The Innocent By Fredric Wertham
Introduction Comic books originated in the 1930s and superhero comics rose to popularity quickly
becoming the most prominent comic books within the first decade. The most popular original
superhero comics included Superman, Batman, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Wonder
Woman. Superman was originally published in 1938 and is considered to be the first of its kind,
the super powered protagonist, beginning the heroic genre. These comics grew to such popularity
so quickly that almost immediately they became adapted into shows and films. Supermanpaved the
way for numerous comic books to be adapted into movies and television shows. After World War
II, the popularity of the comics declined. The two reasons for the decline in... Show more content on

The Hearings that focused on comic books specifically were in order to prove that people like
Wertham were correct and could also testify their argument that comic books cause harm. The
hearings took place in New York where they would discuss horror comics and other comics in bad
taste that could only further its impact on youths becoming delinquents (Coville).
Both situations caused comic book distributors to take the stories off of the racks consequently
leading to a serious decline in sales and popularity. Superheroes have been created within a
completely different dimension of our own, thus creating its own form of language and allowing
the fans to exist within two dimensions at the same time.
The lack of popularity led the books to be uncommon which led to quite a stereotype: only nerds
read superhero comics. This stereotype impacted the language used within and about this
community. Originally, it was considered normal for people to converse about superheroes but,
after the popularity died down, it became nerdy for people to talk about and eventually they
developed their own conversation and own use of vocabulary that became unknown to people
outside of the community. Comic Con and Reddit are both forums that allow participants to enact
different identities by using different languages, behaviors, and ways of dressing and appearing.
Many outside of these forums will not understand the meanings behind their language or why they

Canadian Aviation History
Canada Takes Flight A balloon was the first means of manned flight in 1840 at Saint John, New
Brunswick. National and international politics, the national ambitions of Canada, technology, and
economics all played substantial factors in Canada s aviation industry from that time on. In 1909,
following the accomplishments of the Wright brothers, the test flights of Bell s Silver Dart put
aviation experiments in motion throughout Canada. The benefit of the use of military aircraft
during war times were a direct result of the development of Canada s experimental phase, and many
Canadians were members of the British Royal Flying Corps throughout World War 1.

Because of a lack of interest among Canadian politicians, there was not a substantial effort towards
the purchase of aircraft, construction of airfields or establishing funds for flight training. With only
three members, The Canadian Aviation Corps was created by Sir Sam Hughes in 1914. However,
they never flew a single combat mission and their only aircraft had been abandoned after only a
couple of months. Development of Technology The increase of technological advancement due to
the second world war took the Canadian industry into the vanguard of manufacturing aircraft. The
growth of commercial aviation combined with Canadian facilities and airspace provided the
training for over one hundred thousand Commonwealth airmen. During the second world war, the
British Commonwealth Air Training Program in Canada was responsible for training more than
130,000 aircrew members. Several of the BCATP facilities were used to both make improvements
and extend civilian aviation after the

Our Health Care Reform
On March 23, 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law. Along
with the Health Care and Reconciliation Act that was signed a week later these two bills became
known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Tacchino, 2012). This act has had a massive effect on
almost everyone in the healthcare industry. The cost associated with reimbursement from Medicaid,
medical coverage for individuals, and nursing practices has made many changes in the way
healthcare is delivered. With these transformations there will be an impact on the future of nursing
over the next 10 years and more.
Forces Driving Health Care Reform:
Legislative, Consumer, and Ethical Forces and New Models of Care President Theodore
Roosevelt first proposed reforming healthcare in 1912, with an effort to start universal healthcare.
This effort was again proposed by President Truman in 1949 in his State of the Union message.
Once again the effort was dismissed by the American Medical Association, fearing a loss in
physician revenue (Cleary Wilmoth, 2011). In 2010, President Obama signed the ACA bill which
has been under fire since its proposal. The ACA is supposed to expand the benefits of healthcare to
more than 32 million Americans with the requirement of all individuals to have some kind of health
insurance by 2014. These ideas had been circulating legislation for many years and Congress was
just waiting for the right type of legislative to pass the bill. Most democrats have pushed

Killer Whales Research Paper
Ocean giants that have captured the imagination of humans for centuries, whales are among the
largest mammals on earth. This diverse group of animals has over 75 separate species, and are
considered by scientists to be some of the most intelligent animals on the planet. While modern
whales spend their entire lives in water, they are air breathing mammals whose ancestors roamed
land millions of years ago. With so many interesting facts about whales, once question can be easily
overlooked: Do whales have (teeth)?
Whales belong to infraorder Cetacea, which includes two other ocean dwelling mammals:
porpoises and dolphins. While all whales are carnivores, that doesn t mean all whales have (teeth).
Scientists divide whales into two different parvorders based on this phenomenon: Odontoceti and
Mysticeti. Whales that belong to parvorder Odontoceti are also called toothed whales. Toothed
whales actively hunt their food and are known to eat a wide variety of animals including sea otters,
seals, sharks, squid, and even other whales.
Killer whales are the largest member of the dolphin family.
All toothed whales, including orcas and dolphins, are born with a mouth full of teeth!
The largest species of toothed whale is the sperm whale.

When a baleen whale finds food, it opens its large mouth and sucks in whatever it plans on eating
with large amounts of sea water in one of three ways. Gulp feeders wait until they have a full
mouth, then press their tongues against the baleen. The pressure pushes the sea water out, and its
food gets caught in the baleen like a giant strainer. Once all the water is removed, the whale
swallows its food whole. Skim feeders use a different approach, skimming along the surface of the
water with their mouths open to catch zooplankton. Bottom feeders plow along the seabed and use
their baleen to filter small invertebrates from the

Pennsylvania Code Of Conduct Essay
The Pennsylvania Code of Professional Practice and Conduct for Educators was created in order to
provide teachers with standards for preparation, certification, practice and ethics (PA Code of
Conduct, 1973). Some of the standards that teachers are expected to uphold in the classroom
include treating all students fairly, instilling good citizenship upon students, keeping an open mind.
Section 235.4. part 4 states that Professional educators shall exhibit consistent and equitable
treatment of students... They shall respect the civil rights of all and not discriminate on the basis of
race, national or ethnic origin, culture, religion, sex or sexual orientation, marital status, age,

Section 235.10 states that teachers may not have sexual relations with students. This rule is
straightforward and in place for obvious reasons. Relationships between teachers and students
violate laws and place students and teachers into an altered power dynamic. If students and teachers
had relations outside of school it could lead to unfair treatment. Another rule that must be followed
when it comes to teaching is that teachers must obtain proper certification in order to teach. This
rule is in place to ensure that our children are being taught by qualified individuals. Before someone
can step into a classroom and teach they must obtain teaching certification. Additionally, Section
235.4. part 3 of the PA Code of Conduct states that Professional educators shall maintain high levels
of competence throughout their careers (PA Code of Conduct, 1973). This rule is in place to ensure
that students are receiving the best possible education. Teachers need to be able to keep up with our
ever changing world. By engaging in professional development teachers can stay up to date on the

A Brief Note On The State Of Economic Crisis
H2O Can t be a No
Cochabamba, one of the poorest cities in the world has almost no access to safe water and its
citizens suffer from life threatening waterborne disease. Cochabamba s economy cannot afford the
necessary infrastructure to ensure everyone access to safe water. Bechtel must privatize
Cochabamba s water, offloading the previously unaffordable infrastructure to distribute water to the
underserved poor.
1 How did Bolivia get into the situation it s in now? What led to this need for privatization?
Bolivia is in a state of economic crisis, caused by the limited access to, excess pollution, and
scarcity of fresh water. Privatization will provide the economic stability necessary to advance
technology and spread water into poor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the long run, water is conserved, solving the water crisis and providing water to all Bolivian
families.
2 What is the political climate in Bolivia? Will it support your bid?
Richer citizens are capable of getting by with safe water, but poorer settlements have limited
access to water and are desperately in need of a privatized water system. In Villa San Miguel, the
residents had recently dug a well, increasing their access to water. As Finnegan states, Clean water
was suddenly plentiful and relatively cheap households paid the water cooperative between two
and five dollars a month to cover the costs of running the pump and maintaining the system. [4].
Through the foundation of a new, inexpensive water source, this well provided water to 210
families. The expenses are covered by the townspeople, whom collectively can fund cheaper water
sources compared with public access. Although this drastically decreases the number of people
without water access, this is not a sustainable water source and will soon run out, excentrifying
pollution and halting access.
As for people without public access nor locally funded water sources struggle to survive with
minimal water and the diseases acquired by pollutants. The population is growing, and Cochabamba
does not have a water system in place to support all community members, resulting in an increase of
people without water. Finnegan continues by stating that, Today, Cochabamba is ringed by dozens

