Good Argument Essay Example
Crafting an essay on the topic of a "Good Argument Essay Example" can be both challenging
and rewarding. The difficulty arises from the need to strike a balance between presenting a
compelling argument and adhering to the conventions of essay writing. One must navigate
through the intricacies of selecting a strong thesis statement, providing relevant evidence to
support the argument, and maintaining a coherent structure throughout the essay.
The initial hurdle lies in identifying a persuasive argument that is not only interesting but also has
sufficient depth to explore. The process involves brainstorming ideas, researching various
perspectives, and ultimately honing in on a unique angle that adds value to the discourse.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement is crucial, as it serves as the foundation upon which the
entire essay rests.
Once the thesis is established, the challenge then shifts to finding credible evidence and
examples to substantiate the argument. This requires extensive research and critical analysis to
ensure that the supporting points are robust and relevant. Integrating these elements seamlessly
into the essay while maintaining a clear and logical flow adds another layer of complexity.
Structuring the essay effectively is yet another demanding aspect. A well-organized essay should
have a coherent introduction, body paragraphs that develop the argument, and a strong
conclusion that reinforces the thesis. Striking the right balance between depth and conciseness is
crucial, as the essay should be comprehensive enough to persuade the reader but not so
overwhelming that it loses clarity.
Moreover, maintaining a formal and academic tone throughout the essay poses its own set of
challenges. The language used should be precise, and transitions between ideas should be smooth
to ensure a seamless reading experience. Additionally, attention to grammar, punctuation, and
overall writing mechanics is paramount.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of a "Good Argument Essay Example" requires a
careful blend of creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency. Navigating through the
intricacies of topic selection, thesis development, evidence incorporation, and structural
organization demands diligence and dedication. While the process may be arduous, the skills
developed in crafting such essays are invaluable, contributing to the overall growth and
proficiency of the writer.

Discuss how Haddon s perspective on personal challenges is conveyed in the
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time. In your response, make a detailed
reference to your prescribed text.
The novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time by Mark Haddon
conveys the author s perspective on personal challenges. The important challenges
that Haddon conveys is through a fifteen year old teenager named Christopher who is
diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. This syndrome limits Christopher with coping
and having relationships. The challenges that Haddon makes a close reference to are,
truth against lies, where Christopher hates liars but admires the truth. Another
challenge is having a disability and being different to the society, ... Show more

The narrative voice of Christopher is not linked with fact or logic but is based on
reasoning and reveals his great need of order in a disordered world. Haddon is
trying to point out that people with a chronic disease need to be acknowledged and
need people that are close and distant from them to act in a respectful matter and
respect the mutations of people with a disability.
Another important idea that Haddon refers to is having a disability segregates
someone from the rest of the society and they are seen as eccentric. Christopher s
disability not only affects him, but it also affects his family and the people
surrounding him. Christopher s parents had no prior training as they have a disabled
child as revealed to in the novel, this shows that the society has ignored those
people with disability and has not taken special requirements in order to support
them. The stresses with living with Christopher are shown he is lying on the floor
in a shop, in pool of urine and surrounded by bits of broken mixer. This is shown
through Judy s narrative voice. Christopher is convey as putting stress on his parents
and on their relationships as shown in the novel as his parents being separated.
Although he is clearly intelligent to go to university, coping there will take a great
deal of adjustment on his part and ongoing support from his parents and Siobhan who
is a teacher at his school.
Julliard School Experience Paper
On December 3rd, there was a chamber music recital at Juilliard School in the
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts at the Morse Hal. The Juilliard School is
one of the world s premiere performing arts conservatories located in New York. It
trains in the fields of Dance, Drama and Music. Its an extremely competitive school
and very difficult to get into. Walking into the Julliard School also had a unique
feeling, seeing how students were dressed very formal and also didn t feel like a
school environment. My experience was good overall. My expectations were that
there would be a small audience, time would pass by very slowly, also that I
wouldn t really enjoy it. Instead time passed by fast, very relaxing, the room was full
and I enjoyed the experience.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also while listening to the music I started to realize that every kind of music has its
own rituals. Thinking about how rituals help performers and audience get into a
musical frame of mind, and to contain some sort of energy released by the music.
Thinking back to how pop or rap music music has its own set of moods; depending
on which type or pop/rap it can have a hyper or depressed. In my two experiences
with instrumental music both had a very laid back and relaxed mood. Also, seeing
the amount of skills and talent the musicians playing the instruments have, from
holding the instruments for 30 minutes in a certain position to their ability to read
musical literacy. Also, seeing facial expressions change at a constant moment,
looking at there hand movements while playing the instruments feels as if someone
is controlling their movement speed. Also seeing how most of the audience looks
like there analyzing something during the recital, enjoying the music in their own
way. Everyone should get a chance to experience chamber music
Theme Of Injustice And Injustice
The 3 major themes of this book were injustice, honor and worth, and death. Injustice
is seen straight away in the book, starting with the treatment of the black men who
work in poor paying jobs to survive in a society where they are born at a
disadvantage simply for the color of their skin. Also, narrated by Grant, from his
perspective, the constant critique on the society s treatment of the African American
community in the US during this time, which was constantly demonstrated by
diminishing one group of people. But the strongest example of injustice in the novel
was the unfair accusation and then official crime of Jefferson, which was completely
a mistake. Grant not only offers us his perspective but also the emotional destruction

The Printing Press by Johannes Gutenberg
In the 1450s, a German goldsmith named Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing
press, which revolutionized the world of publishing (The Printing Press, 2005).
Since then, hundreds of word processing programs have been developed, along with
thousands of new fonts, from Times New Roman to Comic Sans. Marketing
professionals and scientists around the world have wondered what kinds of fonts
stick in a person s memory over others (Dizikes, 2013). The concepts of how memory
functions, how the brainprocesses information and how font and memory are
connected in psychology are essential to better understand this idea. The nervous
systemconsists of three main sections, the central nervous system (CNS), the
peripheral nervous system (PNS), and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The short term memories are stored in the hippocampus, the long term are stored in
the cerebral cortex, and the flashbulb memories are stored in a special part of the
cerebral cortex called the amygdala (Young 2010; Hamzelou, 2011). Short term
memory can hold seven items of information for fifteen to twenty seconds.
Information that was received verbally and information that was received visually are
kept in different places in short term memory. To make the most of the limits of short
term memory, the brain chunks two to three facts into one unit of information. Long
term memory, however, is stored by significance and meaning rather than the
sequence in which they were received. The two kinds of long term memory are
implicit and explicit memories. Implicit memories are unconsciously remembered,
like how to open doors. Explicit memories are consciously remembered. There are
three types of explicit memory: episodic, semantic, and declarative.
Episodic memories are memories of events that took place, like a memory of
attending a party. Semantic memories are facts, figures, and general knowledge, like
the capital of France. Declarative memories are of people, places, and things, such
as names and faces (Foster, 2011; Greenberg, 1987; Fields, 2005).
Both long term and short term memories travel between neurons, as does any
memory. The structure that enables a connection between the neurons is called a
synapse. Short term memory has temporary synapse strengthening and

American Dream
American Dream
1.Outline
In text 2, by Arnold Schwarzenegger, we hear about his views on the American
immigration system and how immigrants should integrate themselves into the
American society. Nobody should expect a gift shop when entering America, but
instead the generosity of opportunities presented to one. Therefore, with enough hard
work, one can always succeed in life. Immigrants should, however, not be seen as
second tier citizens. Apart from running for president, you are just as much American
as the next guy. Arnold Schwarzeneggerhas 3 steps to integrate oneself into the
American society. First, you have to gain fluency in English and learn the ways of the
American culture, although, not by abandoning one s own heritage. Secondly, ... Show

