Summary Of The Bobo Doll Experiment
In the Bobo Doll Experiment conducted by Stanford University s Dr. Albert Bandura the researchers
were interested in a few things. The researchers were interested in seeing whether or not, if social
behaviors such as aggression can be influenced and acquired by imitation and as well observation. In
this study the participants were composed of 36 boys and 36 girls from the nursery on campus, all
ranging in the ages from 3 to 6. In this study a tall inflatable plastic toy that were painted as clown,
also known as a bobo doll was used. The bobo doll was buoyant and had weight at the bottom which
allowed it to stand back up after being knocked down. Moving on the participants were all split into
three groups: in which one group observed aggressive

Innovative Technologies during the Civil War
Throughout the first half of the nineteenth century, there were many new inventions, and innovative
technologies that played a major role in the civil war. At the time of the Civil War, many of the
newfound war weapons in the Union proved essential for its victory. The new weapons showed a great
change in the technological world. During the time of the Civil war, Pistols, and other basic handheld,
guns were very popular, for a soldier to have. It was known for its capability of hitting a target from a
short distance. Before people started changing the way weapons were, a small handheld pistol gun,
that held one bullet, was considered, the best before, innovations, were performed. infantry soldiers
would use muskets with one bullet at a time, shooting as far as 250 yards. However, if exact persistent
location for the bullet to hit is needed, 80 yards would be the furthest distance to shoot from. If a
soldier had a pistol as his main weapon, commanders, and generals, taught them different war tactics

Prior to the Seneca Falls Convention and the women s rights movements, women were mistreated and

eventually led to what they are able to do today. In 1831, the Second Great Awakening was happened

Subprime Lending Research Paper
Subprime lending has been a part of the financial industry for decades. Liberalization of lending
regulations since the late 1970 s has allowed for the proliferation of the practice of subprime lending,
most notably with subprime mortgages and their associated securities. Subprime lending is the
practice of lending to borrowers who do not have the financial stability to qualify for a more
traditional loan. A subprime loan differs from a traditional loan in that it is offered to less qualified
borrowers, they are riskier for the lender, and as such use much higher interest rates, often one that
increases significantly over a short period of time. Along with this, the growth of specifically
subprime mortgages came after the tax deduction for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The issues with subprime loans and their uses in the economy can be read from the various economic
theorists, each coming at it with vastly different perspectives. The tricky thing with analyzing these
loans and applying them to the economy as a whole lies with connected the movements of the debt
sector to the movements of the economy as a whole, and connected what each economist might say
about the importance of debt in our modern world. One side of the argument studied in class
emphasized the self righting nature of the market economy, and as such, nothing can be done to create
a long term recession. Their beliefs in the self righting market economy stems from the idea that
given, people naturally move towards the best possible deal, to maximize their potential, the economy
must be able to right itself in the event of mass value loss given people may do this automatically. To
truly believe in the idea of the self righting market economy, these economists must also subscribe to
the idea that people are rational maximizing actors in the economy. Any possible issues with the
proliferation of subprime loans seen by this class of economists would likely not be seen as a threat to
be dealt with, but a misstep that will get naturally ironed out as it is exposed to the free market. For
these economists, the actions taken by the

Differences Between Race And Class
When it comes to the topics of race and class those two topics cannot be talked about without
mentioning the other. There was a time where once race would determine where he/or she would be
placed within society. Within society we are placed categories to distinguish differences from one
another and two of those categories are race and class while the other is gender. There are many cases
where people can find themselves in multiple categories, which can either be served with advantages

The Five Steps of Grief
Grief is a process that involves five important steps to correctly deal with a painful situation or the
loss of someone important in ones life. In the famous play Hamlet written by William Shakespeare a
young boy is forced into the grieving process when his father dies. The audience can see him go
through all five step, and also can see how the ones around him also go through the process. To
overcome grief effectively all five steps must be experienced but not in any particular order and
through the stories the readers can see how each character deals with grief differently but eventually
all reach acceptance. Lorraine Hansberry, writes about a family is all waiting for the arrival of their

griefing. People to often think that depression needs to be fixed and cured but it is not that easy and
one needs to go through the normal sadness to begin the next step. Beneatha in The Raisin in The Sun
states that she believes she is nothing(451). She thinks that her life will never amount to anything

Love And Cruelty In James Hurst s The Scarlet Ibis
Love and cruelty are two feelings that are so different, yet they are very similar. Cruelty can be
changed and conquered by love, turning into a proud, and wonderful thing. Yet, love can still fall apart
against the harshness of cruelty. James Hurst represents this idea through his characters, Doodle and
Brother, in his work, The Scarlet Ibis . Doodle is born with a caul around his head and grows up
crippled and physically limited. Brother is ashamed of Doodle s limitations and teaches Doodle how
to walk, run, climb, fight and swim. Hurst uses the symbols of the storm and the scarlet ibis to
demonstrate the cruelty and the love in Doodle and Brother s relationship, ultimately showing how
even the strongest of relationships can end.
The storm is used to symbolize Brother s cruelty towards Doodle. Doodle is born with a membrane
surrounding his head, a caul. Because of this, Brother is embarrassed and ashamed of Doodle not
being normal . Brother so much thought of killing Doodle to remove his problem although he never
actually did. Yet one day while Brother is watching Doodle in his crib, he sees Doodle smile and
realizes that he does have a brother in there. This inspires Brother to try and teach Doodle how to do
basic things any kid his age should be able to do. After having spent a lot of time with Doodle, Brother
has an epiphany and realizes he did not do this because of love, he did it because he is embarrassed
and ashamed of having a crippled brother. Yet one day while

