Examples Of Ecology In The Bible
atmosphere just one square inch in cross section weighs about 14.7 pounds . This only shows that
the Bible has already stated facts long before scientists confirmed them.
Another field of science, Ecology, was spoken of in the online article History of Ecology as a new
science, having only become prominent in the second half of the 20th Century . Although this
much is true, it is quite evident that even before this field of science came into actuality,
ecologically related passages already existed in the Bible. It may sometimes be taken for granted
but as Cole describes it in her article Ecology and the Bible , in essence, to a Christian, ecology can
reveal more about the beauty and wonders of God s creation . A few good examples of ecologically

25, And took off their chariot wheels, that they drove them heavily:... They found numerous
wheels some were still on their axles, and some were off. They found chariot cabs without the
wheels covered by corals. So far, this coincided with the Biblical account. They found several 6
spoked wheels, as well as an 8 spoked wheel. And finally, in 1988, Ron found the 4 spoked gold
chariot wheel, which looked almost perfect. The reason this was so well preserved is that coral
does not grow on gold. The wood inside the gold veneer was deteriorated, which made it very
fragile and for that reason, he has not attempted to retrieve it from the water.
Many people question the Bible because of evidences that they claim not written in the Bible, for
example the existence of dinosaurs. The reason why dinosaurs are not written in the Bible is
because the word dinosaur was coined by Sir Richard Owen in 1841. These enormous creatures
where popularly called as dragons. In the article Forbidden History: Dinosaurs and the Bible it is
stated that The dragon, no doubt, has been romanticized down through the ages, but when you look
back into the historical records of nearly every culture in the world you find stories about men

Academic Advising Virtual Team
The team that I would like to discuss going virtual would be the Academic Advising team at Baker
College. The newly designed virtual team would be answering all student questions by email, phone
or chat. Academic Advisors work from home; the position would be completely remote. An
economic advantage of this virtual teamfor Baker College would be the decrease in office supplies
(paper, ink, office space and shredding services).
Communications between the team members would be the first strategy to be developed. Email
would be the primary communication method. Training for staff happens prior to the professional
advising team going live virtually. Brought together for training, employees would have the
opportunity to build social relationships with each other as well as the leader (Katzenbach Smith,
2013). All staff have the opportunity to share best practices or better ways to complete tasks and
communicate moving forward. Team members can share with the leader ways to improve so they
can collaborate on new processes that are more efficient as the virtual team develops (Katzenbach
Smith, 2013). Future communications outside of in person trainings, which are twice a year, would
be weekly team update emails. A weekly team update email is implemented rather than... Show

Through continuing educational trainings hosted virtually, staff will learn how to successfully
collaborate and learn the skills on how to handle conflict management and appreciate each other
(Katzenbach Smith, 2013). Individuals will be able to do these trainings asynchronous.
Technology such as a Wiki or Google Documents will be used when teammates are collaborating
on projects, so all the information is in one place that all team members have access as long as
they have the internet. Since individuals will all learn how to collaborate, they will use these
practices when working with others on problem solving, projects or new creation of

The Epidemic Of Fake Accounts
The online anonymity issue that arose ever since the internet had the ability to create profiles has
grown to a something much re than some face every day. Millions of fake accounts engulf us while
feeding us untrustworthy texts without even knowing. These fake accounts have the most
privileges when the secret of who the really are is never released. Having anonymityon social media
gives users some sort of safety cape to be able to possibly say whatever they feel. Some people
take this tool and use it negatively while others ignore it or even may use it positively. The
epidemic of fake accounts taking over the internet has been questioned to have an effect on those
creating it and how they may act differently thanks to having anonymity... Show more content on

This tool of anonymity can be used in a positive or negative way. Some may use it for stating
what they feel freely while other abuse the ability by using it against others. If viewers do not
know who is behind the accounts, they cannot make any logical judgments simply due to lack of
information about the profile. Because of the leeway anons have online, their behavior is lead to be
less restricted and more unbounded. Imagine being online under a fake name (or no name at all)
and freely stating your thoughts on the recent presidential campaign. The anonymous cape you gain
from having a hidden profile allows users to be more confident in their opinions their posting
(Palme 3). Sure, it could upset viewers or even be relatable on the other side, but no one would
know that you were the one behind that statement. It is almost as if what is being said
anonymously is protected, so it does not matter what you say! Being able to go online anonymously
has its positives and negatives. Users hiding behind these anonymous accounts seem to have a boost
of confidence online when they know that their identity is unknown. On the other hand, bad
anonymity has become somewhat famous on social media. Bullying, and so called catfishing both
assist bad anonymity into getting its name categorized into untrustworthiness.

Marketing Development And The Telecommunications Industry
TEOCO, The Employee Owned Company, was founded in 1994 by Atul Jain as an S corporation
under the original name of Strategic Technology Group. The original focus of this company was
to provide a high quality level of consulting regarding IT projects and some of their first
customers were large names such as Mobil, Freddie Mac, and many more. In March of 1998, after
three years of operations, the name of the companywas changed to TEOCO and Atul Jain made the
decision to shift the company s focus to product development and the telecommunications industry.
This move into the telecommunications industry came about from TEOCO s acquisition of
BillTrak Pro, which is a software product that processes invoices of payables. Following their first...

Major Activities One major activity of TEOCO is cost management solutions, which include
payable processing and invoice automation. This allows TEOCO to comply with the Sarbanes
Oxley Act of 2002, which requires every company to have a reliable reporting system.
According to the case, communication service providers can lose anywhere from five to fifteen
percent of gross revenue to revenue leakage (p. C 300). It is seen from the tables located in
Appendix 2 that the main competitors TEOCO has in cost management are Razorsight,
Connectiv, as well as Subex. Revenue assurance, another major activity of TEOCO, deals with
this issue by using their SONAR solution to find billing discrepancies and fraudulent behavior
and help discover customer usage patterns. By being able to bring more awareness to these issues,
their amount of revenue leakage is drastically reduced. The competitors in this area are the same
ones from cost management, with the addition of Wedo and cVidya. Least cost routing is TEOCO
s third and smallest major activity and comes with competitors such as Pulse Networks, Global
Convergence Solutions, and Telarix (p. C 300 301). TEOCO uses routing solutions to help
companies conclude the best route between two customers while also examining service quality and
cost. Discovering and understanding that these are their major activities helps TEOCO understand
their place in the industry and how to use it to their advantage moving forward.

Dr. Archie Logan Church History Essay
Church History Notes: Compiled by Dr. Archie Logan Reflecting on the notes of Church History
by Dr. Archie Logan, I am in agreement with the persecution of Christians in the early church as
well as in the church today. In my opinion, Christians have been harassed constantly for their
faith, which leads me to the Book of Psalm 119:86, All your commands are trustworthy; help me,
for men persecute we without cause (NIV). The Christians of the early church (OT) were
harassed for asserting God s truths, commands also adhering to them. There was much suffering
endured by the Jews because of their refusal to embrace idolatry. Looking at this ministry in the
world today it s much the same; Christians standing on the Word of God, living holy are the ones
who get passed over, talked about also treated badly due to their faith also those proclaiming the
gospel (Logan 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Under these circumstances, the Roman s (Patriotism) wanted the Christian worship to involve that

any compromising with heathenism. As a result, persecution brought about a change that
produced true witness of Christian faith, preserving true doctrines of the work of Christ
(www.bibleresearcher.com). I feel man have added also taken away from the Word of God (Bible)

The Large Regulatory Subunit
The large regulatory subunit PriL
The large subunit (PriL) of the primase is a regulatory, non catalytic subunit, where its exact role is
still undefined. Nonetheless, PriL, and in particular PriL C terminal domain (PriL CTD), has been
shown to have an essential role at the initiation stage of primer synthesis, but not during the
extension step. In fact, it is an essential gene in yeast. It has also been inferred that PriL CTD, is
involved in the primase counting mechanism (p58 .counting..). The PriL CTD has an iron sulfur
cluster which seems to play a structural role in conserving the correct three dimentional structure
of the CTD (Agarkar et al. 2011 ; Sauguet et al. 2010 ; Vaithiyalingam et al. 2010 ). To date, the
structure of PriL has not been solved in its integrity. Instead, substructures of a C terminally
truncated version of PriL (PriL О”CTD) have been solved in archaea and human (....). In addition,
the structure of PriL CTD has been reported for both yeast and human. In fact, two crystal structures
were reported for the human p58C (C terminal domain of the human large subunit) (.....).
In both archaeal and eukaryotic primases, PriL CTD exhibits a similar structure consisting of two
main domains; PriLО± and PriL SBD. PriLО± is a larger globular helical domain, while PriL SBD
is a smaller domain with a mix of both О± and ОІ secondary structures. PriL SBD represents the
surface binding domain that is in direct contact with PriS and constitute the dimerization interface.

