The Social Changes And Political Revolutions
To begin with, The social changes and political revolutions are to be sought, not in men s brains, not in
man s better insight into eternal truth and justice, but in changes in the modes of production and
exchange by Engels. Basically what Engels s means by that is the materialist formation of history
starts from the scheme of the production and how exchanges of things are produced, and that is the
basis of all social structure. Fundamentally, as in every society it has emerged in history and it still is
happening that the manner in which wealth is distributed and how the society is divided into classes or
estates is dependent upon what is produced, and how it is produce, and how the products are
exchanged. And this is what that needs to be sorted out. Therefore, the mode of production is playing a
big role in today s society and also as it did back in the days. Everything is dependent; one person is
dependent on other in this society. Moreover, society is divided into two groups; one group is whom
who are ruling over the other group by taking his/her rights; capitalism is playing its role. Moreover,
changes in the productive forces are more powerful cause of revolution. In conclusion, Engels takes an
historical materialist approach. He indicates that the capitalist mode of production is fundamentally
contradictory and from this he traces a series of social and economic conflicts that follow inevitably
from this basic contradiction by establishing Historical

Mobile Programming And The Market Needs Mobile Developers
Assignment 1
Nansi Surlekova, Student ID: 13006763
Section 1
It is noticeable that the market needs mobile developers. Recently, mobile programming has grown
10 times faster than desktop programming. Even though this is going on and on for years now and a
lot of people started participating in this area of business, there is still place for more. After
researching a few websites for job opportunities I came across 3 interesting posts.
The first job is about a Junior Mobile Application Developer. The posts states that you will be
mentored, but still, you need to have enough experience so you can manage things on your own. The
skills required for this position are as expected: A working knowledge of .NET, C#, Java, HTML5, ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As you can see I am going up, one step at a time. The requirements for this position are longer than
the whole information given in the two previous posts. Do you have at least 5 years professional
software development experience? No. Do you have at least 3 years professional Android
development experience? No. You should have experience in almost every field that is connected in
some way with mobile development, examples are: Java, Android SDK, Eclipse ADB, Knowledge of
Android specific UI patterns and affordances, IOS, PHP, JQuery etc., oh and let s not forget about the
degree in computer science. So if we say that you become a Junior developer, wait a few years, then
go up to just being a developer and take your life in your hands by reading books and coding more
than you breathe, yes, you might be able to apply for a position like that in about 30 years.
The chart below sums up the main skills that are required in order to launch your career in Mobile
Development. How does that fit my skill set? Barely. But a good amount of time and effort can easily
fix that. An example of a way to start building up my skill set is by actually starting to work on an app.
At first thought it all seems scary, to be honest, but if a selected field interests you, everything can be
accomplished. Most required skills

Humans And Replicants In Ridley Scott s Blade Runner
Ridley Scott s 1982 Blade Runner presents viewers with a dystopian world of Los Angeles where
genetically engineered robots known as Replicants, are executed in an emotionless and indifferent
procedure called retirement by special police operatives called Blade Runners. The interactions
between humans and Replicants highlight the diminishing state of humanity that humans have brought
upon themselves. This is not only shown through the conflicting yet human ambitions of the
Replicants, but contrasted with the cold and gloomy depiction of humans as a whole. Humans are
additionally depicted to be ignorant of the many similarities between Replicants and themselves, often
due to a lack of empathy. These depictions of Replicants as a more emotionally attached species
prompt viewers to make a somewhat ironic conclusion: that they portray greater humanity than actual
humans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This yearning for success and identification is what drives human development and progression.
However, the humans of Blade Runner seem to not realise the importance of accomplishing goals.
Instead, it is the Replicants who portray a more human like mindset and the struggles of Roy Batty
and Pris for a lengthier time on Earth are followed throughout the novel. Roy is depicted as a strong,
handsome and intellectual man, and this gives the audience the sense that he is self aware and capable
of achieving goals. The recurring motif of eyes demonstrates the constant desire for self awareness,
for human identity. Both Replicants experience great hardship and go to extreme lengths to achieve
both goals. While they do not succeed, it is their attempt to conquer them is what makes them more

The Kidnapping Of Mauricio Research Paper
The kidnapping
It was a long day of school for Mauricio. He had gotten back a test from history that he flunked, and
then took another test in English that he felt he failed. Walking home in a slumber, he noticed an old,
clunky, white van with no windows. Clunk Clunk Clunk Clunk Clunk it would scream as it wobbled
along the road. Upon just a glance, Mauricio just knew that it was up to no good. With a sigh of relief,
he watched it pass him. Mauricio kept walking, relieved but still uneasy. He began to think of all his
homework that he needed to complete that night, and what video games he would play after.

The doctor walked him through his facility where he saw all the kids that had been operated on. They
would just sit in their cell empty eyed and dead inside. He knew that there would be no saving them
from whatever the doctor did to them. It looked as though they had been in their cells for weeks,
possibly even months.
As Mauricio slid his back along the cold chamber and the doctor locked the gate behind him, as he
heard the police arriving on scene. Suddenly the doctor sprang into action and ran up the stairs toward
the officers A calming reassurance passed over Mauricio and he began to think of how much he loved
his boring life at home. He missed his mom, dad, and younger sister, Ella. He thought of hugging

Resource Depletion And Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Lifecycle Analysis
Background
The content of analysis will examine paper. It will look at the harvesting of the materials, production,
distribution, and finally the waste. This lifecycle analysis is to explain a consumer product s life from
production to waste. This is to show the environmental effects that the products has during its life
time. A few of the environmental impacts that will be focused on is resource depletion and greenhouse
gas emissions. These were chosen because of the chain reaction they can cause. Greenhouse gases are
known to be linked to climate change, which is a global problem so the impacts of these emissions are
on a very large scale. Resource depletion is another problem because more than one species rely on
forest. Therefore, the depletion of it is not only bad to humans but the other organisms that use it for
their survival. If this resource was to be completely used up, then it could lead to a loss of biodiversity
which could be bad for the local ecosystem. In addition, since some ecosystems are linked together the
loss of one could have a huge effect on another causing a domino effect. LCA Inventory Trees are a
good source of paper; there are other materials that can work but for the scope of this paper I ll only
focus on trees. As described in figure 1, the first step is to harvest the trees. To do this, usually heavy
machinery or chainsaws are employed to do the cutting. But this process

