Management Information Systems ( Mis )
MIS in US: Top ranking universities with average GRE scores Management Information Systems
(MIS) has become a rapidly sought after specialization in the past few decades. But the roots, of this
specialization, are definitely not that new. Let s say, even Chitragupta, the god of scribes, was
practicing MIS while keeping track of the deeds of humans, you know, for purposes of creating a
database for good and bad karma. So, as you might have guessed already, MIS has to do with
managing information. Without good practices of record keeping and utilizing that record, Chitragupta
s ledger could have missed out on meting out fairly deserved karma kickbacks. What has changed,
since the mythological age to the Information age, is the way information can be shared and
manipulated. Since early 1900s, business owners were using ledgers and punch cards to keep track of
sales, data, finances, etc [1] until they were replaced by computers, using less cumbersome, more
efficient database systems. With the internet, sweeping us of our feet, in the 90s, information realized
a bigger, much easier, platform for getting shared. Lately cloud sharing has made information
immensely more mobile and accessible. Parallel to the growth, of the playing field of information, the
need for trained professionals, to manage the information, grew. Now, top Universities in the US, offer
some of the most well structured, well established departments for training future business managers

Explaining Ap Statistics
Part 3: Writing and Explaining AP Statistics 1.The quadratic formula is to solve for x. The formula is
x= b +/ √b² 4ac 2a. It also helps solve the standard equation Ax²+bx+c=0. 2. The rule in algebra about
adding exponents is to ONLY add the base numbers if they are the same. If the base numbers aren t
the same then you have to make the numbers the same before you continue. 3. To draw a two
dimensional representation of a cube, first you must draw a square. Then draw three diagonal lines
going from left to right. These three lines should extend from the top right corner, the top left corner,
and the bottom right corner. Next you have to draw one more diagonal line from the bottom left
corner, but this line must be a dotted line. Then draw

William Wycherley Essay
The restoration era of theatre was a unique period of time for iconic practitioners and actors to
revitalise the love for drama after an 18 year ban enforced by the reign of the Puritans, one of these
practitioners being William Wycherley. Wycherley was born in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom, just a
year before the Puritans took thrown of the English Parliament in 1642. He grew up with his family as
middle class citizens with an exceptional property until he was 15 where Wycherleys parents figured it
would be that his son would get his education outside of their home town and therefore sent him off to
France where he would grow up to become one of the most recognisable comedic writers of the late
17th century. He received his education in Charente, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social matters and characters with controversial personalities, or even personalities which reflected
the audience were often portrayed throughout most of his scripts using various techniques, one of
these techniques being his use of one liners. One liners can be described as a witty remarks which are
abrupt and snappy to enhance the amusement of the play. Consequently, Wycherleys constant use of
these short jokes brought popularity back to the use of them and has been adapted to modern theatre
which can be seen in comedy movies or sitcom television shows. The one liners used in both The
Country Wife and The Plain Dealer are what brought both performances such high levels of success.
The Country Wife and The Plain Dealer are described to be Mr Williams highly regarded works which
he had produced. The Country Wife included marvelous characters who did not change their
personalities or morals, if they were a horrible person, that s what they remained for the durations of
the play without character development. The Country Wife was published in 1675 and depicted the
story of a man who has countless affairs with woman and a country girl becoming accustomed with
the town life and the captivating men in London. The play s vile humour was soon banned from the
theatre and was transformed into a more appropriate film in later

The Impact Of The Executive Order
The Internet, as we all know, has rapidly spread around since its commercialization in the 1990s. It is
evident that cybersecurity attacks are not going anywhere, and that government will continue to
remain a target. In addition, the Internet of Things (IoT) growth will lead to more devices being
connected to the networks. Therefore, with technology moving forward and hackers being more
motivated as ever, the government finds itself struggling to keep up with effective cybersecurity
measures and with filling up the designated positions in the Cybersecurity department. On May 11,
2017, our new President, Donald Trump, issued a new Executive Order 13800, to the Nation s
capabilities and be able to mitigate cybersecurity threats (The White ... Show more content on

Another thing the government should be focusing on is to stop buying on cyber technology from other
countries and start relying on cyber technology done in the U.S. By relying on technology from other
countries, it makes us a target therefore, placing us at more risk. Why? Because they might know or
have an idea in which areas we are lacking based on the technology that we buy from them. As far as
we know, they might have a hidden agenda on how and when to attack. Don t get me wrong the
government already follows this policy to some extent but they should try use it more. As I said
before, these are all great goals for the next few years but what has been done since this new EO was
established? In August 2017, the SecurityScoreCard Security Research Team released the analysis
done on 552 local, state and federal government organizations. They found that the government was
lagging on replacing outdated softwares, patching, individual endpoint defense and IP address
activities that showed that they may have been compromised (SSC Research Team, 2017). These are
all vulnerabilities that if worked on, would fix most of the problems in the government. Which bring
my next issue. According to Senator John McCain (2017), Leadership from the executive branch has
been weak He also said, While, the current administration promised a

I Designed My Lesson Plan
a.) I designed my lesson plan to be used in first and second grade. This lesson plan was designed to be
a cross curriculum lesson about spiders that incorporates the following subject areas: Science,
Language Arts, and Visual/Performance Arts. This lesson will be taught during the month of October
after students have gained prior knowledge through an insect unit that was taught the month before.
(b.) The content object that I used in this lesson was for students to be able to identify important
information about spiders. I think that providing students with background knowledge prior (teaching
a month long unit on insects) would assist students when it comes time to do a unit on spiders. I think
that the most challenging aspect for this lesson would be the vocabulary words. The vocabulary list
that I have complied varies in difficulty and I believe that some of the words would be more
challenging to some of the students. I would ensure that these words were taught previously in the
insect unit in order for students to become familiar with these words. I would also have prior
knowledge of my student s abilities and provide individualized word lists that match the student s
ability. In addition, I would stock the student library with a variety of books about spiders that contain
the vocabulary words, and utilize various center activities to reinforce the lesson objectives for this
unit. The content object that I created is both measureable and observable and the

Different Forms Of Government Treat Their Citizens
The amount of power that a government should have within a country has been argued throughout
history. A mutualistic relationship between a government and its people is clear in almost every
society in the world, yet, the dominance one entity has over the other varies from case to case. The
United States foundation is based upon the fact that the Government works for the people in which
actual citizens take part in maintaining a fair, unified authority, but this modern democracy has many
pros and cons and is still not agreeably the best form of government. People s opinions differ on how
much say any given person should have on the decisions his or her county makes and the relationship
a government should have with its people is very ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most shocking part of the novel in which doublethink is implemented is when the Party suddenly
announces that Oceania is at war with Eastasia and no longer Eurasia. The part that is shocking is that
once the announcement is made about the change of countries, the people unquestionably change their
previous hate towards Eastasia and immediately despise their once allies Eurasia. The unconditioned
trust in the government truly shows how brainwashed the population is, and because of this trust the
society is able to function successfully. The true patriotism of the citizens facilitates a lack of anguish
over the harsh injustices from the government; everyone in Oceania is content with a brutal lifestyle
and none dare to revolt against The Party. Winston shares how society functions successfully behind
such a corrupt government when he says, In a way, the world−view of the Party imposed itself most
successfully on people incapable of understanding it ... By lack of understanding they remained sane.
They simply swallowed everything, and what they swallowed did them no harm, because it left no
residue behind (Orwell). Since the decisions that are made in society are done completely by the
government, the citizens of Oceania have to absorb whatever the Party announces as fact. With no
thoughts about how life could become better the people coexist in a habitat in which they truly believe
could not be improved. All injustice and conflict is diminished once people