They vary in both neutrality and positivity. As a foreigner, another opinion could,
however, be supplied. To start off, we should go all the way back to the start of the
known America; The Wild West. Back then, the American Dream meant a new
chance and possibilities only limited by your skills. There was no more nobility
and discrimination, for the Europeans at least. So back then the American Dream
was a basic principle that nobody should decide what you could or could not be,
only your abilities to do so would have any influence upon that. You were given a
plot of land and could then build a house or mine for gold. Those principles have
changed over the years, as some of the Americans seem to have forgotten their own
history. Why should those with the exact same background as their own forefathers
be given any less? Of cause, not all Americans have forgotten. Some have retained
their ancestral stance towards immigration; man is created equal. Nowadays, the
situation in America has changed and as such, there have also been changes in the
American Dream. How could there not? Instead of the relative equality, the wealth
of the Americans is being held by an increasingly small number of people. So is the
American Dream dead? No, or at least I don t think so. I don t even think it has
gotten harder, there have just come new sets of difficulties in place of the old. Most

Frank switched and struggled through many different jobs. While some of his
professions were not necessarily beneficial to his professional career, some had a
strong effect on his future. Frank had many jobs, and one of the first was his coal
delivery job with Mr. Hannon. Mr. Hannon got old and had trouble mining and
lifting coal; therefore, he asked Frank to assist him. During the duration of his job,
Frank s eyes got filled up with coal dust and he began to have problems with his
eyesight. After one of his shifts at his coal delivery job, [his] face is black and the
eyes are worse than ever. The whites and the eyelids are red, and the yellow stuff
oozes to the corners and out over the lower lids (McCourt 265). Although coal
mining hurt Frank, he remained focused on the future he would have in America if
he were to persevere through his difficulties. After coal mining with Mr. Hannon,
getting dusty eyes and having trouble breathing, Frank decided to move onto his
next occupation at the post office. The post office became one of Frank McCourt s
most prominent jobs and most influential jobs. He makes quite a lot of money for

Those Winter Sundays
Those Winter Sundays, by Robert Hayden, is a beautiful poem. Hayden s poem
tells a grown man s perspective of his father. In the poem it is clear that there is
distance between them and little communication. But it is discovered at the end of
the poem, that love is actually present. Although it is only a 14 line poem, it packs
remarkable power into each line. The very unrythmed poem begins with a very
simple line letting you know what tone and mood the poem is set in. The title

This developing tone of regret is also aided by the poet s illustration of his father
with the auditory image of cracked hands and the sensory term ached , both of
which indicate that the father s struggle with the harsh coldness (line 3). Similarly,
Hayden references his father in relation to the breaking and splintering cold to
prove that his father experienced discomfort in battling the uncomfortable
conditions, yet still triumphed (line 6). His repeated use of harsh auditory and cold
sensory imagery, culminating with a sequence indicating his father s success over
these images, represent Hayden s pensive recollection of his tough past and his
regret that he never thanked his father for taming the uncomfortable elements.
While expressing pensive regret, the poet also reveals the admiration and respect
he gained for his father over the years with the use of active and warm images.
After noting the breaking of the cold, Hayden writes that his father would call him
when the rooms were warm (line 7). In establishing this connection, the poet
effectively equates warmth with his father s efforts and presence. Hayden further
exposes his admiration for his dad when he refers to him not as his father, but rather
as the man who had driven out the cold (line 11). His emphasis on the active image,
driven , magnifies focus on the efforts of his
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Analysis
The tenth episode of season four of the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer is known as
one of the most interesting episodes of the show s entire screening. Over many years
of its showtime, Buffy has gained tremendous popularity. The show gained credibility
throughout the years since the pilot episode in 1997 and was even nominated for an
Emmy. The episode Hush includes an occasional antagonist who are formerly known
as The Gentlemen who take the voices of Sunnydale. Although the entire show is
known for its witty dialogue, this episode has very minimum lines of actual speech.
This choice of plot creates a clichГ© theme for the episode. The theme is Actions
speak louder than words. Hush however was much different from the classic Buffy
formula and took the fans of the show by surprise. In the episode Hush, the theme is
ironic because the characters deal with their problems more efficiently through their
actions than their words.
Buffy Summers and Riley Finn are one of many pairs of companions on the show.
Buffy and Riley communicate more when they cannot speak than when they have the
ability to speak. Within their early lines of dialogue, tension builds between the two
when neither could formally speak to one another about their feelings. However,
when they lose their voices during the rising conflict of the episode, they part with a
silent kiss. Buffy and Riley return to their awkward communication when they regain
their ability to speak. The comparison between when

The Negative Influence Of Youth Representation In The
Media
How are youth represented in the media and what is the possible impact on teenage
audiences?
By Bilal Nasa
With the average Australian watching approximately 24 hours a week of TV and
video alone, the effects that the media may have on teenage viewers is a national
issue. Media is the transfer of information on numerous topics to a variety of
audience, this can be done through Television, social media, radio etc. Risk taking
behavior of youth is commonly represented in the media as a positive behavior,
without underlining the possible negative outcomes of the actions. This could affect
the audience in numerous ways such as, creating a sense that risk taking behavior is
needed to make a make a point or gain interest. Unrealistic expectations of the
outcomes of risk taking behavior may also be an effect of teenage representation in
the media. The positive representation of risk taking behavior of youth may also

Fix Any Cracks Roaches and ants can enter through the tiniest cracks in your
home. A crack the size of a pencil can let in thousands of insects and young mice.
Check the outside of your home for damaged siding, rotted wood or cracks in the
foundation. Any cracks should be repaired or replaced. Caulk is a cheap option for
areas that cannot be replaced, and it can be used on foundations, siding or the roof.
4. Store Trash Properly Insects will not want to go into a home where there is not
any food. Store your trash properly to remove the food source for ants and roaches.
Food trash should only be stored in the kitchen with a lid. At night, the trash should
automatically be removed to prevent insects from making a home in it. In addition,
vacuum and sweep the floor regularly to ensure that there are no crumbs left behind.
5. Keep Foundations Secure The foundation is one of the most common entry points
for insects. Ants, fleas, termites and spiders can thrive in any area with moisture, so
remove moisture from around the foundation. Wood, grass clippings, firewood and
mulch should be placed far away from the foundation. Look for any gaps in the
foundation. If there are holes or cracks, repair

Strong poetic devices permeate throughout Macklemore s song Otherside for

He is also saying to keep him on this high of making his music instead of using
drugs to get high. Macklemore uses repetition in his songs to help emphasize what
he is talking about. One other poetic device that Macklemore uses in his song is
end rhyme. One form of end rhyme in his song would be, there s no way to glorify
this pavement/ syrup, Percocet, hit an eight a day will leave you broke depressed
and emotionally vacant, (ll.45 46). The rhyme in this line would be pavement and
vacant which is also a forced rhyme. He also states that if you become addicted to
drugs you can go broke, go into a type of depression and become emotionally
vacant in other words destroy you. Another use of end rhyme in this song would
be, surprise, you know the drill/ trapped in a box, to climb record sales/ follow the
formula violence, drugs and sex sells/ so we try to sound like someone else (ll.40
43). In this line the words that would rhyme would be sales, sells, and else.
Macklemore is also stating the fakeness of today s rappers who tend to rap about
drugs and things they haven t done when they should be rapping about their lives and
struggles they have been through. Macklemore uses end rhyme to tie in certain lines
that should be read together. Media can really affect how someone thinks or looks at
drugs and Macklemore helps explain this trough this song by using allusions,
repetitions, and end rhyme. This also applies to my life by
Essay on The Portrayal of Silas Marner
In this essay I aim to discuss the portrayal of Silas Marner in chapters 1, 2 and 14 in
the novel.
The story of Silas Marner is about how things can change in time. It also supplies a
certain message. George Elliot wrote the story in
1860. George Elliot was a female and her real name was Marian Evans.
She changed her name because it was difficult for a woman s book to be published.
Her story deals with themes of greed, jealousy and envy.
There are many morals to this story and we can learn a lot about life.