Cloud Computing Is A Web Based Utility Model
Cloud computing is a web based utility model. Cybercrime effecting web based systems are equally
applicable in the cloud computing. Considering the affectability and the harm that can be created
by cybercrimes, this is an effort to examine the different digital dangers and routines used to
mitigate them. Firstly, the paper will highlight cloud utilization according to different service
models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and the potential dangers that are pertinent to these service models.
Next, it highlights the commercial industries that are generally attacked. Lastly, we propose a
complete five stage model to relieve cybercrime. It begins with disinfecting the client s PC, usage
of security amid transmission and closures with the information present in the cloud. Sticking to the
proposed model, cybercrime may be controlled up to 90%. Instead of the five stage model, some
companies frequently rely upon replicating the information.
Introduction
Cloud computing is a web based utility model. The user does not need to maintain any
infrastructure that is to be managed by the provider that is cloud provider. The cloud provides
different solutions for the software, platform oriented and the infrastructure. There are three
types of services offered which are classified as (IaaS) Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a

Summary Of Conversation With Daniel Migliore s The...
3.In conversation with Daniel Migliore give an account of what it means to confess that God is
triune. Give care to an explication of economic and immanent trinity, and perichoresis.
In order to explain what it means to confess that God is triune, Migliore explains the origin of our
confession as well as the implications of a God who is three in one. In the following essay, I will
give an account of Migliore s description of how and why we confess the trinity before describing
the three interpretive statements Migliore offers to us in an attempt to explain the triune God in
depth.
Migliore defines the Christian confession of God as triune as a summary description of the witness
of Scripture to God s unfathomable love incarnate in Jesus Christ and experienced and celebrated
in the community of faith (Migliore 67). He is quick to explain that the doctrine of the Trinity is
not a revealed doctrine...[because it] did not descend miraculously from heaven, nor was it
written by God on tablets of stone ; rather it is the product of the meditation and reflection of the
church on the gospel message over many centuries (67). That said, Migliore believes that a
confession of the triune God has both a biblical and experiential basis. He states if talk of the
triune God is not to be wild speculation, it will always find its basis and its limit both in the
biblical narrative of God that comes to the world through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy
Spirit and in the actual

How would you feel if you were accused for something that you didn t even do? For instance,
Emmett Till. He was a 14 year old boy who was born on July 25, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois,

Many protested because it violated the freedom of speech of the adults online and it was rejected
by the Supreme Court in 1997 since it was a restriction on the First Amendment (Gottfried). And
there s always the issue of what should be filtered and what shouldn t. What one considers lewd
or hateful material, another might laugh at. The definition of inappropriate varies from person to
person, community to community, meaning there s no national meaning to the word that
applies to everyone. Is it fair to block something because a few people find it insulting? In
Hillsborough High School, this very issue was brought up only it was over the school newspaper
not the internet. The principal of the school pulled an article from the newspaper detailing the
school s achievement gap over the years strictly because it might harm the students self esteem

information hurtful? Censorship is all based on opinions that not everyone might have so it isn t
fair to block everything for the fear of insulting a few. There are, however, some bad things on the
internet that aren t only dangerous for minors, but for everyone else as well. With the rise of the
internet has come the rise of violent hate crimes. With the web being as vast as it is, it s no surprise

The Bush Administration s Relation With Iraq Prior to Iraq s Invasion of Kuwait
Prior to the August 2, 1990 invasion of Kuwait on the part of Iraq, the
United States had questionable relations with Iraq dictator, Saddam Hussein, to say the least. In
retrospect, which is inherently advantageous as a 20/20 perspective, questions remain unanswered
as to whether or not the United States was too appeasing to Saddam Hussein in the years, months,
and days leading up to that early August morning. There remains to this day lingering questions as
to the role that the US Ambassador to Iraq, April Glaspie, played in conveying the
Administration s message to the Iraqi leader. In addition, questions surrounding the Administrators

Summoned before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to clarify her role in the Administration
s relations with Iraq prior to August 2, 1990,
Ambassador Glaspie offered her version of the events that led to the invasion.
She recalled that Iraq had first and foremost just finished a long, drawn out war with its neighbor
and nemesis, Iran. Hussein, she recalled, had made repeated threats against the state of Israel in the
first half of 1990, but abruptly switched his focus from Israel to that of Kuwait and another
neighbor to the south, the United Arab Emirates. He announced in that speech, in the crudest and
most unmistakable way, that if Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates did not revise their oil policy
and produce according to their OPEC quotas, Iraq would take upon itself effective measures to
make sure they did. 1 Later, under examination by members of the Senate Committee, Glaspie
further detailed
Iraq s basic conflict with Kuwait and the UAE as ...it was Kuwait and the

Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands Essay
Tim Burton s Edward Scissorhands
Tim Burton s only accomplishment in Edward Scissorhands was creating a hackneyed version if
Beauty and the Beast set in middle suburbia. Major innovations were made in entertaining the
eyes for about two hours with contrasting scenery and 1950 s style home dГ©cor. Burton in
collaboration with Caroline Thompson, created a tale about an alluring, and uncooperative beauty
and a beast who falls in love with her. Predictably, the beast Edward (Depp), possesses innocence,
peace, and all those qualities that normally aren t expected for such a creature to have.
Additionally, the beauty Kim (Ryder) is the one of the few who can see through Edward s disguise.
Set in the 50 s in a seemingly nice suburban ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edward has the face as they say only a mother could love and so both Peg and her husband (Arkin)
treat him as a normal adolescent while assuming his hands were a birth defect. He is soon
discovered when wonderful shrub work appear on the front lawns and gardens. Soon, Edward gains
fame around the community and his disability becomes a tool.
Burton s characters reflect the typical stereotypes about middle suburbia. Kim s parents are the
typical idealistic parents that believe anything can be fixed with a few dabs of facial cream and a
good helping of meatloaf. There is the curious little brother that becomes a nuisance as the beautiful
sister approaches her teens. The parents just hang back and see everything as just part of another
phase like ballerina lessons, and cowboys and Indians. Kim s boyfriend in the muscle head jock
set for Harvard with a rich dad going through a mid life crisis with a neo futuristic bachelor pad.
The neighbors are the typical nosey neighbors who fall into the Edward hair cut fad.
Much of the relationship between Kim and Edward revolves around the penetration of Edwards
psyche. As the creation of a mad scientist with the heart of gold, Edward in turn must have the
innocence of the child he meant to create. Much like Frankenstein, the true beauty of the monster is
hidden beneath the layer of physical horror and misunderstanding by the beholder. Burton explores
the debts of Edwards mind through his art because it

Understanding The Way That Real Life Organized Crime...
There are at least two competing definitions: one that focuses on particular groups of people, and
one that focuses on particular types of crime. Both definitions have some validity, and neither is
sufficient to completely describe the global reality. Understanding the way that real life organized
crime situations fit these two definitions makes a big difference in the ways we might go about
solving these problems. When most people say organized crime, it is often a shorthand way of
referring to groups of people, usually the mafia and similar groups. Understood in this way,
organized criminal activity is simply whatever these organized crimegroups do. The people are
consistent across time, although what they do may change: today maybe extortion, tomorrow
maybe heroin trafficking, or check kiting, or procurement fraud, or all of the above. The emphasis
is on the group, not the nature of the crime. This is an important distinction, because it implies a
number of assumptions about the way that organized crime works. Law enforcement agencies use
this definition almost as a matter of course, because the criminal justice system is designed to deal
with specific offences committed by specific people. Policearrest suspects and seize their property,
prosecutors secure convictions one by one, and only individual people can be sent to prison. When
actors in such a system plan proactively, they are limited by the tools at hand, and this affects the
way they conceptualize the