Alienation And Isolation In Frankenstein
An Analysis of the Theme of Alienation and Isolation in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
This literary analysis will analyze a close reading of the theme of alienation and isolation of the
Monster in Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The passage chosen from Shelley s novel will define the
self education of the monster through the symbolism of Lucifer in John Milton s epic poem Paradise
Lost: But Paradise Lost excited different and far deeper emotions...but I am solitary and detested
(Shelley para.7). The relationship between the Monster (as Lucifer) and God (as Victor Frankenstein)
defines the neglect and abandonment that define his alienation and struggle in isolation. Milton s
heroic description of Lucifer defines the Monster s identity as a re animated ... Show more content on

The chosen passage defines the importance of Paradise Lost by John Milton as a form of literary
symbolism to define the Monster s self education as a basis for his revenge against Victor. The
relationship between God and Adam defines how the Monster comes tor realize that he has been
created by a supernatural being, much like he was created by Victor. However, he also comes to know
that God has abandoned him. The Monster knows that he has not been given the love and resources
given to Adam, which forces him to realize that he is more like the fallen angel Lucifer. In response to
this realization, the Monster decides to kill Victor s wife, just as Lucifer destroyed eve by tempting her
to eat the forbidden apple from the Tree of Knowledge. These are important aspects of literary
symbolism that the Monster learns that create a motivation for vengeance against his creator. This
passage defines the theme of alienation and isolation that the Monster endures through the literary

The Persuasiveness of the Captivity Narrative
As the most influential black American author of his time, in The Interesting Narrative of the Life of
Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavas Vassa, the African, Written by Himself, Olaudah Equiano illuminated
for the masses many of the inhumanities and atrocities associated with the slave trade that previously
had been known only to those more intimately involved with it and began an entire new genre known
as the slave narrative. Part of the success of Equiano s narrative must be ascribed to the familiar
themes of capture, captivity, and restoration that he experienced and many had read in one of the many
captivity narratives that were so popular in early Colonial times. One such captivity narrative that has
many similarities to Equiano s slave ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before Equiano s narrative, slaves were a faceless mass with no individuality or humanity to speak of.
His slave narrative put an individual, educated, Christian face to the ongoing brutality.
Although both Rowlandson and Equiano s narratives were the first and most influential narratives at
the time they were written, the differences between the two are much more significant than their
similarities. The most noticeable difference between the two narratives is the portrayal of the captors.
While Rowlandson demonized her captors and dwelled on every slight that she received, and even
though Equiano received much worse from some of the white men that he encountered, he often wrote
of his admiration for them, their education, and the friendship that was bestowed upon him. Equiano
even wrote of one boy who was particularly nice to him, I regarded [him] ... as ... my friend, whom I
loved, and grieved for, as a brother (691). The differences in this portrayal can be directly ascribed to
the different purposes with which the narratives were written. Rowlandson demonized the Indians
partly because she was writing to the Colonialists in an attempt to strengthen the Colonialists hatred of
the Native Americans. In this case it would not have been logical to write of their virtues. Equiano,
however, was trying to get his captors to sympathize with his cause. While it was

The Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Reading
I. Introduction
A. Background information
General Background: For a long time, it is known that reading is an inseparable part of daily living for
an educated person.
Specific Background: There are a large amount of articles that discusses the advantages and
disadvantages of reading. Some authors discuss the negative sides of reading and literateness while
others wrote the article which is about the positive sides. One of those types of articles is Why our
future depends on libraries, reading and daydreaming by Neil Gaiman who is an outstanding English
author of fictions, novels, comic books, and so on.

People may access the libraries data, and easily find the information which is appropriate for their
interests. It will also help them to save their time.
Main idea/aspect # 2: Gaiman presents a strong argument about daydreaming that it does not not
matter, you are reader or writer, children or adult, everyone should daydream.
A. Supporting idea #1: We have an obligation to imagine . It refers his claim smoothly.
1. When people imagine, they can change everything over and over, from smaller to bigger by
daydreaming.
B. Supporting idea #2: People can make things different in order to improve themselves.
1. Individuals make the future, and they do it by imagining that things can be different . People may
sit somewhere, and imagine something which is does not exist in there. With this way, they can dream
about their future.
Main idea/aspect # 3: Another powerful argument of Gaiman s article is that importance of reading
fictions.
A. Supporting idea #1: People improve their empathy by reading functions.
1. While reading a book, people create a person and a place in their mind. It helps to use our creativity
and imagination.

4a. If X and W are uncorrelated, find the mean and variance of .
The value of the mean is 30+2*40=110 Since they are uncorellated, the Correlation term is zero.
Thus, the variance is 144+4*225=1044
4b. Find the probability that .
With the mean and variance calculated above, the z value matching 120 is (120 110)/32.31=.31
The probability that z exceeds .31 is .3783.
Henceforth, suppose that X and W have a correlation coefficient ρ= .25.
4c. What is the covariance of X and W? 4d. Find the probability that .
Using the formula from part a: Var[X+2W]=864, making the z value (120 110)/29.39=.34. The
probability of exceeding .34 is .3669.
4e. Find the probability that .
At 50, the z value is 60/29.39= 2.04 The probability that z is less than this number is .0207. Since the
probability of being less than 120 was implied in part d of being .6331, the probability of landing
between the two is the difference: .6124.

Sharon V. Salinger, Taverns and Drinking in Early America (Maryland: Johns Hopkins University
Press, 2002)
Most aspects of colonial life in early America are well talked about: housing, food, daily routine,
religion, etc. One of the more glossed over, yet interesting topics, is that of colonial drinking and the
taverns in which it takes place. Why did colonial Americans enjoy drinking so much? In Sharon V.
Salinger s, Taverns and Drinking in Early America, she outlines how drinking traditions started and
how it affected daily life and the impact it had on the people of early America. Salinger s overview of
the origins and developed habits of drinking in early America provides insight to the different
purposes the activity and taverns in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The overview of taverns and drinking and their great impact on daily life is obvious in the evidence
and narration Salinger provides. She uses a journal written by Thomas Jefferson to explain how deeply
entrenched in their daily lives taverns and drinking were: Thomas Jefferson noted with alarm that
cheap distilled spirits were spreading through the mass of our citizens, yet he is credited with
inventing the presidential cocktail party (3). Despite any negativity surrounding drinking, its growth in
popularity was unstoppable. She also adds the fact that water was considered an unsafe beverage ,
which partially explains the reason for alcohol s rise to popularity and appearance in the daily lives of
early Americans. This increase in drinking also lead to the tavern culture and the need to regulate it,
which brings in the lawmaking side.
The thesis of Salinger s book and research states, Colonial taverns and hotels that developed from elite
taverns manifested an American society that maintained segregation in public by race, gender, and
class (245). Essentially, over the course of the eighteenth century colonial taverns grew exclusionary,
in time serving certain sections of society rather than the whole community. She writes even at the
very beginning of the text of the separation: In the urban taverns that served a middle class and elite
clientele, men gathered on a regular basis to transact business, argue over issues of local politics, or

The Poor Clare s Monastery in New Orleans, Louisiana take a lot of their ideals and lifestyle choices

ideals are living a life of prayer, community, and joy. They also believe that every sister should

