making a sense for associations with respect to clients decisions. Later on an association can utilize
that item or administration to promote through other media also.
Additionally, a huge part is being played by online networking and that is the advancement of
International marking. Online networking has made the world littler which has demonstrated a
worldwide consciousness of the association s image. With expanding open doors through

Mathematics and its Relation with Music and its Harmonics
Ever since c. 17th century, musical compositions have manipulated the standard aspects of music,
which include rhythm and melody. More importantly, many musical compositions have incorporated
complex math within, for examples again, melodies and rhythms that create a uniqueness that has yet
to be perfectly matched by other composers. One other key aspect of music in general, harmony, is
where a fairly complex mathematical formula is involved: the harmonic mean. Because harmony is a
major component of music, it is no surprise that this harmonic mean can be applied to nearly all types
of music. Basically, a harmonic mean as it applies to music ~is any possible division between an
original note and the octave of that note that produces a different note. With that, there is a sequence in
the divisions between a note and its octave that is not very consistent in distance from the original
note. One instrument in particular that can demonstrate this type of mean is the vioiin because of the
harmonic tones produced whenever a finger is pressed on a string. At certain points on a string.
different notes are produced by the harmonics of the upper and iower naives of the string, which
would be examples of harmonic means.
The diagram above is of a D string on a violin from the beginning of the neck where the string first
crosses the neck to where the string touches the bridge. The halfway notation marks the most
prominent harmonic mean on a violin: the octave. Its harmonic mean is 1/2

Implementation Of The Dayton Agreement
This paper analyzes the Dayton Peace Accords initialed in Dayton, Ohio, and later signed in Paris. The
Dayton agreement was an augmentation of and or arguably a follow up result of the previously
pursued peace efforts and processes (Church, para 1), this paper, however, will only focus on the
negotiation process that took place in the US, which resulted in attainment of the Dayton Agreement.
The negotiation process will be analyzed within a combined framework of Habeeb s Formula Detail
Approach and mediation detailed by Pruitt and Kim, both of which will serve as the primary and
overarching basis for this analysis. However, relevant course materials will be used as deemed
necessary while analyzing various aspects of the negotiation process such as the strategies employed
by the negotiating parties, and the complexities special to this case, which expanded the mediating
role of the US to tackle important barriers in order to reach an agreement.
The Negotiation Framework: Habeeb reviews the literature on the common processes used in
negotiations and thus agreeing with Zartman, advocates the formal detail approach. Zartman s
approach is well structured and parsimonious. The concession and convergence school of analysis
developed the offer counteroffer (Habbeeb 27) structure for the negotiation process. The approach is
grounded in the notion that the negotiating parties make demands, propose new solution, make
concessions, and evaluate concession behavior and reactions

The Wrath Of God Vs. Big Brother
The Wrath of God vs. Big Brother: Observational Effects of Cooperation in the Dictator Game (2000
words)
General overview of plan
A consistent finding within the paradigm of experimental games is that humans reward others who
behave cooperatively and fairly (Gächter, Renner Sefton, 2008, Zimring, 1971) and often impose
sanctions on those who fail to do so (Guala, 2012, Bankston Cramer, 1974). One potential means of
implementing and maintaining fairness is through the maintenance of a cultural norm of fairness (Fehr
Fischbacher, 2004). As human societies are often predicated repeated cooperative behaviours between
genetically unrelated individuals (McKay, Efferson, Whitehouse Fehr, 2010) one possible explanation
for large scale cooperation is through the reinforcement of behaviours that preserve social and moral
standards and punishment of behaviours which are associated with norm violations (Carpenter,
Matthews Ong ong a, 2004, Falk, Fehr Fischbacher, 2005, Hopfensitz Reuben 2009, Casari Luini
2012). One way of enforcing these norms is through the use of belief in supernatural agents (Ahmed
Salas, 2008). It has been suggested by some researchers that individuals with a belief in a form of
supernatural punishment can be used to promote prosocial behaviour (Norenzayan Shariff, 2008) and
can be achieved via due to two possible proximate mechanisms. Individuals who hold a belief in an
omnibenevolent being primes cultural norms which are associated with

1) Which of the six colors of the rainbow is refracted the greatest?
Out of the 7 colors of the rainbow, Violet is refracted the greatest.
2) What is a mirage and why does it always disappear as the observer gets closer?
A mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays are bent to produce a
displaced image of distant objects or the sky. Mirages appear at very low viewing angles, when you
are far away. As you approach, the viewing angle increases and the mirage disappears, or moves
farther away. The reflection of heat dissipates in the human eye causing the mirage or blur to vanish.

The same cloud that is not fog on lower ground may be fog where it contacts higher ground such as
hilltops or mountain ridges. A cloud is a visible mass of condensed droplets or ice crystals suspended
in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth or another planetary body. The branch of
meteorology in which clouds are studied is nephrology.
13) If you see towering puffy clouds in the afternoon, you are probably seeing what kind of cloud?
A cumulonimbus Cloud.
What does this mean for the weather forecast this afternoon and early evening?
Cumulonimbus clouds are mostly affiliated with thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rainfall, blizzard or
hail. The forecast should reflect rain or chances of rain.
14) What is a weather satellite and how does it help us make forecasts?
A weather satellite is used by meteorologists to gather information about the weather. Weather
satellites give meteorologists a view of weather patterns over a very large area. This enables
meteorologists to track large weather patterns and make more accurate predictions of future weather
behavior.
15) How do computers help weather forecasting?
Using computers in meteorology helps weather forecasters analyze the atmosphere by drawing
weather maps separately for each of several atmospheric levels. Then the computer can put it all
together and generate a prediction.
Can we just let the computer tell us what the weather will be without human