Mastering The Equivocal Paradox Essay
Mastering the Equivocal Paradox
This is the beginning of the end of confusion of a paradox. All, except the somber shellfish
allergenic people, can appreciate the wittiest paradox found twenty thousand leagues under the sea:
the magnificent jumbo shrimp. This peculiar crustacean is one of the many forms of puzzling
contradictions. There is an endless amount of self contradicting, seemingly impossible, yet truthful
statements around the world, and it is our job to justify and rationalize these arguments. Paradox is
important to the development of logical systems. Without paradox, any surprise of a counter
intuitive claim or proposition would seem over our heads and forever impossible, without a
solution. It is left to the brilliant minds of philosophers, artists, writers, poets, engineers,
mathematicians, and countless others to challenge our cerebrum. It is the majestically roaring,
frozen conundrum of M.C. Escher s Waterfall that contains an incongruity which, when followed,
flows in the same path up the steps and down the balcony again and again. The puzzling result of
this is not really a contradiction, but a valid deduction of acceptable premises.
Layers of the Onion
To understanding a paradox is to understand the many comparisons and definitions this enigma
contains. The critical thinking implied in trying to understand the absurd proposition can seem
unreal, but still expresses a possible truth. A paradox is contradictory, however a mere contradiction
is nonsense

Conflict in the Workplace
Conflict in the Workplace
Introduction
The business world is highly competitive from every perspective; competition for office space,
virtual space, markets, customers, clients and with colleagues. It is the responsibility of people
working together in their day to day business transactions to have finely tuned interpersonal skills,
knowledge and experience to ensure that they achieve the best possible outcomes for themselves
and their employers. In environments such as these, conflicts, arguments and disagreements occur

How Did Sumer Affect Society
Ancient Sumer is considered one of the oldest, if not the first civilization known to man. Thought
to be over 7000 years old by some historians, the ancient civilization of Sumer is truly one of a
kind. Being such an old group of people, was Sumer able to advance its own culture and society in
such an ancient time? Has Sumeraffected modern society as we know it today? To begin, the
inventions of ancient Sumer truly had an effect on both their society and us today. The wheel,
although seen as such a simple tool today, was revolutionary at the time of its creation. Historians
say that the wheel was first created to serve as potter s wheels around 3500 B.C. in Mesopotamia
300 years before someone figured out to use them for chariots (Gambino).... Show more content on

Originally lead by priests, religious leaders in Sumer had incredible power. They ruled their city
state, and handled most issues within it. But over time, Sumers priests were overtaken by new
leaders kings. Instead of being directly connected to the gods like a priest, kings were leaders
chosen by the gods to rule over an area, like a god s agent. These kings wrote down codes of law,
the oldest written law documents known. These spoke of the daily justice system, from thievery
to murder to divorce. This idea of government continued for a long time, with monarchies ruling
the lands, until the Greeks created the democracy. This eventually lead to dictatorships and even
ideas such as an oligarchy. This idea of government allowed for Sumer and other civilizations to
have social structure and justice, which is needed for the success of a country. With this, Sumer
was able to grow into a great power. In the modern world, many types of governments exist around
the world, keeping order in their own respective areas. Our countries could not exist without the
original idea of monarchy, as Sumer

Accomplishments During The Renaissance
The renaissance is one of the most fascinating and unique periods of European history. It began in
Italy about 1350 and in the rest of Europe after 1450 and lasted until about 1620. Furthermore, the
renaissance is a historical event known as the period of the revival of art, literature, and learning in
Europe. The name Renaissanceoriginates from several Italian Scholars in the early 15th century that
used the term rinascitГ ( rebirth or renaissance ) to describe their own age as one in which
learning, literature, music and the arts were reborn after a long, dark Middle Ages. (The Columbia
Encyclopedia,2016). Likewise, it was also the time of the Humanism. The intellectual movement
called humanism focused on human life and its achievements. The humanists were fascinated by
cultures of ancient Greece and Rome.
Music is an art that appears in all cultures all over the world. Moreover, during the Renaissance,
vocal music was more dominant than instrumental music, and composers wrote music to enhance
the meaning of the text. In fact, music played a significant role in society during this period as it
helped to shape, advance cultures and was an essential part of civic, religious, and courtly life. The

Music publishing did not begin on a large scale until the mid 15th century when mechanical
techniques for printing music were first developed. Many of the Renaissance printers who
played an important role in the advance of printing were also accomplished musicians,
composers, and distributed music. This was the first stages of music being made widely available
to the public. Earlier, music had to be copied out by hand which was a very labor intensive and
time consuming process, so it was usually undertaken only by priests that were seeking to preserve
sacred music for the church. In other words, printing was a much cheaper

Modern Vampire Research Paper
People! Hey, people! People! Listen up, because this will blow your freakin minds. Modern
fantasy fiction? Totally based on a retro role playing tabletop game. For real. I know, I know, I
had trouble containing my amazement at this epic discovery I just made today. I m probably like
the first person ever to make this connection. In all seriousness though, modern fantasy would not
be what it is without the influence of classic tabletop roleplaying games like the Dungeons
Dragons and World of Darkness series. I spent countless hours as teen and college student tossing
D20s and D6s, my mind drowned in The Forgotten Realms and the adventures of Drizzt Dro

White Wolf Publishing s Vampire: The Masquerade and Ancient Blood are both the source
inspiration for the plethora of vampire fiction that spawned after the publication of Stephenie
Meyer. s Twilight saga. Indeed, Twilight itself owes a tremendous amount to the world of
V:TM. White Wolf s created world casts players as vampires living, working, and hunting as part
of a secret and ancient vampire culture that exists in the shadows of the human world. This
theme is prevalent in every vampire fantasy fiction from The Vampire Diaries to my personal
favorite Buffy The Vampire Slayer. V:TM s creator Mark Rein Hagen states that he did not read
Anne Rice s The Vampire Chronicles novels while working on the game, but admits it may have
certain shared elements with the world of LeStat and his vampire cronies. Even the plot and
structure of Meyer s Twilight universe show heavy influences of both Rice and and Rein Hagen,
though it is unknown if Meyer was familiar with either work. The fantasy of being a being apart,
yet part of a greater and secretive whole was what makes V:TM and fiction similar to it such an
engaging role playing game. Authors of modern vampire fiction all seem to be creating worlds and
characters that mimic role playing settings and characters in their behavior and design. It is as if
they are trying to offer readers what they have experienced themselves from roleplaying games.

