Analysis Of Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn
INTRODUCTION
Out of the four gospels, Mark s gospel seems to be the one most focused on Jesus s miracles. This
paper will be looking at the purpose and meaning of these miracles. First, what is a miracle? A miracle
is, a special act of God that interrupts the natural course of events. There are three different kinds of
miracles that Jesus does: exorcisms, nature miracles, and healings. Just as there are three kinds of
miracles, there seem to be three different purposes for His miracles. These are to attract people, to
prove Jesus was the Messiah, and to show God s characteristics.
Before one can discuss the purpose and meaning of His account of Jesus miracles, it is important to
define what Mark s goal was with writing this Gospel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
MIRACLES IN ANCIENT HISTORY Greek and ancient Near Eastern societies understood the
occurrences of miraculous events as evidence of spiritual beings and the divine participating in earthly
affairs. Typical Greek and ancient Near Eastern cosmologies reserved an essential role for deities and
spiritual beings within the natural order of the world. Although miraculous events were extraordinary,
they were not considered contraindications to the natural order. Common miraculous events that
occurred in ancient society included: healings, oracles, celestial portents, extraordinary natural events
(eg. earthquakes). The distinction between miracle and magic derives from the observer s perspective,
which can involve numerous factors, including; group membership; historical context; cultural
context; and theological views. In the fifth and fourth centuries bc, many Greeks and Romans came to
suspect traditional healers, diviners, prophets, and wonder workers of being magicians . In the Roman
imperial period, Christ followers recognized wonders performed by or through God as miracles and
commonly characterized all other wonders as magic performed by or through the devil. Stratton refers
to this as the Christian magic discourse (e.g., Acts 8:9 15; 13:6 12; Stratton Naming the Witch, 107 41;
see also Remus, Pagan Christian Conflict, 48 82; Lampe, Miracles and Apologetic, 205 18).

How Does Vonnegut Use Satire In The Space Race
I choose the Space Race for my historical topic and I believe that it connects to Harrison Bergeron
because the short story shows how fast we are developing in technology. The fact that Vonnegut
thought of this in 1961 is amazing. Vonnegut uses satire in the piece by emphasizing the fact of just
because we can doesn t mean we should, making everyone equal would be possible but we shouldn t
do it. With the Space Race at the time it shows how we are developing at a fast pace and the short
story shows that if everyone was equal advancements would stop without the smart minds in the world
we would go nowhere. The overall outcome of the short story, by outcome I mean the end result of
harrison being shot, wouldn t happen either way, of course we

The Pros And Cons Of The Holy Trinity Doctrine
Once, there were words saying If you try to explain the Trinity, you will lose your mind, but if you
deny it, you will lose your soul . (Pritchard) The knowledge of God the Trinity is the center of the
Christian faith. Yet many believers have got confused in understanding the true natures of the
personalities and relationships of each person in God the Trinity. Endless questions continuously
appear, again and again, giving Christians a sense of extremely misty confusion towards the
magnificent attributes of every person in the Trinity. Who has an answer to these questions? None,
none but God Himself who has given us guidance through a lot of ways, as He is the supreme creator
and ruler of knowledge. The Bible itself is the strongest, richest, and most dependable source of ...

Early saints or early Christian teachers, have been discussing the Trinity deeply and deliberately for
decades, as it is one of the most complex teachings written in the Bible. One of the most reliable
doctrines of the Trinity is The Holy Trinity Doctrine. The Holy Trinity Doctrine was one of the
doctrines created during the first few ages where Christianity just started developing. This doctrine
was created in the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. During this discussion, diverse points were given by
theologists. Thoughts named as Tritheism, Unitarism, and Arianism are present. Tritheism focuses that
there are three separate Gods, promoting polytheism, Unitarism focuses on God the Father most, and
separates Christ and the Holy Spirit into a different category of deity, thus changing their divinity, and
Arianism promotes Jesus Christ as a creation of God during the Creation. Other than these three, there
are also other strong doctrines about the Trinity from the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed which
came from the Council of Nicea, and the Athanasian

Taco Bell Advertising
Michael Memis
October 23, 2016
English P8 Recently, Taco Bell had a commercial on the VR (Virtual Reality) headsets which people
could win if they bought a $5 Big Buck Box. A person from the future warns the teenager buying that
box that he will be the first person to get a Play Station VR. Then everyone will have it and they
become so plugged in that they won t notice an alien invasion. The kid then ignores the warning and
sees that his phone says he won the Play station VR headset and the man from the future leaves.
Whiles the future man s message was obviously supposed to be humorous and very unrealistic, it isn t
as crazy as one might think. In 1998, there was a book written by Neil Gabler called Life the Movie:

Many of these project the ideal body type. Many billboards or advertisements in magazines and
television show a women who has been heavily photo shopped. It says to try a certain fragrance, skin
cream, diet program, or other product to look like the person shown in the advertisement. This leads
women to have a negative self image of their body and do negative things to try to make themselves
look better like becoming anorexic, buying tons of different products that they see, getting surgery on
different parts of their bodies, or other methods that don t achieve their desired goal and sometimes
make them look worse. The truth is that the standard of beauty in those advertisements isn t
achievable, even by the person in the advertisement who was photo shopped. These pictures are photo
shopped due to the greediness for money of the producer on the product and it leads to women who
hate their body. Television commercials are another based thing because they aren t censored for the
audience watching. Besides channels that have all their shows for kids and have all shows with a
rating that is PG or lower, television shows can have any type of commercials. These commercials
include commercials for bears or sex boosting supplements like Viagra. It can show an advertisement
for another sow on the network that can involve violence, gore, sex, and death. Some shows are
supposed to be for all ages but are on channels that aren t specifically for kid, so they show
commercials that are mainly for adults. These commercials can scar kids and exposes them to life that
they may never have to experience and if they do, it won t be for a long time. Popular events on
television like the Presidential Debates, the Olympics, and the Super Bowl show these commercials
despite the executive producers of the network knowing that many kids are watching. On the internet,
advertisements are everywhere. When

The Incident Command System Essay
Emergency services face vast difficulties in the operations field when handling emergency situations,
whether it comes from handling a minor accident to a catastrophic catastrophy. Many of the
difficulties do not come from the actual incident, but instead they arise from forming a rescue team
containing different agencies and people. For the benefit off all individuals participating, it is
imperative that there be a unified command structure in place to effectively coordinate and oversee the
tasks that need to be accomplished. The need of a unified command was seen from the hardships faced
in incidents, bringing forth the development of the Incident Command System that was designed to be
used in an array of conditions, to bring all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Directly receiving directions from the Incident Commander as well as reporting to the Command Staff
are sections that oversee, plan, and assemble the necessary resources to carry out the Incident Action
Plan passed down from the Command Staff. The Operations Section is managed by the Operations
Section Chief who oversees all tactical operations at the incident. Deputies can then be appointed
underneath the Operations Section Chief to control different Branches of operations in order to keep
the span of control in scale. Ideally one individual should only control five other individuals on scene.
As resources grow, the span of control can be reduced through the implementation of Divisions and
Groups. Divisions can be used if the need arises to slit operations into geographical locations. This
allows for the Operations Section Chief to pass on vital information to crews in a specific location.
These divisions may simply be a quadrant of a structure, as well as a large area. It enables for all
Divisions to communicate and work together, even through the use of different methods. Groups can
then be implemented to further break down Divisions into smaller more manageable resources. In
each geographical location, the ability to control law