This means that Arcadia Group is a very stable company and its leaders should not worry about
taxation policy in the future.
Political factors also cover such areas as competition policy, environmental legislation, employment
law, stability of the political system, trade restriction and tariffs etc. According to www.hoovers.com,
the main competitors for Arcadia Group are Next PLC, Marcs amp; Spencer group PLC and
Debenhams. These companies are also very popular and successful not only in the UK, but also in
other European countries. As Worthington and Britton claim (2006), UK government competition
policy has largely been concerned with regulating market behaviour and in particular with controlling
potential abuses of market power by firms acting singly or in concert in specific markets. In the future
Arcadia Group will not become a monopoly, because of such strong competitors and a very strict UK
government competition policy.
Concerning environmental problems Arcadia Group has a responsibility to lower the impact on the
environment. The company makes every effort to reduce consumption of valuable resources such as
energy, water and fuel. They are constantly developing ways to increase the efficiency and reduce fuel
consumption in their transport operations. And company is working hard to ensure they lower

Understanding The Language Spoken Throughout Their Eyes...
Bond analyzes the language spoken throughout Their Eyes Were Watching God as appropriate and
crucial to understanding Afro American literature. Hurston s skill in dialect writing emphasizes the
cultural tradition within the south. Not only does Hurston demonstrate black oral tradition, but she
also utilizes southern dialect to critique a male dominated society. Hurston uses literary references,
such as the pear tree to scrutinize her awakening self love. These illustrations that occur in notable
occasions of the novel are signified by the citizens of Eatonville. Lige Moss sheds light on Tony
Taylor s rhetorical inadequacy, just as Janie demonstrates her oration skills to expose the male
tradition of signifying. Her expressive rhetoric angers Joe because It is he who had aspired to being a
big voice, a status dependent on the submissive silence of his wife (46). Women are expected to keep
their mouths shut, so when Janie breaks this cultural boundary she is looked down upon. Bond further
analyzes this signifying game by giving examples of women being used as objects rather than
speakers. Janie s marriage to Joe initially represents the lack of voice women have until Janie uses
figurative language to displace his power figure. Through the utilization of rhetoric, Janie is able to
free herself from the hierarchical sexual difference prescribed within the roles of her marriage (49).
Janie s demise of Joe represents a huge step towards competitive figurative speech.

Miss Julie Character Analysis
Our attitude towards what is normal in terms of gender as well as social class has changed
dramatically from the Victorian Era into the Modern Era. During the Victorian Era, women had clearly
defined roles as housewives, mothers, caretakers, and mediators, however, this all began to change
during the modern era as the ideology and morals shifted over time and women began to take on a
more flexible and dynamic role. Through the presentation of Julie and Jean s nontraditional characters
in the play Miss Julie, August Strindberg explores the themes of class and gender dynamic during the
late Victorian era to be one that is shifting. The 1889 play took place in an elaborately decorated estate
that is home to a Count and his daughter, Miss Julie. Miss Julie s engagement recently ended and she
finds herself in the estate kitchen one evening and has an affair with one of the servants, Jean, who is
engaged to another servant, Christine. Julie and Jean end up dancing together before they disappear to
Jean s bedroom, and then making plans to run away and begin a hotel business together. They discuss
the harsh realities from their childhood and reveal secrets to each other over the course of their night
together. Jean talks about growing up poor and how he would admire Miss Julie when she was little.
Miss Julie discusses the trouble between her mother and father that brought along her hatred of men.

The Age Discrimination And Employment Act Of 967 ( Adea )...
Employees over the age of 40 are protected under law from discrimination under the Age
Discrimination and Employment Act of 967 (ADEA). However, that does not change the beliefs of
some organizations that employees over the age of 40 are not as beneficial or productive as those
younger than the age of 40. Communication skills are important to any organization and employees
are expected to be professional and be able to express their ideas and opinions in that manner. Good
communication skills are not limited to one area, to be an effective communicator you must be a good
listener, be able to read body language as well as express your ideas verbally and in written form.
Employees older the age of 40, have not grown up with the technology that we have today and have
relied more on hand written, typed, face to face and verbal communication in a way much different
than today. Because staff members over the age of 40 have spent their careers in a more formal work
environment, the communication that they prefer tends to be more formal as well. Social media a
fairly new way of communication that has grown significantly over the past decade and while can be a
very beneficial way of communicating, it can also affect an employee negatively. The tendency to post
a status about a bad day or something that may have not been for public release could harm the
company or the employee s relationship with coworkers. Generations before the millennials have not

Devolution In Uk
Even though Conservatives in particular believe it may lead to the break up of the UK because
demands for independence will be fuelled by devolution. It was argued that demand for devolution
was over exaggerated, especially in Wales, so it was unnecessary. It creates an extra layer of
government which will lead to confusion and increase costs to the taxpayer. In Scotland it was feared
that taxes there would inevitably rise because Scotland is less prosperous than the UK as a whole.
Nationalists have argued that devolution does not go far enough. British government has retained all
the important powers for itself. Nationalists also argue they should have a separate voice in Europe,

more efficient government. Centralised government is overloaded, leading to delays and is unable to
focus on the problems facing specific regions. An article in the Economist in November 1995 made
this point strongly, Experts in Whitehall, rather like central planners in the former Soviet Union,
simply do not have the information or knowledge to make the right decisions for every part of Britain.
Mistakes made by central government are big, harder to reverse, and so more costly. The argument for
strengthening local government is simple. It is that solutions to local problems.......ought instead to be

The Fall of the House of Usher Analysis
The Fall of the House of Usher Review
The Fall of the House of Usher is a short story written by Edger Allan Poe in 1839. Almost everything
about the story is very gloomy, dark and depressing. For example, the house is described by the
narrator as the melancholy House of Usher and the description of Roderick Usher himself makes you
think of a corpse. This theme of dreariness and sorrow pervades the story and is done to a very
chilling effect, which really draws in the reader. The Fall of the House of Usher has lots of necessary
elements of a traditional Gothic tale: a dreary landscape, a haunted house, mysterious characters, etc.,
but for all of these elements, the vagueness of the story is a large part of the ... Show more content on