Benefits of Cloning Essay
Benefits of Cloning
What if while walking down the street you encountered someone who looked exactly like you? Would
you stare in amazement or would your heart be filled with fear? At first some people may look upon
the idea of cloning with disgust and question themselves if humans should play God while others
would be interested and study the many possibilities that cloning offers. This illustrates the path that
cloning has taken over the latter part of the twentieth century. At first, when cloning was brought up in
conversations, people tended to fearfully think of an army of identical persons marching across the
earth in hopes of ruling humans. This and many other absurd notions of clones stem from science
fiction movies and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since then people think that biologists are cloning both human and other mammal s embryos only to
see how far they can push the scientific envelope, but in fact there are many legitimate reasons for
investigating cloning. Embryologists believe that research into cloning could help improve the life of
future generations. Cancer research is possibly the most important reason for embryo cloning they
argue. Oncologists believe that embryonic study will advance understanding of the rapid cell growth
of cancer. Cancer cells develop at approximately the same phenomenal speed as embryonic cells do.
By studying the embryonic cell growth, scientists may be able to determine how to stop rapid cell
division, and also stop cancer growth in turn (Hyde 15). Another important area of embryo cloning
research is embryonic stem cell development. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can develop
into almost any type of cell in the body. These cells are not attacked by a person s immune system,
because of their fast development and undifferentiated status (Wilmut 4). Many doctors believe that
these stem cells could be used in treatments for brain and nervous system damage.
Perhaps a more questionable use of cloned embryos is for spare parts and hormones. Production of
transgenic farm animals to make organs to transplant in humans with organ failure has been heavily
researched. Companies

The Shawl, By Cynthia Ozick
Between 1941 and 1945, over six million Jews were victims of the Holocaust, an attempt by the
German Nazis to exterminate the Jewish race. (Holocaust The Basics ). Adolf Hitler, the leader of
Germany, thought the Jews were the reason that Germany lost World War I (Jews in Nazi Germany
History Learning Site). Hitler blamed them for almost all of Germany s problems and he wanted to
exterminate the entire Jewish population. The Shawl , written by Cynthia Ozick, tells one of the many
horrifying stories from the Holocaust. The story has three main characters: the young mother Rosa,
her baby Magda, and her fourteen year old niece Stella. They were victims of the Holocaust who had
an awful experience in the Nazi concentration camps. Whenever the holocaust victims had to march to
different concentration camps, people who could not walk on their own in a line were shot on the spot,
including infants. Rosa protects Magda by hiding her in a magic shawl, but Stella selfishly takes away
the shawl, leading to Magda s death. Through the characters of Stella, Rosa, and Magda, Cynthia
Ozick shows the desperation and inhumanity that resulted when the Holocaust victims were denied of
their basic human rights. The Shawl is set late in World War II when the Allied forces were beginning
to penetrate into Germany itself. During the Holocaust, the Nazis denied the Jews basic human rights,
violating their rights to life, liberty, and property. Hitler said it was not enough for the Jews to

The Face Of Battle By John Keegan
John Keegan describes his book, The Face of Battle, as a personal attempt to catch a glimpse of the
face of battle. This personal aspect that Keegan mentions is essential to his book and is excellently
articulated, driving home his point. Keegan, who taught at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for
over 25 years, begins by acknowledging his uneasiness with the fact that even though he taught British
cadets military history, I have not been in a battle; not near one, nor heard one from afar, nor seen the
aftermath . . . And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle can be
like. Keegan is clear to state his proposition that almost all military history has functioned simply as a
battle piece description in which one can see all the larger moving aspects followed by the outcome.
However, this sort of recounting fails to acknowledge the personal side of war, the experience of
battle. What really ensues when a cavalry unit meets an infantry unit? What are the vital features in
determining whether soldiers stand and fight or turn and run?
Having proposed that military history has been failing in its duty, Keegan then continues to
demonstrate how it should be done. The battles of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme are the main
interests of the book; these battles took place centuries apart and all involved British armies. He
examines, in detail, which aspects of war changed or remain constant between the three battles.
Keegan brilliantly and

War Never Changes In Kurt Vonnegut s Slaughterhouse Five
War never changes, which is what gets described in the book Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
In the book, readers follow Billy Pilgrim a time traveling war victim who survived Dresden. War is
the worst thing a human can experience because there is nothing intelligent about it, it kills, and it
destroys beautiful things.
Every smart person has made at least one stupid decision in their life. Kurt Vonnegut has seen what
stupid decisions can lead to like the bombing of Dresden which is why he said there is nothing
intelligent to say about a massacre , and he s completely correct because what is there to say that could
be intelligent about a massacre. For example if someone would try to reason here s probably all they
could come up with, number one It was a good use of money no it wasn t no matter how it happened it
s still a lot of money to clean up,rebuild,or pay for the cost of ammunition or bombs, Number two It
allowed us to disrupt their plans and then what? That will only delay their plans till a later date unless
the person who disrupted them went in and took care of them, and three We killed some of the bad
guys , but there still a bunch of innocent people who the person do the bombing/shooting killed. ...