The skin is part of the integumentary system, and it is the largest organ in the body (Human

deep to the dermis, however, is the hypodermis. The hypodermis is not part of the integument, but it
is still taken into consideration as the deepest layer of the skin(Human Anatomy Book, 119). The
epidermis, being the most superficial part of the skin, consists of five different layers: stratum
basale, stratum spinosum, stratum granulosum, stratum lucidum (in thick skin only), and stratum

Cleaning For Rich Products As A Transportation Intern
Over the last 6 months I have been interning for Rich Products as a Transportation Intern. A little
history of Rich s is that it was founded in 1945 by Robert E. Rich with Rich s Whipped Icing.
The company is 100% family owned and is the largest privately owned frozen food company in the
U.S. with about $3.7 billion in annual sales. Over the years they have grown and added many
international locations. Interning at a company this large has been a great experience.
I found the internship by searching on websites such as Indeed and saw that they were looking for
candidates that are enrolled in a supply chain major. I right away applied for this seeing as it was
in transportation. I was highly interested in transportation as I was enrolled in a class taught at
Niagara called Transportation Systems. I was able to differentiate myself from other job candidates
by explaining simulations we used in the class along with other transportation knowledge taught in
supply chain/logistics MGT321 course. This position was in their Customer Service and Logistics
department which consisted of a variety of different positions in their supply chain.
My first day I was given a tour of the building along with meeting everyone on the CS L team. I
was assigned a cubical along with all of the electronic devices and passwords. It was

Rumspringa In The Book Of The Bible
Throughout history there have been many different religions. Among those many religions there
have been different sets of rules that are to be followed. Some religions are stricter, while some
are more relaxed. For example, in the Bible Exodus 20:13 states that you shall not murder (New
English Bible, 2009). Most people wouldn t exactly call that a strict law seeing as how it is basic
human decency not to kill another human. An example of a stricter law is also found in the Biblein
the book of Numbers. In chapter 15 verses 32 36 there is a man who on the Sabbath was found
gathering sticks. He was essentially arrested and brought to Moses and Aaron, then thrown in
prison. To this God told Moses and Aaron The man must die. The whole assembly... Show more

The term Rumspringa can be translated as running around, and it is derived from the German
word Raum, which means space as in space to roam (Shachtman, 2006, pg. 10). The more
complete translation is running around outside of the bounds (Shachtman, 2006, pg. 10).
Rumspringa gives the Amish youth license to do things that they have never done before
(Shachtman, 2006, pg. 11). Most Amish youth continue to live with their parents during
Rumspringa and while some do take part in rowdy parties, most do not. One of the main ideas
of Rumspringa is to give youngsters leaves and to find an appropriate mate (Shachtman, 2006,
pg. 13). The idea being that when a young Amish couple will end their Rumspringa together by
agreeing to marry (Shachtman, 2006, pg. 14). While the majority of the Amish youth do not
participate in Rumspringa by going out and being wild, there are ones that choose to participate
in that type of behavior during their Rumspringa. Early on in the book an eighteen year old
young man by the name of Gerald Y is one of the Amish teens that definitely lives outside the
bounds . Gerald is one of the Amish teens that chooses to partake in activities that would be
considered taboo recreation by the Amish. Gerald is addicted to cocaine because it makes him feel

What Were The Effects Of Counterculture In The 1960 s
1. Those beautiful people
If it feels good, do it! Life is about being happy, not what others think you should be. This hippies
primary ideology was primitive, however the path leading to happiness was full of stones and
roots. Below we will investigate, who those awkward youngsters in the Sixties were, what they
thought and believed in, supported and rejected, destroyed and built up.
1.1 Who are Hippies?
Hippies were people mostly of young age, who generally refused to be a part of established
institution. They were individuals and expressed it vividly through their wild and free lifestyle.
Hippies wanted to replace a disappointedly materialistic, corrupted society, which their ancestors
and parents had built for them, with an Utopian society. They opposed any action of harming and
killing, often reflected by their vegetarian diet, eco friendly practices and particularly protesting
against nuclear weapons, Vietnam War, Civil Rights movement during 1960s. Hippies sought for a
meaning in life, some of them found it in Eastern philosophy (Buddhism, Yoga, meditation), some
found it in free love and sexual liberation, many found it by exploring consciousness through effects

it software, hardware, healthcare, banking, government, scientific, etc., one of the most crucial part
for the success of such organizations relies on how they manage their data and with the passage of
time, amount of data is being increased radically which is making it quite difficult for the
organizations to manage their data in an efficient manner.
Our project focuses on to provide optimal solutions for such organization which would enable them
to overcome obstacles of dealing with such large data and yet have better performance than their

We also studied and compared new emerging NoSQL databases like Cassandra, Accumulo,

With the technologies being evolved frequently, organizations would have to continuously look for
new database technologies that would help them to deliver on the current business demands and
growing complexity of applications. Scarcity of knowledge for evolving technologies makes it
significant for organizations to decide wisely. Usage of some particular databases might benefit few
organizations but not the rest. So it s important to first understand the need of the organizations and
then find the best solution for their requirements.
As the time progresses, amount of data in various enterprises will keep on increasing and therefore,
companies will need to continuously evaluate the latest tools and technologies to manage their data
in best possible way such that they could respond to market demands quickly. This leads to
continuous improvement of current technologies and also paves the way for the development of
new technologies in the future.

The Importance Of Cheating
Cheating is one of the ultimate signs of betrayal. Whether it be emotional or physical, cheating
is cheating. Harvey describes cheating throughout the novel through the lens of women who
may not be satisfying their man properly mentally or physically. He insinuates that the biggest
reason of all [are]: there s always a woman out there willing to cheat with him (Harvey et al., pg.
105). Not shockingly, Harvey also manages to blame women for [having] no standards and
requirements and who suffer from serious self esteem issues, making themselves willing to cheat
and available to be cheated on (Harvey et al., pg. 106). Although Harvey is partially correct with
his theory, there are always people who are willing to step outside of their marriage, and it does not
matter if they are male and female, cheatingit still cheating. Sadly, the severity of ones actions are
not usually recognized until they are either exposed, or have lost everything they have loved around
them due to their infidelity. A person who cheats does not necessarily make them a bad person.
According to Eric Anderson, the author of At least with cheating there is an attempt at monogamy:
Cheating and Monogamism among Undergraduate, Heterosexual Men, cheating is a result of
couples lacking three different types of monogamy. Each type, physical, desirous, and social
monogyny, are determined by how men look at being monogamous and faithful throughout their

Essay on Analyis of Knowledge of a Possibility by JUllary...
The value of literature as a source of knowledge is a timeless debate that varies depending on
how knowledge is defined. I will adopt Hillary Putnam s theory of Knowledge of a Possibility
(Putnam 488) in Literature Science, and Reflection (1976), and focus on the value of literature as a
source of conceptual knowledge. The emergence of the novelbrought with it conventions for a
more realistic writing style that aimed to appeal to the common readers. Variations of the degree
of realism ranged from writing that tried to present a fully authentic experience of life, known as
Formal Realism, and writing that offers some authentic aspects of life but also conserves
characteristics of classic genres of epics and romances. These... Show more content on

The criterion for knowledge is rather complex and Putnam addresses literary knowledge in both
the empirical and conceptual elements (Putnam 488). On the one hand, there are the conceptual
elements of knowledge, those that can be considered knowledge of possibility (Putnam 488) that
allow us to think of new possibilities through conceptual discovery (Putnam 488). Conceptual
knowledge allows readers to get a sense of what something is like or provide insight to another
person s beliefs. There are not necessarily claims to truth in this form of knowledge, but in some
instances the hypotheses we obtain from literature may be tested confirmed through personal
experience, and consequently may be confirmed or falsified. On the other hand there is empirical
knowledge, which is gained through observations, scientific experimentation, and evidence. In this
context, Putnam rejects the ability of literature to provide readers with empirical knowledge. In
his example about The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing, Putnam suggests that the book
provides knowledge of what it was like to be a communist in the 1940s (Putnam 489) but offers a
disclaimer you may say to yourself this is what it must have been like; but...you have no right to
say I know what this is what it was like (Putnam 489). Despite this distinction, Putnam still asserts
the value of knowledge in literature Dorris

