminal behavior. Today s corrupt political groups can have a direct and immediate effect on social disorganization, as well as organized criminal activity ( Social Disorganization and Rural Communities , 2003). What is Social Disorganization? According to Bursik, (1988), the definition of social disorganization is an inability of community members to achieve shared values or to solve jointly experienced problems . Both theoretical and empirical research has focused on urban settings when studying influencers on crime and delinquencies. Current versions of social disorganization theory assume that strong social relationships will prevent crime and delinquency ( Social Disorganization and Rural Communities , 2003). Crime can become more prevalent spawned from neighborhoods with close living conditions such as apartment complexes or duplexes. Crime rates can also be higher in areas that have a breakdown in the family unit. An example of family unit breakdown could be a single parent family and divorce. It is also important to have a general idea of what one can expect when experiencing a loss. It seems that often people think that everyone should only grieve for certain amount of times, or something is wrong with them, when in fact, no matter the length of time, or degree, it is normal. In 1969, Elisabeth Kubler Ross created the stage perspective, which discusses the five stages of bereavement and what each stage could entail. Rebellion, often times categorized as a type of selfishness, is also part of our human growth. In the greek tragedy Antigone by Sophocles, and the article Resistance To Authority By Michael Schreiner, the authors both illustrate the idea of selfishness being acceptable to certain extents.