Restoring The Physical Integrity Of The Tidal Wetland...
Across all projects, the first step in tidal wetland restoration is almost always to create a restoration
site template that will form the basis of the entire project. Experts believe that restoring the physical
integrity of the tidal wetland offers the best opportunity of restoring ecologic integrity (Faber Design
17). How the template is formed will ultimately dictate what the final wetland will look like.
Construction of the wetland base may require either excavation or fill depending on the site
conditions. Some sites, like the Ballona Wetlands, have been filled with a massive layer of dirt, and in
these cases, the site will need to be excavated back down to the bottom of the root zone so that natural

In the consideration of which method is appropriate, one must also evaluate the site s natural
sedimentation load and its effect on the site s own capacity for self restoration. For example, at the
Sears Point Wetlands, no additional fill was placed on the project site even though the land had
significantly subsided because of the high local suspended sediment concentrations in the San Pablo
Bay promoting rapid natural sedimentation (Wetlands and Water 65). Another element to the template
design of a restoration site is the decision to excavate tidal channels and a drainage system.
Oftentimes, project managers can choose to rejuvenate pre existing tidal drainage system by
redirecting tidal flows into the area. If the natural drainage system has become too shallow over time,
one may choose to excavate channels that follow the original drainage network of the wetland. This
decision can contribute significantly to the success of the wetland because the natural processes will
be restored much more quickly than if the wetland was allowed to re develop those channels on its
own (Faber Design 47). Because the drainage systems function as valuable wildlife habitat, the Sears
Point project took special care to establish the antecedent channel configuration by

In know that the setting is in the poem because the poem says the beauty of the morning, so silent so
bare and the fact that in the morning the sun is shining and it s peaceful creates the right atmosphere

which shows it is at night and this sets the scene for the poem. As it is a negative poem if it was a
bright colourful day then the negative mood that is created in this poem wouldn t be created. This
shows how having the right type of time of day is important to the poet as it helps them set the mood

The Bank of England and The 2008 Financial Crisis Essay
Due to the 2008 financial crisis, the Bank of England employed quantitative easing (an
unconventional monetary policy used to stimulate the economy) by cutting interest rates down to 0.5
% and has been keeping it until now. The Bank made the decision to keep QE and the interest rate
unchanged in March. Spare capacity (the ability of a firm to produce more of a product than is now
being produced) is used by the BoE to justify its use of forward guidance policy (a communicative
tool for monetary policy). Low interest rates improved the economy by increasing consumption and
investment, which are the components of AD. The AD curve shows the total spending on goods and

The money supply will increase as the components of AD (C+I) rise. Figure 2 illustrates the increase
in money supply through showing the rightward shift of the MS curve, from MS1 to MS2. The money
demand will remain the same (MD). Therefore, increasing the money supply will lower the interest
rate from i1 to i2. This is partly due to the increased availability of money. More money around means
it is easier to acquire and thus command lower interest rates. However, such an increase in money
supply may also increase the inflation rate and possibly cause a hyperinflation if uncontrolled.
The main benefit of low interest rates is its stimulating effect on economy. The BoE can help start
businesses spending on goods which helps the economy in the long run and can help consumers to
spend more on durable goods. Also the consumers demand for products will increase. This will force
the firms to try to meet the demands by hiring additional workers which in turn will reduce the
unemployment rate.
A disadvantage of low interest rates is low interest rates harm savers and those who rely heavily on
interest income in the long run. Workers are influenced by lowered interest rates because the firms that
benefited from the changes in rates will hire more workers while the opposite will be true for the
negatively affected firms. Stockholders are affected because when interest rates rise, stocks tend to
fall. Suppliers

Who Is Responsible For Macbeth s Downfall
In Renaissance literature, tragedies were popular stories among nobles and peasants alike. The stage
was a popular outlet to show the downfall of heros beginning in the 16th century. According to
Aristotle, there were five traits that a hero could contained in order to make him a tragic hero. The first
and simplest was that the character is usually born of noble birth, making him more likely to gain the
throne and end up losing it in the end. The second was Hamartia, the tragic flaw in a character that
eventually leads to his downfall. Next, the Peripeteia which is a reversal of fortune brought about by
the hero s tragic flaw. This relates to Anagnorisis, which includes the hero s actions resulting in an

Segu is a garden where cunning grows. Segu is built on treachery. Speak of Segu outside Segu, but do

one could reject it, and stand up for what they believe in. Unfortunately, it is basically a two to one
scenario and the spread of Islam is inevitable.
An example of the people who just followed the religion because they felt pressured were the people
who sent their children to the schools that were set up to learn the religion. For the children who
already had a religion, their parents sent them there to convert them, which also made the parents look
good socially. If they did this, they usually got privileges and they fit in as well.
Another focal point in Segu was slavery and the slave trade. There was a strong demand for slaves
during this time period and the fact that human beings were being traded physically tore families and
communities apart. Sadly, the younger the slave, the better they were for labor and the higher they
were on demand by slave traders. A typical slave was between ten and thirty years old. The people
trading the slaves viewed them as property, with absolutely no regard for their feelings or their
families. The consistent trade of the slaves caused much fear and the people became alienated.

Education And The National Curriculum Framework
While teaching in state maintained schools, it is necessary that the National Curriculum Framework is
followed and children are taught the relevant skills and knowledge stated within each Programme of
Study. Therefore, there must be structure to the lessons where these skills and knowledge are to be
developed throughout the academic year. Previous teaching strategies required teachers to follow a
rigid plan where each individual lesson was to last one hour and be taught at a certain time on a
certain day (i.e. The Literacy Hour). These strategies are no longer necessary for teachers to follow
anymore; it is now possible for teachers to integrate lessons using a central theme, enabling them to
teach pupils in a more imaginative and original way, which will stimulate children s interest and
engagement whilst still developing the necessary skills and knowledge specified in the National
Curriculum (Sewell, 2015). This integrated curriculum allows children to pursue learning in a holistic
way without the restrictions often imposed by subject boundaries (Kelly, 2001). Subject integration
provides an opportunity for students to make natural and meaningful connections between and among
multiple content areas (Bogan, King McKenzie, Bantwini, 2012:1055). The human brain does not
separate knowledge into discrete partitions but creates a complex web of information that recognises
patterns... , thus thematic teaching works with the brain rather than counter to its natural function