Sonnet 130 And Hyperbole
In this interpretation, I will be analyzing poetry written by Shakespeare including poetic terms
and a socio historical examination of the text. For this analysis, I will be discussing Sonnet 130
and the poem All the World s a Stage. These poems by Shakespeare are both well known and
very representative of his literary style and his use of contrasting literary devices to paint a vivid
picture for the audience. Shakespeare is a unique and very deft user of language to tell stories
that are understandable to not only audiences from his time but our own as well. In the poem
All the World s a Stage, Shakespeare uses several poetic techniques to bring out existential
questions in the reader s mind. These techniques include smile, imagery and hyperbole. In this
poem, Shakespeare argues that the world is but a stage and men are the actors. This cynical
view of the world is explained through hyperbolic language and scenes throughout a
representative life of a man, as told by Shakespeare. Hyperbole is used when describing the life
of the man in the story and the various actions and behaviors of this man in general. These
exaggerated physical descriptions and behaviors effectively use the exaggerative qualities of
hyperbole to evoke emotions of introspection and despair. I believe that Shakespeare used
hyperbole in this way to cause the reader to reflect on their own life and to be more cognizant of
their place in the grand scheme of things. This poetic device was likely used due to the period
that this poem was written in. During this time, most people were focused on surviving and
making sure they had enough to eat; rather than having the time to think about more existential
and ethereal matters, such as, is this the life that I want to be living. This likely has to do with
the lack of middle class opportunities for the average person during this time. This hyperbolic
language is seen in line 9 And shining...like snail. Line 12 Sighing like...woeful ballad. In these
two lines Shakespeare describes a young schoolboy that is disgusted with going to school. In the
second line, he describes a husband mentally exhausted and sighing in a obvious and exaggerated
manner likely passive aggressively. By describing the

Eve Of Confederation Case Study
On the eve of Confederation the population of what would become Canada went beyond
3,000,000. Of these, nearly 80 percent lived in Ontario and Quebec. Although cities were growing
in the old centres of Halifax and St. John on the Atlantic, Quebec City and Montreal along the St.
Lawrence, and a strip from Kingston to Toronto along the north shore of Lake Ontario, more than
80 percent of Canadas people lived an (away from cities) life. They travelled on dirt trails and
corduroy roads, (shook and rolled around really fast) their own butter, sewed their clothing by the
dim light of coal oil lamps and helped grow their farms with (stick with a long, curved knife at the

Field Work Personal Statement
I was looking for an interactive study abroad experience where I could obtain more experience
doing fieldwork, and found this specific program. The aspects of this class that primarily caught my
attention were the opportunity to do fieldwork, travel to a different continent, camp/hike in one of
the worlds famous regions (Amazon rainforest), and the opportunity to widen my knowledgeof
biodiversity and how to calculate it. I have studied abroad before, with Dr. CS Chaboo doing
fieldwork in Costa Rica, where we collected insects and other creatures from leaf rolls and
inflorescences we found in the cloud rainforests of Monteverde and other regions. In order to find
the specific plants that we wanted to study, we had to hike through Monteverde and surrounding
areas. These hikes were hard and very rewarding and powered my interest... Show more content on

This program, along with the joining course on campus, will allow me not only to explore the
world, but also explore new possible career pathways. Although I know that I want to continue on
to go to graduate school, I am not sure which specific field I want to continue my studies in. I will
have a B.S. degree in Environmental Studies after graduating in 2018, and plan to move out of state
to continue my higher education. After attending the Costa Rica trip, it became evident that
whatever kind of work I want to do in the future, I want it to heavily involve fieldwork and the
study of the health of ecosystems. My short term goals for the future include some kind of
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) or an internship that will allow me to further
explore during the summer which kinds of ecosystems I want to focus my career on (education and

The Strengths And Weaknesses Of Negotiation
Negotiation could be seen in any aspects, any activities of our real life. Negotiations happen
when there is a wide gap between two or more parties interests and targets. Hence, the goal of
negotiation is simply to close that gap by finding out a middle group for both parties. In order to
do that, it is required to develop a great deal of tactics to correctly evaluate ourselves and our
counterparty, then come up with a suitable negotiation strategy. Amongst these requirements, self
assessment is the first and the most important step to take. Hence, in this entry, my objective is
exploring my past experiences in negotiation and see what are my strengths and weakness in doing
so. As mentioned before, we negotiate quite often, much more often than we may think. We can
negotiate at home, in our office, with our friends, families, colleagues or business partners. The
participants, the interests, the motivations of each party vary from case to case. Sometimes we
have time to prepare for the negotiation, sometimes we are just pushed to do it. Sometimes you are
totally aware that you are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I acknowledge that I have got a lot of weaknesses in negotiation. More specifically, I often
conduct negotiation without collecting sufficient information about the situation and developing
a clear negotiation strategy. Let me take my aforementioned annual salary review as an example.
I did not fully understand our company s salary review policy (actually, the top executives tried
to complicate the salary policy and was not transparent about it). Besides, I did not carefully
consider timing of the negotiation, or to which level of salary increase could my boss make
decision and to which level he had to get his superiors approvals. Consequently, I did not know
what and how to talk with my boss about this topic in effective manner. I just let my boss to decide
my salary increase on his own and no negotiation was

The Fall Of The Samurai Analysis
Analysis.
End of Isolationism
One of the most important factors that contributed to the fall of the samurai during the Meiji
restoration was the influx of trade and commerce in Japan at the end of isolationism. The decision
to emphasize trade and commerce during this time period was made by the Japanese government,
the bakufu. However, it marked a weakness that would lead to the downfall of the government and
many high officials, which in turn affected the samurai greatly. During the beginning of the
Tokugawa or Edo period, the Japanese established extreme control over interactions with foreign
neighbors They expelled the Spaniards in 1624, the Portuguese in 1638, and after 1640, all
foreign trade had been eliminated except for a small port that was left open for limited trade with
the Chinese and Dutch under extreme supervision (Norman, 13). Moreover, all foreigners were
required to leave the country. The bakufu believed that the expulsion of foreigners would protect
their ability to trade as well as lead to a society that functioned more ... Show more content on

Daimyos, who had previously prospered due to the land they owned and the rice they earned by
farming on these land, became less important and less influential since people were moving
towards cities. Thus, in July 1869, the practice of daimyos were abolished, and in 1871, the land
that they owned was returned to the emperor. This had a huge impact on the lives of the samurai
because the samurai relied on the daimyos as their lords and to earn a living for themselves. They
were the people that the samurai followed, and without them, there would be no one to pay them.
Due to this, many samurai lost their respective jobs due to a lack of a lord, hence causing them to

Sex Versus Gender Essay
Sex Versus Gender
*No Works Cited A person is born either male or female, however according to Mead the roles of
males and females are conditioned by that person s given culture. There were two articles studied
by Group D, the first one tries to prove that men or women can be the aggressive sex, while the
second article deals on which sex talks more and why. What it comes down too is, that both articles
try to distinguish which sex is more dominant and why. Margaret Mead article, Sex and
Temperament in Three Primitive Societies, describes research done to see if cultures contribute to
the shaping of a person. The research done involves three primitive groups, the Arapesh, the

For example, women strapped to ducking stools, held underwater, gagged, and silenced by cleft
sticks applied to their tongues. But as it turns out men rather than women talk more, in
meetings, in mixed groups, and in classrooms. To further back up this discovery, researchers
found out that when men talked the range lasted from 10.66 to 17.07 seconds, while when
women talked it lasted from 3 to 10 seconds. Report talk and Rapport talk are two different
techniques men and women use when they communicate with each other. Report talk deals
more with men and public speaking, while rapport talk deals with women and private speaking.
Report talk is used by men because they feel more comfortable talking in public than women do.
When men talk they joke around, tell stories, this is a way for them to get attention. That s why
men are more comfortable speaking in larger groups made up of people they know less. Rapport
talk is when women talk to each other on a more personal level. Women talk mostly to other
women , to gossip, to see how their day went, and just to get to know each other. Women feel the
closest when they feel at home or when their with people they feel close and comfortable with.
The reason why women find it so difficult to talk in public is, this is the way they were
conditioned. Women are looked at as being to talkative, why because when they do

There was a huge amount of works on the collaboration between trade and transport costs.
Improvements from the trade should be balanced the related transaction costs, in the method of
direct expenses for the transportation service, because of the value associated with the quick option
for transporting goods. Another important locational conclusion influences, mainly for export
oriented businesses, is closeness to airports with the wide transport.
So international trade is an essential part for the UK economy. Also it has given more strength and
growth to the overall aviation. Global market and business prospects are one of the most important
thing under the trade. Therefore short of the international profession it will be a big lost for UK
economic growth.
For example, UK not only doing trade locally, there is a huge demand for international products in
UK. Manufactured branded Australian TV, famous tasty tea from Asian countries, branded products
are trading from UK to other countries So potentially they are transferring the object domestic and