William Faulkner s The Golden Compass
The Golden Compass is a fantasy book of a series, called His Dark Materials. This is a book for
adolescents and teenagers. Some of the material would be hard for a younger minor to understand.
Adolescents and teens would find it more captivating as they can relate to experiences and thoughts of
the main character. Adults could be interested in this story with the fantasy twist, but would not really
understand as a younger audience would. I very much enjoyed reading it. The characters were
concrete. The fantasy of it was dazzling, at times scary, but still alluring. Yet, at times, it was hard to
follow. The book had shown me more that people are not always what they seem and to trust your
instincts. In the story, we are mainly from the perspective of an adolescent child named Lyra who
grew up in a college, known as Jordan. In this fiction, there are witches; polar bears that are called ice
bears, but the ice bears are like humans; Gobblers that kidnap kids; and every human being have a
soul that walks beside them know as daemons. After the Gobblers kidnap Lyra s best friend, Roger,
Lyra swears to rescue him and her Uncle Asriel. Who was imprisoned in the ice bears glacier fortress.

Literary Theories on Marxism
The three analytic paragraphs on the song Zombie, the essay entitled The Closing of the (North)
American Mind, and the documentary film Born Into Brothels showcase the literary theories on
Marxism, Post colonial criticism, and feminism. The paragraphs show how people struggle in their
own societies in different aspects, politically and socially. Because all three pieces show struggle in all
texts, the unifying theme is how people react and overcome the struggles that they face.

Another post colonial issue seen in the text was the issue of power dynamics. Being a colony of a
powerful empire, the colonized are subjects of the colonizers. Because of rising tensions between the
colonized and the colonizers, both are struggling to gain power and influence over the people. The
IRA, being the colonized, prevents the colonizers from gaining any more power in their land. The
colonizers, on the other hand, lose its influence and power over the colonized as the people became
more aware and active in the independence movement. The independence movement in Ireland started
in the 1920s, a period when the British Empire was starting to fall apart. The conflict between the two
warring factions had resulted into a bloodbath since the start of their resistance to the colonizers.
Because of the hatred against the colonizers, the oppressed colonized people fought back in order to
remove them physically and mentally out of their land. The power struggle between the two
belligerent nations had disrupted peace in the country, which resulted to many innocent deaths. This is
evident in the text when the resistance fighters and the colonizers are fighting with their tanks and
their bombs, and their bombs and their guns (O Riordan). War for power and influence had made
Ireland into a dangerous society where its people use force as a means of expressing their sentiments
against colonial rule. Issues in

The Doctrine Of Primal Sin Essay
Augustine on the doctrine of primal sin focuses on the downfall of Lucifer, and whether or not he
foreknew there would be consequences in turning away from God. However, it is arguable that Lucifer
did foresee his coming downfall. Because his intentional actions in turning away from God goes
against his angelic nature, which means he had to deliberately had to deprive himself of the greatest of
goods, and actively pursue misery. For Lucifer perversely chooses to abandon all that is good by
turning away from God, and towards what is contrary of Him, which is nothingness. That in which, on
behalf of Augustine, I will argue that Lucifer did foresee the coming of his downfall. For Lucifer
chose to bolster the vices of his will, which became the very means of degenerating his angelic nature.
Consequently, this means Lucifer intentionally pursued what is contrary to the God, thus leading to his
fall.
In behalf of Augustine, it is arguable that Lucifer foreknew his actions in rebelling against God was
going to bring about a particular consequence. For it is significant to understand the development of
the vices which enables Lucifer to fall. For Augustine explains in book 12, chapter 1; all Angels
recognize a common good in their nature which is to cleave to God. However, in order for Lucifer to
turn away from the divine graces of God, he must then deny his angelic nature. For the act of rejecting
his angelic nature, originates from the particular good bestowed by God. Because it

Motor Vehicle Safety Essays
Motor Vehicle Safety
Motor accidents are one of the leading causes of unintentional injuries in the United States. In the year
2000 the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that around 41,000
people were killed in traffic accidents within the United States. This mortality rate has since dropped
25% from 2000 to 2009 (Rockett et al., 2012). There are many reasons for motor vehicle injuries,
ranging from lack of seat belt use, elderly drivers, alcohol and young children being improperly
secured. All of these things factor into motor injuries differently and must be addressed as a separate
problem. Highway safety is an important issue in public health and many things have already been

programs. Programs such as Remove Intoxicated Drivers (RID) in 1978 and Mothers Against Drunk
Driving (MADD) in 1980. These programs were created by people personally affected by a accident
caused by drunk driving. Their focus is to prevent the loss of loved ones for other families. These
programs educate the public on the risks of DUI and promote safer driving and smarter choices.
MADD has even received support from alcohol companies because of their focus on the offender, and
not blaming the alcohol companies. Alcohol related highway fatalities in 1982 were at 57% of all

how to read literature like a professor or someone with his literary skill. . With all of these literary
strategies, symbolism is one that recurs frequently the throughout the entire book. Foster s use of

Cleansing rain can symbolize a change in someone. This change can be symbolized as a mental
awakening or change in a characteristic, big or small. Changes can include the way someone sees
themself or society. Liekt the lady in Song of Solomon , her cleansing rain washed away her false
ideal of beauty and left behind what beauty truly was. Cleansing rain can also symbolize becoming
stained , or having a negative change in a characteristic. This is through cleansing rain making a
puddle of mud created from this rain. Fog is also an event in weather that is symbolized. Fog
symbolizes confusion or a clouded mind. Characters may say that they have a foggy memory, meaning
they don t remember something that previously happened. Fog can also confusion. This is seen
through Scooby Doo, since a lot of the mysterious places that their gang visits re clouded by fog,
symbolizing the mysteriousness in where their location. Floods and rain aren t the only thing that is