The Production Code Of Filmmakers In The 1930 s
The production code
Filmmakers especially excelled in the 1930 s because they became obsessed with the idea that they
could start breaking the rules and restrictions that society placed on them. They started to explore
controversial themes such as obscenity and the criminality of the human psyche (the human soul,
mind or spirit), both conscious, unconscious and in totality. However with this new material, and the
production of films like freaks , came critics. Groups of traditionalists like the Catholic church were
thrown into a sense of moral panic. They insisted that the studios should have a set of regulations to
stick by to avoid any obscenity or controversy being shown to the audience. The studios agreed to
having a list of guidelines ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The filmmakers then had to pledge their allegiance to Hayes production code and send all their
productions to William Hayes himself for a stamp of approval which allowed them to put their work
onto the screens. Nonetheless, after they promised to abide by these rules most filmmakers either
ignored the comments and changes they were given by Hayes or snuck in script rewrites before the
production of the film began. This then kick started the pre code era which occured over the next four
years. During this time the most abnormal and somewhat disturbing films were made in the horror
genre exploring major obscenity and in depth depiction of other controversial material. Filmmakers
essentially pushed the boundaries of Hayes production code as far as they possibly could to get their
innovative ideas across to their audiences. The people who had been promised censorship on such
material were not impressed. Especially the Catholic church who felt threatened by anyone who didn t
look, speak or believe like them. Then, in 1933 they formed the Legion of decency which boycotted
against any movies which promoted objectionable content. From then on, any film and motion picture
without Hayes seal of approval would have to

Pros And Cons Of The Njac
Advocates for the government and several states have argued that the NJAC would improve judicial
selection and the quality of the judiciary and that the NJAC does not violate the basic structure. In
defending the NJAC, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi argued that expanding the appointment process
to include a more formal role for the law minister, along with two eminent persons, would help lead to
a more diverse and representative judiciary that is more accountable to the people. Also, the
government argued that a switch to the NJAC would improve the quality and merit of judicial
appointments, going so far as to impugn the merit of specific appointments under the collegium.
Furthermore, senior advocate K.K. Venugopal, representing the state of Madhya Pradesh, argued that
the NJAC did not violate the basic structure, as Article 124 has drafted conferred primacy on the
executive, not the judiciary, in judicial appointments and that the Supreme Court had ... Show more

Radical interpretive exercises tread the thin line between judicial interpretation and legislative
amendment. Also, a equitably recent attempt at modifying the effect of a law (in which the provisions
for appointment of Information Commissioners under the Right to Information Act 2005 were recast)
came under severe criticism, following which the Supreme Court stepped back from its judgment in a
review petition.
Most importantly, some of the interpretive possibilities articulated here may have produced an
appointments process that closely resembles the existing collegium system. Thus, the NJAC could
become the collegium in disguise. If that would have happened, then, the Supreme Court would have
successfully struck down the amendment without being transparent about doing so.

Puzzle Person
Puzzle pieces are only bits of cardboard until someone comes along to connect them. Just like this,
one measly story would only scratch the surface, disclosing a mere peripheral view of my behavior at
one time. You must first examine the people who influenced my character to catch a glimpse of my
actual personality. Without every piece, how will you ever know what picture they will form?
My puzzle begins with my grandma, Nannie, who was diagnosed with cancer. She slowly lost her
personality and autonomy as the tumors grew, and became more of a stranger every day. This is not
another sob story though, it was actually a pivotal part of my life. I lost someone who meant the world
to me. There was no heads up, nor could my parents fix the problem this time, as my younger self was
accustomed. Instead, I stepped up and took care of my Mom, staying with her on those nights when
she just needed to vent her feelings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Five International Relations Theories, Realism,...
Three of the five international relations theories, Realism, Liberalism, and Feminism have very
interesting and different positions pertaining to global politics and issues. These theories, although
quite different, effect the past present and future of global politics. Realists tend to believe the worst in
humanity, that they are inherently selfish, and expect the worst. They are always prepared for war, and
will go on the offensive if it means gaining more power and respect. Liberals do not think people are
inherently selfish, but rather people are rational and moral. Liberals don t want war, but will join if
another state poses a threat, or has already attacked. The feminism theory does not pertain much to
that of Realism and Liberalism, but more on the education of society and how women could have a
positive impact on the government. This paper will cover these three theories, and go into detail on
how they affect the world and the states they are currently and previously acted in. Realism is a theory
that tries to explain the reasoning behind what people and the government do. According the Realists,
humans are inherently selfish, and will do whatever it takes to gain and keep their power. With that
being said, realists will also do what they can to gain and maintain national and international power. In
Theories of International Relations, Jack Donnelly states, The core or Realism lies in the conjunction
of anarchy and egoism and the resulting imperatives of power

The Effects Of Pregnancy On Your House
By week 36 you may want to clean your house and make sure that it is spic and span, awaiting your
little one. This phase of pregnancy is called the nesting stage, which is nature s way of making sure
you have time to be with your baby after delivery with no household chores holding you back. While
it is a natural tendency to want everything done, don t go overboard. Remember that you are in your
third trimester and need to take it easy. Changes happening to your body in week 36 Thanks to the
nesting instincts in you, all the exhaustion of the third trimester gets replaced completely by a renewed
sense of vigor. Here are the major physical changes happening to you in week 36: Getting into a
comfortable sleeping position becomes harder by the day. With only two sides to switch between, you
may find that your hips are aching from the pressure. Try cushy, comfortable pillows or a padded
blanket around and underneath you. They will cushion your hips, relieve the ache and help you fall
asleep faster. Most babies get into a head down position by now. When they do, you might discover
that the bathroom becomes your home. Do not reduce your water intake in the hopes of making fewer
bathroom trips. Try reducing the caffeine intake as coffee and tea are known to be diuretics. Walking
might get difficult if your baby moves into a cephalic presentation or head down position. It feels like
your baby will fall out if you move. It is just the pressure of your baby s head against the