Comparison Of Poseidon Vs. Megatron
Poseidon vs. Megatron What makes someone a true villain? Someone powerful but answers to another
or someone so powerful no one could command him? A villain is someone so strong or powerful the
can do whatever they want, including evil. Movies and books have many famous villains but two
incredible ones are Poseidon a villain written by the Greek poet, Homer, and Megatron a villain from
the movie Transformers. When put next to Poseidon, Megatron is better for numerous reasons. Some
people believe that Poseidon is the most formidable villain in literature because he is angry, powerful,
and vengeful.Unfortunately, Poseidon is angry. According to the book the Odyssey, Poseidon god of

Narrative Essay On A River Runner
Sturgeon River Runner
I thought it was going to be a cool and relaxing river, but I was wrong. Finally, school was out and it
was time for fun and excitement during summer vacation, so my dad thought it was a good idea to go
camping and kayaking. Every summer our family goes on a trip to the Platte River. However, when I
was ten years old my parents decided to do something different and go to the Sturgeon River instead.
This would be one of the fastest and craziest river I have ever gone kayaking on.
We headed to Turtle Lake Campground, and finally arrived around noon so we still had plenty of time
to explore. Since I had never been there before I decided to check it out as soon as I could. I offered to

Yes I replied as I took my shoes off to drain the water out. My dad grabbed my kayak and he flipped it
over to drain the water out of it. I was really cold and scared while we were standing on the shore of
the river waiting for the water to drain back into the river, but I learned my lesson that day and I still

I ve learned that I should never get to carried away when doing serious things because it could go bad

The Impact Of Facebook On Citizen Engagement
on the power that social media sites possess on citizen engagement. However, a study done in 2011
examined the usefulness of Facebook pages as a way to connect citizens with each other (many to
many) for policy input versus the utilization of those social media sites to transmit to and receive from
government to citizens (one to many) in a more authoritative manner . The study was done to examine
the use of Facebook to maintain power relations and inform citizens about their views rather than
using the platform for the soft of connectivity for which it was intended: that is flat, egalitarian
networked communications or even iterated and critical feedback exchanges . Results are promising to
better the future link for citizen engagement. Social media can be the resource used to increase
interaction between government and citizens. Today this form of social media communication is on a
rise and is becoming an accepted part of everyday life. By establishing a right kind of respect and
privacy this tool will replace the old with the new and open doors to new interactions between the
government and social media. As much as social media may appear to be the missing link between
government and citizen interaction, it may have a dark side. Social media can be used against the
government. It can be used as a tool for protest. Still something that is new and upcoming, social
media in protests is making quite the impact. Current conventional wisdom has it that social networks

that if you believed in something, which was equality at that time, then you have a moral obligation to
do something about it. If one does nothing about the problem, then you are part of the problem itself.
This important message striked the Negro community with no alternative other than to fight for their
rights as citizens and human beings. Nevertheless, many believed that because MLK was not from the
City of Birmingham he possessed no rights to protest; however, MLK proved himself qualified by
stating that as the president of SCLC and similarities between him and apostle Paul, he had a moral

The elements that a company needs to have global success is knowing the culture of the countries that
they are going to do business with and sending the right workers to the countries they will do best in
to do business. The obstacles for global expansion would be like not finding good supporting
countries like a company like boeing and now finding good staff that can do business in a certain
country.
3. They want to build relationships between other countries and their customers is a good thing.
Another good thing is that they want to hire people in that country and place that know it better and
have lived there because they would know where everything is and who lives there and needs what.
Some bad things though is since they have so many staff workers across the world that those business
could be inefficient and they could lose their relationship with the people and places and even
countries. Then DHL could start losing their high ranked reputation and lose a lot of business with
customers and other types of companies such as boeing and then they could even go bankrupt or out
of business for good.
4. DHL failed in the U.S. because of the Airborne Express, which they paid $1 billion for and ever
since it has been making them lose money. The dangers are that other companies are going to be
looking at them more and waiting for them to mess up so that they can step in and try to take over

A coat of arms is used as a representative emblem. It could be placed on a shield or a flag and it
usually would look something like a crest. Typically, a coat of arms would be used to represent a
family, person, or country. For example, the Canadian coat of arms is used to represent Canada and the
qualities that the country values most. But it could also be used to represent a company, school or
profession. For example, most universities and colleges have a coat of arms to represent the school

Communication in nursing is done with the patient, their family, or the healthcare team and can come

The Discovery of Vesicle Transportation System Essay
On October 7th 2013, the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in
Physiology or Medicine jointly to James E. Rothman, Randy W. Schekman and Thomas C. Sudhof for
their discoveries of machinery regulating vesicle traffic, a major transport system in our cells . Before
this research, knowledge about the vesicle transportation system that eukaryotic cells utilized was
essentially limited to what could be observed, including its various tasks and actions and its huge
significance in cell survival. The question that remained unanswered, however; was exactly how this
system was able to perform and control its tasks with such efficiency and precision throughout the cell
body and beyond. Therefore, Rothman, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sophisticated intracellular setup has understandingly raised questions about its mechanics and
remained an enigma until the three Nobel Laureates presented their discoveries.
Randy Schekman was able to identify the genes that controlled vesicle trafficking through the use of
yeast cells and it s genetics as a model. In order to identify which genes participate in vesicle
transportation, Schekman used genetic screening, which is a process where mutant organisms are
created and isolated based on the desired phenotype to determine the presence of a gene associated
with a disorder. Through this genetic screening, Randy Schekman observed mutated yeast cells and
isolated those with flawed vesicle transport systems. He observed that these cells experienced
congestion of vesicles in certain areas of the cell, specifically in the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi
complex and the cell surface. Therefore he was able to accredit control of vesicle trafficking to the
twenty three specific genes he later identified and classified in relationship to the location of the
vesicle blocks. James Rothman discovered how vesicles are able to fuse with its target membrane
when transporting molecules by a protein complex. Rothman was able to arrive to this discovery
through the use of his work with a specific viral protein. He used a system where infected cells would