Elizabeth I, Monarch Of England, And Marie De L ...
Elizabeth I, monarch of England, and Marie de l Incarnation, a French nun, both invoked God and
other forms of religious power to stake their claims to authority. Elizabeth s role as a queen came at a
time when her country was going through political turmoil. Marie s role as a missionary in New
France was to civilize the indigenous people. Although working to better their countries, both of these
writers are vastly different due to their social positions. While Elizabeth had the substantial task of
ruling over her country, Marie was serving her country as a missionary; however, both writers utilize
religion to accomplish their various duties.
Marie utilized her understanding of religion and the Native s understanding of religion to build a
relationship built on trust. She arrived in modern day Quebec in the late 1630 s as a missionary from
her country to educate and civilize the Natives there to match European traditions. Marie found
similarities with the indigenous people as even though they didn t have a God, they had their own
forms of worship. In Letter 65 to her son, she answers his questions regarding the Savages beliefs on
divinity. Certain ones adored the sun and offered its sacrifices. Others had recourse to certain spirits
who they said provided over the woods but all obeyed their dreams as a divinity (Marie, 368). Even

The Dangers of the Trenches Ww1
Introduction The Great War began in 1914 and lasted a gruelling 4 years. During this war, new and
powerful weapons were developed such as machinery, guns and heavy artillery. Soldiers had no choice
but to dig trenches, which were barely sustainable to live in, in order to protect themselves from the
constant enemy gunfire. They lived, ate, slept and fought in these trenches for the whole 4 years... In

While these soldiers are looking in good health, soldiers often became ill after eating the poorly
prepared food, which may carry parasites from water or unusual ingredients like plant weeds and mud
when rations fell terribly low. Health and Hygiene Soldiers in the trenches face some of the most
unhygienic environments known to man! The extent of the health problems is never fully understood.
This is primarily because they were censored and only the war survivors lived to tell the stories about
the problems. Some of the most obvious problems were the cold, mud and the harsh side effects of
rough sleeping. In winter, warm cups of team would freeze in a couple of minutes even if you took
your boots off! The mud from the poorly made British trenches coated clothing in just a few hours and
was rarely changed, leaving the body to bath in bacterial growth and sweat! In severe cases, one
solider spend 42 days of 1915 without removing his socks and boots. Some soldiers did sometimes do
this intentionally to get out of the front line fighting and even faced trench foot and risk of amputation
to escape the harsh environment. Body Lice One of many problems was body lice infestation within
the trenches which made life extremely difficult! One soldier said they were pale fawn in colour, and
they left blotchy red markings all over the body . They also left a vile smell. They

Disadvantages Of Communication
Case Study 2 Different type of message should be conveyed by using different strategies. There are
three main categories for communication method depending on its content (Communication
Strategies, 2017).
Type 1: Mass communication
Mass communication is the method of conveying message using online resource such as email,
newspaper and memos. It is considered as a cost effective medium since it allows all the participate to
receive the information with least cost. However, the disadvantages of this method are it is not
personal as the employee might ignore the message to get the information. There is no feedback for
the implementation of the method.
Type 2: Interactive Communication
This method requires feedback from the reader for interaction purpose. For example, the mediums for
interactive communication are email for Q A pages, online chats and online discussion. Employees
can ask questions using anonymous identity and this facilitates a two way communication where both
parties can receive the information needed. The few disadvantages are it is very time consuming and
ineffective to spread the information as the first method.
Type 3: Face to face communication
Face to face communication such as meetings, training session and forum allows the employees to
receive valuable information directly from in charge person such as managers. Similar to type 2, it is
also very time consuming and ineffective to spread the news to a large population in a shorter time and
lowest cost.
A communication strategy is developed as below to ensure that all staff work as a team towards
achieving goals organisational objectives.
1. Get all the employee involved by holding meeting and conducting annual employee survey.
2. Make employee updated by sending weekly email on company progress to each of them.
3. Keep the message to be transferred simple such as company notice and management arrangement to
make it effective as all the staff can easily understand and work towards it
4. Expose the complicated message to managers first then provide them with easy to implement
formats for bringing their teams together, with toolkits that include all the materials they ll need. This
can encourage their teams to develop

Character Development In The Call Of The Wild
Structures And Style Enhance Theme
Once you begin a book, you re thrown into a story. As you read you begin to see the true meaning of
the book. You see the theme. Character development shows you how the character progressed
throughout the story and changed to enhances the theme. Plot events show the character s reaction to
an event to enhance the theme. Setting puts the character in a place that they have to adapt to, which
helps bring out the theme. Although each book has its very own unique theme, all authors use
character development, plot events, and setting to express the theme. Character development is one
structure authors use to express the theme. In Call of the Wild Buck, a domesticated Scottish shepherd

And strange Buck was to him, for of the many Southland dogs he had known, not one had shown up
worthily in camp and on trail. They were all too soft, dying under the toil, the frost, and starvation.
Buck was the exception. He alone endured and prospered, matching the husky in strength, savagery,
and cunning. Then he was a masterful dog, and what made him dangerous was the fact that the club of
the man in the red sweater had knocked all blind pluck and rashness out of his desire for mastery. He
was preeminently cunning, and could bide his time with a patience that was nothing less than
primitive (London 28). This quote from Call of the Wild by Jack London shows the theme of
primitivity. Buck has endured what nature has thrown at him. He will fight for survival until he has no
more fight left in him. His transition from being domesticated to fending for himself, had brought out
the dormant instincts in him. There he d been, denying The Wave could hurt anyone, and at the same
time he d hurt Laurie, his own girlfriend, in the name of The Wave (Strasser). This quote from The
Wave shows the theme of power. David hit Laurie, his girlfriend. He felt it was within his power to
push Laurie out of danger. There was no one else but David s friend that was there. He wouldn t have
pushed her in school. Not being in school allowed him to push her without any consequences. The

