Blood Imagery In Macbeth Essay
In Shakespeare s Macbeth a play, a man named Macbeth goes through a great transformation;
Macbeth goes from being a heroic general in the king s army to an assassin and a tyrant. The theme of
the play is never give into evil because it destroys no matter what the benefits are. Blood Imagery is
very important in the play; it shows Macbeth s evil ambition in the beginning, middle, and end of the
play.
In the beginning of the play, blood imagery is very important. quot;Till he unseamed him from the
nave to the chaps, / and fixed his head upon our battlements quot;(I.ii.22 23). Macbeth has just killed
the enemy and become a hero; Macbeth killed the enemy not for fame or fortune but to defend his
land and people. In this next quote Macbeth s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

quot;Avaunt! And quit my sight!Let the earth hide thee! / Thy bone are marrowless, thy blood is cold;
/ thou hass no speculation in those eyes quot;(III.iv.93 96). Banquo s ghost haunts Macbeth, and
Macbeth is unable to face it. Macbeth s evil ambition usually leaves Macbeth feeling at peace or safe,
but now his ambition has left him with a painful vision of his dead friend. quot; What, you egg! /
Young fry of treachery! / He has killed me quot;(IV.ii.79 82). Macbeth has sent his men to catch and
kill Macduff, and instead Macbeth s men kill Macduff s innocent son and later his wife. Macbeth is
now giving orders to kill woman and children; he has become a complete tyrant.
In addition to the middle, blood imagery is important to the end of the play. quot;Out, damned spot!
out quot;(V.i.28). Lady Macbeth s guilt has overcome her; every night she scrubs her hands to remove
the blood, the guilt of killing. Lady Macbeth pays for her husband s crimes with her life. quot;He s
worth more sorrow, / And that I ll spend for him. / He s worth no more. / they say he parted well, and
paid his score quot;(V.viii.51 53). The evil Macbeth killed the good young Siward. YOung Siward s
blood was spilt for good; he did not die in shame; young Siward died with honor as a soldier should
and for that his father was proud.

Pioneers of Sociology
Pioneers of Sociology * Karl Marx He said that the working class will defeat the ownership class, and
result in a utopia where government will wither away to nothing and the principle of economics will
be based on For each according to his needs, and from each according to his ability. His contribution
to thinking in sociology is mainly in a perspective called Conflict Theory in which social organisation
and change is based upon conflicts built into society. Many people see this as having much
resemblance to classical (Greek and Latin) myths about the Phoenix Bird (who flies too close to the
sun and burns) and creation myths of Athapaskan people of the Great Plains of North America. It is
ironical that he predicted revolution to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He used a multidimensional approach to analyzing society. His interpretation of sociology merged the
economic, cultural, and political organizations of society together as being what shaped social
institutions and social change. Another major contribution by Weber was his definition of social action
as a behavior to which people give meaning; e.g., placing a bumper sticker on your car that states
pride in the U.S. military troops. * Vilfredo Pareto His discovery that power laws applied to income
distribution embroiled him in political change and the nascent Fascist movement, whether he really
sided with the Fascists or not. Fascists such as Mussolini found inspiration for their own economic
ideas in his discoveries. He had discovered something that was harsh and Darwinian, in Pareto s view.
And this fueled both the anger and the energy of the Fascist movement because it fueled their
economic and social views. Pareto had argued that democracy was an illusion and that a ruling class
always emerged and enriched itself. For him, the key question was how actively the rulers ruled. For
this reason he called for a drastic reduction of the state and welcomed Benito Mussolini s rule as a
transition to this minimal state so as to liberate the pure economic forces.

Disadvantages Of Ruby On Rail
Yukihiro Matsumoto was the founder of the language, Ruby, and built by the particular user interface

every type of data is known as an object. For the web development handling, Ruby on Rails web

ADVANTAGES OF RUBY ON RAILS
Ruby on Rail is constructed by the language of ruby which is a programming language dynamically.
Thus, the basic advantage of Ruby on Rails comes by the language usage, as ruby makes it very easy
to do Meta programming.
One major advantages of Ruby on Rail is its MVC framework, in which RoR offer sever handling
view layers, the models layers (database communication), as well as the interaction between such
layers with the help of controllers. Different frameworks depend on several developmental efforts to
get this.
One more essential feature is the database tables mapping to the objects of Ruby named as models.
The running database along with the application code, already it contain everything Ruby on Rails
needs to know, that s why there is no need to deal with the inner deep details.
In Ruby on Rails, the striking feature is known as scaffolding. With the Ruby on Rails scaffolding,
automatically, it create the operations of CRUD complete set (i.e., Create, Retrieve, Update, as well as
Delete), along with the database table views. Then, they can modify it according to your application

We Should Invest Our Tax Dollars Essay
INTRODUCTION
I grew up in South Akron, and graduated from Garfield High school. This high school has meant a lot
to the community and the students that attended it. This is not just a building, but an institution that
has turned out a lot of great minds and professional athletes. Losing the high school in this district
would be devastating. I feel that we should invest our tax dollars in our own city, and worry about the
future of our own child, by keeping Akron schools in the community of Akron.
Purpose
Garfield high along with Kenmore High school have been slotted to be torn down. There are no dates
as of yet to when the projects will start. The removal of these two public two public high schools
would leave the entire southern portion of Akron and nearby Kenmore without a high school in or near
these districts.
Problem
Building the learning site in Kenmore would cause major busing problems. The city already owns the
property of Garfield High school, so why go out and spend money for property, when you have a
property already available? Some people may disagree and say Kenmore is an excellent choice
property wise, and the land is readily available. I feel that we should invest our tax dollars in our own
city, and worry about the future of our own child, by keeping Akron schools in the community of
Akron.
Scope
My proposal for a solution to the problem is to build a new learning center on the site occupied
Garfield High school. This would give the southern portion of

