Crafting an essay on the subject of "Type Essays Online" poses a unique set of challenges, as it
involves delving into the intricacies of online essay composition while navigating the broader
landscape of digital writing platforms. One must navigate through the multifaceted aspects of
online typing, exploring not only the technicalities of typing but also the nuances of online
platforms, tools, and the evolving nature of digital communication.
The task requires a comprehensive understanding of the various online platforms available for
essay writing, ranging from basic word processors to sophisticated online collaborative tools.
Addressing the advantages and disadvantages of typing essays online demands a careful
examination of issues such as accessibility, real-time collaboration, and the potential for
distraction in the digital realm. Additionally, one must grapple with the evolving role of
technology in shaping the writing process, considering the impact of artificial intelligence,
grammar-checking tools, and other online resources.
Beyond the technical aspects, there's the challenge of exploring the cultural and societal
implications of the shift towards online essay typing. This involves analyzing the influence of
digital platforms on writing styles, the accessibility of information, and the democratization of
content creation. Furthermore, addressing the potential drawbacks, such as issues related to
privacy, security, and the reliability of online sources, adds layers of complexity to the essay.
The process of composing such an essay also requires a keen awareness of the dynamic nature of
the digital landscape. Given the rapid evolution of technology, staying current with the latest
trends, tools, and platforms is essential. This demands continuous research and a commitment to
adaptability, as what may be relevant today could quickly become outdated in the ever-changing
world of online writing.

The Death Of The Elm Tree
Death is a natural part of life at least that is how the saying goes but many tend to
possess a skewed perception of death. The thought of death generally unnerves and
frightens people. Scientist Lewis Thomas addresses this in his 1979 essay On Natural
Death. In his essay, Thomas establishes himself as a liable source of information
through his scientific background and impressive schooling. Aware of his audience s
unease regarding this topic, Lewis Thomas dispels their trepidation by referencing
various deaths, beginning with the simplest forms of life and then moving to the
complex, and logically proving, through testimony and science, that the circumstances
surrounding the deaths may change, but the deaths themselves are still painless and,
therefore, nothing to fear. Lewis Thomas introduces his readers to the concept of
deathby referring to the easily overlooked deathof an elm tree. The death of the elm
tree is not traumatic; it is undoubtedly natural. No one gives the elm tree s death a
second thought: The tree surgeon came by yesterday with his crew of young
helpers... took it down branch by branch and carted it off in the back of a red truck,
everyone singing. This death is so insignificant that the people who are essentially
attending the tree s funeral sing cheerfully as they proceed. No intense emotion
results from the death of the tree. Neither fear nor sorrow encompasses this relatively
uneventful death. The tree is here one day and gone, passed over,
Natural Glow Research Paper
I used to think that in order to achieve the glow , it was all about the skincare. So I
bought the most expensive skin care products and sure, my skin looked good, but it
was still lacking that natural glow. So I went on a mission; a mission to find the
secret to the question, how do I achieve that glow from within?
Now, let me preface it by saying that I m not a doctor and everything I ll share is

new health and beauty products/ideas/routines. With that being said, let me share
with you my findings thus far, because I want all of us to feel and look our best. I

Maria Montesoron s Eight Stages Of Work
Maria Montessori was born on August 31, 1870, in Italy. Montessori was born to
educated parents and in her youth, she steadily went against gender roles that
existed during her time. Montessori graduated with honors from the University of
Rome s medical school in 1896, which made her the first female doctor in Italy. She
opened her first Montessori school called the Casa dei Bambini, which means the
Children s House in 1907. Montessori opened her school for unfortunate children in
Rome. The Montessori Method includes grouping different age groups with peer
learning, nonstop blocks of work time and guided choice of work activity and
Montessori learning materials. Today there are more than 4,000 Montessori schools
in America.
Erik Erikson was born in 1902 in Germany. Erikson married an American woman and

The Case of the Chicken Pot Pie
In reviewing the online Blackboard document and evidence regarding the case of
Susan v. Cansco, we can see that the plaintiff, Susan (last name is unknown) has
stated negligence against the defendant; Cansco, who is the distributor of Susan s
purchased dented canned chicken at the Superfast grocery store.
Susan is asserting the claim that Cansco had negligence on their product of the
canned chicken because the can was dented, and Susan and her guest (full name is
unknown) became ill after Susan had prepared a chicken pot pie with the canned
goods ingredients. After they had consumed the prepared chicken pot pie, both Susan
and her guest experienced a food poisoning illness. We understand from the

consumed some of the beef in the can of the Derby Corned Beef, which was
purchased at a grocery store. The Derby Foods company was the distributor of the
canned corned beef, to which the beef was imported from South America.
Unfortunately, Dean became ill after consuming the canned beef, and expired the
next day. The case stated in such cases the place of the wrong, the locus delicit, is
taken by courts in this country to be the state where the last event necessary to

their part. With comparison to Susan and Cansco, we have no knowledge to where

A Study On Progeria Syndrome
Progeria is a syndrome that is extremely rare which causes premature aging in
children. I found this disease very interesting because infants appear perfectly
normal at birth but the aging process begins to happen very rapidly as early as 12
months. The young children will start displaying elderly characteristics as the
disease progresses. These children will often die from old age diseases such as heart
attacks, and strokes or related complications. The mayo clinic website indicates that
progeriachildren live an average of 13 years, some can live up to 20 or more. The
oldest living progeria patient recorded was Meg Casey who according to the
Orlando Sentinel newspaper died in Connecticut at 29 years old. Progeria, also

Hutchinson). In 2003, the genetic mutation for HGPS was identified as a single
base mutation in the lamin A (LMNA) gene (Rork, Huang, Gordon, Kleinman,
Kieran, Liang, 2014, p 197). This discovery has led to genetic testing and the
development of drug therapies such as farnesyltransferase inhibitors (para. Rork, et
al., p. 197). These advances allow for the importance of a timely diagnosis. The
altered LMNA protein makes the nuclear membrane unstable and gradually
damages the nucleus, making cells more likely to die prematurely, which leads to
premature aging (para. Progeria, 2014). Most prevalent cause of death is
myocardial infarction or stroke, caused by hardening of the arteries causing a mean
life expectancy of 13 years (para. Progeria, 2016).
Predisposing Factors Progeria is caused by a mutation in the lamin A, LMNA,
gene. This spontaneous mutation is not due to hereditary but most likely occurs by
chance just prior to conception, making this condition extremely rare. In fact,
according to Mayo clinic website researchers believe a single sperm or egg is
affected just before conception (Progeria, 2014). This disease does not seem to
affect any one gender or race more than another. Neither parent is a carrier for the
gene mutation is purely a chance occurance.
Clinical Manifestations
Babies born with progeria typically look normal at birth but then show signs of
How Yeh-Shen Is Relevant To Today s Society
Folktales, fairy tales, and myths such as The Prince and the Pauper , From The
Black Ships Before Troy , The Apple of Discord , and Yeh Shen, Cinderella from
China all can be relevant to today s society. They all talk about how they are being
selfish and only thinking about themselves. One of the named folk tales are about
thinking of the other people and being loyal to them, that one is Yeh then. They all
are relevant to society because most people are selfish and they usually think they
are the highest peak of life , meaning they think they are the most important. While
Yeh Shen is relevant to only a few people in life because she puts herself last in line
and would feel guilty if he/she broke a promise. In the dramatization of the
Importance Of Separation Of Power
Since the beginning of America, our founding fathers have created the Constitution.
It became clear that a country running on a democracy system must divide the
powers within the government and its people. The people are able to vote for a
candidate either as the president or any other government official while the
government creates the laws to keep order. This is where the Separations of Power
comes in. The Separation of Powersallow each of the three branches ( Legislative,
Executive, and Judicial) of the government to look after each other assigning each
branch to look after each other. This is called Checks and Balances. You could say
it is the basis for our government ( Schifino 4). This is important to the united states
as it does not authorize the government to have too much power. Each branch has a
specific role to partake in the government. No branch can encroach on the authority
of another branch ( O CONNELL 898 ).The problem is certain branches may have
more power than other branches. The Judicial branch establishes the supreme court
and defines jurisdiction meaning they have the official power to make legal
decisions and judgment . They consist of federal courts and makes decisions on laws
that deal with the federal government. They can declare the laws created by the
legislative unconstitutional giving them power over the Legislative Branch. Not only
that, they have power over the Judicial branch by being able to issue a warrant to the
executive branch