I felt creeping upon me, by slow yet uncertain degrees, the wild influence of his own fantastic yet
impressive superstitions. This shows that, although he is an educated and analytical man, he is
susceptible to other influences. He tries to suppress his fears and help his friend throughout the story
and is successful until, at the very end, his fear finally overcomes him as Lady Madeline s
reappearance after her death is just too much for him and ends up driving him out the house. Edgar
Allan Poe creates a sensation of claustrophobia in this story. The narrator is mysteriously trapped by
Roderick s lure and his need to help his friend. He cannot escape until the house of Usher collapses
completely. The house, because of its deteriorated state and seemingly seclusion from everything else,
seems to take on a monstrous character of its own the Gothic mastermind that controls the fate of its
inhabitants. Edgar Allan Poe creates confusion between the living things and inanimate objects by
doubling the physical house of Usher with the genetic family line of the Usher family, which he refers
to as the house of Usher. It is even said in the story that the people of the nearby village refer to both
the actual house and the Usher family as the house of Usher which reinforces the idea that they are the
same thing. Poe employs the word house metaphorically, but

Questions On The Word Equity
Introduction
The word equity has numerous meanings and to various people it is a symbol of fairness or justice.
The origin of equity can be traced to the deficiencies of the common law. Beyond question, common
law had flaws where any solution is unavailable or where there was an availability of a remedy but it
was not fit for the plaintiff loss. Moreover, the common law was studded with formality. If two parties
engage in a verbal contract in case of common law, common law under no circumstances will spot the
contract not provide any remedy to it. This was one of the major flaws because whatever be the
circumstances. In many cases equity stepped up and provided remedies irrespective of the fact that
there was a lack of formality. The main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the last 50 years there has been immense change in the law of equity. This can be well justified
by the maxim, for example, where the equities are same, the first in time happens , and the impact on
happenings, as well as interest which are conflicting in nature and the maxim equity behave in
personam its impact on the working of the law outside the judgement. The whole structure has been
implemented with the aim of providing maximum benefit. The statement flexible when law appears to
be dominant, discretionary when law appears to be obligatory and humane in its concern for justice
rather than rights clearly signifies the development of equity over the past 50 years. As a matter of
fact, equity entails discretionary features both in terms of application and even its extent which have a
deep impact on the issue related to domestic, as well as international law . By and by equitable
principles came out as a support to the Roman, as well as English common law which are done in
order to enhance or correct the body of civil law.
Maxim
The maxim of equity can be well described from the statement and the well defined principles which
are laid down so as to control the manner of the operation of the equity principles. This helps to
project the features of equity and in particular contrary to the common law which has a flexible nature,
impactful considering the need of the particular person and more focussed to

Commentary on Field of Autumn
Commentary on Field of Autumn Advancing like a silent threat, the onset of winter is presented
throughout the poem as a season with sinister intent. The acid breath of noon approaches in a Slow
manner, as if sneaking up on autumn. The personification of the acid breath not only suggests to the
reader the fog is murderous, but one could be lead to imagine that the fog is poison gas. This is
because Field of Autumn was published in 1947, two years after the Second World War; clearly the
memory of the War would be even more poignant than it is to this day, scars more fresh, and any
references more painful. Continuing with the theme of war, Laurie Lee chooses to describe the taking

The Human Immune deficiency Virus is an epidemic that has devastated the world since its discovery

million people are now living with the disease. Young people in the US are the most vulnerable group
and are continually at high risk of contracting HIV and AIDS. About 39% of reported HIV cases are
among youths aged between 13 29 years (Granich et al. 2011). Various studies have shown that
homosexual and bisexual youth are at high risk. It is, therefore, important to adopt programs that will

Out of the nineteen public health in Georgia, nine of them had HIV cases rated above the national
mean. 50% of the new HIV diagnosed cases are people between the ages of 14 to 30. The youth seems
to be the ones highly affected by the disease. These infections concentrated more on the colored
people, the poor, the homeless, health challenged and those using drugs. The National AIDS Fund
describes the epidemic as, a universal set of social and structural inequities . Inequities like poverty,
illiteracy levels, homophobia, poor health care, and racial prejudices promote the wide discrepancy of
the disease effects in the community. The disease is likely to advance into a devastating stage of AIDS

There are not a one size fits all approach to where the baby should sleep, and how long they child

Summer Student Observation

myself in teacher student interaction. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivators played a big part in the lessons.

teacher efficacy is and what a large role it plays in the rapport of the classroom.

The instructor played a song by Eminem, and a trailer from his movie. Afterwards, she explained the
lyrics of the song, and held a discussion about how the artist did not let his geography define his
destiny. I thought this was such a great idea. The students were then given an Ipad and asked to look
up a song that meant the most to them, and they would be able to play the song and share it with the
class. This directly exemplified motivation/incentive to me. It was motivation, in the sense that they
wanted to use the Ipad and look up music to show the class their favorite song. Intrinsic motivation to
be exact. The Journal of Education For Business defines intrinsic motivation as an activity whose
initial impulse originates from self motivation , (Rassuli, 2012, 86.) This was obviously portrayed,
because the students liked the activity they were participating in, so they voluntarily did it without any
prize or reward at the end. I also saw examples of extrinsic motivation during my time there. A short
quiz was done at the beginning of class based on the lesson from the previous day. Each student was
given a card that said true or false, and was asked to hold up his or her answer when the question was
asked. The game started off slow, it was the end of the day and the students were just not cooperating.
The teacher then said, You will get a prize if you win, it s behind this box. Just like that, the students
started throwing their signs up and trying to beat each other for the right answers. I learned that
intrinsic and extrinsic motivations and incentives are directly seen in the classroom, and most of it
depends on the lesson and the circumstances it is being taught

