This document discusses post-colonialism, cultural studies, and globalization. It defines post-colonialism as analyzing the cultural legacies of colonialism and imperialism, as well as addressing the oppression of non-European races. Cultural studies in a globalizing age examines how local cultures are influenced by the possibility of a global market and financed by non-local money. Examples are given of Bollywood films being financed by non-resident Indians and their popularity abroad extending Indian culture. The relationship between local cultures and global markets is seen as mostly colonial, where local cultures are exploited to serve first world markets.

STUDIES
• It is an academic discipline featuring method of
intellectual discourse that analyze, explain and respond
to the cultural legacies of colonialism and imperialism.
• It is concerned with the oppression of Non-European
races by European ones.
• It is concerned with creating space for subaltern and
marginalized group.
• It can be also seen as continuation of colonialism
through Globalization.

• Globalization implies the opening of
local and nationalistic perspectives to a
broader outlook of an interconnected
and interdependent world with free
transfer of capital, goods and services
across national frontiers.

4. GLOBALIZATION IN CULTURAL STUDIES

• It adapt and appropriates local culture.
• For example:- Current phase of Globalization is one of
the colonial process.
• Globalization it also names a new protocol of writing
and teaching in the humanities and social science.