On the night of November 9th, 1938, chaos struck the German Reich and forever
changed the lives of Jewish people living in Europe. This terror, known as
Kristallnacht, ended late on November 10th. As a result, nearly 8,000 Jewish
business and homes were destroyed, 200 synagogues were burned to the ground,
and 76 were demolished. Innocent Jews were beaten, raped, and terrorized by
Nazi officers in their own homes (Fitzgerald 72). As a result of this historic
pogrom, over 100 Jews were killed and 30,000 were sent to concentration camps;
most never to be set free (Fitzgerald 13). Earlier in the day on November 9th,
newspapers and radio stations, controlled by Nazi propaganda, had reported that the

general, more specifically Herschel Grynszpan, for lighting the fuse for the

Why it happened?
After establishment of electronic depository, transfer of shares and process
involved in it became simpler. In any IPO, there is a retail portion of IPO in order
to encourage small scale investors. Hence there was greed among people to get the
maximum of the retail portion in order to earn a higher profit because the big
companies IPO always had a lower issue price than the list price. Hence a huge
margin of profit can be earned from such shares. IPOs of these companies were
oversubscribed so as to have a maximum chance of allocation of shares.

Parthenon Marbles Research Paper
The acquisition of the Parthenon marbles by the British museum has been a
controversial topic for many years. The Parthenon marbles (commonly known as the
Elgin marbles ) concerns the set of stone sculptures and archaeological features which
were procured by Lord Elgin and imparted to the British museum in 1816. Although
the British endorse the legality of the subtraction of the marbles, many argue that the
situation was ambiguous. Through the removal of these historically significant
artefacts, Greece has suffered impacts upon their national pride, value and cultural
symbolism. This topic is not only a matter of legal and ethical import, but also a
degradation of justice. Perhaps the most contentious issue to be examined is the

A Brief Note On The Civilian Aerospace Industry Essay
Introduction: The civilian aerospace industry comprises firms that produce aircraft
and firms that parts of these aircraft. The most commonly produced civilian transport
airliners range from smaller turboprop aircraft to larger wide body jets. Other types
aircraft are produced in much smaller quantities and include two seat leisure aircraft,
corporate jets, and civilian helicopters.
Consumers of the American aircraft include the US government, airline companies,
cargo transportation companies, and various private businesses. Aircraft
manufacturers contract with these firms to produce aircraft. These manufacturers
often subcontract with smaller companies for specific components such as engines
and electronics.
The limited amount of aircraft contracts and large economies of scale in aircraft
production has led the civilian aerospace industry to be dominated by a few large
firms. The United States is home to most of the major producers in the civil
aerospace industry, notably the Boeing Company, United Technologies, and General
Electric. Due to the complexity of certain aircraft parts, subcontractor firms specialize
to only produce those components. For example, companies such as General Electric
and the United Technologies Corporation specialize in the production of aircraft
engines. These parts are then sold to companies like Boeing and incorporated into the
airframe to produce a complete aircraft. Notable foreign competitors include the

Inspector Calls Themes
In the play An Inspector Calls , Priestley included 2 main themes: the general contrast
and responsibility. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied
throughout the play, such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the
lower class, the reality vs. the predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism
vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila and Eric sympathized passionately with
Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. At an unpredictable move, the
young ones turned out to be matured enough to realize their guilt, to the extent of
them arguing and shouting at their own narrow minded parents. The elders their
parents in specific, believed that their social status deflected them... Show more

The second contrast lies between the upper and lower class. Priestley
differentiated Eva Smith from Daisy Renton; for each symbolizes a different
social status Eva represented the struggling workers while Daisy represented the
pregnant prostitutes. Synecdoche was used in Edna, the maid and Eva Smith to
signify the working class, and the lowest class using Daisy Renton and her unborn
baby John. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by
saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva
s death, to extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for
love, money and assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s
regarding Mr. Birling s judgments. Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War
2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he denied that both would happen; I
m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I say there isn t a
chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the
Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. This emphasizes what a
narrow minded, pompous snub Mr. Birling was. The final contrast could be presented
between socialism and capitalism. Mr. Birling

BHP Billiton describes itself as the world s largest mining company having 38,000
employees working in more than 100 operations in approximately 25 countries. In
fact, the company does not concentrate on diamond production but also on iron, coal,

The Music Of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an Austrian composer who mastered the range of
contemporary modern instrumental and vocal forms including the symphony,
concerto, chamber music, and especially in the opera.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria.
Mozart mom and dad, stressed about the importance music to their children.
Wolfgang received in depth musical training that by the age of six he was a rising
composer and a soon to be keyboard performer. In 1762 Mozart dad presented him
as a performer at the imperial court in Vienna, Austria, and from 1763 to 1766 he lead
both of his children on a continuous musical tour across.
Mozart was the most praised child prodigy of this time as a keyboard performer.
He also made a great impression as a composer. In London he won the admiration of
musician Johann Christian Bach and he was exposed from an early age to different
variety of musical styles across Europe.
Although he had great musical ability, Mozart s lack of a normal childhood caused
him much suffering. During his youth, Mozart was constantly in the news and was
extravagantly acclaimed by all. He was well aware of his precious talent and
developed an arrogant and overly confident demeanor. He had little discipline and
maturity outside the subject of music. Mozart frequently went through periods of
financial difficulty.
At age 4 Wolfgang himself began keyboard lessons playing without fault and with
great sensitivity, and by age 5 he was
The Protection Of Human And Civil Rights
Part 1: Background
Introduction: The protection of human and civil rights, has been a long fight, one
that this world has yet to win. The battles of this war are vicious: protests to
overthrow corrupt governments are noble, but at what price? Protests and rebellions
of international magnitude echo with violence and civilian casualties. A recent
example of this war has been the Arab Revolts in 2010, which devolved into the full
fledged rebellions known as the Arab Spring. The already tense situations in the
Middle East and North Africa, imploded into protests against unfair governments and
pursuit of these corrupt leaders. The international community, especially those of
democratic roots were quick to defend the righteous rebel ... Show more content on

His story reflected, the story of the community, poor with little options, making the
best he could out of a bleak situation, only to be humiliated at the hands of the
government. Because of this, it is widely believed that the reason for such intense
rebellion, stems from a deep rooted dissatisfaction with the rule of governments,
and the lack thereof of civil rights (Sadian 24). This dissatisfaction had been
surmounting for years, and as the protests grew in size and scale, the need for
change became more prominent. The protests held in Tunisia, became an example to
Northern Africa and the Middle East, leading to a wave of unrest and rebellion. The
spring began as Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen, as well as other countries began
to rebel against their own governments, seeking rights that had been denied to them
for years. In the midst of these fiery protests, several leaders such as Sudanese
President Omar al Bashir announced they would not seek re election in fear that their
citizens would, too turn on them (Weyland 923). Others forcibly resigned after
international and regional pressure: Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled
to Saudi Arabia in January of 2011, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak resigned in
February of 2011; Muammar Qaddafi (Libya) was overthrown in

Sacrifice- in today’s culture, the word is rarely...
Sacrifice in today s culture, the word is rarely associated with something positive.
You might think of a human sacrifice or giving up something you really want to
keep. However, in ancient greek culture, ritual sacrifice (although the act wasn t
particularly good) had a positive connotation because of the benefits for the individual
and the community the sacrificewas happening for. The importance of ritual sacrifice
to ancient Greeceis displayed by the passage from the Odyssey in which ... the
people of Pylos were gathered on the sea shore to offer sacrifice of black bulls to
Neptune lord of the Earthquake. There were nine guilds with five hundred men in
each, and there were nine bulls to each guild... they were eating the inward meats...

