Sick Leave Research Paper
Introduction Sick leave whether it is paid or unpaid is time off from work that employees can use to
stay home to attend to their health needs or the health needs of immediate family members. Labor law
in the United States currently doesn t require employers to provide paid sick days in the short term nor
does it require employers to offer longer term paid sick leave for more serious illnesses. Furthermore,
the current law doesn t protect workers from termination should they miss work due to sickness
(Heymann, J., Rho, H., Schmitt, J., Earl, A, 2009). In collective bargaining, however, unions can
negotiate additional protections regarding sick leave, which may include short and long term disability
coverage as well as generous attendance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Is Technology Presented In The Veldt
Technology is a thief because it steals our minds. Things like smartphones can be burdens at times.
Sometimes, I go to restaurants or other places and I see two people together. Instead of socializing,
they re just looking at their phones. Some technologies just make you completely oblivious to the
outside world. Both authors use their thoughts about how is technology can make you completely
oblivious to the mother nature in both of their literature. The Veldt by Ray Bradbury s and a short
poem Touchscreen by Marshall Davis Jones. In The Veldt , the technology is taking over the children s
mind just like a drug takes over your brain, children are mentioning technology as their parents. In the
Touchscreen , the talker expresses his feelings about the how technology is becoming a needs in our

Corporate Overview Of The Automotive Industry
Corporate Overview
Automotive Industry
The automotive industry is widespread globally with a wide range of organizations involved in the
following: development, marketing, manufacturing, designing, and sales. This analysis will take a
further look at automakers in the industry, more specifically General Motors (GM), Volkswagen
(VLKAY, Honda, Nissan, Toyota. Beginning around the 1890s, the automotive industry has evolved
and undergone shift changes in consumer trends, product development, marketing, and industry
competition shifts. Some of the major changes have been the result of: Regulatory, Safety, Economy,

The business cycle for the Automotive Industry is filled with long product cycles and large sums of
capital investments. The long cycles of products and the large capital requirements make planning in
the automotive industry quite complex. Furthermore, the automotive industry outcomes are highly
dependent on the global economic state. For example, as mentioned in a PWC article, In 2015,
[Automotive industry results] turned sour as global economic conditions worsened. This trend makes
any new commitment to invest in a country or region a risky one that must be deliberately crafted
using a clear eyed assessment of market conditions. (Jullens, Singh, Hirsh, Wilk, 2016) Thus, from the
business cycle, it can be presumed that the automotive industry is foremost a growth industry but at a
secondary level it is a cyclical growth, making it a Cyclical Growth Industry.
Potentials for the automotive industry are more prominent in eco friendly initiatives and technological
improvements for vehicular automation. For example, Tesla has been a company that has really sought
to revolutionize the automotive industry by introducing cars that are more environmentally friendly.
Furthermore, as mentioned, in a PWC article, the intelligent car is fast moving from the drawing
boards to the streets (Jullens, Singh, Hirsh, Wilk, 2016). This intelligent car, while

Essay about The Art of War in the 17th and 18th Centuries
The Art of War in the 17th and 18th Centuries
The Art of War in the 17th and 18th Centuries is a history course book whose author s are United
States Military Academy history instructors Lieutenant Colonel Dave Richard Palmer and Major
Albert Sidney Britt III. The textbook gives an insight into the military tactics and the political reasons
when they were brought about in the 17th and 18th centuries. The text was published in West Point,
New York in 1969. The book contains 9 chapters and 185 pages. There is no additional information on
the authors. The book starts with the tactics and life of the young Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus,
who began his military career at the age of 16 on the battlefields of the Danish War of 1612, ... Show

Upon landing on the German shore of Peenemunde, I wonder if Adolphus realized that one day his
ingenious and revolutionary theories would some three centuries later influence the German scientists
developing the modern day rocket at Peenemunde. After Gustavus Adolphus death, warfare settled
down to a slower pace and a more stable mold. Warfare experienced the growth of professional armies
loyal to the king. But the great cost of building and maintaining such armies led to a concern for their
safety, a hesitation to risk them in bloody encounters, and a preoccupation with defense and
fortifications. Strategy during this period was essentially of limited aim and was greatly concerned
with the art of siege craft, for which elaborate rules were prescribed. With the growth of professional
armies loyal to their kings, came Louis XIV, King of France. Unlike Gustavus, who wrung victories
from tactical innovations, Louis sought military efficiency through extreme centralization. This
approach, brought forth great results at first, but would eventually become a self defeating theory. It is
roughly accurate to say that every aspect of the Sun King s army was centralized in the war ministry,
which was headed by a civilian loyal to, and working directly for, the King.

The Collection That I Am A Building Essay
The collection that I am going to be building will be focusing on children s books that feature racially
diverse main characters and or themes. The focus of this collection proposal is to bring books with
diverse characters onto the shelves and make them easily accessible and visible to young children and
families. I was provided with an allocated 5,000 dollars Canadian to spend on this special collection.
My initial goal was to select books with people of colour as the main characters exclusively. The issue
with this plan is there are lots of books about African Canadian children but not very many about
Indigenous children. Due to this, I expanded my search criteria to include books featuring diverse
characters where there were also people of colour featured as secondary characters. By expanding my
search, I was able to feature more racially diverse characters. The first step in my selection process
was searching online for lists of books published by organizations, schools and blogs that featured
racially diverse main characters. I used Amazon extensively once I had found titles of interest.
Amazon provided me with the ISBN numbers to search as specifically as possible and offered similar
title suggestions. I cross referenced the titles through the Halifax Public Libraries Discover Catalog to
see if they were already owned. My goal was to select new titles so I was not building a collection that
already existed somewhere else. I paid particular attention to books