Endotherm
Endotherm refers to animals that adjust core temperature by internal corrective mechanism such as
humans. Most of the endotherm keep their body temperature around 35°C to 40°C. The body
temperature is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre in the hypothalamus. The temperature
regulating centers are discovered in the preoptic area situated in the anterior portion of the
hypothalamus. The function of this area is to receive information from temperature receptors located
in the skin, mucous membranes and also from the central thermoreceptors that monitor the
temperature of blood that pass through the brain. The hypothalamic thermostat works with other areas
of the brain to maintain the core temperature. When human facing cold weather, our skin temperature
drops. This stimulates skin cold receptors. When The thermoregulatory centre is stimulated,
hypothalamic thermostat and higher cortical centers are received all those signals. The temperature
change in the blood activated the thermostat. It cause response to control temperature. First,
norepinephrine release from sympathetic fibers causing vasoconstriction so that less heat carried from

The dystopian element is similar to source #1 the host because they both have citizens who want to
take their world back. Within the movie Demolition Man the main character John Spartan choses to
lead a rebellion against the new government leader because of his unjust ways of living. John goes
down into the under living areas where people don t follow the rules up above and have their own way
of living. The sewer people consider John to be a blessing in disguise causing them to get riled up and
deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau. Demolition Man shows how citizens conform to uniform
expectations and rebel by the sewer people deciding to kill Dr. Raymond Cocteau the leader of the
normal world. This is also demonstrated in The Host when Melanie beings to take back her own body
and rebels against Wanda. The Sewer people in Demolition Man effect the society up above because
they take their food also show them their way of living by wearing whatever they want and doing
whatever they want. Inside the dystopian society another main character Simon Phoenix breaks many
laws also getting a small amount of people to follow him into battle against the above world. Simone
leads with John Spartan in order to get their city back to the way it was originally and towards the end
of the movie they succeed. After Simone kills Dr. Cocteau John leads the sewer people up from under
the world and shows them their new world they then begin to ignore all of the old laws and the
citizens from up above follow the new rules and many continue to join making their new world. This
finale act of rebellion shows how even small acts can lead to big changes. The dystopian element of
citizens conform to uniform expectations and rebel act as a bonding path of Demolition man and the
host as both main characters cause a rebellion so big that they end up

Year 10 Narrative
As I neared the back gates of St Aloysius College, I realised that very early morning, it was not a
normal and comparable year 9 school day. It was actually the first frightening, yet fascinating, day of
year 10. All nerves and thoughts considered, Mum pulled up to the carpark and I exited the car. My
school bag weighed as if I was carrying a pile of bricks inside of it, and yet this feeling is as familiar
as an old friend, it did not stop me from discovering my new year 10 class, only the nerves did.
After I strolled my way through the school, the year 10 building stood right in front of me. I walked

class!
About 10 minutes later, after a nice chat, the bell rang. I hugged Annabelle goodbye and started to
slowly make my way back to 10EB. I settled into my seat and I looked around the classroom. I noticed
some new faces that I had never seen before around St Aloysius College. However, there was one face
I did not see, and that was Adelaine s face. I started to think about how I would be as sweet as pie
towards her this year and I hoped for the best that she would return the favour.
Meanwhile, my teacher blabbered on and on all about the dull classroom expectations that never
prevail towards the end of any school year. The blabbering continued until footsteps were heard
entering into the class. I looked at the entrance s general vicinity and I saw no one other than Adelaine
walk inside. I heard her softly apologise to our teacher for being late and she soon seated

Characterizer: The Sieve and The Sand The character Faber in Fahrenheit 451 is an old retired English
Professor that acts as a guide, a teacher, to Guy Montag. Montag initially seeks out Faber to find more
about books, as he caught Faber once with something that seemed to be of literature. He spoke in
rhyme and rhythm, perhaps familiar with poetry and other literary devices. Montag wanted a copy of
the bible to read and decipher, thus requesting one from Faber, having obtained his contact
information from his last encounter. Montag insists for a copy of the Bible, even calling Faber, with
not much of a reply. Even when Montag goes to knock on Faber s door, Faber still won t open. After

Faber is the only person that can help him figure out and decipher what he is reading. Faber
reminisces about the old smell of books as well as Christ, who has become a different character in
their present day media. He also labels himself as a coward, for not being able to stop all the burning
of books when it first started. At this point of time, Farber becomes more of a teacher to Montag rather
than just a mere consultant. Faber explains that Montag seeks knowledge, not the books themselves
but what s inside them. Faber believe that books are feared because they record history and life and
that people need leisure time to think, which people did not have the enjoyment at the time. He
believes burning books is foolish, because it removes the knowledge and wisdom that they contain
from people. He also believes that people need to react and change from the present day society. Faber
also acts as an acquaintance to Montag s plans. Immediately after Faber s explanations, Montag agrees
and wants to start a rebellion, wanting to steal books and reprint them. Faber continues to be a guide
and consultant for Montag, continuing to exchange

Variance Is A Statistical Method Used For Test Differences...
Analysis of variance is a statistical method used to test differences between two or more means.
ANOVA is used to test general rather than specific differences among means. An ANOVA conducted
on a design in which there is only one factor is called a one way ANOVA. The One Way ANOVA is
considered an omnibus test because it indicates whether or not there are any significant differences in
the means between any of the groups. However, it does not indicate which mean are different. The
One way ANOVA compares the means of the samples or groups to make inferences about the
population means. The one way ANOVA, two kinds of variables: independent and dependent. Also,

The One Way ANOVA can compare the means of three or more groups. Furthermore, by running
additional t tests an increase 5% error increases with every t test ran. An ANOVA, on the other hand,
has a 5% error, that remains trough the duration of the test. Therefore, if one is running many controls
the type I error remains at 5% and the researcher can be more confident that any statistically
significant result you find is not just running lots of tests.
In a one way ANOVA, the null hypothesis tested by rather the population means are equal, or that
each of the group means is equal. If the null hypothesis is rejected, then it can be concluded that at
least one of the population means is different from at least one other population mean. The alternative
hypothesis, however, looks to see that at least two of the group means are significantly different. The
assumption of independence is obtained if the observations are random and independent if they are to
be representative of the populations and in no way related or dependent on another. The distributions
of the populations from which the samples are selected are normal; This is commonly referred as the
assumption of normality. The variances of the distributions in the populations are equal. This is often
referred as the assumption of homogeneity of variance.