The large scale gathering allowed for new social ties to form, and loyalties to
strengthen. Ritual sacrifice was used for many different purposes to appease, to
gain luck, and to put the gods in one s favor are a few of the functions that the
Greeks believed sacrifice could preform. Because of the varied believed uses,
every Greek used sacrifice or participated in the ceremony at some point in their
lives, illustrating a united community. The social impact of sacrifice is illustrated
clearly in mythology. Because sacrifice could show how gods were feeling,
influenced the plot, and helped characterize the heroes, sacrifice was key to
mythology. ...so [I, Odysseus] sacrificed [the ram] on the sea shore, and burned its
thigh bones to [Zeus], who is the lord of all. But he heeded not my sacrifice, and
only thought how he might destroy my ships and my comrades. This example
provides characterization for both Odysseus and Zeus, showing the god as
righteous and angry, and Odysseus as clever (using sacrifice as an apology, even if
he s not remorseful). In other myths, such as the Iliad, a ritual sacrifice takes place
before every meal, showing the men to be respectful and devoted to their culture,
even in times of chaos. In mythology, sacrifice is rarely, if ever, portrayed in a way
that shows violence, because the act is sacred and treated as such by the heroes. In
book 11, the sacrifice of two sheep (and the promise of more) allow for the prophecy

Gold And Silver Trade
Museum exhibits matter. From teaching us about ancient civilizations, to famous
and not so famous battles, our museum exhibits are a way of learning history in an
engaging way. That is why when it comes to economical issues, not so fun a topic
to dive into for most, we need to open fun, engaging exhibits. That is why having
something of historical significance that can be explained in a fascinating way is
so important to do. That is why I chose the Gold and Silver Trade as a topic to
present. The Gold and Silver Trade is considered by some, to be the beginning of a
global economy. By learning about important goods sold and traded in history, we can
learn so much about world culture. From the trade of gold, and especially silver in
particular, you can see how important it was by the amount of civilizations that
thrived off of it. Gold and silver have been used... Show more content on

Price Revolution is a term used to describe a series of economic events from the
second half of the 15th century to the first half of the 17th century. It is about the
high rate of inflation that occurred during this period across Western Europe. It is
thought that the inflation was caused by the large amount of gold and silver
arriving from the Spanish treasure fleet from the New World. For those who don t
know what inflation is, inflation is the long term rise in the prices of goods and
services because of currency becoming less valued. A few adventurous Spaniards
traveling westward discovered silver which fueled their trade economy. What did they
find, none but the great PotosГ silver mines. However, their brilliant discovery led to
the deaths of almost 8 million Indians. From the years 1500 1800, Mexico and Peru
produced almost 80% of the world s silver. Meanwhile, Mexican silver production
exceeded Peruvian production by the eighteenth century, resulting in the minting of
half a billion Mexican pesos that were then used for currency in China, India, and

The Awareness Of The American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the organization involved in facilitating and funding
the annual Relay for Life fundraiser. Relay for Life is, the signature fundraiser for
the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is staffed and coordinated by volunteers
in more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries. Volunteers give of their time and
effort because they believe it s time to take action against cancer(Relay). This event
couldn t be what it is without the love and support from volunteers and sponsors
globally. This events planning is imperative to its success because it s important to
those attending and to those who are fighting the battle of cancer. Although this is a
global event, I am just going to focus on the campus of Texas A M University in
College Station. This event is beneficial because it creates an event specifically for
Texas A M University, and many different organizations are involved in something
important. Organizations on campus and the families of enrolled students get the
opportunity to volunteer and unite to find a cure for cancer.
The purpose of my manual is to create a systematic list that can be used to
schedule, plan, and facilitate the Relay for Life event for Texas A M s campus. This
formal report will consist of the planning required prior to the event, the scheduling
needed for the night, and the success and benefits of the fundraiser. This project
gives you the inside scoop as to how things are scheduled and arranged for the night.

Lisa Zunshine s Theory Of Mind
Lisa Zunshine establishes through her theory Theory of Mind and Experimental
Representations of Fictional Consciousness the readiness of human cognitive abilities
to read physical behaviour as indicative of mental states. Although seemingly
automatic, mind reading abilities are not always correct. Readers interpretation of
physical cues stem from personal thoughts and beliefs and dominate narratorial
voices that skew intended meaning. Zunshine s Theory of Mindexplores behavioural
interpretation in Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway character Septimus Warren Smith.
The novel challenges readers mind reading abilities in deciphering Septimus s mental
illness through dominant narratorial voices and levels of intentionality and their own
interpretations. However, misinterpretations are not wrong because readers use
Theory of Mind to interpret it, rather novels stimulate intended readers to exercise
their abilities.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scientists coined this evolved mental adaptation for understanding behaviour as
indicative of mental states mind reading or Theory of Mind (ToM) (Zunshine 847).
Although it is used towards social interactions, the human mind cannot distinguish
between real or fictional minds. Zunshine deems that default interpretation of
behaviour reflects a character s state of mind and that every fictional story that we
read reinforces our tendency to make that kind of interpretation first (Zunshine 850).
As readers practice their mind reading through fictional characters, the observable
behaviour is often connected with readers assumptions, beliefs, and ideas. Stories are
incomplete and ask readers to create their own meaning. However, they are
challenged to practice their meaning making with dominant narratorial voices and
behavioural
Analysis Of Hsun Tzu And Frederick Douglas
Education now is something that is a way of life, just as eating is. However
historically, education was one of the only ways to stand out in society, to be a
gentlemen . Hsun Tzu and Frederick Douglas, though worlds apart, share many
similarities on their view of education and what it should be like; at the same time,
each text contains key elements that show how different their views can be and the
reason behind it.
The similarities are quite simple to obtain through these two texts. Education was
something that never ends and gets you everywhere in life. Hsun even states in his
text that learning should never cease (9). To him education is the only mechanism
that could alter human nature and change you as person. Which seems to be the
same for Frederick; education changes a person. If a slave were to be educated they
could begin to make more connections to things that are wrong and right rather than
being an animal and not even knowing one s age. A slave that is passive and weak
has the possibility of forgetting himself, and that is when disaster occurs, the weak
naturally end up bound (Tzu 10); the disaster being that a naГЇve slave working under
his master thinking there is no other way. While the strong headed slave bears up
under the weight (Tzu 10) figuring there is more to life and what is going on isn t
moral.
As important as education is to these two great historical figures, it doesn t come
easy. In my opinion Frederick had it much harder than Tzu for
Deontology in Jim and the Indians
Jim has found himself in a quandary. When arriving in a South American town he
has happened upon a captain and his army about to assassinate twenty Indians in
order to deter other Indians protesting against the government. Jim is treated as a
guest to the town and offered the privilege of shooting one of the Indians in which
case the captain will let the other nineteen go, however declining this offer will mean
the captain will carry on as planned and killall twenty.
Consequentialism is ordinarily distinct from deontology, as deontology offers
rightness or wrongness of an act, rather than the outcome of the action. In this essay
we are going to explore the differences of consequentialism and deontology and apply
them to the quandary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise in the Jim and the Indians case, we could only act on our own good will
and not kill anyone in the hope that the good will would prevail in the captain and
his men. Deontologists would be of the opinion that something s we are not
expected to do, to perceive ourselves as moral agents. However opponents of the
deontological view, such as Nancy Davies (1993), would argue that this is just
keeping ones hands clean . Davies goes on to argue that, Deontologists ... not only
assign more weight to our own avoidance of wrongdoing where wrongdoing is
understood as violating the rule than to the interests of others, they also require that
we assign more weight to our own avoidance of wrongdoing than we do to the
avoidance of wrongdoing tout court, or the prevention of wrongdoing of others
(1993, p. 207).
However according to the rule based view of deontology, the taking of a life is
wrong and two wrongs don t make a right. To kill as of to save others lives is not an
option as the act of killing is being promoted. It can be perceived that the captain, in
his own wisdom, is of the opinion that his killing of the twenty Indians is justified.
According to consequentialism, the right or wrong thing to do depends on what
would lead to the best outcome; so each act is either morally required or morally
forbidden. We can presume so that a consequentialist who finds himself in the
situation of Jim
Analysis Of Aristophanes Does Your Language Shape How