Orleans are very typical ladies. They conduct Tuesday morning meanings in the library to make sure
the monastery is running smoothly. They discuss important issues, listen to each other s opinions, and
address needs of the monastery. On a lighter note, the sisters celebrate birthdays much like the rest of
society. They eat cake made from scratch, and the pictures suggest a sort of feast is held for the
occasion. They are encouraged to be themselves, and that can be shown through their artistic abilities
like music, crafting, cooking, or otherwise. The rose garden at the monastery is the perfect place to

Disadvantages Of Geothermal Energy
Introduction
Over the past several years the realization of a limited amount of renewable resources has pushed for a
more environmentally friendly form of utilities. This realization has shifted the mindset of the
consumer to prefer a more green and economical utility free home using sustainable energy sources.
The scientists at Whole Life Energy are analyzing the use of geothermal energy to meet the
requirements of our consumers and environment. This report covers what geothermal energy is,
different types of geothermal energy, and geothermal energy advantages.
What is Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is the routing of liquid filled tubing underneath the Earth s surface to absorb heat.
A small pump is used to circulate the liquid, so the heat can be extracted in the home or business. The
earth absorbs and stores about half the suns energy. Due to this massive absorption, the earth
maintains a fairly constant temperature of 45 70 degrees Fahrenheit at a depth of 6 feet (Rinkesh,
2017). This constant temperature will allow our company to tap into a never ending supply of heat
production. Depending on the size of facility needing heating will determine the depth of the tubing
required to draw the appropriate energy. The EPA states, farther below the surface, the temperature
increases at an average rate of approximately 1°F for every 70 feet in depth (Renewable Heating and
Cooling, 2016). This flexibility allows us the ability to customize the conditioning

Nkrumah s Successful and failed policies A great leader of Ghana was not solely known by his name
but people remember him for what he has done for the nation. Kwame Nkrumah led United Gold
Coast Convention (UGCC) to gain support and achieve independence for Ghana in 1957. After a
conflict in party arises Nkrumah splits because he believed that UGCC goal wasn t solely to achieve
independence and formed a new party, the Convention People s Party (CPP). After Nkrumah became
the first Ghana president through his policies and political strategies it helped Ghana exponentially
develop and lead Ghana towards modernization. The period of 1958 1966 would mark as one of the
most critical periods for development for many countries in western Africa and Ghana was amongst
leading countries in rapid industrialization (Week 3, Economic and political development: Slide 7). To
this day, people of Ghana remember Nkrumah not just as the first president but as a great leader for
numerous reasons, mainly for his great deal of contribution in gaining independence and post
independence developments. One of the prominent achievements that Dr. Nkrumah had achieved was
gaining independence from Great Britain through serving as a leader in both UGCC and CPP.

Mr. Arthur Birling could have triggered the chain of events leading to Eva Smith s death, I disagree.
Birling, a man in his mid fifties, is the first of the family to be acquainted with Eva Smith after he fires

The way we are currently conducting business is that we are completely different entities, and we have

I propose the agencies come together in one coordinated model. Reasons being, although we have

we are presented files that need to be corrected each month. In order to eliminate the process of double

Impact Of Oc On Employee Performance
Impact of OC on employee/organisational performance There is a common consensus that employees
behaviours are shaped by their culture (Denison, 1984, Furnham and Gunter, 1993). In an
organisational context, management interest in a culture lies in what impact culture can have on the
commercial or financial performance of a firm. Organisational performance (which is derived from
employee performance) or success implies to the contributions or productivity of employees of an
organisation. Research indicates that culture is a key factor in the performance of successful
companies Peters and Waterman (1982); Goldsmith and Clutterbuck (1984). Denison (1990) contends
that the performance of an organisation is determined by the extent to which the values of OC are
comprehensively shared among its members. However, other studies suggest that there is little or no
evidence that supports the correlation between culture and organisational performance Reynolds
(1986), Hitt and Ireland (1987). Contrary to Waterman s and Peters view, a number of organisations
with appropriate cultural characteristics were found to be in financial problems let alone good
performance (Carroll, 1983; Thompson and McHugh, 1990). According to Alvesson (2002), the direct
correlation between organisational culture and performance is somewhat ambiguous. Schein (1984)
argues that cultural strength may or may not be correlated with organisational effectiveness as the
relation between culture and effectiveness are

Argumentative Essay On Dnr
I support liberty and I support less government, but i guess my line of thinking on this is a little bit
different. I know that this would be the government tell you what you can and cannot do, which as you
could probably guess I despise as well, but I kind of see this as taking power away from the
bureaucratic DNR. This is something the people and for the people to decide, not letting the DNR
decide what is good for our deer herd, which historically we know is not the greatest. I have family
and friends all over the state that wish Wisconsin would implement an antler restriction. I recently did
a small policy analysis on this topic and regardless of how poorly the DNR has handled the issuing of
doe tags, an antler restriction may save the herd. Eventually, there would be more bucks and bigger
bucks in the state, meaning more breading. As a result a rise in deer numbers. I do think that if this
ever did happen it should wait until the doe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, as much as I d love to believe that landowners could work together to establish a QDM
program, it just won t happen. A state that could be a model for this is Arkansas. In the late 2000s,
Arkansas implemented an antler restriction throughout the state and for the past three years there
harvest numbers have been very consistent. It is viewed positively in the state. Georgia, Mississippi,
and Alabama also have statewide antler restrictions and their herds are now thriving. Looking at this
from an economic standpoint, an antler restriction may increase the number of hunters in the state
again. In the year 2000, nearly 700,000 hunters bought deer gun licenses. Last year, just over 600,000
people purchased licenses. The number of hunters in this state are declining big time. This means less
money for the DNR and businesses that usually profit from hunting equipment and ammo sales.
People are hunting less because there are no deer and they never see any nice bucks, and this may be a

Licenses in The Networked Information Economy Essay examples
Free and open source software has become an integral part of the modern internet age. As a result of
the threat posed by copyright laws sponsored by proprietary software companies, the free software
community has developed many software licenses to combat copyright and protect the developer.
Many open source licenses have ben used by developers to release their programs to the community.
Some of the most popular licenses are the Apache License, the GNU General Public License (GPL),
and the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). Each of these licenses gives different rights for
the licensor and the user of the license. Each license also has implications on the availability of the
code to the future developer community. The GPL more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The LGPL is a less restrictive copyleft license based, for the most part, on the GPL. One main
difference between the two licenses is the fact that the LGPL allows the use of its licensed libraries to
be used in proprietary software as well as free software (Free Software Foundation, n.d.). Programs
that are licensed under the GPL include the Qt application development system, the RhythmBox
music player, and the Blender 3d modeling program. Programs licensed under the GPL have a wide
developer base and a wide variety of improvements because anyone can access the source code and
release changes to the community.
The Apache Software License was developed by the Apache Software Foundation as an alternative to
the restrictions of the GPL. The Apache License is a much less restrictive license than the GPL or the
LGPL. The main difference between the two licenses is that code under the Apache License can be
used in a proprietary program (Wilson, 2005a). Another difference in the Apace License is the fact that
users of programs licensed under the Apache License do not have to contribute their changes back to
the community, as with the GPL (Metz, 2012). Aside from the Apache web server, Google s Android
Operating System and Hadoop a networked data processing program are licensed under the Apache
License (Metz, 2012). Some proprietary software