Silas Marner then became very lonely, Loneliness, Deserted, because as well as

Analysis Of The Messiah And The Psalms By Richard P....
Introduction This paper provides a summary and an assessment of the approach
for determining the relationship of a psalm to Jesus the Messiah proposed by
Richard P. Belcher Jr. in his book The Messiah and the Psalms: Preaching Christ
from all the Psalms . This paper also provides an analysis of Psalm 45 and whether
Psalm 45 should be used to teach on the church as the bride of Christ. Lastly, this
paper provides an analysis of Psalm 22 and whether Psalm 22 speaks of the Messiah.
Summary of The Messiah and the Psalms: Preaching Christ from all the Psalms
Belcher presents an overview of several possible approaches to interpreting the
Psalms, particularly in regards to determining a psalms potential relation to Jesus as
Messiah. Belcher finds strengths and weaknesses in each of the approaches but
ultimately finds them all lacking to some extent and proposes his own approach, the
Christological Approach. The foundation of Belcher s Christological Approach is
based on Jesus teaching in Luke 24:26 27, 44 47. According to Belcher, these verses
explain that the comprehensive nature of Jesus reference to the Old Testament is
meant to demonstrate that all the Old Testament speaks of Jesus in some way, not
merely those texts commonly accepted as Messianic . Thus Jesus himself gives the
divine authorization for reading all the Old Testament in reference to him. Belcher
further explains that because of Jesus statement in Luke 24:44 that the things written
about him in the Old

Vancouver is a multi cultural city which has increase lot of foreigners. Some people
argue that foreigners and immigrants influence them negatively such as the high price

Immigrated people brings new job opportunities and labor force to Vancouver. On the

Why This Book Is Not Required
For the most part, I felt that the content in This Book is Not Required was
relatively up to date. A lot of the topics were current and can be applicable to many
students, however, the book didn t go over one of the most crucial topics. The book
didn t go into detail about the biggest challenge that college students face money.
Therefore, below is my proposed idea of a chapter for This Book is Not Required .
People go to college for many reasons, whether it be to pursue their passions, to
widen their career opportunities, or to make more money. There are many possible
reasons why people want to go to college and a consensus among these would be that
going to college is an investment in one s future. However, since college is an

Workplace Violence And The Workplace
Workplace violence definition
OSHA Fact Sheet (2012) states workplace violence is a violence or the threat of
violence against workers (p.1). Workplace violence causes serious harm to employees
or homicide that can lead to deaths. Act in any kind of shapes and forms such as:

workplace violence can strike anytime, anywhere, and no one is immune.
Workplace violence categories are violence by strangers, co workers, personal
relations, and by customers or clients. Some workers, notwithstanding, are at
increased risk at certain worksites. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)

Historical Background Of Manufacturing Smes
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
In this document the researcher will present a detailed historical background of
manufacturing SMEs in Zimbabwe. The other issues to be highlighted and discussed
include problem statement, purpose or justification of the study, objectives of the
study, research questions, research hypothesis, significance of the study, research
assumptions, scope or delimitations of the study, ethical considerations and a
summary.
1.2 Background to the study (60)
Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) have become increasingly important to
Zimbabwe s economic growth. Given the increasing number of retrenches due to the
economic downturn Zimbabwe experienced, SMEs offer the best alternative means
of livelihood for most people. There is therefore, need to support the growth of this
sector so that it contributes more meaningfully to national economic development.
One of the major problems Practical Action Southern Africa has established as an
impediment to the growth of SMEs is lack of proper working capital management
systems. This presents a major constraint to their financial performance and their
survival. Given the current economic hardships hampering economic progress in
Zimbabwe the SMEs industry in one of the key industries where the economy is
pinning its hopes. However due to the stringent requirements in the financial sector it
is proving to be very difficult for the small firms to secure enough funds to
sufficiently finance their operations,
Barack Obama s President Of The Democratic National...
Michelle Obama is arguably one of the most favorably viewed public figures in
America. Throughout her husband s presidency, she used her role as first lady to
raise support for military families and advocate for healthy eating. As so, she had a
considerable impact on the 2016 election and used her influence to back the
campaign of Hillary Clinton. At the Democratic National Convention she gave an
address in which she reflected on her time as first lady and urged the audience to
give their support to Hillary Clinton. Michelle was effective in her speech through her
appeals to ethos, pathos, and logos.

Michelle told the audience, We as parents are their most important role models. And
let me tell you, Barack and I take that same approach to our jobs as President and
First Lady because we know that our words and actions matter, not just to our girls,
but the children across this country. Michelle established ethos here on the
assumption that she and Barack Obama have been effective in parenting and in
leading the children of America. The parents in attendance would be more inclined
to approve and agree with her message given she has had the same experiences
parenting that they have had. Although Michelle s appeal to ethos in light of her
parenthood was unexpected, her references to her political experience in order to
persuade the audience toward voting for Hillary was not. Regardless, both strategies
were effective in establishing the fact that she is qualified to recommend the next
President of the United States.
Early on in her speech, Michelle presented her appeal to pathos. She played on the
emotions of the audience made up partly of parents who relate to her own fears
that she has for her children as well as her pride in them. Michelle recalled of the
Democratic National Convention eight years ago, I also told you about our
daughters, how they are the heart of our hearts, the center of our world. This line

cultural categories, including nationality, ethnicity, race, gender, and religion (2014).
These identities are gained through ones own experiences. The study of cultural

The Thoughts Of Brahma And The Creation Of God
The Thoughts of Brahma is one of the creation myths in Hindu scripture that explains
the creation of the world that is Earth today. In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator
God, re creates the Earth every four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition.
To create beings, Brahma meditates and uses his mind. Brahma s thoughts are then
transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world, Brahma starts by creating the
evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the good, which
became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then
began thinking strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma
was so horrified with his actions that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he
mistakenly created ghouls as well. Upon moving on from the dark thoughts, Brahma
was able to create all of the other living things we know today.
In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the
creating is good or evil, this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the
world became what it is today, and how its inhabitants were formed.
The Thoughts of Brahma and the Christian creation stories in the book of Genesis
have similarities and differences (Genesis Chapter 1). In both creation stories, a
divine being creates the world and all of the beings that inhabit it. Some differences
are that in the Christian faith, God takes an active role in up keeping and sustaining
the earth. In the Hindu

A Study on Metafictive Devices in The French Lieutenant s Woman Abstract The
French Lieutenant s Woman is a splendid literary work written by English novelist
John Fowles. It was published in 1969 and received universally acknowledged
reputation as a masterpiece of postmodern novel. With intricate plot, the novel is
regarded as a compelling historiographic metafiction in contemporary British
literature. The characteristics of this novel are the metafictive devices employed by
the author. Different from the previous studies centered on the idea of role reversal
between characters or the analysis of sophisticated plot, this thesis is devoted to the
exploring of metafictive devices adopted in the novel. The paper will first state the...