Persuasive Essay On Vegetarians
I ve been a carnivore my entire life, and I am here to say that I am appalled by you who think that it is
okay to contribute to the violent deaths of so many of God s peaceful, biotic organisms. I am ashamed
of the lack of compassion you exhibit towards your eating habits, you are systematically committing
mass murder and you do not feel a single sense of guilt. Every year, billions of the victims are put
through unbelievable amounts of pain and trauma to a degree that would shock even the worst
criminals. Who are these murderers, you ask? They are the vegetarians.
Vegetarians: You believe that all sentient beings are entitled to life and freedom. And yes, we would
much prefer to watch a video of someone cutting an apple than slitting the neck of a pig. This is
because you do not believe a vegetable is capable of emotions as they do not possess brains nor a

alive? He didn t have a brain, yet he could still feel enough sadness to cry about it. A Sea sponge is
considered an animal yet it also does not possess nerves or a brain. Plants can actually do a lot of
things that we would consider animalistic. For example, they do move, if only at a pace that can only

Image Denoising Essay
3.1 IMAGE DENOISING
Denoising of image means, suppressing the effect of noise to an extent that the resultant image
becomes acceptable. The spatial domain or transform (frequency) domain filtering can be used for this
purpose. There is one to one correspondence between linear spatial filters and filters in the frequency
domain. However, spatial filters offer considerably more versatility because they can also be used for
non linear filtering, something we cannot do in the frequency domain. Recently wavelet transform is
also being used to remove the impulse noise from noisy images. Historically, in early days filters were
used uniformly on the entire image without discriminating between the noisy and noise free pixels.

Researchers published different ways to compute the parameters for the thresholding of wavelet
coefficients. Data adaptive thresholds were introduced to achieve optimum value of threshold. Later
efforts found that substantial improvements in perceptual quality could be obtained by translation
invariant methods based on thresholding of an Undecimated Wavelet Transform . These thresholding
techniques were applied to the nonorthogonal wavelet coefficients to reduce artifacts. Multiwavelets
were also used to achieve similar results. Probabilistic models using the statistical properties of the
wavelet coefficient seemed to outperform the thresholding techniques and gained ground. Recently,
much effort has been devoted to Bayesian denoising in Wavelet domain. Hidden Markov Models and
Gaussian Scale Mixtures have also become popular and more research continues to be published. Tree
Structures ordering the wavelet coefficients based on their magnitude, scale and spatial location have
been researched. Data adaptive transforms such as Independent Component Analysis (ICA) have been
explored for sparse shrinkage. The trend continues to focus on using different statistical models to
model the statistical properties of the wavelet coefficients and its neighbors. Future trend will be

Abuse occurs when people mistreat or misuse other people, showing no concern for their integrity or

and emotional abuse. On average, most children that grow up in an abusive home are most likely to
become abusive towards their spouse and or kids. Family abuse can be the worse because it affects the
whole family. Emotional abuse affects the inside and that can be mentally damaging. Most of the time,
neglect abuse is not always intentional. It s caused by inexperienced parents not knowing how to raise
the child. This paper, will focus on the affects domestic abuse has on children. When children are
exposed to family violence, it effect the children mentally and physically. It makes kids fearful of
other adults or elders. The child could start to lie about the abuse and start to feel that it s their fault.
Which makes them afraid to even talk to their own family about the abuse. It can lead the child to

Shakespeare s Presentation of Rome and Egypt in Antony and Cleopatra As the title clearly suggests,
Shakespeare s Antony and Cleopatra is based around the extraordinary relationship among two
distinctive individuals, one a Roman general and the other an Egyptian queen. Along with Caesar who
is also a Roman general, these entities dominate the play s tragic storyline progression. However
whilst Antony and Cleopatra centres around a provocative love affair, Shakespeare makes it evident
that there is a good deal larger tensions involved, a collision course between two worlds. Antony and

In Antony and Cleopatra, West and East collide, but it does not in spite of Caesar s conquest over the
land of Egypt, defeat it. Cleopatra s suicide implies that a touch of the East s character, the freedoms
and fervour that are not signified in the play s notion of the West, cannot be listed by Caesar s victory.
The play proposes that the East will survive on as a perceptible and invincible counterpart to the West,
bound as inseparably and everlastingly as Antony and Cleopatra are in their mausoleum. As the play
develops, Antony continues to occupy contradictory characteristics that play out the struggle between
motive and feeling. In one instance, he is the rancorous war hero whom Caesar eulogizes and fears.
Almost immediately after that, he surrenders his military designation by foolishly allowing Cleopatra
to establish his course of action. As his Roman friends, even the faithful Enobarbus desert him,
Antony feels that he has, without a doubt, lost himself in old age, and he resolves to salvage his
dignified individuality by killing his self. Originally, this act may emerge to be a victory of motive
over fervour, of Western consciousness over Eastern ones, but the play is not as straightforward as
that. Even though Antony departs this life deeming himself a man of reverence,

Evaluation Of A Letter Of Acceptance
It is indicative for consideration to be effective it must also move from the promise. The individual
who desires to implement the contract must display that they provided consideration. In this case
Tobias offered consideration in sending a letter of acceptance. In sending a letter Tobias ensured
acceptance was communicated. When Tobias entered in to a contract it was constructed on the

The Quality Of The Restaurant Essay
Quality of the Restaurant Order: I order Vegetable Soup, Chicken Fever (stir fried chicken with

interesting choice to eat chicken with, so I told myself Why not! It was also spicy which was great. As

different spices and sauces. Something I was comfortable with that could bring new flavors. The
vegetables in the soup where to saugy for my taste. In the other hand they had absorbed the flavors