The Common Abnormality of Proteinuria in the Liver
I. Introduction
The kidney is one of the most important organs in the human body. It supports and carries many
bodily functions, primarily in excretion of wastes and filtration of the needed nutrients and products to
maintain homeostasis in the body. However, if these two functions fail to do its part in the system, it
will disrupt the its own cycle and will result to some diseases and abnormalities. One of the most
common of these abnormalities is the presence of too much protein in the urine, or commonly known
as Proteinuria.
The kidney is an important organ of the body because it serves as a filter for the wastes in the bodies.
Ideally, urine contains very little amounts of protein. It cannot surpass the perm selectivity of the
glomerulus because proteins are considered as macromolecules; they are too big to be filtered. The
normal amount of protein that should be present in urine is 150mg/day or less, but in some cases, it
exceeds the normal range, which results to a foamy urine. This is what happens in Proteinuria.
II. History/ Overview
Dating back to the time of Hippocrates, whom first inspected and described the presence of bubbles in
the urine, paved way to the discovery of Proteinuria. Various methods sprung out during latter
centuries. One physician who started the study is Frederick Dekkers, sho came up ith idea that that it
as milk that causes the abnormality. But his idea was changed as soon as other physicians prove their
side. One of the most prominent

In order to ensure stability, Rosas implemented many changes in the government, including giving
more power to the governor, which in turn, saved Rosas job for the future, allowing him to become a
tyrant like leader.[14]
Both of these Caudillos illustrate human s crave for power, and the manipulation, deception, and
devilish processes that can be used to maintain this power. We can see both of these men as great
leaders, as they thoroughly accomplished what they decided was best. We can also see them as great
lessons, teaching us of the dangers of leadership and the risks it often involves.
Conclusion
The view of past and present Caudillos will consistently change with the person the view is from.
However, one thing is clear. Juan Manuel de Rosas and Porfirio Diaz were two Caudillos of political
excellence, maintaining a long and influential regime. This was accomplished by both, through their
personal triumphs over the previous government of their nation as well as a triumph over threatening
authorities around and within the nation, such as Diaz regularly jailing those who spoke out against
him or his policies. Rosas and Diaz both knew what they wanted and had valid processes in
accomplishing this; though the moral values of their actions are up to discussion. This situation is
common throughout history, including skilled leaders such as Hitler, Stalin, and Castro. Juan Manuel

Descriptive Essay On A Lake House
My skin soaking up the sun, the water splashing at my face, and the constant wind in my hair are my
favorite little things while on the boat at my lake house. As I sit on the boat I take in every stress free
moment it offers to me. My lake house is on Shafer Lake, which is right in the middle of a small town
Monon, Indiana. Aside from living in Italy, this is where I picture my life after retirement. Lake time

Lake time is always a great time. My little brother repeats after him.
July 5th 2016 was a very hot and very sunny day, it felt as if my skin was being cooked. My family
and I went on the boat and hung out by the sand bar all morning. It s mixed emotions being on the
tube, considering the boat is going about 35 MPH, I m on a tube in the wavy lake, connected by a rope
to the boat. It s hard to focus on one emotion. I m excited and terrified all in one. Although we picture
lake time always being a great time, that July day was not a great time. I remember feeling as if our
bodies were giving in to the sun so we decided to call it a day around 2 PM. We approached the pier to
pull the boat in. Our dock is a parking space in water surrounded by a wooden pier on the sides and
the front. To prevent the boat hitting from the sides, my brothers, my mom, and I will grab the sides of
the pier as my dad steers it.

Speech On Epic Failure
Epic Failure: The Road to Success is Paved with the Stones of Failure. Thomas Edison Said, Our
greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more
time. I guess it s a good thing Nikola Tesla did not give up or we would not have AC power. Failure is
a fact of life and the lessons learned by failure cannot be taught in any college. The only true failure is
the act of giving up. Today I will talk about one of my most epic fails in my real estate business. There
are four basic steps to my business plan. They are research, purchase, rehab, and rent. My very first
acquisition I had not quite refined my plan and it ended in failure. The remarkable thing is that it was
my first lesson in the business. These lessons come often and I continue to recognize them in greater
frequency. The first step in my business plan is to find a property in a given area that is destressed and
may be for sale. This property may be a foreclosure or it may be owned by a bank. One of the ways to
spot a potential property is to drive by the nationhood that you want to purchase property and look for
unkept lawns. If the grass is extremely tall this is a good indicator that the property may be in trouble.
Once I find a property I have a 1.3 percent rule. The rule is 1.3 percent of the total investment should
cover the rent. For example, for a total investment of $100,00.00 I should expect the rent to be around
$1300.00 per month. If the neighborhood average rent is below that amount I will not buy the
property. Once the initial assessment is done and it meets the 1.3% rule I do thorough inspection of the
property to minimize the risk of exceeding the 1.3 percent. One of the main issues I look for is termite
damage to the support beams under the house. The next step after all the research is done is to
purchase the house. This process can be as daunting as the research. If the property is bank owned or
in some sort of foreclosure state ther are some pitfalls to look out for. One of the biggest one is an
unclean or unclear title. The property could have many different types of leans against if before it is
considered clean. After purchasing the property, the next step is renovation. This

The Impact Of Old-Time Radio Era On American Culture

people listening in actually believed that they were listening to a live news report of a sure enough

important to the poem is the revolution will not be brought to you by the Schaefer Award Theatre and

Muscular Endurance
Muscular endurance is very important for people playing sports and who have to sustain an activity
for long periods of time. Muscular endurance is determined by how well your slow twitch muscle
fibers are developed. In case your wondering what slow twitch muscle fibers are, I will explain. There
are generally two types of muscle fibers in your body, slow twitch and fast twitch. Slow twitch muscle
fibers cannot exert as much force as fast twitch, but can sustain an effort over a much greater period of
time. Fast twitch muscle fibers can exert a great amount of force but for a very limited amount of time.
Therefore, slow twitch equals endurance, while fast twitch equals strength. It is important to pay
attention to muscular endurance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Again, a circuit training set up is suitable for this type of resistance training.
Muscular Endurance Long Term
Long term muscular endurance is suitable for continuous, steady state events such as the marathon,
triathlon and rowing that last beyond 2 minutes. Light loads are used so that exercises can be sustained
for a prolonged period. Rest periods are kept to a minimum and ideally the athlete should progress so
that the only rest between exercises is the time it takes to move between equipment.
PRINCIPLES OF MUSCULAR TRAINING
To have a good exercise program, the seven principles of exercise, described in Chapter 1, must be
applied to all muscular endurance and strength training. These principles are overload, progression,
specificity, regularity, recovery, balance, and variety.
OVERLOAD
The overload principle is the basis for all exercise training programs. For a muscle to increase in
strength, the workload to which it is subjected during exercise must be increased beyond what it
normally experiences. In other words, the muscle must be overloaded. Muscles adapt to increased
workloads by becoming larger and stronger and by developing greater endurance.
To understand the principle of overload, it is important to know the following strength training terms:
Full range of motion. To obtain optimal gains, the overload must be applied throughout the full

The Use Of Spinal Cord Neurons From Transgenic Sod1 Mice
Taking a closer look at the cerebrum, allows us to have a better understanding of the dying forward
cascade and its important role in initiating disease onset (Thomsen, et al., 2014). The outer layer of
this complex organ composed of gray matter is the cerebral cortex, region where the corticospinal
neurons related to ALS are located. These upper motor neurons responsible for collecting, integrating,
translating, and transferring information to the spinal cord reside in layer 5 of the motor cortex
(Thomsen, et al., 2014), and are the most vulnerable to be injured by excitotoxicity initiating an
anterograde degeneration. In general, ALS research has devoted less attention to the UMN pathology
primarily focusing on the LMN connectivity with the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) (Thomsen, et al.,
2014). In spite of this remark, recent studies continue to use spinal cord neurons from transgenic
SOD1 mice but their priority has switched to the UMN behavior. On a study using mutant SOD1G39A
rats, (Thomsen, et al., 2014) wanted to establish whether the upper motor neuron might still play a
critical role in disease progression by knocking down mutant SOD1expression in only the motor
cortex. As a consequence of this assay, it was shown for the first time that suppression at the top of the
motor neuron pathway results in significant delay in ALS disease onset. Thus, further highlighting the
importance of the upper motor neurons in ALS (Thomsen, et al., 2014).