Type Of Luxury Consumers By Robert Frank
In the article Type of Luxury Consumers , the author, Robert Frank, tries to deal with the issue of the
behaviour of luxury consumers. He introduces the readers that the consumers will spend their money
lavishly to show wealth and status based on their economic ability. They are willing to buy expensive
items with a good branding compared to the low end product that lack of explicit markers. The author
argues every type of luxury consumer has their own desire and taste to follow the trend and the effect
of these consumers towards the brand management. The author agrees with the research made by the
USC Marshall School of Business about this issue. This can be proved when his thought is always
parallel with the study. There are a few types of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The example of inductive reasoning is based on paragraph VII, he states the Gucci s brand use
bamboo on its product to discreet their uniqueness compared to the counterfeit items. Then the author
gives a few effects to the manufacturer if they do not make a brand ubiquitous such as Burberry faced
in the 1990s, when its trademark checked plaid became ubiquitous and was fashioned into everything.
Based on the article, we can make the inference that non patrician gives bad effect towards the brand
management. Because non patrician is the one who is willing to buy cheaper items to being updated as
long as they can afford it without bothering the quality.
Based on paragraph IV, we can conclude that there are 4 types of consumers which are patrician,
parvenus, poseurs and proletarians. Every consumers has their own desire and taste to follow the
trend. They want to be looked wealth by their belonging items. Thus, non patrician is the one who
contributes the most in counterfeiting as long as they follow the trend and being

The Gilded Age And Imperialism Expansion
Luke McGrath
HIS 122 101

Part I: Short Essay Format
Question #1, American attitudes toward our culture can be paradoxical The Gilded Age or Imperialism
expansion examine the conflicting values that America held for each.
The gilded age was a period in history that caused a vast transformation due to the increase of
American industrialization. Values and attitudes toward The Gilded Age varied.
The poor workers often saw the changed caused by the Gilded Age as corrupt, where the rich business
men looked at it as a positive change. The poor laborers in the gilded age often viewed the change that
occurred during the era as a negative one. The fact that working conditions for laborers were poor was
no secret. A passage from Upton Sinclair s The Jungle depicts these conditions of an old man stating,
He worked in a place where his feet were soaked in chemicals and it was not long before the
chemicals had eaten through his boots. Then sores began to break out on his feet and grew worse and
worse. In the end of this story the man continued to work until he died because he needed to take care
of his family. This alone would tend to develop an attitude of negativity by poor immigrants and
laborers toward changes made by the gilded. For more proof one can find various examples of strikes
and civil unrest by workers usually against business owners and police. This too is evidence that the
poor laborers of the time were unhappy with their situation.

The Secret River By Kate Grenville
The Secret River is written by Kate Grenville, an internationally well known author. It s also her most
influential magnum opus. Kate Grenville said, her mother s grandfather was a poor man from London
and sentenced to be sent to Australia because of stealing timbers in the early nineteenth century. After
arriving to Sidney, he thought presumingly that he finally had his own land. The thing makes
Grenville curious is that the land was supposed to belong to aboriginal people but how her grandfather
could make a living on this land. It s important for her to know about if her grandfather dealt with this
problem by gun or even gave the exchange to aboriginal people. Therefore, she did a lot of historical
researches and wrote novel The Secret River eventually. This is a story about family and Australia. It s
also a story about more than a family that narrates a complicated relationship between Australia s
aboriginal people and white colonists. It happened in the early nineteenth century in England and
Australia. William Thornhill, the hero came from a family of little money and suffered from hunger
and cold since childhood. Afterwards, Thornhill was apprenticed to Sal s father and became a capable
boatman on the river of Thames, also got married with Sal. However, after Sal s parents died one after
the other, their living got more and more poverty stricken so that Thornhill had to make a living by
stealing. Once during the action, they were being found and his brother was

Analysis Of Epictetus And Mills On The Way People Should...
2.) When we debate about Epictetus and mills work we tend to agree with both philosophers but one
of these philosophers ideas are better than the other. When it comes to Epictetus and Mills advice on
the way people should live life is quite interesting. Epictetus advise us on the fact that some things are
in our power and choice worthy we talk about clear thinking, right choices, right aims, good character
traits. Stoics believe that if we develop the habit or disposition of getting our aims, valuations, and
thoughts right we can experience happiness and understanding of a better life. Also things such as
opinion, aim, desire, and aversion . Since aim, desire, and aversion normally lead to action, the action
is partly but not entirely in our power. Character depends on upon our opinions and aims, which are in
our power; hence character traits virtues or vices are under our control. The presence or absence of
violent feelings moreover is in our power. Some things are in our power and to be avoided confused or
ignorant thinking, wrong choices, bad aims, and bad character traits. Normally to be selected, but not
when doing so would conflict with correct thinking and action. These include but are not limited to
health, survival, physical beauty, good reputation, freedom from pain. Some things are not in our
power. These include but are not limited to illness, an early death, physical homeliness, and physical

Fredendall s Failure In Relating To The Realities Of War

MG Fredendall rarely left the Command Post and was removed from the front lines, being hidden in
underground bunkers. His verbal orders were vague and he continually bypassed the 1st Armored
Division commander, MG Ward, so as to deal directly with the combat commanders. His orders were
based solely (Nidorest) on directive and not from the information on hand. He regularly ignored the
advice of his subordinates.