The And The Sacrifice Of Isaac By Peter Paul

My Journey to The Sacrifice of Isaac by Peter Paul Rubens begin when I saw a painting at the Nelson

echoing ceilings. I stood in front of a massive, Renaissance era piece. Without looking at the title or

infamous stories from the bible.
And when I remembered that painting, years later, I knew that would be the focus of this paper.

characterize cults as lacking a formal organizational structure and as largely controlled in an
authoritative manner by their leader. Cults are often defined and identified by the names of their
leaders, at least in the popular media. Barnes and Becker said Charismatic domination is established
through the extraordinary qualities of the leader. Law is not the source of authority; on the contrary, he

Greil and Rudy have noted that many organizations are best conceived as parareligious or quasi
religious because they have mixed characteristics, some of which are sacred and others secular.
However, as novel forms of religious identity, cults are likely to be severely challenged by mainstream
culture. Pfeifer found that the vast majority of college students in his sample described an average cult
member only in negative terms; not a single student used positive terms. He divided them into three
groups and had them to respond to one of the three vignettes describing three groups, but each was
selected based upon popular notions of alleged authoritarian structures and near total environmental
control of members, who are kept isolated for the wider society. The vignettes were identical except
for the groups specified that were Marines, Moonies, or priests. The vignette described a typical
recruit, Bill, at the relevant group facility. He said that when Bill was at the facility, he was not
allowed very much contact with his friends or family and he was seldom

Essay On Alaska
Budget and Economy in Alaska Located in the Northwest limit of the United States of America
(USA), Alaska is the largest state of the US. Despite its big dimension, it is one of the least populated
states due its cold weather. Most of Alaska s economy comes from its natural resources. The fishing,
natural gas, and oil industries dominate it almost 85% of its budget comes from oil and gas revenues.
Alaska also provides half of the nation s coal reserves, and has one of the largest silver and zinc
mines. However, most of its resources are undeveloped due to its remote location and lack of
infrastructure as mentioned in the ground truth trekking website. The industry directly employs around
4,500 people, indirectly supports over 8,000 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many regulations and measures have been passed to reduce pollution and control the use of natural
resources nationally as well as internationally. Most of the states and countries are also concerned
about the emission of carbon. Producing oil is also becoming less and less expensive thus making less
appealing to produce oil in Alaska where building a drill is more expensive. In addition, the ongoing
increase of the electric and more fuel efficient cars demand has a major impact on the oil industry.
This will result in a decrease of oil price and its demand. The best alternative for Alaska will be to
diversify its source of income and not just heavily depend on oil money. Since Alaska is donated with
many natural resources, Alaska can take advantage of it to develop its economy. Firstly, Alaska can
shift its focus from oil and gas to coal. About 30% of the US coal is in Alaska. However, most of the
coal is in the Arctic Circle and therefore hard to access. If Alaska invest in power plants and in
innovating technology that will allow to safely dig for coal in the far North, Alaska will considerably
increase its revenues given the high demand of coal here and all over the world. Alaska will also have
to do a research to effectively localize al the coal available in the state and the best to get to it. It also
must comply to the state regulations as well as

Pele Research Paper
Who is the best player in the soccer forever? There are many great player throughout the history of
soccer. However, no one like Pele. Pele has a great history in soccer. His history biggest than any
player in the soccer history whether they are retired or still playing. In my perspective, Pele is the
greatest player of soccer forever for several reasons: from difficult childhood to a great star, he scored
goals more than any player else throughout the history of soccer and he won three FIFA World so, the
only player ever to do this achievement. First, Edson Arantes Do Nascimento Pele was born on
October 23, 1940, in a small town called Tres in the Brazilian state of Minas. His parents were poor.

Pele participated in the first game and it was against Argentina and he scored the winning goal. And he
participated in the second game and he scored two goals. It was clear that Pele will become a great
player in f soccer. In 1958, Sweden hosted the World Cup, Pele was injured in the start of the
tournament and he was unable to play in the first two games. So Brazil suffered in the first two games
and they need to win in the third match against Wales for the passage of the second round of the
tournament. Therefore, the participation of Pele in this match was required. And he played and he
scored the winning goal. This stunning goal gave Brazil to qualify for the second round of the World
Cup. In the semi final match Brazil played against France, Pele scored three goals to help Brazil to
reach the final match, which was against the host team which is Sweden. In this game Pele scored two
goals to help Brazil to won in the final of World Cup 5 2. It s the first time that Brazil wins the World
Cup. It was clear that Pele became a national hero at the age of seventeen and he was the youngest

business matters as well as aspects of EU law. The European airline industry suits this choice of topic
very well as it is a business operating largely across European borders, but it has also been the center
of a substantial amount of EU legislation through the deregulation of the industry and the
abandonment of state aid for national carriers. This has contributed to great changes in the dynamics
and structure of the European airline industry, which I find fascinating and have therefore chosen to

Scout Finch Symbolism Essay
Although the story is seen through a child s perspective, it includes multiple instances of symbolism.
The story s main character is Scout Finch who is a child that is living through the 1930 s full of
racism. It is about a man who is an attorney that struggles to prove a black man s innocence and fights
to keep his children safe. Harper Lee s ¨To Kill a Mockingbird¨ is a book with several examples of
symbolism, including Atticus symbolized as a mockingbird.
Atticus is so selfless that he can feel compassion for even Bob Ewell. For example, Jem, see if you
can stand in Bob Ewell s shoes a minute. I destroyed his last shred of credibility at that trial, if he had
any to begin with. The man had to have some kind of comeback, his kind always ... Show more