The Insanity Of Hamlet And Ophelia
Hamlet is the prince of Denmark, whose uncle and mother betray him. Ophelia, a pure figure in the
play, loves Hamlet, but he and her mind betray her. Through conflicts between their minds, and
interactions with others, the madness of Ophelia and Hamlet progressed into something more than
they could handle. With a lack of support given by their families, or peers, they only spiraled deeper
into themselves. In the play, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the author uses the
characterization of Hamlet and Ophelia s insanity to further illustrate how madness is a vehicle to
truth. Hamlet s delusion begins directly after he learns of his father s death. Immediately, he longs to
avenge the death of his beloved father, the former King Hamlet; as he tries to piece together how this
tragedy occurred, and why his mother marries his uncle, he becomes entangled in his own curiosities.
He feels as though he should approach his mother, and question her; try to bring her into reality, and
make her become aware of the wrong she is doing. In the first scene, after the wedding of Gertrude,
Hamlet s mother, and Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, he falls into deep self pity. He is unable to speak to

High Glycemic Index Diet Associations With Depression
In this review, we highlight the recent findings on high glycemic index diet associations with
depression. We focus on GI, GL, high calorie diet and BMI and describe biological and behavioral
mechanisms in relation to GI Depression
Introduction:
The consumption of sweetened beverages, refined foods, and pastries has been shown to be associated
with an increased risk of depression in longitudinal studies. However, any influence that refined
carbohydrates has on mood could be commensurate with their proportion in the overall diet; studies
are therefore needed that measure overall intakes of carbohydrate and sugar, glycemic index (GI), and
glycemic load.
The glycemic index or glycaemic index (GI) is a number associated with a particular type ... Show

The glycemic load (GL) of food is a number that estimates how much the food will raise a person s
blood glucose level after eating it. One unit of glycemic load approximates the effect of consuming
one gram of glucose. Glycemic load accounts for how much carbohydrate is in the food and how
much each gram of carbohydrate in the food raises blood glucose levels. Glycemic load is based on
the glycemic index (GI), and is calculated by multiplying the grams of available carbohydrate in the
food times the food s GI and then dividing by 100.
Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person s thoughts,
behavior, feelings and sense of well being. People with depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty,
hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, ashamed or restless. They may lose interest in activities
that were once pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating,
remembering details or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt or commit suicide. Insomnia,

The Terrible Corruption Of The Medieval Church
In other words, the Pardoner preached his sermons on greed as to guilt those who listened into being
more generous with their money so he could satisfy his own greed. Chaucer gave this excellent
example of the terrible corruption of the medieval Church in Canterbury Tales. The Middle Ages
spanned from the fall of the Roman Empire in 476 AD through the beginning of the Renaissance. This
was a period of great hypocrisy and darkness within the Church and its leaders. The corruption of the
Church during the Middle Ages can be studied by exploring the effects of the Black Plague, the
resulting corruption within the church, the unbiblical practices that came about, and those who
recognized the corruption and fought to expose it.

Perpetrators: Throughout history, there have been many popes who have promoted these unethical
practices. Pope Boniface VIII is one of the most well known corrupted popes. After making his way
up to the position of pope in 1294, Boniface began his tyrannical leadership. He was in favor of papal
authority which was the belief that the pope has ultimate authority over the whole church and can
exercise it unhindered at any time (Bonsor, Roos). He also felt that he was the supreme authority over
not just the church, but over the emperor as well. Boniface abused his power, waging wars, leading
conquests, and collecting riches for himself. He also feuded for many years with King Philip IV
because he believed the church should not be taxed. Dante Alighieri, an Italian poet, was a personal
enemy of Boniface because he believed that the emperor and pope should share equally distributed
power between them. He also condemned Boniface s participation in simony. Later, Boniface s
careless actions resulted in Dante s exile; therefore, Dante reserved a place for Pope Boniface VIII in
the eighth circle of hell in his work Inferno for his disgraceful acts against him and the church. In
addition to the damage Pope Boniface VIII caused the medieval church, Pope Alexander VI further
contributed to the Church s downfall.

The Importance Of Saying All Lives Matter
I strongly dislike when people lack understanding. When it comes to the Black Lives Matter
movement, why are people quick to raise All Lives Matter ? Instead of trying to understand the
hardship and racism that African Americans face, people are quick to be defensive and assume that if
Black lives matter then all of a sudden now no one elses lives matter. Saying All Lives Matter is a
selfish sentiment showing that people lack a level of compassion when it comes to an issue that does
not address them. I think that this an inhuman and wrong way of thinking. I believe that having
abortions are wrong because that is destroying a life created by God. I think that there are natural ways
to prevent pregnancy such as natural family planning where

Piety In Confucianism
In truth, filial piety, humaneness and reciprocity are three main ideas, which plays very important role
in Confucianism. To begin with, Confucius is a famous philosopher who gave advices to the rulers and
individuals on their behaviors. Worth to mention, Confucius s teachings were complied in the Analects
after his death. Moreover, Filial Piety means respect for one s parents, and most people is familiar
with that idea in Confucianism. From what I learnt in China, filial is the starting point of virtue. In
addition, I think filial piety is necessary in a family, and the children should show the respect to their
parents. Another importance virtue is reciprocity, which means one should reply what another person
has provided. Furthermore, reciprocity

Designing A Business Plan For A Future Bed And Breakfast
I am in the process of designing a business plan for a future bed and breakfast that I would like to
open in a couple of years. I would like to purchase some land outside of Austin, TX in order to build
this bed and breakfast. I plan on starting this company with a partner, my younger sister, Mercy. We
want to know if we should start a general partnership, with both of us as a general partner, or a limited
partnership, with me as the general partner and Mercy as the limited partner.
In addition to the type of partnership we are considering establishing, we have already decided that we
will be using the entity theory of partnerships, which regards partnerships as a distinct and separate
entity from either of us, the partners. As such, both Mercy and I will be able to enter into taxable
transactions with the partnership. And this means that the partnership can hold the title to the land, is
not legally liable for our (the partners) debts, and is required to file annual returns using the Form
1065 reporting operation results.
Our main question is that we would like to know what type of debt we should take out in order to
establish this partnership and be able to finance the land in which to build the bed and breakfast. We
want to know, and understand, the difference between recourse debt and non recourse debt and how it
pertains to a partnership as well as to the individual partners. We would also like to know which of
these two types would be the best type of debt to incur

Sport Injuries
Sport Injuries
Injuries are a crucial issue throughout the sports world and affect most players futures. Athletes are
concerned of getting severely hurt or having their lives be at risk. Many players have the chance to
prevent their injuries, but yet they never do. Families must discuss with the athlete about whether it is
safe and enforce the rules to stop injuries such as concussions. More protection could also be worn to
prevent broken bones or worse and also stretching to strengthen muscles. Injuries have increased a
tremendous amount throughout the years because many players have stopped wearing the correct
amount of protection and taking care of themselves.