Managerial Decision Making Is Not Only Influenced By An...
Thesis Statement: Managerial decision making is not only influenced by an individual s personality
but also by some social factors. What is decision making? Defining decision making is a hard task just
as it would be to define knowledge: it is a process we use on a daily basis, but when it comes to find a
way to describe how it works we encounter many obstacles. That is due to the fact that each one of us
has his/her unique decision making process, which is continuously built in time. Several academic
definition of decision making exist, depending on the kind of situation in which the decision takes
place. For a manager, the decision making is a core process, and unfortunately half of the decision
taken by management in an organization fail (Nutt, 1999), thus key importance has been given lately
in researching this field. A business related definition states that decision making is the thought
process of selecting a logical choice from the available options . This definition highlights that despite
the wish of giving to this process an objective and constant trait, both time and subjectiveness are
instead crucial. As a matter of fact, when a decision has to be made, even if it is a business decisions,
not only rationality comes into the picture: past experience, cognitive biases, age and individual
differences, belief in personal relevance, and an escalation of commitment, all influence what choices
people make (Dietrich, 2010). In other words, analyzing the above

There have been many awful accidents at sweatshops around the world but one of the worst incidents
involving a sweatshop was when the factory in Bangladesh collapsed in April 2013. Over 1000 people
were killed in this disaster with another 2500 being injured. There were over 3000 workers in the

There could be a law made so that if a company was buying from a factory that was below their
standards they could be fined. That could make businesses consider where they are buying from.
However the consequence of this idea is that the clothes in shops would be more expensive for
shoppers, although the price may not be much more than it would be not some shoppers might not be
happy about having to spend more money on clothes that they may only wear a few times. Another
solution to this problem would be for the company to pay the workers more for their products but still
keep the prices in stores the same. The company would lose some of their profits doing this but
shoppers would not have to pay more for their clothes and they would be helping to improve the lives
of thousands of workers. A study from 2002 by economist Robert Pollin shows that the price of
products being sold in shops would only have to be increased by 1.8% to double the worker s salary.
This shows that the prices in shops would not have to increase by a lot to change the lives of the
workers. This study also shows that the majority of people are willing to spend up to 15% more if the
know that the products that they are buying have came from a factory which has good working

Lou Gehrig Speech Analysis
English Composition 1301 26 May 2012 Lou Gehrig s Farewell Speech Analysis Imagine a young boy
and his father going to the New York Yankees ballpark on a warm sunny day. The date is July 4, 1939
and it is Lou Gehrig appreciation day at the ballpark. Lou Gehrig had been playing major league
baseball for seventeen years and is one of the most well thought of players in the game. When the boy
and his father arrive at the ballpark, Lou walks to a podium and begins to talk. Without any prior
warning, this icon begins to talk about a deadly disease that he has been contracted with and that he
must immediately retire from the game of baseball forever. The stadium sits silently and Lou

One would expect that a man with such a limited time left on this earth would be somber and sad.
Lou, however spends the entire speech articulating the blessings that he has had throughout his life. In
the second paragraph, Gehrig uses repetition and the phrase sure, I m lucky to express how blessed he
feels that he has had the opportunity to associate himself with certain men throughout his career. Lou
mentions several baseball icons such as Jacob Ruppert, Ed Barrow, and Joe McCarthy. He explains
that it would be the highlight of any career just to spend a day with these men, yet he has been lucky
enough to play with them throughout his career. In the third paragraph, Gehrig goes on to use
repetition again to show how blessed he believes that his life is. He uses the phrase that s something to
show that he considers himself lucky that he has a caring, loving family, that even rival teams respect
him enough to send him a gift, and that he has been given the talent to win trophies and earn respect.
He then ends the paragraph and the repetition by stating that having a wife that loves and supports her
husband is the finest I know . The conclusion to this astonishing speech is only one sentence. In one of
the greatest sentences in sports history, Lou remarks, So I close in saying that I may have had a bad
break, but I have an awful lot to live for. (Gehrig) This statement wiped

The Study Of The Theory Of International Relations
The study of international relations takes a vast spectrum of theoretical approaches. A theory of
international relations is a collection of concepts that delineate how the international system operates
(SparkNote on International Politics, 2010). Contrary to an ideology, a theory of international studies
is endorsed with solid evidence. This essay will focus on two dominant theories of International
Relations (IR), namely realism and liberalism to decide for this matter on the more pragmatic one for
the study of IR. According to realism, states work only to gain more power relative to that of other
states (Donelan: 1990:23). Liberalism matured in the 1970s as some scholars generated arguments that
realism was defunct. With the rise of globalization, the immediate increase in communications
technology, and the expansion of international trade meant that states could no longer be dependent on
complete power politics to resolve matters (Lawson, 2015:96). ... Show more content on

Liberalism is contrary to realism, in a sense that it places confidence in the amount of power through
state economies, the prospects of peace and cooperation, rights and notions of political freedoms
(Burchill et al, 2005: 80). This essay delineates the reasons why liberal theory would be the suitable
theory for the study of IR, the position of the theory today and lastly the three variants of

Impact Of Political And Economic Changes On American...
During the era of 1810 to 1850, many changes took place that shaped our government today. Some
political changes that took place include: the expanding of democracy, voting privileges, eligibility to
hold office requirements, a new constitution, method of choosing presidential electors, the rapid
growth of the electorate, political parties, nullification, the removal of governmental deposits, etc. An
economic change that shaped US government was mainly the industrial revolution. Cultural changes
can be seen in accordance with the political and economic changes, this is because the people had to
adapt to the new changes and it shaped their culture. Their cultural changes were mainly driven by
their wanted virtues of an artistic lifestyle (Brinkley, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The industrial revolution came about because of many variables: progresses in transportation and
communications, the development of manufacturing innovation, the advancement of new frameworks
of business association, and maybe most importantly, increases in population development. As far as
population trends, America became more populous as the years went by. The population was about 4
million in 1790. By 1820, it had reached 10 million and 17 million by 1840. New developments in
public health played an important role in the population growth. (Brinkley, 222) Railroads were a very
efficient way of transportation. They got people and supplies to places faster than in previous times.
The telegraph improved communication. Before the telegraph, communication over long distances
could only happen in person. Without the railroads, the telegraph would not work because the wires of
the telegraph ran along the railroad tracks and the telegraph offices were usually located in the railroad
stations. (Brinkley,

Overpopulation Crisis
There are several contributing factors to the overpopulation crisis, however, with changes these factors
could also be part of the solution. A few of these factors are discussed in an interview with Melanie
Asriel, the Psychological Sciences Instructor at WKU of Glasgow, Kentucky. According to Melanie
Asriel, The lack of family planning and contraceptive use has contributed to this
problem...contraception, education, and the including of available abortion...all kinds of education,
such as, sex education, contraceptive education... would be my solution to an over population problem
(M. Asriel, personal communication, 04 October 2017). Melanie Asriel views a overpopulation

This data provides evidence that a rapidly growing population will lead to conflict. The REL4 solution
will alleviate the overpopulation problem by addressing the need for contraceptives and limiting all
consenting adults to four children. The United States Census Bureau website population clock stood at
7,424,919,320 as of 13:38 CT, 01 October 2017. In fifteen days the world s population has grown by
3,372,370. The world can no longer continue to rapidly multiply, because it is out of land and food.
For the REL4 solution to work education from public and private educators, public health
organizations, and corporation from a governmental licensing agencies will be needed. Public health
organizations such as health departments or primary care physicians will provide step one in REL4.
The first step, Reproductive Education (RE) is in depth sex education and use of contraceptives, which
will be given to all children when puberty is reached. This education will be optional and only given
with written consent from the parents. However, there are stipulations associated with denial of the
education, such as fines if the child has an unplanned pregnancy. A governmental licensing agency
will provide the second step, which will be when two consenting adults are ready to conceive a child.
This step in the solution is a licensing process that is required in order to have a child.