For example, You might hear some ugly talk about it at school, but do one thing for me if you will:
you just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don t
you let em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change. By telling Scout to fight with her
head, Atticus is showing her how she can fight without getting in trouble, rather than resorting to using
her fists and getting in trouble for her actions. He is also trying to teach Scout to control her temper
and not let others get the better of her by making her angry. Atticus believes that everyone should be
equal and that it isn t fair for black people to get treated unfairly in court. Harper Lee explains this by
adding, Our courts have their faults, as does any human institution, but in this country our courts are
the great levellers, and in our courts all men are created equal. Here, Atticus is describing the
principles of blind justice and equality under the law. Courts should decide cases objectively without
favoring any race or gender, for example. The one place where a man ought to get a square deal is in a
courtroom, be he any color of the rainbow, but people have a way of carrying their resentments right
into a jury box. This shows that atticus believes that everyone should have equal rights especially in

Society s Fate in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Society s Fate It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity
(Albert Einstein). Although the future remains difficult to predict, some ideas develop the undeniable
fate of society. Throughout Brave New World, Aldous Huxley explains predictions for the future of
society. The story begins by introducing Bernard Marx and his discovery of John, and his mother
Linda on the reservation. This unfolds into John realizing the degree to which society has stripped
their humanity. The emotionless society that Huxley displays depicts the nearing future of society.
Although the future will introduce many useful tools for society, the damage done to society and
personality is inevitable. Huxley s predictions about the future focus mainly on the dealing with
suffering, questioning true freedom, and perversion of spirituality.
Humanity deals with suffering in many ways, and many reveal damaging side effects. Just as in today
s world, suffering in many cases leads to abuse of alcohol and drugs. More specifically in Brave New
World soma offers all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects (Huxley 54).
Although soma lacks the apparent side effects of drugs and alcohol, if analyzed properly soma only
offers advantages to the authority controlling the people due to the ability of numbing society. Also,
Huxley utilizes the comparison to Christianity and alcohol displaying irony due to the fact that
Christianity involves the soul