Many families do fear getting a concussion which is why contact sports have less participants,
although modern protection is specially made to reduce injuries. One way to solve the issue is to
explain to parents that it is the kids decision because it is their life and if the kid wants to play football,
than they should be able to with the exception of whether the guardian can afford it. Parents must also
take into account why their child wants to play football. Is it for their fun or for the fun of the parent
(UWIRE 1)? Rules should also be enforced which causes players to think about their actions and if
they do hurt a player, there is a consequence. In addition, parents do have somewhat of a say and can
have a discussion about the child s decision, but, it is also what the child wants to do and like UWIRE
stated, it s for the kids

The Conflict of Gene Patents
Patents are licenses granted by the government that give permission to an inventor the right to rent,
hire, or sell his invention. In the science community gene patents have created conflict between those
who believe that patents have helped science and those who believe it is actually hindering science
advances. Genes are important because they are the heredity of a living organism and it is given from
a parent to their offspring. Scientist study genes to find cures for the many diseases found in the
world. Unfortunately gene patents focus on the commercial side, therefore I believe gene patents
should be banned. In this essay, I will outline arguments for and against gene patents. There have been
many cases that have raised the public s awareness over gene patents. It was recently brought to
attention again in the case of Association for
Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics (2013), when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that companies
cannot patent naturally occurring forms of DNA; they can only patent artificial produced DNA.
Naturally occurring genes are genes found on living organisms while artificial genes are products of
genetic material that occur when a gene has been isolated and they cannot be found in an organism.
There are many commercial uses of gene sequences for example in agriculture a particular product
such as rice contains genes once scientist isolates and clones them, he can find uses for those genes,
such as being able immune to particular

The Scottsboro Trial
The Scottsboro Trials were among the largest legal injustices in the South. The events that started the
trials began in the early spring of 1931, when nine young black men were falsely accused of raping
two white women on a train. The cases were tried and appealed in Alabama and twice argued before
the U.S. Supreme Court. The state pursued the case and all white juries delivered guilty verdicts that
initially carried the death penalty. Several of the accused were sentenced to prison terms and all had
long stays in prison as the case made its way through the legal system. The case later was one of the
inspirations for Harper Lee s book To Kill A Mockingbird The story began on March 25, 1931, when a
fight broke out between groups of young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following the verdict, another of the defendants, Ozzie Powell, was shot in the head after attacking a
deputy sheriff in an apparent escape attempt. After Patterson s conviction was upheld in the Alabama
Supreme Court, the prosecution and the Scottsboro Defense Committee agreed to a strange
compromise in an effort to end the long ordeal. Clarence Norris was convicted of rape and sentenced
to death; Norris sentence was subsequently commuted to life imprisonment by Alabama governor.
Andy Wright and Charlie Weems also were convicted of rape and sentenced to lengthy prison terms.
Rape charges were dropped against Powell, but he was convicted of assaulting the deputy sheriff and
sentenced to 20 years. Meanwhile, all charges against the other four defendants Roy Wright, Olen
Montgomery, Willie Roberson, and Eugene Williams were dropped. Thus, on the basis of the same
body of evidence, four defendants were freed and four convicted. In 1938 a final attempt to win the
remaining prisoners freedom failed when both the Alabama Pardon Board and governor Graves denied
pardon applications. Charlie Weems was paroled in 1943; Clarence Norris and Andy Wright were
paroled a year later but both were sent back to prison shortly thereafter for violating the terms of their
probation; Ozzie Powell was paroled in 1946; Haywood Patterson escaped from prison in 1948.

Dimethyl Furan A Potential Candidate For Gasoline
Dimethyl furan a potential candidate for gasoline Biofuels are an essential commodity when it comes
to reducing carbon emissions from transportation. The production of biofuels produced from raw
materials will ensure the availability of biofuels to maintain the biofuel industry What are biofuels? A
biofuel is a liquid, solid or any gaseous fuel derived from organic matter such as waste plant and
animal matter. (Biofuels Assosiation Australia , 2014) Did you know wood was the first form of
biofuel ever used? Biofuels are commonly referred to as first generation biofuels, because they are
produced from a large variety of organic materials such as starch, sugary plants, corn, wheat, sugar
cane, soybeans, and vegetable oils, using conventional technology. The main biofuels include
bioethanol and biodiesel. Bioethanol is used as a replacement for petrol, whilst biodiesel is used as a
replacement for diesel (greenfacts, 2014). Biofuels maintain an immense growth area around the
world and have a vital mrole to play in displacing fossil fuels. Due to environmental concerns and
volatility of oil supply, the development of alternative fuels is crucial to the future of the transport
sector. A potential biofuel that can be of great assistence in the future is 2, 5 Dimethylfuran (C6H8O)
which can be used as an alternative to gasoline (fossil fuel). The chemical formula for dimethyl furan
is C6H8O. Dimethylfuran is a biomass derived from Furan, which is an aromatic