Aristophanes once stated, High thoughts must have high language . Many linguist,
philosopher, researchers, and intellectuals believe that our language affects our
cognitive thoughts and others claim that it cannot manage our thoughts. Language is
essential in our daily basis interactions. Even for those who don t have the ability to
hear or speak, they have their own sign language, which they use to communicate.
Language is what we use to inform people with our thoughts, feelings, and desires;
language is the method that we use to understand and explore the world. Does Your

I remember how puzzled I was on my first day at high school. Even though I did

The Causes of Stress Among Police Officers Essay example
Friederich Nietzsche wrote, Whoever fights monsters should seek to it that in the
process he does not become a monster . This aptly applies to police officers who
face unexpected and potentially dangerous situations every day. Police officers are
confronted with destructive and negative behavior on a regular basis. Law
enforcement is one of the most stressful and demanding professions in the United
States. Characteristics of policework are stressful because a situation can change at
any time. An FBI report shows that approximately twelve out of every one hundred
or 60,000 police officers are assaulted each year (Stevens, p. 587). Combined with
many other factors, Stress is defined as the wear and tear our bodies and minds...

General stressors are not as crucial as critical incidents, but can be if not dealt with
over a long period of time. Some examples of general work stressors most
commonly cited by police officers that cause stress are: paperwork, public
disrespect, shift work, death notifications, domestic violence calls, or frustration
with the courts (National Institute of Justice Journal, 2000). Organizational stress
affects many officers but is not as obvious as other stressors that take place. Police
departments vary in size and resources, in spite of this, most organizational
structures of departments follow a hierachial bureaucracy. Organizational stressors
may include Women account for 14.3 percent of the law enforcement population
(Swanson, Territo, W, 2008, p. 559). Female officers are challenged with stressors
identical to male officers . Nonetheless, it is thought that female officers face
higher levels of stress than male officers . A great deal of stress for females is
caused by a predominantly male workforce, which leads to feelings of isolation on
the job (University at Buffalo, 2008). In a study conducted by Dr. John Violanti,
found that seventy two percent of female officers had higher than recommended

My First Year Of My Life
For years, I convinced myself that the story of my life began when I arrived in
America at eleven months old. I tumbled through the clichГ©d white picket fence
childhood, never realizing how impossible it was to completely discard the first year
of my infancy. While I had always known about being adopted from China, I did not
fully comprehend the weight of this detail until my late teenage years. I grew up in
a loving and somewhat sheltered environment. My parents made my adoption seem
like a grand fairytale, and they were my happy ending. To them, adoption made me
more special than the average kid, causing me to never think twice about my
beginnings. I was the miracle child who brought joy to everyone I met. As a child,

at Regent University. I had to give an informative speech on a current issue for my

s One Child Policy. I conducted intense research on the topic, and I fell into a
depression during that time. So many abortions voluntary and forced, early and late
term. So much abandonment. As I read an article about all of China s abandoned and
orphaned children, I, for the first time in my life, wholly came to terms with the fact
that I had been one of those abandoned infants. I had been an almost victim of this
cruel, unjust policy. When I presented, I used my own story to open and close my

called me in the orphanage. This is Louzhi, I somberly declared. She was abandoned
and placed in an orphanage as a small child, and she is one of the millions of babies
who are affected by China s One Child Policy. I discussed the policy s history and
how the only hope for abandoned Chinese babies was adoption. Throughout that ten
minute speech, I felt like an ambassador for Louzhi. Part of me was this Chinese
baby, but an even larger part of me, the part that had no memory of my infancy, was
simply Lili. I finally became Lili Louzhi as I ended my presentation. Remember

The Nervous System ( Cns )
Introduction: (Widmaier, E., Raff, H. )The nervous system is a complex system our
body uses to make decisions and perform actions. It is made up of cells called
neurons and special cells called glial cells (or neuroglia). Neurons produce responses
by generating action potentials. Action potentials are formed when graded potentials
are summated at the initial segment (integrating center) of a neuroncell body. The
action potential then propogates through the axon. The nervous systemhas two main
branches: the Central Nervous System, and the Periphreal Nervous system. The
central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brainand spinal cord. The neurons in the
CNS cannot heal itself when damaged ,and the majority of cells (around 90%) are...

The nervous system can call other muscles through a process called recruitment if
a load is to heavy. Efferent neurons cause acetylcholine to be released at the
neuromuscular junction ,which causes the muscle to contract. The autonomic
division (ANS) innervates involuntary actions such as heart beat. The ANS is
divided into two divisions , the sympathetic and parasympathetic division. The
sympathetic is often referred to as the fight or flight response ,because it is more
active when one is in a dangerous situation. The parasympathetic division is often
referred to as the rest or digest state ,because it is more involved in digestion and
during a relaxed state. It is worth noting that both of these systems are always
working simultaneously ,just sometimes one is more powerful than the other.
(Widmaier, E., Raff, H. End Citation)Afferent neurons are responsible for
sensations of touch. The neurons branch out and innervate areas of tissue. Tissue
where the neurons have a smaller area of innervation (like the fingers) are capable
of feeling with greater precision ,whereas areas where one neuron covers a greater
area (such as the back) have less precision. (Cutaneous Receptors and Referred Pain

be measured using electrodes. A recording of brain activity is called an
electroencephalogram (EEG). There are four EEG rythms that can be detected: alpha

For example, when collected the toilet water in San Leandro, the water collected was
placed in a container that may contain sodium, chlorine, or other contaminants. This
error could be reduced by placing doing the water testing kit right at the water site.
This prevents using a container to transport the water from the water site to the
classroom lab.
Conclusion: There are not a lot of connections that can be made of water quality in
the US. The water testing done in the lab does not represent the water quality of the
whole US. However, it is important to understand the contaminants in the water.
Water contaminants are not visible and can cause a long list of health risks. Water
quality is important everywhere. Most importantly, the water being tested was only
in seven sites located in the Bay Area. Water quality monitoring is extremely
important because everyone in America needs water to survive. Water contamination
can result in hundreds of diseases or deaths in the given area. Water monitoring is
done in water treatment centers. Water hardness is determined by the levels of
calcium and magnesium salts. Water softening can cause less soap usage, longer life
for water heaters, and less encrustation for pipes. The disadvantages of water can
cause more sodium in water, plumbing issues, and landscaping. The Bay Area gets its
water from Hetch Hetchy Valley inside Yosemite National Park. The aqueduct and the

Broward County Community Observation Report
This week s assignment was to search out the schedule for any local city council or
county commission public meeting and attend either in person or online to observe
the deliberations. This observation paper is of the Board of County Commissioners
(BOCC) for Broward County. The meeting was held on March 28, 2017 at 10:08
a.m. The Broward CountyCharter requires a division among the legislative and
administrative functions of government and the BOCC is the legislative branch of
the county government (Borward.org. 2017. para. 1). The BOCC consists of nine
members who are elected by district in partisan elections and each Commissioneris a
resident of the distract for which he or she seeks election (Broward.org. 2017. para.