Persuasive Essay On Tipping
The United States is one of the few counties in the world still using the old fashion tipping system.
During the late 19th century legislature rapidly abolishes the practice of tipping when it is introduced
by wealthy Americans. Eventually restauranteurs find a way to prospect of passing labor costs to
consumer, which convinced the American to accept the practice of tipping. When many American don
t understand the purpose of tipping is for but somehow it is customer responsibility to pay the
restaurant employees based on their service. There are many reasons to argue about the tipping
system. But, most of them ignore the very basic problem with abolishing tipping in America, the most
difficult of which is our absurdly low minimum wage. The practice is abhorrent from a historical
perspective. Recently, New York City s Sushi Yasuda owner Scott Rosenberg announced that he
decided to eliminate tipping altogether. Following the custom in Japan, he decided to pay his
employees higher wages and redistribute the cost to the customers by raising the prices on the menu.
Is this a good idea? Rosenberg, who abolished tipping at his restaurant, made a very powerful
statement against the Outdated of tipping practice. He penned what many others believe is one of the
most succinct and yet irrefutable way. The staff no longer worry about making a lot of tip on weekend
and penny on weekday. Rosenberg quote The risk is that your prices appear to be high on the menu.

Before FIFA World Cup 2010 launched in South Africa, the main attraction was mostly on gold and

their investment will be a strong motivation to the South Africa economy, it will make more and more

Human Development Index
The critical difference between most development models and the human development index is that
most development models only focus on income while the human development index includes the
enlargement of all human choices economic, political, social and cultural which all affect income.
Comparing countries Gross National Product/Gross Domestic Product per capita is the most common
way of measuring the level of development today. This model of economic growth assessment is
based on a weak foundation that is not sustainable over a long term economically, ethnically and
politically. Higher per capita income in a country does not necessarily mean that the country s
inhabitants are better off than those in a country with a lower income per capita. Along with many
other measures of development, these various indicators do no capture many aspects of human well
being. Sometimes, a country with a high level of national income records a significantly high
percentage proportion deemed to be in poverty, illiterate, in poor health, with no access to a clean
water supply and sanitation, and thus limited a huge disparity is observed, based on gender inequality,
ethnicity and income.
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a compilation statistics of mean schooling years, life
expectancy and income recorded then used to rank countries into four tiers of human development.

deaf based school community where he is receiving a significant amount of support from a deaf
community; with the hopes that ultimately, Michael will be able to embrace his deafness and still
connect to the hearing world. His participation in therapy and his school s ready to learn program is

Frozen
Frozen With a beautiful combination of catchy songs, life like animations, and an incredibly well
developed plot, this Disney animated film leaves the world frozen in amazement. Released in
December 2013, the movie Frozen speaks on being different and of love. The main character, Anna,
and her older sister, Elsa were extremely close until Elsa s wintery powers of which she was born with
almost got Anna killed. While Anna held on to that relationship, Elsa had shut herself out in fear of
hurting someone. Things got worse as their parents, the king and the queen died in a shipwreck,
leaving the sisters more alone than ever. Years later, Elsa is forced to interact with others during her
coronation, the build up of emotions and feelings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frozen easily fills this requirement because who hasn t ever felt alone or different? Anyone who is
different, like Elsa, would be feared, mistreated, labeled, and honestly, who s the same?Everyone is
unique and different in their own way. In society, people who are different are made fun of, excluded,
judged, etc. Watching Elsa go from fearing herself and isolating herself to accepting and loving herself
showed us who cares what others think? Who never felt shy or nervous like Anna did before the ball.
Everyone should be able to relate to at least one of the characters in this movies and therefore Frozen
would be deemed realistic. In the eyes of Franzen and Groen, the movie Frozen would be considered
quality art as it contains realistic characters, realistic scenarios as life is tragic , and realistic and
relatable in general. Aside for that, Frozen is a top rated movie that everyone, not only kids

The Invention Of Snowboarding
The first ever snowboard was not even a snowboard. The idea that first introduced the idea of
snowboarding was called a Snurfer. A Snurfer was a simple board and rope that Sherman Poppen
made for his daughter in the year of 1965. His invention became popular and he started selling them.
Then, Jake Burton got the idea to strap his feet down to the board. It was a modified snurfer with
bindings. He made a company called Burton and his company made the first official snowboard in
1980. In 1983, Jeff Grell made the highback bindings. These are the bindings that are most popularly
used today. However, competition really boosted the sport s popularity which caused people to make
the sport better and more enjoyable. Competition was one of the most

Essay On How Cuban-American Relations Have Changed Since...
For my research topic I want to look into how Cuban American relations have changed over the last
year since the Cuban Thaw began and how they will continue to change. For decades the United States
and Cuba have had a tense relationship to say the least. With the end of the Cold War, the leadership in
Cuba changing from Fidel Castro to Raúl Castro, and the leadership in the United States switching
from President Bush to President Obama, I feel that the most optimal time for change is now.
President Obama has very little time to enact meaningful change in the relationship between the US
and Cuba. I want to research how the changes he s already enacted and those he will enact (through
the time I will be in Washington D.C. and through January) will affect relations for the decades to
come. The ambitions of the Obama administration to restore full diplomatic relations with Cuba have
been carried out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
provides a wealth of opportunity for research on this subject. Two of the most important United
Nations organizations have their headquarters in Washington D.C., the World Bank Group and the
International Monetary Fund. I believe that interning at either of these two organizations would give
me the best tools to do my research and become the most knowledgeable in the subject area that I m
interested in. The key advantage that these two organizations have is their information and
involvement in world affairs. While Cuba is not currently a member of either of these two
organizations I strongly believe that new ties will be formed and (in the case of the IMF) old ones will
be restored with the expansion of the Cuban Thaw. The other possibility for an internship I m most
interested in is the State Department. With President Obama s administration in place I believe that the
State Department would provide an excellent opportunity to delve deep in how United States Cuban
relations will change over the next year and into the