  • 2. Management Information Systems ( Mis ) MIS in US: Top ranking universities with average GRE scores Management Information Systems (MIS) has become a rapidly sought after specialization in the past few decades. But the roots, of this specialization, are definitely not that new. Let s say, even Chitragupta, the god of scribes, was practicing MIS while keeping track of the deeds of humans, you know, for purposes of creating a database for good and bad karma. So, as you might have guessed already, MIS has to do with managing information. Without good practices of record keeping and utilizing that record, Chitragupta s ledger could have missed out on meting out fairly deserved karma kickbacks. What has changed, since the mythological age to the Information age, is the way information can be shared and manipulated. Since early 1900s, business owners were using ledgers and punch cards to keep track of sales, data, finances, etc [1] until they were replaced by computers, using less cumbersome, more efficient database systems. With the internet, sweeping us of our feet, in the 90s, information realized a bigger, much easier, platform for getting shared. Lately cloud sharing has made information immensely more mobile and accessible. Parallel to the growth, of the playing field of information, the need for trained professionals, to manage the information, grew. Now, top Universities in the US, offer some of the most well structured, well established departments for training future business managers [2]. What sort of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Wycherley Essay The restoration era of theatre was a unique period of time for iconic practitioners and actors to revitalise the love for drama after an 18 year ban enforced by the reign of the Puritans, one of these practitioners being William Wycherley. Wycherley was born in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom, just a year before the Puritans took thrown of the English Parliament in 1642. He grew up with his family as middle class citizens with an exceptional property until he was 15 where Wycherleys parents figured it would be that his son would get his education outside of their home town and therefore sent him off to France where he would grow up to become one of the most recognisable comedic writers of the late 17th century. Consequently, Wycherleys constant use of these short jokes brought popularity back to the use of them and has been adapted to modern theatre which can be seen in comedy movies or sitcom television shows. Therefore, with technology moving forward and hackers being more motivated as ever, the government finds itself struggling to keep up with effective cybersecurity measures and with filling up the designated positions in the Cybersecurity department. Don t get me wrong the government already follows this policy to some extent but they should try use it more. As I said before, these are all great goals for the next few years but what has been done since this new EO was established? In August 2017, the SecurityScoreCard Security Research Team released the analysis done on 552 local, state and federal government organizations. They found that the government was lagging on replacing outdated softwares, patching, individual endpoint defense and IP address activities that showed that they may have been compromised (SSC Research Team, 2017). These are all vulnerabilities that if worked on, would fix most of the problems in the government. Which bring my next issue. • 6. I Designed My Lesson Plan a.) I designed my lesson plan to be used in first and second grade. This lesson plan was designed to be a cross curriculum lesson about spiders that incorporates the following subject areas: Science, Language Arts, and Visual/Performance Arts. This lesson will be taught during the month of October after students have gained prior knowledge through an insect unit that was taught the month before. (b.) The content object that I used in this lesson was for students to be able to identify important information about spiders. I think that providing students with background knowledge prior (teaching a month long unit on insects) would assist students when it comes time to do a unit on spiders. I think that the most challenging aspect for this lesson would be the vocabulary words. The vocabulary list that I have complied varies in difficulty and I believe that some of the words would be more challenging to some of the students. I would ensure that these words were taught previously in the insect unit in order for students to become familiar with these words. I would also have prior knowledge of my student s abilities and provide individualized word lists that match the student s ability. In addition, I would stock the student library with a variety of books about spiders that contain the vocabulary words, and utilize various center activities to reinforce the lesson objectives for this unit. The content object that I created is both measureable and observable and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A mutualistic relationship between a government and its people is clear in almost every society in the world, yet, the dominance one entity has over the other varies from case to case. The United States foundation is based upon the fact that the Government works for the people in which actual citizens take part in maintaining a fair, unified authority, but this modern democracy has many pros and cons and is still not agreeably the best form of government. The most shocking part of the novel in which doublethink is implemented is when the Party suddenly announces that Oceania is at war with Eastasia and no longer Eurasia. The part that is shocking is that once the announcement is made about the change of countries, the people unquestionably change their previous hate towards Eastasia and immediately despise their once allies Eurasia. The unconditioned trust in the government truly shows how brainwashed the population is, and because of this trust the society is able to function successfully. The true patriotism of the citizens facilitates a lack of anguish over the harsh injustices from the government; everyone in Oceania is content with a brutal lifestyle and none dare to revolt against The Party. Winston shares how society functions successfully behind such a corrupt government when he says, In a way, the world−view of the Party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it ... By lack of understanding they remained sane. They simply swallowed everything, and what they swallowed did them no harm, because it left no residue behind (Orwell). Since the decisions that are made in society are done completely by the government, the citizens of Oceania have to absorb whatever the Party announces as fact. Before Equiano s narrative, slaves were a faceless mass with no individuality or humanity to speak of. His slave narrative put an individual, educated, Christian face to the ongoing brutality. Although both Rowlandson and Equiano s narratives were the first and most influential narratives at the time they were written, the differences between the two are much more significant than their similarities. The most noticeable difference between the two narratives is the portrayal of the captors. While Rowlandson demonized her captors and dwelled on every slight that she received, and even though Equiano received much worse from some of the white men that he encountered, he often wrote of his admiration for them, their education, and the friendship that was bestowed upon him. Equiano even wrote of one boy who was particularly nice to him, I regarded [him] ... as ... my friend, whom I loved, and grieved for, as a brother (691). The differences in this portrayal can be directly ascribed to the different purposes with which the narratives were written. Rowlandson demonized the Indians partly because she was writing to the Colonialists in an attempt to strengthen the Colonialists hatred of the Native Americans. In this case it would not have been logical to write of their virtues. Equiano, however, was trying to get his captors to sympathize with his cause. While it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She uses a journal written by Thomas Jefferson to explain how deeply entrenched in their daily lives taverns and drinking were: Thomas Jefferson noted with alarm that cheap distilled spirits were spreading through the mass of our citizens, yet he is credited with inventing the presidential cocktail party (3). Despite any negativity surrounding drinking, its growth in popularity was unstoppable. She also adds the fact that water was considered an unsafe beverage , which partially explains the reason for alcohol s rise to popularity and appearance in the daily lives of early Americans. This increase in drinking also lead to the tavern culture and the need to regulate it, which brings in the lawmaking side. The thesis of Salinger s book and research states, Colonial taverns and hotels that developed from elite taverns manifested an American society that maintained segregation in public by race, gender, and class (245). Disadvantages Of Geothermal Energy Introduction Over the past several years the realization of a limited amount of renewable resources has pushed for a more environmentally friendly form of utilities. This realization has shifted the mindset of the consumer to prefer a more green and economical utility free home using sustainable energy sources. The scientists at Whole Life Energy are analyzing the use of geothermal energy to meet the requirements of our consumers and environment. This report covers what geothermal energy is, different types of geothermal energy, and geothermal energy advantages. What is Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy is the routing of liquid filled tubing underneath the Earth s surface to absorb heat. A small pump is used to circulate the liquid, so the heat can be extracted in the home or business. The earth absorbs and stores about half the suns energy. Due to this massive absorption, the earth maintains a fairly constant temperature of 45 70 degrees Fahrenheit at a depth of 6 feet (Rinkesh, 2017). This constant temperature will allow our company to tap into a never ending supply of heat production. Depending on the size of facility needing heating will determine the depth of the tubing required to draw the appropriate energy. The EPA states, farther below the surface, the temperature increases at an average rate of approximately 1°F for every 70 feet in depth (Renewable Heating and Cooling, 2016). Impact Of Oc On Employee Performance Impact of OC on employee/organisational performance There is a common consensus that employees behaviours are shaped by their culture (Denison, 1984, Furnham and Gunter, 1993). Organisational performance (which is derived from employee performance) or success implies to the contributions or productivity of employees of an organisation. • 28. The Common Abnormality of Proteinuria in the Liver I. Introduction The kidney is one of the most important organs in the human body. It supports and carries many bodily functions, primarily in excretion of wastes and filtration of the needed nutrients and products to maintain homeostasis in the body. However, if these two functions fail to do its part in the system, it will disrupt the its own cycle and will result to some diseases and abnormalities. One of the most common of these abnormalities is the presence of too much protein in the urine, or commonly known as Proteinuria. The kidney is an important organ of the body because it serves as a filter for the wastes in the bodies. Ideally, urine contains very little amounts of protein. It cannot surpass the perm selectivity of the glomerulus because proteins are considered as macromolecules; they are too big to be filtered. The normal amount of protein that should be present in urine is 150mg/day or less, but in some cases, it exceeds the normal range, which results to a foamy urine. This is what happens in Proteinuria. II. History/ Overview Dating back to the time of Hippocrates, whom first inspected and described the presence of bubbles in the urine, paved way to the discovery of Proteinuria. Various methods sprung out during latter centuries. One physician who started the study is Frederick Dekkers, sho came up ith idea that that it as milk that causes the abnormality. We can see both of these men as great leaders, as they thoroughly accomplished what they decided was best. We can also see them as great lessons, teaching us of the dangers of leadership and the risks it often involves. Conclusion The view of past and present Caudillos will consistently change with the person the view is from. However, one thing is clear. Juan Manuel de Rosas and Porfirio Diaz were two Caudillos of political excellence, maintaining a long and influential regime. This was accomplished by both, through their personal triumphs over the previous government of their nation as well as a triumph over threatening authorities around and within the nation, such as Diaz regularly jailing those who spoke out against him or his policies. Rosas and Diaz both knew what they wanted and had valid processes in accomplishing this; though the moral values of their actions are up to discussion. This situation is common throughout history, including skilled leaders such as Hitler, Stalin, and Castro. Juan Manuel de Rosas and Porfirio Diaz display