It was a complete disaster for the Allied Forces and large victory for the Axis powers. It set a tone for
further engagements along the western front of the Tunisian invasion. Only the lack of clear unity of
command between the Italians and Germany allowed the offensive to stall.
4. ASSESS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ACTION:
a. Relate causes to effects.
The US doctrine relating to the use of tanks and tank destroyers was flawed, furthermore unit
commanders failed to both properly exercise the doctrine and adapt to the realities of war. This lead to
a total failure in our ability to properly engage and defeat the German forces.
A lack of good intelligence and the inability to properly utilize the intelligence we had made it
impossible to properly position our forces prior to the battle starting. Furthermore it greatly reduced
our ability to reinforce our front lines and counter the German attacks.
b. Establish military lessons learned.
Doctrine should be fluid, it must be allowed to adapt and change as the situation dictates. You cannot
allow yourself to get stuck in a singular mindset about how war is fought. Our enemy s technology
and tactics are always evolving and we must always strive to evolve both to adapt to and overcome

Opponents Of The Electoral College System
Opponents of the Electoral College system also point to the risk of so called faithless Electors. A
faithless Elector is one who is pledged to vote for his party s candidate for president but nevertheless
votes for another candidate. There have been 7 such Electors in this century and as recently as 1988
when a Democrat Elector in the State of West Virginia cast his votes for Lloyd Bensen for president
and Michael Dukakis for vice president instead of the other way around. Faithless Electors have never
changed the outcome of an election, though, simply because most often their purpose is to make a
statement rather than make a difference. That is to say, when the electoral vote outcome is so
obviously going to be for one candidate or the other, an occasional Elector casts a vote for some
personal favorite knowing full well that it will not make a difference in the result. Still, if the prospect
of a faithless Elector is so fearsome as to warrant a Constitutional amendment, then it is possible to
solve the problem without abolishing the Electoral College merely by eliminating the individual
Electors in favor of a purely mathematical process (since the individual Electors are no longer
essential to its operation).
Harm 2: direct popular vote does not encourage the cohesiveness of the country by not requiring a
distribution of popular support to be elected president
the Electoral College system contributes to the cohesiveness of the country by requiring a

Classical Vs. Modern Music
Classical vs. Modern Music
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria. He was born to an
overbearing and ambitious father, Leopold, who was more than anxious to exploit his son s
extraordinary musical gifts. Mozart began composing at an early age, and he began touring around the
same time. Throughout his life, Mozart made many enemies, many his own fault, through his naive
arrogance and harsh critique of his musical contemporaries. He worked feverishly, composing
symphonies and operas, as well as touring constantly. Mozart died of overwork and kidney failure on
the 5th of December 1791 while still ironically at work on the Requiem Mass for an unknown patron.

Emmanuel Krivine conducted the performance, with featured soloists Joshua Bell (Vieuxtemps violin
concerto) and Stewart Goodyear (Mozart piano concerto). A full orchestra performed the symphonies.
Overall, the Mostly Mozart Festival was a tremendously enjoyable experience. The qualities that
define the works of Mozart are often the same as those that are used to describe those of the classical
period of music, from his smooth melodies and flowing rhythm, to his pleasing use of dynamics to
create an atmosphere of complete satisfaction. One of the most defining principles of the style of
Mozart is the connection to nature and God, and the seeming oneness and harmony that can be
achieved simply by listening while the melodies take you to a higher plane of thought.
The most enjoyable piece from the performance was Allegro, from Mozart s Concerto in Dm. There
are simply not enough words in the English vocabulary to describe how eloquently crafted and
rhythmically shaped this piece is. One of the most outstanding elements of this piece is the harmony
created between the piano and the strings as they accompany each other with seeming flawlessness.
The resulting experience is exhilarating to say the least. Accentuating the piece even more was the
performance by the virtuoso pianist, Stewart Goodyear. Although still in his early twenties, this

Oppression Essay
Oppression signifies an authority over another group, disengaging that particular group from the rest
of society. The term oppression encapsulates the fusion of institutional and systemic discrimination,
personal bias, bigotry, and social prejudice in a complex web of relationships and structures that shade
most aspects of life in our society (Bell, 1997). In one way or another every individual experiences
some form of oppression, whether it be through race, sex, gender, religion, age, wealth and/or sexual
orientation. These cultural minorities experience inequality where a dominant culture casts its
authority and power through exercises of unjust and cruel methods; these methods have been
experienced through the Women s Movement, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A great achievement of women s movements worldwide has been their success in breaking the silence
about male violence against women in intimate relationships (Vickers, 2002). Having broken the
silence of violence it has also broken the silence of oppression. The ongoing battle(s) of women s
rights suggests that the silence of oppression is of the past and the future holds equality for all alike.
...power is the capacity to terrorize, to use self and strength to inculcate fear, fear in a whole class of
persons (Dworkin, 1981). Male dominance exhibits and practices fear toward those of different
classes, its use is to gain power to which control is given. In the male system, sex is the penis, the
penis is sexual power, its use in fucking is manhood (Dworkin, 1981). The male mind indicates that
without a penis an authority of power is dismissed and overlooked. Unfortunate for society today male
hierarchy continues to be the dominant practice and the penis is a visual and vital form of power. Male
sexual power is the substance of culture (Dworkin, 1981). Although women have come a long way
their oppression and limited amount of power in society has yet to be broken and adjusted because of
this visual of the male penis extracting power in society. With the Women s Movement challenging

Globalization and Western Dominated Policies in Africa
Abderrahmane Sissako s film Bamako (2006) and Homi Bhabha s essay Of Mimicry and Man: The
Ambivalence of Colonial Discourse both explore how the globalization and Western dominated
policies affect the deepest levels of everyday life of ordinary Africans. In his essay Bhabha defines
Mimicry as the subordination of the eastern countries on the hands of the ruling classes and the
resultant effect of this domination.
The thematic similarities between Sissako s film and Bhabha s essay go beyond their contemporary
post colonial studies. Homi Bhabha was born and raised in India, got his PHD in England, and is now
teaching at Harvard University. Abderrahmane Sissako was born in Mauretania, brought up in Mali

about which they develop their work.