Another characteristic is the adoption of multiple endings, adding an extra layer of
richness to the text. This kind of ending reveals the fact that the real word is full of
possibilities and fluctuations. The paradoxes of fictionality and reality constitute not
only the structure of novel but also the appearance of Sarah Woodruff. Sarah exists in
the novel as well as appears in the reality. Fowles once mentioned that The French
Lieutenant s Woman emerged from the fact that he was haunted by a recurring image
of a mysterious woman, standing motionlessly at the end of a quay and starring at the
sea. Thus Sarah in 1867 England is the materialization of Fowles haunting woman of
the 20th century. Fowles s innovative narrative techniques not only allow readers to
actively participate in the creation of his novel, but also illustrate his aim in
criticizing the female hysteria and the rigid Victorian convention. From the
perspective of sexual ethics, Sarah has been categorized as a new woman who refuses
to conform to the feminine role and the accepted ideals of marriage and maternity.
The delineation of Sarah with selfhood and autonomy displays Fowles s sensibility to
female liberation. Moreover, throughout the novel, the characters have suffered social
constraints in various manifestations. In line with the theme concerning
emancipation, Fowles has declared his resistance to be manipulated by conventional
morality and obligations. His

knowledgeable, impartial judge, fully capable of recognizing female intelligence and
of looking beyond the status quo in his pursuit of truth. Like any judge, Coras has
the discretion to select or omit certain pieces of evidence, the power to shape the
official and accepted version of the truth; however, Michel de Montaigne would
argue that Coras has a high probability of reaching a distorted verdict. Montaigne s

King Pyrrhus states, I know not...what kind of barbarians...these may be; but the
disposition of this army, that I see, has nothing of barbarism in it (Cannibals, 1).
Thus, after witnessing the advanced military formation of the Roman Army, King
Pyrrhus changed his judgment and could no longer view the Romans as barbarians.
Knowledge then, is required to make a reasonable judgment and knowledge should be
acquired firsthand.
In the next paragraph, Montaigne reveals his source of information stems from his
servent who witnessed it firsthand: I long had a man in my house that lived ten or
twelve years in the New World (Cannibals, 1). Knowledge, then, can be acquired
from a reliable source. However, Montagine purports that not all knowledge is
desirable. This is illustrated when Montagine states, I am afraid our eyes are bigger
than our bellies, and that we have more curiosity than capacity; for we grasp at all,
but catch nothing but wind (Cannibals, 1). Here, Montagine is cautious on the
discovery of the New World because the exploration of an unknown region can
manifest to something more than one can grasp or it could end up being like the
wind no great discovery at all. It is important to note that Montaigne makes
reasonable judgments from the information provided by his servant, who had lived in
the New World.
Contrary from educated men, Montaigne s servant is a simple man who is not

The One Ring In Tolkein s The Lord Of The Rings

After they encountered one of the Black Riders, Frodo admits that they are

any secret of yours closer than you keep it yourself. But you cannot trust us to let
you face trouble alone, and go off without a word (Tolkein 103). As they

Sam grew greater desire to accompany Frodo. At Elrond s Council, this gives
Gandalf the impression that the hobbits should be members of the Company: I
think, Elrond, that in this matter it would be well to trust rather to their friendship
than to great wisdom. Even if you chose for us an elf lord, such as Glorfindel, he
could not storm the Dark Tower, nor open the road to the Fire by the power that is in

against evil than to choose three other individuals with great
The Ancient Greek Society
Competition in ancient Greece set their society apart from the rest of the world
and became a greater influence on modern society. Competition was pride and a
sense of bettering oneself to achieve greater goals. Hesiod is the first to correlate
man to material. He describes mankind in five races of earthly material based upon
their malleability. Overtime the Greeks develop this theory into a popular
mindset, craftsmen and the product. Man becomes what he creates. The desire to
learn and grow invests itself in competition by the conception of medicine, sports,
art, writing, language, and war. Everything in Greek society was recognized as
either a tool or a product. Men developed their bodies in gymnasiums, children
expanded their minds in schools, the body was made immune and strong with
medicines, and the brain was built on words, conversation inspired by art,
territories seized by war. Inspired by the ancient Egyptians and their tradition of
statue portraiture the Greeks decide to develop this further. The Kroisos statue was
born, next the Kritos boy. From then on sculptors would rise to challenge to create
the perfect man, their earthly version of paying God. The Greeks incorporated math
for order and continued on their hopes for perfection. Next they added drama and
movement in marble structures resembling man and the God s. Greeks built off of
other Greeks works. They used past examples as stepping stones for self
improvement. When Greece saw its first example of

Self Driving Thesis
Thesis Statement
The increasing use of computer technology in transportation will provide us with
much greater levels of safety and reliability saving potentially millions of lives, and
make personal travel and organizational shipping more cost effective. The fear of
placing our faith in the hands of automated transportation is unfounded. It
demonstrates an irrational fear of losing control to technology. Automated systems
are statistically more stable and can be regulated to higher safety standards than can
manual human operations. Given time and further development, autonomous
transportation will become increasingly more common and prevent accidents caused
by human error. This paper will show that self driving vehicles are inevitably our
future.

Fear of Technology
One major barrier in the implementation of intelligent transportation is that there is
a common fear of technology. In one study, only 37% of women and 50% of men
say that they would feel safe in a self driving car. On top of this 46% of those
surveyed believe that a driverless car is unsafe (LeBeau). It seems that the technology
is advancing more quickly than consumer comfort levels. This is common with many
new technologies and yet, with time can be overcome.
The ultimate solution to the concern about autonomous transport technologies will be
education. Instead of viewing the AI as an ambiguous, malicious, unknowable entity
(A. Walker), one must become familiar with the tech in question. Taking a simple
computer class may help. Certainly, talking to a self driving car dealer or user will
alleviate some of the stress involved in the change. Getting interested will make all the
Black Hawk Down Analysis
Our troops went through easily the most horrible days of their lives in the Battle
of Mogadishu. They spent a full day, which presumably felt like an eternity,
fighting their hearts out for our country. The novel Black Hawk Down illustrates
the story of the horrific battle that took place on October 3, 1903 (Bowden 3),
moreover, BHD teaches us important lessons that especially apply to teenagers in
MUSD because we have a marine base in 29 Palms. The knowledge we acquire
from BHD relating to the battle, the men s experiences, and the families worries
allow us to behave respectfully in our community. This book presents us with
knowledge of what battle is truly like, moreover, how extensive the preparation the
troops go through is. They are trained for every predictable scenario, even how to act
in captivity (Bowden 307). The troops additionally experienced intense fighting,
furthermore, real battles are much more horrible than we can imagine and quick
thinking is necessary. The American teaches soldiers that they cannot shoot unless
fired upon, but this rule was broken during this heated battle in order to potentially
save lives for Americans. (Anderson). This educates us by emphasizing that that
training and rules do not always apply. The death toll of the troops was quite severe.
It depleted the present community of both America and Somalia. Eighteen
Americans died and over 70 were wounded. At least 500 Somalis were killed and
over 1,00 wounded, most of them civilians

See Dixon v. Spencer, 59 Md. 246, 247 48 (1883). The surety, however, becomes
subrogated to the rights of the obligee when the surety pays the debt for the
principal obligor. See Weast v. Arnold, 299 Md. 540, 553, 474 A.2d 904, 911
(1984). With respect to notice of default, the surety is ordinarily held to know
every default of his principal because he is under a duty to make inquiry and
ascertain whether the principal obligor is discharging the obligation resting on him.
See L. Simpson, supra, В§ 41, at 165 ( [I]t is generally not necessary for the creditor
to notify the surety of the fact that the principal debtor is in default on his promise. It
is the duty of the surety to the creditor to see that the debt is paid. ). Consequently, the
surety is ordinarily liable without notice. Gen. Motors Acceptance Corp. v. Daniels,
303 Md. 254, 259 60 (1985) (emphasis added). Accordingly, in the event that an
adverse final judgment is obtained against Tristate, Progressive will be liable to the
Plaintiffs to the same extent that Tristate is liable to the Plaintiffs for the entire
amount of the judgment. The Plaintiffs may elect the entity from whom they wish to
collect that judgment without first exhausting Tristate s assets. If, however, the
Plaintiffs elect to collect from Progressive, then, Progressive could seek

There Are Three Lines To Live In The Labyrinth
Notwithstanding, in the same text (we could, of course, quote many others), there
is also evidence of an acquaintance with the pre socratic unity of opposites (later
adapted by Nicolau of Cusa to the idea of God), by means of which a straight line is
potentially no different from a circular line (plus, a formulation that is also
reminiscent of Zeno s Paradoxes of Motion):
There are three lines too many in your labyrinth, he said at last. I know of a Greek
labyrinth that is but one straight line. So many philosophers have been lost upon
that line that a mere detective might be pardoned if he became lost as well. When
you hunt me down in another avatar of our lives, Scharlach, I suggest that you

then a third crime at C, four kilometers from A and B and halfway between them.
Then wait for me at D, two kilometers from A and C, once again halfway between
them. Kill me at D, as you are about to kill me at Triste le Roy.