Descriptive Essay On A Lake House My skin soaking up the sun, the water splashing at my face, and the constant wind in my hair are my favorite little things while on the boat at my lake house. As I sit on the boat I take in every stress free moment it offers to me. My lake house is on Shafer Lake, which is right in the middle of a small town Monon, Indiana. Aside from living in Italy, this is where I picture my life after retirement. Lake time is always a great time. Dad says. Lake time is always a great time. My little brother repeats after him. July 5th 2016 was a very hot and very sunny day, it felt as if my skin was being cooked. My family and I went on the boat and hung out by the sand bar all morning. It s mixed emotions being on the tube, considering the boat is going about 35 MPH, I m on a tube in the wavy lake, connected by a rope to the boat. It s hard to focus on one emotion. I m excited and terrified all in one. Although we picture lake time always being a great time, that July day was not a great time. I remember feeling as if our bodies were giving in to the sun so we decided to call it a day around 2 PM. We approached the pier to pull the boat in. Our dock is a parking space in water surrounded by a wooden pier on the sides and the front. To prevent the boat hitting from the sides, my brothers, my mom, and I will grab the sides of the pier as my dad steers it. Jess wake up! My mother shouted in hopes I wake up to help dock the boat. • 32. Speech On Epic Failure Epic Failure: The Road to Success is Paved with the Stones of Failure. Thomas Edison Said, Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. I guess it s a good thing Nikola Tesla did not give up or we would not have AC power. Failure is a fact of life and the lessons learned by failure cannot be taught in any college. The only true failure is the act of giving up. Today I will talk about one of my most epic fails in my real estate business. There are four basic steps to my business plan. They are research, purchase, rehab, and rent. My very first acquisition I had not quite refined my plan and it ended in failure. The remarkable thing is that it was my first lesson in the business. These lessons come often and I continue to recognize them in greater frequency. The first step in my business plan is to find a property in a given area that is destressed and may be for sale. This property may be a foreclosure or it may be owned by a bank. One of the ways to spot a potential property is to drive by the nationhood that you want to purchase property and look for unkept lawns. If the grass is extremely tall this is a good indicator that the property may be in trouble. Once I find a property I have a 1.3 percent rule. The rule is 1.3 percent of the total investment should cover the rent. For example, for a total investment of $100,00.00 I should expect the rent to be around $1300.00 per month. If the neighborhood average rent is below that amount I will not buy the property. Once the initial assessment is done and it meets the 1.3% rule I do thorough inspection of the property to minimize the risk of exceeding the 1.3 percent. One of the main issues I look for is termite damage to the support beams under the house. The next step after all the research is done is to purchase the house. This process can be as daunting as the research. If the property is bank owned or in some sort of foreclosure state ther are some pitfalls to look out for. One of the biggest one is an unclean or unclear title. The property could have many different types of leans against if before it is considered clean. After purchasing the property, the next step is renovation. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Slow twitch muscle fibers cannot exert as much force as fast twitch, but can sustain an effort over a much greater period of time. Rest periods are kept to a minimum and ideally the athlete should progress so that the only rest between exercises is the time it takes to move between equipment. PRINCIPLES OF MUSCULAR TRAINING To have a good exercise program, the seven principles of exercise, described in Chapter 1, must be applied to all muscular endurance and strength training. These principles are overload, progression, specificity, regularity, recovery, balance, and variety. OVERLOAD The overload principle is the basis for all exercise training programs. For a muscle to increase in strength, the workload to which it is subjected during exercise must be increased beyond what it normally experiences. In other words, the muscle must be overloaded. The Use Of Spinal Cord Neurons From Transgenic Sod1 Mice Taking a closer look at the cerebrum, allows us to have a better understanding of the dying forward cascade and its important role in initiating disease onset (Thomsen, et al., 2014). The outer layer of this complex organ composed of gray matter is the cerebral cortex, region where the corticospinal neurons related to ALS are located. These upper motor neurons responsible for collecting, integrating, translating, and transferring information to the spinal cord reside in layer 5 of the motor cortex (Thomsen, et al., 2014), and are the most vulnerable to be injured by excitotoxicity initiating an anterograde degeneration. In general, ALS research has devoted less attention to the UMN pathology primarily focusing on the LMN connectivity with the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) (Thomsen, et al., 2014). In spite of this remark, recent studies continue to use spinal cord neurons from transgenic SOD1 mice but their priority has switched to the UMN behavior. On a study using mutant SOD1G39A rats, (Thomsen, et al., 2014) wanted to establish whether the upper motor neuron might still play a critical role in disease progression by knocking down mutant SOD1expression in only the motor cortex. As a consequence of this assay, it was shown for the first time that suppression at the top of the motor neuron pathway results in significant delay in ALS disease onset. With a lack of support given by their families, or peers, they only spiraled deeper into themselves. In the play, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the author uses the characterization of Hamlet and Ophelia s insanity to further illustrate how madness is a vehicle to truth. Clarence Norris was convicted of rape and sentenced to death; Norris sentence was subsequently commuted to life imprisonment by Alabama governor. Andy Wright and Charlie Weems also were convicted of rape and sentenced to lengthy prison terms. Rape charges were dropped against Powell, but he was convicted of assaulting the deputy sheriff and sentenced to 20 years. Meanwhile, all charges against the other four defendants Roy Wright, Olen Montgomery, Willie Roberson, and Eugene Williams were dropped. Thus, on the basis of the same body of evidence, four defendants were freed and four convicted. In 1938 a final attempt to win the remaining prisoners freedom failed when both the Alabama Pardon Board and governor Graves denied pardon applications. Charlie Weems was paroled in 1943; Clarence Norris and Andy Wright were paroled a year later but both were sent back to prison shortly thereafter for violating the terms of their probation; Ozzie Powell was paroled in 1946; Haywood Patterson escaped from prison in 1948. • 51. Dimethyl Furan A Potential Candidate For Gasoline Dimethyl furan a potential candidate for gasoline Biofuels are an essential commodity when it comes to reducing carbon emissions from transportation. The production of biofuels produced from raw materials will ensure the availability of biofuels to maintain the biofuel industry What are biofuels? A biofuel is a liquid, solid or any gaseous fuel derived from organic matter such as waste plant and animal matter. (Biofuels Assosiation Australia , 2014) Did you know wood was the first form of biofuel ever used? Biofuels are commonly referred to as first generation biofuels, because they are produced from a large variety of organic materials such as starch, sugary plants, corn, wheat, sugar cane, soybeans, and vegetable oils, using conventional technology. The main biofuels include bioethanol and biodiesel. Bioethanol is used as a replacement for petrol, whilst biodiesel is used as a replacement for diesel (greenfacts, 2014). Biofuels maintain an immense growth area around the world and have a vital mrole to play in displacing fossil fuels. Due to environmental concerns and volatility of oil supply, the development of alternative fuels is crucial to the future of the transport sector. A potential biofuel that can be of great assistence in the future is 2, 5 Dimethylfuran (C6H8O) which can be used as an alternative to gasoline (fossil fuel). The chemical formula for dimethyl furan is C6H8O. Dimethylfuran is a biomass derived from Furan, which is an aromatic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