Comparing The Etruscan Civilization Between C. 1000 And...
1. The Etruscan civilization flourished between c. 1000 and 100 B.C. also known as the Iron Age
(Villanovan) in Etruria or what is now known as modern day Tuscany, Italy. Etruria s southern area
was bordered by the Tiber River and its northern area was bordered by the Arno River in which the
areas were broken up into city states ruled by their own rulers.
2. The Apollo of Veii is a 5ft. 10 in. painted sculpture molded out of terra cotta. This sculpture was
originally a decoration on the roof of a temple built by the Etruscans. Both the Greek and Etruscan s
style of art was similar, with that being said the particular sculpture is a resemblance of the Greek
Archaic style of art. The curvilinear style along with the flat surface patterns of the folds of the drape/
clothes he was wearing, the diagonal calf muscles radiating from beneath the knee, the smile, and the
style in which the hair was made (long locks) are the same characteristics of Archaic Greek art. The
difference between the Etruscan and Greek art form lies in the clear and crisp contours, forms and
stylization, of Apollo s body along with the fact that he is depicted as striding (showing fluid flowing
movement). This is also what makes the sculpture of Apollo of Veii realistic because the sculpture not
only shows fluid motion (the position of his legs and his stretched out arms) but also the expression
that is on Apollo s face.

How Did The Fall Of Cleopatra
Cleopatra was a very well known and respected pharaoh of Egypt. She was born a princess, as her dad
was Pharaoh, in 69 B.C.. At about the age of 18 her father died and left her and her brother, Ptolemy
XIII, the throne. Cleopatra was the older sibling so she automatically got more power. But, as her
brother got older he gained more power and kicked her out of the throne. In about 48 B.C. a man
named Julius Caesar went to Egypt. He was forced by Cleopatra to start a battle with her brother in
hopes of getting the throne back. Fortunately for her, Cleopatra s brother drowned in that battle and
she got the throne back. Cleopatra and Julius quickly fell in love that same year, despite the age gap of
31 years. They then, had a child named Caesarion. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lots of people liked her because she embraced the Egypt culture. Also because, she did not have any
serious threats to deal with. In around 44 B.C. Julius Caeser was assassinated. When we was killed, in
a brutal stabbing, he was in Rome. Then, Marc Antony came along. Marc Antony was one of the many
leaders of Rome. He needed money for a project he was doing and turned straight to Cleopatra. They
instantly fell in love. Since, Cleopatra wanted her son, Caesarion, to be the heir of Caesar, she asked
Marc to help her do so. They then, formed a military alliance against Octavian, another military leader
from Rome, because apparently he turned on them. Even though they had the alliance, Octavian
defeated Cleopatra and Marc Antony. After that, Marc Antony went to Rome to recover and defeat
Octavian. Only, while he was there he heard false news that Cleopatra had killed herself.
Unfortunately, Marc Antony thought this was true and committed suicide by stabbing himself with his
sword. Cleopatra heard the news and because of the circumstances with Marc Antony and Octavian,
she decides to let a poisonous snake bite her. That is the story about Cleopatra and her ruling among

Spirituality and religion This study seeks to add to the knowledge base pertaining to the role of
spirituality and religion in the educational experiences and outcomes of African American (male)
students (Jett, 2010). It is important to have values of any kind that mean something personally for an
individual including spirituality and religion, this can help guide young adult male further into
completion of a college degree. Although the four A.A. men in the study are spiritually grounded, they
do not share the same religious affiliations or denominations (Jett, 2010).

Pros And Cons Of Predatory Pricing
There are several interesting topics professor Aggarwal discussed in Econ 140, the two topics I found
most interesting were predatory pricing and vertical integration. Predatory pricing is a method used by
firms to lessen competition by essentially eliminating them out of the market. It is the act of charging
a price below the firm s own marginal cost in order to drive out a rival out of the market. Once the
firm successfully drives the rival out of the market it is free to increase its price and charge its desired
price. Predatory pricing is only optimal when the firm s present value of the future profits is greater
than the loss profits needed to drive out competitors. The predator must have the sufficient amount of
financial resources to participate in such an act, so it can outlast the prey, the competitor. The two
firms therefore compete in a price war which is beneficial to the consumer during the price war,
however when the predator wins it will essentially have a monopoly and drive up prices far more than
usual. Predatory pricing is an illegal act, however it is difficult to prove due to the fact that it can be
portrayed as price competition and not a deliberate act. It is not illegal for a firm to lower its pricing as
it could be seen as a competitive action. The Federal Trade Commission carefully examines claims of
predatory pricing for this reason because it is legitimate business practice. Strict enforcement of rules
against predatory pricing could lead to firms

Essay on Song Analysis Micheal Jackson- Beat It
Selina Pearl
Professor Finch
English 109

Michael Jackson Beat It
In 2009, we lost one of the greatest entertainers in music history, however his music still lives on,
inspiring and touching people s heart. I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson, and the reason
why I picked this song is because it presents a strong message. Not only did
Jackson make a powerful statement with his lyrics, he also made one with his choice of rhythm and
beats. The guitars and drums that were used, give the song a dramatic rock vibe. According to music
critics Jackson s album Thriller seemed to be inspired by a mixture of several genres which previously
were never combined ( thrilleralbum). It is pretty obvious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second verse talks about making the right choice to just go away instead of shedding blood, and
trying to be a tough guy. The third verse simply describes that even if one chooses to walk away, it is
better to be alive than to risk it. The fourth verse in my opinion talks about the consequences of
fighting and that if one chooses to be violent, chances are that they will get hurt.
As mentioned earlier the chorus defines to just walk away although No One wants To Be
Defeated. It is better to go because in the end It Doesn t Matter Who is Wrong Or Right.
Jackson uses very powerful words and explains that it is always best to look out for yourself instead of
proving yourself to others. It is not worth the struggle (songfacts).
As I was analyzing the song, I was listening for specific sounds and noises that would symbolize the
meaning of the song. I heard a police siren which could symbolize that if you get involved with gangs
and violence, you will end up in jail. I also heard a snapping sound and deep breathing sounds. The
breathing sounds could represent the sound of someone running away and catching a breath. I could
detect sounds as if someone was getting punched and sounds of blades which could represent a fight.
While searching for different meanings of the song I came across an interesting