The meetings I have attended focused on ground transportation items such as taxi
and transportation network companies (TNCs), i.e. Uber and Lyft and ground
transportation agreements. The atmosphere around these meeting are usually tense
and the public speakers are very loud and vocal. The meeting on March 28th, 2017
was more of a formal setting with vocal discussions, however, the atmosphere
surrounding the meeting was somewhat subdued compared to the other meetings I
have participated in. The BOCC were more relaxed during this meeting and even
joked with each other in a professional and polite manner. The audience, whom
should be quite during the meeting, also laughed at the Commissioners jokes.
When the audience participated as speakers the BOCC listened and then moved
onto the next speaker. Both parties, the BOCC and the public speakers were polite
and all speakers stayed within his or her allocated three (3) minutes timeframe to
talk. I was unable to locate any news articles relating to the March 28, 2017, BOCC
meeting. There were a few times throughout the meeting a commissioner asked the
County Attorney if what was being requested was the first time or a different action
taken by the Board than in the past. It seemed many of the new Board members
wanted to ensure they were not changing policy or actions of previous Boards.
Edwin Hubble Accomplishments
The Accomplishments of Edwin hubble Have you ever wanted to study the stars and
the universe? Well, Edwin Hubble did ,Edwin Hubble is a famous astronomer who
played a crucial role in the field of extragalactic astronomy. He is known as the most
Important observational Cosmologist the 20th century. He found out that the universe
goes beyond the milky way and that the universe is expanding. This essay consists of
the life, childhood, and accomplishments of Edwin Hubble (Wikipedia)
Edwin Hubble s childhood, Edwin Hubble was born in Marshfield November 20,
1889, Missouri, and moved to Chicago, Illinois when he was 10. There he attended
high school and he was good at sports especially track and field and he even broke
records there. Hubble received a scholarship to attend the University of Chicago in
1906. He worked as a lab assistant for Robert Millikan, who later won a Nobel Prize
for his work in the field of physics. After graduating in 1910, Hubble left Chicago
went to the University of Oxford, where he studied law philosophy. Then, 3 years
later graduated and around the same time his dad died.(Bio.com;Wikipedia) ... Show

At that time, the good view of the cosmos was that the universe consisted entirely
of the Milky Way Galaxy. Using the Hooker Telescope at Mt. Wilson, Hubble
recognized Cepheid variables, Kind of star that is used to determine the distance
from the galaxy, in several spiral nebulae. Including the Andromeda Nebula and
Triangulum. His observations proved that these nebulae were much too distant to
be part of the Milky Way and were entire galaxies outside our own. This idea had
been rejected by many people in the astronomy establishment of the time. In
particular by the Harvard University based Harlow Shapley. Despite the people
saying no Hubble, had his findings published in The New York Times on November
23, 1924.
Nicholas Copernicus Research Paper
The idea that the Earth was the center of the universe was not challenged until
about 1507 when Nicholas Copernicus went to Rome and chaired the mathematics
department. He wanted to find out how Earth works so that he can glorify God.
His findings, however, contradicted the church s scriptures. He did not publish his
findings until his death because of his fear of the church accusing him of heresy. I
do not believe it would have been wise for Copernicus to publish his findings
because of his lack of evidence and the fact that it was his word against the whole
church. Nicholas Copernicus was a Polish monk, astronomer, and mathematician. He
studied medicine in Padua and later took the chair of mathematics in Rome. He was
respected by the church so much he was called to Rome by the church to help with
the reform. Copernicus wanted to find, for the church, the meaning of the universe.
When he finally found something that he believed was significant, he decided that
he could not publish it, because he would be charged with heresy. He knew that his
findings would contradict Holy Scriptures and would be injuring people s faith.
He later decided to publish his findings right before his death so he could not be
punished. I believe that his findings were too advanced for his time. He had no
backing for his discovery and, if published earlier, may not have made the impact it
had. It was not accepted, but it put the idea into people s heads, specifically Galileo
Galilei.
Information Communications Technologies And Social
Media...
Executive Summary
Technology has had a huge impact on education in recent years. Although there has
been an increase in learning methods, technology has also made students increasingly
distracted. This subsequently gave rise to the increasing need for teachers to facilitate
the use of technology in the classroom. To make sure that their students stay focused
and to fully utilize the potential of technology, Ministry of Education (MOE)
Singapore must leverage on its main resource, teachers. MOE should utilize
technologies such as collaborative technologies and social media where teachers can
be present to facilitate. The effectiveness of these strategies would depend on the
efforts of the teachers. MOE should provide proper incentives to these teachers and
implement quotas or requirements for teachers to meet.
Position: Planner
Reader of Report: Minister of Education
Purpose of Report: To support MOE in its endeavour to create an Information
Communications Technologies (ICT) infused curriculum for their students.
Introduction
MOE is responsible for fostering a climate of literacy in Singaporean students for
generations through creating and implementing education policies. The Compulsory
Education Act (Cap 51) requires students aged between 6 and 15 years old to attend
national primary and secondary schools, which makes up the main bulk of MOE s
customers (MOE,2016). There is a small minority that are exempted from this
compulsory system such as students with special
The Dark Side of the Moon Landing
The Dark Side of the Moon Landing
The Final Frontier In 1969, The United States successfully sent the first manned
mission to the moon. It was a long time coming, a product of the Cold War s Space
Race. The Cold War began in 1947, between the Soviet Union and the United States.
There was no actual fighting in the Cold War, just political conflict, military
coalitions, and numerous competitions of brain rather than brawn. Among these
competitions is the most famous Space Race. Although the Cold War commenced in
1947, the Space Race did not begin until 1955. The President of the United States at
this time was Dwight Eisenhower. The first competition of the space race was to send
artificial satellites into space, but what has made the ... Show more content on

At precisely 11:07 pm, November 21st, Air Force One carrying John F Kennedy
and Mrs. Kennedy lands at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. Both Mr.
and Mrs. Kennedy go straight to the Hotel Texas after disembarking. The next
morning a crowd gathers around the hotel, and Kennedy delivers a spontaneous
address. Before the address Kennedy greets the crowd, answering questions
personally. Mrs. Kennedy remained in their suite in the hotel, preparing for the
Camber of Commerce breakfast at 9 am. A deputy sheriff stationed outside the hotel
recalls his brief moment meeting the president fondly. He refers to Kennedy as a
nice, courteous and neat guy. (Living History Program)
After the quick impromptu speech, Kennedy heads to the breakfast where his wife
will join twenty minutes after him. Minutes after Mrs. Kennedy arrives, John F.
Kennedy stands up to deliver his first official speech that morning. After his strong
speech about the hope for peace and security in the nation, Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy
take a short thirteen minute flight to Dallas. A pleasant crowd was waiting for the
presidential couple when they landed at Carswell Air Force Base. Mrs. Kennedy
was given a bouquet of red roses, and JFK shook hands with friendly supporters.
The President and first lady join Texas Governor John Connally and his wife in a
secret service modified, midnight blue, Ford convertible. The ten mile