Descriptive Essay About Taco Madre
Taco Madre is a new Mexican restaurant that opened in Niles, IL. There were several reasons why
this restaurant caught my eye. The interior was designed wonderfully but the location didn t seem
like a good fit, the food was tasty, the people who went were from all age groups, and the music
was entertaining. This restaurant had mostly pros with one con, but, overall, this is a restaurant that
everyone should try because it has a taste of Mexico with a modern style.
The first time I went to Taco Madre, I noticed the location right away. This restaurant recently
opened in my area, so my friends and I decided to check it out and get a bite to eat. I noticed it
was located next to Papa Johns and a Wings restaurant. Because, there are other restaurants
surrounding the premises, it will create competition. My first impression was to dock some points
because of where it was located, but the interior area made up for it.
As I stepped inside the restaurant, the first thing that caught my eye was the walls because it
had the same design as the menu. It struck out because the patterns of the flowers that were
imprinted on the walls showed a lot of colors, which helped brighten the room and add a sense of
dimension/comfort. Not only were the colors of the walls vibrant, but so was the salsa bar
because it was presented with a wide range of spices to choose from. Moreover, Taco Madre had
an excellent variety of food choices. Some of the food they served were tacos, burritos, and
tortas. The menu was not overbearing like the Cheesecake Factory, but it was not limited like
another restaurant. The aroma of the Mexican food would make anyone salivate, the food has
always tasted fresh; plus, they put extra cilantro with a lime on the side. My friends and I
combined the individual tables to make a gigantic seating arrangement suitable for the six of us. I
ordered a Mahi mahi, which is fried fish; there is an option of flour or corn tortilla, and for dessert I
ordered flan. The flan had vanilla ice cream, cherries, and whipped cream added to the top. The
Mahi mahi was cooked to perfection, and the flan consisted of sugary ingredients, and the sweet
taste filled my mouth. Another factor that struck out to me was

Introduction
When I saw Ms. Mary Walker, the word Old does not even cross my mind. I was very surprised
when I found out her age. It seemed strange that a woman of this age could show so much youth,
little wrinkles, mobility, and did not cough every ten seconds as an indicator of good health.
Identifying her as an individual in the 68 + age range seemed misleading but a glance at her salt
and pepper afro provided some proof. A natural inquisitiveness in me wanted to know her secret.
Luckily, I was given an assignment that appeared to be perfectly suitable to ask all the right

As grandmother, she enjoys the position of the matriarch. She has estimated forty grandchildren
and about twenty great grandchildren. Although she has not met all of grandchildren, she is hoping
that sometime during the remainder of her life she will have the opportunity to build relationships
with all of them.
Social/Historical/Environmental Influences
Ms. Walker has lived through several historical events. She recalls the World War II as an event
that affected her early childhood. Her parents received rations of food and clothing from the federal
government, which limited their material possessions. She stated this was the time she first
realized that she was poor. Like other African Americans, the Jim Crow lawsaffected almost every
aspect social of life during pre civil rights movements. She can remember instances of racism
where she was served food through the back door, using segregated public bathrooms, and
reading old school books that came from white schools. She noted that America has come a long
way from the days of Jim Crow. The vindication of Barack Obama as the first black president of the
United States is proof of America s progression in race relations.

Examples Of Trickster Archetype
Tricksters The Merriam Webster English dictionary defines an archetype as a perfect example
of something . A trickster is one who exhibits a great degree of intellect or secret knowledge, and
uses it to deceive others or disobey conventional rules. The trickster archetype appears frequently
in literary and non literary pieces due to its ability to add suspense and amusement to a story.
Loki, for example, a popular example of a trickster; the Norse fire god s image was preserved for
centuries in different stories. This was due to his ability to bring a sense of drama into tales. Three
lesser known trickster archetypes that I would like to talk about are, Ekwensu an African god of

There, the Igbo people once worshipped a deity known as Ekwensu. Now largely misrepresented
as Satan, Ekwensu served as the God of Bargains, and was symbolized by the tortoise due to its

guidance in difficult mercantile situations. Like most Trickster Gods, the deity was a force of
Chaos and Change, thus in his more violent aspects, Ekwensu was also revered as a God of War
and Victory who ruled over the wicked spirits and the chaotic forces of nature. His companion
was Death. He was the testing force of Chukwu, who is seen as his polar opposite, and along
with Ani the Earth goddess, and Igwe the Sky God, serves as one of the three highest deities of
the ancient Igbo people. An example of his cunning is provided in a story called Day and

  • 2. The Innocent By Fredric Wertham Introduction Comic books originated in the 1930s and superhero comics rose to popularity quickly becoming the most prominent comic books within the first decade. The most popular original superhero comics included Superman, Batman, Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Wonder Woman. Superman was originally published in 1938 and is considered to be the first of its kind, the super powered protagonist, beginning the heroic genre. These comics grew to such popularity so quickly that almost immediately they became adapted into shows and films. Supermanpaved the way for numerous comic books to be adapted into movies and television shows. After World War II, the popularity of the comics declined. The two reasons for the decline in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Hearings that focused on comic books specifically were in order to prove that people like Wertham were correct and could also testify their argument that comic books cause harm. The hearings took place in New York where they would discuss horror comics and other comics in bad taste that could only further its impact on youths becoming delinquents (Coville). Both situations caused comic book distributors to take the stories off of the racks consequently leading to a serious decline in sales and popularity. Superheroes have been created within a completely different dimension of our own, thus creating its own form of language and allowing the fans to exist within two dimensions at the same time. The lack of popularity led the books to be uncommon which led to quite a stereotype: only nerds read superhero comics. This stereotype impacted the language used within and about this community. Originally, it was considered normal for people to converse about superheroes but, after the popularity died down, it became nerdy for people to talk about and eventually they developed their own conversation and own use of vocabulary that became unknown to people outside of the community. Comic Con and Reddit are both forums that allow participants to enact different identities by using different languages, behaviors, and ways of dressing and appearing. Many outside of these forums will not understand the meanings behind their language or why they would dress ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