Camera Angles In A Few Good Men
In the movie, A Few Good Men by Rob Reiner, we can feel the change in we have the characters
throughout the movie. In the movie we meet Lieutenant Kaffee as he works with other JAG officers to
help him prove that two Marines were innocent of planning and acting out a murder on their own
accord but that they were ordered to do a Code Red from a higher ranking officer, even though he is
known for making plea bargains and only winning one case. We can tell this especially well in the
camera angles. With the different camera angles happening throughout the movie we can see the
transition of dominance or superiority from one character that the words and actions would support.
To start with, the movie starts out with us seeing the moment that the two Marines, ... Show more

After some talk, and Kaffee getting drunk, they decide to bring up Colonel Jessup. This marked the
change of power and superiority for most of the characters, especially Kaffee and Jessup, as the
camera angle changed around. Kaffee calls him onto the stand and we start with him still being viewed
from a high angle, making him appear in charge still and in complete control. As we move through
this scene, however, Kaffee starts to get a lower angle than him and we actually see the Colonel from a
high angle as Kaffee and beating down on him with questions, trying to aggravate him. After some
time we seem the Colonel give in to his own pride and tell the court that he did order the Code Red.
This causes him to get arrested and he we see again Kaffee seem higher and the Col Lower, with the

Neil Postman
Throughout the span of the past few weeks I have traversed the globe, visiting several countries and
regions, only to realize that although new methods develop, language as a way of expressing ones self
has remained the most effective. Despite this fact, language still has its pitfalls. Neil Postman, in his
essay #8220;Defending Against the Indefensible, #8221; outlines seven concepts that can be used to
aid a student in better understanding the language as a means of communication. He describes how
modern teaching methods leave a student vulnerable to the #8220;prejudices of their elders #8221;,
further stating that a good teacher must always be skeptical. He urges teachers of all subjects to break
free from traditional teachings as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Postman argues that if a student were to see hidden meaning in a word, then they could use it to their
defense. It is my belief that Postman may be correct now, what about in the future. If attention were
turned to smaller words, then surely our vocabulary will diminish, and the same thing that happened to
words such as true, and false, will happen to words such as semantic, and pedagogical. Vocabulary
tests should be left as they are. If a student wishes to study words of everyday use, read a book, or
watch television. The next principle was thought provoking as well. The use of a metaphor as a tool in
education is rarely used, as Postman notes. #8220;Unless our students are aware of how metaphors
shape arguments, organize perceptions, and control feelings, their understanding is severely limited.
Postman displays how most political speeches are laced with metaphors, and how teacher #8217;s
methods are shaped by a metaphor. A student who doesn #8217;t understand a metaphor, or when it is
being applied tends to have a more closed outlook. A metaphor, used as a communication skill, is best
described in a political way. Think of Reagan #8217;s Voodoo economics, or Bill Clinton building a
bridge to the 21st century. Politicians can easily scam an ignorant voter, should one not understand a
metaphor. For example: Clinton refers to building a bridge, but does not tell us with which tools he

Citysoft Case Essay
ACC503 CitySoft Case Analysis
1. Should we be concerned that CitySoft is focusing on cost, operational control, systems, and quality
at the expense of growth?
Answer: We don t need to be concerned about this issue too much. Actually CitySoft has been
growing fast since 1998 to 1999, and it is the time to focus more on its cost, operational control and
systems in order to improve CitySoft s profitability in the future. Refining the process of operation and
cost management is quite necessary for CitySoft at this point, because if it kept expanding without
improving its cost, operational control and system management, it would make little profit according
to the huge cash flow. We can see clearly that CitySoft has already invested much ... Show more

If a good cost measurement system was set up, cost plus contracts will demonstrate the advantages of
cost management better than fixed price contracts do. With a robust cost measurement system,
managers are able to know the real revenue drivers, to recognize the most valuable customers, and to
offer more reasonable price bid. That is to say, cost measurement system s strength lies in
differentiating clients value, projects value and operation processes value case by case. Under this
circumstance, cost plus contracts would surely dig more utilization and benefit more from such a
system, because CitySoft would be able to charge different customers and projects for different prices,
which is critical for increasing profitability. 5. What reports will CitySoft need to make those one time
decisions and decisions it will have to make on an on going basis (in Question #2)? Who should
prepare those reports, who should have access to these reports, and how frequently should they be
prepared?
Reports need to make | Report | Prepared by | Access permit | Frequency | One time decisions
One time decisions | Expansion or Management Improvement | Finance Operation Business
Development managers | Managers | Once | | Fixed Fee Contract or Cost Plus Contract | Operation
Finance department managers | All employees | Once | On going based decisions

Middle Childhood Observation Essay
For my middle childhood observation I chose a 10 year old female by the name of Mycah Landry. Just
to give you a bit of a background, Mycah attends a magnet school and makes straight A s. She is a
very smart young girl. We will start off by comparing Mycah s physical development to that of Berger
s in the text. As documented in the text Unlike infants or adolescents, school age children s growth is
slow and steady. Self care is easy from brushing their new adult teeth to dressing themselves, from
making their own lunch to walking to school. In these middle years, children depend less on their
families and do not yet need to cope with the body changes and impulses of adolescence. Muscles
become steadily stronger. From my observation I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Children apply their new reasoning skills to concrete situations that is, situations with visible, tangible,
real things. Children become more systemic, objective, scientific and educable. One logical concept is
classification, the organization of things into groups according to some characteristics that they share.
An experiment that Piaget conducted to reveal a children s understanding of classification is, and
examiner shows a child a bunch of nine flowers seven yellow daises and two white roses. The
examiner makes sure the child knows the words flowers, daises, and roses. Then comes the crucial:
Are there more daises or more flowers? I conducted the same experiment with Mycah and she
answered there are more flowers. So it is to my findings that Mycah has a clear understanding of
classification. Lastly I will be comparing Mycah s psychosocial development to that of Berger s
accounts. As explained in the text, steady growth, brain maturation, and intellectual advances make
middle childhood a time when children gain independence and autonomy. They acquire an increasing
ability to regulate themselves, to take responsibility, and to exercise self control all strengths that make
this a period of positive growth. As I stated earlier in my observation report I observed Mycah as
being very independent, and capable of taking responsibility for things. There is also a portion of the
text where Berger discusses friendship and social acceptance. I sat