  • 3. The Death Of The Elm Tree Death is a natural part of life at least that is how the saying goes but many tend to possess a skewed perception of death. The thought of death generally unnerves and frightens people. Scientist Lewis Thomas addresses this in his 1979 essay On Natural Death. In his essay, Thomas establishes himself as a liable source of information through his scientific background and impressive schooling. Aware of his audience s unease regarding this topic, Lewis Thomas dispels their trepidation by referencing various deaths, beginning with the simplest forms of life and then moving to the complex, and logically proving, through testimony and science, that the circumstances surrounding the deaths may change, but the deaths themselves are still painless and, therefore, nothing to fear. Lewis Thomas introduces his readers to the concept of deathby referring to the easily overlooked deathof an elm tree. The death of the elm tree is not traumatic; it is undoubtedly natural. No one gives the elm tree s death a second thought: The tree surgeon came by yesterday with his crew of young helpers... took it down branch by branch and carted it off in the back of a red truck, everyone singing. This death is so insignificant that the people who are essentially attending the tree s funeral sing cheerfully as they proceed. No intense emotion results from the death of the tree. Neither fear nor sorrow encompasses this relatively uneventful death. The tree is here one day and gone, passed over,

  • 7. A Study On Progeria Syndrome Progeria is a syndrome that is extremely rare which causes premature aging in children. I found this disease very interesting because infants appear perfectly normal at birth but the aging process begins to happen very rapidly as early as 12 months. The young children will start displaying elderly characteristics as the disease progresses. These children will often die from old age diseases such as heart attacks, and strokes or related complications. The mayo clinic website indicates that progeriachildren live an average of 13 years, some can live up to 20 or more. In 2003, the genetic mutation for HGPS was identified as a single base mutation in the lamin A (LMNA) gene (Rork, Huang, Gordon, Kleinman, Kieran, Liang, 2014, p 197). This discovery has led to genetic testing and the development of drug therapies such as farnesyltransferase inhibitors (para. Rork, et al., p. 197). These advances allow for the importance of a timely diagnosis. The altered LMNA protein makes the nuclear membrane unstable and gradually damages the nucleus, making cells more likely to die prematurely, which leads to premature aging (para. Progeria, 2014). Most prevalent cause of death is myocardial infarction or stroke, caused by hardening of the arteries causing a mean life expectancy of 13 years (para. Progeria, 2016). Predisposing Factors Progeria is caused by a mutation in the lamin A, LMNA, gene. This spontaneous mutation is not due to hereditary but most likely occurs by chance just prior to conception, making this condition extremely rare. In fact, according to Mayo clinic website researchers believe a single sperm or egg is affected just before conception (Progeria, 2014). This disease does not seem to affect any one gender or race more than another. Neither parent is a carrier for the gene mutation is purely a chance occurance. Clinical Manifestations Babies born with progeria typically look normal at birth but then show signs of

  • 9. Importance Of Separation Of Power Since the beginning of America, our founding fathers have created the Constitution. It became clear that a country running on a democracy system must divide the powers within the government and its people. The people are able to vote for a candidate either as the president or any other government official while the government creates the laws to keep order. This is where the Separations of Power comes in. The Separation of Powersallow each of the three branches ( Legislative, Executive, and Judicial) of the government to look after each other assigning each branch to look after each other. This is called Checks and Balances. You could say it is the basis for our government ( Schifino 4). This is important to the united states as it does not authorize the government to have too much power. Each branch has a specific role to partake in the government. No branch can encroach on the authority of another branch ( O CONNELL 898 ).The problem is certain branches may have more power than other branches. The Judicial branch establishes the supreme court and defines jurisdiction meaning they have the official power to make legal decisions and judgment . They consist of federal courts and makes decisions on laws that deal with the federal government. They can declare the laws created by the legislative unconstitutional giving them power over the Legislative Branch. Not only that, they have power over the Judicial branch by being able to issue a warrant to the executive branch

This terror, known as Kristallnacht, ended late on November 10th. As a result, nearly 8,000 Jewish business and homes were destroyed, 200 synagogues were burned to the ground, and 76 were demolished. Innocent Jews were beaten, raped, and terrorized by Nazi officers in their own homes (Fitzgerald 72). The Parthenon marbles (commonly known as the Elgin marbles ) concerns the set of stone sculptures and archaeological features which were procured by Lord Elgin and imparted to the British museum in 1816. Although the British endorse the legality of the subtraction of the marbles, many argue that the situation was ambiguous. Through the removal of these historically significant artefacts, Greece has suffered impacts upon their national pride, value and cultural symbolism. This topic is not only a matter of legal and ethical import, but also a degradation of justice. Perhaps the most contentious issue to be examined is the purported
  • 16. A Brief Note On The Civilian Aerospace Industry Essay Introduction: The civilian aerospace industry comprises firms that produce aircraft and firms that parts of these aircraft. The most commonly produced civilian transport airliners range from smaller turboprop aircraft to larger wide body jets. Other types aircraft are produced in much smaller quantities and include two seat leisure aircraft, corporate jets, and civilian helicopters. Consumers of the American aircraft include the US government, airline companies, cargo transportation companies, and various private businesses. Aircraft manufacturers contract with these firms to produce aircraft. These manufacturers often subcontract with smaller companies for specific components such as engines and electronics. The limited amount of aircraft contracts and large economies of scale in aircraft production has led the civilian aerospace industry to be dominated by a few large firms. The United States is home to most of the major producers in the civil aerospace industry, notably the Boeing Company, United Technologies, and General Electric. Due to the complexity of certain aircraft parts, subcontractor firms specialize to only produce those components. For example, companies such as General Electric and the United Technologies Corporation specialize in the production of aircraft engines. These parts are then sold to companies like Boeing and incorporated into the airframe to produce a complete aircraft. Notable foreign competitors include the European Aeronautic Defence and
  • 17. Inspector Calls Themes In the play An Inspector Calls , Priestley included 2 main themes: the general contrast and responsibility. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied throughout the play, such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the lower class, the reality vs. the predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila and Eric sympathized passionately with Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. Priestley differentiated Eva Smith from Daisy Renton; for each symbolizes a different social status Eva represented the struggling workers while Daisy represented the pregnant prostitutes. Synecdoche was used in Edna, the maid and Eva Smith to signify the working class, and the lowest class using Daisy Renton and her unborn baby John. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments. Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War 2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he denied that both would happen; I m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I say there isn t a chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria. Mozart mom and dad, stressed about the importance music to their children. He was well aware of his precious talent and developed an arrogant and overly confident demeanor. He had little discipline and maturity outside the subject of music. Mozart frequently went through periods of financial difficulty. At age 4 Wolfgang himself began keyboard lessons playing without fault and with great sensitivity, and by age 5 he was