Summary Of KeatsOde To A Nightingale
Keats Ode to a Nightingale, can be classified as one of those most well known Odes to ever be
written. Although the poem is a tough lyrical poem to understand, it is as if the poet feels the pain and
bleakness from the day to day repetitiveness of life; therefore, seeks to disappear into the make believe
world of the Nightingale to find relief which eventually leads him to acknowledgment. While listening
to the Nightingale sing, the poet describes Greek and Roman figures to enhance the feelings he is
portraying. The poet described an inconsistent life of contradictory using the concept of life and death.
As well as, representing the struggle of reality and fantasy achieved through a transformed state of
mind. One can see the poet s feelings are described by words that show the mood of the situation
while his thoughts change throughout the poem. The day to day life of the poet is filled with pain and
disappointment. Although the poem starts out with, My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains
(Line 1), momentarily, the poet is happy because of the singing Nightingale which he describes as,
some melodious plot (Line 8); and it Singest of summer in full throated ease (Line 10). The poet uses
musical language to give the audience the portrayal of how the bird is singing. Quickly, the narrator is
filled with agony because he remembers that life is unpleasant and could be explained in the third

He does not change. He is One and the same. He does not have different commandments for different
people. He does not expect one thing of me, and expect something different from another.
As I walk deeper into my faith, to the same God of everyone else, the more He changes me, (as He
changes everyone else)
As I grow in my Christianity He blesses me with Spiritual Discernment, thus convicting me of my sins
after I repent for them, and He in turn removes my (sinful) fleshly desires.
There is no place for sin when person is at Gods feet. In order to be at His feet, sin must be washed
away, and repented of. Otherwise we are still just at a distance from being in the presence of God and
in His will. From my own desire to be closer to my Father, I have discovered the majority of things I
participated in were sins. Not only were they sins, but they were abominations.
I see my new life in Christ like a surprise gift.
Overnight He removed the thirst and hunger I had for BDSM and replaced the empty well of my soul
with a desire and fire for Him.
I am no longer quenched searching desperately to be satisfied and fulfilled.
God changed my taste buds of my soul, and the former things no longer taste good to me, or feel good

Not The Same Song I ve Always Sung
Once again, I found myself weaving in boredom, singing the same song I ve always sung, with only
useless, brainless wolves and mountain lions lying motionless around me. What a boring life this was,
spending my days weaving or practicing magic, never to be visited, always ignored secluded, empty,
without purpose. It had been at least a few centuries since anyone dared to tread the ground of Aeaea,
as this land had become infamous off of the people lost to the witch Circe, which spread infectiously
throughout the people, long ago averting their ships far away from here. As I already knew, the day
would go by without a sound, then a night, then a day, then another night, then another day. Some

Nevertheless, after long moments of silence, only filled by my voice echoing throughout the halls, a
group of voices from the entrance cried out my name. Hello, Circe, the voices yelled, we ask of you to
let us take shelter in your hall! Bewildered by the sound of them, not having heard voice speak to me
in what felt to me like an eternity, I swiftly maneuvered to the entranceway; there, I examined twenty
three mortals, one of which stood further back than the others and refused to join them. Rejuvenated, I
let them in, hurriedly preparing a customary feast, with mighty thrones to sit upon, fine cheese, barely,
amber honey, and Pramnian wine. However, before bringing the meal out, I turned toward the table to
see the mortals talking and laughing with each other, sharing their thoughts and spending time with
each other. Stealthily, I grabbed a potion and mixed it into the meal, in hopes that it would make them
forget their homeland. I didn t want them to leave. I didn t want to be alone again. I didn t want to give
up this perfect opportunity to better my existence, whether or not they were only mortals. Thus,
bringing the mixture out to the table, I set it down next to them and waited. Seemingly pouncing on
the sight of food, they immediately began to eat, devouring every last morsel of it. All the while, I

Political Influence On Judges
I do not believe that politics plays a role in a Judge s decision if that Judge is from the lower courts.
When you start looking at the judges of higher courts it does play a role in their decision, a small roll,
but a role none the less. We have collected data on thousands of sitting state and federal judges in the
United States for nearly twenty years using controlled experiments. We present judges with a single
hypothetical case so that large numbers of judges respond to the same situation. We have collected this
data for other purposes, but we commonly ask judges participating in our research to identify their
political orientation. This methodology enables us to examine how judges with different political
affiliations evaluate the same case. Because most of our studies involve trial judges rather than
appellate judges, we also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We present results involving civil and criminal cases reviewed by over 2,200 judges, including federal
district judges, federal magistrate judges, federal bankruptcy judges, trial judges from nine states, and
judges from multiple states attending national conferences. Our results suggest that politics has only a
modest influence on trial judges. We find that politics has an impact on judges decisions in only a few
of our hypothetical cases, but when we aggregate across scenarios (as political scientists do in their
research), we do find a pattern of political influence. Although we conclude that political attitudes
influence judges, the effect of political influence is sufficiently small that trial judges likely do not
notice it in their day to day decision making. (Jeffrey J. Rachlinski Andrew J. Wistrich Chris Guthrie,
2017). In my opinion there is no way that a Judge can be appointed without politics coming into play.

Dementia And Its Effect On The Function Of The Brain
Dementia is a term used to describe the symptoms of a number of illnesses which effect the function
of the brain. It is an umbrella term describing the progressive decline in a person s cognitive ability.
The type and severity of symptoms varies with each type of dementia and is usually has a gradual
onset, is progressive and irreversible. (1) Research conducted by the Australian government in 2011,
estimated that 298,000 Australians have been diagnosed with dementia and based on current
projections, this number will exceed 400,000 by 2020. (1) Although forecast methods vary, the
number of people with dementia is expected to triple between 2011 and 2050 and is estimated to reach
approximately 900,000 by 2050. (1) In 2013, 10,933 people died from dementia, making it the second
leading underlying cause of death in Australians, accounting for 7.4% of deaths in that year. This
number has gradually increased by 32% since 2009. (2) Dementia does not only impact the people
with symptoms and it also disturbs the people who must care for the person. It is estimated that 1.2
million people are involved in the care of people with dementia. It has a financial burden on the
Australian economy $4.9 billion in 2009 10. (1) Globally, the World Health Organisation reports there