Character Analysis Of James Watson In The Novel The Double...
James Watson James Watson is both the narrator and author of the novel The Double Helix. The
reader begins to understand this character by the actions and ways this character is treated. He is at the
time 19 years old and graduated from the University of Chicago. James Watson is a character the
reader can relate to with events such as James not just focusing on science, but enjoying parties and
meeting the girls at Cambridge University. He is portrayed as a very determined scientist as he
throughout the novel. He shows this when he studies RNA, bacterial sextuality and most importantly
DNA. He dreamed of achieving scientific glory through genetics and microbiology. Watson uses most
of his time working and struggling with Francis Crick to create a DNA model. Him and Crick work
well together even through some road blocks and bumps. Along the way Watson also works with
Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin. Rosalind Franklin provides conflict because she has difficulty
at first working and getting along with the others. This group of scientist navigates a new world of
discoveries as they race other scientists to the DNA structure. They are motivated by this competition
and they use the mistakes of the other scientist to their advantage. For example when they get hold of
a draft of Pauling s most recent breakthrough on DNA. They are shocked and disappointed to find out
it looks as though he has cracked it, however it turns out he has made some very noticeable mistakes.

Separation Of Powers Dbq
The U.S constitution guards against tyranny through the separations of powers. This claim is true
because the constitution was made in order to avert another tyrannical form of government from ever
taking place again through the allocation of governmental powers. An example of the division of
powers is seen in the Federalist #51 as the document states, ... the power surrendered by the people is
first divided between two distinct governments, the portion allotted to each subdivided among distinct
and separate departments (Doc. A). These direct words from the Federalist #51 basically state that the
power of the government which is given by the people is divided into national and state powers and
then furthermore divided into smaller sub powers.

The Social Action Theory and Symbolic Interactionism Essay
The Social Action Theory and Symbolic Interactionism Max Weber believed that individuals were the
key to society. He developed social action theory, the purpose of which was to find out why
individuals function in certain ways. He thought that every social action performed by an individual
had a meaning attached to it. Social actions are the result of conscious thought processes that take into
consideration the reactions of other individuals. Weber identified four types of social action which
include, reason (an instrumentally rational or calculated action), value or rational action (determined
by belief), emotion or effectual action (dependent upon the feelings of the individual), and traditional

These properties could be exchanged for money in the economic market he was of the opinion that
this position in the economic market place determined class position so that in theory there would be
as many class positions as economic positions. Therefore the class structure of society is essentially an
occupation structure. Social action theory recognises other divisions apart from simply class and also
recognises that consumption of goods (by which status groups are stratified) is just as important as the
production (by which class is stratified). It also draws attention to the importance of the individual and
their conscious actions. It does not however place enough emphasis on class divisions, as it tends to
concentrate more on status. Symbolic interactionists reject structure and believe that to study society,
the only way to do so is to concentrate on the individual. Both theories believe in understanding the
individual through the use of empathy. George Herbert Mead was mainly concerned with the
importance of language. Language distinguishes humans from animals and allows us to be aware of
our individuality. The use of symbols is a key element of language. They are used to give meanings to
particular events or objects and are learned by socialisation. Humans make them to assist them to

Persuasive Essay On Decriminalizing All Drugs
We all have an interest in making sure teens grow up healthy and drug free. John Walters Would you
like to live in a safer, drug free community? I do and here is how to start: by decriminalizing all drugs!
Since Richard Nixon coined the phrase War on Drugs in 1971, America has failed miserably to reduce
the consumption and traffic of illicit drugs from outside our borders. Although a heavy portion are
against decriminalizing drugs because of short term consequences and health concerns in public
communities, Portugal s evident sixteen year experience with drug decriminalization has proven
otherwise with significant, long term positive outcomes. However, due to the long lasting and
persuasive positive outcomes of decriminalization, it is vital that the U.S. strongly reconsiders the
prohibition of all drugs for the health and economic benefit of our communities. Obviously, there will
be short term consequences but also benefits too. Unfortunately, the hype of decriminalizing drugs
will cause an increase in the number of users but it is important to note that a considerable amount of
those being newly documented are closet junkies finally being revealed. As Dr. Caitlin Hughes, a
member of the Drug Policy Modelling Program of the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre
puts it, Portuguese decriminalization did not lead to major increases in drug use. Indeed, evidence
indicates reductions in problematic use, drug related harms and criminal justice overcrowding
(Hughes; Stevens). As this research shows, the predictions on Portugal s well being after the
decriminalization of all drugs were incorrect and the complete opposite occurred creating healthy and
safer communities because of awareness. Bringing our attention back to the increasing number of
users within the hype years, public safety is a large concern where communities will have a difficult
time adapting to the new policy and becoming accustomed to a new culture and lifestyle. On the
contrary, I find a few years of craziness to be minimal in comparison to the long term achievement
that this law intends to achieve. Portugal has proved that decriminalization reduces drug use, drug
related harms, and criminal justice overcrowding. João Goulão,

behaviors, they frequently co occur, so it s important to look at factors that might contribute to the
transition from NSSI to suicide. The studies that she focused on were with non ideators, that is,

Adolescents with bipolar disorder are not as likely to control their obesity and they are three times
more likely to attempt suicide or have major depressive disorder than those who do not have BD. In
her article, Knopf referenced a study that the National Comorbidity Survey provided: they surveyed
adolescents from ages 13 to 17. 295 of them had BD, 1,112 had major depressive disorder (MDD),
and 8,716 who had neither. According to the results of the research, there were no significant
differences in overweight or obesity: obesity was about 17% in all of the groups that they had
surveyed. Although the obesity rate was about the same in all groups, adolescents who had BD and
overweight had a notably higher likelihood of attempting suicide, being a victim of sexual abuse,
binge eating, and conduct disorder. Currently, the link between BD, overweight, and suicide is
unknown. Fortunately, the researcher concluded that an early intervention with adolescents with BD
and obesity might improve the future mental and physical health of the adolescents. Knowing and
applying this would help youth workers in preventing suicide: they should recommend intervention to
parents who have adolescents with these disorder. They could also teach parents to be aware of the
medications that their teens are taking. Teenagers with BD and obesity should be taking medications
with lower propensity for weight gain. Additionally, they could

Alexander The Great Greek Crusader
Alexander the Great embarked from Greece in 334 BC never to return to his homeland. He established
an empire which not only spanned Europe and Asia but also united them. The extent to which
Alexander s life agrees with the statement is dependent on the definitions of a Greek Crusader and
Persian King . The Greeks (except Sparta) had abolished their kingdoms and replaced them with the
democratic city states. Consequently, the concept of kings and what it meant to be Greek had become
estranged with the result that Alexander may not have been able to embody this Greek culture as the
King of Macedon. The definition of Crusader poses an issue; in hindsight its medieval connotations do
not appear to be appropriate but the role Greek Crusader can be defined in this context as a pursuer of
vengeance against the Persian sacrilege or as an advocator of Greek culture and religion through the
use of force. The term Persian King could not only be interpreted to resemble their style of rule but
also their customs and the favouring of the Asiatic peoples. The evolution of these roles in both the
way they were viewed and the way they developed is essential in understanding how accurate the
statement is. First of all, we must assess the extent to which Alexander was Greek. Alexander could
trace his ancestry through his mother to both Helen of Troy and Achilles, relatives who would inspire
his later actions. From a young age he was influenced by Hellenic culture; under the reign

Most people would seriously question on why so many people throughout the world live in the
immediate vicinity of a volcano, and although we can only see the downside of that, there are benefits
from living so close to a volcano. One of the biggest reasons are the soils close to a volcano is full of
nutrients and minerals which keep the soil very fertile. This happens because of all of the lava and

  • 4. Analysis Of Mark Twain s Huckleberry Finn INTRODUCTION Out of the four gospels, Mark s gospel seems to be the one most focused on Jesus s miracles. This paper will be looking at the purpose and meaning of these miracles. First, what is a miracle? A miracle is, a special act of God that interrupts the natural course of events. There are three different kinds of miracles that Jesus does: exorcisms, nature miracles, and healings. Just as there are three kinds of miracles, there seem to be three different purposes for His miracles. These are to attract people, to prove Jesus was the Messiah, and to show God s characteristics. Before one can discuss the purpose and meaning of His account of Jesus miracles, it is important to define what Mark s goal was with writing this Gospel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... MIRACLES IN ANCIENT HISTORY Greek and ancient Near Eastern societies understood the occurrences of miraculous events as evidence of spiritual beings and the divine participating in earthly affairs. Typical Greek and ancient Near Eastern cosmologies reserved an essential role for deities and spiritual beings within the natural order of the world. Although miraculous events were extraordinary, they were not considered contraindications to the natural order. Common miraculous events that occurred in ancient society included: healings, oracles, celestial portents, extraordinary natural events (eg. earthquakes). The distinction between miracle and magic derives from the observer s perspective, which can involve numerous factors, including; group membership; historical context; cultural context; and theological views. In the fifth and fourth centuries bc, many Greeks and Romans came to suspect traditional healers, diviners, prophets, and wonder workers of being magicians . In the Roman imperial period, Christ followers recognized wonders performed by or through God as miracles and commonly characterized all other wonders as magic performed by or through the devil. Stratton refers to this as the Christian magic discourse (e.g., Acts 8:9 15; 13:6 12; Stratton Naming the Witch, 107 41; see also Remus, Pagan Christian Conflict, 48 82; Lampe, Miracles and Apologetic, 205 18). ... • 5. How Does Vonnegut Use Satire In The Space Race I choose the Space Race for my historical topic and I believe that it connects to Harrison Bergeron because the short story shows how fast we are developing in technology. The fact that Vonnegut thought of this in 1961 is amazing. Vonnegut uses satire in the piece by emphasizing the fact of just because we can doesn t mean we should, making everyone equal would be possible but we shouldn t do it. With the Space Race at the time it shows how we are developing at a fast pace and the short story shows that if everyone was equal advancements would stop without the smart minds in the world we would go nowhere. (Pritchard) The knowledge of God the Trinity is the center of the Christian faith. Yet many believers have got confused in understanding the true natures of the personalities and relationships of each person in God the Trinity. Endless questions continuously appear, again and again, giving Christians a sense of extremely misty confusion towards the magnificent attributes of every person in the Trinity. Early saints or early Christian teachers, have been discussing the Trinity deeply and deliberately for decades, as it is one of the most complex teachings written in the Bible. One of the most reliable doctrines of the Trinity is The Holy Trinity Doctrine. The Holy Trinity Doctrine was one of the doctrines created during the first few ages where Christianity just started developing. This doctrine was created in the Council of Nicea in 325 AD. During this discussion, diverse points were given by theologists. Thoughts named as Tritheism, Unitarism, and Arianism are present. Tritheism focuses that there are three separate Gods, promoting polytheism, Unitarism focuses on God the Father most, and separates Christ and the Holy Spirit into a different category of deity, thus changing their divinity, and Arianism promotes Jesus Christ as a creation of God during the Creation. This leads women to have a negative self image of their body and do negative things to try to make themselves look better like becoming anorexic, buying tons of different products that they see, getting surgery on different parts of their bodies, or other methods that don t achieve their desired goal and sometimes make them look worse. The truth is that the standard of beauty in those advertisements isn t achievable, even by the person in the advertisement who was photo shopped. The Production Code Of Filmmakers In The 1930 s The production code Filmmakers especially excelled in the 1930 s because they became obsessed with the idea that they could start breaking the rules and restrictions that society placed on them. They started to explore controversial themes such as obscenity and the criminality of the human psyche (the human soul, mind or spirit), both conscious, unconscious and in totality. However with this new material, and the production of films like freaks , came critics. Groups of traditionalists like the Catholic church were thrown into a sense of moral panic. They insisted that the studios should have a set of regulations to stick by to avoid any obscenity or controversy being shown to the audience. The studios agreed to having a list of guidelines ... The filmmakers then had to pledge their allegiance to Hayes production code and send all their productions to William Hayes himself for a stamp of approval which allowed them to put their work onto the screens. Nonetheless, after they promised to abide by these rules most filmmakers either ignored the comments and changes they were given by Hayes or snuck in script rewrites before the production of the film began. This then kick started the pre code era which occured over the next four years. During this time the most abnormal and somewhat disturbing films were made in the horror genre exploring major obscenity and in depth depiction of other controversial material. Filmmakers essentially pushed the boundaries of Hayes production code as far as they possibly could to get their innovative ideas across to their audiences. The people who had been promised censorship on such material were not impressed. Especially the Catholic church who felt threatened by anyone who didn t look, speak or believe like them. Then, in 1933 they formed the Legion of decency which boycotted against any movies which promoted objectionable content. Pros And Cons Of The Njac Advocates for the government and several states have argued that the NJAC would improve judicial selection and the quality of the judiciary and that the NJAC does not violate the basic structure. In defending the NJAC, Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi argued that expanding the appointment process to include a more formal role for the law minister, along with two eminent persons, would help lead to a more diverse and representative judiciary that is more accountable to the people. Also, the government argued that a switch to the NJAC would improve the quality and merit of judicial appointments, going so far as to impugn the merit of specific appointments under the collegium. Furthermore, senior advocate K.K. Venugopal, representing the state of Madhya Pradesh, argued that the NJAC did not violate the basic structure, as Article 124 has drafted conferred primacy on the executive, not the judiciary, in judicial appointments and that the Supreme Court had ... Also, a equitably recent attempt at modifying the effect of a law (in which the provisions for appointment of Information Commissioners under the Right to Information Act 2005 were recast) came under severe criticism, following which the Supreme Court stepped back from its judgment in a review petition. Most importantly, some of the interpretive possibilities articulated here may have produced an appointments process that closely resembles the existing collegium system. Thus, the NJAC could become the collegium in disguise. If that would have happened, then, the Supreme Court would have successfully struck down the amendment without being transparent about doing so. • 13. The Five International Relations Theories, Realism,... Three of the five international relations theories, Realism, Liberalism, and Feminism have very interesting and different positions pertaining to global politics and issues. These theories, although quite different, effect the past present and future of global politics. Realists tend to believe the worst in humanity, that they are inherently selfish, and expect the worst. They are always prepared for war, and will go on the offensive if it means gaining more power and respect. Liberals do not think people are inherently selfish, but rather people are rational and moral. Liberals don t want war, but will join if another state poses a threat, or has already attacked. The feminism theory does not pertain much to that of Realism and Liberalism, but more on the education of society and how women could have a positive impact on the government. This paper will cover these three theories, and go into detail on how they affect the world and the states they are currently and previously acted in. Realism is a theory that tries to explain the reasoning behind what people and the government do. According the Realists, humans are inherently selfish, and will do whatever it takes to gain and keep their power. With that being said, realists will also do what they can to gain and maintain national and international power. In Theories of International Relations, Jack Donnelly states, The core or Realism lies in the conjunction of anarchy and egoism and the resulting imperatives of power ... • 19. Managerial Decision Making Is Not Only Influenced By An... Thesis Statement: Managerial decision making is not only influenced by an individual s personality but also by some social factors. What is decision making? Defining decision making is a hard task just as it would be to define knowledge: it is a process we use on a daily basis, but when it comes to find a way to describe how it works we encounter many obstacles. That is due to the fact that each one of us has his/her unique decision making process, which is continuously built in time. Several academic definition of decision making exist, depending on the kind of situation in which the decision takes place. For a manager, the decision making is a core process, and unfortunately half of the decision taken by management in an organization fail (Nutt, 1999), thus key importance has been given lately in researching this field. A business related definition states that decision making is the thought process of selecting a logical choice from the available options . This definition highlights that despite the wish of giving to this process an objective and constant trait, both time and subjectiveness are instead crucial. As a matter of fact, when a decision has to be made, even if it is a business decisions, not only rationality comes into the picture: past experience, cognitive biases, age and individual differences, belief in personal relevance, and an escalation of commitment, all influence what choices people make (Dietrich, 2010). A theory of international relations is a collection of concepts that delineate how the international system operates (SparkNote on International Politics, 2010). According to realism, states work only to gain more power relative to that of other states (Donelan: 1990:23). Liberalism matured in the 1970s as some scholars generated arguments that realism was defunct. Postman argues that if a student were to see hidden meaning in a word, then they could use it to their defense. It is my belief that Postman may be correct now, what about in the future. If attention were turned to smaller words, then surely our vocabulary will diminish, and the same thing that happened to words such as true, and false, will happen to words such as semantic, and pedagogical. Vocabulary tests should be left as they are. If a student wishes to study words of everyday use, read a book, or watch television. The next principle was thought provoking as well. The use of a metaphor as a tool in education is rarely used, as Postman notes. #8220;Unless our students are aware of how metaphors shape arguments, organize perceptions, and control feelings, their understanding is severely limited. Self care is easy from brushing their new adult teeth to dressing themselves, from making their own lunch to walking to school. In these middle years, children depend less on their families and do not yet need to cope with the body changes and impulses of adolescence. Muscles become steadily stronger. From my observation I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children apply their new reasoning skills to concrete situations that is, situations with visible, tangible, real things. An experiment that Piaget conducted to reveal a children s understanding of classification is, and examiner shows a child a bunch of nine flowers seven yellow daises and two white roses. The examiner makes sure the child knows the words flowers, daises, and roses. Then comes the crucial: Are there more daises or more flowers? I conducted the same experiment with Mycah and she answered there are more flowers. So it is to my findings that Mycah has a clear understanding of classification. Lastly I will be comparing Mycah s psychosocial development to that of Berger s accounts. As explained in the text, steady growth, brain maturation, and intellectual advances make middle childhood a time when children gain independence and autonomy. They acquire an increasing ability to regulate themselves, to take responsibility, and to exercise self control all strengths that make this a period of positive growth. As I stated earlier in my observation report I observed Mycah as being very independent, and capable of taking responsibility for things. There is also a portion of the text where Berger discusses friendship and social acceptance. I sat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Character Analysis Of James Watson In The Novel The Double... James Watson James Watson is both the narrator and author of the novel The Double Helix. The reader begins to understand this character by the actions and ways this character is treated. He is at the time 19 years old and graduated from the University of Chicago. James Watson is a character the reader can relate to with events such as James not just focusing on science, but enjoying parties and meeting the girls at Cambridge University. He is portrayed as a very determined scientist as he throughout the novel. He shows this when he studies RNA, bacterial sextuality and most importantly DNA. He dreamed of achieving scientific glory through genetics and microbiology. Watson uses most of his time working and struggling with Francis Crick to create a DNA model. Him and Crick work well together even through some road blocks and bumps. Along the way Watson also works with Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin. Rosalind Franklin provides conflict because she has difficulty at first working and getting along with the others. This group of scientist navigates a new world of discoveries as they race other scientists to the DNA structure. They are motivated by this competition and they use the mistakes of the other scientist to their advantage. For example when they get hold of a draft of Pauling s most recent breakthrough on DNA. They are shocked and disappointed to find out it looks as though he has cracked it, however it turns out he has made some very noticeable mistakes. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Separation Of Powers Dbq The U.S constitution guards against tyranny through the separations of powers. This claim is true because the constitution was made in order to avert another tyrannical form of government from ever taking place again through the allocation of governmental powers. An example of the division of powers is seen in the Federalist #51 as the document states, ... the power surrendered by the people is first divided between two distinct governments, the portion allotted to each subdivided among distinct and separate departments (Doc. A). These direct words from the Federalist #51 basically state that the power of the government which is given by the people is divided into national and state powers and then furthermore divided into smaller sub powers. ... • 34. The Social Action Theory and Symbolic Interactionism Essay The Social Action Theory and Symbolic Interactionism Max Weber believed that individuals were the key to society. He developed social action theory, the purpose of which was to find out why individuals function in certain ways. He thought that every social action performed by an individual had a meaning attached to it. Social actions are the result of conscious thought processes that take into consideration the reactions of other individuals. Weber identified four types of social action which include, reason (an instrumentally rational or calculated action), value or rational action (determined by belief), emotion or effectual action (dependent upon the feelings of the individual), and traditional ... These properties could be exchanged for money in the economic market he was of the opinion that this position in the economic market place determined class position so that in theory there would be as many class positions as economic positions. Therefore the class structure of society is essentially an occupation structure. Social action theory recognises other divisions apart from simply class and also recognises that consumption of goods (by which status groups are stratified) is just as important as the production (by which class is stratified). It also draws attention to the importance of the individual and their conscious actions. It does not however place enough emphasis on class divisions, as it tends to concentrate more on status. Symbolic interactionists reject structure and believe that to study society, the only way to do so is to concentrate on the individual. Both theories believe in understanding the individual through the use of empathy. George Herbert Mead was mainly concerned with the importance of language. Language distinguishes humans from animals and allows us to be aware of our individuality. The use of symbols is a key element of language. They are used to give meanings to particular events or objects and are learned by socialisation. Humans make them to assist them to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Persuasive Essay On Decriminalizing All Drugs We all have an interest in making sure teens grow up healthy and drug free. John Walters Would you like to live in a safer, drug free community? I do and here is how to start: by decriminalizing all drugs! Since Richard Nixon coined the phrase War on Drugs in 1971, America has failed miserably to reduce the consumption and traffic of illicit drugs from outside our borders. Although a heavy portion are against decriminalizing drugs because of short term consequences and health concerns in public communities, Portugal s evident sixteen year experience with drug decriminalization has proven otherwise with significant, long term positive outcomes. However, due to the long lasting and persuasive positive outcomes of decriminalization, it is vital that the U.S. strongly reconsiders the prohibition of all drugs for the health and economic benefit of our communities. Obviously, there will be short term consequences but also benefits too. Unfortunately, the hype of decriminalizing drugs will cause an increase in the number of users but it is important to note that a considerable amount of those being newly documented are closet junkies finally being revealed. As Dr. Caitlin Hughes, a member of the Drug Policy Modelling Program of the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre puts it, Portuguese decriminalization did not lead to major increases in drug use. Indeed, evidence indicates reductions in problematic use, drug related harms and criminal justice overcrowding (Hughes; Stevens). As this research shows, the predictions on Portugal s well being after the decriminalization of all drugs were incorrect and the complete opposite occurred creating healthy and safer communities because of awareness. Bringing our attention back to the increasing number of users within the hype years, public safety is a large concern where communities will have a difficult time adapting to the new policy and becoming accustomed to a new culture and lifestyle. On the contrary, I find a few years of craziness to be minimal in comparison to the long term achievement that this law intends to achieve. Portugal has proved that decriminalization reduces drug use, drug related harms, and criminal justice overcrowding. João Goulão, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Knopf Continued Writing Concerning Suicide In Regards To Knopf continued writing concerning suicide in regards to adolescents in an article entitled How Self Injury can lead to Suicidality in Teens: Under Study. Her article focused on the relationship between self injury and suicide. She stated, While NSSI [nonsuicidal self injury] and suicide are distinct behaviors, they frequently co occur, so it s important to look at factors that might contribute to the transition from NSSI to suicide. The studies that she focused on were with non ideators, that is, adolescents with no current suicide ideation and have not attempted suicide in their lifetimes; suicide ideators, adolescents who currently contemplated suicide but never attempted suicide; and, suicide attempters, those who currently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adolescents with bipolar disorder are not as likely to control their obesity and they are three times more likely to attempt suicide or have major depressive disorder than those who do not have BD. In her article, Knopf referenced a study that the National Comorbidity Survey provided: they surveyed adolescents from ages 13 to 17. 295 of them had BD, 1,112 had major depressive disorder (MDD), and 8,716 who had neither. According to the results of the research, there were no significant differences in overweight or obesity: obesity was about 17% in all of the groups that they had surveyed. Although the obesity rate was about the same in all groups, adolescents who had BD and overweight had a notably higher likelihood of attempting suicide, being a victim of sexual abuse, binge eating, and conduct disorder. Currently, the link between BD, overweight, and suicide is unknown. Fortunately, the researcher concluded that an early intervention with adolescents with BD and obesity might improve the future mental and physical health of the adolescents. Knowing and applying this would help youth workers in preventing suicide: they should recommend intervention to parents who have adolescents with these disorder. They could also teach parents to be aware of the medications that their teens are taking. Teenagers with BD and obesity should be taking medications with lower propensity for weight gain. Additionally, they could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Alexander The Great Greek Crusader Alexander the Great embarked from Greece in 334 BC never to return to his homeland. He established an empire which not only spanned Europe and Asia but also united them. The extent to which Alexander s life agrees with the statement is dependent on the definitions of a Greek Crusader and Persian King . The Greeks (except Sparta) had abolished their kingdoms and replaced them with the democratic city states. Consequently, the concept of kings and what it meant to be Greek had become estranged with the result that Alexander may not have been able to embody this Greek culture as the King of Macedon. The definition of Crusader poses an issue; in hindsight its medieval connotations do not appear to be appropriate but the role Greek Crusader can be defined in this context as a pursuer of vengeance against the Persian sacrilege or as an advocator of Greek culture and religion through the use of force. The term Persian King could not only be interpreted to resemble their style of rule but also their customs and the favouring of the Asiatic peoples. The evolution of these roles in both the way they were viewed and the way they developed is essential in understanding how accurate the statement is. First of all, we must assess the extent to which Alexander was Greek. Alexander could trace his ancestry through his mother to both Helen of Troy and Achilles, relatives who would inspire his later actions. From a young age he was influenced by Hellenic culture; under the reign ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Calbuco is a 6,570 foot high active stratovolcano located in Los Lagos, Chile. Its coordinates are 41°19′48″S 72°37′06″W. The last time that the Calbuco volcano erupted was April 22, 2015 and actually erupted for a second time 7 hours later on that same day. Before that, the volcano hadn t erupted since 1972. Both of the eruptions were about the same, releasing lava into the air and a mushroom cloud of ash 49,000 feet into the sky. Lighting also occurred, making it a frightening but beautiful sight to see in the night sky. Just before the Calbulco volcano erupted, they called for an evacuation and nearly 1,500 people were evacuated from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the background we see a volcano on top of a mountain, with the tops covered in snow. The key element of this photograph is the huge volcano located in the background. This photograph brings us to the Calbuco volcano on a sunny day. This volcano is located in Los Lagos, Chile. Most people would seriously question on why so many people throughout the world live in the immediate vicinity of a volcano, and although we can only see the downside of that, there are benefits from living so close to a volcano. One of the biggest reasons are the soils close to a volcano is full of nutrients and minerals which keep the soil very fertile. This happens because of all of the lava and rock that a volcano releases. This helps soil stay rich with nutrients and gives opportunities to grow fruit, rice or other ...