Healthcare For All Veterans Essay
One of the most serious problems facing all veterans today is the lack of proper healthcare. Soldiers,
sailors and airmen are leaving active duty without having proper healthcare to cover their physical or
mental injuries. The department responsible for veteran s healthcare is the Department of Veterans
Affairs. (VA) According to The department of Veterans Affairs website, The United States Department
of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government run military veteran benefit system with Cabinet level status.
It is responsible for administering programs of veterans benefits for veterans, their families, and
survivors. The benefits provided include disability compensation, pension, education, home loans, life
insurance, vocational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal of the V.A. is to provide quality and timely service to all veterans. The current budget deficit
has made it increasingly difficult for the V.A. to provide the aforementioned services to the veterans.
According to Thomas B. Edsall, in his article about veteran healthcare, Clinics are shutting down, and
appointments delayed (Edsall 1). In both its old and new forms, the VA drew its mission statement
from an extract of President Abraham Lincoln s second inaugural address: to care for him who shall
have borne the battle, and for his widow and his orphan (V.A.) this means that the VA s ultimate
purpose is to take care of veterans.
Current funding for veteran healthcare care is low and insufficient because of the large number of
veterans, who are being discharged from the military as the country transitions to a democratic
President. According to Dr. Rachel Nardin in her article about veteran healthcare, Soldiers get
excellent acute care when injured on active duty, but as revelations of poor conditions for soldiers
receiving ongoing outpatient care at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center highlighted, service
members often have trouble getting the care they need once active duty ends (Nardin 1)
Funding is the first hurdle that has to be overcome in order for all veterans to receive proper
healthcare. The nation is not spending enough money on veteran healthcare programs. Our fighting

Jones released a documentary investigating his creative process. The documentary was released on
November 10, 2011 by directors Bob Hercules of Media Process Group and Gordon Quinn of
Kartemquin Films, on PBS as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival. The most salient aspect of this film is
witnessing Jones tackle social issues as a testament to his profound creative process during his
production of A Good Man. The good man is an epithet for the great emancipator, Abraham Lincoln,
to commemorate his transactions during the Civil Rights Movement. Jones conveys his unconditional
love for Lincoln. He addresses that Lincoln was the only white individual he was allowed to love as a
youth. His unconditional love for Lincoln is justifiable by Lincoln s determination to put an end to the
immoral and discriminatory castigation of the minorities and empathizing with those who were
unethically victimized for their behaviors (Jones, 2010). The image on the right shows the actors and
dancers performing live in Fondly Do We Hope...Fervently Do We Pray, a piece broadcasted in A
Good Man in 2010. As observed, Jones manipulated his choreography through space to capture the
bodily movements at different the levels; some dancers dwelling on the ground, while others
accentuating the verticality of their bodies in an up right manner. This

Essay On Stereotypes Of Boys
Many things and many problems appear to all people in all ages but when we say boys we talk about
our future and the main treasure, and here we talk about boys will be boys which refer to one thing.
we should treat boys according to their ages. Some boys find themselves depressed and want to
commit crimes, why? this is a result of not being able to live their childhood in societies which treat
them differently from girls. They are oppressed to act like real men not real boys; Subsequently we
find them hiding their emotions, lying to themselves and keeping silent. There are roles for family,
school and community to get rid off all the oppressive stereotypes associated with boys so we can
discover their merits and demerits. As one s family is usually closer, families should start by treating
boys with more kindness. Schools should recognise their abilities and communities should facilitates

They then start feeling isolated. This isolation evolves to depression. Depressed boys can commit
crimes, do strange acts, and rebel against all people whom they believe have wronged them.
Especially their parents.
Solutions:
The point here is how we can treat boys better. At first, we should acknowledge their needs, let them
express themselves, and we should let them live their ages. They can cry, they can love, and they can
hate. Schools should take extra steps in student care. Starting with its teachers, Teachers should
interact with boys and keep an eye on them if they showed aggression or violence. And if a boy
misbehaved, communication is key. The boy s family should be informed and a follow up from the
school is obligatory. Also communities should establish programs about how to communicate with
boys in different

The Grapes Of Wrath By John Steinbeck And The Grapes Of Wrath
The novels The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and Under the Feet of Jesus by Helena Maria
Viramontes both explore the plight of migrant farmers in California. Steinbeck tells the story of white
migrant workers during the Great Depression and Viramontes tells the story of Mexican migrant
workers. The novels deconstruct the perceived California dream in which great wealth can be
achieved through hard work by recounting the plights of migrant workers who recognize the illusion
and take action against it. Steinbeck s novel portrays the plight of the Joad family, natives of
Oklahoma. The Joads, a family of dispossessed farmers, travel to California searching for work after
the forces of large scale banking capitalism remove them from their land. They chase the promise of a
new beginning and the opportunity to find wealth because of the California dream. Steinbeck narrates
the journey of an underclass family achieving the Marxist construction of class consciousness. Class
conflict between wage slaves and the owners of the means of production, social alienation through the
separation of labor and profit, and dehumanization of workers through the mass commodification of
labor all appear in the novel. Class consciousness defines the novel and is the method by which the
Joad family is able to rise against the bourgeois and capitalism. The Joads are a member of the
proletariat and must work as laborers who are, according to Karl Marx, A class of labourers, who live

collaboration, giving sales and marketing executives a direct pipeline to engineers so products are

The printing and imaging business is the company s crown jewel. As HP becomes more heavily reliant

There have been at least two school shootings a month in 2015. Of the 52 shootings, 21 have been at
colleges and universities, 15 at high schools, three at middle schools, 10 at elementary schools, two at
preschools, and one on a school bus (52 School Shootings 1). With all these school shootings, why
wouldn t you want to carry a gun? Guns can protect people. If a shooter confronts a person and they
see that person is armed they might think twice about what they are doing. Shouldn t you feel some