Reentry and the American Prison System
With the dramatic increase in the prison population since the 1970 s, the number of people released
from prison has also seen a steady increase. In 2009, almost 730,000 people were released from state
and federal prisons, an increase of more than 20 percent since 2000. Those newly released are often
condemned by their time in prison and usually have to deal with a loss of social standing. The
transitioning process can present various challenges for them including but not limited to reconnecting
with family and peers, finding living arrangements and employment. This transitioning process is
better referred to as reentry. Reentry is the process in which individuals return to communities from
prison or jail custody, with the goal of reintegrating into society. In addition to feelings of fear, anxiety
and uncertainty, this process can be further complicated by the many indirect legal consequences of a
criminal conviction, sometimes called collateral consequences, which can inhibit an individual s
ability to reenter society.
Upon release, a majority of prisoners will not have anyone or anyplace to go home to. and housing is
one of the first most important commodities they ll require. A stable home can help build a solid
foundation, giving a place for communication as well as making it easier to seek employment. This is
also essential for maybe a parent wanting to reunite with their kids after being released. Finding such

Wiregrass Technical College
Abstract
The purpose of this research paper is to examine the lives of Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen
Muhammad. They are known as the D.C. Snipers who initiated a killing spree that lasted over 20 days
and resulted in 10 deaths and 3 injuries. This paper gives insight into the manipulation and control of
John Allen Muhammad over Lee Boyd Malvo who was child during this reign of terror. Information is
given to aid in understanding the contributing factors that led to innocent lives taken from society, the
loss innocence of a minor, and the molding and shaping of a cold blooded killer.
D.C. Snipers Children are the most precious human beings on the Earth. They represent such a pure
and innocence of mankind. They are to be loved, nurtured, molded, and trained by their parents to be
law abiding citizens and good moral and responsible adults. However, what happens when this does
not happen? When innocence is turned into evil, what is the result? When children are not exposed to
model parents and influenced by others who do not have their best interest in mind, society gains
troubled children who have the potential to become dangerous and unstable. This is the case of the
making of Lee Boyd Malvo: The D.C. Sniper. Lee Boyd Malvo was a child in 2002 when terror struck
and our nation was in fear (Albarus, 2012). Lee was manipulated and brainwashed by an adult figure

According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, nearly 5 million people are affected and it
is the main reason for hospital admission in older adults over the age of 65. This is a great cause for
concern. In order to reduce the morbidity and control this epidemic, we must first understand the risks

Left sided heart failure causes a decrease in cardiac output and can be further classified as systolic or
diastolic. When the cardiac output is decreased and can not get enough oxygen to important organs, it
is from an imbalance of stroke volume and heart rate. When a person experiences a myocardial
infarction or continuous hypertension, the contractility of the heart decreases which directly influences
the stroke volume. The stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped out of the heart per contraction
so if that decreases, so does the cardiac output which decreases perfusion of the organs (Huether and
McCance, 2012). Diastolic heart failure in the left side is when the ventricle has trouble filling to its
full capacity which is usually caused by a stiffening or loss of contractility of the ventricle. Right
sided heart failure is often times a response to left sided heart failure. When the left side of the heart
has failed, the blood backs up into the lungs due to a decrease in output so the blood then backs up
into the right side of the heart causing problems with it too. Heart failure in the right ventricle comes
from it not being able to eject an adequate amount of blood into the pulmonary system (Huether and
McCance, 2012).
Clinical Manifestation Symptoms of a patient with congestive heart failure differ depending on the
side of the heart that is not functioning properly. Left sided heart failure

Fast Times At Ridgemont High Feminist Analysis

The two films are successful at adapting to Wood s 5 pronged formula, which focuses on sex, the
suppression of parents, the variation of character identification, the method of the hunter/hunted, and
the repression of homosexuality. Although the two films take place in a school atmosphere, there is no
evidence of students learning. The assumption is being made that the characters are only intrigued
with sex. In Fast Times, Stacy s parents are mentioned throughout the movie, but remain unrevealed.
Her mother, who tucks her into bed, only makes one appearance on screen. In John Tucker Must Die,
Kate s mom, Lori is barely displayed on the screen. She is only shown leaving to go out on casual
dates with different men. In both films, the directors utilizes the variation of character identification by
using classical high school stereotypes and gender roles, such as the popular guy, and the girl next
door. In Fast Times, Heckerling practices the method of the hunter/ hunted, which also signifies the
looker and the participant who is being observed. During the scene with Stacy and Mike, they are both
shown equally observing each other as they both take off their clothes. Another example of the
hunter/hunted method is when Brad is being observed by two women at a red light. In John Tucker

I can t imagine a world without justice, but the utilitarian principle fails to supports the need for a
justice system. In an attempt to identify what is morally right for a society it ignores justice a criteria.
The underlying idea is that if you seek the greatest output (i.e., selling stock) with the least amount of
cost (to Brock Mason) it will promote the greatest happiness over the less efficient act (underselling
the customer). With all of the efforts put forth in promoting happiness, the majority (Brock Mason) in
this case, spend much of the time eluding justice and what is right; while laws and regulations attempt

Psych Analysis
The introductory paragraphs are pictured as an upside down triangle, which start out with a broad
statement and narrow down to a point. Whereas a middle paragraph is more like a block, it starts out
with a broad statement but elaborates instead of narrowing down.
The main purpose is to explain the points in your thesis by not confusing the reader. Paragraphing
keeps each point separated so that one big block of explaining does not bore your reader, it also helps
the writer explain his point.
Writing big paragraphs helps the writer explore writing on their own, it makes them think and learn to
control the details, unimportant sentences, etc.
An essay has an intro, a middle, and conclusion. A paragraph is exactly like that, the only difference ...