Summary Of Power Dynamics In Bronte s Jane Eyre
Power dynamics in BrontГ« s Jane Eyre have been examined in a multitude of ways, including the
centralisation of slaves and masters (Zonana), and Dupras reading of the importance of economic
status and depravity. However, this critical response will focus on how the ultimate form of power,
and therefore the formation of power dynamics, stems from Jane s position as an unreliable, biased
narrator. The extract from chapter twenty seven, wherein Rochester tells Jane about Bertha s
voyage and confinement to Thornfield, ultimately displays how Jane as the narrator challenges the
influence of masculinity, and how power structures are superimposed by female narrativevoice.
Similarly, how Jane s voice furthers power imbalances between her and Bertha, as well as how she
holds power over the readers impressions of these characters.
It can be argued that Jane s narrative voice within the extract challenges Rochester s pre existing
masculine power, and thus elevates the experiences of women in society. This is shown through
Rochester s display of bigamy later in the extract; Jane narrates an arguably accurate account of
Rochester s speech, lamenting he was convinced that I could and ought remarry. BrontГ« s use of
language such as convinced gives connotations in this instance of male entitlement, as Rochester
refuses to acknowledge or follow the known law. Similarly, the use of ought gives insight into
Rochester s views of his own superiority; arguably, he believes he has a

Five Characteristics Of A Civilization
What is a Civilization; Final Essay Civilization. What exactly is a civilization? Well, I know one
thing that we can agree on; A civilization is made up of five characteristics. Those five
characteristics include Complex Institutions, Advanced Cities, Record Keeping, Advanced
Technology, and Specialized workers. Due to those five characteristics, a civilization is a place
of safety for a certain religious or ethnic group of people. Not only is it usually safe because of
those five characteristics, it is also a secure living area with its own form of government. Why do
so many of us believe this? Take a look around. There are many places and were many places that,
for the most part, stuck together with a singular ethnicity or religion. Within the next few
paragraphs, I am going to explicate how certain civilizations, or how civilizations in general, are
impacted in growth and development by geography, how the human rights are defined in certain
civilizations, and what the effects of human interaction over time both positively and negatively
affect a civilization. The geography within an area impacts both the development and growth of a
civilization positively and negatively. For example, there is the Nile, in Egypt. When the Nile s
floodwaters were just a few feet lower than normal, the amount of fresh silt was greatly reduced.
Thousands of people starved. (Africa packet, pg. 36) As the text states, thousands of people died
due to the surrounding geography. This;

her life story and wanted to learn more. Currently she is 72 years old, and lives in Vancouver,
Washington with her husband of 52 years Allan Bryant. She has been retired for the past two
years and enjoys spending her free time quilting and sewing, and does not have any major
medical issues aside from a few allergies. Sharon was born March 27th 1943 in Glendale,
California. For the first couple years of her early childhood her motherwas working while her
father was a photographer and a Seabee (construction worker) until the end of World War 2. She
first met her father when she was four years old. Her father struggled with PTSD when he got
back and Sharon described him as intelligent and nice, but could become very mean and angry,
and that she was to be seen but not heard. Sharon is the older of two sisters and spent a lot of time
helping raise them as both her parents owned businesses with her mother owning a catering

Persuasive Essay On Destroying The Earth
If you were informed at a young age that you must reside in the same house until you pass away,
would you lead a lifestyle that results in the destruction of your only permanent shelter? Would you
shatter the windows, smash the appliances, and wreck the structure almost to a point of no return?
Your answer to these questions would most likely be no, because any logical person would see the
absurdity in irresponsibly ruining the one place you are confined to for your entire life. Why, then,
does the humanrace have such difficulty applying this same concept on a larger scale? Why do we
struggle to realize that the collective choices we make affect our surroundings in a monumental
way? Why do we not take the utmost care in preserving the only home we have ever known? If
Earthis the sole place in which living organism can dwell, why are we are steadily destroying it?
The simple answer to these questions is that people naturally have difficulty fathoming what does
not physically manifest. If an issue is not concrete, heated debate over its legitimacy ensues. Even
so, the deeply concerning problem with waiting until the impact of our decisions is visibly
apparent is that it will be too late to reverse the effects by then. Environmental catastrophes
triggered by the actions of humankind are already creeping up on our world like a sluggishly
approaching grim reaper, and we need to take the initiative to ensure our longevity and safety. Of all

Abstract
The bases of this experiment was to discover the identify of the unknown from three possible
specimens: Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter aerogenes. Utilizaing the T
streak technique, the bacteria was isolated into pure colonies for further study. The Gram Stain
method was used to identity the morhphology of the bacteria such as the shape and whether the
bacteria was Gram positive or Gram negative. Biochemical test were also used to help identify the
unknown bacteria. The biochemical test used was the Triple Sugar Iron Agar, Sulfur Indole
Motility test, Methyl Red test, Voges Proskauer test, Citrate test, Urease test, and the Gelatin test.
After observing the morphology of the bacteria using the Gram Stain method and utilizing all the
possible biochemical test, the bacteria was identified to be Enterobacter aerogenes.
Introduction
Gram negative and gram positive bacteria differ from each other in many ways especially in the
composition and size of their cell walls. Unlike Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria
have a thin peptidoglycan layer surround by an outer membrane. This outer membrane contains
many proteins one of them being lipopolysaccharides (LPS), which contributes to the bacteria s
negative charge. One part of this protein is a lipid, called Lipid A, which is considered an
endotoxin because this lipid triggers an immune response stimulating fever

Land Grant Universities

The colleges and universities established in all states by the first Morrill Act in 1862 and the
second Morrill Act in 1890 are land grant institutions (Sherwood, 2004). The original mission of the

agriculture and the mechanic, and arts, in such manner as the legislatures of the states may
respectively prescribe, in order to promote the liberal and practical education of the industrial

The Monster that Was Pol Pot Essay
Why does nobody know who this monstrous human being was? What did Pol Pot do to become
such a terrible person? Pol Pot was a Cambodian dictator who led the country through hell. People

he did and how horrifying it really was. Pol Pot was the leader of Khmer Rouge, who led his
communist party to kill twenty five percent of Cambodiaresulting from starvation, overwork, and
executions.
Pol Pot was born with the name Saloth Sar in 1925 in Cambodia. His family was big on farming

Cambodia started to experience rough things happening to the country, such as the U.S. invaded
Cambodia to expel the North Vietnamese from their border encampments (The History Place). As
a result of this, it caused the United States to become major allies with Khmer Rouge. Between
1969 and 1973, the United Sates turned out bombing eastern Cambodia. Pol Pot is rationalizing
that he could lead the country to victory. The United States killed 150,000 Cambodian peasants;
can Pol Pot change the country for the better? Of coarse Pol Pot is now on the way to complete
dictatorship. Because of the death of many of these peasants, the majority of the country moved to
Phnom Penh because it was the capital city of Cambodia.
The people of Cambodia want an improvement in the government. Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge is the
best thing that will accompany the government, at least in the people s eyes. Everyone is
supporting him, envisioning the development of the government. In 1975, the United States
retreated their troops from Vietnam, losing its support from America. With the favor on Pol Pot s
side, Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge army invaded the capital, Phnom Penh, and took total control of
Cambodia.
Pol Pot was considering every opportunity to make the country recover. What was Pol Pot going
to do? He began using his knowledge with Marxism and what he knew about communism and
started an agrarian utopia, which was a society based on agriculture, because he was inspired in part

Wet evidence should be air dried to prevent molding. Packages must be sealed with evidence
tape, not staples; someone could cut themselves on the staples and contaminate the evidence
(National Institute of Justice, n.d.). Evidence can be lost be storing it in the wrong materials or
exposed to too much light, heat, or bacteria (Osterburg Ward, 2010). Evidence should only be
stored in clean and leak proof containers and kept in a cool place. Evidence should be delivered to
an evidence facility as soon as possible (Osterburg Ward, 2010). Keeping evidence too long can be
harmful for prosecution (Osterburg Ward, 2010).
Chain of Evidence
According to the National Institute of Justice, the fewer people handling the evidence, the better;
there is less chance of contamination and a shorter chain of custody for court admissibility hearings
(n.d.). The chain of custody of the evidence should include a list of all persons who have had
physical possession of the evidence as well as the time period they carried the evidence, starting
with the responding officer who was in charge up to this point. The evidence should be tracked

Criminological Theories
A theory is a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something; a theory of crime tries
to explain why certain things are related to criminal behavior. Criminological theory is the
explanation of police, attorneys, judges, prosecutors, correctional personnel, victims, and criminal
behavior in the criminal justice process. Most of what is done in criminal justice is based on
criminological theory. There are three main types of criminological theory: classical and
neoclassical theories, positivist theories, and critical theories.