The Cupbearer
The Enigma of the Cupbearer is a short video in which the narrator introduces viewers to the Cycladic
figurine Cup Bearer. It is a rare figure type, and the only intact seated Cup bearer from Cycladic art.
The figure is thought to be male because it is in action, and females were often shown standing with
their arms crossed over their chests. In the Cup Bearer the male is made of marble, and is sitting on a
stool made from the same piece of marble. He is holding a cup in his right hand, and is poised as
though getting ready to take a drink, make a toast, or offer a libation to the gods. The meaning of this
figurine, and others from this time, is unclear, but it is historically important since it marks an artistic
milestone. According

King Henry The Second s Leadership Failures
Thesis Statement: King Henry the Second s leadership failures came about because of a few unethical
activities and bad fundamental leadership decisions which prompted an uprising of the people who
eventually overthrew him. I. Introduction A. The play by William Shakespeare Tragedy of King
Richard the Second is an excellent example of how not to be a leader as it relates to King Richard II
(Higginbotham,2014). B. In the beginning, it seems King Henry II is a mighty King with great
leadership as seen in Act 1 Scene 1 as he is sitting upon his throne where he must decide the outcome
of an argument between Thomas Mowbray and Henry Bolingbroke, who is Richard s cousin.

B. He lost the support of the people in the land because he never paid attention to their needs and just
casually threw them to the side and squandered away their money and property without regard to the
safety of the country. III. Decisions made during leadership IV. A. Among the primary responsibilities
of the king, he was supposed to be able to solve conflicts, and as a result, he was supposed to be a
judge and rule over some instances. It was this responsibility that King Richard failed and this lead to
a position where most of the public was not satisfied with the decision that he was making while in
power (Guttman, 1968, p. 110). In a series of crisis, different people in the government were able to
show that they were not in support of the way the king was running the kingdom. This fact goes a long
way in explaining the reasons as to why the king had resistance (Guttman, 1968). B. Rulings that the
king made over conflicts were not very good. The majority of people were not able to see the justice in
the judgments, and they felt that they were not judged relatively (Higginbotham2014). King Richard II
s actions had the effect of making the people want to get the justice that they deserved through the
process of requesting for change from the leadership that they had in place. These downfalls opened
the door for Bolingbroke to start a revolt. V. Principal causes of failure in leadership A. All through the
reign of King Richard, there are a few factors

Analysis Of The s Romeo And Juliet

Icarus Research Paper
One of the biggest issues parents deal with every day is making sure their children obey their orders.
Although it seems like a simple task to adults, many young teens take pride in disobedience as it
allows them to feel independent. This goes back to the phenomenon of reverse psychology. This
anomaly is revealed in numerous ancient tales such as the forbidden fruit, and even Shakespeare s
Romeo and Juliet. Ovid s myth Daedalus and Icarus is yet another example of disobedience; however,
there is much more to it than that. Well before the first flight, the ancient Greeks predicted the risks of
entering into the realm of the gods (Rogers). Daedalus and his son, Icarus, wanted to escape a
labyrinth that they were trapped in. Knowing they couldn t escape by land or sea, Daedalus, a great
inventor, fabricated two sets of wings with wax and feathers. He warned his son Icarus that if he flew
too high the sun would melt the wings, or if he flew too low the water would splash up and soak the
wings causing him to fall. After only a few minutes of flight Icarus becomes engulfed by the
excitement of flight and continues to ascend. As a result the wings melt and he falls to his death. The
story of Daedalus and Icarus centers on the desire to explore despite inherent teachings that stress the
importance of following rules.
The first evidence of the story of Icarus existing comes from an ancient piece of pottery

Looking for a Job and Stories from Korcula Island
It is 2010/2011 the summer is on the front door and I m start to think about the job that I could work
this summer. I was start searching on a few places and talk with some people for some free place to
work and at that moment it seems that I will have a job, but I was not feel some kind optimistic about
them. Day by day I feel relaxed with the fact that I have some free time to enjoy before I start with the
job and that was a pretty good for me. As the time was passing, of course no one of them still didn t
call me as I expect, so it was obvious that I will need some alternative to earn some money, somehow.
I start to search again but now it was to late, because everybody now have people to work for them. In
one moment I feel like Im without options but I new that at least I can count to work with my parents
with apartments, and to be honest that is not such bad. Everyday meeting new people from all around
the world, you can learn something about some other culture, mentality, and similar. On the Korcula
island summer is the best part of the year, there is a lot of people everywhere, a lot of event is going
on and it is really great compared to winter. The best day of the year is the 30. Of June, it is
celebrating the half of new year and it is at least three times better then anything else including the
new year itself. We were already prepared for that day, after all we new that it will come sooner or
later so what we could do else then to just use it to relax and enjoy

Paramedic Career Research Paper
It s not the lack of strength that holds us back, it s the lack of will. (Darrell Fitch) I used this quote

A firefighter s salary can range from anywhere between $40,000 to $75,000. But the more years of
experience help out. Most of the firefighters with the basic entry level of education usually earn an
annual average of $41,000. If the applicant chooses the path of a paramedic, they will have a starting
salary of $70,000. Both these career paths have great benefits such as covering medical, dental, and
vision bills. Choosing this career limits the amount of vacation time the applicant is eligible to have. It
is possible to have summers and holidays off but it also depends on the schedule the station assigned.
Firefighter/ paramedics have the benefit and the satisfaction of saving people s lives. The applicant s