The battles of this war are vicious: protests to overthrow corrupt governments are noble, but at what price? Protests and rebellions of international magnitude echo with violence and civilian casualties. A recent example of this war has been the Arab Revolts in 2010, which devolved into the full fledged rebellions known as the Arab Spring. His story reflected, the story of the community, poor with little options, making the best he could out of a bleak situation, only to be humiliated at the hands of the government. Because of this, it is widely believed that the reason for such intense rebellion, stems from a deep rooted dissatisfaction with the rule of governments, and the lack thereof of civil rights (Sadian 24). This dissatisfaction had been surmounting for years, and as the protests grew in size and scale, the need for change became more prominent. The protests held in Tunisia, became an example to Northern Africa and the Middle East, leading to a wave of unrest and rebellion. The spring began as Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen, as well as other countries began to rebel against their own governments, seeking rights that had been denied to them for years. In the midst of these fiery protests, several leaders such as Sudanese President Omar al Bashir announced they would not seek re election in fear that their citizens would, too turn on them (Weyland 923). I was seventeen, working as a counselor at a local summer camp called Montclair Learning Center. Now it s not one of those camps where you see kids are constantly at play; sliding across slip and slides, eating popsicles, fighting over who gets the last popsicle. Montclair Learning Center was a place where kids were learning so many new things that they were having fun learning it. My first day working there will forever be stored in the back of my head; as soon as I walk in the door the children swarmed around me like bees asking me question after question; How tall are you? • 23. Sacrifice- in today’s culture, the word is rarely... Sacrifice in today s culture, the word is rarely associated with something positive. You might think of a human sacrifice or giving up something you really want to keep. However, in ancient greek culture, ritual sacrifice (although the act wasn t particularly good) had a positive connotation because of the benefits for the individual and the community the sacrificewas happening for. The importance of ritual sacrifice to ancient Greeceis displayed by the passage from the Odyssey in which ... the people of Pylos were gathered on the sea shore to offer sacrifice of black bulls to Neptune lord of the Earthquake. There were nine guilds with five hundred men in each, and there were nine bulls to each guild... they were eating the inward meats... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The large scale gathering allowed for new social ties to form, and loyalties to strengthen. Ritual sacrifice was used for many different purposes to appease, to gain luck, and to put the gods in one s favor are a few of the functions that the Greeks believed sacrifice could preform. Because of the varied believed uses, every Greek used sacrifice or participated in the ceremony at some point in their lives, illustrating a united community. The social impact of sacrifice is illustrated clearly in mythology. Because sacrifice could show how gods were feeling, influenced the plot, and helped characterize the heroes, sacrifice was key to mythology. ...so [I, Odysseus] sacrificed [the ram] on the sea shore, and burned its thigh bones to [Zeus], who is the lord of all. But he heeded not my sacrifice, and only thought how he might destroy my ships and my comrades. This example provides characterization for both Odysseus and Zeus, showing the god as righteous and angry, and Odysseus as clever (using sacrifice as an apology, even if he s not remorseful). In other myths, such as the Iliad, a ritual sacrifice takes place before every meal, showing the men to be respectful and devoted to their culture, even in times of chaos. In mythology, sacrifice is rarely, if ever, portrayed in a way that shows violence, because the act is sacred and treated as such by the heroes. In book 11, the sacrifice of two sheep (and the promise of more) allow for the prophecy to be

Lisa Zunshine s Theory Of Mind Lisa Zunshine establishes through her theory Theory of Mind and Experimental Representations of Fictional Consciousness the readiness of human cognitive abilities to read physical behaviour as indicative of mental states. Although seemingly automatic, mind reading abilities are not always correct. Readers interpretation of physical cues stem from personal thoughts and beliefs and dominate narratorial voices that skew intended meaning. Zunshine s Theory of Mindexplores behavioural interpretation in Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway character Septimus Warren Smith. The novel challenges readers mind reading abilities in deciphering Septimus s mental illness through dominant narratorial voices and levels of intentionality and their own interpretations. Scientists coined this evolved mental adaptation for understanding behaviour as indicative of mental states mind reading or Theory of Mind (ToM) (Zunshine 847). Although it is used towards social interactions, the human mind cannot distinguish between real or fictional minds. Zunshine deems that default interpretation of behaviour reflects a character s state of mind and that every fictional story that we read reinforces our tendency to make that kind of interpretation first (Zunshine 850). As readers practice their mind reading through fictional characters, the observable behaviour is often connected with readers assumptions, beliefs, and ideas. Stories are incomplete and ask readers to create their own meaning. However, they are challenged to practice their meaning making with dominant narratorial voices and behavioural

However historically, education was one of the only ways to stand out in society, to be a gentlemen . Hsun Tzu and Frederick Douglas, though worlds apart, share many similarities on their view of education and what it should be like; at the same time, each text contains key elements that show how different their views can be and the reason behind it. The similarities are quite simple to obtain through these two texts. Education was something that never ends and gets you everywhere in life. Hsun even states in his text that learning should never cease (9). To him education is the only mechanism that could alter human nature and change you as person. Which seems to be the same for Frederick; education changes a person. If a slave were to be educated they could begin to make more connections to things that are wrong and right rather than being an animal and not even knowing one s age. A slave that is passive and weak has the possibility of forgetting himself, and that is when disaster occurs, the weak naturally end up bound (Tzu 10); the disaster being that a naГЇve slave working under his master thinking there is no other way. While the strong headed slave bears up under the weight (Tzu 10) figuring there is more to life and what is going on isn t moral. As important as education is to these two great historical figures, it doesn t come easy. In my opinion Frederick had it much harder than Tzu for
  • 31. Deontology in Jim and the Indians Jim has found himself in a quandary. When arriving in a South American town he has happened upon a captain and his army about to assassinate twenty Indians in order to deter other Indians protesting against the government. Jim is treated as a guest to the town and offered the privilege of shooting one of the Indians in which case the captain will let the other nineteen go, however declining this offer will mean the captain will carry on as planned and killall twenty. Consequentialism is ordinarily distinct from deontology, as deontology offers rightness or wrongness of an act, rather than the outcome of the action. In this essay we are going to explore the differences of consequentialism and deontology and apply them to the quandary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Likewise in the Jim and the Indians case, we could only act on our own good will and not kill anyone in the hope that the good will would prevail in the captain and his men. Deontologists would be of the opinion that something s we are not expected to do, to perceive ourselves as moral agents. However opponents of the deontological view, such as Nancy Davies (1993), would argue that this is just keeping ones hands clean . Davies goes on to argue that, Deontologists ... not only assign more weight to our own avoidance of wrongdoing where wrongdoing is understood as violating the rule than to the interests of others, they also require that we assign more weight to our own avoidance of wrongdoing than we do to the avoidance of wrongdoing tout court, or the prevention of wrongdoing of others (1993, p. 207). However according to the rule based view of deontology, the taking of a life is wrong and two wrongs don t make a right. To kill as of to save others lives is not an option as the act of killing is being promoted. It can be perceived that the captain, in his own wisdom, is of the opinion that his killing of the twenty Indians is justified. According to consequentialism, the right or wrong thing to do depends on what would lead to the best outcome; so each act is either morally required or morally forbidden. We can presume so that a consequentialist who finds himself in the situation of Jim