The tricky thing with analyzing these loans and applying them to the economy as a whole lies with connected the movements of the debt sector to the movements of the economy as a whole, and connected what each economist might say about the importance of debt in our modern world. One side of the argument studied in class emphasized the self righting nature of the market economy, and as such, nothing can be done to create a long term recession. Their beliefs in the self righting market economy stems from the idea that given, people naturally move towards the best possible deal, to maximize their potential, the economy must be able to right itself in the event of mass value loss given people may do this automatically. To truly believe in the idea of the self righting market economy, these economists must also subscribe to the idea that people are rational maximizing actors in the economy. • 14. Love And Cruelty In James Hurst s The Scarlet Ibis Love and cruelty are two feelings that are so different, yet they are very similar. Cruelty can be changed and conquered by love, turning into a proud, and wonderful thing. Yet, love can still fall apart against the harshness of cruelty. James Hurst represents this idea through his characters, Doodle and Brother, in his work, The Scarlet Ibis . Doodle is born with a caul around his head and grows up crippled and physically limited. Brother is ashamed of Doodle s limitations and teaches Doodle how to walk, run, climb, fight and swim. Hurst uses the symbols of the storm and the scarlet ibis to demonstrate the cruelty and the love in Doodle and Brother s relationship, ultimately showing how even the strongest of relationships can end. The storm is used to symbolize Brother s cruelty towards Doodle. Doodle is born with a membrane surrounding his head, a caul. Because of this, Brother is embarrassed and ashamed of Doodle not being normal . Brother so much thought of killing Doodle to remove his problem although he never actually did. Yet one day while Brother is watching Doodle in his crib, he sees Doodle smile and realizes that he does have a brother in there. Across all projects, the first step in tidal wetland restoration is almost always to create a restoration site template that will form the basis of the entire project. Experts believe that restoring the physical integrity of the tidal wetland offers the best opportunity of restoring ecologic integrity (Faber Design 17). How the template is formed will ultimately dictate what the final wetland will look like. Construction of the wetland base may require either excavation or fill depending on the site conditions. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the consideration of which method is appropriate, one must also evaluate the site s natural sedimentation load and its effect on the site s own capacity for self restoration. For example, at the Sears Point Wetlands, no additional fill was placed on the project site even though the land had significantly subsided because of the high local suspended sediment concentrations in the San Pablo Bay promoting rapid natural sedimentation (Wetlands and Water 65). Another element to the template design of a restoration site is the decision to excavate tidal channels and a drainage system. Oftentimes, project managers can choose to rejuvenate pre existing tidal drainage system by redirecting tidal flows into the area. If the natural drainage system has become too shallow over time, one may choose to excavate channels that follow the original drainage network of the wetland. This decision can contribute significantly to the success of the wetland because the natural processes will be restored much more quickly than if the wetland was allowed to re develop those channels on its own (Faber Design 47). Because the drainage systems function as valuable wildlife habitat, the Sears Point project took special care to establish the antecedent channel configuration by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Bank made the decision to keep QE and the interest rate unchanged in March. Spare capacity (the ability of a firm to produce more of a product than is now being produced) is used by the BoE to justify its use of forward guidance policy (a communicative tool for monetary policy). The money supply will increase as the components of AD (C+I) rise. Figure 2 illustrates the increase in money supply through showing the rightward shift of the MS curve, from MS1 to MS2. The money demand will remain the same (MD). Therefore, increasing the money supply will lower the interest rate from i1 to i2. This is partly due to the increased availability of money. More money around means it is easier to acquire and thus command lower interest rates. However, such an increase in money supply may also increase the inflation rate and possibly cause a hyperinflation if uncontrolled. The main benefit of low interest rates is its stimulating effect on economy. The BoE can help start businesses spending on goods which helps the economy in the long run and can help consumers to spend more on durable goods. Also the consumers demand for products will increase. This will force the firms to try to meet the demands by hiring additional workers which in turn will reduce the unemployment rate. A disadvantage of low interest rates is low interest rates harm savers and those who rely heavily on interest income in the long run. The first and simplest was that the character is usually born of noble birth, making him more likely to gain the throne and end up losing it in the end. The second was Hamartia, the tragic flaw in a character that eventually leads to his downfall. Next, the Peripeteia which is a reversal of fortune brought about by the hero s tragic flaw. • 22. The Spread of Islam and the Slave Trade Essay The Spread of Islam and the Slave Trade Segu is a garden where cunning grows. Segu is built on treachery. Speak of Segu outside Segu, but do not speak of Segu in Segu (Conde 3). These are the symbolic opening words to the novel Segu by Maryse Conde. The kingdom of Segu in the eighteenth and nineteenth century represents the rise and fall of many kingdoms in the pre colonial Africa. Therefore, Segu indirectly represents the enduring struggles, triumphs, and defeats of people who are of African decent in numerous countries around the world. There are three major historical concepts that are the focus of this book. One is the spread of the Islamic religion. Another is the slave trade, and the last is the new trade in the nineteenth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two men represent the struggle that many faced in Segu and ironically, are brothers. There are basically three standpoints when it comes to the Islamic religion. One could embrace it, and completely follow it like Tiekoro. One could simply follow it because they may feel pressured to, or one could reject it, and stand up for what they believe in. Unfortunately, it is basically a two to one scenario and the spread of Islam is inevitable. An example of the people who just followed the religion because they felt pressured were the people who sent their children to the schools that were set up to learn the religion. For the children who already had a religion, their parents sent them there to convert them, which also made the parents look good socially. If they did this, they usually got privileges and they fit in as well. Another focal point in Segu was slavery and the slave trade. There was a strong demand for slaves during this time period and the fact that human beings were being traded physically tore families and communities apart. Sadly, the younger the slave, the better they were for labor and the higher they were on demand by slave traders. A typical slave was between ten and thirty years old. The people trading the slaves viewed them as property, with absolutely no regard for their feelings or their families. The consistent trade of the slaves caused much fear and the people became alienated. What reason could there be for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Education And The National Curriculum Framework While teaching in state maintained schools, it is necessary that the National Curriculum Framework is followed and children are taught the relevant skills and knowledge stated within each Programme of Study. Therefore, there must be structure to the lessons where these skills and knowledge are to be developed throughout the academic year. Previous teaching strategies required teachers to follow a rigid plan where each individual lesson was to last one hour and be taught at a certain time on a certain day (i.e. The Literacy Hour). These strategies are no longer necessary for teachers to follow anymore; it is now possible for teachers to integrate lessons using a central theme, enabling them to teach pupils in a more imaginative and original way, which will stimulate children s interest and engagement whilst still developing the necessary skills and knowledge specified in the National Curriculum (Sewell, 2015). This integrated curriculum allows children to pursue learning in a holistic way without the restrictions often imposed by subject boundaries (Kelly, 2001). Subject integration provides an opportunity for students to make natural and meaningful connections between and among multiple content areas (Bogan, King McKenzie, Bantwini, 2012:1055). Before this research, knowledge about the vesicle transportation system that eukaryotic cells utilized was essentially limited to what could be observed, including its various tasks and actions and its huge significance in cell survival. The question that remained unanswered, however; was exactly how this system was able to perform and control its tasks with such efficiency and precision throughout the cell body and beyond. This sophisticated intracellular setup has understandingly raised questions about its mechanics and remained an enigma until the three Nobel Laureates presented their discoveries. Randy Schekman was able to identify the genes that controlled vesicle trafficking through the use of yeast cells and it s genetics as a model. In order to identify which genes participate in vesicle transportation, Schekman used genetic screening, which is a process where mutant organisms are created and isolated based on the desired phenotype to determine the presence of a gene associated with a disorder. Through this genetic screening, Randy Schekman observed mutated yeast cells and isolated those with flawed vesicle transport systems. He observed that these cells experienced congestion of vesicles in certain areas of the cell, specifically in the endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex and the cell surface. Therefore