Fernandez claims that, Supporters say it will make college campuses safer by not preventing licensed
gun owners from defending themselves and possibly saving lives should a mass shooting occur, such
as the one that unfolded at Virginia Tech University in 2007 (Fernandez 1). If someone wants to
protect themselves why would you want to stop them? If they are trained and responsible and could
possibly save lives would you want to be the person to stop them and say no? For example, say a
student sees a problem going on in the parking lot of the campus. And the student knows they can stop
it because they have a weapon in their car. The student can then grab the gun and try to stop the
problem before it gets out of hand. Your car is an extension of your home. This provides safety for
college campuses because they know that the students and teachers carrying those weapons are
responsible and trained and can possibly save lives if a shooting were to occur there.
Out of all of the school shootings that happen a year, there are at least two a month. School shootings
can happen anywhere at any time, like preschools, high schools, elementarys. This is why teachers and
students should carry concealed weapons. Teachers and students should be able to carry weapons
because it is a way for self defense, protection, and safety. As can be seen, teachers and students

Confucius And Confucianism
Confucius s philosophical teachings about government and society discussed in the Analects revolve
around morality and how a ruler and his people should act in order to stabilize society. Confucius
looked to the past to discuss the problems of the present by modeling his teachings from the former
Zhou empire. Confucius sought to bring back the Zhou traditions in order to better society. By linking
moral behaviors to social roles and hierarchies, he emphasized that the stability of the government and
society was directly correlated to the relationship between the ruler and the people. With the title Son
of Heaven, the ruler was expected to act morally towards his subjects and treat them with love and
concern ( Introduction to Confucian Thought , 2009). This idea is directly related to the concept of
ren, which discusses the well being of others as the moral drive of society. He extended this idea into
social harmony, being first and foremost embedded in the family. Confucius believed that the virtue of
filial piety was the foundation for not just family life but also had implication for the ruler subject
bond ( Mencius and his development of Confucian teachings , n.d.). Similarly, Mencius centered his
teachings on this idea by stressing that the well being of the family directly corresponded to the well
being of the state. Most importantly however, Confucius also discussed the importance of the ruler
ruling over the people with virtue, which was achieved through ritual

personnel are treated medically. In this literature review and final paper the topic will be still on that of
a barrier between these two groups of people but more in the treatment and adherence to laws. By
looking at literature directly involved with the film A Few Good Men and with topics surrounding the
themes of the film I am able to show the barrier between the military and the everyday citizens. In the
five articles addressed, there are multiple major themes or ideas that help us to understand the
differences, or lack there or, between the different sides. I intend to use ideological criticism and
cluster criticism in order to analyze the film A Few Good Men, but before this it is important to
understand what these two methods are, and how they are able to work together to show the
differences between the people of the military and the people of the country they fight for. In the
description of these methods I will show the origin of the methods, some assumption and a relevant
definition of each to gain understanding. By understanding the methods I will then look at how they
are actually used and how that will help my analysis in the long run. Finally I will describe why my
methods are important and why they are relevant to this study, not only this but it is

Flight Essay
You guys will never believe what happened to me on my flight. You know what a grumpy flier I am,
too, so you ll all find this super entertaining, I m sure.
I m sitting on my plane from Hartford to New Orleans. I have an aisle seat, of course, and I m hoping
it s not a full flight.
Yeah, right.
It s practically standing room only, and I can feel the plane getting warmer as passengers pack in like
sardines. There are few things worse than being trapped in a metal container with 200 of your closest
sweaty friends. A splitting headache and a spoiled appetite means I m about as warm and pleasant as a
female anglerfish.
A father walks up the aisle with a kid who looks to be about three. I can tell the kid s going to be

Oh, yes. Awesome. Super. We ve got a talker. An oblivious talker. Someone give this guy a
megaphone so everyone can hear him talking. No one shall be spared.
New Orleans, I say with almost a maniacal smile this time, flicking my head in his direction
dramatically, then back down just as quickly this time without removing my earbuds.
Oh, I ve been there! Now he s going to proceed to tell me why he was there, who he knows there,
what they did there, what they ate, how they were feeling, what shoes he was wearing. Then he s
going to ask why I m going there. He s going to be surprised when I tell him I m from there and ask
why I left and how I chose my college and what I studied and what I do now and how I m liking it and
all the polite conversation you re supposed to make with a plane passenger who does not have

My left eye twitches. The kid...I d almost forgotten about the kid. She wriggles out of her seatbelt and
rests her sticky little face on Dad s shoulder before saying again, this time louder and in his ear (just in

Australian Health Care Services For Indigenous Australians
INTRODUCTION
It has been observed that Indigenous Australians face deprivation to a range of services including
primary health care, due to various factors such as cultural barrier, environmental factors and racism.
As a result, there was increase in the rate of obesity, overweight, chronic diseases and mortality rate.
However, Australian governments have introduced programs that increase the availability of services
to rural and remote areas but still Indigenous Australian s health needs urgent consideration.
Therefore, it should be prioritized by the Australian government to provide all the primary health care
services to indigenous Australians without any discrimination.
DISCUSSION
PART 1
There are various politico economic elements and policies; environmental and employment
conditions; social and cultural influences and lifestyle of indigenous Australians which affect their
health. Above all, there is poverty which contributes towards their poor health circumstances
(Australian Indigenous Health InfoNet, 2014). The Indigenous Australians are powerless and
generally face various kinds of deprivation that includes exclusion, material deprivation and
unavailability of opportunities for study and employment. They are not capable enough to take part in
society: socially, politically and culturally (Public Health Association of Australia, 2001). It is a
general concept that when a person does not feel secure, is unemployed, not connected to his/her
friends