National and international politics, the national ambitions of Canada, technology, and economics all played substantial factors in Canada s aviation industry from that time on. In 1909, following the accomplishments of the Wright brothers, the test flights of Bell s Silver Dart put aviation experiments in motion throughout Canada. The benefit of the use of military aircraft during war times were a direct result of the development of Canada s experimental phase, and many Canadians were members of the British Royal Flying Corps throughout World War 1. • 5. Our Health Care Reform On March 23, 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law. Along with the Health Care and Reconciliation Act that was signed a week later these two bills became known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Tacchino, 2012). This act has had a massive effect on almost everyone in the healthcare industry. The cost associated with reimbursement from Medicaid, medical coverage for individuals, and nursing practices has made many changes in the way healthcare is delivered. With these transformations there will be an impact on the future of nursing over the next 10 years and more. Forces Driving Health Care Reform: Legislative, Consumer, and Ethical Forces and New Models of Care President Theodore Roosevelt first proposed reforming healthcare in 1912, with an effort to start universal healthcare. This effort was again proposed by President Truman in 1949 in his State of the Union message. Once again the effort was dismissed by the American Medical Association, fearing a loss in physician revenue (Cleary Wilmoth, 2011). In 2010, President Obama signed the ACA bill which has been under fire since its proposal. The ACA is supposed to expand the benefits of healthcare to more than 32 million Americans with the requirement of all individuals to have some kind of health insurance by 2014. These ideas had been circulating legislation for many years and Congress was just waiting for the right type of legislative to pass the bill. Most democrats have pushed ... This diverse group of animals has over 75 separate species, and are considered by scientists to be some of the most intelligent animals on the planet. While modern whales spend their entire lives in water, they are air breathing mammals whose ancestors roamed land millions of years ago. With so many interesting facts about whales, once question can be easily overlooked: Do whales have (teeth)? Whales belong to infraorder Cetacea, which includes two other ocean dwelling mammals: porpoises and dolphins. While all whales are carnivores, that doesn t mean all whales have (teeth). Scientists divide whales into two different parvorders based on this phenomenon: Odontoceti and Mysticeti. Whales that belong to parvorder Odontoceti are also called toothed whales. Toothed whales actively hunt their food and are known to eat a wide variety of animals including sea otters, seals, sharks, squid, and even other whales. Killer whales are the largest member of the dolphin family. All toothed whales, including orcas and dolphins, are born with a mouth full of teeth! The largest species of toothed whale is the sperm whale. Sperm whales have teeth that can weigh as much as a kilogram, but scientists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once all the water is removed, the whale swallows its food whole. Skim feeders use a different approach, skimming along the surface of the water with their mouths open to catch zooplankton. Cochabamba s economy cannot afford the necessary infrastructure to ensure everyone access to safe water. Bechtel must privatize Cochabamba s water, offloading the previously unaffordable infrastructure to distribute water to the underserved poor. 1 How did Bolivia get into the situation it s in now? In the long run, water is conserved, solving the water crisis and providing water to all Bolivian families. 2 What is the political climate in Bolivia? Will it support your bid? Richer citizens are capable of getting by with safe water, but poorer settlements have limited access to water and are desperately in need of a privatized water system. In Villa San Miguel, the residents had recently dug a well, increasing their access to water. As Finnegan states, Clean water was suddenly plentiful and relatively cheap households paid the water cooperative between two and five dollars a month to cover the costs of running the pump and maintaining the system. [4]. Through the foundation of a new, inexpensive water source, this well provided water to 210 families. The expenses are covered by the townspeople, whom collectively can fund cheaper water sources compared with public access. Although this drastically decreases the number of people without water access, this is not a sustainable water source and will soon run out, excentrifying pollution and halting access. As for people without public access nor locally funded water sources struggle to survive with minimal water and the diseases acquired by pollutants. The population is growing, and Cochabamba does not have a water system in place to support all community members, resulting in an increase of people without water. Considering the affectability and the harm that can be created by cybercrimes, this is an effort to examine the different digital dangers and routines used to mitigate them. Firstly, the paper will highlight cloud utilization according to different service models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and the potential dangers that are pertinent to these service models. Next, it highlights the commercial industries that are generally attacked. Lastly, we propose a complete five stage model to relieve cybercrime. It begins with disinfecting the client s PC, usage of security amid transmission and closures with the information present in the cloud. Sticking to the proposed model, cybercrime may be controlled up to 90%. Instead of the five stage model, some companies frequently rely upon replicating the information. • 13. Summary Of Conversation With Daniel Migliore s The... 3.In conversation with Daniel Migliore give an account of what it means to confess that God is triune. Give care to an explication of economic and immanent trinity, and perichoresis. In order to explain what it means to confess that God is triune, Migliore explains the origin of our confession as well as the implications of a God who is three in one. In the following essay, I will give an account of Migliore s description of how and why we confess the trinity before describing the three interpretive statements Migliore offers to us in an attempt to explain the triune God in depth. Migliore defines the Christian confession of God as triune as a summary description of the witness of Scripture to God s unfathomable love incarnate in Jesus Christ and experienced and celebrated in the community of faith (Migliore 67). He is quick to explain that the doctrine of the Trinity is not a revealed doctrine...[because it] did not descend miraculously from heaven, nor was it written by God on tablets of stone ; rather it is the product of the meditation and reflection of the church on the gospel message over many centuries (67). That said, Migliore believes that a confession of the triune God has both a biblical and experiential basis. He states if talk of the triune God is not to be wild speculation, it will always find its basis and its limit both in the biblical narrative of God that comes to the world through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the actual ... Hussein, she recalled, had made repeated threats against the state of Israel in the first half of 1990, but abruptly switched his focus from Israel to that of Kuwait and another neighbor to the south, the United Arab Emirates. He announced in that speech, in the crudest and most unmistakable way, that if Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates did not revise their oil policy and produce according to their OPEC quotas, Iraq would take upon itself effective measures to make sure they did. 1 Later, under examination by members of the Senate Committee, Glaspie further detailed Iraq s basic conflict with Kuwait and the UAE as ...it was Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates whom he [Saddam] accused of overproducing their OPEC quotas which of course put prices down and he needed the prices up because he was deeply in debt. 2 That debt, of course, had been ... • 18. Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands Essay Tim Burton s Edward Scissorhands Tim Burton s only accomplishment in Edward Scissorhands was creating a hackneyed version if Beauty and the Beast set in middle suburbia. Major innovations were made in entertaining the eyes for about two hours with contrasting scenery and 1950 s style home dГ©cor. Burton in collaboration with Caroline Thompson, created a tale about an alluring, and uncooperative beauty and a beast who falls in love with her. Predictably, the beast Edward (Depp), possesses innocence, peace, and all those qualities that normally aren t expected for such a creature to have. Additionally, the beauty Kim (Ryder) is the one of the few who can see through Edward s disguise. Set in the 50 s in a seemingly nice suburban ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Edward has the face as they say only a mother could love and so both Peg and her husband (Arkin) treat him as a normal adolescent while assuming his hands were a birth defect. He is soon discovered when wonderful shrub work appear on the front lawns and gardens. Soon, Edward gains fame around the community and his disability becomes a tool. Burton s characters reflect the typical stereotypes about middle suburbia. Kim s parents are the typical idealistic parents that believe anything can be fixed with a few dabs of facial cream and a good helping of meatloaf. There is the curious little brother that becomes a nuisance as the beautiful sister approaches her teens. The parents just hang back and see everything as just part of another phase like ballerina lessons, and cowboys and Indians. Kim s boyfriend in the muscle head jock set for Harvard with a rich dad going through a mid life crisis with a neo futuristic bachelor pad. The neighbors are the typical nosey neighbors who fall into the Edward hair cut fad. Much of the relationship between Kim and Edward revolves around the penetration of Edwards psyche. As the creation of a mad scientist with the heart of gold, Edward in turn must have the innocence of the child he meant to create. Much like Frankenstein, the true beauty of the monster is hidden beneath the layer of physical horror and misunderstanding by the beholder. Burton explores the debts of Edwards mind through his art because it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Understanding The Way That Real Life Organized Crime... There are at least two competing definitions: one that focuses on particular groups of people, and one that focuses on particular types of crime. Both definitions have some validity, and neither is sufficient to completely describe the global reality. Understanding the way that real life organized crime situations fit these two definitions makes a big difference in the ways we might go about solving these problems. When most people say organized crime, it is often a shorthand way of referring to groups of people, usually the mafia and similar groups. Understood in this way, organized criminal activity is simply whatever these organized crimegroups do. The people are consistent across time, although what they do may change: today maybe extortion, tomorrow maybe heroin trafficking, or check kiting, or procurement fraud, or all of the above. The emphasis is on the group, not the nature of the crime. This is