he was able to accredit control of vesicle trafficking to the twenty three specific genes he later identified and classified in relationship to the location of the vesicle blocks. James Rothman discovered how vesicles are able to fuse with its target membrane when transporting molecules by a protein complex. Cleopatra s suicide implies that a touch of the East s character, the freedoms and fervour that are not signified in the play s notion of the West, cannot be listed by Caesar s victory. The play proposes that the East will survive on as a perceptible and invincible counterpart to the West, bound as inseparably and everlastingly as Antony and Cleopatra are in their mausoleum. As the play develops, Antony continues to occupy contradictory characteristics that play out the struggle between motive and feeling. The bible is full of memorable scenes, with thousands of years of art to capture the intensity of the stories. My Journey to The Sacrifice of Isaac by Peter Paul Rubens begin when I saw a painting at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art almost six years ago in a grand room, with tens of other paintings and high, echoing ceilings. I stood in front of a massive, Renaissance era piece. Without looking at the title or artist s statement, I knew it was of Abraham sacrificing Isaac. It had the iconic look of one of the most infamous stories from the bible. And when I remembered that painting, years later, I knew that would be the focus of this paper. So, with my painting in mind, I went to KSU online Hale Library ARTstor Abraham and Isaac . But there were too many paintings. And the majority of them looked the same. After clicking through about a dozen paintings from the Louvre, of Rembrandt and Domenichino and not finding the specific painting from my memory, I went to the Nelson Atkins website and then cross referenced with the list ARTstor was offering. The painting was Peter Paul Rubens The Sacrifice of Isaac and I can say, details get lost in memory. The painting, for the most part, kept with the scripture. Considering the scripture was bare bones when it came to description, that wasn t an impossible feat. The binding of Isaac was similar in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Cults In Research Paper There are close patterns of interaction among cult members, as well as retaliatory actions on the part of the host culture toward them all of which create an even more clearly defined religiously deviant subculture for cults. Cults leader is likely to be solitary, powerful, charismatic figure. Many characterize cults as lacking a formal organizational structure and as largely controlled in an authoritative manner by their leader. Cults are often defined and identified by the names of their leaders, at least in the popular media. Barnes and Becker said Charismatic domination is established through the extraordinary qualities of the leader. Law is not the source of authority; on the contrary, he or she proclaims new laws on the basis of revelation, oracular utterance, and inspiration. There is a fact that cults are in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Greil and Rudy have noted that many organizations are best conceived as parareligious or quasi religious because they have mixed characteristics, some of which are sacred and others secular. However, as novel forms of religious identity, cults are likely to be severely challenged by mainstream culture. Pfeifer found that the vast majority of college students in his sample described an average cult member only in negative terms; not a single student used positive terms. He divided them into three groups and had them to respond to one of the three vignettes describing three groups, but each was selected based upon popular notions of alleged authoritarian structures and near total environmental control of members, who are kept isolated for the wider society. The vignettes were identical except for the groups specified that were Marines, Moonies, or priests. The vignette described a typical recruit, Bill, at the relevant group facility. He said that when Bill was at the facility, he was not allowed very much contact with his friends or family and he was seldom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Essay On Alaska Budget and Economy in Alaska Located in the Northwest limit of the United States of America (USA), Alaska is the largest state of the US. Despite its big dimension, it is one of the least populated states due its cold weather. Most of Alaska s economy comes from its natural resources. The fishing, natural gas, and oil industries dominate it almost 85% of its budget comes from oil and gas revenues. Alaska also provides half of the nation s coal reserves, and has one of the largest silver and zinc mines. However, most of its resources are undeveloped due to its remote location and lack of infrastructure as mentioned in the ground truth trekking website. Many regulations and measures have been passed to reduce pollution and control the use of natural resources nationally as well as internationally. Most of the states and countries are also concerned about the emission of carbon. Producing oil is also becoming less and less expensive thus making less appealing to produce oil in Alaska where building a drill is more expensive. In addition, the ongoing increase of the electric and more fuel efficient cars demand has a major impact on the oil industry. This will result in a decrease of oil price and its demand. The best alternative for Alaska will be to diversify its source of income and not just heavily depend on oil money. Since Alaska is donated with many natural resources, Alaska can take advantage of it to develop its economy. Firstly, Alaska can shift its focus from oil and gas to coal. About 30% of the US coal is in Alaska. However, most of the coal is in the Arctic Circle and therefore hard to access. If Alaska invest in power plants and in innovating technology that will allow to safely dig for coal in the far North, Alaska will considerably increase its revenues given the high demand of coal here and all over the world. Alaska will also have to do a research to effectively localize al the coal available in the state and the best to get to it. It also must comply to the state regulations as well as ... Preface As I have studied a M.Sc. in EU Business Law, I found it ideal to find a topic that would encompass both European business matters as well as aspects of EU law. The European airline industry suits this choice of topic very well as it is a business operating largely across European borders, but it has also been the center of a substantial amount of EU legislation through the deregulation of the industry and the abandonment of state aid for national carriers. This has contributed to great changes in the dynamics and structure of the European airline industry, which I find fascinating and have therefore chosen to analyse this development in more detail through ... • 48. Scout Finch Symbolism Essay Although the story is seen through a child s perspective, it includes multiple instances of symbolism. The story s main character is Scout Finch who is a child that is living through the 1930 s full of racism. It is about a man who is an attorney that struggles to prove a black man s innocence and fights to keep his children safe. Harper Lee s ¨To Kill a Mockingbird¨ is a book with several examples of symbolism, including Atticus symbolized as a mockingbird. Atticus is so selfless that he can feel compassion for even Bob Ewell. For example, Jem, see if you can stand in Bob Ewell s shoes a minute. I destroyed his last shred of credibility at that trial, if he had any to begin with. The man had to have some kind of comeback, his kind always ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, You might hear some ugly talk about it at school, but do one thing for me if you will: you just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don t you let em get your goat. Try fighting with your head for a change. By telling Scout to fight with her head, Atticus is showing her how she can fight without getting in trouble, rather than resorting to using her fists and getting in trouble for her actions. He is also trying to teach Scout to control her temper and not let others get the better of her by making her angry. Atticus believes that everyone should be equal and that it isn t fair for black people to get treated unfairly in court. Harper Lee explains this by adding, Our courts have their faults, as does any human institution, but in this country our courts are the great levellers, and in our courts all men are created equal. Here, Atticus is describing the principles of blind justice and equality under the law. Courts should decide cases objectively without favoring any race or gender, for example. The one place where a man ought to get a square deal is in a courtroom, be he any color of the rainbow, but people have a way of carrying their resentments right into a jury box. This shows that atticus believes that everyone should have equal rights especially in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Society s Fate in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley Society s Fate It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity (Albert Einstein). Although the future remains difficult to predict, some ideas develop the undeniable fate of society. Throughout Brave New World, Aldous Huxley explains predictions for the future of society. The story begins by introducing Bernard Marx and his discovery of John, and his mother Linda on the reservation. This unfolds into John realizing the degree to which society has stripped their humanity. The emotionless society that Huxley displays depicts the nearing future of society. Although the future will introduce many useful tools for society, the damage done to society and personality is inevitable. Huxley s predictions about the future focus mainly on the dealing with suffering, questioning true freedom, and perversion of spirituality. Humanity deals with suffering in many ways, and many reveal damaging side effects. Just as in today s world, suffering in many cases leads to abuse of alcohol and drugs. More specifically in Brave New World soma offers all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects (Huxley 54). Although soma lacks the apparent side effects of drugs and alcohol, if analyzed properly soma only offers advantages to the authority controlling the people due to the ability of numbing society. Also, Huxley utilizes the comparison to Christianity and alcohol displaying irony due to the fact that Christianity involves the soul ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