The Ozone Threat: Managing with Uncertainty
The ozone layer serves as protection of the Earth from the sun s harmful ultraviolet rays. Over a span
of decades it has been found out and continuously theorized that the said layer is thinning or depleting.
This depletion is speculated by scientific experts to have negative effects to human beings and most
importantly to the environment.
Studies have been done regarding the possible negative effects of the depletion of the ozone layer.
First, it was said that a small 5% decrease in the ozone would probably produce thousands of new
cases of skin cancer every year. Second, solar radiation can damage the planktons in the oceans which
provide the world its oxygen supply. Apart from that, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, the new report issued another concern which is the growing concentrations of atmospheric carbon
dioxide and its impact on the atmosphere or what has been called the greenhouse effect.
In 1985, 21 nations including the US met and agreed to cooperate in atmospheric research and the
monitoring of ozone levels. Eventually, no agreement on restricting the use of CFCs was reached
because some nations refused to abide. In the same year, a scientist reported that a giant hole in the
ozone layer over the Antarctic has been developing. It was shortly confirmed after satellite
observations saw the presence of the said hole. It was the first clear direct evidence that the ozone
layer was breaking down at a very high rate. Observations in October 1985 indicated a 50% loss of the
ozone over the Arctic region. Though despite this finding, DuPont continued its expansion of CFC
production in Japan. Apart from DuPont, Allied Signal, the second largest producer was reported to be
planning to increase their CFC sales.
In 1986, leaders of the CFC industry started to change their positions. The Alliance for Responsible
CFC Policy supported a reasonable global limit on the future rate of growth of CFC production.
DuPont also stated that its position was to be prudent to take precautionary measures to limit CFC
growth worldwide. However, DuPont and other US producers lobbied against any federal legislation
that would limit CFC production unless there were

The policy of most governments toward bilingualism in the home is and long has been one of neglect.
A few countries actively encourage it, especially if the quot;second quot; (non community) language is
the more important language in the country or in the world, or if the quot;minority quot; (community)
language is the language of a group given special consideration under the law. Many countries, which

and politics. However, we could find castles full of research and still very little is being done in public

Essay The Memorable Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet
The Memorable Mercutio Shakespeare created many incredible plays during his lifetime: tragedies,
comedies and histories. One of Shakespeare s most famous plays is the tragedy Romeo and Juliet.
Furthermore, one of his greatest creations, as well as most memorable character, lies within the pages
of this tale. Although he died early on, Mercutio spent his time entertaining the audience with every
act and word. Throughout Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio displays notable acts of witty humor, loyalty
and devotion to Romeo, as well as hot headed rash behavior, which stick with the reader, even after
his death. Whether it is crude humor or a witty remark, Mercutio amuses readers over the course of the
play. Towards the beginning of the play, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the play, Mercutio stood out due to his vast contrast to the constant melancholy tone, which
leaves a much larger impression on readers.
Although there are times where Mercutio mocks Romeo s love, Mercutio is still incredibly dutiful to
his friend on several occasions. Before Romeo meets Juliet, he is a rather gloomy fellow that is
partaking in an unrequited love. Even though Mercutio is not the best at showing sympathy, like his
friend Benvolio, Mercutio still wishes to try and cheer up Romeo. The friends first idea is to take
Romeo to a Capulet party, hoping the energetic atmosphere will improve his mood. On the way there,
Romeo states that he doesn t feel like dancing, which leads to Mercutio saying, in all seriousness, Nay,
gentle Romeo, we must have you dance (1.4 13). Mercutio really is concerned about Romeo s well
being and wants him to dance and enjoy the party. The discussion continues with Romeo saying his
shoes are made of lead due to his sorrowful love, but Mercutio retorts that, You are a lover; borrow
Cupid s wings, And soar with them above a common bound (1.4 17 18). At this point, Mercutio is
looking for anything that can cheer Romeo up, which can be difficult for Mercutio, seeing that they
often have rather different opinion of love. Much later into this tale, Tybalt, one of the enemy family s
members, wishes to fight Romeo, but Romeo refuses. Mercutio, not fully understanding Romeo s

been increasing in frequency among the elderly and many are calling it type 3 diabetes. And scientists
have noticed a link between the diet and the probability to get dementia (Pizzorno, 3 9).
Dementia is a neurodegenerative disease most common in senior citizens over the age of sixty five
and mot often the symptoms are forgetfulness, issues recalling personal history, and self care. It is
caused by an accumulation of neurofribrillary and amyloid beta. Amyloid beta is a fragment of protein
that wasn t broken down and built up and disrupted transmissions between neurons, causing memory
loss (Pizzorno, 3 9) As your brain produces insulin diabetes speeds up plaque production in the brain,
causing a disruption in the signaling of insulin production, which causes the memory loss. Because
insulin helps the memory, those with diabetes have a sixty five higher probability of getting dementia.
Fructose rich diets cause insulin production to skyrocket; consequently constant high levels of insulin
cause the brain to block the signals (Mercola). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The life of Malcolm X, who was murdered forty years ago this month, spanned a trajectory from

political and historical insight which, combined with his tools of persuasion and skills at leadership,

A Day At The Touro Synagogue
On Saturday morning, October 15th, 2016, my friends and I visited the Touro Synagogue. We attended
a synagogue Sabbath worship which took place for less than two hours. I was really excited and eager
because I have never experienced any ritual service before. As I first entered the small chapel, I was
struck by the beautiful, magnificent architecture of the place. It was a clean, warm place with a nice
chandelier. The upper wall is covered with glass windows that help light up the small chapel and bring
a refreshing feeling. We were given directions to obtain the service books on the shelves outside
before the ritual service began. As I went further inside the chapel, a lady greeted me with the phrase
Shabbat shalom. All the people there were friendly and greeted us with smiles. I noticed some men
wore their Kippot and Tallitot. We had some small introductions and conversations. After getting
service books, my friends and I sat in the back row of the chapel. The place was quiet with a sense of
peace and contentment. A few minutes after, the Rabbi and the Cantor came in, and the Sabbath
service began.
As this Sabbath service was my first experience, I was curious about every little thing that happens.
During the Sabbath service, the Rabbi gave us directions to follow hymn pages in the service book.