The Mental Health Of Adolescents Essay
Student s name Instructor s name Course Date Health Care Introduction The mental
health of adolescents is fairly considered to be one of the major prerequisites of the
country s sustainable development in economics, culture, and social life.
Subsequently, the easy and nondiscriminatory access to the psychological treatment
appears to be a matter of top priority for the federal government. Nevertheless, the
recent statistical data indicates the substantial problems in terms of providing the
adolescents with the necessary medical support. In accordance with the US
Department of Health Human Services, in 2014, less than 50% of the country s
adolescent population were provided with a required treatment (US Department of
Health Human Services). Moreover, the data on the minorities access to the mental
health treatment demonstrates that, for instance, African Americans are twice as
likely as whites to be prescribed a treatment from schizophrenia (American
Psychological Association). Undoubtedly, such a trend may be primarily explained
by the insufficient efforts of both federal and local health care institutions in terms of
providing the minorities representatives with the necessary psychological treatment.
Consequently, in order to understand comprehensively the problem of the adolescent

Lady Lazarus by Sylvia Plath
Lady Lazarus was written by Sylvia Plath. On a literal level, this poem is about
death and attempting suicide. It is most likely that it was written from Plath s
personal experience as she was known for her suicidal nature. This poem has 28
tercet stanzas. There is no clear rhyme scheme yet rhyming can be found
throughout this poem, for example I have done it again/One year in every ten , so
there is an irregular rhyme scheme. Literary devices such as end stopped lines and
enjambment are also used: What a trash/To annihilate each decade. One important
aspect is the demonic tone of this poem. The way that Plath seems to tell the story
as if it were a show or carnival is another aspect which ties in to the demonic tone of

There are a number of themes brought up in Lady Lazarus . One theme is the
holocaust. In the 2nd stanza, Plath mentions a Nazi lampshade . This refers to the
myth that the Nazis used Jewish skin from the victims of the holocaust to make
pieces of furniture such as lampshade and paperweight . This idea adds to the
disturbance of the poem whilst illustrating the main theme of death. Another theme is
the phoenix. This is a mythical, red haired bird that burns when it dies and
resurrects out of the ash. Plath describes this process in her poem: I turn and
burn...Out of the ash/I rise with my red hair . The idea of the phoenix resurrecting
gives the reader powerful imagery whilst reinforcing the fact that Sylvia Plath
wants to die but keeps coming back to life, like a phoenix. However, she sees this
as a negative, which relates to, in my opinion, the most important aspect of this
poem: the demonic tone. Plath uses carnival imagery to convey the image of her
death being like a show, where people come to watch: The Peanut crunching crowd
/Shoves in to see . This idea is disturbing and adds to the demonic tone of the poem.
Also, she refers to Satan in the 27th stanza: Herr God, Herr Lucifer ; she is also
demonising God in this quote, which is blasphemous and some might say evil.
Finally, the image of a fire doesn t just relate to a phoenix burning but also the fires
of hell : ...melts to a shriek./I turn and
Analysis Of Albert Camus s Myth Of Sisyphus
Among the many casualties of World War II was the surviving populace s faith in the
previously unshakable institutions they had defined so much of their life around.
Formerly vaunted, unquestionable axes of life religion, national pride, community
life had been irreversibly stripped of their unquestioned status. One would assume
that the dissipation of such illusions would be up the alley of part time philosopher
and full time writer Albert Camus, who had eloquently laid out his opinions on such
human constructs in his Myth of Sisyphus. Much like the cursed king of Greek
myth, man s search for meaning in an absurd world was an endless and fruitless
task, doomed to go on forever. Abandoning reason to place one s faith in an
imaginary God or supposedly immutable calling was a worthless effort: one should
embrace their own life and live it within one s own boundaries. Paradoxically
enough, the descent of the Nazi war machine upon Europe, and with it the rejection
of those leaps of faith, caused camus Myth and devoted himself to resisting the
terror of Fascism, a struggle symbolically represented in his novel La Peste (The
Plague) by the sleepy Algerian town of Oran and its struggle against a deadly
outbreak. In a sense, Camus moved past the personal and perpetual rebellion against
the Absurd to confront a ephemeral and collective threat no less existential. Unlike
the lone absurd hero of the Myth, who much like Sisyphus we must imagine to be
happy even in the face of
The Nature Of Theatre In EuripidesBacchae
In Bacchae, Euripides explores the nature of theatre through Dionysus confrontation
with his mortal royal family, who has denied him a place of honor as a god.
Euripides employs costume and choral narration to portray Dionysus as a director of
his own play and a patron of art, illuminating the spiritually intoxicating and
transformative nature of theatre.
The prologue introduces Dionysus, setting the scene of the drama while inviting the
audience to examine the nature of theatre through metatheatrical elements of the play.
Dionysus introduces himself to the audience and declares, I have changed from
divine to human form, and here I am (5 6). Through Dionysus disguise, Euripides
alludes to the use of theatre costume. Furthermore, at the close of the prologue,
Dionysus directs the chorus on stage:
Now come, my sacred band of women,
That came with me from the bulwark of Lydia,
Mt. Tmolus, companions in my journey from abroad.
Take up the drums, the native drums of Phrygia, the ones I discovered, I and Mother
Rhea.
(55 59)
In this moment of theatrical self consciousness, Dionysus transcends the narrative of
the story. He is a director of the play rather than the protagonist and not only guides
his religious followers, but the actors of the performance.
While theatre allows actors to assume the psyche of another character, Dionysus,
similarly, provides his worshipers the freedom to take upon a new persona and
achieve spiritual ecstasy and revelation through theatre.
The Obligations That Employers Have Under Current
Legislation
Both these voluntary clauses identify in brief form the obligations that employers
have under current legislation. They can often be helpful, particularly when used
in conjunction with a clause outlining the obligations of employees, in establishing
the commitment of both parties to a successful relationship. Wages: When you
hire your first employees, you have some responsibilities to that employee, and to
all future employees, relating to compensation. These responsibilities are codified
under federal laws: You must pay at least the minimum wage (unless the employee
receives tips or is somehow not subject to minimum wage. the wages of the
department assistant is $14.75 per hour. They review it and increase it every year.
The managers has yearly package. Holidays: New world is open on public
holidays except Christmas Eve. Leave: after 3 months of trial period the annual
leave hours start adding for someone who works at New world away according to
their contract they signed. Hours of work and shifts: the standard full time
contract has 45 hours contract with 9 hours 5 days and 2 day offs. As Countdown
is always busy they need staff for over time and they give 1 and half pay if they work
over 45 hours. The part timers usually have 2 shifts of 10 hours a day. New world
takes health and safety very serious as the work at New world involves heavy lifting
and cutting so with the contract every employee fill out the ACC form too. So in
case of any injury the employees can take
The Effects Of Alcohol Related Incidents On Children
Research Essay
Economics
Andrew McWhinney
Australia is regarded by many as a relaxed and carefree country, who enjoys a drink
or two on a Sunday afternoon. As a result, BBQ s and major sporting events have
become accustom to providing and allowing the consumption of alcohol.
Consequently, the negative effects caused by alcohol abuse have risen so drastically
that the Australian Government has installed several practises to ultimately eradicate
the outbreak of negative behaviour surrounding alcohol related incidents.
According to World Health Organization , alcohol is classified as a depressant drug
that under certain circumstances can have devastating effects on the human body.