  • 40. The Nervous System ( Cns ) Introduction: (Widmaier, E., Raff, H. )The nervous system is a complex system our body uses to make decisions and perform actions. It is made up of cells called neurons and special cells called glial cells (or neuroglia). Neurons produce responses by generating action potentials. Action potentials are formed when graded potentials are summated at the initial segment (integrating center) of a neuroncell body. The action potential then propogates through the axon. The nervous systemhas two main branches: the Central Nervous System, and the Periphreal Nervous system. The central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brainand spinal cord. The nervous system can call other muscles through a process called recruitment if a load is to heavy. Efferent neurons cause acetylcholine to be released at the neuromuscular junction ,which causes the muscle to contract. The autonomic division (ANS) innervates involuntary actions such as heart beat. The ANS is divided into two divisions , the sympathetic and parasympathetic division. The sympathetic is often referred to as the fight or flight response ,because it is more active when one is in a dangerous situation. The parasympathetic division is often referred to as the rest or digest state ,because it is more involved in digestion and during a relaxed state. It is worth noting that both of these systems are always working simultaneously ,just sometimes one is more powerful than the other. (Widmaier, E., Raff, H. End Citation)Afferent neurons are responsible for sensations of touch. The neurons branch out and innervate areas of tissue. Tissue where the neurons have a smaller area of innervation (like the fingers) are capable of feeling with greater precision ,whereas areas where one neuron covers a greater area (such as the back) have less precision. Abc Learning Case Study Overview of the Business: ABC Learning Ltd was an Australian provider of early child hood education services, founded in Queensland in 1988, that through its 18 centres was the largest single operator of early childhood education services in Australia by 1997. Led by founder Eddy Groves, ABC Learning Ltd continued to grow, through the opening of new centres and the acquisitions of rivals i.e. peppercorn Childcare in 2004 in which 450 centres were purchased for $340 million. By 2008, ABC Learning was the largest provider of childcare, holding around 20 per cent of the long day care market and providing care to over 100 000 children (Senate education, employment workplace relations committee, 2009). In 2005 Mr Groves began an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mr Groves corporate governance practices were poor, and is currently in legal proceedings regarding interparty transactions, this was certainly news worthy, and damaged the company s reputation and slowed investor confidence. Additionally, the price paid to companies was deemed to be above market norms, siphoning more money from the companies depleted coffers. Critics are focused on the mess of the books for ABC Learning Centres Ltd, specifically the complex way in which revenue and profits were accounted for, particularly the way compensation payments from centre developers were counted as revenue (Thompson 2008). The Financial position of ABC Learning centres was misrepresented and projected a positive image of the financials, until Auditors Ernst and Young were required to pour over the books after the collapse. All of these issues are summed up in Thompsons (2008) assertion that Groves was the right man to grow the business but not the right man to manage the business, had the right manager been in place then the organization may have been able to turn its fortunes around. The Ethical Issues of the case: Firstly there is a significant Ethical and morale lapse in a share floated company when the CEO engages in related party transactions. The moral issues arise

For example, when collected the toilet water in San Leandro, the water collected was placed in a container that may contain sodium, chlorine, or other contaminants. This error could be reduced by placing doing the water testing kit right at the water site. This prevents using a container to transport the water from the water site to the classroom lab. Conclusion: There are not a lot of connections that can be made of water quality in the US. The water testing done in the lab does not represent the water quality of the whole US. However, it is important to understand the contaminants in the water. Water contaminants are not visible and can cause a long list of health risks. Water quality is important everywhere. Most importantly, the water being tested was only in seven sites located in the Bay Area. Water quality monitoring is extremely important because everyone in America needs water to survive. Water contamination can result in hundreds of diseases or deaths in the given area. Water monitoring is done in water treatment centers. The meetings I have attended focused on ground transportation items such as taxi and transportation network companies (TNCs), i.e. Uber and Lyft and ground transportation agreements. The atmosphere around these meeting are usually tense and the public speakers are very loud and vocal. The meeting on March 28th, 2017 was more of a formal setting with vocal discussions, however, the atmosphere surrounding the meeting was somewhat subdued compared to the other meetings I have participated in. The BOCC were more relaxed during this meeting and even joked with each other in a professional and polite manner. The audience, whom should be quite during the meeting, also laughed at the Commissioners jokes. When the audience participated as speakers the BOCC listened and then moved onto the next speaker. Both parties, the BOCC and the public speakers were polite and all speakers stayed within his or her allocated three (3) minutes timeframe to talk. I was unable to locate any news articles relating to the March 28, 2017, BOCC meeting. There were a few times throughout the meeting a commissioner asked the County Attorney if what was being requested was the first time or a different action taken by the Board than in the past. It seemed many of the new Board members wanted to ensure they were not changing policy or actions of previous Boards.
  • 48. Edwin Hubble Accomplishments The Accomplishments of Edwin hubble Have you ever wanted to study the stars and the universe? Well, Edwin Hubble did ,Edwin Hubble is a famous astronomer who played a crucial role in the field of extragalactic astronomy. He is known as the most Important observational Cosmologist the 20th century. He found out that the universe goes beyond the milky way and that the universe is expanding. This essay consists of the life, childhood, and accomplishments of Edwin Hubble (Wikipedia) Edwin Hubble s childhood, Edwin Hubble was born in Marshfield November 20, 1889, Missouri, and moved to Chicago, Illinois when he was 10. There he attended high school and he was good at sports especially track and field and he even broke records there. Hubble received a scholarship to attend the University of Chicago in 1906. He worked as a lab assistant for Robert Millikan, who later won a Nobel Prize for his work in the field of physics. After graduating in 1910, Hubble left Chicago went to the University of Oxford, where he studied law philosophy. Then, 3 years later graduated and around the same time his dad died.(Bio.com;Wikipedia) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At that time, the good view of the cosmos was that the universe consisted entirely of the Milky Way Galaxy. Using the Hooker Telescope at Mt. Wilson, Hubble recognized Cepheid variables, Kind of star that is used to determine the distance from the galaxy, in several spiral nebulae. Including the Andromeda Nebula and Triangulum. His observations proved that these nebulae were much too distant to be part of the Milky Way and were entire galaxies outside our own. This idea had been rejected by many people in the astronomy establishment of the time. In particular by the Harvard University based Harlow Shapley. Despite the people saying no Hubble, had his findings published in The New York Times on November 23, 1924.
  • 49. Nicholas Copernicus Research Paper The idea that the Earth was the center of the universe was not challenged until about 1507 when Nicholas Copernicus went to Rome and chaired the mathematics department. He wanted to find out how Earth works so that he can glorify God. His findings, however, contradicted the church s scriptures. He did not publish his findings until his death because of his fear of the church accusing him of heresy. I do not believe it would have been wise for Copernicus to publish his findings because of his lack of evidence and the fact that it was his word against the whole church. Nicholas Copernicus was a Polish monk, astronomer, and mathematician. He studied medicine in Padua and later took the chair of mathematics in Rome. He was respected by the church so much he was called to Rome by the church to help with the reform. Copernicus wanted to find, for the church, the meaning of the universe. When he finally found something that he believed was significant, he decided that he could not publish it, because he would be charged with heresy. He knew that his findings would contradict Holy Scriptures and would be injuring people s faith. He later decided to publish his findings right before his death so he could not be punished. I believe that his findings were too advanced for his time. He had no backing for his discovery and, if published earlier, may not have made the impact it had. It was not accepted, but it put the idea into people s heads, specifically Galileo Galilei.
  • 50. Information Communications Technologies And Social Media... Executive Summary Technology has had a huge impact on education in recent years. Although there has been an increase in learning methods, technology has also made students increasingly distracted. This subsequently gave rise to the increasing need for teachers to facilitate the use of technology in the classroom. To make sure that their students stay focused and to fully utilize the potential of technology, Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore must leverage on its main resource, teachers. MOE should utilize technologies such as collaborative technologies and social media where teachers can be present to facilitate. The effectiveness of these strategies would depend on the efforts of the teachers. MOE should provide proper incentives to these teachers and implement quotas or requirements for teachers to meet. Position: Planner Reader of Report: Minister of Education Purpose of Report: To support MOE in its endeavour to create an Information Communications Technologies (ICT) infused curriculum for their students. Introduction MOE is responsible for fostering a climate of literacy in Singaporean students for generations through creating and implementing education policies. The Compulsory Education Act (Cap 51) requires students aged between 6 and 15 years old to attend national primary and secondary schools, which makes up the main bulk of MOE s customers (MOE,2016). There is a small minority that are exempted from this compulsory system such as students with special