Gianlorenzo Bernini s The Ecstasy Of Saint Teresa
The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa is an architecture of the Baroque period in which light was used to convey
spiritual meaning upon this sculpture. It was sculpted from 1647 52 by Gianlorenzo Bernini for the
Santa Maria della Vittoria, in Rome, Italy. This architectural piece is made out of marble. One way
that the sculpture uses light to convey spiritual meaning is through the allegorical depiction of a dove
in the background, which represents the light of the Holy Ghost. Another way that the sculpture
conveys spiritual meaning by using light in the content is through the gilded stucco rays that surround
the angel and Teresa. The artist, Gianlorenzo Bernini, used the structure of the church to provide light

The Vietnam War And Its Effects On America
Riding on the democratic stallion of equality with triumphant fervor from World War II, the United
States of America prioritized the containment of communism as its foreign policy outlined by the
Truman Doctrine in 1947. The U.S eventually found itself in the middle of rising communist nations
in the Pacific and European theaters. In an increasingly expensive and hopeless effort to prevent
communist Ho Chi Minh unifying Vietnam under the red flag of the hammer and sickle, America
officially sent troops to the Southeast Asian nation in 1965, though Congress never legitimately
declared war on Vietnam. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the ongoing Vietnam War had
substantial repercussions on the society and economy of America that resulted in a loss in global
authority. Economically, inflation became conspicuous because of a monetary imbalance of higher
exports compared to imports. Socially, soldiers were psychologically damaged from their experiences,
while citizens actively protested against the war with success. Because of higher amounts of
government expenditure, the Vietnam War had an enduring fiscal effect on America. The funding of
the war was accumulative throughout the course of almost twenty years; increase in troops meant
increase in supply exports. The economic effects were soon felt by the American masses and
contributed to anti war feelings. Industries were focused on producing war time goods rather than
consumer goods, while anti war sentiments and

The company needs to upgrade its computer equipment. There are two upgrade paths to consider. In

The Importance Of False Prophets
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed,
accurately handling the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15) A false teacher can be anyone in a position of
spiritual authority. Ever heard of wolves in sheep clothing? This idiom is used to describe those
playing a role contrary to their real character. Wolves don t often attack wolves, but they do go after
sheep. The same is so when it comes to false prophets they deceive people by bringing destructive
teachings, often appealing to our fallen nature.
By definition a false prophet is one who falsely claims the gift of prophecy or divine inspiration, or
who uses that gift for evil ends. Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in
the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out
that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs
ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the
teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do
not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work
(2 John 7 11). False prophets prophesied falsehoods From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for

The critically acclaimed and commercially successful film, Spiderman 2, was hailed as a landmark
film that illustrated the unfamiliar concept of a hero with an underlying humanity. Throughout the
film, Peter Parker demonstrates a remarkable, organic character that makes him and his alter ego,
Spiderman, accessible to a wide audience, allowing various age groups to easily identify and connect
with him. This action packed clip is no exception to the fundamental theme of the sequel to the 2002

Distinctively, an intriguing aspect of the clip lies in the fact that the protagonist does not undergo
much personal transformation, thus indicating the static and rather flat nature of the character.
Throughout the clip, Spiderman is simply portrayed as a hero attempting to perform his duty; he will
either save the train or fail to do so. In contrast, throughout the entire length of the clip, the secondary
characters the passengers undergo a rather radical transformation from being fearful, skeptical, and
mocking to a fiercely loyal and trusting group. These facets may be inferred from the only person
Spiderman directly communicates with during the entire ordeal: the train operator. Quite possibly, his
initial fear in the statement, Oh my God, this is it! reflects all of the passengers perspectives of their
present situation. When Spiderman initially fails to reduce the train s speed, this fear turns into
mocking skepticism as stated by the old man and is indicative of the group s thoughts: Any more
bright ideas? However, one can observe that the unbelieving operator is one of the first people to
prevent Peter Parker from falling into the city street below, an indication of a character change. The
gratefulness and trust that the passengers expressed can by observed by their symbolic gesture of
bearing the comatose hero on their arms in solemn jubilation and respectful silence. Perhaps their trust

The Rich And The Poor
Two nations between whom there is no intercourse and no sympathy; who are as ignorant of each
other s habits, thoughts, and feelings, as if they were dwellers in different zones, or inhabitants of
different planets.... The rich and the poor. Benjamin Disraeli, a former prime minister of Great Britain
during the Victorian Era, published these words in the novel Sybil, or The Two Nations as the central
definition of the island nation during the Victorian Age. This description having prevailed during the
era does little to address the multifaceted social structures encountered during this time. This essay
will examine that while the labeling of the Victorian rich and poor as Two Nations is too vague, it is
often ambiguous as well.
While there were some definitive social boundaries between the richest and the poorest in Victorian
society, the economics of the time significantly diluted some of these boundaries. The jobs that some
of the working poor of Victorian London held had to be in tandem with the late spring and early
summer social season and again in the fall with the opening of Parliament (Ross 45). This seasonal
shift in the availability of work for the poor is directly related to the calendar, which the upper class
abided by. This synchronicity is an example of the dynamic involvement that these classes had one
another. Without the poor of Great Britain to wait upon them, to dress them, and to even feed them,
the upper class as well as the upper middle class

Essay On Cherokee Indian Removal
Two out of three people are discriminated everyday. Giving someone equal rights does not infringe or
take away rights from them, it just makes it illegal to enforce your prejudice and hate. British
statesman and philosopher Edmund Burke once said, Those who don t know history are destined to
repeat it. He also said, All that s necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good
men to do nothing. During the Cherokee Indian Removal, the Cherokee Indians were forced to be
removed by the U.S. troops because of discovery of gold leading them to be removed, and
discrimination towards the Cherokees. First the U.S. troops wanted to remove all Cherokees because
of the discovery of gold. In this situation, the Cherokees had valuable land that could be used for
farming. This would benefit the White Americans in a way to sell goods. Later, the White Americans
had found gold on Cherokee Territory, making it another reason why Andrew Jackson, wanted to
remove the Cherokees. Gold was so rare at the time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The White Americans would reject the Native Americans, by the reason of being greedy, burning their
houses and all their belongings (Zwoniter 2009). Although, John Ross, had asked the U.S. Supreme to
intervene on the Indian Removal Act, but the U.S. Supreme didn t do so. Until a year later the
Supreme Court had declared that Georgia, had violated the Cherokee Nation. However President
Jackson refuse to enforce the decision pressuring the Cherokees to leave (Thomas 2011). The Native
Americans, were divided between those who wanted to resist the Indian Removal Act, and a Treaty
Party for those who wanted to surrender and abandon the west. John Ridge, and Elias Boudinot,
signed a Treaty without the authority of Chief Ross, requiring the Cherokee Nation to exchange their
land for a load in the Indian Territory and relocate there in a period of two years. (Theda, and Green