For e.g. , when demand is perfectly elastic, by definition consumers have an infinite
ability to switch to alternatives if the price increases, so they would stop buying the
good or service in question completely quantity demanded would fall to zero. In the
opposite case, when demand is perfectly inelastic, by definition consumers have no
alternative to purchasing the good or service if the price increases, so the quantity
demanded would remain constant. Hence, suppliers can increase the price by the full
amount of the tax, and the consumer would end up paying the entirety. (Smith, 2013).
In reality, demand is expected to be relatively elastic or relatively inelastic, that is,
somewhere between the extreme cases of perfect elasticity or inelasticity (Kelvy,
2012). In the case of the alcopop tax , demand is elastic as there are many alternative
beverages the consumer can purchase in place of alcopops .
Since the introduction of the alcopops tax in 2008, evidence suggests that its
introduction has not achieved its anticipated results in decreasing the quantity of
alcohol youth consume. According to the University of Queensland, The increased
tax on `alcopops was not associated with any reduction in hospital admissions for
alcohol related harms in Queensland 15 29 year olds (UQ, 2013).

Syndactyly Essay
Type II syndactyly or synpolydactyly(SPD) is a semi dominant inherited limb
malformation that involves a fusion of digits. It is caused by mutations in
HOXD13 on chromosome 2 due to polyalanine repeat expansions. Polyalanine
repeats in SPD are mitotically and meiotically stable, causing polymorphisms to be
rare, unlike other nucleotide repeat expansions such as Friedreich s ataxia.
HOXD13 is a member of the HOX family, a family of transcription factors that are
proteins which contain homeodomain that are important for controlling cell fate
along the limb axes and body. HOXD13 is a part of the HOXD genecluster and
crucial for limb development, particularly during the early and late stages of limb
development. The stage occurs during the creation of the limb buds at week 4, during
this stage the limbs have AP polarity through the expression of sonic hedgehog(shh)
signaling from the zone of polarizing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second stage occurs during the outward growth of the distal limb regions which
depends greatly on sonic hedgehog expression at week 6 day 52 is when hand is
fully formed. In both stages HOXD genes are critical since they are involved in
initiation of shh expression during the earlier stage and mediation of shh signaling
from within the limbs during the second stage. The resulting phenotype of HOXD13
mutants display limb malformations. There is much fewer missense and nonsense
mutations in HOXD13 and the most common mutation is the addition of 7 14 in the
N terminal polyalanine repeats of the HOXD13 gene. When the gene is abnormal
from the polyalanine repeat mutation, it produces an abnormal protein which
destabilizes the normal protein confirmation, causing aggregation. Once this occurs,
it halts the protein translocation which occurs from the cytoplasm to the nucleus
where it acts as a transcription factor. Additionally, the size of the polyalanine repeats
directly correlates with the severity of

  • 1. Good Argument Essay Example Crafting an essay on the topic of a "Good Argument Essay Example" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty arises from the need to strike a balance between presenting a compelling argument and adhering to the conventions of essay writing. One must navigate through the intricacies of selecting a strong thesis statement, providing relevant evidence to support the argument, and maintaining a coherent structure throughout the essay. The initial hurdle lies in identifying a persuasive argument that is not only interesting but also has sufficient depth to explore. The process involves brainstorming ideas, researching various perspectives, and ultimately honing in on a unique angle that adds value to the discourse. Crafting a compelling thesis statement is crucial, as it serves as the foundation upon which the entire essay rests. Once the thesis is established, the challenge then shifts to finding credible evidence and examples to substantiate the argument. This requires extensive research and critical analysis to ensure that the supporting points are robust and relevant. Integrating these elements seamlessly into the essay while maintaining a clear and logical flow adds another layer of complexity. Structuring the essay effectively is yet another demanding aspect. A well-organized essay should have a coherent introduction, body paragraphs that develop the argument, and a strong conclusion that reinforces the thesis. Striking the right balance between depth and conciseness is crucial, as the essay should be comprehensive enough to persuade the reader but not so overwhelming that it loses clarity. Moreover, maintaining a formal and academic tone throughout the essay poses its own set of challenges. The language used should be precise, and transitions between ideas should be smooth to ensure a seamless reading experience. Additionally, attention to grammar, punctuation, and overall writing mechanics is paramount. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of a "Good Argument Essay Example" requires a careful blend of creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency. In your response, make a detailed reference to your prescribed text. The novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time by Mark Haddon conveys the author s perspective on personal challenges. The important challenges that Haddon conveys is through a fifteen year old teenager named Christopher who is diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. The narrative voice of Christopher is not linked with fact or logic but is based on reasoning and reveals his great need of order in a disordered world. Haddon is trying to point out that people with a chronic disease need to be acknowledged and need people that are close and distant from them to act in a respectful matter and respect the mutations of people with a disability. Another important idea that Haddon refers to is having a disability segregates someone from the rest of the society and they are seen as eccentric. Christopher s disability not only affects him, but it also affects his family and the people surrounding him. The stresses with living with Christopher are shown he is lying on the floor in a shop, in pool of urine and surrounded by bits of broken mixer. This is shown through Judy s narrative voice. Christopher is convey as putting stress on his parents and on their relationships as shown in the novel as his parents being separated. Although he is clearly intelligent to go to university, coping there will take a great deal of adjustment on his part and ongoing support from his parents and Siobhan who is a teacher at his school.

The Juilliard School is one of the world s premiere performing arts conservatories located in New York. It trains in the fields of Dance, Drama and Music. Its an extremely competitive school and very difficult to get into. Walking into the Julliard School also had a unique feeling, seeing how students were dressed very formal and also didn t feel like a school environment. My experience was good overall. • 5. The Printing Press by Johannes Gutenberg In the 1450s, a German goldsmith named Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press, which revolutionized the world of publishing (The Printing Press, 2005). Since then, hundreds of word processing programs have been developed, along with thousands of new fonts, from Times New Roman to Comic Sans. Marketing professionals and scientists around the world have wondered what kinds of fonts stick in a person s memory over others (Dizikes, 2013). The concepts of how memory functions, how the brainprocesses information and how font and memory are connected in psychology are essential to better understand this idea. The short term memories are stored in the hippocampus, the long term are stored in the cerebral cortex, and the flashbulb memories are stored in a special part of the cerebral cortex called the amygdala (Young 2010; Hamzelou, 2011). Short term memory can hold seven items of information for fifteen to twenty seconds. Information that was received verbally and information that was received visually are kept in different places in short term memory. To make the most of the limits of short term memory, the brain chunks two to three facts into one unit of information. Long term memory, however, is stored by significance and meaning rather than the sequence in which they were received. The two kinds of long term memory are implicit and explicit memories. Implicit memories are unconsciously remembered, like how to open doors. Explicit memories are consciously remembered. There are three types of explicit memory: episodic, semantic, and declarative. Episodic memories are memories of events that took place, like a memory of attending a party. Semantic memories are facts, figures, and general knowledge, like the capital of France. Declarative memories are of people, places, and things, such as names and faces (Foster, 2011; Greenberg, 1987; Fields, 2005). Both long term and short term memories travel between neurons, as does any memory. The structure that enables a connection between the neurons is called a synapse. Short term memory has temporary synapse strengthening and

Back then, the American Dream meant a new chance and possibilities only limited by your skills. There was no more nobility and discrimination, for the Europeans at least. So back then the American Dream was a basic principle that nobody should decide what you could or could not be, only your abilities to do so would have any influence upon that. You were given a plot of land and could then build a house or mine for gold. Those principles have changed over the years, as some of the Americans seem to have forgotten their own history. Why should those with the exact same background as their own forefathers be given any less? Of cause, not all Americans have forgotten. Some have retained their ancestral stance towards immigration; man is created equal. Nowadays, the situation in America has changed and as such, there have also been changes in the American Dream. How could there not? Instead of the relative equality, the wealth of the Americans is being held by an increasingly small number of people. So is the American Dream dead? No, or at least I don t think so. I don t even think it has gotten harder, there have just come new sets of difficulties in place of the old. Most of the residents in the populated parts of