The Culture, Climate And Material Resources Of The Haida...
HAIDAARCHITECUTRE
Lauren Fraser 300254667 Page Count 2789
Haida architecture evolved from artistic necessity. As isolated island people they had few resources to
trade. They relied on their reputation for artistic design and excellent craftsmanship amongst the
mainland tribes to trade for the resources they needed. This research essay explores the culture,
climate and material resources of the Haida Gwaii (Haida People) First Nation of British Columbia,
Canada.
The Haida People are an indigenous ethnic group of the Pacific Northwest situated along the west
coast of Canada in British Columbia. They are a people mainly from the archipelago of Haida Gwaii
in northern BC as well as Alaskan Haida and the Kaigani peoples which make up the Haida First
Nation.
As a society the Haida are well known for their highly stylized art form that is expressed in their
distinctive carvings and unique traditional house design. Early visitors from the mid 18th century were
astonished by the ingeniousness of the construction of their houses and the level of detail in the
carvings into the wood of their homes and totem poles using only basic technology. (History Museum)
The combination of their culture, the materials they had available and the climate of the islands
heavily influence their architectural style. This also meant they were very isolated from the rest of the
world and had strongly developed their technique of carving and building construction. With advanced

  • 2. Blood Imagery In Macbeth Essay In Shakespeare s Macbeth a play, a man named Macbeth goes through a great transformation; Macbeth goes from being a heroic general in the king s army to an assassin and a tyrant. The theme of the play is never give into evil because it destroys no matter what the benefits are. Blood Imagery is very important in the play; it shows Macbeth s evil ambition in the beginning, middle, and end of the play. In the beginning of the play, blood imagery is very important. quot;Till he unseamed him from the nave to the chaps, / and fixed his head upon our battlements quot;(I.ii.22 23). Macbeth has just killed the enemy and become a hero; Macbeth killed the enemy not for fame or fortune but to defend his land and people. In this next quote Macbeth s ... Banquo s ghost haunts Macbeth, and Macbeth is unable to face it. Macbeth s evil ambition usually leaves Macbeth feeling at peace or safe, but now his ambition has left him with a painful vision of his dead friend. quot; What, you egg! / Young fry of treachery! / He has killed me quot;(IV.ii.79 82). Macbeth has sent his men to catch and kill Macduff, and instead Macbeth s men kill Macduff s innocent son and later his wife. Macbeth is now giving orders to kill woman and children; he has become a complete tyrant. In addition to the middle, blood imagery is important to the end of the play. quot;Out, damned spot! out quot;(V.i.28). Lady Macbeth s guilt has overcome her; every night she scrubs her hands to remove the blood, the guilt of killing. Lady Macbeth pays for her husband s crimes with her life. quot;He s worth more sorrow, / And that I ll spend for him. / He s worth no more. / they say he parted well, and paid his score quot;(V.viii.51 53). • 3. Pioneers of Sociology Pioneers of Sociology * Karl Marx He said that the working class will defeat the ownership class, and result in a utopia where government will wither away to nothing and the principle of economics will be based on For each according to his needs, and from each according to his ability. His contribution to thinking in sociology is mainly in a perspective called Conflict Theory in which social organisation and change is based upon conflicts built into society. Many people see this as having much resemblance to classical (Greek and Latin) myths about the Phoenix Bird (who flies too close to the sun and burns) and creation myths of Athapaskan people of the Great Plains of North America. It is ironical that he predicted revolution to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He used a multidimensional approach to analyzing society. His interpretation of sociology merged the economic, cultural, and political organizations of society together as being what shaped social institutions and social change. Another major contribution by Weber was his definition of social action as a behavior to which people give meaning; e.g., placing a bumper sticker on your car that states pride in the U.S. military troops. * Vilfredo Pareto His discovery that power laws applied to income distribution embroiled him in political change and the nascent Fascist movement, whether he really sided with the Fascists or not. Fascists such as Mussolini found inspiration for their own economic ideas in his discoveries. He had discovered something that was harsh and Darwinian, in Pareto s view. And this fueled both the anger and the energy of the Fascist movement because it fueled their economic and social views. Pareto had argued that democracy was an illusion and that a ruling class always emerged and enriched itself. For him, the key question was how actively the rulers ruled. For this reason he called for a drastic reduction of the state and welcomed Benito Mussolini s rule as a transition to this minimal state so as to liberate the pure economic forces. ~ Min ... • 6. We Should Invest Our Tax Dollars Essay INTRODUCTION I grew up in South Akron, and graduated from Garfield High school. This high school has meant a lot to the community and the students that attended it. This is not just a building, but an institution that has turned out a lot of great minds and professional athletes. Losing the high school in this district would be devastating. I feel that we should invest our tax dollars in our own city, and worry about the future of our own child, by keeping Akron schools in the community of Akron. Purpose Garfield high along with Kenmore High school have been slotted to be torn down. There are no dates as of yet to when the projects will start. The removal of these two public two public high schools would leave the entire southern portion of Akron and nearby Kenmore without a high school in or near these districts. Problem Building the learning site in Kenmore would cause major busing problems. The city already owns the property of Garfield High school, so why go out and spend money for property, when you have a property already available? Some people may disagree and say Kenmore is an excellent choice property wise, and the land is readily available. I feel that we should invest our tax dollars in our own city, and worry about the future of our own child, by keeping Akron schools in the community of Akron. Scope My proposal for a solution to the problem is to build a new learning center on the site occupied Garfield High school. This would give the southern portion of ... • 7. Type Of Luxury Consumers By Robert Frank In the article Type of Luxury Consumers , the author, Robert Frank, tries to deal with the issue of the behaviour of luxury consumers. He introduces the readers that the consumers will spend their money lavishly to show wealth and status based on their economic ability. They are willing to buy expensive items with a good branding compared to the low end product that lack of explicit markers. The author argues every type of luxury consumer has their own desire and taste to follow the trend and the effect of these consumers towards the brand management. The author agrees with the research made by the USC Marshall School of Business about this issue. This can be proved when his thought is always parallel with the study. There are a few types of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The example of inductive