Unnecessary Stigm Bdsm Relationships
Unnecessary Stigma: BDSM Relationships
With the rise of books like Fifty Shades of Grey, there are many questions being asked about what the
real effects of BDSM (bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism
(sadomasochism)) relationships are on participants (Turley et al 123, McDonald). There s the question
of where the boundary between abuse and recreational play is drawn, where the psychological
implications of the relationship becomes too much for the individual, but all of that can be boiled
down to just a few points to explore. In order to really understand what all comes with these
relationships, we must look at the experiences of participants, seeking to understand what BDSM is,
and what it means. We must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Black gives them to us: SSC, or Safe, Sane, Consensual, and RACK, or Risk Aware Consensual Kink.
The latter really becomes important when individuals engage in play that involves things like drugs,
where the risks can be considered no longer safe for SSC to apply (Black). Once the understanding of
limits, both soft and hard, has been reached, and the participants have given consent, play like that
between Tom and Joe can begin. As Stear points out, the scenes that are engaged in are a form of make
believe, one that gets very involved with the body, pleasure, and possibly even pain, but they are a
fantasy nonetheless (29). Tom isn t actually a puppy, but pretending to be, getting so lost in the
headspace that, for a time, he experiences the world as if he were a puppy, giving him a break from the
stresses of human life (Turley et al 130). It is with this understanding of what the scenes are made of,
along with what they are built upon, that we can begin to focus on what BDSM is for an individual.
These relationships go beyond many other types in requiring participants to trust each other enough to
give up or receive some kind of power in relation to the other. Even when the dominant/submissive
dynamic isn t as revalent, there is a level of trust and communication that is

Socialization Reflection
Our views and behavior depend to some degree on our social location in society our gender, race,
social class, religion, and so forth. (Barkan, 2013). As I have grown up and my perspective of the
world has broadened I have realized how narrow my views were. I grew up in Germany, Italy, and
Hungary before moving to the USA, but because I was so sheltered I really didn t know what was
really happening in society. As I grew older I have come to realize the socialization process did help
me develop my values, beliefs, morals, my religious outlook, my political affiliations and what not.
A1 Socialization Paper
As a baby we aren t born with culture. The people who are responsible for our socialization are our
parents and others who we might associate with...teachers, friends, etc. As a very small child we learn
about the culture we were born in as well as our gender roles. Depending on some cultures women for
example are taught that they will be homemakers and do a large share of work. In my culture I learned
my future role which would be a daughter, friend, sister, a wife in the future possibly, and then maybe
a mother. This is also the time we learn what society expects of us; the norms per say. This is also the
time in our lives that our personality forms. While our personality has much to do with our upbringing
and genes it also is created by the culture we are in. Research in geographical sciences has shown
regional variation on a number of indicators including public

The Censorsion Of The Consequences Of Teenage Abortion
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Teenagers have no idea of the consequences of having an
abortion, especially at a young age. Teen abortion should not be allowed because young girls do not
understand abortion causes health risks and mental anxiety.
There has been an increase on teen abortion. About 91,000 out of 1.3 million abortions were
performed on 18 year old girls and under (Lee and Bourassa). Some teenagers begin to live in the fear
of their parents that makes them think they have no other way out. Although parents have the right to
know about the consequences that their daughter is about to go through. Thirty six states have a law
that requires to have teenage girls to notify their parents, prior to an abortion.

The percentage of having mental issues have increased. Those who have had abortion, 42% had
experienced depression at some stage, almost double the rate of those who had not been pregnant and
third higher than those who continued with their pregnancies (Norris). Teens are more to be pressured
by their parents or by the baby s father which could lead to a higher risk of having a mental health
problem. One in ten of all mental health problems is a result of abortion,
In the understanding of teen abortion, many teenage girls have no idea of the health risks and mental
anxiety that may occur. Millions of teenagers think abortion is the easy way out, but could have
double the risks in their health. They have more of a possibility of suffering the most of an unwanted
pregnancy. Feeling depressed can cause death to a teenager who feels quilt as if they committed a
crime. Know that this process is painful, but also dangerous. When deciding of having an abortion

Essay about Particle Kinetics of Biological Aerosols...
At the beginning of the 20th century, the study of aerosols, suspensions of solid or liquid particles in a
gas, were the forefront of physical science because they represented the smallest observable division
of matter. In fact, aerosols contributed to the early understanding of Brownian motion and diffusion,
Millikan s measurement of electron charge, and Wilson s cloud chamber experiment for the study of
ionizing radiation. During the first half of the century, aerosol research continued, and grew important
after World War II and especially during the 1970s and 1980s, during which environmental awareness
and a concern for health effects arising from air pollution in community and occupational
environments, promoting the development of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also has commercial application if the manufacture of spray dried products, fiber optics, carbon
black, the production of pigments, and the application of pesticides. In addition, the chemical
properties of aerosols allow us to evaluate their capability to become airborne particulate hazards.
Biological aerosols, in particular, are bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other viable organisms, as well as
the products of these organisms, such as fungal spores or pollen. Studying these aerosols in particular
is important for the purpose of determining airborne threats and ensuring the safety of the population
inhabiting areas in which hazardous aerosol concentration is high. In addition, genetic or microscopic
analysis of biological aerosols also allows us to identify the hazardous particle, or discover new
hazardous biological threats in the air.
When particles are transported by air currents, changes in the direction of these currents give rise to
accelerating forces on the aerosol particles, and the spinning of air tends to move the aerosol away
from the axis of rotation, or rapid changes of airflow around an obstacle can results in aerosol particles
being deposited on a medium. This is one of the principle mechanisms by which particles are removed
by nature from the atmosphere. Sampling and collection devices such as impactors or impingers are
based on the use of such kinds of centrifugal forces.
The magnitude of the accelerating

