neck was tingling, adrenaline was racing through my body, and my bones were

Apollo And Daphne Analysis
The sculpture Apollo and Daphne, created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, is based off a
story from Book 1 of Ovid s Metamorphoses. It is a portrayal of when Daphne is
turned into a tree when trying to escape Apollo after they were both shot with an
arrow by Eros. The sculpture is a powerful visual of Daphne and Apollo s emotions
as Daphnewas captured by him. To evaluate the photo further I will discuss the
feeling of empathy the sculpture made me feel and two connections the sculpture has
to Ovid s story.
The sculpture, in my own opinion, is very powerful and gives the reader a good
visual after reading Ovid s work. After reading the story I had a better
understanding of what exactly had happened, and I felt a strong feeling of
empathy for Daphne. All she wanted was to stay a virgin, much like Artemis and
even her own father had agreed with her decision. But he knew this would be a
difficult task as she was a beautiful woman. This proves to be true, and although she
stays a virgin, she is forever trapped by a man and his love. I could not imagine
being forever trapped like that, forever being used for their own pleasure. Apollo
states that she will forever be with him, as his arrows and in creating his music in
his lyre. He also tells her that she will forever be honored, but how can it be an
honor if she is reduced to nothing but a beating heart and her beauty. She had
become nothing but an object for Apollo to use repeatedly. Bernini s creation is
ironic because it shows the way Daphne s peril will forever be frozen in time.
There is no escape for her now that she is in the arms of Apollo. This story made
me think back to the horrible treatment of women in these stories, they are
completely disregarded as people and thought of as prizes. I feel empathy for each
woman that is treated badly in the stores we ve read so far, and I am glad that
women have it much better nowadays. Though the stories are not real, they still
show the place women had in society at the time. It portrays how far we ve come as
a human race with treating each other equally.
The second point is how the sculpture echoes the words lamb and beauty. Ovid writes,

stories about how lots of professors in the past, before the Second Wizarding War,
ended up having to leave after only one year, so I hope that doesn t happen to

for some time and when I awoke it was quite dark. I tried to move, but I had broken

grandfather had taught me Morse code when I was younger, so I thought I might be
able to use it with Lumos to attract attention. My head hurt and I wasn t able to
concentrate properly, so after saying Lumos! I could only see a faint white light that

In the distance I hear my dad s truck pulling a trailer bringing more wood ready to
be split and stack. First he backs the trailer up careful to not hit any trees or the
sugar shack. Then he starts to tip the hydraulic trailer bed all you hear is the sound

When you drill into a tree you point the drill bit slightly up. We don t drill more
than one hole in a tree per season unless the tree is 20 inches or bigger in diameter.
Each person has a job, we usually have two drillers, two people to put taps in the
trees, and then everyone else runs buckets and lids, plus one person drives the
tractor (it s usually my Grandpa). We have about 200 buckets and taps, it takes
about 2 hours to tap all the trees. Now all the trees are tapped and it s been about
about a week so the trees have a bit of sap in the buckets, now it s time to pick up
sap. First we get the tractor connected to our sap trailer, it s an old stainless steel
milk holder, we use it because it s insulated. Then we start to pick up sap we have
one person on the tractor driving and everyone else running buckets except for my
dad he s at the sugar shack boiling the sap, and if we have a lot of people helping us
then we have people start to consolidate buckets and put the buckets by the side of
the trail. Now that the sap pick up is done then we pull up to the front of the sugar
shack then we hook up the RO (reverse osmosis) hose to the spigot of the sap
trailer, the reason we run the sap through the RO is that the RO takes out about half
of the water in the sap. Then the sap goes to one of our holding tanks from there the

Objectives:
As part of the experiment requirements, we were required to simulate the dynamic
response of a first order and a second order linear system with the help of
LabVIEW. One of our first objectives of this experiment was to observe the response
of the first order system to the input step signal and then relate it to the time constant
of that specific first order system. The second objective of this experiment included
observing the second order system to the input step signal and then relating it to the
damping ratio of the specific second order system. The third and most important
objective of this experiment was to use different functions of LabVIEW including
loop execution control, LabVIEW formula node, LabVIEW graph, LabVIEW ...
A shift register was then used to store the y value for the next iteration (y(n 1)) in
case of the first order system while a 2 stacked shift register, in case of a second
order system, was used to store the y values from previous iterations (y(n 1) and y(n
2)). A formula node was used in order to input the formula required to program the
algorithm for each of the first and second order systems respectively. After providing
the required number inputs and outputs (as per the requirement of each of the
formula respectively), a waveform function was used to create the waveform data
from the output data and determine the time interval of the input waveform. After
using an array to contain all the input and output waveforms, a graph indicator was
finally added to the VI to display the final graphical representation of the output data.
After saving, each of the VI were run separately set at different time constants (for
the first order system) and different damping ratios and 100 Hz undamped natural
frequency (for the second order ratio).
Results:
After creating the VI for first order differential systems in LabVIEW, we ran the VI
using five different time constant values (0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.1) and received the
following graphs:
