Bilingual Education to ban or not to ban?
When we speak about this country The United States of America we automatically
think of the great number of languages people speak in this country. Take California
as an example. It is one of the border states of America, and this state is made up
mostly of immigrants. As a result, most people in this state are either bilingual or
even trilingual. In order for the immigrant students to become integrated into this
country, they must learn English, and Bilingual Education can help them assimilate
faster to this new country. Nevertheless, people continue to vote against and ban
Bilingual Education because they believe that if the student is here in America, he or
she should be treated the same as the native speakers in order to save money and for
him or her to better fit in. Even though many people criticize bilingual education, I
personally am one of the supportive fans of it because Bilingual Education allows
new immigrant students to learn English at a reasonable pace, assimilate to a new
environment, maintain their academic specialties, and not to fall behind.
What is Bilingual Education? The term refers to the practice of teaching non English
speaking children in their native language, and was developed in the 1960 s; these
programs were intended to allow students to progress in science, math and social
studies while they learned English in a separate class.

What Is The Character Of Paraclete In The Pilgrim s
Progress
Throughout Christian s journey in The Pilgrim s Progress, he encounters many
dilemmas which often throw him off the path to the Celestial city. However,
whenever someone is with him or aids him, he prevails and acquires more and more
wisdom. If he has a constant guide or companion in his journey, it will be less
probable for Christian to stumble or get lost. John Bunyanshould incorporate the
character Paraclete into his book, The Pilgrim s Progress, because he will provide
help in times of trouble, he will encourage Christian to overcome obstacles, and he
will grant Christian someone to talk to and travel with.
One thing Christian would benefit from on his journey is someone to help him
when he is lost or does not know what to do. Oftentimes Christian struggles facing
foes during his journey to the Celestial City and they slow him down. If Paraclete
is there with him in these troubled times, Christian will waste less time. When
Christian faces Apollyon, Paraclete is there to help fight him off and defend

of high school, he first experiences loss in the form of death. His cousin Oslo
passed away due to drug abuse. His second loss is that of his brother, Gabriel
Witter, who suddenly goes missing and disappears. Gabriel, Cullen, and Cabot
Searcy s lives are all eventually tied together because of a missionary named Benton
Sage. Cullen Witter also experiences the feelingof loss in the form of love and second
chances. This story shows that hope and finding one s faith can all come together for

Cullen s loss of his cousin Oslo. It states, Nothing idealistic about seeing your only
cousin ghost white and stone dead. It is a metaphor because it refers Oslo as ghost

with other countries, this may allow an opportunity to receive goods and services

As time went on a theorist arose, a man named John Locke. Along with him having a
different perception of the social contract theory compared to Thomas Hobbes, he
also had a different view on what the state of nature was. Locke was actually the most
influential theorist to the founding fathers, specifically Thomas Jefferson . The third
theorist was John Rawls. Rawls name for his theory of the social contract was
actually often called the A Theory of Justice . These three theorists of the Social
Contract have strong beliefs about how a government should work and what
concepts are most important, as well as I do. I ve proposed a Social Contract that s
based on different views and different philosophical justifications from these three
theorists. My social contract is based on a very thoughtful and intellectual idea of
fariness and equality among our nation. Before societies came into existence people
lived an ordinary life. Everyone went through accomplishments and tragedies, as we
do now. However, people didn t have laws implemented to protect them from any
type of crime. Regulations weren t put into action to eliminate the taking advantage

Madeleine L Engle a French author uses a creative mixture of science and fairy tale
magic for building the story line in her book A Wrinkle in Time. From beginning to
end Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin go through adventure after adventure bursting
with animated fairy tale characteristics. This book has a model preteen coming of age
theme. The three are intertwined naturally, and work well within the science fiction
twist of this very unbelievable fantasy tale. The main character Meg Murry is the

The children soon realize that there are no nice people in Camazotz . In fact,
Camazotz, which is under the influence of the Black Thing which has defeated the
planet, seriously threatens their lives.
As in many fairy tales, special gifts are presented to the children. Mrs. Whatsit,
Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who, accompany them on the hill overlooking Camazotz,
assuring in a fairy godmother manner that they will be near, and they will be

Criminal Trial Of Boys Essay
Lyle and Erik Menendez were two young men who seemed to live an extravagant
lifestyle with their parents, Jose and Mary Louise known as Kitty. Their father, Jose,
worked very hard to provide his family with everything they could need, but this
came with repercussions. Jose was extremely tough on the brothers starting at a very
young age. Always placing high expectations on them for school, sports, and work,
and one day they boys finally snapped. On August 20th, 1989, Lyle and Erik murdered
their parents with an unclear motive. After they shot them fifteen times, combined,
they left to create an alibi to lead police off their tracks, this lasting a mere seven

By the time the trial came around, it was evident that the boys had committed the
murders, but it was still unclear why. After a ninety day trial, some jurors seen the
murders as self defense from the alleged abuse and sexual abuse that was inflicted
upon the boys by their father (Smolowe). The first two sets of juries found that the
lifetime of abuse was enough to not convict the boys of the murders, but the third did
not. The third jury were the ones that sentenced the boys to prison without the
possibility of parole. During the first trial, one juror believed that these acts were
self defense, but others did not. Both of these trials were very horrific and the
boys also said very horrific things. The jurors were said to only be shocked twice,
once when Lyle said he would miss his dog more than his mom, and when Erik said
he felt love for his mother when he put the shotgun against her cheek and shot her.
These two comments brought the third jury to convict these brothers. The third jury
did not believe that the boys killed Jose and Kitty because of the abuse that was
supposedly inflicted upon them, but for them to receive their parents fortune
(Latson). On March 20th, 1996, the brothers were then sentenced to life in prison
without the possibility of parole, and justice had seemed to finally be served