an important distinction, because it implies a number of assumptions about the way that organized crime works. Law enforcement agencies use this definition almost as a matter of course, because the criminal justice system is designed to deal with specific offences committed by specific people. Policearrest suspects and seize their property, prosecutors secure convictions one by one, and only individual people can be sent to prison. When actors in such a system plan proactively, they are limited by the tools at hand, and this affects the way they conceptualize the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Mastering The Equivocal Paradox Essay Mastering the Equivocal Paradox This is the beginning of the end of confusion of a paradox. All, except the somber shellfish allergenic people, can appreciate the wittiest paradox found twenty thousand leagues under the sea: the magnificent jumbo shrimp. This peculiar crustacean is one of the many forms of puzzling contradictions. There is an endless amount of self contradicting, seemingly impossible, yet truthful statements around the world, and it is our job to justify and rationalize these arguments. Paradox is important to the development of logical systems. Without paradox, any surprise of a counter intuitive claim or proposition would seem over our heads and forever impossible, without a solution. It is left to the brilliant minds of philosophers, artists, writers, poets, engineers, mathematicians, and countless others to challenge our cerebrum. It is the majestically roaring, frozen conundrum of M.C. Escher s Waterfall that contains an incongruity which, when followed, flows in the same path up the steps and down the balcony again and again. The puzzling result of this is not really a contradiction, but a valid deduction of acceptable premises. Layers of the Onion To understanding a paradox is to understand the many comparisons and definitions this enigma contains. The critical thinking implied in trying to understand the absurd proposition can seem unreal, but still expresses a possible truth. Thought to be over 7000 years old by some historians, the ancient civilization of Sumer is truly one of a kind. Being such an old group of people, was Sumer able to advance its own culture and society in such an ancient time? Has Sumeraffected modern society as we know it today? To begin, the inventions of ancient Sumer truly had an effect on both their society and us today. The wheel, although seen as such a simple tool today, was revolutionary at the time of its creation. These kings wrote down codes of law, the oldest written law documents known. These spoke of the daily justice system, from thievery to murder to divorce. This idea of government continued for a long time, with monarchies ruling the lands, until the Greeks created the democracy. This eventually lead to dictatorships and even ideas such as an oligarchy. Furthermore, the renaissance is a historical event known as the period of the revival of art, literature, and learning in Europe. The name Renaissanceoriginates from several Italian Scholars in the early 15th century that used the term rinascitГ ( rebirth or renaissance ) to describe their own age as one in which learning, literature, music and the arts were reborn after a long, dark Middle Ages. The humanists were fascinated by cultures of ancient Greece and Rome. Music is an art that appears in all cultures all over the world. Moreover, during the Renaissance, vocal music was more dominant than instrumental music, and composers wrote music to enhance the meaning of the text. Harvey describes cheating throughout the novel through the lens of women who may not be satisfying their man properly mentally or physically. Not shockingly, Harvey also manages to blame women for [having] no standards and requirements and who suffer from serious self esteem issues, making themselves willing to cheat and available to be cheated on (Harvey et al., pg. 106). • 38. Essay on Analyis of Knowledge of a Possibility by JUllary... The value of literature as a source of knowledge is a timeless debate that varies depending on how knowledge is defined. I will adopt Hillary Putnam s theory of Knowledge of a Possibility (Putnam 488) in Literature Science, and Reflection (1976), and focus on the value of literature as a source of conceptual knowledge. The emergence of the novelbrought with it conventions for a more realistic writing style that aimed to appeal to the common readers. Variations of the degree of realism ranged from writing that tried to present a fully authentic experience of life, known as Formal Realism, and writing that offers some authentic aspects of life but also conserves characteristics of classic genres of epics and romances. These... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The criterion for knowledge is rather complex and Putnam addresses literary knowledge in both the empirical and conceptual elements (Putnam 488). On the one hand, there are the conceptual elements of knowledge, those that can be considered knowledge of possibility (Putnam 488) that allow us to think of new possibilities through conceptual discovery (Putnam 488). Conceptual knowledge allows readers to get a sense of what something is like or provide insight to another person s beliefs. There are not necessarily claims to truth in this form of knowledge, but in some instances the hypotheses we obtain from literature may be tested confirmed through personal experience, and consequently may be confirmed or falsified. On the other hand there is empirical knowledge, which is gained through observations, scientific experimentation, and evidence. In this context, Putnam rejects the ability of literature to provide readers with empirical knowledge. In his example about The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing, Putnam suggests that the book provides knowledge of what it was like to be a communist in the 1940s (Putnam 489) but offers a disclaimer you may say to yourself this is what it must have been like; but...you have no right to say I know what this is what it was like (Putnam 489). Despite this distinction, Putnam still asserts the value of knowledge in literature Dorris ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Sonnet 130 And Hyperbole In this interpretation, I will be analyzing poetry written by Shakespeare including poetic terms and a socio historical examination of the text. For this analysis, I will be discussing Sonnet 130 and the poem All the World s a Stage. These poems by Shakespeare are both well known and very representative of his literary style and his use of contrasting literary devices to paint a vivid picture for the audience. Shakespeare is a unique and very deft user of language to tell stories that are understandable to not only audiences from his time but our own as well. In the poem All the World s a Stage, Shakespeare uses several poetic techniques to bring out existential questions in the reader s mind. These techniques include smile, imagery and hyperbole. In this poem, Shakespeare argues that the world is but a stage and men are the actors. This cynical view of the world is explained through hyperbolic language and scenes throughout a representative life of a man, as told by Shakespeare. Hyperbole is used when describing the life of the man in the story and the various actions and behaviors of this man in general. These exaggerated physical descriptions and behaviors effectively use the exaggerative qualities of hyperbole to evoke emotions of introspection and despair. I believe that Shakespeare used hyperbole in this way to cause the reader to reflect on their own life and to be more cognizant of their place in the grand scheme of things. This poetic device was likely used due to the period that this poem was written in. During this time, most people were focused on surviving and making sure they had enough to eat; rather than having the time to think about more existential and ethereal matters, such as, is this the life that I want to be living. This likely has to do with the lack of middle class opportunities for the average person during this time. This hyperbolic language is seen in line 9 And shining...like snail. Line 12 Sighing like...woeful ballad. In these two lines Shakespeare describes a young schoolboy that is disgusted with going to school. In the second line, he describes a husband mentally exhausted and sighing in a obvious and exaggerated manner likely passive aggressively. By describing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Negotiations happen when there is a wide gap between two or more parties interests and targets. Hence, the goal of negotiation is simply to close that gap by finding out a middle group for both parties. In order to do that, it is required to develop a great deal of tactics to correctly evaluate ourselves and our counterparty, then come up with a suitable negotiation strategy. Amongst these requirements, self assessment is the first and the most important step to take. Hence, in this entry, my objective is exploring my past experiences in negotiation and see what are my strengths and weakness in doing so. As mentioned before, we negotiate quite often, much more often than we may think. We can negotiate at home, in our office, with our friends, families, colleagues or business partners. End of Isolationism One of the most important factors that contributed to the fall of the samurai during the Meiji restoration was the influx of trade and commerce in Japan at the end of isolationism. The decision to emphasize trade and commerce during this time period was made by the Japanese government, the bakufu. However, it marked a weakness that would lead to the downfall of the government and many high officials, which in turn affected the samurai greatly. During the beginning of the Tokugawa or Edo period, the Japanese established extreme control over interactions with foreign neighbors They expelled the Spaniards in 1624, the Portuguese in 1638, and after 1640, all foreign trade had been eliminated except for a small port that was left open for limited trade with the Chinese and Dutch under extreme supervision (Norman, 13). The first time I went to Taco Madre, I noticed the location right away. This restaurant recently opened in my area, so my friends and I decided to check it out and get a bite to eat. I noticed it was located next to Papa Johns and a Wings restaurant. Because, there are other restaurants surrounding the premises, it will create competition. My first impression was to dock some points because of where it was located, but the interior area made up for it. As I stepped inside the restaurant, the first thing that caught my eye was the walls because it had the same design as the menu. It struck out because the patterns of the flowers that were imprinted on the walls showed a lot of colors, which helped brighten the room and add a sense of dimension/comfort. Not only were the colors of the walls vibrant, but so was the salsa bar because it was presented with a wide range of spices to choose from. Moreover, Taco Madre had an excellent variety of food choices. Some of the food they served were tacos, burritos, and tortas. The menu was not overbearing like the Cheesecake Factory, but it was not limited like another restaurant. The aroma of the Mexican food would make anyone salivate, the food has always tasted fresh; plus, they put extra cilantro with a lime on the side. My friends and I combined the individual tables to make a gigantic seating arrangement suitable for the six of us. I ordered a Mahi mahi, which is fried fish; there is an option of flour or corn tortilla, and for dessert I ordered flan. The flan had vanilla ice cream, cherries, and whipped cream added to the top.