His repeated use of harsh auditory and cold sensory imagery, culminating with a sequence indicating his father s success over these images, represent Hayden s pensive recollection of his tough past and his regret that he never thanked his father for taming the uncomfortable elements. While expressing pensive regret, the poet also reveals the admiration and respect he gained for his father over the years with the use of active and warm images. After noting the breaking of the cold, Hayden writes that his father would call him when the rooms were warm (line 7). In establishing this connection, the poet effectively equates warmth with his father s efforts and presence. Hayden further exposes his admiration for his dad when he refers to him not as his father, but rather as the man who had driven out the cold (line 11). His emphasis on the active image, driven , magnifies focus on the efforts of his

Over many years of its showtime, Buffy has gained tremendous popularity. The show gained credibility throughout the years since the pilot episode in 1997 and was even nominated for an Emmy. The episode Hush includes an occasional antagonist who are formerly known as The Gentlemen who take the voices of Sunnydale. Although the entire show is known for its witty dialogue, this episode has very minimum lines of actual speech. This choice of plot creates a clichГ© theme for the episode. The theme is Actions speak louder than words. Hush however was much different from the classic Buffy formula and took the fans of the show by surprise. In the episode Hush, the theme is ironic because the characters deal with their problems more efficiently through their actions than their words. Buffy Summers and Riley Finn are one of many pairs of companions on the show. Buffy and Riley communicate more when they cannot speak than when they have the ability to speak. Within their early lines of dialogue, tension builds between the two when neither could formally speak to one another about their feelings. However, when they lose their voices during the rising conflict of the episode, they part with a silent kiss. Buffy and Riley return to their awkward communication when they regain their ability to speak. The comparison between when

Belcher Jr. in his book The Messiah and the Psalms: Preaching Christ from all the Psalms . This paper also provides an analysis of Psalm 45 and whether Psalm 45 should be used to teach on the church as the bride of Christ. Lastly, this paper provides an analysis of Psalm 22 and whether Psalm 22 speaks of the Messiah. Summary of The Messiah and the Psalms: Preaching Christ from all the Psalms Belcher presents an overview of several possible approaches to interpreting the Psalms, particularly in regards to determining a psalms potential relation to Jesus as Messiah. Belcher finds strengths and weaknesses in each of the approaches but ultimately finds them all lacking to some extent and proposes his own approach, the Christological Approach. The foundation of Belcher s Christological Approach is based on Jesus teaching in Luke 24:26 27, 44 47. According to Belcher, these verses explain that the comprehensive nature of Jesus reference to the Old Testament is meant to demonstrate that all the Old Testament speaks of Jesus in some way, not merely those texts commonly accepted as Messianic . Thus Jesus himself gives the divine authorization for reading all the Old Testament in reference to him. Belcher further explains that because of Jesus statement in Luke 24:44 that the things written about him in the Old

Michelle established ethos here on the assumption that she and Barack Obama have been effective in parenting and in leading the children of America. The parents in attendance would be more inclined to approve and agree with her message given she has had the same experiences parenting that they have had. In this story, Brahma, the Hindu creator God, re creates the Earth every four ages to bring the Earth to its original condition. To create beings, Brahma meditates and uses his mind. Brahma s thoughts are then transformed into beings. To begin inhabiting the world, Brahma starts by creating the evil or demons, this becomes the darkness. Brahma then creates the good, which became the light. Afterwards, Brahma begins to create human beings. Brahma then began thinking strangely, and as a result, horrible creatures were created. Brahma was so horrified with his actions that all the hairs on his head fell out, and he mistakenly created ghouls as well. Upon moving on from the dark thoughts, Brahma was able to create all of the other living things we know today. In Thoughts of Brahma, the central theme of the story is creation. Whether the creating is good or evil, this myth focuses on explaining the process on how the world became what it is today, and how its inhabitants were formed. The Thoughts of Brahma and the Christian creation stories in the book of Genesis have similarities and differences (Genesis Chapter 1). In both creation stories, a divine being creates the world and all of the beings that inhabit it. Some differences are that in the Christian faith, God takes an active role in up keeping and sustaining the earth. In the Hindu

King Pyrrhus states, I know not...what kind of barbarians...these may be; but the disposition of this army, that I see, has nothing of barbarism in it (Cannibals, 1). Thus, after witnessing the advanced military formation of the Roman Army, King Pyrrhus changed his judgment and could no longer view the Romans as barbarians. Knowledge then, is required to make a reasonable judgment and knowledge should be acquired firsthand. In the next paragraph, Montaigne reveals his source of information stems from his servent who witnessed it firsthand: I long had a man in my house that lived ten or twelve years in the New World (Cannibals, 1). Knowledge, then, can be acquired from a reliable source. However, Montagine purports that not all knowledge is desirable. This is illustrated when Montagine states, I am afraid our eyes are bigger than our bellies, and that we have more curiosity than capacity; for we grasp at all, but catch nothing but wind (Cannibals, 1). Here, Montagine is cautious on the discovery of the New World because the exploration of an unknown region can manifest to something more than one can grasp or it could end up being like the wind no great discovery at all. It is important to note that Montaigne makes reasonable judgments from the information provided by his servant, who had lived in the New World. Contrary from educated men, Montaigne s servant is a simple man who is not compelled to interpret on what he