This theory grew out of positive philosophy and the logic and methodology of experimental science
. Unlike the classical theorists, positivists assume that human behavior is not a matter of free will,
but determined. They also believe that criminals are fundamentally different than noncriminals, and
that crime is more often than not caused by multiple factors. There are many sub theories under the
main umbrella of positivist theories, including biological, psychological, and sociological theories.
Biological theories of crime are based on the belief that criminals are physiologically different from
noncriminals; criminals are a distinct type by birth. Psychological theories include intelligence and

Virtue Ethics And The Moral Life
Virtue ethics is concerned with the traits of character that make one a good person. Virtue ethics
seems to be more personal because it is not about choosing which side of an issue one would
prefer to take part in, but the kind of person one wants to be. A virtuous person is considered to be
a morally good person, and virtues are good traits. For virtueethics, the moral life is about
developing good character. Aristotle was one of the earliest writers to ground morality in nature,
and specifically in human nature. For Aristotle, virtue was an excellence of some sort. According
to Aristotle, there are two types of virtues: intellectual virtues and moral virtues. Intellectual
virtues are excellences of the mind, such as the ability to understand, reason, and judge well.
These traits can be learned from teachers. Moral virtues on the other hand, dispose us to act well.
These virtues cannot be taught, and they are learned by repetition. Aristotle s list of virtues
includes courage, temperance, justice, pride, and magnanimity. However Aristotle is probably
most well known for his position that virtue is a mean between extremes. For example courage is
to be understood as a mean between the two extremes of deficiency and excess. Too little courage
is cowardice, and too much is foolhardiness. When we concern ourselves with virtue ethicsI don t
think that there are any virtues that can be universalized because the character traits apply mainly
to individuals. Some may say that

Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia
Euthanasia, a relatively new word, but its contents as old as humanity itself. In other words, it is
assisted suicide, deliverance. Death affects all of us, however, in reality, no one talks about it. In
the final phase of life, people should have the right to decide if they want to die from the hands of
a doctor. Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicidefor incurable
diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a
patient without being sued in the future. To illustrate, 86 percent of public support euthanasia for
the terminally ill or on life support ( Euthanasia Statistics ). Euthanasia should be legalized through
the whole world because people should be able to decide whether they want to live or die. A person
sufferingfrom a serious illness that is getting worse and worse every day and causes that the person
has to stay in a hospital bed while having a cruel pain should have a right to euthanasia.
Unfortunately, this assisted deathis forbidden in most countries all over the world. However,
according to The Economist newspaper in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands,
Belgium and Luxembourg allow assisted suicide ( Over My Dead Body; Assisted Suicide ). At

the American view of people who are perceived as a terrorist. Then, Fedaku, William s taxi

Every time William is at the airport, he scans for little brown guys who reeked of
fundamentalism (Alexie 270). White Americans always gave William dirty looks, yet he was
no different. Because William is of Indian descent, he often gets characterized as a terrorist, but
he also characterized a lot of other people that looked the same way as him. The whole world
relies on mass media because it is today s way of retrieving information about the world. The
media can either make you or break you. In this case, the media made all people of color look
like terrorists blaming them for actions of others. Muslims are blamed for 9/11, and even
though William is not a Muslim, he is stereotyped as a terrorist because of his physical features.
For example the invisibility of Native Americans in mass media provides a unique vantage point
for examining how media representations impact both identity and self understanding (Leavitt)
which means whenever you do see a Native American on media, they are most likely shown as
19th or 18th century figures. Or they are stereotyped as poor, uneducated, and prone to
addictions (Leavitt) but in this case William is the exact opposite, yet he still gets stereotyped as
a different race because he does not meet the requirements for his own race. Not only is William
stereotyped but so is Fekadu, William s taxi driver. Fekadu is a Muslim Oramo member from
Ethiopia, yet people think [he is] black, they don t see [him] as a terrorist, only as a crack head
addict on welfare. Once again we are seeing someone being misjudged by their physical
appearance even though they are nowhere near the misinterpretations. Whichever type of media

racial/ethnic groups. These groups are always stereotyped and based on the racist actions done

`` The Cradle Of Freedom `` By Nathaniel Philbrick
Samuel Adams once said, It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless
minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. In Bunker Hill, Nathaniel
Philbrick chronicles how the conflagration of the American Revolution would erupt from the
embers of the past focusing on the great impact that those involved in the infamous battle for which
the book is titled and the battle itself would have on the colonies and their fight for liberties. This
is a vivid bildungsroman for the city of Boston, teeming with new thoughts and ideals, that would
face internal conflict, which would later give the city the title the Cradle of Freedom. 1 Setting
aside the legends of the revolution, Philbrick presents not only a historic event in American history,
but also the subtle, essential moments that are not limited to 1775 but are the underpinning
mechanics of overthrowing a regime that are essentially the same today as they were in the
eighteenth century; however, focusing on our mythic Founding Fathers, many overlook the true
nature of the war that is present in every revolution.2
Unlike the hackneyed stories told to us as children on the Fourth of July, the American colonies
were not victims to an overly oppressive, malevolent motherland thousands of miles away. In fact
studies have shown that the American colonies were the least taxed people in the Western world
and that, overall, the claims of English oppression boil down to nothing more

Ophelia, By William Shakespeare
Depression is an uncontrollable disease of the mind, which can result from devastating events or
hardships that one experiences. If left unnoticed, the individual can fall into a detrimental state, and
may even be compelled to take their own life, as a result of their misery and hopelessness. In the
play, Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, one of the characters, Ophelia, suffers from this disease
which sadly goes unrecognized throughout the story. Her symptoms and actions hold a similarity to
what someone in present time would display with this mental illness. Shakespeare depicts the
symptoms and resulting consequences of depression through the character Ophelia, by drawing
attention to how isolation and unrequited lovemay lead to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ophelia likely feels lonely due to her being the only female in the direct family. Her father
seemingly has her best interests at heart, and tries to convince her that Hamlet s advances
towards her aren t genuine: Affection! Pooh, you speak like a green girl, Unsifted in such
perilous circumstance. Do you believe his tenders, as you call them? (3.4.101 103).
Additionally, her father warns her to not fall for Hamlet s attention, Marry, I ll teach you. Think
yourself baby, that you have ta en these tenders for true pay, which are not sterling. Tender
yourself more dearly, or not to crack the wind of the poor phrase, running it thus you ll tender me
a fool (3.4.105 110). He declares she must hold a higher level of respect for herself than to fall for
some lowly suitor, and even adds how she should avoid making he, her father, look stupid by
returning Hamlet s advances upon her. With no instruction from a female role model in her life, she
is left to her emotions and the contradicting instructions from her father and brother.
The lingering hope Ophelia has in finding love is seemingly crushed when her father deems the
only man she wants unsuitable, which illustrates her increasing

Bodybuilding Controversy
Bodybuilding and Steroids: An Ongoing Controversy
Throughout many generations as well as the present day, bodybuilding has been a much favored
sport in the fitness industry. The question first begins with what a sport is determined to be. The
definition seems to be: a human activity capable of achieving a result requiring physical exertion
and skill, which by nature, is competitive (Kennedy 121). Conceivably, bodybuilding fits the
definition; However, the primary problem that bodybuilders, the industry, and just the name,
bodybuilding, in general face are the numerous controversial issues about the usage of anabolic
drugs commonly referred to as steroids. The FDA has banned any and all steroids, causing them to

Tren Xtreme, Mass Xtreme, and Estro Xtreme are among the supplements cited by the FDA as
containing steroid like substances. Under the law, dietary supplements are defined as, products
that contain minerals and herbs, and do not claim to prevent, mitigate, or cure specific illnesses
(Shmidt par.15). Thus, the FDA recommends and lists regular, legal foods, which are effective in
gaining muscle mass and weight loss. These foods are listed: cottage cheese, lean ground beef,
soy, eggs, chicken, fish, and vegetables. Lastly, Andrew Shao, the vice president for the Science
and Regulation Council of Responsible Nutrition, working with the FDA, states that it is very
difficult to ban all substances proven illegal in an industry that strives off of them, making 2.8
billion dollars in sales every year (Shmidt par.17). They cannot apprehend everyone who takes
dietary supplements and anabolic steroids, but are doing their best to make a difference by
promoting healthier ways to maintain a well and safe structured body. Controversial to the FDA,
Tina Chandler, who is a master trainer and a nationally known woman bodybuilder, stated that
although the FDA is correct about the adverse effects of dietary supplements, they are erroneous
when stating that they are ineffective. In a face to face interview, Mrs. Tina Chandler stated, I

The Importance Of Road Work In El Paso
Introduction
There is a wide range of community problems that exist in the city of El Paso, Texas ranging from
gender, violence, education, and even health. Yet, there is a greater issue that usually everyone
notices and falls victim for but is mostly unthought of and ignored by many due to the impotence of
finding a solution to it. This problematic issue is the road work going on all around the community.
Whether it consists of fixing something as simple as a street light to adding new rails, pavement,
or sidewalks these projects become a lifetime of problems to all the members of the city. These
projects have a timeline that is mostly never met due to the poor management of time and of
working conditions that come along with the projects. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Human Potential Is A Concept That Was Introduced By Early...
Human potential is a concept that was introduced by early personality theorists many years ago,
and it implies that as humans, we have an innate tendency toward personal growth and
development, and under the right circumstances, this tendency will lead us to actualize our
potential and become all that we can be (Deci, Ryan, Guay, 2013, p. 109). In other words, each
and every person has their own inner potential, and it just takes the right conditions to realize it.
According to the self determination theory, full functioning involves individuals having access to
and using all of their capacities for experience, connection, and proactivity (Deci, Ryan Guay,
2013, p. 110). The term full functioning is used in this theory to refer to self actualization. Full
functioning is characterized by being aware and mindful, pursuing and attaining intrinsic life goals,
and obtaining inner peace and quiet (Deci, Ryan, Guay, 2013, p. 110). In order to reach a level of
full functioning, according to the self determination theory, there are three basic psychological
needs that must be fulfilled in order to perform the behaviors that are related to full functioning.
These needs are universal and are essential for psychological well being. They include competence,
relatedness, and autonomy(Deci, Ryan, Guay, 2013, p. 111). Competence refers to the desire to
interact effectively in one s environment, and it is a person s perceived competence that leads to
satisfaction and