Religious Influence On Supreme Court Cases
Influence on Decisions of Supreme Court Justices by Their Religions Hao Meng Abstract Religious
influence on judiciary, especially when it comes to Supreme Court Justices, is a complicated issue,
and it has been controversial in U.S.. Talking about judgement for the influence, it s not all inclusive
by only dividing them into liberals and conservatives, instead, a comprehensive approach is to focus
on specific cases. Keywords Supreme Court Justice; religion; legislation; law; abortion; gay rights;
death penalty Introduction Justice is not to be taken by storm. She is to be wooed by slow advances.
Substitute statute for decision, and you shift the center of authority, but add no quota of inspired
wisdom. Benjamin N. Cardozo[1]. In the view of many citizens, Supreme Court Justices are like legal
machines, interpreting constitution to promise American people of equal justice. Throughout
American history, numerous case laws have established the pattern of judicial decisions of U.S., thus
making little room for new legislation. However, even Supreme Court Justices are human beings, who
can be influenced by various factors. It s not that simple to determine the inclination of a justice to his
or her religious belief, political philosophy and ideology. The essence of judicial process requires a
justice to vote under any circumstance based on law, precedents and most important, constitution. No
Supreme Court Justice will say that he or she has personal or political

If a situation occurs that requires the assistance of Law Enforcement Officers, the Security Officer on
duty should contact the Emergency Police (911) or Non Emergency Police (602) 262 6151