The light shined against the water. People crowded the lake. Laughter filled the air throughout the
lake, and near the water, water splashed in the air from all the little kids. The opposite side of the lake
was different and peaceful. Canoes, paddle boards, and little boats floated along the surface of the
water, gliding across the water. Everyone enjoyed the view of the mountains and how satisfying it
looked. Every so often you could hear a splash. At one point, someone was lost their balance on a
paddle board and fell in the water, and emerged seconds later with a smile on their face and again

It s Time for a Universal Code of Ethics for Public Relations
Contemporary public relations is a twentieth century phenomenon that evolved from the press gentry
of the 1800s. These old time press agents played upon the credulity of the public in its desire to be
entertained, whether or not they were deceived. Advertisements and press releases were often
exaggerated to the point of being complete falsifications. In promoting an attraction, press agents
dropped multitudes of tickets on the newspaper editors desk along with the releases. Voluminous
publicity for the attraction usually resulted, and reporters, editors, and their families flocked to the free
entertainment with scant regard for any ethical constraints (Wilcox, Ault, Agee ... Show more content

Roots such as these have created the skepticism with which the public views the field of public
relations. Furthermore, it is the duty of practitioners to create positive images for businesses and
organizations. Therefore, other, more recent issues have augmented Americans mistrust in the business
world in general, including the Watergate Affair and the business and government related scandals of
the 1980s, such as the near collapse of the savings and loan industry. The American public is
demanding higher ethical practices from business firms and organizations than it did in the past
(Wilcox, Ault, Agee 116).
How Public Relations Practitioners are Perceived
Despite pressure from the public, very little empirical evidence on the ethics of public relations
practitioners exists. As recently as the spring of 1988, a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)
task force could only uncover 16 journal articles and two books as initial readings that dealt with
ethics issues in length (Pratt, Empirical 230).
However, one study conducted in 1989, has revealed the pathetic state of ethics in, and has called into
question the credibility, professional integrity and public image of, public relations (229). In the broad
field of mass communications, of which public relations practitioners are considered a part, the
occupation is viewed with cynicism. For example, an investigation of journalists attitudes toward
public relations, conducted in

An Analysis Of Patrick Cariou s Canal Zone
Copyright involves the exclusive legal right to reproduce, publish, sell, or distribute the matter and
form of something (as a literary, musical, or artistic work). This enables the creator of such item to
have insurance that no one else can steal or replicate their idea. Copyright has seen some of the largest
court cases of all time where companies have sued millions due to breaches of copyright.
A French photographer, Patrick Cariou, published a book Yes, Rasta (Powerhouse) for a show at
Gagosian Galleryphotographs. The images were of a Rastafarian community in Jamaica.
In 2008 Richard Prince created Canal Zone , which were a series of art works incorporating Cariou s

In April 2013 The SDNY found that most of Prince s works were deemed to be transformative of the
original works to an observer and consequently in fair use. In particular, the Court found that the
lower court erred in requiring that the appropriating artist claim to be commenting on the original
work, and found works to be transformative if they presented a new aesthetic. The court found 25 of
Prince s works to be transformative fair use under fair use. Cariou and Prince have since settled the
case.
Defamation or Libel is a false statement or accusation that harms the reputation of an individual
person, business and much more. In regards to journalism there have been numerous cases in the UK
of a newspaper organisations publishing an article or an image that could be seen as defamatory to
those involved. This has led to numerous court cases against these media outlets due to the defamatory
nature of the publication.
For example, in 2011, Comedian Frankie Boyle, sued The Daily Mirror after describing him as racist
comedian . Boyle said the paper defamed him with an article that was published in on 19 July 2011.
Boyle claimed that the defamatory article cost him his job on the BBC panel show Mock The Week.
The Daily Mirror defended the article they published by claiming it that the racist description was

America and to make it worse, were drinking to make their lives more tolerable. The government
decided to ban the sale and drinking of alcohol, this was period was called The Prohibition . People
continued to want to drink and this lead people to go to illegal bars or speakeasies which sprang up all

transporting and supplying alcohol to the them.. As a result they became so wealthy and well

The arrest of the bookkeeper should be fairly easy but Ness finds himself in with for reasons. Being a
caring person he is helps a woman struggling to bring her baby up the stairs. While doing this Ness
recognizes one of the gang members, taking out his gun he single handedly defeats all the members of
the gang while at the same time protecting the baby. Ness and Stone walk out the station unharmed
and with the bookkeeper.
Brian de Palma has used a variety of sound techniques to create a feeling of suspense and tension for
the audience. Dialogue, sounds effects, ambient sounds and non diegetic sounds have all been used to
reinforce what the audience see. The content of the station scene is expressed through Ness s dialogue.
He informs the audience of what is happening by what he says to other characters on and off screen.
Sound effects have also used successfully to add realism so the audience can believe that what they re
seeing is actually happening. Non diegetic sounds also played a big part in the station scene. It
changes the mood of the audience from feeling excited to feeling tense and uncomfortable. First there
were drums which made the audience feel Ness s tension as he tried to find the bookkeeper. Mobile
music is then added, creating more tension showing now that Ness

Jim Jarmusch Use Of Gothic Style In Vampire Films
At it s surface, Gothic style in vampire films has been defined by gloomy settings, violent and
immoral action, as well as a mood of decadence and decay. It is truly a large genre which initially was
constructed to be outside, if not entirely subversive to the mainstream popular culture. However,
overuse of gothic aesthetics in film over the decades has anesthetized the intended effects, causing it
to lose some of it s purpose and specificity. Gothic aesthetics have so thoroughly saturated horror film
and media that it is now iconic, and therefore normalized, as an expected facet of vampire storytelling.
The initial point of Gothicism was to induce fear and desire within the viewer. It was intended to
portray otherness in terms of beauty, morality and humanity. That effect has been lost as the gothic ...