Creating Social Connection
In the article Creating social connection through inferential reproduction: Loneliness and perceived
agency in gadgets, gods, and greyhounds by Epley, Akalis, Waytz Cacioppo the researchers conducted
three studies. The purpose of the studies were to examine if loneliness was significantly correlated
with the anthropomorphic mental state, if social disconnection increase belief in some religious agents
or actions, and whether the likelihood of attributing humanlike mental states or traits to pets would be
greater among people induced to feel social disconnection than among people not so induced.
Researchers made three hypotheses, one for each study. The first hypothesis was that loneliness was
significantly correlated with the anthropomorphic mental state ratings, the second hypothesis was that
participants in the disconnected condition reported stronger belief in supernatural agents than
participants in the other two conditions combined. The last hypothesis was that participants in the
disconnected condition were more likely to select one of the three social connection traits than were
participants in the other two conditions combined. After completing the methodology, it was ... Show

From the article by Epley, Akalis, Waytz Cacioppo, it can be concluded that there is a relationship to
fill the gap of human social connection. What did the lonely human do to humanize their pet? This
could help explain the relationship between the pet and human. Perhaps some participants are just
normal pet owners, and some take their pet t work, dress them up in human clothes and even read
them bedtime stories. Understanding this information will allow us to know how far a person is
willing to go to fill the gap. To expand even further upon the idea researchers could examine the cause
of loneliness and divide the participants into categories to draw research based

Operations Management refers to the management of the design, execution and control of operations
which then turns resources into tangible goods and / or services. Global sourcing is a major part of
operations management. Businesses should try to find the cost efficient location to manufacture their
goods. If manufacturing, delivery and wages of employees are cheaper in a certain country, operation
facilities should be located at the country to save money. Operations management is also in charge of