Education, Gender Roles And Humanism
Education, Gender Roles and Humanism in the Renaissance. Throughout the fourteenth and into
the fifteenth century there were a number of tragic events that directly caused a revitalization of
society. This revitalization was needed to restore hope to the people that were living each day for
survival. Some of these events were the destabilization of the Catholic Church with the relocation of
the papacy from Rometo Avignon. This would soon be followed by the Black Death and its
mammoth death toll that lead to the reduction of work forces and uprisings of peasants . At the
same time England and France were fighting a series of wars that were later be deem The Hundred
Years War and this battle would add to a western mindset that was being cultivated to expect death,
destruction, violence, sickness and poverty. In the midst of this depressing and violent society, Italy
and more specifically Florence, saw a need for change and to work towards the elevation of
society, the creation of a new society, and a new mindset to bring about a more civil and cultured
society. This lead to a new philosophy called Humanism and this Humanistic evolution of the
educational system involved a total reconstruction of the university curriculum, as well as the
resetting ideals of gender roles. In the beginning of this new society there was a great admiration
for classic Roman culture and this was the model being used with a great focus on the arts,
philosophy, religion, and honor. The

towards my own wellbeing. I will then evaluate this to make strategies for my future lifelong
wellbeing in the future what it should look like.
Physical activities and experiences that I paraitcaped in as I grew up I mainly found swim
sessions, ball rush, golf and cricket as positive experiences as we did them with my family and
younger friends which I really enjoyed doing I found rugby to become a negative experience for
me. As in rugby my friends had stopped playing, as I was too small and got smashed from the
larger players so I participated in other activities. Rugby is a national sport in New Zealand and I
have the assumption of being played by large muscular males and most New Zealand children
when growing up. Which in my case is not true as I m more towards the ectomorph body shape
which proves the assumption that the bigger mesomorph players tended to be better than I was
at the time. A positive of this rugby expericne was that it is a sport that I ve had not family
influences to participate in it as many of the sports I do play have, which can be a positive from
this experience. I ve always enjoyed playing golf as I ve played it all my life since I was little. My

Tony Andrews is a veteran sound engineer and a highly regarded sound system designer. Tony
Andrews and John Newsham founded the legendary sound system manufacturer known as
Funktion One in 1992. Before that they were also responsible for founding Turbosound in the
1970s which is where Tony set out to get the perfect live sound (or as close to it as possible). Tony
Andrews was convinced that live sound could sound the way a band did in a recording studio. Tony
s involvement with the Glastonbury Festival(before Turbosound) led to the development of the
proper festival sound which consisted of separate cabinets for the lows, mids, and high
frequencies. This revolutionized and changed the quality of live sound in the mid 70s and paved
the way for a new era of sound systems.
In 1978 Tony Andrews met John Newsham and formed Turbosound. They began designing and

University Exclusivity
This country that we live in, the United States of America, has a reputation as being the land of
opportunity. Foreigners and native born citizens regard this land as the pot of gold at the rainbow
s end for those individuals who wish to make a life for themselves through hard work and
perseverance. Yet for many minorities and economically disadvantaged people, the dream is
unfulfilled because the educational opportunities that they need are unavailable. The universities are

Adrienne Rich gave a graduation speech in which she blamed gender bias as a roadblock to
women. She felt that women had a more difficult time entering college than men, and for those who
did have such privilege, success rested on their ability to think like men (47). For the women who
have the privilege of a university education, their world is now influenced and controlled by men,
and feminine individuality is constructively discarded.
Mike Rose took up the baton with the issues of under privileged people who are unable to
progress as high up the ladder of education as they desire because they lack the basic skills
required by universities. He gave many examples of struggling men and women of all racial
groups who, having the desire to learn, are routinely excluded because they have not yet learned
enough. He described the struggles of one Chinese immigrant who learned to speak English by
watching television and reading People magazine. To many immigrants, even the most basic
English classes are impossible for a non native speaker to grasp.
One popular argument in favor of this practice claims that the universities are exclusive because
they have to be. It is impossible to educate everyone, so only the ones with

Puritans Influence On Today s Society
Today, people describe the Puritans with their biased point of view. It is not unfathomable why
people do not like the Puritans. The Puritans society and today s society are very different.
Puritan society was very restrained; people could only believe in God and the Bible was the law.
Unlike Puritan society, today s society does not restrain religion. Even though Puritans had bad
influences on today s society, Puritans played a pivotal role in constructing the USA. If you look
around more carefully, you will easily realize that some things that you took for granted were
actually influenced by the Puritans, and they are very significant and necessary to today s society.
The Puritans influences on today s United States are found in the areas of economy, government,
education, church, and social mores. The Puritans influences on the economy are very palpable.
On the US dollar you can clearly see the statement In God we trust. Money is the most significant
tool in an economy; therefore, a statement about God on the money of the USA accentuates the
Puritans role in determining the economy of the United States. Today, people recommend
frugality. Even people like Bill Gates, Carlos Slim, and Warren Buffet do not use their money
prodigally. Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, only has $100,000 car; Carlos Slim, the second
richest man in the world is known for his stinginess he even checks how much he spent for his

it to unbelievable acts of violence, the first one being the killing of Frankenstein s youngest brother

Violent Video Games Do NOT Contribute to Youth Violence...
Although violent video games are thought to encourage real world violence, they actually help to
prevent it. I am focusing on violent video games and how they affect juveniles because I feel that
this issue needs to be looked at in the criminal justice community. It is an unnecessary distraction to
blame the actions of a disturbed youth on a form of entertainment that has been used by millions of
people without incident. A review article published in The Psychiatric Quarterly found that many
studies which claim to indicate an increase in aggression due to video games are, in fact, biased!

In their research of violent videogames and the effect on children, they have found that the
simplistic belief that exposure to media violence will lead directly to individual violence is clearly
wrong. (Kutner, Olsen, 2008) I am going to ask you to look deeper than this. I assert that although
violent video games are thought to encourage real world violence, they actually help to prevent it.
Level 1: What Games Can Do For You
Video game violence does not cause youth violence and in fact may help to curb this violence.
Violent video games have never been proven to cause youth violence. One of the most looked at
franchises in video game history is Grand Theft Auto (GTA). However, since GTA hit the scene
in a big way in 2001, youth violent crime has actually decreased! (Snyder, Sickmund, 2006) By
2003 the GTA franchise had already sold 22 million copies worldwide since the release of GTA
III in 2001. (Take Two Interactive, 2004) GTA games have violence, prostitution, and offensive
language. I believe that allowing adolescents to play these games works as a method of
relaxation and release of stress. Teens and violence have gone hand in hand for years. In the
1990s youth violence hit an all time high. (Snyder, Sickmund, 2006) Since the release of GTA III
we have seen a decrease in youth violence. I believe that the reason for this centers around

If, for example, the content is a new policy on vacations and holidays, the training method almost

Native American Civilization Of Native Americans
As soon as the colonists set foot on the land of the Americas, they were building and growing
crops on land that originally belonged to the Indians, also known as Native Americans. Already
having lost land to the white settlers, some tribes dreaded the news of the revolutionary war
against the British, as they were afraid that the American Revolution would lead to more loss of
land. Another reason may be linked to the idea of a noble savage. Some settlers, such as Thomas
Jefferson believed that Indians could vindicate themselves if they lived and adapted to the ways of
the white man. The Indians were not interested in this white way of life and wanted to continue
living with their own traditions and culture. They did not want to be taught Jefferson s idea of
civilization. Most indians stayed neutral during this war, but some did not. While the Cherokeetribe
did not side with the British, the chief, Dragging Canoe, led the tribe in attacks against white
settlements in the summer of 1776 in response to losing land to the white colonists. The Patriot
Militia fought back and the chief and some of his followers had to retreat across the Tennessee
River. The remaining Cherokee were left to a new treaty making them give up more land. The
Iroquois tribe declared neutrality in the war, but Iroquois members still joined the British. Two of

The Importance Of Perfluorooctanoic Acid ( Pfoa )
In the 1950 s DuPont, an American industrial conglomerate, started producing Teflon at its
Washington Works Plant near Parkersburg, WV; a couple of hours southeast of Columbus, Ohio
on the Ohio River. Teflon is a non stick coating commonly found on water resistant clothing,
cookware, among other things. One of the main byproducts of Teflon is perfluorooctanoic acid
(PFOA), more commonly known as C8. DuPont s Washington Works plant released C8 into the air
as well as the Ohio River until 2001, at which point abnormally high levels of the acid were
detected in drinking watersupplies throughout the river in Little Hocking, Ohio. The Little
Hocking water system consists of five groundwater wells located immediately west
(downstream) of the Ohio River and it took approximately 50 years for the C8 released into the
Ohio River to reach the well fields. This is because contaminates were transferred via
groundwater, which travels much slower than the river s surface water. However, once the C8
had infiltrated the wells, an estimated 70,000 people were exposed to contaminated water. Shortly
after the harmful levels of C8 were detected in the well fields, exposure to C8 was linked to cases
of kidney cancer, testicular cancer, ulcerative colitis, thyroid disease, pregnancy induced
hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. As a result, in 2005, customers of Little Hocking Water