  • 3. The Social Changes And Political Revolutions To begin with, The social changes and political revolutions are to be sought, not in men s brains, not in man s better insight into eternal truth and justice, but in changes in the modes of production and exchange by Engels. Basically what Engels s means by that is the materialist formation of history starts from the scheme of the production and how exchanges of things are produced, and that is the basis of all social structure. Fundamentally, as in every society it has emerged in history and it still is happening that the manner in which wealth is distributed and how the society is divided into classes or estates is dependent upon what is produced, and how it is produce, and how the products are exchanged. And this is what that needs to be sorted out. Therefore, the mode of production is playing a big role in today s society and also as it did back in the days. Everything is dependent; one person is dependent on other in this society. Moreover, society is divided into two groups; one group is whom who are ruling over the other group by taking his/her rights; capitalism is playing its role. Moreover, changes in the productive forces are more powerful cause of revolution. In conclusion, Engels takes an historical materialist approach. He indicates that the capitalist mode of production is fundamentally contradictory and from this he traces a series of social and economic conflicts that follow inevitably from this basic contradiction by establishing Historical ... No. Do you have at least 3 years professional Android development experience? No. You should have experience in almost every field that is connected in some way with mobile development, examples are: Java, Android SDK, Eclipse ADB, Knowledge of Android specific UI patterns and affordances, IOS, PHP, JQuery etc., oh and let s not forget about the degree in computer science. So if we say that you become a Junior developer, wait a few years, then go up to just being a developer and take your life in your hands by reading books and coding more than you breathe, yes, you might be able to apply for a position like that in about 30 years. The chart below sums up the main skills that are required in order to launch your career in Mobile Development. How does that fit my skill set? Barely. Humans And Replicants In Ridley Scott s Blade Runner Ridley Scott s 1982 Blade Runner presents viewers with a dystopian world of Los Angeles where genetically engineered robots known as Replicants, are executed in an emotionless and indifferent procedure called retirement by special police operatives called Blade Runners. The interactions between humans and Replicants highlight the diminishing state of humanity that humans have brought upon themselves. This is not only shown through the conflicting yet human ambitions of the Replicants, but contrasted with the cold and gloomy depiction of humans as a whole. Humans are additionally depicted to be ignorant of the many similarities between Replicants and themselves, often due to a lack of empathy. These depictions of Replicants as a more emotionally attached species prompt viewers to make a somewhat ironic conclusion: that they portray greater humanity than actual humans. ... • 8. Resource Depletion And Greenhouse Gas Emissions Lifecycle Analysis Background The content of analysis will examine paper. It will look at the harvesting of the materials, production, distribution, and finally the waste. This lifecycle analysis is to explain a consumer product s life from production to waste. This is to show the environmental effects that the products has during its life time. A few of the environmental impacts that will be focused on is resource depletion and greenhouse gas emissions. These were chosen because of the chain reaction they can cause. Greenhouse gases are known to be linked to climate change, which is a global problem so the impacts of these emissions are on a very large scale. Resource depletion is another problem because more than one species rely on forest. Therefore, the depletion of it is not only bad to humans but the other organisms that use it for their survival. If this resource was to be completely used up, then it could lead to a loss of biodiversity which could be bad for the local ecosystem. In addition, since some ecosystems are linked together the loss of one could have a huge effect on another causing a domino effect. Would you stare in amazement or would your heart be filled with fear? At first some people may look upon the idea of cloning with disgust and question themselves if humans should play God while others would be interested and study the many possibilities that cloning offers. This illustrates the path that cloning has taken over the latter part of the twentieth century. At first, when cloning was brought up in conversations, people tended to fearfully think of an army of identical persons marching across the earth in hopes of ruling humans. Since then people think that biologists are cloning both human and other mammal s embryos only to see how far they can push the scientific envelope, but in fact there are many legitimate reasons for investigating cloning. Embryologists believe that research into cloning could help improve the life of future generations. Cancer research is possibly the most important reason for embryo cloning they argue. Oncologists believe that embryonic study will advance understanding of the rapid cell growth of cancer. Cancer cells develop at approximately the same phenomenal speed as embryonic cells do. By studying the embryonic cell growth, scientists may be able to determine how to stop rapid cell division, and also stop cancer growth in turn (Hyde 15). Another important area of embryo cloning research is embryonic stem cell development. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can develop into almost any type of cell in the body. These cells are not attacked by a person s immune system, because of their fast development and undifferentiated status (Wilmut 4). Many doctors believe that these stem cells could be used in treatments for brain and nervous system damage. Perhaps a more questionable use of cloned embryos is for spare parts and hormones. Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany, thought the Jews were the reason that Germany lost World War I (Jews in Nazi Germany History Learning Site). Hitler blamed them for almost all of Germany s problems and he wanted to exterminate the entire Jewish population. The Shawl , written by Cynthia Ozick, tells one of the many horrifying stories from the Holocaust. The story has three main characters: the young mother Rosa, her baby Magda, and her fourteen year old niece Stella. They were victims of the Holocaust who had an awful experience in the Nazi concentration camps. Whenever the holocaust victims had to march to different concentration camps, people who could not walk on their own in a line were shot on the spot, including infants. Rosa protects Magda by hiding her in a magic shawl, but Stella selfishly takes away the shawl, leading to Magda s death. Through the characters of Stella, Rosa, and Magda, Cynthia Ozick shows the desperation and inhumanity that resulted when the Holocaust victims were denied of their basic human rights. The Shawl is set late in World War II when the Allied forces were beginning to penetrate into Germany itself. During the Holocaust, the Nazis denied the Jews basic human rights, violating their rights to life, liberty, and property. Hitler said it was not enough for the Jews to ... • 11. The Face Of Battle By John Keegan John Keegan describes his book, The Face of Battle, as a personal attempt to catch a glimpse of the face of battle. This personal aspect that Keegan mentions is essential to his book and is excellently articulated, driving home his point. Keegan, who taught at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for over 25 years, begins by acknowledging his uneasiness with the fact that even though he taught British cadets military history, I have not been in a battle; not near one, nor heard one from afar, nor seen the aftermath . . . And I grow increasingly convinced that I have very little idea of what a battle can be like. Keegan is clear to state his proposition that almost all military history has functioned simply as a battle piece description in which one can see all the larger moving aspects followed by the outcome. However, this sort of recounting fails to acknowledge the personal side of war, the experience of battle. What really ensues when a cavalry unit meets an infantry unit? What are the vital features in determining whether soldiers stand and fight or turn and run? Having proposed that military history has been failing in its duty, Keegan then continues to demonstrate how it should be done. The battles of Agincourt, Waterloo, and the Somme are the main interests of the book; these battles took place centuries apart and all involved British armies. He examines, in detail, which aspects of war changed or remain constant between the three battles. Keegan brilliantly and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Doctrine Of Primal Sin Essay Augustine on the doctrine of primal sin focuses on the downfall of Lucifer, and whether or not he foreknew there would be consequences in turning away from God. However, it is arguable that Lucifer did foresee his coming downfall. Because his intentional actions in turning away from God goes against his angelic nature, which means he had to deliberately had to deprive himself of the greatest of goods, and actively pursue misery. For Lucifer perversely chooses to abandon all that is good by turning away from God, and towards what is contrary of Him, which is nothingness. That in which, on behalf of Augustine, I will argue that Lucifer did foresee the coming of his downfall. For Lucifer chose to bolster the vices of his will, which became the very means of degenerating his angelic nature. Consequently, this means Lucifer intentionally pursued what is contrary to the God, thus leading to his fall. In behalf of Augustine, it is arguable that Lucifer foreknew his actions in rebelling against God was going to bring about a particular consequence. For it is significant to understand the development of the vices which enables Lucifer to fall. For Augustine explains in book 12, chapter 1; all Angels recognize a common good in their nature which is to cleave to God. Elizabeth I, monarch of England, and Marie de l Incarnation, a French nun, both invoked God and other forms of religious power to stake their claims to authority. Although working to better their countries, both of these writers are vastly different due to their social positions. While Elizabeth had the substantial task of ruling over her country, Marie was serving her country as a missionary; however, both writers utilize religion to accomplish their various duties. • 22. Disadvantages Of Communication Case Study 2 Different type of message should be conveyed by using different strategies. There are three main categories for communication method depending on its content (Communication Strategies, 2017). Type 1: Mass communication Mass communication is the method of conveying message using online resource such as email, newspaper and memos. It is considered as a cost effective medium since it allows all the participate to receive the information with least cost. However, the disadvantages of this method are it is not personal as the employee might ignore the message to get the information. There is no feedback for the implementation of the method. Type 2: Interactive Communication This method requires feedback from the reader for interaction purpose. For example, the mediums for interactive communication are email for Q A pages, online chats and online discussion. Employees can ask questions using anonymous identity and this facilitates a two way communication where both parties can receive the information needed. The few disadvantages are it is very time consuming and ineffective to spread the information as the first method. • 24. Endotherm Endotherm refers to animals that adjust core temperature by internal corrective mechanism such as humans. Most of the endotherm keep their body temperature around 35°C to 40°C. The body temperature is controlled by the thermoregulatory centre in the hypothalamus. The temperature regulating centers are discovered in the preoptic area situated in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus. The function of this area is to receive information from temperature receptors located in the skin, mucous membranes and also from the central thermoreceptors that monitor the temperature of blood that pass through the brain. The hypothalamic thermostat works with other areas of the brain to maintain the core temperature. When human facing cold weather, our skin temperature drops. This stimulates skin cold receptors.