Jim Jarmusch is a director known for his avant garde style, and use of performance art as well as niche
club culture in small production films. The major point he makes with only lovers left alive is that art
is a rejuvenating force that not only offers a reason to live, but serves as an antidote to the mundane
mainstream environment (Stępień). Immediately, only lovers left alive is different from mainstream
vampire films in that the protagonists are the vampires themselves. As opposed be being animalistic
villains that are at constant war with their nature, they are instead enlightened beings who are cautious
and thoughtful, extremely educated through the benefit of a long life in addition to a dedicated study
of the arts, sciences, and philosophy. They take the viewer on a journey through the gorgeous cities of
Detroit and Tangier. Detroit being an incredible modern setting representative of gothic ruin. Like the

A Separate Peace Gene And Finny Character Analysis
The two protagonists inability to reveal their inside feelings to each other plagues Gene and Finny
throughout the novel A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Gene s jealousy and Finny s personality are
main reasons why this conflict exists. Competition and rivalry theme Gene s paranoia and Finny s
inability to accept the truth, which leads to tragedy. The competition within the friendship, Gene s
inability to share his feelings with Finny, and Gene s paranoia are main factors in the development of
the conflict that leads to Gene jouncing the limb. One example of Gene s paranoia is when Finny first
forces Gene to jump off the tree, Gene ponders to himself, Why did I let Finny talk me into stupid
things like this? Was he getting some kind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are multiple examples of Finny and Gene s inability to accept the truth of what happened at the
tree. The first one is when Gene admits to Finny that he jounced the limb, but Finny refuses to accept
it, calling Gene a damn fool (70), and ordering him to go away. This leads Gene to question himself
whether he had actually deliberately caused Finny to fall. Gene contemplates, Could it be that he
might even be right? Had I really and definitely and knowingly done it to him after all (70)? The final
and most controversial example of their inability to accept the truth is when Finny can t stand the
investigation of what happened happened at the tree. After a continued dialogue about what happened,
Leper seems to know the truth. But before he is convinced to uncover the mystery, Phineas interrupts,
proclaiming that, [He doesn t] care (176). Finny subsequently walks across the room and answers in
an outburst to Brinker, You get the rest of the facts, Brinker! You get all your facts! You collect every f
ing fact there is in the world, then plunges out of the door only to fall down the marble steps, re injure
himself, and eventually die during the recovery surgery. Had Finny and Gene accepted the devastating
truth between each other and in each of their minds, the story would conclude earlier and Finny would