Many times prophecies were made and fulfilled, leading the readers to believe that supernatural
forces God or otherwise were present in the unfolding of the story. When Booth was born, his
mother believed the flames in the fire spelled COUNTRY, and so she believed that he would
have a great effect on America. Also, as a teenager, Booth had a fortune teller predict his future.
When she looked at the may crossed lines on his palms she became worried and predicted he
would die young but famous. Both of these prophecies were fulfilled in Booth s life. At the
White House, just days before his assassination, Lincoln had a dream. In the dream, he had died
been shot and killed and was lying in a large curtained coffin in the Green Room. This too came
true. In response to these occurrences, I cannot really judge whether they are true or false. I
generally consider supernatural events to be unlikely, though I would not deem them impossible.
Considering the specific events in the story however, I believe the word in the flames and the

Nail Polish Personal Statement
Whenever people ask me what I want to do in life, I always brace myself for the confused stares
I know I will be receiving as soon as I reveal my goal to them. I want to own my own nail polish
company. This aspiration as often seen as not only an obscure one, but also one of muted
ambition. People are generally confused sheerly by how niche it is. Nevertheless, I feel that I
have been preparing for this throughout my whole high school career in regards to my
extracurricular. Having six art credits under my belt is often regarded as excessive by my peers
in a school like my own, but I firmly believe it is the most conducive route I could have chosen
for my future in regards to my secondary education. From an early age, I always had a
fascination with the world of nail polish. As a young girl the endless selection of colors and
gleaming finish left a mark on me. Being able to join my mother for her manicure appointments
was always a special treat that brought me an unfathomable level of joy. As I grew up I found
nail polish and nail art to be almost therapeutic for me. During high school my mom fell very ill,
while she was in the hospital and my dad worked long hours to pay the respective bills I found a
sense of comfort in blocking everything... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There must be a sense of intentionality in the products these companies produce. When every
aspect of a product s marketing and packaging has a specific purpose, it conveys passion and
thoughtfulness, it shows a devotion to the quality of the product. These are things I would have
never considered before taking art classes. I believe that the lessons I have learned in art
throughout high school have helped me become a better designer and creator. They have taught me
to not put something out there until I am proud of the work I have created, and I believe these
skills will be incredibly conducive to succeeding in the

Hemingway s Love Life Rough Draft Essay
Throughout his years, various women had walked into the famous writer Ernest Hemingway s
life. Yet these same women never remained with Hemingway for long and soon enough walked
out on him, with the exception of his last and final wife. Thus the love life of Ernest Hemingway
proved to be a complex one. However the time each woman had spent with Hemingway did not
simply end with their break ups; instead the women s brief relationship with Hemingway served
to be a great source of inspiration for the famous writer. As a result, Hemingway s depiction of
women in his literary works was influenced and inspired by these various women in his life.
Hemingway s first love interest who proved a successful source of inspiration was the U.S. Red...

The two having met at a party of a mutual friend, Hemingway married the 29 year old only a year
after meeting one another. The new couple moved to different locations such as Paris, France so
Hemingway could continue with this ambitious writing career; afterwards the couple moved
back to the Western hemisphere with the birth of their first son, John Bumby Hadley Nicanor,
in 1923. Hadley had continued to keep up with her husband s strenuous and active lifestyle;
Hadley eventually inspired Hemingway to write The Sun Also Rises. As explained by Miriam
B. Mandel s Journal of Modern Literature, Hemingway recounted such events with Hadley and
their time together in the book: Hadley accompanied Ernest to the bullfights in the summers...
The boy with the wine, the drunk Civil Guards, the lost tickets, and the detail of Hadley and the
bull s ear are all biographically accurate. Unlike Brett Ashley, Hadley kept the bull s ear given to
her. Hemingway soon had an affair with fashion owner Pauline Pfeiffer in 1924, which led to
the divorce with Hadley two years later. However before leaving Hemingway s life forever,
Hadley became an inspiration again for Hemingway for Death in the Afternoon which was written
after the he had married Pfeiffer. His description of Hadley is affectionate and admiring , as noted
again by Mandel. (Journal of Modern Literature, JSTOR) Having divorced

The Role Of Modern Nationalism And The Middle East
In this essay I will be discussing the role of modern nationalism and how this ideology affected the
transition from colonial rule to independence in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, as well as the
problems that plagued them since 1945, and how these different nations have solved them. I will be
specifically concentrating on the nations of India, Algeria, and Iran. In the wake of World War Two,
the power of Asian nationalism was irrepressible. Many new nations emerged all throughout this
massive continent. Even though these various nations are different in many ways the way in which
they came together hold true. Everywhere Asian nationalists rallied their people against colonialism
and imperialism brought on by the various countries... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although this was a problem, it was fairly brief. Since India gained their independence, the
country has faced many problems. These problems include ethnic and religious conflict, poverty
and overpopulation. These problems have been attempted to be solved by the Indian
democracy. For example, The prime minister, Indira Gandhi (1966 77 1980 84) embarked on the
green revolution this increased agricultural yields for India s eight hundred million people. This
solved problems of poverty for a short period of time, this is because India has one of the fastest
growing populations in the world. Gandhi realized this and took stringent action by calling for a
state of emergency form 1975 77. During this time period she imposed very repressive birth
control policies, even involuntary sterilization. Over eight million people were sterilized in an
effort to control the overpopulation problem. This was not the end of India s problems though, in
1980 the religious divide proved to be a deadly one. Gandhi took it upon herself to fix the
problem, ordering the army to attack a sacred temple which harbored Sikh extremists. She did this
all because this particular religion wanted more autonomy in the Punjab region of India. A short
time later she was assassinated by two of her

Reflection Of The Camino
The Camino Day 1: We left the College on Saturday, the 6th of May. The flight departed at 11:45
and we didn t arrive at Biarritz until 2:50. Then we got a bus from the airport to St Jean Pied de
Port, a small village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains. When we got to St Jean, I was taken
aback by the town. It was a mixture of old streets and building from centuries ago and modern
roads and shops. We had a mass in the local parish before we got to explore the town. It was late
by then so most of the shops were closed, but you still got a feel for the town as we strolled down
the narrow streets. A parade was commencing when we were wandering around that was
celebrating the Basque Region s heritage. They were dressed in their traditional clothes and were
waving the Basque flag. I didn t know about the Basque Region s fight for independence before
then but Mr. Mccormack explained it to me. To greatly simplify it, the citizens of the Basque
Region believe they shouldn t be members of France and Spain because they have their own
traditions, customs and lifestyles that oppose those of the French and Spanish. After exploring the
town we returned to the hotel, reflected on the day, ate dinner, and then went to bed. Day 2: The
second day involved a lot more work than the first. It was also the day we officially started the
Camino. It was a bit different going from sleeping on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

affects not just them but the whole school. Legislation is constantly reviewed and therefore you

importance of more integrated services and sharing the information between appropriate
professional parties. Every Child Matters was written after the tragic Victoria Climbie case, where
unfortunately no communication was passed between her health and social workers, which led to
her tragic death. The Data Protection Act 1998 ensures that all information gathered at the schoolfor
each child is always confidential. This can be from telephone numbers, medical records

Comparison of Java, JavaScript, Java Applets and Java Beans
Introduction Starting back in the early 1990 s with the introduction of Java to the computer
scene there has been many updates and advances in how languages interact with web based
programs. In this paper we are going to highlight several areas of several different Java flavors.
The flavors we are addressing are Java, JavaScript, Java Applets and JavaBeans. We will discuss
their history, features, usage and syntax and finally follow up with a chart providing a comparison
of the different Java architectures.
History
Java, a language based on C++, was developed by James Gosling and colleagues at Sun
Microsystems in the early 1990 s. (Java programming language, n.d.) It was ... Show more content

JavaScript was commonly used to manipulate images and document contents. There were early
issues with JavaScript; security flaws, lack of development tools and often criticized for being
too unlike Java, or too much like Perl. (Champeon, 2001) However, JavaScript took on a life all
its own and in some circles was written off due to its simpleness, its security flaws and to some
extent because it could only be tested within the browser environment.
A Java Applet is a small program written in Java, which can be downloaded to any computer.
The applet is usually embedded in an HTML page on a Web site and can be executed from
within a browser. JavaSoft, the current name of the company which oversees the development of
the Java language, was founded in January of 1996, and a few months later released the Java
Development Kit (JDK) version 1.0. (Youmans, 1997) The concept of an applet came out of the
creation on the Java language. It enabled users to produce programs named applets which could be
transmitted and run over the Internet, a somewhat different end product from what was originally
envisioned back at the beginning of the decade. (Youmans, 1997) Java Applets came about as a
requirement for adding functionalities to HTML documents,

The Importance Of American Sign Language
The assumption of the general public is American Sign Language, or ASL, is just for deaf and
hard of hearing people. People who are mute also use ASL. This includes people who are on the
spectrum, deaf and people who have trauma to the area of the body required to speak. For this
reason, I believe that ASL, or American Sign Language, need to have more of a presence in schools.
Previously hearing, I am able to write from the perspective of a hearing and a hard of hearing

The highest part of the social class structure was the emperor. Emperors had to ability to have
multiple wives and many slaves to assist with their everyday needs and wants. The advisors
were next; they helped the emperor make decisions. They could also make decisions if the
emperor was not there. The middle of the class system was the generals, nobles and workers. If
someone was educated they could become a scholar official and is the most thriving social
ranking but were still under the rank of nobles and generals. Scholar officials were the most
attainable social status for and regular citizen. Last were the artists and peasants. They were at
the bottom of the social structure and had the largest number of people. They were the common
people who were abused and treated unjustly by the government and soldiers. Artists were more
respected in society than peasants because rich people liked artist s company and got paid for
their services. Slaves were to serve all upper social classes, which was everyone. Rich families