Competition was pride and a sense of bettering oneself to achieve greater goals. Hesiod is the first to correlate man to material. He describes mankind in five races of earthly material based upon their malleability. Overtime the Greeks develop this theory into a popular mindset, craftsmen and the product. Man becomes what he creates. The desire to learn and grow invests itself in competition by the conception of medicine, sports, art, writing, language, and war. Everything in Greek society was recognized as either a tool or a product. Men developed their bodies in gymnasiums, children expanded their minds in schools, the body was made immune and strong with medicines, and the brain was built on words, conversation inspired by art, territories seized by war. Inspired by the ancient Egyptians and their tradition of statue portraiture the Greeks decide to develop this further. The Kroisos statue was born, next the Kritos boy. From then on sculptors would rise to challenge to create the perfect man, their earthly version of paying God. The Greeks incorporated math for order and continued on their hopes for perfection. Subsequently, the easy and nondiscriminatory access to the psychological treatment appears to be a matter of top priority for the federal government. Nevertheless, the recent statistical data indicates the substantial problems in terms of providing the adolescents with the necessary medical support. In accordance with the US Department of Health Human Services, in 2014, less than 50% of the country s adolescent population were provided with a required treatment (US Department of Health Human Services). Moreover, the data on the minorities access to the mental health treatment demonstrates that, for instance, African Americans are twice as likely as whites to be prescribed a treatment from schizophrenia (American Psychological Association). Undoubtedly, such a trend may be primarily explained by the insufficient efforts of both federal and local health care institutions in terms of providing the minorities representatives with the necessary psychological treatment. It is most likely that it was written from Plath s personal experience as she was known for her suicidal nature. This poem has 28 tercet stanzas. There is no clear rhyme scheme yet rhyming can be found throughout this poem, for example I have done it again/One year in every ten , so there is an irregular rhyme scheme. Literary devices such as end stopped lines and enjambment are also used: What a trash/To annihilate each decade. One important aspect is the demonic tone of this poem. The way that Plath seems to tell the story as if it were a show or carnival is another aspect which ties in to the demonic tone of Lady... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are a number of themes brought up in Lady Lazarus . One theme is the holocaust. In the 2nd stanza, Plath mentions a Nazi lampshade . This refers to the myth that the Nazis used Jewish skin from the victims of the holocaust to make pieces of furniture such as lampshade and paperweight . This idea adds to the disturbance of the poem whilst illustrating the main theme of death. Another theme is the phoenix. This is a mythical, red haired bird that burns when it dies and resurrects out of the ash. Plath describes this process in her poem: I turn and burn...Out of the ash/I rise with my red hair . The idea of the phoenix resurrecting gives the reader powerful imagery whilst reinforcing the fact that Sylvia Plath wants to die but keeps coming back to life, like a phoenix. However, she sees this as a negative, which relates to, in my opinion, the most important aspect of this poem: the demonic tone. Plath uses carnival imagery to convey the image of her death being like a show, where people come to watch: The Peanut crunching crowd /Shoves in to see . This idea is disturbing and adds to the demonic tone of the poem. Also, she refers to Satan in the 27th stanza: Herr God, Herr Lucifer ; she is also demonising God in this quote, which is blasphemous and some might say evil. Finally, the image of a fire doesn t just relate to a phoenix burning but also the fires of hell : ...melts to a shriek./I turn and
  • 41. Analysis Of Albert Camus s Myth Of Sisyphus Among the many casualties of World War II was the surviving populace s faith in the previously unshakable institutions they had defined so much of their life around. Formerly vaunted, unquestionable axes of life religion, national pride, community life had been irreversibly stripped of their unquestioned status. One would assume that the dissipation of such illusions would be up the alley of part time philosopher and full time writer Albert Camus, who had eloquently laid out his opinions on such human constructs in his Myth of Sisyphus. Much like the cursed king of Greek myth, man s search for meaning in an absurd world was an endless and fruitless task, doomed to go on forever. Abandoning reason to place one s faith in an imaginary God or supposedly immutable calling was a worthless effort: one should embrace their own life and live it within one s own boundaries. Paradoxically enough, the descent of the Nazi war machine upon Europe, and with it the rejection of those leaps of faith, caused camus Myth and devoted himself to resisting the terror of Fascism, a struggle symbolically represented in his novel La Peste (The Plague) by the sleepy Algerian town of Oran and its struggle against a deadly outbreak. In a sense, Camus moved past the personal and perpetual rebellion against the Absurd to confront a ephemeral and collective threat no less existential. Unlike the lone absurd hero of the Myth, who much like Sisyphus we must imagine to be happy even in the face of
  • 42. The Nature Of Theatre In EuripidesBacchae In Bacchae, Euripides explores the nature of theatre through Dionysus confrontation with his mortal royal family, who has denied him a place of honor as a god. Euripides employs costume and choral narration to portray Dionysus as a director of his own play and a patron of art, illuminating the spiritually intoxicating and transformative nature of theatre. The prologue introduces Dionysus, setting the scene of the drama while inviting the audience to examine the nature of theatre through metatheatrical elements of the play. Dionysus introduces himself to the audience and declares, I have changed from divine to human form, and here I am (5 6). Through Dionysus disguise, Euripides alludes to the use of theatre costume. Furthermore, at the close of the prologue, Dionysus directs the chorus on stage: Now come, my sacred band of women, That came with me from the bulwark of Lydia, Mt. Tmolus, companions in my journey from abroad. Take up the drums, the native drums of Phrygia, the ones I discovered, I and Mother Rhea. (55 59) In this moment of theatrical self consciousness, Dionysus transcends the narrative of the story. He is a director of the play rather than the protagonist and not only guides his religious followers, but the actors of the performance. While theatre allows actors to assume the psyche of another character, Dionysus, similarly, provides his worshipers the freedom to take upon a new persona and achieve spiritual ecstasy and revelation through theatre.
  • 43. The Obligations That Employers Have Under Current Legislation Both these voluntary clauses identify in brief form the obligations that employers have under current legislation. They can often be helpful, particularly when used in conjunction with a clause outlining the obligations of employees, in establishing the commitment of both parties to a successful relationship. Wages: When you hire your first employees, you have some responsibilities to that employee, and to all future employees, relating to compensation. These responsibilities are codified under federal laws: You must pay at least the minimum wage (unless the employee receives tips or is somehow not subject to minimum wage. the wages of the department assistant is $14.75 per hour. They review it and increase it every year. The managers has yearly package. Holidays: New world is open on public holidays except Christmas Eve. Leave: after 3 months of trial period the annual leave hours start adding for someone who works at New world away according to their contract they signed. Hours of work and shifts: the standard full time contract has 45 hours contract with 9 hours 5 days and 2 day offs. As Countdown is always busy they need staff for over time and they give 1 and half pay if they work over 45 hours. The part timers usually have 2 shifts of 10 hours a day. New world takes health and safety very serious as the work at New world involves heavy lifting and cutting so with the contract every employee fill out the ACC form too. So in case of any injury the employees can take
  • 44. The Effects Of Alcohol Related Incidents On Children Research Essay Economics Andrew McWhinney Australia is regarded by many as a relaxed and carefree country, who enjoys a drink or two on a Sunday afternoon. As a result, BBQ s and major sporting events have become accustom to providing and allowing the consumption of alcohol. Consequently, the negative effects caused by alcohol abuse have risen so drastically that the Australian Government has installed several practises to ultimately eradicate the outbreak of negative behaviour surrounding alcohol related incidents. According to World Health Organization , alcohol is classified as a depressant drug that under certain circumstances can have devastating effects on the human body. Most distinctively; a higher chance of depression and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For e.g. , when demand is perfectly elastic, by definition consumers have an infinite ability to switch to alternatives if the price increases, so they would stop buying the good or service in question completely quantity demanded would fall to zero. In the opposite case, when demand is perfectly inelastic, by definition consumers have no alternative to purchasing the good or service if the price increases, so the quantity demanded would remain constant. Hence, suppliers can increase the price by the full amount of the tax, and the consumer would end up paying the entirety. (Smith, 2013). In reality, demand is expected to be relatively elastic or relatively inelastic, that is, somewhere between the extreme cases of perfect elasticity or inelasticity (Kelvy, 2012). In the case of the alcopop tax , demand is elastic as there are many alternative beverages the consumer can purchase in place of alcopops . Since the introduction of the alcopops tax in 2008, evidence suggests that its introduction has not achieved its anticipated results in decreasing the quantity of alcohol youth consume. According to the University of Queensland, The increased tax on `alcopops was not associated with any reduction in hospital admissions for alcohol related harms in Queensland 15 29 year olds (UQ, 2013). • 45. Syndactyly Essay Type II syndactyly or synpolydactyly(SPD) is a semi dominant inherited limb malformation that involves a fusion of digits. It is caused by mutations in HOXD13 on chromosome 2 due to polyalanine repeat expansions. Polyalanine repeats in SPD are mitotically and meiotically stable, causing polymorphisms to be rare, unlike other nucleotide repeat expansions such as Friedreich s ataxia. HOXD13 is a member of the HOX family, a family of transcription factors that are proteins which contain homeodomain that are important for controlling cell fate along the limb axes and body. HOXD13 is a part of the HOXD genecluster and crucial for limb development, particularly during the early and late stages of limb development. The stage occurs during the creation of the limb buds at week 4, during this stage the limbs have AP polarity through the expression of sonic hedgehog(shh) signaling from the zone of polarizing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second stage occurs during the outward growth of the distal limb regions which depends greatly on sonic hedgehog expression at week 6 day 52 is when hand is fully formed. In both stages HOXD genes are critical since they are involved in initiation of shh expression during the earlier stage and mediation of shh signaling from within the limbs during the second stage. The resulting phenotype of HOXD13 mutants display limb malformations. There is much fewer missense and nonsense mutations in HOXD13 and the most common mutation is the addition of 7 14 in the N terminal polyalanine repeats of the HOXD13 gene. When the gene is abnormal from the polyalanine repeat mutation, it produces an abnormal protein which destabilizes the normal protein confirmation, causing aggregation. Once this occurs, it halts the protein translocation which occurs from the cytoplasm to the nucleus where it acts as a transcription factor. Additionally, the size of the polyalanine repeats directly correlates with the severity of