  • 4. Mathematics and its Relation with Music and its Harmonics Ever since c. 17th century, musical compositions have manipulated the standard aspects of music, which include rhythm and melody. More importantly, many musical compositions have incorporated complex math within, for examples again, melodies and rhythms that create a uniqueness that has yet to be perfectly matched by other composers. One other key aspect of music in general, harmony, is where a fairly complex mathematical formula is involved: the harmonic mean. Because harmony is a major component of music, it is no surprise that this harmonic mean can be applied to nearly all types of music. Basically, a harmonic mean as it applies to music ~is any possible division between an original note and the octave of that note that produces a different note. With that, there is a sequence in the divisions between a note and its octave that is not very consistent in distance from the original note. One instrument in particular that can demonstrate this type of mean is the vioiin because of the harmonic tones produced whenever a finger is pressed on a string. At certain points on a string. different notes are produced by the harmonics of the upper and iower naives of the string, which would be examples of harmonic means. The diagram above is of a D string on a violin from the beginning of the neck where the string first crosses the neck to where the string touches the bridge. The halfway notation marks the most prominent harmonic mean on a violin: the octave. Its harmonic mean is 1/2 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Implementation Of The Dayton Agreement This paper analyzes the Dayton Peace Accords initialed in Dayton, Ohio, and later signed in Paris. The Dayton agreement was an augmentation of and or arguably a follow up result of the previously pursued peace efforts and processes (Church, para 1), this paper, however, will only focus on the negotiation process that took place in the US, which resulted in attainment of the Dayton Agreement. The negotiation process will be analyzed within a combined framework of Habeeb s Formula Detail Approach and mediation detailed by Pruitt and Kim, both of which will serve as the primary and overarching basis for this analysis. However, relevant course materials will be used as deemed necessary while analyzing various aspects of the negotiation process such as the strategies employed by the negotiating parties, and the complexities special to this case, which expanded the mediating role of the US to tackle important barriers in order to reach an agreement. The Negotiation Framework: Habeeb reviews the literature on the common processes used in negotiations and thus agreeing with Zartman, advocates the formal detail approach. Zartman s approach is well structured and parsimonious. The concession and convergence school of analysis developed the offer counteroffer (Habbeeb 27) structure for the negotiation process. The approach is grounded in the notion that the negotiating parties make demands, propose new solution, make concessions, and evaluate concession behavior and reactions ... • 6. The Wrath Of God Vs. Big Brother The Wrath of God vs. Big Brother: Observational Effects of Cooperation in the Dictator Game (2000 words) General overview of plan A consistent finding within the paradigm of experimental games is that humans reward others who behave cooperatively and fairly (Gächter, Renner Sefton, 2008, Zimring, 1971) and often impose sanctions on those who fail to do so (Guala, 2012, Bankston Cramer, 1974). One potential means of implementing and maintaining fairness is through the maintenance of a cultural norm of fairness (Fehr Fischbacher, 2004). As human societies are often predicated repeated cooperative behaviours between genetically unrelated individuals (McKay, Efferson, Whitehouse Fehr, 2010) one possible explanation for large scale cooperation is through the reinforcement of behaviours that preserve social and moral standards and punishment of behaviours which are associated with norm violations (Carpenter, Matthews Ong ong a, 2004, Falk, Fehr Fischbacher, 2005, Hopfensitz Reuben 2009, Casari Luini 2012). One way of enforcing these norms is through the use of belief in supernatural agents (Ahmed Salas, 2008). Out of the 7 colors of the rainbow, Violet is refracted the greatest. 2) What is a mirage and why does it always disappear as the observer gets closer? A mirage is a naturally occurring optical phenomenon in which light rays are bent to produce a displaced image of distant objects or the sky. Mirages appear at very low viewing angles, when you are far away. As you approach, the viewing angle increases and the mirage disappears, or moves farther away. • 11. Understanding The Language Spoken Throughout Their Eyes... Bond analyzes the language spoken throughout Their Eyes Were Watching God as appropriate and crucial to understanding Afro American literature. Hurston s skill in dialect writing emphasizes the cultural tradition within the south. Not only does Hurston demonstrate black oral tradition, but she also utilizes southern dialect to critique a male dominated society. Hurston uses literary references, such as the pear tree to scrutinize her awakening self love. These illustrations that occur in notable occasions of the novel are signified by the citizens of Eatonville. Lige Moss sheds light on Tony Taylor s rhetorical inadequacy, just as Janie demonstrates her oration skills to expose the male tradition of signifying. Her expressive rhetoric angers Joe because It is he who had aspired to being a big voice, a status dependent on the submissive silence of his wife (46). Women are expected to keep their mouths shut, so when Janie breaks this cultural boundary she is looked down upon. Bond further analyzes this signifying game by giving examples of women being used as objects rather than speakers. Janie s marriage to Joe initially represents the lack of voice women have until Janie uses figurative language to displace his power figure. Through the utilization of rhetoric, Janie is able to free herself from the hierarchical sexual difference prescribed within the roles of her marriage (49). Janie s demise of Joe represents a huge step towards competitive figurative speech. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Miss Julie Character Analysis Our attitude towards what is normal in terms of gender as well as social class has changed dramatically from the Victorian Era into the Modern Era. During the Victorian Era, women had clearly defined roles as housewives, mothers, caretakers, and mediators, however, this all began to change during the modern era as the ideology and morals shifted over time and women began to take on a more flexible and dynamic role. Through the presentation of Julie and Jean s nontraditional characters in the play Miss Julie, August Strindberg explores the themes of class and gender dynamic during the late Victorian era to be one that is shifting. The 1889 play took place in an elaborately decorated estate that is home to a Count and his daughter, Miss Julie. Communication skills are important to any organization and employees are expected to be professional and be able to express their ideas and opinions in that manner. Good communication skills are not limited to one area, to be an effective communicator you must be a good listener, be able to read body language as well as express your ideas verbally and in written form. Employees older the age of 40, have not grown up with the technology that we have today and have relied more on hand written, typed, face to face and verbal communication in a way much different than today. Almost everything about the story is very gloomy, dark and depressing. For example, the house is described by the narrator as the melancholy House of Usher and the description of Roderick Usher himself makes you think of a corpse. This theme of dreariness and sorrow pervades the story and is done to a very chilling effect, which really draws in the reader. He tries to suppress his fears and help his friend throughout the story and is successful until, at the very end, his fear finally overcomes him as Lady Madeline s reappearance after her death is just too much for him and ends up driving him out the house. Edgar Allan Poe creates a sensation of claustrophobia in this story. The narrator is mysteriously trapped by Roderick s lure and his need to help his friend. He cannot escape until the house of Usher collapses completely. The house, because of its deteriorated state and seemingly seclusion from everything else, seems to take on a monstrous character of its own the Gothic mastermind that controls the fate of its inhabitants. Edgar Allan Poe creates confusion between the living things and inanimate objects by doubling the physical house of Usher with the genetic family line of the Usher family, which he refers to as the house of Usher. It is even said in the story that the people of the nearby village refer to both the actual house and the Usher family as the house of Usher which reinforces the idea that they are the same thing. Beyond question, common law had flaws where any solution is unavailable or where there was an availability of a remedy but it was not fit for the plaintiff loss. Moreover, the common law was studded with formality. If two parties engage in a verbal contract in case of common law, common law under no circumstances will spot the contract not provide any remedy to it. Intrinsic motivation to be exact. The Journal of Education For Business defines intrinsic motivation as an activity whose initial impulse originates from self motivation , (Rassuli, 2012, 86.) Although the poem is a tough lyrical poem to understand, it is as if the poet feels the pain and bleakness from the day to day repetitiveness of life; therefore, seeks to disappear into the make believe world of the Nightingale to find relief which eventually leads him to acknowledgment. While listening to the Nightingale sing, the poet describes Greek and Roman figures to enhance the feelings he is portraying. We present judges with a single hypothetical case so that large numbers of judges respond to the same situation. • 29. Reentry and the American Prison System With the dramatic increase in the prison population since the 1970 s, the number of people released from prison has also seen a steady increase. In 2009, almost 730,000 people were released from state and federal prisons, an increase of more than 20 percent since 2000. Those newly released are often condemned by their time in prison and usually have to deal with a loss of social standing. The transitioning process can present various challenges for them including but not limited to reconnecting with family and peers, finding living arrangements and employment. This transitioning process is better referred to as reentry. Reentry is the process in which individuals return to communities from prison or jail custody, with the goal of reintegrating into society. In addition to feelings of fear, anxiety and uncertainty, this process can be further complicated by the many indirect legal consequences of a criminal conviction, sometimes called collateral consequences, which can inhibit an individual s ability to reenter society. Upon release, a majority of prisoners will not have anyone or anyplace to go home to. and housing is one of the first most important commodities they ll require. A stable home can help build a solid foundation, giving a place for communication as well as making it easier to seek employment. Left sided heart failure causes a decrease in cardiac output and can be further classified as systolic or diastolic. When the cardiac output is decreased and can not get enough oxygen to important organs, it is from an imbalance of stroke volume and heart rate. When a person experiences a myocardial infarction or continuous hypertension, the contractility of the heart decreases which directly influences the stroke volume. The stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped out of the heart per contraction so if that decreases, so does the cardiac output which decreases perfusion of the organs (Huether and McCance, 2012). Diastolic heart failure in the left side is when the ventricle has trouble filling to its full capacity which is usually caused by a stiffening or loss of contractility of the ventricle. Right sided heart failure is often times a response to left sided heart failure. When the left side of the heart has failed, the blood backs up into the lungs due to a decrease in output so the blood then backs up into the right side of the heart causing problems with it too. Heart failure in the right ventricle comes from it not being able to eject an adequate amount of blood into the pulmonary system (Huether and McCance, 2012). Clinical Manifestation Symptoms of a patient with congestive heart failure differ depending on the side of the heart that is not functioning properly. Left sided heart failure ...