Feminism In The Bloody Chamber
The Bloody Chamber is a collection of short stories written in 1979 by Angela Carter during a
time known as second wave feminism. Carter s work was highly influenced by the genre of fairy
tales, Carter has been quoted saying her stories in The Bloody Chamber are stories about fairytales
in order to show what is wrong with them. Carte writes within and against fairy tales by this it is
meant that she both conforms to some of the conventions of the genre and deliberately deviates
from them purposely to illustrate her points.
Fairy tales are one of the many types of folklore that generally have some sort of fantastic element,
usually featuring magic, imaginary creatures, and often a conflict between sides that are clearly
good and evil. Within ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chamber the endings end with the heroine having gone through a painful transformation and
coming out the other side empowered and liberated from their oppression. However it is
important to understand that these problems faced by heroine are not solved by magic like
traditional fairy tales even though there are elements of the fantastic present. However the
elements of fairy tales Carter has conformed to is the hardships faced by the heroine. Poverty was
a clear hardship face by the heroine in The Bloody Chamber and at the end of the story she
overcame her oppression but still chose a life without the riches deviating from the norms of a fairy

The Main Elements Of Society For Aristotle And Plato
Provence Barnouin10/14/16
Prof. Hittinger
Contemporary Civilization: Idea Paper 1
Households (or families) are one of the key elements of society for both Aristotle and Plato. Family
is the first form in society of association between men as it answers man s natural needs, and
instincts. As Aristotle explains, the coupling which necessity gives rise [to] is that between those
who are unable to exist without one another, in other words man is a being that is, by nature, social
and political. Association is a natural phenomenon, which declines in interdependent forms such as
the family, the village, and finally the city. However, it would be an error to assume that each form
is not fundamentally different from one another. In Politics, Aristotle criticizes Platos assumption
that a city must strive to be a unit, because beyond a certain point, city will be reduced to family
and family to individual. [Book II, 1261a] Indeed, if a city state were to strive towards unity it
would resemble a household, since he holds the household to be of higher degree in unity, but by
assumption, a city state is different that a household.
By uncovering and comparing the differences between the city and the household in Politics, Ethics
and The Republic, we will first explain Aristotle s criticism and Plato s potential response to his
student. This will lead us to understand the relationship between the city state and the household
and explain whether the family is a natural

The Theme Of Social Class And Order
The Underlying Theme of Social Class and Order
In literature, themes are carefully interwoven with other aspects of the story and are slowly
unraveled as the plot advances to reveal to bigger picture. Authors use themes as a method to
connect with their audience on a personal and relatable level. Each individual interprets the theme
in their own manner depending on the past experiences they have had. Similarly, each author brings
a sense of individuality and authenticity to their works, impacting their subject matter and area of
focus, in this case specifically the theme. The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is a science fiction
novel in which the Time Traveller traverses the time dimension to the year 802,701 AD. He then

An author s background is a prime factor in the subject of a book. H.G. Wells humble upbringing
and political beliefs can easily be discerned through the writing. Wells grew up in poverty during
the late 19th century in Kent, Great Britain, causing him to become interested in class conflict. His
socialist views come across in The Time Machine as it is his way to show the consequences of
excessive capitalism, thus the theme of social class and order emerges. Wells uses evolution as a
form to vindicate and reason the extreme schism of classes present in the book. The Time
Traveller, which seems to be an extension of Wells persona, implies the exclusive tendency of
richer people [...] and the widening gulf between them and the rude violence of the poor was a
key factor in the splitting of the human species along class lines, a direct hit on capitalism
(Wells 62). The Elois or the Haves , live aboveground the in comforts of their realm, while the
Morlocks or the Have Nots reside underground, as a result of the [continual adaptation] to their
conditions of their labour (Wells 63). The Time Traveller continue to explore the future realm s
social order, discovering the radical differences between each class. For instance, the Eloi are
focused on beauty and comfort, and are content on living upon the labours of fellowman , while the
Morlocks assumed the role of the worker, relying on instinct and primitive desires (Wells