reasoning is based on paragraph VII, he states the Gucci s brand use bamboo on its product to discreet their uniqueness compared to the counterfeit items. Then the author gives a few effects to the manufacturer if they do not make a brand ubiquitous such as Burberry faced in the 1990s, when its trademark checked plaid became ubiquitous and was fashioned into everything. Based on the article, we can make the inference that non patrician gives bad effect towards the brand management. Because non patrician is the one who is willing to buy cheaper items to being updated as long as they can afford it without bothering the quality. Based on paragraph IV, we can conclude that there are 4 types of consumers which are patrician, parvenus, poseurs and proletarians. Every consumers has their own desire and taste to follow the trend. • 8. The Gilded Age And Imperialism Expansion Luke McGrath HIS 122 101 Midterm Exam 09/29/2014 Part I: Short Essay Format Question #1, American attitudes toward our culture can be paradoxical The Gilded Age or Imperialism expansion examine the conflicting values that America held for each. The gilded age was a period in history that caused a vast transformation due to the increase of American industrialization. Values and attitudes toward The Gilded Age varied. The poor workers often saw the changed caused by the Gilded Age as corrupt, where the rich business men looked at it as a positive change. The poor laborers in the gilded age often viewed the change that occurred during the era as a negative one. The fact that working conditions for laborers were poor was no secret. A passage from Upton Sinclair s The Jungle depicts these conditions of an old man stating, He worked in a place where his feet were soaked in chemicals and it was not long before the chemicals had eaten through his boots. Then sores began to break out on his feet and grew worse and worse. In the end of this story the man continued to work until he died because he needed to take care of his family. This alone would tend to develop an attitude of negativity by poor immigrants and laborers toward changes made by the gilded. For more proof one can find various examples of strikes and civil unrest by workers usually against business owners and police. This too is evidence that the poor laborers of the time were unhappy with their situation. On the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Secret River By Kate Grenville The Secret River is written by Kate Grenville, an internationally well known author. It s also her most influential magnum opus. Kate Grenville said, her mother s grandfather was a poor man from London and sentenced to be sent to Australia because of stealing timbers in the early nineteenth century. After arriving to Sidney, he thought presumingly that he finally had his own land. The thing makes Grenville curious is that the land was supposed to belong to aboriginal people but how her grandfather could make a living on this land. It s important for her to know about if her grandfather dealt with this problem by gun or even gave the exchange to aboriginal people. Therefore, she did a lot of historical researches and wrote novel The Secret River eventually. This is a story about family and Australia. It s also a story about more than a family that narrates a complicated relationship between Australia s aboriginal people and white colonists. It happened in the early nineteenth century in England and Australia. William Thornhill, the hero came from a family of little money and suffered from hunger and cold since childhood. Afterwards, Thornhill was apprenticed to Sal s father and became a capable boatman on the river of Thames, also got married with Sal. When we debate about Epictetus and mills work we tend to agree with both philosophers but one of these philosophers ideas are better than the other. When it comes to Epictetus and Mills advice on the way people should live life is quite interesting. Epictetus advise us on the fact that some things are in our power and choice worthy we talk about clear thinking, right choices, right aims, good character traits. Stoics believe that if we develop the habit or disposition of getting our aims, valuations, and thoughts right we can experience happiness and understanding of a better life. Also things such as opinion, aim, desire, and aversion . Since aim, desire, and aversion normally lead to action, the action is partly but not entirely in our power. Character depends on upon our opinions and aims, which are in our power; hence character traits virtues or vices are under our control. The presence or absence of violent feelings moreover is in our power. Some things are in our power and to be avoided confused or ignorant thinking, wrong choices, bad aims, and bad character traits. Normally to be selected, but not when doing so would conflict with correct thinking and action. These include but are not limited to health, survival, physical beauty, good reputation, freedom from pain. Some things are not in our power. It was a complete disaster for the Allied Forces and large victory for the Axis powers. It set a tone for further engagements along the western front of the Tunisian invasion. Only the lack of clear unity of command between the Italians and Germany allowed the offensive to stall. 4. ASSESS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ACTION: a. Relate causes to effects. The US doctrine relating to the use of tanks and tank destroyers was flawed, furthermore unit commanders failed to both properly exercise the doctrine and adapt to the realities of war. This lead to a total failure in our ability to properly engage and defeat the German forces. A lack of good intelligence and the inability to properly utilize the intelligence we had made it impossible to properly position our forces prior to the battle starting. Furthermore it greatly reduced our ability to reinforce our front lines and counter the German attacks. b. Establish military lessons learned. • 12. Opponents Of The Electoral College System Opponents of the Electoral College system also point to the risk of so called faithless Electors. A faithless Elector is one who is pledged to vote for his party s candidate for president but nevertheless votes for another candidate. There have been 7 such Electors in this century and as recently as 1988 when a Democrat Elector in the State of West Virginia cast his votes for Lloyd Bensen for president and Michael Dukakis for vice president instead of the other way around. Faithless Electors have never changed the outcome of an election, though, simply because most often their purpose is to make a statement rather than make a difference. That is to say, when the electoral vote outcome is so obviously going to be for one candidate or the other, an occasional Elector casts a vote for some personal favorite knowing full well that it will not make a difference in the result. Still, if the prospect of a faithless Elector is so fearsome as to warrant a Constitutional amendment, then it is possible to solve the problem without abolishing the Electoral College merely by eliminating the individual Electors in favor of a purely mathematical process (since the individual Electors are no longer essential to its operation). Harm 2: direct popular vote does not encourage the cohesiveness of the country by not requiring a distribution of popular support to be elected president the Electoral College system contributes to the cohesiveness of the country by requiring a ... • 13. Classical Vs. Modern Music Classical vs. Modern Music Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria. He was born to an overbearing and ambitious father, Leopold, who was more than anxious to exploit his son s extraordinary