Upon landing on the German shore of Peenemunde, I wonder if Adolphus realized that one day his ingenious and revolutionary theories would some three centuries later influence the German scientists developing the modern day rocket at Peenemunde. After Gustavus Adolphus death, warfare settled down to a slower pace and a more stable mold. Warfare experienced the growth of professional armies loyal to the king. But the great cost of building and maintaining such armies led to a concern for their safety, a hesitation to risk them in bloody encounters, and a preoccupation with defense and fortifications. Strategy during this period was essentially of limited aim and was greatly concerned with the art of siege craft, for which elaborate rules were prescribed. With the growth of professional armies loyal to their kings, came Louis XIV, King of France. Unlike Gustavus, who wrung victories from tactical innovations, Louis sought military efficiency through extreme centralization. This approach, brought forth great results at first, but would eventually become a self defeating theory. It is roughly accurate to say that every aspect of the Sun King s army was centralized in the war ministry, which was headed by a civilian loyal to, and working directly for, the King. ... The focus of this collection proposal is to bring books with diverse characters onto the shelves and make them easily accessible and visible to young children and families. I was provided with an allocated 5,000 dollars Canadian to spend on this special collection. My initial goal was to select books with people of colour as the main characters exclusively. The issue with this plan is there are lots of books about African Canadian children but not very many about Indigenous children. Due to this, I expanded my search criteria to include books featuring diverse characters where there were also people of colour featured as secondary characters. By expanding my search, I was able to feature more racially diverse characters. The first step in my selection process was searching online for lists of books published by organizations, schools and blogs that featured racially diverse main characters. I used Amazon extensively once I had found titles of interest. Amazon provided me with the ISBN numbers to search as specifically as possible and offered similar title suggestions. I cross referenced the titles through the Halifax Public Libraries Discover Catalog to see if they were already owned. The novels deconstruct the perceived California dream in which great wealth can be achieved through hard work by recounting the plights of migrant workers who recognize the illusion and take action against it. Steinbeck s novel portrays the plight of the Joad family, natives of Oklahoma. • 18. Confucius And Confucianism Confucius s philosophical teachings about government and society discussed in the Analects revolve around morality and how a ruler and his people should act in order to stabilize society. Confucius looked to the past to discuss the problems of the present by modeling his teachings from the former Zhou empire. Confucius sought to bring back the Zhou traditions in order to better society. By linking moral behaviors to social roles and hierarchies, he emphasized that the stability of the government and society was directly correlated to the relationship between the ruler and the people. With the title Son of Heaven, the ruler was expected to act morally towards his subjects and treat them with love and concern ( Introduction to Confucian Thought , 2009). This idea is directly related to the concept of ren, which discusses the well being of others as the moral drive of society. He extended this idea into social harmony, being first and foremost embedded in the family. Confucius believed that the virtue of filial piety was the foundation for not just family life but also had implication for the ruler subject bond ( Mencius and his development of Confucian teachings , n.d.). It was shortly confirmed after satellite observations saw the presence of the said hole. It was the first clear direct evidence that the ozone layer was breaking down at a very high rate. Even though Mercutio is not the best at showing sympathy, like his friend Benvolio, Mercutio still wishes to try and cheer up Romeo. The friends first idea is to take Romeo to a Capulet party, hoping the energetic atmosphere will improve his mood. On the way there, Romeo states that he doesn t feel like dancing, which leads to Mercutio saying, in all seriousness, Nay, gentle Romeo, we must have you dance (1.4 13). Dementia is a neurodegenerative disease most common in senior citizens over the age of sixty five and mot often the symptoms are forgetfulness, issues recalling personal history, and self care. The Vietnam War And Its Effects On America Riding on the democratic stallion of equality with triumphant fervor from World War II, the United States of America prioritized the containment of communism as its foreign policy outlined by the Truman Doctrine in 1947. The U.S eventually found itself in the middle of rising communist nations in the Pacific and European theaters. In an increasingly expensive and hopeless effort to prevent communist Ho Chi Minh unifying Vietnam under the red flag of the hammer and sickle, America officially sent troops to the Southeast Asian nation in 1965, though Congress never legitimately declared war on Vietnam. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, the ongoing Vietnam War had substantial repercussions on the society and economy of America that resulted in a loss in global authority. Economically, inflation became conspicuous because of a monetary imbalance of higher exports compared to imports. Socially, soldiers were psychologically damaged from their experiences, while citizens actively protested against the war with success. Because of higher amounts of government expenditure, the Vietnam War had an enduring fiscal effect on America. The funding of the war was accumulative throughout the course of almost twenty years; increase in troops meant increase in supply exports. The rich and the poor. Benjamin Disraeli, a former prime minister of Great Britain during the Victorian Era, published these words in the novel Sybil, or The Two Nations as the central definition of the island nation during the Victorian Age. This description having prevailed during the era does little to address the multifaceted social structures encountered during this time. This essay will examine that while the labeling of the Victorian rich and poor as Two Nations is too vague, it is often ambiguous as well. While there were some definitive social boundaries between the richest and the poorest in Victorian society, the economics of the time significantly diluted some of these boundaries. The jobs that some of the working poor of Victorian London held had to be in tandem with the late spring and early summer social season and again in the fall with the opening of Parliament (Ross 45). This seasonal shift in the availability of work for the poor is directly related to the calendar, which the upper class abided by. • 43. Unnecessary Stigm Bdsm Relationships Unnecessary Stigma: BDSM Relationships With the rise of books like Fifty Shades of Grey, there are many questions being asked about what the real effects of BDSM (bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism (sadomasochism)) relationships are on participants (Turley et al 123, McDonald). There s the question of where the boundary between abuse and recreational play is drawn, where the psychological implications of the relationship becomes too much for the individual, but all of that can be boiled down to just a few points to explore. In order to really understand what all comes with these relationships, we must look at the experiences of participants, seeking to understand what BDSM is, and what it means. We must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Black gives them to us: SSC, or Safe, Sane, Consensual, and RACK, or Risk Aware Consensual Kink. The latter really becomes important when individuals engage in play that involves things like drugs, where the risks can be considered no longer safe for SSC to apply (Black). Once the understanding of limits, both soft and hard, has been reached, and the participants have given consent, play like that between Tom and Joe can begin. As Stear points out, the scenes that are engaged in are a form of make believe, one that gets very involved with the body, pleasure, and possibly even pain, but they are a fantasy nonetheless (29). Tom isn t actually a puppy, but pretending to be, getting so lost in the headspace that, for a time, he experiences the world as if he were a puppy, giving him a break from the stresses of human life (Turley et al 130). It is with this understanding of what the scenes are made of, along with what they are built upon, that we can begin to focus on what BDSM is for an individual. These relationships go beyond many other types in requiring participants to trust each other enough to give up or receive some kind of power in relation to the other. • 44. Socialization Reflection Our views and behavior depend to some degree on our social location in society our gender, race, social class, religion, and so forth. (Barkan, 2013). As I have grown up and my perspective of the world has broadened I have realized how narrow my views were. I grew up in Germany, Italy, and Hungary before moving to the USA, but because I was so sheltered I really didn t know what was really happening in society. As I grew older I have come to realize the socialization process did help me develop my values, beliefs, morals, my religious outlook, my political affiliations and what not. A1 Socialization Paper As a baby we aren t born with culture. The people who are responsible for our socialization are our parents and others who we might associate with...teachers, friends, etc. As a very small child we learn about the culture we were born in as well as our gender roles. Depending on some cultures women for example are taught that they will be homemakers and do a large share of work. In my culture I learned my future role which would be a daughter, friend, sister, a wife in the future possibly, and then maybe a mother. This is also the time we learn what society expects of us; the norms per say. This is also the time in our lives that our personality forms. While our personality has much to do with our upbringing and genes it also is created by the culture we are in. At the beginning of the 20th century, the study of aerosols, suspensions of solid or liquid particles in a gas, were the forefront of physical science because they represented the smallest observable division of matter. In fact, aerosols contributed to the early understanding of Brownian motion and diffusion, Millikan s measurement of electron charge, and Wilson s cloud chamber experiment for the study of ionizing radiation. During the first half of the century, aerosol research continued, and grew important after World War II and especially during the 1970s and 1980s, during which environmental awareness and a concern for health effects arising from air pollution in community and occupational environments, promoting the development of ... In addition, the chemical properties of aerosols allow us to evaluate their capability to become airborne particulate hazards. Biological aerosols, in particular, are bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other viable organisms, as well as the products of these organisms, such as fungal spores or pollen. Studying these aerosols in particular is important for the purpose of determining airborne threats and ensuring the safety of the population inhabiting areas in which hazardous aerosol concentration is high. In addition, genetic or microscopic analysis of biological aerosols also allows us to identify the hazardous particle, or discover new hazardous biological threats in the air. When particles are transported by air currents, changes in the direction of these currents give rise to accelerating forces on the aerosol particles, and the spinning of air tends to move the aerosol away from the axis of rotation, or rapid changes of airflow around an obstacle can results in aerosol particles being deposited on a medium. This is one of the principle mechanisms by which particles are removed by nature from the atmosphere. The purpose of the studies were to examine if loneliness was significantly correlated with the anthropomorphic mental state, if social disconnection increase belief in some religious agents or actions, and whether the likelihood of attributing humanlike mental states or traits to pets would be greater among people induced to feel social disconnection than among people not so induced. Researchers made three hypotheses, one for each study. The first hypothesis was that loneliness was significantly correlated with the anthropomorphic mental state ratings, the second hypothesis was that participants in the disconnected condition reported stronger belief in supernatural agents than participants in the other two conditions combined. The last hypothesis was that participants in the disconnected condition were more likely to select one of the three social connection traits than were participants in the other two conditions combined.