  • 2. Examples Of Ecology In The Bible atmosphere just one square inch in cross section weighs about 14.7 pounds . This only shows that the Bible has already stated facts long before scientists confirmed them. Another field of science, Ecology, was spoken of in the online article History of Ecology as a new science, having only become prominent in the second half of the 20th Century . Although this much is true, it is quite evident that even before this field of science came into actuality, ecologically related passages already existed in the Bible. It may sometimes be taken for granted but as Cole describes it in her article Ecology and the Bible , in essence, to a Christian, ecology can reveal more about the beauty and wonders of God s creation . A few good examples of ecologically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 25, And took off their chariot wheels, that they drove them heavily:... They found numerous wheels some were still on their axles, and some were off. They found chariot cabs without the wheels covered by corals. So far, this coincided with the Biblical account. They found several 6 spoked wheels, as well as an 8 spoked wheel. And finally, in 1988, Ron found the 4 spoked gold chariot wheel, which looked almost perfect. The reason this was so well preserved is that coral does not grow on gold. The wood inside the gold veneer was deteriorated, which made it very fragile and for that reason, he has not attempted to retrieve it from the water. Many people question the Bible because of evidences that they claim not written in the Bible, for example the existence of dinosaurs. The reason why dinosaurs are not written in the Bible is because the word dinosaur was coined by Sir Richard Owen in 1841. These enormous creatures where popularly called as dragons. In the article Forbidden History: Dinosaurs and the Bible it is stated that The dragon, no doubt, has been romanticized down through the ages, but when you look back into the historical records of nearly every culture in the world you find stories about men seeing and killing ... • 3. Academic Advising Virtual Team The team that I would like to discuss going virtual would be the Academic Advising team at Baker College. The newly designed virtual team would be answering all student questions by email, phone or chat. Academic Advisors work from home; the position would be completely remote. An economic advantage of this virtual teamfor Baker College would be the decrease in office supplies (paper, ink, office space and shredding services). Communications between the team members would be the first strategy to be developed. Email would be the primary communication method. Training for staff happens prior to the professional advising team going live virtually. Brought together for training, employees would have the opportunity to build social relationships with each other as well as the leader (Katzenbach Smith, 2013). All staff have the opportunity to share best practices or better ways to complete tasks and communicate moving forward. Team members can share with the leader ways to improve so they can collaborate on new processes that are more efficient as the virtual team develops (Katzenbach Smith, 2013). Future communications outside of in person trainings, which are twice a year, would be weekly team update emails. A weekly team update email is implemented rather than... • 4. The Epidemic Of Fake Accounts The online anonymity issue that arose ever since the internet had the ability to create profiles has grown to a something much re than some face every day. Millions of fake accounts engulf us while feeding us untrustworthy texts without even knowing. These fake accounts have the most privileges when the secret of who the really are is never released. Having anonymityon social media gives users some sort of safety cape to be able to possibly say whatever they feel. Some people take this tool and use it negatively while others ignore it or even may use it positively. The epidemic of fake accounts taking over the internet has been questioned to have an effect on those creating it and how they may act differently thanks to having anonymity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This tool of anonymity can be used in a positive or negative way. Some may use it for stating what they feel freely while other abuse the ability by using it against others. If viewers do not know who is behind the accounts, they cannot make any logical judgments simply due to lack of information about the profile. Because of the leeway anons have online, their behavior is lead to be less restricted and more unbounded. Imagine being online under a fake name (or no name at all) and freely stating your thoughts on the recent presidential campaign. The anonymous cape you gain from having a hidden profile allows users to be more confident in their opinions their posting (Palme 3). Sure, it could upset viewers or even be relatable on the other side, but no one would know that you were the one behind that statement. It is almost as if what is being said anonymously is protected, so it does not matter what you say! Being able to go online anonymously has its positives and negatives. Users hiding behind these anonymous accounts seem to have a boost of confidence online when they know that their identity is unknown. On the other hand, bad anonymity has become somewhat famous on social media. Bullying, and so called catfishing both assist bad anonymity into getting its name categorized into untrustworthiness. Marketing Development And The Telecommunications Industry TEOCO, The Employee Owned Company, was founded in 1994 by Atul Jain as an S corporation under the original name of Strategic Technology Group. The original focus of this company was to provide a high quality level of consulting regarding IT projects and some of their first customers were large names such as Mobil, Freddie Mac, and many more. In March of 1998, after three years of operations, the name of the companywas changed to TEOCO and Atul Jain made the decision to shift the company s focus to product development and the telecommunications industry. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Major Activities One major activity of TEOCO is cost management solutions, which include payable processing and invoice automation. This allows TEOCO to comply with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, which requires every company to have a reliable reporting system. According to the case, communication service providers can lose anywhere from five to fifteen percent of gross revenue to revenue leakage (p. C 300). It is seen from the tables located in Appendix 2 that the main competitors TEOCO has in cost management are Razorsight, Connectiv, as well as Subex. Revenue assurance, another major activity of TEOCO, deals with this issue by using their SONAR solution to find billing discrepancies and fraudulent behavior and help discover customer usage patterns. By being able to bring more awareness to these issues, their amount of revenue leakage is drastically reduced. The competitors in this area are the same ones from cost management, with the addition of Wedo and cVidya. Least cost routing is TEOCO s third and smallest major activity and comes with competitors such as Pulse Networks, Global Convergence Solutions, and Telarix (p. C 300 301). TEOCO uses routing solutions to help companies conclude the best route between two customers while also examining service quality and cost. Discovering and understanding that these are their major activities helps TEOCO understand their place in the industry and how to use it to their advantage moving forward. ... • 6. Dr. Archie Logan Church History Essay Church History Notes: Compiled by Dr. Archie Logan Reflecting on the notes of Church History by Dr. Archie Logan, I am in agreement with the persecution of Christians in the early church as well as in the church today. In my opinion, Christians have been harassed constantly for their faith, which leads me to the Book of Psalm 119:86, All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for men persecute we without cause (NIV). The Christians of the early church (OT) were harassed for asserting God s truths, commands also adhering to them. There was much suffering endured by the Jews because of their refusal to embrace idolatry. Looking at this ministry in the world today it s much the same; Christians standing on the Word of God, living holy are the ones who get passed over, talked about also treated badly due to their faith also those proclaiming the gospel (Logan 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Under these circumstances, the Roman s (Patriotism) wanted the Christian worship to involve that of the emperor. In reality, those of the Christian faith refused any part of uniting with that of the emperor. Instead, the Christian faith remained unmovable to their loyalty to Christ, dismissing any compromising with heathenism. As a result, persecution brought about a change that produced true witness of Christian faith, preserving true doctrines of the work of Christ (www.bibleresearcher.com). • 7. The Large Regulatory Subunit The large regulatory subunit PriL The large subunit (PriL) of the primase is a regulatory, non catalytic subunit, where its exact role is still undefined. Nonetheless, PriL, and in particular PriL C terminal domain (PriL CTD), has been shown to have an essential role at the initiation stage of primer synthesis, but not during the extension step. In fact, it is an essential gene in yeast. It has also been inferred that PriL CTD, is involved in the primase counting mechanism (p58 .counting..). The PriL CTD has an iron sulfur cluster which seems to play a structural role in conserving the correct three dimentional structure of the CTD (Agarkar et al. 2011 ; Sauguet et al. 2010 ; Vaithiyalingam et al. 2010 ). To date, the structure of PriL has not been solved in its integrity. Instead, substructures of a C terminally truncated version of PriL (PriL О”CTD) have been solved in archaea and human (....). In addition, the structure of PriL CTD has been reported for both yeast and human. In fact, two crystal structures were reported for the human p58C (C terminal domain of the human large subunit) (.....). In both archaeal and eukaryotic primases, PriL CTD exhibits a similar structure consisting of two main domains; PriLО± and PriL SBD. • 8. Summary Of Power Dynamics In Bronte s Jane Eyre Power dynamics in BrontГ« s Jane Eyre have been examined in a multitude of ways, including the centralisation of slaves and masters (Zonana), and Dupras reading of the importance of economic status and depravity. However, this critical response will focus on how the ultimate form of power, and therefore the formation of power dynamics, stems from Jane s position as an unreliable, biased narrator. The extract from chapter twenty seven, wherein Rochester tells Jane about Bertha s voyage and confinement to Thornfield, ultimately displays how Jane as the narrator challenges the influence of masculinity, and how power structures are superimposed by female narrativevoice. Similarly, how Jane s voice furthers power imbalances between her and Bertha, as well as how she holds power over the readers impressions of these characters. It can be argued that Jane s narrative voice within the extract challenges Rochester s pre existing masculine power, and thus elevates the experiences of women in society. This is shown through Rochester s display of bigamy later in the extract; Jane narrates an arguably accurate account of Rochester s speech, lamenting he was convinced that I could and ought remarry. BrontГ« s use of language such as convinced gives connotations in this instance of male entitlement, as Rochester refuses to acknowledge or follow the known law. Similarly, the use of ought gives insight into Rochester s views of his own superiority; arguably, he believes he has a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Five Characteristics Of A Civilization What is a Civilization; Final Essay Civilization. What exactly is a civilization? Well, I know one thing that we can agree on; A civilization is made up of five characteristics. Those five characteristics include Complex Institutions, Advanced Cities, Record Keeping, Advanced Technology, and Specialized workers. Due to those five characteristics, a civilization is a place of safety for a certain religious or ethnic group of people. Not only is it usually safe because of those five characteristics, it is also a secure living area with its own form of government. Why do so many of us believe this? Take a look around. There are many places and were many places that, for the most part, stuck together with a singular ethnicity or religion. Within the next few paragraphs, I am going to explicate how certain civilizations, or how civilizations in general, are impacted in growth and development by geography, how the human rights are defined in certain civilizations, and what the effects of human interaction over time both positively and negatively affect a civilization. The geography within an area impacts both the development and growth of a civilization positively and negatively. For example, there is the Nile, in Egypt. When the Nile s floodwaters were just a few feet lower than normal, the amount of fresh silt was greatly reduced. Thousands of people starved. (Africa packet, pg. 36) As the text states, thousands of people died due to the surrounding geography. This; ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Sharon Bryant Interview Paper The person who I choose to interview for this paper is my grandmother Sharon Bryant (nГ©e Kimple), and the main reason I chose to interview her was that I really did not know much about her life story and wanted to learn more. Currently she is 72 years old, and lives in Vancouver, Washington with her husband of 52 years Allan Bryant. She has been retired for the past two years and enjoys spending her free time quilting and sewing, and does not have any major medical issues aside from a few allergies. Sharon was born March 27th 1943 in Glendale, California. For the first couple years of her early childhood her motherwas working while her father was a photographer and a Seabee (construction worker) until the end of World War 2. She first met her father when she was four years old. Her father struggled with PTSD when he got back and Sharon described him as intelligent and nice, but could become very mean and angry, and that she was to be seen but not heard. Sharon is the older of two sisters and spent a lot of time helping raise them as both her parents owned businesses with her mother owning a catering company and her father a paint strainer manufacturing business. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Destroying The Earth If you were informed at a young age that you must reside in the same house until you pass away, would you lead a lifestyle that results in the destruction of your only permanent shelter? Would you shatter the windows, smash the appliances, and wreck the structure almost to a point of no return? Your answer to these questions would most likely be no, because any logical person would see the absurdity in irresponsibly ruining the one place you are confined to for your entire life. Why, then, does the humanrace have such difficulty applying this same concept on a larger scale? Why do we struggle to realize that the collective choices we make affect our surroundings in a monumental way? Why do we not take the utmost care in preserving the only home we have ever known? If Earthis the sole place in which living organism can dwell, why are we are steadily destroying it? The simple answer to these questions is that people naturally have difficulty fathoming what does not physically manifest. If an issue is not concrete, heated debate over its legitimacy ensues. Even so, the deeply concerning problem with waiting until the impact of our decisions is visibly apparent is that it will be too late to reverse the effects by then. Environmental catastrophes triggered by the actions of humankind are already creeping up on our world like a sluggishly approaching grim reaper, and we need to take the initiative to ensure our longevity and safety. Gram Negative Unknown Lab Report Gram Negative Unknown Lab Report April Smith August 1, 2014 Unknown 20 Abstract The bases of this experiment was to discover the identify of the unknown from three possible specimens: Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter aerogenes. Utilizaing the T streak technique, the bacteria was isolated into pure colonies for further study. The Gram Stain method was used to identity the morhphology of the bacteria such as the shape and whether the bacteria was Gram positive or Gram negative. Biochemical test were also used to help identify the unknown bacteria. The biochemical test used was the Triple Sugar Iron Agar, Sulfur Indole Motility test, Methyl Red test, Voges Proskauer test, Citrate test, Urease test, and the Gelatin test. After observing the morphology of the bacteria using the Gram Stain method and utilizing all the possible biochemical test, the bacteria was identified to be Enterobacter aerogenes. Introduction Gram negative and gram positive bacteria differ from each other in many ways especially in the composition and size of their cell walls. Unlike Gram positive bacteria, Gram negative bacteria have a thin peptidoglycan layer surround by an outer membrane. This outer membrane contains many proteins one of them being lipopolysaccharides (LPS), which contributes to the bacteria s negative charge. Most of what is done in criminal justice is based on criminological theory. There are three main types of criminological theory: classical and neoclassical theories, positivist theories, and critical theories. • 17. Virtue Ethics And The Moral Life Virtue ethics is concerned with the traits of character that make one a good person. Virtue ethics seems to be more personal because it is not about choosing which side of an issue one would prefer to take part in, but the kind of person one wants to be. A virtuous person is considered to be a morally good person, and virtues are good traits. For virtueethics, the moral life is about developing good character. Aristotle was one of the earliest writers to ground morality in nature, and specifically in human nature. For Aristotle, virtue was an excellence of some sort. According to Aristotle, there are two types of virtues: intellectual virtues and moral virtues. Intellectual virtues are excellences of the mind, such as the ability to understand, reason, and judge well. These traits can be learned from teachers. Moral virtues on the other hand, dispose us to act well. These virtues cannot be taught, and they are learned by repetition. Aristotle s list of virtues includes courage, temperance, justice, pride, and magnanimity. However Aristotle is probably most well known for his position that virtue is a mean between extremes. For example courage is to be understood as a mean between the two extremes of deficiency and excess. Too little courage is cowardice, and too much is foolhardiness. When we concern ourselves with virtue ethicsI don t think that there are any virtues that can be universalized because the character traits apply mainly to individuals. Some may say that ... Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicidefor incurable diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a patient without being sued in the future. The whole world relies on mass media because it is today s way of retrieving information about the world. The media can either make you or break you. In this case, the media made all people of color look like terrorists blaming them for actions of others. Muslims are blamed for 9/11, and even though William is not a Muslim, he is stereotyped as a terrorist because of his physical features. For example the invisibility of Native Americans in mass media provides a unique vantage point for examining how media representations impact both identity and self understanding (Leavitt) which means whenever you do see a Native American on media, they are most likely shown as 19th or 18th century figures. Or they are stereotyped as poor, uneducated, and prone to addictions (Leavitt) but in this case William is the exact opposite, yet he still gets stereotyped as a different race because he does not meet the requirements for his own race. Not only is William stereotyped but so is Fekadu, William s taxi driver. Fekadu is a Muslim Oramo member from Ethiopia, yet people think [he is] black, they don t see [him] as a terrorist, only as a crack head addict on welfare. Once again we are seeing someone being misjudged by their physical appearance even though they are nowhere near the misinterpretations. • 20. `` The Cradle Of Freedom `` By Nathaniel Philbrick Samuel Adams once said, It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. In Bunker Hill, Nathaniel Philbrick chronicles how the conflagration of the American Revolution would erupt from the embers of the past focusing on the great impact that those involved in the infamous battle for which the book is titled and the battle itself would have on the colonies and their fight for liberties. This is a vivid bildungsroman for the city of Boston, teeming with new thoughts and ideals, that would face internal conflict, which would later give the city the title the Cradle of Freedom. 1 Setting aside the legends of the revolution, Philbrick presents not only a historic event in American history, but also the subtle, essential moments that are not limited to 1775 but are the underpinning mechanics of overthrowing a regime that are essentially the same today as they were in the eighteenth century; however, focusing on our mythic Founding Fathers, many overlook the true nature of the war that is present in every revolution.2 Unlike the hackneyed stories told to us as children on the Fourth of July, the American colonies were not victims to an overly oppressive, malevolent motherland thousands of miles away. Human potential is a concept that was introduced by early personality theorists many years ago, and it implies that as humans, we have an innate tendency toward personal growth and development, and under the right circumstances, this tendency will lead us to actualize our potential and become all that we can be (Deci, Ryan, Guay, 2013, p. 109). In other words, each and every person has their own inner potential, and it just takes the right conditions to realize it. According to the self determination theory, full functioning involves individuals having access to and using all of their capacities for experience, connection, and proactivity (Deci, Ryan Guay, 2013, p. 110). The term full functioning is used in this theory to refer to self actualization. Full functioning is characterized by being aware and mindful, pursuing and attaining intrinsic life goals, and obtaining inner peace and quiet (Deci, Ryan, Guay, 2013, p. 110). In order to reach a level of full functioning, according to the self determination theory, there are three basic psychological needs that must be fulfilled in order to perform the behaviors that are related to full functioning. These needs are universal and are essential for psychological well being. They include competence, relatedness, and autonomy(Deci, Ryan, Guay, 2013, p. 111). • 27. Education, Gender Roles And Humanism Education, Gender Roles and Humanism in the Renaissance. Throughout the fourteenth and into the fifteenth century there were a number of tragic events that directly caused a revitalization of society. This revitalization was needed to restore hope to the people that were living each day for survival. Some of these events were the destabilization of the Catholic Church with the relocation of the papacy from Rometo Avignon. This would soon be followed by the Black Death and its mammoth death toll that lead to the reduction of work forces and uprisings of peasants . At the same time England and France were fighting a series of wars that were later be deem The Hundred Years War and this battle would add to a western mindset that was being cultivated to expect death, destruction, violence, sickness and poverty. In the midst of this depressing and violent society, Italy and more specifically Florence, saw a need for change and to work towards the elevation of society, the creation of a new society, and a new mindset to bring about a more civil and cultured society. This lead to a new philosophy called Humanism and this Humanistic evolution of the educational system involved a total reconstruction of the university curriculum, as well as the resetting ideals of gender roles. (Kutner, Olsen, 2008) I am going to ask you to look deeper than this. I assert that although violent video games are thought to encourage real world violence, they actually help to prevent it. Level 1: What Games Can Do For You Video game violence does not cause youth violence and in fact may help to curb this violence. Violent video games have never been proven to cause youth violence. One of the most looked at franchises in video game history is Grand Theft Auto (GTA). However, since GTA hit the scene in a big way in 2001, youth violent crime has actually decreased! (Snyder, Sickmund, 2006) By 2003 the GTA franchise had already sold 22 million copies worldwide since the release of GTA III in 2001. (Take Two Interactive, 2004) GTA games have violence, prostitution, and offensive language. I believe that allowing adolescents to play these games works as a method of relaxation and release of stress. Teens and violence have gone hand in hand for years. In the 1990s youth violence hit an all time high. (Snyder, Sickmund, 2006) Since the release of GTA III we have seen a decrease in youth violence. • 37. Native American Civilization Of Native Americans As soon as the colonists set foot on the land of the Americas, they were building and growing crops on land that originally belonged to the Indians, also known as Native Americans. Already having lost land to the white settlers, some tribes dreaded the news of the revolutionary war against the British, as they were afraid that the American Revolution would lead to more loss of land. Another reason may be linked to the idea of a noble savage. Some settlers, such as Thomas Jefferson believed that Indians could vindicate themselves if they lived and adapted to the ways of the white man. The Indians were not interested in this white way of life and wanted to continue living with their own traditions and culture. They did not want to be taught Jefferson s idea of civilization. Most indians stayed neutral during this war, but some did not. While the Cherokeetribe did not side with the British, the chief, Dragging Canoe, led the tribe in attacks against white settlements in the summer of 1776 in response to losing land to the white colonists. The Patriot Militia fought back and the chief and some of his followers had to retreat across the Tennessee River. The remaining Cherokee were left to a new treaty making them give up more land. The Iroquois tribe declared neutrality in the war, but Iroquois members still joined the British. Two of these members were Joseph and Mary Brant. The Importance Of Perfluorooctanoic Acid ( Pfoa ) In the 1950 s DuPont, an American industrial conglomerate, started producing Teflon at its Washington Works Plant near Parkersburg, WV; a couple of hours southeast of Columbus, Ohio on the Ohio River. Teflon is a non stick coating commonly found on water resistant clothing, cookware, among other things. One of the main byproducts of Teflon is perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), more commonly known as C8. DuPont s Washington Works plant released C8 into the air as well as the Ohio River until 2001, at which point abnormally high levels of the acid were detected in drinking watersupplies throughout the river in Little Hocking, Ohio. The Little Hocking water system consists of five groundwater wells located immediately west (downstream) of the Ohio River and it took approximately 50 years for the C8 released into the Ohio River to reach the well fields. This is because contaminates were transferred via groundwater, which travels much slower than the river s surface water. However, once the C8 had infiltrated the wells, an estimated 70,000 people were exposed to contaminated water. Shortly after the harmful levels of C8 were detected in the well fields, exposure to C8 was linked to cases of kidney cancer, testicular cancer, ulcerative colitis, thyroid disease, pregnancy induced hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia. As a result, in 2005, customers of Little Hocking Water (LHWA) along with five other rural water systems (Lubeck Public Service District, West Virginia; City of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When Booth was born, his mother believed the flames in the fire spelled COUNTRY, and so she believed that he would have a great effect on America. Also, as a teenager, Booth had a fortune teller predict his future. When she looked at the may crossed lines on his palms she became worried and predicted he would die young but famous. Both of these prophecies were fulfilled in Booth s life. At the White House, just days before his assassination, Lincoln had a dream. In the dream, he had died been shot and killed and was lying in a large curtained coffin in the Green Room. This too came true. In response to these occurrences, I cannot really judge whether they are true or false. I generally consider supernatural events to be unlikely, though I would not deem them impossible. Considering the specific events in the story however, I believe the word in the flames and the supposed fortune actually specifically influenced Booth s life, instead of being signs of divine future seeing. • 50. The Main Elements Of Society For Aristotle And Plato Provence Barnouin10/14/16 Prof. Hittinger Contemporary Civilization: Idea Paper 1 Households (or families) are one of the key elements of society for both Aristotle and Plato. Family is the first form in society of association between men as it answers man s natural needs, and instincts. As Aristotle explains, the coupling which necessity gives rise [to] is that between those who are unable to exist without one another, in other words man is a being that is, by nature, social and political. Association is a natural phenomenon, which declines in interdependent forms such as the family, the village, and finally the city. However, it would be an error to assume that each form is not fundamentally different from one another. In Politics, Aristotle criticizes Platos assumption that a city must strive to be a unit, because beyond a certain point, city will be reduced to family and family to individual. [Book II, 1261a] Indeed, if a city state were to strive towards unity it would resemble a household, since he holds the household to be of higher degree in unity, but by assumption, a city state is different that a household. By uncovering and comparing the differences between the city and the household in Politics, Ethics and The Republic, we will first explain Aristotle s criticism and Plato s potential response to his student.