musical gifts. Mozart began composing at an early age, and he began touring around the same time. Throughout his life, Mozart made many enemies, many his own fault, through his naive arrogance and harsh critique of his musical contemporaries. He worked feverishly, composing symphonies and operas, as well as touring constantly. Mozart died of overwork and kidney failure on the 5th of December 1791 while still ironically at work on the Requiem Mass for an unknown patron. Though he lived for a relatively short time, ... A full orchestra performed the symphonies. Overall, the Mostly Mozart Festival was a tremendously enjoyable experience. The qualities that define the works of Mozart are often the same as those that are used to describe those of the classical period of music, from his smooth melodies and flowing rhythm, to his pleasing use of dynamics to create an atmosphere of complete satisfaction. One of the most defining principles of the style of Mozart is the connection to nature and God, and the seeming oneness and harmony that can be achieved simply by listening while the melodies take you to a higher plane of thought. The most enjoyable piece from the performance was Allegro, from Mozart s Concerto in Dm. There are simply not enough words in the English vocabulary to describe how eloquently crafted and rhythmically shaped this piece is. One of the most outstanding elements of this piece is the harmony created between the piano and the strings as they accompany each other with seeming flawlessness. The resulting experience is exhilarating to say the least. Accentuating the piece even more was the performance by the virtuoso pianist, Stewart Goodyear. The term oppression encapsulates the fusion of institutional and systemic discrimination, personal bias, bigotry, and social prejudice in a complex web of relationships and structures that shade most aspects of life in our society (Bell, 1997). In one way or another every individual experiences some form of oppression, whether it be through race, sex, gender, religion, age, wealth and/or sexual orientation. Male dominance exhibits and practices fear toward those of different classes, its use is to gain power to which control is given. In the male system, sex is the penis, the penis is sexual power, its use in fucking is manhood (Dworkin, 1981). The male mind indicates that without a penis an authority of power is dismissed and overlooked. Unfortunate for society today male hierarchy continues to be the dominant practice and the penis is a visual and vital form of power. Male sexual power is the substance of culture (Dworkin, 1981). Etruria s southern area was bordered by the Tiber River and its northern area was bordered by the Arno River in which the areas were broken up into city states ruled by their own rulers. 2. The Apollo of Veii is a 5ft. 10 in. painted sculpture molded out of terra cotta. This sculpture was originally a decoration on the roof of a temple built by the Etruscans. Both the Greek and Etruscan s style of art was similar, with that being said the particular sculpture is a resemblance of the Greek Archaic style of art. The curvilinear style along with the flat surface patterns of the folds of the drape/ clothes he was wearing, the diagonal calf muscles radiating from beneath the knee, the smile, and the style in which the hair was made (long locks) are the same characteristics of Archaic Greek art. The difference between the Etruscan and Greek art form lies in the clear and crisp contours, forms and stylization, of Apollo s body along with the fact that he is depicted as striding (showing fluid flowing movement). This is also what makes the sculpture of Apollo of Veii realistic because the sculpture not only shows fluid motion (the position of his legs and his stretched out arms) but also the expression that is on Apollo s face. 3. • 23. Pros And Cons Of Predatory Pricing There are several interesting topics professor Aggarwal discussed in Econ 140, the two topics I found most interesting were predatory pricing and vertical integration. Predatory pricing is a method used by firms to lessen competition by essentially eliminating them out of the market. It is the act of charging a price below the firm s own marginal cost in order to drive out a rival out of the market. Once the firm successfully drives the rival out of the market it is free to increase its price and charge its desired price. Predatory pricing is only optimal when the firm s present value of the future profits is greater than the loss profits needed to drive out competitors. The predator must have the sufficient amount of financial resources to participate in such an act, so it can outlast the prey, the competitor. The two firms therefore compete in a price war which is beneficial to the consumer during the price war, however when the predator wins it will essentially have a monopoly and drive up prices far more than usual. Predatory pricing is an illegal act, however it is difficult to prove due to the fact that it can be portrayed as price competition and not a deliberate act. It is not illegal for a firm to lower its pricing as it could be seen as a competitive action. The Federal Trade Commission carefully examines claims of predatory pricing for this reason because it is legitimate business practice. Strict enforcement of rules against predatory pricing could lead to firms ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As mentioned earlier the chorus defines to just walk away although No One wants To Be Defeated. It is better to go because in the end It Doesn t Matter Who is Wrong Or Right. Jackson uses very powerful words and explains that it is always best to look out for yourself instead of proving yourself to others. It is not worth the struggle (songfacts). It was this responsibility that King Richard failed and this lead to a position where most of the public was not satisfied with the decision that he was making while in power (Guttman, 1968, p. 110). In a series of crisis, different people in the government were able to show that they were not in support of the way the king was running the kingdom. This fact goes a long way in explaining the reasons as to why the king had resistance (Guttman, 1968). B. Rulings that the king made over conflicts were not very good. The majority of people were not able to see the justice in the judgments, and they felt that they were not judged relatively (Higginbotham2014). Analysis Of The s Romeo And Juliet Peter Smith Angela Wood Disc 1313 April 20, 2015 Icarus Research Paper One of the biggest issues parents deal with every day is making sure their children obey their orders. Although it seems like a simple task to adults, many young teens take pride in disobedience as it allows them to feel independent. This goes back to the phenomenon of reverse psychology. This anomaly is revealed in numerous ancient tales such as the forbidden fruit, and even Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. Ovid s myth Daedalus and Icarus is yet another example of disobedience; however, there is much more to it than that. Well before the first flight, the ancient Greeks predicted the risks of entering into the realm of the gods (Rogers). Daedalus and his son, Icarus, wanted to escape a labyrinth that they were trapped in. Knowing they couldn t escape by land or sea, Daedalus, a great inventor, fabricated two sets of wings with wax and feathers. He warned his son Icarus that if he flew too high the sun would melt the wings, or if he flew too low the water would splash up and soak the wings causing him to fall. After only a few minutes of flight Icarus becomes engulfed by the excitement of flight and continues to ascend. As a result the wings melt and he falls to his death.
